"To do it every time we have to, and we will not get complacent. We have about a minute left guy for people in ST Bernard Parish timeline. What are you hearing from the National Weather service in terms of what they can expect, Starting when and lasting until when. But we're thinking tropical Storm whether 30 to 40 Mile an hour winds in Saint and, um, safe in our parish, starting at around 1 A.m.. Andi, This is such a slow moving storm. We're looking at it coming to Biloxi, Marsh. Um, uh, one PM on What would that be Tuesday? So you know we're going. We're going to see gusts of up to 50 or 60 Miles an hour, and I remember Tommy that's based on the last Track right? That all can change. But as of right now, we're still looking at some heavy winds over sustained period of time. And if this thing jog a little bit to the West, we could have a significant raining that If it jogs significantly or just a little bit to the East. We can stop the storm surge, so this thing could go either way, But it looks like right now We're going to get some storm surge. We're going to get a lot of wind and that as much rain as we expected Thank you. Guy. McGinnis President ST Bernard Parish time now. 8 30. That means WWL First news with Dave Cohen. From our Jefferson Financial Federal Credit Union Studios now is serving Jefferson Orleans and ST Tammany Parishes Beats WWL First news at 8 30 Good morning Here's the latest from your official weather station, WWL AM FM and DOTCOM Sunshine bigger through the clouds. Today's if you outta rain bands from Sally Start to move on in this afternoon about 60% chance of those Up for some heavy rain and gusty winds. The band's pushed by with highs in the upper eighties, your local weather expert WWL TV meteorologist Dave knows bombs. Sally is having trouble getting organized and is a lopsided storm with none of the shower activity. Wrapping around the center of circulation before half, however, is calling for it to make landfall in Mississippi now, not Louisiana, the National Hurricane Center this morning Is continuing to forecast the eye to just clip maybe southern Plaquemines Parish, break a car across ST Bernard Parish and then move into Mississippi with the worst of the weather than in Mississippi, Alabama and the Florida Panhandle. I talked about that, with WWL TV meteorologist Peyton Malone and the forecast that calls for a Sally to become a Category one hurricane before turning toward Mississippi. There's still that you know, big question on how close is it going to get to the mouth of the river for it Makes that turn So that's what we'll be watching as we go throughout today and going into tonight. Of course, as Sally continues to move in encouraging that from last night overnight and into this morning, the National Hurricane Center is thinking is that Sally makes a landfall somewhere between Bay, Saint Louis and past Christianne. If that track holds, and we know that's a big if that puts the worst of the storm to our East and greater New Orleans would be spared the most intense impacts correct. Yes, With that track, you know, it would certainly help with the rainfall potential and the wind. Of course, right. The big question. There's gonna be a tie Grady in and that means the rainfall totals are going to drop off really fast as you get away from the storm. So there, you know, it could be 5 10. Miles makes a huge difference in the forecast. And as you know, that's hard to forecast 5 to 10 Miles, and especially with the slow moving storm. So for right now, things look much better for Louisiana. But any wobble to the West could be worse for this region. Regardless, people outside the levee protection should expect to see the water rising. Regardless of where the lie I makes landfall. That'll mean from plaque amends to ST Bernard Orleans and into ST Tammany. They'll see the water coming up with that storm surge that could be a high as 11 FT. There are some mandatory evacuations as we hear from WWL TV. She buttered that includes all of ST Charles Parish in Blackman's Paris, the entire East Bank and West Bank from the Phillips Alliance refinery to Venice's under evacuation, and the same goes for coastal areas of Jefferson Parish, including Grand Out Barrett Area, Crown Point and Lower Laffite. In ST John Parish, everything north of airline highway low lying areas of Hancock County, Mississippi, and then finally, areas outside of the levee system in Orleans Parish. Why is ST Charles Parish the on Ly one to Issue a parish wide mandatory evacuation? We ask ST Charles Parish Public information officer Sandra de Castro. Don't search is definitely a concern. Just because of our position between The river and the lake in the area, but originally and still continuously concerned about the amount of wind. We know that during Hurricane Katrina and Isaac, what kind of Damage was done in the parish with the wind and with high winds. That means that power poles and trees are being knocked down, and that would put us without power for an extended period of time. So it's really a combination of all those things. She said. While the forecast does look better now they want to see the trend continue, particularly with the 10 A.m. path released from the Hurricane Center in Justin, Our Anna have no school today across southeast Louisiana, except in New Orleans, where distance learning will continue. We'll have more coming up on Sally. Meanwhile elsewhere, CBS.

"So what's your plan today got four boats going out and they're all headed to the biloxi marsh two of them are texans my group from texas so they're definitely going to go through plastics at refuse and the other two boats have some live shirt and they're gonna let us inspect trout as well as redfish so that's why they're heading in that direction they'll probably do the live under a coke and the texans will be thrown spinners and spoons that kind of stuff it's a good week i still up and down the mr go fishing live bait on the ledge is in the box and the drop offs and i'm still averaging between fifteen thirty trout at a few redfish mixed them here and there so clings a moving things are moving along just fine it'd be nice if the lake with all of a sudden pick up and i could cut my drivetime down to about ten minutes spoon i through the spoon today out of the kayak and that was a great to use this week due to the wind just throw so nice but hopefully the wind will be a little quieter today and take it easy marsh can get a little bumpy when it's blown out there there's a small west wind i'm standing on the dock facing west and there was a light west wind at the moment and i'm i'm pretty certain by ten o'clock that's gonna drop down so we've you know instructed everybody to be leery of nats where you long sleeves and long pants or your amber roaming whichever way you heard the nats were really bad this week in areas that didn't enjoy wind right the natural always biting the natural decision and then we certainly have a lot of fish mike bates situation in your area robbie's telling us not only the small he's planning on running out this morning because of demand and he's gonna start dragging his net locally next week but they're having shrimp brought in from the empire bureaus area they bring them in by truck in a big tank and when i pulled up at five o'clock i saw the truck go by so i'm certain that they just got a shipment i'm sure they got thousands of shrimp at the marinas the key a couple of weeks that yeah that's what i was going with that.

"I did not make any trips to the biloxi marsh but this week the trips that i had we stayed in by ub avenue area which has been my well well this week just because of the winds and you know the clientele that i had still a lot of bass being caught down by the new area came across a few speckled trout some black girl made a show and we had some live bait to fish with them some live shrimp and redfish caught a couple of red fish is well on each trip doesn't seem to be a real pattern it's it's just like bass fishing while you're using your trolling motor and easing down the shoreline of the by you you might find them at points or you might find him at the intersection of another by small tanaz something like that when you do find some then obviously you wanna duplicate that same sort of scenario in a different area of that by you you know mike it's funny how people measure that success of their trips by what they catch and sometimes by what they ex their expectation is and for right now if i were going out this weekend i would say my expectation is to get out and enjoy this nice springtime weather and do just what you did maybe try to put together a mixed bag pick up a trout or to hear some red fish black drama for sheep et bites my cookies coming along for the ride to at the end of the day you had a great day but it's all in the expectations if you go out there today and you say i want to get twenty five trout per person and we're gonna nail 'em you probably going to go with your feelings hurt i have those type conversations very often with new clients that call on the phone and i simply tell them that in march if i can catch twenty trout it's a great day but in may if i only catch twenty trout it's a bad day and you're only sixty to ninety days apart from march to me so it's just the season plays a big role in in the productivity of what you checked.

"What will happen is asset water approaches it'll actually confined to fish and they'll stay ahead of it in the cleaner water that they can and it's sorta like fishing offshore and i do realize i'm not an offshore fishermen but i know that there's a rip where you have clean water and dirty water or maybe clean and cleaner water right next to one another forms line and those ficials stay right in that area and as that river water approaches and like pontchartrain it will show up on the south shore i of the bridges and then it sort of gradually goes north and it'll confine the fish official continually move ahead of it they'll get into the wrigley's they'll move into lake born and depending on how long the spillway opens and how much of the dirty water is continue to move eastward which i've been getting this question all week which is a normal progression for fish we normally find trout out on the outer edges the islands along the the biloxi marsh area it's usually later in the summer june july august this year they'll make their way out there it just may be earlier now if they shut the spillway sooner and we don't have a tremendous amount of freshwater that comes in it'll dilute somewhat and they may only go half way so they may only go to lake born hang out in that area until their natural instincts defined salty water when they're spawning kick in in the may june timeframe then moved further east mike before you go how can people get a hold of you and you got you on your on our web page and you've got your own website and phone and you've got an expanded lodge going.
