Boston Red Sox Take A Closer Look At Corey Kluber

"There is more activity coming out of boston as well. They are rumored to be interested in several free agents and buster olney. espn's buster only reported that quote. The red sox have talked a ton of possibilities are preparing for a series of moves before the start of spring training and quote so move. Benintendi isn't the only move. That's on the mind for the red sox There's a couple of other names here. That have been linked right hander. Jayco dharavi starting pitcher. He he's up and down when it comes to his career. He was in minnesota for some time then down to texas but professional arm to come in and give them quality innings veteran relief pitcher. Alex colom formerly of the white sox in his point eight. Era from twenty twenty now. There are some concerns when you dive in a bit. Deeper into sabermetrics there is a dip in velocity and hard hit contact has increased. But you know it is a results oriented. Sport and alex colom was still fantastic for a the white sox this past summer. You have former cy. Young winner corey kluber pitching for teams on wednesday january thirteenth. So you guys may know how that workout went by the time. You're listening to this He's gonna throw about twenty five thirty pitches and it seems to be about two thirds of major league. Baseball teams will be in attendance. So the main goal is to show teams. He's healthy show. Teams that velocity is still there because he's basically missed. The entirety of the last two seasons with multiple injuries forearm torn right Throwing muscle a lot of different things going on with kluber but he could be a perfect. You know bowe bilo free agent option for not only boston but a couple of other different teams out there and the last guy the red sox have been tagged to is actually outfielder yasuko week. You know puig's been in and out of baseball and could find himself as a cheap option out there in the outfield for boston and a lot of people don't like i actually don't mind him. I liked the energy place with. I like the passion that he brings to the yard ultimately he's probably not the performer. He once was but he'll give you a professional at bats. Play hard for you. And i do think that people in boston would certainly like

HOW TO SELL INTO LARGE ACCOUNT AND WIN BIG DEALS

"He josh. Welcome to the show was way of getting started. Tell us about yourself a Brian. Yeah thanks for having me. I'm Josh Bilo. I've been in the technology and software industry for about twenty six years so you could tell by some of the grays I'm currently with a company called red point global and have been there about a year a half now any stress and sales. I've noticed that pressure in correlation. Yeah Yeah I think. There's a lot of stress sales absolutely. I think it's really managing the stress that I've found his Has Been working tons of stress. And how'd you get into? Sales was the natural progression with a psychology degree. Or it was. It was kind of an interesting story because I'm a psychologist every day. believe me. I got into sales Bexley. My grandfather always said Who passed away. Many many years ago he was an insurance salesperson the south side of Chicago or and he would say check go into sales not psychology best way to earn a living sales sales sales sales and after being beat over the head. Several Times I went into sales. Never look back man never looked at and what you like about it when you first started you know what I really liked is especially early on. When I was young I would be able to go into these meetings and just really learn a lot of accompanies. I think it was really curiosity about going to a different company. Time being different. Is this problem and it just kind of fun as opposed to a job so you had an interest in business or you had an interested in making money or well you know. It's Funny Bolts I. It's gotta change over time but I think more interest in business and making money I think the business aspect of it was fascinating it was like getting an MBA and Evans. Somebody pay for it And the making money was was great. you know if you don't make money off selling into the company naturally or was it a painful process or the natural? The natural selling capabilities was Could take back the natural by. I think it was more. The challenge was it came. It was difficult to adjust to process. I really in having a process. Early on I was more what they used to call. You know Piss and vinegar right must've energy energy. I even have a really good story about it. I I could tell you if you want. What share but it was really energy I was out there just really showing and telling as opposed to listening at the time and that does create a lot of beginners lock in sales just the sheer passion and enthusiasm and the the energy level did that dissipate after a while or did you have to find what you were working really hard and not closing deals. Yeah I think the working really hard and not closing deals. Can you talk about stress at sales and because very stressful? Because you really find. It's kind of dumb luck initially because you're working really hard you're passionate and you're like why don't they like me? You know it was all about me and that was eventually it changed. It had to. Yeah because I I see a lot of young. I was probably one of them. That you have that enthusiasm and you and you think just because you had a great meeting where people were living off your energy and I saw the possibility and they looked like they were gonNA take the next step but then it just never goes anywhere. Was that something you experience. Many many times you know. And that's That's why we say something. Wentz told me you gotta get the grades before he could really get started selling a lot. You know. It wasn't just gray. Hair was powdered of really understanding. Hey has got to be a different approach hip because I see you always putting you know this type of sales person is the best type or this approach is the best approach and he. Now I go. I don't think it's just one little thing I think. The strongest correlation is years of experience. Gray hair the the wrinkles the social issues that really have people learn the hard part because it is since it so long. It's not a single call like selling a car. It you know. There's so many meetings so many variables so many things that can go wrong or stall a deal that you have to have seen these things and then you have to internalize them and care about them. Yeah Yeah and that's that's it right internalizing and caring about him. You know Out just a quick story on that is as with a company called platinum technology big company here in Chicago for many years and when they got acquired by a company called computer associates. As like. Now what so I went on all these interviews. I interviewed with a guy and he did a great job great presentation. I really appreciate it. I can't hire you. I said what do you mean? I thought I did a great job. Representatives you understand Michael Jordan. He takes free throws he took shots that over and over again. He's done it though because I have to hire somebody a little more season. You just haven't done it enough you know. I was a little discouraged because I've sold stuff so it's very similar and that's it is also a lot of people get into a big brand company at the right time they kind of associated them and not the brand and sometimes it's down. Yeah a lot of times the break. Yeah Yeah Yeah. I've seen a lot of that as well right. You know. I've been with small companies large companies across the board and non with a mid sized company. That's doing well but you know you and I think it's interesting because I think things have have changed because it's not about the brands anymore. You know it's not about the huge companies. It's about that salesperson. Be Able to effectively. Move along something as well as being trusted. I think trust is so important today. And how do you create that or build it? Yeah part of those are the grey hairs. It's partly because you know I've been doing what I've been doing for a while that I'm able to understand the customer. This goes back the psychology of selling right. You know. Be able to understand them and Really really internalizing and being serious. That's the way you're in the trust and then being able to deliver something to them in to share with them. Hey I could help you with this. We can help you with us. And here's how we've done it and I've done it in the past and I think that just takes experience and you always curious. Curious guy and acquisitive person always curious. Curiosity was was one of my greatest assets in selling because I always wanted to know and that piss and vinegar that excitement people I I have to tell people. Don't take it the wrong way. Because I'm actually really sweat you do for a living. And once you've had a breakthrough that and it's not really. It doesn't from selling anymore. It's just learning verson anniversary. And Yeah that's another thing conversing right because most people forget to converse just people having a conversation most people just want to talk right because you really can't come up with good questions unless you are curious right. That's why this whole thing with the elevator. Pitch is kind of funny because people always ask me to go. So what's your elevator pitch and say? What do you want to accomplish? I got this. I can take it any different way. You want to go but I'm GonNa tell you this whole story. It's really the elevator pitches about how we can help three different ways of things that you might have an issue.

Failed to pay taxes? If you make more than $100,000, the IRS may pay you a visit.

"You have an outstanding debt to the IRS in a move that criminals have to be so excited about. They can't even stand it. The IRS has announced they are going to send revenue agents to your home or business to try to get you to pay the money that you owe the irs. Now this is people who haven't filed a return or haven't paid taxes they owe or potentially going to see a visit from the irs. Now the problem with that is that people who are Crooks See. This is a huge opportunity to impersonate. Irs agents and show up at your home or business with a fake ID and fake demands for money that they're going to be randomize ing who they go after the crooks. You are probably somebody who doesn't even know money to the irs but it can be very intimidating if somebody shows up and says their revenue agent for the IRS and they want money from you so the IRS is targeting people who own their own business and people who make more than one hundred thousand dollars a year. But the crooks aren't GonNa go buy anything like that they're gonNa go after anybody and pretend that they're an irs agent now the IRS says that they're going to highly train these people who show up in person demanding money from you the IRS. Also says that they're not going to require that you buy any kind of gift cards or anything like that to pay the IRS. And you should know anybody who says that. Virtually any of the scams we deal with now that that is an automatic tip off that somebody is a scam. Stor where they say. You're supposed to buy some kind of Gift Card or Green Dot Card or whatever so. Your utilities aren't shot off or whatever it is or that you're in trouble with the court and you're supposed to know that that is scam. Stir one a one and if you're visited by somebody who pretends are actually is an irs agent. One way you'll know is a real irs. Employee is not going to demand that you turn over cash right then then. I can demand that you buy any kind of gift cards. And here's the other thing the. Irs has shows so short staffed that the number of people who actually be visited. Bilo jet IRS AGENT IS TEENSY. Teensy teensy tiny so no that somebody showing up. The odds are going to be overwhelming. That it's a scam. Stir impersonating the. Irs out a real agent. A real agent will try anything to get you to write a check to the US Department of the Treasury. They're not going to be trying to get you to hand them over cash or anything else like that. And the IRS told a reporter with Detroit. Free press that they'll be presenting a lot of ideda people to prove they're really an irs agents will what garbage that is because criminals. Play that game as well. So the most important thing whether it's a legit visit or much more likely fake visit. Don't be intimidated by anybody. Even if it's a legit visit the. Irs has a job to do a nasty job but going and knocking on people's doors. I think is wrong. Mean and stupid

"Kate Bilo with us on reporter's roundup. This one person's account makes you any less likely to believe the stories of victims probably going to believe in the first place from the Justice malade case what prosecutors called his faults. Police report of a racist and homophobic. Pag covering this part of the story. Just a doodo, Justin. You learned that small. Let's taste highlight some serious issues when it comes to reporting those hate crimes in the salt. That's absolutely, right. Steve. Well, we'll start with a two seventeen FBI report. They found out that more than out of more than fourteen hundred Pennsylvania police agencies only twenty three of them have even reported hate crimes, and I talked to some experts in the community about why they think that might be I talked to Alexander Ulsan with the liberty city Democrats. And he said, there's there's a number of reasons that might might happen. He said one is people in the LGBTQ community are scared to come forward because they could face repercussions after workplace. He said also they're scared that if they don't have enough enough evidence, they won't be believed in another is if they take it to a police force that does not friendly with the community. They will be looked at. They will be looked at in a negative light in their case will not be handled. All right. Thank you. Justin, Justin Trudeau with us on to round up another delay in the guilty plea from the man accused of. Raping and killing fourteen year old grace Packer or suburban bureau chief Jim Melwert covering that story and joining us on roundup gamma. What's the latest on this yesterday were a few days into this on Tuesday? Jacob Sullivan was in court. He admitted to the facts before lunch of of the the rape and murder of grace backer. Then after lunch the plan was being finalized where his rights were explained to him. What rights he was giving up how the guilty plea works. And as part of that he was asked if he's on any medication. He said he is, but he had not taken his blood pressure medication that day and not long after that. He was complaining of of not feeling well and had to go to the hospital because of a spike in that blood pressure yesterday, of course, was washed out with the weather. He was back today. And after about an hour again of having those rights and how the plea works explained to him. He complained the headache. Now, a Representative from the sheriff's department told the judge that he that Sullivan initially refused medical treatment. He just wanted to take some aspirin. But they. Call it a rescue squad blood pressure was to twenty over one forty. So they took him back to the hospital. So is supposed to be back in the morning to try again. Jim what happens after the plate? Now. Once this plea is finalized. They'll start picking a jury that jury will have to decide as part of this plea is first degree murder. So they'll have to decide whether he should get life in prison without the possibility of parole or if you should be sentenced to the death penalty. Thank you, Jim Melwert with us on reporter's roundup.

"Kate Bilo is in the weather center for you just how cold are we talking? We are talking very very cold. We are talking if you were planning on keeping your Turkey outside to let it thaw bad plan because temperatures on Thursday likely not going to get above the freezing. Mark. And in fact, we may not even get above thirty degrees all day on Thanksgiving Day. Let's take a look at what's happening out here. We'll take you through the setup right now. There's not a whole lot going on. We had some lake effect snow showers try to drift down towards the Poconos this afternoon, the lake effect machine is kind of shut off a little bit now. But our next front kind of this cold Arctic boundary can see we've that north west wind pushing over the Great Lakes that's going to dive through our area by tomorrow evening. And that's what's really going to usher in this blast of just insanely cold air for this time of the year. Temperatures well below average. We're talking almost thirty degrees below average on Thanksgiving Day. Now, it's not balmy out there right now by any stretch of the. It's only forty one in Philadelphia forty in Allentown thirty-seven in reading and thirty nine in Lancaster, the whole month has been below average so far, but we're going to take it to a new extreme on Thanksgiving Day. This is the cold that's headed our way with temperatures only in the twenties and low thirties and cities like Pena in Chicago Minneapolis of thirty three. It's even colder to the north. And this is all rotating south and eastward as we get into the next few days. It's the polar express big cold Canadian high diving southward now as we head into Friday, it's gonna start to back off at least a little bit. But the worst of it is of course, Thanksgiving Day. Because of course, it is Arctic high pressure builds in highs only in the twenties on thanksgiving single digit wind chills possible in spots early Friday now.

"About our starter Mer systems. Now we're going to buying and selling. Do you want to body or do you going are? So we selling my good friend. Let's go by all right. Who you been David Johnson really with the news that their offense according to has been fired. I think his view I think is production could only go up from here. I think you could get him at a discounted rate. I just believe in the talent too much too. I mean, he's been, he's been okay, like his worst game. I mean, even last night eight point, five like, yeah, you want more than that, but you'll live with that, you know? So I like David Johnson is a Bilo candidate. There's not very many running back centre as talented as him that you can get in fantasy right now because most of those guys are performing because they're on more competent. Ball teams, but. You know, he gets to play the forty Niners the next game. He gets the played the chiefs, the game after that he gets play the raiders the game after that these are favorable matches for David Johnson. So I say, go out and get them. Okay. Well, this is might be Ted exaggeration, but I'm going to go and buy Duke Johnson. Oh, not David, but Duke. But yeah, Duke. He's available in some leagues, forty, four percent in ESPN thirty, seven percent in yahu. He's wanting more his, he's he's not doing that. Well, average wise, but he's asking for the ball more. I think he's bound to get some more snaps and I think he could break out at any any game. Yeah. I mean, if he's, you know. If he's on a team, he might be somebody that you can get for some maybe a player that you're gonna drop anyways or something. Yeah. Yeah, that's why I'm saying I could buy him because they get him for cheap. Yeah. So I mean, he's available and have the league. So that's pretty cheap. My next by Doug Baldwin jug Boca. He's on a BI week. So oughta times people think always on a by, like I can get rid of them or whatever. Like outta sight outta mind, six catches ninety one yards against the raiders. He looks like he's getting back to being healthy and he sing thirty percent of the targets in all three games that he's been able to play this season. That's a really high amount, Russell Wilson trust him. And yes, tyrod walk it. And David Moore have caught touchdown passes, but I liked Baldwin. You might be able to get him for cheap as somebody some owner might be really frustrated with him. I mean, on the year he's got like twenty fantasy points. So Doug Baldwin Bilo candidate. I'm talking about a why does he also, but he's been injured for the whole row lot of the season, but he came back strong last week marquees Goodwin. Yeah. He could be devastating like you could probably get them for cheap at the moment. He played really well last week against the healthy forming. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Like he he's not been the healthiest player, but when he's healthy, he's been playing very positive. He's very quick on the field. He gets those deep passes. Shannon loves to use them. I think this is a great pickup because he's only sixty seven percent taken. Yahu is sixty four percent DSP and you could probably train them for a good deal. And one thing that you should also know is that the forty Niners defense is not good, so they're gonna have to be throwing a lot of these games. So when the TV is lucky, you gotta go with the offense aside and see what they're gonna do. And I think Markey's Goodwin can is go to player on that offense aside for the San Francisco, forty Niners. My last by candidate is Jordan. Howard Chicago Bears. He's had a tough season definitely has not performed well, but we're talking about a guy that's going to get the ball fifteen to twenty times a game..

"And meteorologist Kate Bilo has been tracking Florence since the beginning. She joins us now to tell us when Royster from the storm will make its way here Kate Jessica, it's going to be a while. We're going to be waiting for the moisture from Florence to lift up the eastern seaboard because of a big ridge of high pressure. That's planted over us during the weekend. That's actually keeping Florence. Off to the south, and it doesn't have anywhere to go. This system is moving very very slowly. Usually these storms hit they move inland. Pretty quickly and that mitigates the flood threat at least a little bit. But this is similar to what we saw with Harvey in Houston last year that storm made landfall and kind of looped back around and just stayed for Dave, and you can see the rain is not letting up over portions of eastern and central North Carolina right down into northeastern South Carolina as well. Tonight in some of the heaviest rain right now coming down just north of Jacksonville Kingston over toward Fayetteville Wilmington also seeing some of those bands of heavy rain. Lawrence made landfall at seven fifteen this morning. It was a category. One hurricane rights Bill beach maximum winds at ninety miles per hour. Florence has now been downgraded to a tropical storm. But notice as Courtney just told us the lack of movement, it's moving west of just three miles per hour. And that's going to keep it in the Carolinas right through Sunday. Very very slow movement with heavy rain continuing right into Sunday. And then that's one. Continues to lift in and we may get into some of its moisture this right here is Tuesday. So coming up, we'll track just how much more rain Florence could drop before it's out of here. And what it means for our our area next week. You Jessica, thank you. And with more than a million people evacuated from Florence's path some of those evacuees made their way to Atlantic City where an offer for free ocean front rooms became their refuge Alexandria center with how one family from North Carolina is riding out the storm and a boardwalk hotel, Alex whole,.

This part of that He goes coach Doug Peterson on the process of putting quarterback Carson Wentz back in the mix, as. He recovers from last season's knee injury joining us. KYW medical editor Dr Brian mcdonagh Brian the question so many eagles fans are asking. Will Carson Wentz be able to play in that. Season opener Steve it was? Game thirteen where he suffered the? Injury, we've had an entire, off season and, he's been working as hard, as he could and so the obvious question is, will be ready is it a. Good thing is it not a good thing obviously for most of, us the average person the, answer, would be no because you really, need a longer period of time especially for? That kind of stress but you're talking about a, professional athlete and with a professional athlete there can be some differences Brian given your experience in these matters what's your sense. As, to win wince return I've. Been doing. This for a lot of years and. I see patients every day I would, never predict whether. A professional athlete will. Get back because again of the differences Secondly I don't see their results we don't We're not we don't have access. To the MRI is and to really see how. They're doing and if I? Just go on past experience I? Never, would have thought Carol, Owens would have, made the Super Bowl years, ago and there are dozens of stories like that, so the question really comes down. To is the doctors for the eagles know best the player's gonna, do the best they can, and, since they're such major investments these, players are worth millions of dollars I don't? "The biggest and that it fell apart fegelein but insurance company abbas bilo on both sides of the aisle and more of a lot it up so let's talk about that because what it is each of the fifty states were regulates their insurance industry themselves so under a because there was never before the affordable care act national wise to health care the ability to sell across state lines was controlled by the fact that the states had control over their own insurance so what you're saying is we want federal supremacy in this case and we want to exercise the commerce clause and say yup state sorry state of california you don't get to control what insurance how insurance have this gonna be federalized in that's what we're gonna do i agree with you that's the way to bring costs down but do you really think california wants to give up that control to the federal government i don't think they can make a albrecht art that will only a public opinion over if they did all right so i mean that is that is one solution and i by the way have argued for that i think it's i think that's detrimental that from a simple cost perspective might my concern though is when i say i blue cross you don't need a specific california uh you know there's anthem blue cross here in california every state has its don't blue cross because of the way we've set of insurance unit in the united states i'm concerned that those ensures can was just pocket the bureaucratic savings and never pass it along the consumer that's my fear when i look at that solution is that they just talk at the money what's what's to prohibit them for pocketing and and just tank too bad we're going to keep it so you know what i'm saying though on that dan it's it's it i see that as a problem ideal but there's a large portion of a company that multiple bait but offered rip policy all their employees while today still but they still have to know but they still have to comply with each state's rules and regulations so that that's where he is so i've i've worked with some of those companies over these i agree.
