Because Kurt Melas just said it Weekends. This is w your answers, Kirk knowledge, checking to see if the weekend will be wet. Find my kids. Yeah. Wow. It's good to have some of tibia dressed. All right, I'll shut up. God. I made a bad mistake, Tim. Just in case I got you if you decide to go off the rails if he goes crazy You got to get that for me because I'll say the s word any second. Not if you want $500 in about, um 40 minutes or so. You only have 40 minutes left. I take off 25 think she's told me to shut up. Okay, shoe? Oh, yeah, She just doesn't want money. This is why she's gotten. Did you hear that? She's going to be 40 next year on this date. I heard this is why she's gotten this far in her life and she's you know, Do I pay the phone bill or buy another bottle of vodka? This is why she's at this point in her life expectancy of she likes to push it. Well, It's not just vodka. It's everything. Tequila, tequila rum. She puts it all together. She calls her autumn. So drink. Yeah, It's like every kind of alcohol together and then you know, then she calls and she complains and says she needs another month. You know, on the rent. And this is the reason why? Because she she will bite the hand that feeds her. She will go after the Federal Communications Commission and she will talk them. I thought you looked that though. You know, I'm that's when I was younger. That's when I was younger. And I had just a nibble. I'm not like heading down. Let me tell you something. What happens when when 40 comes down? You have to start realizing that there's not as much runway out there. God, you're so right. There's only so much so much time to make money. She's kissing my ass. Give her an extra fish. No, no, no, That's good. It's working. It's working. Keep on going. Yeah. Get that smoke machine out. Here's my rear end. Let's go. Yeah, that's a great one to I mean, Honestly, if I could have something like that, that's a lie. I have no assets would take 50 events can't take over the top lies. No, I like it like that. Yes, I am. You know what else is good about me and ship could just pick me up it don't say that name because I right now I don't have that I don't have you know what's good looking about me because they're not much. But, you know, good look good Looks are about cemetery while we go to help the symmetry the moon face, But no, The face is not where the good looking part of Erich von Hassler is. It's certainly not the most impressive Part of Erich von Hessler. But the symmetry is that yes, I do have long legs, but my torso and my legs. Are about 50 50 there about equivalent, you know, you see those people and they're like they're all laid like Conan O'Brien. He's like all legs and no torso. But he's really tall, like those guys in the fifties of the pants up over their chest. Now that the the Conan O'Brien long legs, no torso, but but you're tall that leads you to be a comedian. It's like, okay, he's kind of goofy looking. He's funny. It's It's fine looks like is on stilts or something. The weirdest one is the people, whoever along torso and not much legs, but they're still tall. Yeah, Those are circus freaks. But Eric von Hessler, you're very proportional. Thank you very much. "What was the last contact you saw before the pandemic live in person? 123 1 on 1.5. If you want to throw in, it's up to you. If you want to throw in an opinion, whether right now today if there were an indoor full capacity concert, would you be comfortable going to exactly what? I was really surprised that most people would not Walter in Toms River? You're on New Jersey One of 1.5. Hey, what's up, guys? I would definitely go to a full long concert. My last one. It was Bryan Adams and Billy Idol, which was phenomenal, actually won the tickets from a radio station. Arm. And I also been toe like hundreds of concert. So we'll wait. Go, no matter what. That last one, uh Bryan Adams and you, said Billy Idol. Correct what? What month was it last year? That wasn't like August last year, so always. Oh, so this had to be out of state. Obviously. No, no, I was at the Art center, The last concert at the Art Center. I think it was late August early August. Maybe they were doing shows there then. Yeah, last year before the pandemic. It was a show before the pandemic. Okay, that was well, then. That was August of 19 them because the pandemic was happening. Yeah. You mean okay, that that makes sense. Okay? Yeah. You saw them the same month. I was seeing back. Out in Queens then so who was opening? For whom could I ask or wasn't even the idol open for Bryan Adams? They were best. Phenomenal. I mean, old guys, they were phenomenal. Yeah. You know what? I never saw Adams, but I saw Billy Idol Hey, was already you know, past his prime, but obviously he was 20 years younger. I saw him in, I guess was 2003. It was in a place called Royal Oak Music Hall in in Michigan, and it was like a smaller place was probably like a four or 5000 seat place. That was one of the best concerts I ever saw in my life. Man, Billy Billy Idol put on credible show. Yeah, he did. It was really good and one Bryan Adams came out. He said I'm gonna play as many songs as I can remember, And he did put a lot of us gets and everything that you know people were singing along. It was really nice. Cool. Yeah, well, too. Thanks for your call. When you start Billy Idol did he still have the snarl attitude type thing He did. And you know what? I really think it's pretty natural with him. Yeah, yeah, from from the few times like, did you ever see Did you ever see him? Interview? There's kind of a famous interview of him with David Letterman Back when this was like in the eighties, there was no this is like in his prime and It was almost funny because he seemed like genuine punk, you know? And the started talking about women, and he basically was talking basically talked. How slutty American girls. Yeah, Yeah, like I don't think it's an act with Billy Idol. So, Yeah, he was snarling up a storm. Simeon Howell. You're on New Jersey one on 1.5. Hey, How you doing, guys? Longtime listener and first time caller. Hey, welcome. Thank you. Thank you. Who'd you see on Gwen? Was February 29th of 2020 Down in Atlantic City Broadway hall. I saw a Boardwalk hall I saw came Brown. Okay, Here's all I know about cane Brown. Young guy. I think he's probably still in his twenties, and he kind of came up from social media music, right? He started off doing like binds and yeah videos and in court attention, like we'll say, Luke Homes kind of came up same like and he's kind of country but not entirely. Yeah, absolutely. And the only reason he even rings a bell with me because I I'm I really don't know his music. But wasn't there one really funny title? Something like I used to love you when I was sober or something like that. Yes, Correct? Yep. That's the only reason I remember this guy because I thought what a perfect country type that is. Epic. Yeah, Yeah. All right, Cindy. Thanks. It's funny how many people are calling in that they saw show literally right before all the shutdowns happened..

"I not Billy Idol became popular. I went to my hair cutter person. I said cut my hair like Billy Idol diet. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. A lot of shameful things in your past, just shaving that. Why say shame? Was that shameful? Jacob? That's not shameful. I will have to go bragging. I'm bragging. That was a brag. I look like Billy Idol wasn't a humble brag. Go over that she would What? You never been never been inspired by something like that. So it's It's just It's very spiky. Right. I guess that was was spiking. And then they died it. Yeah, Okay, Then I look like sting for a while there. Okay. Anyway, They're all going back and getting married because everybody had to delay because the government shut everything down. But love could wait. And now couples are racing back in the U. S wedding industry says that those were postponed are now coming back and back stronger than ever, And here they go, and they're forced to have to get married. On a Monday. Well, grandpa, We're kidding, Jacob because his sister got married on a Monday and we're giving him a hard time. He's no, actually, that was intentional. It wasn't to decide, you know is as AH, response to the fact that the weekends we're all full up. It's actually kind of interesting article. It makes perfect sense that weddings are booming because You have everybody that was going to get married. They say half of all couples that we're planning on getting married in 2020 postponed it. So now you have these venues are being fought over by everyone who postponed their wedding. Plus all the people that originally it always intended on getting married in 2021. Then they said, they're actually people that got married in 2020 via Zoom. They were like, zoom weddings and they've decided they're going to go ahead and have they're having the wedding. So basically you've got two years of weddings crammed in Seo venues in a single year, and there's no room for anybody at the end, so to speak, Uh, Ritter Farms, which is right up the street from me, Tom. They've got a barn and they do barn weddings and they were all canceled last year they could not know And now they're all coming back again and looking him up. And now people are fighting for those weekends, and there's only certain amount available. I guess the thing is that people now that states I thinks Washington and we still clamp down like no dancing. Are we still doing that sort of thing in Washington? I know that that was the case. We did a story. A couple weeks ago, the woman in past county ever she went to her wedding. And then the governor said no. So you had the band had to be separated by 20 ft Apart. You, couldn't it, Dan. Thanks to versus Faith based three where you can face too. You can't Pierce County went into phase two. I think God. Okay, so you you're allowed to dance and do all the other stuff again or the government station. I think I think so Within, you know, certain private, especially outside. That's a great thing about summer weddings, especially outside you can have a lot more. That little girl throw things that or problems, they said, Ah, lot of people those 2020 post moments. Ah, lot of people couldn't fit into their their groom and bride of fits in or they're concerned. Like In some cases, all they might have gotten gotten too heavy. There's this one instance. They cited The Wall Street Journal where this guy actually took the last year and really worked out an exercise. He lost £20 during the pandemic year, so he had to rehab. All of his Texan, Everything else refitted. They also said in terms of style, don't know how many people care about wedding dress fashions. But because of because of coming, especially in our show, right because of the coming out of this kind of borrowed year. They say that the wedding dress is our lot. Our lot sort of, um or over the top over the top gowns are much more popular. They used to be, because there's a sense of Hey, you know, let's really cut loose and party, so there's there's more flair in a lot of these people's weddings. I don't know if that.

The the the eighty singer Billy idol became an American citizen the picture that went viral waving American flag. Well, it just happened to be that he's a celebrity, but how many of us have stopped when it's in the newspaper. We see it on the news a fourth of July. There will be a swearing in party swearing in ceremony for new citizens. We all stop and applaud that are most of us do. I believe that we should be a place of refuge and asylum. But when you've got Syrian refugees that want to come here and they're being infiltrated by terrorists. Then the president says we need a better vetting process. He's right. I had to get on an airplane. And I'm going to get on an airplane to go home in a few days, you go through a different process now than you did pre-nine eleven as the terrorists have morphed their tactics. Our government has morphed it's in stopping the terrorist attacks and the bombs on planes and things of that nature. They changed. What we do on airplanes. How they locked the cockpit door. They do all of those things in answer to to try to be one step ahead of those that would harm us. But somehow now in this part this this process of illegal immigration. We're not supposed to morph and change how we handle things. So we've taken refugees in for a long time. Now, we know that the refugees infiltrating with the refugee or I'm sorry terrorists are infiltrating the refugees and coming to America, and we're not supposed to change our vetting process. We now know that there is a four hundred percent increase in our southern border of adults posing with children that are not theirs as families, but we're not supposed to change our vetting process based on the data that we know. None of that makes sense. Being a border state. I'll tell you another statistic that border patrol and ice keep track of the people that come north of the border, and there is a category called OTM's other than Mexicans. It's people crossing the Mexican border from other countries. And of course, you get central and South American countries, but you get the communist Chinese across the Middle Eastern terrorist states and their their statistics you can find. The question of whether or not we should be doing something is a no brainer. But when you constantly hear in the media that this is just a racist agenda. This has been going on for five presidents that I know of in my lifetime. When is congress going to be held accountable to write some kind of a law? That gives real teeth to border security, and it gives a real immigration program that people can live with make it easier for good people to come and make it harder for bad people to get here. Easier to do it legally much harder to do it illegally. That seems like a no brainer to most of us. Talk about education, the lack of education in American how it's affecting our children how it's really affecting our future. I I have the privilege of speaking in high schools quite a bit narrow Zona. And I am always my faith is always renewed in youth when I talk with them. But what are we doing about education is that money? That's really the issue. And the reason why I want to bring this up. It's been a big issue in my home state. But I think nationally this is a big big.

We now know that there is a four hundred percent increase our southern border of adults posing with children that are not theirs as families, but we're not supposed to change our vetting process based on the data that we know. None of that makes sense. Being in a border state. I'll tell you another statistic that border patrol and ice keep track of the people that come north of the border, and there was a category called OTM's other than Mexicans. This has been going on for five presidents that I know of you know, in my lifetime. I have the privilege of speaking in high schools quite a bit. And I am always my faith is always renewed in youth when I talk with them. But what are we doing about education is that money? That's really the issue. And the reason why I want to bring this up. It's been a big issue in my home state. But I think nationally this is a big big big issue immigration and before.

"Most of us applaud that not too long ago. The the the eighty singer Billy idol became an American citizen the picture that went viral waving an American flag. Well, it just happened to be that he's a celebrity, but how many of us have stopped when it's in the newspaper. We see it on the news a fourth of July. There'll be a swearing in party a swearing in ceremony for new citizens. We all stop an applaud that are most of us do. I believe that we should be a place of refuge and asylum. But when you've got Syrian refugees that want to come here and they're being infiltrated by terrorists. Then the president says we need a better vetting process. He's right. I had to get on an airplane. I'm going to get on an airplane to go home in a few days, you go through a different process now than you did pre-nine eleven as the terrorists have morphed their tactics. Our government has morphed it's in stopping the terrorist attacks and the bombs on planes and things of that nature. New screeners take off your shoes put your laptop at another compartment show us your cell phone that it works all the things that they do to try to be one step ahead of the terrorists. Air marshals. They changed. What we do on airplanes. How they locked the cockpit door. They do all of those things in answer to to try to be one step ahead of those that would harm us. But somehow now in this part this this process of illegal immigration. We're not supposed to morph in change how we handle things. So we've taken refugees in for a long time. "And it didn't make a dent in the political system. Margaret Thatcher got in that was scary. You went, fuck all that shouting. Nothing happened. It was demoralizing. I didn't see it as betraying anything at all. I saw it as moving on as an artist. I didn't think about anything about following your heart, and that's what punk about. Granted, that's a lot of different thoughts from you know, our beloved, Billy idol, but and he's expresses it a few different interviews. Like, you know, we did all that shouting and Margaret Thatcher still got in. And I think people who are either artists are involved in politics or. You know, have some kind of like Galateri in political optimism, no matter how vague when they invest a lot of energy and kind of. An artistic movement or like we'll be liberated through. They ultimately get very disappointed. And I remember remember like occupied dying. And I had been very like lucky to have read a whole bunch of political memoirs of old comedy. So I'm like, oh yeah, this just happens all the time, but a lot of really heartbroken by it. And you know we make propaganda, and I think a lot of really good. Music is is political and sort of generally if not didactic -ly. Political it. It's it's influential and and good for the the discourse if you will. But it's really weird to be like, like what is the role of the artist in politics? Billy might have had his expectations too high on sixteen when he started to. It's, it's always, I think you're always asking too much of our when you're holding it responsible for changing society because by itself it will never do that. And it's it's not. It's not really the purpose of it either. Just just like, you know, some people say like, oh, you've you. You know, you did all that occupy stuff. You're protesting downs Coty, and you know what did that get you? Well, I don't think they're the intention of protesting. Always has to be direct change or direct results for me protesting and be that in the form of, you know, collective action or in the form of creating art is kind of cathartic thing for me. You know, when when Trump got elected, I that night, I went down to Trump Tower. I screamed at it. I just kinda screamed at it as this like symbol of of everything that I thought was wrong with this country, and I wasn't really quite expecting to to change anything. It wasn't. You know it wasn't anything more than, yeah, and that's. That's a lot of times what being an artist is, and you know making are that you know, has some sort of. Critical conviction to it. I don't expect to change things on a grand level, but it's about it's, it's it's about my experience in articulating my experience to this moment into who I am in this moment and and and just kind of getting out of you at the same time that I feel at least I think now people more and more expect art and entertainment to answer for politics or change politics because people are so just so fucking exhausted and have largely given up on politics proper. And I think that they are channeling that energy more and more into asking entertainment TV, and our podcast or whatever to change the culture to respond to Trump or make it so that you know, this will never happen again. And if like only we have the right art or ideas being expressed in them that like that, that will. That will fix it. I mean, do you find that to be true? Yeah, I think what you're saying. At the end of the day, what's really going to change things is I guess you know the way people vote and spend their money and, and the way people kind of talk about, you know, actual the ways that you know. Terrible decisions right now are affecting so many people, and it's it's, you know, our culture is it's it's a wonderful thing, and it definitely helps us, you know, get through our lives and even, you know, it can even add a nuance to these things that we see happening, but we can't solely rely on it and we and we, I don't know. We can't hold it up to this kind of standard of of, you know, it needs to. There was never a chance punk was going to stop that. You're. Right? It's just it does seem like a weird thing..

"And it was before motion cap so the way steep put it he said you were sort of involved with the development and the creation of motion cap you're the first actor to be done that way so we revisit it it's such a long process i won't get into it but the the the movie you know i started we're roger cormon b movies as they were called uh and thank god for roger cornell as if he wasn't around i don't know how to get my foot in the door uh and through that uh those those early movies i did i eventually got an agent finally afternoon those movies and i did die hard to and then my agent once billy idol was involved in a motorcycle accident it created a an opportunity jim camera was looking then for an unknown he had billy idol set to do the t one really i did not hilde and billy had a motorcycle accident in um so jim started a search for an unknown which think about how smart this is because you didn't know me you didn't know me when i saw all almost no but when you saw me in that character right yeah yes yet i know preconceived notions no baggage and that's that's the thing that's where to me it's tricky is on the one hand you wanna savage yourself it's important to establish your some now you get career and everything else but there's something about the first time people see could it you'll know you they don't know you be anything and they anyone and they will accept you on that character and it really enhance that movie um the fact that uh you know people saw it were just had no idea who are was word that guy come from and um.

"Right and if i used billy idol like on purpose deserted talk about the religious conflation that goes on did you read you with any of this is wise is like not awassa right like you don't really billy idol is not object of worship however when he appears in the wedding singer it's like as a as a day of sex mocking quite literally quite literally in the in the not literally but in the sense of the term in the theater as in like he is literally the essex mocking up because he is like put on the camera to to like eighty shows up in the scene to fix the relationship between arab sandler andrew berry moore's characters in that movie but the idea of like i've heard billy idol songs for as long as i've lived billy idol is this sort of presence that seemed to be kinda made into an icon and not really so see with a person white wedding is something that's almost two pure for any one person to what come up with i i don't like sit down with like a friend working on a project and being like oh yeah we should right white wedding it reminds me of was a trait einstein's either the fish guy always gives last name wrong when i talk about this in the pockets to bunch times over the years this great interview he did where he said the one thing he wished he done is right a number one song tried to go home and right mambo number five you can't it's impossible right and so these sort of transcended pop culture personages in moments s i feel like they do get kind of they become like saints or god's and that the become objects of worship and they become they become treated more like divinities than people and that's part of why you might think like wow i don't feel comfortable.
