There is a lot of confusion or difficulty getting appointments, and that is prompting state lawmakers to create an oversight group and make this better. Maryland Senate president Bill Ferguson says there's a need for a panel to push for more accountability. On the state's efforts to get people vaccinated to protect them from the coronavirus, he says. Right now, there are unacceptable levels of confusion about vaccine access, Administration and distribution. So what does he want? The state of Maryland and the Department of Health to do? I don't think there is one specific answer. There is no question. This is a very challenging logistical puzzle. Still, Ferguson said, there is a need for oversight with the Senate panel that will look at efficiency. Wait times for vaccines and House of Ply and demand is being managed. Mike Ricci, Communications director for governor, Larry Hogan, said the governor advised that given the demand for the vaccines, the process would take time.

Excuse me, Bill Zim for Bill before we talk about new arrest being made even though protest over the weekend for the most part, did not. Materialize. Capitol buildings across the country are still under scrutiny. Absolutely. And there will be tight security everywhere across the country, and you're right. Fortunately, over the weekend, there were very few really incidents and very few protesters. In most cases that state capitals across the country, you had more media and more law enforcement than you had demonstrators, the largest of which may be contained a couple of dozen people who remain peaceful, so That the good news But the security will remain tight at the state capitals across the country and other sensitive areas. As I mentioned, more arrests are being made any idea how many people have been arrested in? Maybe how many have been identified but not arrested yet? This is expanding exponentially, Charlie. We we think a roughly 100. People have already been arrested and charged in connection with the January 6th events of the capital, including Some of the faces. We've all become familiar with from those videos. We've all seen there and we understand that there are over 300 active investigations underway in two others who may have been involved. The FBI is acting on over 100,000 tips they have received in the wake of this whole incident at the capital. So this is continuing. This will continue to expand and likely result in hundreds of arrest Charlie and those that are being arrested. They will be taken into custody and their local Jurisdictions and face arraignment there. But this is all being handled by the district, the U. S attorney in Washington D. C under federal charges which could result in jail time. S6 E2 - What does a normal transition from the military look like - FULL
"Welcome to we served now. What were we seek to answer. The questions. veterans and their families are already asking nuts as question is a simple one but the answer is sometimes really hard to find. The question is this. What does a normal transition from the military look like and in this episode will try to do my very best to answer this question. But i'm also going to be sharing the five steps to nailing your transition from the military and in fact i dedicated an entire chapter in my book called resolve dedicated an entire chapter to just this issue and these five steps which i've never shared outside of the book. I'm gonna share them with you here today. Oh by the way my name is ear perkins. I'm us army combat veteran husband to a beautiful wife. Father to two amazing kiddos. I'm the author of resolve which i just mentioned and resolve is a book. That is a step by step guide. That takes you the veteran through the journey of rediscovering purpose. Meaning and passion in your life after you've left the military and if you hadn't guessed on the host of this podcast now. I recently posed a couple of questions to our members of the post. Nine eleven veterans and families facebook group and the first question. I asked to veterans and the second. I asked to veteran family members as a hero. Those questions said veterans. What is one word. Just one now. What is one word. You would use to describe your transition from the military and then veteran family members. I asked them something very similar. What is one word. You would use to describe. Your family. members transitioned from the military. Now look i know. Only one word does not give a lot of room to explain but there was really a theme here with not just veterans but also family members and here are a few of the responses. And see if you can kind of pick out. The theme loss unprepared uncertainty anger. Hell frustrating confusing difficult. And that was just the veteran responses. Let's take a look at the family member responses chaos unsettling rocky complicated. Now when we come back. Let's see if we can unpack these responses a bit to uncover what that theme is and and learn if your transition for the military was just as normal as everyone else's stay tuned will be right back who am i. Why am i still here. I uncover who i was meant to be during my own transition from the. Us army the wounds of war especially those not visible continued to plague my heart through the pain of job loss. Diagnosis often. Crippling anxiety finally discovered the reason. I'm here on the earth. And i knew i couldn't keep it to myself so i wrote a book. Simply titled saw resolve is a book that is one apologetically faith-based step by step guide designed for maximum effectiveness in the context of a small group of other resolve provides veterans everywhere with things to help you step into your new life a life full of hope purpose and vision for the future to pick up your copy of resolve head over to courage to fight again dot com. That's courage to fight again dot com now back to the show before the break. We covered those single word responses from members of the post. Nine eleven veterans and families facebook group. And now i want to kind of dive in a bit and unpack those responses and hopefully once and for all answer the question probably all of us ask. Ourselves was my transition from the military. Normal was different was that the same wasn't normal. So let's take another look at those words loss. Hell complicated confusing frustrating uncertainty. You know honestly it just sounds really really rough in my own words that i kinda tag onto. My own transition is brutal now. I do everything in my power to include hosting and producing this podcast riding a book developing personal relationships with veterans serving on veterans nonprofit board. Do everything in my power. Everything i can to help veterans through the challenges of the transition. But what i found in all my. I'll say research for lack of a better term. Is that the transition is hard. Nearly one hundred percent of the time. I'm gonna say that again. The transition from the military is hard nearly one hundred percent of the time. Now that kind of brings up a follow up question right. Well what makes it hard. Is there just one specific thing or is it a combination of things. Now the truth is it probably is a combination of things. But i think there's one key element that makes the transition really really difficult and i wanna share a key insight with some practical steps that you can take on your own transition. But before i do. I want to take a quick detour here. So have you ever been driving down the road. And then you just took a short detour. Maybe you wanted to get a better lay of the land or you wanted to try out a different route to get to your destination. You're still headed your destination but maybe you just wanted a different picture. Maybe you wanted to take in the scenery. We're gonna take detour right now. Just a short little detour. And i want to detour into the meaning of the word transition. Now i don't wanna get all technical and bore you with just some definitions. But i think this is a really really key point so oxford languages defined transition as the process or a period of changing from one state or condition to another for example. I'm in the middle of my transition out of the military or use another way of use it as a verb. It is to undergo or to cause to undergo a process or period of transition for example for talking about a war time scenario. We have transitioned from a high intensity combat operations role to a support role in the community. Now why do. I even bring that up. Why even take this detour. One that address. A misconception about transitioning from the military and the misconception is this that the transition from the military is nothing more than just another event in your life. That's the misconception that the transition from the military is just another event. So let's take a look at some of those events in our lives. You're born that's an event you graduated from high school. That's an event you got a job. That's an event you got married. That's an event even if you've been married more than once. Each marriage is another event. You had a child. That's an event you had another child. That's another event. So all those things i just mentioned are all single events. You don't have the same child twice. you don't get the same job twice you. Don't get married to the same person on the same day twice. So all of these are single events. And there's this kind of expectation that the transition will also be just a single event in the transition or rather the end state or the end goal that we're shooting for is not even clearly defined so when someone says transition from the military it can mean one hundred different things you ask one hundred people you get one hundred different answers. Since transition is not clearly defined in that context or another words. We don't even know what the target is. We're supposed to be aiming for. It's impossible to know whether we've successfully transitioned out so it makes sense. Then that people are saying gosh is hard. This is lost. This is hell. This is confusing is uncertain. This was brutal because we don't have any clear indication of whether we have been successful at it or not and the truth is transition isn't event but it's also journey so you do transition out when you hang up that uniform for the final time that's the event but you will continue to learn what you want your post military life to look like and that's the transition journey so now begs another question or another few questions is the target of the transition out of the military is the target targeted good job. Is it one hundred percent disability rating. Is it the approval to use vocational rehab Benefits for education. Is it something else entirely. What is the target when a service member leaves the military and frankly a as great as the cat program. Those transition programs the military are. I think that's where the military failed every single one of us. And i'm not trying to be the disgruntled veteran here because there's a lot of things that the military va do really well but setting us up for success in the transition is just not one of those and i think they failed us. Big time they said. Hey here's some benefits you could be eligible for. Here's some things you might wanna check out. Thank you for your service. Good luck with your life. There's no explanation of what your targets are or even should be so. I posed that question to you right now. How do you define transitioning from the military. What are the targets if you want to respond to send me message. Podcast at courage to fight again dot com. Let me know all right. So let's get back on track here. So i mentioned i wanted to share with you. One key insight into the why behind transition difficulty and i think the first and perhaps the most is what i just talked about in our detour. We're flying blind and we have no concept of the new target what it is where it is in fact. There's a quote in the book. I wrote resolve. That goes no one ever got where they were going until first figuring out where it was they wanted to go. I'm going to say that again. No one ever got where they were going until. I figure it out. Excuse me until first figuring out. Where was they wanted to go. I'm going to say that again. No one ever got where they were going until first figuring out where it was. They wanted to go all right. So here's those five steps. I promise you begin the episode step one. The and again these steps are key to nailing your transition from the military and these are just part of the resolve book. This is only one chapter step. One is cast the vision. Where do you want to be a year from now. Two years five years from now. Now mind this idea of you know where you want to be can fall into a variety of categories and maybe it's physical or career or relationships or va disability or post nine eleven gi bill. It could be a variety of things but one technique is to consider a single category. Let's take finance for example and let's say your goal is i want to be completely out of debt and i want to do that within five years now. That leads us into step two. We've we've got the single category that we're targeting one part of our lives or not being overly vague and saying i want to have more money are wanted to have more financial independence or i want to be a better person or went to be healthier. We're creating a specific goal in specific category over lives. And that's our vision right. I want to be out of debt completely out of debt within five years so that leads us into step to list out the challenges or the risks associated with achieving your vision of getting out of debt now for example maybe to use our example. We're in here. The financial financial say financial peace. That's daveramsey thing right To say like. I want to be completely out of debt within five years. Maybe you're living beyond your means right now or perhaps you and your family preferring higher standard of living so your normal expenses are higher. Nothing wrong with that but it could be a risk to achieving your vision within five years. Or maybe you've gone through a divorce in you're paying child support. Or maybe you're taking care of an elderly parent or an ageing parent so anything good or bad could be a potential risk to achieving your vision in the timeframe. You're lauding for it. I'm going to say that again. Anything good or bad could be a potential risk to achieving your vision in the timeframe you're allotting for it brings us to step three risk mitigation. There are several examples. I use in the book but what it boils down to. Is you sitting down either by yourself or with a group of other veterans who are also on this resolve journey. Where you're working through the book together but sitting down and coming up with a strategy of how you will mitigate those risks brings you to step four. Get feedback get feedback. Your perspective on your situation is unique. But it's only one perspective reach out to someone you trust. Share your vision with them and get their perspective on your vision and just a little side note. That is why the book resolve is created for maximum effectiveness in the context of a small group of other veterans. So you don't have to go out and search for those people you trust. You don't have to say men. Who do i ask you. Just talk to those who are going through the journey with you and finally step five experienced peace. Now i know it probably sounds like i'm over simplifying things a bit and into this more in the book but one thing i want to point out here is as we bring the show in for landing comparing your vision to someone else's is not going to help and in fact it could potentially make you even more uncertain about your own vision that you've cast for your life. Look where all different we have different skills. Different experiences different aptitudes in. We aren't all going to have the same vision and the sooner you embrace that the sooner you can experience the peace that comes from being your own path and making strides toward achieving that vision sir question today. Was your transition normal. Here's the answer if it was easy and you slip from wary uniform to not wearing a uniform with no significant issues. And you're like wow. This was great. Could couldn't couldn't have been better than no. Your transition was absolutely not normal but if it was hard like it was nearly every single one of us then yes. Your transition was absolutely. I hope this helps. I hope it helped answer the question. Did i answer the question. Did i not. What are your questions record voice memo on your phone and send it to podcast courage to fight again. Dot com more joined the post nine eleven veterans and families facebook group. And post your question there. We all have a lot of questions but the most important question we can ask ourselves. Is this have. I accepted the forgiveness of sins. Them only comes through faith in jesus price whilst you right back here two weeks from today and the next veteran question we'll be doing our best to answer is this. What is the. Va solid start program. If you liked this leave survive star review on. I tunes help so much until next time. Thanks for listening. We served now. What is a production of courage to fight again.

Biden’s first 100 days: What to expect on Covid-19, the economy and immigration
"Over the weekend ron claimed biden's incoming chief of staff south this memo that went into some detail. About what these first steps are actually going to be in practice. So in that memo the first ten days of biden's term he intends to extend the pause on student. Loan payments has been in place during the pandemic good extend moratorium on evictions as well rejoin the paris climate agreement. That's one of the first steps on climate change and rescind trump's travel ban on a group of predominantly muslim countries. Then there's also something clean is calling quote hundred masking challenge which i guess if they played their cards right on a branding level could be kinda like the ice bucket. Challenge in terms of the ice bucket challenge. Were selling themselves short. And i don't think that we should until they start in all seriousness. This one at least at first seems a little bit more symbolic it's going to include an executive action that basically codifies what we have now massing will be required on federal property and interstate travel all in all. His team is talking about a dozen or so executive actions on inauguration. Day alone yeah. Pretty busy day And then what's gonna come. After that. They have a lot of stuff planned. So second day biden is planning to sign a number of executive actions on cove nineteen specifically aimed at reopening schools and businesses safely and then expanding the nation's testing capacity day three is going to feature biden directing cabinet agencies to quote take immediate action to deliver economic relief to working families bearing the brunt of this crisis sound. Good not entirely clear what it means the stage probably find that i. They're hearing about it. Yes yes and then we could likely see more on climate change and immigration as well on the executive fronts and there are also reports of by team is going to propose a massive immigration bill. As soon as this week that would get sent to congress so yes just a few small things to get started on here but the main takeaway at least from the start is that they are going to be certain things within the realm of by direct control. And they're going to be others. That might more to statements of purpose. That would later require congress to actually get the ball rolling and pass something that dynamic is going to be extremely important as his term starts and they try to hit the ground running right and the cova. Bill is definitely going to rely on congress. So let's quickly touch on the vaccine plan. That biden laid out just last friday as part of that. Yeah so the top line goal that he had is one hundred million shots in the first one hundred days as we heard at the top of the show from his cdc director and that number didn't really sound quite as ambitious at the end of last year. And we thought that we'd be quite a lot farther along than we are right now but as it stands at the time of record we're looking at about ten to twelve million people that have been vaccinated in the us. Even with about thirty million doses. That have been made available and remember not so long ago we were talking about twenty million doses. Actually getting into arms getting administered by the end of last year so needless to say we are quite behind. It's gotta get picked up pretty quick so her yes so has biden thing that he can do this while he wants to use female in the national guard to build more vaccine clinics across the country with a goal of having around one hundred federally supported centers by the end of his first month the also talked about encouraging. All states to broaden their current eligibility to frontline workers and anyone older than sixty five which some states have already done but the idea there is to not have any doses going to waste by also talked about using the defense production act to ramp up actual vaccine supplies and then also make doses more available at local pharmacies. All very solid stuff but the issue. I think they and others are seeing is there are still just two vaccines with limited supply right now. So we're going to have to see how doable this all is over the next couple of
AI and the Evolution and Automation of Live Chat - with LivePerson CEO Robert LoCascio
"So rob. I want to dive in to the future of a and chat in the enterprise and the little bit of your journey there. But before i even do even ryan this company for quite some time when you guys started online chat in the ninety s companies public firm for twenty years. Here when you look to your business something. Like i don't know how many seventy or eighty million conversations you're handling in any given month when you look down at your business tried to find where. Ai could layer value for your clients. How did you think through that process. Because it seems like that's almost an endless There's almost an endless number of answers. They're basically looking at the data center. We do about seventy eighty million conversation month. I kinda you know that data we could take and look at how are use cases around banking and telco and and and retail and healthcare. These are big customer bases. Come from these verticals. How can we automate those conversations and so we basically just dove into the data we aggregated. The data looked at across customer. And we could see that there were patterns that made really good conversations. So that drove is to say okay. Let's build a host of tools and a new platform called conversational cloud in which we could enable large enterprises market customers to scale their conversation. Automate them and with the onset of covid the there was a massive massive impact contact centers the contact center agents help and nope he was there. They couldn't take calls so so they went home now. They're taking calls there and so there's been a massive drive to automation now because having someone work at home and answer calls just not the way to go. How do you automate that through a digital experience. That's really what's happened and obviously with the onset of covid firms like yourself or now in this position to potentially catch the opportunity to major way when you look at serve. What's potentially automated man even there so much to get into. I mean there's for each individual business that you work with you know maybe a work in with a one. Eight hundred flowers may be. You're working with us. The citibank guys work with some of the biggest companies in america here. The use cases are relatively bespoke And i know you. You worked on building a tool. That's at least understandable for nontechnical people. We definitely need subject matter. Experts to layer context and to structure or flow flows for these conversational systems. But you determine what the bounding box would be because even that feels feels endless and you need to kind of focus in somewhere yes we. We're all this under the header of commerce. And i fundamentally believe that conversation. Commerce is going to be the next leg of digital so we had ecommerce and now we're shifting see commerce and e commerce is is a very interesting thing when you think about like show up at a website and basically every website looks the same right. I mean top nab. Yeah data and google set those rules instead of you don't do that. We won't index you and that's why everything looks the same so what you're seeing is digital each brand doesn't have its own personality now with conversational commerce. You develop your own personality and you develop your own way to engage your consumers too like chapultepec. We had obviously during covid. What happened was people didn't want to go in and get a burrito and make They don't want to sit there for five minutes. Make freedom so chapultepec turn to us said we want to build an automation that somebody could come into their mobile device to any messenger front facebook. I message app and we want to configure a burrito and or whatever they want and they built. We built this Automation called pepper. It's called pepper and you can communicate with pepper. And then you show up at the door and the handed to you. And so that's the poultry. One we've got David's bridal which also people didn't want to come and people get married but do you want to go and sit in the store and try and addressing the one of the largest bridal companies in the world. We automated looking at different things for your body type for your style making an appointment. So you're the only one that's in that store. Don't have a crowd in the store. We built all that. This is just examples during kovin but every one of our customers get the ability to create a conversational experience. That's unique to them. And that's what makes commerce Yeah i i could certainly see the argument that linear text back and forth actually has potentially less less opportunity for really robust customization than you know. Really fancy dancy website. But but i get where you're where you're coming from. I think that there is like a. There's a certain flavor of the brand that you get from talking that maybe you wouldn't get from from a website and obviously what you're saying is that we can tailor that of course with a website. There's a lot we can do with color and features and video and whatever but certainly there's personalization on the conversation side. I could kind of see arguments on both sides there with respect to working with these big brands again. You're you're dropping some pretty pretty big names here. Names of almost everybody listening in has heard of what does it look like to set up these unique systems for them because obviously chipotle's use case which by the way feels very accessible. The number of burritos you can build is not unlimited right as opposed you guys work with delta airlines. The number of things i can complain about to my airline is. There's probably two dozen. You could tackle off the cuff. But but there's gotta be another four hundred that are just we're handing this to a human being but cipolla feels. Wow that feels like almost like dominoes. Chat bot was pretty popular. Winning hundred flowers was doing some stuff. Because there's only so many purchase options but when you go into different clients you got big airlines. You got these restaurant chains. What's that process of really working with them. Because there's got to be a bespoke build out part. You got your core platform you guys are able to use. You have a tremendous amount of data and a lot of staff obviously which it looked like to hop into these big brands and build out. Something that really drives value for our platform conversational cloud. We really broken into three areas in and around the three areas of need when you're looking at scale automation. One is the intent. We called intent manager in its technology that ingests all the conversations and then organizes the intense. So we talk about intense anti-business. What is it consumers. They haven't intention to do something with you. They want to buy something. They wanna customer care question answered and that's an intention and we call that technology intent so we organized the intense and it turns out as we all know. We all asking and attentively. So i may ask a bill differently than you do. But the technologists differences aggregate them. And then what you get to see a list of all the intense in your business. And what are the contents and where the mid level. I'm usually what we say. Let's go solve the top intense bam one and is thirty percent of all the voice calls. You're having
Biden to propose 8-year citizenship path for immigrants
"Shortly after he is sworn in on Wednesday president like Joe Biden is expected to introduce an immigration reform bill the first action Joe Biden wants to take his president is a bill calling for an eight year path to citizenship for some eleven million people without legal status in this country the measure would include a shorter period of time and path for the so called dreamers the young people who arrived illegally as children agricultural workers and people under temporary protective status could qualify more immediately for green cards if they're working in school or meet other requirements the bill would not include enhanced border security favored by many Republicans Biden allies and even some Republicans say immigration is a major issue where the new administration could find common ground with Republican leader Mitch McConnell and other GOP senators Tim McGuire Washington

2021 NBA Draft Prospects to Watch: Cade Cunningham
"You've been a lot of your assignment is covering the big twelve So you get that one really up close and i know this year especially it's been a little bit different from you because a lot of those broadcast have to happen from home but you also have gotten on the road and been able to see some guys as well and because you're in the big twelve it means that you've got a very up close. Look at the guy that i think if i'm not sure it's a consensus but it's close to a consensus that he's the number one guy or at least the favourite to be the number one pick in this draft cade cunningham. Tell me your impressions. Early on from cade. Well what. I do every season. Especially because i cover the big twelve so indep elite get around in a preseason. Watch practice chad. I was a little more difficult this year. Honestly because it cova. But i did get up to oklahoma state early spy watch them practice. And and we've also done three cake cunningham games now one in person and so i think i do have a good feel for me. First of all. He's he's a you wouldn't see a unique quiry actually fits the nba more than he does college. Because you don't know when you look at a kids. He's listed at six eight. I would say he's probably six seven to two thousand five great build great size greyfield for the game. I actually think he's going to be as we've said this before about kids it'll be a better. Nba player in many ways. Because the floor is going to be spaced. And he'll be around. I great talent on like at oklahoma state right now where he's the focal point of every single defense and trying to keep him out of the lane. It's to the point where the other night against kansas when they played great oklahoma state. Bill self rarely goes to his own and even more rarely goes to a triangle in two and k gave them so many fits in the first half. Get sixteen at the half bill. Self is both defenses in again so what is right. Now is a playmaking linebacker okay. He's a he's a he's a mansion. I'll obviously that's gonna fit well in the week because of his size. He is a great teammate. To the point really. I had said a number of times this year. He's almost too unselfish. Because when you're that talented on a team that's not that talented. He almost should take over more. But great passer With great vision an innate feel for getting teammates the ball at the right time at the right place. nba teams are going to love this guy. Now that regard his shooting is is certainly not bad at all. The shots not broken. In fact. I think he's gonna end up being a really good shooter in the league. If there's a complaint about him right now. And i heard you john menaced. He's not really an explosive athlete. We think of nba you know high level nba athletes. I almost compare him to the offensive. Version of marcus. Smart in other words. Would marcus brings to a team. Defensively cade brings to the team offensively. He's going to do a lot of things to help you win. I don't know if i would automatically say he's one pickle right now because there's a couple of guys at the top of the draft that i like as much but i think the consensus is correct. If you had a gun to your head today and you're team with the number one pick. He would be very safe. Fit for the reasons. I mentioned one
Small protests held at heavily guarded state Capitols
"Chelsea's Bellingham Square was evacuated this morning after some suspicious packages called the attention of first responders. On a medical call. Let's find out more from WBC's Kendall fuel. It was a pair of suitcases left out on a sidewalk down the street from Chelsea City Hall that sparked the response. Sitting side by side up against that lamppost, and the fight apartment in the ambulance had come. There's someone else and the suitcases were pointed out to the police department. That's Dan, a neighborhood resident who was among those cleared from the area as police closed shops and rerouted Busses and the bomb squad came in for a look. There was a squad of men. They approached the suitcases and they did what they did what they had to do. Within an hour, The scene was declared safe. The suitcases left on the sidewalk, People went back to their business. Turnovers Doom Saints in 30-20 NFC Divisional Playoffs Loss to Bucs
"Bill. I just want to dive into it here. Because there's a lot to get to after watching the bucks. Beat the saints. Thirty to twenty so new orleans had been in tampa bay twice this season in week. One about four hundred years ago and then again in november. So what was the difference in this game vs those other two. I really simple pablo the saints. Just didn't protect the football. In the two regular season games between these teams the saints won the turnover battle. Both times there are plus three in the week one victory and then one up in the rematch. Tom brady threw five picks across those two games. Only seven in his other fourteen games. That really felt like the saints had his number and they were gonna have to flip that to win in new orleans. Well they flipped. It didn't turn the ball over the saints coughed up. Four times including three interceptions drew brees. The bucks turned the first few takeaways and two touchdowns and use the fourth to wrap up the game and kneel down. It's virtually impossible to win a playoff game. That sort of margin the saints will just sloppy in this game. Mean breeze could have thrown four or five picks. He threw an awful interception under pressure for the first one and on the same page with alvin kamara on a scene route for the second interception. The third bounced off jared cook. Who also fumbled away a completion on a drive where the saints were looking at. Go up to scores. They lost the ball and proceeded to give up seventeen unanswered points to end their season. So clearly the bucks had a formula of sorts for stopping breeze in it seemed like every aspect of this game. But it's not just that they stopped him instead. They made him look straight up terrible really often and i'm wondering how did they do that to that degree. Well i really think that todd bowles bucks defense. Look the tape from last week's game against the bears look how drew brees was playing. Look at how pal those receivers were moving and just didn't think there was anybody in that lineup who could reliably win against man coverage or beat them down field with their speed. This was especially true. After the saints lost deonte harris who had two long punt returns early in this game to a neck injury the saints did get a long touchdown but it was not with brees on the field. It was the lone snap for one jameis winston who came in and use the same trick. Play the bears ran against them last week. For a long touchdown coming across his sanders they handed to them. Refers goes to jameson mega man. Wide open trade smith at the twenty five fifteen ten five and a touchdown saints and jameis winston. What a touchdown pass against his former overall when breeze on the field it was pretty clear at the game plan was to dare him and his receivers to try and take shots towards the sidelines and get downfield and the game plan worked the bucks used heavy doses of twists and stunts upfront create pressure and then just smothered breezes receivers. I honestly it really felt the only reason. Sean payton didn't bench breeze for winston on the last drive. The game is because it was probably a last few snaps of drew brees his career.
Buffalo Bills Fans Donate To Charity Favored By Baltimore Ravens QB
"For the first time in twenty seven years the buffalo bills are within a game of the super bowl. They will play in football's afc championship game. The bills beat the baltimore ravens. Who didn't score a single touchdown on sunday. This is a hard loss for ravens quarterback lamar jackson who got a concussion in the second half. Some bills fans wanted to cheer up the ravens quarterback so they did some research. Jackson played college football and louisville kentucky where he worked with the charity blessings in a backpack that organization works with kids whose families don't have enough food and so they rely on schools but covid nineteen closed the schools so getting meals to kids is not as simple as it used to be so. The charity has adapted. Our volunteers are the root of our organization. They're the heart of our organization and they've gotten creative and we are just determined to feed kids. Anyway we possibly can. Mickey grizzle works at the nonprofit and says that lamar jackson of the ravens still volunteers with them. He s the nicest guy with the biggest heart and buffalo fans are flooding the charity with donations to honor him who knew that the bills mafia the bills fan base were this amazing thoughtful philanthropic crew of fans so. It's kind of obvious who. Nikki will be rooting for in the afc championship game. We do not have an nfl team here but we're now all bills fan.

"Super bowl champions it's hundred percent right and they just feel like they're coasting just and i i can't get over the fact it's almost like they've done it in reverse to where last year they would get down early in games and then they would figure out a way to make a comeback in the playoffs and this year. It's been mike. They get up early on games. And then you go to the tampa bay game. They take their foot off the brake. Your take their foot off the gas you go to other games this season. Where they'll look they'll start off strong and then they'll just sorta coast towards the end of the game and it's almost like their mentality is. Let's just get through the season. Let's get this stuff over with and then let's get to the playoffs a really hunker down and yet here. We are and it's going to be three weeks before any of those starters of actually played legitimate snaps. patrick mahomes. That's as for straight outta vegas. Okay chiefs are the favor. We questioned their effort. Level bills are playing well as anyone only a half point worse but bills are only the third favourite pain a pretty nice seven and a half to one remember. It's not just how good the team is. It's how easy path is. I would make the case. Tampa bay is better than eleven to one. They just got a difficult pat. Go on the road gotta go on the road again. No doubt i mean. Think about what you'd have to do tampa to win the super bowl you win. A road game doesn't matter against who in washington is good. Pass rush so. I mean okay. Then you've got dan go to. I think the saints it would be and then go to green bay in theory then play super bowl against kansas city or buffalo. I mean i can't even comprehend it. Yeah having to play in limp. I think they've got to go to lambo. The in the semifinals of the order is so. Don't forget when you get to this time of year. It's how good the team is and like. We said the bills are right there with kansas city. And then so you think. Bill's favorite over green bay on a neutral by half a point. Oh now that's a lot of respect. Let's flip the coin. And let's look at the miami dolphins and to This was a tweet that i put out at our jane. Vegas you can vote. Tour was the fifth pick in this draft. If the miami dolphins traded him right now how much drive value would they get in return. And i give three choices more value slightly last value significantly less value. Jonas answer significantly less value. I mean were. They even get an end in the first round. I i may be. But i would be more likely to guess an early second rounder that significantly less value. Second rounder four percent of people. I think they're the drunk. I think things are going. Well no no because you could buy right now. Double is much for the same amount you spent two was as an asset has gone down anyone who thinks otherwise i think is wrong. The question is how much only takes one team to be excited about him. I watched some of that game. And listen i never. There's certain radio guys. Watch the games for eight hours. I'm ward watch the key parts key games and reading and researching style. I thought to look like third string quarterback. I mean just like his his. Maybe it's just a quirky through it. It feels like he never gets anything on the ball. You watch a lot more of the games and i do. What what's your eye test onto. I compare them to josh. Yeah they're planning lasers verses lobbyists and what a difference. I mean honestly if this guy you know what it reminded me of is when when i watched minhsiu last year couple of weeks into the high this is the guy doesn't look like his hand was big enough to hold the ball with minzhu jones. Were you seeing. It's he doesn't have the burst that kyla murray does. We're talking about back centre on. Yeah as a runner so you don't have that wow factor and he doesn't have even the arm of kyla murray. It feels like at times. And maybe it's he's left handed and there was a staff that there's only two quarterbacks in the history of the nfl that are left handed that are hall of famers. That was like a staff. That is i think. Steve steve young and maybe one other one that they were talking about. But it just. Doesn't you see herbert and you go. Wow that guy's dynamic he makes throws he's got all the ability of the world. You see joe burrow and there's something to them. Then you look to just talking about rookie quarterbacks and you just don't see that wow sort of blow you away with his ability at moments and i don't know if it's just the offense or it's the confidence of the ball. The offense see. That's what i'm saying. Is i can't judge if he's making the right read. You hear these guys on tv. They'll say aaron rodgers is not missing and it's like i. I have to trust that. If i know you tend to do. This is what i would advise you to do is when you know something. Let's say it's your team. You just know this backup linebacker. He's really good analysts. Say he's good. You can think okay. I can verify he's right on that. I'm gonna start trust in this guy more right. We each of us know certain amount of things for sure when we have analysts that we have to trust. We want to see if they agree with us. On the time we're sure and the nats analysts i tend to trust more and the analysts will say a lot of things about aaron rodgers. This that i don't know anything about it. But i know what i saw on the field if i was paying. You know how you walk up back in the day for me and you'd be at the basketball courts and it'd be a pick up game it'd be a lot of people there you never seen before and you know you you get to pick losers or whatever you're gonna watch a couple of shots and say that guy six three looks like you can jump. I'll take cam you make these quick assessments. Would to have got. i mean. Imagine any quarterback the played yesterday if you were testing it for five. Plays is to a even. He's got to the bottom quarter the bottom quarter of the quarterback absolutely and he's a prima donna so in the road so you mean prima don one place summarizes. The playoffs are on the line. There in the red zone looks like to a might score makes a business. Decision goes down on the four yard line. Rj see now that's interesting because what was the scored his point. It was early in the game because a lot of people complain to was to regulus. So if you've been told again and again you can't do that. You're gonna hurt your hip again. It's hard to judge them to improve. madonna implies. He wants special treatment. Maybe he was. He's treat himself fragile early. And maybe that's smart right because of me most quarterbacks that don't do that we complain about it so all right last star jones. Yeah i just. I think they'll handling of. It was bizarre. I think the brian floors handling of.

"Game left and you know all that school the records this and that but you know plan to get three and give ourselves a change in the playoffs me much if we can get it done and we got our mindset bigger things and first things first week. Seventeen dollars a month. I mean that's the first time bill bell checks new england patriots. Eliza have been swept since nineteen ninety nine by the same team like that. I mean that tells you the dominance of what bill belichick and the patriots said. I understand the meema thrown the phone and all of us kind of secretly enjoyed it a little bit because well a lot of in boston can't seek secretly gotta talk about it because you know bills on the mount rushmore as he should be. I'm not taking away from that. But when you really look at what the buffalo bills have done. It's pretty monumental. i love it. The josh allen train has been one that i think is easy to jump on. I can understand if you're in the new england area. You probably do have to secretly enjoy the bill belichick phone throwing video. Which i actually didn't see till this morning and when i saw it on my twitter feed. I was like bill. Just you know treating that phone like all of us want to tweet. Treat two thousand twenty and he's just shocking it to the side and he is roy lee done with it. But i mean so much credit to josh allen right. I mean three hundred twenty yards four touchdowns last night. He's passed for throwing for over forty three hundred yards on the season. So far thirty four touchdowns to nine interceptions. I mean what they're doing is just not only fun to watch. It's working to and we mentioned as far as them. Being you know the big threat to the kansas city chiefs. who have gone into almost every season. It feels like since. Patrick mahomes being the favourite not only on that side but for the super bowl. If feels like the bills. Are there right now. We just put a poll up on. Espn radio's twitter. Page asking are the bills the biggest threat to the chiefs in the afc right now go vote. Vote in the poll. If you don't think it's the bills let us know who you think. It is but a lot of this is obviously circled around. Josh allen is important as well to remember that very serious look chase beacon. The first time rowling they play. He didn't start this way It was definitely a development. And i think sean mcdermott comments. On josh allens development as a quarterback are definitely interesting to listen to. He continues to take steps and his development.

"Bills looking dominant ever getting a huge win over the new england patriots last night. Thirty eight to nine was the final on monday night. Football and before we get into the patriots. Because i feel like that's where a lot of the conversation will shift in this one taylor as well what happened to the patriots. What's the future of the patriots. The patriots done. We can give credit to the buffalo bills because how dominant do they look right now. They feel like the team that if you ask me poses the biggest threat to kansas city right now what do you think yeah. I think that's the general consensus around the nfl in analyst around the league especially here at this network when you see how buffalo and their attack can get after multiple different defenses in this league. I think it is a legitimate threat to the kansas city chiefs. In the afc when you look at the swagger they're playing with you heard our colleague steve levy louis riddick. Brian greasy. Talk about when you're having fun. You play at a higher level. The buffalo bills were having fun last night. They were joining the first time sweeping the patriots. In a long long time. It might be longer than you've been on this earth elissa and trying to date yourself but neither here nor there but when you really look at the way. This teams played the way digs. His brought a real balanced to this attack. Their offense is firing on all cylinders. I don't think it's that far of a stretch to say. They may be the better team heading into the playoffs. We're gonna talk about the chiefs later on in the show but when you look at this buffalo bills team the way they're playing. I don't think it's that far of a stretch to say. Yeah they may be the best team in the afc hadn't into players you mentioned stefan digs. I mean the allen to digs connection is just like sick nasty. I could watch it every single weekend. And we do. He had nine receptions for one hundred forty five yards and three touchdowns last night. I mean if that's not one of the most electric connections in the nfl. I'm not sure what is one of the things that i have really enjoyed as the buffalo bills have had such a great twenty twenty is a lot of features on bills mafia. I don't know if you saw some of the Stories going into monday night. Football last night about just bills fans being like you know what if people wanna talk smack about us. We're going to back this up by donating to their charity of choice. I think it was nbc. Sports chicago who had tweeted something Making fun of bills fans and they were like okay. Yeah we're gonna show you and they donated to a chicago charity like come on. We'll remember what they did. Wasn't it with. Andy dalton if i'm not mistaken to the yet right they that's kind of how the bills mafia done listen. This is a team that i'm affiliated with because i've lost four. Mls cups and i was called a jim kelly of american soccer. And i say that because you listen to just a heartache. This team has been through. And that's why when you listen to josh allen after the game talking about what it means to sweep the patriots you of sit there and say this is a big moment for the buffalo bills on sound like a broken record budgets. It's number twelve.

"Buffalo patriots and this was a great one josh allen dance in his way into the playoffs visiting the patriots bills looking for the season. Sweep over the past for the first time this century and it started with a little bit of trickery. Four minutes left in the first quarter and look at that to kwan. Johnson taking the snap on the fake punt but bill stack in the box. But it didn't matter because watch just real smooth completing that. Pass keeping the drive going. How about that under one minute left in the first quarter fourth and one patriots forty three yard line allen fixed the hand off keeps informed software twenty two yard gain and the first down bills were having their away with the patriots in this game. After an here you go right here. You look at it. Allen dropping back dawson knox in their. Sorry zack moss. In there for the touchdown both bills lead ten three for the patriots score. Bills the ten nine fourth into on the forty three allen drops back. And here's the dawson. Knox keeping the first down three three on fort down in the first half. They entered monday with seven down. Tries few it's in the nfl that drive continues person. Go from the four allan with the play action. Finding smith in the end zone for the touchdown bills lead at seventeen nine and smith gets a nice little. Tackle buys line keeping them happy next bills possession. First and ten from the fifty allen drops back finding stefan digs at takes it all the way running by guys built twenty four nine heading the halftime and it was that kind of game and it didn't get any better for the patriots in the third quarter fills. I drive out of the hat. I intend on the patriots. Eighteen yard line allan fires gigs. And yuck walks right. In for the touchdown second touchdown catch the game for dig balentine. Jim kelly for the most touchdowns in a single season in bills history. Those thirty one the nine and then fourth quarter first and goal. He's gonna break jim. Kelly record on this play right here. Stefan digs third touchdown catch of the game and watch it again flex on that one bill bell not happy because watch it again and to strike and this combination between alan digs working to perfection right now and these guys were all smiles after the game. Maybe wait wait. You think josh allen the mvp stefan percent especially mine vp. Yeah right definitely for them. Goals brought to you by subway and the tandem josh allen and stefan digs set a single season franchise records in passing touchdowns and receiving yards last night. Giving buffalo twelve wins for the first time. Since one thousand ninety three thirteenth win would be tied for the most in bills history.

"A long long long time in. Somebody's been consistently talking about the buffalo bills like that but it's their years just a matter of time they're gonna win the afc east and a stranglehold. The pats had on it is done. Can they strangle and take down the steelers sunday night. That would be pittsburgh's second straight loss. Keyshawn j. will zubin presented by progressive insurance j. I think it's pretty darn obvious here. The statement that the steelers have made the nfl's last undefeated team eleven o dropping that one of the washington football team but i think we kind of know where they are with their history and their quarterback multiple lombardi's but you think this could be statement game for the bills i do just because look i have all the respect in the world for mike tomlin and the steelers but if you look at their past two games i know they haven't had james conner but i think the lack of running has put in a situation where he has to throw the ball ton means how to fifty throws the last two games against the enter loss loss to the washington football team. I think this plays into the style for the buffalo bills. I mean look the it's going to be a shootout teams are going to throw the ball a lot. Just coming off. The way josh. Allen has played in his last game seen the way big benefit out of the play. I just it feels like the bills. Have all the weapons and expose the explosiveness to actually compete with the upper echelon of that division you know in in j mitch and explosiveness and weapons and things that i'd nature on the buffalo bills offense side. That is true in his problematic for pittsburgh because it without a guy like bud dupree and the lineup. The linebacker who they lost a couple of weeks ago to an acl. When you when you look at that in devon push not being a lineup. That team still has widened still cam. Heyward is still there. Still have some defensive players and joe haden mika fitzpatrick but that second wave of defense with the linebackers or is problematic. The bills like to run a lot of deep crossing crossing routes things at a nature. That gets those guys in between the secondary a defensive line and when it with with the absence of those individuals ekit put pressure on the defense of the pittsburgh steelers. And so when you start to look at it you know you look at the loss to washington and you say to yourself well that was just a one off but these things can continue to happen if you're not taking care of business for buffalo. This has to be a signature winner. I know a lot of buffalo bill fans that are in the new york area. Probably telling me to shut up. I'm an ex player. And i don't see you know i get it. You want to build the win. I'd like to see them win too. Because i am good friends with brandon bean. Who used to be a one of our scouts. When i played for the carolina panthers so i'm rooting for them will gm. I'm rooting for him to do well. But i want to see a signature win much like the browns had the signature. Where against the tennessee. Titans that was like a quiz him now. They got the test coming up against the ravens at random out of the building. Now you look at okay when you look at the schedule of the winds and you only play the teams in front of you. The buffalo bills have one. You say well who have. They actually really beaten. That is like a juggernaut. It hasn't beat the rams but that was early on the ramps tried to make a comeback crazy game. It was a crazy game now. It's early on in the season in rams have gotten better since then you know they. So who have they like when you look at it like where do you point to that signature. Victory this on a sunday night in front of all of america. They have an opportunity to kind of show that we're not the bills of all. We've arrived this by default. Just because the new england patriots are not a very good football team. This year is not the reason that we're gonna win this division. We're gonna win this division because we're actually good. I'm just going to say i know. They have had like a signature signature win but still last weekend with the way they played against the forty niners. The fact that josh allen west thirty to forty Forty from throwing the ball from the pocket four. td's no interceptions. Everything just looked sharp. It looked sharp. You've told me about this multiple times. How you look looking sharp. Can chris going into this game and you think about this for. The steelers is third game in twelve days game days. That's a lot like so cow today. Balance third and twelve game with the ravens ravens got pushed back more washington football team. They look tired. Big ben throwing the ball lot. Show themselves setup for the bills to win this game. It all depends. You know i know that number is going to be thrown out there to be thrown out there sunday night. With the telecast third three games in twelve days it's all about how mike tomlin approached the practice. It's all about how he dealt with things. Did he keep them off their feet. Did they get stay in and get extra treatment Where the practice is as long as they would be in a normal situation or did he pare down and became all mental reps. Those are the sort of themes that a good coach will do it. I believe that he understands that and he knows that that you have to rest the players and get them off their feet because the mental side of the game. You're not practicing in pads and hitting each other anyway this time of year. It's all mental so if you get them off their feet those those twelve days. Those three games won't even matter at this as key. You trust if it was a tight game. Do you trust big. Been more d. Trust josh allen right now. With the way both quarterbacks i'm gonna trust big beam more a big bands done at been there. He shown us with ways played last two games. He's still trust him more on. I mean he's twisted pittsburgh steelers. They never looked flashy. There's no there's no flash to it is always clunky. it's it's like a a big truck right it. Just it's clunky. It's not it's like okay. It's doable is good. They're gonna it's gonna get you there but it's not gonna be a porsche truck it's not a cayenne. It's not going to fly. What's our bet. Because i'm going to take the bills and taking pills you're taking i would make you feel you feel like you're going to take the steelers o o you four. You still haven't paid off the last bid j. What was the last bit spits alone. I just let you you tell me what the last bet was enough for me to pay for. But i don't remember but he never know pay. I wanna bet on the number because it's buffalo minus two. You could put a bed on the number. I'll put a better. Oh i'll tell you. What does that mean so. Buffalo is in tune to favor so they gotta essentially win by three points. Going live by three. They gonna win the game. They're going to win by three. Okay so if it's twenty nineteen buffalo. You'd win the bet if the steelers keeping the bet is just. They're going to win. Time for all these numbers man. That's not what i hear during the break. So that's what i'm saying. So we're both taking the bill. So what does that say about. The steelers will say about the steelers. Here's here's why i'm taking. Here's while why. I am taking the bills. There's no blood to pre. There's no devon bush. As i explained yes the defense aside a ball for them loses some luster there on the row. They're playing against a team like the the the buffalo bills and bills need a win. And i think they get it on sunday night in. Maybe they don't maybe they don't get it and it's okay to a degree if pittsburgh loses the game it's not okay for pittsburgh because okay They win they would not have home field advantage of casey's to move forward that's right and keep in mind. One last thing could be buffalo. That does it. They seem to be the betting favourite at this point. It could be the miami dolphins because they said one game behind but the pats on the division for eleven straight years and obviously appears that's not going to get to a dozen so it would be an amazing moment whether it's the buffalo bills miami dolphins two teams have been treading water at the quarterback position for a really long time if and when one of them snaps the eleven game division streak eleven year division. Streak excuse me put forth by the new england patriots in the afc and that would be something just a matter of who does it..

"They were considered the favorites by many to go all the way and the rockets weren't and the personnel is that reason it wasn't just you know their coach. Tyler Moore someone else they're gonNa have another very good coach. It's the talent on the team for this upcoming season. I think the Clippers are a better coaching job. Well. First of all makes they wasn't everyone's favorite that will your favorite okay. That clear there wasn't everyone's favorite. They will your favorite can say every. Day At of few other people that was dead wrong about the clippers. Here's why Houston is the better job and Tai Lue needed to Bill Houston the head of the snake for the Houston Rockets. When you look at their core, the core is signed to the year twenty, twenty two. So that's two years from now Russell. Robert COVINGTON. Are committed to the team makes you say clearly because You talking about right now as in next season. Coaches don't signed one year deals. They signed four or five year deals, and that's what ty Louis going to side. So when I'm looking at looking at the rockets, you still have to NBP's to form MVP's that are still in their prime that knee structure that never really has structure that never had a guy come in a hold them accountable and that's what they need entire. Luminescent. Todd Lewis brings to the table a guided James Harden and Russell Westbrook will respect and trust and they would trust him because they will look at his resume forget the. Four straight finals I believe it is one of the greatest championships of all the time. But if you look at tallow body of work even as a player when he was playing, he played with nothing but greats Michael Jordan Kobe and say. T. May all these guys coast under field was coached by Phil Jackson and dot groups so with that being said, tyler know how to manage the egos and that's what the rock is need because when you look at eighteen, bless you although Russell Westbrook was still playing engineer was hurt he won't. He won't admit this but he was you know equality is six weeks but althought. When you look at this rockets team, they need that they need a guy. Tyler lose go come here. That's able to say you know what? Russell Westbrook we go to the superstar that you all and get the best out of you. James Harden I. Don't need you at the top going isolation face six I know the put you in other areas to score the ball to put your position to be successful. So I'm looking at this Houston Rockets jobs. Job Entire loop in this a match made in heaven. So I agreed with you on the Lakers pick you in our right about picking the Lakers to win a championship but I feel like I have to disagree with you on this one right here because I think dead Tony did get through so you lows I feel like they're totally did get the best out of Westbrook in that situation, and it's about the expectations I think championship or boss expectations in both places, and then you look at the assets that you have. The assets that they have while they aren't locked up for as long. It's just one less year I. Think the assets in La with clippers are better than the assets that you have in Houston right now, and you could even look always up to the top I know that Tillman for Titas said that Darrell Moore's job is safe but I don't feel like anything is necessarily guaranteed down there and you look at the top you have bomber there he's willing to spend anything to give you whatever you need to make that organization work and I think that's one of the underappreciated. About building a successful sustainable NBA franchise is ownership and I think they have a situation where the owner has made a couple of mistakes in in L. A., but he's coming around to understanding how to lead organization. So it goes further than the players on the court if you could pick between those two groups or those two pairs of players I think most people would choose Kawai and anybody else over the heart in Westbrook. Situation I think Kawai and Paul George while we all agree, Paul George isn't quite up to that level to be number two on a championship team. I'm not sure that we think Westbrook is either they westbrook is a good player certain situations. Yeah. I don't. I don't think. So you think Westbrook is on the level of Anthony Davis Lebron James? Like Westbrook is on that dynamic duo level. The record shows that that's not the case. No, the record shows that's not the case in fact, I took the clippers not I thought lot number one, Lebron was slipping due to age injury and I was wrong about that and number two I didn't think they got the details right now is wrong about that. But one thing that they obviously got right which is the number one determining factor in the history of the NBA in terms of winning championships, they had to top five players on the same. Team and that's how you win like in the history of the NBA almost never do to top five players championship not westbrook my favorite player was because I, love how aggressive is at all times? How much effort he puts out he's not a top five player per when he and Paul George from the same team Paul, George was the best player on the team by the way indisputably, he was until he got hurt the MVP an MVP candidate, right so You're talking. About the Exist. Because Russ. The Paul George because he wanted Paul George to to go out there and beat and be great and if you look at it, that was the best things in their Paul, George. Booth played with Russell Westbrook. A guy that is a engine to a car and we send up your downplaying how great of a player. Is But if you were starting to franchise right now, you are not going to sit up here and tell me that you'll going to pick Paul George over. Russell, Westbrook that's just not happening. Dr. Looks really bad at this. This season for. Paul George looks really bad at the moment because he had a very bad postseason and he has that reputation coming in most people would take Paul George over what Russell Westbrook when they go on the same team. Paul George was the best player I agree with you about Westbrook that he's more of a team player than he's given credit for but his playoff record is what it is. He's been paired with a lot of great talent throughout his career. He has generally underperformed in terms of where you would anticipate his team would wind up versus where they do wind up and his James Harden better than I do in the playoffs no. megs, Max. Do I have to go back and revisit the Oklahoma City days of gay a closeout game in Utah Will Russell Westbrook went for forty five and Paul George. Wait for five points. Do I have to revisit those moments? Do I have to revisit that Russell Westbrook apparently it to the NBA. Finals dropped a forty plus against the Miami Heat Team I'll donate. Russell Westbrook is battle-tested Russell. WESTBROOK has the MVP we're talking about a guy that averaged a triple doubles for three consecutive seasons before he got hurt Max before the pandemic Russell Westbrook was ten league up no one can stop him. Do we are we forget net? We were sitting there debating whether it was team James Harden T. But that's another issue perk. Another Alpha personality but but but a Beta skillset set when he's paired with another superstar, that's one of the problems. Yet, another star players free from his tenure with the jets. This time is running back levy on bell who was released by the team. Last night bells invested veteran, which means you'll be a free agent at four PM today and will not be put on waivers. He's owed six million dollars in has eight million injury guarantee in twenty, eight, twenty one. Nick. WHO NEEDS A most? Yeah. I'm looking at the Browns as a team that completely dependent on that running attack and their down one running back I know that they still have hunt, but they're down Chubb they need another running back. It seems like every team in this league does running back by committee but no team is as reliant.

"Tuesday in seventy four years, and we are talking right now on Monday and we're doing that because there has been this steady drumbeat of positive cova tests that we've seen from the Tennessee Titans, the opponent of the buffalo bills on Tuesday night. Over the last couple of weeks, we're talking twenty four positive tests between players and team personnel, and it feels still I presume like this game could still get canceled any time until the ball is actually kicked off. So what are you hearing from the bill side? Are there concerns you've heard from players or coaches about fears around the virus going into this titans game. First of all, we haven't heard anything officially from the bills since Thursday they've been in limbo throughout the week and the weekend and kind of letting that spill over into the contact they put out into the world. But from what we had heard from them, they just WanNa play the game. They don't WANNA lose out on that game check. They don't want to be punished for something that they didn't do in that. You understand you gotta roll with the punches there in this era, but it does At its core kind of feel like a punishment if you can't play and you can get paid because of what another team is doing, it's like when you turn in your assignments but the kid across the table from you keep talking in the whole class gets recess canceled. So there's a little bit of frustration there. But from what they tell us, they trust the league they are just kind of rolling with it. They're finding things out as we're finding things out and it's kind of a tricky situation. For everybody involved. So the flip side of that dynamic, the diligent student and the one that is not getting their work in the way they're supposed to the flip side is like okay well, then the titans should have to forfeit has there been any talk around bills camp around that being a thing they would like to see again, not publicly because they've they've kept that core belief that they just want to play the game back. So we spoke with Mike high on Thursdays one of the last available. Players that was made for us. He said, he didn't even realize postponing canceling Games was a possibility. He just always assumed that. Okay. If this guy test positive, then they're going to have to move forward without that player. So it does get to a point where you can't just keep pushing games back. You know there's only so many times you can do that, and especially if there's a case of explicit negligence from the top down in an organization than forfeiting a game has to be at least considered. It seems harsh but so was the not staying socially distant and not masking up in the facility and all these other allegations that have been levied against the titans. So. Let's think positive for a second I mean it in the other way the conventional way that we used to talk about it because you are in Buffalo Marcel, and if there's one fan base in sports that really has the ability to think positive amid all this negativity, it's the buffalo bills because they have experience in making the best of the worst. This season, they actually are the best in their division they are four and this year they are leading the AFC east and the thing that is so surprising to me is that it hasn't been their defense that's been behind their hot start. It's actually been their offense. Certain. Territory. As they. Forty seven. Oh strange has this season felt to you as the bills beat reporter. It is Kinda strange because even in my one season covering the buffalo bills, I have been trained to expect defensive gritty football every time I enter that stadium guy have to psych myself up and say, okay, we're going to see a fourteen to ten game and you're GonNa like it. It's so different this game to the point where it's like, wow, it's kind of exciting to see this offense take the field especially with the way that Josh Allen is playing. Touchdown. Easy. For the pills Josh. Rushing touchdown, and now Josh Allen a passing touchdown. This is kind of what you would expect it to look like on Madden, and that's like our favorite thing to say sportswriters, right like this isn't madness isn't madden. Early season just put a whole bunch of weapons together put them all on the field at the same time like Brian Cabell. The Bills Offensive Coordinator has frequently done, and then just let your quarterback go to work Allen Fires a quick one caught by John Brownlow, makes the catch at the ten at the five. into the touchdown buffalo that was too easy. Man Come on. I want to say this ain't your mom and dad's team, but it kind of is. This is looking like the bills of the early nineties that kind of offensive firepower. Josh Allen to your metaphor does play quarterback like I used to play mad at like two, thirty, a M. Lots of questionable decisions, but in the end prolific. He has been maligned throughout his career Marcel but he's always been entertaining good or bad and this year he's pretty much been straight up good twelve touchdowns one interception third in the NFL and passer rating. What has changed with Josh Allen. I used to say, you will never feel as alive as you feel when you watch Josh Allen Play Football. That could sometimes be a good thing. Sometimes could be a bad thing, but you are going to feel that heart rate go up what's changed for him is beyond just having that third year under the same coordinator in same coaching staff. That's that's kind of a rarity in today's game it's just the little things short up over the off season of how to conversation or two with his offseason quarterback coach, Jordan Palmer who works with guys like Sam Darnold, he worked with Joe Borough works with mahomes before and. He said that they'd just focused on one thing in the past three off seasons. It was strengthening his base in his stride when he was entering the League because that's where a lot of those erotic truly erotic throws were coming out of college been last year it was throwing with anticipation. Anticipating windows in guys breaking free. And then this year, it was just control. We all know he's got this rocket arm, but you don't always have to use a hundred percent of your art. What I thought was interesting about their work. This offseason was he wasn't just throwing to professional receivers in professional route runners. When they were working the talent ranged all the way from NFL down to collegiate receivers down even high school and youth receivers and what Joe said was that those kind of that kind of difference in speed difference in talent. It made him adjusts his arm angles and adjust how he threw each route because you're getting a different look a different window in a different angle, every single time and that kind of practice taught him. Okay. You don't just have to fire it in there. Sometimes, you gotTa Finesse that ball into your receiver and we're seeing a lot of it. He is among the League's best at completing crossing routes in two thousand and twenty among. The League's best completing those deep balls twenty plus yards down the field, and we're not just talking about you know an incremental improvement from his first two years we're looking at thirty, forty, fifty percent increase in his completion percentage any throwing the ball at the same rate. That's where we're seeing the biggest change in Josh Allen Game. So now I'm stuck imagining Josh Allen Firing one hundred mile an hour football at like a fifteen year olds. A lot of, NDA..

"That's out of network and then get personally charged for the difference between what the provider charges and what. The patient's the health care insurance is willing to pay. This can even happen if you go to an in network facility like a hospital but get treated by an out of network doctor now sometimes. The bills can be just a few dollars but they can also be thousands of dollars leading to some of the medical bankruptcies we hear about not surprisingly surprise. Medical bills are not terribly popular among Americans Americans with surveys showing that around half of us have received one so congress and the White House had been working on a solution for over a year but it is very complicated after. Remember over the extra money does need to come from somewhere. If it's not gonna come from patients then either. Healthcare insurers are going to need to pay or healthcare providers are going to need to pay or maybe maybe a combination of the two. This past midnight may have seen a breakthrough though as some bipartisan. Top members of congressional healthcare committees and nounce in agreement but within hours the health care industry voiced its opposition and given what we know about Washington. DC that means getting. This deal passed as anything but a sure bet. In the meantime surprise medical bills continue to be mixed in but the holiday cards. PODCAST joined now by active healthcare reporter. Caitlyn Owens so Caitlyn as we mentioned at the top there was a deal proposed on Sunday night. What are the broad strokes so this deal would prohibit patients receiving bills and then it would also set a benchmark right to decide how much that provider got paid but if a bill is above seven hundred fifty dollars then either party would have the option of taking it to arbitration to dispute kind kind of that benchmark claim spreads? Medical bills aren't a small thing in the sense of there's lots and lots of them who these arbitrators but this basically a new federal bureaucracy of arbitrators or do we have any senator who these people because we could be talking about thousands and thousands of claims day. Well first of all. I don't know it's hard to say. How many claims because first of all the average balanced bill according to a letter that I got last last week from team health which is a physician staffing firm the average balance Bill? They said that they send out is five hundred thirty dollars. You know I think. That's part of the providers complaints about about this is that seven hundred and fifty s and a low enough threshold to be able to send you know most of their bills to arbitration board. That said we don't have the legislative text as far as I know yet. We just got a section by section in summary so I think some of these details are kind of the weedy ones are a little bit. Td actually asked about that when we look at WHO Kinda proposed this on Sunday night one person was conspicuously. Absent isn't which was Patty Murray. Who's kind of the top Democrat on the Senate side of this Lamar Alexander who's a Republican counterpart was on it? Do we know why she wasn't there. It was that just because she didn't and get around to it or is she going to actively oppose this because that would seem to matter no she said a statement and it was a supportive statement. She's not on it. She said that some members of your caucus we're still having being issues with the bill. Politico reported that one of those was Chuck Schumer. He was the Senate Minority Leader and not coincidentally New York Hospital. Association is opposing misspell spell. Almost every healthcare provider organization of any substance is opposing this bill or or is there an exception somewhere the major ones all are opposing it. Yes yes they want the arbitration rate their big favor arbitration in states where petitioner has been used. It's been favorable to them. They don't like the benchmark rate weather because that lowers their profits were because they don't like the standard that it sets of the government intervening and payment rates if this bill As you said the legislative texts. Isn't there yet. But if this concept in theory were to become in law as a patient at that point does it matter anymore if I go in network out of network does that become largely irrelevant. No so I think this. Bill Limited limited to specific circumstances. Now what can't happen or what is not supposed to happen anymore is that you unknowingly go out of network so you know the point is that the patient needs to actively consent to going out of network so the problem is for example when you go to the emergency room in your anesthesiology. Even first of all like you know if you're having an emergency I don't think anyone's first first reaction to this to say go to the closest place by ambulance explicit. Exactly so then you know once. You're there even if you are in network like who knows if the anesthesiologist MRIs ecologists. That comes by while you're unconscious is going to be in network or out of network right so like that's what the situation is attempting to address now if you WanNa get knee surgery and you really like an out of network needs urgent. And you're aware that the knee surgeon is out of network. You're still going to have to be on the hook for paying out of whatever that cost is and and you know the solution doesn't apply there so the point is that patients will just like not unknowingly see out of network providers and then get hit with the bill for it. We've talked a little bit in the past. About how when you look at the pieces of the healthcare industry and when you see what gets talked about say during presidential debates or other political debates providers the doctors the facilities almost never get mentioned as part out of the equation. Here is that beginning to change in surprised medical bill and change that or do people still into the politicians still at least publicly talk insurers insurers insures insures and drug companies obviously. You're still the big ones. But you are seeing the providers. Come up more so and you know. I think that these ads that these private equity backed companies have run. I pissed some politicians off. Joe Rogan told. WHO's the top adviser at the White House? told us that they were vile and these are. ADS are coming from providers that are targeting congresspeople. And kinda swing districts correct right and I think that Dan you know the one thing we haven't talked about yet on this. Is that just this year so much money at stake here and you know in this letter that I obtained last sweep that I wrote about team health. Which is one of these private equity backed provider companies? They wrote two senators in a private letter. That they'd it's not that they make a lot of money from balanced spilling itself which they don't it's like you know a lot of patients can't even pay these bills but the point is they are able to raise in network rates with insurers because there are threatening to the inbalance spo- patients so it's kind of like you know one expert put it to me. It's like basically holding patients hostage. You know putting a gun to their head and looking insurers and saying pay up you know so there's just a AH that's why private equity is interested in these firms because they're able to get these in-network payment raith that are many multiples of what Medicare pays and better paid than many other. Providers specialties specialties. It's not just these balanced bills that are at stake here. It's also you know what it comes down to. Is How much tax payers and patients paying premiums or taxes if you know in the case of taxpayers. So there's there's just a lot of layers to this issue and it really gets that the reason why providers are fighting so hard for this just how much money is at stake crystal-ball gaze from where we are This two thousand nine hundred about the end in which means we are officially going to be in a presidential election year very very soon plus a Senate election year for lots of folks. Do you expect by next November. Will there be some sort of legislation. salaciously passed and signed by the White House to try to get at this issue surprise medical billing. You would've asked me last week and I said no probably not at this rate but I think that you know this kind of did get a new burst of energy this weekend when the bill was released. I hate putting myself in a definitive status. But I'm asking because things can change it a whim. It's looking at this week. I'll say that that's that's a good place. "Titans into your heart I. I guess I'm ready. Tighten up okay. Let me rephrase that. Are you ready to accept a world in which Ryan Tannehill is the most beloved by advanced. Reese quarterback you in Did you did you see a Ben Baldwin. CPO E EPA rankings. Today where Santa Hell Yeah. He's number one number one in the dumps. Dad's he's a fascinating this season's one hundred thirteen point nine that second and in six starts he's had five one hundred plus games but he's also the next has that a completion percentage above above expected completion percentage. He's number one by like a mile in that so I went back and watched a little bit of Tanta Hill. To see how he's been doing it and the last game he wasn't as good. You have this incredible. That forty yard pass. Hold hold onto cle- Raymond who is a person. I learned existed while watching that clip. But I think that that was probably like he didn't really win the game but it is interesting Charles like it does feel like they've sort of built the perfect offense for his skill set. If that that makes sense which is something that obviously did not happen in Miami. Yeah I remember I think the first Tannehill game I watched this year was that she's game. Where on that last drive of the game? I mean I thought I was watching like personnel Al Hall of Famer because he had twenty two yards and he comes back those two strikes for like sixty down the field then scored a touchdown scores two super conversion. That was like you know. I don't even know what this is. But that's not the Ryan Tannehill that I'm used to watch him and yet again Charles. MacDonald underestimating summating the mobility of my court. I'm Danielle I didn't. I wasn't underestimate people. Receiver at a Texas. I know he's a good athlete. How I was just thinking like I didn't know that he has the ability to do like a ninety yard game winning drive? I don't think I've ever seen them do that. And I I really like the way office is set up because I was a big fan of. Aj Brown the Ole miss the draft. He is great. And did you just look at what he was able to do in college. I mean he was. I think you have to or two or three straight thousand yard seasons and he was doing at such a young Age So you know you got him and Corey Davis and Derrick. Henry is coming along and dominating December as he seems to do every single year. You I don't. I don't really know what the feeling on this team is. But you're right like the way that this thing structure pretend to hell. I don't think it's a stretch to say. I mean this might even be a rather obvious statement that this is the best supporting cast that he's had in his career where it's like. All these pieces are working together for him. And he's almost a perfect quarterback to unlock this thing and make it work so this is I think this is the first time in my life. Since Steve McNair was there where I can honestly say like I enjoy watching the Tennessee. Titans play offense like I don't I I don't know what's going on here. And the fact that Ryan Ryan Tannehill leading this resurgence. It's I mean it's amazing to watch the keys. He's tied right now. The League League with Pat with Patrick Mahomes in terms of adjusted yards per attempt. which you know? If you're listening you don't know it converts touchdown interception interceptions of the yards and it makes like one meet yards per attempt number I I don't I don't think he's doing that. Great in terms of QBR. But when you just watch them play it's like it's like a totally totally different quarterback that we've seen that was playing in you know these really short we're going to throw the ball Jarvis Landry a million times a game screen stuff but that he was doing Adam Gates and now he's got an offense coordinator with Arthur Smith to when Marietta was a quarterback look like a lame duck guy and now he he's leaving one of the better offenses in the League over the past few weeks. It's it's it's really strange to watch and I really hope that the Tennessee titans sneak into the playoffs. Somehow because I I just WanNa see what they can do in a high stakes situation where we've seen the comeback against the chiefs. Even though a little bit of that was Andy Reid in his usual clock management. A gas I I I would love to see them get into the playoffs playing the high state games and how the chance to to win in a normal way I would say because last time they won. That was the the way they played against the chiefs in the playoffs in Mariota caught that pass it was bad down south. Yeah like I. I'm really interested to see see if this team is legit and if they can continue like this explosive offense inefficient offense in the postseason over the last three games. Derrick Kennedy is rushed for one hundred forty nine yards one hundred fifty nine yards one hundred eighty eight yards so great it's The line is still very bad at pass. Pro they're gonNA run blocking you. Actually see you and I think Taniela some of the same problems as Mario I do think he holds onto it too long but offensive line does struggle in that regard. That said he's kind of doing everything they wanted Mario to do. It's it's a simple offense. It's really. It's a lot of boots a lot of screens. But he's executing well I think Mario it over the last couple of years. The you mobility is there in a way that threatens defenses. It's guys like Henry j Brown just really strong athletic lake weapons. Just get him the ball and let them run dudes over. Eat seems to be like a formula. That's pretty successful for them. I think this is a plus defense. I don't think they're one of the best defense in the NFL. The secondary is probably. I don't have the numbers in front of me. The this best rush defense twenty third past that checks out a UH great linebacker group. I feel like I'm I'm one of the oldest finished such a lame thing to say but you don't really hear enough. I think about this linebacker linebacker group and how good they are John Brown. Hope I'm saying his name right but He's been good for two years now John Evans also he's in a second can season out about he. He's been really great and then Herald Landry Herald Landry Cheese Herald Landry got eight sacks eleven tackles for loss so I think with with Acura and then draw. Casey hasn't been as unstoppable as he's been in past years but pairing him with Jeffrey Simmons over the last few Games has unlocked him at moments. I mean this defense. That's good enough. I think to keep pace with any of the playoff teams. So we'll see I mean I. I would pick them to win. I mean the raiders who are playing this weekend are obviously trending in the wrong direction. They've been outscored seventy four to twelve over the last few games. I don't really want to talk about them. I'm at length. I just want to read this quote from Tarran Matthew. I'm glad that we were able to capitalize on him him. Being Derek Carr her when he did try to throw the ball down the field. Yeah I mean I was at that I obviously I was at the Jess Raider game Two weeks ago man like it was just all check downs. The entire game like he he he. We did not test the the jazz defense whatsoever and then they got behind so quickly so fast that He was pulled like three minutes left in the third. Quarter and that raiders team. I I was. I was intrigued by them. But even going into that jets game where they were six and four. They still had a negative point differential on the season. And I think even if you if you go back you go to pro football reference and you look at each seems expected wins and losses coming into that game. They're six and four but they're expected wouldn't losses was three and seven so they were team that was like Kinda outperforming expectations at the time or getting lucky these close games and you know I maybe over the the past two weeks leave We've seen what this team might actually be. Which is pretty boring? Yeah they're like an average football altea. Basically yeah I still think I mean. If you're a raiders fan too I'm not like totally dispirited. Allow these rookies look really good. I'm still excited about you. Know like Mo oh her and Renfro. Who didn't apparently Hunter Renfro was the key? To the entire raiders. Offense all along who knew by the way tyroleans real disappointment there. And I think that's that's the issue this is supposed to be an evaluation year of Derek Carr and after the first half of the season you're thinking all right we we're gonNA definitely a stick with him and now he's struggling and the reason. I thought it would be a good year to evaluate him because I thought okay. They finally have weapons around him. This is when they signed Brown to and I thought okay they can tell what they have but at the end of the day. It doesn't matter who you put around him. It's just as brain like I wish you could take a little bit of Daniel Jones and Janus Winston like what's in their brain and do a little bit of a swap an eighty twenty situation take twenty percent of Derek Carr and put it in their brains take twenty percent of Winston Jones and put it in Derek cars brain. Yeah I it's just it's just gotta be more aggressive like if you wanNA consistently score points and I think he made a good point like there is stuff to be excited about. Josh Jacobs has an excellent all season. I think the off that often divine is is is pretty good to me Like I love watching Trent Brown play. Because you just show you six eight. Three hundred. Seventy three hundred eighty pound guys just moved like as well as he does not. I don't know it's just like one of those planet things where I just just can't get enough of watching some of those guys off the vine so I I don't I they still have the first round pick from the Khalil Mack Trade for next year to right. I think I think so. Yeah it away like you can really argue either side of that now it almost gas on that. It's not like a lose lose situation but I mean the bears probably got like a it probably stick there because it's he he he's great but I think teams showed this year you can. You can neutralize them a little bit if you you know if he three bodies and yeah you can block him And that's a viable way to play offense when Leonard Floyd doesn't show up and now it's on trubisky and we know trubisky you know he's just so you know I mistake. But he's got to see how those picks pan out for the for the raiders. All right before we get to dinks and dunks wanted to tell you guys is about to podcasts one is espn daily hosted by yours. "Who was the signs like two who years in like less than eight million dollars have been really really good and then Brown Beasley really have not only been excellent but have an excellent for Josh Allen? I John Brown was opened the entire first. Half of the season. It would drive me crazy. And then Allen started to hit him and then I think what you've seen over the last few games during this stretch very good offense from them is Brown has been double teamed and bracketed a bit more and he's been finding Beasley basically a human zone Beater Ryan. I think you saw that on Thanksgiving thanks. Giving in particular online that excellent touchdown pass so you know if he can like play efficient. Football with those to pass catchers. I think that's kind of the perfect complement of weapons for him Much has been made of debut. It's still funny by the way after the Patriots Patriots game you know he was really bad and the offense was struggling in the beginning of the year. It was all the defense you saw people calling for like dabbles. Firing was heavily criticised and it. Just I I still like I always. I praised him back then received some criticism but I really think it was more just that they weren't executing his game plan but they have made some tweaks you know he famously famously moved upstairs and also shaved his beard but beyond that they've played a lot more no huddled and they've gotten Robert Foster on the field using more eleven and I think that's worked as well just kind of getting their best players out there so all that said. I think if the bills want any hope at this one it can't just be defensive grind fest I think Allen needs to exploit those ravens corners and I think you know there's some hope based on what we've seen lately. Yeah there there's definitely some hope You know I'm kinda interested to see like if the bills else can win this game like is there a chance that they can get back into the AFC and you know like like they like dabble. He's done such a good job and and I remember like last year when they beat the Vikings and I think they're just dealing with a ton of short fields and they they gotta turn overs on Kirk cousins but They got like dabble. which is scheming guys wide? Open against the Mike Zimmer's defense. That's when I was like okay. You know this guy might actually be you. You know a pretty counterplay collar and now and now. Now he's got the personnel like it's almost a little bit to me like not that he's Kyle Shanahan but when you wash Kyle Shanahan in his first year with the forty nine and it's like you see these guys running wide open but whoever their quarterback was whether it be hoyer or better or whatever they were just just missing these throws and and you see it's like if they could just get a little bit more talent at the quarterback position with off line or or what have you then this really take off and now I think he's starting to say see the same thing with the bills and if they can keep this up if they can beat the ravens like we might have to start taking this team seriously as a team that might not. I don't WANNA say they'll beat the Patriots but at least at least can make make some noise in the playoffs and potentially get get into that home slot against the AFC East a Ah are for the AFC East especially if you know if this patriots often still keeps sputtering Mike. I think that's a very real possibility. But they still have to go out and do I. I mean pats would have to lose to the chiefs not impossible and then we'd have to go to foxborough girl beat them all right. Well before we get to the next game I can tell you about ziprecruiter. "Know that if you can't throw you can still produce on the ground I'm not sure if this is the case now but going into that giving us a forty niners the ravens had three of the top five runners in the league in terms of yards per carry with Lamar Mark Ingram and Gusts Edwards. So you know what what they're doing on the ground is unbelievable and if if a team like the forty niners can't stop them on the ground like if Lamar Still GonNa get sixteen carries. Here's one hundred one yards and a touchdown versus the forty niners. And they have you know zillion first round picks on defense or making go make Aaron. Donald look like just an ordinary right from the pack. Were in that game against the rams where he has one of the worst games of his career against that team. You know it's it's really scary to think about. Not only what this team can the rest of the season but what they can do in the future because I mean you got to think about it. I receiver they've Hollywood Hollywood Brown who he. He's kind of in and out the lineup but he's dynamic player and outside of that in the passing game they're just kind of relying on tight ends in. Got Guys like Steph Roberts in Willie snead needs you know they have at least personnel wise. A lot of room to get better so you know I. I thought that game was just I. It was fascinating to see a team. Still be able to move the ball and still there'll be other play productive football in a situation where the throwing wasn't always there for them and you know I. It was a mix between the weather. And Lamar was perfect on the ball on that game. Either but you know I think the fact that he doesn't need to be perfect to still being extremely valuable player for the issues. Like that's gotTa be Kinda scary to watch it if you're the rest of the AFC not that was just about perfect defensive game against them are honestly. That's that's probably the best sort of defensive performance you'll get against the Ravens is what you saw partially their offense just didn't execute enough also. It was Jimmy was trying to throw interceptions all over the place and they were also plagued by the same issues with the rain and they also ran. The ball with great successes are really close football the game but I think a couple of things struck me about watching from watching this niners defense against that Ravens run game game. Once it became clear to the past wasn't there I joked about how the options were faking out. The niners linebackers. Ah joked about criticizing them. Even though I was full on every play but it was funny. Charles's even went so there were just many plays where you would see the Fred Fred Warner whoever bite on whether it was Ingraham Edwards on an option play and then Lamar would scoot around the edge but even when they read read him correctly. He's still to the Hass. That's what's so crazy about watching him like we talk about the use of motion and the deception and the optionality on that but even when it's not there even when you know he's GonNa run he will still beat. You WanNa say beat you too. It's not like it used to rip off a huge run because it's the ravens they're gonNA play four downs. God bless them like they're just he's GonNa he's GonNa get it so I think that that's something that struck me. I thought if they play that game a few more times I do think the niners win some of them if they get a better game out at Jimmy just because at defense really is the best in the League and the other thing that struck me about this game game is how deeply irritating it is that Baltimore has Justin ducker right like always kicker struggling across the League for teams. That actually need them. They alright have the best kicker in the NFL. Twenty three this year and they can use him to ice games when they want to. So that's infuriating so I don't think the bills defense is as good as San Francisco's. I think they're very good. They do play a lot of zone and I think that equips them better against Jackson perhaps in some other teams but I integrate cowboys. Oh Boy Game Charles. They warrant terrific against the run so I wouldn't be surprised and given how good this bill second areas areas. I wouldn't be surprised if we see another similar performance from Amar on this one. Yeah I mean neither would i. And it's gotten to the point where you know if if the the forty niners can't stop the run if rams can't stop the run AO INC coming into those games. Those are two of the better run defense league like if those teams are just GonNa get towards from the ground we might just be at a point where it says. It doesn't really matter how good you run defenses. I E you're probably just just GONNA get smoked regardless because you not only. Do you have to scheme where you have to account for the quarterback where like all eleven players on the field are active participants submits in the run game on offense which is something that really only one team is consistently doing in Baltimore. You have to deal with the fact that they have some really really really talented offensive lineman with Ronnie Stanley's a former first round pick. He's great. We all know Marshall Janda might be a future hall of Famer is the hall if the if the voters get that one right Orlando Brown's developed into one of the best right tackles in the League And he was a third round pick. I mean these guys can just mall your face at the point of attack. Not only are you worrying about. Where is the ball you have? You have these three hundred forty pound guys just coming down your face while you're trying to figure out where the ball is and then before you can even figure out either Ingram slip down the field for ten yards or the Mars going around the corner like this is I think i. I don't know if we have any advanced advanced numbers on this or I'm sure there are buying them but this has got to be one of the best rushing attacks just flat out in the history of the game and when you look at how efficient that they they are on the ground if you just go by pro football pro pro. Football references expected plant models. They're more efficient than about half the leaks passing tax. Which is I mean insane positive by the way as a run just to have a positive rushing? EPA is already bonkers so yeah so so what what they're doing on the ground is crazy and then You know you factor in what Lamar can do as a passer like I. I just don't know if buffalo has the horses to to slow interesting down in you know at at all. He had a great game on Thanksgiving against the cowboys He's coming to zone. But still you know I just don't know no as a whole i. If this is the team that can flow down Lamar McDermott's great offense is a great decent mind for the bills and I think he's one of the best defense. The coaches like flat out and football. But you know I it just comes to a point where this this Baltimore. Offense is such a fine tuned machine that even if they can they can clamp ramp down on the passing game a little bit and make Lamar you know at least control him as a passer. It just might not matter because that runoff fences so good. I think that you're right about the bills defense which is talked about a lot. And they're very good and it was lovely to see our beloved Oliver Start Thriving driving after a slow start this year. I think for it's more likely. Let's put it this way that a team that the ravens will. We'll have a bad day on defense that we'll see more slip-ups from Earl Thomas and Marcus. Peters like what we saw in the ninth game then it is. I think for a defense to stop Lamar altogether right. And if you'd asked me Charles like a month ago I would have said no shot this. This bills offense is terrible but they've come on really strong over the last few weeks and credit where credit's due. Josh Allen has been excellent over the last few weeks Aaron shots on the show a couple of weeks ago posted this through the first five weeks. Josh had a negative twenty twenty four point. Eight percent passing diva which is very bad. Can we seven three thirteen. It's been plus six point seven. It's interesting adding to. I pulled up his numbers miss. I've always felt the COM for him. Was Cam Newton. That's where the potential was there and when you pull up their second season numbers. There's a lot of similarities. There Cam was better over the course of the whole second season. But if you narrow window for Josh to the last month and a half hour so it's very similar and you know I think there's you can put a lot of it on debacle and we'll talk about that a second but he just looks like he's developing As a quarterback he is making better decisions. He's you know a lot of times in the beginning of the season you would. He would play like a really good really great quarter or to be wouldn't put together complete game. And you make these boneheaded mistakes NOCCO through his reads tried to turn over the ball and that's gone he he just. He stopped locking into guys as much. I don't think the deep ball is perfect yet. But we're finally starting to see that line line up a bit. which given his strength would be remarkable? He's holding onto the ball less long. He's making the right pre snap. Read so if you're a bills fan you have to be thrilled with what you've seen the last few weeks. Yeah for sure and I mean that Thanksgiving game was. It was huge because I think it gave at least your casualties football fan. The idea that Josh Allen can play a little bit accurately that was his first nationally televised. Yes if you had only seen that game you probably think Josh Elvis Court cracking right so you know. I think that was big for his national image. But you know he he definitely has improved over the past. You know I think over the last eleven games. I was looking at last night historic thirteen touchdowns to just two interceptions. which is you know? It's pretty impressive. Considering the fact that he was just seen is like this incredibly raw passer. That didn't really know what he was doing. And Yeah I think one thing that you really see improved from him is. The process looks a lot easier for them in terms of playing vote. Because you know even earlier this year You know me and my friend justice. We were laughing about it. Because when I watched Josh Allen play the season we were talking about how now Josh Allen looked like. Every time he caught the pass he caught this. This is not the shotgun snap. He was almost waking up mid play like he would catch the snap and then like falsely for second and then come to and then at that point you know he's already getting sacked or pass but now it's all like there's a process to. I'M GONNA catch. Snap them and get back to my drop by drop. That boss can be out and that's that's a huge improvement over where he was earlier this here and late last year and I like the fact that he's he's kind of cut back on instead of using this. You Know Howitzer for right on me has instead instead of launching the ball seventy yards downfield. He's used to the advantage like in a media game because if if he if his receivers can get a step like like what he's done with John Brown this season or even Dawson knocks the tight end if you times if those guys can get Step he has the Armstrong rifled the ball and to just about any window and that's from a he's wondering about his own game and it's think it's been a big improvement in terms of maximizing the these efficiency on on on these past place so yeah yea I think one of my favorite throws from him. I think I think it was last week when they were playing. The dolphins in the dolphins were in cover too and he hits on Brown like in the honey hole along alongside my and I mean just forty yards across the field on a on a rail And then jump score touchdowns and you know those are the place that that really excite any fan of like no matter what your pre-draft analysis stuff was like. If you can see someone make that throw you WanNa see them. Continue to make that you know I. I hope that sounds I'm good. I'm hoping continue this because one. It'd be nice if we could. Have you know another young quarterback to get excited about as the you know. The old guard kind of moves along longer retires and to you know just anytime you can see somebody with that level of physical ability. You know. It's it's almost the same thing with Lamar you know. You WanNa see these guys maximize his skill. Because it's just they're just a blast to watch like. I don't know anyone who who didn't watch Josh Allen on on Thanksgiving and say you know that was actually pretty entertaining watching. Just rip the ball down the field they can make places flags and you know. It's almost like a over the past month or so. It's like a controlled level of chaos as planning and and it's just a blast to watch. Yeah and I did this. After the game that I thought like Brandon beane had the best offseason at which point a bunch of angry niners fans jumped into my mention but buck for buck. These signings have been incredible. You mentioned the Ravens Offensive. Line the bills of line has been right there with them and you you know. Obviously they did. Pay A lot of money for Mitch Morris but Quinton Spain John Feliciano Feliciana Feliciana..
"bills" Discussed on Mueller, She Wrote
"Muller report now now is because that didn't come out when it happened so if people ask you like well. What are these hearing just a do over? It's not and it's especially not since when the findings findings the mole report came out they were precluded by not precluded they were preempted and spun by a corrupt attorney general so that's kind of where we're at now so the people have said some remedies for this appoint. A special counsel never going to happen to be appointed by the attorney general plus. We'll take so long yeah and do you WanNa wait. I don't want to this belongs in Congress. another thing you can do is criminal contempt but again that's a referral department of Justice they aren't going to do that. I don't think anything that goes has to go up through bill bars a dent and you know deny acting criminally you know that's okay yeah true that would be hard to prove especially since he got information and direction from the DOJ and the White House and to not report so he was under direction I'm not sure how he can square following lawful order but he's got the wreck sent it it would make a criminal case very hard then we have inherent contempt and this is an old thing thing and somebody put a big threat out about it like when he when he comes in the DNA night in on September twenty six they should demand the thing here's here's the secret demanded Manda thing if he doesn't give over the thing say do you refuse to give over the thing if he says I refuse to give over the thing now the sergeant and arms detained him and and incarcerate him until L. he agrees to give over the thing and apparently that's something called inherent contempt that the Congress has how likely is that at zero but so it is interesting that it exists so the idea would be they. Would you know frog walk him to the there. Is this quaint little jail salad salad like out of Andy of mayberry or something but in the in the actual pit of of of the Congress and Congress has so but it hasn't been used in over one hundred years you know it's not it's one of these things that have fallen prey to sway it too with fancy legal term for just this misuse but for that very reason itself would would be prey to so many legal challenges says and the like basically it's considered a dead letter a quaint footnote of history forget that one yeah I think the argument for people who you want it though is that Oh really so it's not used that often it's not in the norm or it's not you know common what about the nine million things that trump has done that are not common not in the norm and haven't been used ever for example like I say the temptation and the thirty second fun of having deny marched into this little jail but takes Corpus Mark Martin into that little jail right you mean you could you can detain them in any any what this means when when when you talk about inherit contempt untapped is literally Congress's power to kind of act as an executive at once and that means they jail. I'm an in their little at least that's what it has always meant. The how else are they going to detain them. Hold them by you know gunpoint in the well. It wasn't somebody at a hotel wasn't somebody detained at a hotel for awhile detention and and I I mean any time somebody is prevented from leaving. They are technically detained but you know if you're actually using inherent contempt you are incarcerating that person and by the way that's exactly what Habeas Corpus is four and you know and they would go to the judge. Bring me the body and Maguire would be out by nighttime. dammit limit that wanted you sounded so good yeah then there's something called Man Damis third I if I might because there's always three ways of going with contempt the first one the judicial review yeah but when that is I mean it's been for a while that the executive has said even though the statute seems to say when you referred to us we have to respond. They've said we don't you can't constrain our discretion that way. It's been for over one hundred years. Inherent contempt is a dead letter so the way these always go. Oh is you hold someone in contend this what happened to Harriet Myers. This is what happened to Eric holder and fast and furious you hold someone in contempt based on that finding of contempt you bring an action in the district court that that is not only viable but the only viable but the the much exercised option and the sort of more likely one criminal contempt right you fight you go there you say this guy's in contempt unless he does. XYZ Here's the order of Congress that he is refusing and the District Court says Yep looks like he's in contempt which is a little bit elevated. It's a little bit he's. He knows that he's done on purpose. ETC Yuppies in contempt you have to do this and there aren't criminal penalties. It's true but the but the courts ordered the release of AH release again is so important here ordered the transmission to the Intelligence Committee chair of the complaint now is this separate from shift filing a lawsuit to force the deny to hand it over or is this the same it's short answer is it's the same now tam word and and so we can see different forms that the that the lawsuit could take but when people say file a lawsuit that's what they mean and of course in that lawsuit the executive cutive branch can assert its privilege or whatever article two defenses and can actually come forward with not in the abstract but actually actually what why this complaint presents classified information or whatever it would be reviewed in camera by a court but yes the short answer is when people say say. Why doesn't we'll shift sue this is the kind of suit that's been brought in the ways and means committee in the dust up and the and the like but plot is there? Is there another option for the lawsuit and you've mentioned mandate mass. There's been chatter about that on twitter. It seems right again. It sounds really cool does it. I I WANNA get a man damus wrapped in an inherent contempt totally and and eat it and listeners the nurse of Muller. She rode who who already have the equivalent of a least a year of law school may already know that's the action that was in Marbury very versus Madison an order to you know this is non-discretionary. You have to do it. you have to give Marbury his commission. We want rid of Man Damis which is basically an order that says you know just do this and the famous ruling in Marbury versus Madison was yeah. It seems like a good case case for Mandela's but we supreme court camp. Bring it because the statute doesn't the statute purports to give us appellate jurisdiction that conflicts with the Constitution a toossion constitution rules hodge additional review is instituted even as the the other side wins. That's a that's a quick detour but back here mandate miss. It sounds good non-discretionary. It seems like what it's for. It's really funky is very rarely used and it it has to you have to show all kinds of ways in which other paths can't be taken under the so-called all writs act and I can just tell you that that it is not straight forward it would be tied up in all lot of arcane. Constitutional challenge is not about whether it lies mandates but whether it's a proper vehicle here and that might wind up taking more time than everything else so for my shifts council and by the way he's got a great rate one doug lighter who came over from the Department of Justice. My advice would be do the the what is now the Plain Vanilla contempt route in the district court down the loss contempt lawsuit exemplify contempt because on that Su because then you can just get quick to a court order to turn it over Appeal Appeal Appeal Back Down Back Down Court order. You have to hand over the stuff. He hasn't said you can get quick. I think that's right but then Nola quicker it quicker than man Damis well prob- It depends whether mandate miss would be tied up in in constant in different kinds of arguments. I just WANNA say trump exactly right quick order but then you quit or appeal appeal appeal and and then you get it I think it's really quick order heels appeal and I'm sure I'm sure they will file to hit the schedule faster based on the urgency or whatever additition for certain and everything and maybe it is asserted worthy issue so we really are again talking about I think as fast as we go but we are again talking about months in the meantime however we'll get it all by Thursday Thursday well the the the day in day out the information is coming and there's the possibility journal presented in another way hey and actually forming a true impeachment here. I mean there's there's a scenario here. Were the house judiciary. Committee boom uses this to vote out articles of impeachment and either no trial occurs because you know be or at least a formal impeachment resolution does the big big thing we've been waiting for forever and the sons of bitches in the Senate. Excuse me I don't do this on my own. podcast down to the Senate. Republicans have to are forced to take some position are forced to in them fan. This instead of being silent that I think is becoming a political imperative. I think think this episode has shifted me as it were over to the Nadler shift side and away from the Pelosi side it's time and politically sound given even this for an impeachment resolution and you're saying to go boom articles of impeachment or boom resolution to open a formal impeachment inquiry. I simply saying the well I I mean you gotTa. Go methodically but I'm saying yeah I mean I think it is impeachable. You voted out. Maybe with other things and again tribe. Has this interesting position. That doesn't doesn't mean you have to have a trial but I don't know I think a trial here is now salutary because I want Senate Republicans and I think both the politic small people at but also for the body politic. It's really useful and important to make them respond. It's it's just ridiculous Dick. It's December eighth nineteen forty. One and half of the Senate is staying silent. What the Hell is their answer to this presidential conduct doc yeah and I and to either get that information to vote on the articles of impeachment more quickly than all these other remedies that's right will either get it from journalists or maybe maybe shift might subpoenaed them and provide immunity? That could be a way to get pretty pretty fast. He'll cooperate but let them let them try to challenge whether the facts happened. I don't think that's a very good argument for them. All right I agree well. Thank you so much. Everybody check out the feds pod with our good friend here former US attorney former Deputy Assistant Attorney General Harry Littman.
