"Whatever they happen, I'm Greg Rice on 10 10 wins The post election battle is on. Multiple media outlets, including The Associated Press, have now called Wisconsin for Joe Biden ahead of that the Trump campaign had already demanded a recount. Correspondent in ESD. Ay la guitarra reports in a statement, Trump campaign manager Bill Stepien writing quote, there have been reports of irregularities in several Wisconsin counties, which raise serious doubts about the validity of the results. The president is well within the threshold to request a recount, and we will immediately do so and quote it is possible to request a recount in Wisconsin if the margin between the two candidates is within 1% point. With 99% of the votes in in Wisconsin, Biden had 49 0.4% versus 48.78 for the president. Wisconsin is not the only state being challenged by the Trump campaign. They're filing a lawsuit toe hold the counting of votes in Michigan until they're given access to observe the tabulation process. In Pennsylvania. Joe Biden is behind. But officials there say there's still a lot of votes to count. Here's correspondent Mark Millar, Sylvania Governor Tom Wolfe, urging people to remain calm and be patient is balance continued to be tallied. You may not know the results even today. But the most important thing is that we have accurate results again, even if that takes a little longer than we're used to. Pennsylvania Secretary of State says poll workers are working around the clock to count more than a million outstanding mail in ballots that includes some 400,000 in Philadelphia, which is expected to favor Biden. ABC News, political analyst Steve Roberts tells 10 10 wins why the Keystone State could be at the center of this battle. State Supreme Court of Pennsylvania has ruled that a ballot lotteries are postmarked Election Day but received up to three days after can be counted in the federal Supreme Court has twice refused to take that case. But the president is going to bring it again to the federal court. While the president had threatened to go to the high court to try and stop the counting of legitimate mail in ballots now, it looks like they're going to try and make that move. Campaign says it is suing to stop the counting in Pennsylvania know over what they call a lack of transparency, and they are asking the Supreme Court to intervene. Biden campaign advisor Bob Bauer says not goingto happen. We're going to defend This vote. The vote by which Joe Biden has been elected to the presidency and this attempt, as has been shown throughout all of their efforts around the country on their part to defeat The voter's intent to undermine the democracy is absolutely certain to fail. Currently, seven states have yet to be called. Biden is ahead in Michigan, Arizona and Nevada, which have a combined 33 electoral votes. Biden currently has 237 verses to 13 for the president. So just do the math. That means if he wins those three states, he wins the race and would not need Pennsylvania. At all. We expect to hear from Joe Biden. Now at four o'clock, 10 10 wins..

Trump gets experimental drug aimed at curbing severe illness

"Spending his first night in hospital after being diagnosed with covert 19. The White House said that Mr Trump would continue to work using a special accommodation. Sweet. His deputy Mike Pence, will not assume any presidential duties. Well. The U. S presidential election has been thrown disarray following the announcement of the president's positive diagnosis at 74 years of age and also being obese. The president is at higher risk of serious complications from the disease. He's admission to the Walter Reed Military Hospital in Washington, where he'll undergo medical tests has been described as a precautionary measure. In a video on Twitter, the president thank everybody for their support. I want to thank everybody for the tremendous support. I'm going too watery hospital. I think I'm doing very well. But we're going to make sure that things work out. The first lady is doing very well. So thank you very much. I appreciate it. I will never forget. Thank you. In a statement, His doctor said he'd been given rendez severe a drug designed to prevent lung shut down. Mr Trump is currently not needing supplementary oxygen. Well before being airlifted to hospital. President Trump received an experimental drug to attack the virus. It's a synthetic antibody cocktail, which hasn't yet being tested on a large scale manufactured by the biotech firm Re general. Craig Spencer is an E R doctor in New York and raised these questions about the use of the medication. We hope that it works. It seems quite promising. It does seem a little strange. I think that many people, including myself to be trying an experiment, experimental medication on the president, but at the same time You know, we want to make sure of course, that the president is well it's early in his illness, so I don't think it's completely unreasonable. A lot of it would depend on the actual symptoms of president is having The disease course and really confrontation with his physicians to know whether or not this was a Dr Craig Spencer will. The BBC's Peter Bose gave me the latest on the president and his current state of health. We know that the president's Twitter feed is active again. President from tweeting from his hospital at 11 30 in the evening on It was a short, Tootie said Going well, I think thank you to all Love on DH. We've also heard from his doctor in the last few hours with a similar message that the president, he says he's doing very well not requiring any oxygen. But, he says in consultation with the specialists of the hospital, they have decided to initiate severe, which is the anti viral medication that we've heard quite a lot about. Over recent months that shone some promising results in helping patients get over the virus, especially if it's administered during the early stages. He, of course, walked to the helicopter before he was then transported to hospital on part of that, presumably was about sending out a signal to the American people. Clearly it wass. This happened after I think this is significant after the markets had closed in the U. S. I think it has happened before then it would have sent jitters air around the financial Community would already seen that over the previous 24 hours. But yes, I think it was staged Managed. We saw some short footage didn't take very long for president. Want to get into his helicopter. He was talking about a 10 minute ride to the hospital, and we saw him emerge. He walked himself is dressed in his suit. It looked like the president Trump that we're used to seeing on DH. What we've heard since he entered the hospital seems to reflect that that he's doing all right. Although we understand he is Suffering from some of the early stage symptoms. The mild symptoms that we've heard about in relation to many of the people who have suffered from this virus and assuming he stays reasonably well. The plan is for him to continue working while he's in hospital. Yes, He's in a suite on executive suite in the hospital that is designed for situations like this. They've treated presidents in the past. So he has a ll the apparently all the paraphernalia there for a president to operate it in terms of security needs and the communication Needs it. We are told that the possibility is there for him to continue working, and significantly, he is still in control. He is still running the country and the White House has been at pains to point out that the husband in any way Transition of power to Mike Pence. The vice president, which would happen if the president was so sick that he couldn't carry out his duties. In the meantime, off course we are in the middle ofthe on election campaign. Where does that go amidst All this? That's the big question. We've also, interestingly heard in the last few hours. That's the Trump campaign manager. Bill Stepien has positive Testa's wealth that perhaps the most interesting thing that I've learned in the last couple of hours. Is that the complain plans to launch surrogates or stand ins for in person events. In other words, those close to President Trump will be standing in at events. We can only assume that will be similar to some of the rallies that we've seen the president holding in recent weeks, and those people include the vice President, Mike Pence. "It's all things considered from NPR news. I'm Mary Louise Kelly that I'm Ari Shapiro. It's Day two of the Republican National Convention last night speakers took an apocalyptic view of what would happen if President Trump doesn't win in November, hears how his son Donald Trump Jr. Contrast it President Trump against Vice President Biden. It's almost like this election is shaping up to be church work in school versus rioting, looting and vandalism. Tonight's keynote speaker will be first lady Melania Trump, and she is expected to take a more positive you here to preview the evening is NPR national political correspondent Mara Liasson. Hi, Mara. Hiring Tell us more about the first lady's role tonight. Well, you know, with the exception of Michelle Obama, who was a cultural icon, first ladies are generally not the most important speakers at conventions, but they do have the power to humanize their spouse, the president and validate his character in a way that other speakers can. There was some controversy when Melania strong. Trump spoke of the convention in 2016, because some of the lines in her speech were identical. To one of Michelle Obama's speeches, but her chief of staff, Stephanie Grisham, said today on MSNBC that that is not gonna happen This time. I can tell you that every word in this speech is from her. It's very authentic, and it's going to come from the heart, so we're really excited for people to hear from her. It will be one of her longer speeches that she's given. And I think the American people will be really excited to hear some of the things that she's going to say. You know, the setting for Melania speeches also controversial she's going to appear in the Rose Garden of the White House that's traditionally been off limits for partisan politics. But the president has violated that norm repeatedly, and Grisham says the White House is her home. And even though the staff her staff are subject to the Hatch Act, which limits the kind of political activities they could be involved in First ladies are not subject to the hatchback, and Grisham says everyone on her staff has been very careful to abide by the rules. Another speech that will be given from a controversial location tonight, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in Jerusalem. How unusual is that? Very unusual. Secretaries of state don't usually mix policy and politics. There's even a State Department memo that says department officials can't advocate for a candidate can't attend political conventions. But Pompeo says his staff says he's speaking in his personal capacity. And his remarks were taped in Jerusalem. Of course, That's where President Trump move the U. S embassy to when he took office, and he's been very open about the domestic political reasons for that, he said last week. The reason I moved the embassy was quote for the evangelicals. Very important part of his base. The whole goal is to persuade voters. So where does the race stand today? Well, that's pretty interesting because it doesn't look like Joe Biden got much of a bounce from his convention doesn't seem to have pulled the president's numbers down or Biden's numbers up very much so the race is stuck. Biden still has a lead. It's very stable, it's narrower in the battleground states. But we have seen big leads disappear in the past. Mike Dukakis came out of his convention with a 17 point bounce. Of course, he lost the election to George H. W. Bush and today at a political event, Trump's campaign manager, Bill Stepien, laid out A path for how they think Trump can win. He pointed out correctly. That all president has to do is when one of the three key states Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, without losing any of the other states. He won in 2016, and he will be re elected, and he even expressed optimism about flipping some states. They didn't win last time. Like New Hampshire, Maine, Minnesota, Nevada. So lot that can happen in 70 days. Just briefly. What did you make of the way the Republicans address the corona virus pandemic last night? I think the Republicans made a big effort to deal with what is the president's biggest liability his net negative rating on how he's handled the pandemic. The president has been trying to do this for sometime himself, appearing at the White House every day to talk about all the things that he's done, but this was a bigger audience. Lot of validators come out, but it's hard to see how even four days of a convention would be enough to move public opinion on this. Because he spent months downplaying the virus in daily TV appearances. Alright, NPR's Mara Liasson, Thank you. Thank you. It was August 25th 2016 4 years ago Today the head of the CIA was briefing Harry Reid, then the top Democrat in the Senate, one of a Siri's of urgent classified briefings that month to the most senior lawmakers in Congress. The message that Russia was actively working to elect Donald Trump president. Well, here we are four years later to the day. And U. S intelligence is publicly warning that Russia is still at it now actively working to re elect Donald Trump as president on this anniversary of sorts seemed a good moment to take stock. And to do that we have called someone who was in the room who led countless classified briefings on Russia in the run up to and the aftermath of the 2016 vote. Mike Rogers ran the National Security Agency and commanded U. S Cyber Command for President Obama and then stayed on to serve President Trump Admiral welcomed all things considered. Thank you. It's a pleasure to be with you today, so let's look back before we look ahead four years ago. Exactly How much did we know about what Russia was up to? We collectively the intelligence community in the United States government. We had an awareness that the Russians had been attempting to penetrate the computer systems. The networks of Political parties in the United States on by the summer of 16. Collectively, we, the US intelligence community had come to the conclusions that we were dealing with a systematic Effort on the part of the Russians. To attempt to Through a cyber and disinformation largely through social media. But using those capabilities to influence the outcome of the US election, did we do enough to try to stop them? Well, I think in fairness, everybody involved while we had some level of knowledge in the summer of 2016..

"Read our skull. Jeff Pooja has more with a B C's Katherine Walters. What really led up to this change? If you want to point out that that led up to this change, we can really look at that rally. In Tulsa, For example, this news come nearly a month after what many close on the president viewed as catastrophic error. You remember the campaign promise that one million people are thieves. They promised the full arena and clearly didn't get what they want it there, So we looked down and we know that the president was furious with her. After that, Brad parked down the now former campaign manager. But I think it's also worth pointing out. That part down also didn't come from a political background running campaigns. He was the former digital director of the last campaign. He didn't have that on the ground experience that you need to run a political campaign and the president did. Finally, it appears that he has realized that and Emoted, the deputy campaign manager, Bill Stepien, not a household name. But Bill Stepien does have a lot of political experience. He actually is a former New Jersey governor. Chris Christie's former campaign manager, then went into the Trump White House run the political operation. He was a political director there before going to the campaign. This is nothing that we saw in 2016 President Trump Go through. I think it was at least three campaign managers yet Corey Lou in Taos Ski, Paul Manafort and then ultimately, Kelly Conway. That's right. And a lot of folks sources who I've talked Teo and spoken to about this. Remind me of that timeline from 2016. You know, when I question whether it is too late. That Bill is coming in Bill Stepien coming in. Well, the Trump campaign be able to turn this around, They say, Well, look at all the shake up that we had. In 2016 with those names that you just mentioned Corey loaned out Paul Manafort, Kellyanne Conway, you name them, So look, Sort of that. I'm spoken Teo at the Trump campaign, A say. They believe that the president can win win the election but say, you know question whether this change is really going to help anything they say it comes down to the candidate himself is Donald Trump. Willing to make a change here. So that's something that you know we will continue. What? What are we expecting this new campaign manager to do to change? It is a great question, And actually is the question that has been raised to need by campaign sources as well. I think one concern that I'm Cheering and that that I've felt for some time from inside the Trump campaign is not. It doesn't matter who runs the campaign the day to day operation because the president's son in law and senior advisor Jared Kushner, who works at the White House, Still has a very heavy hand in the campaign sources have described to me that he still has to sign off on every decision, so that, of course, is not publicly known. It's behind the scenes and what are sources are telling us but They question whether this is, you know, really going to make a change. Now, Bill Stepien does have that expertise Brown game. He has been with the campaign for a while studying. Those swing states. Those states that will be important and crucial to the president's reelection, So I think we will also bring him in at expertise. Brad Marsala is staying on the campaign that works more but shift back into that kind of digital director role that he had before. In the Phoenix area. "Big news we have to touch upon it. At the campaign, a shakeout brand. Pasquale, who was the big man has bean put down to a secondary position. He is the master of all things. Digital talk to us about the significance of yesterday's decision and who this new individual in charge really is mad. Yeah, I look so Bill Stepien is taking over is the campaign manager. He's a former Chris Christie, 80 also was the political director in the White House for the first couple years, but the Trump administration he's very qualified guy. I haven't had the chance of meeting or speaking with Bill Stepien yet I hope that I do get that opportunity and down the road. But from everything that I hear about him and from different people around the movement and that have dealt with him very competent. Ah, decision by the president in ads for Brad Parse cow. Brad's also very competent in what he does best, which is data in analytics and really zoning in on the technology side of things right. He comes from the tech background and in that world the he was like the founder of Start up. Tech company down Austin, Texas. So what the president seems to be doing here is kind of moving his players around on the fields. Try toe, you know, get the best that he can out of them, right? Bill Stepien is much more of a political operation Structural guy right like that's what he did for Christie. That's what he did in the White House, and that's what he's going to do now is the campaign manager. Where's Brad's much more of a tech guru type guy, right leg? And so this freeze brat up to go do Tech stuff, and it allows Bill Stepien to really run the logistics of the campaign in the final three through, you know, three months or so here until Election Day. I think we're 110 111 days until election day. So this allows Bill Stepien Teo to focus on that stuff. And so it's kind of Ah, it's It's not really like Brad. Par scales out type of thing is more of a reorganization. On. This is kind of what the president is. Private sector history is done best he recognizes when he needs to make, you know some changes, And so hopefully this war. This will kind of give the campaign the flexibility and the juice that they need to kind of turn some of this around that we're seeing in some of these bat poles that we're seeing some of this some of the battleground states and kind of get off the Off to the races because as soon as Trump gets this all sorted out all the structural stuff in the message, and so on and so forth. He's going to be right back up there with Joe Biden. So all these people that are right in Trump's obituary right now, I think they're doing so very prematurely. I think they're making a mistake. They did the same thing in 2016 where they coronated Hillary Clinton back in the summer. You and they were so wrong about it. On and I think there's a lot of similarities between now and 2016. It's not the same election. There are differences, key differences, but the you know there's also a lot of similarities between now and 20. So to us. You're really you know, Beltway inside that you've been observing these things for years. It is par for the course on left and right Republican and Democrat Tohave campaign. Shake ups or repositioning is very normal in the months before election. Is it not very normal. And by the way, the president's campaign in 2016 had a TTE least three different generations. Right? Like so there was the Roger Stone Sam number, Gara. Then there was the Cory Lou in Taos, Kierra. Then there was the Paul Manafort air..

"If you know how to read between the lines and she, we rest assured that there an army of people who oppose him and his policies. They're working silently entire asleep to make sure he does not cause harm to the Republic. Many in this silent army are in his party's administration, even his family. Okay. And here is all morosi speculating on the writer yesterday on the hill, the hills put up some names on my Twitter, not to be coy or anything, but I suspect it. I put Johnny DiStefano wild. I also put a Bill Stepien who is the political director for the Trump White House. And then I put up Nick Ayers and they put a poll Twitter and everybody chosen heirs who is out of vice president Pence is office. I went back through so of my emails and some of the documents that came out of the vice president's office. And I have to tell you that this op-ed is very similar to the style and the communication that comes out of his shop. And the reason I put up speculation Corinne is that it does feel like the other alternative explanation for why now is that this person may actually also be trying to present to Republicans at alternate version of reality that they could have later. Right. That may be the end game is have all of Trump's policies tax deregulation mentioned in the op-ed, but may be moved from out and get Mike Pence that this is a way to EMMY set up more rivalry between Trump and Pence make Trump this trust Mike Pence, and your use lodestar a lot. That is some of the speculation too, because. We are already seeing per axios White House aides are using this op-ed to try to throw people. They don't like under the bus and get them out of the administration to create a purge. I Is it. am. I thinking to three dimensional chess that think that this could actually be somebody just trying to help his party by presenting an opportunity to purge people. They don't like, and we'll be left with just the tax cut people. Yeah, the problem with that joy and I understand what you're saying. Because from the beginning of this administration, there's been this purging right when Steve Bannon was around when Priebus was around. They were all kind of telling on each other and trying to purge each other out in those two are gone now..
