Nike, ServiceNow and SAP CEOs play a game of musical chairs

"Soon because Tuesday morning under armor announced Kevin Plank is stepping down as CEO in January and then later in the day on Tuesday sort of late after a new Nike announced that CEO Mark Parker also stepping down in January he's going to be replaced by John Donahoe who is a Ward member at Nike he is also the CEO of Software Company called service now so he'll be he's been CEO there for nearly three years he's going to be leaving and and Bill McDermott who a couple of weeks ago stepped down or was forced out depending on which version of events you decide to believe he left sap after being CEO for nearly a decade he's now going to be the CEO service now so the musical chairs continuous. Let's let's start with Nike and shares down a little bit on the news and probably not a surprise when you consider Parker's been running this company since two thousand six and if you're a shareholder her under his tenure you have done very very well Oh yeah you're you're quite happy so parker was the second CEO at at Nike following tonight and he took over in two thousand six but there's probably been some I know there have been rumors at least that CEO succession at Nike is Being Thought About for instance three years ago after China chief Michael Sperling was promoted to President Product Marketing and that was his fifth promotion in ninety here so he's moving up the ranks pretty quickly people were wondering Oh is he being groomed as as the next successor but there was also C. C. O. exp Bronx and Brand President Trevor Edwards and the latter man gentleman especially with seen as as the primary contender but then a couple of years ago Edwards was forced out in March of two thousand eighteen amid amid allegations of inappropriate behavior and will leave it at that so Parker's a comment yes Yesterday during an interview that hey this has been months in the planning you don't do this just a couple of weeks is probably true but I'm I'm kind of wondering what the timing has to do with I mean under armor announces a plank stepping down and he says Oh maybe we want to get on that news to or is it more related to the drug doping thing that's I've been coming out and whether Parker knew about it or not and the speculation there or is it just hey today just happen to be the same day that all this other stuff was coming up yeah and and the drug doping thing that you mentioned that's a relief to Alberta Salazar coach ty did Nike over the last few weeks some stories have come out about that and then and then and the extent to which Parker knew about that so some some questions around that I find the timing fascinating because I just thought there's no way or you're going to have a very our time convincing me that this is a coincidence I mean all things being equal because Nike has been the clear leader in the category for so long and even plank has been very clear in his time at under armor you know running the company he was gunning for Nike the whole time right in most situations I would believe that under armor maybe got wind of this and they moved up their announcement and actually think in this situation I think it's the reverse I think that Nike may have just decided you know what we're gonNA announce this later this week or maybe we're we're going to tie to our earnings report you know what let's just do this right now so maybe when plank says okay I'm out in Percocet yes score column win column there we go so let's talk about Donohoe for a second I don't know a ton about him what I do We know is that his experience as an executive is very much in the tech space as I may have service now software company he was an executive at Ebay who is the CEO of EIB. Yeah the chief executive for years and made a bunch of acquisitions onto there so I think if you are a Nike shareholder again it's only down a couple of percentage points I don't think that's necessarily a knock on Donohoe I think that's more just Parker's done such a great job it's it's it's natural to see a trump a little bit but I think if you're if you're looking at the elevations donohoe it's it's with an eye towards his tech experience and Nike increasingly relying on technology to move product right and and and I think again the narrative is that that's why the White was named he has been a director for a couple of years at Nike who was the CEO of Ebay for seven eight years until Twenty fifteen is been the chairman pal he oversaw the spinoff of pay pal from Ebay but that was kind of forced upon him and Ebay by Carl ICAHN activision activision active what what's the word activism activism thank you but he's expected to come into Nike and use his tech savvy to probably continue the digital transformation that has really been driving some good results for Nike They've got their Nike plus membership they're getting being able to get more personalized in their advertising for that and they're seeing some big up responses to that and along with that awesome product tracking and inventory management a lot a lot of good things are happening with Nike from a Tech Perspective and I think Donna who's GonNa continue that maybe a better indicator Keke shareholders is what's happening with shares of service now because that's down about ten percent since it was announced go the donnas leaving let's move on to another great quarter for AAA same store sales such a crucial metric for any restaurant out there up eleven percent rent nearly two percentage points higher than expected the stock is down close to five percent today is that just because of the run that it has had to this point because it's been on an amazing tear it could be that well let me hit some of the points and then connect to that there were other numbers so cops I think that was the big I number and really kind of surprised eleven percent is huge when your restaurant seven and a half percent of that was on transactions that's more people buy more stuff three and a half percent was on average check with about two and a half of that coming from price increases last year but the fact that they're getting more digital orders and digital orders tend to be larger sized checks for that and that's the the present com is higher than what they've had all year q one ten percent Kutu now eleven present Q. Three though this little certainly make next to your harder harder to beat but that aside the digital thing is really going up they sought eighty eight percent increase in sales of digital orders and now there's like eighteen percent of total sales so that's pretty good and the rewards club is is really beginning to play into that and so they also said they're going to Open some more of there drive through and literally that's drive through you don't stop to order you just try to go and pick up pick up the stuff and that's tied into their didn't digital sales as well but why are the shares down five percent maybe it's well the the the the company's shares have had a fantastic runner up twenty percent since the any of June maybe investors saying hey that was a great quarter thank you very much and could take some money off the table maybe it's a bunch of the analyst not raising their their expectations AH bunch of analysts came out with higher price targets but nobody actually moved there from hold to outperform or market perform. to overweight or whatever the languages but you look at the job that Brian Nickel has done as CEO and Yeah quarter after quarter Cipolla has delivered under his leadership and it may be that the stock has entered that territory that we see from time to time when businesses have a great the three year run and it's essentially this was a phenomenal quarter but it wasn't perfect because now because we're greedy we wanna see you beating on everything and Radi race and guidance headed almost did meet on everything but actually I think I know why the shares were down it was announced that they're limited time Carne Asada meat product it is going to run off November so everyone's disappointed angry and where do you think and again let me just catch Thanks I don't think there's any pressure whatsoever on Brian Nichols given the job that he's done but I'm curious where you think the growth for AAA comes over the next three years because there was a point in this business history when they were doing so well with the namesake concept that people were looking to the shop house Asian cuisine concept as that's where future growth is gonNA come from we're not going to get as many locations as we have AAA but we're going to get you know a few hundred those have essentially been closed down so do they begin to resurrect some of those ideas or do you think it's just more digital more locations and finding ways to bump up the average ticket price I don't think they're going to go into other concepts quite yet of given their experience they're probably a little gun shy right there that might come down that might come to pass down the road I think they're going to push more into digital and get more people ordering in so they can just walk in and walk out and pick up their stuff that as well as the drive through what they call chip Elaine get terrible name right actually it's kind of funny but I mean reaction it's it's it's it's no worse than the estimate forces on us getting the name aside I think that's going to be a really good driver for the company and that means they can open a second product line of just fulfilling orders through that go through more digital sales and as well as having more customers come through the doors so I think that's where the growth is going to be trial various things Carne Asada apparently did very well well are they going to bring in some breakfast at some point probably so I think they're going to continue expanding what they're working on focusing on their cordial police thing and then maybe a few years down the road might start thinking about other concept's

"Just a spoiler alert warning here in case you taped the women's World Cup match and you do not want to know the results we're going to talk about that right now. So reach for the radio dial Bill McDermott, you remember the ill-fated decision Bill that I made last year I said, you know what you put me in front of a professional goalie. And I could kick a couple of balls. And we, we know how big of a failure that was can I reverse it here? And say could I have kept more goals out of the net today than the goalie for Thailand? Now, clearly I could not have but my my series question on that note is how can a team like this qualify for the World Cup. For those people who don't know he was thirteen nil as we say, in the soccer world. Well, it just goes to show you Mark was quite a few things with reference to today's game, the big gap between these countries and adding more countries to the overall world. Cup competition. It may not be ready for that yet. But when you get thirteen goals against anyone irrespective of who it is w times, a seasoned veteran that certainly making a statement now I think I can answer your next question, which I may see as coming next wise score. Thirteen. Well, yeah, is there in other words is there for the tournament to have? Did you get points based on goaling for future rounds? I, I wasn't sure around, but in the opening round the there are groups of three, Mark. You're also in a group with Sweden and Chile Sweden of beat chilly today by score to nothing. So consequently right now, the two teams are even with three points apiece. Now gets most probable almost certain that the United States is going to get all nine points with a win over Sweden, and a win over Chile. Most probably certainly not definitely a the number one ranked team in the world. And they showed that today going in. But with reference to the goal differential, that is the first decider if indeed United States would be tied with either sweetener chilly going out of the game. So if you're tied on points, you look at goal differential, but pretty much after seven eight nine ten eleven stop the fight stopped the fight. And most importantly, when you have four forwards on the seals in the eighty six minute and your fist pumping when you score the ten eleven. That's a Nike. That is enough. They're excellent. They're the best team in the world. No question whatsoever. The result proved that they're the best soccer players in the world. No question about that. But this is bad. Okay. Well, I'm glad you said that because I have monitors and you know, I was watching that. And I thought I'm glad they're winning. But when I saw rapid, no. For example, just fist pumping at goal ten or eleven. I thought okay maybe back on that, Bill. I gotta go. But thank you for the update this afternoon, always appreciated. Thank you, Bill. And it's you know, it's really kind of amazing this company they have see combinations. Yes. But probably this time of year. Maybe you want plants invade God plants. They have thirty thousand square feet of growing spaces. They have any place between fifty and sixty. Varieties different varieties of wildflowers the specialty type wildflowers and everything else. So pure air natives, you can't beat them. There's no getting around it. They see during the course of the entire year. They can have up to five hundred thousand plants, and I mean, top quality plant material. It's not like you could go in there and look at them, and you some places you go into and see oh gosh. They haven't water these things for several days. Look how wilted they are stuff. Like that. These people are totally dedicated to this whole concept of the wildflowers of the midwest, Missouri specifically, so if you want more information about peer air natives what plant material they have. Sometimes it's great to grow things from seed. But sometimes it's nice to just put a plant in the ground and watch that plant grow from the moment it.

"And you choose these entrepreneurs or big success. The other always entrepreneurs that's my impression. Most of the time. They've have at least some kind of an entrepreneurial bent at some point Bill McDermott was the first person. I didn't he is the head of a p, but he started off when he was a teenager. He bought a deli. And he was an incredible entrepreneur, really good leader. But so he had entrepreneurial stuff in his background. And then he worked his way up through Xerox before he went to SAP, but it was his leadership ability. It was an incredible driving force. And that's what your goal was you decided in the research that his main thing was he was phenomenal leader. And you wanted to show how that worked is that what typically would be a way you'd formulate your storyline there by a graphical. So you can wanna make sure. Sure that there are peaks and valleys through our story most business anyway. Yeah. Sure. But some of them are bigger than others and some of them, hey off more. What makes a great counted? Other than peaks and valleys, do they have to be good on air like causes some phenomenally successful people that put a camera in front of them. And they look boring. What happens is that important requirement. I guess. Yeah. You want to make sure that they're a good storyteller. How do you know that most people of this level have done some kind of an interview? Oh, so you just check out your interview. Yeah. You can see them online at conferences or lectures that they've given if it hasn't been television interview. Okay. So you check that off your list, you check off the peaks and valleys on the list. What else goes into making one of these phenomenal stories we say, well, then you have to have good surrogate. People good people around them to talk about them. But don't people kind of kiss everybody's. But in power like I've since that sometimes in my life like is that guy loving me or kissing my? But. And usually the answer is kissing my butt and acting like he's loving me. It would be that we have. He's amazing. He's amazing. Yeah. Yeah. Exactly. You want people that are going to be truthful with you about the problems that this person has gone through and the struggles that they've seen and you want to talk about different parts of their life. And sometimes people won't give us that whole breath. They decide that their personal life is too personal. And they really want to concentrate on business. But then you take them, right? Oh, if you listen say now, we're gonna chew sometimes we'll still do it. And I guess the business and must be so rich and interesting that makes up for that said he'll either that or they're willing to talk about it. But they just don't have somebody else that can talk about it as well. It's fine. You can work around that. Yeah. Yeah. And what about if someone on the tape says something terrible about the person? Let's say it's a friend not an employee who supposed was a friend. She supposes a friendly guys really asshole. What do you do with that? Because I would I don't know that because we haven't run across night yet. I haven't heard any of that members of my family. They say that to me. I don't know why they didn't say to you. Do you really have a run across anything really negative that you think that's great TV? But we'd better not put it in. And we'd better clean it up a bit. No never. Okay. I guess that depends on who the person you're profiling directs you to speak to write. I would never send you one of my enemies. But sometimes we'll interview people that we think would be a good person to talk about this person as well. So it's oh, yes. Hi, see. Yeah. We take their recommendations. And then we sometimes throw other people in the mix as well. Wow. So tell me who you've interviewed that you were sitting there thinking Cottam lucky to be here, and here this who I think most people that I have you are in the right business. I got because everybody has a fascinating story everybody that guy on the street. Telling papers can have a fascinating story without a doubt. But people don't listen to the guy in the street so much right yet. Which is a shame. And sometimes they tell the best stories. Absolutely. Yeah..

Well, Kerry went from being a farm boy to be in a radio. Boy. Oh, I could I could play the cancer card. That's easy. That's love. Love cancer. Speakers of people do that. I've never done that. Because I it seems disingenuous to me. You should be a cancer because I'm hardly a hero. I just laid there. The doctors are doctors did everything I do I didn't beat cancer. The doctors did that I just laid there which is why I never get asked to speak about things. Like you. Would you insist that they not put that in your area that he fought a courageous and one of courageous battle with cancer. Yeah. They will not be you will not be in the in the battery if I even have one I don't know that's up to sue. I'll be gone. That's her thing. You don't care is. She feels like doing it. And then she'll do it. I keep thinking I should write my own. You should. But I don't believe that to your family to do. Is obsessed as you are with a bit. You're like them. I think you should do it. I probably should write my own. Yeah. Right. Your own to say here. I took care of that for you. But then, but then they'll probably go. Oh, no. That's terrible. Although he shouldn't say that because I'd be I would I would not be too. I would not be very complimentary. Well, that's what that's what obituaries are supposed to be. They're supposed to be they're supposed to they're supposed to think of nice things to say about. You're not supposed to lie though. I don't think you should lie. Why Bill was a war hero? "Came with Sally radio show last night where I played the dispensary. Onery. Colorado. I did this mash up last year with and the waitresses one of my favorite Christmas song Christmas, wrapping. This one on vinyl in my basement. All right. Second hour here. We do have an audio cut the day coming up this afternoon. Chris has sports in the four o'clock hour, we'll get into Alex Stegman has this year. I heard it this morning actually, really interesting, and we're gonna air it for a couple of days this week, David. We got going here Tuesday Wednesday Thursday for Alex's series. Alex segment put this seriously about food, and there's lots of food this time year what the how to eat it what to cook the Turkey temperature. So I part of that series this afternoon, we are joined right now by sir. Soccer Bill McDermott to talk about. A basketball. Aren't we Bill? Well, first of all Mark first of all changing Chong career knives. What four names tundra up the holiday environment sold in those four, right? That's that's the grouping right there. There's no doubt about you know, it's funny because when I was growing up in the seventies I had a cousin who's a little older, and he was the one that introduced me to Cheech and Chong. And if you remember, I think, you know, that's the one thing about Milana changes, the music business has changed a lot. Don't you kind of miss the the old fashioned comedy album? I know you can get these things on YouTube and people have podcast and all that stuff. But you know in the nineteen seventies. I think into the eighties George carlin's records and Cheech, and Sean and Bill Cosby go back and back that was kind of cool to have all that stuff on. Absolute very first one. I remember, and I still have it is something that Jerry Seinfeld. References all the time that he listened to on a regular basis the button down mind of Bob Newhart. Oh, that's a great. Right. Yeah. That was Br Bob Newhart suffering. The sixties was brilliant. Comet prior to that from up in the Catskills. Allan Sherman, absolutely fast. My son the nut. My son the folksinger tremendous stuff. So just since we're on this note right now. And by the way, the the one that I remember listening to when I was a kid. My dad had the George Carlin. The seven words you can't see on TV and all that kind of swiping that record and listening to have you watched on Amazon prime of the adventures of MRs Mazel. So what does it? I can't I called MRs Mazel all the time. But I think it's the outstanding. Now, I can't even remember the damn name. This is what happens I S E Elliott. Yes. Marvelous sorry, I'm doing what my mom does. All the time. My mom miss paralysis, not mispronounces bit, call things by different names. I always point to PF changs. She she'd call the PJ Chang's. So now, I call it that, but yeah, it's the marvelous MRs Mazel, but it's about in. It's it's loosely based I think on Joan rivers, and it's set in the late nineteen fifties in this character. And it's really a great show the second season just started lives in New York. And her husband wants to be a stand up comic. The problem is he's got no talent. And she does. And she gives up on stage drunk one night and starts ripping off these great bits in. It's just a really really cool show, and there's references to real comedians. Whether it's a Bob Newhart or Lenny, Bruce, and some of the bits that they were doing. So from that perspective, historically, it's rather accurate in would highly recommended. I think you'd like it. Okay. I'll try let's talk about basketball here. It's the. Just to the Mary Mukta right now. I don't know how we got there from there, but we got their Bill. So that's. It's our Faneuil Mark. We started this. When our daughter Mary passed away next Friday will be ten years, December twenty first a local perish Imaculada where we are members and a friend of mine from that Perry. Steve Manningly knew that our family wanted to do something to commemorate the mayor of the memory Mary at cardinal Glennon. And also wanted to do something that hadn't been done in the archdiocese before. And that was third graders start off playing basketball tournament trying to marry. So here we are in our chance gear it's December twenty seven twenty eight and twenty nine next week. If that's the amac a lot of gymnasium, which is literally literally right up the street from the gallery, it's an eighty nine hundred Clayton road. And Mark we've been fortunate so far to raise three hundred eighty four thousand and determine hasn't even started yet. That's amazing ready. We're already over the four hundred thousand dollar Mark for this year. So all bodes well for the ten Daniel. So how does this? How does this work from here on? What are you looking for still teams at this point that you have all the teams you looking for folks to show up because you have silent auction items and things along those lines as well. We do we do we have some magnificent items. The blue is in calls have always stepped up Carlos have given us a forty person cardinal sweet all inclusive for game April. We have terrorists. Cinco. Autographed. Shirt tickets to a blues games. We have a spirit of sT Louis Marvin Barnes uniform. Autographed by the spirit's announcer one. Bob cossio. Yeah. How about that? We have when we have a flagstick flag signed masters, by the way, signed by the two thousand fifteen winter.

"Of enterprise holdings. Also Lewis read light a cruise and Jim Cavanaugh. Welcome back to the days, Sinclair, Lincoln and Ford sports of line. Chris rayvey with you came our guy. Bill McDermott's soccer joins us now on the program Bill. How are you? I know it's been busy and exciting day for you. Yeah. Very much. So Chris and great job there. I'm sure Ben Boyd put together or did you put that together? Yeah. Let's not very nicely done. Very nice. It has got all has got all the major bullet points hundred percent hundred percent local ownership group majority female with already existing ties to the community in business and philanthropy. A vast majority. If indeed not all Chris of the entire proposal will be privately funded an overall commitment to not just get into the league. All we got a team. But a team that's going to excel on the field and get greatly involved in the community show. The all inclusive aspect of the makeup of your soccer team should be the same makeup of people in society. And no sports. No sport does that better. And finally an overall new look at MLS in a different capacity that would continue to further Saint Louis existing rich soccer heritage for decades to come. So it's a wonderful day for Saint Louis soccer. A plus all the way around it's a win win scenario. Now, you just have to get a team. So you can build that stadium. Yeah. Counted your point. And this is maybe just something that like I noticed. But if you go to the us for the. Blue website, you can view it in English Spanish or Bosnian, which peaks a lot about this community and let let's just get the off out of the way and not to put you on the spot. And I know maybe a handful of people know the answer to this. But it just strikes me that knowing what the MLS said the last go round even before the failed vote and knowing the acumen of the people involved right now Bill it would surprise me. If they would unveil these plans today and not have some level of certainty that if you build it, they will come is that fair you think I'll take that is indeed fair. I don't know what to be a hundred percent factual. I just don't believe me, Chris. I'm not involved in those type of conversations. I'm and I'm gonna follow and I'm gonna help in any capacity. But I really don't know the answer to that. But nonetheless, Saint Louis fulfills every every topic that the league has said. And his documented time and time again when they were looking at potential expansion site since inception league ninety six number one. Do you have a solid local ownership group? Yes is the answer to that. Resoundingly? Be do you have a salad committed stadium plant and the wherewithal do pay for it? Yes, obviously. And see this is the easiest of all do you have an existing soccer culture in your city. So that the sport does it have to be explained to your spectators. So three wins that our role there for Saint Louis along with this tremendously. Solid ownership group is full speed ahead. I give a lot of credit, and I think credit needs to be given to the previous ownership group that involved Paul edge Lee, and Jim Cavanaugh part of it for laying the groundwork. And I think that a lot of folks expected if they got the kind of April turnout that they ended up. The polls that would have gotten through. And maybe we would be, you know, eighteen months ahead of schedule. But I also think that it says a lot about the community about the Taylor family about Jim Cavanaugh as well that when they said there was no plan B. Apparently, they went back to drawing board, and they tried to figure this out Bill again, regardless what happens over the next one year two years three years. I think that that's something that Saint Louis since can be proud of. Okay. Let's say you played a bad first half in the end result was going into the locker room with a defeat because of the April four vote in two thousand seventeen while your coach talk to you and brought a different I eleven out. Now, you have a brand new, and I meet a brand new scenario to look at the overall expansion potential of the city the league has set a numeral occasions. Chris we've talked about this. We've mentioned it nauseam. Yes. Indeed. They want to come to Saint Louis. They realize they really. The rich tradition here, but not just tradition. The continuing expansion of all the continual players the new fields and being smack dab in the middle of the country to link up with Dallas, Houston, Chicago, Kansas City, Columbus little farther up east. But nonetheless, these sport the overall aspect of soccer in the United States, and the degree of popularity that bad enjoys in our country today is somehow or another strongly strongly attributable to what St Louis started back in eighteen seventy five and what just made lately Chris of all the foreign teams that come into play exhibitions. It's a big deal that Byron unit comes in Munich played white star Busch stadium. Forty years ago Liverpool was at public school stadium to see why had foreign teams coming in here on a regular basis. Saint Louis was ahead of other cities already in the league so much. Many capacities Bill McDermott with on the Dave Sinclair, Lincoln and Ford sports open line. I've got to give some love to Saint Louis f c and I don't want them to feel like they're being left in the dust on this Bill, and they certainly won't be it would be a win win situation. But certainly over the last couple of years and as Major League Soccer. I'm sure looks at this market looks at Jim Cavanaugh and others involvement. And now looks at the success that they've had with folks in the stands, I know their final game like Anderson, and I'm a producer. We're just talking about going out there on Saturday night. They're making a playoff push. How about the job? They've done the crowds that they have drawn to soccer park and the product they've put on the field for the pitch expression. I watched them pretty much on a daily basis. I go out to training a lot Anthony populaces gracious enough, but his overall coaching staff to allow me to watch on a regular basis. I've got no goodly number. Of the players. They have a process in hand that all the players to a person they continue to trust. Irrespective of the fact that when they had in the middle of the year four or five players I eleven players out of the lineup because of injuries while they got all those players back and they've made a late season. Push. And therein lies a reason why they have a potential of getting into the playoffs but immense games for Saint Louis FC tomorrow night, seven o'clock against Tulsa, that's a rescheduled game. From July fourteenth was literally the weather was atrocious at the soccer, you could not play soccer. And then it could it could come to the very last game that you just talked about Saturday night seven thirty against okay, see energy, but this team in just its fourth year has dramatically changed the way hit has played. They have an overall process put in place by Anthony Lewis. And there's assistant coaches remember just talking about it yesterday. When he was speaking with. Anthony about this upcoming game. But how he meshed so neatly so nicely not break from the very get go, but his coaching staff had a feel out and find out why he did certain things he said that the group he works with is your brilliant group of young men. He looks forward to seeing them on a daily basis and the product and the culture that he has created with the soccer team shows itself on the field playing some great soccer. Yeah. It's just exciting. I think and and to see what could potentially be a partnership and how they could potentially work hand in hand. I imagine that Major League Soccer has to be excited about that. Bill O, positively it's attributable to the overall makeup in our community. So many of the MLS teams do this. They have a US L team. So it's like any clubs around the world. You have players who are playing at a perhaps a lower ranked team with the sole intention of trying to get better. So that they can get into the first team. And then with the existing soccer coach. Within the St Louis, Scott Gallard, rich humidity. It all starts. He goes from eight A B to C as follows closely follows neatly Saint Louis one of the main problems in Saint Louis in the past has been from the top down to the bottom. There was no one at the top wanting to take things over well, Jim camping as you just mentioned a moment ago. He became the do Denny long our community and he brought this. He brought this opportunity into the absolute forefront of everyone to see the Saint Louis has the potential of getting a pretend a potential of getting a team. Now, it didn't happen. So they revamped and things have changed. But I do want to say a word about Paul talked about him. He would have been a significant owner as well. So he's not in this particular show, not a plan b but a totally different plan for this team, and it's really really solid footing. And there's a foundation here farro which you can really attract good players to play for this team. Who? Wanna play in Saint Louis, whatever represent the city, there's the potential who knows who knows who's gonna come here to play. You have a tremendous stream of Bosnian fans who would like to see some of their favorite Bosnian players perhaps beyond your teeth. The make up of your team could be all inclusive of every type of nationality. Imaginable along with along with some St Louis players, but say we'll see again, St Louis and soccer in particular is the sports to be able to to dictate the all inclusive aspect of your team, which would be similar to the makeup of society. It's pretty cool, and you know in watching the blues and watching I guess it was Saturday night. We had a couple of Saint Louis Chris Butler and Pat maroon both registering points in an NHL game, which setting. He never thought happened to see, you know, the the Saint Louis homegrown players. And unfortunately now David freezing loop. Void doing it for other teams. But you know, then Saint Louis homegrown soccer players and all of those clubs playing within a couple of blocks of each other on Clark street. It would be amazing. I'll leave you at this Bill because I know this is the million dollar question. That fans wanna know where do we go from here? And what do you think happens next in in for folks that are anxious? What should they be watching for looking for continues to sell your mission? And the group will continue to do that to work on all the incidentals but continue to make their presence felt to the league office to Don Garber, Mark Abbott and toward amount to let them know. This is what we're doing. We have every loose in tied up. And we're ready to start playing. We have the wherewithal. We have the solid ownership group. We have a stadium plan. We have that existing soccer culture. So the number one country for soccer in the United States which began at all in eighteen sixty. Five should be the number twenty seven our number twenty eight and MLS expansion Bill McDermott. We appreciate it a exciting day. And I look forward to a lot more of these conversations. Let's do so thanks Chris. All right. That's Bill McDermott joining us on the Dave Sinclair, Lincoln and Ford sports open line exciting. We can take your thoughts at four three six. Seventy nine.

"News time is four twenty six continuing our conversation with Cam like soccer analyst Bill McDermott. Oh, oh, I lose them. We lost him. We lost him. But my other question for him. And just just to throw this out there for you guys to think about is clearly there's a sour taste in the mouths of some sports fans over STAN Kroenke, but I'm sure the Bill would say that that does not exist at all. The Taylor family is such an incredible family the care. So. So much about the region. This is their home that I think people will have a deeper level of faith in this ownership group. And so whatever sour feelings people have about what happened with the Rams and the scam. That was STAN Kroenke, they these those two issues are not even in the same room. We got Bill McDermott back with us Bill talking about this hour taste folks may have after what STAN Kroenke did to Saint Louis. The Taylor family, and Jim Cavanaugh CEO worldwide technology, the these are not even these are people not even the same room. Character wise, people would say, oh under no circumstances. And and I can't agree with your assessment more. I mostly unfolding sculpture gyms have very good friend of mine. I've known him six played soccer at Saint Louis university. I have countless French who worked at enterprise in for the Taylor family. No, I'm not going to sit there and say, I know Andy extremely well. But I know what they do for the unity and. Linked up together. What a powerful powerful ownership group and one last thing before you go, do you have a sense? What is the decision making process another you mentioned those three things? But are they going to look at San Diego's a beautiful place? Got a lot of population Sacramento is in California. I mean, what are they going to look at? They're gonna look at the three main things on that talked. Okay. And then again, I think the idea that this is going to be certainly would be granted the first team in Major League Soccer that has a majority of women as their majority owners that's pretty much unheard of not just a Major League Soccer, but pretty much professional sports and all the Taylor family all account with all family are avid avidly behind this effort. I gotta let you go there. They're waving at me what what's the time frame. Is there a timeframe Bill that question was asked directly of anti Taylor said, we're not sure, but he thinks it's going to be a matter of months as opposed to a matter of years where decisions made. Yes, carol. Thank you so much.

"To this week in the world cup i'm your host bill mcdermott alongside this evening is dale szili deals a farmer soccer coach for saint louis fc and us l now the technical director far saint louis scott gallagher i for mostly dale we'd like to thank our listeners for sticking with us long law cardinal game well over well almost four hours to the hour as a matter of fact but we have plenty of information to cover a we've said this our last two sunday night shows what a week in the world cup and it doesn't disappoint another magnificent week of games in this third week of the world cup yeah just incredible games drama penalty kicks injuries just a great referee calls v a r everything you want bill has happened in in this last week and friday and saturday quarterfinals did not disappoint it was a great couple of days and for your reasoning you mentioned the va are let's bring that up right away is being used your satisfaction is it being used properly to officially officially make the right decisions as we get into late in the competition as we get into the semi finals this week i think it's a good start everything has to evolve nothing is going to be perfect the first time you go through it at this level so yes i think your question i think the for the first time through it i think it's been a a worth while venture i think it's helped eliminate some issues cost them some problems of controversy and some conversation but i think it would only lead to to us getting getting more decisions right so they'll surely talks about the vr system as the topic to be covered in particular for this world cup obviously since it's the first one but tonight show just to give you a feel for what we're gonna do we're gonna take it to the top of the hour at nine at nine o'clock and we'll cover the semifinals will set that up that'll be the last part of the show this evening we'll talk about the quarterfinals leading up to the two semifinals on tuesday and wednesday respectively and we're going to talk with dan flynn second segment dan's the secretary general the ceo of us soccer to get his field not just for this particular world worldcom obviously but one is thoughts on that about an overall feel for the united states mexico and canada try hosting if you will the two thousand twenty six world cup before the two thousand twenty two world cup to be held at guitar so dale i for mostly before we get into the semifinals a lot transpired starting off this week as you talked about the fact that at doesn't disappoint magnificent games starting off with the uruguay france game in france really began to show that they could be a serious contender i think coach deschamps diddy has done a great job of organizing his team a talented group i mean as talented as any in the in the world cup he's been able to whittle his roster down to about thirteen or fourteen players that he's happy with and i think that's a big step that other coaches wrestled with early in the event and by him getting to a solid lineup a consistent lineup if you will it's allowed him to with the consistency to just put a good product on the field and and that continuity i think has helped move them along quicker than some of the other groups really solid performance against uruguay and they've been lining up in a four two three one formation and and their game the quarterfinal the first quarter final game on the sixth of july against uruguay uruguay was sorely lacking not having vanni up top to plan alongside of suarez for sure i you know the first fifteen twenty minutes of the game i thought uruguay did all right but you could say you could see that they missed cavani just his ability to get in behind his ability to combine with suarez there's such a great partnership you would just missing part of it and so once the once france got through the first fifteen twenty minutes of the game then they score the goal on.

"Oh get breaking news behind the scenes photos and more you can also follow us on facebook and instagram ben boy is the executive producer of the program what i'm saying is i'm gonna i'm gonna say this one i'm saying mike anderson is guy i like ramey had think he's good back camel studios it is clear lincoln and ford sports open line my question after listening to that newscast and listening all day on cam to the extensive coverage of the hazardous substance making people ill had a strip club what in the world does a comprehensive cleaning that place stake i went to camelback dot com and read the story i saw brad shows tweets and then i google the establishment in question and it appears to be a gray cinderblock bunker where there is no penetration of sun maybe a poor choice of words there but just a just a gray windowless building that apparently has gotten so disgusting people are getting sick from breathing the air good luck good luck to whoever is taking that that job on that would be like a nice weekend job yeah you know i've got to go drop offs dry cleaning gotta do a little yard work around the house and i have to do a deep clean based on a potentially hazardous airborne toxin at a strip club in the metro east tonight's way to start your weekend just look at some point just shut her down maybe just shut down and move on all right so we are again getting ready for baseball tonight and we're gonna talk with com coming up in a couple of minutes and then bill mcdermott is going to join me for oral cup talk story started circulating earlier today i to bring mike anderson into the fold and mike i don't know if this is possible we saw the blues clear up a little bit of cat broom with the trade full rhino riley we saw them come to an agreement with one year deal for robby fabbri would ask your son quizzed agreed to deal you still have joe edmonson and dmitry askin your take on some of the rumors that are connecting pat maroon to the blues at this point i think he would be a great guy to have i actually had her fordline guy yeah i mean he he could play even higher than that if you had to but well i'll put it this way jeremy rut deferred of the f the blues this is four hours ago jeremy tweeted the blues are making a hard push to sign you a fe and native st louisan pat maroon maroons campus stained patient weiner options and a deal does not appear imminent you would imagine the blues would do something tap wise probably to make that happen yeah from what i had heard prior to that which i hadn't even seen actually was that he didn't have interest coming back so that surprises me but he would be a great piece to add definitely adds while it is a faster i think you still need that grid i mean look washington won the cup because they weren't the faster team they were a little grittier when they needed to be among some other things and i just think he'd be a great piece of add he's i mean he doesn't have that blazing speed but he played online with connor mcdavid so it's not it's not like he had trouble keeping up you just gotta surround them with the right pieces and i mean we've lacked at presence in front of the net and who better at that right now maroon yeah forty three points in seventy four games in seventy three penalty minutes last year forty two and ninety five penalty minutes in eighty one games in two thousand sixteen seventeen with edmonton.
