"Hey, thanks So much for being here Been a busy day on the show. We've been talking about a couple of really big topics one in law enforcement. And policing and the other We've been talking about teaching, and I want to be very sincere. When it comes to teacher appreciation day. Some of my biggest memories were people that I thought hated me when I was a student. On guy was a horrible, high school student. But one of the people that I admire the most is a man named Bill Gettys. And Mr Gettys is what we used to call him. But Bill Gettys, I thought the guy hated my guts and I'll tell you years after I was out of school. I saw him in high school football game and he asked me what I was doing. He knew what I was doing A Zajac. He asked about my brothers, both by name. Asked about my mother by name and remembered You know, And you're talking about a man that spent decades in the school system, And that's an educator that someone that invest their time and kids. The political agenda that's going on right now. Um, is horrible. And when you listen to Calvin Terrell was the man's name that's doing a training video. If you're just jumping in. We covered this a bunch this morning. There is a video out there that's available for new school board members across the state of Arizona tow Watch. Now that it's not required, but it's the only formal training that's really available. It cost 100 couple of 100 bucks. I think, tol by the videos or to log in and to watch them and school boards air using your tax dollars to pay for this. I want you to hear just one little piece of what Calvin Terrell says about the United States military and policing. We could more money. Torun it, Terry. And the rest of the welcomed by And when you question that you're called unpatriotic your call that you don't support the troops. All these things and law enforcement is paramilitary. So if we can't question authority and people that are in the military And as well as in law enforcement are given the authority to arrest question. Detain, use physical force, including legal If you can't question people that have given that God like a party. That's fascism. All right, so Their premises and which is really funny. There are so many oversight boards on police officers that it's not funny, and I'm not saying that there shouldn't be oversight. There absolutely should be oversight. But now let's go to his theory. Now, you should be able to question authority when it comes to Theo police officers and the military. Well, what happens if teachers don't want critical race theory in the schools? What if they don't want to teach this? You need to make sure you have healthy relationships with you're doing your collapse. Because unions are to protect those educators, but they should not protect toxic races. Bigoted people. Some people could be coached up, and some people got to be coached out. So if you don't agree with us, you're racist, bigoted, hateful people. It sounds to me when you hear him talking about whiteness when you hear him talking about race relations when he talks about weaponizing unions weaponizing Martin Luther King Jr When he talks about the military. It sounds to me I can see where I think the hate is coming from. And so if you're a teacher, and you're considered by them to be toxic, you got to be gotten. Get rid of you. So he's asked. What about board members? What do we do? If the board is the toxic community member that board out? Get the community together in a boat that board out? Okay, They're toxic. They're in the way that they're about evil and injustice and sustaining these lives of colonization. He's hopeful, you know, historical traumas. Get him out of there. You have a right to know what your school board is. Spending your tax dollars on. You have a right to know if this critical race theory is in your classrooms that your Children are in. You have a right to know this. And again I am according to them, the hateful person anybody who's been associated with me for my entire life. Will tell you that I hate racism more than anybody else does. I think racism is the lowest form of humanity. And what you're seeing here is racism personified. It is demonizing one group of people because of the color of their skin. The premise behind this is that the school system is racist policing is racist. They I think I have time. I'm sure I have time. If I can find this one that has to do with the bagpipes. Here it is. Listen to this about why they play bagpipes at funerals. The reason why they played that pipes that police officers funerals to this takes. They were all Scots and Irish and the Scots and Irish. The quickest way to prove themselves to the English was to be overseers of the slaves. Overseer Oversteer eventually became officer. That's why bagpipes played to the state because of that legacy of chattel, slavery, Anti blackness. If you want that taught in the schools where your Children are. He's your guy, and apparently he has got contracts with school districts across the valley. That's what I'm hearing. I don't know that for sure. I know this training videos available. I know that Lindsay Love from the Chandler School district is in this video and loves it. So I know that for certain because I have the video. But now when you look listen to this, if you want this in your school system, this is your guy. They don't necessarily want parents involved. They talk about this being. You know that some parents getting angry. They call it a white flash. But they are also organized. They.

"And is what he said today. The New York Times covers it has meant the Barbara Walters. But this is what was really cool. I was like the most excited about this. I posted on my Facebook this morning, and I was like, Hello, people. This just happened that just happened. And I look on my feet and all my friends are weighing in and I see Bill Getty, and he said, congratulations. And I was like, oh my God, he's fees. I wrote back in all caps, thank you because really Bill Getty embar. Abra walters. They started this thing. Yeah. It's really incredible. They had an idea for a show, twenty three years ago, that's as relevant now as it was, if not more, so and it was so revolutionary at the time. And honestly, people still are like, oh my gosh. Five women on TV can talk politics. I mean, that was a lot of the discussion today on the set five women are hosting according to the New York Times, the most politically relevant show on TV. And I think it's the first time all women shows doing not, and our audience is predominantly women, and it just it shows that women are politically engaged in a way they have never met. However. No, it's incredible. When you look at all the people that have come after, you know, there's a lot of shows that are similar in idea. Now that didn't exist on television in one thousand nine hundred sixty but here's it so interesting. So part of the show that weekend review is you're going to get a little like inside scoop on what's happening behind the scenes. And so, with this New York Times magazine cover we've been working on this for over a month and have not been able to say a word we've had the reporter here we've had photographers here. I mean, we were all interviewed together, and we had no idea initially, I think it was just an article, and then it became a bigger thing, and then we had these big guests and then it was like you're on the cover. So it's just like an exciting thing for us because it's been such a buildup both. So it was great. Let's move on. Yeah. Let's dig into the week in review and I think let's start probably one week ago from today, which was Beto of work on the view. And this was this was a big booking for us. So here's the thing with battle. We have been trying to book him. For ever, and then we got wind that people on the campaign trail were asking him if he was going to do the view. On talk shows of you. You watch. Oh, yes. Those women, they get down to the questions and everybody knows what's going on after their. Right. And we still couldn't book. Well, you know, he he wasn't doing a lot of New York media at the time, and we were waiting when he was in the fight with Ted Cruz, he did a couple of shows he hadn't been here because he announced we were we were pushing really hard for him. And the other big kind of controversial thing that the host wanted to talk about. Yeah. Candidates come on here and they have to address the issues about women. They just have to. And so he had made a comment that his wife did most of the work at home when he was on the road and the and the co host called him on it. And it was a very sobering moment on the show. He literally like got out of campaign, speak came down, and had a real conversation, a with the co-host about religion and, and what that meant right, there are things that I have been privileged to do in my life. That, that others cannot. And I think the more that I travel and listen to people, and learn from them, the clear that comes becomes to me and to his credit. I mean we've talked about him as a hot topic. A couple of times. I mean you know, there's no free lunch here. The view or not if you're a politician, here, then what are you going to do the right? Democrat Republican even if everyone's a big fan they still ask those really tough questions, which is one of the reasons why people not to tune in, but he was kind of not. He was hit hard by the host and hot topics and to his credit he showed up here and he answered those questions..

"A federal investigation still pending mind you he is in the west coast. He landed at LAX last night security guards are with him. 'paparazzi everywhere interestingly, he's nominated for best supporting actor at the fiftieth NWC p image awards for his role on empire. This is happening on Saturday. He is not officially said he is going to attend but TMZ reporting that his arrival in LA is a strong sign that maybe he will. Oh, what's going to happen? They're into the story has yet to be written. And I'm just going to get some popcorn. Yeah. You know, this is not going to necessarily go away. Anytime. Here's my question. You know? I don't have a crystal ball. But I keep thinking to myself this has the potential to either make or break his career. And at this point the way he's walking around with like, you said security guards, paparazzi everywhere. It's making his career. I did not know what Jesse smell that was. No, no, two months ago. We didn't even know how to pronounce name, I know announced it wrong for the first week of the story. I think anybody who thinks they know definitively. What happened or should happen at this point is probably in for some sort of surprised in the next six to eight weeks. America loves a comeback story. How true that is loves a comeback. Olivia Jade who is the daughter of Laurie Laughlin who is accused of paying a large amount of money to get her. And her sister into USC her trademark application was rejected. Isn't this moment of irony? I don't know why I find this to be delighted delightful. It's not nice of me. Not nice. I know. Kinda funny. Olivia Jj newly who is a product influence her. She has millions of followers on Instagram in YouTube. She's had a struggle of time with her relationship with brands since news broke of her parents, alleged bad behavior. She tried to trademark the brands Olivia Jade, beauty and Olivia Jade, but she was rejected because of improper punctuation on her application. Parents had to pay for her to get into USC. And she doesn't know how to how to properly use a semi colon or a comma to delineate between products to be fair. I still have a hard time with semi colons. I don't really understand why we have them. But that's fine. You know, when when to use something to delineate the difference between certain products, Bradley, you would at a minimum be able to you know, furnish a comma. Yeah. Commas semi colons in apostrophes or the only punctuation that should be used in list. The letter specified that the applicant should not use colons. Exclamation marks. Question marks or periods. In those descriptions might also a little bit like. They also offer to the world. And this is just sort of a blanket offering I'd like for everybody to acquaint themselves with the apostrophe and when it's appropriate to use. Most of the time. You think you want to use it don't? Yeah. Yeah. Is me that perfectly grown educated people improperly. Use apostrophes should be all the time. Even like, spelling and things like that. Like, I mean there there's a lot to be learned. And listen, I'm not saying I'm perfect. I'm just saying let's all brush up on the apostrophe is. Okay. That's a good idea. Thanks. I think that we all should what does this made PSA for what it's worth haywire. Let's all take a hint from Olympia Jade and all do better. Barbara walters. Apparently once threatened to quit the view, if Rosie O'Donnell was reassigned. I'm giving you so much information about this book ladies who punched the explosive inside story of the view because then you won't have to read it if you don't know, I so don't shed. I don't want you to and I don't want anybody to honestly. Well, Barbara Walters hand picked the original group of the view. You'll all remember this. This was her show less have you met not bliss star Johns and Meredith Vieira they added Rosie O'Donnell in two thousand six after star John Scott fired. And but by the next year. She and Barbara, we're not friends anymore and the view is getting some negative attention from high profile viewers like Kelly Ripa, Donald Trump. Rosie O'Donnell did not get along with the executive producer Bill Getty back then according to this new book, and so to save the show and her reputation Barbara Walters, reportedly want Rosie O'Donnell out. Apparently, she said if you re signed Rosie to this show Bill, and I are going to quit. That's what she apparently told ABC. Daytime president Brian FRANZ in two thousand seven over dinner at Spago in Beverly Hills. Wow. The reason I cannot stand. This book is because it sounds to me like it is doing nothing more than painting, the women of the view in the light that many people wanna paint women in which is just catty backstabbing, I get that unable to get along though. I do almost have to look at it bigger picture is that anytime you gather a group of people on a show with big opinions and big egos. Man woman child doesn't matter you are going to have conflicts. So I'm sort of trying to be like, it's it's about women because the show features women that being said anytime, you have a group of like big egos like that sure you are going to have drama. So I think it's maybe about the language that you use to talk about, you know, those women because those women are just like human beings like everybody else. Course there's stuff stuff going on behind the scenes, and that's what I find credibly fascinating. Fact, there was an anecdote about because we also don't forget have the other book about the view that's coming out or out the one with her book is called point of view. She's wearing a nice sh- shoulder. 'less top on the front's. Very nice. I like that. Anyway. So you have her. I am fascinated by what's going on behind the scenes because there's an anecdote that she relates where they told her you're fired. And I maybe it's because you know, we don't work in the same industry, but you know, similar.

"I think of the all the one with Rosie and Barbara nuts been sort of. Yeah. There's an expert. When it was about the Trump stuff when Barbara like called Trump after Rosemead fan of Trump Trump threaten to soon called Rosie every awful name in the book before the presidency. Yeah. Barbara and Bill Getty, these abuse called Trump to sort of calm down. And then she sort of like was Barbara was being nice to Trump and try and hi nice to try either. Like that like that New York social scene don't rock the boat. I wanted to guide every party ended. A and Rosie felt like she should have defended her, and according to this book, and according to Rosie wrote about it and celebrity detox her book, and well if you if you look at all the Ellison Barbara Walters as a trailblazer. But you also like an eighty five year old woman. And if you look at some of our old interviews, she is not a metoo lady. She is very judgy much. Like, you know, my mother, my grandmother might have been about other women, you know, she's also highly competitive too and was the. Per the one who got to wear the crown on that show. No, she did you create it rightfully so. I have an idea for show. Yeah. I always wanted to create a show with about five women with different points of view think Debbie Petropolis, it'd be mentioned at all in this. I hope so, you know, Debbie's home she doing well. She's hosting the home and family. I call family on hallmark channel. I love going into getting to do that show. I love Debbie. I would liked every two I I would I would hope because you know, Debbie has some stories from right because the most fascinating stories are about. I mean, how many hosts have there been like twenty one twenty something? Yeah. The most fascinating stories are how these women would be on the panel. And how Barbara would maybe cut them off or then yell at them backstage about how dumb they did. Or they can can you imagine like, you know, the thing about and we were on Chelsea lately like around hip, you throw it out like, it's just your opinion. You know, and imagine how guarded you might be. If you're constantly being told that you were not smart enough to have that opinion or wrong, or I mean, and it is a live show that makes it scary to and it makes it scary. I mean, I always felt badly about the Michelle Collins thing that happened with the when she and joy kind of made fun of some Miss America that had the stethoscope around her neck, and she was like your nurse. Why you having that? And then all the nurses, just like attack them. Yes. And then of course, you know, their intention isn't to talk smack. Right. Exactly. And then I was always like God that is kinda scary that as as you're thinking in the moment on a hot topic. And you're trying to be funny, then you also have to go wait could this possibly offend anyone that could then affect Johnson and Johnson. Like, that's a lot to have in your mind. I always felt really bad because I'm like God, you know, even though they apologized and everything and I'm thinking, you know, I think most nurses, then got over it. But it was like, oh we lost to sponsors. And it's your like, I can't even imagine how stressful that must have been I love joy. And I love Michelle too. So do I and I always felt really bad because I'm like, that's totally something that could happen to me. You know what? I mean, of course. But why this book, I think is? So fascinating too is because if people don't know now, I mean, this show the view back in the day every buddy watch it now, it's sort of like a personal thing. When Megan McCain or Whoopie or Joyce says something interesting clip on Huffington Post or something I if it's kind, of course, taught came and all these other things and all these other pales shows, this is the first morning panel show that really we'd never seen anything like it taking really heated political point of view or a point of view about things in pop culture. And debating it was everybody watched the show. And so now to hear about the behind the scenes of it all because there were a lot of smiling faces even after disagreement..

"Show mental little people. Anyway, didn't Meghan McCain his rights back to her. You are at my wedding. Denise. God. God. That out clapback. With the kids. Class right back. Launch here and a Meghan shady tree. And this book comes out next week about the view, we're slowly getting all of these leaks. I always feel bad for the author. When all these excerpts come out because people think oh, I don't need to read the book read everything in vaulter page six or read the juicy tidbits, maybe all the juicy maybe we'll get more juicy tidbits of Beatles scrolling through all the people who have been involved with the view over the past twenty one years. It's like, oh, yeah. Let's not forget about star Jones. Let's yeah. Laird is VERA. Yes. Absolutely. So I think that like some of these tidbits from this book about the view are really salacious. And of course, they're trying to pick our interest by the book. But I actually think it will be a really interesting TV history. Say that Brian Stelter is book top of the morning, which is there Reese Witherspoon is loosely basing that on his inside view of what it's like to produce a warning TV show tavern out of be feeling pretty good. He's at ABC Bill Getty's, Barbara Walters. Executive producer for all those years ex VP in her show. Do very well. Oh, yeah. And they just debuted the first trailer for it and only dead. Yeah. It's out there on social media. I think but I she's gonna have a hit on her hands NBC again, they screwed up Natalie. Morales hasn't been on access. Hollywood are weak. Philip in the promo, and I know she's kids could be on spring break. A lot of people are in spring break. Kelly representing Kelly represents spring break. Lisa Wren is filling in for. She's really quite good. I still can't believe that access. Hollywood is going to go with Mario Lopez their whole that is such a mistake. So anyway, he looks like him. So I think that is great casting. I know they're going to want us to keep calling it the mini saints of Newark. But I just think Gruden keep calling. How does the pre-quake while Alec Baldwin? I just laugh at this story about the guy he punched in the face of the parking spot. And he is going to have to go to anger Benjamin for a day. Dave. That's why I'm glad he at least admitted guilty. Well, I think he's had too many other little things like this for the judges, just like whatever we don't believe you anymore. Okay. Kate winslet's you like idea of her coming back to HBO we saw her in Mildred Pierce. Melter which we are not very good. But she's producing this. And again, I think women of a certain age to be in charge of their own destiny are having to start production and finding their own material. Yes, she's is reporting. She'll play a small town Pennsylvania detective whose life crumbles around her as she investigates, a local murder, it's called mayor of east town don't know if it was based on a book or whatever. But yeah. So good for Kate. Good for her good for tamarin hall guess who's executive producing her. Daytime talk show that's already seventy percent. So for next fall. You already told me Bill. I went to Normandy in Luxembourg Belgium over the anniversary of d day last June. And as much as I am a a student of history. There was nothing like standing in those places. Utah beach Omaha beach point to hawk the Pegasus bridge going to these different places and meeting some of the men who fought there, and realizing that they were eighteen nineteen years old when they did it. And the struggle. That they had to endure and had it failed. What America would look like? That everybody east of the Mississippi would probably be speaking German and everybody west of the Mississippi would be speaking Japanese. That there is a necessity in teaching not just what we've done, but why we've done it. The consequences of intervening or not intervening. Should we have intervened earlier, maybe Pearl Harbor doesn't happen? Those questions would Hitler's impact on the world have been diminished. Had we done some kind of a preemptive strike. But that's just one part of education. When you see a statistic where you're setting people up to fail. And it's a system where you are throwing billions of dollars at the problem with no accountability. Really? It makes me wonder what education is in America. Is it a business? Because if it is it's failing except the executives which would be the, you know, the teachers unions and the big organizations invested in education aren't going to lose their paycheck. And I'm I'm torn because when I go into high schools and speak with students, these are thoughtful people, they are not selfish mine nam idiots, they're portrayed to be sometimes. But we do them a huge disservice. We don't challenge kids nearly enough. We don't hold them accountable. We don't make them work hard. We we, you know, there was one teacher that was fired because school policy said the lowest grade, you can give us a fifty percent. So even if you don't turn in a piece of paper, you don't get zero. You still get fifty percent for not doing the work. Those are the things that concern me when I talk about education. But in the end whose fault is it it's yours, and it's mine. If my kids would have graduated from high school and couldn't read that's my fault. If I don't know that my children can't read when they are in the second grade third grade that they're not learning to read or they're at least not learning what they're being taught. That's on me. But the education system seems in my opinion seems to be failing because where we used to lead the world. We don't. We aren't challenging people were not making sure that we're creating critical thinkers that can read something convey, a message of what they've just read comprehend it, and repeat what they've just read. Instead, we make sure we're churning out. Good citizens. Well, good in the minds of the people that are doing the indoctrination. And I say this with all due respect to teachers because we all have teachers that influenced us, we all have somebody or people in our lives that we look back at it and say that person was a huge influence on me. I'm sure I've mentioned here on this show before our dean of students when I was in high school. I always thought hated my guts, I was a maniac of a kid. You know, I was I drove this guy. Crazy. Years after I was out of high school. I saw him at a high school football game. And he remembered not only me, but he remembered my younger brother's name my youngest brother's name who never even went to that school. My mother's name asked how we all were doing asked how my electoral career was going. He knew what I was doing for a living. And he's someone that's been a promoter of this radio career when it happened and has been a great support system to me. And I had I was under the assumption that he just disliked me immensely. I was just a bad kid. He was trying to straighten out. This was one of the people instrumental in keeping me from going completely off the edge. His name is Bill gettys, and I'm in touch with him once in a while we keep in touch on Facebook. And there are literally thousands of kids that have the same stories about him and people like him at our schools that made impacts on us. So there I'm not I am not denigrating the service of. Teachers there are many many many great teachers in this country. The system has got issues. When you've got a national standard. It's one thing when you have a national way of of educating I want you to think of how is it possible that the same issues that an inner city kid from Brooklyn New York faces the same kid same issues as a kid in Butte, Montana. How does some kid from fountain? Colorado face the same challenges as a kid from a Clovis, New Mexico. It's different. And teachers should be able to educate students and not have to just be teaching them to pass tests. One of the fun things. I've had the pleasure of doing over the last few years is making fun of because they deserve it. The assault on Christmas..

We we, you know, there was one teacher was fired because school policy said the lowest grade, you can give us a fifty percent. So even if you don't turn on a piece of paper, you don't get zero. And I say this with all due respect, the teachers because we all have teachers that influenced us, we all have somebody or people in our lives that we look back at it and say that person was a huge influence on me. I'm sure I've mentioned here on this show before our dean of students when I was in high school. I always thought hated my guts, I was a maniac of a kid. You know, I was I drove this guy. Crazy. Years after I was out of high school. I saw him at a high school football game. And he remembered not only me, but he remembered my younger brother's named my youngest brother's name who never even went to that school. My mother's name asked how we all were doing asked. How my electrical career was going. He knew when I was doing for a living. And he's someone that's been a promoter of this radio career when it happened and has been a great support system to me. And I had I was under the assumption that he just disliked me immensely. I was just a bad. Kitty was trying to straighten out. Colorado face the same challenges as a kid from Clovis, New Mexico. It's different. And teachers should be able to educate students and not have to just be teaching them to pass tests. One of the fun things. I've had the pleasure of doing over the last few years is making fun of because they deserve it. The assault on Christmas..

"Yeah. I think so a private plane. Yeah. Oh my God. I know the answer this one biggest party animal, Debbie monopolist. I don't know the most competitive little straw competitive. Oh my gosh. Yeah. She was right. And the other lawyer the current lawyers pretty competitive also. Yeah, she's not competitive with me though. No. But just jet engine. Oh, you mean in general competitive in January, all our? Yeah. We're all competitive with otherwise we wouldn't be where we are fair enough. All right last one. All right. The most likely to run for president of all the coast. Whoopie? Yeah. I think so. Yeah. What be what be run like that? What was the most impactful moment for you on the view in twenty? When I got fired the day was fired about that. It was like a great day. I I mean, they came to. I was sick of it sick to my stomach of this show up t here's my mother would say, and I couldn't quit 'cause you know, when the checks coming in it's hard to quit. Yeah. It's like they call the golden handcuffs. So when you walked out that you ever imagine coming back. No. We thought it was done over. No. So Bill Getty and Randy Baroni who was in America. Randy, man. And and they looked like somebody died, you know. So when someone approaches me like that, and they never come into my sets. What am I getting fired? When I said, they said, well, then you and I said thank you so much for letting me out of this like I was getting going on parole. You know? Getty said to me later Barbara said, how did she take it? He said she was fine. And this you've told me this was the best two years of your life. Big sendoff in Jon, Allen, older and identity on television. And Tony Bennett came and sang unbelievable. He sang that song kissed the good life behind that was a song. Thank you, Tony because I wasn't getting paid anymore. That was my biggest problem after that was that I had money, which I did I did my solo show that year. I wrote a play. I know what I'm doing. And then they, you know, every time you think you're out they pull you back in well, then Hillary McLaughlin who sitting over here. Like, I said she calls me up. I'm walking around province down and the phone rings. And it's high his Hillary SE McLaughlin calling and. Yeah. And she said, how do you? How would you feel about coming back on Fridays only and hosting the show on Friday? That's how our remember. 'cause I remember only Fridays, and then I felt like, oh, then I'm going to be here all the time. Right. So it meant. To me, it it evolved into more time. I think I think the secret plan was to get you back in any way, we could. And then you would love it so much you'd stay. I'm still here. Yeah. Yeah. And I mean, do you enjoy the show as much now? I know right now, this is a bad day. It depends on the day some days, I really really don't like this show and some days. I really really like it. Right. I know. You don't even I could be my mood. It could be they have breakfast, right? It could be anything. I'm in this daily grind for twenty years. So you're not gonna find me in a good mood every day. Right. That's normal. And tell me about you know, we mentioned you monitoring the show occasionally on Fridays. Enjoy that tell me what that you know in between. What was actually when I was still on the view. I had two of the show. I had a show on H line, which is a CNN show. And I it was my show. And then that that when went down because of politics, somebody fired mix like my politics. I'm think that's the real truth of it. Because I said something like Republicans don't care about poor people, and they they didn't like that. And then Romney said the same thing. But anyway, but he wasn't a host on H. So then I was gone, and I still miss that show because we had a wonderful show. What a wonderful time. I was the second rate at show on the network. I don't know what happened there a lot of people that you had on that show. But then I got a show on current TV and. And I was the host of that show..

"As a regular in. That eighth year I came, in as a filling you have such a natural happy face So you. Often I immediately I saw when I heard you were common name ring a bell I went and I saw your, face I'm like everybody would know I wish, I could see obviously we're on. Radio but they will know you immediately When I saw that shows. Telling you this during the break when I first time I saw the view I said this. Is going to be a monster hit. Because my, wife s a. Million opinions Ryan women have. A million Pinson this, is a perfect venue for that Were you on with when Hasselbeck was there too I. I was on when Elizabeth Hasselbeck in Rosie O'Donnell got into their big. Epic line yeah the job to take star, Jones's place was between Kathy Griffin. And me and or is it an eye Barbara Walters she's always get on me about that and, they couldn't decide beat so both of us we're going to have a day to. Do the we both co hosts it quite a bit and we both had, a day they couldn't figure out. If they were going to, give Kathy Thursday or meet Thursday and Kathy Friday and they decided, to give me Thursday and Kathy Friday Thursday was the day Elizabeth Rosie, got into, that epic, fight that everybody remembers and what I did was can I interrupt Lisbeth was conservative Elizabeth was not rosy. Elizabeth who is my bridesmaid and one of my best, friends even now and it was so tense when they were fighting that is tried. To I said to joy we. Should pretend like we're gonna get out Up from the table and. Walk out and we did and it allowed, the crowd to laugh it really. Did and I remember Alicia SilverStone was a guest and she was nervous and I had so many, requests for interviews and I wouldn't do them and they love the fact that I. Did not make a career off of telling what happened that day and so Kathy came the next day and. She kept trying to bring, it up nobody wanted, to talk about it and Bill Getty who, was the co creator Barbara Walters partner said he loved the fact that, I knew, how to, keep my mouth shut and and that's funny John for talking, by keeping your mouse? Barbara, Walters called me and, I said Hello and she said Hello dear we would like you to, come, and join us This is Barbara Walters and. I kept saying no I kept saying. No for about a year and. Then I said yes and I. It was it, scared me to death because I didn't I grew up as a Jehovah's Witness I didn't know anything about politics I never voted in. My life Joe, was. Witnesses don't vote, and, it. Scared me because I was a stand up leaders Yeah and, I came on not knowing anything I the very things. That my parents taught, me how to do, debates, I was with respect my elders they were. Right no matter what, so, to sit, there and have to go toe to toe with Barbara. Walters and my idol will Viggo Berg. Was was literally mentally I was. Sick every day for three years. I I remember, watching you though and you had it's everybody kind of had that position It, was like I don't know, if it was by accident we'll be on the left On the far right. I'm sure that was done But it seemed to me like. You. You kind of acted as A mom for that A little bit of peace in a little And I think I, just kind of when it got so tense I would come in there with. Some humor, and I learned like everybody else I, mean I think my third day I said I didn't know if there was around a flat on the view. And that was. Because I, was so nervous I just was, I mean, I was Rosie said that she you know the. Whole truth or, thing with, the tower tower and she said you know there have been the first time the fire ever Bernstein When you made steel Jose was a whole conspiracy fact off on, that by the way She you know she I did stand up spotlight when she was. Chosen and she was the nicest person in the world, to me I tell. You, people what people don't know about Rosie o'donald she. Very nice Rosie O'Donnell. Helped me get my salary at. The view they offered me nothing and this is why I love I always tell women who are doing the same thing that I'm doing what I? Make now have you have you don't work in. The same field you're not gonna find out what? I make it have you. Done the same thing that I'm doing I will. Tell Cheryl, Underwood I'm the talk Lonnie love from the. Real Rosie o'donald said this, is what I make this. Joy makes this is what Elizabeth makes and she helped me negotiate so when, I came in asked for the salary that Rosie, told me, to I went, right back to Rosie and. I said they said you think you you must be a fool if you think we're gonna pay you that a rosy helped me through my entire negotiation process and allowed me to get. The money that, I asked for. And not what they offered me so I appreciate I appreciate that that's why. We have such a big disparity with men and women's pay gap one. Of the reasons we don't know what each other's making a has somebody Smart and beautiful as. You still single that's what I wanna know I ran out of pre NUP The Xerox machine doesn't work anymore. Nobody makes prenups anymore and until I can get. Some more of those now. I'm completely content single I'm happy Travel single right it's easier. To try A, thirteen year, old. Apprentice come your way now. I never wanted to do, as a matter of fact I stopped watching it and I told Donald Trump that because he would come on, the view quite a bit and I told him I sat watching it what he was when he was touting out that birther LA Obama watching watching celebrity apprentice and by the way Trump is and people, say this all the time I would see Trump a lot doing a view. She's very strategic, I think she I don't feel for Moreau said I'll she is Phoenix that will always rise from the ashes. She tried to sell black, people down the river and she, tried to get. Us to drink that that, Kool-Aid and she tried to pull right cool it yeah she tried to she tried to tell. People I'm telling you trust this man trust this man. "Way you think Abby Hudson is leaving Fox, News for the view Huntsman currently co host FOX and. Friends weekend is set to, replace Sarah Hanes Sarah I felt the same way everyone talks about her like she's this huge star, who and I had to Google. Her I. Don't she was apparently she used to do dispatches for like the today show or on the. Weekends she was there features. Reporter I never heard of. Her never seen her on TV. Ever I don't even know if she this sort of Oculus. Blonde, yeah I. Okay I've. Seen, oh. Yeah so then she shows up on the view and I didn't know who the hell she was, there and now she's leaving because she's going to co host GMA with Michael Strahan in that last, hour Oh that's weird okay So now the new lineup on the view is, going to, be, Whoopi, Goldberg, joy Behar sunny halston never heard of her is, any host and host and she, really good, looking woman Megan McCain. And then Abby Huntsman I like how it works with. Like Megan gets feisty, I like Megan McCain. Some of our ideas, I don't agree with but at least she's spunky and I like her with with Whoopi and joy Behar when they go out and, it's kind of, fun the sunny host and she's, very pleasant and beautiful but I. Think they need another this woman. Is from Fox News I'm assuming Abby Huntsman I'm assuming she's conservative. Is so they'll need that's good because sometimes. It's, a little one-sided yeah you don't want it to be on one or five hundred zero now so that maybe she'll balance it, out a little bit but it's nice to have all the. Different views on the that's why they. Call it the view that's how many people. Have they gone through they've gone. Through a. Like twenty it's crazy they need to settle down. Picked, people and. Stick Not going to happen with it. What are you doing. Here's what they need. Walter yes Barbara there, you had someone that was in charge now it's being run by committee Barbara Walters was and is the gold standard of of woman, women and journalists, Bill Getty to Bill Getty yeah, absolutely a New York Senator is. Calling for MGM to drop its. Lawsuit against the Las Vegas mass shooting victims if it wants to. Buy Yonkers casino is this this is gonna. Hurt, MGM people renting them because they're suing now I I am very upset at the MGM it's obviously horrible publicity unless they invited, us to go spend a weekend and then I would think. About getting over my anger to go. And do the show from their possibly but. I do feel sorry for them. Because they. Had nothing to do with this nut shooting up The victim but they're gonna get sued themselves because they're gonna make the argument. Oh well you should've had TSA type of security screening at the front of your hotel does yeah Thanks if you're the hotel eleven no, one thought it, was the impossible right flying, a plane into building so this is the. First so maybe they will have all those metal protectors, and all of that detectors rather I don't know but to sue. The, victims, I don't think that's a good move publicity-wise it's not going to help their business? And Be the first. And suck it up would the Mandalay bay was built there was no outdoor concert, venue across the, street right when the architects, were were coming up with with the security. And all of that for the Mandalay bay They never anticipated that some nut would shoot into a concert venue at a space that didn't exist at the time that's exactly right but. That's not gonna stop them from suing them and. Look I understand why if you're. A, victim you go after the. Group with. The big pockets because Stephen. Paddock is dead and the apparently he lost a lot of his money? Gambling so there's. Not a lot. To go for there so? You, go for the MGM. Yeah, but. It's not their fault it's not it's absolutely not their fault but again? Is the right thing is the correct reaction to sue back I don't know I don't know I would you say there yeah he did say that oh yeah What am I asking. Of, course You there A month ago and I got the edge Go back I'll be going back this weekend do you think Lady luck Larry two-night Americans would. Rather talk, about anything, other than how much money they make even politics of course only about one in ten Americans would feel comfortable. Talking about, how much they they make it a dinner party in, fact, people, would, rather discuss, just about any, other hot, button topic romance religion medical conditions or even politics even politics even politics, at about two. Thirds of those rather talk about. Space force then The aliens are coming Lawrence Yvonne was here earlier talking about the same thing. With Dr, drew and, she said in New York everyone knows everyone so their business so if you bought an apartment in New York. And I, think I'm a little guilty of this because my friend, just, bought, a, condo in, New York and, I'm from, TV and I'm like what that's what how much that set you back Clark You. Know like. About my salary they she said everybody, in New York says would you pay for that so what you did, they bump you up at work, are you good are you and. They ask salaries I don't ask that well it's, some shops you can't you're in violation of the contract if you talk about how much money you make, sure I didn't know that and I've, worked? In five shops that's very interesting so you wanna It's? An unwritten rule that nobody talks, about if you want, to, trick on how. To figure. Out how much someone paid for. Their house without having to ask them oh just get. The address plug it into Google Zillow what tell you. How much they. Paid for it Big closed escrow always. Do that oh my God that is so pitchy It's great Also show you the estimate of what? It's, worth yes. I did I. Saw, that yeah That's. Also, information I'm. Interested in you, know Many moons. We're, always trying to find a good angle anyway they did this story that the men at FOX, on average earn double. What the women did including the weather, casters, so I went on, and I said well if that's the. Case I'm only doing half a forecast. Today we no longer have a five day we. Have the two and a half day forecast you've gotta have some fun with it because then things turned around. And I'm sure I was doing very well, you can't compare. Like Steve Edwards always said. You can't compare you. Just can't do it you'll drive yourself crazy I remember opening up a drawer in the weather office and I saw a, whole box of, thermometers, with, Mark Thompson's face and I said Steve look what I? "Oh man Toxic by Britney Spears just out in the nights, on offense. Just singing do we know what kind of puppy? It is it looks, sort of I doesn't say. For sure it just kind of looks like. A, mutt Oh And really like a medium sized. Dog, oh that is talent in your dog seeing Britney. Spears I, mean I love my, dogs but they. Can't. No Is fantastic. Day keeled say really ended with something at least fun yeah yeah. Yeah, it'd be Arthur wrote to a raccoon and your. Zombie outbreak, dead raccoon story she, titled the worst story You're welcome Ready better for some of them. Blamed on Blame me I sent that one story ever Yeah Hey Sherri. Shepherd switching gears a little. Bit Sherri shepherd was on Andy Cohen last night while we were all sleeping and I didn't know they were doing. This I'll let Sherry, explained but I guess there is a book coming out that excites me here is here's the little caller from the from the the. Listener take a listen to this. Donna Where are you calling Hey my name's Tara I'm calling. From, central. New York hey? Tara what's your question My, question. Is for Sherry Sherry are the rumors? True that you're writing a tell all memoir about, your time on the view. If not everybody is involved so it's. Not only me it's joy it's I think everybody except Elizabeth and Jenny McCarthy, have contributed to the book but there is a. Tell all in the war Oh wow Like your own oral history of the view kind of it is it's. Our own it's our all of our views in one book about what. Went on so. It is we. Didn't hold we didn't have. Any. Bars hold talk. To Rosie did I talk? To, Rosie I think so every oh I think Lizzie engineer McCarthy probably are the. Only, two. That didn't contribute? Oh yeah why didn't they? You know why they. Didn't Jedi didn't have a great Ginny, I'm sure she, said she didn't have a great time on. The view and bid her departures I don't think she wanted to although. We, we. It would be? Really fun to have both I want. To read that book yes that, show what did how did you see it's going to get though I think it's going to. Be juicy I really do I'm, the fact that, Sherry referred to it as no holds barred I think they're speaking freely I really do Though the, show you know if I'm being brutally honest I don't want people to watch. It because I go up. Against my show But people hey it's doing well this season Oh I can't stand that, show, I, watch it every day only because, well, Hello our show. And I But That show fascinates. Me I used to watch it. Lex you, know I did that great experiment where I watched it every single day in Barbara Walters last, season and, I it's been a. Source it's been a source of fascination because of all the drama surrounding, it and the fact that look drama, aside you gotta give credit where Credit's due Barbara Walters and Bill. Gettys the creators of that, show they launched a whole new genre of television and that is that has touched almost every facet of. TV and what I mean by that is putting a group of people around the table and giving their. Opinions it look at every look at every local news. Station, now look.

"So that was the segment and then judge Janine said that she was really angry afterwards and she got into it with. The Booker told the Booker this is exactly what. I told you would happen and I guess there were other people who worked on the show and then Whoopi walks up to her because. They're in a commercial break and then the two of them exchange words here is what the judge had to. Say to TMZ about that Right now I don't mind Borges one I can, handle it but I don't like being mistreated by people who invite you to have a discussion and then treat you like you're less than what MRs This message for what we I tried to talk to her she didn't wanna listen Well he she said she said is. That kind of how What John you you've done cable TV for years and so have I and nobody likes feeling like they're ambushed and most of the time that I've done. Cable almost every time with mostly MSNBC and CNN and FOX they've always been nice to me a couple of times all. The person has ever been. Mean to me. Is joy Reid she's. Just nasty to everybody he, really is she's also a liar she gets she's. A hateful, horrible human being and not. Because she's a lefty Ed Schultz never. Treated me like that Chris Matthews never treated me like that you can have a discussion with someone. You disagree with in a. Polite way you've done for years I've done it for years, I don't understand why. The view get so nasty. So often and let's face it Whoopie just flat out nasty if, she doesn't agree. With you or doesn't like somebody you're supporting she's just nasty she really is a nasty woman. And that show has changed over time when Barbara was. There it was more genteel because people had respect for Barbara but, now that Barbara and the executive producer Bill. Getty, or gone it's, just the, inmates are running the asylum And you've got Whoopi who is, has very boutique. Political issues which is fine and, she's got a bunch of people that agree with her on the panel and then they invite someone who doesn't agree with them on politics but instead of having a. Discussion what they wanna do is they wanna turn you into a straw man and machine gun you well that's not productive. For anyone and it's also. Not good television. It's not entertaining to. Sit at home and watch, that when you're eating Cheerios no it's not an. Over the, years I've learned that a. Beam of light is not gonna come. Down into the studio and have them go oh yeah she's right they're not going to agree with. Me but we can still. Have a discussion and that's what it should be about because, the minute people start. Screaming on the radio TV. I'm all I'm done I'm gonna be going on I can have, discussions all day. Long with people that I disagree with but the minute you start screaming over me are you. Turn it into a Twitter feed is the minute that. I can't have a back and forth anymore because it's not you, don't wanna have a discussion with the purse And you just want someone, to scream, at that's. It that's really what it is you, wanna punching bag and listen I was on NBC somebody time so they'd Schultz. Usually there'd be at least two sometimes three liberals against me that's okay as. Long as everybody's polite and. Sometimes they get mad and and they get feisty with me I can, take it but ultimately the host is the, one who sets the tone and as you? Mentioned since Barbara left the inmates are running it won't be just brought it down to a nasty level let's listen to Whoopi steak You come to this show which, we'd everybody with respect. You cannot come and call people names you cannot point of. People and you can't, do this to, people and people who, know Janine xactly when I'm talking about they know that she. Likes to stir it up I rarely get stirred up but I got started up yesterday I did apologize to give a high I said that doesn't happen often every ten years.

"Epa of course was more upset with him because i was my own show so i know what a split screen as grey she's talking right there above the fact that remember when elizabeth and rosie started fighting vast role room which was split screen which they had never done before on the view so it fuelled rosy speculation that bill getty hated her and rosie hated bill getty the epa the executive producer doesn't happen without practice it doesn't happen they had never done a split screen on the show before saturday in i think they wanted to blame the director instead of the epa though i think that he gave the more active and bill and they're you know it was an unhealthy environment there wouldn't you say there were a lot of secrets about some of the staff members that you were not allowed to say like a severely dysfunctional family involving relationships that you were not allowed to talk about and and children that were there that you couldn't discuss where they came from and was rainsy as dysfunctional family and i walked in the middle of it and they all had been living it for such a long time that i was like are you kidding me we're not allowed to acknowledge what is in front of our face and look joys like i'm not saying anything because this is the truth and one of the people involved in that was one of the people involved in this what screen nco it was to me a little bit of a get back at rosy j tyga he's telling the truth there is a lot to unpack their legs in dawn i watched that clip one day why is this not getting more traction god children running around the sect that you're not allowed to acknowledge where the children came from will act an relationships you're not allowed to acknowledge so was moment is she implying that getty was having an affair or something in these were kids of a nola lionel know is it.
