"I'm Bill Doyle. As always, The show is schizophrenic. We're gonna start off with some fun stuff. We're gonna get serious later on. As always, If you only listen to one hour, you might think we're raging lunatic liberals another hour, You might think we're incredibly callous Conservatives. Or a third hour. You might think we never talk about anything serious at all. You never know, but we're going to have Declan O Scanlon on. He's a state senator, and he's a Republican. He's gonna talk to us. This is in the four o'clock hour. He's gonna talk to us briefly about the nonsense that went on last week with the voting. On the state budget. And how they gave just like so many minutes to absorb something that would have taken hours to read. And I just I want to know how many times like we hear that at the federal level. We've heard this before the state level. How many things get passed? Lawmakers don't even have an opportunity to read happens all the time. Yeah, I assume they don't read most of them. I mean, even the ones that they do cover, even the ones that they have time to you mean he had, like an aid will do it and then distill it to a briefing, you know? I couldn't do that. Yeah, I could never do that. I could understand why, for simple matters. They might. Yes, but something like a budget that is so intricate and so massive, and I think I'll ask him, but I I lightly read this. And I think it was some nonsense like I think they were going to have like at first, like 16 minutes. Uh huh. And then they like argued, and they were like, Okay, we'll give you an hour. It was like it's like trying to read war and peace in the narrow you can't do it, but anyway that he just got some things to say about the gubernatorial election this year, and so we'll get into all that later on, but Oh, and also at some point, I have to tell you how close our traffic reporter Tom Rivers. Came to a life of crime and stealing a car. Yes, he was seemed like such a nice fellow. I know, but I think he's turning. Yeah, I don't know. I have you been hanging out with him. I know that Teardrop tattoo you got from your prison days. Because he came this close to going off with somebody else's car. I'm glad he didn't do it. Oh, yeah. So it's this functions got the better of him. So is his wife. She was there to really it. We've been the two of them. Yeah. Bonnie and Clyde. Yes, as we'll talk about that later on, but It's just hot man. It is hot and car said it was 93 when I got into it this morning, not 11 30. Now I know that's not official, right, but it's still hot. Probably hadn't had it been even hit noon yet. Yeah, and it's not everywhere. I mean shore towns, it might be lower, but in much of New Jersey it is it is in the nineties. And, um, the warmest spot which I'm not sure where that is, But I'm looking right now. Oh, I I do see it. Egg Harbor City 97. Wow, 97 to Krys right now. But the thing of it is with the humidity. They say it feels even hotter. They say much of New Jersey will feel like 100 today. And I wrote something about this, Um yesterday because I knew that we were going into another heat wave. And I was thinking about the past times like it's becoming kind of a tradition that during one heat wave during the summer, we have done that thing where we allow people to call in with its so hot jokes, and they're usually hilarious. They're just great classic jokes. Are you baiting me? Are you being ironic? Are you Are you insane? And they're always brand new ones, too. Well, that's that's true sometimes, but the Yeah Yeah, a lot of times the recycle right and we want to do a round of that because I realize The last few summers. I don't think we have missed one. And what we do is I I offer up $20. This is out of my own pocket. That's why it's not higher. Okay? This is not the station. This is my own money, But I will offer up $20 to anybody who could successfully call in come on the air telling it's so hot joke. And actually get even an audible chuckle out of me, let alone a laugh doesn't count if I left, right? It's not right because Bill will find some of these cute funny whatever. I have something dead inside me when But that's going to go on a promo was You could really just take that out of context. Can't you know when it comes to a couple of few things? One of them is bumper stickers. I don't know what it is. But I almost always get almost angry that people put bumper stickers on their cars. I don't care what animal life you want to save. I don't care about your stick figure family. And when they when they try to be funny bumper stickers. Honestly, I don't know if I ever left at one or even like, not even in my head laughed. I mean, I don't I don't know if I ever have. There's something wrong with me. And when it comes to these, it's so hot jokes. Same thing. Extremely rarely, almost never have I found any of them funny. So some summers ago. We thought this was kind of like a fun challenge. Because it's pretty top of mind. On a day like this. It's really hot. It's going to remain hot for the next two days to So if you call us up at 1 800 to 831 Oh, 1.5 and give us any kind of it's so hot joke if you get even a slight chuckle, Ghaffar Anything out of me. Then we will put you back on hold will get your address. And we will say, Well, I will save you 20 bucks. And that's good for the whole hour. Not not just the first person to do it if five people do it, which has never ever happened. Final cough up 100 bucks 1 800 to 8311.5. So who's got it?.

"And I'm Bill Doyle. Just in theory. I'm not saying I'm gonna do it. Just in theory, Yes. If one were to buy a power washer like a professional. Do your entire house kind of industrial power washer right and shove it up their nose. Would that kill them? Power washing your Sinuses kill you. I'm talking like highest setting. Will that kill you? How'd you have the one set like streamers? Spray? Ah, probably stream Not a good idea. Let me tell you that I don't think it would end. Well, if it would actually kill you, But it would do some damage. Okay? All right, And I sold my power washer so I can help you out anyway. Turning into Felix Unger for Yes, for you for younger people for younger people who don't know there's this whole thing called the odd couple. It was once a movie really, even before our time, And then when we were kids there were there's a TV show. Hey, I'm sure you've heard of it. Then it was on Broadway later. But yeah, I I'm turning until like Felix Unger, Sinus guy for like the last 2.5 weeks. He used to make this honking sound when it's time to, uh, tell you clear your Sinuses when blow his nose. Just make that noise, right? Exactly. Yeah, that's what that's what I'm slowly turning into. Anyway, Your phone number is 1 802 831 Oh 1.5. Oh, I saw something that I don't think that this is necessary at all. Uh, there are. There are some lawmakers that are advancing legislation that would tell the attorney general that he has to notify Chiefs of police. Across the state. That that they are allowed to set up safe exchange zones for Craigslist type of thing I've heard of those right many. Many police departments have already done this on their own. They either set up a little thing in their parking lot, and they have sign Ege, and it explains that everything is being monitored and recorded by video camera. Some will actually allow you to come right into their lobby. Right in front of the desk Sergeant, and they don't get involved in the transaction. But if something goes down if you've got if you've got a creep, if you got a con man than then it would all be recorded or there will be a witness. Because these things have happened. These things have gone sideways. Sometimes. Sometimes people use these and I'm just going to often use the word Craigslist. But there's so many of these now these online marketplaces. But I'm just going to use that kind of like a catch all but these Craigslist situations Sometimes they have been used just to set people up. You know, because they know There is there is either going to be a brand new iPhone on the person PS five or right or there's going to be, you know the equivalent of money on the person, depending which way they're pretending to do the transaction. And things get ugly. But we really need do we really need lawmakers to get involved? Couldn't one lawmaker just call up Gerbier Gray wall and say, Hey, you know, it would be a good idea. Could you just, like, send out like a mass email? I'm sure you've got like all the police chiefs. Of course, right? Can you just do that? This is how government works. I'm not saying it's a terrible idea, but number one. Probably every police chief out there knows that they conduce this because guess what they read newspapers, too. You know, and I talked to their colleagues in other towns were doing it right. That is probably very few and far between that does not know that they're allowed to do this. But number two if they just want to be sure the does this have to be like, Okay, let's put it through a committee. Now. Let's put it through a full vote. Now let's kick it over to the Senate side is can they put it on their resume? If they don't get an official bill, right, exactly like, how about just say Hey, good beer. Hey, I just haven't idea of that. I've just noodling. Maybe you want to tell these guys just in case they don't know. And I wouldn't even be surprised if the answer would have been. Oh, you already did. Oh, I'm sorry. Like, I wonder. Did they even check that? That didn't already happen? Good question. Or did they just blindly go ahead and start drafting legislation? But anyway, the subject came up about these marketplaces about these online sales transactions where you meet up somewhere. Has anybody ever had any suspicion? Do you ever feel like you were maybe getting set up? Like like a creeper, a crook or a con man was maybe behind this. And maybe you didn't even go through with the meeting. Or if you did, did you actually make sure that you had it in a very safe place a public place. Mall. Even a, You know, one of these safe exchange places in a police parking lot. What kind of stories are out there? And I'm not saying that we're gonna get like full blown. Oh, yeah. He pulled a knife out. I'm just saying, like, even in the email, Did you ever like have your antenna go up and think this doesn't sound right? I'm just going to pass on this one. Even if you never did meet them. But did you ever get suspicious of one of these? Like Craigslist type of situations? 1 802 831. Oh one point. There was a story last year about the kid who had the PS four. And got assaulted. Didn't end well for him at all. Just trying to get make a few extra bucks. You know, there are all sorts of nasty people out there. I mean, you could be something as innocuous as well. It was a brick instead of an iPhone once I got home and unwrapped it. But yes, some people are up to real various ends. Yeah. So who's got a story? And are you totally comfortable doing these things? Or did it always work? Well, I mean, I'm sure there's probably it. I'm sure it works. Well, 99.9% of the time so popular, right? I'm sure Usually, most people are good. You don't have to worry about anything. But did you ever just start to get like a little creepy vibe about any of these 1 802 831? Oh, 1.5. There was a story. I should have looked this up, actually, but it was definitely a New Jersey story and it was about a guy that ended up getting mugged. I want to say it was for an iPhone. And it was like a Craig's like Craig's list like thing where they wanted to meet somewhere they were going to either sell the guy an iPhone or buy an iPhone off of him. One of the other I can't remember which But the meeting place was what was really weird. This guy Agreed with.

"On Bill Doyle and I'm Jess Tyminski Way have a couple of news items. We would like Tonto dive a little bit deeper into then been Patrick happen anytime now. I'll read these regardless. That the kind of news items that I feel Having Kylie listen to I'm not sure that she's willing to do that. But if she happens to be nearby hearing this It would be awesome. Oh, there she is. Oh, you could just ask me. Hey, Hey, Kylie. I was trying to through the window, but you didn't understand what I was trying to say. Not at all. I was in here for like, 10 minutes beforehand. Why didn't you just say some things? I didn't think of it then. And you know why? Because I was in the last few seconds before we came on. I was reading ah, deeper into the details. The devil is in the details. Man. These are pretty grim. Oh, no. Okay, Well, we'll start. We'll start your life, okay? And May I say, I hope everybody's okay in all these situations, all right? You don't have a snow blower. Kylie. Yeah, yeah. Did you ever operated? No, I don't trust myself with that. Do you Okay? And why? Cause it looks big and confusing. Big interview. You're describing me, right? No, but you could you could damage your limbs if you stick your hand too far in there, right? What? You know that? Their blades. Well, it's something like a blade I would refer to. It is a spinning with all that. I think they call it an auger. Right? Right, right. But when it's going fast enough, might as well be like called the blade. Right, Okay. Right. So first in Millstone, Kylie. Snowblower and 59 year old woman met up The way it happened was The snow blower was being operated by a family member. Um we'll call him defendant in divorce Court. No, I I don't know if it was the husband not but Uh, somebody is using the snow blower on the property. Uh, this 59 year old woman is out there. Apparently, the person either didn't see her or didn't realize that running the snowblower over her foot wouldn't be a good would not be a good idea. No, that that's not even the worst story. It doesn't deeply none of you heard different bill. But this one my version of this It doesn't say exactly what it did There have the same story you do, Okay, but it injured her foot. It injured her foot. She was alert and conscious when troopers arrived, but the good why use recoiling alert? I think I know I was about to actually mention this. I think, go ahead because she can feel it. She's got a story 00. That's not what I was thinking. I was just thinking. You know how bad this injury must be. If it needs to be pointed out that they were alert and conscious, it's almost like saying Somehow, against all odds against all odds. They were actually alert and conscious, right? Yeah, exactly. But there was no word on her condition. She was taken to Central State Medical Hope she'll be fine. And I hope these next two gentlemen will be as well. Both of these stories. Also, snow blowers were from Teaneck. One man. Had several fingertips. Severed. Yeah, it's gonna leave a mark. While another nearly lost his entire finger and a pair of snow blowing mishaps. This was yesterday in Teaneck. The first victim, 43 year old guy. Brought This severed fingertips with them. To holy name Medical center. Something about tips. I don't like plural. I don't like being able to carry him in Look. What do you mean that they shouldn't be removable. Without a longer They will be brought the tips in. No, they were supposed to come with him Regardless. Yeah, but I mean, he did the right thing. Hopefully they can reattach. Of course. Yeah, but yeah, that's like What do you bring them in? Who you know, But you gotta think about stuff like that. Like, Don't they say certain things. What is it? It's not a tooth because can be reattached a tooth. Isn't there something they say, like packing, like putting some milk or something alone? You know? I don't know, but I don't know if about milk isn't there? I don't know. I need you recommendations for milk. I'm not sure what I'm thinking off. But anyway, so s so that was that was victim number one or two. If you're counting the millstone story. And then the other victim. 30 year old person. Also a guy. Uh, he also got himself to the hospital after being able to remove his injured hand. Oh, God intact, but his finger was apparently Dangling off so Yeah. Uh, These are dangerous. They are You look at those things spinning when you're breaking up a clog with the with the stick that they provide with the snow blower. Now, hand right, you think? Wow, that's a that's nasty. But see, you have to think. You know, Would it be easy to do to just like lose your grip? You're out there in the cold For long enough. Your hand is maybe losing feeling you're trying to do with the safe way. You're trying to clear that clog with the stick. Maybe your hand just goes flying off that it's all an accident. It just grabs the tip of your finger boot Ram right off, you know. Yeah, There's something to say about a shovel. Maybe maybe I'm gonna tell my dad to stick to shoveling. Hey, maybe you should do it yourself. Tell my dad So I'm gonna tell my dad to shovel E was worried about his fingers. Yeah, but But that's what we'll say. It wasn't like, you know, I'm gonna offer. It's a shovel for my dad so he doesn't get hurt. No, don't order my dad to do it The more laborious way way that you still do all the heavy lifting, but just making even ever you're still don't get tonight on, Let's scream it. Young, strapping last You could do it. That's the nicest thing you've ever said about me, Bill. Thank you. All right. So here's what we would like to know. At 1 802 831 of 1.5 the lesson here. Machines can be dangerous. Guys know this. Many women know it. Too many learned it the hard way. We'll call this the rise of the machines. When were you injured by a machine that you were working with women?.

"I don't I'll get on that radio and I'm Bill Doyle. Right, Bill? Yes. Which one of these sounds luckier to you. I'm gonna read you two sets of numbers, okay? Nine that one Then it ended up a whole set. 9 43 44 48 57 26 Or for 10, 30 35 58 5. Definitely the second one. Yes. Same. Yeah. And is it because of my reasoning? My reasoning was too many in the forties, all cramped into together. No. The first one starts with nine. Which is German for No, No, that's not gonna hit But how come when you thought I was just going to give a single number? You said that one when they said nine. Is that I was taking a route nine and I looked like a different thought for us, okay? Vote. Those are the first lines on the two different lottery tickets that I bought. Um there's kind of a whim. You know, I don't like play this every week. And they both got When I say both. I'm talking Powerball and mega millions. They both got pretty far over 200 million years. They did now know these are not like, you know, as large of jackpots, as the nation has seen not close to a billion. Yeah, exactly. So they're not that big, but I don't know. I just thought It's the same birds get in your Christmas I realized there's not a chance in hell. I'm actually going to win. But just imagine that that would be a happier Christmas, right. It would be. Yeah, Several. Several $100 million will be nice. And then you know what? I looked up. What Was your odds of winning? No, I know. It's like 290 something million to one, I think. No, I looked up what? The more common numbers are two hit in lotteries. Yes, and they actually do have it. And for mega millions. The main numbers, not the you know, not that extra. To 17 31 39 4 46 are the ones that come up most often. So did you play those? No, No, I just got machine fix. I looked these up after the fact Right And then in Powerball whole different set. 26 41 16 28 22 23 Most common won Powerball. Most common one is six. I don't have a single six on my ticket. The mega ball most common one is three. I don't have a single three my second, but those are most common ones. All of that to say in the six o'clock hour tonight just for some fun going to give away some money that clearly I don't have Um Do one of those lottery wish list. Okay, You know, it's one of those things Where surely you're not really gonna hit that? If you do we always have people like calling with a little lottery fantasy for $2 million just in case. Something else. Start thinking about this now. Because later in the show we're gonna need your help and trying to come up with some parody lyrics for a song. I was thinking about starts thinking what rhymes with Free. Doves, hens. Birds rings. Laying, swimming, milking, dancing, leaping, piping and drumming. All these would have to relate somehow to Cove. It That's a tall order. Yeah. Looking for one of the I. Ng's Okay, maybe But we're gonna try. I'm gonna try. Uh, try to see if we can. Collectively with listeners Put together parody Song of the 12 Days of Christmas called the 12 Days of Cove. It Here. We could do that. I think people have had plenty of timeto ruminate over the impact of cove. Oh, my God. Yeah, yeah. And this wee way if you're on the side of it, that you're just discussed it with them. Well, I think everybody's disgusted with it. But you could vent. You could go after Murphy if you want or, you know, whatever you want to do. Eyes sing the praises of first responders. But we'll do that later on in the show. Our phone number in the meantime, is 1 802 831 a 1.5. There was this woman and freehold. And she did something that makes me want to talk about. The weirdest thing that you ever had stolen because this woman was charged in the theft of Trump sign in Jackson. Yep, 29 Year old woman from Freehold. Charge. This is from his brief our press charged with theft after the cops recovered a trump sign actually multiple recovered Trump campaign signs she allegedly stole Monday from a township residents lawn. Police officer went to the home shortly after three on the residents report that an unidentified woman stole two signs and support of Trump. The resident turned over to the cop. Picture of the woman and gave him the license plate of the vehicle that she was driving. Uh, the cop went to the home, retrieve the sign. Sure enough, yeah, complaint charge. The woman with theft on that complaint has been mailed to her, but that's really all it says. But why? You know the election's over? That's the point. I'm making right. Why? Why would you do this? I mean, Even before the election. Why you just don't do that? That's just that's just bad for man. I don't care how much you might have hated Trump, but they've got every right to put a sign in there want if they support absolutely even wrote a thing about this back like last month or October whenever it was But after the election, especially what do you care? Yeah, I don't know. They have some other beef. That's all it says. But that's kind of a strange thing that we just want to walk into somebody's property and steal. So did you ever have anything rather odd? Not saying it has to be a political sign. It could be. But I'm saying anything at all like something that you thought There's really very little value in that for somebody else. Why would they have taken that? But did you ever have something stolen out of your car off your porch out of your desk at work? Whatever it might be, was the weirdest thing anybody ever says like surprises. Oh, yeah, We could have her coworkers call in at the beginning of the film. Jack stole my stapler. Yeah. Oh, it wasn't even that good. It was stuff like somebody had, like a little liquidy bottle. Uh, because they didn't want to lick the envelopes. Oh, yeah, It's like totally stupid stuff that when everybody fled for the hills of the beginning of a pandemic, we ran out of prizes. You're like, Let's just like take value was crap and just turn it into something one week. But what about you? Did you ever have did you have somebody steals something That was a little unusual from you? What's the weirdest thing? 1 802 831 on 1.5 to 8. Excuse me A 2 18, New Jersey Fast traffic..

"I I've been able to do a couple of stuff like games in my life as a reporter. It's been a blessing for sure. I don't know if you know that you're a legend amongst the rest of the reporters or I'm sure you do know this wage. One of the things you were legendary for is your placement at every single either interview with Brad or interview. You are literally you have the pole placement like the first person right next to him and every single post game interview our pre-game interview. And before we got here we have to go secret of how you're able to wind your way through everybody and get to that spot off cuz that's thank you for the past twenty-seven just you right there for the past twenty years right next to everybody. What is the secret? How did you do it? Well again, I started just doing remember why I started doing it but I started asking the first question and then it became a tradition and the other reporters liked it when I asked the first question because they didn't have too and am seriously and then they could think longer like what what what do I want to ask the coach? What do I want to ask pump years and maybe I could ask a follow-up. All right could like soften him. With a question first kind of thing. So they would let me get up in the front. They would like open, you know, it was like Moses see if he could let me get up their bills. Go ahead ask and even in the last couple of years when I wasn't around quite as much they would say Billiards still going to ask the first question. So that was part of it. They helped them. They helped it happen. I'm I'm just every time I've gone you were the first in line every single I'm like, you know the kids yet that line outside the lot from Mister sit there and wait and wait wait wait for them to open the doors of twists and tell you it's okay. You're always the first guy in line every single time and I was like, I was I do it. How does he do this? Every single time? This guy is amazing unbelievable. Thank you. That's what I'll be known for is the first question. Did you feel any pressure every time you had asked the first one? Yeah, I definitely did. What a my last tonight. I got nothing else. I would just think of something last second. Worse things to be known for and a lot of great things that you're known for. "So as we're joined Here by Bill Doyle again days away from his retirement kind enough. He said earlier the last thing he's doing before retirement is, you know, taking some time with the the two of us Knuckleheads on the Celtics beat podcast. He said the thing bill that you're going to miss most is offering people your thoughts good news. That's a perfect unscripted Avenue to give us your thoughts. Let's get into this current team a little bit, especially with what has gone on of late. How is this team? And we'll get to the nitty-gritty obviously of transactions, but just on the surface this team what has happened this offseason with players reporting for training camp in just a matter of a couple of days and then the season beginning in a few weeks off and is this team shape up from where we last saw them in the bubble. Well, they're smaller. You know, I think there are good team and I think they'll go as far as they did last year. It's going to hurt losing Garden Hayward. I don't know if Thompson is going to be much worse than Canter. Maybe the different kind of players. It's all depends on is Kemba Walker going to be healthy. And how far is Tatum and brown going to take them? I mean, they're two great young players and they have to be great for the South are the goal to the finals. I agree with that. I mean, it's it's it's you know, it's unfortunate that Boston is head of rely on young talent for so long. It's it's it's for sure that those two are responded very well in terms of trying to carry a team to go back to that first run, you know, no Kyrie no Gordon Hayward to really green guys trying to put together off and and you know kind of figure it out the fly what what about the two guys Jason and Jaylen have impressed you the most I've talked to a couple people like their maturity for the how young they are is really impressive. I mean both gave, you know, you know Jason and JJ Lin both of them super impressive super mature have really grown their games with the past couple years. What's the most impressive thing about him in Europe in your bill? Well, the most impressive thing is they're improving every single year. They're adding something to their game. They're not young players anymore. They're young. But I I remember last not this year off last season during the playoffs. So in 2019,.

"Windshield with a spatula guess it's all yeah. I didn't work out the way it's funny that you mentioned that that play and how that's like, what's your first season sound ended then you have the flip side and it wasn't exactly the ending of it, but it was a start of the end of this season is Jayson Tatum getting blocked by them at a bayou by the playoffs and the Eastern Conference game is kind of nice symmetry for you there Bill. Yes. Yeah for sure. And and one of the thing is I didn't cover the Celtics a lot this season, you know Jim Fenton from the Brockton Enterprise. is covered if a gate house I moved on to other things but I think the Celtics this year. What about as far as you could have expected to them too? Nice if they beat Miami, but they weren't going to beat the Lakers. No sad is that is I I agree with it. I mean I I do think it would have been and this is really no slight on Miami because there were so many significant injuries in that series, but I think it would have been a more competitive series of the Celtics been in the finals, but I don't know maybe there's some level of bias there for me. I don't think so. But when you think back on the last forty years and I know obviously wrote about it and just you know the growth that you experienced as an individual or personal life obviously and in between your wife and kids and grandkids and so on and so forth not just obviously what you did professionally but what you did do for work in being a reporter over the last forty years and how much the medium has changed and how much the media has changed and you know, the the internet and social media and just the way you went about covering your job access to players relationships. All of them being able to now Express themselves as opposed to through you guys, but directly on social media or whatever their own platforms may be dead. How was your your job your role really changed over the years to where we are now. Well when I first started covering the Celtics in the Bruins, you would write your story on basically a typewriter..

"Welcome in everyone to another new edition of selfish beat. This is off the a very special one for a variety of reasons among them that as producer Evan Valenti and I were joking about just a little while ago off the air news actually broke before the the show so we could incorporate that it's off as opposed to about an hour after we post the show and Gordon hayward's trade or sign and trade with the Charlotte Hornets. That is complete. It is done all those people that said Danny Ainge got nothing fire him. Joseph I the guy didn't happen and we can get into all the specifics of the Indiana situation obviously over the course of the show, but the Celtics and swap of draft picks, which is really not the important part of the Hornets trade Rave create a trade exception worth 28 and 1/2 million dollars. So this is only one piece of the story. The larger piece is over the course of the next year while people are still vilifying Danny Ainge is not able to use it. Does he choose to use it and we know a lot of the time these trade exceptions do not get used will this one be used and you know, can the Celtics bring in either another star or some key rotational players off of this is to be examined, but first and foremost, we are pleased thrilled to be joined by Bill Doyle who is just in in a matter of days in the next couple of days. He's already announced that he is retiring after 40 years at the Worcester Telegram and Gazette covering the Boston Celtics among so many other things Bill. Thank you for being with us. And of course congratulations. Thank you very much for inviting me to be on edge. Show well, all right, so I I have to start with this I think and I I tweeted out to the people any questions that you have for Bill and for this show about the Celtics, please fire him over and so she got we got a whole bunch and and we will you know acknowledge a whole bunch of them later on in the show. But where I want to begin is because you are so well-known renowned for asking the same question, you know not unlike Johnny Miller obviously covering the Red Sox. Do you have any questions for us anything that you want to ask us because we know that you are Adept when it comes to asking the first question. Yeah. My question is why would you want to interview me? What what are we doing here exactly. Where do we start the actual passion? Yeah. Yeah, you are a legend of coverage at my friend. I mean there were a great many reasons to have you on the show. I know obviously Danny Ainge tweeted at you Chris forsberg a longtime friend of yours. He was tweeting about how you are..

"Kaminsky and Doyle. I'm Bill Doyle know Jeff Tyminski today in his place, Ladies and gentleman, Joe Voter Beulah Page o, You don't, um all right. Also in the room. May I introduce Kylie Kylie Mohr? Because Kylie as ah, story to share with us an anecdote if you will. Oh, yeah, baby. So what happened to you? I found out this weekend that my cousin is pregnant. Congratulations to your cousin. Thank you. I'm excited for her. I found out via text, though, which I found very weird. Is an unacceptable I would have expected a face time. Did she text you directly? She texted. Let's see 11 people. Ha! Huge family group chat with Joe that bad. Yeah, agreed. I mean, we're not even talking about it like a personalized just to Kylie Text. This is just the art. Let's just Just go through the motions. We'll just tell everyone at once. Nothing special. By the way. We're having a baby. Now. Here be part of this group chat. Yeah, she won't care about you. Sam's here to Sam's Here. Hi. Thanks for having me here. If you're going to put in an 11 person group chat to get something announced like that. That's just like I'm going through the motions doing the due diligence of Let's just say nothing at all. It must be generational because When my wife was pregnant, my wife my wife when she was pregnant. I think he called my mom and told my mom that we're gonna have a baby. And then I told her to call all my siblings. Wow, that's so heartless. I have so many siblings. I do five was like I'm not calling all of them Here. You do all the work, mom. Moms like to impart that kind of news. You didn't want to tell your siblings that you were having that your wife was with child. No, I mean, I didn't think it was that unique. A situation. I mean, we were happy, but I didn't expect other people to be as excited as we were before your family excited cause it's our baby. Of course, we're going to be really excited about it. For everybody else's. I got somebody else is having a kid I just are you talking about for me, okay, Because you say it like it, Especially when I'm the first kid. So what would you do with my other two siblings? Did you call or tell anyone for them? I'm pretty sure it's probably part of the Christmas newsletter. It followed the same routine called Grandma and Mom, Baby. If you want to disseminate that news, if that re swear we'll find out sooner or later. Oh, my God, It's better than finding out on face. I found out today. My cousin your nephew. Did you see on we found it on Facebook. Today he's engaged. I already knew that. Oh, you know, my sister texted away so your siblings will talk to you. You just won't talk to them. This wasn't in the era of texting. This is 20 forgot to call them now I could have called them. That's a lot of calls. Well, hold on. I mean, let's backtrack. So we wanted to talk about texting etiquette. Not whether or not I'm a jerk. I like where we found Well, let's talk about what is acceptable to do via text. What kind of information is acceptable? To impart via text and what is not. So you're all three of you. It's your position. Telling someone you're pregnant by text is unacceptable. Correct? Correct? Yeah. Okay. What if you're not that close? I mean, are you close to your cousin? Do you hang out? Yes, I was in her wedding last year. She's you think I'd get a face? She just put it on Facebook for everyone to see. And you have. I mean destruction to send you a gift. Okay, now you said it was 11 of you. Yes, OK, or the the other 11 like as closer closer or what? I would say as close my sisters maybe a little closer to earth than I am. And she was part of the group. Text Yes. Okay, but that's 11 people. She should have called each and every one of you know, she couldn't. She should go months. She should have at least called like me and my sister Kendall. Why? Why're you special Because we were in her wedding. You'd think we'd be closer to her. Please call your parents Let one of them No. Yes. But then there are the cauldron else. Like I'm close enough to be in your wedding and your wedding on your special day, but not get a facetime that you're with child. I think you're making too big a deal out of this. Actually, I mean, I can see something's not being acceptable via text. I think a birth announcement from I'm not a woman whose wedding you were in You seem to not think that birth is a big deal. It is a big deal. It's a big deal to the mother. And the father is a huge deal with the biggest deal they can have. And you didn't care enough to call your siblings. I cared. I cared about me about my generation of new uncles and aunts on they just have to find out secondhand. Wait. I'm sorry. How do you feel about death? You think Death should be a phone call, or do you think Death could be a text? How well do I know the person? You were in their wedding last year to death a little more serious than pregnancy. What I'm with you on that one death. That's a major life change coming back. So it's a new life. A life being taken is a more of a personal thing that tells one than a life being creator outnumbered here, Kylie. I think you guys were wrong. Well, I air on the side of pretty much There's like a small top tier of things were you call someone? I'm a big text person. Pretty much anything. Let him let me know through text. I need to talk to on the phone. But the needs certain situations. You gotta You gotta give the call. The only thing with texting with people that die I would say yes, Joe is Like for some people that maybe that's like all they could. They could bring themselves to do maybe calling people about a loved one. Dying might be too hard for them. So maybe I could see it in that situation, But overall, I mean, still like you would prefer to be in person. I mean, that's a very Personal thing to go through. It's tough. Can I call my dad and have him? Tell everybody? My mom's dead? I can't use her anymore. Oh, my God. Thank you. Doyle's air. Just heartless, realistic. Is it OK to break up with someone via text? Depends on dating. I think it depends on that. If you've never got into like the official like label phase, I think it's okay to text someone. Hey, it's not really I'm not really feeling anymore. What if you've seen each other naked is at a breaking point. That's no big deal. Because I have this list of Ah 11 things you should never do via text message. And breaking up with one of them is something in one of them. And then they say, Well, if you were close enough to be seen naked with them, or even talk about the future than have the courtesy to call or meet in person. You through over bar meet nowadays nowadays, like seeing someone naked and then like talking about getting married. Those are totally different ends of the spectrum. So you don't think it's okay? I mean, you don't think there's any problem. It's breaking up with someone over text. I think if you go out in, like two or three dates, if you hang out a couple of times and you're not feeling it, then you can just cut your losses and say, Hey, it's not working out via text. But if you're Actually, like pursuing it and are exclusive and it's established that you're trying to date each other then yet you should be in person or at least over the phone. All right, So we're gonna talk about what is okay and what is not OK due to do via text. Breaking up. Birth announcement. Wedding announcement. How about getting fired? Is it okay to fire someone via text? Oh, don't give our boss's ideas. I mean, it's it be easier if you would have to go into work 1 800 to 831 on 1.5.

It will be mostly cloudy and breezy, very warm and humid highs in the mid eighties tomorrow Sunday, still steamy, with highs near 90 but I suspect it'll be the brighter better day of the week end with partly sunny skies, spotty showers and maybe a thunderstorm possible on Sunday to and then Monday, turning less humid with lots of Sunshine and still pretty hot highs in the upper eighties to around 90 from the Edison heating and cooling Weather Desk on chief meteorologist Dan Zero. "Minsky and oil on Jeff Kaminsky and on bill Doyle okay bill yes let's see I guess we'll start with the phone call first and then move on to our co workers total inability to run a microwave okay but this hour this is indeed a totally for fun thing I'm no longer going to make it about age after finding something out about Kylie this could be an anything personal error in or anything the problem technology that's stumped someone you know now you know how like back in the day when computers started coming out things like this or what I like your grandpa would have to have you come over to try to get his VCR back when they had VCRs to stop blinking twelve o'clock rails right but technology has ramped up at a dizzying pace and it doesn't have to even be any longer that your old to be stumped by something technologically speaking truth right so this is not me an old person thing this isn't any person thing but technology that stump someone you know who's got a funny story about no matter how many times you try to explain it but they just couldn't get one eight hundred two eight three one a one point five no first of all couple days ago I tried to call my mom and I got her voice mail at the time I was out on a walk with Cooper that's a he's only three okay so I thought we would be cute I don't normally leave her a voicemail I'll just try another time but I was like I he's right here it's quiet so I get down and I'm talking to him like to tell him what to say so I got him to say it is a little three year old voice hello Grammy right so she got this voicemail you know hello Graham and then later that day she calls me back she leaves a voicemail she's talking in the voicemail like she's talking to Cooper I guess the idea was she wanted me to then play this later for him right all right I'm not gonna play the whole thing we just have the tail end of it because once she's done talking to him listen very closely it kind of go it it's kind of distant you could crank it all the way volume if you want to listen how she has no idea how to hang up the phone she's had the same cell phone for years doesn't have a clue all right listen I hope I see you barely very soon you can act okay listen closely it it.

"D. I'm Jeff Minsky and I'm bill Doyle all right so once again lots of angry people because of something that I wrote and it's about protests that are going on now the main reason I wrote this obviously our focus is on New Jersey and what happened in Lansing Michigan days ago was even mentioning it but now there is something kind of may be similar not nearly as big that might be happening in Sussex county or at least the person who might be organizing it is from Sussex county he's kind of being coy about where this might be but there there are he and I with you and and you can read what I wrote it's honored to Menschen Doyle page NJ one one five dot com but they also about an hour ago put it up on the stations Facebook page and that's where the comments are going crazy but there might be that protest of the closing of parks and also in general the stay at home orders and all of the closures and and restrictions the same apparently was going on today with the motorcade that was now at least a motorcade you're staying in your car yes yeah and that's what the Lansing protests initially was talked about being because it was called operation gridlock in but as you know we turned into a lot of people not in car really around yeah big big groups of people but the one in Trenton today apparently was just kind of a motorcade and it was like and apparently I mean I wasn't there but what I hear the grapevine is was like no more than like two dozen cars yeah it was it was quite small in respect for them what's up that the state guard that yet they got their point across we're talking about it yeah we all anti gun yet they didn't cause any big problems about right things William or more power to you right well the one in Lansing the the Michigan nurses association in Lansing they did they had a big problem with it in Lansing because well for one there on the front line and their whole point is what we're doing now with the stay at home orders that governor Whitmer did out there our governor Murphy did here it is trying to slow the spread and these front line workers and icy use as you know they're getting sick from from this coronavirus and some of them clearly they don't want to die and they wrote this scathing thing about that Lansing protests talking about how apparently and I don't know if this is accurate but they were claiming that that access to the hospital was being blocked yes via the motorcade and there was an ambulance trying to get there and that that was problematic to but anyway my point is I wrote a piece about these protests now I understand the normal times you get your right to protest and I would not take that away I think what happened in Trenton today is an example of how you could protest in a different way you know not getting out of your car still getting your point across getting people like us to talk about this it making news on some levels to get your point out there without actually becoming part of the problem but but here's the thing what all these protests have in common and the ones in Jersey and the Lansing they're not the only one that's been happening in other states to the common denominator is people are pro testing the social distancing rules the stay at home orders and basically want everything to be opened up again and they want it now okay we put at the end of what I wrote and what I wrote by the way if you don't feel like reading it I mean I'll just tell you my point of this is if protesters got their way and either nothing was ever shut down or we open it all back up prematurely that many more people are going to be that and my other point of this and that's just common sense I mean if you're gonna try to deny that that's really kind of just turning your back on the science here of the numbers you know if you just open up everything too early you have people mixing about him I'm obviously more you know the the the death toll is going to end up being higher that's just common sense and my other point was the rights obviously are incredibly important but there there's there's very rarely a right that is an absolute right and you know you've got all kinds of rights that have limits to them especially when you have an emergency situation going on like this at some point you have to realize that you're right is going to be affected by the danger to the public just like okay people talk about well why can't we have gatherings in churches forget coronavirus there's a bomb threat there's a credible bomb threat that was called in to authorities are you still eat you you think you're gonna be allowed into the church now you're not going to that into the church because the public there's public risk so you know person after person here just saying how I don't care about rights whatsoever you know how stupid I am blah blah blah whatever at the end and we have a poll question at the end of all of that and it started out about sixty something to thirty something saying no we should not be immediately re opening all of these things but now it is flipped over since we started talking about it earlier in the show a lot of outrage people are are now voting yes of the majority is now saying yes everything should just be open back up that's what I want to ask we all want we all want things to go back to normal should it happen right now should it literally happened right now should stay at home orders and all of these closures should they be immediately left one eight hundred two eight three one a one point five the numbers don't go down yet we don't have to wait until the numbers are going down we keep everybody wants everybody wants everything to be open I'm just like everybody else but man what kind of havoc with that reek if we decided just open everything up and relax all the rules all at once see this is my thing and I've said this several other times if people want everything re open immediately and if they are willing to accept a certain much higher body count at least they're being honest about the situation and we could all have a different idea of what that acceptable number of dead is to restart the economy you know god you and I talked about this weeks and weeks ago how you know that there were board rooms with business leaders and policymakers sitting around talking about that very creepy thing that nobody would ever want to really talk about is what's an acceptable number of dead but if you're going to if you're going to demand that the stay at home orders be immediately lifted and that all the closures be immediately lifted you have to have that same conversation of those board rooms had in there in in in in your own head you know what your stomach how much right for death M. and honestly folks I could appreciate it if people said even if five million Americans died and please don't yes I am overselling we got an email saying three million would be acceptable as we serve did not wreck the economy that they could put up with three million deaths so right right and at my point by but my point by saying five million is to make it outrageously high because even the numbers that were given to trump that led him to finally do the turnaround on this and get on board with closing up closing down even that was one to two million so I'm just being extreme for the purpose of making the point even if you were to say five million American deaths is is is still acceptable to just open up everything at least you're being honest about it and then I could totally respect that even though it's a sad and very depressing and creepy thought I would totally respect that the thing I can't respect is if people say just open it right back up because it's not it's not helping any way nothing would change and just just opened back up that's like well then now you're not really dealing with reality you know so I'm I'm I'm very curious where you would stand on this if it were if it were to be decided right now do we open up say tomorrow morning do do all the stay at home orders get lifted tomorrow morning all the close businesses can re open tomorrow even sporting events maybe could happen would you say yes to that yes or no should it happen one eight hundred two eight three one a one point five yeah I would definitely be in the know category until until the numbers start at least are going down even then you just go you run the risk of just bring it right back up if you open things too early so I don't know it's everybody's pulled together and bite the bullet for a little while longer you know there's there's an old friend and we used to have a funny name for me actually used to appear on our show and our show was in Detroit for all those years in the member supersize supervise got you yep supersized Scott Scott great guy the couple a beautiful daughters is married now and he he's making something of himself he went back to school he just became a male nurse good for him and it was not easy nursing school for those who think it is it is not easy and and and he made it through he just graduated literally couple days ago and he is I love this guy he is a huge trump supporter mmhm huge trump supporter huge Republican and even he was incredibly pissed off at the Lansing protests here because he's now in that world he knows what it's like for these front liners in hospitals and he was saying how you're basically going to get more people killed by doing this and I just thought that's an interesting take coming from a guy who you know is is is what he is so anyway what what would your vote be should stay at home orders and all the closures be listed right now one eight hundred two eight three one one point five for eighteen in Jersey fast traffic so pretty rough ride along route nine going south and south Amboy coming down between victory circle in Raritan straight it's merges the repairs that's going on in the right lane this report is sponsored by compassion international those also well it was an accident I'm in Allentown on nights out to Taylor's mills road that's been moved out of the way farther down on nine some slowdowns in Lakewood at the beach what area to route one in Edison still a little bit slow parkway is looking kind of stuffed up there in that stretch between one forty and one thirty eight kind of sum by continuing our construction work and maybe a crash were looking into that the traffic across the Delaware some road work and leaving New Jersey in the right lane Hudson River crossings everything looks to be in pretty decent shape you can change the world for child extreme poverty through compassion international just text child two eight three three nine three to find out how traffic every "Big bill Doyle or more like a game show host yeah this is a man you wouldn't understand it's a Jersey thing the most frightening thing happened while Joe cutters doing the news and maybe some they'll be able to talk about it I'm not talk about it right now did you make that happen they just commandeer the studio while I was down all about for Joe S. because as put my headphones on and so did you avoid eye contact I saw Joe dance yes I don't know why but Joe which Rubel wanted build you know in a like a Q. channel not on the air to be blasting take a chance on the bike but while he danced all over the studio and he started stripping I'm a just a little disturbing the whole thing okay part I didn't notice but my headphones on my head down you have a co came off than the shirt came off the only thing remaining was the teacher who okay in this album by the way yes it's ABA I guess abba abba are but I think what people say I'll probably it's up I think it's what so I set up an amber well you says it really matters mamba yeah that would be easier to ABA yeah it's not that he was stripped teasing the Abu weird part is how I found the seats this is a great song hello and we once but I like I would I would pay to see aba Inkatha again move at all so we've got Jovian here we've got Kylie am in here and we're if we're not gonna talk about music anyway I saw something on Facebook and the way it was done on Facebook man way too many court categories to do on there but I thought this was really cool it was one of these things where it's going around where they're just asking you what was your first concert last concert best concert worst concert loudest concert scene the most the most surprising and goes on and on like that right and if you know your film out you you share and other people are doing and I just thought that was kind of cool and so I just pick three categories and the ones I picked I want to ask you guys the same I hope it's not OB as you said the worst concert is jovial troop is singing out I was just dance there was nothing the first concert the best concert you ever saw and then your wish concert though the concert the act that you wish you could have seen okay so what might be for you so my first concert was in synch at Giants Stadium that's right that's right and and BB mak open for them the other boy band BB mac PC mac yeah they never went anywhere Malaga's I don't remember them at all in that you're a member in a really good it cheesy ninety song called the ghost of you and me huh yeah okay anyway okay the best concert was two thousand ten at the Fillmore New York City it was the gaslight anthem album release show for their album American slang and that was like the closest I ever came to like an out of body experience at a concert why it's what does that mean even about something about the people that I was with yeah V. atmosphere in the room because it was like a smaller venue for like a band that was already commanding a bigger crowd raise a special event like the play the whole album front to back yeah before you came now yeah and for some reason it just like I just felt myself like leave my body and what would you go on your anybody about like I leave the concert but like I just fell floating on top like I was floating in I wasn't even like smoking weed are you just said or is it are you just doing fancy talk for I was really happy that night now you can just say I was really happy no no because I I've had that feeling again other concerts right at home what what are yeah how high were you know hi we want help possibly be about you felt like you left your body described physically what that felt like I felt light headed at first and then I felt very relaxed right at ease that I was there a Honda and I got totally not me I'm never ID's you know well but that's not leaving your body I felt like a body like I felt like I was above my body watching the show but where was your vision was coming out of your eye balls yeah re seeing the top of your head seeing the stage we're looking down from the ceiling no just above me like I was above my physical entity like you're sitting on your own shoulders yeah are you yes yes will you know I had a very simple stupid question here just for fun and then you try to turn this into some sort of paranormal not always an easy night is best customers never leave your body I know I didn't but it felt like I did and it was a great night and now I'm being robbed of it because and because of that I wish that I was at I wish that I could have seen the clash but we can make you know what I'm just side systems is laughing at you never you never had the feeling like a Bruce concert that I'm literally leaving my body or just very happy again if you're just doing fancy talk for really happy and mellow more than happy it was more than very happy it was so spiritual that you really felt like you had an out of body no I have never happened can you just let him have this yeah it's just dumb so it is really it didn't go anywhere I'm not so I'm not claiming that it did.

"Bill Doyle or more like a game show host yeah you wouldn't understand it's a joke Hey by the way if you love to either a mac and cheese or mass murderers bill has stuff right up your alley check it out on the D. the page are you big mac and cheese fan all men well I mean I don't even like once a week or anything that isn't millennial thing great seems like everything's back and she's now really yeah this mac and cheese restaurants open up we have a last week the week you know that's what it is to the right the reason I wrote about it is to separate mac and cheese festivals in New Jersey one this weekend ones tickets went on sale today at four one in March it's like mac and cheese is taking over the world yeah I'm large enough I don't hold that carbs is all carbs man I mean it's good yeah I don't like salivate daydreaming about it or anything yeah maybe it's an age thing hello given the millennials schedule member that time millennial Jovi in there but he was swearing that sushi was a brand new thing yes like I still don't get that I still don't know what I mean this goes back like I think five years ago and and and he swore that sushi hell would become popular in like the last three or four years he had just re he had just discovered like ten years ago there were already yeah it was new to them I thought it was new to everybody I don't go anywhere phone numbers one eight hundred two eight three one oh one point five I am using a rental car right now as a going always find them in your car but well it's so it's going okay okay I'm still waiting to hear back and everything but there's like been a number of issues have been a number of problems with that haven't had they diagnosed the actual like main problem but I you know what I've got like a long list and I don't even like have in front of the house there was like the religion the justice transmission what's that is more than just the transmission as you thought it was it's not gonna be as bad as I thought it was okay with it because it's not okay never mind yeah yeah yeah exactly does that as bad as I thought it was but there's like a housing the cracked the rigors that sees but a it was the transmission is in it it's like a complicated thing but as far as as far as the rental car as soon as a sort of driving a rental car I noticed something and I couldn't figure out what it was doing I actually had to look up in the owners manual because I'm driving and all of a sudden hearing like and then a little flash thing goes and the flashing thing is a little like I kind of a car with lines on either side of it and then arrows pointing inward now I never drove a car with any kind of special assists I had no idea what it was like this is it was Elena's sister but I had no idea what the hell it was at first because I never drove a car like this right I haven't had a rental car in quite awhile so and then I also notice when I would hit forty miles an hour then that same thing woods that that single icon will turn green right so the first stop I had I was like I hope there's an owner's manual on this because this is driving me freaking crazy I got to know what this is right so I pull it out and sure enough that that's what it was it was like this lane assist thank and in the kind of car it is by the way it's a a Hyundai the Konno I think that's what I'll take your word on that it's like it's like a small size SUV okay is what this is so I'm driving along and and if you know and I started playing with us like once I read in the manual what it was all about I was like okay this says it'll pick up the road sensors but don't trust it too much it was almost like admitting in the owners manual the way it was written like this might not work we did our best it really might not work make sure you don't over rely on it keep your damn hands on the wheel you idiot that's what it felt like right so sure enough though I would I would ease up my hands like just gently and I would like let the car just slightly drifted was like slightly go towards the center and was slightly get towards like that you know dotted line or whatever and then you would feel the steering wheel takeover yeah my car does that all it was cool it was weird I never drove a car with one of these features now I realize they're probably people laughing at me right now my car is five years old and doesn't have that it's just the first time I've experience that I realized cars do far more than that those kind of alarming kind of disconcerting the first few times but but it is good at making use your blinker because doesn't do that if you use your blinker I feel like a change unless you're trying to change lanes without your blinker it's gonna fight yeah it's quite you a little bit now I'm a cone at least this one I noticed it fight you but very gently it lets you it lets you take over very easily but if you just really ease up on it it will just like slightly adjusted keep you in those lines but then it knows that you're doing that it knows that you're not quite touching the steering wheel it almost knows that might like your testing it so then this thing starts flashing on the dashboard keep hands on wheels I don't have them keep hands on we'll take our doesn't schooled me yeah yeah doesn't say it out loud but like the words are flashing you know and so drive along and if that meant this is the first little taste that I have had of all the technology that is leading more and more to the eventual self driving car so there's nothing in the news there's nothing new about that it's just that it's the first touch of it that I've had and it made me really want to talk about this because I know that a lot of people in a lot of you really reject the idea of a self driving car and I have noticed just from people calling in it doesn't seem like it's an age thing it doesn't seem like it's older people rejected younger people embrace it I have heard I think just as many people in their twenties that would say they would be freaked out by it and plenty you dudes that are in their sixties say yeah bring it on I'm sick a drive so as as disorienting as it fell it made me think the only reason I don't like the feel of it is because it's not completely taken over like my take away was if you're gonna do this take over completely I'll sit back I'll be fine if you just do the job as it was it was kind of like well my drive and are you driving who the hell driving get your hand off my wheel that's kind of how I was so I don't like that in between measure to me it's like I want all or nothing and I would take the all I would take the full self driving car obviously I don't really want to put on the crash tests suit and be the first one in it I would like it to be somewhat proven but I would definitely buy a self driving car when they are available and are somewhat proven so we want to know where is your head set where is your mind set out a suspect on a self driving car one eight hundred two eight three one a one point five are you leery of them or would you accept them they say that the five G. roll out this year in the next couple years can make it much more doable much more supportable for all these cars talking to each other and and avoiding the crashes and things so I don't know maybe the pace hotel know what if you read about that I've read nothing as far as like cars talk to each other and like what what is going to be going on with that what aid still don't think it's going to be like right around the corner right but the better grade informational grid internet grid and will not really internet but the five G. wireless standard it candle so much more data that's the thing that could make that grid possible yes sickly yeah exactly gotcha so who who can see and that's what I feel like it's gonna need I feel like those in between years where they're going to try to put self driving cars on the road intermingled with human driven cars that to me is going to be the biggest problem if there's like a decade of that always gonna be like each other fighting for supremacy because you know the the self driving cars going to overreact to everything the human is gonna drive like a human and I think it's gonna be hard to have both of them share in the road once you can have agreed to have all course talk to each other I think it's got did the automatic law you have to have a self driving car then everything is going to be much more smooth according to USA today the level five autonomy which is like full don't have to do anything it probably will be widely available eve even for another ten years ago so chateau gonna say there's you know there's going to be a transition period a little like we're talking sure so sure no even if it's twenty years ago I mean now being older guy I'll be ready to stop.

"D. I would be Jeff Kaminski and I am a big bill Doyle and it'll be game coming up tonight remember playing. does not really you. don't think that's the actual title. the this long. we shorten the sometime I was not here for this but I have a vested interest in this because my son does the same thing that you found out that our friend Kylie more does and he can never really give me great explanation why so I turn it over to you bill so I'm talking to Connie Moore in the office and we also discussed we watched on television the night before and I was telling her I watch flea bag they got all those Emmys was it was kind of hard to follow sometimes because of the thick British accent so I had to rewind and she's the one you just turn on the caption I was well I don't really do that with English programs to you and she said yes as a like what you said succession some English program is an American program an H. B. O. there's no accent involved and I find out she does this regularly that she does this routinely she reads shows instead of watching my son does the same thing he's he's a kid he's fourteen but I'm wondering if this is becoming some thing for some odd reason and while she's here we could ask her. may I introduce can I lay waiting for my introduction why do you do it. my son can't tell that's it see that's what I get for my son one what this guy the reason why would you read when you can just watch their faces and you can't do both you can't see their face and look at the words at the same time yeah so you do you read real quick then you look back up the fate is fine we don't suppose we look at the face the whole time which can Mr gesture one of theirs and subtle nuances of acting exactly that's part of it that's part of the the thespian game now acting fan are you telling me you never look away from the screen when you're watching something if it's good no a laptop you don't you're not word riveting I mean if it's a riveting. your white wall. you're watching something. and then the like you look down and do something else on your phone and then go back to it that's not watching your show that's totally split attention you pause stop every time you're watching it to like go to look at your phone like my phone my laptop open and then be watching the Gilmore girls. your watching anything. we focusing on multi tasking and multi tasking millennials on her or her. good at it you know if you're you wouldn't need the cat sitting on our. okay way you get caught up on not gonna pay attention I'll just read it it's getting now I know all right and realize you doing all this other crap too so hold on. so the main reason you're doing. is is because you're not really paying attention or because you're not you're. I mean can you hear okay you're hearing is fine I hear fine but I do it so that I don't have to pull the Doyle and rewind to find out what to do at every show was just with a heavily accented global but but we've been a Kylie if you're looking down for several moments at your phone and then back up what do you have to also then go back in and read the the the dialogue because I can hear it. here again why do you need the closed captioning them just because no no no no no no. this normally answer generously I just do but it doesn't make it it doesn't gel it doesn't make sense with the other reason I mean you said because you're looking away but if you're hearing it anyway I'm not saying I need it because I'm looking away I just you can read the dialogue and also the look way answers just because no that's not a that's not a good answer it's not an end is this the first one look this doesn't even amount to a first world problem but I do think it's quirky that my son does the same thing and Joe was defending or Joe vague right he says he doesn't do it but he says he understands it which I can understand what he understands why what are you guys met out there. respect is throwing his arms up in the air as if we're the ladies and gentlemen. true okay how are we the idiots but we get to can't grasp idiots. it's just that you were not grasping the fact that sometimes it's just nice to be able to know everything that's being said even though show maybe America saying that she can hear she says it's not that the hearing issue well sometimes though you know the dialogue is a little lower. things like that I get you yeah there's only there is one show and one show only that I have used them for which ones that okay do you know how certain shows our how to explain this certain shows are more movie like in that the levels are up here and then suddenly down here when somebody's mumbling it up absolutely where as on a lot of old sitcoms all the levels would be the same like let's say on Cosby Cosby stalking it's at the same level his wife is talking it's at the same level right bill drops to the bottom of the glass it's at the same level right. but but others a show called Ozark. and very good show very good show and and I I stop following you but is very good show one of the reasons I stopped following it their sound was always like that and they had one character who was the poppy field guy he was the error right right the hillbilly guy or had him with a rough were actually is you have grown into our we have here already years yet what's the low levels I couldn't understand anything yet but other than that that's not why she's doing it she can hear everything but also the having this subtitles on the lower third of the screen doesn't affect my watching of the. unless you're too I can can focus on two things independently you can't watch both on the same time you forget I have younger quick arise no no matter of use. well I don't think it is I don't I know that you're probably right that yeah it's two different things you're either watching the dialogue but I am listening for the dialogue but going to the subtitles for when I have like a little hesitation as to what's going on do you do you do that for baseball games no one up because I don't even think that we should have an answer the baseball games I'm just hear the crowd noise I need to hear games will be so boring without announcer I'm sorry Debbie we're they tried that didn't go well yeah yeah yeah well so what you see what some of you know you saw do do you know anybody else who does what Kylie does yeah yes you look at them and say they don't have a hearing problem no hearing problems yeah the hell is going on in the world I think I think it's is a younger person thing. is this like for some reason I think it's a Netflix thing I think is a lack of being able to focus flex thing because Netflix makes it very easy to turn them on and off and it wasn't until Netflix became as popular as it was as it is now the default on Netflix throughout automatically only got to do is just press two buttons and you there I think it's all we have to do anyways yes I got news for you my family's been doing this for movies for decades. well it is an inherited trait I guess your parents have the closed captioning on too of course you can't miss of course like that's normal I don't think it's not normal. and why they were bringing it up we know it's silly I understand it doesn't really matter but it is driving bill in me crazy because we don't think this is normal it's fine what are you so upset never seen build this was yesterday because it's ridiculous. why do you want to read I we like watching foreign movies because if if they have subtitles how to watch the actors I want to know what's going on yeah I wanna read I agree I mean I like reading one is a book not wanted to movie no one is a television show I don't enjoy the performances it's not that difficult snow flake it is not. it's not the way it was intended to get so you're trying to watch the game but then you've got this other part of the screen with the OJ chase going on it's distracting one is just one sign the movies than when they have the big placards with with their dialogue on that because then you wouldn't have to split your attention at all that's that's where you should be going right there I do not discriminate against art maybe I will you do discriminate against our because you're not enjoying it the way the artist intended what do you mean. do you watch SNL what now why because. just you have no answer for any of this I never said I would. all right. it helps explain this is this actually becoming a thing and I'm going to text my son I'm gonna try one last time probably in vain to get out of him why the hell he does this again he's younger is fourteen but like twenty something maybe thirty something is this like a millennial thing I think my point which is talk about having all her attention divided my son will have like a hockey game on his laptop it'll have Netflix on one option then I'll have this video game on the TV on our hearts yeah that that. okay. we'll get a few lawns now they either sound really dumber we sound really old. I don't think it should be but we'll find out all right why would anybody watch TV with captions on if you don't have a hearing problem is this becoming some thing one eight hundred two eight three one one point five here's New Jersey fast traffic.

"Big Bill Doyle, Bill, I want to send your bacon article to Jim again got everything in here. You even got some of the history of bacon. Like how long Chinese have been eating vacant forgotten once you start writing about bacon. It's hard to stop. That's what Jim again would say. Yeah, I had no idea about this. But Wildwood is launching what they hope to be this. I'm assuming annual bacon lovers festival. Yes, they're having they're calling it their inaugural downtown Wildwood inaugural bacon lovers festival, and it's a three day festival, it is just two or on the side of accuracy. I saw other references to bacon festivals before there in Wildwood. But it kind of seemed like they might have been, but the official Wildwood website calls it their inaugural. Yeah. So I'm going with that, it's like how much bacon could you really turn into a festival? I wanna I wanna be in the Sunday bacon. Eating contest. They're doing that. They're oh my God. I have a little bit of everything going on here. So going to check that out and bacon play some cornhole. And you know you would think how do you make? Festival out of that. But didn't Trenton do this with pork roll, and did they have competing festival? That's right. Are, are they still doing those? I don't know. I know one like a splinter group broke off from the main group to have their competing pork roll festival. So at least once they had two of them and one of those festivals. Remember, they were even having a beauty contest with or quiz pork roll. Yeah. Boy, there's one for the there's one for the resume I was miss pork roll. You gotta start somewhere. You have. You have to. You hope to work, your way up and then leave that one off the resume later on. I goes, also I have a photo of this, and the full explanation. But all I will say is this week, I was in a building a multi-storey building an office building. And there was an elevator in this building. And this elevator I was so offended Bill. This elevator is apparently anti transgender apparently only six males and females are allowed in this elevator. And the picture is right there to prove it over the door. I'm supposed to Russia and look at it darn tooting. Yep. And you know, it's like if it's only males and females it can ride the elevator. I can well, what about the fluid genders you know, like how they can change a dime like you wake up in the morning and Email, but by evening, you know, you're female, what if you change genders halfway up.
