We were watching it together and then things happen. You know life school than things as it does so So how'd you get hooked on fantasy and science fiction. Yeah so i've always been somebody. That just really enjoyed a lot of fantastical stories stories with that element growing up in the eighties. I was a star wars kid. Obviously i would watch the gi joe and transform cartoons growing up and superheroes. I mean man saturday mornings. I lived for super friends. Batman and superman and all that I would wake up way too early. They'd have this something that kids don't know about now called the You know the test green that were running programming night and so you'd have to wait for programming to start. That was me. I'd wake up super early. Didn't miss my super friends. I've always enjoyed that kind of stuff. And when i went to college. You know you're busy with kind with studying and get married starting a career. And then i Discontinued to enjoy those movies stories. And i got into Star wars roleplaying game called nights at the old republic Came out in the mid two thousands and they had a great fan community online. And i people writing something called fan fiction and a mike. What is this. And so they tell stories in the video game universe and the star wars universe using characters and they'd write these stories. And i'm like well. I used to write some stories so i'd like to try my hand at that and that's kind of what got me.

"Back in interesting. A really so I just don't have that. I don't have that that that connection to him. So i mean good for everybody who does. I'm not even about to sit here and act like you know there. There is some stuff about people making fun of people crying about crying when they saw him punk like. Let's not do that like when we come on the show every weekend. Say you know wrestling is for everybody and split. Some things aren't for everybody and the the punk return might not you know scr. Scratch me right now but you just never know in the future. But i just don't have stop the style you're tied to him so i'm gonna be looking at what he does from now on and not really looking about what you know from from the past and i love that there are people excited about wrestling like you said. This is good for business. This is bringing in people that he is a draw. You know he. He moved the move. That needle like instantaneously so this can only be good for the business and for the people who have been waiting years and years and years for him so i am going to say good on him for that and i'm not about to. Yuck anybody's young. And i feel like that's should be the responsible discourse that we're going we should have about this but that's the thing we know this fan. We know wrestling fans. We know a fans. Wwe fans it's not gonna be that respectful discord. You know what i'm saying. Like i'm just i'm just not ready. I just don't feel like going through the these wars again. Like i- legit felt like it was it was finally kind of dying down just like a tad bit from the initial initial notice of it. And now i'm like. Oh god stan wars come in again. And i just like just miss me with it because it's not is not for me the Going back and forth between companies. Let me give you this too. I think that what what what fans i hit say what wrestling fans do because like this often numbers but sometimes yeah get tied up in. Here's my product. Or here's my company. I'm going to defend it. Everything else sucks when in reality our be like i think as wrestling fans especially if you look at where the business was twenty years ago. Twenty five years ago during the monday night. Wars when shifted so much that we should just be thankful that we still have pro wrestling and on and like your anytime. There's something that's good for the business in the sense of like keeping it alive. And that's a w and wwe still continuing to do. Its thing which done sports entertainment but it still doing it and still good for rustling. I would say at the end of the day. Www didn't exist. If awa didn't exist we would essentially have nothing. No one would care. So i'm really thankful for that and what also say is that. Wwe was really horrible to punk on his way out. Which i have to come back to you in my head because a lot of the narrative is like punk is a complainer. He just gone on and on and complaining and he's not coming back and everyone wants him to come back and he's finding excuses in the ends want him in need but he's been doing his own thing and you know. I sent him his official released on his wedding day. Jay lee and who. I love i love her. I loved her book even crazy as my superpower is book where she talks a lot about mental health. Anything it's just great to sear being so vulnerable and sharing so much of her story. Maybe we'll get her back one day somewhere. Who knows that's up to her. But like i just. I think that i'm happy to see see same happiest. Ccm punk copy. And i don't know him personally. But i'm happy to see bill brooks happy as a human. Everyone deserves to be treated well and to have joy and and do their best and i think we do our best work when we're happiest so i hope that he'll be his happiest. They hope he'll do his best work or at least have fun and hopefully get some of the negativity out of the way by having this run where he can thrive and maybe we'll be able to put some the nastiness in the past. That's yeah the that is that is the the hope and what i said for positive to say about him. He literally shifted the wrestling landscape actually with his departure. I really do feel that. I mean with the not even just a departure but like the pipe bomb promo like. It still lives in.

Bill brooks bringing you another creative christian. Our next guest is an author speaker and radio show host with a fanatical obsession with the lord k dramas anime romance books. Old movies speculative fiction knitting and star trek. Please welcome to the podcast parker. j cole. low. Parker are you. Bill how are you doing. I'm great and i'm so excited to be here today. Awesome so. I can relate to the star trek fandom because i myself started reading the bible because i ran out of star trek novels where i was staying so the bible and i you have deep convictions about star trek as well. I definitely do even one. The character since star. Trek's name was gideon and so yeah i see the correlation between there. But i'm definitely am a star trek fan. I'm an original series official seattle. And what. I love about star. Trek is the fact that takes us to go boldly where we haven't gone before so it really helps to probe the imagination especially when it comes to going on voyages and right now you can see that correlation with the private space race. That's happening right now by amazon's jeff bezos with his new venture elon. Musk a some of the countries getting together. Although satellites went to mars last last year they're all landed. All these things really titillate my excitement about space in. I know i'll never go. I have no interest in leaving earth but should our children go. Should they enjoy to pro the deaths. God's creativity enough. His majesty i bid them do godspeed in everything so star. Trek really speaks to me as a author as a writer as a creative but really as a christian now. Do i have definite opinions about where the brand is going. I definitely do. I won't watch some of the incarnations. Because i don't think they are cannon and so in order to protect my mind from my star trek purity. I don't want so. I've learned recently. The jeff bezos is a huge star trek fan. Everything he says to his staff does make it so yes as all head. He made alexa to be like speaking computer. Just like dislike the enterprise computer. So yeah you're right it's coming..

"It was Ray romano coming in a must-win park and they'll make bill brooks christie spike in balls left at scene that was. That was the hardest. I've ever had the watch anything. I can't believe what i was watching there. I i still can't believe that happened. That's okay so yes you can blame boon for putting those players shouldn't be in those positions in those positions but it's also the players who should never allow those positions to happen right. The top of the rosser that need to play better right. His team is actually going to do anything. This year So but like. I said i mean i'm happy. I mean i'm not happy. I wish the team had a tag game division lead but where they could have been where they are over. The last two weeks is night and day. They still have a long ways to go. I mean they have to do well against seattle here. They they have to win five out of these seven games against seattle in kansas city. And then go to chicago in not swept. That's the goal here for the next ten days But continue to be on the bad teams what they have to do when they've put themselves in this position where they have to do that. There's there's no more fucking now there's no more owed tip your hat to this guy who has a fifteen already but you shut the yankees down for four innings the anymore lopez. Builder that basically that. That's exactly what happened boone. Said he he if you if you heard him speak after the game you would have thought that it was nineteen ninety-six greg maddux. They say so. That's dot can't believe you still listen to all the press conferences i do. It's it's the funniest it's it's the best. Tv show every night. Like when there's the thing i'm like. Oh my god three outs than i. You know i get. I get close up the house ready for bed. Get in bed put on that in. It's like ten minutes of just the funniest stuff you'll ever hear it's unbelievable. They need the to put themselves in a position when they go to oakland for four games at the end of the month. That split is totally fine. Yeah that's what i have before we go. I'll run through kansas city in seattle. I lumped together to win five at seven there. That's not unreasonable. Baltimore six games last at lost. The other night hurts but they have to win. Five at six The white sox. You just can't get swept you can't happen angels. Four games left as have that. Make up one game at home. When three out of four. The boston in tampa series are keeping. You have to win but all thriller series. You have to go forward to against boston to one against tampa. That's probably the hardest thing they have to do. Oakland you can go to into toronto lauren. Three cleveland to one nets to unwind. I mean they have to win all the series pretty much except for one if they want to get to ninety six in the window division and then the twins braves rangers nine games there. They have to win six or seven of those it. it's doable. it's not outrageous. It's just the put themselves like. I said in a position where you cannot have one one bad day or it's it's off. If that happens that would be a pretty stunning turnaround for a team. That's been wildly inconsistent to this point in the season so it all happened. I think it ends up being like a six eighty. Five win percentage since the all-star break which is the yankee teams have done things like that they've gone on runs like that but it's a good with this with no all his idea. Yankee started off vertically if you think back to what was it two thousand eighteen when the team won like eighteen nineteen like crazy shit like that. They need something like like right here with this thirteen game. Stretch like they went through against miami. They went to three gets baltimore now. Seattle now kansas city if they go like eleven to hear that does wonders for this pace and they can even screw up a couple more times down the stretch. But it's tough but it can happen. Hey i needed to happen. They if this team gets wildcard spot. It's like gets a second wildcard spot lose burnt coal and then he can't fish the game three or four. It was a waste of the season anyway but if the team is playing better at the end of the year and actually wins the wildcard game and then can is playing well into the first first round of the playoffs that i don't know we'll forget about it if they win. But you're right. If they lose because garrett cole had to pitch wildcard game then it's obviously. We're all going to be disappointed. All right. I know you got to wrap it up. Neal thanks so much for joining and everyone listening if something crazy happens tonight because we're recording before thursday's game. I'll be back on to talk about it all right. Thanks joey gallo with his signature. Yankee moment according to michael kay. He dropped the signature. Yankee moment with the three run home. Run in the seventh-inning to give the yankees the lead they held on dear life. They held on Chapman made interesting as he usually does. Wouldn't say he was hit hard by any means in the ninth inning He certainly maybe didn't have his control but Couple of weird fluky things and then the ball of the warning track at the end the yankees got the win. So obviously i'm recording after. I just do the podcast that you heard with. Neil thanks for coming on. He we had to cut it short a little bit so ended a little abruptly he He also just had a baby pretty recently. And i get to go. Go watch him so we had to wrap up fairly quickly but Again thanks for neo for coming on. Go check out his show kief to the city he does it Pretty regularly Covers all new york sports but Definitely yankees as well so they. They came back. they beat. they beat seattle a game as neilan our talking about these are the teams. You absolutely have to beat if the yankees are going to make the playoffs. I still think they're most realistic chance to. The playoffs is through the wildcard..

"That number would be in the fifty to sixty day range so Certainly inventories are tight. That's push inflation up on the new car prices And it's also affecting used car business because you know new car inventory drives used car inventory. And so you've seen this crazy inversion of used car. Prices being really really high wholesale prices at some point in time during the summer we were paying more For for a car then we could. We could sell a new car for So it's it's created all kinds of crazy pricing but that's going to alleviate the chips shortages is. You know i wouldn't say coming to an end but certainly getting better And so between now and the year inventory levels come back on new and pre-owned inventories will come back. And so we're looking for a great second half of the year all right. Hey before we start. Just give bruton and bill brooks my best regards. I worked with those guys. When taken that speedway motorsports public way back in the day so Good times those guys. I'll be happy to do that. Two fantastic guys yup. Jeff talked to us. You know so. Is you know how to best use the gifts that got us given me and i went through this process where i kinda discovered that writing for me was something that was easy relatively easy for me but that also That i was good at. And i haven't really explored that very much As a child or you know not even you know. Non high school or even in college related. I didn't really think about it. "This the first time ever a team is not turned it over and had more than 450 yards of offense. And not one. So, uh, still some things to think well about for the season. 11 wins getting into the postseason questions for the quarterback position, key free agents and more will be discussed. In the months to come. The L. A Rams won at Seattle 30 to 20 Jared Goff ended up playing most of that game. I was really interested to see John Wall forget another chance to play. Remember? Will Wolford, the Colts left tackle and cold broadcaster for many years that I got to know very well, That's actually I think it's Zwilling nephew. He's Will's nephew. I remember well, telling me about him when he was in high school. When we're working together, so I was hoping for more, but he had a neck injury very early in the game, and last I saw that he was taken to the hospital here. I see. He was out of the hospital and celebrate with the Rams, but he was unable to finish Jared Goff, fresh off a broken thumb. Finished the game and looked a little wobbly with his throws at times, but certainly good enough. They had a pick six on Russell Wilson. They win Tampa Bay just one over watching 31 23. I looked it up Taylor Hi, Nikki was working on his graduate to bring an engineer thing at Old Dominion. When he got called by Washington a few weeks ago. He's been out of college since 2014. Wasn't his first start, but he played pretty well and battled Tom Brady in this one tonight in the Buccaneers win a playoff game for the first time since 2002. So what? Jon Gruden was the coach. Then at that point, So here's what's on tap tomorrow, three more games, starting at 105 again with Baltimore and Tennessee. I think that should be entertaining Chicago and New Orleans. You'd never know Is this Drew Brees last game? Reports are that he signed With where I work at NBC. My kisses there will be a bigger splash when he joins NBC officially that my signing was heralded but New Orleans and the Bears tomorrow at 4, 40, Cleveland and Pittsburgh tomorrow night at 8 15. So ABC ESPN has the early game, CBS as the mid day game, and then NBC and Peacock. They're streaming channel for those of you that Don't have television. If you want to get the peacock, you could watch that game there tomorrow night as well. I You plays Nebraska tomorrow night as well. I think six o'clock is the tip for that game.
