"Propaganda that the DNC throws out there we would all be much but we would be much more cohesive as the country we'd all be on the same page. Because we'd all be going in the same direction in this country. So it's because of you free thinkers. You're the problem. You know, it's funny is like I kind of agree with him on the latter half of his statement that that it's the news media that's responsible for creating this much division, but not in the way that he intends. What he's suggesting to you is that the New York Times is unimpeachable at CNN is unimpeachable. And that, of course, is poppycock, especially given that these outlets have been chiefly responsible for advancing dominant and paralyzed in conspiracy theories surrounding the Trump present. You see for the last four years, not based in fact, but instead based on wish, casting that Donald Trump would be defeated and be considered illegitimate by virtue of facts that didn't exist right so for him to come along, Billy Boy, This is really divisive that there's a dissenting opinion from the company line. Of course, there's a dissenting opinion because some Americans have their eyes open and they're saying Wait a second. What's really going on here? Because the media either consistently cries wolf about Trump the threat or straight up lies about him and they're sick of it. That's why I trust the media is as low as it is, And so Obama's wrong about that and also one of those things. At the top of that cliff. He talked about how the big sort and how we're all being divided up based on race and religion. All these things has he noticed the 2020 election. What actually occurred. We're not sorting based on those categories. Identity politics. Oh, no, baby, we're starting based on class. We're starting based on whether or not you're like a normal guy who earns money by virtue of your labor or whether or not you make it by the finance economy. And that's a big deal. A lot of minorities supporting Republicans this cycle for a reason. Now, I just just very quickly here. Um, First of all, my friend Maria just text me and said, Oh, my gosh. I cannot listen to any more Obama so she wants us to stop playing Obama. But one more for you, Maria talking his perception of Joe Biden and Connell Harris. I am thrilled that Joe and Kamila have one. I believe that they will restore a bunch of norms, respect for science, respect for fax. Respect for rule of law that I think have been breached over the last four years. Why start now? Some of the bigger challenges and bringing the country together. That's gonna be a project that goes beyond just one election. So he's talking about bringing the country together. But he basically just trashed everyone who voted for Donald Trump, which is what over 70 Million people voted for Donald Trump. And and so he's sitting there saying, Yeah, but because of you, you that guy that you brought back was science denier. If you don't believe in fax all of these, you know, religion, all these other things like he basically just gave everyone who supported Donald Trump the finger and says It's your fault that we can't become together. We open the show talking about the embassy and what they did will get back to that coming up here in a little bit, because I think that so many people want the good old days I keep asking were the good old days Really? The good old days the way that you discuss a but Question got asked to me earlier this week because last week during the show, Earl Thomas got let go of by the Baltimore Ravens or was getting ready to be let go by the Baltimore Ravens. And people started wringing their hands and rub them together like Birdman and thinking that they could go out. They could get a nice Earl Thomas and that he would be able to help out and I said, Hold on for a second here. You got a guy who was let go by a team that intends to win a Super Bowl this year before that, they let him walk from a team that's intending to win a Super Bowl. Every single year. You've got to top and football teams. In Seattle in Baltimore at No problem in letting Earl Thomas walk. You want to take that risk? And immediately I thought of the mistake that ended up being one of the best moments I've ever had on this network last year about Antonio Solidarity watching these players who are battling to win the Stanley Cup, come together and stand in a press conference and show the fact that they are all listening and working on getting on the same page together. It was impressive, and it was good to see them all band together. And now the game's resume three games today. This is the first of three. What about the impact of this pause and how it will affect The way the game the games are played. Well, I think it can inspire the players. The fact that they're having a voice the fact that they are rallying around Ah, smaller group of players that they feel That they need to band together with and I think it's ah A way for everyone to become inspired into being better and doing better And, you know, hopefully the energy and the positivity that has come out of all the meetings and the conversation's over the past couple of days. Sam will translate to a product on the ice that we will get back to that playoff style of hockey with that extra boost. Of you. No encouragement and solidarity and positivity. Now you've got the reality of hockey. And that is this. Siri's his two games to one. The Tampa Bay Lightning, having won back to back games over the Bruins have to the Bruins won Game one and the Lightning a decisive Came three victory by 7 to 1 in Game three. What are your thoughts about how this game unfolds? Yeah, Bruce Cassidy, the coach of the Boston Bruins, said in his press conference this morning. We know where this series is, and we are now back to playing hockey and urgency. Sam. They need to be urgent with the puck and you'll look at these two teams. They're juggernaut, both of them. They can hurt you in so many ways, but the the word that you and I discussed A word that we know coaches they're using in the locker room, Sam. It's puck management. You laugh because it's It's such a big word and hockey and managing the puck from the top of the circles in one's own to the top of the circles in the other zone. You just can't give the other team those easy and those free looks. You've got to be thorough. You've got to manage it, and I believe that the team that does that Sam will be the team that wins today and ultimately wins this. Siri's Pressure on Jaroslav Halak in goal. He had a rough game in Game three. The rookie Danville aid Our backs him up. He got 28 minutes of NHL experience his first ever but the pressure on the Rool octo bounce back. Yeah, I think there is pressure, but I think the rest the other night getting pulled actually will help him, Sam. I expect him to be good again today. When we return John Stash our joins us with more of our pre game show and you'll hear from the Bruins and the Lightning in conjunction with NBC Sports. You're.

"Politics to go right to the top. So to the White House, we go and the Donald himself. Closer if it's Wednesday. It must be time for another democrat. Turning. How are you, sir? April fifteenth, which for most Americans is tax day at people like me is what we go refund. Well, so your taxes have long been a source of controversy can't speak. I'm under audit. Yeah. But the IRS says you can reveal whatever you want even if you were under audit. Of course, they can say that the IRS is soon as you do it. They throw you in jail. So you still have no plans to release your return? Maybe too much fun. Watching these liberal fools. Jeff their own heads. Bernie Sanders a member of the baby millionaires. You could do a Bernie. I get news for you. If you're any good, they give you ten million. And you have someone else rated. I had a huge bestseller. People told me it was pretty good. I would no I just looked at the picture President Clinton in the flesh. What are you doing there? I wanted to show support for my buddy DT. I got a question. What is it? Billy boy. See you got rid of your homeland security chief Curson Nielson don't tell you. Well, actually, I was hoping for her number. She smoking. I definitely want. Sir. Can we get back to the tax returns the returns, very clever? Mitchell front of the class with the blues. So Elizabeth Warren is also supposedly releasing her returns. And she says she's got a million. So I guess we don't know the Indians any reparation. I would not look at it that way, you're not meeting. Excuse me. A word in here. Bernie sanders. I'm releasing all my tax returns. They will show that I have one million thirty thousand dollars a million I made for my book and the thirty thousand I made over the last forty three years. I gotta admit that's pretty lousy even for a socialist. Money means nothing to me. Can tell that looking at you. Suit Taylor GI, Joe. Take all your money and give it to the poor President Trump yet. Let me think about that. No, MR president. Yes. Damage. Let me shift gears here. Let's talk about things at the border. We've heard it's a surge right now. And recently, you said to asylum seekers our country is quote, unquote, full. Do you stand by that? Yes. Completely totally. We're at critical mass guys just like Chris Christie get. Just like in the nineteen ninety eight Ford for Stephen at Jose in his twenty-seven relatives crammed into trying to sneak across no room for you. Or your Mexican cloud guy? Says the socialist. President Trump currently there's no secretary of DHS no deputy secretary, no head of secret service. No, head of FEMA. No head of ice. No inspector general and soon we'll be no Commissioner of customs and border protection. Do you have any plans to fill all these vacancies? Remember these government judgment. You. It's not like they do any work. Great people coming into replaced. Lou dobbs. Hannity protection commission if any legal climbed at well, Hannity, pick them up with a football. Tremendous really who knows I might even hired somebody less controversial replace my secretary of education, Betsy DeVos, maybe somebody like Lori Loughlin. Meaning minimizing an insulting. And you're boring, sir. We heard your secret service chief is leaving as well. Now. Did you really call him Dumbo behind his back because he has big years? That's just ridiculous. Why would I ducked behind his back? He's secret service. He supposed to have my with those as lemme tell you he had me he's going to be tough to replace. Because wherever we went we use those years as a wifi. Not one draft call around believe boy, picking on elephants. Have you know, shame, sir. You were allowed more fun. When you broke second. "That's the killer. So in today's show, we're sharing tips and strategies just how you can be more tax efficient in two thousand nineteen. And a few things that we've shared you can still do in two thousand eighteen if you haven't taken care of those things a couple little things, but there are very few. But there's a lot more that you can do to prepare now for twenty eighteen and before the break Damon, we were talking about how the foundation of most people's retirement income is taxable yet. So few really realize, of course, we're talking about social security. That's the foundation for most people's retirement, and it can be taxed it wasn't always this way for fifty years social security benefits for tax free. But then under president Ronald Reagan social security started to be taxed in nineteen Eighty-four up to fifty percent of your annual benefit could be taxed that amount was raised. He said that so lightly fifty percent half of it could be taxed. Yeah. Fifty percent. Well, that's glossed over that. Because it gets even worse. Okay. In nineteen Ninety-three under president William Clinton, Bill Clinton, Billy boy, he signed into law. Eighty five percent. Of your social security tax was eighty then he raised it was eighty-five. So and yeah the day when he was eighty and people said that Dennis Jackie, my, dear friend. He just said that Victoria. That's just not right. That's just I go will it is correct. And whether you like it, and he's telling I'll never forget we were at the Darul hills house. He ran he just retired moved Florida. But Darryl and a lovely wife. Linda, we're at their house at a party, and he listened to the show, and he was telling me how that was just not right? And I went, okay. I remember we were saying around their barber, porn drinks. Did this is just so flustered over it? And I said, well, okay. I said why not retire then you out of your call? And you tell me what you think it was eighty. So I'll never forget that conversation. And so it's been that way ever since since one thousand nine hundred eighty five percent of your benefit can be taxed, so what makes the difference between whether you're at the fifty percent rate door the not fifty percent rate but fifty percent or eighty five percent tax on it. It's all based on how much income you take or you're making while you take your social security benefits, the higher your adjusted gross income or your AGI the higher the odds that you're gonna fall into the eighty five percent category. So there are thresholds, and that would take we could do an entire show just on that. Here just understand that there are thresholds and there are different amounts. Whether you're a single tax filer or joint filer. So if you want to know those numbers, you can do two things you can give us a call three four eight oh nine oh nine, and we'll be happy to share that with you or you can come to one of my classes because I go over this very formula of how they tax your social security in my class surviving, thirty years of unemployment and disinheriting. Sam the point is if you want to lower the percentage of your social security that gets taxed it stands to reason you want to try to lower your adjusted gross income as low as possible. And there are some ways that you can do that. Right. Well, and we do this training class to about you know, where your bucket some money are are they in if if all your money one hundred percent are in government accounts. And that is the government makes the rules for you. You're in trouble because one hundred percent of that money coming out is going to be taxed that's why it's so important to have buckets of 4._0._1._K money rough money non-qualified money now back in the day when we would explain this and share this and do this training class with people diamond. It was the CPA's had everybody. They're all about the tax deferral. So all the money would go into a tax deferral account. That's the recommendation. Well, the problem with that is is that you forget it causes. You a horrendous problem on the MAC, and so you. Can't just look at the the front end. You've always got to look at the end result. In the end result is you're causing these people, and there's nothing we could do about it to reduce our taxes. If you created this problem for yourself. So it's just like anything else in life. You've got to have a balance in the balance means having money in a 4._0._1._K or a retirement fund having some non-qualified money and having as much as you can especially in Iraq. And you brought up a good point about Mike, Cathy, they position their investments to include lots of Roth money. So that when they take those assets is going to help with reducing the taxes because you wanna take. Now, we've talked about this on this show when we go in and take our continuing education, the brilliant people that are not in our industry. Tell us that we have to say that we tell our clients to take Rafa money last. Okay. We're going to tell you that is wrong. Even though I wanna get an ninety four on the test or ninety eight hundred. I'm gonna put what they want. But I will tell clients, and it makes total sense. Why you don't wanna take Roth money last? Now. It's ridiculous purpose to leave your kids a bunch of tax free money, leave your kiss sex money. Why your pain unnecessary taxes? Now, you can also do things like you can donate appreciated assets to your charity. You can also be careful about taking social security and working. We have so many of our clients set become consultants if you take money while you're working it's detrimental because it moose up here. Just gross income benefits can be penalized on an old for every year and take it away. Well, if if you're below your full retirement age, that's an that's a double whammy, that's a double whammy. Now, if you take the when you're working the other thing is if you were younger than full retirement age, you're gonna pay taxes and likely a penalty on all of the earnings test. There are so many little things, but to us is just everyday natural things to look at. But if you only do this once it's only for yourself, I can see an and I recognized why it's it's so challenging well. And there's so many questions out there about how a window. I claim my social security. What's the best strategy for claiming my social security, and you know on the surface? It looks like they're like maybe three or four or five choices. There are thousands of combinations. Literally thousands of combinations for how you take. Because there are there are benefits while you're still married and their benefits if you're divorced their benefits, if you're widowed their benefits, if you're under the age of sixty if you're over the age of sixty third benefits, if your child there are so many different options for claiming social security, and you really need to know. Right. Those options where you go back to it's not a rubber stamp. It's a customization. You must look at your situation. Like, you were helping to of our clients a week ago both have lost their spouses and their Dow considering marriage, but they're so smart because they're both retired. They both have children. They both have retirement accounts. When they sat down they wanted to. Okay. How how is this going to affect us? What do we need to be looking for again? Smart smart smart to ask the questions before before you go and do something that you cannot undo. That's another reason that in all of our clients financial organizers, we put in the front page of that organizers says big red letters stop. And that is and then we explain before you do anything. Call your financial advisor. We don't have to do this. You know, people say well, Victoria in when I'm out different groups and events with other professionals. They're always say, you do the I hear stories the things you do for your clients. And I said yes, and they go, but why you don't get paid for that urine. Investment adviser. You get paid on the investable assets. And I said yes that is correct. But guess what? My house my rules in. And when I established the company my rule was this. And it just made sense to me that I want me my advisors Mike team here to do exactly what I would want. If I was sitting across the desk from me, knowing what I know I want to provide in if we can do that to help people with everydollar to me dollars, a dollar. I've said it a thousand times I'll continue to say a dollar is a dollar. And if it's mine, it's mine, an Uncle Sam does not get the habit unless I wanna give it to see steam coming and everything on that. And in addition to social security. We also help our clients with Medicare planning to did that this past week with the with the Czech. Jan we've got some some Medicare issues that we're going to have to deal with and this is the kind of planning advanced planning and retirement issues that we discussed as part of our rocky retirement financial enrichment series you hers talk about that earlier. We do have some classes coming up to great time of year to take a class. It's early in the. Get educated on how retirement works you first opportunity March sixth route.
