"They have been really pedestrian for the most part in New England the last five years that received not not that I really care to see New England upgrade anything, but they might want to think about upgrading the quarterback room. You know what? I think they signed Cam right. It's sort of a back up sort of an insurance policy. But, you know, I'm guessing they are still actively interested in upgrading that position as well. Yeah, I would. They would, they would. It would be crazy not to be. They also signed former Titans tight end Johnny Smith, four year $50 million player. He's a great player and then Patriots also signed outside linebacker Matt Jew Don Four year $56 million deal. It was winning the raisins and then nose tackle Davon. Good. Oh, I believe two years $16 million deal. They've spent almost $200 million already and new contracts from free agency. I'd say Bill Bell checks tired of losing Welcome to the club One college basketball. Richard Pitino fired his head coach of Minnesota, looks like he's headed to the University of New Mexico. Archie Miller, also out Indiana. He doesn't have Ah, another deal quite as quickly as Pitino haven't seen anything yet with him. It is interesting know that Rick Pitino back in the tournament with Iona this year. So no Kentucky no Louisville, and then she a tournament. Rick Pitino back in it with Iona. Yeah, it has never been. There have been a lot of things said about Rick Pitino. Ah, lot of those have been unfavorable things and probably Justified, But nobody has been able to say the Rick Pitino is not a hell of a basketball, right? I mean, that's that's been pretty apparent over the years. 10 25 is our time. By the way, Tim Patrick and Alexander Johnson tendered care, too. Restricted free agent deals. So in other words, if if a team would offer either Patrick or Johnson a contract the Broncos have right to match the contract and if they don't they would receive in conversation. A second. Round draft choice for both guys. Does that 11 clarification I need Does that pic Come as a compensatory pick, Or is it from the team that signs the player do you know? I believe that is a compensatory pick. Believe we'll check on that when we come back 10 25.

"We have some callers will get to you in a second. If you want to try. It's a 55 to 12 for CBS 855 to 1242. 27 All right, so There's nothing more that I like as somebody that does this full time 20 hours a week and then does a show on the weekends. Talking about games can only get you so far. You need some other stuff, right? You need some some drama. Some soap opera type stuff. And I am envious of doing sports radio in Boston in particular this week because there is a straight up soap opera going on up there in New England and Tom Brady's in the Super Bowl Bill Bell checks in the Caribbean Moron bill in the Caribbean in a second. But so so, Bill has a has a girlfriend. Her name is Linda Holiday. She's pretty well known up there. It seems like you know, a nice lady. Everything I've ever heard is that she's a nice lady. She posted something last week. And she got trolled in the comments section. This was on Instagram. So she like literally just puts up this innocuous, innocuous message. It's a picture and it says I as I reflect on the past year. I wanna look it Look, it is a time of growth. Baba Baba Baba Baba! And then somebody comments. Too bad bill. Let Tom go. So she is like she has. I think she has like 56,000 followers on her instagram page, not because she's When the holiday because she's Bill Bella checks girlfriend, right? Which is fine, but so someone comes in. And if you're if you're in the public eye if you're an athlete, or if you're a celebrity, a movie person if you're like me, who does Ah daily sports radio show whatever it is. You're gonna have people that want to fight with you A troll you on Twitter, and the one thing you can't do is you can't you can't start fighting with people on Twitter, especially if you're Bill Belichick's girlfriend. It's one thing even for me. I don't When I look at my life when I look at my my mentioned, so it's I don't do all the time on Twitter. It's less it'll instagram, but like I I'm not fighting with somebody that's trying to pick a fight with me. I like discussions. I like good back and forth discussions, but it's like some of the chimes in too bad bill that Tom go. I mean, I'm just not gonna respond back to it. Right. So she responds back and says, And you have all the answers. Evidently, Tom didn't score last night. Not once defense won that game where you even watching. I'm happy for Tom's career. Why can't you be And this was after the Saints game, the Saints playoff win. So by the way, she was wrong because Tom Brady actually had three touchdowns in that game, and the defense actually did play very well. But but Tom had three touchdowns so but she was wrong in saying Tom didn't even score. Not once. S o. You had that? And then she followed it up with another another. Whatever. That she made a profile private, which she should do right? So now this week The Patriots this past year were bad. Their quarterback play was terrible. And the senior Bowl was going on this week, and especially during this time, the covert time. You're not gonna have a lot of a lot of opportunities to actually be with the players that are playing Was no combine this this year. I know they're limited in visits and things they can do like that in person. So this has been deemed the best chance to evaluate players talk to players. To see players live with your own eyes and they need a quarterback there. Mack Jones of Alabama was there. He was very impressive, and Bill wasn't there because he was in the Caribbean. And you may say won't listen. He's a coach. He's intended to go to the go to the Caribbean or is the Caribbean. What without, however, you pronounce it like Bill Bell takes only the coach of the Patriots. He's also the general manager. He's also the one that that is that he's you know, he's the final say. That's him. So, Yeah, maybe he is entitled to go on vacation after the season. But I know how I would feel if I was a Patriots fan and the team was bad this year, and you need new quarterbacks and you have no talent on offense. Right. They're not a good team, and he isn't at the Senior Bowl. Evaluating some of the talent I want Bill Bell check there. It's not just a bad look. It's bad for the organization. It's It's just It's bad. If you're a Patriot fan is not just a bad look. But here's the funny thing. How do we know he's in the Caribbean? Well, Bill's girlfriend has a dog. Named Nike. And in like a lot of people, not me. Connor Connor probably has a has his catalyst dog has an instagram account for it. What's the idea? Yeah. My dog has an instagram. Seriously? Yeah, I'm serious. My dog. Aubrey has their own instagram. Really? What is the instagram? I wanna make sure I follow it. I forget the name of it, but she has that She's got a lot of followers. She's more popular and instagram than I am. Well, that's a good thing. S O. So this dog has an instagram account, and it's at the swoosh dog. So people are looking at this because they know that it's Bill's dog and Bill's girlfriend's dog. And guess where the dog was. In the Caribbean, which means there's no doubt that bills in the Caribbean and Linda's in the Caribbean so immediately when this is discovered. Patriots fans start attacking the Instagram account of the dogs, and then she had to make that private to it. Maybe once a radio of radio show, start talking about it to his private within, like 30, minutes after that. So this is what you have right now, with the New England Patriots, which is just a soap opera. As Tom Brady gets ready in one week from today to go back to the Super Bowl, Bill Belichick is likely in the Caribbean. Not doing his job that he should have been, or could have been doing to make sure that his franchise has a quarterback or has better players going forward. So I thought that that was I thought that was a really bad look for Bill Bell check this week. All right, Let's take some phone calls. Let's go to Jack is in Ohio. Jack, you're on CBS Sports radio. How are you? I'm doing great. Specifically, I'm from Cleveland. I'm a Browns fan, So I don't have any skin in this trade whatsoever right? Other than the fact that Cleveland fans generally love. Every Detroit San when lines come into town, especially when the Tigers air in town they fill up the bars too short drive their great tippers..

Where will Tom Brady play in 2020?

"Asaka little Tom Brady. We did not speak about the report. Indian rappaport our guy has followed it up a few times that the Patriots are willing to pay Tom Brady thirty million dollars or more which which I think is very significant also reported by Ian. was that the chargers would show some interest in reported by. ESPN is that. Tom Brady made it to the free agent market that the raiders would be expected to show a ton of interest and all. That's fine but once I heard he and wrap Ian say the Patriots Patriots are willing to pay him thirty million dollars. I kind of was like that. That's a wrap like he's coming back to the Patriots defense. True not on purpose never made sense to me that this was for all of the prime of his career the last decade. He didn't care about money. He took pay cuts so the team could be stronger. You're all of a sudden at age. Forty three he's greedy and he only wants to be about money and you better pay me and Mike Giardi report makes a lot more sense to me that he cares much more about them. Upgrading grading the weapons around him breaking the bank on this contract. Yeah I'm with you this. I mean the idea of a money. Grab when you're within the marriage family structure that he's in money is not the first. There's the question of the night question with him as these reports and weeks have gone on is what is the level of interest in the Patriots treats especially bill belichick in in bringing Tom Brady back so the the idea that they would pay him. Thirty million would indicates me. It's high. It's it's high and and they're gonNA bring him back. I didn't I didn't know that and I feel like Ian. I thought there was like a chance they would go teddy bridgewater something like that. I really did. I think it's I think it has to do with what else is out there. And like Andy Dalton is not as. That's nice that people like to connect the DOTS and put Andy Dalton New England. And all this stuff by met no. It's flights it's flights out there people have little mentions of. Maybe Andy Dalton would be a fit for the cements exhaustion around this entire topic. It cannot be sealed up quickly enough either. figure it out just figured out figure. We're going to go. I don't WanNa hear another report about Klay. Biden wants to jump in I know he's he's Well he's not taking less money for the team narrative with with Brady well. But all taken it for I I mean I don't WanNa get too far in the conspiracy theories but I think Tom Brady is being compensated To the amount that he needs to to play for the New England Patriots I mean He. He owns a company. That is running and is operational and you can go. I do today At Patriot Patriot place. So that's not a conspiracy. That is I. Don't I don't know how that plays into your conspiracy. Do do think in terms of what Tom Brady wants Tom Brady wants to be wanted by the New England patriots. I I think he's a he's a guy that's obsessed with the way he's perceived with with bu the people that he works with and if they are willing to give him thirty million dollars in that says Tom we want you right once. We don't want Eighty Dalton. We don't want Hypothetically Cam Newton when we want you we love you Tom Bye. We will work out with your doctor. We will sell your wares feet away from the stadium. We love you. I mean al.. You are everything to fill. Its bill ballot check. He knows Robert Kraft wants wants to be new. England wants him. He knows Josh mcdaniels. It's the whole thing of does bill ballot L.. Check still want me. Does he still want him. I mean this is a guy. Bill ballot check who is ready to move forward with Jimmy Garoppolo of everything that came out of the whole Deflate Deflate Gate in that whole drama with Jimmy Jean after that the one. I think salient point to me as a patriots. Fan was ballots was very ready to just move forward with Jimmy Garoppolo and and so. That's in Tom. Brady's mine a couple of years later I would imagine that this guy might not want me. I still am not really sure but it might not be bill bell decision. It might be Robert Kraft decision. Let's move on.

Eli Manning and the Hall of Fame: The case for and against

"Ally manning thing announced his retirement on Wednesday retiring after sixteen seasons. He's thirty nine years old The giants quarterback who was of course supplanted by Danny dimes. This year but was a rock for for many years is now heads into retirement and it makes sense Meena In fact as a New York I all my friends are giant spans. I was on a tax change just the day before this news broke. And we're talking about that. Allies GonNA retire probably soon. Because when you look at the landscape with all these older quarterbacks on the market and what allies allies been doing the last couple of years. It never made sense that he was going to find a place to start games or perhaps he didn't want to be a backup. So this all made sense but still it. It is the end of an era in New York. I would love nothing more to come in here and defy I. I think what you all know. I'm about to say about Eli Manning I should not be wh- down calls US football cools right. Yeah I would love to say you know what guys you can't tell the story of football without Eli Manning which by the way why why is he the only person who gets that benefit say that about anyone else other than Eli. There's a lot of guys you can't tell the story of football without Aaron Hernandez put them in the hall of fame or if you want to look at pat super we were both. I mean they don't want any of them without dont`a hightower that's a holiday thing. Greg is compared. Eli Manning to know first. Ten Sahal Hyphen reductionist could be just one thing. You consider about a candidate quite well the few want ally in the holly. It's either two cases. One one is longevity. which is I think? A lot of people throw out. Because there's just too many guys who would get in by that and then the other is the two super bowls in the story thing. That's just not about how I would define it. It just becomes an argument. About how do you define the hall of fame. I think in my case against him has always been and yeah. I've been making this case for probably eight or nine years. So this is how long he's been average He's just been averaged entire career. Average in completion percentage yards per attempt. He's actually really way. Below average in the law of the interception categories passer rating these average. He's just for the time he entered the league to the time he left the league. He was an average quarterback over or that span. I I still don't like that being the conversation though when he retired. I we've had this argument so many times that I think we're just tired of it like we've said everything that there is to say about. Eli Manning in the Hall of Famer Eli Manning in general that. I actually was annoyed almost yesterday that that's the conversation when a really great player who was a big part of the league in you know no matter whether he was a top five quarterback no he never was maybe in two two thousand eleven. I went through it once. I think I had him at a top five quarterback one year top ten quarterback only one other your. Yeah that's not the hall of fame but like immediately the second he retires. The entire conversation is like the start of the public hall of fame. Talk which is GONNA be. Never any people are so confident about what's going to happen you don't I know what's going to happen becoming. We were like you know he will be in. It's like you don't know that I think the manning name like this is not a new thought but just that we've talked about royalty and stuff that he's sort of this. NFL Family fixture that. The people voting for this. I think they're gonNa Push Eli Manning right in not maybe. CBS voters down. The conversation depends on who he's against. Though you're really does. Conversation will be never ending for five years then going in. I'm sorry I don't listen you. Everybody discounts counting stats and cory will get too caught up or only point at the two rings and the two superbowl. MVP's but I just think there's something that'd be so if he didn't win those super bowls he's he's not he's not going to have him. I get that but there's something to be said and it's always been feel overlooked both on this podcast aspect in general. Because Eli can be a target. I feel like on twitter that the giants drafted him or the chargers. Technically but the giants Brought him into the team in two thousand four. They put him in the lineup in around October that year and then they never had to think about the quarterback position again for the next ten eleven eleven twelve years and I know things didn't end very well but they should have been thinking about it so when you're when you're talking about right ten years okay I'm GonNa say ten years when you think about other teams about your Brown's Mark My jets so many other teams in the league that go through constant search a churn looking for a guy and you end up with a stop. Stopgap and a rookie. You stinks and then a stop Gat and then another rookie. And maybe you hit on something. Like the SEAHAWKS got Russell Wilson. They don't have to think about anything. Russell Wilson's a better player than the but he eli for ten twelve years. They put him in there. He did his job. He was not spectacular but he was steady. You never had to worry about him getting hurt because he never did. He's the most durable the player ever. You'd never had to worry about him saying stupid something stupid to the media. He always handled that very well. You never had to worry about him. Getting into like a behind the scenes drama with with a coach and exploding and him being at odds and using the media to get a point across and all that stuff he was a Walter Payton Man of the year guy he was a total title. Good Dude and in those playoff runs. Then you factor that in for me. He rose up in historic way. And then just beat. Anybody didn't beat the Jacksonville. We'll jaguars didn't beat a Pittsburgh. steelers heat the Patriots and he'd be Bill Bell Check and he'd beat Tom Brady. And if if that's not something that should be given added points knowing who the Patriots are and what they represent in this era of NFL football. I'm sorry I disagreed to just kind of view that uh-huh yeah beat the Patriots. No he beat the greatest team of all time the greatest quarterback in the greatest head coach. I think that means a lot. His team did right playing. Okay Ah in that Super Bowl. I don't think he would say he had the best game. Even the play he's known for is crazy play. That could never be replicated. The two twenty eleven run is what I remember most fondly. Va Man. I think people kind of forget that won the last game of the regular season that they played it was against the cowboys and then the three league games in the NFC playoffs and that Super Bowl he had a collection of some of the most improbable. Low percentage awesome throws goes for five weeks. Stretch that you'll ever see Joe flacco kind of had a somewhat similar run any add little moments like that the year after they won the Super Bowl two thousand eight. He was really good throughout the year but they didn't win the Super Bowl because if eli manning they want it because of their defense I mean they wanna because of Justin Tuck and he learned of it. It's equally reductive to me to say. They won because of the argue he was part of it took to get into the. I mean the kind of connected back to the HIGHTOWER. No one's out here making a case for hightower you kind of do you. You like to throw this one in. I is the single most important outside of Brady and Gronk like the Patriots. Don't have this run of Super Bulls without dont`a hightower. I think I don't think belongs in the hall of fame but you could every all of the cases were making for. Eli You could just as easily make for like twenty other other random playwright quarterback a case you've made for you. I think is the case. Why he's a great memorable? NFL figure. It's just that's different than in. Our weather also talked about about it forever his position he was not a top ten quarterback. I would say for every year but two of his career. There's no one in the hall of fame you can say they've also said forever. You're in West. You've quoted Vince Lombardi on this that the quarterback it just the most important for a position or a position where the spotlight as and that comes with way. More pressure To it then dot high tower where his position is. I just think what you I was able to do in that spot in those two years is something you can't take away from. I and and say oh he was carried to titles. Because I don't I just don't see it that way. I think you've you stated the case very well. I think it falls shy of the hall of fame. I think if you're a jets fan like Dan or you're the browns fan and you've seen nothing but Ship wrecked chaos at the quarterback position. That the the idea that you would draft someone who would play as Eli did before a PR stunt got him benched you know. Couple of years twelve years of sixteen starts and by the way we are stunned. Got Him benched. He got himself well. That's fine but I'm saying but also the disrespect I just giants fan and you draft draft Philip rivers and he. He did what he did. But you get Eli Manning out of it and you know. He's going to win two super bowls in essentially a total ironman at the position. He's a hall of fame to a lot of giants fans I get. I don't think he belongs to the meeting. Early either reading a story just reading up on allies career. I completely forgot the whole two thousand seventeen. NFL: Two head coaching hires in 10 minutes

"The draft before the combine. We still have several weeks. NFL Action to go. We have some new coaches join. Join the NFL. As recently as this afternoon and joining me to talk about that and the playoff games is our friend with the Atlantic Lindsay Jones Lindsay. How are you? I'm good oh how are you. I'm good I thought this was going to be kind of a quiet day in the NFL landscape and then suddenly to head. Coaching hires in the matter of ten minutes. This morning Matt rule going to the panthers. Joe Judge going to the giants after Mike McCarthy was named cowboys coach earlier this week. So let's start with today's news. Let's start with Matt rule who gets a seven year deal. What sixty seventy million dollars? A lot of money. Samat rule to leave Baylor and come work for the Carolina Panthers. Yeah I mean it sounded like one of those Offers you can't refuse type of situation where I think he's GonNa have a lot of power he's also got a lot of money and A lot of years to do To do what the panthers to do. It's not quite a Jon. GRUDEN ten years one hundred million dollar type of deal but David Tepper is showing that he is not afraid to spend a lot of money to invest very heavily in his head coach and head coach You know when everything else that they're doing I mean they're building a brand new practice facility. They're building the indoor facility. I mean they're spending a lot of money Darren Charlotte and you know I. It was interesting that there was kind of story that also came out. The rule wanted to kind of bring that offer back to the giants Because he was going to interview with the giants as well but The giants said okay. We're going to hire JOE judge instead of paying Instead of hiring not rule it six years seventy million dollars or whatever it is so Really really interesting. Move there Bell what are you. What was your initial? Take on it. I guess and then I'll I'll go with yours it. I think it's interesting in that. I'm not gonNA pretend that I am someone who has watched every Baylor game this year. I've watched a little bit and I've read up a Matt Rule Essay coaching candidate. Now for the past two years of course rule was very very nearly the jets head coach last year before jazz blocked him hiring his own offensive coordinator which point he stepped out of that process and they hired Adam Gates move. That has worked out brilliantly for the jets of course in the afterward with that rule. I think there are certainly elements of a a run first attack. I think he is not someone who is seen as a a progressive offensive minded. They've run EARNHARDT Peos this year. He has seen that as sort of a you know. I can't deal with the devil to run as much of the rushing game as he wants to and I think that's very interesting given what we have. In Carolina we have Christian McCaffrey who's entrenched is the best running back in football at the moment. We Have Cam Newton who I think you know certainly seems like this offer. This higher would probably be good for him in a way back for him in a way. Oh you know good in that. The run first attack does seem to favor can if he can be a player who does impact game with his leg. Still which we don't know coming back from injury but it's pretty clear that you know if Matt rule wants to move on from Cam Newton. He's going to have plenty of time to move on and higher higher or or or or sign up backup quarterback or assigned a young quarterback or draft a quarterback and give that guy a time to develop so I kind of feel of two minds. It's for this when it comes to the biggest decision for the second the second biggest decision the panthers have to make this office and I don't know how you feel about do you do. What does this mean for you for Cam Newton? Yeah I I think the first thing is just how healthy is he gonNA be. What's his time? Line going to be like their That's the thing that just is over everything and has been over everything for the panthers for going on two years now I still think he's GonNa be back and and I've been I've been thinking about this a lot over the last few few days I've been writing about brees and Brady and thinking about all of the potential quarterback moves that we're gonNA see the offseason and well this time of year. It's really fun fun to speculate about. All the potential moves and this year is more interesting than any quarterback off season that I can remember and maybe ever certainly certainly as long as my nfl institutional memory is But ultimately moving on from a quarterback and guy who's taking you to a super bowl who's won an MVP Without some sort of really solid plan in place is it's a really hard at it. It's so rare that it happens so ultimately I think he ends up being back. I think he's there's so many things that you can do with him if he's going to be healthy but that if he's going to be healthy is just the biggest question that's been out there and We're not going to know that for a couple abundance I guess the good news is that they don't have to make that move or decision on Cam Newton. Today I mean they they really can can wait a couple of months but ultimately. I think that there are better team with him. And the options outside of him are just not that great. I mean. There's some intriguing names out there but I just think I don't think you're GonNa do better than Cam. Newton Can A new. There's even seventy five percent of the quarterback that he was in two thousand fifteen when he was at his peak. Yeah or even the guy who was playing well in the first half of two thousand eighteen. I think that can traffic is still really good There's a definitely interesting sort of dichotomy with that rule or I guess not a paradox. In that he is a very conservative. Very first coach. But we've we've seen in the report effortless. Hire one of the reasons that the panthers were able to Land Matt run into the panthers was because they're making a huge investment in sports science. You mentioned the practice facility being built there. I mean it seems like it's a you know. This is the the beginning of a major infrastructure shift for the panthers to being an organization that they wanNA emulate the steelers and they wanna be simultaneously Eh analytics friendly at the same time so I think it was going to be a really interesting sort of narrow path to hit their where they are a run for his team which is typically considered to be sort of a antiquated or old school notion but making it work and so I think in the long run. They might end up being more similar to the Ravens. Who seemed to embody all those things right now in the steelers? Yeah I mean that's absolutely the franchise right now that you want to emulate if you look at WHO's doing it the best right now from both play on the field but also what they're doing inside their building and the the mindset that they have with the type of people that they hire The way that they make all their decision I think it's the Ravens and I guess that comes from the steelers family and that's so so that's what he's familiar with. But I think the other thing that we we didn't talk about was not rule that we just really have to mention. Is that while we can talk about schematics. And look at his Ex's knows and yes he's run I but you know what college offenses he bringing those sorts of things. I think the biggest reason that he was this really hot. NFL Coaching candidate over the last two years. This is his reputation. That's kind of a program builder and The work that he did at temple the way that he really kind of overhauled Baylor over the last two the three years when they were really a disaster The the way he interacts with players You know he brought his father and his former pastor and coach and you know I just think that Dad's what made him so attractive in addition to obviously like the the the skills that he has. It's an actual you know coach but You know I think we get so caught happen. Like what exactly is this. Guy's offense going to look like or what exactly is this guy's defense gonNa look like when really what owners and management are looking at is. What's this Guy's vision? How is he going to interact after everything everybody in the building? How does he relate to players What is his vision? All those sorts of things not really why they came out rule You know a bunkers you you know seventy million dollar contract Jack. Think that's very fair and I think that's really what they're bringing matt rule to do. I mean this is a guy who they think is going to overhaul everything about the panthers. The culture is going to change not that rhinovirus culture was bad. Obviously it worked for a long time but I think you know this is going to be a eighteen. An organization top to bottom built in in the vision of Matt Rule on the other side of things You think about the hiring. The giants made today in Joe Judge who granted. I think there's been that those sort of initial tweets coming out the wide receivers coach. He's really special teams coach. He is not good for one year. He has been the Patriot special teams coach for a long time. He has worked under Bill Bell. Check US worked under Nick Sabin. Those are pretty successful people to work underneath and yet it sort of seems like not. Maybe this is wrong to say but it seems like this higher is out of nowhere. Is that fair to say a little bit. I mean he was.

"If Bill bell check it said, these same things, about Randy moss, in OT, as leading to two thousand seven never made never been or two thousand seven don't Randy moss. No sorry. In. The point is the patriots have always pay. You have to pay a price fries. Absolutely. Obviously, you paid the price by yourself. You would keep yourself in supreme shape. Mike Shanahan new year coach you, you can be counted on to do that, after you were an established ideal to the first, my first year in Baltimore, for sure. Yes. Okay. Yes to yes. You have to show them. You're all in that you're dedicated to the process of becoming the new patriots. Okay. In FREDDY went on and on about how important that, that the, the OT OT as our for knowledge for learning how to compete at a young players, you gotta show them, right? And I don't even know what Dell has to show them yet because he has little to show what he's done in the NFL. Says the show up and that's what I went to Baltimore for I'd needed to show you, why how I want to now how became the player that I became. Okay. Okay. That's what he did that. How you eats? Is this how you train this high prices all those things? Oh, didn't show Joel how you became the player a will where we know how you became yourself. You play it happened on a Sunday night. And you saw that you could get celebrity even though you lost the game. We don't celebrate scale guy have guy here for half court shot. And it lose the game there that fifty five times he made a catch remember, they got they got the brakes beat them by the Cowboys that Sunday night. They did. Oh, they'll probably made two hundred fifty thousand dollars off a side of that picture. And I'm a cowboy fan. I bring the it and then put y'all still ale. Yep. That is true. And I'm with you on alleviate Vernon. He has nothing to show for his NFL resume either. He's one. No playoff games as a giant, and he might have been on that boat. The captain and the captain's chairs. I don't know. I've said this for several years now about Dell. I believe he has a good heart. I don't think he's a bad kid, but his priorities are completely out of wack or they're just whack period because he still prioritizes, starring over win in the end he wants to promote himself as opposed to pay the price to go win a Super Bowl with a new team. And in the end all I know is that when he was presented an opportunity get ready for a playoff game at Lambeau Field to your point. He he, he led the tour group to south beach for a day off. You can't do it. It'd be the last thing you would have thought of, at that moment. If they had the by week and the coast, I'm gonna give you guys off until Thursday. Go lay off the blow steam get away but not on a Monday. And you playing on Sunday if he backed it up put his feet were his mouth was in really come to play at Lambeau, but he dropped too big balls in the first quarter and they got blown out. You can't wait a week. You what you did that Monday, if you had waited one week, you'd have been able to do that without the criticism had a lot of injuries that we don't he's missed game Elijah years. So has he figured out the strength and conditioning has figured out what to do in the off seasons? We figured it out yet. I don't know really how you know all these pictures on g would of Cleveland polls over the Browns helmet on will you actually they're not? No imposed fancying like they're ready. They don't care about his commitment to run. I'd like to see he's going to show up for game one. The ball skill. As a matter of fact, I'll see you the falls. I gotta go, gotta go. Eight. Take time. I gotta get mentally ready to present my best self. I don't wanna see when Instagram, then, please none of that. Works around here. Thanks for listening to the undisputed podcast. I'm Johnny Taft. "Whistle change. But as long as you're discussing you're you're in good stead. Yeah. It's pretty good company that they're all keeping Rick Gosselin talk of fame network. Pro football hall of fame voter can be followed on Twitter at Rick Gosselin nine Rick. Thanks so much for joining us say hi to Ron Borges and Clark judge a cost on that great show tonight. Thank you. Thank you. Rick is also a baseball hall of fame voter, we didn't even that. He's double dipping double dipping. Yeah. I don't know of anyone. I think there's only one other person in the country carrying a region covers the NFL, but she's not a pro football hall of fame voter, but she's a baseball hall of fame voter, but probably should be his Rick is. Anybody else? Yeah. She's great. Rick is great because he's rich really put forth the special teams rankings at the teams actually use breaks down. Everything not just you know, putting average in how many extra points some kicker was able to be successful on they use those rankings could be taking victory lap today. But he's not getting credit from Bill bell. Check after a Super Bowl win is something pretty special. I would say I reach out. And I think that's where you see where bell check really respects, the the writers that brings something not to him that he there helping him when a championship. But like I've said this before if he walks into the studio today, and we had an hour or two hours with him. I wouldn't start talking about players that he has right now, or, you know, can you rank the six Lombardi trophies like we're going to do that segment because that's that's fun stuff on talk radio. I would want to pick his brain about the other great coaches that he admired and grew up from and and just you know, what it was like to coach under Bill Parcells or a what was it coach under or learn from his dad, you know, those. Types of things because we hear these stories. That's the best puncher ever say he'll go on there. It'd be the Johnny Hecker or Ryan Allen he likes both of those guys a feast on Sunday with thirteen punts speech very excited. He does he gets excited about those little things, you know, who's the best long snap. He does love special teams does. Right. Well, that's reading too. Teeth with the colts in lions. And that's why he is such a great coach because he's coached all three aspects of the game. Like, again, how many times have you seen Andy Reid with laminated menu? You know, he's a great play caller. But does he really have the control of the entire team or even now we see Sean McVay great play caller, except he wasn't on Sunday. But does he really no defense? Does he knows special teams with ballot? Check. He's got a pulse on everything. And that's what makes them the best coach flip up by leaps and bounds. I mean, it's it's even wider now because of what he pulled off on Sunday. Yeah. I think a lot of people are coming to that conclusion, especially something we said yesterday if you're going to give him crap about last year Super Bowl, which that's fair. You gotta give them all the accolades for this year's one. You can't work. Both those always. Now, he deserves a ton of credit may have very well been his masterpiece. There's three of them that I put up their defense coordinator for the second giant Super Bowl was brilliant. And then beating the ram seventeen years ago as the head coach and obviously with his fingerprints on that defensive game plan an offensive game plan against the Rams and Super Bowl thirty six. And then when he pulled off on Sunday, but we're talking about nearly thirty years apart which shows you that this guy's been that good for that long. And that means a lot as well. It's not like he had this short career guys been coaching in the NFL in some capacity since one thousand nine hundred eighty right now, we talk all the time about coaches Manuel game sort of passed him by happened. Jon Gruden who is much younger than Bill is gonna have to learn what the NFL now is never pass bell, Jack buying in fact, he either adapt or reinvent says he goes, it's it's pretty astounding that he's been able to do that. And to have perhaps his best coaching game in. What would be? His I don't know how long you've been coaching NFL fifty years seventy five so forty forty three forty three years. So in fort is forty third years, a member of the NFL hitting perhaps his greatest performance, it's pretty remarkable. And he's gone to twelfth Super Bowls nine is the head coach and threes in assistant coach he's gonna twelve of the fifty three games, and he wasn't even coaching in the first ten of them. He wasn't even eligible to be part of that. So it seems like he's at around. I don't know thirty eight percent of the games that he's been part of the league on he's been in the Super Bowl. Just amazing stuff. When we come back. We'll talk about Bill Belichick not only being the greatest coach in league history. But where you would rank among coaches in the other major sports all of that comes up next on the run down here on Boston Herald radio. Genius has now destroyed the impediment of the terrestrial radio. Boston.

"And and that's really the key to the game is that he needs to be protected and and be able to make some throws 'cause you're not going to be Tom Brady with a running game. So you're going with are you going with the Rams is that what I'm here? Top. Right. So like, this is this is incredibly close match up. And you know, you look at like what we have for numbers at PF. It's pretty neck and neck now, I'm gonna go with the Rams because they do have a better overall team that is better secondary to have lightly better pass rush into lines are equal. Tom Brady better than dear God. But I think I think what the Rams can do overall. They're a better team. But really I never like, thanks Tom Brady and Bill bell share you and me both on that. And what happened on the final play at Miami? After Tom Brady data's best game disaster happened something that Bill bell. Check has never let happen under his watch happened. It sent them to Kansas City on the road in the cold in the loudest outdoor other than Seattle question. Had New England had the number one SIEM. Do you believe they had the fourth? Best odds to get to the Super Bowl. Probably not probably would help just a little bit. But Tom Brady went to Kansas City. You said he couldn't do that. Because you said he couldn't beat the child. And yet Tom Brady had not won a road plant game since two thousand six tooth think about that word twenty nine thousand nine he had not one road playoff game. That's that's insatiable in considering that air. Arizona casing. It was thirteen years before Tom Brady got his last road playoff win. They wonder home playoff game. "And we haven't seen anything. But you know, you start to look at the story lines here in certainly with the patriots. We've been down this road. So many times we'll Tom Brady retire. We had that debate last year. Bill bell checks greatness is the greatest. Coach in the history of sports. You know, this is gronk last stand. I think I know the Jay Glazer mentioned something yesterday that caught fire a little bit that maybe could see Brady and Bella check. Both retiring. I don't know if Brady can retire and his strange that's going to sound it feels like you get rid of Jimmy Garoppolo you trade Garoppolo because he starts to encroach upon Tom's role is starter and leader this team in you know, their best quarterback you trade him you trade him away and get a second round pick. I don't know if Tom Brady convinced say to Robert Kraft, you know, I think this is it if I win Bella check and Robert Kraft have they both know the plan of when Bella check is going to retire. But they're not going to reveal that Bella check, of course won't. But Robert Kraft he knows when Bill is going to retire. They've already had a discussion about this. I don't know if Robert Kraft knows when Tom Brady's gonna retire. I thought that he was going to retire. If he won the Super Bowl last year. I truly thought that and I was ready to ask a question on the podium about that if they won that Super Bowl. But with Bela check, I don't think Bella check is stepping down and less Josh mcdaniels stays, and he's you know, we know we had the colts job. And then he comes back and that maybe he didn't go all in on interviewing for head coaching jobs. He didn't get the Packers job took his name out of the running. When he wasn't getting it. And then he comes back to the patriots. But I don't know if this would be in tandem with Brady and Bella check. I also find it fascinating that you know, when we look at the patriots and Seth wicker sham. Great. Quarter for ESPN. He just did a deep dive with the Cleveland Browns and talked about what's going on in the front office. And it's a mess. He did the same thing with the patriots last year. But if you're going to tell me, and I know this sells, but you told me the negative parts of the patriots the infighting. But if that's the case at all sign up for that. Because look at what we've seen over seventeen eighteen year period here, if that's infighting sign me up, but you also have an the roles have been defined Brady is the quarterback. Bella check is the coach Robert Kraft the owner, but but they don't get out of their lanes. This is what they do. And they do it extremely well. The Browns you got an owner who has no clue whatsoever. We doesn't and an owners their ego. They have to be involved. This is the problem with Jerry Jones the owner. He gets involved gets involved too much. Now, he's been better..

"How big the moment is how rare it is to get to this point in the season that could allow at home a team as talented and quarterback is towns his Patrick Mahomes to play freer than you. Typically would in a game to get to the super like you only have to go back to last week to see that he wasn't affected by that big stage, or at least it didn't appear to be. He had a handful of games at least throughout the season. Where you saw the beginning. He was maybe a little hesitant or offer a little bit road. Okay. Now, he's at home similar big stage. And last week. He was able to do it. But playoff teams he is not played his best football to the numbers that you talk about Patty homes. It might be a perfect storm. What about when the league opened up the change the rules that might lead to of having one the the the most historic seasons that we've ever seen the reason why experience becomes important because. Yeah, you don't know what you don't know. But what do you do with that emotion? I saw last week game. And. Even though you couldn't see it, Patty Mahomes. We'll tell you in the press conference that was a game like he'd never played he reacted in a positive way. It's who can do placate it. That's why Tom Brady's experiences important. You know, the reason why because it's all great Nick, you mentioned there's been no quarterback that plays on third down in the fourth quarter and overtime of Super Bowl and playoff games. Like Tom Brady. So it's not only the experience it's his expertise. Also having experience I didn't mention that. He was great. I didn't meant to these pinpoint passer. I didn't mentioned he has a rare rare running game. So that experience it comes with other stuff. I mean, if he did want someone to whisper to him Bill Belichick he can whisper to me if he wants to he can sit next to me, there's no coach at ever have more experience. I just think this is one of the unique matchups that will ever see in pro football are in sports. And like, Nick, I do believe this. There's always a change another guard. Can we? Predict it or can we see it a lot of times. We can't see it coming this one might be right in front of our face. And we might I had a chance to predict it. I saw it right there. Tom Brady in Arrowhead against Patty Mahomes. Yes. Wouldn't be surprised at all if the chiefs came out with victory because you know, the reason why they got the most talented player. And that does mean something and see and we're talking about talent versus experience at the quarterback position. That's kind of the story of the two teams against each other. The chiefs are evaded the same thing. I didn't against the chargers. Patch chargers. Patch chiefs who were the most talented players in the game chiefs going to have seven of the top nine once again. But almost none of them have the experience that almost everyone on the patriots got a kick out of the concept of the thought of Bill bell checks sitting down on the next time rating. He goes this is a football game. Thanks coach. I'm going to kill it. It's got to kick that joke that was moving show. That's exactly what happened. Just laugh. Could you at least we do have? "How do you defend him? And I think that's what he's telling them without telling them and saying, hey this week this time, we'll be ready. I think he was ready week six zero. Because Shannon Sharpe continues to say coche bills bell check. He's still got his baseball. This was a first year starter in his first attempt against a bell. Check defense and early on in that game. Dante Hightower fooled almost a pick six he got it all the way back to the four yard long. And that was the last time I saw that kid fooled football game because the one at the end of the hat. He's not fooled. He's just throwing it to the wrong jerseys because they're to patriots jerseys in between you Patrick and your receiver in the end zone. And that's a bad idea that just that just kid stuff, right? Causes body. But he he gets. He gets away with it. But every once in a while, you can that's why I'm not bought all the way into young. Okay. But he was so confused that from that point on from halftime on he scored thirty one points against Bill check in Foxborough on a Sunday night telecast, that's outrageously good and outrageously wrong for Bill bell check. So don't tell me. He still has his fastball. Got a kid hung thirty one on him in the second half. The kid brought his team back despite his two interceptions. One almost a pick six gift. Touchdown. He brought him all the way back to thirty three to thirty ahead. So it took Tom Brady throwing for one hundred and eighty two in the fourth quarter. And outscoring the kid eighteen to sixteen in the fourth quarter to pull it out of the fire. But what if he does doesn't what have Dante how doesn't bully? Because a lot of maybe don't fool. It's just walks away with that. Right say, we're having all different conversation. Now skip a lot of time coverages. There's only so many coverages you can run waters cover five couple one single high bomb. Blitz is the fronts that can confuse the quarterback because the quarterback looking at okay in this front. They like to play this coverage behind this from steel ya'll that three or four yard you do a lot of things. But the thing is is he's looking at. Okay this front right here. A lot of times you noticed. Coach Coachella take all his lime. Everybody's standing up. Nobody's gonna down stance. He don't want you to know because you try to dinner FAI big big big big. Okay. That's the Mike. No. We will take the mic to the little guy here. So he has everybody standing up because he's trying to computer. So maybe they compute Pat behold with the front is it. Okay. Yeah. They gave us this front, but they played this coverage behind pet Mahomes won't get me. Again betcha that so how many unscheduled looks. Fused. Check down Alex Smith back in October early October of twenty fourteen in Kansas City, when they won forty one to fourteen you think unscheduled looks really just rectum everything down but skill. About Tom Brady. Turn the ball over time alone. Just second. Then how many unscaled looks full check down Alex in the opening Thursday night game. You know that to two years Kareem hot. Oh, well that was forty two points right there. And then thirty one points in the second half this year. And how about the check down Alex playoff game at Foxboro in which he went twelve of twenty on third down, and they control the football. Thirty eight minutes to only twenty two for Tom Brady and Brady still managed to pull it out of the fire. Even though it went to an onside kick at the end of the game. But they they dominated all the stats that game. And I don't think check down was fooled by any unscheduled looks in that game. I I don't know. And then I don't know how many unscarred looks you guys Nick foles in the Super Bowl, but he didn't seem fool. I don't know. Maybe maybe I was wrong. But he didn't look fooled in that game. Fully scored forty one. Here's the thing. Even though you might pull somebody limitation what help when you get pressure..

"He wasn't gonna lose. They've only lost three playoff games in Foxborough since he's been the quarterback. What is it is it eight AM C championship aims AFC championship? Get that's like some LeBron James calf Tyke, Brian. Vinyl? Eight NBA final type stuff. It. In Belgium that to that. He's just whoever whoever the other guy is doesn't matter. The other guy could be really as a McKesson. Thank you. So or twelve game they won the division with Matt castle who went to a handful of other teams and couldn't play dead and they want a lesson games with him in New England. That's how that's how good of a coach Bill bell. Jack is but they're also three and four in the road and the plows and they're going on the road. So as good if they are at home, and obviously they play a lot of home games when a given the road unless like a fifty fifty tossup, I think Kansas City, I think has should beat them. But. It's a situation where you can't count them out three and four on the road, all his cute. But you cannot count them out. They shown you too many times when you decided to count him out. They didn't lose at home and on the road there pretty pretty average. Yeah. But, but, but you know, home teams wing home games split on a road win home games. And you'll be fine in that's pretty much what they did. And I think when you look at it. That's why teams want to have home field advantage. That's why they fight to have home. If they didn't need home for the vantage is go out there and play in the back door into the playoffs every year, and it wouldn't matter they'd be on the road consistently. They're not built for the role their built a home. They're built a win win over and over and over the last two kind of Murray has a decision to make money or get into that. NFL playoff picture: Chiefs’ loss against the Rams helps the Patriots in the race for the AFC’s top seed

"So Nick after you saw what you saw from both teams offensively last night in the Rams and the chiefs can the patriots keep pace with that type of offense St. think not the patriots we've seen through ten weeks now with the patriots won't turn the ball over the way both teams Dade yesterday. They won't commit a dozen first-half penalties or close to it. The way the chiefs did yesterday, they're not going to beat themselves. But you looked at just the overwhelming offense of talent take the quarterbacks out of it and Brady last month hadn't been great take him out. Let's Brady come the playoffs going to be awesome with lesser grunk with Josh Gordon that still is not yet seemingly fully on the same page with Brady you look at what the saints have what the Rams have what the chiefs have what the Steelers have even and you say as far as talent. Perspective. The patriots are playing Tom Brady's stacked deck against him. And so I mean, I wouldn't count the patriots out in any scenario because they're so good at the details. But as far as trying to win a shootout, I know they did against cancer the earlier in the year. I was with gronk little healthier that was with the team playing a little bit better. I don't think they can keep up with the top flight offenses in the league as we're seeing them right now, we always do this in football is not a tale of the take. You look at the pats. How they play you watch the game last night. You'll be like, wow. How are they going to keep up this going to do the pets have started seven and three in the last ten years? They've done that half the time, but they've only made it to the Super Bowl with a by. So if they were to play one of these teams, and they had a bye, you're not gonna see Tareq you'll have two hundred yards that does not going to happen to a Bill Belichick team. So they might go score some points. They might build move the ball. But you're not gonna have one guy Bill to dominate the game. So in seeing this what? Say it's not about the offense. Do Bill Chitwood do something about Kansas City, entire healed. Now would Kelsey heard him would a healthy. Sammy Watkins Bill to hurt them. They have so many talented players on both side the way the Rams played patients. Couldn't do anything with that Jared Goff played that way in the Super Bowl. The patriots wooden goes, Tom because there's not one thing that they would build a take away from them was Bill bell. Check is going to try to do. The thing about is. It's not a matter who's the best right now. We know the patriots are going to get better. It's predictable. They're always better as the season goes on. So now in these last six games will they go five and one will they go six to build a get either that number two seater that number one seat that is the key to them. They will keep evolving keep getting better. Let's see how the Rams how they respond to this by a right? It's still a very very young team. I do like how they responded after the law. Us to New Orleans how they've come back and how Sean McVeigh has replaced the overall productivity of Cooper Cup. So those things I think are very very positive going forward. But the patriots they will not be the same team in January that they are today..

"All right, who got? Well, we got lovey Smith, what's his story? Oh, he coach with Monica Maneken and Rodman Ellie and Tony Dungy. It's like, okay, I got it. So I don't know exactly what you're gonna do, but I know what you're never going to do, and that's how I would kind of group it in my mind, those Tampa to style. Guys, they're very methodical. It's like math, like we are going to not riverboat gamblers. We're not gonna take chances. Everything we do is gonna make sense. We're not gonna come after you that much. We're gonna come after you with like maybe two backers on this side or two backers. On that side, the craziest will get is. We'll bring both safeties and play cover zero meaning no help deep, but we're only going to do that probably from like the twenty five to thirty two and to knock you out of field goal range. And then we're definitely going to do it on a two point conversion and that sort of the book on those guys and they're so good at what they do. They, they believe in it so much like they're not gonna deviate. Bill bell check in his disciples, they're not gonna all out blitz you. They're just never going to do that. They're really good at other things and they don't feel like they need to. They're going to set that edge. They're gonna make you go the long hardway. They're not going to let you have crossers if they can help it, you know. So just really like Rex, I'm thinking like the Buddy Ryan Rex Ryan. He had. He's the river real gambler if he gets it all frustrated, he's blitz in everybody. If he could blitz from the parking lot, when he showed it, but his daddy and he's ending the blitz, it's not gonna make sense. Sometimes it could be okay. There's thirteen seconds left on the clock. We have to get in the end zone. In theory, you're thinking they're going to play across the front of the goal line. They're going to play prevent, probably not. He might say, nah, my guys are gonna love it. If we get home, how cool to sack fumble for a touchdown, be right now. And so it's actually in my mind more difficult to play against the guy like Rex because it's unpredictable. Like it's almost predictably on predictable. He might decide to just rush two guys sometime like you just don't know. And so you spend hours and hours and hours all week getting your, you know, protections gains up and he's not even gonna blitz t- sucks. He's going to have dropping Paskov coverage and it's like all this work for that..

"I agree with it to look at Bill bell check I it's just the little man had the wrong gradual decline. Maybe it's Bill a chick grin, Tom Brady's balloon there on a deep all the fourth quarter this game, they'd think that maybe I'm finally on the right track. Radio hasn't had a good three games. I think that that is the most concerning part of even week one where he moved the ball and had an overall good game at six or seven. Incomplete s- just inaccurate throws which you don't see from him. He has not been accurate. I think it does have to do with the pieces around him. But when is the last time we were sitting here, you're mining deep into the second half. He. He has ninety yards passing crazy. Yeah, you could go back. I don't even know if it's ever happened. Shout about the dolphins game in December list you. That wasn't quite as bad, but you're right. It was similar shadow happens to the lions who got off the mat and Matt Patricia who really has whether to storm here to start his career that had to feel good. I think he probably was hoping that bell check would maybe give them a little bit of a longer hug, say something encouraging or something, congratulatory, but bills not going to do that. 'cause bills, not that type of guy. That's not how this and then walk off whatever Bill, but map, Patricia your boy. You student actually beat the pitcher, the teacher, it's a massive win for them who shouldn't be thinking. They're season's over by any means you're wanting to suddenly the giants feel differently about their seeding suddenly the bills feel differently. It's like, it's not too early to get off our these lions veterans who were so peaked about having to work hard and suddenly practices a little tougher are we are, we thinking, maybe they're starting to wake up to this. This will come down, can't expect football players. To run Mark the north, the bears great defense, questionable quarterback situation splice around the NFL podcast, the Packers, a suspect skill core, and also quarterback. "He's been limited in practice so that might have played into to to the decision to move aircraft in that game that Gordon injury, even though the patriots didn't report it during the game. But I think there's still some settling to be done there. I think the patriots will probably give Eric Rowe and other shot because he was really good during the preseason and training camp. But I mean, as we know from SuperBowl fifty to Bill bell check does not hesitate to bench a cornerback. He doesn't hesitate. To to play the hot handed that position over the years. We've seen Malcolm Butler bench. We've seen Eric Rowe benched. We've seen Stefan Gilmore bench. We've seen Logan, Ryan, Kyle, Errington, lots of guys, and usually they do earn that roll back at some point. Obviously, Malcolm Butler didn't in the Super Bowl, but especially this week given the Detroit Lions size at wide receiver, and he's got Kenny golladay, six, four, Marvin Marvin Jones, who six foot one on the primary where they're wide receiver. I think that it would definitely be a benefit to have. Eric, rose height. He's six foot one over a guy like Jason Gordy, who's five foot ten, five, eleven. Yeah, it certainly seems like that would make more sense. I'm intrigued to see how that sort of shapes up in the long run. Because obviously, you know, it does seem like a place where there's thing talent there. There's certainly depth there, but it is going to be interesting to see how it sort of shapes up as the season goes along. I mean, the patriots are another name to throw in there to just while we're on the conversation. Cornerback undrafted rookie JC Jackson, he added another really good preseason really get training camp. He's been a healthy scratch through the first two weeks of the season, but I won't be too surprised if the patriots, at least activated him against the lions in case things do go wrong at cornerback again. And then maybe you give him a shot because over the summer looked like he could definitely be the next. Malcolm Butler type undrafted free agent to come into a ST John's. Yeah. And then also fifth round pick one join. Bentley, excuse me played a big role in week one in the plate about half the snaps in week two. Do you? Is there a spot on this roster given the patriots track record, given their history of trading for players midseason beyond Josh, Gordon beyond by receiver where you think you could see them making some sort of trade fishing and trading a fifth or sixth or seventh round pick for veteran is that it's hard to pick a player around the league, but is there a spot you might think they try and upgrade over the next few weeks. Yeah. I mean, I certainly would not be surprised that they tried to pull a poetry here. Linebacker is one spot that I think patriots fan certainly think is weaker position. John Bentley has been decent in his first two weeks as a rookie fifth round pick Calvin is a, you know, average starter. Their deposition Dante Hightower hasn't looked quite as spry as we're used to seeing him. So there's been some thought of possibly moving him to the edge, at least among in the fan base and writers. I think that might be an interesting move for the patriots just to maybe help out on the edge there for the patriots where they need help if he'd get him out of that middle linebacker position. But really they're not happy with John Davis if they're not happy with detour to is or or Derek rivers, or you know, even Adrian clayborn then maybe they try to upgrade their and they don't moved onto Hightower, but really would probably be in that front seven. There Dante Hightower, of course, played defensive end last year early in the season going down with an injury, so would not be a foreign move for the patriots by any means, I guess my last question for you here. Doug is overall, I mean, are your expectations for the patriots after two weeks? Any different from your expectations in July or August, or heading into the season. I don't think so. I, I tend not to not to panic too much about this patriots team just because it's it's made so many people look stupid in the past where you know they have these early season losses..
