"His fall on the list. I'm next spot bill. Belichick obviously Element that there is some. There are some legacy built in here as well. Jack has lagged behind the for the past decade in terms of making decisions on fourth down with the twenty patriots going for only on just thirty nine percent of ambition -able situations that ranked twenty fourth and football in the teams who hundred zero point. Five expect the points in the process that said last year's team and just the twenty first most wind up replacement and then at all but still managed to win seven games in the division with the bills and the dolphins rich double digit victories. Air may be seen if they can win with cam. newton swimming four business began. It's likely bell check I mean like you said the legacy bullen here make sense that bill check on here. I mean bill. Belichick is a good coach. I mean and tom brady's really good but like him in back in the day him in a brady were just good He jason jason. Can you hear me. please tell me. I haven't been doing this all. Very low volume. It didn't even listening. He comments let me know that you can hear me. I have been going for a while but And it shows my mic is working so thanks for hopping on the jason. I know your work. I appreciate it. Okay then we got our next one. What does the interesting one kevin stefanski. After the vikings inexplicably let savan ski. Leave the building between nineteen playoffs. I wrote that he was the offensive mind. The team needed despite a really noisy. Twenty twenty season with mitch cleveland's number one writer zebra was lost for the for the season. Due to injury. Three straight games were played in inclement weather in a late season. Contests jets was played with no wide receivers active. The browns one total games with the first time since bill belichick was their head coach defined ski went for on a league. High of eighty one percent of the mission -able for downs in the first three quarters of close games including playoffs. But the four star. He didn't go for in the playoffs against she's likely haunting for some time. Now there are less. Things are looking up in cleveland So this is interesting I don't know how i feel being. I mean it's great that he got the brands to playoff game since they haven't been in such a long time.

"I wake up. I hear the same narrative it's like like go you remember. You're you're hungry. you're on your way home. You live in the city. So yeah you you know you could buy chick fillet burger king and mcdonald's it seems like every reporter and every analyst what went through the drive through on say about mack. Jones where do i mean. Here's what i mean or boy. Bill belichick knows what he's doing. Bill bella checks. I before any any body in boston calls in or rights. Me or whatever tweet. You don't need me to tell you i. I watched all bills national. Excuse me world championships with tom brady. And without him i get it but bill check is not the same coach today that he was back there because he doesn't have the best player of all time and i think i lazy. I think bill has gotten a little bit lazy not not interns working but in terms of cutting corners. You gotta son on the staffer. The last couple of years could could could his son get a job anywhere else though. He's got he's got a defensive coordinator right now. I don't think is up to nfl standards. And that's what i'm talking about. I'm not saying that he should you know. Ride off into the sunset. And bob kraft should throw them out the window. I i was just making an observation about the media just automatically assuming that just because bill belichick does something. It's right if bill ballot check had been doing what he had been doing. Previously he went in the middle of the draft where he would have been at the end of the draft normal. See the reason you know who. Paul finebaum is here on the max kellerman show. Espn radio and espn plus is because poor. Might say something that you disagree with. You might just disagree with him. Think he's crazy whatever but he has a reason for saying it and once he has determined that that's what it is he's got the guts to say. That's why you know who paul finebaum is. What a fine bomb. That was paul. Bill belichick has gotten lazy in his old age. Okay now let me present you with some evidence to the contrary and let's get into it. I look at the patriots season last year. And i see that bellichik really relies on preparation the opposite of laziness right but he didn't have a preseason and he they couldn't practice and he had a brand new quarterback brady made sure the cupboard was bear. No no jimmy g. forum. No real backup quarterback so he brings in kam a totally different kind of quarterback a guy coming off a catastrophic injury right and belgium tried to keep a competitive team around brady so they didn't have a lot of cap room so he gets a deal on cam in a cove it year coming off a catastrophic injury preseason no practice and then cam got covert the facilities. Got shut down. Less practice cannot recover from covid. Paul they came to plays away from going nine and seven in spite of all that. I don't know i feel like given the circumstances that was an impressive year last year's recently as last year and we're could have been better it seems to me. Is that belic able to prepare as much as he normally does. That's usually he's great advantage. But that would seem to me to be the opposite of lazy. Max we've been friends a long time. I respect everything you said until you said this with a straight face bill belichick which two plays away from going nine and seven. I mean you know. That's one of the most preposterous things. I think i've ever heard coming out of your mouth. Well thanks something you don't you don't talk about legends in the same way that losing coaches at the end of the year. They're getting fired you. You've heard this conversation a million times. It's yesterday's conference john. We were replays away. From from having a chance on the final sunday had we won and had we beaten the best team in the league to make. That'd be that's garbage. you know that. Come on max that doesn't belly. I think you're a good counterpoint. I think this is not. I'm saying this this is. This is not the same bill ballot check from ten years ago. This is a this is a bill dollar check. it's being buffing and and and and refined and shy for the wax museum. That's all i'm saying. Well i'll tell you what i i think. That's a good rejoinder that the idea that look. He's a fantastic. The all time greatest coach and all this. And why why is that okay. But but seven and nine even as was given all the things i just said like we give tomlin great credit for going eighty eight when you know. He didn't have rothlisburger. Well he didn't have brady was seventy nine. You're the greatest coach of all kinds of the year before won the super bowl. Remember oh no sorry. No that's right. They lost in the playoffs in the first round two years before he won the super bowl they lost the plot in the first round and uncharacteristically lost a must-win game to miami last game of the season so suddenly they didn't have a bye in the first round and simply head to win one home playoff game to get to the sec championship. A point. well taken. But i just like last year pull not only did they go seven and nine forget about plays away. They beat a lot of good teams like last year. They beat the dolphins and the bills and they have one more point that i made. It didn't get much attention. And i realized colic pros are different But i was doing a comparison between sabin and bella checks and at this point in savings career. What does he do. He doubles down on on on quality coaches he brings it he was a safeguard sarkissian. Maybe the best offense coordinator and football and he brings in bill o'brien Any brings in doug marrone to nfl head coaches who both failed that we're they were but they are assistant coaches and i. I just don't like when i've seen this too many times. Where when the when the old coach decides that bullet proof and he starts giving jobs to his family. I hate that work. And that's what that's what annoys me. The most and by the way i'm i've i've heard this from people in that organization and people can claim i don't know what i'm talking about. Welcome to it. I'm just telling you. I would say that on this show on this network if i didn't if i know you're you're very credible paul. Is you say that you're hearing things and you're noticing things and i think that's legitimate to ask. I mean that's what i like about you. You've you've made you make up your mind. You okay here. i'm gonna say it. I don't care what people think about it. And you're contrasting that with nick sabin who you believe hasn't changed before i let you go paul. What kind of season the patriots. Next year with mac jones i well personnel Hot heard bill. Say cam still the quarterback. He said that was a straight face. He was a special oscar for saying that the oscars have have come back on on. Abc for one more moment to build that honorary oscar. I don't think they're going to be that great. I think they'll have a season last year and then a year from now when we're having a conversation about bill future you won't be able to come back and say well he. Did you know it was a code here paul..

"The the bears get their man and they had to move up to do it and they had to do it. And the giants had to take the deal. I fourth and a fifth and then mack jones falls to bill belichick. He gets his man and he didn't even have to lift a finger to get him. You just had to catch him as he fell to him. I think that mack jones is set up as a rookie. Better than any one of these other quarterbacks. Because i don't believe trae. Lance is going to be given the job over jimmy g. because i think they're trying to win the super bowl right now. I don't think you can do it with a rookie quarterback. I don't think the bears are set up to win right now because they don't have an offensive line. You can go down. Trevor lawrence clinton invested a running back in the first round there. There are a long ways away and then finally. Zack wilson. the jets at a great first round. But they're not ready to win. They're in a competitive division. Now but i look at mack. Jones ryan seven nine two plays away from nine and seven the patriots right. They got an offensive. They got defense. They signed a bunch of guys who aren't spectacular meat and potatoes. Move the sticks kinda guys right and with talent tight ends the whole thing and mack jones from sabin to bella chick reads the defenses. Gets the ball where it needs to be doesn't need to put up big numbers in order to be considered a success. I think he set up. What do you think about. Mack jones on the patriots. I think it's the right spot for him. I think it's a good spot. And you know sometimes sometimes guys say things and you don't necessarily believe it right because if you're mac jones and you could have went three overall takale shanahan san francisco who everybody feels is is the best place to succeed for whatever quarterback in his draft. You think you want to go there when mack jones Walked up to the podium faster than he ran his forty and he says this is where i always wanted to go. I believe i don't think he was lying. I think he truly in his intelligence understood that that was the best place for them that that was a place that was never gonna wish she was mobile. That was a place that was never gonna wish she could run our peos. They were going to accept. Tim love him and build around him for who he. And now you have jonnu. Smith smith you have hunter henry nossa or you have kendrick bourne and they know every week we can morph into what we need because mac jones can handle it mentally now. I do think his play is going to be predicated on whether or not cam. Newton is where he was very early on in the season last year or after. He came back from kobe. And if cam newton is not playing at a high enough level i believe in mack jones becomes the starter and i agree with you max with the way that this team is set up in a seventeen game season with magazines. Baking win ten eleven. Maybe on upside of twelve games. And that's an amazing years year. They're probably put you in the play offs. And that's a huge success not only for the patriots but for mac joe and i think you made the best point ryan and we gotta go but i think you made the best point when you said look basically if mack jones goes to the niners. He's known as the guy what we traded up to the third pick for you and he could even be a really good quarterback win a bunch of games but never be an all pro level guy and niners fifth people would complain but having fallen fifteenth to the patriots. He's just got a captain. A ship to wins right and everyone's psyched to see him. I totally agree with that analysis. That was ryan clark. Ladies and gentlemen. Apparently we don't say hello or goodbye because raj just ruthlessly cuts people off and doesn't tell me when they're on the line and that was breaking moves with the spn nfl analyst. ryan clark. You know what's great. The football offseason coaches getting hired players getting traded free agents moving to new cities. It's honestly such an exciting time. And if you want to hire people that you're really excited about. There's only one place to go ziprecruiter dot com slash max. Ziprecruiter makes finding winning candidates fast and easy. That's because they get out there and hustle for you. I when you post a job on.

Is New England Patriots GM Bill Belichick in the hot seat?

"Bill belichick may be the most winningest coach in the nfl. But after the patriots finished last season with a losing record. While you know at the same time seeing mr tom brady capturing number seven with the buffs former. Nfl linebacker lavar. Arrington says he believes now must prove he can win without brady saying quote. That seat is warmer. Bill belichick in that might sound crazy for some people but bill. Belichick has to have a good season this year. And you know why because there are whispers. It was tom it was always. Tom couldn't have been anything else. But tom and bill belichick has to show before he gets too far away from tom. Brady leaving that. It was not tom brady that it was in fact and indeed. The system of bill belichick built in new

Robert Kraft Gives Honest Assessment of Patriots Drafting

"Heard from Robert Kraft yesterday was a man who was completely honest about where the the team is in a lot of different areas. I wouldn't will get into this but I don't think his quarterback comments were Something to really weigh in heavily on but I do think that overall I mean him talking about, you know, the draft specifically the personality just sound thrilled with having to Shell out as much money as he did and he basically admitted that the only reason they had to do that cuz they didn't draft well in recent years and and he committed what a lot of us have said where it's not sustainable to do that. You need the draft to be the lifeblood of your team so that you can do other things like you can't just every three years song ten free agents. It just it it's probably not going to happen be it's not economically feasible. And so I thought it was very refreshing for Robert to to talk to the assemblage yesterday and and really be honest and I think you know in judging from the comments at Boston Sports Journal com from my column off of this press conference wage. Think on a whole I thought the Patriots the Patriots fans reacted very well to it that are really like, okay. Well, at least now we know that the person in charge realizes is a isn't happy about it called last season horrible and B thinks that the team has made correction and is moving in the right direction. That's all anybody ever wanted to to hear from anybody at at one page place and they heard it from Craft and I think it made Patriot Nation breathe a little bit easier. Not that they weren't confident in Bill Belichick rebounding in any event, but I just think it reinforced that. All right. Well, we're still the Patriots thought we had a we had an off-year didn't go well we're going to correct things were going to get things back on track.

Top 10 players signed by Patriots

"Talk about the Patriots. The the Patriots grabbed everybody's attention by making move after move after move after move. Like we're watching it over agency going off. How many people are going to bring in its kind of unbelievable how many starters they've added? And so I count they added ten players that I think are very very significant to their team next year. In fact, I would say pretty clearly the Patriots are back and a lot of people saw this coming, you know, but they are going to be a force in the NFL next year here is my list my nerdy list of the ten players the top players. They added that are very significant to their roster next year. The first two are massive. It will reshape the entire Patriots offense. They added two tight ends Johnny Smith and Ed Hunter Henry. To Johnny Smith signed from Tennessee. He signed a four year deal worth up to fifty million dollars. That's Thirty one point two five million dollars guaranteed and he's only twenty-four years old. So that's Monday. That's a really gigantic Marquis franchise player. He cited the reason why it came to New England is cuz he loves Bill Belichick. He's got great respect for him. And I want to point out of all the everybody I'm about to talk about these shows to be in New England Bill Belichick got his kind of guys who sought out New England wanted to be there and wanted to work hard and win a Superbowl. I think it matters. It's very very exciting. These are not with Josh Gordon's or what's the other example Phillip Dorsett who they made a move for and they're not really like that. You think they fit they don't work out know. These are guys who all chose to be in New England who wanted to win a Superbowl. I really want to win a Superbowl. These guys went out of their way to be New England now the other tight and they brought in With twenty-six-year-old tight end Hunter Henry from the LA Chargers got a three-year deal twenty-five million dollars guaranteed. It's worth up to thirty seven point five million dollars total if he meets all those incentives. They also added two wide receivers the Patriots brought in Nelson agholor to a you got a two year twenty six million dollar contract East twelve years old. Now a lot of people do not like this move and I I get it Nelson agholor is not the most flashy player in the NFL but I think if it's very well with Cam Newton, he's good at he's not going up and getting the ball. He's got good hands did some stuff of the Raiders that I think deserves your attention go watch what he did with the Raiders and I just I'm like, huh a lot of good plays. Okay. I understand. I see the potential Bill Belichick and the Patriots would see and Nelson agholor go will give the guy a good contract, especially considering the Patriots have like our desolate at wide receiver. They need help. They got home. Who is awesome but he can't do everything by himself from the slot. They have n'keal Harry who n'keal Harry. I I think he's going to pop. I think he's going to progress and keep getting better. But she's not a number one right now. So on top of the page where it's also added Kendrick Bourne guy from my local area actually went to Eastern Washington University 25 years old. He's coming from the San Francisco 49ers. He got a three year deal worth twenty two point five million dollars. Now another thing the Patriots did they also added they signed Center Ted carriages and they traded for tackle Trent Brown. So this is the new Patriots offense right now. They've receivers Nelson agholor, Julian Edelman Kendrick born and kill hair is its own nuclear Aguilera. I'm doing my best. It's a hard game to say. They also have Sony Michelle running backs for any receivers Sony Michelle at running back and improved offensive line. Cam Newton at quarterback who I get why people doubt Cam? He's a former NFL MVP and with when you put cams Talent with a lot of weapons including two outstanding tight ends Hunter Henry Smith, right man. I'll tell you what I look at the Patriots offense and think two things immediately number one. Everything is going to run through their brand new Titans. Their entire offense now is probably going to drive down the seams of the field right up the middle. They're going to use our tents heavily lot of play-action again. I am scheme wise things will look a lot like the page words did back in the day when they had drunk and Aaron Hernandez together to start tight ends. Now number two. I feel very very confident with Cam Newton as the Patriots quarterback and it surprised me but I want to remind you that two years ago. Tom Brady was the page word starting quarterback and did basically nothing and the reason was there were no weapons there. He kept running into the same brick wall. His receivers weren't good enough. So, how can I think you and I would both agree. I like Cam Newton Tom Brady's a better quarterback than Cam Newton. So my point is if Tom Brady couldn't make it work with New England's roster. How was Cam Newton supposed to succeed? He was set up to fail will now Cam Newton's being given weapons is being set up to do. Well, I'm excited man. He's a former NFL MVP, he's hungry. I I personally believe Cam Newton's going to have an awesome year and it really is going to make extended one-year deal with like it was like three and a half million dollars with a bunch of incentives. I honestly think we're gonna look back at his contract at the end of next year and go. Can you believe the deal they got on Camden he played so well for no money. I really think he's he's a guy who can didn't play well enough wage. Last year to earn a new gigantic contract. So he's going to have to show what he can do this year and maybe earn more money next year but I think cam is poised to do very very well and make a lot of money and win a lot of games in New England

Seattle Seahawks Today: Latest Rumors On A Russell Wilson Trade

"Originally or a few a few weeks ago russell. Wilson's camp released some information that he was unhappy in seattle. They have not formally requested a trade but it seems like the relationship has some conflict there. he has a no trade clause in his contract. There were specific exemptions from four. Team's the cowboys. The saints the bears and las vegas after dak prescott signed is extent like talked about and the raiders recently have back derek carr. They've given their full support. They they wanna move forward their cars. So that really leaves the saints and the bears as the final two candidates for possibly getting russell wilson this offseason so saints are always in salary cap trouble From what. I've learned about the salary cap they can. They ended up being able to just move money around when they need to. But they're always close to reaching that point so they're always during the cat but it seems unlikely that they will be able to make a move for quarterback this price in this caliber. So when you re comes down to it. The bears like the front runners as the most desperate team. Four quarterback if you've watched the nfl shares have always had quarterback issues. They've been in quarterback hell so to speak for the past two decades and russell. Wilson could come in and immediately fix that so the bears are desperate. And i see the bears as the front running candidate to lead russell wilson or land russell. Wilson this offseason. So when did all this start with russell. wilson is come out of nowhere I would say to myself when i first saw. Russell wilson wants out. I was shocked. But although it's not that cut and dry comes down to russell wilson. Mp carol's relationship. So they've won a superbowl. They made playoffs made. They made the playoffs. Eight times in the last nine seasons which is absurd. It's absurd to think there was wasn't been playing in the nfl for the last nine seasons But he's been assault as they come. He's true winner. he goes to the playoffs. he's clutch and i see. The situation is very similar to the tom. Brady situation new england. You had tom brady and bill play for all those years. Winning all those super bowls and talk. Although tom brady wasn't playing up to his level he wasn't playing bad and they had that loss to the titans of the playoffs. And i think he just had those two egos bill. Belichick and tom brady kind of going at each other. And they've they've finally kind of just tired of that relationship and they wanted to move on. They wanted to start. Something new. And when quarterbacks are with the head coach for so long things start to take a turn for the worst so. I'm not sure if that's exactly what's happening with p carroll and russell wilson but there are a lot of similarities there so it was reported in week. Eleven of the season. That wilson stormed out of an offensive meeting when he was trying to offer insight as to what he wanted done as on a bit done for protection standpoint and so that was the first sign the second sign is just overall. He's been getting hit way. Too much. says he's sacked. He's been three hundred ninety four times since entering the league which is on pace to be the most sat quarterback of all time which is pretty insane when you consider how well he's played and he's just been under duress running for his life literally for the last his whole career and so seattle hasn't found a way to kind of sure up that protection for him. I think that's starting to get frustrating as well. So but more specifically in two thousand twenty. He had a week nine loss to the bills. This was a defining moment for this offense offense because after that moment. Russell wilson had started to throw a lot of turnovers making a lot of risky plays they lose to the bills. The seahawks kind of started to scale the offense back like i said to limit turnovers and did not perform well for the rest of the season so before that game. They were top. Three league based on expected points added per play. They were the number three the top three leak and then after that game from from weeknight on they felt a number eighteen the remainder of the season. So that's a huge huge drop off so they really sputtered down the stretch. They were able to win games and make the playoffs through to their defense. Kind of picking picking up. Their play was weird. Their offense was so good in the beginning the defense awful and he kind of flipped that latter half of the year but he's also getting hit It doesn't seem to meet on their offensive loss of beat philosophy and he. He's definitely voiced that he wants more of a say. In the franchise direction as the franchise quarterback so all these things culminating into one is. Where would he end up.

Cam Newton Re-Signing With Boston's Patriots: Making Sense Of The Move

"I do wanna move to the quarterback news today tony because bill ballot check and cam. Newton have apparently decided to run it back next season with the patriots agreeing to terms with newton on a one year. Deal with up to fourteen million dollars. Newton did struggle down the stretch famously. Last season tony. So does this move makes sense to you. It's so charitable that you'd say he struggled down the stretch. He struggled from the moment he got in there. He had twelve rushing touchdowns which is wonderful but he had eight passing touchdowns and ten interceptions. I want to get the stats right. Here he was. I mean he couldn't throw downfield. He was twenty eighth in passing rating and he was deadliest in yards per game. And so you asked me. Does it make sense. And i'm going to tell you declarative in affirmatively. It does make sense because he's a professional quarterback right and he took responsible. He was terrible last year. He couldn't throw it but he took responsibility after every loss. He said this is my fault. He was a leader. The other players revered him as a leader. The coaching staff loved him as leader. Belichick him. Personally the worst that can happen problem is that he becomes a backup. And would you trust your team to the backup cam newton after all these years. Yes you would. It does feel like the contract. You give to maybe charitably again. A high end. Backup tony because look the deal as it is six billion dollars again or wrapped up in incentives and honors and playoff achievement. So a lot of this really does hinge on how we actually plays in real time but the other thing about this. That clear is that this is just mr right now for bill belichick. This is not mr right. They're going to go and look around. And there is a phrase that i think of another piece of wisdom from someone else that by the way describes nothing about my own personal life or philosophies but you are as faithful as your options. What some wise men believe bill. Belichick is faithful to cam newton right now because there aren't options otherwise at that price but is it going to look at the draft and say. Can we get another quarterback absolutely. Oh he'll look at the draft. And maybe mack jones will be there and maybe trade lance will be there and he'll maybe everybody talks about him requiring jimmy garoppolo very when he's not having broken bones but he has broken bones a lot you. It is at the moment to marriage of convenience. But i will say three things. One cam had no training camp last year none too. He actually had toronto virus himself and might have been in a depleted physical condition. And three m. it's it's just hard for me to believe that he would be this bad again. I you know. I got to be a little bit better but again again. My point would be if you were stuck with cam. Newton that's like being stuck with twenty five other backups. This guy who was the mvp at one point and on muscle memory alone. He could probably make something happen. Maybe maybe i'm being naive about this. I don't

What the Trent Brown trade tells us about Bill Belichick’s thinking

"Notable today trent brown. The you know pro bowl top you know. Left tackle offensive tackle in the entire. Nfl when the top guys on they traded him back to the patriots this interesting he was unhappy clearly The raiders were unhappy clearly because he's barely played so even while the raiders had like this dominant offense align at times. Trent brown was even playing for them. Sometimes you know last year. I feel like he barely played due to injuries and everything else. So the raiders weren't appreciate the effort. They felt like he could push through some of that probably. They felt like he was out of shape. You know Might may i came out and said that that when he's in shape and healthy is one of the best hackles ofo ball when he's not he's no good for you so My assumption is my guess of. I had to predict out. Trent brown will be entirely healthy next year. Because he's a patriot now and so he will not do injury concerns. He won't have all these issues because he's happy because he thinks he's on a winning team. No surprise surprise. Trent brown the patriots wearing good last year. The patriots. don't even have a quarterback sir. They don't if he can't come back. That's great but bro. You don't even know your protection. You don't even know how this even the plow because they didn't play out so hot last year now another get a lot of players back that You know took a year off because of covid. I fully assume. Bill belichick is anna. Start to repair this team. The best he can But you know the they're left guard go. I believe they decided to franchise tag him. That'll be interesting. But this always you know as a raiders fan. This kind of stuff always annoys me because players leave the traded with ever. They go to another team. Take the pay cut because he was getting paid. More with the raiders. That was annoys move. Obviously the raiders always play pay. You know a bonus they always have to pay up compared to other teams especially a successful team like the patriots so right so okay that comes with the territory. Donate to play the game. I respect that. And then you know. I hate when these guys on twitter and they started. Tweet tweeting my. They're so happy so excited. It gives me those antonio brown vibes when he left the raiders. So yeah that's it's frustrating but listen term row with some non baloch patriots at which But it's raiders all

Jimmy Garoppolo Is Reportedly ‘Plan A’ For Patriots At Quarterback

"So much has been made about the potential of a reunion between jimmy g. and bill be in new england. The forty nine. A quarterback is under contract for two more seasons but new england needs a quarterback and they may look to trade for garappolo that is according to a very interesting piece. That are mike. Reese put together over the weekend who covers the patriots for so well and he gets up with us earlier today. Mike for those who did not read. It gives us a sense of your thinking on the possibilities. Here of jimmy g. Coming back to foxborough so good morning green. I would say as a reporter covering the team there so much secrecy around the patriots quarterback plans so i was asking myself the question. What do i know for fact and for fact. What i know is that the patriots bill. Belichick he holds jimmy garoppolo in such high regard. And it's one thing for me to say it. But i could actually show it to you. I mean there was a picture after the forty niners handed the patriots their worst home loss in two decades under bill belichick. We're bill belichick. Steve on the field to talk with jimmy garoppolo and josh mcdaniels. The offensive coordinator was standing nearby for his. Turn to talk to jimmy garoppolo. So the point. Is this screening. If the patriots believe jimmy garoppolo is their plan a and the big gap to plan b. Now is the time for them to at least test. The forty niners commitment to jimmy g. and so then. That begets the obvious next question which is if they do decide to your point that that's what they wanna do. How do they get it done. Well got to give credit to michael lombardi. The longtime nfl front office man who was here with the patriots when the patriots drafted garoppolo in two thousand and fourteen on his podcast. The gm shuffle. He said how about sam darnold going from the jets to the forty niners who in turn with then trade jimmy garoppolo in a situation controlled by garoppolo. 'cause he has a no trade clause and you saw the respect. There was mutual between the patriots and garoppolo. Well you'd think jimmy might like the idea of a homecoming in that scenario greenie. That could work for everyone. The forty niners would pick up a lot of cap space in that exchange. The patriots would get their quarterback through they respect so much in the jets. Your jets would probably take a quarterback at number two which might be their preference anyway.

Greg Cosell breaks down Patriots QB candidates

"Pleased to welcome in Greg Cosell. Everybody knows over forty years and NFL films the guru over various the matchup show. You know, he's he's seen it all he's done it all he's and in fact, he's been one of my mentors over the years. He's welcomed me in the NFL films to watch wage different film with different people. I think he's one of the most knowledgeable people around the NFL in terms of film and I love the way he analyzes things in in fact listening to him off of recenters me in terms of I need to look at things a little bit more at a distance Greg. Thanks for joining us. I really appreciate it Greg. It's my pleasure to put a while my friend. It has been a while back, but I wanted to get you in on this and you're actually the first outside guess that I've had on my podcasts and you know, obviously the Patriots are at a weird time in the Their existence at least since Bill Belichick has been there with with Tom Brady gone and what they went through last year with Cam Newton. So they are obviously looking for their next quarterback and and that could go wrong in a variety of different ways. And I wanted to have you on just to get sort of your opinion what you've seen how you think things fit with the Patriots in terms of guys that are available right now veterans and also some of the Practical quarterback so but first I want to start with let's go back to this past season. I don't know how much you watch the Patriots considering they fell off a map there about this way of it took. Okay. So I just wanted to get your general impressions of the Patriots offense first year without Tom Brady Cam Newton in there. Just what did you see? What did you think of cams faith? And and why did you think things didn't go great for the Patriots offense last year, you know the best way I can answer that is just with what the film showed because I don't know Greg is you know the game Ovation, you know, I'm certainly not there. I don't know what's in Bill Belichick's head, but they played as if they did not want the passing game to be a big factor in their offense. Now, I'm not going to sit here and say that's Cam Newton. Like I said, I don't know the reasoning behind it. But we know in a league in which the passing game is clearly more predominant with the exception of maybe two or three teenage more predominant that the running game and clearly more so that the Patriots were not one of those teams. They were numerous games that I watched on tape where I felt watching the tape that they don't really want to throw the ball very much. So again, I can't speak to the reason why but we know in today's NFL it's hard to win a thousand up a lot of points playing that way. In in no question, I one thing I wanted to know I certainly have my opinion from watching them over the years and no one expected Cam Newton to come in and be Tom Brady at the line of scrimmage before the snap. But God, how did it appear to you that the Patriots were limited and what they did as far as checks audibles things like that that we would have seen them do in the past. I would say that's fair. You know, it's always hard to know so many people's you know on Twitter social media think they know what a quarterbacks doing at the line of scrimmage. I'm not that smart Greg. I do not know what the quarterbacks doing at the line of scrimmage just because I hear him yell out a few words. So, you know it appeared to be the case that they did less at the line of scrimmage cuz certainly one of the things that God has made Tom Brady great and there's obviously many things but one of the things that I always thought made him great was he won a large percentage of the Downs before the ball was snapped off. I never got the sense that that was Cam Newton's game even in Carolina, which doesn't mean he never did that. Of course every Quarterback does That to some degree but I thought that that was one of the the key components of Tom Brady's game. So my sense is they did not do quite as much of that this year. But then again, I don't think their offense had as many elements to age. Which goes back to my initial point I can't speak to why that was the case, but it didn't strike me that it has as many elements to it. When cam did throw the ball or when he went back to past? How long do you think he did as a whole on the season as far as you know, making the right read and also, you know, just the way he threw the ball. I think he was pretty much the cam that he's always been I think he's always been a little bit erratic. I think he's streaky. I think he'll miss throws that are relatively routine that he should make an make some throws and you go. Wow that guy can really throw it. I think that's the way he's been much of his career. He's always had some scattershot Tendencies and he'll miss some so I think that he was really no different this year than he has been in previous years. He obviously through the ball less than he had in previous years with the exception of a couple of games. It was not an offense. Other than the Running part of it, it was not really an offensive built around him throwing the football. Yeah,

What Comes Next for Kim Kardashian as She Navigates Her Future Amid Kanye West Divorce

"Can we say who do we. Think is the gonna come out as the winner of the kim and kanye divorce. There's no real winners in divorce. Of course of course. That's what sad is a winner of the bill belichick. Tom brady divorce now. It's true that is true. There's clearly I think it is interesting because when when they started getting married like is one of the greatest artists of all time. These kim kardashian. And i do think like her star wrote so much. Yeah in his didn't over the time and that part of that is the kardashian. Pr machine keep themselves on top. That like. I do think she's coming out on here. I agree i agree. I think kim up on you down. Yeah she has the most support for sure like just like you say a pr wise. She's gonna flip this into some money in be. Yeah she's also it'd be at a write her book and tell her story about being married to kanye west and stuff so a lot of money coming that way but also. I'm very proud of congress. He had a pre-nup so you know he was able to protect themselves. Thirty -ironically probably move. Because now she has more money than him for sure for eight. I think he was like when they were buying stuff. He was spending the money out years but also like she's she's gone to the moon since they since they started. I asked to do a lot of research on this. I think they're both worth over a billion dollars So there's really they have like four forbes or fortune one of those magazines did like a deep dive in the county's finances and said he's not a billionaire recently but he has like seven hundred million. He doesn't need a handout. From the three of us you know will this divorce be a blow to his political career. had like no votes in the election really blew by like it was the big story for a day. We chester went over this on defense he got a shockingly low number of votes And he was losing to third. The third party candidates. You've never heard of a lot of states wasn't on the ballot. Is that if you're going in there. And you're like i hate trump but i i also managed to invite in like. Wouldn't you rather vote for kanye then. I don't think than anybody was thinking that. Yeah absolutely no. We'll nobody thought that because he didn't get more than like five thousand votes in almost any state It's a fair assessment. Considering our former president was a reality tv star as well so you know maybe that was brought out a new level of you know fandome for voting you know like all the tv stars are going to get behind the kardashians. Are they going to get behind trump.

Why 10 Super Bowl Appearances Won't Satisfy Tom Brady

"Hey thanks for joining me man. Good to be here. Seth wicker sham is a senior writer at espn and he's covered. Tom brady since his rookie year in the nfl. Words with you. Seth you are. Espn's resident. tom. Brady you've been covering brady for nearly twenty years. I believe at this point. You're the first person to report. That brady was looking for a way out of new england back when that was on thinkable and honestly kind of dangerous to suggest in the boston area. But your piece out. Today ahead of. Tom brady's tenth super bowl in tampa bay with the buccaneers. It actually begins a decade ago back in new england. What happened a couple years ago. I was in tom. Brady's house and we were in his living room and he was telling a funny story about bill belichick. It was a saturday morning meeting before a game against new york. Jets and bella. Check was watching film of mark sanchez. Running out of the pocket rolling to his right players it is heels and he had a wide open receiver about sixty yards downfield on the opposite hash. So that's an almost impossible. Throw to attempt. I mean few quarterbacks ever would try that throw even fewer would complete it and the way that brady told it to me. That ballot check was just watching the play unfold and he was like just throw it. He's wide open. Why isn't sanchez. Throwing the ball and brady's little thought bubble was hilarious because he was thinking. I would never even attempt that throw. Do you have any idea how i would look in. Tried to throw that ball. And meanwhile checks just like can't get even more open. He can't get more open. Just throw it in. The way that brady explained to me later was very interesting because he said i see each play within my limits at the time. I didn't really see the significance in that statement. But when you watch. Tom brady now aged forty three years old and the entire sporting world asking how. He's done it how he's been able to get another team to the super bowl. I looked back at that statement. And i found a lot of answers in it was brady frustrated with ballot check. Invalid check suggested as much. I wanna get deeper into. Brady's thought bubble there. I think he thought it was hilarious. He he saw it as a defensive coach who had no bearing on the reality of how difficulties throw that ball. He wasn't frustrated with ballot check. He was like a little amazed that bella check thought that that type of pass would be so easy i mean. That's that's a john elway throw. That's josh allen throw mahomes through. There's very few people who could ever even try that and here. Ballot check was talking about mark sanchez. Saying he's not going to get more open than that. Just throw the ball. As kind of an indictment on the quarterback where brady saw it as you know something that was hard to believe. Couldn't believe that that his coach thought that a throw like that with that easy. And when you look at tom brady look at the arc of his career. He's someone who's kind of always understood his limits and by understanding them so well he's found a way to transcend them so those limits that he has this keen understanding of and that being this superpower. It is something that we can. Plainly see in contrast to josh allen and john elway and patrick mahomes and lamar jackson. These absurd physical talents. And that's been clear set ever since we saw brady with shirt off to be honest at the combine in two thousand but because he is also the greatest of all time without real serious dispute at this point playing more super bowls than anyone ever by far at to ask if you fully buy his explanation that that superpower is in fact and understanding of his own limitations. At first i didn't. And i remember. I was once in his house in two thousand thirteen back when we thought he was getting old. 'cause he was going to be thirty seven when the season started. And you know he can't play forever and he said something really interesting. He said there's nothing that will be able to replace football. And hopefully it gets to appoint where there is when i retire in nine ten years and he said it so offhandedly and so smooth that it was it went right over my head. It was a shot across the bow. Here was a declaration to play until he was aged forty five and he someone who has made a mockery of conventional wisdom. And so i thought there is no way when he said that that he was someone who learned how to play football within the scope of his own limitations. But as you watch him play you actually see it on the field. And i think that it helps define him as a football player because he can't do what aaron rodgers does. He can't do it. Patrick mahomes does these sort of amazing acrobatic throws but what he can do and what he's always been able to do is pick apart a defense and bleed teams to death. And i think that that's what he was getting at when he talks about playing within his own limits because he's so deadly an accurate when he throws short.

Tom Brady Praises Bill Belichick: ‘Could Never Have Accomplished The Things In My Career Without His Support’

"Year. Another super bowl for tampa. Tom brady the tenth of his career. But of course it's the first as a buccaneer. The first without bill belichick brady talked about the impact that had on his career at media. Day yesterday and i certainly could never have accomplished things in my career without his support in his teachings and in critical coach and mentor for me. I mean i've always had a great relationship rebel by Ever since i got two bucks there just hasn't been any contact at all so there were those and then there's this former teammate. Danny danny amendola did not seeing the same praises about bill. That brady did quite the opposite. Here's what he said when you see patriot way in a in. The dictionary is going to have tom. Brady's name next to it. None of those coaches learning passes. They got guys in the right position because they watch a lot of film and they spend all their time. But tom brady. Is the patriot way. And that's and that's the reason. Why in the super bowl right now in the patriots aren't that is what he said. Jeff saturday what is your initial reaction to danny. Amendola dollas high. That's what my my reaction. I'll know what happened to them on the where he's living. I know what he's doing in this offseason but to away those championships and give them all to tom. Brady is a little bit silly. I'm not sure it was tom. Brady on the field of malcolm. Butler made the interception to. Oh sorry he wasn't there riley. Yeah it took an entire football team. Listen this is an and questioned. It was belichick and tom brady is the reason they were so successful. If you look at this entire organization he built it. Those defense has. I personally played when they held our office at three points. The greatest show on turf. They hold them down. I mean look at how many games they have won that you need a great quarterback absolutely you need a great staff all those hours. Amador's talking about being there. There is a reason that team won so many games and it wasn't because of one person. It was because of the couple the relationship of check and brady. That's why they were the gold standard for the nfl for all those years. Look there's been a lot of reaction to this marcus reasonably speaking. You could have a conversation about whether the coaching is more important or the players are more important. That could be in any circumstance. That's a reasonable discussion to have to use it to diminish what bellichik has accomplished. I think is what is created a lot of people's problems you want to say. The quarterback is more important. The coach fine. That seems like a reasonable opinion but to use it to try and take anything away. Marcus from what bill belichick has accomplished is what i think is rubbing a lot of people the wrong way.

"Does brady's that. He made a super bowl this year in his first year. In a new system in tampa. Does this prove that. He was the main factor in the patriots dynasty. And i'm not saying. I didn't have a ton to do with. He's obviously a great coach. But if everybody debates between the two is say brady was more responsible but of the two of them than bella. Check this seal it or do you feel different. Did you read having dollas quote. Yeah we decided place at the patriots way is really tom. Brady's way i've in thirteen of course salads and and anyway don't pay. I think there's reason though for what amendola is kinda tongue-in-cheek but think about you know. He wasn't doing this until he got tom. Brady and i think. Tom brady learned a lot from bill belichick and he he did. He said that today he said today that i give so much credit to bella. Check for teaching me so many different things but the dry that tom brady has is implemented throughout the whole organization especially the players and the play on the field. And you didn't see that this year in the same token and i think that is a you know and i'm not gonna give you know Tom brady all the credit bill. Belichick does take some of that credit but players make the system. Come alive and when you have players like tom brady. Who's a generational type player. He does make a difference and he wants everything to be a certain way and he's gonna demand from his players to play a certain way to be a certain way in the locker room and on the field and it showed it show when he was with with new england and it showed this year being

Lake Erie's Revenge: The Cleveland Browns Date With AFC Destiny

"Thanks for joining me. Man going to be on with ov pablo jake. Trotter covers the cleveland browns for espn and before that you reported on the big twelve and followed baker mayfield's meteoric rise. So you live in cleveland. I live in cleveland. I live about five miles away from the browns training facility in berea. Ooh so listen you are right at the heart of everything you cover the browns. I want to understand what does winning this first. Playoff game. twenty six years doing it against is truly hated. Enemy in the pittsburgh steelers. What does it do for a city after two decades of being like generally humiliated. How would you describe the energy. Jake in cleveland right now. Yeah i would describe it as one of the greatest moments in the history of the city. And i'm not just talking about football. I'm talking about all moments. If you talk to people who grew up your they would say that sunday one of the happiest days of their lives sunday night after that win you could hear fireworks going off around cleveland. I don't know who has fireworks in the middle of january but people have them. Apparently people were driving up and down. Their streets warns it was a very exciting night. For cleveland and one that they've been waiting for for twenty six years and really forever considering how dominated they have been by the steelers over the years. Yes i'm looking at a list of things. Actually jake that happened in nineteen ninety four when the browns won their last playoff game. Turns out the number one on the billboard charts. Was the sign by ace of base. Is that all sound right to you. In terms of how did all of this has been feeling. Yeah i've been doing this all year checking what songs were number one at a time. The browns headache milestone. I know that when they were foreign one for the first time since nineteen ninety. Four when bill belichick was still the head coach. That boys to men actually had the number one song on the billboard. Hot one hundred. That kind of gives you a little context of how long it's been since the browns were at this point. I mean they're starting quarterback for example wasn't even alive to rewind to a little bit more recently the week leading up to this playoff win over the steelers it was. I don't even know how to explain it. Other than just like total chaos. Breaking news into i ate out of cleveland browns coach. Kevin stefanski has tested positive for covid. Nineteen according to our adam schefter to other coaches and players dealing with kobe related issues. They're closing their facilities fellas. They ultimately competed with kevin stefanski in his basement. Watching the game not on the sidelines. So what is this week been like as it relates to cove it. They had a practice on wednesday which was weird to see because they haven't had a practice or very many of them not even just last week for the last couple of weeks. I mean go back to the game in week. Sixteen when they traveled to play the jets. They had to delay their flight because they had a positive test from one of their players. Then they had to put their entire receiving core as high risk close contacts on the reserve covid nineteen list. They finally get to newark. They stay the night there. They were not able to do a walk through before leaving on saturday so they held a walk through on the fifth floor. The parking garage that morning adjacent to their hotel really from that moment until now it is been total. Chaos i mean they have had almost every single day since then. Something chaotic happen where they'd had to adjust. They went the entire week last week. Almost without a practice until getting one in friday they finally got kevin stefanski their head coach back in the building on thursday. It has been a bizarre couple of weeks. But to this team's credit into kevin's stefanski credit. They have never panicked. They have never felt sorry for themselves and they have been able to overcome it. Which is the most impressive thing. When this team given their lack of success in the past in the way as they've come together their ability to overcome different curve balls that have been thrown their way.

"Head head coach coach Bill Bill Belichick Belichick will will not not be be accepting accepting the the presidential presidential Medal Medal of of Freedom Freedom in in Washington Washington this this week. week. Patriots head coach Bill Belichick says no thinks he made the announcement by releasing this statement that reads in part recently, I was offered the opportunity to receive the presidential medal of Freedom, which I was flattered by out of respect for what the honor represents an admiration for prior recipients. Subsequently, the tragic events of last week occurred and the decision has been made not to move forward with the award. The rejection puts to rest days of speculation and chatter from fans and Fox borrow. He shouldn't take it. You know, it's what this country is going through. "I to make the playoffs right. The ohio state buckeyes or eleven to win dollar. So they're huge favorites huge favorites. You got about eleven to win a dollar to make the playoffs. Alabama sam thing eleven wins a dollar. The third favorite with one loss clemson. So what we're saying is the odds are telling us if clemson beats notre dame in the acc championship therein. Does anyone see any scenario that they're not in in that case. No no no right so we're pretty much what we're saying. This clemson's odds are about the same as they're going to be over notre dame minus four eighty or. So yes. okay. So don't be as al michaels will say less. Anyone be confused. Clemson just needs to win out. Here's where it gets interesting. The fourth favor. And they're the only other minus money favor notre dame it's almost minus three hundred miles to eighties the price. So you only get if you bet three bucks. You only get a dollar if notre dame went so really what we're saying is though it's not a sure thing if notre dame loses these author town as therein to as long as they don't lose another game if they lose clemson that sounds boring and i don't think it's true i would like maybe looked bad against notre dame here i would too because i don't think it's true either because they're only four and a half five point favorite this week so you're talking about a team that's not quite a pick em game but not a huge against at north carolina. Okay so i think it was two ways to question notre dame one is. They might lose a game before clemson this week. Okay but also let's say let's they win and win and win and lose how many games they often they lose the clemson. Are we sure that the i team in the history of the college playoffs to lose a championship game and make the playoffs. We'll be notre dame who is our interlopers who are part time participants in this conference. I'm not one hundred percent. Sure especially if cincinnati and byu could get that game scheduled to play each other and get a fourteenth win. Maybe what do you think john is about notre dame specifically if they lose to clemson if they lose a close game to clemson get blown out. I could see see them getting left out so you think of all. The teams has ever lost a championship game. The best one is notre dame fan. No i just think this year and the way that it's played out is a different is a different situation now. That is interesting. Because i'm gonna make the following case to you. Jonas that this year be the least likely you get a loser in a championship. Game making the playoffs. And here's why oregon has a path. Cincinnati has a path. Byu has usc has a path. So matt give me an example of whichever one you want. There of how the path you see for these teams sure so florida simply has to go to the win out. Go to the sec. Title game beat alabama. And you got to yet because then you'll have to sec teams in okay. Now that's interesting that they take dame spot the fact that they're plus two twenty five only florida so hundred twenty to twenty five. They won't have that good odds against alabama in the championship game. This there's a chance for two gets even if they lose alabama. It seems like a small chance but a lot of things would have to happen. And i'm not sure the odds are going to be that much greater in the sec. Which feeling with the line would be against alabama neutral a seven. Okay okay all right. So how does cincinnati. Cincinnati is plus five fifty. Yep i almost six to one. How do they get in florida. Loses to alabama in the championship. Get that gets shack and loss. Notre dame gets blown out by clemson in the acc title game and or loses to north carolina this week in a small game. Cincinnati wins their thirteenth game. Is their conference championship game and schedules the extra game they're trying to against. Byu gets to fourteen. Oh boy i love. And i mean like young. Rj football fan. Love the idea of one. Let's give the pac twelve credit when they scheduled that game last sunday. And it was like you know what some cancellations the parks. I think the park clears out about noon. Lets me down there and play. I love it. It shows how much bs all. This takes three years to schedule. A game is but boy if you get. byu undefeated. Since i am defeated they say let's play this thing but you better put that winner in there. I think we are straight outta vegas back tomorrow six. Pm eastern time. "Cam Newton is now helping him decide his iconic fashion choices behind scenes. He's just making bill look fly I mean that was a great house like the Russ style shirt on his body. He basically wore the same thing that Russ wore it. Nobody gave him shit WHO's Russ Westbrook? His ripped shirt streetwear from that. Was Her. I know you remember. This isn't that though this wasn't like a designer four, Thousand Dollar Vinci ripped shirt that patriots hoodie. That looked like it was chewed on by a pack of raccoon or Ma maybe he forgot to put out the mothballs. That's I mean that is in all likelihood the case, and this is just like a ten year old fucking Hoodie. But. The guy look at the Google Bill Belichick right now, and it'll be nursing the pops up a he's always been known for his fashion or lack thereof but this is just such next level not giving a fuck the look to me. Embodies twenty twenty as a whole. He looks. In need of a home he kind of looks like a character from the last of us. Or somebody yeah he does of look like in need of a home he does because he's Kinda portly ensure too. Well he doesn't like he's just got the face of like scruffy. He's been through it. Also, his hair probably could have been a bit better in this circumstance in all circumstances. Comb over but then it started to fall apart. "Regarding blood cancer awareness month, and we wanted to share that message with everybody because it's important and I'm GonNa. Read it. So say Chris Hope you're doing well, man big ten big time fan of our VP here I wanted to start off by saying how great you've been on the podcast so far you bring so much energy and positively to the episode it's absolutely inspiring I was just listening to rb p three. Thirty two where you'll have the segment about national suicide prevention month while suicide prevention is such an amazing platform unfortunately, it tends to overshadow something that I connect with very personally this past February I was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia and my life was flipped upside down I just gotten married only two months prior and was in the middle of my second year of law school. It hit me hard I went from perfectly healthy. twenty-three-year-old is somebody who is immuno compromised and battling cancer constantly couple that with the pandemic hitting only three weeks. Later in my life was completely halted. September is also national blood cancer awareness month I could i. would never have known this prior to this year. My diagnosis has completely shifted my outlook on the world and I want to do my part to help I was wondering if you all could do a short shout. At the beginning of the show or something like that, asking for people to donate to the leukemia and Lymphoma Society LS or just ask for some type of awareness. The only reason I found my diagnosis is because I had the flu in December and then went back in January for a checkup where they noticed my white blood cell count was outrageously high I'm not one that typically likes to go to the doctor. So I saw. Had I. Not come down with the flu. I likely would not have discovered my cancer until my condition was much worse. I guess my best advice to anyone would just be go in for regular checkups. You never know what's going on inside your body. Very cool of Seth to send us this message and bring. Our awareness of blood cancer. Awareness. month. To the forefront so that we could share with y'all. Calls. You had some more information here from from Seth Yeah absolutely just some simple stuff on the leukemia and Lymphoma Society it's a really wonderful foundation with a lot of different outreach and resources as well. So if you have the means to go donate to them if possible and if you don't at least read up on what to look for symptoms, conditions, anything like that anyway to make yourself healthier and you know be able to look out for people around you you go to the doctor once a year and go to the doctor. Absolutely you definitely want to check in on yourself got. Probably allows you at least one free doctor visit per year. It's terrifying the Frey, its terrifying thought you could be going through something as serious as leukemia and not even notice until you had some sort of test done. Yeah. It's a sneaky one man my my mom lost her ex boyfriend to. Wasn't. He's an ex because he passed lost her boyfriend to leukemia several years ago and it was It was quick to man is very quick hitting and it's very progressive. Absolutely. It works its way through your body very quickly but So blood CANCER AWARENESS MONTH LEUKEMIA LYMPHOMA Give to L. If you can ls. Dot Org. I'm actually ran marathons for team in training, which is the foundation to raise money for ls through running and Marathons Five K's ten k's half marathons like the the goal is you sign up and then by running day you have to have collected like x amount of donation money Oh nice and that goes towards I, think it has something to do with like if you hit a certain time, people can agree to donate more. You know what I mean like how people will do the Track fundraisers where it's like I'll pledge dollar for every lap. You run same kind of idea but she did that for years and years and years, and it was really really supportive community with a lot of really incredible people and got to meet a lot of survivors of leukemia and lymphoma Nice and I mean the the struggles that they've gone through I mean shots to use seth for for toughened through this shit man like we're here for you got your people in keep fighting the good fight. Indeed and thank you for reaching out. Thanks for senators the message. So we could do a little segment on blood cancer awareness month. Appreciate you again. And? Prayers up for you and your and your family as well. Next, segment. Now it's time for Hashtag Sports. So let's get a little sports, update some sports stories. The first is not a good one, but it is sort of funny in a horrible way. About the chargers team doctor tragedy from CBS Los Angeles. report, chargers, team doctor accidentally punctured Todd Taylor's lung with painkiller injection before game. So Yeah. The whole reason there was a quarterback change before the chargers game against the chiefs. This past Sunday turns out was a bit of a woopsie. According to Espn Adam Schefter, it seems the doctor administering the shot of a painkiller to tyrod. Taylor pre-game for him to be able to go out and play, which is the thing that we know many NFL players undergo painkillers before the game absolutely and punctured his lung. So that was the thing he couldn't go out and do the football because the doctor put the painkillers shot in his fucking lung literally in his lung. Is GonNa find just for the record? Yeah but but yeah. That's why Justin Herbert got the start against the Kansas City chiefs who were the defending Super Bowl champions and obviously a big game for the chargers and Herbert played well in the loss, which is kind of a long lasting implication there like Herbert goes on to continue playing well in tyrod is no longer needed as the starting quarterback and if tyrod starts to slip, they'll be quicker to look back to this guy now because they've seen a little bit of what he's got well they. Believe. They've announced that herber will be starting this weekend verse my Carolina Panthers Again. So I'm saying if he can if he does exponentially wet or very, very well and continues to play very well, La takes on his luscious lettuce as a look of the land and Becomes Justin Herbert stands twenty, four, seven as Tyrod, Taylor I'll be pissed I miss. Out Indefinitely tyrod yeah dude like I'd be soon the. Doctor, going to be honest you can't can't. Now. Now, why did you sign the fuck of that right away when you joined the team and when you have any doctor really yeah, it's really hard. so Dr Bro what really really hard. What do you think is worse? This is a scabies incident. escapees incident I don't think so no. Financial. Okay. -cations this is much worse that would agree with much much worse but I would say in the medical community this probably is the biggest disaster in medicine census Gaby's disaster. I don't I still think in terms of medical. I'd still my suffering was higher than tyrod will be emotional price paid financially for this mistake will be much higher than it was for mine, which was near zero dollars mine was an emotional tax. That I that I paid. But tyrod was just signed the contract to the chargers this off season. So I mean brings about a very interesting scenario. It's a two year fucking fired. Yeah. He's definitely fired. It's a two year eleven, million dollar contracts. So it's going to bring about some interesting talk on charters chargers quarterback if they both continue well, Herbert continues to play. Well, he looked impressive versa chiefs in other news bill Belichick is falling apart like everyone. Else in twenty twenty, you showed up for today's press conference looking like he was attacked by a pack of raccoons and I'll tell you exactly what happened..

"bill belichick" Discussed on Get Up!

"Good morning, it is time to get up with Cam Newton. Do here what one of his old teammates said about him in Balaji is this really a marriage destined to fail plus the answer to all of problems is so simple instill it probably won't happen. We'll tell you exactly why and then today is the day golf's greatest legend back on its biggest age the first major of the year and Tiger will be on the course as we get up with you starting right now delighted to have all of you joining us and getting up early with us here Mike Greenberg in Bristol. With you for the next two hours until ten thirty eastern when I take will come your way and of course, today is the first major championship in golf in thirteen months and tiger woods will be on the course. We will get to all of that our game of the night but we begin with this fascinating story. Cam. Newton and jared stood him are listed as co starters at quarterback on the Patriots official depth Chart Kyle. Love is cams former teammate from Carolina. He also played under bellichik in New England, and he had some strong comments regarding this pairing of Cam and valujet said. This is just opinion but I don't feel like Cam can take the pressure of coaches down about his play. If he had a bad game in Carolina, the coaching staff wouldn't say much to him because they may have felt he could be a little frail about it or maybe pout. Really. Corrected to the point bill used to correct Tom. My fear is can can fit in their box because I want Cam to win. I just hope he can do that within the guidelines of what bill wants for their fears a lot to react to their and let's do it with my squad is back together, Ryan Clark Dominic Foxworth and Kimberly Martin with me here early this morning and Ryan, we'll just start with you. As you hear those comments it's fascinating can cam fit in their box what do you think? I think he can, and what's crazy is cam. Newton has always been critiqued for the person that is when he's actually never done anything bad or anything wrong. He's just been him and when you talk about a player being aware of where they are that's what Cam Newton is. Right now he understands that he was passed on when I was younger in my career I played for Greg Williams and anybody who's ever played for him. Know that he'll cuss you challenge character he'll challenge your manhood. He'll say things about you and to you that you know aren't true. that. If on the streets y'all would throw hands about but I was the third year guy who was just picked up from working at Lsu and so I stood I had to accept those things now you fast forward toward the end of my career and I walk in and Telcos has the hey today you can get on me about this play at practice because the young guys need to see you attack a veteran young guys need to see you coach me as hard as they'll be coached by you because you're in different places in your career Kayla understands. where he is and so many times we have people that WANNA weigh in on what he may not have been able to take. That was the way the Carolina Panthers chose to coach Cam Newton Bill Belichick made go a different way about it, but cam new understand where he is what he needs and what has to be done for him to get back to where he wants to be and it bill belichick coaches him in a hard way Bill Belichick puts pressure on him to be great. He understands that's what he needs. So let's not critique and talk. About what Cam may not be able to handle it? So He's in that position in has to handle it. It's really interesting because again, Kyle love is saying this not from a position of criticism, right? Dominic kissing because he wants it to work. He says, he likes Cam he wanted to work and he doesn't see that as a mix and he does specifically say that the coaching staff in Carolina they may have felt he could be a little frail about it or maybe pout that's his perspective. It doesn't mean it is the only perspective. What do you think? Nick? Wasn't on a team with Cam Newton and I never play for Bill Belichick. So love has a different perspective. However, I think that's a Ryan's point. They're all in different places. So Cam Newton built that house down in Carolina that was the house that came built was real hard to walk into a house that someone built and tell them where the put all their furniture. Entirely different situation. Going up to that mansion that Bill Bella check built up in New England Cam Newton has written a room. He's a house guest. I think he's going to be coming up with a different demeanor and he's going to behave differently. He understands his situation to suggest that Cam Newton is the same old. Cam. Newton Cam Newton doesn't understand where he is is it suggests that Cam Newton was not the one. Who just experience everyone passing on him many times it's the suggests that Cam Newton is not the same player wonder stands that he just signed for League minimum I think Cam Newton stands all that Joe bought himself be completely understand would bill belichick has a carpet. So I'd surprised if Cam Newton comes in there and he messes up and builds bill belichick gets on him a little hard if Cam Newton. Pal and say, but I'm Cam Newton. He knows that he's just renting a room in bill checks mansion right now kimberly, you're making your point earlier this morning about some of the things we've heard from cam since he signed in. New. England that sort of lend themselves to exactly what NECAS SAYING Yeah this is a really humbling experience for Cam Newton I mean the guy said I was left I felt like I was left to die to have to go from MVP type seasons to now no one believes in you feeling like everybody is written you off. This is a different cam and CAM has said we've never seen this before even cam has never seen this cam before. So I don't think anyone can say what Cam will be in New England and Bella check a shown everybody's equal if he's going to get on a six. Time Super, bowl winner and practice. Best. Believe he's going to get on Cam Newton to and camel probably take it. It's five. All right. More on. This is as the morning continues I just think it's a fascinating story because it would feel different to me if this was someone who was being critical saying, oh, can can never handle that it is at least position as someone who was a friend saying, Hey, I. Don't see this as a mix and I hope that it works out. We'll talk more about it as we go but right now. Last night from the bubble Lebron. James and the Lakers, taking on the thunder and the stars were out in attendance to at least the extent that can be a little wayne. Is there kind of third quarter Lakers down seven Lebron going to the basket? Lebron Lebron nineteen points last night on nineteen shots, and now we're going the other way and shake Alexander going to get it to Chris Paul and he's going to lay it up in good Paul would lead all scores with twenty one on the night of stay with the place on the other end Danilo Gallinari, playing the defense, and now just take a look at.

"Xm Channel Eighty three good. Debbie End Ryen. Russillo was funny today. John Lynch ric Bucher Benoit's Super Bowl champ former. Nfl TIGHT END Super Smart Guy. It's interesting ric Bucher Brought this up that so far. It's been a little bit of a sanitized version of MJ. We haven't heard about the gambling. And the Steve Kerr punching incident the the gambling incident interesting because I mean the bottom line. Is there some stuff here? If Michael Jordan goes out and talks about gambling he's GonNa go out and talk about beating guys gambling. The problem talking about gambling. Is You gamble with somebody else. So if you If if if I didn't want to talk about My my let's say I got into a bunch of fights as a broadcaster and there was coward gets into a lot of fights. And then you asked me about the fights and that was a big tough guy. If I told you I fought it. Basically be telling you yea knocked all these guys out so I would be making them look like schmucks for a second time to talk about Jeff. Gordon talk about gambling. He's gotTa talk about who he gambled with. And is it possible? Michael's like I don't really. I don't WanNa get into my golf games in my late night. Poker Games and how much. I wonder how much I lost. I don't know maybe I'm I'm apologizing for Michael Jordan. There are things in my life. I don't want to talk about because I have to talk about them and mentioned other people and I don't WanNa drag other people into them like Steve Kerr. I talk about that. It's public. We fought he can defend himself. I always say to my when I used to take calls. I used to say don't rip another broadcaster. Who's not here to defend himself? That's not fair right. So Jerry Krause I you know. I was critical when he was living. I mean I I. He was a bad. Gm to me I don't know that makes sense. Joy Maybe if. Mj was scaled back a little on the gambling because he was gambling with people all the time. Yeah I mean there's no way to tell a story without telling somebody else's business right but I also maybe it will develop into it but I don't really feel like this is an MJ story. It's to me. This is a story about that bulls team. I mean. We're learning about each of the individual characters in that story in that Saga and MJ's obviously Michael Jordan. So it feels like an. Mj documentary is why we care so much but so far it Halley. Feel like it's all about knowing it's interesting. It's like if you're doing an activity that's illegal gambling right. Why would you WanNa talk about it? Let's say there were days that you did cocaine and could you talk about it? Well no because I did it with these teammates and this woman and I don't WanNa talk about it like if you're doing something that's illegal and people ask you about it part of the reason you don't want to discuss it is other people were involved in my really illegal habit. That part I could see Jordan. Just say I gambled whatever you find you can use. But I'm not gonNA comment on it. Yeah Not GonNa add. I'm not going to add to it which I totally get by the way. I don't know why I don't think the Patriots are tanking. I think the media's ee struggling with this. I think they're rebooting. You ever had your computer at home. And you got to reboot young plug it for like three minutes. Then you plug your computer. Do this with my phone. Probably once every other day I just turn it off. Something's not working and then I turn it back on an iphone works again. The audio works or something Jeff. How of the athletic on the Patriots potentially tanking? He's a writer. He says the idea the Patriots would take for Trevor. Lawrence doesn't hold any water now. Here is two reasons. I it's not. How CHECK WIRED. I disagree Bella. Check always does what we don't expect. He's covert secretive manipulative. Smart always has a plan and shocks us all the time. Wouldn't it shock you if he tanked? That's exactly how he's wired. He didn't draft a quarterback this draft. He didn't draft a skill. Person is draft. Didn't that surprise you. This is how he's wired doing things we don't expect. He's not predictable we. He changes his game plan every week. This is exactly I would tell Jeff. This is exactly how he's wired. He's wired by the way he's also showed over time. He is about the big picture. He's willing to experiment in September joy. What's his worst month regular season set? September willing to have short term risk and failure for long-term winning his worst month is September. That's Bella checks worst month so he is wired this way. I'm GONNA experiment do things for the greater good of the season. I mean he he took Malcolm Butler out of a super bowl. Do you think he was wired that way. If he's all about winning the second thing. Jeff how says a second in this? Traditional transitional phase ballot check with risks. Losing the locker room. You know th the great way to alienate the veterans who have trusted him over the years. Oh you mean the guys. He's gotten rid of. They're all golfing. Brady Gone Stephen. Got cousy gone. He's gotten rid of all of them. Outside of Stefan Gilmore who is in his prime and he loves corners and they hightower so I disagree with the premise by jeff how this is exactly how. Bella check is wired. Secretive always a plan always ahead of the league big picture over this Sunday. Big Picture season over September Sunday. Secondly there aren't veterans last year's draft in this year's draft heavy defense heavy kids. He's gotten rid of the veterans. There is no pushback. Gilmore's not pushing back. Because they pay him. He's the one Patriot they pay. And they don't pay anybody so Gilmore's and Bella Checks Cam. He's Abella Check Guy. Does Dante hightower. Who could be a coach after he quits? But they're gonNA play young guys. Nobody's saying Bella checks trying to lose but he is letting go of really good veteran players and not replacing them knowing next year to a plus quarterback prospects. He just needs one summer suggesting. There's a third or fourth prospect on the horizon. We'll learn more about the next college football season but two plus his right now. So Bella checks like old inexpensive. Let's get rid of all of them. Except Gilmore who's in his prime and he's the best person in the league at his position outside of that. We're pretty much moving off everybody. One hundred million cap space next year most in the league ten picks minimum so far. I don't think it's called rebooting. It's what you do to your computer. He wants cap space draft picks and he knows that Emmy smart he knows the divisions getting better. He's not stupid he's he looks at Adam Gates and Donald now going to year to and their draft. They have a real GM now he looks at Miami. How well they played last year. How Buffalo made the playoffs. They now have stiffened digs. I mean bell checks not stupid. They're not going six and on this division they go to and four. I don't know if they match up with buffalo anymore. I really don't without Brady. I really don't so it's just the the words here tanking. It's not tanking. I don't see it is tanking. It's rebooting you know Bill Belichick. This morning knows. This is not a super bowl roster. He knows that he's he's not a dumb guy. He knows that I mean. Ask yourself this. Do they have one dynamic offensive player? I mean Julian Edelman Slot Guy that they they they they don't they don't have one dynamic offensive player. He didn't address that he built a defense defense. Really really good. He's going to build the offensive line back up so when he gets the Star quarterback and maybe it's Jarret Stidham. I don't think it is but if it is then he gets the quarterback and get the weapons in here. We go you. Everybody's caught up in tanking. This is not the Philadelphia. Seventy sixers with Sam Hanky. They're going to have a one hundred million dollars to spend. The last two drafts. Have been heavily. Reliant on defensive players plus Dante hightower and Stefan Gilmore. Are the two older players that are expensive? That he's keeping what is it telling me that New England next year is going to spend that money on offense because ballot check has struggled to draft wide receivers. He struggled with it and that built. Maybe bill saying listen. I'M GONNA have one hundred million dollars next year. I'm not great at at drafting wide receivers. It's not what I'm good at and Dante Scar. "Me. Chandler has been getting a lot of attention as more and more people recognize him. Some of it's not so good people who don't like what what I'm doing you know. For the most part it's positive people asking for autographs. Even tipping him a group came in and I was an item on their scavenger on thing. I had to have video of them dancing with me. A man working for an HR firm wants to use him as an example of work ethic for his company approached me set on that he wanted to do a Include me in part of his video whereas employees Chandler's own boss says Chandler's work ethic is giving others a good impression of his business smallest store in terms of his ability smallest sign in line. It's very easy to miss as you drive by. And yet it's the most known as a result of Chandler's displays works it. It works folks. If you are not convinced just check out the store put a link to it on the show notes you can check it out there. That guy looks like he's playing the drums. He's going all in for hours at the time. Unbelievable now the final final action item. You can do every single week. These these eleven move. That definitely work that you can use is having employees give you unemployed testimony of what it's like to work in your office every week That is really really powerful. Jason Why is it so important to have video testimonials of your employees explaining what it's like to work there. Well it's just good to have. It's just it goes back to the video reviews. We can have as many Indian glass door reviews as possible but somebody along lines and back I don't know if I believe that. Well if you have a video I mean you know we have someone on your youtube channel that shows actual employees there. They don't have a script they just say okay. This is why I like working working. Here's what's different about it. They'd be row of the rest of the officer. You can see that they're not actors they're real people. If you type in Clay Clark employee reviews you can see what I'm talking about is so important. Horton you gather those reviews now. Bill belichick quote number eighteen. This right here is a powerful quote that somebody needs to write down Jason. What say say the less versatile you are the better? You have to be at what you do. Think about that for a second. In the context of football throughout at the years Bill Belichick has switched to a lot of different positions because of wh- injury and Jason Feerick coach. What sort of control you have have over? who gets injured or not? I mean I guess there's like a slight bit of control. Just make make your condition and trained well but you never know if somebody's GonNa take a hit wrong Ortho team just gonNA come at you. The opposing team's culture even harder so the most control you have is being able to fill that spot when somebody does get hurt so let me give some examples here for you'll get the the Patriots this year started the season with the guy at the fullback position by the name of James Devlin. Now James Devlin did not play fullback in college. fullback fullback where you basically run with the ball occasionally but more often than not you block four a guy running the ball. You make sure you're clearing a path so he's very very good good and he got hurt. So let's bring in the backup so they bring in a backup and they bring in Jacob Johnson and they're bringing Jacob Johnson and He gets hurt. It's another got their linebacker or landon. Roberts playing fullback. They're on their third straight. Gin Element is a receiver in the Patriots. He was a quarterback in college and occasionally during their offense the Patriots have him throw the ball. But he's actually used as a wide receiver. Why is that helpful Jason for the Patriots knowing that their receiver ever could also play quarterback? If need be if Tomlin's up you know break a finger or something happens. God forbid they need somebody who can still play that position there it. It is so again in your office. Do you make actionable Jason. How many people are not people in our office no how do search engine optimization and sales calls and know how to coach people a a great deal of the team Why just because let's say I get hit by a bus already? decided you know clam taken off the entire month of December. Sure I'm just you know. Christmas is the twenty fifth. Why did you start off in the call center and then move up to managing people before you could become a coach or a consultant? Well there were plenty of times where we would have people just not show. Oh up or show up late in around the corner you know you John as a call up and say hey you know how to do this job. Can you cover until the next person gets here. Absolutely then that way your bases are covered. And I'm getting paid. That's great but if you do not have a versatile team and you're a small business owner and there's only one guy in your company that knows how to do photoshop. What happens when you lose? Somebody will not only are you. Sol if they get sick or they quit butlers so brother you're also going to give them the ability to hold you hostage. People hire the website guy who wants to do. Php Oh and then he goes you or have been lying to you the whole time and you have no idea but that's because you relinquish that power by not having somebody ready or not having a source of wisdom that could you know verify now bill quote number. Nineteen he says. What what? Jason I think a good quarterback or a good linebacker a good safety. Even though you have a lot of bodies moving out there it's slows down for them and they can really see it then. There are other guys that are there other guys that it's a lot of guys moving and they don't see any don't say anything. It's like being a busy intersection. Just cars going everywhere. The guys that that can really sort it out they see the game at a slower pace and can really sort out and decipher all the movement. Which is hard but experienced certainly helps that? Yes that's powerful right there guys who can think well or the kind of people that he wants on his team now as a business coach or a consultant before anybody can become a client. They have to schedule a thirteen eighteen point assessment with meat and Jason. Why do I do all the thirteen point assessments myself? You are a very good judge of character but also oh you ask important questions and you see things differently. You look at it from the scope of somebody who has built multiple multimillion dollar businesses in. So you have a better understanding of who is going to be a good fit. Yup and I can see patterns. I'm like Oh this person would be perfect. Or here's the obvious cheek in their armor here or the five to ten things that are limiting their growth. I can see that easily because I have been in the forest out of the forest in the forest out of the forest through the forest up to the top of the mountain back down the mountain up to the top of the mountain back down to them over and over top to the to the top of the mountain the bottom through the forest and so now there's been some brush rush that's kind of grown up. There's been some lack of landscaping going on and now the path has been kinda covered. Yeah it's been kinda there's weeds growing up everywhere in that forest forest and the path has been obscured with snow and other obstructions leading up to the top of the mountain. And because I have been to the mountaintop I know which way to go. Okay even though some might not see the path anymore or maybe some have never known the path at all and it's amazing to me how how easy business can be if you have a good coach or an expert leading the way and so Jason. I thought we would do kind of a fun. A fun thing here is we. We were just released a Thanksgiving show during Thanksgiving and I thought the show went really well but I thought for a second you could share with the listeners about the growth percentages of these clients that are having growth this year so if you could just read the name of the company and their growth percentage edge that would be a beautiful thing. Let's read through all twenty four on this all twenty three on this list. Yeah so Scott's construction. They are builder. They had forty or fifty four percent. Growth Two thousand eighteen two thousand nineteen metal roof contractors they are of course a Roofer. They had eighty seven percent growth. Come on over here. Let's see gene breeze. She's a speaker. Shah homes has grown from thirty seven million to eighty million dollars. I mean we're talking about massive growth. It's because these things work in my job as a business owner is to just kind of slow so it down and to look at Your Business from a Meta level end to see problems that are harder to see if you don't see see things from a Meta level Jason. If you're so busy in the day today reacting why is it hard to see the obvious flaws that somebody else could see when they're not in the forest what why. Why is it hard to see the forest when you're in the middle of it well because you're you're close to everything you're super surrounded by only see what's right in front of you? Meanwhile in the foreground and background there's all sorts of stuff that easier to that. Needs your attention. I also find that the emotional fog of the situation. It's like you're in that fog and if you were five hundred yards away and you could see how close to the edge of the forest. You are You wouldn't be discouraged. No not at all Buni movement going on a circle for ten years or five years or whatever and you can't see how close you are to the edge. It becomes very very discouraging. Our final notable notable quarterback. I want to hammer home today on. Today's show is Bill Belichick quote number twenty one which he's famous for saying and I think it I think think it's easy to look at it. And kinda glance over it and not realize how profound it is in really what it means but let's go ahead and read our final. The bill belichick quote of today's show. The quote number. Twenty is do your job. I think a lot of people's struggle to do their job for the following reasons one. I WANNA do my job. And I'm sick Jason. When I'm sick what do you pop some dayquil and you still beat everybody here? Okay but I want to do my job but I have one hundred and two vacation times and with a hundred and.

"A cute up here code. Aw Boston was robbed with record. Snowfall and historic flooding after a massive storm took hold of the northeast but despite the frozen conditions the players got to play. Oh man so they are walking so this is the patriots in nothing but their gear. So Glenn Patient Celtics Jalen Brown proved that the phrase no days off runs true. No days days are so why. Why is it a big thing and important thing these guys to practice outside right now and some of these guys? NFL players making millions of dollars a year. Why are they outside well in order to play and make millions millions of dollars a year? They have to be able to play when it's difficult and they're going to succeed. Where other teams don't because I mean this these guys marching through the parking lot? It's windy. There's deep snow. It looks miserable but they have to be out there. What happens to the other teams have been practicing in a dome dome? Climate controlled environment win. Snow hits during a real game. What happens to those guys? They'll be distracted. They'll lock up. They won't know how to maneuver like these guys practice on you. You don't run on snow or slippery surfaces so the exactly how to go in order to not impede their movement but even then it's like a what was the. What was the play from the podcast? We did last last week where bill turned over the ball because he wanted to kick with the wind instead of against the other team didn't even think about that. Yeah Bill Check and if you listen to some of our previous shows we've took. He kept lot of examples but bill during a critical game elected to these at. Hey I don't want the ball during overtime like you don't want the ball. He just won the coin toss. Why do you the ball? Well he wanted to have the wind at his back and that his back and sure enough when the Games online the opposing team tried to kick a field goal into the wind. They couldn't do it right in so bills teams able to March the ball down the field and kick a field goal and win the game dip. This happens all the time now. Notable number fourteen this this just in from the bill belichick notable quotable center is what When you get wet it usually means something good? What does that mean? That was a great question. What does that mean into the twelve year? Old and music don't say it. Let me tell you what it means. He likes bad weather conditions. And why does he like bad weather condition because it's hard and the other team hasn't practiced in it. Right is what you to understand. This there are so many examples of former patriots. Talking about this but bill belichick. We'll actually make the balls wet and scuff them up all the time during practice. So that when you're in a game and the balls wet it's not new but what happens if you're trying to catch a wet football for the first time in your life and you're doing it on national television. What happens like somebody's tossed a billfish out of the river just flopping around and you have no idea how to grab it okay? Let's move onto the next door to record old notable for fifteen from coach. Bill Belichick. Whatever success I've had it is because I've tried to understand the situation of the player I think the coach's duty is to avoid complicating matters? Let's go back to notable quotable number fourteen for a second. I'm asking you what can you do to make your office environment. mm-hmm it tougher than it is on the plainfield so as an example. If you have a call center why would you want to role play Jason. The frequently asked questions or customer complaints situations situations with your call center team before they have a real complaint because it gets them ready Back when I was working at the call center or the rental car call centers ars working at. I came into both of those not having prepared and it wasn't until I started working for the call center that I would have weekly times with my manager in any other trainer where you go over hard customer service issues or you'd play a call back and say okay. What did you do wrong here and it would get me prepared that way the next time somebody calls in and they're screaming as Cagney? I don't lock up. I'm able to go in with nothing but candor make them build that rapport and then diffuse the situation. But if I weren't experience with that I wouldn't be able to close that anytime. Well we have another record. We'll hear from an audio excerpt from a James Harrison. Now James Harrison played with played for Bill Belichick during his final season in the in the NFL he will be a hall of fame NFL player. He was the strongest man in the NFL during his career. He's been the majority of his career on the Miami dolphins however James Harrison has been on other teams teams throughout his career and so he's played for a lot of different coaches and that includes the bengals and he played for the just. Jackie is this is like look at this guy I mean he. He played for the Bengals. He played for the steelers. He played for the Patriots. Those arms. What the crap? And so James Harrison is being asked about what it's like to play for bill belichick versus playing for other coaches. And this is what he has to say. We'll make sure we're getting under a Tomlin online versus a ballot check like I said it's discipline. Everybody think I'm talking about you know the players are just running wild. They're doing whatever they want to do is disciplined as far as understanding of defenses the execution them even with the players. You know understanding in this being taught the same way by everybody else. It's not. I'm not saying that the team is going crazy. They don't remember they WANNA do. That's that's what I'm saying. That's the big difference that I felt when I went over to New England. Well the reason why it's such a relevant subject is because Terry Bradshaw obviously working for five doing a great rage offer them for years four time superbowl champion with Pittsburgh steelers. He did an interview a couple of days ago when he spoke out about Tomlin and he said that he wasn't a fan and that his his coaches style. He's more interested in being friends with the players than doing anything else. My attitude a simple Tomlin has won sixteen and sixty as a head coach. He's been the three F. C. Championship. The Games two Super Bowls Super Bowl title eight playoff appearances and there's eleven years as head coach of the Pittsburgh steelers. I don't think there's much the plan about other than to say. He's not bill belichick but when you hear era bradshaw saying what he said. What do you take from that like? I said everyone's entitled to her opinion. You GotTa look type of coaster he played under versus right WH- versus what he's seeing. Now I would say that you know cholera was you know another coast that was you know. He's explaining that Bill Belichick a little discipline. He has on the team translates onto Indus success on the Field Yup. So let's let's break this down to small business language. Let's talk about checklists checklists gotTa let me check all the employees. Do not like Halloween checklist. Why do employees not like what I think of checklist? This is what I think chips. They they make it work. It's a it's a sexy idea but most people think about checklist. They think about.

Yeah sure sure the show with one person just the share button on your podcast player. Just share the show with one person. I'm not asking you to share with two people. I'm just asking you. Who Do you know that needs to become a more effective manager and hit the old share button because I know as entrepreneurs a lot of us are kind of reclusive? We don't naturally share a lot. The stuff we don't actually go out with a whole lot of people were kind of more reclusive. So let's just share the show with one person because somebody out there in your life needs to learn how to become a better manager. It might be. You might be someone you know but sure that with them and hopefully this show will bless them as it as much as it's helped me learn all these principles over the years. I've become so much better for manager as a result of studying bill. Check and a second ask is if you know bill bell check Send us to him and say pell remember when you wrote two hundred and fifty handwritten written letters and the rejected and you worked for a quarter. An hour for the colts. Remember that Bill. There's this crazy Guy Oklahoma who I think he's a stalker talker but he would like to interview and you should be on his show just if nothing else but you can have on the show and then we all say bill. How are you and you can say I'm done and then we did? At least you could be on the show. I'd love to have you on the show. Bill Belichick thank you for being the coach the mentor you are for so many people out there and on the candidate. We're going in this show.

"I'm sorry i said wack it off but that's what he does there's certain things we don't need to hear about i get it but i think the fans needed no that bill belichick spends most of his time just paddling it and what what about the fact that this ban is a superior coach what about it how many times i gotta hear about that so he's a superior coach so what that for the for being a superior coach and getting championships that for the patriots i don't think the trade offs very good you know in other words he wins championships but then he sits there you know spank it i don't know there's something wrong with the guy i don't know what it is but get to the bottom of it what do you get to the bottom of what's wrong with him supposed to mean what do you mean need cigarette what's wrong with him i don't are you kidding me waste by time bill belichick has had people's noses up his a yeah we get it yeah he had people's noses up is you know what for so long that feels normal to him and why because he's a championship coach in football but when you have the personality of a mailbox when you are as personal as a sidewalk when you stare off into space like your catatonic you're either catatonic are you thinking about all the time you wacked off frustrated what what's the main frustration the main frustration what do you think it is that you'd ever coach super bowl barrett is i'll never get the coach super bowl you'll never get to coach super bowl why is that a reason to run another man down because it is because it just is because i guarantee you if i want bulls i'd be far more personal i begin interviews there's no question about that coach we know how personal guy you are and we know how acceptable you are so there's no question all right what i'm just telling you that's by that would be my contribution i would be i'd be thankful every day of my life i think about how lucky i am how fortunate i am that i've coached a super bowl champion and i wouldn't sit there like bill belichick staring at a glass of beer bored out of his mind thinking about you know paddling pony when it gets back to the hotel a bitchy keeps chart on how many times he wax off what do you think coach thank you very much i mean why would you cut me off thank you there is that i was gonna say that's coach bill belichick no it isn't that is coach vernon dosier on the super bowl while coversation about bill belichick and what coach doshi considers to be a pretty dull guy i'll see that he is he's done a man who has given too much conversation as i think a lotta times of these genius types they're just real tight lipped about stuff there is the program folks famous filigree show executive produced by mr henry who as we mentioned is under the weather has got himself a little touch the flu executive produce this thing from a sick pet pre incorporated all rights reserved on podcast one we will see you tonight for the chat you didn't mention anything about that jesus i forgot tonight is the chat don't forget the chat and then of course the the the saturday cinema kept blowing it will call my blowing.

"All their time worrying about things they can't control but bill check exclusively focuses on what he can control bill belichick was quoted as saying whatever success i've had it is because i've tried to understand the situation of the player i think the coaches duty is to avoid complicating matters players that have played for bill belichick love moghadam have said he is the most prepared coach they've ever played for so when they have a game playing the patriots are playing this weekend against your team bill belichick will his players so well in such detail to play the other team is not possible for member of his team to not know specifically what is required of them they know the scouting report of the other player where they were they usually know the other players tendencies more than the other player knows their own tendencies and this could be demonstrated week in week out of the patriots win by just a small margin in a league were everybody is so talented and the league is so competitive the patriots constantly win by just little slight edges that they've developed slight edge is called preparation now move number five this is the fifth thing that bill belichick does not waste his time doing and you should not waste your time doing either net is spending your time with negative people don't hang out with negative people in bill does it do that either he doesn't allow negative people on his team bill bill has been quoted as saying talent sets the floor character sets the ceiling why is he talking about he says talent sets the floor character sets the ceiling what does that even mean what that means is that you could have a collection of very very athletic players on your team very good graphic designers very good web developers very good whatever their skill is but if they don't have good character they will fight they will gossip they will talk about about each other they will they will not get things done and i've had i've had businesses in the past where i remember back in the day i ran a company and gosh every single meeting someone's running late someone's running late somebody is upset with somebody else somebody's mad that someone sister got promoted and they just go round and round and round and so i had to fire all of them all of them and sometimes when you take over an existing company that has to happen but it's ridiculous because the person was talented enough they did great photos there sister great photos that a great photos but they just couldn't stop gossiping arguing showing up late complaining about the dress code constantly you can't get anything done a very basic level you can't get people to show up on time there's so many movements today on social media did the pm as ing movement be amazing what about the beyond time movement you know there's the be amazing movement what about hashtag be amazing but what about hashtag beyond time what about hashtag shut the crap up into your job right all right idea number six this is this area number six bill bill check does not waste his time bill belichick doesn't dwell on past mistakes in fact he's been quoted as saying live in the past is to die in the present let me repeat it again bill belichick rights to live in the past is to die in the present nets whether you're really good or bad at something thrived nation think about this for a second the thrive time show recently we hit number one on i tombs of all categories we recently hit the top ten in the last like four or five months.
