"Three to twenty twenty-eight you think fans would turn against you know. I think you know you. You have that window. Were obviously you're you're probably the best team going Because you actually if if you if you look at it like you don't win you're back to back titles until I obviously sell off my pieces and twenty six year so you're welcome for Your your opportunity to win more than one title because selling off pieces. They just got old. No that's how it happened because they were probably if the next decade draft. We're only like what five years in these guys are. Getting their age thirty season or in their early thirty so now we just sold off some assets and we were rebuilding for like literally. We were about to see the turnaround. We cut off date at twenty twenty nine so if we had kept going okay take. My team was going to be good again. That's interesting because he did. The Guy did send the screen shots of what our rosters like at the end of the simulations which whatever maybe people have stopped listening at this point but this is kind of funny for people who spent time drafting and following the draft. A few things to note. We'll start with Dallas team by the time twenty. Twenty-nine Rolls Around Dallas has only two ninety plus players left on his roster. Okay everybody WHO and by the way by the way his offense is not even close. He has one ninety plus player. His next closest guy is an eighty ranked player his his offensive players in ninety plus is number one pick francisco indoor who who apparently aged quite well and his number one is ninety plus pitcher. Oh Hey Zeus Luzardo was actually his highest ranked player on his team at ninety four in two thousand twenty nine. Jt Real Muto's you expect probably has no knees by twenty. Twenty-nine a serious yeah. He broke the record for games caught. Sometimes for the two thousand twenty six season I think and then apparently broke. Both legs pelvic to play Our Buddy bryce harper down to sixty. Nine Max Muncie down to sixty five jared team from a ratings perspective and a little bit better shape victim. Robots the best player on my team. Victor Oh give me shit for that. Pick Ninety seven batting leadoff for Jared Vlad. Junior also developed as expected. He's ninety six and twenty twenty-nine outside of that. It's a mix of low eighties and seventies guys. Mike Saroka a ninety two. Who's your third. Pitcher clever retired which he's not listed as did Garrett Cole on my team but my team probably could have won with no pitchers on the roster because of how well the offense aged Ninety eight ninety seven ninety eight ninety nine ninety five ninety and ninety. Those are seven of my nine offensive players opinions and ninety nine bellinger ninety eight. Totti's ninety seven ninety eight shot ninety five Adly Rodman developed so you guys will be happy to hear that he's in ninety From from the streets L. Marva all the way to the Big Leagues Rafael Devers. Eight one too many ice cream sandwiches or whatever you guys say. No he's still there he's batting. Last seventy four. So he's still kicking he. Would he would definitely. He might be a trade candidate to ship over to one of your guys teams. Maybe become new franchise cornerstone phone and you guys. Shut this fucking nerd up. He's so happy he's just bathing in his own juice. Right now beaming. Disgusting stuff snowballing. Himself right now. Yeah I'm just happy to be the executive that built the the most winningest team in the simulation and the the architect of the First World Series Championship out of any of us. So you can never take that away from me. There's only one I and it was me and there's only one best and there's me and there's only one as somebody's gotTa take third place in at all and that's youtube that's you. That's you so. Congratulations your even your third place in the voting third-place relation. That didn't happen. I actually won the second most game. Silverton years I have been like that. I don't think that matters and it's all about just talking about rockets squad missing the fucking playoffs. Four just right in a row your fucking sold pieces off. What do you want from me? After we won we were like all right. Let's blow it up and do it again. You tried to hang on to your your. Your sounds like draft. Gone wrong if you ask me. They just fucking draft me a kiss the ring bitch..

"Hell Yeah Dude. I got a final thought. Bryce Harper Amir Garrett Patrick Corbin Matt Barnes Kevin Beige at Amata Vino. Those are all the names that have come to you on this podcast. And it's may nineteenth measure may more to come final thoughts yeah You know. I hate to revisit. This borders put a bow on it with this. I guess the all decade draft or not the It was it was it was something. I might not have shined in earlier. So we thought it was a dental. But then what what you have to do. This is like we've talked about so many times on this podcast. You still have to play the game. You still have to play the game and one of our dedicated members of the grounds crew. Did an amazing job of drafting our teams and simulating a decade's worth of games of seasons to find out. Just what those teams that we drafted look like so pinned paper we evaluated and some of us were feeling good about what it looked like. And then once we roll the balls out and play the game we we had a very different conclusion And so I just WanNa say say thank you Jay. Do you have that user do you? Do you have that ground crew members name by any chance? Do you have that on on hand at all but it was it was it was important. I think to give everybody a taste. Aryan Darien shut out to dairy in seriously. That's awesome to take the time to do that. Man That was great I don't know if that's even something that we can do with any of the drafts that we've had in the past or moving forward. I think it'd be tough with some of the older players But if it's possible I think that's a cool little thing to add onto the pole and and how that goes because it kind of gives a look at you know what people like. What's aesthetically pleasing? And just what would happen if you actually played this out? What what that would look like. So that's cool. shutouts me for taking second place in the draw outstanding dairy in Vidadi Daria. Why do you think you took Secondary Darian? Vidadi E. D. A. D. I thank you. Yes go check that out. He gives you a great layout of What a decade's worth of teams. Look this up. Jay Team won three titles. Dallas and I each one one title and then I had more wins on twenty twenty six. Obviously we sold off our pieces. I do want to since Dallas just went on for five minutes about his team that was tied for second best in the simulation. I do want to point out. What HAPPENED WAS WHATEVER WHATEVER WITH CLEVELAND? In in the simulation gross it is kind of gross place. Whatever value you want on this but starting in twenty twenty year the win totals for my team hundred to one hundred and nine hundred and fifteen in two thousand twenty three. We went one hundred seventeen games and the world series would love to know what happened in the one hundred and fifteen win season that we didn't in twenty twenty four. We drop all the way down to ninety eight. Twenty twenty five. It's one of seven twenty twenty six. We get a little lucky and win and win a world series with only ninety nine wins twenty twenty seven. We go back to back with one hundred one wins in a World Series Title Twenty Twenty Eight Ninety Nine Wins. Twenty twenty nine one hundred and three wins and an Al Pennant. So never less. The ninety eight wins in the decade with my team. That is pretty impressive. Press almost impressive. As having the winning a season out of any of the teams involved though it'd be the one hundred and eighteen win twenty twenty three campaign one hundred eighteen twenty two twenty three season and we were also the first team to win a world series so we're projecting out my team tasted world series title victory. I projecting anything. That's just what happened. What what when we talk about body of work though over the decade. Because that's what the draft was implying. What these teams look like at the end of it all you see the team that I drafted not only win a world championship but we take division. Titles two out of the Two out of the ten years as well. We only missed the playoffs one year and that was at the very end of the year. Everybody's on their last leg on their way out the door. I mean you know. Sixty six wins. Look teams have been there. We've all been there so I think for the team that was laughed at initially to ultimately finished up as the second no to get a single world series is absolutely a win for your team. Yeah it should've been it. Should've it should've been more like six world series for me and zero for you guys. What you guys thought was going to happen. But then what? I knew to be true about these players what I knew to be true in their heart of hearts. I just factor. Didn't work ethic some of those intangibles. That's to other few other nuggets. Jared wins his world series in two thousand twenty two with only ninety two went quote unquote. Only ninety. Two wins the year. The year that he wins the one hundred eighteen and somehow according to these labels doesn't even win the AL which would be a disappointing turn of events although maybe the world would have been used to it after my one hundred fifteen win season that also didn't result in pennant the year. Before jared though I gotta ask you. Do you think even.

"Guys. Just don't have the keys sucks. Swiss cheese Swiss cheese. I'm glad this question was asked. Whoever picked up these twitter questions you just have a beef with cheese and I don't know what it is. No Swiss cheese is the world's worst cheese. Okay at least among at least among regularly available sandwich. Jesus it as it doesn't it doesn't have a defined good excellent taste okay. It doesn't cheese. Yeah it's not. It doesn't melt particularly excellently. It's it has in it. What's like degree or getting? Yeah and that's the break up the flavor because it's a break up the continuity. The Miami tastes like a shoot extra sharp Cheddar. Nobody's like the sole of the shoe. There's a reason Dallas. Why when you're in first grade people say that you smell like Swiss cheese to insulting. It's an insult I've never heard that I have. I've never insult. Get it now. Look at you smell like trouble. It's essentially the glue of the cheese. Snow Yeah exactly right. It's the elmer's glue of cheese world. It's binding all that. Is You like glue exactly correct? So we're we're killing Swiss correct Just this name another cheese. That's a part of a menu item. Were the cheeses. Name is getting thrown into that game. Here let me explain please. You ever had a ham and Cheddar. Nope you ever had a Hamid Gouda. No you have it. I mean maybe you have which definitely didn't order that way. You want to know what you ordered ordered a ham and cheese. Yeah if I get Swiss on my ham and cheese. I'm fucking throwing it. Right back in the waiters face. Yeah Fox Swiss cheese. I am marrying Gouda. Wow yes good as a good cheese. It really is a good cheese. We've talked about that on previous bringing the cheese episodes today. I have good most days. I usually at the Bacon and Gouda from from starbucks Dallas. I know that you're familiar with this. Yeah I'm GonNa Marry Gouda and then Cheddar you're gonNA talk again. Yeah yeah kicking Cheddar to the curb bowl times on Marion. Gouda Swiss's not. The Swiss does not rule the day here. The Gouda does because I'd be just smoked too is just. I'm a huge fan. I feel like I feel like a sharp Cheddar overwhelms you physically and emotionally Dallas. You want to you. You are a strong man. But you're not strong enough. No you want to know what it is about your really real forty. Okay get real. You ever ever had to eat cheese fucking sandwiches when you were a kid like like straight cheese sandwiches. You got it buddy like. Here's a fucking block of Cheddar fucking thing of mustard and a loaf of bread. That's what we got but that's what we got for the next three days. Okay so make it last world. Sounds like you had a really. You had a really if you were getting sharp Cheddar every day. It sounds like you had a really nice time whilst Dallas eating aged sharp Cheddar tenure age sharp Cheddar sandwiches as a kid is not quite what you meant. That's always talking between between no no not at all and scones the lady that I lived with an Elko Nevada during our baseball tournament. All 's she would feed us was scones so like if I see a stone of a stone I break into a fucking sweat. I can't I. I respect that one time. I ate an entire bag of caramel creams in one sitting. And then I woke up at three o'clock in the morning. I haven't had a caramel cream sense so I hear you. If you thought that was the end of bringing the cheese you were fucking very mistaken. We are continuing right along. This one pair of questions kind of related inner out Mac and cheese pizza out all the way out all of the way. That's the only time you had Mac and cheese pizza last. Let me think how. Ya Never fucking never. Oh so you just. You're just going to give an opinion on something that you've never taken it never in your life because that is disgusting. Oh how could it be discussing pizza MAC and cheese? Both of them are good. Not Together of other. It's just cheese. It's two things that definitely go together. I I've never had gross macaroni and cheese pizza. I've never met each other in my mouth before I will say that but it is something that I would. One thousand percent try Since you say okay so you'd put Marinara sauce cheese. Is that what you would do as the only person here who is the only person who's tried Mac and cheese pizza it's good. It's so end of conversation. Wow -nother -nother clear cut bringing the cheese answer right there this one. What's the best type of MAC and cheese to make homemade? Or what's the best out of cheese to make homemade MAC and cheese Sir King Moose? I'm going to direct you to the end of episode number. One seventy one. Yeah because that's when we talked about it I believe is one seventy one. Seventy one seventy one one seventy one. I believe so. Check that out. We got into the MAC and cheese thing. Dallas unlike today we were very much aligned on the MAC and cheese. This isn't a question. It's just a comment. I hope each of you make over five hundred thousand. Because you're worth it to me. Dammit so thank you. We really appreciate that. Thank you very much. Fortunately we don't talk about deep throat coating executives and things of that nature. We're talking about baseball. Yup We do talk about going deep just not that kind hell. Yeah Not You guys haven't touched on this one yet but best team this decade not to win the World Series has take twenty eleven phillies. It's a different person by the way. Now who's sending it in every time so I really do that ongoing joke? Thank you gotta go back to like. It's.

"IMPACT IS CHURCH. Little dipper worry. It's not the worst. Usually I mean like I feel I. I don't know what you're going to give up here when we have pitchers on. I ask them what their pitch repertoire is. And for you it's it's four cm cutter slider mostly through themes okay so to someone more totter slider all right so you can get rid of one of those pitches but you have to take that pitch from someone in the League so like whatever you think is your worst like you can be like all right. I'm getting rid of my two seamer. And then you WANNA take back pitcher XS to seamer. What pitchy given up who you taken. I would still give up my cutter and I I would take you know Kenley Jansen right okay cries Prime Kenley sure. Yeah sure then I just throw that all the time three you start you start wrapping that thing with that slider good luck. I mean feature to those just somewhere around waist high and then wipe them out. Thanks for coming out the last question that we do ask as jared said if you are able to jump in a hot tub time machine and go back in time and witnessed any moment in baseball history. What is it and why I think for me I think for me. I I would like to watch you know Mickey Mantle play My Dad was a huge Mickey Mantle. Fan and Would always tell me about him and he seemed like more than a player. "Like they would go out on the field and I have to go around the back to the funnel for the clubhouse and be like the guy in there with the little cooler so that was the bad part and then when I went to Colorado like the next year Somehow there was no none of that really so I was Kinda lucky but Yeah I only had that for a little while but it was. It was an interesting experience. I tried to do his best to. I tried to make. Jared carry our technology back when were on the road. But that's few and far between doesn't miss. I'm actually Dallas is struggling with the fact that he's the rookie in the digital media world. And I'm actually the veteran in this in this dynamic. We're day ten of core routine. You got a little scruff. How much do you hate the No facial hair rule. That would drive me absolutely insane. If my job required me to shave my face I was. I was worried about it when I signed. 'cause I never really went clean shaven for a long time. I hadn't done that but I got in a routine like once you figure out the routine. I really wasn't a big deal and actually think I look a little better with no beard so at least yourself. I mean it was just an adjustment. You know whatever but that stuff you gotta do play for the pinstripes so you take it all right. It's quarantine season and God forbid this thing. Get any worse than we start living through a Zombie apocalypse season. But say we get there who are two dudes on your team that you take with you or that you go with to survive design be apocalypse. Yeah Well Brett Gardner for sure number one you would. He would know what to do. He would know what to do like he's. I think he's out there fishing every day right now. Like he's taking this to the freaking advantage of this time. You know you know he knows what to do trying to think about somebody else. We don't have too many men on our team Garner.

"Were here with Adam. Oughta Vino starting nine debut zero. Yes this is. This is something that we've been trying to get done for a little bit now It's a unique set of circumstances obviously would starting nylon we. We like to get our guests in person. I feel like it flows better. It sounds better. But it's a unique set of circumstances because there's a global pandemic and there's no today should be opening day. No no no stop it right. There will not allow you to do that to our listeners. I will not allow you do that. To audit opening day dates just lay giertych delayed. That's it's not it's it's not it's not see. Here's the I would agree with you out agree with you of opening day. We're on the same day every year that we could celebrate a holiday but when it's not on the same day every year then it's just not day we relieve your exists. You can't be asking for the same day to get down day in day out year in your opening day and Adam ought to be taking Adam. Adam tell this man that it's not opening day until baseball starts. I wish it was opening day. I'd be in Baltimore Right now. At home I guess not. How have you been keeping yourself in shape hobby and passing the time during this pandemic been able to throw since I got home Almost every day taking a few days off. Obviously it's just weird because we don't know like when when we're getting ready for so like I was in a good spot when spring got banks and now just trying to keep the arm move in and try to set up my gym in the House and do whatever you can basically so that. That is the madness that I'm trying to explain to fans who constantly ask are wondering win the start win. Does this get going well as you just alluded to? That is something I have been pointing out to these people is you guys up and cranking guys are on their third up and down at the point that Spring got banged right. Starters are on their third up and down maybe a fourth up and down. You guys are getting ready to go as you get towards the industry trading. I'm going to need to see adamant of pitch on back to back days. Maybe a five inning or excuse me a five out outing like. There's a lot of things that that come down to getting prepared for that. And you just said you were right there and now. You're not psychologically. What does that do because you talked about your home home? Gym Get Cranky but psychologically there's a battle going on yeah. I feel like I'm in no man's Land. I feel like we all are Kinda. I mean I had just done up and down. I do like two innings. Sim Game on the back field The next day we got bang and You know at first I was like all right. No problem I'll keep off the mound. You know whatever but now it's like it just feels like it's more and more in the distance so dial back off the mound trying to be as smart as Smart as you can about it but usually I'm very calculated with this stuff and it's hard to calculate when you have no timeline. So yeah that's the weird thing how much how much optimism and do you have if any at all that the season gets played at all and then like you know if it does get played. How many games on the schedule you looking at like what? What time period do you think that it's feasible? That Major League baseball could even have a season. I'm optimistic just in the fact that like the owners needs to play and the players need us to play like there's a lot of incentive to get it done you know with whatever games we can and obviously having a playoff in making the best of a crappy situation but You know not optimistic with the way each day passes but I think overall I feel like a lot of people a lot of skin in the game so you know with that being said I mean I think I think something will happen what. What was the moment for you in spring training because obviously look conversations are going on? There's Times where that clubhouse is privy to a lot of information that maybe the outside world isn't and then there's times where the clubhouse to be very insulated. You're not really sure what the hell's going on outside of the twenty five in there or in spring training forty plus whatever it is. What was the moment in time that either you or somebody on the club kind of got your attention or whatever it was that grabbed your attention and said you know what man this this might be. might not be a regular season for us. When did that start to become a thing? Yeah I was in Tampa? My family was back in New York and they were. They were My wife was telling me you know it's getting bad around here like people are worried. People were panicking. People are are jumping ship out of here. And you know she was they. Were GONNA come down to Tampa the next couple of days and I was like you might as well not you know like. Let's just be safe like traveling. Seem like the best part and then it just accelerated quickly. I was like sitting at home watching T. V. and I was watching a basketball game when the dude ran out on the court and and the game and that's right then I was like Oh shit. Yeah like we're in trouble. And then the next day we came in and it was like everybody walking on eggshells. You know cashed address the team like right when we were supposed to have morning meeting. And that's when I had a feeling like nothing's the same anymore so harbory right and for I think a lot of guys that I've talked to and we talked about this on the last episode. I've asked guys like the record. You know how would you feel about you know if there is like a two month three months season? It's an abbreviated season. Like how legit would that World Series Championship winner? Be and I think after the off season that the Yankees had I mean. It's odds on favorite the like that. I guess I've I haven't talked to anyone on the Yankees about this so interested to hear what you would think like if the Yankees go on to win this world series in twenty twenty in an abbreviated season with their almost be like this moment of like well shit like we people are gonna like discredited a little bit because it was an abbreviated season but we we could have won that thing outright with one hundred sixty two like is there any bit of that as just like. Hey a ring ring. Well I think I think in every season there's a story that goes along with the ring you know I feel like some rings up more significance than others. You know like when the red SOx broke the curse cubs broke the curse like those to me are more significant than normal ring This would be a different situation. It would be a part of the history of the game you know. Hey in twenty twenty. This year went this way. This is what came out of it you know. And this is how it ended up I think the players are missing the game so much I mean if we get back to play in any capacity we're GONNA take it real serious and You know try to try to play for keeps like whatever you. What have you been doing during this time to keep your mind off of some of the things that can allow you to go to a dark place right now just kind of understanding what's going on around the world the things that impact that from an outside perspective. There's only so much you can control as an athlete not only within your own career but within your own bubble. How do you stay safe? How are you are hitting trick shots off your third daughter into a bucket up all of my trout like I think I think baseball kind of training a little bit for this because you you learn only control what you can control and not worry about outside you know interference? I guess but you know I have two little kids and so for the most part. I'm just trying to be like a circus clown at home. Keeping them entertained when they WANNA be with their friends and all that so just locked in on that and then at night like after they go to bed. We kinda decompress. Maybe I'll read the news real quick trying to see where we're at and handle adult things but for most of the day. I mean I'm just trying to do whatever I can keep the kids entertain. There was an interesting story about you. I think it was twenty eight twenty nine when you were throwing in the shoe store. Can you tell us like that whole story in in looking back on it? Now like seeing your success and seeing where you've ended up now with the contract being in New York like how much has changed since then it tells that whole story. Yeah I guess it goes back to You know Twenty fifteen to be honest because that was the year that I got hurt. I had become close there. Yeah just become closer for the rockies like I was at the highest point in my career and blew out so when that happened that was like Oh Shit. Moment obviously spent the whole year We having and when I came back his pretty well the next year sixteen but I was burned out from the process It was just a long time. I put a lot of emotion into it so when I came back in seventeen I had a pretty lacklustre offseason for myself. Some things happened. I had a one year old at home and I wasn't used to that. It was the transition like throwing partner situation deteriorated and I just came in and I thought my ability would be there and I ended up being pretty trash Right out of the gate and I just couldn't couldn't get. The ship turned around so once the team started. Not Trusting me anymore like come about August. I started thinking about what to do the next year and I said You know the off season is the key I to set up a better situation where You know I can actually improve and get this. You know things straightened out so I was looking like for a space that I could rent. just invest myself space. Like A rant getting my own head space work by myself. Use some technology. Do whatever I needed to do to kind of like what was wrong with me and You know lucky enough. I was able to get that spot in Harlem. That was like an empty shoe space. It was super super like sketchy but it was exactly what I needed. You know like I was able to like blackout. The windows. People didn't know what was going on in. There was always spot on the block with the windows blocked out you know. I'm just saying yeah. Yeah it.

"I mean going up gotta be full on low football In Yeah I mean I slow the ever since I was a little kid so two sport athlete football in high school. Was there ever a point where you're like? They're just getting really fucking big and I'm not getting. I don't think I'm getting as big as them like for me to be like. What point were you like? Yeah let's just stick to the Sandlot here because dad like Yo Buddy. Come back so. My Dad was an incredible football player in high school. I've ever wanted to do was play football. So he always encouraged me playing football for split-second in high school hours Recruiting process. Baseball is like you know what I'm GonNa see what school they play both in so Pretty much all schools. Like no no no Notre Dame where ended up going was like screw it like you can walk on. Mike. You're not going to be very good and I think it was like two months later. I think my senior might have ended in football now like like. There's no chance in the I'm just going to be a scout. T- hero I'M GONNA go on special teams get lit up and offer what this whole baseball has to lead the team in punt return yardage in scrimmages and that's not necessarily golden helmet. You know not having many concussions. Concussions what did you did you look at the Samara situation though. And you're like look you could do it. I could. Are you running out there? Though I got you slotted best. Yes Yeah I love Gypsum. Rj Brady Quinn. That era when thumb locally the Notre Dame football Jeff's Amarjit. Did it Golden Tate? Did it not in? Then you look at those type of caliber of athletes and the size needed night. Didn't really Compared to him so I just Kinda of writing all I have a question then if you could pick one sport to have hall of fame talent in not a hall of fame career because you just you have hall of fame talent but you're running the risk of the injury. Whatever else like depending on the sport you can have hall of fame talent in one sport. What are you picking basketball? Oh okay that's I mean. I grew up playing sports. I just think baffles me. I think basketball's probably most athletic sport. So when you have the hall of fame tools via great basketball player I think this applies to a lot of other sports and I just think it'd be unkown. I love playing basketball now. Haven't been able to play pickup since like High School College. A little bit but sure do not so because entertainers and athletes. I feel like always goes through this spiderman. Mean like I wanna be I WANNA be right the rappers WANNA be the athletes. The Athletes WanNa be the musicians so let me take that question. One step further multi-platinum recording artist or hall of Fame Athlete. Which one are you picking and why because the entertainment industry and Athlete Industry Athletic Lifestyle? They're very similar but very different because of the demands. The schedule. Like there's some flexibility and freedom if you're just up on stage and giving the people what they want supposed to happen to shop yard each and every day there's different things. So which route are you going? I think I I'd stick to being an athlete. I think As artists knew a.

"Hopefully some unique storylines because they can't they can't fight they can't get to it. It's going to be crazy. The the can't fighting is going to be funny. Because I think we're all kinds of prepared for you. Know the the line of relievers to roll out and just want one in me wack where y'all got another one emmy where me. That's that's what's coming and there's not going to be any chance of retribution for those guys. So maybe some relievers in the astros bullpen. Some of those guys might have some nice watchers at the end of this year job. Like I don't know I mean even if they didn't have this like no fighting rule I don't know that very many guys in the Astros would actually go out. There was going to do slash. They have they have that role that rules rules on the books. Yeah you're not supposed to time you're not supposed to fight like without a pandemic or with the pandemic. There's there's a rule against definitely a rule against that But the penalties for much harsher this time around but yeah like character wise. I don't think I don't think the Astros have very many guys that would actually had on out there. I see George Springer Guy. That's like no you're not. GonNa just fucking light me up three times in a ball game. That's not happening. I'M GONNA come out after that second time. I think the only guy can see doing it. Rettig I don't know I love me some bread and I appreciate his love for the ultimate warrior and for all things wwe. But I feel like red might be the one to run out there and there might be reevaluating the like. I don't know I want to be here right now. Actually you know what maybe maybe usually Yuli Gurriel. I'd love to see him. Get after I WANNA see. That hair flap around. He's a big boy. We little fuller. He's a big boy But I guess we're not GonNa see that at all. I guess. Guess guess the Astros are just going to get outside the fuck up. I'm here I'm here for the. I'm here for the walk off celebrations. What's that GONNA look like? Yeah like you ever see that movie. Year one yeah. Everyone's just going to have to lobby to like clapping is invented yet like grazing. That's that's that's GonNa Happen. Someone's GonNa hit a walk off and they're all going to be six feet apart starting in like section one zero two banning all the way up the line to section two thirty four standing. There just hand radically what they're gonNA do. We're GONNA see some weird shit but I'm ready for. I'm ready for it if the if that's what they WANNA do. Were here for it and hopefully hopefully. It's not too crazy travel wise. Because I mean I'd still love to be able to get out there. And and be a part of these these games and From media perspective. Yeah I don't I don't know how much of that is. They gotTA GOTTA COME UP WITH A. They got to come up with the routine here. They have got to come up with some way to figure out how to take care of one of their most precious commodities obviously the players but the fans as well so when you think about coming up with routines really jer. There's only one thing that I start to think about. What is it well? I think about skincare routines I think about hair routines looks great about it. I'm glowing if I'M GONNA if I'm if I'm honest right now our friends at Roman Absent over some stuff and oh I feel like I'm pregnant. It looks like I'm pregnant anyway. That's how much I'm glowing if you've been dealing with acne. This dark spots may be if you're pregnant. You got some of that going on. Maybe some wrinkles is your oldest fuck.

"It's like living in an area that doesn't have water and you have zero fear of flood right well. Now we've had heavy rain for a week. All the sudden breaks. My House has just been swept away. And that's an act of God. I didn't have flood insurance. You WanNa know who cares nobody. Nobody gives a fuck. Nobody cares about that. That's actually outlined by the insurance companies called an act of God. It says in small-print right next to it where bitch. That's that's what that's what it says on my insured Bali. Where bitch if you don't have it so I mean you're you're right man. This is just a it was an it was an ugly opening. It was an ugly presentation of the back and forth of what some of the problems looked like. And it's unfortunate that the biggest takeaway for the public has been a quibble over dollars and I just want people again understand that everybody in this world has fought to get where they're at. Everybody in this world likes to think of themselves as great at what they do and deserving to be compensated as such this is this is a This is a matter of giving ground to make something happen and also standing your ground to ensure that what you have fought for is not taken away overnight in in haste just to try to bring some sort of resolution to what we're dealing with. You gotta be very careful. Yeah you do have to be very careful and that goes for the new rules. They're proposing if major league baseball should return would love to get your thoughts on some of these Dallas team. Personnel would be prohibited from eating at restaurants during ROAD TRIPS. traditional exchange lineup. Cards would be eliminated. So no Jim. Joyce moments here with a Garuda High fives fist bumps hugs tobacco. Use IN SPITTING SUNFLOWER. Seeds would be prohibited New Baseball's anytime a ball is putting play or touched by multiple players. Players was must wear masks while sitting six feet apart in the dugout and wash or sanitize their hands after each half inning Water jugs in the use of saunas steam rooms pools in cryotherapy. Chambers would be prohibited Temperature screenings would be conducted every single day. Essential team personnel would be tested for corona virus. At least twice a week Do you think that This is feasible. So here's the I'll give you two answers based on what I think would ensure safety over. The course of an entire season played out. Do I think it's feasible? No Do I think you're actually going to have thirty teams worth of personnel at fifty or more give or take fifty or less. I don't think you're going to be able to make sure that all of those guys at no point in time over the course of four months went to a red robin after a ball game. Because that's what was open and I hope you realize that as far as what's available to the players in terms of preparing themselves and recovering and healing. That's a huge deal. Folks a huge deal because when I get off the training table after receiving treatment on my shoulder modalities ultrasound. Whatever it may be that gets cleaned off wiped off and the guy who's been talking shit to me for ten minutes right next to the training room. He's going to get on that table right after I did so. He's going to get onto the same table I'm getting on. He's going to be using the same instrument that I was just used or just had used on me and it's probably going to be by the same. Do the same person in that room. That's all good to go away now. Like no cryotherapy. I mean jared. I don't know if you've ever experienced what trial can do for the body but there's a reason that there's a fucking line to the chamber after ballgame because that's shit is real and now that's gone so you're gonNA need fifty players. Why because ten to fifteen of them or have come up with a lower body cramp injury type Shit Berry very soon very early on if they can't prepare the way that they're used to and they can't recover the way that they're used to my favorite rule of all. This was pitchers. Bring your own. Baseball's bring your own bucket baseball. So should we be? I feel like honestly of all people in the world to disapprove of this year. You're the last person lists like if it's your mound. You should have your own baseball's as well though dude. I the minor leagues. I actually May I. This lasted for one start. I was Gung Ho about it but it lasted for one start. I found this old briefcase and I packed my glove into this briefcase and brought it to the field that day like a fucking businessman right like I'm here to do business. I Open my briefcase case this fucking glove. Well yeah that was like the mentality right so yeah I need a video of that or at least a photo to be able to walk out but like what would you're hurt and you're playing catching shit out in Arizona and the finally trying to get your arm back. You're using what sixty brand new pearls because you're throwing into a net foot sixty feet away. You don't need anybody to do that. It's just Do there's there's there's so many moving parts to this. There's so many like what's crazy is. I talked about all this. You're fucking three months ago when all of this was I said. Think about the ball sports folks think about the ball sports. What's GonNa Happen? How many people are allowed to touch the baseball because the UMPIRES GONNA throw it to me? That's two people that have already touched it. Now I'm GonNa throw to the catcher. That's three right or be good or does he have to hit it or what happens. What if he hits it back to me and I catch it Do I keep the ball or do we go back to what Major League? Baseball is done where I just throw that one out now or is it like we revert back to college. I throw something off the back. Stop I get that ball back. Fuck yeah me the SCUFF WATCH LIPS? Yeah that's a I don't know how many players do you think are actually rooting for the season to just be cancelled because they don't want to deal with all this shit so it's funny. You ask that because I have been talking like over the last week and it's weird because this is how I know shit starts to pick up. This is how I know. Shit's getting real is when my phone starts to ring is start to get text messages from guys. And they're asking me questions and it's because they're hearing things and they WANNA see or confirm how real it is how true it is and then you start to get their opinions on it like wary at. What have you been doing bro? I haven't done Shit Bro? I haven't swung back or Bro. I'm only doing this right so they're not excited about like trying to cram in a entire springs worth of preparation in an abbreviated timeframe. And they're definitely not excited for reasons. I outlined in terms of preparing the body and recovering the body. Because they feel like this is going to be like starting a race where you don't do any warm up laps you just turn the car on and pedal to the we're doing two hundred and forty miles an hour right out of the gate. Were not warming up like you could blow a gasket like that. She could go bad. How bad do you think and obviously I mean like no one wants to see this. No one wants to be right about this if you do feel this way. Do you think there's GonNa be a wave of injuries right at the start of the thing? I don't know about the start. I'll say I'll say two weeks into it. Two to three weeks into a because what you'll have is you'll have a week and a half to weeks of guys feeling it and trying to fight through it and then they're going to realize you know what man hold on hold up. I didn't even have time to prepare. I definitely don't want to put myself behind the eight ball going into next season. All for what shortened season right. Now I have no idea what that looks like. I don't know that I'm on board with that. I don't know that I wanted to do that to myself. My Body or my future. So there's going to be dude. Yes there's going to be a lot of people who were like you know what hundred sixty two games the ability to prepare. Yeah I could battle through this I can throw through this tendonitis right now. Because I know I've got two more months tacked onto the season they'll be able to get through but if I've got tendonitis right now and I'm barking three weeks into a truncated season. I don't know that I'm trying to throw through that. Yeah I mean it's it is interesting that we've we've done a lot of interviews with guys in quarantine from doing like the rock paper scissors videos talking to guys like what they're up to the intern. Because I've I've asked all of them like. Where are you add in terms of your preparation for Baseball Season? Everyone had different answer. It's like no one is on the same page with this I. It's it's been a fascinating case. Study in terms of like I'm throwing bullpens regularly I'm hitting like fucking like Nolan. Are An auto is training like game one of the world series tomorrow like that's where that guys at there's other players that have told me. I haven't picked up a bat since they told to go home and spring like all over the map all over the map. So I think it's I think it's more interesting with with pitchers versus position players. But there are guys that are just fucking talked about with with Bryce Harper in our interview. you know he said. I haven't had this much time to prepare for a season forever. The guy is setting up personal records with with his with his his lifts his dead eleven lazy. So you guys that are gonNA come in to the baseball season and be more physically ready to go than they've ever been. And then you're GonNa have guys like Wolf Shit. Maybe I maybe I should have prepared a little bit better So I don't know I mean I think it's going to be one of those. Just weird things about baseball. Baseball and itself is a weird sport like I actually One of my friends is from Ireland so trying to he's never seen a baseball game before And without the visual I was trying to just explain baseball to him like. Can you explain the rules? Can you explain like what it's about and like I'm trying to do it verbally and you can't like it's one of those things where you have to be sitting down watching it and then. I have to explain to you what just happened like that's look teach baseball. Yes is let them ask the questions what they're wondering about. Why did he why is he out or what is why. Why did he not have to tag him right there? The ESA tag them other times like. Yes that's how you answer because if I tell you it's a force out you're going forced what for force be with you for who force what. Yeah so it's it's It's very funny like I was dying laughing trying to explain baseball without the visual. But that's that's what baseball is very it's not like hey one guy takes the ball and they shoot it in the hoop and that's really it. They take the stick. You fucking slap the puck in the net. And if you do it more than the other guys do it. Then you fucking win But yeah I it's I think it's going to be a unique season. Think we're GONNA see a lot of stuff that perhaps we've never seen before different strategies. Hopefully some unique storylines because they can't they can't fight they can't get to it. It's going to be crazy. The the can't fighting is going to be funny. Because.

"Story to is passing. Rose Rosenthal passing. What about? What about Mardi Mush? Yeah yes that's that's where the one guy in the quarter smoking a cigarette and you don't get a light on his face you just get a silhouette and into puff of smoke comes up and it's a slow exhale and it's just one name who do we go to. Bush like too much. How do we get to the streets on this? There's only one man rocket the mush so I mean I didn't have the heart to tell them but I'm sure whoever you're talking to on this is very important. I'm sure it's very important trusted source. That person has no fucking clue what's going to happen. Look this is what I wanted to. Somebody hurdles that we have to get over before a decision like that can be made Just wanted to go did Stroz send you video of his bullpen. Like is that what you're going on here? We all want the game to get into a place where yeah. You're thinking what it's going to be here. It's real some interesting things occurred yesterday. Jared here in California Oncle Gavin newsom. The governor and this is why to your point you just. You can't pin the tail on this donkey right now. 'cause it is quite literally a jackass running around blind and three days ago or a week ago. I was told you're going to be staying in your house till August by stay at home order in California till August. That was four days ago yesterday playing baseball in July we went from stay at home until August two. Yeah I could see you guys playing professional sports in California with no fans in July so like again wherever you are on this decision wherever you want it to fall. I think we all are on the same side there. We all want sports back but to think that you have an inside track or have an idea how it's going to go when you're going from stay at home for the next three months to ninety six hours later you're able to play pro sports and that same state it's like well fuck. Yeah I I I got nothing for you. I don't even know what to tell you. I we're all just spectating at this point. That's why that's why it's going to be so hard in said that there are so many hurdles to this every state can can do their own thing so it's like all right you want to be a league in the League can say all right. We're coming back and in this amount of time and it's like all right. What if what? If you can't in certain states they just going to have to figure out. Like what ballpark the schedule making is going to be a fucking nightmare. If you WANNA come back in July in some states aren't even open yet about the nightmare that you just talked about jared at the All star break we get a look at what twenty twenty one schedule looks like right. We know what twenty twenty one is going to look like At that point in time so about trying to condense all of those logistics into like a month and a half worth of efficient travel effective travel and also travel that meets the protocol standards put in place. The crazy protocol standards put in place to ensure not only safety of the players in the team personnel but the public or the working public who would be a part of putting these games on there. There is so much red tape to get through here. Yeah I just I don't know I mean I I just find it fascinating that we can all be so plugged into the very same and no one has an answer that winds up with someone else's because I think that that shows just how small the group of year Sayers or naysayers is when it comes to this and what you start to realize is a lot of the noise surrounding a lot of the peripheral. Noise is just really strong opinions coming from places that do have information like somebody in front office somewhere. They're hearing rumblings about will. Let me tell you. Look the owners are the one? The majority owners are the ones receiving those phone calls. The majority owners are the ones that are communicating. Back and forth on what? They need to do what they'd like to see happen with the commissioner and really nobody else so the owners right hand man. He might know what he's he doesn't know what you think. He knows he doesn't know what you wanted to know. Because he's not the ultimate gay or Naysayer. Yeah I think what's what's happening here and So I will say this the when Trevor Plouffe had that report about whatever it was like June tenth in July I I got a text from someone within baseball like three days before that with the exact same dates. Like here's here's what's being discussed So whoever PLOUFFE was talking to we were right in sync with that. And then you got this Mardi Moishe tweet and all these other people that so. Here's what I think is happening. I think that people decision makers Executives League officials. I think what they're doing is just throwing out a bunch of different scenarios. A bunch of different ideas a bunch of different options and playing everything out on the table because they have to explore all options if they want to get this done and then bits and pieces of those discussions are getting leaked back to certain people and then People are running with these reports. Like this is what they're gonNA do and it's like well. That was probably just one option that they discussed out of fifty like over the weekend like that's what I think is happening. It's you telephone game. That's exactly what it is and it's it's your piece mailing information regarding what the steps the progress could look like and you start to get out of line and you start to put step four ahead of step two and now you're just you know there's a lot of questions that come along One of the things I think we're forgetting and all this when we have people coming up like all right. Here's the date that they're going to start and they're going to report back on this date and they're gonNA start on this date. We haven't even figured out the fucking the money yet. No trust me. That is where that is where the biggest issue lies and you have to understand players right now. Want something in front of them. That tells them we are not being capped. Now we are not going to be kept in the future and if there is a desire to implement some sort of safeguard that even closely resembles a cap. We need to have it in writing that that goes away next. Season is not something that stands pat. Because that's what the players will not do when you have fought long and hard to gain ground and position within your Union within your workforce. You do not relinquish that progress. You do not give that progress up and that is where we're at right now is something I saw and I wanNA make sure that a lot of the folks listen to understand this as well. It's not like the players were blindsided by the owners coming back and wanting more money after they found out that fans were not going to be in the stands. That was a caveat in the agreement. Discussion question how many players knew that. It gives the owners the ability to go back to. Hey guys look. This was in writing. It says right here that if this very scenario unfolds we was IRV the right to come back to the negotiating table and try to figure this out and the players are saying look. That's great but we agreed to something and now you want to take more money out of our. And now where? So if I in sues the. Here's what we're the cross happens. So if you're not familiar with with what has gone on between the owners and the players year The players agreed to a deal. Where if Major League baseball were to start up at any point this year That the players would get a pro rated rate for the Games that they play this year. Fair one hundred percent fair fair then sort of what was kind of being pushed by Scott. Boras was that Now because There will be no fans and owners and teams are going to be taking a hit revenue that on top of the prorated rate which is a pay cut The players are GONNA have to lop off like another thirty three percent on top of that and it was perceived. It was presented to the public as if the players owners had to agreed to this. Deal that no matter what the players are. Getting A PRO-RATA RATE. That's it now. They're trying to walk it back. That's not actually what happened in the original agreement. It was agreed upon that. Hey if we have fans in the stands you guys get your prorated salary if there are no fans we're going to have to come back to the negotiating table and discuss what we're going to pay you. So that was a big misconception. Us This is from the. Ap says that deal is contingent on playing in front of fans at regular season. Ballparks agreement committed both sides to discuss in good faith the economic feasibility of playing games in the absence of spectators or at appropriate neutral sites so the agreement basically says if their fans you get your money prorated done deal if there aren't fans we need to discuss what you're going to be paid because we got gotta meet in the middle somewhere so the narrative that was out there originally and this was part of like the Blake. Snell video where players were upset that that owners wouldn't be paying the players full and I still see their side of it. I still see their side of it because if if it were me. I feel like if you're the owner of a team that means that you're the owner of a business and you don't see these business owners out here getting fucking a bail out from their employees being like. Hey let's meet in the middle like I'll I'll give you some of my salary so that you can recoup some of your money as an owner. It's like when you own a business. You WanNA team that their risks involved in that and this is a risk you sign these players for the number that that contract says and I think for them to even say hey Mean it safe for example right say you sign pitcher to a thirty million dollar one year deal and then he he needs fucking Tommy John Surgery and he plays Zero Games for you. Guess what you own that I think. About guaranteed contracts and for the players to say. Hey we're only playing x amount of game so I'll take the rate based on the Games that were playing. That's fair and if there aren't any fans you can't blame the players for that you're you're the owner your team. It's your business..

He's saying fifty fifty so when people were asking me. What do you think? I'm kind of in the middle of fifty fifty and zero percent. I think there's a chance and I think why I sort of believe that. Assad Trevor. Bauer got a tweet in the last week or so. Hey what are the chances you think that baseball is getting play this year? "I believe all home blue. Jay Games are going to be blacked out across Canada. And that means that people who have TV will only be able to watch away games of the Blue Jays and and they'll be does this because there's kind of an overlap with Local TV stations and local providers of the game that they broadcast the game obviously in their local market and they want people subscribing to the TV channel and not subscribing to em TV. So I think that's why they do it but a lot of people have been complaining about this myself included because we watch baseball from EM TV and now the only other way to watch baseball At least for me for someone who doesn't have TV is sportscenter now. Which is I'm you guys probably know better than I do but I think it's like thirty dollars a month which is more expensive them. Mlb TV MLB TV. Is I believe it's it'd be a hundred and twenty or one hundred fifty dollars a year that goes from like spring training last week February. Twenty second two. I mean all the postseason games are blacked out but the end of the regular season so I up Tober so you have all these months. It's IT works out cheaper and instead of just being able to watch bluejays games you can watch any game in baseball So yeah it is really sad. That like they're blacking out. All these games to me doesn't make sense from a marketing perspective for baseball Because you're losing out on a lot of fans who would be watching the game and you complain about the pace of play and all that stuff when you're blocking out baseball games to the people who are actually going to be the fans of that team Anyways so what are you guys thinking about this? Well yeah and it's it's something that you know it makes sense because even beyond sports net now are MLB TV based off of everything you know this the streaming were now. You've got you know example. Got Netflix Got Disney. Plus you got. Hbo Max You Got Crave. Tv You got Apple TV plus you got espn. Plus I can keep going on and on and on and it's the time of streaming wars and people want you to subscribe to what they their product and in this case. Roger just wants you to subscribe a sports now they WanNa build up sports net now the subscriptions and they want. That's how that's unfortunate. The only way you're GONNA be able to watch JAYS Games off on the go rather than actual sports net on cable and again. It's something that you know. Based off of Rogers at Stamford something. That seems to be where they will be something that they're going to be making a lot of money off of depend on how how on how successful. It is so not only. Are you going to be subscribing to sportscenter now on a monthly fee rather than Ama-? Btv like you said you. You already told spoke with the prices. You can only watch bluejays games. You can't watch actual other teams play baseball. You can't watch You CAN'T WATCH THE YANKEES. Take on the Red Sox. You can't watch other Other Games and you know I'm sure a lot of us are in the same boat as you guys and not every listener as well watches every single baseball game or other teams but there's also a good chunk of people who like to watch the Jays of course but they also like to follow the League. They also like to watch other games. And that's the that's what you mentioned. That's where the problem will be about fans that's where it's GonNa you know about the growth of the game and so on and so on and actually James used to be a black donor Amilton Btv but they got the the restriction came off in the mid two thousand and tens and actually the subscription packages based off of the numbers here became a lot more popular when the Jays were able to not be blocked on TV anymore and based off of the J. standpoint sure you know every other market and I think Mark Shapiro even said this every other team every other market deals with black problems by when you when you see other teams sure but when you compare it to the Jays it's in my opinion it's different especially because our perspective of being Canadian. You Know Baseball candidate this Canada's only team If you want you know the markets bigger than usual because it's a country you need people being invested more to the game if you want this game to grow if you want the market to continue to to grow and be popular and so on and so on you want people to be going to games more you know rather rogers cares or not or the management cares about. Jay is not selling out every night like they used to It's not a good look on the fans and it's not a good look anywhere across the league and what you want. Is You want more popularity toward not only the sport but in the case in our bias herb sorry in our perspective the market and unfortunately this is something that is going to happen where it's just goes for anything else in life. Now you need to subscribe to this product. You need to subscribe to this service and so on and so on monthly fees rather than you know as k apparently cables on its way out a clearly but you know still have just turning on the TV and watching the game you know. I'm not on the go doing this and doing that all the time. Especially in the summer watching the Jays. If you can't watch the game you can't watch the game but I'M NOT GONNA go out of my way to subscribe sports net now for sure rather than will be. Tv where you get again like. You said you get to watch every game. And that's the problem there for actual baseball fans who not only. WanNa watch the Jays but they want to watch every other team as well but sports now. You can't do that and that just takes it away of you having to spend more money to keep TV for no reason to watch the Jays but that's the only other way you can watch other teams place so it's a complicated situation as much as it's complicated it makes sense because again the streaming wars now as I guess it's kind of the future of TV who knows what's going to happen and again. I know there's other teams that are blocked out all the time and You know from a Canadian perspective as well If you WANNA just make a quick example of how the NHL does things on T. ascendance sports net In our market as I'm in the Toronto Market You can only watch leaf games. And there's nights where the leafs don't play and you see Ottawa. See Two senators taking on a random team if you want to click the channel. It's blacked out and it's you know every time I do it. I know it's blocked but it's just something that you know it's it it's frustrating and it's just because the leafs aren't honor your favorite team or so on there's still there's still other interests to watch other teams play and unfortunately being blacked out at you know it's one of the worst feelings turning clicking the channel and it's completely black saying you know restricted in your area so on and so on but it's a way for these markets to make money and quite frankly it's unfair for the fans. I think mark you brought up a really interesting point when you said that it's it's funny how the League is doing all these things to increase their The amount of people that watch baseball yet. They're literally not allowing them to watch it through the their streaming service. I think it's honestly really stupid because I think Bryson you said something like this where the Blue Jays are candidates only team so if you completely blackout people from watching those games will there is a lot of people that are going to watch that as opposed to a any other city in the in the US where the other twenty nine teams are twenty. I think but anyways all of the if you blackout Mariners Games than I. It's not really that big of a problem because there's still a lot of other you know it's not like the mariners take up the entire. West coaster north west coast of the of the of the League however if you blackout the Blue Jays Games will. That's literally every Blue Jay fan in Canada and I mean I know there are some people that are not blue Jays fans in Canada but the majority of the people are so. If you WANNA do that I mean I guess from the leaks perspective. That's just one of their teams. They still a lot of other teams and they solve. You know the other missing out on money but from their perspective. It's not you know it's not like a supreme. It's like a huge amount but I think it's honestly stupid because like you said now if I'm a consumer I personally don't have that problem just because I do use cable And I I have the bell APP on my phone so I can just watch whatever I want Through my TV. But if you if I go away next year and I don't have cable I'm not GonNa you know if I'm living on my own. I'm not going to buy it. You know but I still want to watch sports and if I can't watch TV. Than but I still WANNA watch the other teams. You know. It doesn't make sense because now you're basically paying double the price to watch your Toronto teams as well as every other team in the league and I just think that's honestly really you know it's stupid if you're a consumer but I don't think it's going to change unfortunately just because these guys own a lot of the market they're gonNA do whatever they want to keep people subscribe to them and I just. I don't like that idea honestly that they're doing this. You're just frustrating people to a point where they don't subscribe there's just all around just does not make sense to me at all Two things go in more depth embracing you mentioned that before the Blue Jays weren't blackout in the reason for that was because Paul Beeston Former president the Blue Jays and he was a very vocal advocate of not having these bluejays games blacked out because he understood at least from a business perspective that the team survives on the people who watch the Games. So if you're taking away thirty million people across Canada that can no longer watch this game. It's the things are not going to go well and Just a second thing I talked about this on twitter but this is driving people away from MLB and people who would have been giving their money their one hundred twenty one hundred and fifty dollars whatever it is to MLB and instead they're going to be sure some of them are going to be giving their money to sports net now but a lot of them are just gonNa be giving their money or nothing money but there is to illegal streaming sites so you're driving people away from the things that create revenue for you as an organization and as a team and you are redirecting them to ways where no one wins where it's the ABC producers in the the illegal streaming sites that win and nothing associated with Major League Baseball. So this makes no sense. And it's been a problem for years and years Hasn't been a problem for the Blue Jays but it's been a problem for other teams. I think there's a few locations in Iowa if you go there where four major league teams are blacked out. It's insane and all this is because Oh we want fans to go to the game instead of watching it on TV. Oh we want fan student. Subscribe to their local providers. Note you're just going to get young fans who are only watching this on TV. Who instead are going to realize they can do it for free illegally and it's so frustrating. Lots of things that frustrate me today. and yeah and we're all in the same boat there with you know. I'm sure none of us are GONNA lie. You know if you watch the game rather than you know going on sports than I think I think all of us know what I think. Any of you guys know you know. It's pretty straightforward answer. And it's pretty straightforward strategy and people aren't GonNa go out of their way like if you see the game is blocked out. I guarantee there's a good half of people that won't go out of their way to go on sports that now and watch the game you know they're going to put there is somewhere else you said. Rather than what else is on TV with cable or they're going to legal streaming sites. It's not like every single person's go out of their way to make sure they're a subscriber sportscenter now say they can watch the Jays because it only frustrates people with the market being blacked out and like I've said before I used to live in the Boston area. And when the bluejays were playing in Boston the Games who blocked out and I'll take full disclosure for this. Please no interest me but I would watch a legal streams of the games because when although I like obviously prefer to watch on. Mlb DOT COM. Because it's what first off it's better quality. It's obviously I'm already paying for it and I can't really watch these streams on my phone so am with MLB TV. I can so that's why I'd get AMMO. Btv But then. Like if I if the Games were blacked out. That's what I would turn to because as I said I don't have cable so again. Look you're losing so much money in so many fans and It's just so stupid to me anyways. We'll end there for today Thank you to everyone. Who.

"Learn this position but you need to What's the word you need to practice with both positions as well as prove you're hitting and as well as all those things and I just feel like that might overcome? Like I said over complicate things for him might get into his head thinking. Okay well I have so many things to worry about. And then he'll just end up Not Performing at the level that we expect him to because he's so focused on playing everywhere. It'd be different if he was more of a super utility guy that just kind of played everywhere in order to stay in the lineup Where because then it would work. But for this case he's going to be their second baseman and it just doesn't make sense to me. Why if you have a guy that's going to play there then why you want to move him the place because I just like. I think that would over complicate things for him completely and if things are over complicated then I think he might not perform at the level that he he knows that he can and that we know that he can and then maybe in the if they make the playoffs this year or next year. Whatever if they're still trying to do that to him who knows what that could do to him. That might you know if they need him in a clutch. Actually I'm getting a little too far ahead of myself. But if they were to need him to come up clutch you just you never know if all the wear and tear would get him a little quicker than you you would have hoped. Yeah if this works than I mean. Great like EB I. I think we can safely. Compare this to Laura's Gorell Junior. Because he of course was an infielder he was predominantly second base and the Blue Jays moved him Because the the obviously he wasn't great defensively there but they moved into left field and it worked out great. They sent him down. He got his Reps. He worked on his game and he came back up as you know. Dramatically improved player who held his own in not just offensively but also defensively. But I don't think that's the case Kevin Bijou Kevin. Joe Has the ability to do that. But I don't think they need to do this. I think the risk of doing this is far greater than the reward. You look at just primarily the chances of injury if you're moving to territory that you're not used to playing And more in depth using muscles that you're not used to using in certain ways and and doing things you're not used to doing the odds of an injury increase and I don't see the reason why the bluejays should be willingly increasing the odds of that when they could just as easily be happy with him at at his position But there are so many ways that could go wrong. Because instead of focusing on improving his hitting improving his defense in the infield now he's going to be working on learning it completely new position that you know who knows how often they're even going to use in there. It's just I don't understand why they would want to do this because he's already so good. You can only get worse if you try to mess with a success. So I don't understand why they would try to move him to a different position like again if it works great but there's so many chances of it not working. I don't it just doesn't make sense to me. I can't wrap my head around why the Blue Jays would be doing this and messing with something. That's already success and again the key the key to that as well as I mentioned it and you just mentioned as well it depends on how often they actually plan to do this. And you know the comparison to that we've mentioned again. It's completely different from last year because I wasn't throwing away games or making constant Ariza a day or night were were. He was playing. Wherever was at second base. Lawrence Korea on the other hand was struggling. I was affecting him his him all around the Jays benched him a few times based on performance and then again it led to a demotion to the minor leagues for what almost a month and came up a brand new player. But you know with. Bg Like you said he's he's already good enough defensively. And You wonder how you know because you have a pretty sustainable outfield with rand. Grischuk at Center Field Richard. Usually you know he plays almost every day. And if you're GONNA you don't really how do you feel about You know other players playing center field like you just wonder like how like. How often is this going to happen? Is GOING TO BE PLAYING CENTER FIELD EVERY TIME? Grischuk needs a day off because you know Tejas Graffman end as he's already you know he's already a player who's seems to you. Know he has its ups and downs in the outfield and not a lot of people are comfortable with him in Centerfield. Not a lot of people are comfortable with them in the outfield period. So again it all depends on how much they plan to do this. And if they don't plan to oftens why you know I don't see why they would wanna do this to begin with and waste a roster spot when you can carry a fourth outfielder who you know who has enough experience at You know who's played it throughout their whole career again if they want to make this a thing where it. It's almost you know it's a IT'S A. It's more often than not than I guess you can. You can understand it but if they want to make this something. That is very rare and again. It's all it's all part of an experiment but if they wanna make the something. That doesn't happen often. I don't see why you. Us A- roster spot on that and carry an extra infielder when should be carrying an extra outfielder? Who's more WHO's played? And what Bijou again. He hasn't played since high school. You don't know how he's GonNa React We don't know how he's doing right now again. The Games not televised so I guess. All the best analysis we can get is just from people on twitter and You know you hope he does well and again. It's it's definitely a risk and if it pays off a pays off but how much more beneficial is it even if it works. And that's where I don't I still don't quite understand what they're thinking. Maybe that maybe this this could be as far as we know. This could just be an experiment and we never hear about it again throughout the season or this could be something that they're legitimately serious about in something that could work but I just don't see you know why like I don't. I don't understand why you have your infield solidified with us you at second base to begin with with shortstop and Vlad at third base in Shah taken reps at first base. Bijl can even play first base. We saw him play there a few times last year. So it's just it's it's interesting because when you move Centerfield who's going to be playing. You know who's going to be playing second base every time he's in center villages of mixing and matching. And you just wonder what Charlie went toil and the rest of the j actually thinking about this. Yeah I guess maybe you have Travis shots second base which I mean could work if he's actually performing but like who knows and like just did enumerate why Laura's core yelled junior experiment worked when this experiment probably won't work Laura's correal junior was like you said he was making Ariza every day. He was not good in the Infield and the Blue Jays had to change something. They wanted to keep his bat in the lineup. But they obviously didn't like his defense so they had to fix something so they did. They gave him a month in AAA and and he fixed up his defense. He moved to left field and now he's amazing. He's a great player. Good that worked. You're going from something bad to something good in bijl. You already have something really good. Let me just break down his performance for you in twenty one thousand nine hundred. He made five errors. All five of them came before his fiftieth game. His Last Air Came on the fiftieth game of his season which came on July thirtieth after July thirtieth for the rest of the season for the rest of the forty. Six Games left. He didn't make a single air so like he's already such good defender and he's such a good hitter and I don't know why he would want to mess with this by making him focus on another position making a move to another position part of the time. Which could mess with his defense Again if it works great it's wonderful asset for the Blue Jays to have but they're just so many parts of this. That could go wrong that I don't think it's going to work and I I don't know why the Blue Jays WanNa mess with something that's already working see. I honestly don't even think that the Blue Jays need to do this just looking at their outfield. Because like you mentioned we know Richie's going to play Gurriel is going to take over in left. You mentioned to some people that are a little iffy about Oscar Hernandez but I still think he can be a very solid option But then they're they still have billy mckinney and Derek Fisher. So you kind of have five guys can spot swell four because they're gonNA have a fourth outfielder but if they want to use busy. Oh they're obvious. I don't think the immediate answer is to get rid of the four th outfielder but what are you supposed to tell outfielder? Now you're going to get less playing time because we're going to use somebody else that's not even outfielder to take over your position. I just don't think that makes a lot of sense Just because the blue's already have a nice amount of outfielders. I just keep visu areas. He's good at what he does. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Yeah exactly. It just doesn't make sense to try to change something that's already working And I don't know if this is a decision that Charlie Montoya's making I don't know if this is a decision that Ross Atkins is making if there's other people in the coaching staff that are encouraging this I just don't see the reasoning and I mean I can try to give them the benefit of the doubt because obviously they know a lot more than we do And they are lot smarter than we are but I from our perspective. It just doesn't seem to make sense But anyways we've run out All the ideas Alan Just for final topic just to to touch on it before we go Mlb TV a lot of people watch baseball myself included on TV. But recently this off season it was announced that.

"Yamaguchi is making a second serve as we record today and again we you mentioned Mark Napier and while through his first start against the Yankees very impressive and You know you just hope the you get to see these guys. Were these guys throughout the spring especially later in the spring as close to the season. Your I think you guys in the other with Anthony Alfred. Because that's the one guy that has really disappointed a lot of people especially with his defense. He's made a handful of blunders. That should have been easy. Plays already And of course in the first game this spring he did press. He Stole Second Base Third Base and home He pulled a Kevin Pillar there But the sides that he hasn't really had anything to show for his efforts I think he can make the major league roster but if he does he has to turn things around right now. I think if this kind of play keeps going with easy please had missed. I don't think he has any chance of making the major league roster which is a as you said it's unfortunate because he was supposed to be really good player but you know things just haven't worked out and Honestly I think this may be the end of the line for him with the Blue Jays if he doesn't make it to the majors this season Another player that was disappointed by not so much like his own performance. But just life was Ryan Brooke because He was kind of shutdown right at the beginning of pitchers and catchers reporting because he had elbow discomfort. You shut down for ten days and then that turned into fifteen days or whatever and eventually the bluejays said Even once he had started throwing on on flat ground. They said that he wouldn't make the major league starting rotation to start season because of the setbacks that he's had which I was really sad about we've talked about before in this podcast how I think all of us are really high on Baraki. And we all think he's going to be really good player but it was really disappointing that he got injured so early and He the Blue Jays weren't able To use his talents and aren't able to use his towns at least to start the season Yet massive disappointment with Ryan directly. Like you said you know you don't want him to turn into an injury prone pitcher but these past couple of years. You know you're starting to you know you're obviously thinking at an all time low about him right now but you know you're starting to hope that you don't hear the injury plagued injury-plagued word surrounding. I actually predict from you guys remember few weeks. We're making some of our projections. I I actually predicted. He would be the fifth starter of the Spring and obviously with the the early. You know the early setbacks and how he's been shut down already Jason Verdy ruled it out no matter even if he comes back to spring he will not be the fifth starter out of the out of the spring. So I guess you'd have to throw in some candidates like Yamaguchi turned thornton as well. I think it will be the guy now. I guess you can even consider Thomas Penon and some other people maybe Anthony K but anyways. I thought you know if Brady had healthy spring. I thought he was a lock for that fifth spot. I still believe that entering the spring and again it's it's disappointing Uses Pro Likely? GonNa Start the season. What would buff AAA Buffalo? Depending on how his rehab goes and I think you gotTa keep him down there for you. Know the first of the season you got to see a consistent Spotlit yet to see consistent starts from him For about a couple of weeks you know you hope maybe two or three starts at him and again it also depends on how the other pitchers do and whoever that fifth starter is all depends on how that goes but the more focus on Ryan. Baraki is him and his his performance itself rather than other players on the Jays. And I think you need to see you need to see it from him last year. He didn't make his debut until you know the middle to the end of summer. And he did. He didn't pitch while at all and He was quickly shut down. A few starts after for the rest of the season. So maybe he wasn't even healthy to begin with but he's somebody that went healthy he pitches. Good we've noticed that in a couple of years ago actually he. When he was first called up he had great starts He had some bad starts and you know he was somebody that you know a young arm that you are excited about any. Just don't WANNA BE. You don't want to call them. An injury prone player already. But unfortunately it's you know you're you're starting to think about it to that. Point is consistent elbow injuries and elbow tightness. All that setbacks is starting to really hover hover him at this point in you know. It's definitely a disappointment. Even though he hasn't pitched a game and at this point before the season or the sorry the end of the spring you hope he does get a couple of starts in and hopefully he can start the season in the minors on a healthy note at this point. Because you gotTA BE UNFORTUNATE. You got to be cautious with them. Now you're gonNA think of all the problems even you know when he says he feels good. Is He really healthy? I think we experienced that last year. Where you kind of rushed himself back even though he was out for a huge chunk of the season and he barely pitched so massive massive support. I completely agree with you and now that again leads to open competition for that. Start that fifth spot in the rotation and it'll be based off of spring performance. Yeah I think it's honestly very disappointing. Because this is a guy like we mentioned we do have high hopes for I think that it was kind of obvious. He would take the fifth spot like you said if he was healthy. But I mean it doesn't look like that now at least for the beginning of the season Unfortunately whenever I think of injury-plagued pitchers I will kind of always have Aaron Sanchez. In the back of my mind just because of everything that happened with him after twenty sixteen and the last thing we want is something like that so I think obviously very different issues fingernail in elbowed two completely different things but just the fact that he's constantly getting injured and they shut them down like almost instantly wants pitchers and catchers reported it. Just it in. The back of my mind gets me a little anxious thinking will. Is this going to happen again? Is he going to Rehab? You know hopefully do better and then just fall off again you know I. I really don't want that so I think the Blue Jays. Very cautious with him. I think they gotta learn from what happened with previous pitchers. Even if he says he's okay. You gotta get multiple opinions multiple doctors. If if that's what it takes to make sure that this guy is going to be able to consistently perform for you because right now I mean. Yeah you don't WanNa be injured because you're competing for a spot but I guess in a way it's not too bad right now because if you're injured it's not like the whole team this kind of screwed because you're not necessarily in a playoff spot while I mean it's spring training but you got him saying in the this season it's not like it's gonNA run out of the gate. We need this guy so he like. He has time to recover with electric pressure being on him to hurry up. But he's gotTa take this time and you just rest do do whatever he needs to do. Because to get back on the on the roster in in the rotation because like. I said we need this guy. We need pitchers they saw what could happen with a good rotation in two thousand sixteen. What would a bad rotation can look like in previous years and you know hopefully this guy can make some form of a comeback for himself where he's not always injured and he just he can sit at the back into the rotation and just put up number like put up good innings have a mid to high three. Ira whatever you know. Whatever the Blue Jays need hopefully he can do that but I think right now he just needs to rest and get back to where to where we believe he can get to You really don't WanNa see snowball into something more than it already is But moving on past just spring training. Arden's welling tweeted yesterday. As we're recording this quote bluejays are planning to get Kevin BG. Oh Ah game in center field. Next week he'll primarily plays second basis season but he could play some different positions here and they're based on matchups. That seems pretty wild news to me. When I heard this I couldn't really believe it and I'm surprised. It hasn't gotten more attention this spring because Kevin Bijou is obviously fantastic player. We've all seen that And he's doing well this spring so far but the bluejays are considering moving him or at least experimenting with him in different positions including Centerfield. Next week I I can't really wrap my head around why the bluejays would be doing this. What are you guys saying? Definitely fairly interesting when the news came out and the very first thing I saw is he hasn't played centerfield since high school. And that's that's a long time since he hasn't played in the field or at least Centerfield specifically but I guess when you think about it. I guess you know what you want. Is You know I guess people play multiple positions. It's always it's always beneficial to your team but you know the the poor also has to be successful in that area and if a player's successful successful in that area that can translate to a bunch of it does. It's it's not good for the team. We saw that last Lord of Scurry Up. Who is seems to be much better and more comfortable in the outfield than the Infield. But also you know if all goes well in the Jacomb in center field this can potentially impact a lot of things on the opening day roster and if you want to reference Anthony Alfred once again if they really like Bijou on the field that definitely limits. His Chances Again. Making the opening day roster. Even though I think at this point it's really slim and it also opens up more opportunities for other infielders who are competing for opening day roster spot nobody referenced. Da Joe Panic and Reuben data so I guess you gotTa keep them in the mix and it also when you think about it. You wonder how often he would play Centerfield as well. You don't know exactly when like certain days or certain situations I guess based on match ups but how often are you going to see him in? Centerfield and Games not televised. Today's unfortunately none of us can really analyze our. You know. See how he's done but I guess you you know definitely something that I'm interested in and curious about to check out the next time they're on TV and hopefully he's playing in the Centerfield Bijou. He's already he's already a core part to the rebuilding their future and if they want to move him around The diamond even more than they already could play multiple positions. We knew that. But Yeah Centerfield specifically interesting one bas- even based off over there Who already have in random grischuk expected to be the everyday center. Fielder THIS SEASON. So you wonder how often this is going to happen. It's definitely definitely ought to hear but you know if all goes well all goes well and I guess it's another reason to possibly keep him in the lineup. More often depending on match ups like you mentioned Mark. And you know he's left. He's left handed bat so you you wonder You wonder how often this would even play a see. I mean I don't know I think it's kind of an interesting thing that they are so focused on wanting guys that are versatile. I'M NOT AGAINST THAT. But if you have a guy that's kind of expected to be your primary second baseman. Why are you trying to move him around I'm if it works if if it gets him more playing time if he's able to. I mean he's obviously going to get playing time. But if it can just get him in the lineup more and it allows him to be more valuable to the team than I mean. I can't say that I would be against that because that's stupid. I think anything that can help the team win is a good thing however I what. I'm kind of worried about is. The Blue Jays might try to over complicate things and say you need to learn this position as well as keep up your own out..
