"This is big Al and Joe Joe. Okay, I do have to mention one of the one of my favorite moments from the weekend. Uh um First of all everything about the Broncos game yesterday is right at the top of favorite moments that happened for me over the weekend. But I did get to go to empower field at mile high for the Buffs game on Saturday with the big fella. As the CEO Bucks were playing Texas A and M And we ended up probably watching the game. And, like three different sweets. Uh, throughout the game. Yes. Three different sweets. Maybe four. And the first one that we started off in was the wrong sweet. And we walked into the suite full of Texas A and M fans. That Alfred thought was the right. Sweet, right? Right. Sweet because that's the one we were in. Right at kickoff, and you ought to hear what the big fella sounds like. And how hyped he is, Uh, for the kick off or like, Come on, Buffalo's right guard got into that. An entire suite of people looking at him. Like, what the hell is this? All of a sudden now for gets a phone call and the person on the other end the line says, Hey, man, you're you're in the urine The You're in the wrong somewhere where you guys add were in this, sweetheart. Yeah. Oh, I said, Oh, we really are in the wrong Swede. I'm not gonna lie to you. These Texas and infants wanted out for to stay, uh, first and foremost, But that is how How the day started with us in the wrong sweet. And, uh, what A what a good time being there in the hospitality of, uh, of the folks from from C. You were great as well. It was great to say hello to Coach Mac. It was great to say hi to to Rick, George and man. It was just, uh, I thought Saturday. Saturday was great until the very end. Um, when the bus ended up, giving it up with three minutes to go in the game. Yeah, it was. It was. It was a heartbreaking loss to Texas A and M. I mean, Every Colorado football fan out there saw great performance by the defense and the offense just could not get it. Going. Man could not get it going. I just You know, it was it was a heartbreaker. I'm not going to lie. You know, I'm not going to shy away from it. We should have won that game. You know, we didn't. They didn't beat us. We lost that game. Okay. We lost that game and that that's a game that if you if you want to be a big time program, you got to just have that game, especially here in Denver. Everything about that game, said that we should have one. I mean, the crowd was fantastic. The atmosphere was electric, and we had them down to the second string quarterback. Who was just really afraid. I mean, he was afraid he he didn't know what to do until he got some confidence later on in the third quarter in the fourth quarter, finally made a throw. That was a big time throw. And, um, that was it, man. I mean, that was it, Uh, that's couldn't believe it. That was that was a loss. But in other news in college football, uh, USC with the big loss last weekend, um, went ahead and fired their head coach two games in two games in so The Pac 12 right now. Felt like, uh, it should have been. Uh oh, glorious right now because Uh, Oregon went on the road and absolutely some mashed mashed. Ohio State, and we should have smashed in the hard sell man smashed and him here last weekend, man that would have that would have showed up so well for the Pac 12. He didn't happen. But you know they're changes going on in college football already, man. I mean, Keyshawn Johnson came out and said he no longer can ride with Clay Helton. And then of course, you know, a guy that we know. Well, uh, Mike Bone is the A D out there at USC and Pull the trigger. Fired him. Yeah. There you go. It is weird to see. Um You know where. Where? The first of all I thought the bus played as well, as you pointed out, and it just seemed like, uh, they just stayed. They stayed in the game. They stayed in the game. The second half. Just not good enough. I thought they just stayed in the game. No, but I'm not pushing. Push it. It was It was just not good enough, man. I mean, we, um I wish I can say That this is a moment of growth. And you know, this is not a bad team playing against the number five team in the country. Oh, that stuff, man. You gotta throw it out the window man today and today's College football game atmosphere when you got the portal, and these guys are jumping from team to team, you get upset all the time. And you just don't know what you have, really, until the game day is here, and we just didn't perform. Like I thought we should have. We have way too much skill and way too much, um, way too many, uh, young guys who can make plays over there for the University of Colorado. We just didn't get them involved. We just can't get them involved. Uh, fast enough for the for it to make an impact. Well, when we come back on the other side, we're going to catch up with Dr Dave Schneider from Ortho, Colorado. We're going to talk about the injury that Jerry Judy sustained And, uh, how long he actually maybe out. He's not going to go in the short term IR, which I think is interesting. So maybe not as long being out as we originally thought. We'll do that. Next. It's big Alan, Joe Joe on K Away Traffic.

"Is Big Al and Joe Joe. So cancel culture is a modern form of ostracism in which somebody is thrust. Out of social or professional circles, whether it be online on social media or in person. Those who are subject to this ostracism are said to be canceled. Marrying Webster notes that cancel as used in this context means to stop giving support. To that person. Or an idea I would imagine, right, Uh, the pop culture dictionary from dictionary dot com. Defines cancel culture as withdrawing support. For public figures and companies after they have done or said something considered objectionable or Offensive. The expression that cancel culture has most negative, mostly negative connotations and is commonly used in debates. On free speech. And censorship. So now go to your question. So if you had an employee who who Made Um, inappropriate remarks on social media. And it was filtered back to you, or you saw them and you thought that they were deplorable. As an employer. Would you fire them? Because see this is because we get training on this all the time, and I must have seen You know from I'm from my manager. Three or four of these in the last year about online um Uh, Social media Post. And that You know to be careful about it. So, uh, you know, in this council culture If you've been told this is what it is. You've signed documentation to say that you would abide by the company rules. Then you still post things that are Um, nasty. Then you know what it is. I mean, we've s so you just answer the question for me. Well, I know what it is here. But are there rules? All their levels are their levels, too? Um, the council culture I listen, I think that in any situation if you have Let's say it's just an employee, and it could be any form of business, okay? If it's any form of business, and you have an employee who Is on social media. The same things that are Inappropriate. May be controversial. Um Anything that would Shed a negative light. On whatever company it is that this person works for. Well, Yeah. Then I think that That that employee probably their employment is in jeopardy. Because look, it comes down to one thing. And one thing only Look if you work at If you work at a big business. And What you do on social media. If you're doing it in any way, like an arm in our business, you know, darn well offering for what we do for a living. Everything we do on social media is a representation of the company that we worked for. It's why we're on social media. Right? So you know, they're not necessarily. That's not why I'm I'm I'm not on social media to promote what the company's doing. I've been on I've been on social media before. I was a member of this company or the member of the last company I work for right on Social media. To, Um, uh, to represent the company. I understand that my words and actions online. Represent me and I'm an employee of the company. I think that's two separate things. This two separate things, but we as a company here, use social media use our have our employees use their social media to expand on their brand. Their brand is what we pay for. That is, that is that is different. You know what You're right. That is different. You are more valuable if your brand is bigger right to the company, so they're employing you as a personality and your social media. Relationships. Okay. Okay. I can get I see that. So when you when you when you see that, and then you have somebody who Is Putting their brand in jeopardy. I mean, let's take an actor. Okay, Let's take an actor who's on a popular television show or, you know in a movie movie franchise who says something that Sheds and negative light on what it is that they do for a living. Well, you know what you know the television studio or the movie studio is most likely going to do you're out women if they just shed a light on things that are negative about What's happening in their business? It doesn't know it has nothing to do with that, if they do anything that makes them looked at in a negative light. That's a terrible reflection on on the company that employs you. Okay? Okay? What do you let me let me get back to my original courses? Are there different levels of the council culture? Not all things are fireable offense, but some things are You. You agree with that statement? Yeah, okay. That's all I'm trying to get to here, like in all of you guys out there who are rolling with us every day. You know exactly what I'm talking about. There are some things that are, said online. That are nasty, and you would not say it in front of your mom and dad or your pastor. Or your grandchild if they were standing there. And if if you have to think twice about whether or not Um, to post things like that, then you probably shouldn't post it. If you are gainfully employed and want to stay that way. Now, if you don't have Ah, care in the world, and you're retired, and you know you just spouting off at the mouth refer you not to. But Hey, I get it. But those that want to be an employee there there things that you have to do to stay employed. Here's somebody from you Can't you can't go toe working and dirty Nancy close without being well groomed every day and most jobs. That's a requirement of the job. Well, you to come in and be presentable, right? So I just I just think that Some of the things that are going on right now. I just think that when you you don't get to just say anything you want without consequence. Let's just put it that way. There's consequences for things, saying things that are Are really nasty and derogatory, and there should be consequences if you are in employee, Alfred. If it's online, the Internet don't forget Internet but it's always there. Which is why you know you have some draft pick that is, you know all of sudden. In the top five. They go back to when you were a freshman in high school, and you were popping off on social media. And you said.

We're in the exact same situation is a Jebalya Bradley Roby and will fuller. Not good. Not good. Not good at all. Not good, But listen, when you consult with a doctor, obviously, the players 100% accountable for what they put in their body. So there are no out. Um, he's gotta he appealed. It. Looks like he lost the appeal affairs and discrepancy. When you have several players, you know, Deanna tended to by position. And you're treating other elements. You're not trying to get bad or you're trying to kill yourself. You're not trying to go out run faster leap higher And now because you're happened, get treatment because you're doing that. Now there's discrepancies you for what you took. And now crossing the line, you know from the Broncos. Listen, I'm not happy about it. But upon further investigation and understanding Out of player wasn't trying to cheat the system. I don't You know, this is a tough one because I'm totally against TDs of any stretch form. But I think you have to understand that these players now go outside and take a second opinion. Get better and to treat themselves al, you know that I know that and sometimes 90% of times is the best way to go. This is one of those times where it was not a good deal. Solly in and then my background on been your background. We know that this means, uh, while we were playing a four game check Now it means six games. Wouldn't even think about Doing something like that as a player and knowing that that's out there, you know, Like you said, I'm not I'm not one that is, um, um We're going to cut these guys a lot of slack here. But, man, that's just way too much. Just a gamble right? Six games. I mean, you only get paid 6 17 times. In NFL season and somebody would take six paychecks from you that had it. That is huge. I don't. I want to know exactly what he was taken. And for what reasons from what I read in the reports. This is about treatment for injury. Wasn't necessarily about trying to game the system. A J. Boy. If you go back and look at the track record to college, whatever never tested positive before, for any quote, ped. What what was found in his system is on the banned substance list. So look back when we play. This was a scarlet letter. Right is this it was like being branded a cheater. And today's in a fell where Athletes are leveraging the resource is that they have they create literally a budget. To help themselves when it comes to nutrition. When it comes to managing their bodies, working out their trainers on staff, they have nutritionist on staff. Acquisitions Bunch on staff to help with maintenance and and rehabilitation. And when someone prescribe something that now puts you on that banned substance list that guy get fired, But in the interim AJ boy other players, you have to serve six. Six weeks. Now, That's what you and I see The downside. What you don't see is the tremendous upside that helped them get their 2nd 3rd court contract and played 21 20 years in the NFL. You say Wow. Six game text was too much to lose. What? You're not seeing how much they have gained by leveraging their resource is to create better science take care of their bodies. Just write a story on Russell Wilson. He said Something to the effect of a million, spends a million dollars a season on maintaining his his fitness and making sure that he's in the best possible shape that he could be in. First of all, that's 1/30 of his annual salary, which is 30 million. It's a write off, okay, in other words, tax deductible because if he structures in LLC that money that he spends on work Just like its capital expense of what you would spend on it. Office building on a copier on the supply you at what he's using to maintain his business. His body is his business. And Tom Brady spend even more. He hired a position in Los Angeles who totally shut down his business. He created TB 12 move the doctor's office into Gillette Stadium. Where he opened up his own business servicing. Um, you know, just everyday customers who want to participate in the medicine of regeneration. And that's why I still playing at 43 years old. Listen, he's leverage the understanding I'm not. Then he's cheated in any way, say performers. He hasn't but he's been smart about what he's done. And so when you talk about the six games of paycheck that he's lost, and that's a drop in the bucket, compared to what he's been able to gain on the upside. I R a Y. His return on investment is phenomenal, So that's what you're dealing with. And that's what most people don't understand is that the way the game is played today, al compared to where we play. Um and they're playing chess. We played checkers. Sorry. I want to ask you about Drew lock on the other side and his future here with the Denver Broncos with these next four games, And does he have to does he have to, in your opinion and in your pro football focus opinion? "B k You know i just. I'm saying only seen what the dolphins and the chiefs game not don't know this is. This is what i need to tell you. Because it's important that we get growth. It's not just the winds at this point because in a game of football. Either you're growing or you're not and the growth right now has to come from our quarterback if the quarterback doesn't grow and we go seventy nine. It's not a good deal if we don't win another game and the quarterback grows that's a good deal because we can see a progression and we can see the play call matching up. But if you don't have any growth out of that position and out of this offense then we gotta we gotta start over again and nobody wants to hear that right. So it's about the growth of this outfit's going forward. You know whether this where you have guys like jerry. Jeudy posting things out there on social media that doesn't belong in the broncos culture. Right you know it's just it's just not good and you've got you know you just said it guy who's been targeted eighty two times you know. I didn't know he was targeted that much. But that's lot rookie. Yeah you know so. I don't like it. I don't like where this offense and we gotta have growth. And if we don't get the growth and i'm here to tell you that we might go ahead and start over so i i'm the guy who wants everything to work the right way down the stretch and we have growth out of this young quarterback in the south. Then we start over well. We'll leave it at that. I'm not going to have you give me a pick. People can catch it on the weekend or on friday when you make your game pick but you said it'll be a fourth quarter game. I think broncos fans take that as long as it's not a blowout against them and if they have a chance to win then maybe they actually go out and win big al. You're the best. I appreciate the time. And i will try to catch up with you next week. Thanks so much okay by the uk. Care the one and only big. Alfred williams down on drew lock. So we'll see how these final four games go. He doesn't care about the winds as much cares about seeing progress. And i'm with them. You wanna see growth. That's a lot of what was going to be about. Was him growing with these young is and you could make the case between jerry. Jeudy frustration through touch. Sean and and big al mentioned as well between between that and then Just the the lack of production across the board that that being productive as an offense is almost as important if not more important than winning they can score forty points up forty one yes so would be concerning but if they're scoring forty points. I think you'd feel good about that if they do that. In the next four game. So we'll see how it all shakes out. You're not score forty bills but you never know why they play the game. So i appreciate you listening and Tomorrow and planning on tracking down ben albright to get into some more of the. Aj boy stuff since he was the one who broke the news Here in the obviously picked up nationally so i appreciate the time made sure to check out chug water chilly chilly dot com promo code chug water bouquet. "But as far as Anything else you know. i'm just not a fan. You know just just not a fan. I just don't believe in it. It's just never been part of my dna as an athlete. So i'm i'm doing the math here because i was going with cat numbers rather than the actual cash and aj boys making ten point three seven eight six seven six so ten as we do live. Math on a tape podcast. Divide that by seventeen and we're just doing this season a times for two point. Four million dollars. It's costing them this season because we don't know his next year's money isn't necessarily guaranteed if the broncos don't bring him back if they did they'd have to pay him eleven point nine million to play or to not play in this case for the first couple of games at least and there's a chance of somewhere you know the numbers completely different looks different but this year two point four four two million dollars for missing these final four games. Because of this it just can buy. You can buy a lot of people. A peace of mind in the pandemic. You don't know. I would. I do i don't i don't i'm just. I'm disappointed that this kind of behavior isn't done in the nfl. And i think the more stringent six game suspension was meant to do. Exactly what i'm talking about and that's to curb anybody from one in the goethe's path because it just doesn't make sense. Is this a lot of money for a little gain so you know. I bought the nfl for the new rules. The players may have gotten bad advice once again. If it's me then. I never touch any of those those Those enhancements sharon. I don't trust the doctor. That's not an nfl locker room to give me anything. Well let's look on the field. The broncos gave it a hell of an effort sunday night certainly defensively especially in the red zone against the best offense and football and again. I know there's no more victories. But what do you take. What what what were the things that you like the most and like the least from the loss of the chiefs Like most of the play calling both offensively defensively and special teams. You know it was It was a solid game plan and if drew lock executes. We have a chance to win. That game with you know with over minute left to go in the game. That's the way. Nfl games are supposed to be played. That's why you never see these lines in games that go beyond you know three or four points normally because everybody knows it's gonna be a fourth quarter game if everything is equal. That's why the salary cap was put in place to make sure that we would have equal competition across all games. It's the the question is in the fourth quarter. You have the right trigger man to get you over the top and right now that answer is no but it never broncos. There's nothing that says it. Drew lock is Gonna be the guy right now. I'm just being on this what you. I'm disappointed that he hasn't had the kind of growth that we all wanted broncos fans but i don't believe he was given great game plans all all year but this last game plan that he got was a brilliant brilliant game plan. And i'm disappointed that we didn't get the win. So i'm I'm i'm looking for reasons. Why the broncos won't have to go out and draft a quarterback now Next year in the first round. Well this is a conversation. I had with the broncos country tonight guys because they asked me. Do i think drew lock will be the incumbent next year and i said as of now i think so talked me and for weeks and i'll have a stronger conversation and talking with people inside the building that was sort of the sense i got after i got the phone them because i was like. Let me let me see of my thinkings right. Because one name they threw out. There was sam darnold. I think sam darnold going to cost more than the broncos wont to spend and then it was pointed out to me to throwing. Sam darnold's tape. He doesn't look any better than drew. Lock is and their skills at similar in agree there. You disagree there. Okay i do. I think that I think from what we've learned out of the small sample size from drew lock is that he is He's somebody who can see the field and yeah enough nothing. Better say them to get out of the pocket but he also understands You don't need the big play every play right and i think that's what the problem is. Drew lock is that his is never go to check down. I've been talking to quarterbacks all week about this and you know of course you know every quarterback asked me will what are the coverage you know. Where is it. i re- where the second he did. They wanna know technical teams. And all i want to know is why won't you dump it down right. Well what's the down and distance. you know. sometimes you can't dump it down on third down and i understand that but you can't go a whole season without putting those talented running backs to to work and getting them involved in the passing game. It's basically what's made peyton manning and tom brady quarterbacks that they've been right is the willingness to just take the underneath stuff and then on third and sixth row at seven yards became the game. Okay all gains a good and football. You know what i'm saying. No again is a good thing. And i don't understand why we can't take small gain in favor of trying to force the ball. Downfield another two interceptions. Last week tells you that it's not the right idea. Here's your targets for the year. Melvin gordon been targeted. Thirty one times says twenty one catches lindsay's been targeted nine times two catches that's crazy that phillip lindsay and i know he's missed a bunch but in nine games. He has two catches royce. Freeman has ten targets nine catches so when you throw the ball roy. Screaming he catches. That's the moral of that story. Then you you go. Further down caja hammer forty nine targets noah fant sixty seven. Tim patrick sixty two jerry. Jeudy eighty two day sean hamilton. Twenty eight hours got hurt. He had fifteen in his time in. Nick vannett sixteen times. It goes down from there for guys who have been injured are barely played. So yeah you're right. The the look to the running back and knowing how many more snaps gordon lindsay are playing than royce. It's you know. If i were to go look at snap counts royces plan probably a fifth if not less than those guys most weeks not counting when he lined up at quarterback. So you're right. It's not something and we saw a screen pass for the first time. What's interesting about screen pass. It seemed like every time they ran it in the preseason in practice got zero yards but then they stopped running it in games or hadn't run it hardly all year. We'll see if the other day and mobile. Gordon picks up big yards. Why not make drew lock life easier by doing that morning. And i know you raised pat shurmur game plan so you think we'll see more of that here going forward. I think that that could be a possibility. But the screenplay only works if You get a dumb defensive line. That doesn't know how to redirect so it depends on who your plan can't be see. For against denver broncos so they just disregarded any kind screen responsibility the screenplay in general to the running back should be a dad. Play to be a team. Defensive lines rally to the ball kind of place you know it depends on who the The defense that you're playing. But i'll tell you this When you as a bronco fan or somebody who is a great fan of football when you look at our.

"Country the broncos back on the practice field getting ready for the carolina panthers no grande glasgow's he's dealing with co and ankle. Injuries demar dotson. He gets a vet rest day and vic fangio said no eating bassey. We know that he's obviously done for the year but they haven't officially put him on. I r spencer jeff driscoll still not back from cova protocols. It'll be interesting to see if they've had any negative effects the way. Shelby harris did he was out for the requisite ten days and at that point had missed. Three games had missed a fourth game because his body just didn't respond correctly and everyone is affected differently. Some people have zero symptoms And you'll also see if jake butt's gonna be out there here at some point Because his i our window. I guess needs to open close And i don't know if. I guess it hasn't opened yet But we'll see what happens with jake. Philly will be out there and i expect we'll see him play plenty. He met with the media and was his same gregarious self I would advise you. Just go to the broncos twitter page or website or whatever and and watch old thing. I'm not gonna pull anything from it because it was just really will be in philly will And it'll be good to see him back there. I think it'd be wearing number twenty seven so we'll We'll be cheering for him. In another favorite of so many in broncos countries number in. Of course darren williams. So that's because he's aimed bassey whereas thirty four. I want you to hear from drew. Lock because it's drew lock day But obviously vic fangio talking about. Aj boys suspension. I'll let you hear A little bit of that. I'm going to combine some cuts and you guys can do the do the math on the question. In between if it doesn't sound smooth enough but you'll get the idea So before drew lock and then big al Here's vic fangio on the news. Aj boy is suspended for six games. Now's disappointed for him. You know Hires half the make really really good judgments with people that trust you know with your career with their finances. Obviously something went wrong with this person out with entrusted a disappointing situation for everybody i could become and because they jake told me about it otherwise i wouldn't have known. He told me about a couple of weeks ago. So we knew it might become and we didn't know this week was earlier than we thought. So you know. I think that that answer your question. I did no. I didn't know landon possibly thought in. Aj did the right thing and alert us to what could be happening. Usually as a coach. You don't find out about that stuff technically. I wouldn't have found out about it as the day. Jay had told me that was choice to town. So pretty seamless. You couldn't tell. I was actually three answers to three separate question of the final one was the final part of it was when i asked at least appreciate that a guy would tell you that versus having to find out about it on the wire on twitter whatever the case may be we know not on twitter drew lock on twitter and i imagine. He sees plenty of criticism of his performance or performances. At time so i want you to hear all of drew lock drew lock day and drew always honest and i think pretty well thought out in his In his answers so he was asked off the top about. Aj boy suspension. Just adding that to the list of things here in twenty twenty. How did he react to that news. As it fits into kind of the theme of the year i definitely believe we adopted twice. Mindset that anything can happen at this point and adversity adversity and we'll keep punching and finding no on your way through it all it's upsetting what happened but Like i said swine twenty. You can expect anything to happen in this year. And that's what we're doing and then it went in southern does pop up roll through this In regard to when you go back and look at look at things I've had play callers in the past. Tell me that like short intermediate stuff can be easy money they call but do you need to take the easy money more often. I need to take better hustle ball as long but not on what plays call. It's it's attractive if it's there we're gonna take it but if i needed hit a check down for two four instead of forcing the ball downfield. That's what i need to do. I like extending plays better on window extended extended scene. If this is the throat no really is going to help stay on the field innkeeper wrestling. Or if it's gonna be risk on the might give off the field Christians game a quarterback and you have to keep your aggressive nature. And i will. But there's there's part of you know realizing when it's time to make those throws the game come to the beginning. This is the end of the game. He got to try to make something happen. Then you can do with them. But i think jason taking the easy ones needs to keep progressively better. Hey drew when you face opponent for the first time like carolina at the beginning of where do you start. Your studying ad is based out there down red zone on. Yeah we'll start regular start days. It depends on the team really. I mean this team this week not play nickel so we watched a lot of ankle We looked at our game. You see that we're going to be in a lot of fresno new base and then gets nickel will. It just depends on the league for us. Our thinking exact wise. We'll watch it all. And then we'll end up folksy moross certain certain Certain certain defense of group but this week is big nickel week. So we're watching a lot of that right now drew besides Taking care of the football. Is there anything. You're focused on in particular over these final four weeks and do you view this as a chance to prove yourself going into next year. I'm so some winning winning games regardless of how that gets done. And that means i throw for hundred yards and we be soviet. We wanna game. We've gotta win. That means draw for lot in winning the game. So be it. That's that's how to be done. That's how on the game so maybe obvious exposed Winning all play winning football. Now he's taking care of the ball keeping the autism field progressing completions. Just winning quarterback drew kind of following up on jeff's question about where you're you're looking at and i asked about it. You guys are second to last in league. In an attempt to the running back or targets to the running back percentage wise an overall attempts. I started every game. And he said sometimes you aren't getting that third and fourth reject something that you and pat talk about lakhpat joked earlier in the year about you. Having a sixty are check down so that come up in conversation frequently. Yeah it's about knowing that you can't make this deepens but it's not the optimal look here Those backs in the flat was tied. Turn flat we have these checked on these place. For reason you dial out for a couple of specific looks in. They don't give it to you now. There's no need to force it just underneath..

Michael Cooper on the executive producer of the show, And as I said, we're doing the best of the initials game and our number one The guest was Benjamin Albright in our number two was Cathy Walker. And here in our number three. It'll be the programming director of K away and that is Greg Foster. So if you're tuning in, you're trying to figure out what is exactly the initials game. I'm going to give you a quick little rundown of what the game is all about. Obviously, it's called the initials game, which means There are some initials so, for instance, my name is Michael Cooper. So my initials RMC. So all of the answers are going would revolve around the initials M. C. Jo Jo is your game show host. He's the one that will give off six clues and The four of us who were trying to answer the question in this case, Big Al Alford Williams, Anthony Rodriguez myself. And Greg Foster. We're trying to guess so. He'll read off a clue. And he'll say, like executive producer of K Always Big Alan Joe Joe show. Well, everybody would know that they would say, Hey, it's That's Michael Cooper so it would yell out their name and they would yell the answer. Normally, it's not that quite easy, though, so he would read six clues and we try to get to the end. And if you answer and you're wrong Well, then you're out for that particular question. Greg Foster's in the House, Greg sitting in the guest chair today, Coop before we get started on. The initials game can use the current standings. Yeah, the guest as 144 correct answers. 14 wins and three ties before 1 44. I have 111 correct answers. Nine wins and four ties, huh? You have 119 car 1 19 1 night, but only five wins. Two times. I have no right answers you. It's all about winds. We've discussed this before. Have not and nobody came to a consensus on this. So I have more right answers than you. Okay. Could've been that you had one game. He had 10, right? I'm just saying more than you know, Like a blowout. Okay, We batted your stand. By the way. Who won last week? I did. Okay. I'm just checking. They almost made you want to just see how many a Rod's got. He's got 42 correct, And that's a big number. Now. He also has a win and maybe a time maybe a time. Let's get started. Let's play the initials game. It's time to play the initials game with Big Alan Joe job. I'll protect the sunglasses off. I thought he was actually played the initials game with sunglasses on the word of a hold on. This is my intimidation. Move on him like a poker thing. You know, the biggest.

"Like this is Big Al and Joe Joe. This rock gets a comfortable they are judge your backward Solomon Wilcots from pro football focus who joins us on NFL Wednesdays all during the NFL season on Wednesdays in in Solly, We asked you about some of the surprises in the in the first half of the season. Is there a big bigger surprise in the league than what the Miami Dolphins have been able to do? Nobody thought the Dolphins were going to be very good. Yes, especially when everybody thought they were tanking for two. Uh, they went out competed last year and still got to. I mean, they be, um, you know the New England Patriots in the final game of last year. Running. Florence has done wonderful job this defense. They ranked fifth in terms of scoring defense, only given up 20 points game, they have forced a turnover. And an NFL high 15 consecutive games. That's going all the way back last year, no team Is playing. Cover one and cover zero combination of the two more than the Miami Dolphins, which they run A combination of myth. Crest Man to Man covers your cover one. 48% of the time. I mean, they're giving you a chance to make play. But yet they're only giving up. 20 points a game, huh? That tells you just how good this defense class Solly, You know, there was a little um, look grumbling coming there from Ryan Fitzpatrick about being benched or the unproven rookie and to Ah Um, as you look at the NFL and the landscape, I think the Dolphins wanted to know what they had in tour going into next year. Much like the Broncos wanna know what we have and do lot going into next year? Is that fair? Oh, of course it is. I mean, think about it. Your your for your further along in the process, Would you locked and they are with two eyed and you lot came to you perfectly healthy. This guy came to his team with a presumably bum hip are least More question mark in the healthy area, yet they still feel like they need to know. I mean, think about the quarterbacks in this year's draft class, Justin Herbert and Joe Burrow. Those guys were having success. They look like they belong. I'm sure dolphins like Yeah. You gotta get our guy out there. And so I'm sure Johnny always feeling the same way. We need to know by the end of the year. What we haven't you like we were all saying it before. Started the season now be fair. Did you lock And we just take say the last three weeks last three games, and that's the same amount of time that, too, has been playing for the dog. To lock his average 45 pass attempt a game. You are £25 tips again. Well. Six touchdowns for Ju lock only five touchdown passes for two. Six interceptions for Ju lock in those three gangs. The road for two of anything Well, yeah, you can't throw picks. Well, you can't have your young quarterback throwing 45 times a game. I mean, That's the difference of one guy is getting more help winning games with Ethan to scorn. Actually teams story for Miami. Where do lots gotta do all the heavy lifting? You want the offense, 45 positives per game. You and I both know he's passing the line of demarcation where you're gonna get diminishing returns. He should not be having to throw that much. Being such a young quarterback, But, hey, that's the fate of things, but I think you've got also live with the results knowing you're asking too much of it. Solly when you have looked at this Denver Broncos team. I mean, you know, we sit here and we obviously we cover them every single day and we watch him every single week and There's never been a harder year toe look at them than what this year has been just trying to figure out what exactly they are. You know why guys? I mean, I will share this with you. People talk about parity and they talk about next man. There's a reason why you take a look at the salary and how salaries are dispersed. Who's getting paid? Did you start taking guys off the board? We're taking the lion's share of the money. Particularly the line is here of your production. Whether it's von Miller with this Courtland sudden when you start losing players like that. If you think the next guy coming in give you equal production. I got news for you. It ain't happening. And that's why being healthy and being available. It is the most important skill you ever have is are not start our availability. That's what it is. And so You start taking guys like me. Don't get Miami and check and see where their injuries are. They don't have those critical injuries and they're getting production out of guys and they are staying healthy. And with the Raiders, the 40 Niners are team that things up and have lost a lot of players and look at their record. So that's why it's hard for you. I think you and I both knew when you lost some of those guys early. I think we all kind of new in the back of our mind. It was gonna be a long year. Now You're living through it and you go look at all the other teams around the league. They've lost some key players. They're in the same situation in the very same boat. Solly, It's always fantastic talking with you, man. It's always wonderful. To be a Colorado buffalo, especially when you're undefeated man on I gotta tell you, man, it's been fantastic, right? I'm happy for Carl. Derail Man off your great start and we got to keep it up and this is a year we compelled on, you know, it's it's good to see him back. Playing football to really is. Man. It was great talking with you ready for introducing traveling again so I could play some golf with you guys, and I want to go play some golf waken get. Hey, you gotta go. Welcome at my club Anytime. We are officially at the halfway point of the NFL season, and if you were to have to write the headline To describe the first half of the NFL season. What would that headline be? I mean, it would be something about you know, Fell stays on track amid Kobe. I mean right now, like it or not. Of all the things and there's been some really been some awesome things this season from, you know big time players who have becoming stars two teams. That have come out of nowhere and become really, really good. A lot of rookies man like a lot of rookie quarterbacks. A lot of unbelievable endings. We saw a couple of yesterday. Hello, Chargers. Um, but I don't think anything has been more important than the fact that the league has, I think figured out how to do this figured out how to stay on track. While dealing with, you know Kobe 19 cases rising around the country. How to properly isolate had a socially distance to keep your mask on and make sure a fine if they don't All those things I would say staying on track to mid covert is probably the most important thing. The scene. And when I think about teams that are Well coached you There's one team that that just keeps popping up for me, Man. It's the Miami Dolphin's. I mean, I think that they are the story of the year this year because Of how easily they put points on the board and control games against quality opponents. And it happened again yesterday against the Cardinals. What have you heard from yours? Your folks down there in Miami about what's going on. Is this guy Florence just a great coach. I think he is just a great coach. And, you know, I mean, I thought he would be a good coach, but you could never tell him that not not Patricia would be a really good coach. And you just It's tough to tell us it was going to turn out like I mean, I knew for a fact. That Adam Geysers can be a great head coach when you left Denver and obviously that has not happened. I guess there's always a chance that has not happened. So, you know, finding an assistant thinking they're going to be a great head coaches. It doesn't always work, I think with Flores You know what would work so well in this? He is very tough background into it went to a very good Private school. Going to a very good college. He has learned to Be able to deal with and You know, mixed with every different kind of person. He can reach his players, he said. The expectations And then make them meet them. So I think players really liking they're drawn to him. And then the other thing is all the players they pick. I've been good. I mean, you know, after one week, everyone's like wondering what tool was like there was some last week and you're, like, all right. I think she was going to be pretty good, too, and their draft class is going to be good. They're free agent class is going to be good. Last year, they had no players, and they still won games at the end of the year. I think this is a really good football coach. His team is only scratching the surface. Ian yesterday, the NFL both fans and league got to discover who Garrett Gilbert is who played quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys yesterday gave and gave and gave the Pittsburgh Steelers A a pretty good scare before it was all said and done. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Fans of the he was like he was the leading wasn't like the leading passer leading scorer. Everything in the A F right. You know what I mean? He wasn't there. No, I do not do what? He wasn't part of the New York What were they called beyond? I also have no idea. I have little. I couldn't. You couldn't pay me enough money to come up with a man and a team of the time I have, anyway, I actually thought he was pretty good yesterday and then you know, so any gold is going to come back next week, hoping a little better. I'm not sure the Cowboys there is horrendous as we thought they might be. I mean, obviously, the record isn't good, but they started to play a little bit better on defense kind of undercover kind of under the radar, but they got rid of the guys who didn't like And they started to play the scheme a little bit and play a little bit faster. And, you know, obviously, they're not mean I don't think they're going to the playoffs, but it's in that division. If they get a little hot, I mean they and least they're starting to play better and make me think that multiple cars, he won't be one and done. Which I think overall big picture would probably be a pretty big deal. It was the Orlando Apollo's My producer, says I didn't even know what he does have a championship as well as a Superbowl championship as AH, reserve Who,.

"Is there Thiss is Big Al and Joe Joe. Welcome back to Joe Joe. I can't wear these radio 50 AM and not for one event. But of course, everywhere on the free I heard radio app. Travis Kelsey got paid today. Four year extension. $57 million. With the Kansas City Cash. I think he earned it. I think he really earned it. I mean, for the way he plays and the way he puts his body on the line. Ah, the Arnett as Faras NFL standards ago. He's the best And I think it'll is Um, you know, working on becoming the best, but you know, you have to do this war a few years and and You look at Kelsey. Many has four years of 1000 yards and receiving at the tidy imposition. That's unheard of I felt today like It was a fantasy football day because you know when you're drafted in fantasy football, all of sudden, one person picks a really good tight end. And then there's a run on tight ends. Because George Kittel and the 40 Niners reached a five year, $75 million pitching and I was like, Oh, it's tight end day in the NFL, right? And one guy, you know Travis Kelce. He's not going to sign an extension before George Kettle. So he waited till George little sign earlier in the day, And then it was announced that Kelsey signed his extension. So I mean, it's you know, when you see those things, you know you go. That's a lot of money. It's a lot of money for these guys. Um Oh, boy. These guys can really play. I hope one day we're talking about one of our tidy and getting to their level. Yeah, Making that kind of money would be because that means that they're the best and we went in a lot of games. You don't pay that kind of money to a tight end. Ah, unless you are winning games because you think they I'll find another guy, But once you have a guy who can help you win games. Then you keep him. So this kid that was cut by the Seattle Seahawks today? Was an undrafted rookie out of Oklahoma State. He did receive a $2000 signing bonus, a $2000 $2000 signing bonus. Well, he's gonna have to use all of that to get out of Seattle today, The Seahawks waived rookie cornerback Thomas Siva Rand. Earlier after he was caught on video trying to sneak a woman into the team's hotel. The, uh Pete Carroll has said his number one rule is to quote always protect the team. He praised the Seahawks veteran leaders for sending the right message to the locker room about the need to be disciplined while preparing for a season amid the Corona virus pandemic. The Seahawks, by the way, have placed only one player on the reserve covered 19 list he confirmed on Wednesday. Pete Carroll is who confirmed that on Wednesday that it was a result of a false positive test. With John Ursula, who is wide receiver. Who has since been reactivated. Okay, So this is you know the young man who is part of this. This. Ah! His jaw dropping story out of Seattle. This is what we call in the NFL normal. Okay, trying to skirt the rules trying to get over. For no apparent reason other than just being stupid well and how horned up you've got to be to try it on the shorty, and when you know it, you're undrafted and it's in $2000 signing bonus. It's your It's your living you're trying to make right now. And I'm telling you right now because he's because he did that. I don't know what team in the NFL will respect him because this is a pandemic. And everybody needs to keep their team safe. First of all. So when you bring somebody else into the facility And those people don't go through the same protocol. Then this guy's career may be done. At least for this season. I don't. I don't could you could you? Would you bring them in? There's no way I would bring him in. Now you're done. You're done. I hope you know, I hope it was worth it away. What? Jon Gruden on line one. Now what Gruden bringing I like that. You know things I'm telling you, man, if this guy is this reckless Would Peter and I play for Pete. It's a good do Peepee. Carol is a good dude. He's a fair guy. Um, not really. You know tough for Ah, tough coach to play for it, But he's got rules right and those rules. You just have to abide by the rules. And you know you could be the person that you want to be as a football player. That's a rarity in this business. So he screwed that up with Pete. I don't know what else gives one chance? I don't know. It's big Alan Jo Jo, This is Kay away news radio traffic every 15 minutes. Here's John Morrissey, man. And how hot is it hot enough to where your car is liable to stall out on the interstate? You Tina's ton of vapor lock? Is that what it is? Well, in some cases, it could be vapor. That happened to us a lot in Las Vegas. People here. How did we get here? Ourselves pretty busy drive, and we've got to stall in your weight vapor lock. That is eastbound I 70 Havana Center Lane. They can't die on the shoulder. They gotta die in traffic. You're driving the roar areas better. They re opened. Alameda. Alameda was closed because of a demonstration this afternoon east of 2 to 5 that is reopened with that 2 to 5 drivers really heavy south bound around Colfax. And nor found coming out of the tech center north and I 25 busy into downtown from runaround Logan all the way up into downtown. That's South bound drive. Heavy for my 70 to 70 is loaded up in both directions and.

"This is big Al and Joe Joe with my life. To welcome back. Ella Jo Jo on camera news Radio 8 50 AM in 90 for one of them, Of course, everywhere on the free I heard radio looking better than when you offered was driving him from birth. And, uh, he normally calls me on the way in to work if He's coming in Hyde, right, And there was a lot of traffic right there on I 25 the you know the mousetrap, basically coming in hot means he's going to walk in, while the microphones Iran and He's going to be. Ah, because technically we turned on the microphones at about 305 everyday and, ah So I said, Ah, you're coming in Jai, I go. Well, that's great, because I'm coming in his well. So I called him when we, uh we were on our drive in and We had a a very deep discussion, right? And the discussion was about the term Negro. And is it still okay to use that term? In your descriptive nature of of trying to tell somebody who this person maybe. And I heard the term here recently in I thought about it. And I was like, man that you know that it almost sounds like that term to me as a black guy. Is a, um Derogatory term. It would be no different than calling me a colored guy. And that would be a derogatory term. And so I heard these two terms as the same when I heard it here recently. So I talked to Joe. I said, You know, this country's done a number on black people because the narrative and the language in which you describe somebody if I was a white guy become feels his hail right now, I'd be really confused about How to describe a black person and this is you know, And this is how I would tell people if you're asking me and it may not be the politically correct way to do it, But I would say And polite conversation. If you were picking me up from the airport, how would you describe me? About 66 probably dressed in golf attire, which is probably right wearing a ball cap may or may not have a goatee depending on whether or not he's going. And he's a black guy, right? Right. And, um Who wouldn't with all of my friends, and then this is And you know, this is just The way that it's gone with me, I guess because I guess if you if I'm calling you, my friend, you know that I would probably call you a white guy, right? I mean, there's well, what else could you call me? I'm not calling you European American right well and see, And that's where I got the discussion that way a little bit because Now, my son. My son is in a relationship and lives with a black girl, right? Who does not want to be referred to as African American, because she's like I'm not if Africans I'm not. I'm not from Africa. Don't refer to me as African American on black. Well, I mean, I think that that narrative that narrative is wrong. Okay, Well, I just want to say that so I you know again, she's gone. Sisi has African descent. Growing up for me. I can remember referring to somebody as just being black. Right, and it bouncing back and going. No, no, no, no, no. They're African American. And I'm like, Okay, You know what? Your stepfather within politics and I'm quite sure in your household. It was prim and proper when it came the describing and yeah, and talking. Ah! In ways to make sure that you understood what was the proper way. That people wanted to be described. Not now. Here. Here's Here's something that you know, one of one of the Greatest. Organizations here in the United States is in double A. C P Not if you don't know what it stands for, is the National Association of Advancement of Colored People. You understand? Yeah, OK, so so of colored people, Right? Right. It's the N double A C P But if you call somebody colored colored, it's offensive. It's offensive right now. But it's one of the greatest civil rights advocacies advocacy groups of all time Now, I have referred to you many times. Never call me color. I've never know. But I have said you're a man of color. When I've talked to have said that I have said that somebody who is a man of color, right? Now. Is that offensive? No, I don't think so. Because I think you were trying to describe Um, somebody who's not white. Jason on the text line. Black dude, Black dude, Right? That's I mean, that's how I would. That's what I would have said Yeah, I want to set the black dude. I mean, he's a black guy. Yeah, I'm saying he's a white guy or he's a Mexican guy. You know, I'm saying, you know, because So, baby, But but people are Negroes. See, Right? Okay, Somebody grow right? But then what do you say for you? Because there are still organizations that use the word. Negro, the United Negro College Fund, Right. You know, there are the term has been used and is used in very proper ways. Yet. If you take the words out of context, it could be considered offensive. Which is what started our entire conversation, right? Because I'm just as you heard it. And you You asked me about it, and I'm like that. I was like, and I said, Well, what was the concept of a man? You know, I, um But do you think of it That way do you think of I mean, because, like you said, You. You talked about things we said colored. We said, colored because you brought up the end of the CP. OK, then you have the United Negro Foundation, the United Negro College Fund, Okay? Both have words in it that could be considered offensive, right? And by the way, around 1919 89 90 the work the term African American was the preferred. The preferred Descriptive way to the describe a black person. And today I think that you can't be wrong if you say African American. But what about those other terms? Heroes, other terms. Sounds. They sound derogatory to me if I called you if if you know if I called you a Caucasian, right if I called you a Caucasian Doesn't it sound like that's an offensive word. If I said, you know if I said you, Caucasians If I said it like that, if you said it like that, Yes, but if if a police officer was describing me, you know how he would describe me. Alright. He will call you Call me a Caucasian, right? Okay. And what would a police officer called a black person in? I think they would for you is black..
