"Now if your political junkie you're just interested in the 2020 election, you know she is and if not, Don't worry. She's going to disappear from the news soon and her name will be relegated to a trivia game. Right now. She is at the center of the presidential transition Controversy. Emily Murphy is the administrator of the General Services Administration, and part of her job is to ascertain the apparent winner of the presidential election. Which launches the official transition process. In this case, it comes with pressure from both sides and even death threats from what's been written and said she's perfectly suited for this important job. She was a congressional aide and worked away up the GSC ranks to reach your current position. Almost everything said about her seems laudatory. Her colleagues and friends use words like ethical Moral and scrupulous that said she was appointed by President Trump and even volunteered to be part of his transition team in 2016. So why is he stalling? Well, apparently her concern involves the famous Florida debacle in 2000 when the Supreme Court ultimately ruled George W. Bush was the winner. To be blunt. Any comparison is ludicrous. In that case, the legitimacy of 5400 Florida votes will determine the next president. While today there's no way the apparent result would change even if Trump went all of his legal challenges, and so far he has lost. Every one of them. So all Emily Murphy has to sign is the ascertainment. And yet she hasn't why the G s a says it doesn't pick who wins the election. But instead and I quote ascertained the apparent successful candidate once the winner is clear, based on the process laid out in the Constitution. May repeat the key word in that statement. A parent is everyone listening to this report, Who doesn't believe that a minimum that Biden got more popular votes and more electoral college votes than Trump? Somebody asked me what I would do it Emily Murphy's position right now having to choose between refusing to ascertain and alienating all the Democrats or siding with Trump and having to deal with some of the people who have sent her death threats. I said it was a slam dunk. I'd ascertain immediately and I'd sign it now before the current president does even more damage to the country. On my Facebook page. I asked KGO listeners. What would you do if you were Emily Murphy? Would you release the transition money to the incoming Biden team? Absolutely, says Linda, adding, she works for the American people, not the president. She should do her job and not be swayed by the pressures of one person or party. Leslie Ass isn't a law that she signed off. She'll be out of a job. Either way, she signs up now. Well, maybe she'll get a small amount of respect from others. But if she continues this stonewalling Till over user 15 minutes of fame in the worst way, if she thinks that Trump will rehire or even care about her, I got a bridge to sell her glances. Come on, Ron. No one has been certified as President elect Neither Trump nor Biden. Senator Harris receives intelligence briefings because she's a member of Congress. But Joe Biden is just a private citizen and has no business receiving the intelligence reports. Colleen sees it this way. None of us were in her shoes. And we know nothing about what pressure she's under. But what does it matter? Why does one person have this power? Who did she answer to? David says simply. History will not be nice to this woman. He says. I'd like to think that I follow the law and not try and inject my own interpretation into. It clearly says that she must sign the authorization to accommodate the apparent winner. Beverly says withholding the information from the incoming president Steam is a federal offenses. There's gotta be something put in place for future generations to disallow this to ever happen again. Some chicken balance and overseer that can ensure a smooth transition from Ron On, says she's already looking for another job. Now is the time to release the funds quit and do a serious job search employers like people with integrity. They don't like people who come off his loser jerks. And finally, Susan sums it up by saying something is wrong with the transition system. It depends on the whim of one.

"Ruth Bader Ginsburg, a new Supreme Court justice, was appointed to fill her scene with a 52 to 48 vote, Senate Republicans confirmed Amy Cockney Barrett. In a single term. President Donald Trump has appointed three of the nine judges that sit on the Supreme Court and the Trump administration has appointed roughly a quarter of federal judges on the bench. Alexis McGill Johnson is president of Planned Parenthood Action Fund. She's had the political battle over the court's front of mind. Thanks for joining us, Alexis. Thank you so much for having me Fry. So let's just keep it really, You know, we have a newly confirmed Supreme Court justice. She has not said what she is definitively going to do, but seems unlikely to be a big champion of reproductive rights. Do you and your colleagues at Planned Parenthood feel the despair that a lot of other people are feeling? Are you feeling Inspired to action or what's going on. First, I would say that the majority of Americans still believe that Rose should be the law of the land. We're talking 77% of Americans. And what we have in justice Parrot now is the culmination of a Siri's of power grabs. Based on rules changes from Senator McConnell and the Trump administration to rush through a Supreme Court nominee. That is quite contrary to where most Americans said And so where we sit is certainly very concerned. There are about 17 cases that are in the pipeline there, literally one step away from the Supreme Court that could create further burdens or limit access to abortion, if not outright, overturn Roe. And so we're obviously incredibly concerned, but even more concerned that we're in a situation in our democracy where the rules of the game have shifted away from the majority of the people, and that's actually just dangerous in a democracy. So you're the president and CEO of Planned Parenthood Federation of America and the Planned Parenthood Action Fund and in the action, Fun Hat. One of the things that that organization with that part of your larger organization has been doing is Advocating for appointment of federal judges, and so get a little deeper into this whole question of how you interact with the whole process of who becomes a federal judge. And of course, then how that affects policy. Well, I mean, over the last four years. What we've seen is an expedition of the number of judges that between Senator McConnell and President Trump. They've confirmed over 215 incredibly conservative judges to lifetime appointments on the federal bench. And you know, these judges that will sit at the circuit Court of Appeals Court, at least 10 of them have been considered completely unqualified by the American Bar Association. One judge, at least has been very vocal in similar language to judge Justice Barritt around IVF feeling that that is an unnatural Process and I think that you know where we engages. We know we continue to support the research to help our Senate colleagues understand what is at stake as they are doing their confirmation process. The reality is they've been very successful in shifting. The rules changed so that you know, we used to be able to filibuster bad judges. And now Senator McConnell changeable, so very simple majority, which is what they held over the last few years that that has allowed them to rush through the number of appointments that they've made, and that's you know, again, it's helpful to democracy. It's harmful to Into how we should be governing, and that's really bottom line with its take care. What would you see His differences between, say, a trump second term and a Biden first term since so much has already happened in the appointment of federal judges and with the Supreme Court. Look in Vice President Biden's Senator Harris. We know we have champions of sexual reproductive freedom. We know that they will be committed to everything from repealing hide to identifying ways legislatively to support legislation that could help us codify Ro federally, and I think those are the opportunities that we have. By an administration also has a ton of work to do You know, the is on the line next month, literally just a few short weeks from now, And so the other things that help us ensure reproductive freedom and access to gender equality can also be stripped away. If the ISR old unconstitutional things like having our birth control. You know, covered under the ensuring the gender discrimination doesn't happen. We don't pay more for our health care then then men, Those are the sorts of things that I think could be incredibly impactful under abiding administration. That would be exciting. I think I'd know Trump administration already living the fear of right. We're living the fear of both a Supreme Court that now he refused, appointed three of nine judges. Cementing that conservative majority we are already seeing. We've been forced out of title 10, the nation's oldest and largest family planning program, limiting access to you know, family planning in rural areas and low income communities and our response to it is, you know to continue to fight to continue, Tio You know, engaged or 16 Million supporters and demonstrate was at stake. And if we have to do that state by state because that's where the fights will turn now in the state legislatures And tell us a little bit about what Planned Parenthood does that a lot of people might not know about, including providing some health services to men and to the LGBT community, etcetera. Absolutely look. Planned Parenthood is first and foremost a health care provider for and we provide all range of sexual reproductive health. We do a lot of sexual education, outreach, and, you know, part of that education is also to our No to our legislators, Tio ensure that we have robust policies that that ensure that we're building access more access to healthcare than Les, You know, I mean, we have to remember that wrote a moment today where you know, we've just seen the every day is the next highest day of new coded transmissions over 225,000 Americans have died. In this last, you know, seven months of the pandemic and the idea that in 30 days the Senate could come together and rush through this nomination and not rush through covered, really fill not rushed through a covert testing bill not focus on the comprehensive policies around healthcare that are potentially bankrupting families. These kinds of things that as a public health care voice And if we're not out there yelling and screaming about about what's happening healthcare broadly then we're not doing our service. Well,.

Let's pick up on that for a moment congresswoman Senator Harris in her speech last night spoke about the racial disparity in how people are affected by the corona virus. Here she is. You mentioned challenging and partnering with a Future Biden Harris. Administration which is something that we saw between Elizabeth Warren and Joe Biden was the challenging in the partnering. Last night senator. Warren gave a convention speech where she used her represe spruce. Sorry. Her reputation as the plans candidate to endorse Biden's policy I wanNA play a bit of that for you. Now. I. Love a good plan and Joe Biden has some really good plans plans to bring back union jobs in manufacturing in create new union jobs in clean energy plans to increase social security benefits canceled billions in student loan debt. These plans reflect the central truth. Our economic system has been rigged to give bailouts to billionaires and kick dirt in the face of everyone else. So, during the primary Joe, Biden got a lot of criticism including from Elizabeth, Warren about not being progressive enough and I believe it's part of the reason you endorsed Elizabeth Warren over the rest of the field has she now made her stamp on this ticket and it's platform. We're really seeing big improvements on the vault weighs interleukin delays now begin after Clara Barton Parkway and everything opens up before you get too old Georgetown Road. Let's talk about 95 Virginia It's still stopping. Seemed that they had a different approach. Why They've always been so hysterical and so adamant that everything shut down from top to bottom. Now it makes tons because here's Kamala Harris in our first opportunity to show herself to the American people, and all she wants to talk about is life sucks in America. Right now, your job, the economy. Your kids can't even go to school, and it's all because of Trump mishandling. The Corona virus, and then it all makes sense. Now, everything all of their nonsensical policies that they've been pushing and screaming about, including keeping your kids out of a classroom. It all makes sense. Because without this, they've got nothing. They've got nothing and yet The media, which seems to go along with this, of course, because well because they want them to win. It is incumbent on them at some point to say. Vice President Biden. Senator Harris. If you were in charge, what would you do differently? And and today. We got one answer from Joe Biden. Finally, here's what he said. I put out a comprehensive plan over the last three months on each of these things, but today I want to talk about one thing. By the way, Let me live. It is positive. Joe Biden says that he's put out a comprehensive plan over the last three months about this thing, meaning Covad, 19 and what he would do differently. A comprehensive Joe Biden has put out a comprehensive plan. Can you tell me anything that's in it. Then you can Jake tapper. Can George Stephanopoulos if you put a gun and I'm not suggesting you do rhetorically speaking, if if if if George Stephanopoulos is life depended on it, Do you think he could tell me one thing that is in Joe Biden's Comprehensive plan. For America's response to covert 19. What kind of talking point is this? This is this is one of the things why people hate politicians like Joe Biden, who have been there for 47 years and literally cannot point toe one achievement. One achievement. It is in any way tangible that has made a difference in your life. And he can't talk about what he stands for that I've put together a comprehensive plan over the last three months. Name me one thing, and this is why people like Donald Trump. We will build a wall. We will enforce our immigration policies. We will cut your taxes and we will increase manufacturing in America by putting terrorists on China and Mexico until they negotiate a better trade deal. Make America great again. Good night, everybody. In a tangible, comprehensive plan. Just this is it. This is what I want to do, And this is what we will do. That's why, By the way, the other politicians in this town hate him. Because he exposes what empty suits they are. Alright. So Joe Biden has a comprehensive plan that he's put out over the last three months. And I dare you to tell me anything that's in it. But that I've put out a conference three months on each of these things. But today I want to talk about one thing straight forward. Straightforward doesn't have anything to do with Democrats. Republicans independents there that has to do with simple proposition. Every single American Should be wearing a mask. When they're outside for the next three months, every governor should mandate Every governor should mandate mandatory mask wearing And of course, I'm waiting for someone to ask the question. Where is the science supporting the need for an individual, one solitary person walking alone outside with no one around them. Wearing a mask. That it's a simple question. Show me the science that supports How that is necessary. Little forget about necessary should be mandated. What does that do? What does that one single solitary person walking alone and forget about walking alone? Let's say you're walking with your husband or your wife who lives with you in your home. If you're sitting across the dinner table from them at home, you can have your mask off. But if you're walking on the beach with no one around you.

Investigators say they haven't been able to confirm that. Sheriff's Department says Gordana wasn't wearing a uniform and was too young to be an armed guard. Detective division commander Chris Marx said the department has not been able to share more information about the case because of a parallel investigation into a previous nonfatal shooting and suspected drug dealing at the site. There's obviously a pattern of criminal activity occurring at this location, which is why the deputies were probably drawn to that location in being proactive and trying to address a problem. The only county coroner released a report last month against Veal Vienna waves wishes indicating Gordana was shot five times in the back. The sheriff's Department says he produced a gun and ran away. Today. The department showed pictures allegedly of that gun and video of Gordo outside the auto shop. In the moments before the shooting. The sheriff's department has said that there was no evidence Cordaro fired any shots. "Diana on Facebook said it's funny that the Democrats love to debate the problems, but fail to offer solutions, that'll be that's gonna be up to the moderators to get them focused on actual solution. But here's something I'm finding interesting. I'm looking at night to which, I guess is the bigger lineup because you've got people like, Kamala Harris, you've got Bernie Sanders. You've got a Joe Biden people to judge here's my question. If you're going to try to if you're one of these other candidates, do you go after a Bernie Sanders directly or Joe Biden, do you start that process or is this? We got, you know, or does this become go after Donald Trump, by the way? Also in South Carolina on June twenty seconds, so about a week before sixteen of the twenty three democratic candidates will attend a forum in South Carolina on sponsored by Planned Parenthood of ice. President Biden Senator Harris Warren Sanders and south and mayor Booker will be attending. Here's what I take. On the second night. So the night where Joe Biden is there Bernie Sanders? There you have Kamala Harris. Mayor, I think for mayor Pete, Kamala, Harris have got to take shots at Sanderson, Biden K, because they they're, they're really the only people only other people in the in the top group in mayor p barely is in the top group in that debate the rest. I mean, literally Yang Jila brand Hickenlooper, bidded, Williamson swallow, these are wild cards. So if you're Joe Biden, I mean, this, this is the problem with having a debate with people who are literally don't deserve to be honest threat. They don't deserve to be on the debate stage. Maybe they will in a month, but they don't deserve. Eric swale has had plenty of time on cable news, cable, TV, or this whole Russia mess. Phony investigation to make his case to be a presidential candidate if he can't get to above. Eight point two percent. He doesn't deserve to be on the stage. And if you wanted to have one of those tier, one debates earlier in the day tier to find, but having it over two nights, I think the Democrats have created another mess. It's another reason I believe I love your thoughts on this one eight hundred six eight four thirty one ten that the democrat party has no chance in twenty twenty they are. So they are they caused such a mess, folks with what they did to Bernie Sanders, the first time that they have no idea how to run a party anymore. And this will ultimately damages the candidate that comes out on top of because the democrat party is the tau Perez party now here's an interesting statistic. I think we'll just pointed this out the total polling support for candidates on night one. So if you add it all the candidates that are night, one. It comes to twenty one point four percent. The total tolling polling support on ninety two is sixty four percent. So this tells you something significant and Facebook said, it's so sad that people don't completely understand what socialism is. Is and how it affect our country. I think they're about to find out, I mean, I think that is what we're about to find out our phone lines are jammed up. Let's go.

"Include Senator Cory Booker Senator Elizabeth Warren and former Representative beta Aurora. Big names in a second group, include former VP, Joe Biden Senator Harris and southbound, mayor p Buddha, JR. And Senator Bernie Sanders as well. In the meantime, President Trump tried to clarify comments about possibly accepting dirt on a political opponent from a foreign source Trump telling Fox News today, he would have to know what it is before he reports it to a thorns, and if anything is improper. He said it would put it to the attorney general or law enforcement, the full spectrum of presidential politics on display in Iowa this week. The twenty twenty presidential race. Starting to come into sharp focus now. ABC's Ryan burrow has been on the ground in Iowa and spoke with ABC, Sherry Preston. Before we talk about the Joe Biden, Donald Trump faceoff. Let's talk about all the Democrats who were there last weekend that were nineteen candidates who showed up. This is an annual event, the Democratic Party holds a hall of fame dinner, and it was on Sunday night. And we saw Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, Cory Booker, Pete Buddha. Judge all making essentially five minute long pitches to the voters in Iowa. This is why you should vote for me. This is my plan. This is my proposal and of course, getting some shots in Donald Trump along the way, some of them got shots in Joe Biden, because Joe Biden was not there that kind of kick things off here in Iowa, and we're eight months ahead of the Iowa caucuses, and they're interested and excited to be a part of this process. And having candidates go through their backyards everyday isn't something that turns them off and makes them interested? It helps stimulate them and get them talking about some of the issues that. We'll be talking about in two thousand twenty so it should say, Joe Biden didn't show up there because he was in his granddaughter's high school graduation. He got some flack for that for not showing up, but he was like, look, you know, family's important. So after all those Democrats met President Trump was there and the former vice president was there and they were taking shots at each other in Iowa weren't they, you were there. It's funny because I was a pretty big state, and they were nowhere near each other during that stop both add multiple stops, but it was pretty clear that the other was on the others mind, the entire time the way that they were trading barbs back and forth. Joe Biden, on the east side on the campaign, stump calling Trump and existential threat to America says he threatens the core values ripped on Trump's tariffs ripped on him for climate control and really mentioned him quite a bit. I'd say probably about seventy five percent of, of his statements were targeted attacks the president. Meanwhile flash. Council bluffs, where Donald Trump was and Donald Trump continued calling Joe Biden sleepy Joe. Call them a dummy before even flew out there and talked about some of the things that the Obama administration did that he says, hurt American farmers. So these two are clearly on each other's minds, which, you know, keep in mind, we're still eight months away from the caucuses and was an interesting dynamic. That's for sure. Speaking of American farmers. What are they saying about those tariffs? It's hurting them a lot there to two things that are really crushing farmers right now at this moment, if we freeze this moment in time, there are two things. Number one, the Chinese tariffs are really hurting farmers because for the soy, farmers for the corn farmers most of the farmers who farm, Corning Iowa, Illinois. They're really doing. It's more livestock corn as well as ethanol. And what's happening is China's saying, well you know because of these tariffs will just buy from Brazil instead. So that's hurting their ability to sell this export. Number two, is flooding. There has been substantial flooding along the Mississippi River so it'd be in the eastern portion of Iowa. And a lot of the corn growers can't even grow, their crops able to get seeds in the ground Biden has been saying is a lot of this has to do with climate change. Something that the president has refused to deal with. So that's kind of how Joe Biden was hitting him on both ends. Now, Donald Trump defending his agricultural approach saying that, look, he's just approved sixteen billion dollars in aid for these farmers that will help them kind of get over this hump with tariffs and saying that he's also loosened some of the restrictions on ethanol previously, you couldn't use e fifteen gasoline during the summer months. A lot of environmental groups says, say it creates more smog, but he says that, you know, loosening these restrictions and allowing the sale for twelve months of the year is going to be good for the farmers and keep them up on their feet, ABC's Ryan burrow, and.

"Reasons that that she sort of laid out what it is just purely political. She wants to finish her. Herself. I'm her other. Opponents most notably Senator Bernie Sanders who you've seen him are are vying for the left of the party and Bernie has already done a foxy, your town hall, and by going out, and attacking what probably one of the biggest if not the biggest bookie man, the left, you know, she able to distinguish her health and probably rallied voter to the base. Now what she said on her Twitter thread without political. She called them a, you know, a race baiting sort of hate machine that she refused to engage with a hate for profit machine. You know, Dana Perino, the former press secretary to George W Bush, a big part of FOX she put out a little memo to democratic candidates or anybody who wants to come on, Fox News. It's not politically aligned with them and said, you know, six very easy things you can do and it will be a successful appearance. So this more. About Elizabeth Warren trying to take to Benny Bernie Sanders than it is Elizabeth Warren trying to conquer Fox News. Yeah. I think I think in her in was with warns mind in due to its two for the price of one is that by attacking Fox News. She helps attack Bernie Sanders. She may feel strongly about Fox News. I mean, it is notable that Senator Warren hasn't appeared in a solo TV interview on Fox News for well. Over a year. I believe the last appearance was March of twenty eighteen so it's not like she is unlike paying off Fox News after a warm relationship, certainly there, there is a political motive, or at least they political upside to doing that at that moment when she's in the middle of very crowded as primary, but I imagine what she said, I don't want any part of a town hall. That's circus. But if you wanna put it with Bret Baier or Chris Wallace. I I would consider that was that not even discussed, you know, I asked was. Warns team if they could go into give me some background of who they offered as you probably noted Bret Baier and Chris Wallace have done Ulta town halls before one with Amy klobuchar and another with Bernie Sanders, and I imagine that they were offered at wealth was Warren. I don't know that for for sure. But I think Warren made the argument that it didn't matter who the host because any host would be implicitly supporting the network, which as she's called a hate machine. So is is Tom Perez. The Democratic National Committee chair is he going to send her a fruit basket, Saint at least one of my twenty one candidates actually paid attention to my memo. Better be more than one fruit basket because Tom Perez been getting hit over the head over and over and over again by a lot of Democrats after he decided that the DNC would not partner with Fox News for any of the twenty twenty democratic debate. And that's the fact that you know, Chris Wallace did the last presidential debate at the twenty sixteen cycle. And I think a lot of people felt that I actually he did the best job of moderating between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump at yes, Tom Perez is probably very thankful for Warren. Now that finally one democrat seems to agree with him on boycotting network. This is Alex Thomson from politico dot com. Euro a great of piece today at politico dot com about Elizabeth Warren, refusing to go to Fox News. She must realize the incredible reach of Fox News, especially in the upper mid west as a Massachusetts liberal, and they will have a particularly good historical record when it comes to presidential politics as candidates in reaching voters. In wisconsin. And Michigan Ohio downstate, Illinois out Nyla. That's got to be. I mean, that's it's tough to pass on. I would think. Yeah. I think as as Bernie Sanders in himself said when he explained that he understands Fox News, and there's a difference between Fox News and Fox News viewers, and he felt that he should meet voters where they are. As Fox News is very proud of often ups, and stating that they are usually the highest rated network, and so by participating in it, you do have more reach. But you know, I think Senator orange team understood that when they made that she'd be giving up reach and apparently decided that that pencil political cost was worth it. Where does she sit in the polls right now, I mean, obviously Vina's running away with us. I know it's really early obviously. And now there's a rumor and I rented at politico dot com. I think yesterday one of your one of your colleague. Wrote this piece, and look this Biden Senator Harris ticket could be the be all end all for the Democrats. Elizabeth Warren is she's fading fast. Isn't she? Well, it'd been warned faded quite fast near the beginning. I'd actually say that she's still lingering around four six and most of the polls early people and national polls usually hovers some of the high single digits, low sing low double digits, but she actually has had a very slight slight uptick and the last ever since he heard calling for impeachment. And you know, she went on, you know, called for forgiving student loan debt. And now with the Fox News thing if she had a little bit of an uptick, she's gotten a lot of media coverage. That's still puts her in new probably the second tier of not the the top of the third, but she, but, you know, her problem, I think stemmed from the beginning of the campaign where I think she's struggled a little bit more. You know, Alex, I said this. I used to admire the Chris Christie would go on the Rachel Maddow show on a regular basis. Take her questions because I if you can't if you're a presidential candidate to sit in the big chair at sixteen hundred negotiate with the Chinese or Putin, or whomever, and you can't take on Fox News. I have a problem with that. And the reverse is well, Republicans refuse to go on MSNBC or even CNN. I think they're cowardly as well. I think it's a huge mistake for Elizabeth Warren not to take this opportunity at FOX. Yeah. I think a lot of voters feel that way to a lot of voters admire people that down and take really tough questions from from top reporters that obviously just with them warns team would say that that you at every single time that she hasn't event or most of the time when she hasn't been she does take questions from reporters more than any other twenty twenty candidate. Really, you know, when she does events on the road, I've been there have been so for the side, you know, it is a different. I will say it is different. Sort of formed when you're just taking, you know, five six questions after event versus a prolonged back and forth interview with someone. That's really tough. Yeah. I get her passing on Tucker Carlson or Laura Ingram or Sean Hannity fine. But there's other options for Fox News. And I think it's just a quite cowardly actually, Alex, thanks for your time. This eighty much appreciate will read more political dot com. Thank you so much for having me..
