Kelly has not worked at our ourselves location and over two months Nhs sequoia has not treated any patients due to complications related. Ta- taking ivermectin. This includes not treating any patients for ivermectin overdose. So this doctor that takes this hippocratic oath. Just straight up lie to spread an era of and me tell you guys something. This is what. I'm concerned about when it comes to kobe. Nineteen when it comes to these These these jobs forcing people to take vaccines and by the way. I'm against that. I've i've been thinking about this a lot. Carl are you for listen. These are private businesses. Do they have the right to tell you what to put in your body heck no. They don't understand that they tell you to wear a uniform. I get that. I understand if they tell you to be on time. I understand if they tell you the conduct yourself in such a manner. But if i put something for and into my body they can cause my body harm. They don't have a right to do that. I'm sorry that ain't free market capitalism. I don't know what that is but that ain't free market capitalism. I can tell you that is absolute nonsense to me. But i'm no i'm sorry. I don't believe businesses have the right to do that. And i know i can hear the left wingers now. What about abortion. What about abortion were baby eg when the sperm meets the egg they have a separate dna strand. Get with the science. Get with the science absolutely crazy so this doctor straight lied and this is what scares me because of more and more doctors act like this and then you gotta you got an administration like we have in the white house now. The biden harrison administration were. These people are pushing this bill back. Better socialism Nonsense what do you think it's going to happen to. Our medical system. Remember biden is there to complete what barack obama started. And that is the fundamental transformation of america with obamacare. That was so that that that was the. That's the slippery slope. That was are the starting point for socialized medicine and sadly more and more people are falling for it. You'd get so much better care if our doctors were not partisan hacks and if you could go in if they had to compete for our business not based upon what party we are not based upon. "Thanks So much for having me. I'm really excited to be here. I want to find out because I've been trying forever to get somebody from the National Women's Law Center to be on And then I heard through the grapevine that you worked there. And the grapevine did help me get in contact with you. And and and And here we are. I want to find out Maura about what you guys do. But first more about you. You grew up in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Yes. So I was born and raised in Santa Fe. I went toc and if a prep and then attended the George Washington University here in Washington, D C for college and graduated in 2019, and now I've been Working and living in D. C for the past year and a half almost two years now at the National Women's Law Center, so still early on in my career, But, um, really excited to be doing the work that we're doing here in D C. Now your mother is a lawyer and a city councilor. And your dad is a lawyer and the Majority leader in the state Senate. Are you an attorney? I am not an attorney. I will say the National Women's Law Center is a legal and advocacy organization. And one of the things that I have really enjoyed working with my colleagues is because they are lawyers, and they've demonstrated through their work throughout this pandemic that you know lawyers can also be advocates. And I think I used to always see lawyers has kind of been like an academic way and working at the law center had showed me that lawyers can be advocates and are often wonderful Advocates and We'll see about law school for me. I was gonna ask you, which is this kind of a I don't know an internship to see if you're interested in law or what kind of law or maybe not being a lawyer, but being involved with the group advocacy groups like the like The Law Center. Yeah, I think it's definitely a good look into what you could do with a law degree. I also think you know, like I mentioned, um, law school isn't necessarily the only path that I'm exploring going forward, But I think it's definitely a way to create real change in our society. And, um, you know, would be privileged to have that opportunity. So the other path you're probably looking at is running for office. Uh, not yet anyway. You have some politicians in the family. Dios? Yes. So you live in D C, um What's that, like right now? And he said You've been there a couple years in DC No, actually, you've been there longer than you would to school there went to college there. That's right. How much is it changed? Like Trump came into power didn't get weird like this giant dark cloud parked itself over D. C. Yeah, well, I think what's exciting is that for those of us who have lived in D. C for the past four years, we're now seeing this new administration come in first female vice president, which I'm super excited about first black president, vice president and I think you know it's definitely been a hard for years. But we're starting to feel that hope again here and At least at the law center. We are really excited about this 1st 100 days of Biden's administration, and I'm actually working on a project called 100 Wins in 100 Days, which is going to track what the body administration is doing for women and girls in the 1st 100 days. So will literally be checking off the winds celebrating them and finding some joy here in D. C because it has certainly been Not like that for the past four years. Alright, I want to hear about some of those boxes You need to check off. But the bite administration to Biden. Harrison's administration came in. You know, kind of in this very unusual way, with with violence in the capital being attacked and all that. The people are people still kind of on edge and the sea around all of that, looking over their shoulder eyes, the security kind of aiding and kind of tamping down the anxiety. You know, I will say I've definitely seen, you know, National guard in my neighborhood. I live three blocks from Capitol Hill. But I think at the end of the day what folks have forgotten is that you know, D C is a highly functioning, vibrant city. And though we aren't a state yet, I do think you know the citizens of DC are really excited to just get back to life as usual. We've always had the federal government here so You know, it's kind of just back to life is normal. Our guess. Is he Lena Worth? The proud daughter of Santa Fe, New Mexico, now in DC, at the National Women's Law Center. So what issues does the center work on? What I mean? What are the like six or eight top issues? You guys work on? Yeah. Excuse me. Right? Yes, So the way I like to talk about it is where illegal and advocacy organization that addresses all issues that impact women and girls. So whether that be health care, equal pay, minimum wage, sexual harassment, reproductive health care. We address all of those issues and both at the federal and state level. All right. You said you had a project several projects. But one of these is the 100 wins and 100 days is that what it is called? That's correct. All right. So what are the mean like? The top 20 issues or whatever, however, you want to rank it of the boxes. You want to check off and, you know, call Joe Biden up every day and say, Dude, you're not doing this. You're not doing this. Not doing this that you would like to see the Biden Harris administration tackle. Big issues, you know, forwarding the you know the mission of of women and girls. Yeah. So I think obviously, covert relief is a big one. We know that women and girls and especially women of color have been impacted the most by this pandemic. So we're hoping for a covert relief package within, you know, maybe the next few weeks. We also talk about the Equality Act on there. Obviously. Expanding reproductive health care and access to abortion care in this country, which, although Roe v. Wade is a law of the land. It hasn't always been a reality for all women and people who need abortion care in this country, and I think No, That's definitely a big priority. And we also talk about increasing the minimum wage to $15, especially during a pandemic, but also just in regular life. I think it's easy to forget that a lot of these issues that we're now facing during the pandemic have been around long before we were in a pandemic. And it's exciting that now. Ah, lot of these issues are actually coming to the forefront and are starting to be addressed by our policy makers. So I think that's kind of my silver lining of the pandemic, if you will, is that, Ah lot of issues that previously were not in like the mainstream narrative are now really at the forefront. So how are you going to? I mean, other than I guess bringing these to the attention of and it's not like the Biden Harris Administration is not aware of all these issues. They're working on them. How are you going to, you know to motivate them or how are you going to move the needle on these issues? I mean, you know, Joe Biden did the executive orders doing like 30 those a day's hands getting sore? For $15 an hour, but that's only for federal workers. Yes. So I think that's also where the public comes in right, like we want to make sure that our government is working on behalf of the people. And I think this campaign 100 wins in 100 Days is also about public engagement. Getting folks to say this is something that I care about, and that I want to see the federal government take action on And the cool thing about having a list like this is that you can go to the.

So You know, there's something on there that you see that hasn't been done that you are passionate about. You can write to your congressman or senator and make sure that they're also part of the conversation. So is something highlighted there on the women's and the girls. Issues like this 100 wins and 100 Days is that is that a parent thing with a list and check box? So it's all around women and girls, and you will be able to find it right away. Our digital team has made it front and center so that folks can follow along with in this 1st 100 days of the Biden administration. It's good website, and that's how I became aware of the National Women's Law Center. And then I signed up for the the newsletters. I get those all the time from you guys and I've written back and said, How can I get someone in the radio show? And basically, I guess because I'm a dude and I'm in New Mexico out of sight.
