Democrats control Senate after three new senators are sworn in

"Hours hours after after President President Joe Joe Biden Biden and and Vice Vice President President Kamila Kamila Harris Harris were were sworn sworn in in the the Senate Senate got got back back to work. Today, Control shifted from Republicans, two Democrats by the slimmest possible margin. First Vice President Harris swore in the new Democratic senators from Georgia who will give her party the numerical edge. And that you will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which you are about to enter. So help you God. Yeah. Congratulations to tell us more. We're joined now by NPR Congressional reporter Claudia Gristle aside there. Hi, Ari. Tell us more about what happened today. So the Senate finalized their transfer of power from a Republican led chambers has been the case since 2015 to 1 that is divided 50 50 and led by one Democrat as the tiebreaker. And that's Vice President Kamala Harris. Democrats 12 weeks ago. But finally today, these two new senators from Georgia, Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff's who shifted control of the chamber were sworn in and this is ahead of some very heavy lifts ahead. The chambers. New Majority Leader Chuck Schumer in his floor in his former marks, said quote I need to catch my breath so much is happening. But he's already highlighted three big tasks ahead a Senate impeachment trial for former President Donald Trump confirming Biden's Cabinet nominees and taking up a $1.9 trillion biting proposal for new coronavirus coronavirus relief aid. Yeah, Those are three very big tasks. What are Republicans saying about the next steps? We saw Republican leaders extending all of branch today trying to bridge some of this dramatic divide the trump years brought with Democrats. For example, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell acknowledged this transfer of power in his hopes to work with Biden. And this is the theme I heard from other Republicans today, they thought bite, instruct the right tone. In his inauguration speech, lifting these bipartisan hopes I talked to Alaska senators Lisa Murkowski, Let's take a listen. You can still disagree from a policy perspective and you can do so in ways that are still respectful and allow you to continue to work towards other goals. I also caught up with GOP Senator Susan Collins of Maine, who sounded a similar note. She said Biden struck those right themes of unity and a call for parties to stop viewing one another as adversaries, and she stands ready to advance their common goals. And West Virginia Democratic Senator Joe Manchin told Capitol Hill reporters today that a bipartisan group that includes workhouse game Collins would be meeting with Biden administration in the coming days. So again, this bipartisan theme was much of what I heard today from both sides. So how are they plan to tackle impeachment, massive legislation and confirming Biden's cabinet all at once? That will be a real test for whether members can talk into gum at the same time, as they like to say. Democrats are betting they can. One proposal that's being entertained is whether they can split their days between an impeachment trial and confirming these nominees. But first they need to reach a power sharing agreement with Republicans. Then they hope to tackle these big ticket items at warp speed in the coming days. Legacy Of Muslim Travel Ban Will Be Hard For Biden To Erase

"Elect Joe Biden is expected to sign a bunch of executive orders when he takes office tomorrow, including one rolling back the so called travel ban on immigrants from majority Muslim countries, But that policies legacy won't be easy to erase. Here's NPR's Joel Rose. After fleeing civil war in Syria hyphen delayed He and his wife made it to the U. S in early 2017. They hope their daughter and her family would soon follow. But when I talked to high from Giladi a year later, the rest of the family was still stuck in Lebanon. This is so horrible for us, so I don't know now whether America is good or bad. The body and his wife got into the U. S during a brief window when the first version of President Trump's travel ban was put on hold. The months that followed. Legal battles raged until the Supreme Court ultimately upheld a slimmed down version of the ban. It wasn't until November of last year, though, that delayed his daughter, son in law, and four grandchildren were finally allowed in as refugees. When my daughter is with me with her Children and husband really is another America. Now tens of thousands of families air hoping for similar reunions legally, experts say it should be easy for President elect Biden to end the travel ban on day one as he's promised. Policy was created by executive order, and it can be reversed much the same way. But immigrant advocates say the hard work is still ahead. It's not just what they conduce the stroke of the pen. Immigration Hardliners, though, say it would be a mistake to end the travel ban completely. "Amy Walter on the takeaway campaign 2020. We knew it was going to be tumultuous, but none of us could have predicted the twists and turns. Or what can really only be described as a national trauma. More than 220,000 deaths due to covert 19. Economic devastation, a reckoning with systemic racism and police violence. And now just days out from the election, we're seeing unprecedented early voting. About 60% of the total 2016 vote has already been cast, and most experts are predicting participation to be one of the highest in modern history. Daily daily use of information has often made it difficult to separate the signal from all the noise of 2020. Which is why I've brought in three people who have been regular guests on the show and who I think are some of the smartest and most insightful chroniclers of this moment. Clare Malone, the senior politics writer at Fivethirtyeight, Maya King, Political reporter at Politico. And Heather, Long economics correspondent for The Washington Post. Hi, Claire. Hi, Heather. Hi, Maya. I mean, Amy to get this conversation started. I asked you to think of a moment that really for you defined the 2020 campaign in one way or the other and Claire, I know your moment came during the primary, so I'm going to start with you. Yeah, My moment was was when Joe Biden was interviewed by three New York radio deejay Charlemagne, the God who's Who's kind of become more than a radio deejay. He's become the best interviewer of Democratic political candidates because he asked hard questions and, hey, asked in an interview. Kind of wide black voters should vote for Joe Biden. You know, kind of getting to this idea that the Democratic Party was maybe not doing enough for black people, and Biden said something along the lines of if you have a problem figuring out whether you're from Mayor Trump And you ain't black. And to me that encapsulated a lot of things about Joe Biden's campaign one just Joe Biden's Biden nous. It was And Awkward, probably inappropriate thing for older white man to say, but also demonstrated. You know that question and his answer demonstrated a dynamic within the Democratic Party. One is that you know a lot of younger, more liberal people. Younger black people are goingto probably want to start demanding different policies from the Democratic Party. I think, particularly after this summer and the protests that we've seen across America You know, That's something that certainly bubbling up. But it also captured the idea the heart of this race, which was this's all a referendum on Donald Trump, right? Kind of nothing else matters. And in some ways, Joe Biden was a bit of the anemic candidate. I mean, he's certainly Maintain a steady place in the polls for the whole way through the race, But he was never particularly beloved by a lot of, you know, coalitions in the party, and I just thought that that moment Really captured his essence. As a candidate. You write that the race really is about Donald Trump at no matter what has happened all through 2020. He has been the center sort of the the straws during the drink, Maya what aboutyou? So my moment is in a similar vein. Actually, I'm thinking about Joe Biden's South Carolina sweep that really set him up for success the rest during the rest of the primary. And then, of course. Into now the president and I think one it's solidified the role that black voters play on DH have played in Democratic politics Again Times two Plus established South Carolina as an even more valuable state to take during the primary, especially in the wake of the Iowa debacle. For those of us who are old enough to remember that on DH, it made us you know, I think it got voters in the minds that whether we realize it or not, you really expect the unexpected and that's really all this year has been about is just twists and turns at every Stage and really trying to figure out how to how to roll with it. So yeah, that was really my moment. I think it established kind of where we're at, of course electorally with invited as the Democratic nominee. But also again really solidified the role of black voters and the rule of just plot twists in this really wild presidential season. I I'm glad you use the word plot twist because that was my moment to And I think this has been the challenge for so many of us who covered 2016 and then are covering 2020, which is to see 2020 has a different election than 2016. But in that vein as we watched the Democratic primary go from The Iowa debacle to New Hampshire to Nevada to South Carolina. It looked as if Democrats were going to do what Republicans did in 2016, which has continued to split the vote. You know among two or three candidates, and it would either mean that Maybe Bernie Sanders could pull this out and be the nominee or that we were going to end up at the at the end of a really long drawn out primary process with Very sort of bruised nominee or what many political reporters were posting about the possibility of the first Contested convention in our lifetimes. And then, of course, there was maybe Michael Bloomberg's going to sweep in and buy the party and and quote unquote save everyone. So that moment when, on March 2nd He put a judge and Amy Klobuchar and better or work all bonded together. To endorse Joe Biden. You know, these are politicians by their nature, their incredibly ambitious and they're not their job is to look out for themselves. But it kind of goes back to Claire's point, which is what has been driving this election. Really, since 2017, which is beating Donald Trump as the centerpiece of all of it, and that Policy ideology. All of those things have taken a back seat Tio unifying around one thing, which is beating Donald Trump, and it's going to set up for I can't wait to have this conversation with you all then..

Okay very quick transition item number two, which is that during that long hard winter when people can't go out because the viruses raging essential workers will still be going out some of them of who worked for Amazon which released earnings this afternoon and these numbers are just staggering and I just WanNa. Mention. Net sales in the third quarter only in three months ninety, six, billion dollars up thirty, seven percent from a year ago. So those are just staggering numbers as we can see by Amazon trucks wrapping up the one little tidbit that I love out of this though. How much they're paying for shipping worldwide to get all that stuff to us next. Fifteen Billion Dollars In Shipping. That's just a lot of boxes and trucks and planes and. It's GonNa wild and that's you know. That's the way this economy's changing. I also love it very high up in that press release that you linked to is them congratulating themselves on raising the minimum wage to fifteen dollars an hour and kind of casting shade on others in the industry for not. when at the same time, there's been a lot of reporting and complaints about how Amazon has been treating its workers in the pandemic in terms of hazard pay and and how. All of this increased demand has put increased stress on these workers but they did sort of step forward on on that. You know. So the response to the fight for fifteen as they called it, but it will be, yes. Essential workers have been out there and are still out there and many of them are not making. A living wage still and the hero pay and the hazard pay all these things we heard early in the pandemic have not lasted and many people expected at the beginning that they wouldn't and how folks who still have to be out and about in the world. "To it. to But it. But to to tell tell you truth, you truth, I don't I think don't much think much will change. will change. But But anyway, anyway, I I wanted wanted to ask to ask you you about about Joe Joe Biden Biden Yesterday. Yesterday. I I the the Early Early indication indication was was that he'd that put he'd put a lid a lid on on his campaign his campaign but but apparently apparently was was convinced convinced to do to something do something because, because, after after all, it all, is it only is only a a week week to go. to go. And And what what they did they did is they is drove they drove in 45 in 45 minutes minutes to Pennsylvania to Pennsylvania for for a a quick quick little little Ah, Ah, Photo Photo op op and and getting getting speech. speech. Do Do you think you think it's it's kind kind of odd of odd that that he's he's with with one one week week to go to go that that that's that's the best the best they can they can do do on that on that particular particular day yesterday? day yesterday? Well Well again, again, if it if was it something was something that was that unplanned, was unplanned, and and they hadn't they hadn't done done it it asleep asleep by by the books the books like like I mean, I mean, if you if look you look at the rest at the rest of his of weak his weak here, here, it's it's pretty pretty filled filled up up with stuff. with stuff. But But when when you you and and then frankly then frankly going going into into early early next next week, week, but but if if this this was was something something that was that was unplanned, unplanned, then then I think I think it was, it was, you know, an you know, an opportunity opportunity that that they took they took advantage advantage of of on some on some level, level, certainly certainly with president with president from from doing doing three three different different events, events, But But Biden Biden was was in in Pennsylvania Pennsylvania the night the night before, before, so so Sunday Sunday night. night. He was He was in Pennsylvania in Pennsylvania having having an event. an event. Trump Trump had his had his three events three events there yesterday. there yesterday. So So I I guess guess just just having having Biden Biden go back go back to Pennsylvania to Pennsylvania is no is big no big deal deal the next the next date over date over so so but but it would it seem would seem is, is, though there though there was was a little a bit little of bit pressure of pressure put put on on him him to do to do something something on on some some level level and you're and going you're going to see to see him him in in Georgia Georgia today. today. Right Right now, we now, we have have no announcement no announcement for what's for what's happening happening on Wednesday on Wednesday Thursday. Thursday. He's He's going going to be to in be in Florida Florida Friday Friday in in Iowa Iowa and and Wisconsin Wisconsin Saturday Saturday in Michigan. in Michigan. Nothing Nothing yet yet on on Sunday Sunday and then and on then Monday on Monday in in Ohio. Ohio. So when So when you look you look at his at his weak weak compared compared to President to President Trump's Trump's president president Trump, Trump, of course, of course, have those have those three three rallies rallies Yesterday. Yesterday. He'll be He'll in be Michigan, in Michigan, Wisconsin, Wisconsin, Nebraska Nebraska today today and and then in then Arizona in Arizona and Nevada and Nevada on Wednesday on Wednesday and and then nothing then nothing else. else. We've got We've nothing got nothing else else scheduled scheduled for President for President Trump Trump going going up to up Election to Election Day, Day, So So I'll I'll be interesting be interesting to see to see how how this this all all plays plays out, out, especially especially because because there seems there seems to be to plenty be plenty of availability. of availability. If If either either one one of those of candidates those candidates wanted wanted to make to make a stop a stop in in Texas Texas or or any any of these of other these other states states that air that seemingly air seemingly quickly quickly turning turning into into battleground battleground states. states.

"And he'll take the lead. Thiss is the Sean Hannity show. Suit up. Chin down. Welcome to the Sean Hannity Show 25 till the top of the hour. 809 for one, Shawn, You want to be a part of this extra Rava Gansa? Look, it's 33 days and you're the old Tum, a jury. I cannot emphasize enough that I cannot 33 days out. I will not be able to in any time in the next 33 days. Tell you 100% what the results are going to be. I expect it to be extraordinarily tight. I expected to be a fight to the finish. I expect that the hard left that hates Donald Trump that the ones that were willing to spy on a candidate and a transition team and a president. The ones that have smeared, slandered, besmirched, libeled and have spent every second minute hour of every day trying to destroy this man. Impeach this man if you do not want a Biden presidency You if you don't want it if you'd like the country if you prefer. I love what manpower you're saying built Trump tough if you want a fighting president And you want to support a president. I've never seen one treated so horribly in my life, and you can add to the institutional forces. All of these. These weak rhino Lincoln Project Republicans or M s DNC Republicans. Which is a joke. My attitude is you get Joe Biden Biden. You broke the country you now you own it. You alone, the court packing you alone the end the attempted end of the Electoral college. You will own the end of the legislative filibuster. You will own the new green deal. You will own amnesty and open borders. You will own energy dependence. You will own higher taxes. You will own activist justices. You will own a weak foreign policy. You will own it all. But we can prevent that you the American people can prevent that. And that's that's what their goal is in the next 33 days. I don't trust them. I don't trust these these late minute rule changes that are being made to voting laws and vote counting and melon voting and all. I don't trust any of it. The only thing it was interesting Birdie was on last night on Hannity. And Rudy said I well, when I was running for mayor in a city where Republicans are outnumbered 9 to 1, I'd asked my campaign people. How many how many votes do you think they're going to try and steal about you? Gotta figure least 50 or 100,000. I would assume that, you know, So look, It's good, I'll I'm on Ly.

"Can check out. Hey, my hands on. God. I. They weren't. Coming up with it while I was getting. So I. You gotTa Find Young. Gajah joint. So So hopefully, as soon as we can turn the page and get new members because this is like the opportunity and a lot of the way Washington works when there's like a new administration in town in like a new majority like then you may be, you can get some big things done and that's the our best hope unfortunately is trying to get big things done in early twenty, twenty one. Year we. I. Mean we shouldn't give up hope like we should be pushing Congress, to do it right now. We can all see we representative Ken Buck on the show a couple of weeks ago. Colorado and he was straight up like, yeah. Nothing's going to happen till after the election like he was honest with us and he was he was Rochat it's total bullshit and even after I've been watching congressional updates this week and you know even after that push of Oh. Hey let's get it done. It was all lips or no no stimulus know police reform no nothing for curious until after the election. So you're right I mean maybe new people who don't have the leading their pants would be able to get some this stuff actually. GonNa turn toward. to help modernize government. So I think we should have term limits for members of Congress I. Think we need public campaign finance reform I. Think we need a ranked choice voting would open up a lot of these races so that no one ever gets bullied for. Your vote or any of that stuff I'm like we need some process changes if our government is going to start listening to us, we think about these two big ones term limits and campaign finance reform. I think we need term limits in DC and seventy six percent of Americans agree that sending people to DC should mean they come home and they don't stay there forever, which is presently the case. Twenty four percent of people check the wrong box. What I what around the country and I said like you know we need term limits like everyone would be like heck yes like no, one thinks this is working right now you have leadership that's that got elected in the nineties or eighty s and you know they've been in DC for decades at this point like you gotta turn it over and Get some fresh points of view in there and some bias towards action because if you've been there forever, then you know you can just chill out like you need to go. Yeah you need to go in and be like look I need to get something done and I'm going to go home and I'm going to answer to people because I actually going to go live there again. Andrea and if you had term limits, maybe campaign finance wouldn't be as big of a deal as it is. Now with the numbers, we went over at the top with the incumbency advantage was. One hundred demonte dollars for every voter where you can get one hundred bucks and then it makes us all into investor predicted reason why we all love that his thank you know like that we can kind of see what's going on. We're willing to put where I'm out is if you make every voter like an investor, then they actually feel included then it'd be like, okay like this person now listen to that I'm gonNA. Give. Twenty five bucks. Like that, that would be a game changer. It would right now something like ten percent of Americans contribute to any political campaign under the sun and the real numbers lower than that because anything two hundred dollars is like one percent no one's giving money. So all the politicians answering to very, very narrow band of humans who tend to equate rich. Or corporate interests, and so if you put money voters hands than you actually they might get legislators listening to us. And what do you think about the you know the big news right now is that the the trump quoted a you know he might not leave office peacefully if he's not, you know if he if he doesn't get elected again is are you gonNA is the end gang gonna it's GonNa Roll in there and remove him forcefully if that if that happens with what's going to happen there. I hope it doesn't come to that. Really. I'm going to stick to. Cross that bridge. When we get to it and I believe that the folks in the military would be all for like a a peaceful transition enforcement of the election results were, and that's where the rubber hits the road I mean you still have to have the the outcome, but I think he would leave. I think that's just But More importantly and more likely. What do you think the date will be that we find out who won the? That's a tough one. I don't think it's going to be November third unfortunately I don't us. So settle in you know someone's not instead of thinking election day we should think of it as election months and that can be also before election. Day Too because a lot of places are allowing for mail in voting or early voting. So start thinking about this right now like check your voter registration at I will vote Dot Com and make sure you're registered get your ballot in and then you have to worry about it. "Well, we'd have a national approach and one of the things that has infuriated me is that when it came to getting P p. e. communities, there was essentially a free for all and I know this because I was talking to various communities that were trying to get their hands on PP hospitals now at school district and you had a competition because there was a Limited supply and the feds instead of organizing distribution they actually competed with states. So you had rich states competing with poor states competing with the feds. Total. Like total shit show honestly like there was no. All the fraud claims coming out of it. You could see. Yeah. Yeah, and then you had certain companies being like, Hey, we've got your P P industry upcharging you know. I saw I thought about committing fraud there I mean I'll be honest with you. I think cross a few people's minds but. You'd have at least a national approach where you say, okay, like here, the guidelines were GonNa do instead of having this like competitive free for all, we're going to try and prioritize. You'd have uniform guidance instead of like a an administration that sends mixed messages on any day. Yeah and and these things would help The big thing really is a resource allocation where if you have a school, say try and reopened but guess what? I mean just saw that said something like eighty three percent of teachers had to buy their own P. because they were going into class and they're like, well, I guess I need a mask or shield or something like stunt something on my desk guy in order to feel safe classroom and we didn't provide that what what the heck is going on there where like if you're going to be open to school like freaking at least get some supplies in the door. We would hear about it and whenever we would criticize you, we would hear about it. One of the things we criticized you for was you didn't. have. Enough in the debates in our opinion and speaking signed the money on you Andrew. Cash we would bet on your predicted and not have the. We're talking about the money but. there. were times when I saw the prediction markets and I was like I could affect that one. Maybe. Maybe should be a little bit self delete here a little bit of what about the tweet markets. That was the big one for you or star of predicted for a couple of months with architects could you get to sign up for your account on that? Yeah. That one I could easily of games I saw that Shit I was like, yeah. But you know I'm a man of integrity and Okay. There's no, there's no controversy K. was no controversy predicted. there is not that I know of I really appreciate it all the activity and and there were times on the trail. I cited it where because the pyramid when you know I'd be talking to audiences and our New Hampshire and there was a degree of skepticism about whether I could I was like, yeah, prediction markets that'd be. Smart money like you guys need today. They say it's better than the polls, the prediction markets. Go to predict it dot org slash Promo Slash Heart factor twenty that unique you are l. get your first twenty bucks matched on us in the stock market politics and Andrew. We all have a couple of questions for you about predictions but mine is give us one St Rethink. Joe Biden has a better chance to win then the pundits do. The patrol political earthquake in twenty twenty is great state of Texas that it genuinely seems like it's competitive, and if that goes to Biden, obviously it's game over not just in twenty twenty but that would actually change things moving forward and I think it's implied think this could be the one. This could be the time. That's it's bold claim almost all Californians moving to Texas I've been yeah we're all Texas boys. Lived there except for Willie's Reno. Nevada right now. But I I've been driving around Texas law the law of trump signs up suits. It's tough to tell I. I. See a lot of Biden science to when I when I go and. That's why kind of a bold prediction but if you look at birds. Dem's of gun closer and I genuinely think this is going to wind up looking like a change election where seventy two percent of Americans think is the worst time ever that we've ever lived. and. So that's a terrible number for an incumbent like I and I talked to many people voted for Donald, trump in two thousand sixteen or like this is not the this is not the bargain I was hoping for you know. Is it bad Time. We've ever lived because all. died from chronic arse 'cause they can't those those people would probably remember a slightly worse time, but it is a bad time. And no one can remember it and I thought about it too. I was like what? What time has anyone live that would be comparable. We heard sixty, eight, sixty eight was bad. Small businesses entrepreneurship, which is a topic is near and dear to my heart because I love small businesses, they're going to be viable for any comeback right now there's a suffering in such A. Massive scale right now, I just want to do anything I can help. You, can you give us a sense of like what exactly that that that job will entail and what your plans are. By my job right now is to make the case, the small business owners that Jones going to be better for you, and I feel for small business owners and I also feel for the sense that like a lot of them don't think the Democrats, really get them and it's something that I want to help with in terms of Joe and Kamala WanNa do for small business owners. "Why is that aren't they elected for for the people by the people like why? Why is that? Is it because the Super Pacs the big defense contractors like why is that? So here, a couple of numbers this is fun is this really is a little bit like sports So the satisfaction rate with Carson how they're doing right now is twenty one percent that's very, very low. The reelection rate for incumbent members of Congress is ninety four percent. Very very different numbers. So then you look and say, why is it that incumbents win all the time and incumbents win part because they start out with it's called a million dollar cash advantage and the average successful congressional candidate named. Big stock we'd small stack. It's like poker. Yeah. Yes and so the the average congressional campaign raises one point six, million dollars. For the Senate, it's ten point four, million dollars. So you have to ask yourself what kind of human being in America going to be on a raised seven figures for a race. It's a very, very small people they tend to be frankly rich themselves like no a lot of rich people to begin with. And so you have an incumbency advantage that is so high that I'm more concerned about pissing off folks who are very very extreme within my base than I am general public's opinion of me because. I've got a party primary got a million dollars in cash I've got ninety four percent win rate, and so I'm better served by standing on my side saying it's their fall than I am in compromising and getting remarried. The big companies, basically the the to can you name one politician on either side that that hasn't done what you just said. There a group Congressman Right. Now that are pushing for cash relief. They call themselves problem solvers caucus there about forty of them Tim Ryan from Ohio is one of them One of the good ones Aurora Konin California is another good one where they're trying to get on behalf of the American people in your party leadership That's. Standing and saying it's the other side's fault That's how bad it is right now that several dozen members of Congress said like Look Party leadership beside here's a compromise bill we should vote on that. And they have the right idea we should be voting on that bill. Yeah let's try to actually do good things I. so like back to the Yugai portion of it Andrew I mean a lot of us have pretty much all of us have worked in the service industry or is delivery drivers at some point in our careers I. my question for you is you know. How long do you think until those types of jobs are just totally done by robots and then at that point where Americans going to work I know you've talked about a human centered economy what we need to move towards I just want to hear your thoughts as the guy who sort of innovated the concept you know, where do you see it going in terms of the actual industries going away and where will people be working in that type? Of thing his happening right now where right now, we've gone through ten years where with the change in the economy in ten weeks and you can all see it where if you go into the grocery store that the self checkout line is everywhere in, you welcome it at a good thing because it means less human talents, use it. I use use a purpose because I'm not giving them that I worked on that software I'm part of the problem who And at this point, they know have companies have said during the pandemic, they're ramping up their investments in automation everything from Tyson foods, meatpacking processing plant because meatpacking workers were gonNA. Sped up enormously. So if you look at. Jobs other getting displaced right and left you have at least eleven million Americans lost their jobs during this pandemic and forty two percent of the jobs are projected never to come back. So. So you're seeing this transformation in right now it's not speculative. It's It's twenty twenty and the question is how quickly can our government actually start to make the big changes that we would need and? Very discouraging because they can't even get the basics done like. Get cash people during the pandemic much less try and humanize the economy on a higher scale I am. Obviously Joe Camel on I. think that we have a better chance of making these changes with them in office. But the changes need to be seen again in the time line has been accelerated by this pandemic. Do you think I could start applying for jobs as a robot and trick people. thinking. I'm like a robot sin. and working my robots skills. We all need to work in our about skills unfortunately. WHOA. We attack these robots or like is the can we are? Is there any update you in the tech sector? Is there any update on time machine to go back and do a t to like situation take takeout skynet or Simba calories and the question is who's the target like? No, let let Al Gore invented the Internet. Yes. Start with Gordon maybe. Gore was the problem thoroughly. Do you find it frustrating. Why do you think it's so hard for the people that are going to need you bi the most to that they find it. So challenging to even entertain the idea like is that like what do you say about that? Again fifty five percent of Americans are forwarded this point because it is common sense but but right now we're getting polarized by. Certain messages in appeals, that JEN UP ENTHUSIASM ENGAGEMENT FOR CERTAIN MEDIA COMPANIES CERTAIN social media companies. They're distractions from the things that we can actually do..

"It is Monday September twenty. Eight, twenty twenty. We have a huge show Biz interview with Andrew Yang fucking Yang Yang. Man What a big it was it was it was a great conversation I. think Everybody's going to really enjoy it. But before we hit a couple of quick stories before that interview, we learned that twenty twenty football season bad for all of us here at heart factor. So. We're recording this right after the eagles star. gave up on best I'm so embarrassed eagles performance they wanted for the Thai I mean go forward on fourth and fourteen or try the sixty four hundred Jim Kelly Scott count like. Back. Fuck, fucking Brennan. Walkers fat head all day to day. You're there. You saw him. You saw be walk I mean, he's gotTa be on cloud nine eighty trashed them a little bit on Friday going down can. You didn't know that this. Our team was okay I have known well well, I, mean there was were sides Stanley coming out and Friday night when he got sick was was really bad. But then the Lsu Tigers gave up the single game record for passing yards. How do you give up six hundred and twenty, six, hundred, forty, three yards rushing? Yards well, he was he's not a no-name Grad transfer is a Mike Leach. Mike Leach. Basically got. Big Time leases hilarious by the way. More his post game was a fucking funny interview to which. Mike Leach. Good go home loves it. Yeah. Go hokies. I. Love It for be happy for him and I'm happy for the SEC because brings in Mike Leach. Hilarious like now you've got Sabin another. In the SEC that's what we want. WanNa have great. Coaching Personalities League. That makes the College Leagues that that. That's what they're all about. So I mean it's Not Happy for Brennan Walker Rooting Against Him and I wanted him to be in the course. Of course I'd rather beat Mississippi state but you know I mean I am happy that it brings another solid this down. Mississippi states actually they're going to be something to watch I'm considering setting this t shirt on fire after we're done recording don't blame Dole for the tie is What you need we need to. Go for the tie Nick Foles, who won the? Super Bowl ever just just. Had An incredible comeback for the bears who had decided to not start him game one. Bear started how the fuck is on the bench. Explaining how the fuck on the bears. Eagles Yeah didn't he soon? Won a super bowl for them, and then they let them go and then he came back and then one like a playoff game. And then they let them go. Wrong with this. disrespected. He must. He must. Listen. To. Four, four quick stories, Fellas before we hit the an interview. This first one is about these are all based. And scotus updates before we hit that Yang interviews so This this first one is about a CB amy coney bear the heavy favourite. We talked about last week to replace our BG on the Supreme. Court has been formally nominated on Saturday, and now the process will commence to confirm her to the Supreme Court probably before the election on November third the confirmation hearings for her begin in the Senate on October twelfth and. Set Table in her acceptance speech saying that she's mindful of who she'll be replacing our g but that she was also trained most notably by RPG's friend Antony Scalia and that's what people should expect from her and her judgements despite her being a mom of seven. That's surprising. Such a conservative justice lot of kids. So many kids couple of adopted I. Believe I'm not all. I, mean, had I known she adopted some Haitian kids. I would've put all my money on for the pick. No no way you gotta do your research when you're making these bets. A brilliant legal mind and a working mom it's going to be very tough and she's been confirmed before during the trump administration. So very tough for the Senate to do anything here. A friendly reminder, the affordable care act the flagship item on the by in Harris ticket is up for review in the Supreme Court on November tenth. A lot of people are saying that's why the rush is on for this with be on the court, the mandate to carry private health insurance is almost certainly going to be deemed unconstitutional while it's less clear if there's any actual threat to overturning roe versus Wade as even ACB has said in the past that quote unquote the fundamental element that the woman has a right to choose abortion will probably stand. So that's in her own words. So, that that's the Supreme Court update. Nice she's good. Good job will all right guys. Well, it's. that. Time of the year where celebrity start telling you what to do and who to vote for like, Hey, pay nine, hundred, ninety, nine for my new shitty streaming movie and stop eating meat. You know don't drive don't use gas in that type of Shit I will normally no one cares about what celebrity endorsers who or what but on Sunday a big one came out and made an endorsement and I mean literal Big One Dwayne the Rock Johnson fresh off bench pressing coronavirus out of his lungs endorsed. Yeah but it doesn't matter. Exactly. June rony coronas what an idiot corona was trying to fuck with Iraq like the idiot. That was the one bad move cronin twenty twenty was trying to enter the rock. But he endorsed Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in his first ever public political endorsement and you know that's one that stinks trump. He's probably like what do you mean the Rock Indoors Biden? Are you saying he's got no head screwed onto those magnificent shoulders. I don't believe it. It, get it. On the phone. A He's a humongous guy. We need. We need guys can win big humongous guys get him on the phone. Anybody, for the WWe stable is burning his burn up, hurt the rock the rock looks like I saw the video of him on on twitter. He looks like he's wearing a costume he's so ridiculous. Certainly. So insane. Shrinks down over his absence. Works. Every specialty shirts but have you seen his back back? Muscles are like big anyone's front muscles just crazy. The Rack said he tried to keep everyone happy because you know he's a mega movie star Republicans buy sneakers. So he tried to say things like I have friends on all sides of the political spectrum me and he's like I also usually don't do this but then he came out and said as a registered independent for years now with centrist ideologies. So he tried to play down the middle stone. He goes I do feel that Vice President Biden and Senator Harris are the best choice to lead our country and I am endorsing them to become president and vice president. He any like released a zoom call of him and Biden. Harris. chatting because when when the rock says, he's going to endorse you you hop on a fucking zoom like lickety-split. Them as Yakking it up So my guess after this is. Jumanji three going to be picket or boycotted by the right. So canceled cancelling the rock is like the new thing. Here's some totally. Him At. The box office. Now. He's the biggest movie star. Take noise movies are going to do well in China regardless. So there you go taking to twitter Bryan cloudy says, these endorsements are getting more desperate by the minute I had to Google Dwayne. Johnson and. Trolling Okay Brian. It is. Then, leaving I liked this when he did, he did a mean. So explain it to you I don't know if we're getting the video or not, but it goes can you smell in the back? It's just a picture Joe Biden, smelling a bunch of women's hair because. Can you smell. That's pretty good. Awesome. All right. "Her core lady. Best friend from the nineties who she said. She had spoken to nineteen ninety-three about this and I called her and her year ago and she told me a very similar story. The story which was not about sexual misconduct and she actually said to me. I went back through my notes year ago and I had remembered her saying something to me and I went back and I looked at it and I called. I called her up and I said you know to me. Joe Biden never tried to kiss her at Joe Biden. Never tried to touch her. In that way. In a way that crossed the line it was always kind of. Oh did you take it that way a little bit? And she said that what she found was that Biden did that kind of stuff which we all know he has done on camera and that type of behavior and I personally think that is appropriate at the dot was the variety. She was talking about and I asked her. Then the why would you stay? Why would you say exonerate Biden Biden? Why I understand leaving detail out. But why did you tell me? A story really led me to believe that you're Fr- these never happened to your friends. And how is a friend? That's a difficult. It's hard to imagine the friend to imagine telling a reporter. This powerful man did not do these things to my friend and that to me is very different than saying you know. I didn't WanNa tell a friend soul story and I really pushed her on. Hey, I have a suspicion go by, and we'll drop out of at the proper time and throw it support to Michelle bomb person woman, president and like the boot who wouldn't vote for that it would only mean for more years all Hussein. Obama. Okay. A couple of things this twenty four other people that would stand in his way. I mean, they're pouring their hearts and whatever money they have into it. So it's not just brightened against Trump. Number two is, I think Biden mic drop out because I don't know if he has I don't know if it has the bounciness step. I think he's all I age. I think number two is clearly, they are pacing him already keeping them out of a busy schedule. I mean the announced and then took ten days off. So what he says, and how we talks about his career doesn't really talk about his career doesn't talk about what's going on in the mistakes, he made or the things that you'd like to have back or do over. And I'm just amazed you give that story yesterday, and I went over where he evidently was saying that he marched with Martin Luther King for civil rights in the sixties, and he didn't his staff told him to stop saying in nineteen eighty eight he kept saying it, and then later goes, yeah, I do a lot of dump things. Well, that second to make me feel great to vote for you. I do a lot of dumb things is under. Things. I don't wanna hear my president say and the Hyde amendment. The Hyde amendment basically, says, not using federal funds for abortions, he's as we have to get rid of that. No, he doesn't. He's basically pro-life and we talked to not pro pro choice, but not he has no problem with the Hyde amendment. Bottom line Mollie Hemingway weighed in and said, you know, where's he going with this cut fifteen you're saying these debates now about whether people should be forced to pay for things against their will against their conscience to fund violence in the womb or whether medical practitioners should be forced to violate their conscience by participating in abortions. And this is where the debate is, and the Democratic Party, which is really surprising because just decades ago. The Democratic Party was a home for pro-lifers and even not that long ago you would hear Democrats say that they support abortion, but they know it's a problem and they would like it to be rare. And now you have a situation where someone who simply thinks that people shouldn't be forced to pay for violence in the womb is, you know, that's, that's the new radical. Position for for securing the democratic primary, it is a challenge for them. Well, it is going to be a challenge in less. Most Democrats are rational and they're being misled by the twenty three other candidates. Now you heard we have one of these democratic strategist says listen, judge, I talked to Biden's people, and he's actually thinking about the general and he's not even thinking about the other primary, I think you're insane to do that. One of the best things down. Trump did is take a big lead and think, and feel as though he could lose it a time, and he wouldn't have to Jeb Bush relentlessly even always stayed in single digits. He went after Marco Rubio relentlessly lying, Ted Cruz remember, never really losing much at all to anything never trailing overall popularity or in delegates when that started, but he would just be relentless pounding his opponents. Joe Biden wants to play the old-fashioned game. And just ignores opponents for the others. They'll do anything, it's going to be a matter of time and not much more time before he starts getting attacked Elizabeth Warren's moving up the ratings. She. Here's what she said yesterday. Detroit Michigan cut seventeen the Americas faced huge challenges the four World War to put a man on the move. This environmental catastrophe bearing down on us. Maybe the biggest challenge yet. Well, what you can do about it. That's okay. Spend a lot of money tax rich people, and chief, does believe it's a catastrophe. They've governor of Washington believes it's a catastrophe. Joe Biden came out and had a really. Aggressive green deal took a lot of it hijacked. A lot of the verbiage, not good for a known plagiarize her. But if he wanted to win Texas, he better hope they don't read that plan because he wanted to basically destroy gas are of you heard, but they tend to like oil and gas there. So Joe Biden is moving up the one of the person that I think that is worthy to point out is Buddha, judge because he seems to be unpredictably taking his time on the jury. Here's what's formidable about Biden Biden's up by four points in Texas. Quinnipiac, poll and Brad past par scowl says, don't even worry about that in Michigan voters were asked to pick between Biden and Trump Trump loses right now precept Ashley by about twelve points. Remember he won there, but a CNN poll of all places said, do you believe Trump will be reelected? That was the question fifty four percent said they do believe that Donald Trump will be elected. Do you think President Trump will win the presidential election? Forty one percent said, no, he won't one eight six six eight seven six six nine. We'll take some calls coming up next. We're gonna look back at d day with a man that really appreciates our history, writes about it, and served in the country, for decades, Admiral James, Stavridis back with you in just a moment. "And. I don't know if I sent it to you, Jeff or not there was a rapper who he picked up an old song. He wrote one about Cossio Cortez, and he's a veteran, and and just Jack it was brand. And I it, and I actually just wrote Bryant and folded this guy's rat. It was awesome. And I sound like on the office donate. It was awesome. And all right. Let's go to shock in west Alice in very very patient. Hey, Chuck how you doing? You're on the Dan Conrad show. Happy Sunday to my friend, happy Cinco, two mile, happy think. Oh denial Dan Trump is to win, you know, with Cinco Demayo, I know allow Tinos that are leaving the Democratic Party of blacks. Good people color. They're leaving the democrat whole walkaway movement. I think is a real phenomenon I really do. And and you know, how many generations, and how many decades of folks going to be told what to do what you can achieve what you cannot achieve can achieve and you can only have so much America suck yo and you just nothing. But by the way, just because I got my average education. I'm gonna be on the pundit on all the talk shows, but you can't achieve anything in America sucks. But I'll be your Representative. I'll speak for you. Because you can't do anything, and you're just incapable and. I'll be the the paternal politician who wipe your rear end, and you can't even speak. I know you can't even talk. So don't worry about it. Just stay there. And and say on your stay in your in your in your little box. They're not allowed to leave and you don't want. Go ahead, Dan, you know, what the anti-semitism anti-christianity hall in schools cross state to come out in Wisconsin. And for Trump because of all the anti semitism and anti Christianity. Well, Chuck, I appreciate the call today by a week. And I'll say this about the lot of people say all the time. And I like, I take it. All right. I'll explain it to you the best. I can. But a lot of people always ask the question. How come the Jewish people always vote for Democrats? Why do they always always vote for the Democrats back when? A lot of refugees arrived here in the United States. And they were very very active in the democrat party Democratic Party right out of the box. People forget during the civil rights movement. It was the it was the northeast Jewish American that really went down south got people registered to vote there were condemning thinkers, and they always root for the underdog for obvious reasons. And I never really had a problem with the dedication of my Jewish friends to the democrat party because it made sense to me, and I grew up with these kids, and they're my friends and. It's just it's it's hard to explain. But I understand it. And it's I get it. And I just wish they would leave. Anyway, because I it's I want them to be safe. I want them to be free. You have a young man who of shooter came into a university of North Carolina the other day, and he was a member of ROTC. And I got us forget his name. I'm sorry, but he should be celebrated should all know his name. But yet, we don't that's a problem. But you know, it is it is the person who says I don't care what color. What religion what belief? You are. I want to look out for you. I wanna make sure that nobody abuses. You for outrageous reasons, like if somebody shows up with the Tiki torch says Jews, not replace us. I would like to know the foundation of that organization. I would like to know where they get together. What they meet at who they are. But that's never been devoted to me from Charlotte. Charlottesville. And again, I always have a suspicious. I hear is Jade is a little bit. Sure it is. But I understand my Jewish friends have just for years of supported the democrat party. They've always root for the underdog in the civil rights movement has really been ground zero for a lot of Jewish folks wanting to help out minorities in the country gets better place, economically, politically, and society. They just I get it. I understand it. But I think it's time they take it. The breathtaking take the breath and say, hey, listen, you know, what's up with the other side of the aisle here. And I got my buddy here who's enjoying retirement to just said high on Facebook as well. Getting hope you're really love. And appreciate that. I don't guys and gals. Get out of the job. You know, six months like, this is awesome. You know to me the great freedom was calling a debate debate. When they needed to call to debate. No, my friend your nail that was the best part about retirement. But then you take the Beth realize like all, right. You know, what do I do next? And you get restless and a lot of people get uncomfortable with retirement. So anybody out there is joining it. Good for you. I like that. But again, I I'm concerned about everybody who thinks that Chuck I understand where he's coming from. But the fact is I don't think twenty twenty is going to be a slam dunk. Let's say Joe Biden. And Kamala Harris on a way up. She was kind of stagnant there for a while. But now, she's her numbers are picking up. This is going to go up and down for the next eighteen months. This is going to happen. Do I see a pure front runner, here know, Joe Biden Biden's, not the guy, but his number stay up, and he does well during the debates, and it is my prediction. He will not do. Well, join the debates let's say he's the guy at the end of the day. Let's say he takes on Kamala. Harris, I think that's a formidable ticket because a lot of the vote that that's going to really make it self obvious and really make it so public. It's going to be an anti Trump vote. This going to be nothing involved about the Democrats. You wanna be communist fine. You wanna be socialist fine. I just wanna vote against this guy. Donald trump. And if you go back to sixteen what would it be fair to say that Donald Trump was beatable? Would it be fair to say that when I started out my coverage that night at WNBA Madison with my buddy, Sean Prebble from Waukesha. It's. O'reilly howell. Thank you very much. Chris who's listening on iheartradio? She is in walk area, though Riley. How it was the man from the university of North Carolina. Put his self in harm's way, lost his life saving people. That's what we should know. That's a we should celebrate righty. How Riley Howell? Is an 2016 Hillary Clinton would be safe to say that we all look at each other ingredients. She should have beat them. Especially what the TMZ I'm sorry access Hollywood tape all the other surprises all the accusations that came out rapid fire against not from women which most of which were blown out of the water, by the way. And people are asking me to impeach the president on that. He didn't conduct this president and say, yeah, is it deputy dry support. Nope. But who's your democrat because you left-wing psychotics out there, and you communist socialist out there? You're not gonna win that that platforms not gonna win. Newsflash. You get to walk around your, mommy, daddy, patriot college. So you can walk around not go to class and be a bunch of D bag so attack Trump supporters and be angry destructive morons who decide that they're going to break a window rather than here at conservative speaker of talk and share some ideas, you can you can no longer exchange ideas, that's gone. You can no longer sit down and have a civil conversation. You're incapable of doing that. Now, you scream and jump up and down and Tara people signs and knock off their maga- hats, and I said, and I said months before the two thousand sixteen election. Congratulations left-wing morons, you just generated another ten thousand Trump supporters guess turned out to be right election night. Dan, Conroy did. Every time. I saw that woman attacked at a commercial building by doorway having tomato started her having her clothing ripped and grabbed. Guess what morons? That's another half million Trump supporters. You just created. Did you take a look at Green Bay the other day? Then then you take a look at Joe Biden. We have literally almost seeks on people. Here's a guy who was the vice president to a very popular President, Barack Obama. And I think Mr Obama was very very quite bring it in his application while he was in office, low profile don't say too much get out there and be cool. That's what he did. And let us minions to all the radical stuff and those men's by the way are going to be exposed over the next few months. And I do believe the buck stops with Mr. Obama's. It's going to be some pretty outrageous stuff over here, and the more I delve into this in the more people that I get to speak to and it's a privilege to speak to some of these people. There's going to be some shock and oil. Then when somebody's reports come out, I e a Horowitz standby for that. But I don't believe Mr..

"For an annual membership. You get you get the Andrew claybin show. You get the bench Shapiro show. It has questions in the mail bag. You get them at wal show. Get your mailbag questions in that is coming up tomorrow. I believe is it Wednesday already. Gosh, the time just flies when you're having fun. When you're drinking FA, you will also get the leftist. Here's tumbler, this is what you need. Oh, the me too boomerang swings back, and it's knocking down the Democrats best candidate for the general election. Ha ha ha get the tumbler we'll be right back with a lot more. Politics makes strange bedfellows. As we speak about modern love and apt phrase. I'm now defending Joe Biden, and I'm agreeing with Whoopi Goldberg who is summing up the situation pretty well Biden. Biden responded that in all his years on the campaign trail never believe, he's acted inappropriately. So he'll listen respectfully to ploys, but it was never his intention. Now. Should she have spoken to him about this before she went on television about it or I mean is it it, you know, listen in the old days we call Joe. Some folks of a certain age would say he's a little overly familiar, but most politicians when they're you know, doing this with you, and they are and Joe is Joe is a hands on kinda guy. Yeah. He has no one. I've never heard anyone. And she says she felt violated, and I have to take her out of work, but it would have been nice if she had turned him and say, you know, what Jay I'll really like this to please don't do this or not vice president. I'm not really comfortable with something because he's standing right there, though, it's hard to say to somebody who's somebody touches, you inappropriately. Exactly, right. Whoopi. Whoopi is exactly right. Joy Behar's exactly wrong because listen to that disagreement. There Whoopi says, you know, if this woman is going to wait, however, many years and come out and say when Joe Biden put his hands on my shoulders it made me uncomfortable. Therefore, he's basically a rapist. It might have been nice to say in the moment. Hey, Mr Vice-President, please don't touch me. And then I'm sure he would have said, okay. Honey. I love you vote for me vote for me. Okay. And it would have been fine. It would have been nice to just say it. You know, you're an adult. You're a person you're not just a delicate little flower all the time, right? Isn't this is such an irony with the feminist movement? We're told women are strong women are capable women are are just as rational indirect as men, and then we're told oh, I could never sell tell someone my feelings. So I could never know. I could never express my opinion. You know, please save me. Save me Bernie ten years later, or whatever she says, just go and just say, hey. Oh, man. Please don't do that. That's how a Dulce deal with things. And what is joy Behar horsing? His that's so hard to do that. So hard to say and Whoopi doesn't let her get away with it. What he says? No, it's not it's not to say. Hey, look, I got a mouth. I got vocal chords. I have a brain. I can turn my body to face him and say, hey, please don't do that. It's not hard. It's very easy. The professional victim grabbed wants to pretend that you all you could never say that how can you expect a rational human being to talk? How could you you couldn't expect that? But what he's right now. There are two more women coming out of the closet. Caitlyn Caruso former college student said that at an event Mr. Joe Biden, put his hand on her thigh. And then she squirmed a little to show her discomfort buddy hugged her just a little too long. This was at the university of Nevada Las Vegas..

"Ninety four one FM six twenty two twenty four degrees. Clouds, downtown's. Colorado's morning news. Where did he know President Trump will work on a reelection bid for twenty twenty? But who will he face in that race? The data says the democratic primary field will be crowded. Jeffrey, silky is the elections analyst at the data website, fivethirtyeight dot com. Here's what he had to say about potential front runner. Former VP Joe Biden Biden, obviously is very well known. He knows pretty much everybody in the Democratic Party. He pulls well in the national polls, obviously it's very early. But it's a really crowded field. Maybe being Joe Biden would be a real benefit in terms of sort of breaking through and leading the pack. What about the future of Senator Bernie Sanders says it's not very promising? People who supported Bernie Sanders because they wanted an alternative to Hillary Clinton aren't necessarily going to support him. Again. I think we're seeing him, you know, in the national polls getting around ten eleven percent. You know, something like that. But it's not like he's twenty thirty percent. I think even some of the New Hampshire polling the little. There's spend Biden is lead there and not Sanders, even though he's from next door. And he obviously won the primary last time around a new name that could join the list of democratic presidential hopefuls is California Senator Kaba Harris ABC news, political director reclined breaks down her potential campaign. I feel like she's at the sweet spot of a whole lot of different trends that are going on inside the Democratic Party. She's a woman, obviously, she's a Senator thinks she came to some prominence during the cavenaugh hearings. She's an African American, and I think most importantly at this. She's new to the political scene. Most of the country has seen it before. And I think Democrats even though the polls will show that people like Joe, Biden and Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders, our top the polls, that's because the name recognition we've seen in the past that Democrats alike to fall in love, and they like to see someone new and fresh to the scene, and I think that person's camel Harris, so far there has been no official campaign announcement from the democratic side hover as ABC political direct recline explains. They all have to answer one crucial question. Can they be Trump? That's the biggest thing you can talk about all the other dynamics is this person electable is it possible to win. I think everything else sort of flows from that at this moment. And I think navigating what is likely to be a very crowded primary field. It's impossible to game plan in terms of I think different lanes of moderate or liberal or progressive age gender, all of those things can can cut in different ways. I think someone's going to need to catch fire. And I think the overriding issue is going to be is this person positioned to lead the party. In a way that wins. That's ABC news, political director recline. We're also hearing about today. Anyway, Georgia's Senate candidate Stacey Abrams possibly running in two thousand twenty and former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg. And better aerobics name has been floated as well. We're talk of governor Hickenlooper. Yeah. Well, I hear from other people I made here from reclined. But I've heard it from other people on a variety of shows. You got a pack underway this year. We'll see if that ramps up now in the new year when he's out of office. Six twenty-five hansonmcclain advisors.
