"And then to have a lot of our other historical statues be deemed Racist and get ripped down. And then the in the span of a year, we've learned that the Fourth of July is a celebration of white supremacy. As his Mount Rushmore. Now that's just not even you're not even touching on covert yet. Yeah. I would have gotten really, really drunk and said, I found a cryogenic freezer unit and just said Stick me in it and thaw me out in 2022. Who knows what, what it's gonna look like Then we all kind of, I think, think and hope that things were going to chill and mellow out a little bit here. So Capitol University has decided to jump on the Socially correct bandwagon, and then they're gonna change their name from the capital Crusaders too. Well, I guess it has yet to be determined. They? Ah! Came to this after some some time they let me get to the sentence here. The university's board of trustees approved the resolution to change the nickname and mascot. Following a 15 month process of study. Discussion. And reflection. You know if there's been reflection But this is this is heartfelt. Well, we're going to we're going to change the world because we've somebody called me earlier in the show or during Blazers show and said that They have relatives in their eighties that when I graduated from capital and when they were students 60 years ago This discussion was being had For real. That's what they're claiming. Yes, and that Okay, because it's in Bexley. And I was under the impression the crews and I'm not saying this person's wrong But I gotta do some more research on this, You know, figure these claims out, but that The Crusaders were killing anyone who wasn't Christian, including Jews. So they were killing Jews and Muslims to defend Europe. And since it's in the heart of Bexley, it's been considered insensitive due to the high Jewish population in Bexley. Alright, so if there's any married to that I'd love to have something to tell me otherwise. Okay, well, let's just say there is, let's just roll with it. That that is one definition of a crusader. It's It's not the be all end all definition. Of a crusader crusader is also a person who campaigns vigorously for political, social or religious change. So you wanna marry it up to the crusades and and say, you know what, Like I said, I'll grant you that. Let's just say that that was going on 60 years ago. But even then, don't you believe that it was ah, very small, finite amount of people that maybe would have been pursuing this. Yeah, and what it says Here is in recent years, our nickname has been challenged by students and faculty. Faculty. Probably academia. Sure, students. I don't know why. Why do you go to a university? If you're offended? Why do you go to a private university? If it offends you? And it says the detailed study found a significant portion of the capital family shares this perspective. I don't buy that. I really I just think that's ah load right there, and they can say that there's no way I'll ever be able to disprove it. Have there been people complaining? Sure, There's always something that somebody that complains about everything. Has been an overwhelming majority of people. Cause it says the detailed study found a significant portion of it doesn't say majority. I don't again. What? What? How do you define significant? Is that 10 people is that 100 people is that thousands of people over the years A significant portion of the capital family shares this perspective, I don't buy it. Isn't that like saying when 1300 people. On Twitter tag something and say it's horrible. Well, Twitter says the majority of people on Twitter know that you're you're doing a sample of 1300 people out of money. Hundreds of millions. Well, okay. This radio show, for example. You know if I have four listeners, and if I do I appreciate that. I feel lucky and if it jumps up to eight And then I go Look at how much percentage wise this is Hugh..

HOW TO SELL INTO LARGE ACCOUNT AND WIN BIG DEALS

"He josh. Welcome to the show was way of getting started. Tell us about yourself a Brian. Yeah thanks for having me. I'm Josh Bilo. I've been in the technology and software industry for about twenty six years so you could tell by some of the grays I'm currently with a company called red point global and have been there about a year a half now any stress and sales. I've noticed that pressure in correlation. Yeah Yeah I think. There's a lot of stress sales absolutely. I think it's really managing the stress that I've found his Has Been working tons of stress. And how'd you get into? Sales was the natural progression with a psychology degree. Or it was. It was kind of an interesting story because I'm a psychologist every day. believe me. I got into sales Bexley. My grandfather always said Who passed away. Many many years ago he was an insurance salesperson the south side of Chicago or and he would say check go into sales not psychology best way to earn a living sales sales sales sales and after being beat over the head. Several Times I went into sales. Never look back man never looked at and what you like about it when you first started you know what I really liked is especially early on. When I was young I would be able to go into these meetings and just really learn a lot of accompanies. I think it was really curiosity about going to a different company. Time being different. Is this problem and it just kind of fun as opposed to a job so you had an interest in business or you had an interested in making money or well you know. It's Funny Bolts I. It's gotta change over time but I think more interest in business and making money I think the business aspect of it was fascinating it was like getting an MBA and Evans. Somebody pay for it And the making money was was great. you know if you don't make money off selling into the company naturally or was it a painful process or the natural? The natural selling capabilities was Could take back the natural by. I think it was more. The challenge was it came. It was difficult to adjust to process. I really in having a process. Early on I was more what they used to call. You know Piss and vinegar right must've energy energy. I even have a really good story about it. I I could tell you if you want. What share but it was really energy I was out there just really showing and telling as opposed to listening at the time and that does create a lot of beginners lock in sales just the sheer passion and enthusiasm and the the energy level did that dissipate after a while or did you have to find what you were working really hard and not closing deals. Yeah I think the working really hard and not closing deals. Can you talk about stress at sales and because very stressful? Because you really find. It's kind of dumb luck initially because you're working really hard you're passionate and you're like why don't they like me? You know it was all about me and that was eventually it changed. It had to. Yeah because I I see a lot of young. I was probably one of them. That you have that enthusiasm and you and you think just because you had a great meeting where people were living off your energy and I saw the possibility and they looked like they were gonNA take the next step but then it just never goes anywhere. Was that something you experience. Many many times you know. And that's That's why we say something. Wentz told me you gotta get the grades before he could really get started selling a lot. You know. It wasn't just gray. Hair was powdered of really understanding. Hey has got to be a different approach hip because I see you always putting you know this type of sales person is the best type or this approach is the best approach and he. Now I go. I don't think it's just one little thing I think. The strongest correlation is years of experience. Gray hair the the wrinkles the social issues that really have people learn the hard part because it is since it so long. It's not a single call like selling a car. It you know. There's so many meetings so many variables so many things that can go wrong or stall a deal that you have to have seen these things and then you have to internalize them and care about them. Yeah Yeah and that's that's it right internalizing and caring about him. You know Out just a quick story on that is as with a company called platinum technology big company here in Chicago for many years and when they got acquired by a company called computer associates. As like. Now what so I went on all these interviews. I interviewed with a guy and he did a great job great presentation. I really appreciate it. I can't hire you. I said what do you mean? I thought I did a great job. Representatives you understand Michael Jordan. He takes free throws he took shots that over and over again. He's done it though because I have to hire somebody a little more season. You just haven't done it enough you know. I was a little discouraged because I've sold stuff so it's very similar and that's it is also a lot of people get into a big brand company at the right time they kind of associated them and not the brand and sometimes it's down. Yeah a lot of times the break. Yeah Yeah Yeah. I've seen a lot of that as well right. You know. I've been with small companies large companies across the board and non with a mid sized company. That's doing well but you know you and I think it's interesting because I think things have have changed because it's not about the brands anymore. You know it's not about the huge companies. It's about that salesperson. Be Able to effectively. Move along something as well as being trusted. I think trust is so important today. And how do you create that or build it? Yeah part of those are the grey hairs. It's partly because you know I've been doing what I've been doing for a while that I'm able to understand the customer. This goes back the psychology of selling right. You know. Be able to understand them and Really really internalizing and being serious. That's the way you're in the trust and then being able to deliver something to them in to share with them. Hey I could help you with this. We can help you with us. And here's how we've done it and I've done it in the past and I think that just takes experience and you always curious. Curious guy and acquisitive person always curious. Curiosity was was one of my greatest assets in selling because I always wanted to know and that piss and vinegar that excitement people I I have to tell people. Don't take it the wrong way. Because I'm actually really sweat you do for a living. And once you've had a breakthrough that and it's not really. It doesn't from selling anymore. It's just learning verson anniversary. And Yeah that's another thing conversing right because most people forget to converse just people having a conversation most people just want to talk right because you really can't come up with good questions unless you are curious right. That's why this whole thing with the elevator. Pitch is kind of funny because people always ask me to go. So what's your elevator pitch and say? What do you want to accomplish? I got this. I can take it any different way. You want to go but I'm GonNa tell you this whole story. It's really the elevator pitches about how we can help three different ways of things that you might have an issue.

"And the big story with troll rightly on six ten six thirty seven it is we are twenty three from seven o'clock Monday morning March the twenty third at Joe Riley our little family are little cast of characters here but is healthy we're moving forward producer Tom get her done having trouble shopping in his neighborhood over the Bexley area so now he's coming over to the crippling Grandview which seems to be pretty well stocked and my wife and I will even though we haven't had any trouble finding things that we need in one at the grocery so that's a plus Johnny's working Scott's working Matt's working I'm working we're doing our best to keep our distance to six feet is the magic number so we're really not spend any time in the same room but we've got microphones all over the place here so we're able to get our jobs done should you listen this morning things are a little bit tense for a lot of people I I feel like you know because he all the flatten the curve stuff and all that it seems like a high is doing a really good job of that you know eight hundred or so cases of the corona virus three deaths in the state things like that I worry more about people's mental health it's kind of hard I mentioned earlier you know my folks came by for a visit over the weekend and literally came in the house wouldn't sit down really there for like five minutes and they're just they're just nervous I'm like look we're all healthy we're all fine nobody has any sit but they just they just couldn't relax enough to sit down and have a visit and I think that's where a lot of people are in the eads I I mean I get it but it's just different from what you're used to so it's easy to tell when you have those quiet times if you're by yourself maybe you're in the car you're at home and whatever your brain kind of sometimes runs wild like what if this never breaks what if this is the way it is and all that is like you gotta you gotta stop with that and you gotta really I mean do yourself a favor and get on Facebook and on Twitter Instagram whatever did you use and look for the good stories but one of the ones I read over the weekend was fascinating to me the story is they did the cosco guys in line at the checkout there's a couple in their seventies in front of him they get to pay running through all the stuff and the cashier says did you find everything you want it and the elderly lady says actually no we needed some bread we couldn't find it well behind the guy who wrote the story was a gun is twenty just piped up and said I got bread if you need it take it and if there's anything else in my cart take it I want you to have it I'm fine and and these are the kinds of things that are happening and it's easy to get caught up in the worry and the concern and it's like you know my kids taking remote classes and I'm working from home and it's not the same and I don't like it and I can't go anywhere and the government wants me to stay home and it's easy just to compartmentalize and get all caught not bubble but if you allow yourself to look and try to find the silver lining and I know it's hard I know it's hard but if you just look around you can find it there are people being cool and get along and making a difference and being positive like you know we're working with them in Ohio food bank and you know maybe you're in a position where you don't need their services and god bless you but there are people that do and you know kids are used to getting their food at school and they can't get it because I'm not going to school in those kind of things so the mid Ohio food bank is actually having to step up and there's a lot more requests out of them so we're encouraging you if you can make a donation the number is a dollar donated is equivalent to nine dollars in groceries in the subsidies no I don't know what the magic that they can do that I'm not sure how that happens but they get a lot of donations a lot of great people that album so you're bucking bulls nine that's huge so if you can make a donation it's a simple WTVM dot com slash donate N'Golo walkie right you're not mention this really gonna do this real quick lot of people working on the computer now right kids taking classes remotely people working from home using the computer Dr Diane mad fees says digital screens can take a toll on your skin you're working from home you're probably are taking fewer breaks compared to when you're in the office a doctor says extended exposure over time the blue light from devices computer screen phone can increase the production of reactive oxygen species known as free radicals stress on the skin plays a major role in the aging process okay so to curb the issue should apply moisturizers and S. "Radio six ten WTVN Glazer show, a couple of minutes ago talking about GOP lawmakers here. No, high are trying to stop local plastic bag bans taxes, and they are attempting to adopt statewide uniformity for auxiliary containers in a way to protect against over-regulation support manufacturing jobs up, hold consumer freedom and all of that stuff. And Jeff has been on hold Jeff. Thank you, very much for calling in what you got for me, brother. Hey, no problem. First of all, I'm against the law because. Direct interaction with interstate commerce government should stay out of it. However, the loser's gonna be the businesses and right. Because if you look down there, the future items, they wanna ban as part of that ordinance as a year years. Go by includes plastic silverware. So what's the company going to do? They'll be no more take-out meals, a with they can't send metal civil where if they use plastic civil, we're now they'd have to switch over to metal install dishwashing equipment to keep it clean for health standards excetera, all been into doing is putting those companies. On their way home from work say in Westerville or plastic bags anyway. I mean those are some good points in. Yeah. That point. Yeah. You're right. The, the businesses go look, we can give you takeout. But we don't have any, we don't have any service to give no silver where or you eat here. But you're right. They can't just give them medal silverware or whatever, or you know, utensils I, I, I don't know what the answer is. But you're I think you're dead on. You say eventually, the losers are going to be those businesses in Bexley, and boy will this backfire, if they all bail, right? I mean, if they leave that city then it's like, well have fun with your band. And then now you've got nobody there. Thank equate to the soda taxes in the county's out west where they jacked up the price on the Pepsi in the co. Day was have people drive across line to the next year sticks didn't have the tax and they still the same amount of product, the only person where the business is local. He didn't sell any of it. Yeah. Some, some good points man. Jeff, thank you for, for way on this. You're listening man. Thanks..
