"Same today? And if the Bills ask Josh Allen to carry the offense again today, which they've asked him all season long to do Are they facing down the barrel of a gun? Major trouble because it's one thing to outdoor Lamar Jackson. It's another to outduel Patrick Mahomes. Here's Constituents Today in the A F C championship game. Josh firing deep down near the end zone looking for thinks he's got it. Touchdown. Touchdown Buffalo. There's step on gigs at 35 Yard Hook up with Josh Bevin touchdown bills playing a few big games and as we go on here, every game's big in the last one in No, it's a still still the same game of football and we don't need to reinvent anything on our offense. We've got to go up there and try to execute a game plan and try to get the best versions of ourselves. They could be That's Josh Allen previous to that that was the Bills radio Network on the call again in both of these postseason wins by the Bills, they really didn't commit to running the football as well in either. That includes against the Colts, where they randomly 21 times for 96 yards. But 54 of those more than half of the yardage came from Josh Allen on the ground, I think today It's a dubious prospect. If you're gonna try to put Josh Alan out there against Patrick Mahomes Throw for throw. Let's just assume that Mahomes is healthy and ready to go today. All signs point to that. You're not going to win a match up. Where Josh Allen, in my estimation on the road can out duel Patrick the home, So I think the bills have to have some type of ground game. Now. Maybe that includes a healthy dose of Josh Alan doing it on the ground. He obviously is mobile. He obviously could run the football as a mentioned before he covered 54 yards worth of of yards on the ground in the in the wild card game against the Colts. I think that's the way the bills have to approach this offensively. Obviously, you need stops that comes from your defense and the bills. Defense has a huge task in front of it. But Buffalo has ignored the run multiple times this year and said Josh, take us to the promised land Well. Look, Josh has done an amazing job taking major step forward this year significant step forward and now we know you can win and win big with Alan. But.

And he wins the governorship. Yeah. I mean, we didn't actively do anything. I can tell you the funny thing about McConnell. This is probably more candor than your tonight and I should talk about what? He gets over things a lot easier than I do on the operative level. I mean the day and that was most elected officials that have been around a while. You have to. Yeah, I mean, the day after the election, it was sort of water under the bridge. And then once Bevin was elected, he was He saw it as a Republican, you know, wider than that McConnell was first elected a place from the Republican Party basically didn't exist in Kentucky, and he has let's move further to his right. My former life is a Christian and a pasture and now looking at a fatal disease with the As as an atheist and talking about dying out loud and living out loud and living your moments and so it's become a thing we've got all the stuff that we're doing and right now it's been put on hold except for these kind of things which I love this. This I was mentioning. I probably mentioned several times. I haven't touched another human being in Amman or more And it's you know being being in the house by Myself. Granted a friend of mine's living situation deteriorated and Sushi's moving into the guest room. Even though wing avoid each other but it could be maddening though. I don't know that I've ever been that I've ever spent this much time truly alone. There were periods of time where I was seemingly alone but I'd have like a roommate and or somebody that I would at least be able to interact with and it was. It was kind of a self imposed thing where I just home at this time. It's different and it's been rough but what's been I'll go ahead and say a godsend just so that somebody can cut that clip out. Later is the fact that we have technology so that I can do video chats with people that I love had people who I miss And I can also stream games on twitch and have a whole bunch of people show up and have conversations and interactions like that so most of the time it doesn't. You'll like that sort of crippling loneliness that I expected or that I even sometimes imagine of all the times in history for something. Go down while it's got to be the best time in history for something like that. Go down because more people are going to have more access. We get information quicker. We can you know. Find out how. What's the how the viruses progressing? Are we making a dent in lowering the curve and our hospitals being overrun know? What's the status on a potential vaccine or antibody test? We have quicker access to information and the ability to share it with more people and ability to interact. Even if we can't be literally face to face like I can't. I'd love to give you a hug dave and I can't and yeah. It's been hard on me in that sense too because a people person I'm very I get energy off interacting with people. I'm very much an extrovert And so having to adjust to just being away from people I mean I've been I've been with Bevin and we've been together and that's been great. I. I don't know how bad it would have been just to be completely alone But yet not being able to do the the The meetings in person and interact with the people and feed from the crowd. I the last one I did was early. March in Nashville. Actually my hometown but where I used to live But I had hard time adjusting to this because an indus going to be honest in a little bit vulnerable here this was a sucker punch for me because of what I feel like. I have a limited window of opportunity to do these things to travel and to be in person at events around the country and around the world and I was very much looking forward to not only the events but to seeing beautiful places because that was a big part of my bucket list. When I got this diagnosis a year ago was to see as much of the world as I could and to have a good chunk of the rest of my life cut away from that was You know at first. I thought oh I'm handling this pretty well then. I realized that my frustrations and anger even was boiling out in in it affected. It affects the people around you when you do that. And I was really not being my best self and I was really a came to the realization this past week or so that I was really disappointed in in in the quality of my reaction to this. You know I I I was. I would hope that I would have handled it better than I have. And learning more about myself. And and I'm I'm you know. I'm I'm a believer in in improving as a person until until I'm done I want to be the best version of myself the last week. I'm alive you know what I'm saying so I I just wanted to react to this better. So what would dave do? Don't do what. Would Dave do in this scenario because Dave didn't do too well and it's funny I mean we're not in identical situations? I mean I I have. I have no clue I could. I could die tomorrow. I could die the day before you the day after or decades later but this process of self discovery learning things. I love listening to people who are going through that and recognizing that. Hey a when I had when this occurred and I had this reaction it felt warranted and just at the time it felt like I was being wronged and now in hindsight when I look back maybe my my reaction wasn't particularly healthy for me or my Roomie. Chips or whatever. I done that many many times. And and it's you know. Sometimes you get better sometimes get worse. Hopefully the trend overall is towards getting better and then the show that we grow that we that we learned something about ourselves. Self reflection is a great gift. If we if we quit reflecting ourselves we're going to quit growing and we just get stuck in in ways that are usually not going to be healthy and not going to be good for people around us and so I you know. An and when adverse circumstances come our way that's when we're tested and You know I was really invigorated by the things we were doing and to have all that shutdown was like I said it just a a real body blow for me and I. I didn't react to it as well as I would have hoped I would have

"The ousted Kentucky governor raises eyebrows and suspicion after pardoning hundreds of violent criminals this is the nine o'clock report I'm sandy Collins breaking now lawmakers in Kentucky are expressing outrage at a spree of pardons issued by former governor Matt Bevin Kentucky's Republican Senate president and others are asking state and federal officials to investigate the pardons including one for a convicted killer whose family held a fundraiser for Bevin last year after a group of democratic lawmakers called for an investigation into the pardons Senate president Robert Stivers released a statement saying quote the Senate Republican majority condemns Bevins actions as a travesty and perversion of justice adding that he supports the call for an investigation concerns were raised after it was reported that one of the men Bevin pardoned Patrick Baker had family that held a fundraiser for the former Republican bigger was convicted of reckless homicide in a home invasion I'm Haley

"Turns is GONNA turn out to be a huge part of the story. Also those dynamics that you're talking about in terms of the national national things at play or not at play great reporting von Hillier at NBC News. Political reporter at Andy Bashir headquarters in Kentucky. And we will be back with you later on. Thank you very very much. I want to reiterate that we have just had a call in in this race. NBC News is declaring that the apparent winner of the Kentucky Governor's race is the Democrat in the race. Andy Ashir upsetting Matt Bevin. The incumbent and Republican governor of Kentucky as Von Hilliard was just explaining their the thing to keep in mind about Kentucky is not just a red state a state that went for Donald Trump by thirty points president trump in Kentucky as recently as last night throwing the full weight of his presidency behind incumbent Republican Republican governor traumatic goven. Who appears today to have been ousted again? NBC DECLARING NBC Bashir. The Democrat to the apparent winner of the Kentucky. Governor's Race Steve Kornacki Kornacki. Let me go back to you. Tell us what else we have learned. Yes I mean. We were just kind of put the curator at the end of the sentence. We said we were waiting on those two counties. We showed you Grayson when it came in this is what finally a triggered the call. I believe Ballard the final outstanding county came in. You see Bevin wins that he wins it by about one thousand votes. That's up from two thousand fifteen but obviously nowhere near what he needed to turn this around again about a sixty two hundred vote margin here for Bashir Ivonne made some a couple key points there. He was going over one. I just want to emphasize because I think to me in addition to the high turnout. It's the story of the night. It's sort of an extension of the national story we have been telling we certainly saw this in two thousand eighteen in the midterm elections actions. Why the Democrats were able to get that Nikki and forty six? The suburbs the suburbs moving away from the Party of Donald Trump towards the Democratic Party. Yes that's a story story and Kentucky's well into story right here. These three counties in northern Kentucky see them Kinda jutting out right there those three counties actually make up about ten percent of the population. Listen to the State of Kentucky. What are they suburbs of suburbs of Cincinnati Cincinnati? Right across the river there. These are traditionally Republican areas and they swung farther than just about anything I saw on on the map tonight. Let me take you through these Boone County right here now. Bevin does win boone. County fifty six percent of the vote. This was the first sign tonight. That Bevan was in trouble because in a county honey this size in this traditionally Republican. He needs a big number. He got sixty six percent the last time Donald Trump. I think I can show you this. Donald Trump got sixty eight percent of the vote here in two twenty sixteen tonight down to fifty six percent there for Matt. Bevin in Boone County. Go next door to Kenton County. Ken Look at this Bevin. Didn't even win Kenton County. How big of a departure from what we're used to that? Here's the two thousand sixteen result. Trump got sixty percent of the vote. Here Bevin when he ran a couple years ago wasn't far behind that tonight he he didn't even win this county. And you go one more after Campbell county right next door again. A solid Bashir win. This was you can see trump by twenty five points in in two thousand sixteen and Bevan himself one this by double digits when he ran in two thousand fifteen so these are the biggest shifts we saw and not just big shifts in terms of the percentage is changing changing. Keep in mind. These are high population areas. And if you're losing that kind of ground if you're Matt Bevin and you're losing ground in a densely populated region that accounts for ten percent of the state schools. As far as anything else I can think of to tell you why that number turned out what it did again. NBC News Declaring. Andy the apparent winner here Steve. Let me just ask you stepping back back from the math on this a little bit. I think also raised an important question about the Senate Majority Leader Mitch. McConnell who of course from Kentucky who is facing probably one of the stronger challenges he's ever ever faced in his Senate career next year. Obviously every racist specific Andy Beshir's a specific candidate Matt Bevins' a specific incumbent and the wins in the country maybe blowing differently differently a year from tonight. Then they are tonight but do you think that it is fair to for people to start extrapolating from these results tonight to to think about what Mitch McConnell might be up against trying to hold onto his seat so I beat cautious. I mean if you're Mitch. McConnell you're not happy with what you're seeing tonight if you're Mitch McConnell and you look at some of the poll numbers we've all seen in terms of his standing in that at state right now and you think. Also of the Standing Devon had. He was the second least popular governor according to the morning console poll of fifty states. You look at what happened to him. And you're Mitch. McConnell you might be nervous is to the things that McConnell has going for him. I think you have to keep in mind number one. We'll be a presidential election year so donald trump on the ballot trump won this by thirty points. Last time we will see his presence on the ballot changes thing the other thing is if you go down ballot in Kentucky tonight the result is looking a little bit different more favorable to Republicans. So I think what you'll hear from McConnell. McConnell side is still a trump state you'll have trump on the ballot next year and there were specific problems with Bevan that made him one of the least popular governors of the country. That won't be the in effect next year and also McConnell running a federal race. US Senate versus running the state government in Frankfurt. Sometimes voters distinguish though so you still look at McConnell earliest say running in Kentucky. That's probably in better shape. He's probably more favored than underdog. But yeah you see results like that. Yeah and it's a state wide race. You'll nervous the nervous. I'd say. All Right Steve. I know we've got a lot more to cover over the course of the Nice. We keep watching results come in from Virginia Mississippi and other places. We'll be back with you. We're going to get in a quick break right now. Just because actually WANNA go back to Kentucky after the break again we are covering this breaking news developing political news. That's just fascinating. NBC News has declared the apparent winner. In the Kentucky. Governor's race is Democrat. Andy Bashir upsetting an ousting in public incumbent. Republican Governor Matt Bevin again. It's it's a very close race. You see the difference.

"I think there's a reason why Democrats right now are feeling a little bit better than Republicans about where this may be going. And Steve. When you talk about those dozen precincts outside of Brayson Ballard County that are yet to come in and those being largely Republican precincts just sort of enveloping the math here in terms of what you just said about the total number of votes? That would be seems to me like what you're saying about what you expect. Effect in Grayson and Ballard even in a good scenario for for Matt Bevin if even if they're cleaned up and those other dozen outstanding Republican heavy precincts wchs. He still wouldn't be Bashir sleep. Yeah it's it's tough to look at what's left and find a scenario. Where Bevan gets there but I think when you see absolutely no vote coming in and yet from either county? I think if you want to be sure about this from the standpoint certainly of NBC calling this race you just want to make sure that when the precincts don't start reporting there isn't some major major surprise something totally unforced being but yeah if you just extrapolate from everything we had Bevan. We'll get closer. He will eat into this but it's hard to see him overtaking the other thing we should notice when it gets this close everybody starts asking you within one percent. Here is they're going to be a recount Kentucky Law on this there's no automatic trigger for a recount any candidate losing candidate can request a recount. They have to go to court for it. They have to go to a judge for it and so if Bevan were to fall short and he decided he wanted voted to file some kind of a suit a judge decide if there was going to be a recount and Steve in terms of how these things ultimately get shook out. Is there anything that we should now. In terms of fighting over the the actual mechanics of voting election board politicization these sorts of having a potentially have an impact if this does become a knockdown on drag-out particularly if it becomes a court battle. They're ugly scenes like that and Kentucky. We should worry about. There's nothing that's jumped out today and again this would be if Bevin Bevin waterfall short. Let's say if he were to fall short. Decide to challenge this. It's unclear what the grounds would be that he would say. I haven't seen anything that would obviously jump out. Obviously lawyers are paid to come up the reasons in a in a close election a losing candidate certainly has the right to pursue whatever they want to pursue. But I haven't seen anything tonight that jumps out in that regard. This is extremely extremely high. Turnout turnout gubernatorial election. Really look at the numbers here. This is over one point. Four million with more to come put that in some perspective ends up one point. Four million give or take the last gubernatorial gubernatorial elections in Kentucky. Two Thousand Fifteen nine hundred seventy three thousand. Wow so in the two thousand sixteen presidential election one point nine million so you're right in in between presidential election sort of off year gubernatorial election. That's extremely high tournus. We've been seeing that across the state and if Bashir is is going to end up pulling this out and again we don't know still too close to call that will help with the Democratic Maxim that higher turnout almost always benefits a Democratic victory. And I can give you just a bit of News as you're asking me that question Grayson County County just almost entirely came in and you can see here Bevin ninety six percent in. Let's do the math. That's two thousand six hundred ninety eight yeah again we said fifteen. Fourteen gene was his margin in two thousand fifteen he gets up to twenty six ninety eight. Probably one precinct left here so he could probably get that up to twenty eight twenty nine hundred. You see what that did to the overall lead statewide seventy two forty nine right now. Seventy two forty nine a few more pre one more precinct will come out of Grayson. And then we'll get Ballard county where again. It was three hundred twenty two votes the last time and needing more than seven thousand right now is Bevan. So as all eyes are on Ballard County and watching that and for that last precinct. Thanks Steve. Let me just ask you. I've got you about Virginia tonight. Obviously Virginia always has off year elections. They're always seen as an interesting bellwether last year. They had a fascinating thing. It happened in terms of their state legislative races. What should we be watching for in Virginia? Or what are you expecting. I'm going to press this button and hope it works because we have a graphic there it is okay so the bottom. I'm line in Virginia is coming into tonight. There was a vacancy it was a democratic vacancy. It was essentially fifty one forty nine in the house of delegates. Either Party does not want to end up in a tie. You want end up winning. It's a Democrats needed to get a two-seat gain net a to see gain out of the House of delegates. NBC News is not characterizing individual state legislative races were sort of deferring to the Associated Press the Associated Press right now has so far with more to come has called one. Flip has called one Republican in the House of delegates. Going to the Democrats Democrats need need end up with two according to the Associated Press at this hour they have one on the state Senate side again. It's a forty seat body there's a vacancy. It's a Republican vacancy. So it's really twenty one. Nineteen nineteen here. The Democrats just need a net gain of one. Lieutenant Governor Democrat would basically break the tie they're sort of like the US Senate and right now. Not all of the seats are accounted for but right right now. The Associated Press has called one flip Republican to Democrat so right now. Democrats are where they need to be in the state Senate side although with the State Senate in Virginia there's always always craziness yes in terms of people declaring themselves independence after the everyday so we'll have to. We'll have to watch. That closed overnight Steve. I know you've got more map to do. We'll be back with you as we continue. Watch these racist come in right now. Actually want to stick with this drama in Kentucky Tonight von Hilliard as political reporter for NBC News. And Right now. He's at Andy. Bashir headquarters quarters at the headquarters of the Democratic Gubernatorial candidate in Kentucky. Von I know that it is a bustling room behind you. What can you tell.

"It's Monday November fourth I'm Akilah Hughes I'm Gideon Resnick and this is what a day hey sometimes we'd like to start with some conversation cars we bought online I have the box rate here all right so get in what is the longest you have ever gone without sleep sleep never been crazy like a night's sleep on today's show an update on the twenty twenty Democratic presidential primary the governor's race in Kentucky and what it means for the state and then some headlines plus a quick update on the impeachment inquiry yes so we are ninety one days away from the Iowa caucuses ninety nine from the New Hampshire primary primary and now just under a year out from the twenty twenty presidential election so this is a good moment to take stock of where things are and where they're going over the weekend the top polling twenty twenty anti Democratic presidential candidates spoke at the Iowa Liberty and Justice Celebration Senator Elizabeth Warren released a plan to pay for Medicare for all and former Texas congressman but overwork exited the race this is a campaign prided itself on seeing things clearly non speaking honestly really mounting decisively we have to clearly see at this point but we do not have the means to pursue the campaign successfully okay so really insult to injury that he has to leave the race and also just sounded like that that was bananas got that man and microphone Oh Gideon you covered aerobic before his twenty eighteen Texas Senate run and this presidential raise he was talking about guns in a way that most other candidates really haven't been doing so far supporting a mandatory buyback program using curse words who's GonNa replace him on that I don't know that anyone will immediately because a rook was doing something that was so unique for a couple of months ever since the El Paso shooting at the Walmart from a white supremacist he was sort of reinvigorated he figured out exactly why he wanted to run for president a little bit too late obviously as it sort of panned out he has been very adamant about the gun buyback program even inspiring the wrath of Meghan McCain the daughter of who's again former Senator John McCain who whose dad I is it John McCain her father John McCain right I just want to be clear that that's her father that sounds right I might need a reminder from the listeners so what a work was effectively doing was talking about the gun program that he wanted to institute and also sort of marrying it into this history of violence and racially targeted violence in the United States as well with different campaign stops that he was making it various various places the Oklahoma City bombing memorial site San Quentin Etcetera so forth just stops it other candidates wouldn't have been naturally making but the to to answer your question the two other candidates had sort of focused on guns or at least had these sorts of programs agreeing with him Senator Cory Booker I wanted a national gun licensing program Senator Comma Harrison talked about using executive orders on guns and both of them supported the mandatory back that Iraq was talking about you and the field is pretty big overall the still but for the longest time it's just been a small group of candidates that have broken out from the rest of the pack beddoes out now do you think's going to be next to go yeah I I don't really know but there are some warning signs for some people the the warning time for a warning sign for any candidate that is in this process for as long as some of these people have been which has been close to a year now is often unfortunately just money they they get to a point where they are spending more than they're bringing in and they are not sort of generating these big moments where they can break out from these crowded people anymore yeah like aerobics best day a fundraising was when he started crazy like six million dollars a day and he wasn't able to match it since then and so some of the other people people that have sort of seemed like they are and these inflection points Senator Kamala Harris obviously recently said that you know she's shedding staff and some of the early states which is not a good sign can't afford to pay them to keep going and you know the other times that this stuff kind of tends to happen around the debates so they're nine people that are going to be in the November debate and only five in December one wow well the top Democrats all spoke at the Iowa event we mentioned there's a lot of mythology about this event in two thousand seven Obama spoke there was a big event or is a big moment for his campaign a lot of people sort of point to that specific Pacific speech as how he became the front runner what about this year has a clear leader emerged at all in Iowa I don't know there's just one it's sort of the same thing that we've been kind of hinting at that the primary is still so big that it kind of leaves a situation where a lot of people could potentially have those kinds of Iowa woah breakouts if you will the thirty thousand foot view has been for quite some time that you know Warren is doing really well they're leading some of the polls Senator Bernie Sanders is doing very well they're also Biden's been doing well but it's sort of been slipping the beneficiary beneficiary of that seems to be South Bend Mayor P Buddha judge a little that so those four are probably the ones that like right at this moment people would want to keep an eye on but you know I'm certainly not GonNa make predictions actions that anymore but Biden's campaign manager also sort of had this telling moment where I think he was telling the Wall Street Journal that it's it's not super necessary for them to to win Iowa which is weird ask doesn't seem right medically but okay right I understand what he was getting at in terms of the kinds of voters that are gonNA make up the rest of the primary later and how those voters might respond to Biden but him saying that right now is like not what an amazing signal to send the people so the thing that I'm going to be curious about personally how Biden's also gonNA make up this money math problem that he has where Sanders Warren and Buddha judger way kind of outpacing him on that yeah so there's GonNa be a lot more to cover on the Democratic primary of course going forward we are going to it'd be sick that at some point we'll be checking in with developments.
