GMC powers zero-emission goals with 2024 HUMMER EV SUV
"All right. So let's start with the hummer suv. So we saw the hummer pickup truck. It was super bowl commercial. We saw it at barrett jackson scottsdale. They auctioned off vin number one when it becomes available. I saw it in person. The white one the prototype. It's massive and actually looks pretty cool. It's it's pretty bad ass. And what they're talking about like thousand horsepower. Zero to sixty in three seconds the crab walk mode it just has some pretty cool features that easier. Not like i against e. v. I just don't like the idea of people trying to take away the things that we we do love right so you know the we'd live when the headline is says. Why does the new hummer why is the second version of the humber. All the league have eight hundred sixty hasely over. Getting the hummer that was released is the four door pickup truck version and now. There's the hummer evi. Suv that's literally what they're calling it. The ev suv. And it's just as cool. I mean it looks bad ass. It has a removable roof panel. I'm not exactly sure if that's more like a target or that's kind of a t top thing with some sort of you know spine in the middle but yes so. It doesn't have the thousand horsepower. It only has eight hundred and thirty horsepower. World that we live this. Is there's There's there's the dual motor and then the three motor version right. And it'll be six hundred and twenty five horsepower or the three motor version will be eight hundred and thirty horsepower. And i know that's a little less than what they were saying on the pickup truck version. But it comes down to simply battery size and space. That's that's what it is is. The pickup truck version has a longer bed any longer chassis. So it has more room to put a battery down the middle in between the tires of this thing. And that's it the. Suv is a little bit smaller. Arguably more functional right is far as driving around town. Or all. The the hollywood and beverly hills people are going to pick up these

Ben Silverman - Ececutive Producer of The Office
"How did you discover the uk version of the office. I was at my friend. Henrietta conrad's house. I was not an agent. I had left being an agent where i had found everything from who wants to be a millionaire to cracker queer as folk and had translated them into america as the packaging agent and i laughed. Backed by barry diller to start my own company called rally and i had just begun reveling in win over to london for a work trip and was staying at my friend. Henrietta conrad's house and we were watching television. And i was literally flipping the channels and i came on to the office. This is episode one or two okay of the uk season one office. Wow and i was watching it. I wondering if it was for comedy or for real than quickly recognized what it was doing single camera no laugh track faux documentary with people who felt real and i kept watching and started laughing. And it's really hard to make me laugh. And i was falling in love with the show in that moment and then i started thinking about it the next day in the morning and i asked henrietta if she knew ricky gervais as and she said no but her friend dan. Mazer did and we organized and had dinner with dan that night. Which are twenty four hours after you after you see it for the first time on television. You're having dinner with someone who could get you to ricky. Yes and additionally. I also wanted to be with dan. Dan was sasha baron. Cohen's partner allergy was on television. Was allie ardor your then no in the uk okay. But i'm with dan mazer yep. Dan is lovely brilliant in his own. Right and i start peppering questions about the office. And he gives me ricky cell phone number and so the next day. I call ricky around eleven o'clock in the morning and introduce myself on the phone and say i'd love to meet you. Are you in town. He goes actually. Yes me in soho at the starbucks this afternoon and i coordinate a meeting and i spent an hour with ricky talking about the office and very quickly we got along because we both love television and he truly was making me laugh even in those moment right over over the coffee at starbucks and so he clearly had chosen the location of the starbucks because he then says to me oh good news. My agent is right around the corner. Let's go meet with them so it was almost like he met me confirmed. I was okay roy. Conversation was interesting and then we walked over and met with dunkin' as his agent. And then duncan and i began a three month process to secure the rights. And it wasn't until dunkin. Help me unlock it. All that i realized. Both the bbc and ricky controlled the rights. I needed ricky and stephen merchant to actually get it done and agitate to get it done otherwise. It was never going to get done. Got it so you you deal with the bbc. And you deal with ricky steven. You have this partnership in place and where do you go into the united states. I immediately start making phone calls and saying. Are you aware of the show the office. Do you know what it is. Do you think it would interest you. And this is probably now a month after are so run. The show has started to gain buzz. It's aired its cycle in the uk. Its initial six episodes and so it has an awareness. Now it's a thing right not a big thing but to anyone in england it in the television industry. You're aware so. I'm i'm back at the states reaching out to people one of the incredible things about hollywood which was a huge advantage for me to do. Well was that people in hollywood are pretty insular and don't like to travel. They think you need a passport to get from burbank to beverly hills. That is travel and so many people at this time in american television had no clue connection about anything beyond la. Right and only one exac at the time knew what i was talking about was a guy named nick grad. Who worked at fx and he knew what the show was and he loved the show. Kevin riley was running fx. At the time. I'd gone to less mooned us he passed. I went to gail berman. She passed immediately. Didn't get it. Hbo said we'll never do a remake. They clearly have altered that thinking that that time they were like. We won't do a format and showtime wasn't doing shows like this right. I didn't go to abc. 'cause i just knew it wasn't abc. Right and i was starting to tease. Nbc with it and kevin than got named the head of nbc. And i bring it up to him. And i say would you wanna do it here and kevin says absolutely little. Did he know he was actually my only buyer that time. He was the only one right who wanted everyone else. All of television everyone else had passed. Now are you in kevin's like let's do it. Like let's let's make it. You know i'll give you a pilot movement and then kevin's boss though. Who is very involved in his life. Jeff zucker didn't really like it that much because it was his single camera. Nola back injury. I got it like it was a hard pill for them to swallow. I was also like they didn't want the game show back in prime time when i brought millionaire. Everyone thought that was cheesy. Daytime like no no. This will change. Tv know you gotta look at it from how to push the genre and pushed the envelope. So that you can expand versus always play for defense right and i was like this is another level and this is potentially transformative of television and with that can come great great

Woman Shot in Leg During Robbery at Los Angeles County Restaurant
"Right now we have a chance to speak to a man named shy shy ellison he was the guy who had the expensive watch stolen from him at gunpoint in beverly hills yesterday style. The restaurant and there was a three got into it with the thieves. They were three thieves. One gun There was a struggle gun. Went off Grazed a woman's leg shot to be taken to the hospital. Let's get reason. He was the owner of the watch. You try to fight off the robbers. Welcome to the john. And ken show i. How are you. We're probably a better place than you are right now. What explain what happened. I was eating lunch with a client of mine and offend uh right next to the jewelry store that i own on cannon drive at l. taio and we just ordered a drink and These three young guys probably in their twenties wearing hoodies were walking out of bounds. Some on cannon told me and it's always our table and one of them grabbed me from behind while sitting at the taylor Joking me and putting it onto my head the other two were holding my arm and trying to take the watch of my wrist and When i had a chance while they were doing it. I grabbed the gun with both hands and struggled with them to the ground in during the struggle. Couple of bullets went off. 'cause the guy's finger on the trigger that lady that was sitting few tables down got Grazed by one of the bullets. We kept on fighting on the ground. One of the guys The rodney ren with the with the watch was fighting with the other two. I ended up getting the gun. The gun was in my hand and to started running on foot. One of them might have gotten shot in the altercation But i ended up with a gun and police game to curb gun and the rest of the store you know.
The Eddie Murphy Hall of Fame
"Are joined by van leith in the cost of higher learning and eddie murphy expert to break down the career. One of the greats. What what i what. I what i was going on with guys hanging in there excited to talk about eddie. We're gonna do a hall of fame here so for the folks out there who have never heard hall of fame episode very briefly. Break down what we do on these episodes. We have built halls of fame for tom. Hanks roger deakins. Nancy meyers toshiro buffoon. A monster movies and most recently george clooney. So it's time for eddie. What we doing we build. A hall is ten films from a career. No more no less. He's got forty movies so we got a lot to talk about here. I'm going to start with this. Amanda eddie murphy. What do you think. I think of multiple eddie. Murphy's i think of a lot of characters all in one movie. This is going to be interesting van. I'm really excited to talk to you about all of these because i've been listening to unsurprisingly. There are a lot of rewatch ables movies. Eddie murphy movies on rewatch bulls and i was listening to some of them in. You're on several of them. And you know i had that podcast thing where you want to respond to the person but you know it's a podcast so now you're here and it's a privilege to get to talk to you but for me eddie murphy is a little bit of. It's a generational cork for me. Because i am just. I think a little bit more than both of you and so i became kind of like movie aware movie sentient like mid nineties. Nine hundred ninety five nine hundred ninety six. And i've done a lot of catch up but if you become aware of movies in the mid nineties that means that the first eddie murphy. You get the nutty professor and then milan. And then shrek. I saw shrek in theaters. Not above it. So you know at that point. He's like the elder statesmen of comedy super established. Like i knew the beverly hills cop steam song and dance to it while before i saw it but kind of understanding him as like family eddie murphy and then catching up on everything else. Interesting chronological or not chronological murphy. Experience for me. Then you want to do your history with eddie. I know you are been living with him for a long time. Yes i have been So i hambur what year this was and i don't wanna insult my parents. Every time i mentioned my parents. I get some minor detail wrong and then i have to hear about it into along to our phone call. Your parents listen airpods today. Let's no your show's. I wish they wouldn't but that's nice. Yeah i wish they would but they My father was taking me to see a movie. We were all going to the movies but this time we were breaking it off like my father was taking me to see one of the superman movies. It's either three or four and my sister. My grandmother my mother went to see beverly hills cop two and this was my first experience with with with seeing people so jazz to see a movie because they went this way. Like we went to the superman franchise. I fell off by that point so we went this way and they go this way when they go this way. They're all of these people over there. And i'm like daddy i wanna go over here and he's i know that's too old for you. We're gonna go watch superman. And i say that because that's the moment that i actually became movie sentient by. That's the start of it. That's like what are these people into. Before that i can't tell you when i i kind of became aware of eddie murphy. Because he's like michael jackson in the sense that there was never a time. I wasn't aware of him. I was born in nineteen eighty so by the time. I start getting Information downloaded into me eddie. Murphy's a part of that he's like a part of that thing but the first time. I realized that this guy isn't just a do that. I see on tv or the guy that that he is. The biggest thing in the world is what i saw. People excited to go for it felt. So that's my that's my memory of him and it's not even necessarily what you might call one of his mega classics like beverly hills. Cop two was the event that you can remember that says a lot. And that's eighty seven net says a lot about where we were with. Eddie he was kind of in the middle of i. There are very few movie star runs in the history of movies like the one he had in the eighties. The rise to fame which starts on. Tv i guess tom hanks Robin williams maybe In terms of just successful movies maybe will in there but those movies weren't weren't quite the same as well. what is there were talking about. It's really remarkable when you think about it. There's no like they're not like high concepts with willa was like he needed to be punching an alien in the face to get to this level and like eddie movies are just like it's especially in the eighty s. Eddie is just running around doing stuff. That's that is what this movie is. He's he's being harassed whether he's a cop or he's a convict fresh outta jail or if he's a guy off the street who gets taken into financial institution like it's just it's entirely built around his persona and his sense of humor which is is unusual. We don't see that very much. These

"Houses. A great imitation. There's no doubt about no no no and that's why we're going strong. That's why it is your love for each. it's just they don't call you al for nothing for nothing. Pendle is can have the panthers the l. Yeah you're gonna be pandals else. Hey i know someone who can renew your vows for you really really. Did they do it. Like maybe in tampa they anywhere anything works. Wow yeah i hear. There's a three day waiting period forgetting mary anytime. What if you're not the first fifteen and he just kind of got it down to where we're just doing jokes for fifty people love not upset about. Hey i know. It's beverly hills but people have beer at weddings. That's not the item there so just taken aback by somebody who wants to have a beer at a wedding is absurd. Like you're spending millions of dollars told me there's an open bar at that wedding with what we were so low class and all of our friends are so low there. They're tasting champagnes. I'm assuming that's for the toasts. That's not or you mean to tell me they're going to the wedding and everyone's just drinking champagne tough. That's a tough one anything better than going to a wedding. You're not excited about it. You're just like i can't believe this is happening. And then you show but it's an open bar off okay. I mean look got bigger. Things are look. Also if they have chick-fil-a nuggets as well does that does weddings with mars. A nugget trae awesome. What we spend all our money in the open bar. What do we do for food nude. Can we stop like like. Let's make weddings fun again. That's what i you know what i'm talking about. Get those nuggets. Like are great like. Stop it with your sideshow bar and nuggets with an open bar. I'm there out go to anybody's wedding if you saved them. Save the money on the like. Don't do invitations. Just let me know what's happening. i'll be there. I'll be there. And if i'm there. I want nuggets. And i wanna know how all open bar wedding. Open nacho bar all my gosh open chicken wing bar open cream sundae bar open alcohol bar hop. I mean i'm there. Why are we planning weddings. I i wonder people wouldn't find our weddings appeal. They're wrong how can tell you that Speaking of wrong brennan penny in this movie says. I don't think i could head back to oregon without seeing the ocean now. I don't really care where they live in oregon. Your job is taking people out onto the ocean. That is what you do for a living sir. I'm just begging. You hear acts like the character makes sense. You can't see you see the ocean every day every once it gets in your blood though man i can't i can't i. Just don't understand. I get it like organs. A big state. I'm not saying. They live near to the ocean but his job is to take people out on the ocean. How is this something he has to do before he goes back. Home doesn't make any sense terrible talking. About what what about. What the hallmarks have you guys. Consider doing those. My idea for this segment would be. It's where we discuss any questions that we have that we would love some sort of clarity to after watching this. Movie panda wok. Why aren't they into social media. Why is jordan so frightened of the social. I mean he. He's manley aggressive about that. I think jordan is like in the witness protection. Yes yes yes yeah. He is much very upset about all of it. Dancing the there filming him wall seriously man like when he's eating the like get a thing. I totally get like not want like. Don't put my kids on social media. Like i'm totally but your grownup like what's like in you're in the witness protection program. This is the world that you live at bow tries is just a part of it. Don't worry too much because terrence makes millions of dollars by being social media influence or. He's not going to have a lot of you and your brother just walking through the hotel there may be like a couple of seconds like it's not going to be all over the internet mad about the dancing things like that. My my other one is the dancing thing that they posted did seem not nice it did. It did have some snark to it like they were making fun of the couple. Not knowing how to dance right. What's up with that tear. It's like a lot of stuff that it all depends on whose side you wanna be. There's a lot of stuff that terence could be faulted for of being awful. Yeah yeah wanted to for sure. But that's the same goes for every character in the movie but that's part of the problem. I think what you're saying like terrence isn't a good guy but his. He's so likable like his personality is really great. And he's not like snarky page in this movie heat like this poor girl. Imagine a woman coming up to you and saying oh. I want to wear the wedding dress of my mother and and talking her out of the trees a monster monster but we like like what is his deal understand. I just need a timeline of events for this thing. I think that's my big issue because first of all they say The weddings going to be on valentine's day and then they immediately say that's in six weeks which means happy new year to you folks but but also it means their six weeks. All these people have jobs they work. And the next day they wanna play beverly hills in beverly hills for. I don't know. I don't know a few days and then come back and i feel like the wedding like the next day or two away. So where are the six weeks like. How long do they spend in each place. So here's my thinking was in this. Because i had the same question i think what they do is they get. They fly up to plan and get flies him back and then they fly back for the wedding so he would have worked. Had they had the beverly hills wet correct but they said no go. They went home and so it makes you think that they ended up because they the only reason they were going to have the wedding. That soon was. Because i. I believe at one point. I heard three weeks. I think there are going to spend three weeks in beverly hills planning it so fly home. Okay my next question subsequent question as you probably also have his how all these people taking three weeks off of work. Well let's go back little wet. Well let's think about it corey you can do it every once Molly she just takes pictures whenever somebody who doesn't even sell them online and the other two people we don't care about their josh door join runs. The farm doesn't join. Russell far formed for three weeks. Doing it you bet you bet you could. Hey i'm getting married. Can you watch weeks weeks pesticide on this and then and then her what does she do. We don't know see some teacher. She's.

"That was good. I guess that kind of thing. Yeah me too. I thought it was great. By the way what part of show where we talk about what in this movie minutes go. Wait panda this. One actually might have an answer to it but it's also not big enough for what the hallmark that makes sense so as our wing for sophia. The girl who's the sister to pull up. She's getting ready to photograph the engagement. She's pulling up and they're waiting for her and she gets a message on her phone that said and she says oh she's almost here Here in just a couple of minutes and then she runs to go. Hide brook okay. So here's my question brooks hiding like brooks brooks is not supposed to like be there. Why is she getting notified that the sister is on the way like maybe some. She's coordinating with somebody else or like the people in the barn. You know everybody's waiting on the born like somebody said just texted. Hey she just left where she was coming from. I don't know it. just it makes it. he would be the one who would just that was just. I know there's a dumping. But i was a little confused by that at the very end of the sweepstake commercial where the guy terrence is talking about. Hey if you sign up you get a free. Beverly hills wedding. His commercial ends with the end. It just. I just love that. It's like a happily ever after kind of thing like a hollywood movie. The i don't know it's a komo whatever And then finally sophia says at one point today was fun. The four of us hanging out again felt like old times. They're fighting the entire previous scene and like does that feel like old time. Sufi is super fund. Guys like it. Just don't understand. So i mean i had this whole way. What is like. Why is everyone so frazzled. About six weeks when like they're doing it all for you live. I know they still had their in like their input on. You had to find the dress. Sure but like you don't have to find a venue like part of the reason why you wait so long you have all this planet of the venue you gotta find the venue gotta figure out who's gonna catering and they're doing all this but they're just putting their input of like what they would like food like so like. Why are you so frazzled. Six weeks engagement. And everything's paid for. That sounds awesome. Yeah they couldn't do all the housing scott be less excited about a million dollar wedding like they. They don't they don't. They're not excited at all. And i get that you. Maybe think it's too soon or you don't like some of the choices. But there's zero excitement about a multimillion dollar wedding which is wild for sure she this when they're sitting by the pool the to bros. The brother has something on his nose. Kinda looks like chocolate. What and i was like this is the first time we noticed those knows next scene. It's gone what do you think it. Why do you think he took a sip of the beverage because they had a little every day. that's why i never. They shouldn't have stuff in their cups because it gets on their noses. Why four luke. Because i was like oh you must have like a like a mole on his nose or something. That's interesting no no just some sort of some sort of something. I t- terrance. Says a beverly hill wedding can take place anywhere. And i'm here to tell you i k. Eight yep fair berry without the beverly hills just a wedding last one. you know. this is obviously such a. you know. Hallmark can't do technology but there's just a few things in this movie that are that are so wild to me technology wise that i can't believe this is still happening. Yeah i can't believe it one. This is a million dollar wedding. It is a wedding planner for the stars and his assistant is shooting the video on a camera from ten years ago. Came like it is absurd. Why why and it's for social yes. It's for social media and then that same guy says let's do a boomerang schuster boomerang this way which you can't do in the story or else it will show be wonky. You don't do that. And then last. But not least she has three gene. Honor foundry three. It's not forty. Three g three d just calling three g from y what brutal. It's not i just wanna know. Why when when whoever's editing this movie and his building the phone thing because apparently they can't just use the screen like i don't understand that either but when you're building out the phone for the movie why put three g using she use something from before identical and that's the only thing i can figure y just an old one for years and years ago doesn't make any sense. Three g was a great. Gt three really such a good job as a really good g. like to g to g was so sad after three japan's equal So this woman do your say first of all. She wants to be a professional photographer. I think i think that's our goal. The reason i'm not sure is one. She continually puts her finger in front of the lens while she's taking pictures like not once. It doesn't happen once. It happens two or three times and then the second reason. I'm not sure she wants to be professional. Photographer is is somehow as she looks back on her story career. The thing that's eluded. Her grasp is selling her portrait's online. She's like i thought by now. I'd be selling pictures online. I have news for you. If you've got twenty five dollars in or credit card you can sell your pictures online. There are numerous websites that will sell your pictures for you online. It is not a high hurdle to clear. Everyone can clear it. It's easy not hard. Not sure your professional photographer the other couple. I don't remember the name. Sophia in something corey. The first time they meet. It feels like they met last week on a zoom call like they have. He's like sophia. So george sophia. Hi how are you. Hi jordan awkward. Hug and i couldn't believe that they were engaged. I couldn't believe it. I just didn't understand and i do want to get this right. There's zero budget for this wedding zero and brooke. Your sees big plan is inter a bunch of drawings. That's her plan. Is if i enter enough drawings i'll get a free wedding or free stuff and i don not a viable plan or viable backup. It's it's just a bad idea. I i don't. I don't understand it Tarrant says the invitations set the tone for your entire marriage up. They do not your entire wedding your entire life together. The tone is set for your for the until death. Do as part by the wedding invitation. That's bold spoiled. What was your wedding invitation like. It was an hour an owl. These ladies are morales. Well no it was a now putting his arm another. Somebody drew it for someone drew and you feel good about that representing your cell tower. Yeah and i'll tell you why it's domino effect. Because the because he goes onto. Explain imitations Let you know what kind of wedding it's going to be. You don't want bad expectations going entire. If you said say that invitation set the tone for the entire wedding. i'm here. I'm imagine you start off on the wrong foot and then it just sets the tone for the rest of your marriage you start. What do you mean you start off on the wrong. Well if people get the wrong feelings about your people see an invitation and they get the wrong idea about at that could totally ruin your life together. Significant doesn't help it. put the batteries out in the. Okay all right. I understand that.

"Bad for me. I think it's it's not that low i. It's it's it's it's it's in the bottom half of the classic. Its forced to the christmas. I hate the christmas during just kind of occurring to me. The more i see penny is that i. I kind of like i. I kind of like brennan penny movies. So like i'm i'm kind of like anytime he's in there. I'm like good time with this guy. I'm having a good time with this pal. do you think the issue is brooke. You don't like burke. I i would say going into this movie and my mind i would have put both of these two leads on my lower half of the regulars but i think pennies kind of growing on. Here's kind of like. He's kinda like i didn't mind him in this movie. I the last one. Little christmas charm law was the first time i was like okay. So here's the pride of mine pro think we can. I could sum up my feelings on this movie in a sense. Which is the two leads. Believe they are making an old hallmark movie and the screenwriter and everyone else are thinking. They're making a new hallmark movie. Like those to brooke. Your saying brennan penny are acting in this way that only works in that old formula. That homework isn't using as much anymore. Like this formula. They're trying to tell jokes and they're trying to be funny and they're trying to be modern hip and not have people. Just be nice to each other right out of the box but penny and yours say are still trying to play that those old archetypes of what hallmark lead is. That's my big issue with the movie. It just never jaws because and they're still more interesting to me than the other couple in the movie. That's getting married they are. I mean you know. They are legitimately es just tom. Hanks and meg ryan by comparison to the other couple. That doesn't even seem interested in each other and they're getting married that that's even worse to be. I don't think that they have. This is crazy. I don't think to lead have enough alone time for in their dates like they're always doing something the other couple and so. I don't think i don't have enough time to grow in their relationship. I think that's passed. They do. But maybe i don't know i just it. You don't need as much time together when you have that pass and you're able to work but they're fighting every seen all of it just as a judge like none of jobs you've ever read the movie ever acting in it. None of them are on the same thing. That's fair time for all the field. Smartest show we talk about. What in this movie. Gavison feels panda Man tear it's In general whenever he's on the screen. I think terrence does a really fun job and i really. I will say this for a movie. Where i don't think any of the characters have in my opinion lob redeeming features terrence does have that kind of redemption ark so to speak. I know it's a small redemption. But like he comes and i really liked that he comes. He's like hey listen. You helped me reconnect with what i used to believe in stuff. I think that's fine. Blueberry james magical ma'am i that was the one seen. I think when terence's husband said. Hey you you gotta try this jam like it was like terence's husband knows that terrence kind of may be lost as well yeah sucked up into the beverly hills lifestyle and like it's like that thing where you don't want to just call somebody out but you're like i'm not gonna keep kind of showing you what you're missing and the james. What did it. So i thought it was a sweet moment between the two of them. I thought the jam was a nice connection point to his his past and his home. And so i like that. It's a no for me. I'd i think that you probably all saw that coming. Nothing in this movie felt authentic or genuine or worthy of feel like it all felt like it was people doing a paint by numbers movie with different canvases. So it's a note for me. That's a good analogy. That was really good. One man. I appreciate that. Take away for another time to Unless we take another one come on.

"Now what our a kid later in the show gosh laypeople you know what you should have done is. We probably shouldn't pay ourselves million dollar salaries that we give it to the ads. We all have to make one million dollars eats insane. It's a rule that was a blood agreement that we are nothing. If we could just back off of that i mean. I think we'd be doing a little better. Yeah you cut down to one break. If we do like nine nine. We all drive korean automobiles the key hyundai. Try to match it with hyundai. He will pull. It's time for the hot tag is where we share exactly how he felt about this movie. We don't hold back. I got an argument again into this. Big argument with suzy publis. She's the area so much trash about japan. Hannah's holding back in the door because she keeps okay to be fair. She keeps taking the hot rotisserie chicken putting it right next to the milk. I'm going to call you on it. Don't do that why. She spoils the milk every time. It's so that she brings the milk cover out of the cold it if she put a chicken next to milk and a goal deduction milk would be fine. Well i need to apologize. I said you're making the chunky but susie but she took that and she's she ran with it. She's very she's saying you're takes are are soft cold like that you you know you've okay. What are the win for you. Susie coming out hot this movies like lord of the rings. How about that The extended digestion of lord of the rings. Long way too long and it has rings dislike lord of the rings. That's how it's like. Laura that's how it's like lord of the also very long very long would it Surprise you to learn that this movie still only roughly eighty three minutes. Although i think the math doesn't work out on that it is it is long movie guys. I was excited about this movie. I thought in the preview It looked good three stars. I gave it three stars. And i regret that decision within the first fifteen minutes. I thought i think. I've made a mistake and the movie does not improve for me. Here's why first of all i say and penny are are just. There's no chemistry there they are. I don't think that there's a lot chemistry there is. It's a boring relationship there any chemistry there. No chemistry there. It's a boring relationship. No chemistry class listen classic doses career. You get what you get with my career. No chemistry nokia movie donovan. Lindy better in this movie. I feel like lindy gotta go with but man. I don't like any of the characters except for tarrant electorates. He's the wedding planner. Thought he use the most interesting of the characters to me. It's a bunch of people complaining about. What is a really nice way that you're getting for free most of the time. They don't really even seem like they like each other most of the movie and so at the end when they finally get together by that i have no feelings for these people Yeah i just i'm not. I'm not really feeling this movie at all. it was kind of slog for me to watch overall. I hate that. Just not not real thrilled by this movie. That's hot man. Not thrilled not real thrilled. Not real thrilled. No chemistry no chemistry. So here's what i'm going to guess. I got four conversation hearts here okay. Four different things work them in my hot take. I love it. I thought this was nice. But i agree with panda. They of chemistry. I you know the the leaves are will are. Were whatever the couple that was getting married. I just couldn't by even a little of like just didn't get it at all I wouldn't i would never have said call meets either one of those couples. But you know i can see. I could see why you might get a little bit invested and the lead characters like the they were together. The more i was like. I don't hate what they're doing. You know the beach in the day and the dancing. I don't know it didn't not work for me. I thought terrace wonderful. I was like only you tear. It's only you my friend. Because he's he's doing a really good job. He was the best part of the movie. I agree with you. One hundred percent thought. He was great and the way that he came around. I thought that was really nice. All not my favorites from a story standpoint from a script stamp. When i thought it was week we were And what i look for these movies. I look for with that just reaches out and i'm just like hugged me and and this one didn't do it for me and so it's a path for brand little bit slower than i would like and so it's a pass but you know i'm excited for actually playing cuban things going to be surprised at the season. And there's there's my heart i think this one might be the worst of the season guys in a call. It early. I don't know how it could get worse than this like. I know there's only three movies left. Ones and aaron creko tyler. Hynes one's a mix up in the mediterranean ones emma. Knockoff those three. There's no way anything's gonna be near this movie. As far as bad. Four conversation hurts. Hug me ice nice. I remember only you only and Call me only uterus. That makes sense. That was the where where you said. I can't believe. I wanna call me call me. Yeah that's weird. yeah. I thought you did a great. I'm more invested in the bit that most were thought forgot you were doing. I remember towards the end when you said hug me and say i should have been listened. I thought i was actually. I was sitting there going. Hug it's interesting. This movie's abomination to filmmakers and photographers everywhere. And i don't know who should be more ashamed. And here's the thing is i've seen a little bit. I didn't read our chat. Because i don't read that on the facebook group. 'cause i don't wanna get spoiled but i saw a little bit on the twitter and people were complaining. The movie is bad because all of these people are inherently being the worst. And while it's weird because you get mad at terrence for not understanding that. She wants to wear her mom's dress and that's she should know that you could get mad at these people for being like. Hey these this stuff is free. you're not paying for anything. The reason that the movie is bad is because no one who's acting in this movie knows how to approach the script. This script is by drop jaw botkin. Who did project. Christmas wish and she writes very quick rat a tat dialogue. That's meant to be snarky. That's meant to be going very quickly. And everyone is taking a full breath but between every line in this movie it is like a middle school theater production where everyone's looking down breathing and then remembering. They're lying that they memorized while doing some script reading with the wall. It is just an absolute abomination. I just can't imagine anyone watching this movie and thinking. Oh yeah this is. This is what we come for. It was awful just terrible across the board. Yeah there's plenty. Wait what's but just the making of the movie was that bad. It was so terrible. It's the worst of the year. It's the worst of the year. And i don't even think it's close is more severe. I've seen a long time. Yeah i think that. Like the last week's with jen lilley takes us one little kiss. I think gaga's good. I mean i'm thinking here this christmas ring. I think this is better than the christmas rink for. This is down there with god. Wink and if i only had christmas it really is. It's bad not for me really.

"Little off today. Guys just yeah. It was a little wild and crazy louis while wild monday nights you get it. Yeah guys great to be here on a monday. Yesterday was so much fun alonzo once again hanging out. Twelve dates of christmas mark paul. Abc family very fun. Very fun movie. Hope you listened to that episode. And if not. I'm not gonna tell you the positive. Go listen to that but like if you get to that episode. That'd be really cool to cause. I think you're gonna like this one. We got a lot of really great things plan that we went through show prep whether or not paying a dozen. I'll do them. I'm back on board. you have to. You have to give me the pep talk. You didn't give me the pep talk. Beforehand gives us clues right so it's small but also a little bit bigger than what you would expect pill bottle. I know but it's edible. Hershey kiss now. The pandemic gives us clues stuff. So i'm excited more things like that and they have excellent beverly hills wedding today. Everybody the first of the lever after movies. Now banda you and i were. You came in today and you were like you know what i think. I've made an egregious error in judgment listening back thinking back to deliver his show three stores while he was what i'm speaking of. Is you finally saw the trailer for playing cupid. Next week's movie. And i i was higher on it and i said today. I think it's going to be the surprise of the year Paying a you saw the trailer. As soon as i watch it all know this feels right here for the one star wars movie. I can return gonna like. Yeah no. I'm there for it. So listen you're you're a big man because you're able to admit when you've made just a horrible a horrible. Yeah and able to battle one. And i wish i had. I wish i had finally saw a commercial for mixed in the mediterranean. Ever been on. That looks as wonderful as i am excited about it and then the krakow in the in the hines. I mean. Show me anything. "Welcome movie crush. Charles w chuck bryant here for the last of my l. a. studio sessions. I had the wonderful paul scheer into talk about beverly hills cop Big fan of paul's have long been a big fan of his From the early days on mtv with human giant very underrated show. If you haven't seen human giant with arab hubel and disease in. Sorry and paul scheer go find that and then later on with things like the league very funny show and one of my all time. Favorite shows children's hospital Paul has been around and we get into it with his early stories. Which i just couldn't get enough of of his His early days in new york and in early formation of the upright citizens brigade theater and that whole crew that he was with back then who all just went on to do. Great things is really amazing. Such a talented group of people Who are just kids back then. And they're all doing really great great stuff still and apollo was post. Great an he He came in here. to talk about beverly hills cop but also to talk about his new podcast unspoiled. So not only does he have the great Bad quote unquote bad movie podcasts. How did this get made with his lovely wife. June diane raphael jason zukas but he has a new show called unspoiled which takes a more Not serious but i guess more of a serious critical eye at the at the top one hundred movies of all time. So it's kinda kinda neat. He's clearly a huge huge movie guy and it was great to talk to I feel like we could have gone for hours talking about all kinds of movies but checkout unspoiled for sure on the air with network and mid roll. It's a really really good show and they're just getting cranking with it so The some really good stuff out there. I'm a big fan already. And here we go with. Paul scheer on beverly.

"I don't need to with this guy anymore and i don't need to put up with this marriage. That's not the love affair that i want it to be at this age. I still have a great body. I'm still sexy and horny. And i want more so i think her. Not having a prenup fare better. Because she's been married to him so long maybe she said he was like a tough lawyer so she couldn't actually enforce it was the reason that she's purportedly say you didn't sign a prepayment pre right so you know i don't know we'll have to see how he feels about the end. I guess because if he's really that tough then you know it's not going to go as smooth is as we all hope for what you know who knows. Maybe there isn't that much money. And you know what i mean like. Maybe they're using. It was if you've lead such a lavish lifestyle for the last twenty years with private planes and everything and you know i mean not like. They're broke but maybe there isn't so much and so she's like. Hey i'm good to go now anyway because it's not like we're ever going to get that money back. I'd rather like just beyond my own. Take my chunk and they'll be fine. I'm just wondering like how would she make that argument of like earned half of his waiver. That argument would come from. It would be like. I was with him. That would be the lifestyle like ass but then he could argue but now you can afford to keep that same lifestyle you know you. Can you can afford it. A five million dollar house. You can afford to buy clothes and go on trips. You could afford that all yourself so y you know so. We'll we'll split split our assets. But like i shouldn't have to be continuing to pay your life anymore so i think it'll just be a pay off like a chunk. She'll jumped ship. Yeah scooter bronner gleb. No i'm just kidding. Okay i want to ask you a question Okay so salt lake city. Yes what do you think. Okay me about i. I only have watched half. But i'm aware of all the characters and i think they found these group of women somehow and that's why they did that happen to be in salt lake city because they did. It is a fun different group. They have a lot of weirdness. And so i am very curious to continue watching it. What do you think. Well right off the bat on the first episode which i did watch and i am going to religiously watch this show. Religiously yes yes. Sure sorry sorry. Had to okay but there are few things that stuck out to me. Okay so number one. I want to say that I haven't done a party in sundance in the last few years but for ten years i did sundance and i did. Mega parties in sundance. A lot of them. And i never heard of lisa barlow or her tequila. So i'm just saying that. And i guess katie maloney from pump rules who lives in park city also has never heard of her so i felt like the kiss the ring to get in sundance parties. That shaw said love. John shaw by the way but felt that that was not totally. You know accurate. So i'm going to say on that friends. That was my first thought. My second thought is that. I'm wondering if mary cosby on is happy married to her grandfather. Based on the read it flying around that everyone's been talking about the scandal and it is gossip so i won't repeat it here but i did do a an instagram about it. If you guys want to see it. But i mean what is this. I read that too. I mean what is the skin on. i feel it. Isn't that the story that she fell in that. Her grandmother died it was actually at. Its her step grandfather so it was. Her mother's mother married this man. Her mother's mother died and then he was the of this church and he's like i'm in love with my step granddaughter. Which by the way. No that's how it he said. Happy supposedly said that's a great way for it to go down. But that isn't what he said. He said that god told him supposedly. This is what supposedly he said through this. This read it that was done by a congregation. Who was apparently there that god had come down and told him that he was supposed to marry his step granddaughter and that the mother was so outraged that she left the church and started her new church and the congregation split in half. Oh yes yes. that's i did. Read that yeah. Yeah and then the mother then brought into question about the mother because she said that the mother was in perfect health when she passed away and wanted to. I guess again gossip. Purportedly had the body exhumed. But then the greg the grandfather would not allow it. This gossip and this is what was said in this. Read it so. I don't know if any of this is true but this is the congregation person's right right right and then what ended up happening. Was mary married hand and then supposedly started on using the money. This is again gossip that to do all these great things for herself in terms of like plastic surgery and dying her hair blonde and all of these things again. This is what this read. It said right and yeah and then And then came back and said that god had transformed her body into this. How hello fucking luhya bit. Yeah yeah me to come. Come get me come help me. Yeah i need. Kyle's plastic surgeon. But i mean it's off to a fun it's off to a fun start you know. It's a little different than the other franchises. And i liked it. All the franchises have their own thing. That's the way it should be like new york should be. What new york is you know with the with the classic and their you their life like i love new york and and beverly hills has mostly retired actresses. I'm fine with that too. You know. I think it's like just just make it that these people would actually kind of hang out with each other. That's where i think. The success of a show comes. Oh i totally agree with you. I think i mean i you know. Obviously you like the season went through. You know four of real housewives of beverly hills the best because actually i was on it. No that's not. Why the beginnings of all the shows were the best always because people especially back then when people didn't know how to play the reality shows game and i mean old real housewives of new jersey and those are that's why it's so fun now when like younger people that didn't see it now are just like during quarantine like oh my god. I'm twenty five. And i just discovered real housewives of beverly hills and i'm watching on hulu from the beginning and it's like you're almost like jealous like all my god. What fun you must be having. You know like like well and it's real. It was real problems. It was real. It was really people working there shutout with their fast. And i think people really dig that like i you know. I never understood why. Bravo doesn't dive into some of the single housewives and then trying to date the psychopaths that live in la. Like that's great tv shied on. I don't think they can get any good guys to agree on to be on tv. Only a few you know. I think it's hard to say. They had to be good well. Dana thank you so much. I really enjoyed getting to know you and enjoyed talking to you. And this is gonna be great so everybody can follow dana. Tell them you're instagram. Wilkie underscore dana and my twitter is at dana wilkie and it doesn't have an official mark for some weird reason. Yeah keep following her so you can keep up to date and very entertaining so you guys hope you enjoyed that. Also tomorrow when you're running around.

"I'm sorry can't be your friend anymore. So it's like a lot of pressure like really shallow lot of pressure. Okay so you so you when you were there. And doing taylor's party am watching it from a person. That's not on the show but is observing doing your job as the party planner. Were what did you. What was your opinion of it. Then did you think it was crazy fund. You'd think it was interesting. What you mean the mad hatter party as you're like azure during the mad hatter party in the housewives. Are there the cameras are there. You know they're filming for the show. Did you find like intriguing. Did you think oh. I'd like to be on this one day or we. Is it like totally. Not even something you thought about like you know. What was your opinion. Yeah it was nothing that i thought about. Actually i didn't think about it at all. I thought of as a job. And i thought about it as good exposure for me as an event planner so i was like it was a strictly business thing. I was pregnant at the time. I had brown hair. I was like you know for me. It was like a work thing. And i was supporting a friend. I didn't really understand reality. Tv at this point. I really truly believed this was going to be like a story. Like lifestyle at the rich and famous or something. I hadn't really had that much experience with it. Because it was just emerging at this point right and we had you watched any of the new york or host. The at that point no an. Oc had just started a few years before. So i kind of like caught a few. But like i wasn't religiously watching it wasn't my thing right. Yeah yeah now. It's my thing so they sell on that season. We we just saw you with the pre planning the party. So was it. After that season then they approached you and then and then you were featured in the second season yet actually did not happen through taylor. Taylor was actually saying to me that the producers on the show were kind of hoping that she would find someone besides russell to shoot with that. She knew that i don't know. Maybe there was some struggles. Without the producers there was some behind the scenes drama happening at that time with that and i. i didn't connect it to me at all. Like i actually was like. Oh that's too bad. I hope they can find you somewhere. Good for you you know. So then what happened. Was i was in sundance. And i was doing an event and i got to know corey feldman. Okay corey feldman. Has this really cool. Manager named scott and scott and i became friends and he was trying to work with me on some projects corey with brands and sponsorship and stuff. So we were becoming friends and what ended up happening was scott reached out to me while i was in miami beach partying and said you know they're looking to cast a housewife for your friend taylor show and that was like really and he was like yeah. He's like you want me to send you the application. And i was like sure so yeah so it wasn't like you know like andy was like oh deena we've been watching you for a while and yeah you're the one no so i got an application and i felt it out in like photos. It was much like the playboy mansion. And yeah and they basically guest decided. I was like you know. Obviously crazy enough. You know had all the they must look for like. I feel like they look for triggers like psycho. Okay she's unhinge. This will be good. Let's go with so anyway. I got a call while. I was in miami beach. I didn't even I just sent in my pocket. And i got a call from. I think it was like it. Was dave dave repel anyway. He called me up and said listen. We're interested in you. But we're shooting now and i was like well. I had just rented. The sick asked penthouse in miami beach. And i was like. I'm not leaving this place and blowing the rest of the money that we spent on this place to go back for a show. I i have to finish my vacation. But i was going to be there for a while so he said i'll tell you what you know. We'll see if we can use you. Then i was like. Oh well i guess. I'll have to pass then. And then he said well. You know we'll wait. We'll just wait and when you get home we'll deal with it. So i was like okay so they must have really thought i was like not they were like. Oh this is a good one so then they were like yeah. She's a real loser. Let's go for it okay. So basically what ends up happening. Is i get home and the quickly put me on this rapid camera test in a dark room and then i had to take photos may came over and did like a walk through the property and all this stuff and then the house being. Yeah a house in beverly hills. Yeah sorry i tell the story a little scattered so anyway it was. It was really it was really interesting. It's like a whirlwind. Experience is how i would kind of describe it and so and so. Then they're like okay. We want you so like when the woods. The first seen you did. So i'm like i'm trying to think well okay. So here's how they pitched it to me. They said to me. You know dana right now where thinking you could be a housewife but We're not sure you know that you could be a housewife. You're sort of kind of a housewife. But you know your fiance's it really wanting to shoot that much and you know there's some difficulties around that and he's not sort of being supportive so we kinda wanna put you in this new box. The friend box And i'm like. Oh and i'd never heard of a friend before like this right so i was like okay. Alright sure that sounds cool. That's fine but i didn't know that they had also done that at the same time with brandy because none of us were told about brandy. See paul's new me. but they didn't know brandy. Oh so i was already knew these people and they knew there was no secret by brandy was like a surprise right right. So that's that's mtv for you anyway go ahead. And so what was the first thing he did. was it..

"All, right. So back to troop beverly, hills so yes, it is comprised of collection of young ladies who have money for various reasons. We kind of get like little sneak peeks into an and it is it is really weird to see a movie I think in especially right now in twenty twenty where like. All of their situations are meant to make us feel kind of bad for them on a hall of them but a lot of them most of them. Yeah. Yeah. Like. One's parents travel a lot. Say it that way. She's Her parents like are never around they? They actually they they have a trip on her birthday and there's that wonderfully delivered line where this very rich little girl stands there and goes. Monte. Carlo. They, there's another one like you said, who's who is not they're not as rich at the moment or like their their wealth is threatened perhaps because their dad can't get any acting jobs which phyllis helps them with. That's the thing you gotta know about Phyllis Nadler isn't that She's all about Altruism chur she helps him get a job as the Godfather. A movie about the. she. I I guess has a heart to heart with Chico parents about like hey, you keep leaving her and she said. I. Don't know. She makes all these parents realize error of their ways. in saves her marriage in the process, of course. She really just doesn't all. I always loved the fashion of it used to fascinate me. The fashions in this film especially once they do the So instead, they need to find creative ways to sell cookies. And one of the things they do is a fashion show. Where they take all of the Wilderness grow uniforms and Make them fabulous and I used to be obsessed with that. WAS, so. Fascinating. Yeah. I. Bet. Charlie liked that part that part and she loved the both her and Cooper dance to its cookie time Oh that's good. That's good. Damn good jam on down it's cookie. I did not realize that song and embedded itself somewhere recesses of my brain because that came out. I'm like I know every word this song but. Don't remember this movie. That and every once in a while where you're just standing there and like spacing out and then you're like. Through What am I doing is that a universal experience? You think a lot of people say isn't it? At least if you had an older sister that was obsessed with troop beverly hills and it was constantly played. It's really weird. I don't know why because other than like the story of the parents getting divorced and then getting back together there was nothing in there for me to connect to We didn't grow up rich and Beverly Hills I. I went to. My middle school was called Beverly Hills but. I did for a long time growing up I thought that song it's like Beverly Hills. That's. About that was about the middle school here because that was where I was also supposed to go to middle school and it was like, well, that's Kinda crazy. No but they did they did have we did have sweatshirts back then that said Beverly Hills to five seven five..

Because I'm a journalist and frankly a nerd I should have been way ahead of the curve on Corona virus. Think back to the thirteenth of February twenty twenty I know it feels a long time ago. Three people outside of China had died from the new virus at least as far as anyone knew at the time. Nobody in the US was thought to have died of it. Nor had anyone in my own country the UK? The virus felt very distant threat. But it wasn't. Walden. A thousand people had died in China. Not Number was rising rapidly. twenty-five countries had confirmed cases. Well respected epidemiologists had already concluded that there was little chance of stamping out these other cases quickly. The novel Corona virus was to contagious. Like the FI in the supper club it was spreading everywhere and rapidly gathering speed. And I know this because I interviewed one of those well respected epidemiologists on February, the thirteenth talk to Natalie Mcdermott of King's College London walked into a studio at the BBC. And told me the latest thinking on the new corona virus. The early data had suggested that the virus killed more than one in ten of the people at infected. Dr Mcdermott reassured me that now. It probably wasn't quite that dangerous. The best guess at the fatality rate was more like one in one hundred, maybe as low as one in two hundred. Nobody knew for sure should I just assume that everyone on the planet would get it. I asked no, she's had that was too fatalistic. But if we couldn't contain it, it was certainly infectious enough to infect a majority of the planet's population. A noted. I believed her. Even did the mental arithmetic. They might be five billion cases, and with a one in one hundred death rate that would be fifty million people around the world, dying over the course of a few months in the United States. It would be two million deaths. Lot to do with the doctors information. I did what Pastrengo resorted? His ship plowed on towards Rox. I anxiously forward. My Brow and I kept on going hoping the worst wouldn't happen. Now I don't want to exaggerate my failings. I didn't crash any oil tankers. Nobody died because of my mistakes. But I could have done better easily. I could have held off on booking my summer vacation I could have made sure. I caught up with my elderly father and stepmother, who are in high risk groups I could have sold all my shares, or at least most of them, and waited for a couple of months to see whether Dr. McDermott's grim scenario was starting to become a reality. Instead. I took some money out of savings to pay down some of my mortgage because I had gigs firmly in the diary. That would talk the savings back up again. Those gigs were canceled of course which means. I drained my savings at the worst possible moment. If a goodness sake I could at least bought an extra toilet paper. But none of this went through my mind. It wasn't that I wasn't anxious. I was anxious just like Pastrengo. Yati was anxious I was aware that was a problem. And yet. It step back, think things through intern, my anxiety into action, and perhaps you may recognize yourself in that description to. Remember the experiment by psychologists. Bib Latin John Darley. They slowly pumped smoke into rooms, containing people filling in questionnaires. Solitary subject didn't hesitate to leave and report the smoke. But groups of people stayed and stayed as the smoke thickened. Reassured by each other's passivity, those experimental subjects had done nothing. Now a decade later, the customers of the Beverly Hills Supper Club reenacting that experiment in the most terrible way. Some people moved in reaction to young. Walter Bailey's warning. He saved them. But many people were to to react lulled into complacency by the fact that others were also to slow four minutes later, the power failed, and the lights went out in the ballroom. Toxic smoke rolled in an anyone still in that room faced a dreadful challenge in getting out alive. Walter Bailey repeatedly held his breath and headed back in to drag out as many people as he could. One, hundred sixty seven people died that night. If it hadn't been for Walter Bailey, the death toll might have been many hundreds more. Bailey also survived. He's a true hero. I'd like to think that if disaster struck odd, have the courage the presence of mind of Walter Bailey. Fair I'm more like those poor unsuspecting supper club patrons enjoying that food and forward to the music, then wondering what to do and taking cues from. With social animals, we humans, we know instinctively that it's normally safe to stay with the group and to do what the group does. But not always. I hesitated to and then when I started reacting in earnest to the pandemic I found that the stock market was already plunging the pastor and toilet paper was already sold out, and there was no hope of getting masks. Governments found themselves in the same situation for much the same reason. This series I'll have more to say about what our leaders have done and failed to do, but for now let's simply note that many Western democracies found themselves in the same crazy scramble for ventilators for swap testing kids for masks and for Ganz. If, everyone had started taking action in January, while risk of pandemic was still just a risk. We'd all be in better shape now, but just as in the supper club. Before they acted. Everyone wanted to be a little more certain that there really was a problem. Amy Edmonson a professor at Harvard Business. School calls this SORTA problem ambiguous threat. The warning signs aren't completely straightforward, and the potential for harm is.

"It was from people who thought that she was awesome in a weird way. So anyway, I'm Alison fan. Okay. Tell me about the the casting of Dana Wilkie and Carlton because they were definite characters. They were great. So Dana was friends with Taylor and had been. Yeah. So so that's that was our connection to today, and they were close. Friends and Dana had appeared on camera in season one before becoming part of the extended cast is a friend in season two. And so that's that's that story. And then Carlton, I think was a client of the same facialists as one of the other house lives. I think that's backing my brain to remember how we we got the Carlton, and I think that's what it was when you had to show up to still mean in her backyard, and there were women on stripper poles. Did you ask yourself? How you fell into this television dream or did you did you worry how would play out for viewers? Well, I think the the a couple of things one is the the fun thing was that that actually is a very Beverly Hills Hollywood lifestyle. So we like that it was someone who was not at all pudding any of that on for the show, but who really live that way. And and anybody who lives in L A knows that it is is it's a place where you find someone living in a twenty million dollar mansion who host parties with strippers on poles. And so that's a real thing. I think that one of our concerns was that the audience would actually get to know Carlton beyond all of the crazy extra Noel, you know, sort of features and and wild things because wanted to make sure that they would give her a fair shake. And so that was one of the challenges is not sort of typecasting her by by some of the lifestyle features that were really over the top that of course, we really like television producers, but I think might prevent you. From digging little deeper and getting to know the real person. And so, you know, I think that was hard for her and her one year on the shell tell me about the casting of brandy Glenville was her connection to the cast brandy new Adrian through some mutual friends. And and so, and it was not terribly close to her. But they knew each other. And they had I think had if you've dinners with friends, and so that's how the touchy came into our world, something, I always wondered was is there within the show sort of the caste system. Like, I feel like Kyle is like old Hollywood old money. And then you have somebody who like brandy, for example. She's the she was the housewife of soap opera actor. So it's just like any other city in DC or New York. There's there's a sort of a hierarchy is there one that exists within Beverly Hills and within the show. Well, I think within Beverly Hills. I think. Not necessarily as much as with other cities because Hollywood is very fluid and people are up people are down. And and I don't think that it's as much based on lineage completely. So I think that it is it a little bit more open than I think other cities are I think within the show itself. We really take great pains not to give anyone any any sort of special status. And obviously people who've done the show for Weil. You know, have a certain sense of establishment. But, but we know I mean, I think that you know, we really we want everybody in the on Somboon to be valued. And we want to give everyone a fair chance to be the best that they can be and and really as lame as it sounds. We always do save that everyone is only as good as the unsolvable on the whole. And I think that that is. I think that's really true, and that could be tough obviously during production because the the shows obviously feature the ups and downs of relationships between the cast members. But I do think that it's important for everybody to feel like they are a part of the group and they're all valued..

"Me for them. Arch was just just being really cruel had inherited everything else that belong to naturally and yet he felt the need to take away some of a few things she had left Falana the question we have to ask ourselves why once this just another example of Agyei exerting his dominance dominance and he didn't stop there used before her death naturally it purchased an apartment for her mother but RJ had plans for that to rj throughout the one that Natalie had given her because he wanted it for Katie and he'd said she didn't need that big place so she we had that taken away and that was in the will that my mom would would keep that place my mom and Dad but my dad passed away my mom. was given a a monthly salary of two thousand dollars to answer. Rj's Fan Mail so she used to sit with all these photos and right RJ's name do the love she was given the photos she was given the envelope and she was given stamps camps and she would sit and write his name to an love Robert Wagner and put them in an envelope seal them up and we would have to take all those things to the post office and mail them so let's absorb this while Natalie was alive. She took care of him mother but but after she died not only took a home away that made her earn her keep by running his own personal fan club what I know from Natalie's will is that everything was left to Robert Wagner he knew that and you know she made provision for her mother and close being donated to her sister and if the the kids being taken care of by Willie Mae the nanny but all all of her assets and Natalie Wood was the frugal one not only what is the person who saved the millions shed many millions of dollars and many asset and it was all left to Wagner by now lonner understood the message that she was no longer welcome in our world but what happened next. Exclude shock is still. I got a call from an agent Lana Ruin Perkins. I'm like wow how are you how nice what's going on for reference role in Perkin's recently pasta why at the edge of ID Foale and was one of the founding partners of C. I. which is one of the most powerful full Hollywood talent agencies in the world's? We chatted superficially for a couple of minutes. He said I'm going to tell you something and tell you this because I I really like you as a person and I said what and he said stop trying to get a job in production or acting. You've been blacklisted by Robert Wagner. I said he knows that many people who give a good goddamn with our work or not said we got a child to support so I started had calling production companies this like Oh. This is what I worked as a social bruiser but I've been director of development I was. Vp them busy and I did this and this and this and this could and get a job couldn't get a job and didn't have an acting agent anymore because I had hung that up to go into production which I loved loved loved it and then I got the phone call from Rolling Perkins. I never said anything about the blacklisting because there was nothing I could do. It didn't work in the industry but I worked. I worked as a a sales girl at new the. Va furniture is furniture. I worked at a a doll shop and collectibles in sales and opened it and close the store for Adam. I worked at sprint. Guy Did a lot of things so let's get this strike. Lana Wood was also also a rising star and played a bond girl opposite sean connery in diamonds off forever and now she was a shop girl selling dolls and and mobile funds while Lana struggled to build a life for herself. Take care of her daughter and mother the unanswered questions surrounding Natalie's death fell by the wayside as she focused on simply getting by on the other hand. Dennis could not stop thinking about what happened to naturally he had to tell the truth about what he saw and he could no longer keep it a secret about a year and a half after Natalie was gone was the first time that Dennis this said to me there was foul play involved in that at least death and then it took about six months after that where he told me about the bottle smashing smashing and the arguing and that's when I started to go to work on writing and the from the minute I heard that that foul play was involved in Natalie's death. I just felt a blanket of obligation to get the truth out there. I mean Natalie deserved it on the next fatal voyage and I said you know what I think we we need to call somebody. Let's turn on the searchlight to see what you know if we can. Maybe were if we see her something because she's not here. Obviously she's not near. We now need up. There is no. We're not GONNA do that. I says well we have to look for is we're not. GonNa do that as we have to. Call somebody he's. We're not gonNA UNDO that right now. Either what's happened drinking and and think about and I'm thinking the last thing I want to do is have a drink and think about this. You you know there's a woman out there. "Potential cracks in his story had to keep Dennis in line on message and under control in an effort to do so. Rj Hollywood card and Got Dennis a job on his popular up your TV show heart-to-heart Agyei thought he could buy Dennis's silence Frank West more he was like Rj's like like right hand man and he says you need to get him to do something because it's not good him just being idle all that time he said you get him. Let's get him in the in the screen actors guild and you get him into being the extra and you get them on you. Get them on heart to heart is the benefit him because you know what if there was the benefit me. It would have been more than just a job being an extra. I mean at that time. Extra is paying seventy six dollars a day and if he was doing something benefit me he would have given me like some bit parts for something like that. You know that would have benefited me because then you would would be making some money life is TV extra wasn't working out and Dennis desperately missed the live he had previously working in and around boats so so without Jay's approval he began to do basic maintenance on the splendor but that also became a source of stress for Dennis. I felt like I was in real danger a few times in regards to Robert Wagner because I remember I recall one time when knows stranger. It came down to the dock and he's nice. He said he said you know he's gotTa be aware of what would make him say something like that and it just made my stomach. Khan and drop and then another time I got a phone call and I wish I remember the guy's name and he told me is you know you you you you better what very careful and things you say and I thought Oh my God i. I thought I think I started to think of myself. This is something you see on TV where you know somebody's getting a their their life threatened and you know my stomach just got all he really really butterflies and I thought I think is trying to tell me something here. You know as a matter of fact I kinda still still feel that way if something ever happened I'm sure they can pinpoint why it happened in and through. Did you know so I mean if something happens. It happens The day I left Dr Wagner's house he gave me a check for six thousand dollars and he said you can probably use this. Get Your own apartment and maybe see if you can start out on your own now and they left with a six thousand dollar cheque and that was like Kay Dennis. You're on your own and that's the last last we ever contacted each other. though Dennis had left Los Angeles and was now away from Agi. In the accompanying media spotlight he remained deeply scarred by the events that took place that not in nineteen ninety-one around these time Lana was also seeing first hand the Daca more domineering side of her brother-in-law aside side that had frightened her sister on more than one occasion though she had filed to speak to him at his home after the funeral Lana still wanted to make an effort to stay dying touch and remain a family. She loved Courtney. Anna Tasha wanted desperately to stay in their laws but Agyei felt out of the woods. You remember the next time that I made an attempt all of a sudden all my God. It's his birthday is coming up. You and I was worried about him being alone on his birthday because I'm an idiot blatantly idiotic calling the house and Katie Wagner answering the phone I are an and his birthday is coming in and what are we going to do and I'll take him someplace special special and and you come in the kids in the thing and and she said Oh everything's been planned all okay you don't have to worry about anything and I said Oh okay what what's going on and she. She said we're just having a party here and I said okay great what time and she literally said to me. you know it's just GonNa be. RJ's France and I said Yes yes Katie and those were also all Natalie's friends and my friends and she said well around whatever time and and I said fine putting any pride origo aside Lana would attend odd jobs birthday party with a friend at the time Allen and I went and shopped for a gift for him and we went to the House and gave him his gift. Nothing me made it very clear that I was not welcome. There and I don't know why other than okay it's tough. Death is tough and also face that so that was it we went out into the living room and I said I wanNA leave. We're just we left and what about Natalie's daughters Courtney in Asia nothing from the kids no contact nothing. That's title whole life was turned up everything they took away so I at that point started falling apart and things on the went from bad to worse when the issue of Natalie's Fawn will when testament had to be dealt with. I don't think it was until I said to Allen on day. I said I've got to go get get another pair of of black heels because mine are are shot and he said why are you doing that and he said in the in the Will Natalie's left. Did you Oliver Clothing Oliver Firs olive her you know everything and I don't remember how it is. He knew that but I I I can't go there. I can't go to the House I just. I don't know that I can deal with it and he said I'll take care of it. So he called a couple of his friends. WHO's they rented a ban and it took them eight hours to go back and forth earth and I didn't have any place to put these things I went and talked to the mandaric's I was in an apartment. It was a two double level mm-hmm but I went and talked to manager and I said can I but things in the hall 'cause Allen was saying we'll we'll buy hangers and so she said Okay and the top floor I'd opened the door to the hall racks acts of clothing out there and the bottom floor opened the door and Iraq's clothing out there and I couldn't walk to my bed. I had to step around things. My daughter's room was filled with stuff. It was it was more than an entire flirt saks fifth avenue it was it was crazy and some mm-hmm that I remember. It just got to me one day. I said I can't I don't. I don't want anything I don't know what to do. I don't know you know and he would say just pick out a couple of things that's just let's get it out so. I did that basically very few things and he arranged to have the and I honestly don't know what happened with the rest of it but I remember Jake was in the press saying how could she you have sold her sister's clothing. It's funny and I accepted the judgment. I felt badly about myself. It made me feel like how could I have done that and and then I remember back that I was raising my daughter since she was a year and a half old I never got any help. I didn't child support. I wasn't receiving alimony on your anything. I was working to take myself and the kid and I needed money every chance I could get and yet I accepted his saying those things about the because I felt like he was right but what was I supposed to do all that stuff up then all the things that he had of Natalie's he put all up for auction and sold old letters and photos and all these things that that was okay but me and trying to live that wasn't okay. Wow Okay a little double standard. There and those are the times when I become really angry. I remember Rj contacted me through his attorneys saying that he would like all her furs and I said well I'd like to keep I'd like keep one and I said okay I agree to it and he paid.

"Hello and welcome to chapter nine a fighter voyage the mysterious death of naturally. I'm your host Dylan. How the day after Natalie Wood's tragic death Robert Agi Wagga was back home in Beverly Hills as the world mourns one of the most famous and beloved actresses to grace the Silverscreen. Rj remained isolated in his mansion focused on controlling the narrative surrounding Natalie's debt flanked by he's high powered Hollywood attorney and boat Captain Dennis Devon Agyei made sure that the rule telling the same story in an effort to keep suspicion of foul play away from him in this episode. We'll hear a stunning first person is an account from Dennis who claims it. Rj held him captive under the watch of bodyguards for over a year after Natalie's death. We'll also he knew details about how he moved on and quickly with yet another famous. Hollywood actress and finally we dissect the disturbing disturbing and extreme measures that Algi took against Natalie's aren't parents and sister Lana immediately following Natalie's funeral but first. Let's begin with Denisova the morning I got a Robert Wagner's house from being picked up the Long Beach Harbor. There were a lot of people at the house. I was taking right up to Robert Wagner's bedroom where his lawyer Paul dippers was there and he told me they call me directly face to face. This is GonNa be our story. Is this well. We're GONNA say you're going to be appointed to one of our lawyers and Mrs what are stories going to be. The story was that when when Natalie went missing that she must have gone outside her stateroom 'cause the dinghy was banging against the whole boat and and she she couldn't sleep leap so she tried to retie Dane and she must have slipped and fell in the water and maybe she bumped her head ahead on the swim platform and then wants to split water. Nobody knew anything she was gone. She was missing Dennis soon. Found out that sticking to a certain story was not all that would be required of him by Jay and he's entourage Dennis was asked and agreed to stay at the Wagner Hon and thinking he would be of comfort to R. J. and the girls as well and I was to stay living at the house there was because I felt like like maybe RJ myself. We needed each other. the housekeeper. Willie mays she was very very kind fine with me at all the way before that and at that time she was you know wants to make me as comfortable as possible and you know. I guess they felt like and they they needed me to have some kind of you. Know somebody around me while the girls and all those who love Natalie were in mourning. Rj made choices that many found odd choices included a stunning new love interest. It was shortly after the funeral one. Actually it was during the funeral. Joe Saint John was there and they they did spend a lot of time together. You'll say Johnston pretty quickly. She's Monte ruling CO author of Goodbye Natalie Goodbye Splendor him. I don't know if Robert Wagner was previously having a relationship with chill Saint John Before Natalie's death but I do know that one of the first people on the scene after Natalie's death at the home was Jill Saint John and did not stop. She was scare for Natalie's wake almost every day afterward. He moved on real fast after Natalie Staff he was seeing Joe Saint John Within two weeks after Natalie Staff. Their official date for dating was Valentine's Day nineteen eighteen eighty two so that's officially ten weeks after Natalie's death which is still quite soon after losing the supposed love. It'll be your life. It's hard to place judgment on anyone's actions. After losing a loved one that moving on from the love of you live just wake softer does beg the question. Just how much did Natalie really mean to Agyei J and Jill Saint John would eventually marry on May Twenty Sixth of of Nineteen Ninety and I remain married today but I can't help it. Wanda Eve Jill like Natalie and Barbara stanwyck before her is just another a woman who are Jay has used he's on gang ironically someone who has been repeatedly accused of using Agyei and the story of Natalie's death but there is strong evidence to suggest that like Natalie Dennis too was a victim of objects it was more or less like he knew that I was in his house and he knew that I couldn't go anywhere because there was people at the front door you know because there was a lot of media out there on cannon drive off seemingly wasn't taking any chances and kept Dennis away from a Ravenous S. press who will Hungary any additional details that could help explain what had happened to nationally and as a tactic Cape Dennis happy and quiet. Jay made sure there was plenty of alcohol listen about keeping me in their house if I don't get out to anybody and start talking to anybody. That's the bottom line was yeah. I mean that's what it was and and and to wake up in the morning dentist. You WanNa have a bloody Mary yeah that sounds good afternoon. Hey here I am. I'm GONNA Beautiful House. In Beverly Hills you know from a little one bedroom being shared by two other guys in marina a dollar rate. You know it's like you know it's like wow this is really bad. Rj attempted to Mike Dennis feel like an extended vacation and and although Dennis did enjoy the perks at first he didn't take long for him to feel trapped was dennis a guest or worse a prisoner he would go to work or something. It'd be left there. I'd be left there by myself. I lay down take nap could maybe go out to the pool. You know what I mean I was. I was like I was. I was living like Oh. This is great. I'll go by the pool. I was like you know I can't go anywhere. What what am I. GonNa do like I couldn't really go anywhere. I believe I only got out of that house. A few times I mean I I was. I was starting to really feel claustrophobic. You know like at nighttime when I would go to my room. You know if I felt like I want to go downstairs or or maybe just you know just move around. I I really couldn't do that because the the first time I put my hand on the doorknob of the bedroom that I was in it was like a magnetic locks they wouldn't allow me to open the door and small TV in there and I. It was just like it was just like I was in prison. He knew that I could really go outside because there was a bodyguard on the outside of the door the revelation that Dennis was literally locked in his room inside. RJ's hone and under around the clock surveillance does seem outrageous. How could this have happened. Actually my girlfriend came a knock on the door there one time and RJ bodyguards his name was Joey Vein and she. She told him if she says she's all WanNa see dense and he says well he's he. He can't see him right now. He's he's busy. She was real spunky and became back gets. You need to see Dennis right now and that's when I told them unless you know I need to go. See my girlfriend to chill out a little bit. See my girlfriend you you know and that's why they took mayor there. When I was spending some time with their I mean we're sitting Lou Room here. Just join ourself and also the banging on the door comes. We have to go now. Let's won't Damascene. You know kind of just been here for like a half an hour this now we gotta go now you know. I said hey wait. Can you know my girlfriend got a little upset. They literally grabbed me by my neck and literally drag me by my neck down the sidewalk and threw me in their car and took me back to Wagner's house. I was like man. This is just getting to be wait too much. Dennis knew he was in trouble at the time he confided in just one person he's close friend. Marty Rulli who explains explains when he was told say nothing he went along with it but deep down he knew he he wouldn't be able to live with that. He was very afraid he he in his mind deep inside he knew what Wagner's capable of and you know he's thinking will I be next Jay was getting more desperate by the day to keep the press from finding any.
