"If you want to follow him on Twitter Kmc radio is the handle. You know, I'm there at Eric Metaxas is on and I retweet tons of Kevin stuff, Kevin, You're right in this in the weeds on it. It's wonderful to know you're out there. By the way. We had a call an audible in our two today. We have Bill Johnson. He's the head pastor at Bethel Church. He has ah, devotional out. Wonderful, wonderful preacher and, ah! The incredible profundity. I've heard him preach a few times. What profundity Very rare, but we've got him an hour to and we'll keep you on tomorrow. We've got Michele Bachmann and Dick Morris. Very excited about that. So Kevin Tio end this hour. What do you think happens this week? Do you think that we I guess we're going to see more gas lighting from from the mainstream media and the Democrats until suddenly there's some discovery as they put it. Well, I think that one thing that has to happen is that as thes legal actions go forward there, there has to be some news come out of there. Now. Later today on my own broadcast, I'll be speaking with Mayor Giuliani, who is heading up the investigative efforts for the Trump team. I'm sure that there will be a report for us. I think Pennsylvania is the main target, because if you take Pennsylvania out of Biden's column, that's 20 electoral points. And if anything else comes off Nevada, Arizona anything then Biden has not won the election, and Pennsylvania and Michigan are probably the two most Fraught with fraud states out there. Georgia a close third, but you've got a lot of questions surrounding these three states..

"Hey Dan. Yes, so it's not often that we actually get the chance to play audio from a church service. Normally it's lunatics just talking on the Internet right. oftentimes or or they have some dumb TV show like Pat Robertson mcabe right but. We're actually going to play a little bit from a very odd moment at Bethel church in Redding California. We've talked about them before. They're those yeah. They're lunatics, right? They bug their nears and. I can't remember everything that's crazy. But well what what we need to know for the purposes of this thing is that they take the idea. You know all of these. The clips that we play. We have so many people who are like the magical thinking is strong. You know they're going to. They're going to repel a hurricane or they're gonNA. You know Kenneth Copeland has made. covid nineteen a thing of the past multiple times. He has solved it. Multiple Times? These guys. Take magical thinking. To a real real interesting place. Passer Marlene got a prophetic vision right before this event, and she saw tuna prophetic act that was gonna be very very historic. One of the movies that has really touched. My heart is Lord of the rings so I encourage you. If you haven't done this in the proper order, you must put oil in your door and then go in front and repeat this with us. "Is a little more hopeful. Like tomorrow could be a better day. I love study. I don't like a study. That's like women in red are sexier like eat a Dick Shirt that one or lines actually good for you. Hit the bricks. Yeah find. This is a study that was well worth the time. Let's talk about Elizabeth Miller. She is the director of the Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. Gosh not enough words. I would give one hundred dollars to see how that typesetter fit all that on a business card. Honestly so Liz has been. Don't hold that against her. No LIZ HAS BEEN STUDYING. The unhealthy. Attitudes boys have about girls. She's been doing this twenty years and she's got some new wisdom to drop so she published some findings about a clinical trial. She ran in Jama. Pediatrics Jama. I don't know what it's doing to look it up because I didn't I liked Jama. Yeah I just went on face. Jama's all I care about it. Here's what she did so she looks. She actually studied a program that was already in progress by this nonprofit called Futures Without Violence. Cold and okay. So Futures Without Violence Developed a program called coaching boys into men and they were doing this under the watchful eye of Liz Miller Lizard Miller who is going to record all their outcomes now. I don't know if they were in collaboration or Liz's found out about this and was like Oh. Let's see what happens so it's called coaching boys into men and.

"It post made it download post mates and save with coach Shade. That is a that is a whopper and you can also get a y. You could get what I'll tell you right now. One of the silver lining in this process in this horrible covert nineteen situation. They were in great news. Everybody conversion therapy has has really slowed down. Which is the hate is ground to a celtic. That's right one of the largest churches in California and I think probably there there therefore like it would Sandra's ended. It would be one of the largest in. America is a pro conversion therapy church in the US and they have been forced to cancel the California Northern California. They've been forced to cancel all of their what they call faith healing visits to hospitals and to struggling youth and all this because of the corona virus. So they would okay. This specific church Justin Bieber loves. It's like one of those. It's called Bethel Church B. E. T. h. e. l. and it's far northern. California and reading is the city. There are a mega church and their members believe that their prayers healed the sick and that they can even raise the dead. We still lay hands kind of people exactly and so they're telling their their members to wash their hands. If you're sick stay at home that whole thing. They're canceling missionary trips. Which is Great News? Because this church is fucking psycho and they're telling your faith healers to stay away from local hospitals and that their conversion practices need to like come to a halt just so that they're not so close with everybody keep people lives. We can convert them exactly however they're not canceling their own services and those the churches congregations are sixty three hundred so it's a huge mass attendance now now because this story came out like two days ago. Who was so creepy. I know now it might be different now because the governor Newsom yes has said no gatherings of over fifty and and actually I think the CDC has recommended it but these are recommendations out of the the governor out of the gets a good look for the governor to go when intelligence. They can't do this. You know what I mean so. I think it's probably up to the church at the end of the day but they might do a legal thing at this point the right thing but if they believe in viruses I know honestly which I think they do because they're telling by the way that's a good point Erin 'cause this is when they believe in science that's right this is when they choose to believe in actual facts and when they deal with backs and numbers and and how things affect you that it's not necessarily. Maybe they still do believe that God is doing this but they also believe that if God is doing this they can prevent it l. So it's all all of a sudden the logic of air logic. It's very twisted and complicate. Ideal the idea that they can suddenly not pray this OI exactly exactly. So let's say y'all believe hand sanitizers the thing that works. How come so? We're down exactly. So one of the things they do in their missionary and even in there. I guess you'd call missionary when everything missionary. I think that people are in another country or something and I beat. They're having sex in Michigan Boring. But they do missionary work. I guess all the time off. In all of American all in California they approached Strangers Thuc offer to touch them and pray away their ailments and they do this healthcare centers healthcare centers also. Why are they allowed in? I don't know I don't know if they're like coining themselves as just candy stripers essentially you know what I mean. I'll say when my dad was at the. Va there were tons of people bringing stuff all the time. And I told the nurse I go. They my dad's going through chemo. Nobody should be in here right. Yeah of course totally suggest so one reading woman told the Sacramento Bee which is a paper of note in Sacramento That she was approached by to Bethel students in the emergency room at Mercy Medical Medical Center and they said they told her they would pray over the people there and put Jesus in their hearts and this would heal us all and we didn't need to stay at the Er and could go home so they told this lady who was waiting in the E. R. I think for her father I think it was for her father that she just could go home that everything was going to be. Go which this woman by the way. She also filed a complaint when they went up to her daughter and started touching her five-year-old daughter without permission and so she filed a complaint with the hospital and the church. Apologize For this and said we thought we did have her permission. It's like well. She's five so really. You should have my permission to go up to my daughter in touch or maybe the daughter might have been sick but yeah touch the daughter without without permission really horrible so I guess also fuck off. You think anybody who's religious and thinks that they have the healing power of God. Aren't you insulting your own religion by believing that you're touting that you have those powers that's not? That's not the humble follower of Jesus that I would imagine you know going out there and say in raising the dead who wants to do. In December December fourteenth hundreds of church members gathered to attempt to resurrect a two year old named olive and they chanted and singing come alive come alive come alive dry bones awake. Arise inhale the lights and thousands of playbook honestly thousands of people from the church community from that church community post on instagram. But the Hashtag wake up olive. Can you imagine where is she sleeping? This member of their church or random. No this was like a member of their church. I'm yes then make up all of yeah. There's something called the school of supernatural mystery. That is part of the BETHEL. Find for a second I know. So they there's that ministry moved. One of the students moved to Washington to start a dead raising team that would work with members of the local fire department to pray over bodies found on emergency calls. There's also a streaming service called BETHEL DOT TV that sells like dead raising products including up. Erroll which is. Why don't know and yet t-shirts also after a night of drinking together there. This might have been there. Was this suspected actual murder involved in this because a two thousand in two thousand ten reading men became paralyzed after he was either pushed or fell off a cliff above the Sacramento River by two members of the School of Supernatural Ministry. After night of drinking because rather than called authorities. The students who believed he died jumped in the river and attempted to reach him in case instead of calling authorities to try and raise him from the dead. They spent hours unsuccessfully trying to ford the river and find go through bushes and all of this stuff. They finely notified authorities after hours when they found the unconscious man. This guy live but he was paralyzed because of basically neglect today. An investigator police investigated the incident as a possible murder attempts but ultimately no charges were filed. Which by the way leads to my next thing and really goes into how religion the power of religion and you can even look at this in terms of any religion including if you wanNA call scientology religion. I don't know if people do but this is. This is how this is how far the sort of reaches to these things. So in two thousand eleven the city of writing was nearly forced to close it civic center from a lack from a lack of funds guests who saved them. Why do they have all this money? The BETHEL church and so now the Civic Center receives seven hundred and fifty thousand dollars a year from the church okay so the city essentially at least they civic center which is the city. Property is beholden to this church. Now so probably they're not gonNA get investigated for a murder attempt. Dude I mean they'd has interest in it it is. How are these people not a are just now coming to light? It's unbelievable and it's really like you said earlier. It shocking that conversion therapy is something that has no science-based backing nothing. Nothing about it is science based and is actually called according to Pink News. Who Pink News in the Sacramento Bee? Were the two who've really went in on a deep dive on this church. They they they said that you know. Everyone has debunked conversion therapy as pseudoscience but now as we said before Bethel is practicing. Why is it not as angle is? California is New York the only state that that has made it. Tolbert New Jersey. It's I don't know I don't know maybe I'm not sure if it's legal or illegal in California and I don't know what the loopholes are in New Jersey. It is for sure there's a couple of seats raised for sure in California degree more couldn't agree more So they also Bethel church also sort of went viral recently after an instagram post of they shared a story at a lesbian who quote unquote became heterosexual after Christian doctrine from the church and she said I pursued pastoral. Care and counseling address. My childhood hurts and perception. I acknowledged that I had rejected myself as a woman. I did not specifically seek changing my sexuality. Nevertheless I began experiencing changes in my desires. I became attracted to a man which was one of the most unexpected and humiliating experiences. My Life's inside so fully identified as a lesbian. He and I got married today. I'm happy joyful joyful and feminine. All things I never was while living the lesbian I'm no longer sexually attracted to women. Rather I am a strong advocate for their empowerment. So really twisting words for what? The empowerment of women is and. I guess sort of suggesting that lesbians are female exactly that that's part of toxic masculinity or the perception that masculinity is toxic. I guess so what happens when I prance. Ruby rose outside of her house. I know honestly so I will say this. While and this is pink. News is point while the virus is horrible. For All those involved and these are their words at least we can be grateful that it's gotten this sorry bunch out of hospitals for awhile truth. I mean talk about a wakeup call on so many levels drooping people like even knowing that these organ and I have to say until you read this. I didn't realize how many people go in and out of hospitals who are not necessary who are not either family and you think about this too. It's like so you're letting in whatever you call it. They call themselves Evangelical Pentecostal. Yes I think all those things you let someone come and lay hands on sick people but you but some states won't let a gay marriage is legal now but think about it like they've always been leading but you wouldn't let a husband come in and see his sick husband or wife come in and see her sick wife. Yeah it's Craz. That's the thing you weren't allowed allowing all of this is protected. That's the crazy thing. Do you know what I mean like. I'm ready for religion to be. You'RE GONNA start paying taxes you're in the. Nfl are going to start. Exactly all evangelical this point forward if you're if you believe that you might get sick from Kovic Nineteen Which is science. And fact based and that God isn't necessarily GonNa save you from this. I mean listen. You can pray for it and all that. But you're also taking measures juryman. You're not infallible. Then you also need to start believing the climate.

"Well. Well well look what we have here. The person I've ever met honey. You could eat off me well. Let's do this. Struggle has been real in that one of the things I was like. I got it all down. I've got all the grains. I need all the beans. I need sure ready. Yeah I got cough syrup. I don't ever thermometer which was a real problem and I realized how to prepare. I was and then I read. You gotta take a shower every day. I thought this was going to be the one time when I was going to be able to be a real piece of shit. Go Rogue. Yeah Nope NOPE got also. This is a Canadian Rosa. This shower but by have hair. And it's like having a very different for for people with long. So my my pbs. Well those longest of all you know what they say domain. The carpets are the drapes. As long as the carpets. That is that the expression takes me a long time to dry off. Gosh rancher out actually wasn't going to rant rave and just say like I don't know just yeah I would say just like you know. Do all the things obviously. But this is a real. Wash your hands. Don't touch your face all that stuff. Which is the best thing to do and social distancing but I would say this is a real opportunity and I think people are for thinking outside of yourself and for not being we not mean exactly for not being completely selfish and it just checking on people who and again not. Do you need anything. But I'm going to bring you this or like you know what I mean. That really is a nice thing. If you have a good relationship with your parents or grandparents should call them every day and see how they're doing And also if you if you know someone who you think might be struggling you should just say like Hey. I have some frozen food. Why don't you come over and get some or Hey. I have this extra stuff. Maybe I bought too much please. Can I give you this? Next door is a whole different world right now. Oh it is loving plays you know plays where people can act missing opera gloves. No no more scared of people looking in cars. There's a homeless person sleeping on the street hair. To how dare they race? It is truly people coming together and that will rise to the occasion fucking. Forget that when this is all over totally agree this has to if this doesn't change humanity. I'M OUT YEAH. This is a real. I mean this is a real lake told we are the world situation like everyone is in this extent together like we are the robot from six feet complete six feet six feet under. We are the world with some of sixty two parts. Sixty apart yeah. I don't know if you're doing like if you're a cheerleader. And you want to keep practicing. It might be six feet under probably the best place to be the safest place to be six feet under water of your main take a. I don't know how big your lasts but that would be very seven minutes. Yeah I will also say if you're in America still you're not. There's a difference between being a distant and being quarantined and being isolated. And you shouldn't be isolated. You should go on a hike. Fresh Ariza virus free zone. It's the best thing you can do. And also it's a opportunity to to take a deep breath. Also the big restriction I placed on myself. I look at Corona News now at high noon. And that's it. It will not affect my morning and it will not affect my evening. It's important to stay informed. It's not important to become addicted and I'll tell you this. Kinda Shit is and this might sound like the wrong word. But it's thrilling. People get addicted to this sort of news. Do you know what I mean. It's a real life. Disaster People love watching it or reading about it but it does whether it's thrilling or not. It certainly affects you and I think I don't know I think. Just sort of like meditating inside. La Dot com is the one I use guided meditations and I really like it. Noga were townhall DOT com. So they're they're yoga. Classes are now free streaming online training mates if you have not been to. La Cases. Says I would also say and hopefully this is coming evictions obviously need to stop and mortgage payments need to stop all this stuff needs to freeze because this is like with everything else in this country the people who are disproportionately affected are those with lower incomes and all of a sudden the class system kicks into high gear the classes in but I I think feeling that upper middle class people middle class people are going to get a real taste of what it's like because it's going to affect everyone even those of us. I'm definitely vote boat. Who get real cocky but are basically living month-by-month exactly and if you don't have a big big amount of savings and you and you're supporting for people like I am right now. It's fucking scary. Man and again I would also say like if you're if you know someone who's struggling reach out if your struggling you reach out to a friend day will want to help I promise. They want better way. That includes me. I like people want to help you and you should let them and you should let them and by the way no one ever thinks that stuff goes on returner notice but I will say like stiff upper lip this and I the UK needs to get the fuck together. They're the ones with stiff upper lip as always just going out and going to gals and going to weddings and stuff. Like nothing's wrong exactly. But this is a real opportunity to be kind to each other and and we're GONNA make it. We're GONNA get through it. It's obvious it's going to happen. We have to be vigilant for a little. While and a lot of this stuff is maybe stuff we should have been doing anyway. But especially the whole part about capitalism not being the fucking driving force in this world capitalism does not care about you and when we have a situation here and people aren't aren't able to not pay rent or their mortgages or their car payments and stuff shit stop and if you think the banks can't make that happen in the fucking snapped and we're absolutely wrong. They control it. They can stop it and it's right at the end of the day if you if you can stop all that stuff who is losing the banks. Everybody's Fine Yup Yup. I'll tell you this. I don't know what people are really cold weather. We're going to do because they can't go outside and take a walk he do. You do what people are doing. You ride your bicycle inside. Well how big is your place after. This is a one bedroom apartment in Palermo. What are you talking about? They're just riding bikes from room to riding bikes. It's a circular. There's a hallway that connects the living room in the bedroom. And just ride. And his bride and his touring bike around in the living room. Wow I mean here's the thing. Remember being a kid you can do high cakes. See You can do you. Can do a car willis in the studio apartment. You can do twenty five car wheels. You know we should do is sit on your wall or whatever the you know what I mean being anti style. Yeah well but a wall set. Oh Yeah Oh yeah so you push back against the up and down exactly and by the way this is also a chance to move in and out of panicking. Which by the way. I'll tell you this your worst decisions. Coupling you're in panic boat do just are so. That's when they come so just do watch something read something else. I REACH OUT FOR HELP. Reach out for help so that you can calm yourself if you need it. People want to help a yeah and take take the moment to do a face mask honey to. Do you know what I'd novel. I'm not even joking. I have the artist's way did it. Here's your Tuesday. Read a novel that has nothing to do with the novel Corona Virus. No I just read the best book. It's very dark but it's also very funny called my your rest and relaxation. Just bought it on as it sounds good. I don't know if you're GONNA like it I'm Jerry. Oh you're the second person in the last two weeks recommended it. It's incredible. It's I I have not. I'll be honest. I have not like anything this author has written and my friend and Stephanie was like I promise. You'll love this one and I was like okay. I'll give it a try because she writes a very dark place and her narrators are very unlikable. They're very really bad people really so it's very hard to sort of. Yes yes she Dutch she isn't she's a Orion and I think Irish or something But she she goes. She started writing when she was like at an all time. Low Depression and so her. Her books are very funny but they come from a place of like and this was the first time I was able to tap into the narrator being a bad person but also someone who wanted to hear more from was the other ones for me had just been like. I don't like you at all and this. This character is completely unlikeable. But you're curious about more than any others but that's why I'm wondering if you like it or not because you too bad. Well I do like I like really. I understand that the world is very very very great. I like escapism. I like black and white. That's why I'm curious to see what you'll think but I thought it was excellent actually. I'm reading the Glass Castle right now. Have you read this book? No is that the one where it's game. It's game of thrones. Sorry eight so people know of it. As game of thrones. Yeah but it's also called. The Glass Castle is that with like searcy. Cinderella going through menopause. Yeah she's got her stick slipper. She had her slipper now. She's got her dream. She built her dream on coldest. Act Fast Castle. She's drying up glass everywhere. It's about this woman who is like a gossip columnist in New York and the first the first chapter tells you everything and then you go back. But essentially she's got off to a gal she's living in upper upper west side and she sees her mom digging trash out of the dumpster. Her parents are homeless. And so you find out that she grew up in this destitute situation and it does lie in the gray area net like. She's a privileged woman who turned her back to that kind of thing she grew up in abject poverty and her parents were bananas and really. Chiquita's stray from now that's historic hard. Talk to make money. I don't have is you don't have hand. I know you've no skills. Your skill is being eaten. And then you're gone exactly and sitting at Banana Hammock and that's about it that's about it she Parents are what kind of nutty. But they're like nutty in that way that people were after World War. Two where you're just like fuck it. I'm burning down and you see how crazy her upbringing. Wise and yet how great it was and gave her the tools for who she became. But it's but it's not a child should live. Yeah right like her. Parents taught her never to judge anybody that there's no such thing as the racism is wrong and classism is wrong and all this stuff and yet she was. She was allowed to cook her own hotdogs at three years old and boiling water and then like had to go to the hospital. Get Skin grafts. Because she's buildings all over so you that is. Yeah okay. There's a lot going on. Earth does a fantastic and talk about someone who's just put things on the pages if it's not a big deal. Yeah it's very it takes is jarring because you're like wait a minute. You're literally burned alive by a hotdog. Yeah hot dog water. And you're just like there's just a regular everyday life and in my family. I did want to say this. We've been getting a lot of requests for a special groceries episode. I am curious actually and I'll put this on the also. I'm curious to know what people's in this panic buying. What is the food? You never thought you'd buy that. You ended up with Anna chips as a exactly which couldn't be worse for your teeth or your body..

Yeah and here in just in the last few weeks as of this recording you know the the whole Bethel thing with that little girl all of Who died girl? The girl is all over the news where yeah girl at a church. She is and the people in this church. Bethel basically was one of the leaders who said. Let's pray for her that God would raise her from the dead. Yeah so I'm sure you were following. That story what happened there. Yeah this little girl Two years old or so tragically died the girl. Little Girl's mother Callie. I I think I'm saying this right highly. Gall was there last night but Kelly is one of the lead singers on in Bethel music that comes Bethel Church Bethel music so wildly popular these. Yeah and Beth Laura in Redding California okay. So she's one of the leading singers and Bethel music and so since he was kind of in a place of leadership in the church. You know this became a big deal. Her their little toddler little girl died so they started having a series of meetings where they were literally Eddy. They were they. Were not just asking God to raise little olive from the dead. They were actually commanding. All live to come up out of the graving. See this on Youtube video of it. They have this chant. Olive come out of the grave. Come out of the grave in Jesus Name Olive Come. Out of the grave. They're literally it's they weren't humbly asking that I mean he resigned. Twenty-seven pointing man wants to dine in your judgment. If somebody dies I I've never asked God to raise anybody from the death. Yeah you just believe God's word you just believe is already trust in his providence and sovereignty.

"But this is in service of a bigger plan and bigger purpose. And so does that kind of help illustrate it? Just love that story. Because I think a lot of times were called to the opposite of who. We are the first example that comes to my mind is when God comes to Moses and says, hey, I want you to go speak to the people. I'm sorry, go speak to barrow. And he's like why can't I stutter and like we come up with these excuses. And in fact, I mean, it's now head you've been like say, a high D driven type woman. Yeah. Like in in the natural. It would make sense the problem with that is is it would feed your ego, and it would feed your flesh. Yes. God was calling you to do something in your flesh. That was opposite of who you kind of were. Yeah. And that's the beauty of it. Because you were doing something that wasn't natural to use. Oh, it wasn't like there was a motive to be like, I'm a woman I'm gonna step in. This is my place like it came from very humble place. To say this isn't right in this is what God's doing. And that's what I love. Yeah. Man. You're really astute. You more than any other interviewer that I've ever interviewed with you are like right there with me like you get it. And you're able to draw out of my story like the the main points, you know, so that hopefully other people who are listening can look at their own life and see how God works in their particular circumstances in their particular personality and all of that. I learned from people's mistakes and forcibly a lot of my own like I can sit back and say, oh that was really painful. I don't wanna do that again. Yeah. But what I love about your story, though, is specially in western society is because of the way women are viewed in church recently, if you'll if you look him up in promote hasn't been on our show yet. But it's Chris Valetyn out of Bethel church, and he wrote a book called destined to reign in its in its really, he's an advocate for women. Basically just say like not just they have a place. But man, they are the other half of God in men or the other half in when we come together. We're getting the fullness of who Christ is there isn't like one above the other. This is Lincoln fullness of God in and then I think women need to hear that. And especially man, especially if you have a wrong viewpoint of women. And if a woman has the wrong viewpoint of herself she needs to. Hear that because they need to step in because we need more God centered women leading. That's right. Yeah. I really appreciate you saying that, you know, my story is not welcomed in some settings. And I'm sure not. Not when I when I get on these casts. I'm like I had not sure where the hosts is coming from. I'm not sure how they're going to, you know, read or hear my story, and I'm just so pleased that you get it. And it's and that's exactly what I was learning along the way as I was struggling to say, yes to God in these ways that God was calling me to stand up straight and to move into places of quality and various other ways of putting myself out there..

"Taxes show. I'm talking this hour with Chris Valetyn who's the author of poverty, riches and wealth moving from a life of lack into true kingdom abundance. Chris I mentioned. At the beginning at you are one of the main pastors at Bethel church in Redding, California, and we were just talking about the fires that have been going on there. You're the co founder of the Bethel school of supernatural ministry. You've written many books now this book as soon as you read a tie, poverty, riches and wealth moving from a life of lacking the kingdom of bone is a lot of people right away think like that is prosperity gospel. That is name it and claim it dot owes me Cadillac in three houses. And so what do you say to those people? Well, I would say that I hate that message as much as anybody in the church, and I think that sometimes when we react to a bad message. Sometimes we do reaction creates worse doctrine than what we're reacting to correct. So I think we should be careful not just on this subject. But I think I watched you know, I've been a Christian since I was eighteen years old sixty three. So it's been a while. And I've watched church do this. I'm sure you have to Eric where somebody preaches something it to an extreme. And then we run away from that and treat another extreme, right? That's right. It's there's a healthy way to actually take on every subject. And I think there is a balance in every subject, and I also believe that all truth is held intention. So, you know, if you if you if you read through the bible, you see that some people would say the bible contradicts itself. I would say that the bible Auchan shares to extremes and the only way we know which one to embrace in our life at the time is is by the Holy Spirit. So I think that you had a message been abused. And that's a great reason to bright book about the truth about, poverty, riches, and wealth. I agree. And I think what happens one of the the overreactions to the name it and claim it prosperity gospel is to somehow make an idol of poverty, will you make it sound like having anything is worldly having any kind of riches is worldly Jesus didn't have anything. Therefore, I shouldn't have anything in any think. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Is that right? I mean, if you have money, you can help people who need money, if you have health, you can help people who don't have health if you have freedom, you can help people who don't have freedom. God gives us these gifts for his purposes. Not. Just to heat wealth onto us. But the whole point is whatever he gives us his for his purposes, but to say, I don't want any of that stuff. I'd rather be poor and sick. And so people make doctrines out of this. And and you're right. That is it's as unbearable as making a doctrine that God owes me a mansion and a yacht. Yeah. I think you know, a few things that you know, we have to think about in a little bit funny here. But you know, if you don't like wealth, you're not gonna like heaven because God describes you know heaven is gold streets, Pearl gates precious. But isn't that just as heaven's filled with those hypocrite Christians? I would never want to go to a place like that you can drink beer and have a good time. And. People who have tattoos and stuff. Yeah. Stupid kinda funny. You say that. So you're you're saying that heaven is going to be so wonderful, and to some extent our lives on this earth can reflect and that doesn't mean finances, but the point is there's a connection. So tell us about that. Well, my point would be list. Let's say I I'm talking about is wealth inherently evil is wealth inherently evil because there are a lot of people who actually would teach that that money is the root of all evil. That's not what the bible says is it. No, no. The love of money is the root of all sorts of evil, not all evil, and it's the love of money. And so think about this. If if wealth was inherently bad inherently, bad inherently evil would Jesus say, you know, would Jesus say something like well heavens going to be you know, it's gonna be like opium fields of marijuana gardens. What most of us would think know that those things aren't inherently good for you. Do you know if wealth was inherently bad, and then the challenge you just mentioned a second ago? You know, people are like Jesus was poor. I'm like, okay. Well, Paul does make a statement that Jesus became poor. So that we could become rich. And and what does what does poor meet in the days of Christ? Because you think about this. You know, we're talking about agricultural fishing, agriculture basic, the basic industry of the day and Jesus makes wine from water in thirty seconds. So think about all the things he circumvented. There was no planting of the vines. There was no there's no picking grapes. There was no crushing the grapes. There's no fermenting and the wind makes is better than anyone's ever tasted. So if Jesus could make wine from water Jesus is not poor. And then Mary's the one his mother said to Jesus the route of wine. What does that have to do with me? And my question would be because that was Jesus first public ministry. How did marry know that Jesus could make wine unless Jesus was doing it at home? See? That's funny. I never would have thought of that. I'm not sure I would agree with that. That sounds very very interesting. Maybe he was pulling this all the time. She's like, we only have water, and he's like, well, I think mom, I can fix that. We only got his bologna and this stale bread. Mom, I got it. I I don't know. All I know is that when Jesus turns water into wine, it is a picture of abundance. The idea that he didn't say I mean, the guy that a lot of these people. See no wanna worship is the kind of guy that would say outline tastes too good might be alcoholic. Now, we really should be drinking. We should be drinking week t. Beat Christian does not tell you does. It not does not demonstrate the nature of a God who loves to have fun at a wedding. And here's a here's another one, Eric you'll love this one. I'm sure you probably thought about it. The boys are on our our fishing, right? This is what they do for a living. They're not sport fishing. They're fishing for a living. This happened at least twice Jesus walks out on the shore. And he's like, hey, guys. Caught anything, you know, that's a very common fishermen talking to other fishermen Hayes. Right. You guys caught fish, and they yell. No, no fish, and Jesus says to take your net and cast it on the other side Dom thinking like, you know, the boys already said, hey, we'd been fishing all night. I'm thinking fished all night, you probably fish both sides of the boat, especially if you've got nothing, right. Well, they catch so many fish it starts to sink the freaking boat. Right. An empty call for their competitors. Come over to help them, right? As soon as they soon as soon as the the nets are so full of fish that is about sinking the boat. John turns to Peter and says, I think that's the Lord they don't recognize. It's the Lord until they catch so many fish. It's almost it's almost sinking their boat, and my point is can you imagine if they caught three minnows hey catcher net on the other side of the boat. And they kept three men and they go, oh that must be the Lord. He's so frugal. Well, and actually this is no joke. I heard my pastor preached on this a few weeks ago, and the the initial place with this happens is in Luke five and they have barely begun their ministry. And that's when Jesus says, I'll make you Fisher of man. But what's so interesting to me is that this happens at the beginning of his ministry. He says cast because they've pushed out from the shore. And they they catch so many fish that it's sinking the boats. They don't know what to do. And then three years. Later. Jesus crucified. He he is risen from the dead. He's appearing the disciples. Whether in one day, they're out in John twenty one they're fishing out there. They're sorta despondent. What do we go from here? And some guy in the shores has hey casts. Your nets out of the boat, and they do it and they catch one hundred fifty three fish. And it seems to me that the reason they knew it was Jesus was because he had done it three years before. It's kind of like they realize this is the God who does this and blesses he overwhelms us with blessing. He loves us so much. We can't even take it. And that's who he is. When we come back. We're going to continue this conversation with Chris Valentine book is poverty, riches and wealth moving from a life of lack in Detroit kingdom abundance. I think before actually Chris before we go. I have to mention something alliance defending freedom. Folks, we're doing a raise with them right now. This is very important. If you do not mind though to my taxes, talk dot com. Alliance defending freedom is fighting for our religious liberty. This is so important to me. I don't want to forget to mention it. I will give you the number later on. But if you just go to Metaxas talk dot com, as you know in Washington state, they sued the state sued Baranov Stutzman is a woman who has a florist shop and because she didn't want to create flower arrangements for same sex marriage. "Learn about events and more AM 970amtheansweRcom. Eric metaxas. AM nine seventy the answer. You know years ago, Eric, and I were close very close. I remember that one summer we shaved each other's backs. But over the years somehow shadow has fallen over our friendship, and now the two of us about the Harrisons of guns. You can imagine the human sweater. Access. So sweet. Todd can be sweet one eight when he really wants to folks. This is the Akron taxes show on this show. You know, this is the show about everything. So you do not know to whom I will be talking about what I will be talking one thing. I hope is that it's entertaining and informative. And if I fail you in that, please let me know today. I don't think we can fail in that. Because I'm talking to an old friend Chris Valetyn who is with a very famous church in Redding, California. It's the Bethel church. I had the privilege of speaking their few years ago. It was very hot. But fortunately, they had air conditioning in the sanctuary. Chris Valetyn, welcome to the program. Thank you very much. Love your introduction about the Harry back thing, isn't it? Beautiful. It's touching Todd. And I really we work close. You know, his his uncle is David Wilkerson of Times Square church. You know, famous Dave walks and crossing the switchblade, and we became friends, and we really were so close that shaving each other's backs was just a it was just something we did as friends and yet. Something happened to cloud fell between us and now, you know, we're we're on our own with the back stuff. But listen, we've got we've gotta talk about something a little bit more serious view. First of all, you've got a new book out called, poverty, riches, and wealth. It's moving from a life of lack into true kingdom abundance. This is obviously name name it and claim it prosperity gospel. John John can I want to challenge you on that when we come back? But before we get into that before we get into that seriously now I- blurb the book. So obviously, I don't think that, but I want to ask you about that. But but before we get to that you guys in in Bethel, California in Redding, California have had horrific. Fires those of us on the east coast where we're not tuning into this. But can you tell us what what happened because this is your you guys are in northern California your way up there, tell us these are some of the worst fires that ever happened. So so if you don't mind add love people to hear about this because people have heard about about Bethel church, and Redding, California, and the a lot of people know about the music and the prophecy and stuff, but people don't know what you've been through. So tell us if you would. Yeah, we've been through we've. Tend to help actually seventh worst fire. I think in the United States third worst in California, built just burnt thousands and thousands of thousands of acres. Thirty eight percent of our of our residents in in reading were evacuated. Eleven hundred people lost their homes, that's not including businesses and structures. And so it was is quite devastating. The fires pretty much been out for probably about a week and a half two weeks. So are sky was full of smoke. Everybody's yard was full of ash. It was it was pretty horrific. And we, you know, our city our city interesting. I was in DC at the time. The fire started my wife, and my all my kids evacuated to another location. In the midst of it. The Lord said to me, remember, I I you I set you up for this time sixty one one thousand four has been my versus, you know, from probably lots of other people's too. But I stole them awhile back when I first became a believer in you know, he wants to give us beauty for ashes. So literally we have ashes and literally the Lord Stevens beauty. And so we in to restore recovery stage right now. Getting back to normal. We raised a two point one million dollars to give to people who have lost everything in the fire. So we've been distributing the money lots of other people in our city, also helping and we're now in the in the rebuilding of of home process, and it will probably a couple years. So thanks for asking. And thanks for carried up died. I mean, I didn't know about it until Elissalde barris my chief of staff here. She told me that I thought. Wow. I mean, I heard about these fires. But and I guess it sounds like there was some miraculously for some homes or or sanctuaries were untouched. Tell tell us about that. Because. Hear these kind of crazy stories kind of a catch twenty two and telling those stories because I was in a gym the other day. With a bunch of guys playing basketball. And I just spoken to one man who had lost his house, and we had aided him and giving him some made a man who's in the seventies. And the guy and he's not he wasn't. He's not a believer. It's not a follower of Jesus. But really good God known for a long time. And so I was just finishing comforting him. And one of my one of my other guys came up who we play basketball within he said God miraculously spared. My house my whole neighborhood, burn. And only my house wasn't touched. And you know, it was in the hearing of the of my other friend who just lost his house. And so, you know, it's it's a little it's a little tough to kinda. It's so fresh, you know, when you say God's spirit my house, which is like we we've heard so many stories God sparing houses at the same time. You know, there are other houses we weren't spared. Really good people. So it's always difficult are police walked his house the first four hours of the flyers one of the first houses to burn. Great guy loves God. So you know, what? Yeah. Go ahead. I guess my question is, you know, when we say God did this or God did that we understand that? Sometimes it looks like God did something and other times it looks more random right now if immediately or does not hit my house, but it's the neighbor's house. I'm sale. God spared me. But yeah, I mean, it's not like hundreds of meters rain down. And I'm the only one who wasn't killed. So we have to have to look at it in the natural. But I guess my question is there are times when something does look miraculous. And I think we have to be honest about that, we're not saying why God does this does that were there times when something looks miraculous. And it sounds to me like some of what you guys experienced. Did look miraculous. It's an example of that. It's absolutely. Here's one example. I one of the powerful stories is an older couple in their home. The crazy thing that happened. Eric is that the fire turned into a fire tornado it moved two hundred fifty eight miles an hour. And so they started evacuating like normal. No normal, you know, procedure normal, and then all of a sudden this tornado started moving, so they they started rushing through the neighborhoods that police and fire were like with, you know, and and just yelling, you know, get out of houses knocking on doors, get le-, go. And so that created this. You can imagine the streets were backed up to you couldn't even see tempting there was so much smoke and fire. And so people were literally rushing running from their homes because of this the way the speed of the tornado actually changed the frequency of the evacuations and there was one older couple. I heard about this a couple of weeks ago. So they so they got in their in their car and they begin to drive quickly out of their neighborhood only one way out of their neighborhood and just got to the the exit of their neighborhood, a huge tree fell in front of them. And it caught the whole road on fire, which was so common. What was happening? They got out of their car with with their little dog. And they just started running. They didn't even know whether right just away from the fire, which is basically surrounded their neighborhood a guy in a truck with his family. Full drive truck pulled up and say get in the truck. So they got an a truck and they began to just blaze a trail through the through the forest where there was no roads. And then all of a sudden their truck was engulfed in flames. There were like we're we're gonna die and just in a helicopter flew over dumped a huge bucket of water. You know, these big they are five hundred gallons or. Yeah. Dropped it right on their truck. Lowered. The bucket down picked him up the dog jumped out and ended up dead, but then saved them. And so just crazy stuff like that. We're hearing all the time when gosh. Yeah. This is I mean, if it doesn't happen to you, it just sounds like something that can happen to you. And then it happened. So I just now I wanted to start there. Just because this is a terrible thing. So many people have experienced this kind of thing. And I know you guys have have been through it. And by the time, you've been helping a lot of people in the midst of this. And that's one of the joys of serving God. He just you just get to to step up when we come back, folks, I'm talking to Chris Valetyn. He is the author of a new book, poverty, riches and wealth moving from a life of lack into true kingdom abundance. We'll ask him what he means by that. When we come back Sierra taxes show. "Let's say a development that one hundred thirty one units if one unit were sold to a black the fha wouldn't really really you can read my book is not meant to be a technical or an you know a book that is it's it's definitely heavily researched but it's not like something like color law and in fact so the what is your family have to do with all of this that's the book the book is a lot about my family my grandparents settled in west garfield park in nineteen twelve and i sold my mom's to flat after she died in one thousand nine hundred five so we had a presence in west garfield park basically the entire twentieth century so what i was trying to do is tell the story of my parents and their devotion to property my my grandfather is an immigrant had been janitor and even my father had a college education he was just devoted to this kind of property care so they had put a tremendous amount of personal effort i mean they didn't hire anything everything they did themselves into beautifying their home and actually make it into a rooming house which was really illegal but they did anyway and and so there they were very invested in the neighborhood and bethel church which out of which came bethel new life if you know that community organization was my family church at westhampton keillor so the whole neighborhood you know we were invested in the whole neighborhood and then when the first african american family moved onto our block in june of nineteen sixty three they didn't don't quite what to do my mom kept a diary of all this that's what's really fascinating as i have all these diaries and letters from the whole twentieth century thousands of pages upon which are based this book your parents were such great takers have journals i mean not just about real estate too by the way about you about each other.
