Cross has nothing so they don't really want to make him lose. So I guess we're going to kill mad cat monster Elimination Chamber, but I was like, that's like a kick-off match. That's not even at the chamber. I thought it was. No? Go home show. This is just going to nerf them. And nobody cares about mad cat moss. What a terrible induced SmackDown. Ridiculous. First match since we're on the subject. Of the chamber edge Beth Phoenix versus the Judgment Day Finn Balor Ripley. I'll get my prediction then Cole, you can give yours. Again, simple the match doesn't have to be too long. I think ria has to look strong throughout, shout out to the dudes at what culture, who have a really off the wall, but cool prediction, where it's like, you know what? Rhea has to look the strongest after this, figure out Finn and edge after. But reassured riptide edge advantage. And I was like, but that kind of sucks for edge going into mania. So I don't think you can really do that. But I don't need any cheating or anything else. I think Rhea just really has to beat the shit out of Beth Phoenix distract edge and Finn has to win, but like really on some wild concerto edge type shit, tried to end edge after it. I need three of the 19 13s. I need the coup de grace. I need all that shit. I need him to pin him and then still now Rhea has to watch edge get the concerto and be like, oh my God, it's kind of like the role reversal and Finn do to edge what Rhea did to Beth. And then you got to get that blood feud heat. Cool. Yeah, I think this is tough because I think I always envision this as being what they were going to lead up to to mania and then obviously Rhea winning the rumble kind of changed all that. So now it's kind of like this was supposed to be a really big personal feud and now we're kind of doing it here before ria has to take care of like bigger business. So it kind of puts this match in a weird spot. I'm of the mind that Judgment Day has to get some W's here. So yeah, I think that ending could very well come true where it's edge kind of taking more of the brunt whereas Beth kind of took the brunt of it at extreme rules. So really, I just want to see Finn come out to virtual insanity. That's really all I want. So how do we make that work? Wow. Have you made it? Sorry. Make this match messy. And what I mean by that is, I need some dominate Mysterio interference, and I need ready to come back in this match. I think the best thing you can do is make this as messy as possible without giving us too much of edge and fin, if that's what we're going to do at mania. So if we get a ray run in and the Dominic run in and everybody's just doing crazy shit and then the end of the match is messy, you can go back to edge and fin and be like, they didn't really finish their business. You kind of clearly protect Rhea, I mean, I don't know if Beth's still east to pin, but make this shit messy. I don't want this to be like your typical intergender tag match was like, tag the girl and the girls I'm going to fight each other. I just want this to be messy as hell. That's what I want. But it should lose again and then I don't know it has to be some kind of stipulation. There has to be him and Finn just can't have a match. No. It has to be something else. It's weird because I don't know because Damian priest clearly wouldn't eliminate chamber. What does that leave him? I don't know. But Dominic has interfered on behalf of Rhea and ray should come back because we got to start a table setting for Dominic array. So make it messy, have Finn and rear win and maybe edge takes the pen. I don't know. We got to figure out how to get there. But then again, I don't want edge to win that mania. It's a weird thing. Is this a lot of moving parts here? This is the one few that was really hot. And then cooled off and it's like, now they got to figure it out because you got a lot of other stories that have built a lot more momentum. Like holt said Rhea moved on to bigger things. So a cool this off because it's like Beth is a speed bump. You don't know where we're going. "Maria is about to chase Charlotte. And Rhea is very over. I don't know what Finn is right now. It's very weird what he is. Because it doesn't feel heal enough, Damian priest is in this limitation. And we're all like, you're not gonna win. No. And I need Dominic while this has been fun. I'm with you guys, and I think it's funny. And I think it's very fun. And I think they leaned into it, because at first it was like, all right, this is a little cringe. And then was like, I just got it funny. But at some point, Donny was still needs to be some kind of threat to ray. He asked to wrestle. Like he's the ring the bell. He's getting nerfed by an Italian, right? I mean, my best Phoenix, my bad. He's getting nerfed by Beth Phoenix. And about a month ago before mania, I want dominance to do something serious to feel like a threat, not a comedy act, because he's got to wrestle WrestleMania. If all rose lead there, but right now it's like dad's gonna beat the shit out of his son. Yeah. I need him to do something. And very curious how they pull Rhea out of this because the Charlotte feud is serious. And it can't be mommy following behind when Rhea's chasing, I need them to figure that part out. So it's good where it is, but I don't know where it leads to. And then of course you have what you're talking about with Elimination Chamber, edge of Beth Phoenix against Rhea and Finn and I'm like, well, where is this going exactly? Because Rhea can't lose. No. Who's gonna eat this pin? Beth Phoenix, I guess? Yeah, of course. But where does that leave Finn and edge and edge at first, it felt like he's getting revenge, but it's like the Judgment Day is all over the place? So I don't I just as we get closer to mania season, these four need to have some direction because clearly the only ones chasing the title, but it's very serious what she's going after. And the mommy stuff, while his comedic, it makes Rhea baby face and Charlotte's being presented as a baby face? Yeah, kinda. Because who's gonna boo re if she wins a WrestleMania? I mean, it's kind of a baby face, but it's not really a baby face. It's just very over. They're doing really shitty stuff to Rey and his wife. He's not like a babyface thing, but people do, they're like really behind it. At its core it's still very heal. Everybody likes a real Ripley. There's no doubt about that, but the dominant comedic aspect, I think it takes a little bit away from Rhea having the edge going up against Charlotte. These two haven't really, they haven't interacted yet. No. So that's about to happen. So where does that leave dominate? Hopefully they figure it all out. But it's my only issue with the Judgment Day I was like, this is a lot of things going a lot of different places. They just need no pun intended, a little bit more of an edge. Because they're not mad enough. I'm not buying Finn right now. It almost feels like, dude, it's called in Jamaica, because everybody else calling in America. And it's funny, but you're supposed to be the leader of this group. Yeah. No, something at Elimination Chamber, I guess we'll talk about that, Matt shortly. Something has to change, much like the concerto spot. Before that they got Beth Phoenix put on the shelf, where something has to really piss edge off. But this time, that time I was real, catapulted to the movie. Gave her that edge, it was rap. Now, Finn has to do something of the equivalent because they have to have a match where it's like last man standing or I don't know, there's no TLC. On a pole match. Here's the question, like a Hell in a Cell or something. Who is ages beef really with? Should be real. Or should it be Damian priest? And I because priest turned on him? But that's what I'm saying. Like edge's motivation in this feud is like, well, who is this target? Finn was a mastermind of the turn. Right, but this is just a muscle. It needs to be cemented. So as I'm heading into WrestleMania season, because right now, if you present me an edge in fin match, I'm kind of like, yeah, it's all right. Yeah, it's like, it's cool, but if fins like this asshole is trying to kill his wife or something like that, that then I'm like, all right, I'm in. Exactly. Finn just feels like a leprechaun with a 6 pack who wears jamiroquai's clothes and is like masquerading as the guy of a heel faction. It ain't working for me. And we all know Finn is really good, but I just need him to be angrier. Yeah, it just has to get to another level with him and they have to do that at Elimination Chamber. And then DOM, Dominique was theorem. I'm not worried about because they have that ace in the hole, which is ray was attacked at Royal Rumble. Well, yeah, so you can always film something that shows like Dominic crushing his dad. And that's why he didn't come out to the ring, and it makes him a little bit more serious of a threat. Yeah, I just want to match something. Or he could have done some weird shit like his credit card decline because he paid off carrying cross and that's why cross going to have to ray Mysterio because there's no payoff on that. And I don't understand where the hell carrying crosses because he showed the card. He was like, Rey Mysterio, you're next. That's kind of really gone nowhere. They didn't cross paths in the Royal Rumble. And then they're four weeks away from DOM and Rey Mysterio. So it's like cross what are you doing in all of this? It should be that Dominic Mysterio paid carrying cross to take out his dad, and that's how he gets the mask. You show crossed the fucking beating the hell out of Rey Mysterio before royal. Was he paying with his commissary? I don't understand. That's why his car's about now. He spent too much money on that. I'm sorry, real quick, carrying cross is the most directionless character in pro wrestling right now. I'm saying something. He's going nowhere fast. Faster and faster every week. Every week I look across and I'm like, well, what are we doing now? He needs to cut his hair. Yeah, I think you guys should go, he has to go back ball, but there's nothing. Like, him and Bray Wyatt have been two people that came back, and it was like, you're just this cold as you were before we got rid of you. Oh, bray, wasn't that cold until? I mean, this last match. You could say what you want. I mean, cross has been called the entire time. They might benefit from feuding with each other? No. But I don't think cross comes out well there. No, cross doesn't come out. They blew it with cross by having him lose the drew. I feel like they totally blew across. Because cross was looking at Roman. Yeah. And he flew to withdrew, got budget. He went to the classic chaos and threw a bottle. That's why you're here. And it was like from that point on, you've cooled them off completely because he lost a Drew McIntyre. They protected Drew McIntyre so much that it's hurt carrying across. And now, in feuding with rays, just kind of like, why? I don't even know why. I gave him madcap moss after that. Oh my God. Who is now the number one contender? The ending of SmackDown? I was like, what the fuck? The worst way to go. First, I was like, this is main eventing SmackDown? Okay, because I thought The Usos tag match was going to main event SmackDown. No, we're going to get this fatal four way. And I was some watching the match and I'm like, all right, so Gunther's already beat ray. Where are we going with this? I can't boss can't win. They're carrying? Yeah, that was like, oh, maybe we'll just have a slugfest with him and carrying. The madcap moss wins and then the little logo appears at the bottom of the screen, and I'm like, yo, nobody's gonna kill mad cat mom. I'm gonna take the spot. Does this can't be real? No. He got zero pop. Yo. It was so quiet when he won. Everyone's like, the fuck? Like, he, mad cat moss, was clearly a byproduct of Vince. Yeah. Right? Like Vince was like, he looks push me to the moon. I got real stupid him and happy Corbin and all that dumb shit. So then when hunter came in, it felt like they cooled them off. Then they put him with Emma and I was like, all right, whatever. And there was no momentum going in this match. It was like the winner faces Gunther. "Happens when they're nodding? Like Charlotte's going to come back soon. Right? You building depth in a time of need, kind of. Boy, when everyone's healthy when everyone's back, like we saw Bailey come back and they've been in the main picture and they push great. And that hasn't hurt Rita from getting a push as a hurt Oscar from being on TV every weekend hasn't heard Alexa. You've kind of figured it out on raw. Definitely on raw. You haven't figured that out really on SmackDown. But they're trying, but Rhonda at the top. There is a round of problem. So it's more of a no, you know her name is up there in its cells. And that is why she's there. Yeah, I think it's more of a sell. Well, sure. Yeah. It's really like, can we gauge the power of what Rhonda holds over the WWE? I don't know. It's a big contract. That's the power. We're paying her a lot. I feel like the top get something. The top of the women's card, I feel like there is an establishment there, right? Where trips has done a really good job of damage control, Bianca, with Alexa and Asuka, I think, has been really good. There's a top of car to establish there, but we've brought some Candice larae, me a.m., mixed candles array and well. Even Rhea Ripley to a degree, even though she does have her own thing going on with Judgment Day, which again, the rear ripply thing is kind of another issue entirely. Either tell us that she runs the group. And she is Judgment Day. She is. As we know that, but they don't, they don't the way that Finn isn't the top of that game. That is my biggest problem. That's my biggest problem with judgment. It's like Finn, they have Finn go out there and he goes like, this is my faction. I'm Finn Balor. First of all, first of all, so no, it's not. Second, no, it's Rhea's group. It's real stable. We need to. Acknowledge me. We need to acknowledge the tribal chief of the Judgment Day. She is the mommy. Yes. Who's your mommy? She's mommy. She is mommy. Right, correct. At the end of the day, like, Rhea is running that and they need to just start acting like that. They still don't act like that. So it's either do that or she needs to figure out her spot. On the top of the women's cart. I think that's common. So, and it's like, I'm okay with either the direction, but she's kind of caught in the middle right now, and I don't like what they're doing with that. So their teasing a lot. She's done a couple stared down. The biggest thing was she was thrown in this group in this role because she couldn't wrestle. She wasn't cleared to wrestle. Correct. She was hurt, so she was only the mouthpiece and force on the outside. They let her do like a couple spots, being able to Rey Mysterio and Dominic for a second. But she wasn't cleared for a full match. Now that she is, now it's like, okay, now, like you said, shit or get off the pot time. Because now she can do everything. Like, is she so red hot in this role? Is she going to be the enforcer for this group and a part of Finn's table or is she going to be the champion and you guys have no belt, so this hurt goddamn stable? You do what she says. You're her muscle, which ultimately like, where we're going with that, I believe, is I don't think Rhea is necessarily in picture for title runs yet. I think she needs to lead Judgment Day. And they've already placed the roots for the story. We know where this is eventually coming. She's going to fight Beth Phoenix. Somewhere down the road. That has to happen. That's a good, a good mania match if she's not in the title picture. I think that's absolutely where it's got to go. I think we'll see some shenanigans probably at rumble, where Beth comes in and either knocks ria out or re I would assume she'd knock me out. But that is where, like, I mean, again, they literally killed edge, right? I'm sorry, they killed Beth. In front of edge. Did the concerto bet these come back and kick some ass and reverse Beth has got mania written all over it. That's a great I'm not sure if bev can go one on one. But. His Beth and edge seems like a mania man. I mean, I'm also just in favor of just like, it doesn't need the rest of Judgment Day, just like just don't need it. Like Rhea is good enough to just pull that weight on her own. And yeah, I guess it really does come down to can, you know, let's be fair to Beth, right? Like, again, Beth has not I was not a full timer. You're tired. And can't she go? Can she go? And if she can, all credit to her, and she looks great, she looks like she's been on shape. But at the end of the day, if it's something that also includes edge, like, okay, that's fine. And maybe this gives edge and Beth like a WrestleMania moment that they can have together before edge retires, that could be really cool. But there's a story to be told there. "My life, everything that I did in my athletic career led me into WWE. So it was just a grind in a different way. And so now I'm here and I'm still constantly trying to prove that I belong here. I think you've proven that you belong. They were past that now. The championship was like validation. The first time you wanted. But you mentioned this earlier. You don't really need it anymore. It's nice to have and we love that you have it. But I think when we watch you walk out of that recipe, the level of confidence was different. Because did you feel like you said mentioned impostor syndrome? Was it the resume in theory 7 that you got past that? And when did that end for you? I still deal with it now. Really? Yeah, I mean, I feel like when you have impostor syndrome, like no matter how elite you are, like when I remember having all these feelings, I didn't understand it, I thought I was just having problems with my self esteem. And self confidence and then I started reading up on it and the word impostor syndrome came up. And then I started reading how a lot of elite athletes and actors like actors that have won Oscars. They have impostor syndrome, but it comes from this space of feeling, like you're like a perfectionist in an overachiever. And you always want to perfect something before you move forward. And you always are scared. Am I good enough? And so I think that comes from not being from the wrestling background and just want to be a perfectionist and always want to come through and show up and show out. But for me, WrestleMania 37, I feel like I was walking in as a rookie. So I didn't really so much have impostor syndrome with WrestleMania 37 because I was just trying to prove that, yeah, I'm a rookie, but I'm good, you know? And but WrestleMania 38 walking in with Becky Lynch. I feel like SummerSlam did miss me up a little bit mentally of, okay, I thought I was doing this right, but now I lost it in my not good enough. Do they not have faith in me? Am I not a good champion? And so I was constantly dealing with that. So walking into WrestleMania 38, I was very nervous. I thought I wouldn't be 'cause I already made it. But I was very nervous and then going up against Becky Lynch and then becoming champion after Becky Lynch and having to, you know, follow those shoes as she was his champion, so I feel like I still deal with it and but I have to continue to give myself affirmations and I'm even I'm either moving forward or I'm not. So I'm just gonna continue to move forward. Before we get you out here, we usually give talent flowers on this show. And I've been meaning to do this for a while because I've messaged you this that you mean a lot to this culture and the people and it's like I got a niece who adores you. And when you won the championship, I could see her getting ready to cry. Because it wasn't just that you were black women, but you were darker skinned women as well. And to see the confidence that she wants to talk like you, she wants to be like, but for me, as a man who's watched wrestling his entire life, everything that you've done you've done it right. And it's one thing that I appreciate more than anything else. I think the people who listen to podcasts, people that watch you a money in the bank, it never felt like you were trying to be something that you weren't. And to be authentically black and unapologetically black, we're beyond that. I think what you've represented is something that we're all proud of and I go back to that emotion at 37 and I felt it too. And having you in this podcast means the world to me. But watching you shine is where we have to give you your flowers because we know the journey's not done yet. Yeah. We know you still got more work to do. So we just want to say how much we appreciate you and what you mean, not to just black culture, not just like women, but to everybody. You have done it all the right way. Thank you so much. "Sasha mainly brooklyn thanks. I started watching annex t for the women and i had to convince people like no there are actual good. Women's matches were women are doing great work and you have to go watch it and folks like nope still back and break matches on like no. This was before. Give a chance and all that stuff. But the fact that sasha bailey brooklyn was featured on the card the way that it was the fact that it was one of Considered by it just about everybody to be either one of the or match of that. You're and just having a black lady come in against a latin next lady and just tear the roof off of fucking was a barklay as falkland sam. It was such a huge moment for me and that was and there obviously had there been. You know been awesome calm. There have been other women who have been in that space but not placed in that position in you know. On the highest the biggest weekend of the biggest company and the fact that it was positioned that way and the way that people reacted like i will still watch that matching cry and so that was one of those. That was probably the first moment where i really felt like. Oh finally maybe this thing. That i have loved for most of my life actually loves me back because that's obviously been like a problem. That might be one of the first moments where i really felt in. You know as far as the time that. I've been watching where i really felt like as a black lady like seen and appreciated that's still like the match that people will go back to their like. You wanna get into women's matches you go watch this because this was a barn burner and it was almost everyone's match of the year and there's reason for bat man that whole program so yeah that was. Onscreen and beth phoenix was fucking powerhouse but us and she kind of looked a little bit like me like i was blonde and i think she's polish right. Beth is polish. Because i was like wait. Women can look another way and be accepted. A and i feel like we've made leaps and bounds in that area over the last couple of years so the point now where when you only see very slim women who that wait feels dated already which is amazing but that has happened incredibly quickly incredibly quickly that we've thought accepting other body types it. He's probably in the. The creative meetings was found friday. Which i'm sure they're probably in there right now. Still waiting for them to come in and But i don't know. I don't think i don't think really too much is going to change. I think that it's great. That someone like dave kapoor who You know i worked closely with. And i think that he does have a different mindset from from brian although i think that his mindset is also you know structured around. What's brian wants. So i think that if they can address that situation it doesn't matter if they have forty writers or or three if bryant there. It's going to be the same thing. Yeah and and and we're we come up. Close to two dozen is is been steph. The show runner Goertz hayes kapoor and and Kofsky that there. That's eight people all kind of out of the process. And then how many people when you were there. Were quote under brian on the raw team or under michael on the smackdown. How many writers assistant writers kind of you know the entry level and two assistant towards type levels where they're free When i first came in on raw it was Words poor One other writer and myself and then that rider left and we got An assistant on raw and then a new guy came in and then he was there for about three months and then so essentially it was me. It's always brian. Dave me in an assistant and then on smackdown it was My cool and then. They had Chris joseph Under him and then it was Another writer and assistant and then towards like my last three months there..
