"And I'm able to do those kinds of things passions and things that I care about. I've been able to do things and be present so I've enjoyed all that kind of embracing the city picking up where I left off. They it but I'm the biggest canton I'm on the prowl. Indeed welcome to podcast. This is cats John Kessel meeting the Las Vegas Review Journal. My columnists called cats fittingly enough. Find it on page three A.. Everyday online all the time our guest. This week is Dana. Rosselli the Las Vegas Broadcast Dr. Who left left Katie? NBC Channel. Thirteen in October. Rosselli is a free agent right now. She talks about why she departed the ABC affiliate how she has been spending in her time. And what's next including a possible for ray into stand up comedy. This is part one of of a two part. PODCAST with Dana. Part two will be next Monday. All right we are here. Live with Dana Dana Rosselli media. Maven Las Vegas. How you doing good? You always put a little twist on Sully Sully Rosselli. It's me and you and the room again and here we are back at it. I know the person asked asked about most. When I'm out in the field is finally in front of me I doubt it? I don't people ask. That's what is that. What's going on with Dana? Why did she leave and she is cute that she is on TV in person? And what do you say I said. Who are you talking about again? I said yes. I don't know I don't know how are you doing. I'm good. I'm feeling rested which is amazing You know whenever anyone asks me like House Asleep. I mean I'm still waking up in the middle of the night at all. Different hours isn't getting up early but I feel clear I feel unfought. Doggie is that's a word and lifted the fog is lifted. And I've I've been enjoying when I see people like being focused and having a conversation and actually listening and not having six things on my head like I gotta get home. I gotTA wash my hair. I've got to get to. I gotTa take the snap so I feel like it's been really good now. This is all in relation to the schedule. You were working at channel. Thirteen warnings go. Yeah I was getting up at two. AM I. I was on the morning shift which I don't know if some people don't really know the hours of warning TV but the show started at four thirty you and you know got up about Two and the studio four no no three thirty and and three thirty because we re over scripts for two and a half hour show meet decide whether reporters are going to go. That kind of thing so You know tried to get in there As early as I could and then you got to kind of go over at least the first hour of the show so you kind of know what's going on and the flow and fix some things to make it readable the way you would read it and that kind of thing then you know. Put some makeup on and fill your Coffee Cup and get out there. But so that's it's you know Monday through Friday and then you know I did the midday to at eleven. AM So the four thirty am to seven and then some cut INS and a post meeting and whatever whatever meetings we had or whatever I had on the schedule and then the eleven am news to twelve. So it's Kinda did book in shows show kind of right when I got in the show you know the last thing I did for the day as well. So and that was you know that was channel thirteen for four years did similar a similar schedule Even for Radio but that was going in a little bit later later well for thirty five and then Yup and the cakes and then for eight years before that at channel eight same hours the show started. Actually they're at four. AM So it was the same getting up to. It's been about fifteen years of mornings of mornings. You left a thirteen in early October homer over eleven over eleven. Could you have stayed there in that same segment if you wanted to. Could you have been continued in in the morning segment the same hours Hussein the same thing. Yeah well I don't exact. I guess I assume but I had voiced just that I didn't want to be on the morning shift. The thing is it had to come out of my mouth because I knew I can't do this shift anymore. It was really getting to me. I had no life and and I do voice that I didn't WanNa you know really do those hours anymore and it's difficult in the TV world these days because there's not a lot of position there's no anchor positions anymore. There's the morning show and that person does the midday and then there's evening and that's it this morning show routine i. It seemed to me in watching you and watching others do the mornings is you have to be able to experience a city like Las Vegas at night in order to talk about what happens in Las Vegas effectively but you have to actually appear in in the morning. It seems like it's almost impossible to meet both of those requirements it is. It was hard for you to get out and do any experiences during the week at night. Bright in the thing is is I did the schedule. Where did the NAP in the day? And some people don't do that but I did like a one thirty two four nap and then sometimes I could do something if it started early. Ah Enough But even you know even lunchtime emcee gigs and things like that. I had to say because I knew I was going to work nine nine and a half hours and and then I was going to need to. My body was on the NAP schedule. And so even the evening things I'd try and get some exercise in that kind of thing get back to bed at nine nine thirty wake up too so it was very difficult. I have people say you do a lot. I have tried to squeeze it in. I'm the type that has problem with saying no so it has more and more difficult but as it started to get a little bit more difficult than I had to start saying no I can't I can't I can't just try and make what I could right but then there's also there's stuff but then there's also the people in your lives that have a birthday dinner or the end so you're trying to do to people visit. Yeah and all that kind of thing and then what about you. We'll we'll every now and then I'd like to do exercise. Class gets and laundry in so it's a hard balance definitely was a difficult balance but I loved the morning ship. There is something about what I love morning. News there's nothing negative I have to say about you know. The experience has been something that I've chosen and enjoyed and loved. There's there's a feeling of when you you walk in and there's this crew of ten people and it's all on you and you're GONNA put on two and a half hours of news news and you're going to wake people up and when they go to work they're going to say what you said this morning You know I it just it. It definitely gives you a little bit and it was wonderful but but I just thought for lifestyle change. I got to try and get off this shift. See what else is out there that kind of thing plus news is changing. You know. Broadcast news is changing their so much change. And and I just thought it was the perfect time to you know and we had some discussions and things like that and they've been the Great Katy and Just you know there just wasn't and There was an opening for me to move to and that's life. There had to pull the band aid off right there. You'd never did formally announce until right at the end that you were leaving right. You never did actually really say I'm leaving until you were about ready to go right. When did you make the decision because it is awkward? Because I feel like well it's a weird thing is I know they're supposed to be the announcement but you kind of feel awkward like I always feel about myself. Who Cares? I'm leaving. No one's GonNa Miss Me. You know what I mean that kind of thing. You don't really think of yourself as that it's important to announce something thing so And at the same around the same time Beth Fisher was leaving and I knew I wanted to the focus to be her in in Beth was you know had pretty much made eight a decision just for now at least to leave broadcast news and She's got a great job over at the city of Henderson. Doing social media social media officer over there so I. I knew that you know it was. It was important to give her the proper send-off and then for me. I toyed around with the idea and there were different. Ideas tossed around and things this natural. Well what if I did this and all involved the morning shift and in the end it just you know but it was kind of a lot of it was a busy time. We had a lot of the area fifty one stuff stuff going on. We had one. I'm told all these things were happening. where I didn't feel like me leaving? What's important to announce and just really just kind of I went into the last week and then and then boom and then just decided to leave on the was the last day of my contract? My contract was up. So that's right in all forms of media whether it's in Las Vegas Meteor national meter whatever the things that we do We've been required those of us who are veterans to adapt even graded adapting your skills really at the forefront of a social media Application re. You know long before a lot of the Certainly print journalists were involved. You were known to be you know on social media power following you and you're having conversations What what is your assessment of where broadcast media is in Las Vegas right now or is it going to be What's IT GONNA look like in the next phase because it seems like anchors like you said straight talking to an audience is becoming kind of a dinosaur position? Yeah I think that when it comes down to it you need local news and when I think we see that when big things happen right when one October happened I mean the local. TV News. If we weren't on I mean where would have people turn. I mean. Obviously they could go to their phones in that but just to kind of leave on in the background around and here and look and see visually what was happening for a long period of time. Not Clips not click on this click. Click on that clip. And Scroll through who but just as a continuous broadcast feed of this information coming on. Hey here's the Red Cross. Look at the line. Hey were down near where it happened. Hey this is. What's going on the sheriffs about to speak? We're going to you know and it was. We stayed on for Without commercials I WANNA say for. It was like almost almost twenty four if not plus hours and it just felt like and that was when you get the the we really are so thankful for you. We needed needed you. You were there bub-bubba but and then to get there. You have to constantly be doing it right because you have to be good at your job and you know where to go and who to and so. We're all kind of prepared for a day like that sadly you know there's other big moments that are joyous in things are growing and and you know there's development and we're prepared for that too but broadcast S. News. It's difficult because it's changing and newsrooms are trying to change with it and a lot of it is it used to be if you got an exclusive for you or Out and hey listen I just got just talk to this mom. I know we're the only one the has it that used to be. Save it for the six o'clock news not anymore. Oh Yeah it's how AL literally put it out there on all the social channels now and that is the direct. That's what you're told to do. There's no holding anything back anymore. Yeah once you have it. It's kind of like you. It's true of all of us together. And distribute news with what you know when you know it distilling in totally. It's an interesting. Yeah I know right now and when things like the fire remember at the cosmopolitan is like you hear about and you start seeing on your feed but then you you do turn the news on so because you want more warn you want to see you know what I mean that kind of thing so I mean. There's definitely purpose where it's going. I don't necessarily know I feel like the news is going in a direction of where You know there's more discussion. I hope and people talking about the news but you do need the news anchors to to read the news and connect and make the transitions. You're there for transitions and when something breaks able to talk about an ad Lib about it you know where to look and to go with it and I think every news anchor Does enjoyed that part of it too. When you Kinda go off the script it can be challenging? But it's also that the little high gives you a little higher like okay. We're going to go with this. And how are we going to do. And then you're really proud of it when you're finished and you feel like you really you know got information you got all the information out there but I mean I think things are going to absent streaming and twitter and facebook and instagram. And it's it's just gotTa be everywhere now so you need need to have teams in a newsroom. That do all those things now. I see you watch a lot of cable news. You know in my life and when when it usually when I'm writing it's on at at my place and I see you sometimes we'll watch like CNN anchors in the afternoon into the evening Brianna Keller's and those those types of people. WH Why wouldn't you be interested or in place to be one of them. Have you ever looked into that. That area ever investigated a national platform like that because it seems like it would very well suited for that type of role. Yeah thank you I mean I don't know I guess I feel like Erin Burnett. I mean sometimes it's funny you get into. I moved around a lot in New York state three different markets and it was two years here two years there. Pack up the car and then when you move to learn all you know everything about it and you make your friend then you move began you move again. You move again when I moved out here a lot of be another two years and then I love the community. In at the time when I was at channel I kept kind of getting promoted through the different positions. It just happened that way and I was happy. I just thought well I met a lot of great. People are really like this town. I'm seeing and so I kind of made my way and I felt like my contact list and my knowledge of this town I invested so much in it and you know loved the people that I just thought. Well I like it here. I think I wanNA stay and I guess I I. I don't know I don't want to say. I don't think I'm good enough because I have confidence in myself but I don't know if packing everything up and moving to to New York City and being on CNN is me. I don't know and so I haven't pushed it and I also thought I probably need another another big market under my belt before I can get there you know and that would take you know moving from Las Vegas to Philly Boston. You know what L. A.. And then going from there so I always thought I kinda like it here and I've never been that person that really how fantasize about I need to be on TV. I just need to have a voice and connect with people and I think that's why you've noticed that I take on the twitter Role I like. I've always answered people and answering messages ages and I and that's another thing that was a lot of pressures you're getting story ideas and you're getting all sorts of things. Direct message tweets people complimenting his people wanting more information and you gotta take the time to answer all those. And I'm a person who answers. I just really feel like I don't like to ignore people so connecting in that way so I don't know why I never have tried try to. I just thought I like it here and you want to stay. I've invested. Yeah I do WANNA stay here. I always say unless there wasn't a credible amazing opportunity -tunities that I couldn't pass up you know. There are few cities big cities that I would go to that. I know if I'd have to know some people in there. I just don't want to start all over. I felt felt like I started all over so many times. That even in Las Vegas No I mean like just before that always starting over new making new friends finding my way learning the town and I was just I was tired of it and I just felt like I'm happy here. What are what are your options? What are you wearing right now? There's much you can say I'm looking. I'd like to say that I'm looking harder than I am because I am looking but I am enjoying the downtown but You know I have talked to a lot of different but I'm thinking I I'm thinking outside of TV and Exploring exploring those options. Because I've never thought about it and I thought maybe it's time and I thought well you know the way that things are going and changing. I think I need to maybe get some other experience under my belt but that uses uses the skills that I have however it is difficult to. What's on paper? You GotTa get in front of people to. It's an interesting thing to explain. When you're a news anchor like if I were to say that they wouldn't know half the things that I did it would know you're a mentor? You help lead the meetings in the morning. You're coming up with contel tally. You're checking facts. Are doing all these different things you know. And and so it's getting that out there going. What what where does that come into play for another type of position? Where would I be good and so I'm trying to figure that all out I I've been thinking a lot about you know like digital marketing and that kind of thing because you like you said I do love the online stuff and sometimes I'm like even to my friends ends in all sorts of businesses in town? Mike you're not doing this or you need. You should do this and then and then I get a thank you after like thanks for that really worked we we you know we sold this many more tickets or hey we've got this many more phone calls and I thought I should be making money doing that but I want to be in media. Maybe some journalism is a marketing. And I've I'm trying to figure that out what I'm doing a lot of researching and figuring out what I don't WanNa do what does that. What does that entail well? But don't you want to do well. I just feel like I don't know I know that I don't know if I don't want to say because I feel like cool. What if something came up and she said she didn't want to do that so I just I don't know there's certain things and I'm like well maybe I would like to? You know what I feel like. It's it's for sure as I really love Las Vegas and I enjoy talking about Las Vegas in away selling Las Vegas Telling People Las Vegas and I don't know if I really want to belong or be part of like one thing that I can only talk about that because there are restrictions when you work for companies and so I don't Wanna I don't WanNA quiet my voice. I guess that's what I'm trying to say about my love of the town and the things in the experience gained in the people I know in the things that I know about still Wanna be able to talk about all those things so I guess I don't really WanNa position that's like you know it worked for this. This and we live breathe in this and you gotTa talk about this and you gotta always tweet about this and I don't want that right now that you've had you've had An you've been here for a while. Now they've had some downtime. What have you been doing would have some of the highlights of the of viewing experiencing the city? There could be a way to get an idea of that process. I mean it's specially right and it's been enjoying some of the events that I haven't been able to a lot of friends that have shows like you've never seen my show. You know that kind of trying to use legends. And that's the first time I've seen it since like literally when I moved here I know and so I was able to go see that had a blast brought her out long. "A lot of what do you. What would your ultimate like? That's what I want whether it's radio it's podcasting it's TV. I don't know but I want just talk about the news kind of like we're doing the lake. But I'm the biggest Caton I'm on the prowl. Indeed welcome to podcast. This is cats John Castle. Meet us of the Las Vegas Review Journal. My columnists called cats fittingly enough. Find it on page three A.. Everyday an online all the time this week I'm once again joined by Longtime Las Vegas Broadcast Personality. And my dear your friend. Dana Rosselli Dana Left. KT NBC CHANNEL THIRTEEN THE CITIES ABC affiliate. In October. She has a fifteen year history in our city the and she talks about her options for the future. Some of what she has in mind might surprise you but what is not a surprise is that she wants to stay right here in Las Vegas. This is part of my conversation with Dana. So if you missed last week's episode you may want to check it out before continuing on with this one Have you been impressed by how people know you. How many people know you? Because I've been around this to or you know I've been kind of attached to it a little bit in your life but people really know who you are in the city. Now what's been free. Some of the messages I receive this week so we really miss and then they point point out exactly what they missed about you miss about you and I thought wow I. It always amazes me and I'm like thank you. That's so nice and then you know the amount of times you are stopped. I must say I'm a little. I'm a person who's like I don't like everyone to say happy birthday to me. And it's weird because I'm on TV but I do get a little. I don't know shy about it. I guess yes in a way I love talking to people but people do ask me like what is that liked people stop you. Does everyone know you. And I'm like I guess so. I mean I don't want to be like yeah. Everyone knows knows me. You know what I mean but when people do stop you when you're paying your parking thing it you know the parking garage and they say such nice things and I do. I do think it's odd but I also think I've been here fifteen years and I've done a variety of things and that that makes sense and I think people feel they know you. I know there's news anchors that I watch on on a national level that I feel connected to. Yeah it's interesting you're right too. Yeah I do I do and even working a lot of times when I work for obviously a certain network network you know we watch a lot of their stuff so I know they're pool of reporters back got men on ABC News. You know I think David Muir does a great job I the whole morning crew at Good Morning America and even the reporters that are all around some in Washington and I I know which ones are going to do what stories and what. They're good at and I look up to them. I definitely feel like if they leave. Where do they go? And so that must be how they feel about me and I get it Some highlights of stories. You've worked on over the years it's been since two thousand and for for you. You move to Las Vegas. If you had to look at an interview subject or a story that was particularly memorably you can that that you've remember even today. What would it be? You know one of the things was actually when I was in radio and that was being able to go to the T. mobile arena while well it was in its phases and events that I went to and it was the whole construction crew. was there with the hard hats. And all the workers because we pass by and we think about Las Vegas. It's so much development we look at these things and they go up so quick but what I loved was sitting at a table with hundreds of construction workers there were proud and putting together this arena and building this massive and someone on the microphone congratulating the more in this phase. Now we're in that phase and and just is thinking look at all these people who work every single day on just this and how many other projects are going on at the same time in the wake up early in there. And you're like I mean it's incredible credible to me. What construction I do in this town and builders everything it just amazes me and I really enjoyed to sit in there with rows and rows and rows news of hard hats and workers with their opening up their cantopop and and just to them you never see the arena in that stage? You only see it that one one time that way. I know finite experience very interesting. And that's something that I just really enjoyed being on the ground there. I just remember thinking because that really is we. We have so much of that in our town and we forget sometimes the people that are behind building it we just know who announced it. Who's going to perform their? WHO's GonNa play there and then you know? What kind of food are they going to have the building? What would it together? And it's incredible with. Who set it up with a firm? Yeah I love with. The raiders did at the draft this year with the construction workers workers calling off some of the draft. Picks out at the Raiders Stadium site and and putting shining light on people who are actually doing the work they announced the draft picks you know on TV TV. You're reminded how important here we're a sports town since you flood right. Do you ever think that would happen. Now it's changed and I. That's another reason that I really love. This town is constantly changing and growing and I really realized that I like I like that. You know I grew up in Rochester where it was a Homa Kodak Dak and to see the whole town you know even a code. No people used to walk across walks. It was packed. Everyone worked at Kodak. And then you drive right through there and you don't even see one person in completely bare and to see things close up and I like I do like the joy of living here and seeing things open and putting people to walk back in cities can turn out you know. We just covered an opening this week. Last night With Ron over The Luxor and I was reminded of the first show. Oh we've had opens in six years and how interesting how how much better I feel about a show opening in Las Vegas just to be there then we all the closings things we've had so yeah you gotta do. You gotta covered all do so much more to do as a journalist. I don't know if you feel that way and that was another thing. I mean it was when you talked about. How are things changing? We have so many things to do. And where does fact checking even come in. It's like you've got to go over things in fact check and look at things and that's where the knowledge and experience comes in and that's what I'm really enjoyed to about and when you say why do you stay because I really like knowing the answer off the top of my head if I see it I can change it by just coming out of my mouth. You know what I mean. I don't have to and just knowing about plus I did traffic. I was in the helicopter. That's retainment reporter. I was a morning anchor general assignment reporter. I did morning radio talk and so all of this variety I have loved that when people bring in something up. I'm like Oh no no. No that was you know I love knowing it all. I do love the knowledge and being able to to speak about Las Vegas. There's something to be said for that. And that's that's what I enjoy. Quality move around journalist move around. It's hard the longtime ones are very. You know they're they're they're valuable. And that's that's where it Kinda comes in your mentors and leaders in teaching. And I'll never forget the things that I learned from Gary Ladele at channel whereas Caesar's does not have an apostrophe Astros Not Fiftieth Anniversary Sarno family they did a video no apostrophe press releases that come from other CNN CNN positively us in a news release. Stop reading. Now it's done. I know it's just. I'm just prejudiced against that. But what is your opinion of social media changed synced just over the years since you started becoming while I'm talking about the two thousand nine ten when we all started just kind of getting into twitter compared to now how's your opinion of it. Well Alder has it for sure for more than it's more people are more negative. I mean it used to be just kind of a fun place riding chair stuff and you'd talk back and forth and you know some rumors get get started and stuff like that but but now it's gotta you know if you say it and I know you've experienced you've got to be ready for the response and people will respond and they will support or they will have a different opinion. You know being in journalism. It's kind of you've got to kind of put the blink series senators when you're putting just the information out there people come back with barking at us. I'm just putting the story out. You know I'm not you know and then but you've got to be ready to answer. I think that a lot of people don't answer sometimes and an answering his key but I think it's changed because there's a lot of negativity and there's a lot of I can't tell you how many people follow me. They do not have a picture of their face. Lake or a dog or a drink cocktail or shadow in everyone's hiding behind this titled Account doesn't have a name I'm attached to who runs. What accounts and we don't know how many people run a single account for city? It's getting to be a weird place. Twitter is getting to be weird place news from it is and I. I love twitter's my favorite social media platform. I love it just because the quick it's back and forth conversation. Yeah and I feel like for me with all the different categories. I've really learn what's going on I click on what's trending. What's news locally? What's going on in Las Vegas? What's going on worldwide? You can click on the subjects and things like that and I literally feel like if I want more information than I go find. Yeah it's interesting because I've gone from thinking of it as a news break platform as a news tip platform. I see where I might Wanna where you can see something. You can verify it yourself. That might I tasted like a long tip sheet and a lot of ways where I used to think maybe considered more of a news break. Now I go back and make sure that everything's verified until and then I'll l. tweet something or I'll post column for sure you know but it's a and you gotta be careful TV news. I mean they use social media as like in the newscast. I mean that's just what we it's that's another thing. Social Media's changed we didn't really use twitter start and things like you didn't use a tweet or video from a tweet now. I mean even soon as a joke right your twitter account for them. I know because I was I on on this. I really did enjoy those. The first year and two years I was at I two years it was as a channel thirteen. I was the breaking news desk. And we had kind of a telestrator we would bring in all those elements and I would search around for you know information. I could bring those up on a big screen behind me and kind of you know make it bigger and swipe to the next thing and bring in something else and and so I knew where to go and I knew where to find this. I really enjoyed that part of it. The ad-libbing and gathering being from social media but because people say your your greatest social media. It's like yeah but thank you but I'm also good at knowing where to go to write things and you're good at reading react because if you've done radio if you've been involved in the live discussion of any kind twitter's a lot like that you can you. Can you find your your your your ability to communicate based on other platforms twitter. But you know. Yeah I've just thinking about it right now. We confirmed Almost just this week about the WHO coming to Las Vegas is based on a common from Pete Townsend on response on instagram right. I mean that needs to be unheard of now you know and then you take that piece of information racially running around all your contacts and and people need to be you have an now. Newsrooms news organizations have to be. Have someone looking for that stuff. Whether you're just all trained to do quit like just everyone needs to be on the lookout all the time or sometimes you hire one or two metals from either those platforms. Yeah did you see S. You know you're right. It is a great place for tips or when something is just started. You're like WHOA. But then you also have to be really careful because things sometimes are not real uh-huh war it's a video that was tweeted out two years ago and someone's resurfacing and you're thinking wait is this. This isn't happening at something like that. Maybe I'll re tweet that right anyway. Then you kind of back off say wait a second you know like we like we had this big fight in the Browns steelers game last night to look unbelievable to me. I saw the video of a little bit later. I was behind. Ah In in finding where a player hit another player over the head with a helmet Britain guy for the browns head of steelers player and it looked fake and E. C.. And you have to go and you start digging around. Make sure it's not even real just because you see it on twitter. That's why it was not to be real but it looked like something that somebody could have put together and edited right now and these people are making videos just for that purpose we can fool them. There's departments that are they put together to be funny could have been mean yeah. The other day tweeted that girl as jar at one of the Yeah I saw that Surrey. Everyone thinks that it was you know that they shoot them before the game and put them on the big board to make people think it's real and it's not so there was this whole discussion but I was even like clicking through like trying to find. Is this real even like Yahoo Sport. Other people are like we don't know if it's real but it campy or she put something else in. The Jar was disgusted and then marshon chimed and in and said No. That's what he called it blanking on the name of what it is but it's kind of like a setup and he said a lot of people love sports organizations do that they shoot it before okay. Put the crowd around him and then they'll show it on the thing and I want to look it up and the reaction but it's it's all an act and it's in order to full people. Make people people laugh. You know what I'm doing is remember America's funniest home videos. Maybe it's still on. I don't know the the TV show he hosting a show about social the media hosting some kind of platform of social media. And the auditor's out. There yeah I mean it'd be great at that I would not to listen what I when I always think about. People say what do you I'd really just. I WanNa talk about the news and entertainment and breaking. I just WanNa talk about you know. Even if it's things after I it's difficult they don't WanNa read the news. I WanNa talk about it and a lot of what do you. What would your ultimate? It's like that's what I want whether it's radio it's podcasting it's TV. I don't know but I want to just talk about the news. kind of like we're would you be comfortable in having your opinion out there all the time. Like like if you went to see like if you're at run last night and you go into a platform and the next day after talk about Ron what you liked and let didn't like maybe you hated run and that comes out would you. Would you be comfortable walking around with that responsibility. I think I would be okay with it as long as obviously would say it in an appropriate way and I have I mean the thing is i. Don't actually I'm not a reviewer but I don't lie about things if I'll never forget Beth. Oh he said Beth Fisher Co anchor at channel thirteen time. Something came up about Mariah Mariah right. Did you like it and I was on the air. Okay and these little she always after. At least you're honest you know. Oh you're going to see but you're honest and I thought yeah but in listen. I had a great time Ryan. I downloaded her number. One hits all our number one hits. I loved it it was opening night. There was a couple little things is that we're kind of just a little funny Mariah and so I was like it's work genta show so but people have enjoyed it ever since. I've been back to the Christmas holiday. Show yeah ever since I have dress that show. They've been wanting me to come back to the show but yeah it can be. It can be a lot of people have trouble saying that you know not speaking the truth. I think I would always be courteous the way that I said it or or more. Look at some of the things that could be approved improved. Listen I'm one of those rare like that's why I always feel like I don't know if I could be a reviewer because like I loved the Elvis Cirque show how about this I am now Elvis cirque show at the beginning. You loved it though. Use like the first version because at the end it was good now I liked it from the very beginning was wrong with. I enjoyed it. I thought it was great. So Elvis character actor on stilts there was great it was something different. It was a different thing. But I love Elvis. I love everything. You've musically it was good. You know about Elvis. We live in a city. I don't know if Elvis is just to sell it used to be in Las Vegas any overall. I've always you know. Oh for the past few years. He hasn't been a great selling point. Not like it used to be. I think the whole Elvis brand is waning. A little bit to be honest. And I don't think cirque found that out they were at the forefront of that period. You know everybody thought it was going to be an easy sell with Elvis and Cirque du it wasn't. I always think about that like it's fun with all the Elvis. I love all the offices and the the fund that we have with but has it turned into more of kind of a fun character instead of Elvis the legend chance to talk to Priscilla Presley about about this issue. She'll give you an earful freebie higher spirits buskers and the guys holding signs. You know on the corners at you. Know that are elvis dressed as elvis and all that stuff she was behind the first version of the Viva Elvis. Where they wanted to enforce his biography a lot and that That was the tough thing right inside the cirque context to deliver a heartfelt Elvis with a bunch of acrobats. Around right now I remember seeing her on the carpet and take Lisa. Marie was there Joe. What twelve years ago maybe nine? Hi Tom we've been around awhile it it's funny because you and Ryan Denise Tercel. Oh we were all at something. Recently we said well it's like it's like Rachel Smith were like the originals. We've all been here fifteen years. The CAPRIO Randy. I think we are all together. Yeah I know everyone I see in town right now. It's like I don't know sixteen seventeen years everybody still around you know. Pr People's Guy. I've known him for that. Yeah no and I think we all have ideas of what we WANNA do and where we want to go and what we would like to do. I think people always say you should you. Should I get this all tied you. Should you should know how how do I like. Do you know what I mean. It's like yeah I should but there isn't an outlet for that here or you know even people I say you love entertainment like I do. I love it but unloved news at just as much chide love But in the entertainment world is so interesting how we don't really have entertainment TV shows here. We don't have things that focus on that really as much as you would think. I mean everyone from other states in my family in front like well. Why don't and I'm like? It's not like that they're like what do you mean it's Vegas. I'm like no no but everyone always says people are interested outside of Vegas but not as much inlaws so I think the thing is and I've looked into this to that outside. Las Vegas seems easy. They should have an entertainment tonight but just be entertainment. Entertainment Las Vegas so they should have your should be a talk show but once you start to specifically plan for that the the people who are interesting newsmakers the big celebs in Las Vegas are tied. Hi to specific companies and resorts so if you wanted to have a show. That was all about a resident headliners new and bringing people you'd have to work around the fact that you've had the show somewhere and Lady Gaga is connected. MGM Resorts International Gwen Stefani's connected to Caesar's entertainment and your facility might be a CAESARS. Entertainment connected acted facility recording facility. That that would run into it. You'd have people who would be Wouldn't want to be on a show with another person from another competing resort. You you know it would be at A. I always run into that kind of clutter and we think about it conceptually now and then but then you'd have a show that would be mostly localized with with the the next level of entertainers which would be easier to produce. But it wouldn't have any national appeal right. But what if what if you had people on those shows that were coming through Las Vegas but but like you're saying I guess they belong to certain festival or you know it's just always been you know getting through the the politics of it you know and yeah I would. I think it'd be great. You know you'd have to really plan for that you'd have to. It's a lot more work than you know. We've we've talked talked about at various levels and it's just a lot more work than you would anticipate the idea is. There is a need there but the reason it hasn't been Dunya just because it's so complex. Yeah and now more and more people just WanNa go find it you know they want to go see your network late night. Show that you know they. They do their own outreach to their own the interviews in their own social media platforms and they return audiences that way. There's no there's no compelling reason for Lady Gaga to go on a show that senator in Las Vegas when she has eighty million million twitter followers audience that way exactly you know it does become more difficult things. That's the thing and things are changing their changing so quick. It's hard to care like wait. Wait a minute now. We have to do this now. We have to do that. We do that. I think there's you know and there's a need for and that's the thing there's a lot of new startup companies and things like that and growth in that does like now. We're realizing lies in the people need this or people need that and and you got to quickly start it up. So maybe I'll start it up. I don't know that you should what you. What's sure timeline for funding the next big thing? I mean I'd like to be you know I do like I said I'm GonNa go home at four in the. I haven't done this in a long time for a full week to see my family. I'm looking Ford to that. Dad's eighty three now and I haven't sat at home and smell Thanksgiving Food and sat with Dad. And you know like just you know all that sort of thing so I'm going to do that and that's important to me you know Christmas Obviously important to but I don't you know as long as I can get home for that. So it's it's kind of get those holidays holidays over and then kind of really dig into it. I have you know had some meetings and interviews about things. I'm just trying to decide what's the best for me. And then on the flip flipside you know the You know they think I'd be the one for this certain things so I mean doing some of that might even be doing some some shadowing towing of some different kinds of jobs to see if it's for me but I would love to. I'd like to be working by you. Know the new year the New Year. That's you know it's twenty twenty and it's time for new job new me I don't know and I also think that this next go around something else about being if I'm if I decide not to two I'm not I'm not saying I'll never be on local news again or be TV broadcaster. Because there's always that too I mean I may have just needed a break and needed different hours but so maybe I'll do that but I think this next go round. I'm if I'm not doing that it'd be nice to do something and maybe just have a little a couple of things that I WANNA do. You know what I mean because when you're on TV you have a contract. You can't do anything else at all. So besides you know obviously we do Yvonne Tear Work and compete compete. That's it's a six month six months. Yeah so you had the idea that the doing comedy. We didn't even talk about that. My stand forgotten about okay. Let's let's talk about this. Close it up okay. We forgot about this. I do know and I really think are funny. I think you know now you did. I'll I'll set it up. You get a rose. We did arose of Chris Phillips. Oh Yeah so we bought at the stratosphere you got up and did ten minutes ten minutes and laid into Chris Villa. I'll never forget my camera introduce me. And he said we couldn't get Marie Osmond so instead of me run in danger. Dana Elliott this great. That was a great roast. Actually yeah so I did and I thought Oh. No one's GonNa Latin. I'm not like edgy. And Fun but I think I got some pretty good last in the audience and I had a blast doing it I enjoyed it. I could see you become emboldened as you went through. Oh people think this is funny but I think they didn't think some of those things would come out of my mouth right but since then there's all these things that I see I mean and even in from the news world and dealing with my mom's reaction to things things and with me from facebook and social like the things that I see been driving me nuts as a whole the whole thing nearly perfect. I always texts me and says you know they say or they said and I'm like who said I just said that you just watch my livestream. Who is say it's me or base said it's going to be eighty degrees in Las Vegas? I meant like why are we being. It's recite your music. I saw him the facebook that the that I know I posted that yesterday. Oh there was that you got you got too much rouge on On a commercial break rouge I love it but no I have a couple things and whenever I'm on planes I start adding down my notes Some really funny stuff and I was actually with my friend. She's a friend of mine. Debbie Gibson and I was started Debbie Gibson telling her story and she's like you know what you're right. I can see you. It's standup comic. You're very there's something about you. Where do you go with this? You can go to an open mic or you're going to. I don't know so I didn't think Monday night. Great thing at the at the sand. Something sand dollar. Yeah yeah there's a fan something. Try this place before before right so I've got to. Here's I'm just GonNa Skansi my notes. These are minorities go real a one day. There's an Improv thing. Coming to town at the springs. Preserve Deserve Okay second city. They're coming to do some workshops and I thought maybe I should do that. Paul and Matt Mattingly Improv. Guys in Matt Donnelly helped me with the show Biz rose some of the content. They're talking about. Yeah so anyway. I'm thinking about it now. I'm going to do it like under the radar are and see how it goes. And then I'll invite you strangers to see how they react. Are doing a midnight a late night. Thing that Jimmy Kimmel. I think they're going to be bringing some developing comics. Well tonight show so. Can I just go and just like stand up. I don't mind because everyone's drunk. They'll laugh anyway you hope so hope. They're drinking they laugh at. Maybe we just trunk and I think I have some funny stuff. But we'll see I love the idea. Yeah so maybe that'll be is one of my side gigs. Has Anybody ever taken. A helicopter turned on the news. Anybody out there. Let me tell you what this is like. Oh yeah you know and then then the four thirty. AM newscasters a whole bunch there. I mean we're half ready at four thirty often during the campaign man as the half hour goes on we get better and better looking. Always say satirical newscast. Ah We always used to take down notes if we could really say what we want to say or this is how this would come out if this were Saturday. This is how it would go and we're like wouldn't that be fun to actually talk to mark Chinook about doing a mondays dark around that kind of a funny Saturday night. Live kind of all newscasts type deal. Yeah comedy comedy Just kind of have some fun with it and I said maybe one day but maybe now's the time I don't know but just to kind of just it's just the stuff that people think the news I mean I can't tell you how many dates I've gone out on people say they were blooper tape out their view and I'm like what is such a weird question but people think you've blooper tape of your coat cl- like all my mistakes cope like that's like I feel like bloop and bloopers are so like twenty years. You wouldn't look at the camera. Yeah dotty booker to Yemen. Daddy I think it was dotty dotty role but I enjoyed talking with you and you coming on the midday show because I felt you know Knowledgeable about the topics that we talked about. So I was able to ask you questions home harder. Your different animal and it's difficult it is and I think live. TV is is something to who are your. Your knowledge comes in here knowledge. Base of the things you've been to and you've seen it. I remember Justin. Bruce said to me once I think I interviewed Joe Coy and he said you know that was a really good interview. It's difficult to interview comedians. And keep in a three and a half minutes so you gotTa keep it in you know and I said well thanks and I said you know what about four years ago he or three years ago. It was when I was in radio. Please come to my show. Please come true so I went and I think because I saw the show it was just. It made our interview so much better because I was able to kick in questions and explain to the audience. This is what he's about and this is what he does so ask the right questions. Yeah well it was hard getting back to the earlier. It's hard when you're when and you have to be in in the morning. You can't always get to the things that will help you researcher your interview questions so you rely on second reading it or researching it on watching different wake watching clips but to go Yeah to go out and actually experience something like in on whatever your experiences. Yeah but it was just rocks when we got here. Is that what it is that what it was rocks people to? I went on a wine tour. And Okay wealthy. No those things are very basic reminds me like a carnival cruise. I guess it's not that bad but we went to Melba wines and there was a cave and this low wha was telling us the history of cave and he was like these drawings are from the indigenous people and their of the Spanish people and like all all the white colonists and they were so impressed by the fire that they made and they had never seen fire before they were oppressed by the horses and I was like who Jewish here. It wasn't no indigenous people beyond the fuck is made up. This is somebody named Craig. Abbadi Bobby would like an arts degree. Native American people had never seen fire. I find that very difficult and sorry. What was I cooking corn with making maze with a buffalo breed on? Come on everyone. Gather at how how you want it. You gotta get a temperature on it now but So yeah why V. Scam gotta be more empathetic with and I get it because sometimes I'm not fucking with the the scammer. Like cameras are bad people and I'm like I can't fuck with this but I can't fuck with the scam that you did but not who you are as a person is up right the two okay. I can't do that are Kelly. But I can't do that with scammers. Okay well I mean that's something else. Also he's still alive difference. I think I like when our Kelly dies. Maybe you can step in the name of what he had. He had a couple of songs that we enjoy that like. I missed a little bit but like how bad are Sharam down here making hits the arm be joins from the nine nine. Visit to listen to Michael Jackson though well. Michael's dead debt and like no amount of money that we stream is go to Michael abusing anybody but on the other hand. R Kelly is very much alive. Live and you give him. He is using for abuse. That being said there was some crossover. Kelly did write some of Michael Jackson's songs songs are Kelly wrote for other people because he can't read you know when they say row. I don't think mink physically. He had wrote the. He's in the studio like that. And then there's somebody in the corner writing at transcribing right. And he's like what did I say? Read it to me. We Make Fun of R Kelly being illiterate because he's a terrible person. Yeah so let's get our first segment here. What's hot in fraud? So this is GonNa Letter from you guys. I have so many non carrying a black not card carrying black people around me. Sorry friend. I'll try better. But so I play online spades and I have a cute pitcher and on last pays dues. Be sending me flowers in the online game. And they'd be sending me spades money spades money but they not spending sending you know money. I guess if I engage with them I probably could get because they do. Dm on this is going to be like. What's beautiful? But I just I don't. I don't have the capacity to engage with people under false circumstances or pretense so is it. Spades DOT COM. What is the website that you know? It's an APP and it is called What is it called? I think it just might be called. Spain's okay oh it's called spades plus and I. It is so accessible on my phone because I played so much okay space plus but I love it so I get getting on a game plan with people. And engaging with people trying to those shots at me haters. They'll send me like fish or something to the table because they hate me. Yeah it'd be it'd be real fish like they just throw a fish on the table and it pops up on your screen yes i. It'll sit on my screen where my cards are until I like either by myself. A drink or something to like. Replace it but if you okay yeah so I get engaged with people online. So he says he plays with strangers all the time but everyone knows that white what we're here for and nobody bothers chatting so that's the most too I'll be on with these business so they come later tiles down collect the dopamine. Whatever okay so. He's painting me a picture all right. Dick Van Dyke so anyway. Let's get to the point. He said that some scammer started targeting him and in like playing like he was sixty old instead of twenty six so Dick Van Dyke is twenty six and the scammer thought. He was older because obviously like older people. Like this type of game like my mom and my dad played words with friends fifties. Guess she's not old but like my mom. My Dad play whereas phrase so these. Are the screen shots. That Dick sent me. I want to say this cameras name but I'm like out Mike that Oh so. The scammer starts off with like how you doing today. Nice to meet you here. Doesn't sound like a human already Dick was idea. Hello Hello how are you? And so the scammer was like where are you from? And how is the weather condition over there? A or like and American filtering this through Google. Translate Yeah Rosetta Stone. Gopher for scammers almost dueling gophers. Gamete I gotcha. So I don't know why but Dick is still talking Ohio Chile. Would you like to tell me about Joe Trading Scheme? Wait a minute Dick so you knew he was gonNA do. Yeah I guess so. The scammer says I'm a stockbroker and binary trait expert. Are you familiar with it? Binary trait options is just like any other business but in this case more sophisticated and advanced when you invest your money goes to the market and is used for traits. A professional should know how to trade with these currencies with years of experience and software available. That just sounds like the stock market. Yes Bro what what do you mean? Okay he pretty much described stocks stop other investments slash businesses need up to a month to give returns and profit which might not even be guaranteed. He hasn't typos and a high risk of loss unlikely by Mary Trading. That's the name. I don't like anything with unlikely. Unlikely will ever see money again. Unlikely you will make it home. Feels like I'm a die right. I like to make it home. So unlike trading say where your profit is get gotten weekly and is always guaranteed when you're in the hands of expert trader and Best of all little to no risk because the technology and software. That's being used. So the Dick Van Dyke say nothing back and then he goes a day later. This camera goes are you there? Unlikely Right and then responded this is at best a Pasi scheme and then yeah so. He understood what it was right. But that's I offer you an opportunity to make money like when this will learned from rich white people when there's a good amount of money to made something. They're not sharing that information with anyone. Yes that that part but like also like anytime a white person gives you something for free. I feel like it's a trap like that's why I've never gotten the flu shot because you know they free at Walgreens and it's You just give it to poor people now. Y'All giving away corona virus. I'm not you know what I mean if you anti vaccine no I've got I've gotten all my shots and everything but if it's free if they're giving something away I don't want it I I get that shot. I think the reason that they do is because it only works. If we all get is so that we can bridge egg babies and old people. I don't get them either but I don't want the flu has what I do kit girl. Listen I'M NOT GONNA be and don't doubt access do not as we about how I know okay with an eye vegetables fruits. You know I get a lot of vitamin C my body. I'm not anti vaccine. Okay but yes. I understand what you're saying like when it comes to free things but this is to me because it's like we're on a game where we're just playing scrabble or whatever like why are you trying to offer me a business opportunity. And what world do you think I would think that was a legitimate? I don't know I don't but there are people who fall for these things that's why they keep popping up like I just moved into a new apartment so one bedroom. She's doing really well and I was trying to get like sell some stuff and put it on like facebook marketplace or like some random like APPs or whatever and people are like. Oh I want to buy. This can actually chick. Ooh Yeah. No I'm send you a check by express overnight and it's just then me and it's like no no no. I'm just going to send you the money and it's going to be too much so I need you to send me the cash. I'd like furniture webs. Like that's what they're doing and that's the new scheme that they do and over there so everybody's trying to run this kind. Yeah I'm GonNa send you a check a certified check who by whom it's like. Well I'm selling this with seventy five check for three hundred. I need you to send me the cash. What what send yourself the check and then you take the money like what are you. What are you saying? Yeah and it's crazy because if you are desperate if you see opportunity you might be like. Oh let me try those. We call our desktop meter. Like you gotta check in with yourself and think about like. How bad do you want this? And is that clouding your judgement. So I guess if you really need three hundred dollars you might be like. Oh better if you really need to sell your furniture. My blood sure sounds great. But I don't understand what were you going. I won't take a check from you in person a check. You could call your bank. Have Him on the phone? They could read out your balance and then you could write a check. I could take my APP out. Screen shot on the APP and depa still wouldn't take just digitally send me my money or cash and those are the only firms currency that we're taking as leg. Y'All play now here I saw. I was at the headline last night and this older lady wrote a check but I mean they knew each edison sure but they have been doing he. She had done his career for a long time. But I was thinking as wild. Have checks on you pull out a checkbook. I need to check on me personally. This my new landlord takes checks and I haven't written a check in so many years. If ever and I rent check that I wrote was wrong. She was like this is not how you feel these out. You gotTa Google Google. That instilled did it wrong. That's not what the number I was like. Can I cross it out? She was like no four with money. Okay I'll put my name here sign. What does memo mean members no is it me? Mo? Is that meet me right? My favorite Mimi. I drew a picture of baby. Yoda probably acceptable. I don't know I feel like all this game that I've ever run have been like safe right right I would. I don't know what your scams are in particular but I'm GonNa tell you right now. Yeah Way I do WanNa know one before we move on okay so I have a friend. Okay this dude that I was banging allow. This friend changed so quickly pointing a guy that I was hooking up with was telling me that he got his mattress for free. He got one of those like bed in a box mattresses and he was like you got order it. You gotTa Order Your Mattress from Amazon. And it like a like a casper mattress like tuft and needle or whatever and if you tell them that you don't want anymore. Amazon is not coming to pick the bed up but they will refund your money but has to be a certain brand so I was like. Oh so I ordered a mattress a queen size bed. They delivered it. I slept on it for a couple of days and then I was like ear Amazon. This is working this bid and they're like what if we give you a fifty percent refund and I was like I don't want the bed come get it. And they were like okay. We're going to give your money back. You GotTa get rid of the Bill Yourself. I'm like I'm like why so. Let me keep the bed. And they gave me a full refund and on bed for the last year and a half he. Oh congregations I mean. And that talked about it on my podcast and a bunch of listeners tried and it didn't work for them so they might be up on game. Also just do it. If you know you're you're gonNA need the bed. The bed that I did it with a tuft and needle queen size bed. Casper will come get stuff. Yeah Casper Taller is like like Amazon will call Castro and Castro's like Oh we away castles. I bet they're like rolling it up like a Burrito and they will take it out of the house but I wish seventeen flights of stairs. We'll be there we update. We've been some drones to open your window miss outside. Yeah but I got my play. These these beds are comfortable. Somebody will take vision. I mean it's like a twelve hundred dollar mattress. Yeah Yeah you're not playing with that. The funniest guys Jeff Bass okay. You know we don't like his ass on the Buck Buckingham. It's such a good night's sleep to. He has so much money. So don't worry take your bid. But didn't he just by the most expensive house in la or something yes and someone did it like the math and it was like the because it was like a hundred and fifty. How much was Basil's house? Come rude because basically somebody told me that if your salary was sixty thousand dollars a year it would be like buying a house for seventy five dollars like like in comparison to how much money he has and how he bought this House for a hundred and sixty five million dollars shatter the record before like it. Looks like Versailles is what people nine acres and he beat Murdoch. One of the Murdoch's go go separate the says Lackland. That is the whitest name at Lackland. Murdoch had purchased one hundred and fifty million dollar house last year in Belair. And that was the top. And then Jeff Bezos came out and beat him by purchasing a hundred fifty six million dollar place. One hundred sixty five million dollars one hundred dollars bedrooms and or it's like location is like the price of all the houses around right then it's like space then like bear rooms and it's like technology and you know it's also like how close can get to it lights so expensive they can't get close at all. Is there a force field that keeps the Melanin awakeness APPS? The made is white. That's how they're like. This house is so expensive that the made is a white light. But not regular why lady. She's definitely from Europe. Miami are Swedish. Like yeah they're definitely vintage beige. Yeah this is so rich that just no one white. Is there anything work? He is worth more. That is crazy. That's absolutely insane guys use master scam because you're Basil's money honey and Jeff. Bezos is a nasty billionaire. Here's the thing though I would come in and billionaire. You can't become a billionaire without at least one person dying and it. Even if it's eight advertently like is still Yo- fall. He got dead bodies bodies Bra. There's so many people who have died at Amazon have worked themselves to the point where they can no longer function or bedridden. And you know what he's just hiring. More people is Chattel at this point so to shadow. He's using those dead bodies to these mattresses and let me tell you what a good night's sleep. It is Easter Asleep so good. Oh my God we right back after some non scam advertise all right guys in. We are back and it's time for my favorite segment of the podcast with me historic hoodwink. Yes you said in your car and I'll pretend I heard you. Yes yes yes bro. You know. I didn't get the script so I didn't know that know you good. You gave enthusiasm. That's just enough marine. So today's started wings is where. I'm going to Regale Marie with a very famous or infamous caper scam that we're religious standing and we're GONNA get your opinion okay now. All throughout today are historical is about Anna March and Anna March is a literary scammer who first appeared around two thousand eleven when she started publishing online before that she was known by different names in different cities. Anna March Delaney. Now my aunt March Delaney Anderson Nancy Kruse Lou and Nancy Lot so I feel like Anna started with Anna March. She was like okay. You know how much name Delaney this was like. Oh you know I'm Nancy and she was like okay. I can't remember no more new first name so I'm just changed the last name this task. I feel like if if you change your name. Don't you forget that you changed your name at some point and then also what if somebody hits you pass live and then they call you to other name. This is a lot it just also like. My memory is trash. I'd be smoking too much so I can't remember these things like too many things to remember. You would just introduce myself as the wrong thing after. Like the third name right there. Hey Yeah yes may delay the Anna demand and what did you hear Ya? What did I say to you last time? That's what my name is today as like. We have when you know you meet somebody too many times and then when you've met them so many times you can I ask them their name again because you look like a Dick and I'm bad with faces and names so I'll be talking to people and I'm like next to Mitchell while they're saying Maria to see you again and I'd be like so now I just when I see people. I'm just like I don't know anybody's name. I if I'm with somebody I'll pimp them. I'll be like go. Go Ask your name and I'm listening. Sometimes that doesn't work sometimes they they won't say their name. Right. You know what I mean every once in a while they just be like good to meet you when you black you know okay. Yeah they're not do bay sweetie homey all of those and then I'll try to get them to like pull up something instagram's Agassi they name on. This did your citizens. Sometimes you know you know following them too much. Time has passed and it's like wheat like there's so many people on Instagram that. I have friends who in real life that I didn't follow in time and now it's too late. I feel like for me to follow them back now. Coming up they instagram on. They phone they don't have to know if you follow them and then I look at they name. It's so hard to like is hard. I'm GonNa get the name you go tell me the name and I'm going to get it without the embarrassment of forgetting but now. How many people are you texting that? You didn't save their number and you have no idea who it is which had full conversations with 'cause I'm also there is okay. That's very fugro behavior. Oh Yeah just twelve three. Well I only do that for people if I'm like okay. They're expendable but if they stay. I try to put a pitcher in in cow. And that's for anybody who don't make your special if you see your photo phone because I guess I'm just raggedy just a raggedy as human beings club numbers like for the weekend in Vegas and you about to get us at the spice and the tables and see cook and have it not saved cooking dinner and last Roddy choose. Oh we used to ice go to Vegas and not pay for anything parties. Know someone looking like what you'd go to work okay. We have made a Tantrum. We are back. 'cause he delaney. Nancy Anna Yeah you get it so. She made friends with accomplished authors especially writers trying to find a way into the writing world. She branded herself as an intersectional feminist. Okay intersection shoeshine with the blog. Which is too. She was like intersectional sensitive to issues of race class and LGBTQ concerns as well as genda supportive victims of trauma. So this tells me that she is scamming. Every minority in every box ally. What do I lady she was like? I'm a position myself as an Rachel. Dole's all we are this. I'm sorry Oh get your whatever. Her name is now. Nancy Maciel is all up so she positioned herself as a connection between worlds published and the published the successful and the hopefuls. Use a socialite. Now here talking everybody. Everybody's so who she really was. The woman who introduced herself to Angelinos as Anna March was born Nancy law so Nancy Lopez her real good. Nancy Loftus the real government. She was raised in Maryland and her mother was involved in local democratic politics court records. Show that Nancy law with the same birthday pleaded guilty in a case involving a political campaign. So my sister's been doing crime in so many different areas and I really just admire her ambition when it comes to fraud and an NBA commitment to it. Yes okay. Her commitment to chicanery is really worthy of being price. She's gone to different. Industries is just love. It definitely like the scammers holiday exactly. So according to the report from the Maryland State Prosecutor for fiscal year nineteen ninety-two. Nancy was a treasurer of the political campaign and was ordered to pay restitution of eighteen thousand dollars receive psychiatric care and serve five years probation so go to jail. Don't pass go don't collect two hundred dollars and let her keep shoelaces. Chaz so they have a quote from her that says in an open letter she said did I sign a campaign finance report with erroneous information nearly thirty years ago in Nineteen Ninety when I was twenty one yes was I on five years probation and did I pay eighteen thousand dollars in restitution. Yes she writes in her. Open letter the court records. Show that she did not complete her probation. How do you not complete your probation? Don't you just have to get in trouble for years? Isn't that what we have to like do? Hours of community service or NAT be Brown or black right. Yeah because we have to finish ours. She was like I think I'm done. I think I I feel like enough probation for me. Tom Yeah today I woke up. I was really just being full of probation. And I'm all set. Yeah thank you so much though. I'll see myself out later in her. Twenty s lot married and split from a man in New York. She kept his name accrues but she didn't use it right away so she did. Get this new name legally by Marian some full. Tom Cruise hurt it penelope Cruz. Data crew now crews sounds the same when I say that loses the with a Z or crew K. Are you okay? Yes see in the mid nineteen ninety. She landed in San Diego where she called Herself Delaney Anderson. So this is a departure. A Anderson's she was looking at. You know how when you see something like like say the first corny like movies. My name is lotion toothpaste. Yes toothpastes Lucite. Nice to meet you lotion. Tooth Pain Lotion. Toothpaste the third. So one of her victims so she moves right. She lands in San Diego. She called Herself Delaney Anderson. One of her victims was a woman named Judy Reeves. Judy is the former director of the writing center. In San Diego Small nonprofit that provided classes and community for aspiring writers. So this is like a home for writers who are trying to get red. Honey you know the passing around their scripts or what did you call manuscripts? Excuse me as you know you all over even giving each other notes probably Ferguson and drinking red wine we know what happened. You fucking on top of old smelly books smells like cigarettes or something like old people involved both because you know. Young people aren't really be reading writing books though there's are probably younger people if they have a riding club. It's in my when I think authors. I still think old people you right but you know what that's young now i. I'm sure there are a lot of legitimate young authors. I know there are for certain but also now and I guess you could have always done this but a lot of books or like Instagram. Have Books and their New York Times bestseller. Sookie is a bestseller remember? Look I love sticky and so does be outside beyond did sneaky got an Ivy park box. Shane get up. Okay but like run into. There's video of it. I saw. Where like she ran into them and she stopped smoking issues like live. You could say right. This is you got me. They they they tell the story all the time. But yes so Anderson Remember. Her name is now Delaney Anderson. Stay with me. This is Nancy now. She delaying she started as a volunteer. Judy says that she was so enthusiastic. And full of good ideas that she hired her making her. The director Delaney was charming telling stories of how her mother worked for the White House and once I am the police of aim. It cost dress. Let's Jimmy Carter's what the Jimmy caught. A Presidential Library says that it has no records indicating that cruises mother was ever staff member. Damn her mom was the Butler heard you. Her mother was his. What's his name with is from the move whitaker? Thermometers Forest Whittaker. Not In the records and that with is yes. So did the fingers she did to our king so during Delaney's time in San Diego she launched a gala called literary lights that included a fundraising auction and she enticed famous authors to come to San Diego to accept literary prizes. She doesn't made up a prize using this foundation's name which they've been around before she came around and they start getting the girls to pull up for their accolades. And I'm sure you're a writer like even if you're a famous writer it's not like I don't know what John Grisham look like John. Grisham could run over. Yeah you yeah. We're not looking at the inside jacket to see what these authors look. I can't even tell you what Stephen King was just thinking about that. I feel like he's bald. Has Glasses though? He's so famous Eagle walking here right now as star little story and we were like the bathroom is down there. You need to go on twitter. Get Out of. He would like to thank people like awards. Yeah have you if Utah Somebody. They're getting on the scam. That's how you scammed people. It is people with Egos are like. Oh I want something you want me to accept it at such and such place right. I'm pulling up now. You want me to take photos of me. Are Post them so that you can get publicity for. You're absolutely right and he's like. Oh you need my social so meet so I can get these photos. Getty images they don't they don't have enough okay. Social it is new skin feeling. Okay go ahead though chasing them with prizes. Right Judy. Recalls that Delaney was presenting great financial reports but in one thousand nine hundred eighty eight and a fiction notice appeared at the writing center. She wasn't paying the rent. Oh honey now. My Girl Delaney was lining her package with all day money. Day money's all delaney so all of a sudden. They realized they broke when they are being evicted. Something like this actually happened to me. Where like my own roommates? When I lived with people wasn't paying for like three months and I was trying to upgrade the apartment. I was Outta town. And we all paid individually. I came back and I was like. Oh I WANNA get a Washer and dryer here and I want to read to yeah accent. Wall here was like yeah. That'd be great a pay the rent I and I said we'll just hit and he was like I'm drawn up fiction papers as we speak so I haven't been scammed like that happened to one of my friends to. He was paying rent to his roommate and his roommate was always like traveling going Europe. He's in South Africa and they got evicted. Because he was he was using his rent money to travel the world. That's what he was like. My passport is expired. Like I haven't even been to them places and he's like while your money has Sam shout out to your coins and that sucks because when you have a roommate if you get addicted like I had to pay. She did pay you back for that. But I think that's 'cause she knew I was crazy but It doesn't matter if you were paying like. Everybody gets into fiction on their credit and on their like history. So be having now so. This is bad for this writing center so an emergency. Board meeting was scheduled with Delaney but before dawn that day. She tacked note to Judy. Sprint door average Fan Adam. Work for you anymore. Said the note. Doesn't she heard what the sex and the city posted? I'm sorry I can't. I live a node in the hallway by the topic is lab. Risque him in some for the Nikki. Yes so that's where smokey but yes she left a note and then dipped out. It takes me. What are they GONNA do? I mean like I don't want WanNa find her her name and also like please hear me when I say this Whoever is working with the money there should always be someone auditing them. You should never just have. One person who has solar is about no company has one person who is solely responsible for the money. They always hire a hater. You know somebody who's had a hard life you know been kicked around. They hold me watch that person and they get joy from Hayden not. Let's just deal no money? You gotTa hire a one person to handle money in a hater to watch them and she was out here like I thought she was a volunteer. Came everyone nobody volunteer. They said she went from volunteer writer director. Though I mean that sounds like how good were the stories that she was? She would've lovely young lady. Do you need a job as president of everything we do here? Yeah that was definitely on Judy. Judy a volunteer to handles all your money with no supervision oversight. Just wow but you know. She was also gowns beautiful. Ganz she was getting the Grisham. The king's whoever to come down and accept these awards so they're probably not paying attention. She's doing a great job. Hang up job. She banged up job so anderson. That's our last name Delaney Anderson Remember. That's a fake name. She left San Diego and that name behind door payroll my says. Well she just. I guess you didn't need to get paid because she was still volunteer in their eyes. She's paying herself handsomely to so three years later she was in Washington. Dc calling herself. Nancy Kruse now. That's our married name. Yes she met and married a film historian Andrew Smith and landed a job in direct mail fundraising. It's fundraising this. Will she loved one? What did her resume. Look like because I feel like I need to link truly I do not know but all I know is like if there's a fund to be raised go raise it. She raise it right into her. Raise up okay and I can't sorry that's literally what you love. Sorry I can't don't hate me. Don't hate me. I love it so she met and married film. This film historian and she landed a job in a fundraising direct mail fundraising company at a public radio station so basically she was doing direct mail fundraising for public radio station. Wamu AT THIS TIME. Nonprofits were transitioning many could see the possibility of using the Internet from Front Arising. But they didn't have the expertise to begin crews swooped in and created a CA- Sultana for NASA crus- plus partners a cruise plus Delaney. And the old. Yeah so she does this as her first client boasting a hundred fifty thousand dollar success on the company website after her apparent success for cruise company was hired to run a national online fundraising auction that encompasses radio stations including. Kpcc the contract. They got the contract because she played a per quaker background and feminist beliefs. This is how she got as they said they got the contract and I got confused because I don't know who they is she got all. The scammers is a quaker. Oh quakers are like peaceful like their religion is all about peace and like like just being chill quaker friend in two thousand nine hundred twenty. Yes she's I think. She's still a quaker shots. Emily but she's like one of the nicest people I've ever met in my life. Just telling me all about quaker church and I was like this sounds lit waker church. Sounds I mean it's quiet? It's very quiet the services short though right you know. Get your Jesus and go. Have you three hours? I Blake Jesus does not need to be as we go fellowship after this. It's going to be food. And then you stay for the food. But I don't that's after you've worked through the three and a half hours of service and don't let it be know Kinda showcase day where I gotTa Watch all untalented talk about it. Who let them use you? Look take me now. Lord. Gods didn't give everybody the same instruments. Okay guys sometimes using it singing. Sometimes it's passing programs. You GotTa know what your strength is maybe shrink this fundraising and stealing okay. Yes like our girl Delaney. So she got all of these fundraising opportunities and I think this is happening because think about like public radio stations thing about the time period. This is like early. Two thousands right they know about the fact that like these are probably all run by old S. Y. Dudes who are so deeply out of touch and they just see a young person. Who's like they're like? You know how to use the interwebs. Cook you made one hundred fifty thousand dollars for windfall up. I know exactly you know. And she's like a like. Oh that's what the young people waker so so sweet love it. So each of the fifteen stations paid crews and partners and also we doing a company. You've got to say you partners partners. They paid her amounts of eight thousand seven hundred dollars to sixty eight thousand four hundred dollars to participate when the auction finished. Oh this is like damn cheap rent an auction and she ran an auction for them. The revenue totaled six hundred thousand six hundred seventy seven thousand nine hundred sixteen dollars which says she did an auction right right crew. Sit Ten thousand dollars to nine of the stations then no more and the rest received no repayment at all so she had an auction. Yeah she raised almost seven hundred thousand dollars per cent. Ten Thousand Dollars to skull people so basically. She's out ninety thousand dollars so she sent ten thousand dollars to nine stations like congratulations. Here's your fundraising. That oh do and no more okay. Cool HALF MIL. He should get back here and partners. Okay why does she stay two hundred grand then? Nobody would be made right. Because you know she's GonNa take more after that okay so fun regime professional who had joined her team metric. She really got to take some of her. Co-workers paychecks bounced and in her case. No deposits were made to her retirement account. So this wasn't so she got paychecks but a 401k. 401 not okay. Four One K. by four one. K. Key by so previous employees of crews and close the Office. They had insurance that had been paid for but one of the staff members needed medical care and trying to use his insurance found out that he did not have any so. This badge was taking money out of their checks. May like this is going to the Blue Cross and Blue Shield and was not pay. That's the quaker way baby. Quakers put that on quaker. I'm sorry if you if I go to the doctor and I don't have health insurance and I've been paying you for Health Insurance Nancy. You'RE GONNA get show Ashby. I'm a show him to work. Like everything is just fine. I'M GONNA WHOOP. Your mother is just time braids up. Just right I show you at the water found like yeah wash the bachelor. I can't believe he ain't Sarah Q. Anyway Water igloos upside the head. Are you kidding me well? Then she got really lucky because it took them that long need to go to the doctor right. She probably made like Dow's of nobody getting sick. She here hiring the healthiest employee as she let. Let me see your physical fitness exam results. Just like why do I have to run a mile before the interview? This is that we do it partners and then come back and see if your winded also do you have any History of illness like why. Are you asking me this? Exactly what you Nancy when you doing this. Kinda Shit because like people's healthcare and especially in America no girl we don't fuck with that in February two thousand five crews abruptly shut down the business. I'm sure by posted note as she fell short shorts ashore she notified clients by email technology. Okay that the company does not have any financial assets. Can you imagine working at a place and they just get emailed Money by listen. That happens more often than you. Will you live in New York City? That happens all the time. Do Not many times I show up to a place that was opened the day before. And then it's close to New York. We'll have it all the time and I learned because I was talking to somebody about it I was like. Why are they shut down like not telling their employees and stuff? They're like if you tell your place that you're shutting down the business but you want to keep it open for a few more days. They'll steal from you like had the last day of work be a secret from everybody. And then he's put chains on the doors but just imagine like the people who like they they saving up or they bind tickets for some vacation with the family. You know what I mean. You make your plans for the future. You're trying to get a washer dryer right. Trying to get a whisper shut toilet and then you go to work in your life and it's not. It's never like Mondays. Probably like a hello Wednesday on Thursday or Tuesday. You're like way up. Hello Employment My my keycard and I working. And that's the other thing is like this is not a bar. This is like a job job so be pulling up. Sit in joint. Their key cards are working. They MR OLDEST MR own worth. I'm sorry sorry. I was told not to talk. They show agoos cocaine Dale. You're right it is so skill though table to something like this for many years in many different places. She's fantastic like the also the places she's working for. She worked for a nonprofit. This is a business. She started herself. So who's really going to be able to look for her other than the people who she employed and the thing about employees is like they normally don't have the resources to get the best lawyers. I like out here working the day to day which I have done I'm not particularly interested in seeking long-term justice for something. I'm probably more motivated by like. I have to get another job right. That's what your focus is I because a lot of their checks when bouncing and they can't go to the doctor was like. I can't even sing that song. Lhasa made it. I'm like bounce in never a those I I would happen. Bad Prison Black people you know probably is happening. Balancing I'm sorry but it will find a murder she wrote. It's your clue and people anyway. Whatever so a report explained that cruise company received a large volume of payments from credit card companies which represented payments on auctions and use those funds to make partial payment to the various public radio station without any regard for accounting for the proceeds so basically her company appears to have used the balance of money received for the options to pay operating expenses and other debts. So nobody was getting overturn on there. So the how much she was getting paid to provide the service that she was getting. Yes she was providing yes she just was taking all of the money yes so she was like. I'll take your money and pay some of my employees. Some of them I. I'll pay them but I'll just like steal the insurance tax that I'm taking wild but then I also take the money that you gave me. Which essentially so that. I can run my business in our pocket that but do you know how smart you have to be to be that evil. And if you're that smart you could just keep making money just regular. That's the crazy part about Nancy. Because a lot of times I get scammers and I'm like okay. Their whole industry is fraud. Where it's like. You are very good at fraud. This is dabbling into intellect. This could have been a legitimate. Obviously there was a need for what you were doing. You got clients. Why not? Just BE ON THE UP. Because the money's too slow. Yeah and and Delaney Massey. She want her money in Delano partners. Our Anderson Cooper. Whatever else she is. She needs the money issue. He's all she's willing to move houses u-haul on like just on the company just rent to go into always have that gassed up u-haul and it's on my dad car. My Uncle Stan here and he he needs it like she's ready to flee from the authorities at anymore he's always catch me if you can understand that a little bit. I do so while using the name Nancy crews and continuing to ingratiate herself with writer. She's still doing the writer decide which I did not know. She's a multifaceted queen really keeping up with these other things so she told Mary Beth Fisher a renowned novelist and essays that she had signed to book deals and had gone to the national book awards with her friend. Malcolm glad well okay. That's driving now. What's the also like? This is the but I gotTa Tell Ya Malcolm on Epstein plane anyways on those logs. She got married and became Nancy creuse. And that's when creuse was the one who was stealing from the radio but this but in between that she wouldn't Laney Anderson and Delaney was stealing from the writers in San Diego. So it goes Nancy Loft Delaney Anderson Nancy crus- then and now we arrive at and March. Okay Okay can you get your whiteboard? Mind pins with the ring okay. So now Anna March and now she's dating a new man. I love that men are part of these scam. Actually she doesn't have a problem getting good for you. Fabric photo her is she's sexy. Dipoto to- right in La. Everyone will dip a toe but also like people if you use the right names right and you tell people they're going to be there then. The other people will show absolutely the money on a look at houses. Cb on an aluminum and she this a little little clutch clutch so a year after her party. At Ace hotel. He told The Times she had not been honest with him about her pass. This was painful and this was a painful and costly chapter of my life. He said so he did leave her so he probably started picking up forms. It'd be like Nancy Loft. Nancy Kruse delaying me Anderson. Like yeah brought us in different women. That sounds exciting. Okay like orphan. Blink nobody wants to sit in the real life fake ass allies we round this out so march found sanctuary in industry. That's eight percent white. Seventy two percent ciswomen here. She was rarely challenged. March started a new project in fall of two and sixteen after the election of Donald Trump. Now you know the Negroes and sixteen okay. So she's been doing this for like cool thirty years. I love to see it. I don't love the people that she heard. I hate that the way she did. But like the dedication you know what I mean lifetime. Achievement Award of Scans. I'm starting to award guys award. Show you just have to pay ten thousand dollars to come. We'll get images and two thousand dollars a plate. It's a plate a plate because we raising awareness is right to raise awareness about awareness a gala. Yes there will be a theme so twenty sixteen after the election of Donald Trump which was just really rough roar an online magazine of literature and Revolution by feminist people. This is what she started. She started raw. She started for an online magazine of literature and revolutionary by feminists people okay. I don't even know what that means. I had to read. It is so this is a new Nancy Cruzan partners. She's at Nancy crews and bitches because I'm a feminist so using go fun more raised about forty nine thousand dollars. Nobody knows how to raise money. Like my girl okay. I love it but her former executive director says she had hard time getting that money to roars writers. That sounds familiar. We were saying. We're an intersectional feminist magazine. Promising to challenge the patriarchy. But we didn't do what we said we would do. This is critics and people who are working at the magazine and then other critics accuse march of using her connections to prominent writers from marginalized communities to gain credibility as an intersectional FA- feminists and exploit other writers. I mean I think the moral of the story here is to stop writing anything. I mean she was reading the emails. She's about a good writer. She wrote emails. Shirow Post Foam Fund me. She wrote an email. She wrote like a website right. Because you had to google something that's true. She had to have a website a Venezuelan. Arthur Elizabeth Coleman believes March used a fake profile to infiltrate a facebook group for women writing stories of trauma. She says. I responded to a call for submissions to roar magazine. That was posted in our group. So we'll try to the group and it was like hey sisters it's me difinitely. A black and a black blacks. I mean sisters Sistrin Down Hager wrong and this is like me. Yes definitely Brown. Anyway I was just being black but I thought I'd take a moment. I thought I took a break from doing that. From being so black and tell you about a job opportunity that I love me with my naps may period period. Everything that's on periods. Would you like to write periods so yes March? So she posted this March claim to have loved her story on abortion enough to offer her position as an editor of the roar abortion column. So this girl goes response to the submission for roar submits story about abortion and then march is like. I love this abortion story so much like you should be our abortion column editor. Because that's how many stories writing about abortion and we have a column Okay and we meet him editor. Yeah sounds like sex in the city but but trauma. Okay every column Carl. I couldn't help but wonder what was my baby doing now. Wonder we're with my baby beef. I hadn't killed it. Okay on. Carrie Bradshaw I'm crying literally. Yes so that's the job was offered call me and was tasked with publishing original story a day for her column but went. Submissions dried up great choice of words. She says March pressured her to plagiarize other online publications. Mashed you gotta start stealing abortion stories from other play hold on. She was supposed to write an abortion story a day every day three day. How many kids are they killed over there? Wow she was like steal someone's story about their abortion so call me and says I was not going to steal so I always credited the source. Did she did take it but she credited the source and that's what she did and then she said what. I submitted my. She told me I would only get paid five dollars per article because they were not all stories now. Writers get paid online and in papers by the word. Wait a minute. We didn't discuss my fee before flew up here from Venezuela. Does what you're telling me right now. No she been this way. Lynn showed up. No she didn't get fluid out. She was already there. She was local. She's doing it for the locals but yeah every writing. I run the sad as dead baby story every pigmy five dollars for that fetus. Imagine what has to do for your mental health that you have to. If you've even live this trauma yourself. You have to continue and I was GONNA say trauma. It's not only trauma gadget your choice and also like. Hey honestly though I mean plan is only forty eight dollars. So we're normalizing this shit because it's healthcare anyway but still there's sometimes you have trauma with it. So like but yeah. That's a lot to have to write that every day and get paid five dollars so she said what the Hell is reading roar out right if you've ever read read right so she did not just target women of color. That's what they're saying. She also targeted new writers. That were women of Damn say should talk to. Why wouldn't it wasn't as black women? It was also black women who were new. It was bald girls. It was black girls with brave is black. Rose would like to twist in the poor black women. Some of them were rich. Bank way. We'RE BLACK. It wasn't just dark skinned girls. It was also with some currency twist all right so. I'm home right now. Rivers applied to roar after learning march was recruiting fresh Latina political writers. You Know Young. Aoc's to write for her. She says I only received one payment which was very late and I'm still owed five hundred dollars. Many writers mostly marginalized tweeted stories about how Anna bullied them into editing for her magazine bailed on payments cancelled retreats with no notice say retreat and threatened them. Okay I'm sorry. This lady that we were just looking at her picture was bullying Black Women. Yes to do work that they get paid for. This should have beat her up. I'm telling you pull up like I. Just think that if people have more. Fear in their hearts disrespected them financial. You might also get disrespected. They would stop doing this. Shit just know. If you don't pay me I will show up at your home. I have time all right. Listen even if you pay me on my show up late leave early so if you're not paying like so anna today. She now tells people that she has three books. Not Two but three almost ready. She's returned to re rail. Both this is definitely plays a white. People live Rehoboth Delaware. I was says you just said Delaware. We didn't even where she planned a problem for adults in April to benefit a local community center then canceled it. How'd you band somebody from raising money? Because you should not be. She goes on funding access. Should be blocked like she should panhandle way so she hasn't been arrested. Now she's still out here just thriving and she's been posting photos from the local bar on social media but after the time square inquiry. She's deleted her accounts. Okay well I was. GonNa say what's up I Anna March. Now it could be. Anna could be Nancy. Kruse loft or Delaney Delaney and a nasty cruise. You are a terrible person okay. Well when's the with her? When is her movie come out? I don't know it's coming out soon. Scam power. I guess it's time for the end of the show along. You Guys Got Lucky. And this is where we scammer of the week. Oh and honor one charlatan. Who's truly worthy of praise? And today that is tip talker. Okay Halls Zimmer Paul Zimmer okay that sounds like a name of Saudi Google. Lol Guy named troy got it so now he's like Oh my God troy a follow him. I'm done Paul. Zimmer is dead but it's just him with like blonde like he changed his hair. That's IT I love it. So bekker's instagram tagged by Zimmer showed an account with very few followers with Becker saying only that he was blessed to be filming a TV show so Zimmerman is now trying to redirect all his followers to this new account which is just him with different hair he looks the same doesn't look ninety.
