"A look at our roadways were saying some pretty heavy congestion out there on all of the freeways. And if you're heading north about on 35 right around Grand Avenue Parkway, we have reports of a collision South on on 35 just past William Cannon. It's a broken down vehicle that's causing that backup to Ben White and then also a broken down vehicle on the left shoulder of the express Lane, Mo Pak North bound approaching Stack. I'm Melinda Brilliant with Austin's on time traffic step up to quote Welcome back Sports stock. Jason head and Vito ate 3605 ninety's The phone number. 51283605 90 now inside, do them at 47 hours until the kickoff of Texas and Oklahoma State. On Saturday from Stillwater. We ask you a very important question who wore it better be toe or Coach Gundy, who's mullet became a point of great contention between the two of you Yesterday. I believe it's on our Twitter page right now. Our Facebook page and all social media sports talk, Kale be Jane from everywhere. Are you sure it's okay to talk about this for a city? Okay, family, and I will vote for your Mollet Beato. Really? Yeah. Really, just to make up for I besmirch me yesterday. Probably. Yeah, but Gundy, where's it Pretty good. And he's wanted proudly for years and years and years because you'll wear that Where is O n and it will go. Fishing, but no, I think we're still doing there's one of them. That just did what she I just want to say yes. Sportstalk LBJ to see the photo. Thank you, Jason for creating that the side by side of your brother Beato and Coach Way had Dave Hunziker on the voice of the Cowboys yesterday, and he said that gun he's got a mini Mullen. That's a gun D million anymore. Honey, that looks like a full figure is But then I was like a gundy. Mullet 2020, and he must have turned it because it was like, maybe down to his back. He asked his bad. Yeah, they've told us that he's done with it. Is he not done with it? I tell you when you google Mike Gundy, Mullet? I was I was assembling this photo today. My phone now is littered with Mike Gundy picks. But there is just a wealth of options. I didn't I just Googled Mike Gundy 2020. And check out the photos of like the of him being on field this year, and he's still it's healthy and I just want to say I'm going up against a legend, his mullet, not him him himself. He's a man. He's 40. He was 40. Now he's 50 50. Yeah, Beato so far, 64% of the sports talk listeners say Mike Gundy Ward. Oh, man, this guy the wrong way, Guys, do you see, almost win and win it at Clement's yesterday. I would also just like to say, you know, I'm not One to make excuses, But I just I took a quick pic trying to look like Gundy Incentive. T m I I I didn't have like chance to style or get a trim them my like yours that I like the way you do it the way I like it a little while. They're my Gandhi. He keeps it a little bit too much in line for me. That's the one I got to go Check out Leo at Lotus Blue Hair salon. I need a little trim here. I'm gonna send us a little top off the years. And I'm telling you, it's get the waterfall in the back is just gonna grow But sports talk LBJ to check out the side by side. I'm gonna get in this competition. I'm just sending this to fit to Brandon. That one. My quarantine that look that is the Ed Clement skull. What is the long term plan for this moment? Beano? Is that ah, man, just where living my best lifeguard pandemic, JD, Okay. Look, I like that. I tried to get all three of us to be brothers in mullets, but this was May 13th at 601 P. M after the show after a few. Yeah, a letter. Cut it. Do the guys across town bring you this level of Mullah content. I don't think they do. I don't think they have the balls to girl, Molly. I don't think they do man on the game. Texas and this continues to surprise me that the Longhorns are still just a 3.5 point dog in this game. I mean, because Oklahoma I can't tell, you know, trust the Vegas linesman. Acres. They literally, you know, make, they're gonna write their lives. They're living on this. So, so usually they know, and a nun defeated top 10 Number six in the country team. I don't know if it's disrespect for Oklahoma State, or if it was just it's just respect they have for the Texas brand. I think it's respect for the Texas brand and I had a friend today in Fort Worth called and said He's a big Longhorn fan. I'm waiting for the day when they play their complete game because last week wasn't a complete gaming. It's better. When will the day come when they get out the Texas Texas and they're complete main game this season will be nice and say it might not be the season guys. But, yeah, I mean, I think that's it will take that to win this game because as they told us yesterday, this is ah, This is not the Oklahoma State team that you're used to seeing. It's going to put up a whole bunch of points and then you know, play a big high scoring game. They've played really well defensively on top 10 in the nation defensively, Jay and they stopped the run and they've got a really good pass defense. And they only allowed 12 points per game and it scares me. It's gonna be a nightmare scenario. If Texas can't run. Can't run the ball and you got Sam out there reside. Sam, please. Yeah, but some running naked out there getting his clock cleaned. That's that's a bad scenario they've got to get. They've got to get the run game going. Tell you if there's any more of those just kind of what I appear, Tio would say would be those inept penalties after the place and everything like that Those are you cannot in any game, obviously, but this is one of those words like Dude, you can't That's going to really kill you. I'm not worried offensively about this team. I think they're going to get theirs. And I think they have really, Yeah, I will. With the thing that I would be worried about. Is. Can you tackle Tuba? Hubbard? Alright, A town that's got tackling problems. You're playing probably the best running back in college football on Saturday, and that's not a good time to have tackling problems. On. So Yeah. Can they clean that up? It was better versus Baylor. It was not, you know, embarrassing as it has been in the other scenarios for this team this season. So cleaning that up, I think would be I mean, that would be the first key to a Longhorn victory and the scary thing I believe for Longhorn fans. As you look at the schedule, there's only one gimme. There's only one Gimme. That's Kansas. Because West Virginia is not not that bad. Thankfully, Texas gets him at home. Then you've got Kansas in Kansas, which is a joke. Beato could start for for Texas against Kansas. Don't put that responsibility on me. But then the day after Thanksgiving at Iowa State, I would states not a bad team, and then you the end the season on the road at Kansas State, and, gosh, that's this mo. That has danger written all over that game. Yeah, it is looking at more treacherous than it was this case scenario When we go up there to Stillwater. We beat them for the first time ever unranked while they're on the right.

All About the new 'Jurassic World' short film 'Battle at Big Rock'

"New story that I want to talk about as well which which is a PC guy saying this tomorrow night during these et Jurassic world short film Jomie model at Big Rock which I thought was pretty pretty cool but I don't WanNa hear you guys talk about it. Instead of wanting to hear the guy he made it talk about it. Will you please welcome drastic world and the upcoming world three three and indeed the director all the big. Please welcome ah the I just want to thank all of you. I brought my children tonight so thank thank you for introducing them to many new words. I'm so sorry so many questions to answer wants dinner so yes colon thanks to lay down man for everything you were born so listen this short film by the big rock very very exciting. What can you say about what's what happened is so the universal came to us and asked if I wanted to make a short film with their money and I said yes definitely we can put dinosaurs in it and we'll do it and so we're not enough if any last film at the very end we really just change the franchise? Even is as we said all these dinosaurs loose in the world and so it led us a just think about what that really means and take a bit of a step away from our weaponized dinosaurs hybrids and all these things that we've been doing in these in these movies and really just go back to basics and and make a short film about a family campground who just like anyone who's been camping. Sometimes you see a bear going through your garbage and we replaced that with an ceratops yeah. We we go from there because I I've seen a little short films in my life almost every single one of them stand to have a dinosaur and it's you're not the besmirch short films but this is the dream just take a dinosaur and then you're good we list of films that I think what would have been even more amazed ashamed with films that I want to have a dinosaur in them. All Jess I found that amazing movie with Robert Redford all his lawsuit aw I remember watching it incredible movie and I was so ashamed that about two thirds of the way through there could be a Muslim source would be okay with that. I would be alright Robert Redford versus versus the Mosasaurus all along the money would be the most horse tough you never know he's very resourceful so when this we shot in Ireland in January January of last year and we managed to keep it a secret the Irish keep secret added stars Andre Holland who many US probably seen in castle rock if that's out here in Selma is incredible actor Natalie Martinez who is an end of watch and his amazing amazing actress and these two kids that no one's ever seen before who I love so much it was it was like shooting in movie we had five days and we all had to get together with this pretty. Small Irish crew one set and find a way to do something pretty pretty challenging in a short period of time with not same resources that we're used to and everyone was down at the buffet every morning which there's an excellent buffet at this point this out at this hotel in Ireland that we're we're all in this sweet little girl who was in the in the short had never been in anything before and we asked her you know she her mom called and said Bull. I oh I get I get get first class tickets to come out because you're guaranteed a first class taking per guild rules but she really wants her whole family there. Is there anything you can do and I was like well what I do with my my family is usually we'll just we won't take the first class and we'll fly. Everybody and you can fly business if you do that and so she said great and so this van pulls up and just one one after another ten people baby and grandma everybody get out of the van and they were Swedish. There was amazing BEC- it coat from winter in Philadelphia incredible but I'd love to this is happening. Do you think this might spark a trend. Is this something that you would have loved to done and for the first Jurassic World Yeah it is the result of a you know I think it's because our we don't make three movies a year in our franchise and and and we don't even make one movie a year and we're we're a little more old school and that we every three years and we ask people to come and see a dinosaur movie and so it to be able to have something in the middle because the story that we're about to tell in the next film is so different and so large in scope that it was. I just really wanted to do something that was that was just very intimate and small. There are dinosaurs in it but it's a small intimate dinosaur fight. What can you say about where you are with the next Jurassic World World we are? I live here in England and I've been here for three years and we have our our offices out at studios and we've got everyone. They're carving being dinosaurs out of of clay. I can announce here that I have. If any do saw the dark crystal on Netflix John Nolan who did all the animatronic Dr Crystal is going to do our animatronic for us and so he's bringing starting to actually build things in his workshop and seeing what he's able to do with is Enjoin Movement and he's really innovating a really exciting way speaking emphasis on animatronic again there are large and small and we actually have an animatronic in in battle a big rock that was done by legacy by the guys who you know Stan Winston's group before they all have carried on that tradition so we had this the massive allosaurus in Ireland and so everybody was my wife actually took a video of it that I'm sure I'll I'll tweet at some point because there's so much so much fun and energy behind it and that we finally we had this this massive thing that was sticking its head in and out of this camper van spoilers spoiler now but people and and it just this whole crew was actually watching this thing go down and you really feel like you're you're. You're in Jurassic Park when these things really get going and we play music and we play roars really loud so there's there's no element that isn't you know firing on all all cylinders and it's pretty exciting. Everyone applauded and we we felt like we were there. Outside of course in

Police shift "trajectory" of Jussie Smollett investigation

"Anyway, so the story goes so there are these two brothers that are involved in this case that now have changed their testimony. Apparently, they're from Nigeria, and, you know, but but again, think of what's happening here we had the hoax with BuzzFeed followed three days later by the Covington kids all of this on the heels of reckless innuendo and a rush to judgment to smear slander besmirched destroy the character of Justice Cavanaugh, and the media does it again, and again, and again to advance their political agenda in this particular case there while he was wearing it to brothers. He's wearing a maga- hat, and and saying, you know, make America great again CBS news points out. Well, now the story. Has changed a lot at CBS news dot com. The headline is brothers say jussie smollet paid them to participate in this alleged attack. The two Nigerian brothers arrested connection with the assault on empire. Actor jussie smollet a no longer suspects in the attack there now cooperating with the police the sources close to the investigation confirming to CBS news. "They're either going to announce this like coming by the end of the year at the event or with the press release the same day as the event. Right. If it's delayed, I don't think no mention into like the end November the no power press statement saying been canceled light. Yeah. Going to the no going to besmirch will be the happiness around the new ipads by saying, oh yeah. App, how screwed awebber pointed to the point they? Yeah, they definitely need to say something though because in needs to be definitive, it can't be. In a few weeks unless like you're positive on the date and it can't be like cannot be early twenty nineteen unless you're like positive like a month. Yeah. They've already said a year, which is twenty eight hundred, right? So they just. I think people flip suddenly went twenty nine. I said February, which is basically what they did for the homepod. Right. Then people kind of like give them a narrow in your timeframe every single time you say it? Yeah, I don't think home pod got him on, but ended up in February. And that's why they need to be like super specific or say, we don't know because this point they. You know, the role that will air pie airpower has had been negative more than innovative in isn't innovation when it ships ships. But like it's also got a lot of baggage now just because of how it was previewed with still. I think been finally released by September of this year, but they didn't. And now it still like just linger. Not there in the air pods thing is like super interesting because I know me like if I lost mine today, I feel strongly about replace and then because like I love my pods that much. But there are people who still haven't bought pods and who are waiting like it's probably not in large numbers. Of this crossover like no, about airpower about the charging case that's been shown, but it's Jerry number and as as you get closer to like, you know, further away from that preview gets worse, you know, and it's awkward. It's like, do you just do the charge in case and then have these rumors of the the new version hanging other too. No. But it doesn't seem like we get new airports at this event. Yeah, I think it's pretty clear. We're not getting like a second generation Madhu Dow becoming next year alongside the headphones, the beats three equivalent apple branded things, which they can do any of this any time. But that feels like fall stuff like next year, like big holiday stuff, not like middle of the year. I mean airplanes ended up being, you know, right before the holidays of year and like inventory was twinkly pushed back until February. So that was kind of like a middle of the year thing. Home podge the same way where like this is its first holiday season so they can. They can they want, but it's like if doing it on a plan then like next next fall feels like a nice thing to have an event. I think even the home, like a little price stroke because nice. Bump out for the holidays, like the softwares in good in relatively good shape. Now with two in recent times and speak offense stuff, which I love it, but it does seem expensive for the offering that that is if they give little price drop. That'd be nice. I think that probably not going to do airports case into the app house. It happens. And that definitely won't be an apples to this full like other companies different really Klopp to how good they like the less battery life. And people still believe like mass. "They've even been on the same calls and refuse to ask questions out of spite. I suppose, because they keep on saying only the FBI can ask questions, no senators. This is your job is invited consent, the confidentiality that the FBI provides that's not needed. Now the same penalties apply. If this investigation we're committed under penalty of perjury announced, haven't they talked to judge they have they have spoken to twice receive two different statements from it. Again. And getting a statement, why haven't they gone out and cross examined him if they can do the same thing that the FBI can do. This Senate Democrats were welcome to do that. This is a process that's opened side. They have boycotted the investigation process, even well claiming in the media. They want an investigation that is very disingenuous. They get coulda Pena for judge and he totally have Howard. Subpoena right now. I understand I, I'm not sure about how the subpoenas work, but I certainly know that all of the people they've invest. I know they've interviewed judge cavenaugh several times. I think they could've if the Democrats had one or two, I believe they could've asked to interview judge as well. But they have simply said, we don't want to participate in this process. Only the FBI can do it. They know that's not true. And if you look at what Senator Biden said back Justice, Thomas hearings. The FBI doesn't make credibility judgments that are so important to this. They don't try to decide the weight of the evidence they simply effectively take testimony. That's what the Senate Judiciary committee has been doing all week. The senators now have to decide what to do with that testimony. Carrie Severino. Thank you very much for being show this morning's good. So Daniel, we've gotta get Daniel Goldman. And here you've been shaking your head a few times what? Why? Why? Why can't we just stopped right now and start a FBI investigation. If the Republicans call for it, there's no reason. Okay. And I think there are a couple of problems here. First of all, the Senate committee staffers are not trained professional investigators to the letter from Mark. Judge is pretty meaningless because what you would really need to do to properly interview him is getting into a lot of the details of what was going on. Look at that July first entry in the calendar of bread Kavanagh ask, there's a. You could easily figure out what house that was that, then you can figure out whether the description matches what professor for talks about. There are many ways to find corroboration or not or not corroboration if you want. And so we're left with a situation where because of the delays as Joe pointed out with the Democrats and how they may have handled this, the Kerry Severino and other seemed to be saying that it doesn't matter anymore. What's out of the bottle that can't be put back in. So that's exactly the question. And I think it's really important to understand that the Senate committee investigation is not the same as an FBI investigation. That's not what they're meant to do. And we know that in part because the Senate Judiciary committee reopens background investigations all the time this exact for and let's just stop pretending that this isn't about keeping more judge away from FBI agents. Everybody watching knows it. It It doesn't. doesn't. They conserve, you're saying just jammed this through. It's gone on long enough. They know it. They could. You can start them working today. They could be done by Monday. There's a small group of people that they can go to and the Republicans and the White House and Chuck Grassley don't want that to happen Jon Meacham. So we have a new horror movie that's going to be coming out this summer, revenge of the Clintons. When judge Kavanagh's spoke of the revenge of the Clintons. My mind immediately went back to Hillary Clinton on the today, show talking about the vast right wing conspiracy. It's history Brian's. It sure does. And that was among the most revealing things said yesterday, it clearly cast a bright light on the narrative. That's the movie if you will, that's playing in in the heads of the nominee and his his supporters. This is the idea is that they are trying to take on take out someone who was critical in the Starr investigation. To me, it's the most interesting parallel. We've all been talking for several reasons about the twenty-seven year cycle from judge Thomas and the forty-one administration. This is much more about nine hundred ninety eight than it is nineteen Ninety-one..

"That's disgraceful and it's and it's very discouraging to see at the end of the day, we still don't have any corroboration of prevents eye-witnesses. She put there say they don't remember this party your her lifelong friend. Even though she supportive of Dr. Ford says, I don't think I even know Brett Cavanaugh. I don't think I was ever at a party with him. We ended the day kind of more questions than we began it in terms of that because there are a few different details also that shifted, which isn't surprising after thirty six years of memory. I think at the end of the day, the senators kind of have one clear choice and it's are you going to engage in in supporting a vicious campaign on the part of some Democrats, or are you going to vote firm? One of the one of the most highly qualified and respected judges in the nation. Curious, really, guys see this morning. You said you found Dr four to be a compelling witness after hearing her testify yesterday, do you believe she suffered a sexual assault? I think she may well have. I just think the evidence points, the fact that it was not Brett Cavanaugh who is involved. And do you believe when she says there was one hundred percent when she was pressed that it was Brett Kavanagh. There was no mistake in her mind. Why don't you believe her on that part of it? I think she, I think she is very confident in her own mind, but we know that with time and with frankly, some of the same. The same impacts of trauma that she herself described, it can be it can be hard to be accurate. We, we all know this. You know that the eyewitness testimony at trials, even from people who are outside and watching the a car crash can be difficult to trace down. There's a lot of a lot of literature on that. So I think we have to look at the outside corroborating evidence. There isn't much contemporaneous evidence and the people that she points to his being. There don't support that story. I think when you have an uncorroborated allegation like this, and that's the only way you have it's unapproved inappropriate to then take that into Stroia man's reputation that he's built up over. So many years of public service went on his side. You have dozens of people who say, this isn't anything like the Brett Cavanaugh. We knew through high school in the decades thereafter. Kip then carry that it may well have been Brett cavenaugh, but you need to see more evidence before you decide. Well, I know I don't think the evidence all of the evidence points to the fact. That it wasn't. So I think it seems like by the FBI say, I think it would have been helpful. I suppose to interview these these witnesses beforehand by the FBI when said that Senator Feinstein received this, that would have own questionably have been the correct result handed them just like Senator Biden did. However, the reason we sequestered jury, for example, so that you don't have them impacted by the media frenzy surrounding a major trial. You had the witnesses outside of the room while they're testifying, for example, in a trial so that you don't have them effecting and tainting each other's testimony. That's all been blown up now because the Democrats, whether it's Senator Feinstein's, office chairman, Ashwin shoes off, show your congressman ashes office. We don't know who they decided to go straight to the media with this instead of taking the proper steps. There's no way to put the genie back in that bottle, George, hey, Kerry it's choice fans. You've talked a little bit about areas where you would have liked to have had some additional information available, but said that you have a process concern. So why do we have. To Hugh to this two day or one day deadline. When we're looking at someone who will have life tenure on the supreme court. Why shouldn't we take the time to have an f. b. i. investigation and get this right, or as right as possible. This isn't one or two day deadline. We've had this for almost two weeks. Now, the Senate Judiciary committee has been performing investigation doing exactly the same types of interviews that the FBI would do. The Senate Democrats have had the opportunity participate in some cases..

"The problem with time for the Republicans is if you have an investigation by the FBI four, five six days and it raises new questions from the FBI. You have to start all over again and they're looking at the calendar. They're looking at the election and they know that they can't nominate Elaine duck supreme court Justice. There's no question. I think from everyone's perspective that it would be almost impossible to get someone else through before the election. The I I don't. I'm not as naive to think that an FBI investigation would clear Brett cavenaugh. And I say that because there is not a single criminal investigation in America state or federal that the where the first step would not be to interview an eyewitness to the alleged judge isn't inconceivable from. With all with all. Enjoy l. ask you as well, but with all of your experience enjoys with all of your experience, is it not painfully clear that avoiding the FBI investigation is about one thing, absolute staying the hell away from Mark judge keeping him away from investigators at any, and you don't have to be a prosecutor to recognize that and that's, but so that begs the question why it's so obvious. And the only thing I can come up with is that there is something to hide. Their Mark judge was was in that room. Now it may be to try to preserve Mark judge, but I don't think they care about March. Oh, no. So there's something else that is there that they are worried and perhaps choice. It's not even in that room. Inside if the house, it's what actually happened over two or three years with possible blackout something that would actually go against sworn testimony. And that's the risk that Mark judge will come back and contradict something. Cavanaugh said he didn't leave himself a lot of wiggle room on some of these issues. So whatever the reason is, it's a credibility factor joining us now from Capitol Hill NBC news, Capitol Hill correspondent the host of Casey, DC on MSNBC, Casey hunt, Casey good morning along day for you up on Capitol Hill long night on Capitol Hill for everybody. You hearing from Republican leadership this morning, we hear the vote is still on for just over two hours from now inside the judiciary committee. What is it going to look like? So a couple of things Willie, I was here late last night, and when I left Republican leaders were saying that they felt optimistic and their words that they were going to move ahead with this confirmation of judge Cavin. I now a couple of things to watch. I also did talk to Jeff flake as he was leaving the capital. He was visibly torn about what to do, and he's really going to be in the spotlight this morning because he's the only one of these swing votes that actually sits on the committee. There's some questions about how much this committee vote really matters. It's not clear that if something went sideways or against cavenaugh, there's a variety of procedural ways that that could be the case that they'd probably just ignore that or at least they could and just push ahead to the full Senate vote anyway, but listen, very, very closely to how Jeff flake frames his decision about how to vote on cavenaugh in this committee because that is one thing that could potentially Royal how this is going to unfold going forward because if he sends a strong signal against that's gonna tell senators. Lisa Murkowski, Susan Collins who are also on the fence that they might have some backup in sinking this nomination. If that is in fact what they actually want to do another person to wash for. I think Senator Joe Manchin a democrat from West Virginia up for reelection. He has been sending mixed. Signals privately about how he wants to vote..

"Said to Ashley, we should pray for the woman. It's a lot of wisdom from a ten year old. And with us, we have Republican strategist and MSNBC political analysts. Susan Dell Aparicio former US attorney for the northern district of Alabama and an MSNBC contributor. Joyce fans former assistant United States attorney in the criminal division of the US attorney's office for the southern district of New York. Daniel Goldman and historian, author of soul of America and Rogers professor of the presidency at Vanderbilt University. Jon Meacham is with us this hour home to begin with you. I. I hate to sound like a broken record here, but as I was going around from one channel to another, I, I saw one. Person not alive in one thousand nine hundred sixty eight or not old enough to remember nineteen sixty eight to another person not alive during the toll moult of the sixties and early seventies. And also people just to be really blunt that can tell you what happened yesterday on the campaign trail, but have no idea about American history saying that this is the worst it's ever been. America will not survive this. We will never get past this. I get so sick and tired of hearing this. I heard it during impeachment. I heard it during the two thousand recount I heard it after September. Eleventh. I heard it after the Iraq war. I've heard it. I've heard I've heard it. I heard it after two thousand eight, the meltdown in September. That's what we like to do. That's what we, this is the worst it's ever been. It's never going to get worse. Susan, Dell Percy off camera said, well, the good news is next week. We're not gonna even be talking about this. We're going to be talking about rod Rosenstein, and then everybody else will say, this is the worst it's ever been. This is never been worse in this. We will never recover from this is this is blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. You can put that down. On your blog site for by the way. John. Is this the worst it has ever been or maybe canings on the house floor, civil wars, vice president shooting secretaries of the treasury. I don't know, is this the worst it's ever been in? Are we doomed forever? Because it got a little ugly yesterday. No, and no. But that doesn't mean just because something has happened before doesn't mean it's not happening now. So I think we have. Thanks, John. It's happening now and it is happening and it will happen again and this is a resilient country. Oh, totally resilient country. And the constitution was written for moments like this. It assume that we were driven by appetite ambition, the framers made things the way they are because they made a very safe and good bet that's paid off that we will screw things up far more often than we get them right. So I think if you look from historical point of view, this is important and. Telling about the nature of the moment because there are a couple of different things and we can talk about them, but in the in the broadest broadest sense, you know, our resilience is is there that does not take account of the human drama and the cultural moment that we're in where people are having a reckoning about these kinds of offenses the quickly on the on the broad point. What we saw yesterday was in many ways, the victory of tribalism, a fundamental instinctive impulse to believe that which you wish to believe because your fellow tribesmen believe it over of fairly American openness to search for the truth. That's what the revolution. Was founded on the revolution was founded on the idea that ideas and facts could change the world. What was the American revolution? If not the victory of the idea of individual sovereignty that we were all given the right to determine our destiny, and kings and popes and prelates and princes were not. And so the whole that was the whole idea, the world used to be organized vertically. It was becoming to be organized horizontally, and it was imperfect. Then it's imperfect now because of the the role of slavery and women and we, we've struggled through this..

"Axiom is looking Jonathan at the fallout of the Brett Cavanaugh vote and how it will escalate this era's ugliness into politics. I can't imagine it getting worse. How bad is it going to get with hearing all ready from democratic strategist that the impeachment Brett cavenaugh? Should he be confirmed? We'll be twenty twenty one top democrat treasures lost not said to us. The only question is who says it. I. We're already seeing Nolan busting. We did a story recently. I was talking to a number of Democrats involved in with various candidates for twenty twenty, and one person made the point to me that the real divide is actually not going to be about policy. Most people agree on minimum wage and Medicare for all its how far you go in the gnome busting direction and Evans already cold for expanding the supreme court to eleven justices. So you can pack more Democrats on it and kind of approach. Now we are looking at the impeach we're going to be talking seriously guy guarantee you about the impeachment of a supreme court Justice, which is only being tried once in history, early eighteen hundreds and failed. So we are in the new era and there have been renewed Kohl's as well for the impeachment of Clarence Thomas wishing. So Jonathan, once your read on the hill and how much pressure is Donald Trump now putting on Rakowski and Collins and others to. To vote for cab. I asked someone on the team Kavanagh who's involved in all of this. I said, is Trump making Kohl's, and they started laughing, Trump con persuading these, you know, give me what Trump's going to pick up if they probably wouldn't take coal this point. I mean, Jeff flake, this is Mitch McConnell. George W Bush Washington Post reported has been making some Kohl's to try and sway some of these members. Honestly, people in the White House last night had no idea what was inside Jeff likes mind is there, is there any. Evidence that the White House and Brett Cavanaugh are connecting on strategy because I hear a lot in the media yesterday about this is what the president wants. He did with the president wants. Do you really think the president is pulling the strings on judge Kavanagh's approach and strategy in the middle of these hearings? A don't think that yesterday's Ango was manufactured to as a for an people taking your audience of one. I mean, just as a viewer, it seemed if you were, if you did believe you innocent of what he's being accused of being not being angry would seem. I kind of agree with you. I kind of agree with you on that Susan Dell Percy. Oh, what about Brett Kavanagh's approach his emotional outbursts. His anger. I saw a lot of reporters on Twitter, reading into that as a sign of guilt or innocence. Mostly guilt. "And I say that is a guy that you had that voted pro life my entire career in congress. But how does Susan Collins. Support Brett cavenaugh after yesterday, after that, the hostility and after the clear indication that he is going to be an ideologically right wing Justice for the next forty years. And I think while she may have been undecided before yesterday's testimony, this probably should have shifted her more to the know given the way we know she thinks and this is a vote of conscience for her. She does not have to go along, get along and go along. She can take vote of conscious, so can a few others, but she really should. She has to stand up and show what she is staying? Yeah. What what matters to her? She's up for re election in two years. I don't think she's going to seek reelection. This could be her moment to have equally impacted the court for the next three years. I agree because it when we're thing about Lindsey, Graham, I think he's got a point and I think a lot of people watching might agree that. It's a difficult place to be if one accusation can end to career right in any field agree. But if he believes that why not have a law enforcement body look into it and see whether or not it happened, it may not be conclusive, but why not have somebody else look into it. So it's not just as he believes one accusation, but the findings of the FBI or some other third party institution. Wouldn't you logically say, Joyce Jean, what you logically say, this is a scam. They are setting him up. They are lying about him. They are trying to destroy his career on four accusations that no one has been able to independently verify no one. No one, and he can be screaming that one and that is why we need the FBI to go. And if that's what you would logically say and less, you were trying to scream yell, distract her, and then call a vote the next day, something that the FBI does win, they investigate. It's not as it was portrayed yesterday, just these three, oh twos that are meaningless. Three, don't they make it sound like they just go smoke a cigarette. Hey, what's up? What's I'm gonna record you? We're just drinking over. We're gonna leave. This is tooth is. Dives who show up on your doorstep in a crown Vic. They are, but you know, you're speaking under penalty of perjury, and I spoke yesterday with people who had participated in judicial vetting and they reminded me that one of the things that the FBI does that they can talk to witnesses who don't want to be publicly identified. And so they show up in the reports as t one or two. That's how they're designated. And what that does is it gives the FBI tips that they can then go and follow up on. They don't take the anonymous sources at face value, but they can follow up on those leads. They can go back to the candidate and questioned that nominee about events that they're told about. It gives them a fuller process. But in this case, we know that there are specifics. One did Mark judge work at Safeway? Dr Ford asked repeatedly for that date so that she could specify things the FBI can do a lot here. No, I was gonna say word about Jeff flake actually who who's who's anguish. We saw visibly there. He can express that angry anguish. He, he has vote on the committee, vote in the Senate, and he hasn't done that yet. He has not done. "Really, it was just as contentious of a scene in the hallways in every building in the capital between folks watching this protesters on the hill, lawmakers emotion, just absolutely dialed up to eleven all day long. So Garrett, they're a handful of undecided votes on cavenaugh. I gotta get out of the Justice, the judiciary committee. Where do they stand this morning? We know that Murkowski and Collins and others were huddled last night, including Jeff flake to decide what to do after watching that testimony yesterday. Right. Really, this is entirely too familiar. The two female Republican senators who've been at the middle of every contentious decision up here are once again doing so once again with the now senior Senator from Arizona. In this case, Jeff flake, you mentioned Collins, mccaskey flake and Joe Manchin all net in Susan Collins hideaway. They're small office in the capital immediately. After this hearing concluded before meeting with the rest of their Republican colleagues discussing some of the way. Ford on this. None of those folks would discuss her really anything about what had gone on in that meeting Collins and Murkowski both told. So when my colleagues last night that they were going home to think about this, we did catch up with Jeff flake and you can just see on his face in the clip. We're about to play how anguished he was about making this decision. Watch this. Aleve with without whichever way. The nature of this. We're there's no way you can leave that here in room. Certain That that. you're completely right? He's right. She's wrong. She's right wrong. You're never certain do the best you can. That's what we're trying to do. Really we won't have to wait too long to know what kind of decision flake made. Remember. He's the only one of those swing votes on the committee itself, so we'll know how he's voting potentially as early as nine thirty ten o'clock this morning. All right, Garrett hate hill Garrett. Thanks very much. So it's interesting the first of all, Lindsey, Graham has gone from being. John McCain's wing man in politics to becoming Donald Trump's carnival Barker. I mean, he was amazing trip originally had an audience of one pressing a month after McCain. I got John McCain guy who worked with Ted Kennedy, who worked with people across the aisle who was attacked for actually trying to have. The courage, political courage to be bipartisan and look at Lindsey, Graham now it'd be spread of himself. So anyway. Collins, more cows, ski mansion Donnelly. Sort of had this pack. Gene, we're, they were going to either all go with him or Algo against him, and that we have flake and you just wonder whether he's going to be part of that pact as well to that way. Nobody has to cast the deciding vote to either put him on the court are take him off the court. There's still hovering there. I've gotta say this. I mean, we know Joe very well. I haven't talked to him about this. It's going to be very hard for a West Virginia Senator to vote against cavenaugh given that probably seventy percent of people in West Virginia. I would just guessing would probably support his elevation to the bench. You know, I have given up thinking that there's a lot that Joe mansion can't do in West Virginia if he really wants to know. I don't think anybody knows that electric better than that mansion. He's well ahead in in the polls. In his race in the state that is arguably Trumpy Asst. Trump as I can think of yet mentioned is, is leading. He was governor there. He's been Senator for a long time. He he really knows where way. So I, I actually think mansions got more latitude here than a lot of people would give them credit for you can vote. No, and he can get away with it. Now. On the other side. It's hard for me to imagine. Susan Collins. After saying that she's been a pro choice candidate throughout her entire career selling herself as a pro choice candidate. Cat. Some. I know she said that he's not going to alter Roe v Wade if she believes that today I, I feel genuinely sorry for her that she has been in Washington that long and doesn't understand what's happening if cavenaugh becomes of supreme court Justice..

The drinking ages I noted was eighteen. So the seniors were legal senior year in high school. People were legal to drink and we, yeah, we drank beer. And I said, sometimes sometimes probably had too many beers. And sometimes other people had too many beers. What we drank beer. We like beer. What do you consider to be too many beers. I don't know. We whatever the chart says. Your blood alcohol chart, and that exchange was the last we heard from prosecutor Rachel Mitchell during much of Christine Blasi Ford's testimony yesterday, Republicans on the judiciary committee, sat in silence behind Mitchell. They did not even speak to say they were yielding their time to her chairman Grassley did the speaking for them, but then Senator Lindsey, Graham reclaimed his time during Kavanagh's portion of the testimony using it to slam his democratic colleagues. If you wanted to FBI investigation, you could've come to us, which you wanna do is destroy this guy's life. Hold this seat open and hope you win at twenty twenty. You've said that not me. You've got nothing to apologize for. When you see soda. Marin keagan Telemit Lindsey said, all costs I voted for them. I would never do to them what you've done. This guy. This is the moat unethical sham since I've been in politics, and that was just part of it joining us now from Capitol Hill and miss NBC correspondent carrot hate Garrett morning. So what is Senator Graham's role in all this? He was, we saw a preview of this in the break between the two sets of testimonies. When he went out to the cameras and began this sort of argument. What was he doing yesterday really if brick Cavanaugh ends up on the supreme court by this time next week, he needs to send Lindsey Graham of fruit basket or something because that moment yesterday was. Oh pivotal. And it's been telegraphed by Lindsey, Graham all week long. Every chance he has gotten he has made versions of this argument to reporters up here on the capital saying that if a man can be brought down by an accusation like this without proof, every person on the capital is vulnerable, and in the course of that hearing yesterday being in the room, you could watch him getting angrier and angrier and more and more frustrated during the course of the hearing until that moment exploded on television. But he was saying a lot of the same things out in the hallways talking to reporters. Here's some of that conversation. When they say that she wasn't sure we were willing to go out there that's bunch of bowl. I don't know what they told MS Ford, but we were willing to go to California. We were told she couldn't fly. All I can say is that we're forty something days away from the election in their go, not miss. Ford's goal is to lay this past the midterms so they can win the Senate and never allow Trump the fill the seat. I believe that now more than ever. I don't know who paid for a polygraph, but somebody did the friends on the other side, set it up to be just the way it is field ambushed. And for folks who felt like the testimony they were seeing in the room was disturbing and ugly, and just not the kind of politics we like to see this scenes in the hallways were similar. "So an his opening state and then judge Cavanaugh actually said he welcomed an FBI investigation, but then wouldn't go there again during the questioning. When this allegation I arose. I welcome to any kind of investigation Senate FBI or otherwise. I know that any kind of investigation Senate FBI Montgomery County police, whatever. Clear me if you judge Cavanaugh turned down Mcgann and to this committee in say, for the sake of my reputation, my family name and to get to the bottom of the truth of this. I am not going to stay be an obstacle to FBI investigation. I welcome whatever the committee wants to do because I'm telling the truth, I want to know what you want to die. I'm telling you want to know what you want to do this sent. I'm innocent of this charge that you're prepared for an FBI, investigate reach conclusions. You reach the conclusion. They do investigate questions way if there is no truth to her charges, the FBI investigation will show that, or are you afraid that they might not mon- j. with FBI does not reach? Can you know? You know, this is, you know, that's a funny question because the FBI doesn't reach conclusions, Dutch cabinet. Will you support an FBI investigation right now? I, I will do whatever the committee wants to personally. Do you think that's the best thing for us to do. You want to answer look center. I, I've, I've said, I wanted to hearing. I'd said, I was welcome anything. I'm innocent not a Perry Mason moment. Certainly the moment that. Judge Kavanagh's defense certainly wavered. He had no good answer for a three day four day FBI investigation. And yes, the whole world knows Joe Biden told us in nineteen Ninety-one f. b. i. doesn't reach conclusions, but guess what they can do. They can go in and ask smart, judge, where were you here? Where we their, who should we talk to? And they can actually do again every day. It's an investigation instead of just getting a piece of paper that. They can draft for him. Yeah, and I, I have a slightly different take away from all of this and a friend of mine, lifelong democrat said, well, and she was concerned about how Cavanaugh was being treated. This was on Tuesday, and she said, well, maybe it'll make him better judge because he knows what it's feels like to be accused of something and maybe it'll give them insight. But after watching the hearing and watching judge Cavanaugh, I think he will be his temperament is just not suited. I think he's going to be resentful. I think that out of everything we could talk about an FBI investigation, but even if it clears him, I think that he dug himself into a hole yesterday that he can't come out of and be a responsible jurists on the supreme court without being angry and resentful. We know who else. People have said that happened to Clarence Thomas. He was transformed the hearing, so transformed him whether you think he was innocent or guilty. He got onto the court. He was angry and it made him a many people believe for more of a hardliner during his entire term than he would have been because he felt so abused by the process. And again, people can pass their judgement, but God, there is a parallel. It is Clarence Thomas and you've now have a guy who declared open warfare against the Democrats. I'm not judging for it. I'm done just not giving everything he went through, but angry. That's not good for the court, but he also lent in that partisan conversation about bringing up Clinton Trump, and that's what really unfor settled me Joe. That's where I started to feel this person's angry and I don't know if he can come out of it. The Clinton line didn't you think Susan. That was the grand conspiracy line that really made. I said, no problem with you being upset and angry at what's been done to you. And the way the Democrats held this till the very end leaked it, Diane Feinstein. Apparently they were saying shopped a lawyer for for Dr foot. I understand him thinking that the process was rigged against him, but boy, that Clinton line Crichton flange and got wrong. Turning moment with him. I was a big fan of judge on, but I thought he should be heard. I think we had to allow for the possibility that he didn't do this. But when I heard him go down that road, it really turned on. So Joyce, the object of yesterday's hearing was to find the truth to find out what happened..

"He's an outstanding person, and frankly, show to see what's going on is is just very, very sad. You say, why didn't somebody call the FBI thirty six years ago? I mean, you could also say, when did this all happen? What's going on to take a man like this and besmirch. That would that being said, let her have her say, and let's see how it all works out, but I don't think you can delay it any longer. They've delayed it a week already and you very, you've been very accommodating. Oh. Kidding. Say what she has to say at, let's see how it all comes out, but they've delayed it a week and they have to get on with it. So did you notice he was trying to not bad mouth? The victim too much will all that ended this morning when Trump finally broke his relative calm about Christine, Blasi Ford and tweet it out his most pointed criticism of her yet I at eight fifty six. This morning. He tweeted church brick, Kevin. Ah, is a fine man with an impeccable reputation who is under assault by radical left wing politicians who don't want to know the answers. They just want to destroy delay. Facts, don't matter. I go through this with them every single day in DC, then fifteen minutes later at nine fourteen, he tweeted, I have no doubt that if the attack on Dr Ford was as bad as she says charges would have been immediately filed with log law enforcement authorities by either having her or her loving parents. I asked that she bring those filings forward so that we can learn date time in place. There were two more tweets about four. The came in at nine twenty nine and eleven twenty nine trust be taking extra long executive time today. And so it begins, of course Trump couldn't make it through last night's rally in Vegas without demeaning the press. We have midterms coming up. And remember when we had that great. Great election, almost two years already. And you remember the tears from the fake news media, what it was obvious that we were going to win. And you know what? There's still crying look at them. There's still cry. And he's still such an ounce whole still crying and you're still announced home. They don't know what the hell happened, but it happened and that's why we're setting all time records. That's why we're doing so well, but we have to get out. For the midterms. All right. So he goes on and tells everyone they need to vote so we can keep our role in destroying the nation. Yeah, that's enough of that. A new NBC news Wall Street Journal poll released yesterday finds more Americans now oppose Kavanagh's appointment to the supreme court. Then support it brand new NBC Wall Street Journal poll just out a couple of hours ago. Really. Our first readout on how the public is absorbing. The accusation as as it has emerged to hear it is do poll thirty four percent now say they support the confirmation of breath. Cavanaugh thirty, eight percent of post. He's underwater. He's upside down, plurality opposition. Now there's a couple of different ways to look at this. First of all, the question is, what's the trajectory here? We have been pulling this for a while now before the accusation even emerged. So compared to our last poll this last month before anybody at hurt, anything about all of the the accusation here you see, look, the uptick is nine points. Opposition from twenty nine last month to thirty eight now support. It's basically stable. Thirty three, thirty four. So that's concerning sign. Obviously if you're supporting cabinet, you're trying to get him through here the other on the positive side. I guess if you wanna put it that way for a cavenaugh supporter still a lot who are undecided here, it is plurality opposition, but it's thirty eight percent. You gotta look at this maybe from the perspective of a Senator, say like a Susan Collins from Maine if she was inclined to vote. Yes. And she's looking at the poll. This is not a pretty poll to look at, but you're not looking at overwhelming opposition is that may be what it would take to dislodge her from from that standpoint here put this in historical context. Yes. What you're looking at here is this is now the most polarizing nomination we have seen sort of in the post Bork era. Yup..

"And I think that's really what crushes him this idea that they have this responsibility to live their lives with integrity. This is also the really pointed thing about the seal who died from hypoxia. You know which further ties in this present day rescue mission with the the mission from Vietnam, the crew members in North Korea, you ought to feel the same kind of responsibility out of respect for the memory of the navy seal who died trying to save them could connection. So to Smerch that smirk besmirch Smerch to can you smirked something Papa smirk, bronc lane. To Smerch make something dirty or soil it. Man, it feels like there's no way could possibly be his friend who had that oath, and that's really what crushes him. And then the president, you know, the thing that you always want to hear from your friend when you when you're going through something painful is for them to speak to you in Latin. Response putting is with integrity and honesty, top honor their sacrifice. Corrupt CO TIMMY, pissed him up. Yeah. Over the love of guy, would you can the Latin and just talk to me like a person. It doesn't feel like the right time to be quoting Lenin. It would have been great if Lee had responded with give me a break in Lenin. I mean, I appreciate the sentiment, but it feels less pointed to reach for an epigrams than just to say something I don't know. Heartfelt back. That's interesting. We'll maybe that's a a weakness in Bartlett's social game. It's no, I'm proud of you Charlie. That's right. It said, I'm proud of you Charlie in Latin and Len. And Lee would be like, I don't speak Latin, but I know at Charlie means you're talking to what the hell, okay, that grabs it up for this episode. Thanks so much for.

"Do you know what weekend it is Dominique or do we get? Is it Clinton Yates players weekend in baseball? Everybody. Great. This is this is baseball's last weekend. So please until people to tune in to the folks company made, which he means? Well, because as soon as the NFL kicks off and we get into some real college football, this becomes a football network, and baseball and till the plows get here will be ignored. Besmirch the name a of Hawaii football, real college football, never mind the Wyoming Cowboys. Both of those organizations. What I by that is is when it really starts not real college football, real football has started, but when it really starts, meaning all the players and all the teams are actually an action we get full into full swing. So it hasn't really started yet. That's just a little little appetizer action when when the main course gets here, there will be no room left on our proverbial sports table for major league baseball, decent backtrack. It's the second year to row in major league. Baseball is held players weekend in which players not allowed to only wear their own nicknames on the back of jerseys. They're also gets to wear whatever shoes they want. Let's go through some of these running down the list. I like well, okay. So the best one is I'll say for the end. But when we talked about during the break, it was Brad box burger of the Zona Diamondbacks. He went the emoji route with simply put it by simply putting a box in a burger on the back of his jersey. You're talking. He had to step his game because his his actual last name is box burger. Like if you're if what is normally on the back of your jersey is box burger you gotta step. You gave up on Nick's nickname weekend because I feel like box burger is the nickname when I saw that, oh, took his nickname, and he made his nickname like, no, he took his actual last name. And last night was are funny because they're often like they tell history of a family or something like Johnson, the son of John. So how did what did last night box burger anyway. I like the OT jersey, Shane Bieber of the tribe, great, nickname, he put not Justin. It's a little bit of a want one. But who are famous beep bieber's is just an Shane, that's it. Well, actually, there's just chains now famous. Jake Smolinski of the as smo- dollars. Now, here's the thing about some of these nicknames FOX, is that feel like people get nicknames, reliable for reasons for a lot on a lot of different places. And I feel like some of these, you don't want to go too far into the actual reason why you got named something because you don't want to give something away. I don't want to know why takes notice smo- dollars. That could be some activity that I don't really need to know about. That's fair. It could also just be lazy. It's like slow dollars. I feel like a lot of sports nicknames are not because of any great story behind them, like your childhood nickname. Maybe a story, sports nicknames is just like we spent a lot of time together and I'm not gonna say your whole name. So let's give you a nickname. Small dollars might not have anything behind him. Maybe he gave it to himself to that doesn't seem like a nickname that someone would give you overdose, never asked us for the pirates. Great. Nick. Name just went with Lithuanian. Cheap and take simple for everybody, Brad hand of the tribe with bro, teen shake. That's not funny. I mean, is it the reference to the Geico commercial guy? Marshall is funny. So if if that's what it's meant to be, then then I think that's funny. I remember we used to laugh at the one when I was with the ravens for some reason that one where the pig was. The pig will go, we we all the way home and he was sitting in the back seat of the car. So we will walk by each other in the building and just go we..
