I remember my my it's like my push-ups maybe that were really really close but I ended up passing it and I actually helped my first sergeant because there was quite a few soldiers who didn't pass and so, you know, we'd be doing our morning PT and we'd be doing the run and I drop back and you know, she asked me one day he's like, why do you keep dropping back to the back where you should be up front? I was in big group. So I wasn't in a group. I wouldn't let fastest Runners but I I was pretty decent for running at the time and I said, well it's cuz I want to help them and so we kind of created this a phone nor oh after training sessions so that after Bertie had their their daily school training then the first sergeant yourself and those that didn't pass and I think we had a few of their soldiers join us to would kind of help people pass this training, but it was more time for me to connect with with the first sergeant and so he get to see like birth You're helping you're you're not being involved. So it kind of came as a shock to him when I first told them like I'm I'm actually getting out and partly because I couldn't tell him why I couldn't I couldn't really say why. and so because I was getting out for depression, they I don't remember who recommended it. Since March have lots of workers make a quick shocked to remote work. As we've seen, that's a pretty tall order even without highly classified government information on the line our cybersecurity reporter David Bertie has been looking into what? There's a lot of moving parts here and I think everyone who might want to take advantage of a situation such as this is probably think about it at this point I don't think it gets much bigger than this and as we spoke to a number of former administration officials as well they basically said upshot is the normal day to day business at the White House is going to grind to a halt. It's almost inevitable in a situation as crazy as this. For any organization at company is school, etc. When you're dealing with shocks, just sort of the day to day work of that particular organization to tends to slow down. But I would also say that like if you were to rank of the places in the world, they're the most secure the White House would probably be top of the list so they are. Potentially vulnerable to more threats than anyone else and they're going through the weirdest situation possible on the other hand, they do have the highest walls around. In terms of cyber defence is that pretty much any place in the world could have.

"I think. It's one thing to appreciate fans but it's another thing to sort of lead. In that way. Do you payment. Do you do you? Is it something that you can teach? Is that something? Is that something that you that you sort of born with I mean I look at look at the generation of young people today a look at my kids and especially my son, there's a sense of fairness I mean, he's twenty five but there's a sense of fairness amongst young people that kindness. To Stop. That's it is the millennials, isn't it and there's that sense of they win something is unjust. It hits them. You can see they're sort of take a step back and think why would somebody want? Why are you doing? Why are you treating someone like that they and even my in amongst our team that's one thing I love about all of them. And it goes beyond the millennials is if they feel something's unfair, they'll actually speak up and say it question it. Yeah. They will say something it's and now do is that something that you you're just born with is that something that I have I seen things to my growing up at boarding school that maybe third this come on this is not right. I don't know but somewhere along the line things have influenced you maybe it's through personal experience that you've been unhappy the way you've been treated I don't know. Did you send your kids to boarding school To my wife, no way. To. Secular wins accuweather site was talking about it as well. So for me boarding school was boarding school wasn't a bad experience in the beginning I think as a young child, it's a tough experience I mean was six seven years old my brothers were or six years old and they went to boarding school and it's and it was tough. But when you look back now the the level of education 'cause they were Catholic schools. So the level of education was a standard higher and it was the nuns teaching. So they were there because they want to be there. It wasn't just a job for them. They took it to another level which was absolutely superb. Yeah. So we got a really really good education. So would I would have wanted my children to go to boarding school but then I? Spoke to local. Catholic priest about a private school not far from us and he said, why would you you've got such good schools in the town you don't need to spend money on sending your children to private school and he was right. I mean the the schools we're very fortunate. The town that we're in We've got some really really good schools and if you look at where the people who've come look. At Saint Mary's, which is the local Catholic. School that my kids went to the the people that have come out of their become doctors I mean there's one I know somebody I don't want to dominique my daughters friends who is well, she's become a specialist and she'll be a consultant one day and comes from a difficult background as well. But what what a lovely lovely girl and you see how people can get to Different places just by. The the sort of the fact that somebody believes in them that somebody has told him, you can do it. Nobody's telling you that you know you can't because you you come from a background, your particularize whatever there's none of that and that is that is the opportunity, the Gotcha but Yeah. Boarding school I wanted it. Because I thought it was I thought it was other was pretty good and I thought it is a of discipline and all the rest of it Jillian was also into boarding school. We went mean we were at school together all our lives almost and she she was no I don't think we should send them we we can live close to school and they can go to school from home. The the the thing about books goes, it's people who've enjoyed it. Themselves give charity to that kids. To enjoy it too good for sport and all that, right? Yeah. But he would not when I think about your practice and your situation be a CD. I can see I can see someone like us a great asset to have in both of those situations. You. As A. Vice you would give to ambitious ambitious young dentists to get involved in these organizations and and to to give service back. We use it for everyone. Okay. The the word, the word ambition. I think is my problem and And I can't. I can never say other I've been ambitious of never looked and said, I want to do that. came to the CD for example, it was it was Chris. Oh I didn't even know who approached me I don't know why he approached anybody approached me and said, do you to consider getting involved with the with the border for the CD? I'd probably because we met over in in. At. A CD was the first sort of very informal Palo and just just knew each other face a name possibly, and then getting the first SC meeting that was here that is the first time I saw tiff Krishi. Tim Bradstock Smith Elaine Halley. David. Bloom Chris saw I remember Mike cyb. It's that was the first time I met a lot of these people and then we are both it and I went to every single CD meeting from there and it was a few years in that Chris Approaching and said to you wanted to join to stand for for board which I did and became the longest serving. and then realized you need an exit strategy and the best exit strategy was to become president and then president and then.

"Even bother to offer to lend him a fireproof suits of armor. In case, he got offended. Now this prince, who was called Boris the brave had been to school with Prince Birdie. and to tell you the truth, they really don't like each other very much. Although Boris, the brave has lots of admirers. Nobody admires him more than he does himself. He used to go round saying that he was a true prince and Burti, and when they played football, he used to kick birthday in the shins when the referee wasn't looking. For very small, he used to Pinch Burti under the desk during class. And when they got bigger, he hid Burti skateboard and stumped on his conquers. In fact, booty really really didn't like Boris the brave at all. And so when he heard that he was riding out to Wales to win the hand of the lovely Princess Beatrice Birdie jumped onto his skateboard and headed off in the same direction. He was determined to win Beatrice from under the nose of his rival. Burt arrived at the palace soon after Boris. The wicked stepmother of Princess Beatrice was not at all impressed. She said. Doesn't look like a real prince at all. He's wearing his baseball cap back to front and quite frankly he's Chubby. Even call him fat. Just then birdied backward flip on his skateboard in the center of the court where everybody could see him. Then he jumped off and did a bow. All the courtiers clapped and the pageboys Haradh. Didn't say anything, but secretly she thought that burden of drive and Nice, and hope that he would slay the dragon before Boris the brave. Both the princess were given rooms at the palace to stay in. And the next morning when birthday he got up for breakfast. Is the brave was nowhere to be seen. We have a saying in my kingdom. Thirty set a bitch as his father. The old king. The early bird gets the worm. I'll go and kill. That dragon before Boris gets out of bed. Princess Beatrice's stepmother's letted out with laughter into her cornflakes. You'll find that hard, she said. Boris the brave was up at six o'clock this morning. And road straight up to the mountain to seek the Dragon. I say he's probably slade him by now and will marry Beatrice next Monday morning. Like another slice of toast and black blackcurrant jam before you go home Prince, Burti. Now Prince Bertie was dismayed to hear this news, and so he ran out into the courtyard and jumped onto his skateboard. He was determined to catch up with Boris the brave. It was very hard work going up the mountain, and he have to carry his skateboard on his shoulder. He sued was rather heavy added sharp point trailed along the dust as he trumped up the track to the Dragon's cave. Oh, bother. He thought himself. I bet that Boris has truly killed the Dragon, and will marry the lovely Princess Beatrice. He'll be thumbing his nose at me for years to come. It's so so annoying. Finally Burti came within sight of the cave. It looked very dark and scary. Now, it's one thing to decide to go and slay a dragon, and it's another to actually go and do it. Perhaps said Birdie to himself. I can sneak into the cave and kill the dragon with my sword while he's asleep. Then he thought. Oh! What if he isn't, asleep. He'll brief firearm me and that will be the end of Prince Birdie. Booty heard the story of how Princess Pitch is I, love prints. Freddie had returned home. and. Then be made to look really really stupid by the Dragon. He realized that he was stuck. He didn't want to go into the cave in Casey got. To Smithereens and he didn't want to go back to the palace. In case, he was made to look stupid. Just, then he heard a terrible noise a sort of wash. And burst the brave came charging out of the cave on his white horse. He was chased by a ball of fire, just inches behind the heels of his horse. Boris on his horse headed straight for the mountain path, and charged as fast as they could down the track. Burti dived behind a rock. He heard the dragon dumping around outside his cave and singing. Why. Why why? gooding, said boaty. That's the most frightening out I've ever heard. And he lay very still he's the dragon might see him breath fire on him. Eventually though the dragon went back into his cave. And Bertie hurt. He's voice echoing. What's up spotty dog. Spotty Dog who? Is. What am I gonNA do though Bertie. That singing is more unbearable than the fire. And, then he had an idea. He reached into his pocket and pulled out his mobile phone. Ten minutes later. There was an even louder roaring than the dragon singing accompanied by the sound of back. Rat fire engine was coming up the track. Right, boys said Birdie there's a fire breathing dragon in that cave. He's already seen off to brave princes. Let's give him a bath. That wasn't a top anywhere to be found, but fortunately one of the five new. That was lake at the top of the mountain. They took one end of the hose up to the lake and pointed the other through a chimney in the roof of the cave. They could tell that the dragon was inside because they could see smoke coming out of the chimney pot. Soon the water was running down the hose and into the Dragon's cave. Very wet and bedraggled dragon came out. To Cross and miserable even to sing. He saw Burti in the fireman and his mouth to breathe fire in them, but fortunately they were ready with the second hose which they looked into.

"Of Cools birth to used to be a handsome prince was engaged to be married to the lovely Princess Beatrice. But then he was turned into a frog, and so the royal wedding was cooled off at the last minute. Both say to the swamp has been trying to learn how Prince Bertie and princess bitches maps and fell in love. She's been afraid to ask. In case, it's pliable. As usual. Call him the car as being going around the pond, spreading ugly rumors behind birth. He's back. Lovely princess beaches can't be that Marie. All. She would have found a half decent prince nortre done not lock bird A. Don't kill Ditka's his safety when she heard this. Princess Beatrice is famous all over the world for being lovely and ever so kind to children and animals. Only the lowest pond life don't know that. And so to put an end to call him the cops mutterings. Finally decided to ask thirty to tell the story of how prints spotty won the hand in marriage of the lovely Princess Beatrice. Princess Beatrice lived in a faraway kingdom cold Wales. which is famous for having lots of dragons who live in caves and popout and burn people by breathing fire on them? Apart from that. It's a very nice place to live. Fortunately the Welsh dragons don't breath fire on people very often and less. They are in a bad mood about something. But that was one particular dragon who was causing lots of trouble. He liked to sing songs and when he did, fire came out of his mouth. One summer he burned down a whole forest with his singing. Old. King decided that enough was enough. And he announced that, too, so ever would slay. The dragon would win the hand in marriage of his daughter. The lovely Princess Bitch. Now acid Hatton's ever since the lovely princess bitches and been a little girl. She had. Done her maths homework on Tuesday evenings with Prince Freddie from the next door kingdom. A long time ago, she had decided to marry Prince Freddie. But she had kept her planner secret. A wicked stepmother also wanted her to marry Freddie. You see although he was rather boring, he was terribly good at maths and at saving money. He was also very good at growing vegetables in the garden. It was generally agreed that he would be very sensible choice as a husband for the lovely Princess Beatrice. And so when the king announced the competition to slay the dragon with the prize of his daughter's hand in marriage. Princess richest was very sad. Oh, no. She said to a stepmother. Mary Prince Freddie now. You see although he's terribly clever. I don't think he knows about fighting with swords and killing monsters. It's not what he's good at a toll. When Prince Freddie her that he was supposed to slay the Dragon, he was even more worried. Oh. Oh, dear, dear, he said. I think I want to meet a dragon. Couldn't. The king changed the contest into a vegetable growing competition. Yell to win that. He would say whoever saves the most money over the next year can marry Chris. Did piece such a scaredy cat, his stepmother of Princess, Beatrice who is rather horrid and is secretly a wicked witch. You better slay that Dragon I'll turn you into a creepy crawly and see how you like that. Now don't worry. I'll give you a fireproof suit of armor. Put It on, and you won't have any trouble tool. Wouldn't that be cheating? Asked Freddie. Cheating. Soapy pinball knows goody. Two shoes take. You want to be burned into smithereens by the Dragon. No facts I rather not admitted Freddie and he agreed to other the fireproof suit of armor. And so when the day came Freddie put on the suit of armor and road very slowly and carefully on an old. Up The mountain to the cave where the dragon lived. When he arrived, he got off his horse and hid behind a big tree, waiting for the dragon to come out of his cave. Dairy. Dairy May. He said to himself shaking with fear. Really don't want to fight the Dragon. I'm not sure that I want to marry Princess Beatrice after all. I think I. Do by maths. Homework on my own from now on. Your just wait here until time, and then go home and tell everybody that the dragon has agreed to be good from now on. And so that's what he did. But the very next week, when the king was out in his garden, the Dragon Jumps over the wall of the palace, unburned all the daffodils as well as his prize leaks you. Google! Came running, but the dragon had wings and flew away before they could catch him. Right. said the king looking at his burnt garden. I'm never going to let that Nincompoop. Freddie marry my lovely daughter now. I always thought he was a frightful bore anyway. and to tell you the truth. The lovely princess bid tryst. Wasn't that sad after all? She realized that if Freddie truly loved her, he would have at least tried to kill the Dragon, and not made up a fib about him, agreeing to be good from now on. The following week, a new prince road through the gates of the palace. He had blue eyes and long blond hair and was ever so handsome. Princess Beatrice and stepmother watched him from the top of the palace, tower. They both agreed that he looked terribly strong and brave and would make a very fine husband. They were both so show that he would succeed in slaying. The dragon that the stepmother didn't.

Undercover Robot Interview

"Hello, this is Bertie I'm here with some big news. I've written a book. That's just been published. It's called undercover robot my first year as a human, and when I say I've written it what I really mean is that I co wrote it with my old friend, what he's not that old, but his name is David Edmonds, so let me introduce you to my collaborator and friend. David, Hi, story, Neue I am a key data old, but anyway we'll pass over that, David. Perhaps you can tell the audience a little bit about undercover robot. Well undercover Bogut is about. About a girl could dotty and dot. He's eleven years old and the thing you need to know about doc- is that she's not actually a girl. She's a robot and she's been designed by a professor Catnip, who is kind of like a dad? And if Dottie can survive for a year at school without being identified uncovered as a robot, she and professor catnip will win a huge amount of money. She lives with professors. CATNIP family who don't know that she's a robot and at school. Most people are taken in, but there's one boy, isn't there? Who's really onto her? Yes there's a guy called Martin strange. Who is trying to expose her and I should explain that it. You actually spot low Bot and identify the robot correctly you win ten thousand dollars, so people are on the lookout to see who might be global in their school. It turns out that there were five robots around the world who are trying to win this prize. And there were people trying to out them. Okay, so I haven't mentioned this yet but David. You're a philosopher onto you and you've published quite a few books. Some of them bestselling books on philosophy and book has. Has Quite a lot of philosophy in it, doesn't it? It's got a lot of philosophy quite well hidden, but the basic issue is quite philosophical, which is where a robot can actually be like a human. Is there something special about human beings that means loobox never copied them, or could really brilliantly designed and built low bought actually not only pretend to be like a human being, but to all intents and purposes be just like a human being, because dotty is very nearly like a human being, but she gets a few things wrong and Some of those things raise lots of questions. Questions in philosophy. What about Dadis first meal at the CATNIP family? How can just having SOPA raise philosophical questions we'll dottie gets into trouble very early on because she doesn't understand etiquette that you're supposed to put your knife in the light hand and the folk in the left hand least in British culture, the old thing about etiquette is that in other societies they do things differently, so it seems a bit different for morality, so for example pretty much every society people think it's wrong to murder somebody, but in different societies, people have different kinds of approaches to meals and food in some. Some societies you're supposed to burp loudly to show your appreciation. which little girl in the story does, doesn't she? The little cabinet goal does BURP and dotty Kapisa dotty copies. dotty assumes that that's what you're supposed to do. dotty can't quote workout which rules a supposed to be universal, which will supposed to apply to the whole world, and which rules exposed to apply just a maybe British society, or maybe just to the catnip household where she lives because at school there, lots and lots of rules aren't there and lots and lots of detentions it. It's a very strict school and dotty has. To navigate the school as well, but she doesn't want to be too good, because if she's good and doesn't get into any trouble. That would be suspicious. That will be like not a normal kid fact. She has a misbehavior quota, doesn't she? She's allowed to misbehave. I can't remember that eight percent of the time or twenty percent of the time we discussed it a lot, but of course she overshoots a quota quite a bit and gets into lots and lots of trouble. Yes, she also has to get what her designers programmers called friendship point she has. has to try and make friends with people in her class to show that she's capable of meaningful human interactions. There's a girl Kohana. WHO's quite a rebel who becomes her friend? But there others that she really annoys like Cindy Low, isn't there? I mean most people find quite lovable, but she can be a bit irritating sometimes. Yes, she can sometimes take it literally, which other people find really annoying. humor is sometimes be off, so she sometimes doesn't get palms, and at least the early stages. She's not very good at picking up the subtleties of human. Human Interaction and that's why she gets into so much trouble. We're not going to say everything, but it does build up to a very big climax, and some really crazy stuff starts to happen almost surreal stuff that you as a philosopher I believe. Call a thought experiment. You know if you imagined this crazy thing could happen. What would that mean to philosophy? Yes, store a few thought experiments, the something that happens when dottie is in a zoo and wild animal escapes, and it looks like it's GonNa head for and possibly injured possibly even kill a bunch. Bunch of kids and don't has to decide very quickly where we should try to strap the bear, and pointed as it were in another direction, but the problem with doing that is that it would put other people at danger. Fewer people sadate estimate this decision wherever to save thirty lights, but at the cost of paps, killing five people, and not just any five people as it happens to people she would endanger would be members of the family that she lives with

California City Bans Predictive Policing Software

"In the wake of black lives matter protests, governments across the country have been weighing how to reform their police, departments and address inequities law enforcement. One tactic that's come under scrutiny has been the use of surveillance technology last week, a city council in Santa Cruz California voted to ban what's called predictive policing software? It could be the first measure of its kind in the US, our reporter David. Bertie has been looking into this and joins us to. To explain hey, Dave. Thanks for joining US Qatari all right, so explain to us what is predictive policing? How does it work predictive policing technology as it's used in Santa Cruz or has been using Santacruz? Essentially a data analysis tool that tracks usually three types of data, crime, type, location, and timing, and essentially allows the police department project where hotspots within the city would be an argument for this type of technology is that would allow police department? To basically make decisions more efficiently in terms of how they allocate resources. So why is it coming under? Scrutiny is coming under scrutiny for a few reasons. One is sort of this national discussion. We're having about race and policing which has filtered down to local areas such as Santa. Cruz in California, but also people in that city had a first hand. Look at how this technology has played out the police department. There was an early adopter of the. The technology and decided that if we base our policing tactics on analysis of data that is inherently biased is going to produce an in some cases replicate biased policing tactics. So why is it inherently biased? Explain that to us. How does watching where crimes are happening now and using that data to predict new crimes? Why why is there bias in their book to Santa? Cruz Mayor Justin Cummings explained it this way. Basically, it's garbage in garbage out. Coming said to me if we collect data from police, stops or crimes that are reported in our current policing system, it's going to reflect a policing system in which underrepresented communities such as black communities or Hispanic communities face disproportionately heavy police presence, so we take data from a policing strategy. The disproportionately put officers in communities of color were going to get data reflects. Reflects that policing strategy so in ways in some cases perpetuates that cycle, so it's not I mean just to be clear. When we say, it's collecting data about crime that's happening. It's using data that the cops are giving them about things like police stops there stopping someone, and that is being recorded as crime whether or not actual crime place. They're not yet the. Gist of it and what Cummings would argue, and what the city council. Santa Cruz also agreed upon is that they will also reflect sort of the disproportionate ways. Cops have been shown to stop people of Color, so you know in some cases they might stop a black driver more often than a white driver for a regular speeding ticket, for example that's sort of a mundane example, but I think you could play the Dow and people in Santa. Cruz have played it out over the course of different types of potential crimes now, Santa Cruz isn't the only place in the country. That's used this sort of predictive policing New York. City has used it as. As well, and they've been under fire for many years for stop and Frisk. Policy which basically feeds into exactly what you're talking about. Roy New York pioneers a statistical modeling called COMSAT in one thousand nine hundred ninety S, which is a little bit more of a primitive version of this essentially uses big data from different types of crime committed around the city in order to project where officers should spend the most time in resources, so predictive policing technology basically takes that to the next level. It injects an artificial intelligence to the process. It basically allows software to learn crime patterns over the course of time in order to better project, police should go. So are other cities following I mean this is obviously happening in the wake of the killing of George Floyd and a lot more attention, being paid to the way that policing is taking place around the country. Are we seeing other cities and states kind of think about this in the same direction Santa Cruz is thought to be the first city in the country to actually ban predictive policing, and it did so in large part because. It has experienced with this technology actually in two thousand eleven time magazine named the Santa Cruz police departments. Use of technology is one of the fifty best inventions of the year, so they're definitely ahead of many other cities in this regard, but spoke to some civil liberties advocates over the last couple of days, and they said this is certainly a new front in this larger discussion we're having about police surveillance, which is really ramped up over the last few weeks. Particularly Municipalities, so you have places like Boston, which recently voted to ban facial recognition technology. Technology for its police. Department California, also recently stopped bill at the state level that would regulate facial recognition technology, and I think at the state and local level across the country you do see a lot of lawmakers and activists really start to push reconsider how police use technology

their own yeah he's not going to engage in that no he's not and now I mean be biting to come out and do a forty five minute speech about oatmeal I have no idea I mean I I mean there's obviously these out liar possibility the corona virus thing is obviously a total unknown there's a million things that could happen what latest on his brother which we'll get to in a little while I do think that that this is more than Joe Biden's to lose he'd have to absolutely choked to lose the selection I mean if you look today he is favored heavily in in Michigan and Missouri and Mississippi and he's a slight favorite in every other contest today which is remarkable as is the G. really I I it happened so fast I mean it really did happen so fast you go a little bit later in the and this is what the big problem with with Bernie's campaign is if he doesn't win big at Michigan forget about just winning when it means nothing really he needs to win big yeah Michigan he needs to have a South Carolina yeah he needs that type of thing because you go to next week next Tuesday and you have Florida Illinois Ohio and Arizona which are all very strong side always he's doomed in Florida yes he's doomed his wounded Florida and and he's not strong in any of the other states either he's projected to lose about sixty percent or more in almost all the states so next week is actually way worse for Bernie than this week this is a week he can win some races can he win Idaho yes can you win north or north to North Dakota to caucus yes can you in Washington yes although there should there be close and right now the side bites favored in all of these places when that's because those people know that we hold these truths to be self evident that all men and women created by you know the thing the thing you know the thing and so he's doing well because they do know they do know the thing to know that I mean if you look at this and you just say what what's the path here for burning let's say he comes in today and he wins Michigan and a close race he wins Washington in a close race he wins Idaho in a close race anyway there's a code in a close race he likely still comes out of today with less delegates the Joe Biden because bite is going to completely dominate him in Mississippi and probably dominated by a large margin in Missouri and just those two dominating races that he's going to win by large margins are gonna be enough to make up for the delegates he's got the others I think it's because as he said himself last week that he is an old Biden bomb a Democrat he's over eighty years ago Biden Bob a Democrat people love abide by the Democrats and that's what it is he said but I didn't you know they they keep say our yesterday Biden came out of the Biden came out and said you know I wish the president would just shut up I mean he's just making things worse every time he opens his mouth really Mr biting into you really can't he's the one guy in America cannot make this argument no by the way if you go to the overall model from five thirty eight dot com what you know we had models on the show today yeah they're pretty hot okay so they model the entire election they believe there's that now remember what is the sixty some odd percent chance for a contested convention before super Tuesday yeah yeah now it's point eight percent okay first eight thirty centers to win a majority of delegates before the convention point one he's down to eight point one percent chance where the models you promised me the I. da I'm looking at my computer right now and they're they're fantastic there's lots of grass by the way tells the Gabbard is only as of one point one percent chance less than burning at this point which is that some agencies are close sex close third she's a right on the heels I'm sorry but it is amazing that when you talk about here is a party that said they're the most diverse party ever all I care about is adversity there voters don't seem to care about it at all because they just keep voting the old white people and and here's there's one candidate left who's a person of color who is a female who is E. a jungle I'm not going to hear you bad mouth Bernie address this yesterday could we please play Bernie Sanders on the the rampant sexism but is happening for the primary turnout your answer is yes I do I think women have obstacles placed in front of them that men do not have on the other hand we have made progress in the last forty fifty years in terms of the number of women who are now in the Congress you can remember it wasn't so many years ago a few decades ago the Barbara Mikulski of Maryland was the only woman in the United States and we have made some progress can I ask you something as to where all these races coming for from where they're voting against these women socks I mean he calls us races all the time yes service I don't remember Dick voting in the democratic primary right now I don't like their self diagnosing this racist problem yeah because they still have the opportunity yeah they could do it they have a a Tulsi Gabbard still in the race for her right now still could do it yeah it would be "And I'm so interested in this new. I say new, but it's probably just new to me. But this this way of telling stories and adult animation. I mean, it's definitely not new right? Well, I guess, when I say, new, I feel like the fact that it's that it's much more readily available to mainstream audiences the streaming services, right? Yeah. And it's gotten. It's like like so many aspects of just television in general it's, it's gotten infinitely more sophisticated, I think, in the past even ten fifteen years, like, but I want I want to go back to ebony mentioned boobs, and like their boobs everywhere on this show. And I actually think that that's like, really cool in the sense that to me it, it like not it it to me it goes so far with that, that it like it starts to, like normalize boobs and just like like they're not like these these like. Mysterious like sexual objects that, you know, that are just like, oh. You know that men desire or whatever they're just these things that are that are there and they're everywhere they're natural. And they're just they're everywhere. Sometimes they're not. They're like when you're left boob is like peace out. You're getting on my nerves as Bertie, and I think it's is it. Aquafina. Yeah. Who is the place for less left? Boop. It was so good. And there's, there's a moment where in one of the episodes where to getting birdie, you're just like sitting out on the fire escape, whatever and, and to like takes her shirt off and birdie like like this is fun moment of these two friends just hanging out and birdie like her hands kind of go like she's going to take off her top. But then she just like laughs and she doesn't because that's not her, like she's just not that kind of person, but it's this cute little moment, that's like very revealing of their different personalities and the different ways that they relate to their own bodies and everything. So let me say Hannah Walt was at expo Exo last year. And I don't think you to missed it, but she showed I was there. Oh, yes, she showed a very early like uncultured cut of the first episode of this and her intro, she talked about how. How like in something like Bocek horsemen, which is still a pretty wild show like she's like you can't have boobs on buildings ju just like flat out, set it. So she's like we wanted to do that. And that always stuck with me. And like I think that it is a like you're saying, Carol, there's like a visual style to it. There's a there's a bigger kind of political statement about women's bodies in them doing that. And then also it sounds like it came out of this reaction of like why wasn't allowed to do this thing here. So I'm going to do it here when I have my own show, but that it is like I was thinking about that watching this because I'm like the line between the sexualizing women's body parts or body parts people's body, parts and just sort of like being in a world full of characters who deal with certain things right. So like deal with sexual harassment deal with their bodies being judged deal with all of these different ways. And so the the line between both normalizing. That. And. And sort of celebrating it, I think, is really nicely done in this show. And you see that in again, it's not a world free of sexual assault or sexual harassment, but it is also a world where women are like trying to own their bodies and own their own sexuality like the stuff around I particularly liked so one there's this sleazy ass neighbor. That is constantly hitting on women, and he's super growth in the in the one of the early episodes, too. 'cause like it was just one time two times drunk and whatever, and I just it really very early on sets the stage for to go was like, is kind of a mess and is making poor choices and now she's sober. And so the whole episode where she's trying to date and she's like, I don't know how to do this sober..

No. And by the way, if you had heart surgery plan, would you soap an hour and a half known serious job, an hour and a half, wait and demand that the doctor Swedes you into their schedule is insane. But what do we do is dentists we suck it up. Yeah. We say, you're right. We feel dirty or accepting money for our services, like even the fact that I am saying pay, it makes me feel real Bertie, but it is the most bizarre backwards thing. And it stems from on like podcast should just be about how to make densest stand up for themselves. Two people that type of weed you on every week. A lot of celebrity or a lot of people who are powerful and or well known. Do you tend to run into that? Like where you have them that they don't respect your time the de respect out? Or is it almost the opposite where like they totally understand and they the powerful realm respect through time it? Yeah, the people that are striking themselves that aren't really sure that are saying it last dime because they think that you're going to tear something that's in their minds, not in their mouth, the ones that are the problem. Now back up a little bit. Now you talked about the the crazy people. What percentage of your patients would you say are bat? Shit, crazy rational. Well, it's a tough thing because I think I think people in this is true on also why never feel people always say like, oh, who's your competition here? Or aren't you worried about opening? Because there are so many dentists. They're like, the truth is I think that you elicit the type of patient that you are. I think people gravitate towards who you are, the person and as a dentist. Although I guess I'm crazy right. Speaking of Larry, he has the craziest patients ever. Yes.
