"That makes this well. If you're putting him on a best eleven you're going to put him at midfield right so he's not going to be on that list twice. I have always said that. Justin morals in that conversation. The key with that position in this league is it's a position where teams often don't have consistency and don't haven't spent a lot of money and so it's not a coincidence that every team justin moral played for one trophies like his impact on his team's at that position in san jose and then in toronto i don't believe is a coincidence and you could say for beta shores. Well obviously his partner at two of those places on the other side of the field for large stretch. So i i think he's in that top five conversation one hundred percent and i think there's a few different ways that you can angle that he is number one and i wouldn't disagree with all my my memory. Shutout is jose bercy yagi junior taryn down the left side. Rip it up for casey. That's the one. I wanted to throw in there. Yeah that's a good wizards wizards reference. And i believe bruce iago definitely best eleven player as well kaelin. What would you say. Best in mls history. He's definitely the argument. I completely agree with dave. Like if you have a top five really probably a top three given the collective and the individual accomplishments and then if you wrap in sort of the personal side as well rises straight up the charts but is he number one for you. I think he's right up there if he's not one he just may be one a i played. I played with a really good a left back with consol cigar so i thought was super consistent. Play with the costa rican. National team did really well. I think you know you could probably also mention rodney wallace at some measure with just a more of an attacking full-back but i think when you look at moral as well just a combination of skill set where he could get forward in the attack get goals he great service athletic defend with anybody But really kind of weaponized especially toronto. Fc team in a way that we had yet to see a team really kind of like bomb forward like that But but the other name that is the kind of one or one a kind of pick your poison and this one is todd. Done event Todd so todd for me think five championships. He wanted on his rookie year with san jose on a veteran team that was not playing young players. todd played a big role throughout that season. I on their way to the championship and then he went into. I think four more with l. a. galaxy. His game changed as time went on where it became a little bit more less about bombing which he was. I think people probably who watched later in his career. Forget how good todd was going forward with the ball Incredible pace great left-foot could score. Goals do a lot of the things that we see in modern life. Left-back do and later career was a little bit less of that but so steady always a winner. I think to. Mls cups or mls cups with two different clubs..

And had the ball read it right. Just couldn't hang on. But third and forever and ours is Fort down. Third, anther still third down and loyal tryingto yet again get great field position. They've had good field position. The last two drives. I'd love another great spot here. Emotion out Bercy Gordon wide right as a wide receiver here they do. Look to throw away from him opposite side of the fuel in front of the Clinton Ale bench. He catch that he did I think of the fireside Cavan Gorney scaling the imaginary lander there. 5 10 £165 Junior. With the tippy toe to get inbounds right around. They get in the hands of Maribel and he collects a touchdown. One carry one touchdown. And just like that, the Bulldogs are up three scores. Well, Maribel's a guy that they we haven't called much of tonight, and we were wondering when we were going to see him. You said. Hey, Chad, relax. He plays mainly defense now. And that's right. Up until now. He cashes in a touchdown. What Iran 12 yards off tackle. And this is a guy that they just throw, you know, look at the depth at running back. "Jason joining us we've been talking about the two thousand ten, the greatest season in Chicago Blackhawks history. So we Kinda dial up a couple of our hockey friends and actually a couple of players from the two thousand and ten team former Defenseman Brian. Campbell is joining US along with Colin Frazier, former Blackhawks Center. Guys welcome to the sports caster and her son, and we are just reminiscing about the greatest season and Blackhawk history two, thousand, ten, both of you guys part of it and Let's start with Brian like. You're obviously the Stanley Cup is the greatest memory but when you think of the team what comes to mind about that squad. Probably like the year before and that year obviously it's Kinda like that group was kind of together for a couple of years I think it was just. Everybody had you know we a lot of young guys? I was older older for that team and I think it was just like we love to go on the road we love. Hanging out at home. It was kind of it was always just a team that would that always wanted to be around each other and you don't see that whole lot especially. Even in today's game with younger players. Young teams they still didn't do much team bonding and you know going out just whether it's going up for dinner or drinks or plant you know bowling whatever it is. It was always something that the guys wanted to do and be around each other. You know it's funny. You actually say that because I remember after the Third Cup win with the Blackhawks I said Oh. My Gosh guys are married. They have kids this is so different from two thousand ten because it was such a young team I don't know if anybody was married except maybe Marion Hosa I would it was such a young team Colin Woody remember about the guys on that team. Bryant. Hit the nail on the head for the Camaraderie was really through the roof and soupy. We signed him as a free agent but if you go back prior to if you go to the Three and four drafts specifically the Oh four one when you have. been. Fickle I can't even remember everyone got through that was like the core of your team. So go back to the minor leagues nor folk and rock was myself and brower. Bercy and Buffalo and and Boland, Corey Crawford and all these guys. So we were friends even you know three or four years prior to winning it in two thousand ten. So we kind of had this good Camaraderie Golan for a number of years. and. I mean Bryant you grow. Beers or meals or really anything we kinda for whatever reason a bunch of good personalities and everyone seemed to get along well, and we we fight like brothers to. But at the same time, we all respected each other everyone played hard and played for each other and I don't know we were able to kind of throw it all together and and win the win win a cop I go. I was only part of the twenty ten cup but I like I said it's the best one 'cause that makes me feel extra special better than the other. Blackhawks. Absolutely one of my favorite things about sports is hearing about like the championship moment of teams whether it be like the regular season or the playoffs when you Kinda know that you're going to win it all that year. So tell me about like. Did. You guys have that moment and if so when was it playoffs? Regular Season Stanley Cup final you know I think for me and and probably two times when I felt that. The one was a regular season. We're probably forty five games into the season team. We had a great team actually we had a really good team or plan not bad hockey, but we picked up. Hosa that summer shoulder surgery so he missed. The first forty semi games in the season, and then we played in San Jose and I know everybody remembers in see scores on a breakaway. We're all sitting on the bench like Oh, my gosh. Wow like. You. Know how good he was. You know how great he was. So. That was that was hit two goals that game I never remember anything about regular season really and I remember this time when he had two goals and. we were just like you know this is we're having misguided this lineup now pretty special and then. Another one is obviously won't be eight, four, I think they were. Kinda. Looks like the Goliath was like this seems like. They're better than us kind of thing and. We matched up well some, but to beat them four straight was pretty crazy in my mind from they were playing regular season in the playoffs and was that Kinda ruled into the Stanley Cup final series. I don't think we played our best hockey against billy but were we played good enough. To get the job done Colin went about you. I think yeah for me. So I, I got a couple of one I remember that was Hosa marrying hosted moment that he's talking about and. Haas he's like the guy that. Talks like underrated he really is I didn't know we just maybe not because he just went to the of fame, but he doesn't really get talked about enough for what he brought to to every team he played on. If you think about before the Hawks, he spent two years straight in the Stanley Cup finals and this is a guy that I feel very fortunate and lucky to. Played hockey with only teammate but but as a player in to spin off that the the moment for me was the first round, we've all seen the school played over and over through Colbert here Haas or the whole story really hot takes a five minute major were down at goal to Nashville and he comes back and scores the the game winning goal in overtime..

"Charlie and with my different Terry Hershey and we are. We're talking about what I thought would be a pretty straightforward topic that's turned out to be much more complicated than than I thought it would be, and we're talking about the content ever character and how? What kind of society do we live been? That character is not. At least it, you know I, think. I think it's kind of secretly admired, but not overtly admired I mean I think people recognize trustworthy and respectful person, and they and they love them and honor them, but they don't. It doesn't get. It doesn't draw lot of press and so terry and I were talking about as we before we went on break is how does one go about? Go about as been. Franklin would have written because he wrote a lot on character about. What is? What are some good attributes of character without making it a simple checklist and You know how well am I doing today at that? What what kinds of? What kinds of prostheses might we use to? Become a person of character, or maybe not for its for us to become a person of character, but also I think I think what it takes Terry because I'm going to answer the question. It becomes admiring a person of character. And finding a role model that I want to be like that person I see someone said I wanna be like that person I'm not after that person's power I'm after that person's heart. Yeah I didn't. That's that's good So because I was thinking about the question you asked before the break, which is What would be the? What would be? The because I'm thinking the questions I would ask people. and. and. Here are the two questions for me. Charlie. Is One is because the people I know of character. mother Theresa. Who wouldn't. Martin Luther King Junior Mr Rogers. My Grandmother. People of character at some point in life. Had to take themselves out of the center of their life, and they had understand the concept of mercy. And the and the concept of mercy, but that also implies. An understanding that you need mercy. In the sense that. Mercy if you if I league mercy than we're going back to the very beginning of your of your comments, which is therefore I am not the center of the world. Therefore I'm not the center of at even this conversation. Therefore I I'm not. I'm not the center another anybody who has to make themselves. The center doesn't has not received mercy. That's a great comment. That's a that's a that's a great could. Could you perhaps? Give an example of that, could you? Could you elaborate on that a bit because I love that concept? Does a company out you? Record giving. Is that At some point I after wrestle with the fact that everything I thought I needed to be. To be quote, somebody. was either a not sufficient. or or or be didn't matter. And cause the second thing I read as of yours. The second thing after mercy is grace which I can talk about. But Bercy is the fact that There is a lifeline to me. That Terry this Terry without that of a stuff is enough. And therefore I don't need to I don't need to be. There's no need for puffery. There's no need for. Participating there! There's no need to be compass. There's no need to have character as an accomplishment acquisition. Or as a consumer. If his matter of fact, it it it. It really goes against the whole purpose of the. Of the exercise. Hundred percent. So so, do you think do Jesus words? Of. Consider the needs of one another as greater than your own is a pathway to character. Yeah I mean. 'cause he turned everything on its head. He turned the Old Testament system which was. You know thank God. At least we have list. We know what the list is. You know and I'm not. I get that, but he said there's something underneath that basically what you're saying. And you know the his a lot of his comments the least in these you know. or or praying for people that are in. All the stuff that we can only do. With I don't need to do it, there'd be impressive. So it, really it really. It seems in our discussion that is coming down to. What is important? Is it. Is it power and stuff. Or is it a genuine? Humility of self and caring for other people. I mean you know that that would be? That would be character right there, humility of south and caring for other people and and and consistency, and then we could just keep going on and on, and you can see I. Mean I mean I take Jesus for example and. Any of this conversations in the New Testament. As soon as someone entered his fear. The the the emphasis of the focus was on them the other person. That was extraordinary. Number words he didn't need to be somebody who do something and that's why I've been pressure this rogers. That's what happens with mistrial years. He didn't need to be important. You need to be the center. You can't do Charlie. You can't do things like love, one another or the least of these pray for enemy. If you have to be the center, you can't. Yeah. That's You know it reminds me of you know my listeners. Fortunately I haven't spoken of for a long time, but you know. In Richard ROHR's first and second half of life, it really talks about second half leading not fulfilling the EGO and not having all these ego demands and. And letting go of the EGO and letting go and then. More. More of a giving an a complementing sort of heart, sort of sort of way of law on the ask you a question because that's..

And all that stuff you portray yourself as a certain thing on instagram but reality we're living in the real world without what instagram all. This other shit like would you be doing you know exactly I got the difference between the fixed mindset growth mindset so it says when it comes to challenges of fixed mindset will avoid challenges but the growth mindset when it breaks obstacles it says that the fix mindset will give up easily but the growth mindset will persist thrown will ever it says that the fixed mindset will see efforts as fruitless banned the growth mindset will see them as a patch to master data says that between the criticism for criticism it who says that the fixed mindset north criticism Lawrence From and in a success it says that for the fix mindset parts of See Success in others in like gets jealous or they feel threat and then of course the growth mindset. They find lessons in okay. Okay you've gotta find less than everything signs everywhere for us. You just gotTa you gotta be gotta be open to receive multiple obliged to from name mistakes. That's that's a big problem that people have those people feel when other people think of. And that's everybody downfall until you figure out until you realize that what other people think of you don't do shit see. I mean like what I thought was going to do. What do you think me thinking down all your hat at like? You know. I'm thinking what does that do so people won't get offended because they they're not in tune with themselves they don't they don't know how to control their emotions. That's why people popoff instantly like what would you say you know. I look at it like that school that she opinion. Keep it to yourself. You know what I'm saying. It has nothing to doing me. I went down southbound from me where so it was a lot of differences the FBI prepared for people to not think like you viva prayer for people to do things differently from you mean. "After crossing the border. He made his way. Hey to Winnipeg Manitoba arriving on June eighth nineteen twenty seven looking for a place to stay earl charmed his way into a boarding house. Run run by a woman named Catherine Hill. He gave her a fake name. pater a dollar as a deposit and promised to get her three more dollars by the end of the week unfortunately unfortunately he gave Catherine Hill something much worse instead on that same day. A fourteen year old girl named Lola Cohen was walking walking down the street selling paper flowers door to door. Perhaps she knocked on Catherine doar and earl answered or perhaps earl met her on the street and asked her to to return to his room with him. Whatever the case earl got lola into his room alone and in typical gorilla man fashion? He strangled her with his bare hands. Earl Hid Lola's body underneath his bed then went to sleep back in the morning. He left the boardinghouse logging his bedroom door behind him. He began to wander the streets of Winnipeg looking for his next victim them. He found her that very same afternoon. Emily Patterson was inside her home cleaning when Earl Nelson Nelson spotted her through the window unlike most victims. Emily was not a landlady. Nobody knows how earl- got inside the Patterson home but once he did he strangled emily. He then violated her body and stuffed her corpse beneath her bed. Earl stole well. One of Emily's husband suits seventy dollars in cash and emily's golden wedding ring. He left the house shortly. After and began wandering Winnipeg once more for when Emily's husband William returned home that evening he was wrought with worry. His wife was nowhere to be. We found after several hours of searching William finally decided to turn in for the night. He knelt down beside his bed at eleven thirty PM and prayed to God put asking that he helped him find his wife. Once he finished praying he stood his leg caught the sheets that covered the side of the bed as the sheets sheets lifted. He caught a glimpse of his wife's sweater underneath. He knelt down once more to see the horrific sight of his wife brutalized. Why is it violated? And Dead William contacted the Winnipeg police as he described the crime to the police. They immediately knew who who had committed it. Tales of earls horrific crimes had traveled all the way to Canada long before he himself had actually arrived the stories of a roving in killer where the first of their kind and the spooky nature of a murderous drifter fascinated the public even internationally using a description of earl the American newspapers. The police set out to find him by speaking to shopkeepers and passer-by in the area they traced earls movements back to Catherine Hills boarding house when they told her about the man they were after. She initially didn't believe that the charming Christian man she had allowed into her home was a killer Dr yet when they checked earls room they found fourteen year old. Lola Cohen's corpse rotting underneath his bed with the guerrilla man's identity confirmed and his alias discovered the Winnipeg. Police acted acted fast. They sent word out to the public warning them about a dangerous American loose in their province. People sent in tip after tip effectively effectively tracking drills movements for the police. The police recovered her all five miles north of the candidate. US Border Earl surrendered to the mounties using using a fake name and complied with their every request. They initially doubted that they had captured. The right man as earl was so cooperative however his first night in jail he picked the door to a cell and escaped into the darkness. The police found him the next day and his escape had proved moved his true identity to the police beyond all reasonable doubt. They had finally captured the gorilla himself. As the Canadian. Police began to question Earl. They allowed officers from all over the US to interrogate him as well officers from California Oregon Washington State Iowa Missouri Pennsylvania and so on connected earl to their various unsolved murder cases aces through I. Witnesses and objects earl had stolen from crime scenes. The police suspected earls involvement in twenty nine murders but earl denied his involvement in each and every one in the end the evidence against him was enough to declare him guilty of twenty two killings however however the Canadian courts only prosecuted him for the murders of Lola Cohen and Emily Patterson because they were the only two murders that had occurred within Canada's borders borders. They declared him guilty of first degree murder in both cases and sentenced him to death by hanging the. US law enforcement was satisfied with earls Canadian trials and left him to the justice of the north after all a criminal could not be killed twice And he had already received the death sentence on Friday January Thirteenth Nineteen Nineteen Twenty eight thirty year old Earl Nelson was led to the gallows. They allowed him to speak his last words he cried. I'm innocent I stand innocent before God and Man I forgive those who have wronged me and ask forgiveness of those high of injured. God have Bercy. They placed the rope around his neck led him to the platform and at seven thirty. Am they pulled. The lever earls neck broke rendering him unconscious as he hung from the rope. It's squeezed the air from his lungs. that a poetic twist of fate. The gorilla man died in much the same way as victims. Over the course of seventeen months Earl Nelson murdered at least twenty one women and one eight month old child. He was the most prolific serial sex killer in American history until the crimes of Dean coral were discovered in nineteen seventy-three nearly fifty years later Earl Nelson was also the first American serial killer to get widespread public and press attention his crimes and the tear they struck in the hearts of the American people. Were only the first of a dark and awful pattern to come as has such earl Nelson is credited with igniting. The American fascination with the serial sex murderer earls killing spree even inspired an Alfred Hitchcock doc film titled Shadow of Doubt Hitchcock's personal favorite of all of his films earls mark on American pop culture was deep and and profound and while the gorilla man may be dead and gone his dark and awful legacy lives.

I Want my children who are very young now but one day they're gonNA get old and they're of course going to be huge fans of the EPICA cheaper podcast and shows like it and I want them to really understand that not only is their responsibility as human beings trained. Make the world a better place but you can do this from an entrepreneurial standpoint upon which you can have the life that you want you. Can you can live life on your terms with out having to give up things that matter the most to you earned the type of living you on alert earn and give back and so my legacy is going to be. I hope that my kids look back kind of all this stuff. I've done decades from now whether I'm a super old man or or weather I'm compost and recognize that you know. I really spent my career trying to help people elevate themselves because we all elevate ourselves we're going to make the world a better place. I love that it's so true. The tide rises all ships. So that's beautiful work and living without compromise as the very definition of success and and freedom for sure and now it's time to dig deeper. You'll want to stay tuned to come back after this short break when I interviewed Dr Richard Schuster on how he was able to turn his adversity into an opportunity opportunity and that opportunity.

No, no, not the scary kind the video app from American public media. This is marketplace tech demystifying the digital economy. I'm Molly would. The number of teenagers using Facebook that's been on the decline for years. They've migrated to Snapchat Instagram and about twenty million of them are over on house party a live video app where people drop in on each other and chat or leave video messages, and they can hang out with up to eight people at a time. I know the name house party sounds like kids doing I don't even want to know what on video, but actually co founder and chief operating officers Seamus Donnie, told me she wants house party to be for real personal, connections, and empathy literally no filters, you friend, a group of people ahead of time. And when you open the app, it actually notifies them that you're there, and you're ready to have a conversation. And so it sort of takes the emotional hurdles out of actually video chatting with somebody. Why video there obviously, inherent risks and interacting live on video. Not to mention, you know, just. Bandwith and appearance issues. You know, talk to us about the value of video as a communication tool. That's at the heart of the empathy and how we do that you say appearance like I want people to be proud of. You know, I woke up this way. Right. And if the tool is just about you, and the people you care about you shouldn't need filters. Right. You shouldn't be trying to project yourself as content. You should just be there to have like affirmation from a qualitative perspective, not validation by numbers. And I really hope that like we have a generation grows up knowing the right reaction to sadness, not just the right emoji. So talk to me about how that's reflected in the product design. Like, I assume that you're getting rid of things like likes and little hearts that pop up the screen and things that feel sort of addictive and engaging as opposed to. Antic? Well, we're not getting rid of it. We just never even built it. There's no feed it's been built by designed to promote the human connection and just showing up. We just want it to be as easy as showing up and being able to connect with people you care about. And I I see that with my kids. You are daily habit is during dinnertime, so my family's in Alabama. My husband's family's in Virginia. My best friends are in Chicago. And we'll just open it up. And it's whoever's there, but it's a predetermined group of people that I've decided that I fronted and my son now has like a very meaningful. My daughter have a very meaningful online relationship with these people. And that's not something you can do a synchronised Li it's not something that you can do in a news feed. And I'm not saying that those things shouldn't exist. There's world for them. I just think that we can all do a better job of time. Well, spent that see MRs Donnie co founder and chief operating officer at house party as. As for how you make money off empathetic and real interactions.
