Britt Lyle II on design
"Your host Maris cherry and this week. I'm talking with Britt Lyle the second a Motion Graphics designer here in Atlanta, Georgia. Let's start the show. All right. So tell us who you are and what you do. My name is Britt Lyle. I am a motion graphic designer. I'm a graphics assistant at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Now, I've been asking everyone, you know kind of starting off for these interviews how they're sort of holding up right now, you know, we're recording this right now in late September. It's pretty easy. I think well known that we're going to be in the states for a while. Now, how have you been holding up during this pandemic? Oh, wow, there have been like there been good days and bad days. I've been holding up generally well, but like there have been, you know good days and bad days. Like I said I tend to deal with anxiety sometimes so that has been kind of a struggle wage. Kind of cope with along with like just regular anxiety Then the election and covid-19. Like one of the things I learned in grad school is like you have to take time to for yourself, especially in stressful situations. And this entire year has just been one big stressful situation off. So it's very very important to like make yourself as comfortable as possible. Especially someone who like regularly deals with anxiety and off. Yeah, so I just basically just tried to make sure that if I feel like in some type of anxiety attack coming that I make sure to remove myself from the situation and ground myself before coming back to reality so to speak gotcha. Now let's talk about your work at sports and entertainment and can you kind of briefly describe what a MB sports and entertainment is and just sort of what is a regular day like for you right now since you're working from home, so am be Sports entertainment. We are sort of like a company within a company job. We do work for the Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta United. My job specifically is Graphics assistant. So basically that means I help out anyone else you need help with any other big project whether it's coming up with Gameday Graphics video editing color correction or any other regular or irregular occurrence. I might occur to you today. How did you get started there on a whim a lot of a lot of the jobs that I've gotten in particularly designed jobs of Applied on a whim. So I was laid off at my previous job, which I was very very sad about and I was just applying applying everywhere that I can and I saw the post for graphics assistant at a MB. And again, it was one of those things for me. It's like I can't in good conscience past this up and say Thursday. I tried everything that I could so I apply thinking that like I wouldn't hear anything and they turned out to be one of the few people that actually gave me like like three rounds of interviews and hired me within like a month. Nice. Yeah, so you mentioned, you know kind of working on these, you know, not random projects, but you kind of work on an ad-hoc basis as an assistance. So are there any sort wage projects that you like take the lead on or you always kind of working in that second kind of capacity mostly in a secondary capacity because there are people who have been there since the building open since as soon as construction ended they hired a design team and those and some of those people have left but there are still some people have been there since its Inception and they kind of know they build out the process. They're the ones who really like all the assignments all of the the dimensions birth. All the renders all of these little details. They're the ones who built it from the ground up and I'm essentially follow the process. I'll give my two cents every now and then if I feel like it'll help but for the most part they have pretty much have like a game plan laid out for how certain things are done and how certain things are processed. And so, you know, just so folks name Mercedes-Benz stadium in Atlanta is fairly new. I think it was opened and what 2018-2017 2017-2017? Okay, and then prior to that it not in the same space, but pretty close to it was the Georgia Dome that's where I used to work actually years and years and years and years ago. I worked for the Georgia Dome the the Georgia World Congress Center and since Olympic Park, so I'm familiar with that whole kind of campus area and I know back then I mean Georgia Dome all that is owned by the state, but Mercedes-Benz is privately owned. Do you know if off? Any of the the Congress Center staff works there also since it's so close not intimately like I think some people transferred but I mean as far as I know most people have been there since MBS was a thing. I'm not sure if any other people from Georgia Congress moved on to other projects, but I do know that they got a lot of different people from a lot of different places to kind of help build this team up. Yeah. I was just always curious about that cuz I still know a good number of people over there so long what's the best thing you would say about the work that you do? All of the work that I do is like kind of unconventional and well, I guess not unconventional like sort of a dimension sizes that I do that I work with like no one else in the world really works with these type of Dimensions cuz inside the stadium there's this song Halo board, and it's like six feet high, I think it's got like Fifty four thousand LED lights on it and the the file sizes and the dimensions that we work with are just pretty unorthodox and pretty wild to kind of like work with and when I first got started, you know someone I got trained in art school or just doesn't in designing was as the standard 1920 x 1080 and then suddenly I have to deal with sizes that are like fifty thousand nine fifty thousand five thousand or ten thousand sizes and it's kind of weird but it's also kind of cool cuz like you you kind of makes my portfolio stand out a little bit off and yeah, I guess that would be the best thing is that like I do I do the type of design that are very different than anyone else does and it may be kind of hard to put on social. Which is why I tend to put it on my website, but at the same time like not a lot of people can say they have designed the stuff that I designed and

3 Signs of Deviant Benzo Prescribing
"A group of French psychiatrist released two papers this month that looked at how often physicians prescribe benzodiazepines and hypnotic in ways that deviate from the guidelines. The result twenty to thirty percent of those prescriptions deviated, and the rate was even higher in chronic medical and psychiatric disorders, forty five to sixty eight percent. But what I found most useful in this paper was the definition of deviation based it on French guidelines, and whether you agree with them or not. I think it's aluminum for all of us to think about these guidelines, and how often were off the mark? Here are three qualities of deviant benzoate prescribing. One duration prescribing benzoate for longer than one month when used for sleep or longer than three months when used for anxiety. To half-life prescribing benzes with a half life longer than twenty hours in people who are over aged seventy, five or people who are over aged, sixty five, and have two or more active medical problems. Or over age, sixty five and taking five or more medications, so which bends does have a long half-life that would be die as a Pam Valium Kloner Pamplona. Pin Arousa. transgene clorox supplied librium, one of the longest half-lives quasi-penal Doro and arguably praise lamb xanax. Three, prescribing, two or more ben does at the same time. So how justified these guidelines! I agree with the one about the long half-life those do increase the risk of falls memory problems as well as the overdose risk when used with opioids, a short half life benzoate like Morozov Pam Outta van to Mazza, Pam restaurant will or one of the safest oxy's Pam Sarah is preferable particularly in the elderly, and while short term use of benzodiazepines ideal. There's at least one disorder where long term use. Use is acceptable. That's panic disorder panic. Disorder is where Benzodiazepines have the best evidence and two are FDA approved there. Unfortunately, they kind of have a long half Life Plaza Pam and I'll praise lamb, generalized anxiety, disorder and social anxiety disorder are close seconds when it comes to the best evidence for using benzes in anxiety disorders. They are controversial in PTSD and they don't work in OCD. Which is no longer classified as an anxiety disorder.
Americans have filed more than 40 million jobless claims in past 10 weeks, as another 2.1 million filed for benefits last week
"There there is is this this contagious contagious this this to to re re opening opening and and we're we're in in the the middle middle of not only a global pandemic that is impacted so many American businesses and we are in the middle of a quarter second quarter twenty twenty supposed to be an amazing quarter and now we're going to be down thirty plus percent a lot like the depression here we are in a week where we had another chewed more than two million people lost their jobs this week more than two million people are sort of we're we're up to forty million forty million jobs have been lost over the last ten weeks and I and I think about what how many people is that per day it is it's a staggering number to half a million more than a half million people that's eleven and a half Mercedes Benz stadium's on a good on a good day right begin been given a pink slip now there is good news about if you look at that that's going to see the headline Alan is this Hey we've got forty million people that are jobless no no no they filed a jobless claim it actually doesn't mean the forty million who are employed about twenty were at twenty one million continuing claims continuing claims are those who are still in place so that's a lot of people millions or maybe not the full twenty million if if you look at the two differences forty million jobless claims Israel initially lost job twenty one million people now continuing to be jobless does that mean we've we've had nineteen million hirings probably not exactly the math doesn't work out perfectly like that but millions and millions
Creating Custom Voice Experiences for Auto Brands with Kyle Halstvedt & Scott Halstvedt at SoundHound Inc.
"As a business partner to many automakers. Can you talk about some of the common elements car manufacturers need to consider when designing for Voice Interfaces Riccar? Yeah that's a great question. I actually did. Listen to me has piece on your show to is very interesting conversation. You had I think cars the car. Application is not the only application of voice interfaces but it is a great place to showcase the uniqueness of voice interface today and you can see that in in the stuff that knee high said our partners at Mercedes Benz R D are experts wallace than very fruitful. The partner with them to create a great experience. But I think the in car use case arrived. People talk about safety his. That's kind of the the straightforward if you want something that's hands free but I think that's good but it's not the whole picture you also want to make. An interface. Appeals FLUID. Easy in powerful does not just hand. We also don't need your mind to be focused on the cognitive burden of of adjusting settings com on things. Like that. Want Your Mind. Be Free to pay attention the road as well as your hands. So there's kind of settled. I think common elements that can get you close to that. Yeah I think regarding the common elements I think that they fit into a few categories so the first one that is really really important going back to stops comments about the sort of clue. of the interface in needs to be really easy to discover what features are available and actually used US features in a flexible way so there are lots of different pieces that ended up adding up to that fluid and discoverable experience for the customer. The storm really is that it needs to integrate very well with the car's features. That's kind of a prerequisite but there are other pieces. That help this like Having helpful prompts and dialogues answering the question how do I use this thing? I think actually that has to happen. Both in a software ends the voice interface itself. Like if you design a product that has voice interface and just kind of stick it on there with one little button and that's the only kind of indication that there's a voice interface integrated with the car. It's kind of difficult for people to to learn what it can do how it works people. Sit Down in your new car and push the voice button. They're not even necessarily driving. It doesn't have to work well. It doesn't have to be that discoverable not even paying attention to it but if it has no integration with car. It's hard to you know you can say when you go to play around with that. Punctuality your car right so it should be an present companion with the rest of the features of the car instead of being kind of silent on its own. Recently I was caught shopping myself and I got a lot of mileage out of my older car because I wanted to avoid buying a vehicle. That was in the office or the twenty jeans because I think that the voice our faces and in general the the user interfaces in cars from back period of time Really worrying a bit of a slump and needed some Polish and we started pulling out of that but still even in my twenty nineteen vehicle of unnamed brand the voice interface is it's completely separate stream and it doesn't integrate well with the rest of the features in the car and I guess you know. Obviously we can talk about this for a long time. But the other of major components I think on top of that are obviously a good voice interface. So I think you need to be able to recognize. Long COMPLEX UTTERANCES. Do things quickly for the user. But that's Dermot on the voice interface side. Make sure that that works. Well you don't want to say you know finding restaurants but exclude Italian. Return Italian restaurants especially in an in-car voice interface because that leads us to watch it on the screen if they get incorrect results and the last thing is you have to think about when you're integrating worse assistant what the future looks like as well so the design that you're you're putting together is not just when you can do right now but which will be able to do. I think mayhem mentioned actually talked with you that Slowly users will start to trust their vehicles more and need to design for diabetes cases. Well
Mixed Making Metaphors
"So yeah. We didn't put a video last week. It got caught up in some other things in waiting on approvals so this week probably have to videos coming. No one will be the shaper. I think we discussed that last week. And then and then I also Since make an video had a conversation with one of the guys from shaper and and Dessum really cool people and they just wanted to hear my my my feedback. Good or bad and it's just sounds like they are just committed to improving that machine. Which is it's a pretty easy machine to work with as of right. Now Sean Sean Sean Great Dude. He helped me out when I did the video. Shut OUT TO SEAN over ship. We met workbench come. I met him. He's very tall. Yup got a nice tall nice. That's to qualities. I look for in a any human. It's not true gladys we get another video coming out on bending plastic bent plastic in a few different ways and that one is done. It's waiting for the sponsor to approve it and that should be any day we There's a bunch of DIY. Plastic bending. Jackson were people will take like a heating element from a A hairdryer or space heater. There's a couple of other ones. I bought one of those single hot plate. Burners cost twelve bucks and I was going to take the guts of that which pretty basic and wire up a thin wire to to To heat up like a really small area plastic and it turns out that the coil the burner part is bendable so I was able to bend it into a straight line and then I of shut it into some tubing to keep it nice and straight because it wants to spring back and we were able to get nice perfect long straight heat Into the plastic for for nice easy bands and it was one of those accidental. A Ha moments and it was an worked great and a lot of the jigs. They have this hinged back. So you can ben and we found that we made one and it just complicated the process so we just heated the plastic over the straight line and then just spend it by hand was so much easier and release to get nice precise Ben's because after like forty seconds wherever you're holding it'll just stay right there cool so I have a question about the whole plastic bending thing when you went into making that into a video like with. That was the intent of the thing in when you finished. It was there as much Were more or less like technique or tips. You know when you went through the whole fan. Did you get out of it what you were expecting or was it more or less or what? I think I knew what a what a only in the jig making process for for the one technique did I. I thought this is going to be super easy and just going to unhook the burner and I'm going to put a wire in there And then that's whatever and it didn't work out as easy as I thought and I thought I needed this. Bendy jig thing. That just complicated. So I didn't really learn any new techniques or pick up some new tidbits. It was more about the Jig of. I thought I needed this. Everybody says you need this. Turns out you don't there's an easier way and And we so we did one with the Heating wire we did another moment. Just a heat gun and some clamps in some some calls to keep the plastic in place. We did one with toaster oven. We one with boiled water like a like a double boiler type thing and it was the boiled water in a record in their takes it like as soon as the record hits the water you can bend it to any shape you want and then you have like five seconds to shape it and then it's stays there and if you mess it up throw it right back. The water remembers plastic. Seems to remember. It's original position so if you screw something up just heated up again or I WANNA go back to that original state and then you can kind of Redo what you did It was one of those videos are. It's just a pure tip video but it's going to help me design projects in the future because now I know I can do this quickly and easily also learned that the shooting video shooting photographs of clear acrylic is hard impossible. Yeah I made this one this one show. GonNa make sure you're wearing pants when you shoot stuff you do you do because you never know now we? We made this one shelf piece. Still this idea from one of the books that I have where you think of it as a as a flat sheet and then an upside down U is cut out of there and then you take that you and you bend down and you have a shelf and we did like a two tiered shelf thing and that was clear. I was photographing that for the Youtube. Thumbnail make you can't see what this so I had actually make another one out of a like a yellow acrylic but clear clear clear. Acrylic looks really cool and person especially when you get into the thicker stuff. Here's the shelf video. We show me cutting out with the Jigsaw. But the one in the here's the final product was cut with the laser. Because it's just I wanted to show that you can cut this with the jigsaw with the right blade but it's so much quicker and easier and precise when you cut it with a laser so
Our Big Move Is Officially Underway (& We Have Some Predictions)
"Everything has gone according to plan or at least mostly according to plan we should be in Florida by the time. You are hearing this this past sharing John Though sitting in Richmond recording this. Because we're trying to be responsible and get an episode together just in case stuff. It's the fan when we get to learn and we don't have an Internet connection and can't go to podcast. We don't know what's going to happen so we're just covering our base. Yeah I figure even if everything goes smoothly with getting the Internet connected and stuff like that. Just general unpacking and getting settled may make it tough to get an episode out this week so we figured let's get one ready just in case so we are in Richmond still recording this. This is a serious head. Pass John and Jerry. Enrichment record this episode so next episode we should hopefully have some updates about how Florida is and all that stuff and obviously you can always check in for more real time things on our instagram or instagram's stories. I don't know who is watching my stellar peony update where every day. I went outside and filled by peonies waiting for them to open. That's all news. That's Richmond News. It really is. I wonder what will be the equivalent of that maybe in my white big huge flowers on the Magnolia trees which right now do not have any flowers. But I'm going to be on Magnolia. Flower Watch in Florida. Because that's what stories demands of me. I give the people what they want. Okay it's me eating blocks of cheese and filming flowers and videos of Burger. Which I we'RE GONNA learn. We can do in any state right. I'll travel well and I realize I should have clarified earlier. When I said our next episode will be recorded in Florida. That next episode is going to be in two weeks on June. First because next week is Memorial Day. We had planned to take off originally when we had like plans back in early. Two Thousand Twenty before we knew it was to happen. Yes but we figured we're still going to take off because I'm sure we could use the time to get more settled in Florida and stuff like that so we will be back with a new episode on June first. Yes and I've been getting so many messages from people who are like. Are you going to go away for the summer? I love that you spend time with your family totally respect that you guys need a break from the podcast Blah Blah Blah but. Please don't leave us rate as you move into the house in Florida because we're GonNa WanNa know all the stories. We completely agree. We took the summer off previously. Because we like spending that time with their kids in managing the duplex. Obviously everything is different. Now don't have the duplex. There's at home learning so the kids are around all the time now anyway and so. Our plan is to continue recording throughout the summer. There might be a moment where we decide to take like a four week break sometime in August. Maybe but please don't anticipate that will come back on June. I only to say we're taking the rest of June July and August off. That is definitely not the plan. I know that you guys enjoy the podcast. Even just in a day it is. We also enjoy the structure of recording the podcast each week. And I'm sure I'm going to have so many things to tell you okay. We'll speaking of. Which do you have any guesses for what those stories might be like? Do you have any predictions for what are move will be like Ooh? I like predictions of the future. Okay so I think we will still have lots of boxes to pack even though we will have lived there for. I don't know probably a week by the time. This is heard who knows. But I think that's a pretty safe prediction. I know that's very safe. Maybe one of our appliances will break. That's so funny. You said that I had that same worry because we are using the existing appliances that were in the kitchen came with the house. They conveyed and they're kind of an assortment I would say yes our washer and dryer going to be new. But we're GONNA have an old fridge and all dishwasher and old stove so I do have a slight panic that we'll get their load the dishwasher and then go to run it be like. Oh this is shooting water everywhere. I also feel like something is going to be weird about the first night there because our plan is to drive one full day way. Says it's like twelve hours and fifteen minutes but you know there's going to be stops in there to get gas and go to the bathroom and the bags faithfully and like a safe zone. Not In the shoulder. Yes we do. Lose an hour or gain in our. We're going back in time zone. So we're in the eastern time zone now. We're going to end up central so that will help us a little bit. Yeah my goal is to leave really really really early. In the morning. Kids might sleep for the first part of it will just feel bright eyed and bushy tailed. Because it's hard for us to sleep in on a very exciting day anyway and then it gives us a slight chance of making it there while it's still light because I have this vision of the kids seeing the house for the first time in running all around the magic of the light streaming in and them seeing they're really cool vaulted ceilings. And I want them to see the special trees. I want to go out on the deck with them on the second floor at the birds like I want light. I think your expectations of it higher than mine. I will just be happy if we get there with enough energy to get everything out of the car and inside and like the beds made for the first night like that is my bar ran by Benz. You mean matches on the floor exactly. It's very low bar. Do you remember in our second house how we slept on a mattress on the floor for a long time and then suddenly very over it like it was fine for a while and then we got to this point where we were like. We can't live like this. Well we keep thinking here now in Richmond like we should really get our beds ordered so when we get there we can set up the beds quickly. But we're just having trouble making the decision about beds from afar like there's a few we like but every time we get close to the checkout button. Let's just wait and look at things in person and make sure this is right. I don't know why we're having that hang up this time around but I think we want to get it right and not get the wrong bed and so just feels a little bit risky to do it before we're actually there. Yeah I think it's mostly in the kids rooms because in our room. We know we're just going to have like a regular old queen size bed. It's what we've always had truthfully king size bed wouldn't even fit on wall and we're fine. We've been in a queen for so long. When people say is a queen too small I always say dude reached to sheriff. Full Queen is big for us but we know our bed and the placement of our bad. We even have little outlets on either side of the bed for the night tables. It's just our kids rooms. That were totally unsure about because they have a lot of ideas we want to give them a lot of freedom in their spaces there have been moments. Our Son has said he wants a bunk bed and other moments. He really wanted a bed with drawers under and gone into detail for about fifteen minutes about what he's going to win the doors so we're going to get there see if it makes sense in his room to put it against a certain wall and same for our daughter's room it's like we're not quite sure which wall we're GONNA use what we're gonNA put where so. We're just going to wait to get there. I feel like we'll have a better result if we're patient but we definitely tempted to just make a decision so that it's one less thing to do but I'm just trying to hold off for the benefit of the better outcome and faster outcome weight but going back to your prediction about something weird happening the first night. Are you saying like the smoke alarm? Goes off or like in the house not possum. There would be a sign. No I think just like one of the mattresses doesn't arrive or like it takes a lot longer. It's like unfold. Fill up like half predicting an uncomfortable first night sleeping there which I think is partially me just being John. We're caring for the worst trying to set my expectations so I don't put them to. Hi John is always worry about. Something is and I'm always like it'll be fine. It'll be fine and you know what half the time he's right and half the time right. Well you know it's GonNa be a long day. I'm not getting myself that we're going to be getting up earlier. We driving a lot and so I think it is a day would be nice to have a very comfortable bed to sleep in that night and I'm just trying to brace myself. Might not be comfortable for the first night. I feel like that day is going to be so exciting. Even though it's going to be a long drive I can already picture the like thousands of conversations. We're going to be having as we go down and things we see out the window and stuff we're looking forward to and like I don't know I just think it will become real that day. It'll be so exciting for the kids that day and like actually a lot of people ask me if we wanted to stay like in an interim place like there are actually a few homes in our neighborhood that we've learned through the realtor and other people are vacant and we could stay in them not like an AIRBNB. They're like someone secondary residence but nobody is traveling right now for that. And so our realtor very sweetly was like. Do you want me to organize a way that you could like. Stay in. Someone's home for a few nights just to like get settled and get your beds up and make sure the dishwasher works and all this stuff and I just couldn't bring myself to do it because I keep thinking of the magic of that day of our kids like getting in the car in our house in Richmond and then like getting there and the memories are of going from our old house to our new

I'm not the girl who I feel like okay. We dated. We got married. We tried to make it work. It didn't work. We got divorced. You know what works with you and your husband what is it that keeps you like happy and centered and safe. What what is it about him that you just go? This is I like this. We respect each other a lot I. We're very independent. 'cause he has his career I have mine and We don't take each other for granted and we make sure we spend time together. Yeah I think spending time together is important of a rule. When you're working you have to see each other every yeah we try not to go longer than two to three weeks without seeing each other And I don't think we've ever broken that rule but We just make it work where you know when I was filming in Toronto in defiance and he was there for season one because we had just gotten married and he was in between jobs so he just came and stayed for all of season one but then season to season three He. He was Flying back and forth a lot but he'd be like I have to go to New York for a meeting and I'd be like well. I'm not working so I'll just pop down to New York to see you again just was like so we started doing more of that kind of seven years. Now seventy yeah. We've got to meet him. "Hard is it to be a kid who does raise gets everything that they want? Well we we didn't and get average. We weren't very home. We weren't spoiled completely. I mean you can't have three kids and ice skating and not have money. Ice Skating is extremely the expensive sport Because all the training coaching lesson time ice rink time. The costumes competitions that traveling being like so. It's a lot so they were spending a lot a large portion of money on the demand. Good grades from you surgeon. They did but I naturally naturally got good grades. You didn't I barely stay. I mean I'm telling you right now. I had thought about this for a while and I thought about teachers features that really made an influence on my wife and there weren't many but there were enough enough that saw through the annoying. Add Kid who just couldn't focus. There were a few that just all you need is really one who believes in you back. Then teaching was so different like they took a kid like you and labeled you bad ad versus like really recognizing whether you're dyslexic or eighty or whatever. They weren't really aware of that back then. No and it just was in paddling. We we had corporal punishment I got paddled. Oh Yeah I got to ask wacked out of me was it. Was it like a hard wooden paddle Catholic school or public. It was a public school. Wow I got paddled and But I I just WanNa facebook tune Mrs Muller Mrs Royale missus Meyer Mr Morrow uh-huh there's some other MRS skinner and Yes and I wrote this thing I put pictures of them and I said these are the teachers That just just you know when I think of like what got me through. Things was Mrs Muller Teaching Me Romeo and Juliet but like in a fun way that even a kid who was such such a tent tension problems and all these things she had a way of just making me understand and making me like Romeo and Juliet GonNa be in English literature in that one semester and then the rest are Caesar ds or whatever go there. Mrs Row made history. Okay I remember. She had patients. I remember there's this Barney. Rubble at the bottom of a Fruity fruit loops box. And I remember can't Brennaman whizzing it by my head and it went went through three giant world maps. This little Barney. Rubble doesn't wrote her roadmaps. She goes Michael Cat out mall and we went down the hall but she had a sense of humor about it and she didn't like punish us and get so mean she was like what do I have to do with you to like. She got a kick kick out of us even though we were bastards and like the the substitute teacher came in. Did you have teachers like that. Who just like or were you? Were you picked on Ed Mani were you or were you kind of popular well. I was barely in school. I mean we only went to school for hours a day because we trained for four hours in the morning before school school and then we went to school a half day and then we left school and went to train another four hours so we were popular and that everybody knew us because we were the family of ice skaters skaters and everybody knew my brother and sister. No I tried to get jewels to stick and no one would stick it nickname. The three the three. Oh you know the three boys we were just. The Ben Skids the Ben's kids and so I remember I remember junior year era at the end of the year. Jeff Hagan turned to me. And he's like were you even in school this year. I know thing did you Judeh guys in high school I did I did I did. Were you. Were the handsome. Do you remember the real good looking guy that you dated. I dated a lot of guys. Did you devirginized is young age. I lost my virginity at probably. Almost eighteen. I was I was. It was the end of Sophomore Year of high school. Also your fifteen fifteen. It wasn't Jeff. Wasn't you know it was Roger Case Roger Caisson yet no-no where was it. It was at his parents house. Really were there. They were gone. Nervous service no because I wanted to lose my virginity to him because he was he was the guy that everybody wanted gentle. He was very sweet yes he was yeah he was a little older. Yeah could you gonNA marry this guy I did. It'd be high school sweethearts I want you. Dead We eight months but it was very tumultuous and then we broke up and then broken very heartbroken and then no he he just had some issues young young and then I started dating other like one of his friends. No I never dated. Here's a such a nice guy to uh never dated him though I always. I never dated anybody my grade. I always dated Either older and then when I was a senior than it was younger. Guys with you guys are the ones that go younger. Girls go older younger senior year. Jason Dice Jason. Dies was a sophomore. Now he was a junior I think he was. He was football ballplayer football quarterback. I think so. I should know that I was a team. Mascot at the time I know how does popular being a team mascot else God well but it's bad they would they would For some reason there was like they would always get like three popular girls to be the mascots. Then we'd run around in little ferry suits and cheer and it was. I wanted it so bad because it was such a status symbol but then as soon as I got it I was like. Oh my God this is awful. They don't WanNa do that. How long did you before you had sex with? Geoff dyson quick and did a pretty quick. Yeah what's her right. You're young is young. I also I think after Roger. I realized that nobody I met in high school was going to be my forever so I kinda dated like a guy if that makes any sense so like go Erez like we would day. You're at Walmart can't do that because I I basically knew I was going to go off to New York City and study acting and I was GONNA go to La and who knew who is going to be in Mike. Nobody nobody from my childhood was going to take that journey with me so I just I didn't want any strings attached. Did anyone ever look you up. Lean Jeff Hagan for instance they ever try to reach on facebook and go. Hey It's me how are you love to catch up. You're you're successful. Nobody sorry no I mean people. I mean facebook friends with all my old high school. Yeah Yeah but no I did look Roger case in though after my divorce I it looks as if he does he thinking about it. I was I was like well. Maybe maybe I was wrong. Me I did and we met up up he came out to. La would not visit me. No he had some family stuff he had to do and we met a drink and then I realized now once again wrong again though I think he was open to the idea but I think so I was Kinda like what am I doing. No I didn't and why would the warning sign was he said he just didn't like Los Angeles and you can never seem living in La. And I could never see myself living anywhere else I I did that with a girl wants. I was this girl. I was dating in Montreal. I say girl woman but I think a girl I just say girl boy but She lives in. She lived in Montreal and I was dating her and she was like I go whichever. La She goes no no never never would and she was kind of a teacher and she's great. Hey girl awesome awesome and she goes to Montreal and I go no no but then you sleep with her. Quite the data awesome awesome girl to this day. I mean I haven't talked to her while but I wish the best but would it always kind of shocked my friends one day my friend goes. Hey Man is what's your name on on the Bachelor Mike. What do you mean I'm like damn it is? What's your name on the bachelor ago? What's what's her name? What's her name? Who what's your name? What's her name like? What no what's your name? What's your name would never do the Bachelor Jeff? Hagan would never never. Are you kidding me now now. She's the Montreal she would never and it went on and on and probably go do I. I would bet my house. That's not her. She would never do that. It was did she make it fire. We'll look she won the bachelor one the bachelor a couple of years ago and she's a great girl. I was dating this girl and I was at the Premiere for Guardians of the Galaxy. Lexi to which I was in a great night and then this girl comes home and goes hey she would like to just like you to come say hi to her and her bachelor and I'm like no and then later on. We had a couple of emails. That were Nice. Hey whatever and she's like well you know you're the one who didn't want to come over and say I don't want to come over and say Oh oh I was with a girl that was odd. Why would I want to do that? And by the way why wouldn't you just come over and say hi. Why so somebody? She's again this. I don't know no but I you know Sushi Blonde no okay. What sucks is this? I liked her and and if she would have moved to. La At least been open to the fact that India was just kind of my friends. And I were taken aback when all of a sudden that wasn't even a Yep she's not GonNa have done and then all of a sudden she's on the bachelor. It was just kind of shocking. So yes so that a a case in her case and it didn't work out but you're still he. He's not very active on facebook so he broke his heart. Maybe loose now. I'm sure he's fine. He's doing just fine looking guy. Good family is probably listening. Going that pitch. She dread too much drinker. I like having some wine but I do keep drinking in check. I mean I come from a long line of alcoholics. You do John Everybody. I'm glad he's not a vascular surgeon anymore now and he was doing surgery but since he retired yes and my mom and then I mean when you're saying alcoholics that's a very that's a heavy when I think of like certain people like Oh they're not an alcoholic all they like some drinks here and there but they were alcohol. Ix is what you're saying. I define alcoholics by if if your personality changes when you drink. Oh Oh yeah. Let me tell you that people can drink a lot. And they're fine the biggest issue for me. It's when the personality changes if you here's what I said I'm not gonNA mention your name your friend or whatever I just said. Hey Look I love you. You're the most amazing person in the world sober when you get drunk. I just I don't know you and you get a little volatile. It's unpredictable and I just don't like this person. I've said it to family members when I drank frank. I'm aware and hypersensitive. Sometimes I'm like God. I wish I wasn't so aware of myself because I don't like go nuts or anything but I'm controlled like I don't one of my personality to change. I don't WANNA become unpredictable. And when it gets angry or volatile or they make big because first of all. I don't care who you are alcohol. When he started drinking Sir do drugs you make mistakes man? I don't care if you're an alcoholic or not. I've made many mistakes because I was just drinking and I felt good so I'll do that right. Not a good decision so I'm not a big drinker but You're right I think if your personality changes and if the person with you doesn't like that personality that's probably now when I was when I was is going to..

"Who was my boyfriend at the time? And they said and he's not in the business and I said Oh my I'm walking to the producers office anything and being killed off the show and he's like maybe they're giving rays which really broke my heart because there was like no they don't call it that way. Julie Amazon's you're making more dexterous. Don't have now way you gotta fight for for the raise. And then he said the same thing and he said just get in and out as fast as you can and get home and I'll meet you at home so I tried to get in and out as fast as Zykov like I walked in the room and I said you know I know what this is about people. It was Three the three executive producers no one woman. Yeah Yeah and I said thank you so much for great for years. I've appreciated every did before this is. I'm smart enough to know what's going on. So thank you for great for years. Let's Talk Tomorrow Immune. 'cause I'm feeling the panic attack. They wanted to you know to to have a conversation and so then I had to sit down and you know it's really. Let me release that this days because to make matters worse I worked Ah Jim Right by the studio and so I was. I had worked out that morning and it was really hot lake hotline today hot so I was only in a sports bra and a pair of like leggings and and I went to do a Leonardo Aiyar that way so all I could think about was what was that movie where the guy gets broken up with while he's naked. Is it forgetting forgetting Sarah. Sarah Marshall Forgetting Sarah Marshall. That's all I could think about was like I don't have a shirt on and then losing my job and I'm like sitting there trying to I felt so so vulnerable but they wanted to discuss it. They wanted to tell me the reasons. Why and and and I you know they needed to do that for their own Their own clarity. I guess their own therapy and everybody was upset about it but I did. I didn't want to hug argue. They did but I was sweating. Smother glows on. Basically I was I was really upset. You love the show. I loved it. Oh so it was such a great family and then here you are being told like okay. We're still GONNA get together as a family but like you're on your own so so it was really hard to recover from that. It took a while it took awhile I I remember I did. I did for no should have he. I should've I remember. I met Elizabeth Mitchell right. After I was doing I gotta during some little Indie film and I was working with her and the episode had an aired yet. So nobody really knew and I was talking to run set one day and they I told her about it and you know she had been killed off of lost and it was a very similar situation. Where like they? He didn't tell you you didn't tell the actor until the last minute Intel or two last minute or whatever and I was like you know they want me to do press for the show and do interviews reviews after it airs like how do I handle that. And she's like just be honest. which is what I did was like? Yeah I killed off the show. It sucked for me like I was upset. You know and that's just the only way I know how to deal with that so it was hard and my therapist was really great because you know when they went to see him and I was crying and I was like everybody knows I felt like I got fired. That's what it feels like. You get fired. He said to me is like listen. When I'm watching a really great show and an character gets killed off? I'm not thinking. Oh my God that actor just got fired I'm thinking well this is great storytelling and we'll look at look. Game of thrones At Ned Stark's are if you haven't seen gaming talking but you're watching it and you're like he's The lady. Yeah what are you doing wing. And then it's like everybody just started like. Hey No job is safe now and walking dead the same way in Hollywood. After game of thrones faulk how many seasons you doing. I don't know I I've I know some of the walking dead cast and they told me it's the same way they're like you just don't know when your time's up we also don't know what seasons which Kinda run. I enjoyed the show for about four seasons than I realized. Are they ending up at the same hospital at the end the prison. Let's Go August zone. I Love Them. I don't like jerks. I Love Them Dombi Person. I'm vampire person I if it's good would I don't care like I just you know. There's certain Zombie movies that just hold up like the dawn of the dead. I like the old one gun one and he knows that the return of the living dead is hilarious and fun and dark and I just love that. I'm a big horror movie nut so all those night of the living dead all the original ones. They were all shot in Pittsburgh for Greg up So that was a doctor. He last doctor now retired. He retired daughter jury. He was a general vascular surgeon and what general and vascular surgeon in vascular handbasket and vascular. So like your heart. Baynes Baynes Vascular Vans Yup Nam Damn so you so you were rich. Yes I mean if you're rich usually in the eighties eighties. He's Hewlett in a big house. Yes right yes I I remember. In the fifth grade. We moved into a new house. We moved from one side of town so the other side in so it was a different school district and and I remember I was in the fifth grade and some of the girls came up to me. And they're like you paid three hundred for your house and I was like three hundred dollars. Yeah and then. They went home to my parents and they're like the everybody's schools talking about how he paid three hundred for our house. Now is the most expensive house in the neighborhood MC three hundred dollars colors doesn't seem like that much money. Her Mom's like three hundred thousand. I know it's funny as remember kid and until I was about eight we were living like in duplexes and things in Connecticut and your dad was a hippie. He was like you now. He had one pair of jeans. He had like a Pinto. He busted his ass. We moved to Indiana and we moved in this big house in the corner and everybody thought like we. Oh my God. That's the biggest house on the block and in the end and yeah and then I found out that my dad had a really good deal on the house because there was what's called mine subsidence and so the House is kind of shifting and it was under these mines with the stripper whatever that strict and so yeah the houses were kind of Nice. But they're kind of shifting and you gotTA deal. I live by these rednecks lover. Mo- some of my best friends in the World Shepherds Ronnie Ronnie. Bobby Bobby Nate Candy. Heidi Crystal Bob and Terry Lee called Bob ally. Because he was an alcoholic had not my life beers. I had a few. You better stay away from those you know yeah. We weren't rich but I you know I think if you have a bigger house or was it tough but like having money. How.

"This deal wrote that you will never be an actress and that your voice is awful. Yes I mean. That's pretty rude. It was it was one of those pre college summer programs are at it was at Carnegie Mellon University. Yeah and it was like where you go to experience what what like a theater programs going to be like if you were to then apply to college to go to theater and studied theater and to study acting and So it was intense like summer program and I had this one teacher. I nine new. She didn't like me. I don't remember her name. I remember what what she looked like she was. She was probably in her like early Thirties Brunette and she just did not like me from day. One now granted I had a bit of a Pittsburgh accent and and you know and I had this like breathy voice and she just. Every time I talked just would like rip me to shreds and on the evaluation at the end so by going to the college program the Pre College program they would accept chew to three students from that program program. Give him early admissions to Carnegie Mellon to study acting and it's all coincided where there was a movie being filmed in the city of Pittsburgh at that time and they they were looking for some young actors and the program recommended. Gabriel Macht from suits on suits He was in the program and so they recommended him to audition and they recommended some of the other actors and they didn't recommend me but I didn't know about that. All I knew is my modeling agency. Called him was like we have this audition for you and so I went to the addition and I got the role it was only five lines opposite Harvey Keitel and turned into this bigger deal that I got it when I wasn't wasn't recommended by Carnegie Mellon instill that was going on while all while the summer program was going on so I think you know as the jealousy or like we'll just because you got cast in this movie. Don't think you're GONNA be that. You said that that kind of drove you to prove that teacher wrong that you know. They didn't accept me they said I don't have a good had voice. I won't be an actress. Fuck you was all about proving yourself or was it. Did you really like it. I just think I knew that I was going to be an actor. What makes did you think you know? I think I'm going to be an actor. I gotta be more to then. I think I'm going to be an actor because it's fucking brutal just I grew up performing what I loved about. Ice Ice. Skating was the performance aspect instant gratification. Where people instantly was the word a club like that right eight and all like that yes? Everyone likes that and it's nothing worse than when you fall on the ice and no one clubs but oh yeah but I love the performance aspect of the sport. I didn't necessarily like the sport itself like the technical elements elements in the jumps in all that stuff that you had to do but the actual like the skating in between the jumps. I really liked that performance comments aspect picking music every year and I would come up with a character in my head of who I was. You know why I picked this music and what I wanted to portray and so it. It was kind of like acting on the ice so when I got the rejection that rejection from the teacher first of I dealt with enough rejection in the ice skating in world it was just like okay. That's your opinion but I'm gonNA still do this like I looking back on it now. 'cause I was sixteen at the time Emmy for any adult to tell it a sixteen year old not to pursue your dream or you're not good enough to do this so it's not helpful at all not helpful. It's very damage of billeting. Yeah it's the same feeling as you know getting called dumb or just not getting any kind of no attention like not even being commended for doing something right. So you can't really differentiate what's good and what's bad it's like well I'm dumb and when I do something good do it. I don't even know if it's good because no one says anything. No one's proud of me and no one's going through the squirrel goes. I don't even know my self worth of course talking. You're kind of going you call down. Oh Yeah Oh yeah I still get called them some joke about I. I'm able to I did this thing called. Em Dr Rapid Eye Movement. It's it's actually proven if you look up look it up if you have any kind of Trauma in your life whether it's childhood or PTSD it's really about PTSD and it doesn't. I mean I always thought you have to be a veteran. May someone who went to war and saw those that are real men those how could they. That's trauma and would I have was insignificant. And why should I but then when you start to realize that your problems are your fucking problems. I don't care what they are if you experience them whether it was traumatic as a rape or in your mind as small as something like Yeah I got called dumb. It seems like I shouldn't complain because that's way worse. Yes I would doubt myself for everything And then I saw talking to the psychologist and we just start talking and she says something about growing up and I just told her a story and not gonNA say the story but I remember saying I just froze and and I was being yelled at and told I was not you know stupid. And how could I not understand this. And Somehow somehow she saw that in my eyes I wasn't being dramatic. I was just telling a story but she saw something in my eyes and she stopped me and said I think thank you ready to do this. Do you WanNa do this. AMD are and I go. What no I don't think so? He shouldn't do it. I'll fail. I'm thinking about failing in psych like in Europe. That's how bad we go to this. Amdi issue comes up to me and she goes. I am going to. You're going to close your eyes and you're gonna stay in that moment. You stay in that moment that you you just told me about. I don't think too much too and when you open your eyes when you're ready I want you to follow my finger in front of you. Not your head just your eyes. You just keep doing it. You think intensely at that moment and Stan that moment Mike. I'M GONNA fail. Oh this all I could think of his own a fail. This is not going to do well. I just I'M GONNA I'm GonNa let her down. I can't do this. I can't do this and I just stayed there and I stayed there and opened my is and it was the ugliest cry in history. It was like snot central. It was like she was like Schindler's. Correct was the end of Schindler's list when he's like cooking save ten more people with this launch. It was like Oh my God. I'm just bawling and I'm so in this moment and I had no idea what I get goosebumps now. What affect things in the past? Have this moment. Had A profound found. It was disturbing moment of my life. That sort of Domino D- The rest of my life. That moment of affiliate competent of feeling dumb. A feeling not good enough it translates in everything you do well in everything. You do So what happened was. I don't even know what we were doing a okay. Let's do let's do it again. Okay what do you think you now. And I'm not kidding. You I said to her I I. I don't think it's working anymore. I don't I I can't talk to me I'm thinking of that moment and I can't. I can't cry. I can't I can't i. It's like I. We know it's there. I could hear the voice I could but it's I duNno. It's not affecting me. And she smiled that she has okay. We're done and I go. What she has has? That was one of the best experiences I've had with us. If not the best offer go watch it was. That's exactly what I wanted you to say. I was in the moment I was just trying to be real and not thinking about what she wants. I guess in a way. It's Sorta like acting as stop worrying about what the cameraman. Thanks and everybody's thinking and that you could just just zone in and be real. That's all and that moment of clarity. That moment of being real like I said it's a domino effect of all those other traumatic things little things. She explained it as a big tree falling in the woods and the forest and it knocks down little trees so maybe that moment it knocked down another one where near an art class and you didn't realize you're colorblind. You're getting called dumb. And how are you getting an in our class and so so all these things. I don't even know why we started talking fascinating it it works so I think you know I. I guess what I'm trying to say is. How pretty far deep into that did that moment? was that moment of her telling you these things or was there moments like that. Were that were traumatic where you look back. And you're like this is what pushed me to be great to work because they look at your current and this is where I was going and I go. This woman keeps fucking plugging taking away. She does Dexter which is the biggest one of the biggest parts in your life. Right you'd show great performance sexy smart everything dark everything in actress I would want and then you're on buffy and you're on this buffy before buffy was before but you got demoted on a roll you're supposed to be this and they demoted self-esteem all over the place up and down and so I'm trying to think of like you keep plugging away in. Is that voice still in your head is are those kind of voices where it's like. I got to keep proving myself or do you really know your good do no. It's not I really love it you do. I learned a long time. I like a long time ago probably ten years ago. I just had to accept what it meant to be an actor in order to love the good of of our jobs when it's good and all the goodness that goes with it you also we'll have to accept the bad parts that go with it. You accept the bad parts you have to you. Can't you can't just have the good without the bad. What's the worst thing that happened? You in an actress the worst thing I I mean. Jj Rejection or whatever. I mean I mean getting killed off deck service pretty bad I had no idea I had no idea that was coming one. Do they tell you three days as before called you. They called me in on my day off to do some agr. And then they called me to the Producers Room and I knew walking from the Aiyar stage to the Producers Room when you get called all DU producers. You're being killed off the show. I mean it's just you. Yeah I suffer from panic attacks and I started having a panic attack and I called my manager at the time and and I said Oh my God I think they're killing me off and this is what he said he's like all right kid. Okay because he knows I suffer from panic attacks and he's just getting house fast as you can just say thank you and get out and there was like okay and then I called my husband..

"There's quite amazing like you go. Oh my God he's he's. He's cuter than I almost look like Shit my pictures where they happen to say yes and then go out with me like I thought this guy was a four six right down his personality. I don't know I got lost the map but anyway you don't have to deal with that 'cause you're married. Yeah and I've never done the online dating stuff I mean. I got divorced in my mid thirties and and I wanted to start dating and I didn't know how 'cause I've been with my first husband since I was like twenty two you together from like what ninety five five or something nine. Yes something like that. I mean I call. I just graduated college in Ninety Five. I met him when I moved out here to. La and we met acting class class started dating and then got married. We were together for a very long time and then got divorced and at thirty five found myself like in back in the dating world and didn't even know Lake AAC how to do it so terrifying thirty five year old divorcee. Yeah totally you know. Part of it too was. I had to accept that I might be walking away from my fertility ability at that age. Because when you get divorced in your mid thirties as a woman there's that possibility where you might not end up having kids And so I had to go to therapy about that but then did you hate when people are always two hundred kids. Do you still have kids. Women hate that. Yeah don't ask a woman would you want to have children. Yeah it's Why not why don't why don't you ask that question? It's personal personal and you don't always know what the other person's since going through now. I ended up struggling with infertility for years and went through numerous rounds of IVF with my current husband and found out we weren't able to have children in vitro or found out we weren't able to have kids and still people apple. Because I do look younger we'd go out to dinner parties and people would be like well when you're GonNa have kids and I'd be like I literally just got to the point where I'd be like I can't I can't have children and my husband would do you have to direct. I'm like well I just want the conversation to sort of like when people are saying what are you up to these days like how about nothing. Nothing Mr always say. Well I got this movie coming out that you won't see because it's an indie real any and then I got this other thing that I dish in for waiting for the answer for that one and I've got always name these things because you've made yourself feel better than you felt and so now I'm just like I don't know podcast man I love it. I don't give a shit. What moves you doing? Nothing right now. I two lines in this one thing. That marvel movie was it. I'll give you. This is it. This is me because it doesn't doesn't really matter it doesn't matter you know you start to think about stuff and you're like what what's really important by the way you go anywhere outside of Los Angeles and no one even really ask do that like the all they want. You know what I mean like. They just care about the work you've done you know. Let's SORTA chair not really going like what are you doing now. Or why aren't you working or what's going. They're just kind of like. Wow you did this and you did that and by the way. That's what you should feel as as an actor as a artists as whatever you're a doctor. I don't care what you do. You're always thinking about being relevant being the next to whatever there is such a small percentage of people that are have that Leonardo DiCaprio fame and all that stuff. But if you go say hey what'd you do. Well I've done a shit ton of TV shows. Run Dexter when visit enough. Yeah exactly you know people say oh you were on Smallville. Yeah yeah that was it. You weren't yeah. The very many people get the opportunity to be on a series seven. Was it seven years eight years for seventy seven years. Yeah but never had that opportunity to be on the show for so you are engaged attached for just a year for four years four years. Wait a minute years Diana did he says why remove all the bathtubs out out of every home. I live in wait a minute. You don't have that now. You don't have one bathtub now to showers. Why because really because of Dextra? You've just kidding. I don't know I don't like bathtubs. I like Jacuzzis. I have a Jacuzzi outside nine. A funny word either. The maybe that should be the question you ask on your dates. Are you bather shower. I like I like Jacuzzis too. Yeah I like to shower. My thing is to go for a quick swim. I'm talking five minutes Swim Jacuzzi. Five ten minutes shower. I feel good. Yeah I have a pool and I don't know how to swim but I look good in the pool reading a book. That's what I do. You don't know how to swim for forty seven years old you can't it dumped you in the ocean no I'm scrappy. I can doggy paddle. I just can't go under the water. I get very claustrophobic. I've gone to numerous swim glasses. I've had the teachers. I just can't figure out how to breathe underwater Siglo first of all underwater. So I'd panic. We were GONNA. I was kind of film at one time for Instagram. My husband trying to teach me to swim and And he's like notes so embarrassing embarrassed. He's like you feel like you're just like something's wrong with literally dying as soon as my head goes under God they come up and I'm like I can't breathe and he's like could she just just come up a little more calm. Don't act like it's the end of the world and calming. He's very he's the comp so he you guys the opposites are you kind of like do you get sort of emotional. And and he has to sort of like. It's okay Julie. It's alright yes definitely I mean it used to be. I think we used to be really different in the beginning ginning Whereas I was way more motion all and he was way calm and now we're kind of like meeting in the middle where well I think? Maybe I changed a lot and realize that like you can't let your emotions run your day look raw growing but using their stages in your life where you're like. Oh I just want to get approval. Approval I just want self esteem just want. I want my peers to love me. I want everybody to love me. Why can't they just love me? Why can't I be you ever get overwhelmed like that? Where you're like you lose sight of things and there's a moment of your life where you just kind of with the fucker you doing? None of this is important. Is You ever through that. Maybe I mean I think for me I always always always just worked as an actor and I was a young I was ice skater. Growing up it was always performing in getting praised for performance. So then when you do hit a lull and you're not working that's like the hardest thing in Lake Lake and when you're not equipped for that so Learning how to go like wait a second. That doesn't define me what defines me as my relationships to other the people how I you know take care of my home how I take care of my husband and my friends and my family and my loved ones. That's what's important. Yeah but Wendy figure that stuff out like Wendy you like you you you you talk about how important it is to be a good A wife and a good friend in a good daughter or whatever it it just it just seems like you have to. Maybe never. Maybe you've got so much love and You know your parents were there for you and proud of you and maybe maybe you weren't affected by that because when you said the ice skating thing when you sort of hit you hit a lull if you have self worth and you know you're like hey I'm good and my parents loved me and they're proud and for me. I felt like I have to be perfect at everything. Even though that's impossible in my mind I have to work myself to death. You know it was just never enough. Yeah I mean I had a weird family dynamic in that growing up my brother and Sister Regina National Ice Dance Champions and I was the youngest so I was always like the tag along kid at the rink and even though I skated and had my own accomplishments in the ice skating world I couldn't. I never was the champions that they were and I was always reminded did of that by my brother and sister. They always told me you know we're champions. You're not worried about your parent on our life revolved around my brothers. Insist career as ice skaters so I just always had to just do whatever they were doing. but ironically I got injured at at thirteen. And that's when I started acting and it was great because all of a sudden I had my own lane and so there was no longer this comparison and so then I was able to find my own footing in my own individualism. And my just my own way. You have to differentiate yourself from the rest of the family. It wasn't GonNa work you being a skater in order to get the attention you need it. You weren't going to get the fulfillment that now because they were so good. And I was good but I wasn't so good I'm not probably hurt. Look why I can't be that good. Yeah I mean it was. It was tough but at the same time to I was kind of an outsider looking in and saying we were all under a lot of pressure but they were under even more pressure having to deal with a lot of pressure and a young age you know being on that track of you know the the goal was to go the Olympics for them and everything was about that and there was a lot of pressure for especially my sister watching as an outsider. Seeing what she was going through I was I was kind of happy. Be that I was kind of the forgotten child in the family. It was okay like I. I have a little more freedom. I have a little more you you know and especially once I retired from the sport then I basically was just able to do whatever I wanted and found success in that like so you know through acting and performing in that aspect and not being compared inside of you is brought to you by uncommon apothecary. The carry I love these guys. I've talked about him forever. I tell my physical therapists that this is what they should use. I love this I get relief from it period and I I know you will to. CBD's from the Ham Plant. And unlike. Its sister Mary Jane. CBS contains less than point three percent. THC meaning you're not you'RE NOT.

I'd wear that dress every day. So you have great breasts. I guess I'm not saying I'm saying you must have great breast. If she said that like women don't look at other women's breasts and say say something like that unless they really mean it it was. It was an amazing dress. I can tell you're proud. To I was Andy Mcdowell I mean did you go home until your husband when I did. He'd Heart Andie macdowell groundhog's Day wedding funeral. How many were four weddings and she told me? And Beverly Hills he does all the fancy people and She does a little laser treatment. She's a couple of my things. I I gotta go back. Yeah I I developed allows Ma in my thirties. which is like Malaysia Malaysia? You get. It's sometimes referred to as pregnancy mask. But you don't have to be pregnant to have it It's from birth control to and being in the sun and it causes like a dark patch on my forehead. That people would always come up to be like. Oh you have dirt on your head. The WHO's like no don't touch it so I had to go and get lizard. My assistant actually talks about that. She has something that she doesn't like. I don't notice it but she's I had this like maybe that's Malaysia Malaysia. Asthma might be. I called nine Russia. Because I like Gorbachev thing but you know here's the thing people thinking rose rose memorial getting laser treatment went. Here's that when you're in it's just good for your skin to get these dead skin cells off you first off. That's first and foremost should dermatologists going to say WHATSAPP that off. Yeah because it can become skin cancer right yeah well. Asthma can't now what laser treatments do it can also promote Collagen. So it just can help you maintain a youthful appearance. Are you wearing makeup today. I do have makeup on. You just like code isn't it. Yeah because it really. I'm surprised by the suppleness the softness and the glow of your skin. Did you get a facial now. I don't I don't really get facials. I do laser treatments not laser treatments a year and will now probably the only like four. But that's not very much now but back when I was trying to get rid of my Malaysia was going like every six eight six eight weeks. It took a while for two years. The what I notice is also and I'm not judging but since we're talking about this you don't look like your Bo- Talks Doubt Your Lips. Don't look like briefcase handles. I know so you look at your natural. We stay like this yes look women should care what is think but women should care but women think or what they think themselves if you look at it guys or girls. It's like the lips are too much. Tim Nights Somebody said they women or men they start looking like the same person when they do the lips and the tightening the skin and it stretches and everybody starts looking the same. Yeah there's there's this facial structure that's in right now where it's kind of like very rounded look That women are we're doing with fillers and Bo talks and I just I don't like that I like the I like I like aging. You know I mean I wanna work as an actor I therefore I have to look like a real person not labor and celebrity. I mean look at Meg Ryan Right. I mean she was like a dream not to say that everybody we all get older. They're like I don't look like I did. I don't I mean I'm not saying that. But she did the lips thing and it just was a WHOA. Whoa what happened? And is that fixed now. I don't know I don't know or does it die down. It depends on what was done. There was like back in. I would say like ten in fifteen years ago I remember. I met some woman who was telling me I need to go see this doctor who was doing like little drops a silicone in the lips and that was so illegal to do and she was like you need to go see him. He's amazing of course did not go see him. But that cannot be removed. The silicone stuff can't be a once you do the saw on that says yeah I think that's what Priscilla Presley did so her personal her lips are just are what they are. Yeah that's it you can grab them with your hand. Dan thinks maybe cut it out. I don't I don't really I don't really know I think for me I I love you've you know being an actor so much and you don't want your There's so many like noninvasive treatments that you can do for your skin like laser treatments and Migra needling and all of that that that's enough for me. Yeah it's tough for me because I'm still dating and I don't even know I mean. Look I'm improving. I'm I'm working on myself like you wouldn't believe the changes are making I talk about this by meditate. I'm I'm I'm hiking and I'm playing tennis. I think it's it's the via the the Add Medication. Taking now. That I can focus and I have a little more energy. I really WANNA be relationship. I swear to God I. There's nothing more I want to do than to wake up with someone to do something and just try and just trust someone sedating a bitch. "Who Do we know? And I'm like guys you don't we don't have to do. In fact Harris. I'm aware that people want to date me sometimes. It's flattering but like it happened last year and I got a a I mean he felt very nice. It was fourth of July and two of my friends. That are a couple. Put me on a group tax with each other and said Dave we're here to barbecue. Full will disclose your. I'm a little tipsy or with our friend and she was just signing on how she really wants to meet a great guy and we were like you know what we know a great guy and so oh this is horrible. I was like nightmare fairly often. You get it's like no one wants to see someone single they're like. ooh We got to fix this. I went on this this fourth of July. We're both tipsy. Who Do we know who's single cut update and it was perfectly fine but I found myself psyching myself up to ask her out again? We went to a bar. We talked I was. I thought this person's person's nice and kind of cute. I don't know how excited I am about them. We didn't have walking all the way home. I walked her home and then she went for it with with the SMOOCH. Okay that's cool. Then I deliberated all weekend going I should I ask her out again. I don't really know but you know she. She was pretty eighty four word and we did have a nice conversation. I said to Sunday night if we went out Friday night I said Hey. Would you like to guard against. She Goes Hey I'm just kind of feeling of friendship. VIBE curveball wow but you know you want to go at the end of the night and then then she felt there was even talk of her her. Her sister was staying with her watching her dog and she said Oh. I just kind of text. The my sister is she basically went from inviting me up to going. Oh I can see her in the window like she's in the living room rare she's going to be gone by now. Anyway go for the. I think it's just I think the energy is just weird. When it's it's when you're hanging out because tutoring mutual friends are like your unattached your unattached? You meet each other. I've got a couple of those things happen. We're all just after that one. I've just said No. Thanks yes we. It's funny because my parents are up in the bay area and my mom is constantly being like I have a client who has a daughter and I'm Mike Mom that person doesn't live here she goes. You could just email with each other like mom. I'm an adult. It's two thousand nine hundred. I'm not going to like email with a woman and then be like. Hey want to move to Los Angeles easy. And then she'll be like I'm like when did this come up. She's like oh I was talking to my client and then I told them they. They talked about their daughter. I told them about you and I was like let me ask you a question like did you tell them what I do for a living. And then they brought up their daughter and she's every single time. Yes yeah clarify. Tell them you're a movie director. I'm like well first of all. That's a lie. I've never done a movie. You can't say that well three three TV episodes in a row. That's a movie that is true but you know it's almost it is almost. TV's kind of movies now. Comedy movies are dead. She was even like suggesting people when I was in that last relationship and that would make me upset. I was really bummed. I was like you can't do that. That's not like I'm in a relationship. I don't WanNa meet anybody. And she goes just email them like that to me is cheating. Even if I how and like roller Tori email while you're emailing one another person to email you never have to email people again. I'm on my mom. Did this to me semi recently. My mom bless her heart. I will say I think possibly Sibley if I'm not telling my parents who I'm dating they. Maybe you soon. I'm alone but I've just learned because they met a couple of my ex's and maybe I don't maybe I don't tell held them every single person but my mom a couple of months ago because you know when you're a perfect like a professional out here you'll occasionally. It happened more when I first moved down here. But you'll get like You'll get. Hey My my My Co workers friends kid is going to move to Los Angeles and is interested in comedy. And can I match you guys Maybe you could get a coffee. But I've got a couple of those semi recently. My Mom said something to me about that of Love Hey. My friends. Whatever's co-workers daughter is moving from New York to Los Angeles? Works in the Business Blah Blah Blah. Maybe I could set you guys up and you could get a coffee and I was like Oh mom. It sounds like she's already working in the industry. I don't know what I could possibly impart to her and she said. Oh that's not what I meant I I I thought I mean I don't know I know you're not so hot on being set up and I just said like oh no I'm good. It is what I wanted to say. It was like no. I'm good I I get myself in all sorts of trouble on my worry about me Arlen. I'm making making a fake girlfriend to just have them back off. And then I then I thought well then what do I do if I meet someone. And then they're going to be like well. What happened into an accident in mammoth? He had a bad accident for ten. Something something happened then. I'm morning and I'm like mom. I can't meet anybody right now. I'm more morning Lindsay. Lindsay can't walk. Lindsey God Lindsey caller my sweet bunny. Bunny Lindsey Hey. They love us. They want us to know they mean. Well I get it. He wants to be happy. It's also a different time. The when they got together people are remaining unattached remaining on Italian longer. Not Electing not to have kids because as someone I love and respect backed recently said why would I have kids and bring them into this terrible world. It's ending soon. Yeah I do want kids though you deal. You're sure on it. I definitely how many to to to get more than two. Seems like what are you. What are you what are you doing alone all day and they have someone to play with? Yeah I always leave him alone all day. Yeah and you're GONNA be raising themselves. They'll be making Gregor Gregor sandwiches in the oven. You know what's going to happen. What happens? Patrono fiercely independent and podcasters cinema podcasters with multiple dogs E. Can't imagine a better case scenario raising a daughter and then she becomes like Stevie. Oh Oh my that thing that ends up like Dave and then they come up with a sequel of this part on my guy had a cook everything trying to get rich rich off my child sure. No podcasting across the board is extremely lucrative. Oh Yeah Oh my God yeah you get an ad or two on here and in twelve to fifteen years. We'll be making enough money to pay for groceries. I still wear my Mac Weldon shorts when I go hiking. Can you hear this morning. That was nice. When we got Mac Weldon Gear sweatsuits angle suit and sweatsuit? What a Nice company they just? That's great yeah. It was nice awesome. Anyway I won't say it was a long time ago but much like like some of my relationships I look back on. Finally I take you back in a heartbeat Mac. Hell yeah comeback to ask uh-huh okay so setups where lukewarm on setups. Yeah you're not on any APPS. How are you meeting people this organically like what a dream people in my life like sounds like instagram to me? No it's a woman I'm talking to right now like I've known for years just casually like we work together. Many years reconnected than slowly. was like kind of like you know my God. I love this but it's again it's so early that's fine. That's how it goes though you get certain age and it's just like if you're a good if you're a thought of as a good nice person the good nice people in your life stick around and remember you and also so for me. I I almost every almost every relationship I've had. We were friends. I I get to know people we bond and then it goes there. Because I'm I don't so I've walked up to a woman I don't know and asked her out. I've never and I also don't drink so that throws out a whole huge like like dating. Have you not real. I mean I you know I maybe had drinker so here and there but I've just never taken to it. I've never liked it so I'm name right and I said part of your dating life or or any part of my life like I've just never liked it so like going to a bar even in work when someone's go meet for a bar and get a drink and I'm like what do you think about getting a coffee because I. It's also not a fun environment if you're not. Drinking bars are the worst possible environment to it's it's bad and I don't get like so loud. Yeah bars are too loud. I think if you're not drinking your just screaming over people and I don't really understand out go to BARF. It was like a quiet bar. Yeah no alcohol. I've been to you know you're talking about a librarian alcohol own books you can loan out movies whisper. No one should talk. That sounds like a really fun bar or it's either that or I'm talking about like Hot Yoga Mike. How do you not talk Okay so that does eliminate eliminates a lot. I mean I've even you know years ago I I I. I don't even know when this was on tinder. It was awful and I went on several dates with the a couple of women. We went on a few more dates and progress a little bit but there was one specifically and she loved Drinking like loving and I should have heard the first red flag issue before the first date she was like. Oh I've been trying to drink less so I'm not going to have one on the date I was like. Oh What an interesting thing to just Gab. All in tier and then she did. She had several drinks on the first date and then and then we had fun. John we were. We dated for almost like two months times. You know things were happening and then she literally was like I need someone I can get smash Schwer verbatim and and this was a grown woman and and I need someone I can get smashed with. Yeah and I got it. That's not me. Wow that's never gonna be out well good to know that's great. But then she was like I'd love to continue a physical thing and I was like this seems weird. So why don't we. Why don't I get back to you? Never talk to her again. Get back to you by leading your number. I was just so thrown off off by it because the first thing that tapped into his. I'm not cool. That's the first thing I is. Oh she thinks I'm not cool and then I thought no man drinking isn't cool right. Yeah that's probably an insecurity thing where she enjoys drinking and then was questioning her own issues with someone who didn't and honestly it's okay to get drunk to WANNA get drunk. I think you can throw yourself in a tailspin. If you're you're with someone who drink and you didn't you thought maybe I'm not cool. She's probably thinking the same thing about herself. Yeah yeah she was either way bad fit. Because I think it's a lifestyle fit at that point for me it's not about drinking or not drinking is drinking doesn't doesn't fit into my lifestyle and like I think I have like a drink a year. Maybe or something you know like get a drink and be like ooh. Maybe I'LL SIP this. You know like it's like this idea Just one idea but like it doesn't fit in my lifestyle so if someone's like we wanna go to a Bar Mike if I don't I'm the same. I don't WanNa do that. Yeah it doesn't appeal to me in any way shape or form. No I drink and and getting older has only shown light on how bad I was at before. Were you know I wish I could just newsflash my former self and go. You can drink as much or as little as you want and nobody can stop you right. Only only you can stop yourself from having one drink at a bar and four waters or no drinks or three drinks or you're feeling crazy and have a couple more like I always just. Yeah my my previous self was bad at drinking to the point of yeah had a lot of bad times in college. I didn't know how no one teach your. I don't like the taste I wanna I WANNA get drunk. Yeah so like a sport in this country yes not like a friend of mine was telling me that recently he was just like in Europe. They drink but here. It's like all the drinking games we have. That's not a thing in other countries so here just get drunk. Yeah drinking yeah. There was just like fourteen year olds having a glass of wine in France. And it's like nothing more. It's like a party. It's infused in their lifestyle and your. It's like football. It's like it's totally what it is. Yeah it's like this weird it just it doesn't I mean. Even the the the girl I was dating she liked to drink. It wasn't like a lot but she liked to drink and it was weird. She was constantly trying to get me to drink and I didn't want to and be like we try. I tried I was like look. I don't want you to feel weird if we go to a wine bar and I don't have any things I'm GonNa try it. nope I hate this. It's terrible can't pretend like it. Try to get myself to like wine. I for years I would go and line and like drink. A little bit gives me headaches. Yeah it makes my nose stuffy instantly. I'm like this stuff is his poison. Bad why do I like the idea of it. But honestly there's There's a bar in like echo park. That serves Kombucha. And that is my favorite bar like like 'cause you can have something but it doesn't have to be you know what I mean..

"I went and spitting blood into an empty lacroix and sucrose is the most irving story so I walk in to to the emergency room. Which I didn't know never in my life that I think I would be there in the Er with a tongue eating sandwich at a diner? And so I signed in and as soon as I sign in and sit down it stops bleeding like like Michigan j frog boy who cried wolf. Whatever it's it's over over the always happen and saying I've lost a lot of blood and here? Maybe I should see a doctor. Doctor is this looks like a surfer. He's like a tall handsome dude. Longhair clearly younger than me. I'm sitting there like my tongue is what happened. I tell him and he's he's like we'll stick out your tongue and I did not bleeding. I look like a psycho. It was like my tongue was split in the middle when I stuck my tongue trying not to show him. It was already getting better because I like lizards and he goes young man. I Dunno you're fine a- and I said is there any SP- special food I should eat or avoid and he just looked at me like you're the most pathetic person person I've ever seen in went. I don't know you could like eat a popsicle. I guess what this guy's not qualifies not at all he. It was correct. There was nothing to do. The job was done you went to the Er for a popsicle. Yeah wow he didn't even give it to me. I know oh you got it yourself. How many thousands of dollars insurance covered it? My Co pay one hundred bucks or whatever. Okay not bad evil. I can't believe either of you still willing to eat sandwiches or you're willing to cook after those incidents I'd be like that's enough for me to never do it again. Slice my knuckle twice in the last. Three months grading cucumber sliced cucumber. I Hate I'll never stop never never stopped slicing cucumbers. I will stop up slicing my finger. There's they have gloves for. When you're cutting stuff that protect you you guys? Just let them know I. Now I discovered after because I was like I literally when I got home I threw away the slicer smart I was like I'm getting a automatic one reaches dropped Martin and then I saw these gloves and I'm like oh I'm just going to wear. Are these gloves so now I wear gloves when I got is so smart. You refuse alert lesson okay. Okay I am GonNa not learn. I'M GONNA learn from both your lessons and get the gloves before. Even start talking to I also sat out with intention of learning a new recipe every month. But I only did it for like the first four months of the year. You can do it again anytime. I forgot I drop off the map. You do a lot of things so that's okay. Yeah I guess also like cooking for me. It's like cooking. I like baking so I like was trying to bake AAC new things. I'm Mike Maybe the last thing I need to do is bake a loaf of something for myself. I mean I guess I could deliver it to people's houses I go to your houses black guy I made a loaf of something your whole you can do a whole thing. That could be your whole thing you can be like. I'm a loaf deliverer. Yeah as bad L.. So little cartoon image of yourself we'll sticker to put on the bread. Oh man with the baked goods love local trod dark dark. Turn on their no. Not you're never going to be there so don't you wait. What did you grow up eating? I was into like I was just a junk food really really junk food eating kid. What was your favorite junk? Food Doritos. Probably what flavor is the most important question I could ask you when I was a kid. It was jumping Jack what it was like the Jack Cheese one. Wow I didn't know any ranch. Everybody has branches go jumping. Jack was the how was remember that I don't need that. It came back for a bit like a couple years ago and not not as as far as food science goes because I was going to say it's I think things like hostess doesn't hold up as much as an adult. Now if you were if you indulge August. Someone's having like. Oh there's a party with stone her foods and you eat a twinkie. It's lost its luster. A DORITO is the same when you're six as it is when you're thirty six. Yeah they do hold up the Doritos hold up and and it's still really nice when people have them at parties. I think it's like oh I can just have like a couple because if you get a bag agam you're like well. I have to finish the back. I can't not have the bad be wrong to waste this bag. Yeah it'd be keep junking your houses and adult I have have my where I live is always referred to as the house of snacks. ooh I'm a big snacker verse to Your House as Lots of staff as I have like like a mountain of the kitchen we. This is an incredible. This is this is huge for us is you. The King of the House of snacks is here. I did not realize we did not know but but the snacks as I've gotten older or not like to read it's not like that it's like checks mix. It's like goldfish cracker. It's like I'll have pretzels all the time. I'll have tortilla chips because I'm always ready for if someone comes over. I WANNA put out stuff stuff. Yeah the Persian and that's nice like I have to take care of my guess. Yeah but I always have little snacks around. Do you need to. Are you a snack doc. Eater is being a snack. Provide you eat them. Yeah I snack a lot me too. I love snack. I love us now. It's the best part it's part of the snacks the best part of the day. I've been leaning a little bit heavily into the boring snacks. The adult snap peas right. Walk INS unsalted. Cashews or big with me the stash Ios and you know what I'm saying when a boring voice I love them. Those are delays smashes ashes pistachios and snap. Peas are like two of my favorites. Yeah those are those are usually in my life all of snack pack. I used to have them with a dip. I can eat a snack. Snappy Ross straight up now it helps me. It is wages my guilt if I had something bad earlier in the day so if I come home and say oh it's ice cream time time then I lace up to go out to an ice cream store. I'll just put myself down in front of a mountainous nappies. It feel it sounds fake. It sounds like I've just trying to convince myself do this. It's been works. I love that. Yeah this makes me wish. I could eat all the gluten snacks. Does you can't gluten free snacks. Not that bad. They're not bad but the problem and I'm sure people who if anyone is gluten free and listen to this. The problem is you can't have any of the things that are nostalgic like I can't ever have a pop tart again. I can you know what I mean. I can't ever have like goldfish crackers like I can have knockoffs of at them. Yeah I can have a whole foods version of FIG new ends how are they honestly Gut fig new INS could beagle legal and free for everyone and it'd be great but other snacks are hard to mimic. What are we? Tell me about what I'm going to be getting myself into. If I'm going for gluten free pop start a whole foods style pop dark days or days not good. Oh what would that be like dry. I don't even know they have them. They have like a gluten free type of you know but they because pop tarts is like a brand name they call him like pastry toaster. Strudel there's no you know they call them something else. Something that we doesn't relate to us at all And they're not good they taste bad and the stuffed inside doesn't taste good. The stuff inside is what I'm all about right like Mike. GimMe that strawberry or that cinnamon raw Rau- or toasted. Oh Man. I used to burn mind to death. I Love Them. I Love I love the sides incredibly burnt like I was the same really oh the frosting burns a little and so good you can barely break it apart. That's that's the good stuff. What about you? You didn't even give option burnt and we both chose Burns. Yeah it because when you say burn I'm thinking a deep brown I'm talking like black edges sea legs blackened pop tarts. It's in black and pop in black. I'M A I'M A. I'm a Golden Brown guide. Oh Wow that's very middle of the road and all you know but here's the thing you work late somewhere. There's a vending machine. "Support for climate cast comes from Bank of America as one of the largest global financial institutions Bank of America is in a unique position to help society transition to a low-carbon economy, Bank of America, NA, member FDIC. Ben's going carbon neutral. I'm NPR chief meteorologist Paul hunter. This is climate cast German automaker Mercedes Benz is the latest to make the move toward a carbon neutral auto fleet. The automaker pledges to change factories and vehicles to go carbon neutral by twenty thirty nine but how does a high performance automaker shift to a climate friendly fleet in just twenty years, I asked transportation analyst Mickey Mainur the business incentive for Mercedes. Is that Europe obviously there German based company is far far ahead of the rest of the world in getting serious about climate change. And so all companies, no matter whether it's McDonald's or Mercedes are under pressure to become more compliant. Mickey it looks like a pretty aggressive plan by Mercedes Benz by twenty thirty the German manufacturer aims to have electric and hybrid models. Comprise, half or more of total car sales is that real? Mystic in your eyes, a lot can happen in ten years. I mean, if you think back ten years, tesla was just in its infancy, and I remember in Chicago, that a tesla dealer popped up around twenty ten or twenty eleven and just how unusual that seemed and now they're tesla dealers in all parts of the United States, Europe, Canada Asia show. Ten years sounds like a long time, but it's too product cycles in the auto industry. And while you don't see massive change in one product cycle, you can see significant change into product cycles. It looks like part of the strategy for Mercedes is to use renewable energy to power some of their manufacturing plants is that part of the goal to get them to that carbon neutral designation. Yes. It's a two-part strategy. So it's the vehicle strategy at what comes out of the manufacturing plants. And then it's also the way those manufacturing plants are deployed, I've been in most of Mercedes. Major operations in Germany, and in Alabama, and in the last couple of years, there's really been a focus on leaning. Everything down fewer people less electricity. Less packaging coming in with the parts. It's going to take a lot of work. A lot of effort for these factories in Europe to become more climate neutral or carbon-neutral, excuse me, because they're big, and some of them are old even though they've been refreshing. And so I think for me I'm a manufacturing geek and I find this just as interesting as the vehicle side of it. I mean, if they truly can transform those factories, it's going to say a lot to the rest of the auto industry, author journalist educator and transportation analysts Mickey Maynard, thanks for your perspective today. It's my pleasure. Thanks for having me. Eric berger. I live in the Dayton's bluff neighborhood has Saint Paul. I'm an architectural, CAD drafter by day and a former BMW master technician, actually got in Devi ownership because the fastest cars out there and the efficiencies, nice bonus might decision to get an V kind of started with my actually buying a gasoline, Fiat, five hundred when they came to the country in two thousand twelve and then it was actually gonna upgrade to the faster one, but then actually found that Fiat Chrysler mayday compliance vehicle in the state of California, the five hundred electric and it was actually faster than the gas one that I was going to upgrade to. So I decided why not just put electrical service and my hundred and ten year old houses garage, which it had never had before. So I had the ability to get a fast charger, I own a fleet of eleven or twelve gas cars to in the fact that I show up anywhere, really in a little electric Italian car. They're like, what doesn't make any sense? But once people drive it because I tossed the keys on this thing to anyone. I've singlehandedly had three of my friends go out and buy this. Exact vehicle and a lot of others of Baden, tesla model threes. One bottle leaf yet really opens people's eyes are like, wow. There really isn't a compromise here. If you have x y and z in your life, it's not a compromise. There's really never a time where I can't plan around the cars range. So the electric car why I got into mainly because it was the fastest available in that body. But then it turned into the more conventional decision which I want to be kind of environment. Now, I'm fully on board with the whole electric vehicle movement and then green stuff. That's fine at cast. I'm NPR chief meteorologist Paul hunter.

"Welcome to the golden plate club sweet fin polka. They do a good job. It's do it's a surfer. I I'm I'm shocked that you didn't bring up the surfer, dude. Yeah. I felt like it was looking to Amir. So we. Review sweeping Boca. It's time for us situation. I'd love to get murdered with physical. Just after eating a full meal. The new Agar. I do. Still enjoy him more. We've got the foods decide if it's worth putting your mouth. It's snack wack. Whack now payment we had something planned, but you throw us a curve ball and brought us some of some of your own treats. And we're going to dig into these. We got some Nick started hyperventilating. When you when you when you change stuff, I didn't know, I I'm terribly sorry. And now, but this is good. Here's what has very exciting. Here's why have to say about these streets there there. There's one brand that has two different flavors in it's insane to me. Yeah. But we can talk. You can talk us through all these right now. So I was at the Korea town plaza last night, which is like a Korean mall k town because I was eating there. And then I went to this. They have a little grocery store, and I was just getting stuff. And then I found these things just looked so interesting. So one of them is called corn Chee, and what it looks like a Cheetos puff with actual liquid cheese inside like it's filled with cheese. And then there's also or is or is it topped with. I'm confused by it. I'm on be like, I I don't know if it's topped or they're like showing you what's inside. I'm not sure what this could be either. Actually, you're right. Yours makes more sense mine. Like what I thought it was is so crazy I had to get it. In one of them. They are crazy. What's crazy is there's a picture of one of them that saying I want more like at once itself. Yeah. And then there's a hazelnut version of logger come on. There was one called corn show. That's a Hazel nut version, and then I tried to find a third one, but they only had two, and then this other thing called Bing Bing, and it's the way they describe it as it's a cone snack with strawberry flavored filling. So it's like this twisty looks like an ice cream cone, and then just this like pink substance. And I don't know what it is. I'm assuming it's just sugar that is. I mean, it's supposed to maybe look like ice cream. They had like green tea as well. But this seemed to be maybe the one that's tastiest. It just looks fascinating. It looks like an ice cream cone that you eat and most of the ice cream, and it just got a little nub remaining. Yeah. That's kind of where it is. Let's let's dig into these. Let's I think we'll start. We'll start with the the savory ones that will work away over to sweet town. We story about fan Bing, Bing, if it just reminds me of fan being the the Chinese like famous actor and she disappeared. The actress. Who disappeared because like she like sees a Chinese actress. And then she she like. She basically didn't report our taxes correctly, and they and they found out, and then she's like she disappeared for months, which is crazy. Do you know the story? It's very interesting crazy story, but being got another double. Cotton's too depressing noble, but. Being beings. Are they remind me of remember Harris had that like I I think it was a tweet wiggles? Yes. Whittles? Where he said that the end of the co like the end of the co like the the bottom of the drumstick rate he wanted. That's what those look like. That's what Bing beings kind of look am I wrong or did you call that snap? The snack cone tips..

"I don't know how to say this, Nick. Hi. I don't I don't have it in front of me and Mocatta I maybe botched that, but a well, you probably nailed it. Then I also added blistered sheet oh peppers, which was a dollar extra. Like, you said, I also got salon tro. I got bean sprouts, and I added Etta Mae, and then I also add a two two of the crunch of two from the crunch category. Crispy, garlic, and crispy onions, which are probably the worst things you can get there. Right because the little there. Those are those are fried, right? Yes. You do in terms of like healthwise, healthy things. They're not they're obviously there. It's not like it's not like getting like fried onions from TGI Friday's or something, right? But but I need that crunch. I needed to add those in their eat it. Yeah. In in. And I think it helps the bull like significantly. But but they have that crunch. You gotta have the in. I really I really enjoyed the bowl as I did a good job. I was very overwhelmed. I've never had this before. Like, I said, I didn't know. What to add I want with the I went with the other rights for my base. Yes. What's what's it called the not the forbidden rice, but the bamboo rice? Yes. And I thought it was just a really really nice taste all around. It was it was pleasant and light like you said where it wasn't laying down. But, but it, but it it was substantial in, and it was it was just it was just a nice taste. It was great. I apprised by how much I enjoyed. It was good. I will say that. We have a it's it's the the ordering experience. I would say is intimidating for a Neo fight. Because you're not sure what you're supposed to be getting. And then even if you get a prefab bowl there's like modifications to make to it. Like the like, it'd be nice. If there were more things where it was like, this is just how it comes. Here you go here. It's ready to go. Yeah. Likely sweet green as those on their menu. They have a few that are just like completely like just just ready to go. As is get it with no alterations. And you'll be you'll be set. I was surprised that you didn't get a prefab a signature bowl. Like like that. That surprise surprise me. I decided to mix it up. You're brave man. You are. Every time. I go. I'm nervous when I more right? And I'm like usually get this mango albacore. And even when I add stuff, I'm always like, should I get a different it. It's intimidating..

"A clipper superfan. I didn't know I didn't know that great style. Like a city edition hat for this finally got a good logo. And it's just for ten games in the number again. Quite a season that your your team has had were recording. This just before the playoffs start. But it looks like your guys are going in with somewhere around the six or seven seed how much you be feeling right now excited because I mean, I I knew they were going to have a good year. They're not contenders. They're not gonna win the championship. But this year was all about enticing free agent. And I think they did that we're finally the team is likable. I say we the team is likable. It's just a bunch of greedy, overachiever guys that have been overlooked. So the the blue-collar vibe of the team is just fun. It's just like a fun environment. As a game such great from the lob city era in terms of likability. Yeah. Doc frustrating coach, but then he can be get sometimes it can be sometimes he can pull it off like Austin rivers was the problem. Because like, wow, you know, he finally is with young guys and he's doing a good job. And we thought he bailed on Boston because he didn't want to rebuild. It turns out. He's actually really good with young guys. Yeah. But yeah, I was I didn't like him for years. Now, I'm like eight I never thought he was good with. I'd never thought. It was good with young guys when he was in. When I was like, a I think he is a guy who can get you a championship though. I like. Yeah. Clearly, yes. I know. I know he won with us. But but, but I I always wonder what type of team doc makes better. And it's clearly this clip this type of clippers team like like with that Boston team. We were stacked. We should have the come close to winning no matter. What? No, my coach was. Here's what I'd like to say, not enough guys, the nickname doc anymore. Yeah. That's a nickname a good. There's an era when there were lots of doctors and docks around, and then I feel like that's kind of faded. I mean, the the last generation is what Doc Rivers, I guess, Dr dre where the doctors or the docs, they don't have to go to medical school to have that beer be what you're called. So I call you doc lager. Yeah. Go go by doc. Good. My dad was has had a doctorate in chemistry us, technically Dr. Was he really? Yeah. Technically, he could put he does. He didn't do it. Because he thought it was stupid. But he could've put doctor is your is Hugh, Dr giggles, based after my father is he the guy who knows. That the murderous Dr giggles from the Stephen King story is based on. I was just wondering K. Glad it clear that up. He did actually though he did look a lot like the Yuna bomber like the not actually Ted Kaczynski. But the the the famous composite drawing of it like look like my dad wearing a hoodie and sunglasses like dead ringer for that. Did he get stopped? At all was was was there a moment where they thought he was the Unibond. I think you get some laughing like you really look a lot like that guy. You know, kind of kind of also like a little bit like maybe could be. Got my energy. Did he give you pause? Like the first time you saw it on TV. You're like oh shit. I was just proud of him. Out of the old, man. Our son was the. I was gonna say son was the unit sucker come on. No reason for that. Choice christ. That's good. I'm on that. And we'll be your fans are firing 'em Photoshop. Someone should photoshopped has bomber guy. That's fun. Yeah. I think it has that look I think a little MAC from from isn't there? Also at a dock in punch out. Yeah. I think so. Yeah..
