I think it was episode three. We should go back in reference that i think it's three but it was all on business and social media and so we i wanted to do like a part two of that but get a little more specific to give you guys some really good takeaways so that's what it's all about today confidence in business us productivity discipline and we're actually prepared this week. We made some notes. We know what we want to talk about so that we can really make the best <hes> of this episode and be respectful of everyone's time because we know that <hes> typically twenty minutes or so is usually a good time. I'm for people to consume information any longer than that especially. If it's not like an interview or storytime you know people get a little bit tired and bored board of <hes> here in tips. I love how you say storytime the cutest thing every week you're like okay it story time like i'm in like junior kindergarten kindergarten. I love story time. Do you have any stories this week. Okay so i wish you cottage for the most people probably already know that i was at a cottage because he was all of my instagram stories by <hes>. We had such a fine week. I miss it already. Do you get the post vacation blues. Oh my god yeah. I get it bad <hes> like i'm just yeah it's like. I don't even like to go away because i i know what that feels like afterwards. It's like this little <hes>. I don't even want to say the word depression depression because it's not a depression but you like on you feel in <hes> so we went up to a cottage and every morning we'd like sit on the dog and the lake was beautiful and quiet and we listen into the birds. We'd have our coffee so i missed so much by oh my god not so i started for you. God here we go nick pointed out it. All three events happen in one day and he's like seib little embarrassing moments multiple times a day like it does not surprise him at all. I wonder if it can be last resold in the car. You know when you told that story though just to take you back again. I didn't realize when you were telling me in this room that you were naked i didn't i know that you had taken your whole bathing suit off. Like why didn't you just pull it to the side. I don't know i i didn't i just so like i knew come. I'm in so i just tried to like. Get it off as fast as i could but anyway okay so tell me what's going on. We are at the cottage and my parents were away. It's like get groceries or whatever so it was brielle meal nick and i down at the dock and <hes> you know the girls were getting ready to go swimming and this is exactly so nick turns to me and it's like eleven a._m. And i had on a cute little bikini from libyan rose like a different top a top and bottom and nick looks at me and he's like babe. You're bottoms are on inside out so my tag sticking out and this always happening. I wear clothes goes inside out all the time. I actually do as well do they. Tell adam like whoever comes into the dryer is how it's going on. So if anyone comes up i feel it's mom life. You're like what are you trying to get on his past. You've got so. I'm like oh no problem. I'm like no no one's around. It's really quiet so i pull like i'm i'm standing on the dock facing the lake and i take my bottoms off. Put them like turn them around. Pull them up and i look in in front of me not and there are two people on those boards called like wake ports like they're just like you know how they eat the paddleboard towards so there's two people on paddle boards paddle boards directly in front of me scaring me like they were like five feet from me. Did you have a clean shave. At least i did. That's nick. I'm michael at least texas shaved shaved everything so at least it was crazy. I looked up. I didn't think anyone was like i didn't even bother really looking because it was such a quiet morning and usually can look here if someone's coming along and nick just look semi shaved his head and i sink into my chair like i literally hit my face. I sink in my chair. They were steering like they're probably like what the lucky <music> doing so i think into my chair and i couldn't even make eye contact but they weren't like the next call over or anything where they five feet from me. No i know but like they weren't. You'll never see them again. So what her i was so i'm like i literally just showed that my right but jonah is here's my china. I don't think i'd get embarrassed by something like that. Talk just well maybe right now because i haven't shaved ears getting you just never know honestly and all of us that we're all at wonderland we were standing in line for water slide in the waterpark and a melia looks over and she's like right at that level. You have hair points that i would never take note that happens over time yet with my mom. We were at the beach at the cottage. We went to like this big beautiful beach and i looked down at my bikini line and and i was like cheesman strikers it was a forest. It's like before i had kids. Hair didn't even go down so passes like so far is like the you know. I don't even know down my god. I really don't want to have a bad image of my late. China yeah is he like you kind of just lose all l. dignity when you have kids but okay so that happened what else so there's just so then these are like little tiny stories that it just kind of all added up like by the end of the day my mom and in my neck were just chirping me. They're like alex. This is what it's like going to cottage with you. It's absolutely ridiculous. So the second thing that happened benway's the lovely neighbors that were beside us notice we had kids rain and they had these like fun beach toys and they're like just take everything borrow it for the day. The kids will love it. They were so oh sweet so they gave us this really big tube like when that you would use for boating <hes> but they're like yeah. Just use it in the water so i was sitting in the water. There was like mesh underneath so so comfortable so relaxing and all of a sudden i like i just moved my little net and the bottom completely breaks and i fall in the fall all under the water broke. I broke that thing and i have no idea how i did it with my mom and molly just tear them me. My mom was like do honestly just so i go over to the neighbors explain broker to maybe they baited you and actually knew it was broken. <music> god i literally just went right through the water. It was raining and then the third time so my mom brielle and i went canoeing k. so moms i just love your face and you're telling these stories because you just can't keep it together on the back i met the front brielle's in the middle like she's sitting all cute in the middle and so we're we're making our way back to the cottage and we pull up to the dock but we were going a little too fast so next like alex you've because he's standing on the dock great to kinda like within like alex use your row to slow down 'cause i was at the front and i wasn't quite sure how to do that but i had this great idea idea that i would and it happened so fast so i used my row and like just like hit it against the dog and stop <hes> cane so we were like pulling up. He's like alex usua- row. Use your oaks. He wanted me to use it in the water and i just like brought it forward and a used it against the dock pat. I fell backwards in so fast. I fell backwards into the canoe. I'm between heels legs and she's just staring at me with like st face like what are you doing and my mom was dying but didn't explain so unexpected it was like i thought that i could stop it no problem yeah but it just like the. I don't know the yeah well. Actually it's an anger that no one caught any of these months. I can't run because i i was crying. Laughing nick doesn't laugh like he has like this poker face and he's like typical like he. He's not mad about it but he's just seen it so many times that that it doesn't faze him at all. You know what i mean like. Oh man alex. You are so fun that is amazing. I don't have really any stories of of stuff going on this week. Except for i have my period again which is just has been battling. Oh my god no. It's like kerry in two point. Oh down their own weren't didn't you buy yet. No i use the <hes> no well yes yes and no so i bought the <hes> the luna patterns which are awesome but yesterday was so torrential like no they worked. I just use them all so now. I just got to wash him but i actually by yesterday because when i posted yesterday on instagram about that little coach that used to keep everything in yeah someone messaged me and they're like you need to try the diva cup. Have you tried the diva cup. I have and and what are your thoughts so i was using the diva cut for a long time and then i noticed that maybe this is tim. I but i have a really hard time taking it out without it hurting okay so i've stopped using it because it just became really uncomfortable interesting. You had the wrong size lady different different sizes now but this is the smaller size in it hurts survey so i know anyway he's saying. I hear you carry in in michigan. You demonstrate but you know so. I used it years and years ago and i just couldn't ever get it right. I think it was before four kids but it is true. I do find it trick yeah and then someone message me yesterday. They're like you have like because they they know i guess i promoted the luna pads before but it's the same maker acre luna pads and the diva cup. I think so she's like you had to try to and i'm like well. I did before but i didn't really you know anything of it but <hes> i am i purchased. We're just off amazon last night's. "Is. Watching you. Many adam. Watching you watching you watching you. Oh, man. Five year extension with the Mets hundred and thirty seven million dollars Brodie van wagon on S and wise is always wanted. This. Look, I think we both had this understanding that we wanted to get something finished before the start of opening debt. And then they got a couple of days prior to was this done is Chris sale. Got extended others also any pressure. Well, I didn't feel that pressure 'cause he's Brody benway feel pressure. I told you losers. I would get it done. And I got it done. So shut your faces. Why ever doubt me ever again? Look at these is am I lying to you? I am the man we're going to win the division. We're going to win the World Series. And I will be down the canyon of heroes. Swatting confetti out of my face fluid to the top look at my hair. It's perfect smell me. Warehouse model though, smell like a winner. So will you take pictures of Adam gays the opposite happens with Brody van wagon? He looks great and everything they have the great pictures of him. Yeah. Man. I know if I don't know if a bad picture of exists, right? I think he could be a men's warehouse model. That's what I think. Did you see the a Rod's friends have come to his defense? He read that article this morning now, I did not they find it a bunch of crap. Yeah. All this stuff. They don't buy it. They said this woman was also a porn star on a different name porn stars can tell the truth to I didn't say they couldn't. But she has another identity should hire. Evan ati. That'd be perfect. Yeah. Yeah. So we were saying yesterday that the sun is sort of a do we look into that is that I mean, it's definitely one of those newspapers that likes to throw stuff out there. But one thing I did notice was that TMZ did not pick up that story with a rod TMZ love stuff like this. And they're they're pretty accurate with a lot of their stuff. So that's the pink elephant in the room. So I was looking to see if teams he would jump on it with their own report in their own sources, and they didn't and they did not at least I haven't seen it. And he's laughing the whole thing off by the way, while it's hope he is meaningless Jlo's chasing him around with a broom right now, you don't know what's going on. Brodie had another slip up with a phrase, and.

"Benway I don't know how we're going to get you. We need your help to get the Democrats in congress to pass it because we don't right now have a single democrat. Where are the free-trade Democrats what happened to them but on China? No, we need to I think Trump cap buckle here. And I think what he needs is reductions in tariffs and agreements to buy more of our stuff are manufactured products. Are agriculture products are our energy products, and that kind of thing, and and if that happens, then I think Trump would take a deal, and I think the market will go through that would be wonder. Geez problem right now given that he's looking at us. That back before Christmas. We had what was supposed to be a deal on the continuing resolution. We had Pelosi Ryan McCarthy Schumer McConnell. Trump had reached a deal. Karratha and McConnell you talking about MC back lastest last month McConnell and Schumer past the continuing resolution manana sleep unanimously through the Senate. And then the house was set to pass it all but unanimously, but then Trump watches, FOX and friends and FOX and friends slag the deal and Trump all of a sudden announces he won't sign his own deal and Paul Ryan who then desperate not to embarrass Trump wouldn't let the house vote on what they'd all agreed on two days before Ryan goes out. Pelosi comes in on January fourth Pelosi passes the deal through the house. But because it's the new congressional session. Now, the Senate wants to pass it. What's your connel's, desperate, not to embarrass Trump has been hemming and hiring for a month? And now it looks like a month later ten billion dollars down the toilet for the country, not ten billion dollars transferred from one country to another place to another ten billion dollars. Not spend optimally ten billion dollars. Simply poured down the toilet later. Apparently, we have. And it looks to me the same deal that FOX and friends slagged that morning back in December. And that caused Trump to go back on his word and say, he would not sign something everyone had been insured. He would sign two days before. So you're pointing to see how is she supposed to deal with this situation. Okay. Especially as you don't speak for Trump. I don't speak for Trump and Trump doesn't speak for Trump. It's the hosts on FOX and friends who speak for throat. Okay. We're in California today. Stephen we have the fifth largest economy in the world if we were nation. Our state Silicon Valley is very robust technology sector has great promise. Should we feel good about our economy is California's I love California. I love reason I came out here and in one of the reasons accepted invitations to come. I just love the state. I love the weather. I love the mountains. I love the beauty. I love the people. I love the universities. I mean, California has truly one of the great place center. I'm not bullish on California right now. I think California has big big problems. I think the the thing that worries me most about California is that you, and I don't mean the people in this Rummy, California residents don't seem to understand how much trouble that you're in. You have the highest income taxes in the in the country, you have the highest sales taxes in. Country you have gas taxes in the country. You have the most regulations any state in the country. Brad you were saying earlier session. There's talking about blowing up proposition thirteen that's the only thing that kept me property taxes low and in opposition thirteen in my opinion, was what what created the boom. It was right after proposition thirteen California went through its biggest boom in the history of the state. So I'm worried about California. People say how wonderful the economy is your look there's a lot of great things happening, California. You also have the highest poverty rate of any state in the country adjustments cost of living. You also have some of the worst schools in the country. Even though you've spent a lot of money on schools. You've also got up you're losing a lot of talent in California over the last ten years for the first time in American history. According to the latest census bureau report, one million more Californians, moved out of California, then moved into then other American residents moved into California. I mean, how do you do that? How do you? How do you actually impel people to leave here because we? We don't. Optimistic lack California. I think really you need fundamental change in the way, you can regulate your pensions. If you get those south, then I'll be really bullish about right now. We don't build enough houses. And so as a result people like my uncle Brad stops being a San Francisco neurosurgeon and moves to palatial estate out in Idaho sells his property in San Francisco to immigrants who then work to Phil Connelly. And it's true. My uncle Brad occasionally wishes he were back in San Francisco, but you know, he made a whole bunch of money selling his real estate and moving elsewhere. It's not that California is unattractive. Right. It's that California is too attractive. And then we haven't built enough houses. We have not poverty are workers are very because our workers are unproductive we have poverty because their housing prices are out of this world. But it's a problem. That's rooted in the fact that the California economy as a whole is so strong that we are so productive. And this is such a nice place to live while my twenty old is sending me pathetic emails from spring mayor from Silver Spring, Maryland where he's working on pharmaceutical prices, and he's in the throes of the polar vortex. Look, I mean proposition thirteen we agree disagree massively on proposition thirteen as I read proposition thirteen. Yeah. It was a nice tax cut for people who got it. But it had political economy that we're totally disastrous in the long run the fact that property taxes have been capped means that local governments have looked for the past generation at development with fear. Where are we going to find the money to provide services to all of these projects given that we can't collect them through property taxes? And this means that California has local governments have switched from being boosters to being beasts, and you add to the regular Nimby is out there who are the people who kind of sit in my neighborhood Elmwood in Berkeley. And who think it still should be a neighborhood of single family houses as it was when they just replaced a pear orchard long before it was at the core of a metropolitan area of six million people located a mile south of the university a mile north of rock ridge. Bart in any sane land planning situation. This should be triple Deckers and townhouse five stories from apartment buildings instead. Instead of us sitting here in our thirty five hundred square foot single family high-peaked, colonial house, a block from Ashby in college and living the good life. I'm this is a governance disaster. The fact that our local government that people don't just vote for Nimbus, the bureaucrats in planning become Nimby is to the budgeteers become nimbies took us. How can we pay for the tact for the services? These developments will require if you own property, of course, it's great. If you're lucky enough to have a wire into the bureaucracy. So you can easily get permits. It's great otherwise we really need to fix this. And we really need to fix this. Now that California will not have a job shortage or a job quality problem or a real. Kind of productivity property problem for the next two decades, or so, but we already have a massive housing problem is do you think that California's unique in the United States in terms of having a housing deficit housing deficit? We have a uniquely big housing deficit. Boston has problems Chicago has smaller problems Washington DC, greater Washington DC has not yet Boston or Chicago problems. But it's kinda grow problems and New York City because of its sheer size has kind of a different order of problems twenty five million people rather than six million people has problems we would have problems here because we have this huge day in the middle of her metropolitan area. And we don't use water to have high speed hydrofoils to get every across it sustained should the federal government be providing leadership on this. If it's not just a California problem, but it's not housing or I'm look, I'm not really an. Expert on housing. So I I'll just say this. I listened to what Brad just said what you said it just doesn't add up. You're basically saying you have a big real straight crisis. And therefore you want to raise taxes on real estate. There's I look at it when you tax something you get less of it, not more of it. So if you got proposition thirteen and you think you got a real estate problem now, I was in crisis. You get rid of the biggest housing crisis ever. Look, I do know about these other states. I mean, I've written a number of books called the wealth of states were states, four states. I'm gonna what's going on in America. And it's just it's plain as white snow is that the blue states of America are cratering right now. And look, look what's happening, Brad. And the three states were the worst financial shape by how New Jersey Connecticut, and my home state of Illinois, all very high tax states, California is my opinion not far behind because you believe you can tax and spend your way out of every problem. The solution the house. Problem is very simple. Donald Trump is solving. It we are creating more economic growth and more jobs higher paying jobs that way people can afford to buy housing. They don't have to go homeless. If they have a good paying job the best. I'm afraid there are lots of people who are going to go homeless in California who have or cable having lots of high paying jobs you'd be right? If we actually had a housing market. The problem is that local governments have much too much of a stranglehold on what can be built where I so were more like the Soviet Union and development, and that's a big problem. And okay, I think that's the core of the problem, and it needs a political economy solution somehow, you have to convince Iran. Bruce controls, you get rid of your high taxes and things like that. I'd say that some federal intervention conditioning say some part of our medical money on us actually, making successful progress in terms of making housing affordable might well be a useful spur to get one last night. This is important for y'all. I feel like I want to talk the whole state of California. I think states like California states like Illinois states, like New Jersey states, like Connecticut. Have these massive deficits like these huge pension? You all know this. You've got massive on payable. If anyone is in this rub is under the illusion that somehow people in Pennsylvania and Maine in Michigan and Ohio and Virginia are going to pay higher federal taxes to bail out California. I guarantee that's not happening. You're going to have to solve this problem yourself. There's no federal bailout coming. Okay. All right. Federal tax higher federal taxes to bail out Texas, savings and loans in one thousand nine hundred bailing out this work..

"Center benway's. It was here. He has a Bill. He's introduced to reduce the penetration of robocalls, and before the break ground, you're asking about how the click over right? Yeah. It does it start as like a robotic call. And then if you answer the phone than somebody picks up the phone and answers at another human on the other line. The call said actually involve human are are very few. That is not the majority problem when when we're talking about forty percent of every call made in America by twenty twenty bean, a spoofing call we're talking about largely computerized calls one one computer generates thousands, or tens of thousands of calls all at once. And and you really can't have a person attached to every call or every opportunity in which somebody answers their intended. To have a very highly developed scam attached to that call that's hoping that one or two or three people out of several thousand will either return to call or engage in in. What that call this trying to get them to accomplish which is give access to Bank numbers or telephone number or give them information in which they can use to steal your identity. That's why I get these in Chinese calls and the only thing I can understand his Bank of America. So they may be looking for your your credit numbers or something. You know, you're you're you're you're good. My. Imagine they must again because I keep getting the certain language. I mentioned as many many different languages that. They send out and there are different languages because they're targeting a specific population. It could be elderly could be people that have a limited understanding of our legal system, or or are are are the way the law's work in in our country, they're targeting specific group of people. That's why it's important that they they blanket everybody would call hopefully and try to scare them try to scare them into some behavior that they want. I I could never figure out what it was that. I was getting calls on. It's just I'm hitting hitting the crossfire. That's awful. These poor people are being preyed upon telemarketers. Usually have a an office. They have telephones third sometimes legal businesses, and yeah, we sometimes we we are also inconvenienced by their calls, but they're usually conducting a poll or. Trying to get marketing information or trying to sell a product that we're trying to really target spoofing scamming Sast. Illicit activity. That's now being conducted upon this massive platform. That's really gonna inconvenience. Inconvenience in all in a just an this amazing way. I mean almost half of all our calls are going to be these new scam calls. Do you need anybody to do anything on your behalf to help with us? Well, we are working the builder through that we just introduced the Bill we're going to work it through the legislative process getting support from the public calling their legislator asking them to support SP two. Oh, eight here in California. SP to await is the Bill that we've introduced this is the Bill that would accomplish that. And you know, the Bill would have a better chance of passing with public support. And if people wanna see an end to these spoofing calls into exposing themselves to possible scams, they can help us pass this Bill by calling in. Thank you Senator. We appreciate it very much. Thank you, Senator benway's, oh represented California's fortieth district regarding his Bill to stop these these horrible, call frankly, I'm sick of getting the myself realize that they're preying on people trying to force them to behave in ways that this is trying to scare them tactics. And especially with new technology when it you know, you can make a million phone calls a day because of technology and a computer system can do it. And it's not you don't need a million people actually, do it and make a phone. Call scary at the top. Yeah. We're gonna talk to Tom McClintock. State Representative represent California. You can follow him at rep McClintock MCC LAN T O C K. He's going to give us his take on the state of the union address and the response by Stacey Abrams, and we'd like your opinion to eight hundred two two two five two two two..

"Sixteen straight dodgers, go down to end this game. Just a marvelous job by the pitching staff here tonight. Are the Red Sox with a four two victory? And we'll be back whenever we have somebody available here. And now, let's go back to Chris in the studio. Thanks very much guys. Chris Villani here with the post game show. The Red Sox are halfway to a World Series championship after a four two to win over the dodgers in once again, the Red Sox, bats relentless tonight. Four more runs coming with two outs. Thirty six of the sixty eight postseason runs. The Red Sox have have come. With two outs. Doesn't seem to faze this team or these hitters at all. And all of a sudden the Red Sox bullpen has the lights out. That was the case tonight Red Sox pitching as a whole hell the dodgers to just three hits that included a strong start from David price. Will of course, be talking quite a bit about that throughout the rest of the evening in the post game show. But also the bullpen sixteen hitters at a row. Sixteen dodgers at a row. Retired by Red Sox pitching to close this one out as the reds. Sox win it four to two. They take a two games to none lead in the World Series. And they'll head to Los Angeles. With a nice cushion probably RIC forsillo in game three opposite the dodgers rookie Walker. Bueller? And that comfortable Kushtia two to nothing series lead to victories away from picking up. What would be their fourth World Series championship this century? Still plenty more to come in the post game show, including the totals and highlights and it's more reaction from benway park. That's next across wer Red Sox radio network. Listen up Red Sox fans returning to the lineup is legendary big hitter. Give it up for Drake's coffee cakes..

"Which is not like a formal leadership post, like you're the caucus vice chair, but I've just like a kind of like a Goto spokesperson for who speaks as a compelling person, but who speaks for the caucus rather than for an eighty logical faction. And like they're probably going to have to figure that figure that out pretty fast, which is hard again because of the dynamic in the Senate where you have a bunch of democratic senators who funding for themselves. So yeah, I think there'll be this sort of this vacancy for a somebody to speak for the unified Democratic Party. And I don't know. I don't mean to be unfair, but I could see why you might worry especially given the history of the last ten to twelve years that if Nancy Pelosi fills that role in to your point, she may be very a well aware of this that you know that that may play two. To some of the very easy attack lines in such that that Trump is going to use as he gears up for twenty thousand, who else is waiting in the wings there for Democrats, you mentioned chef Geoffrey is, yeah, one person that I'm kind of interested in Sherri boost from Illinois who she's in, not top leadership second tier. Yeah, exactly. But so she's from the midwest. She is very aggressively. You know, helping campaign especially in like more conservative red to blue areas. And I think I mean, she's she is very outgoing, very good speaker could be sort of that person that's that's on television and the other thing she represents downstate, Illinois rather than Chicago. Yes, exactly. Important represents like rural rural areas. And I do think, especially, you know. 'cause like the two other names that I brought up like Schiff and Jeffrey is the we've sort of had this like like ping pong ING of of leadership from like New York and California kind of. So it's like, you know, Crowley was was from New York, and I. Think that there is within the caucus. I think people are looking to, especially after twenty sixteen like people from the midwest and people from more rural areas to sort of like have have a voice and try to break away of the image of the Democratic Party. Just being the liberal elite coasts the has the Tim Ryan bubble officially bursts. He was in Ohio democrat from relatively rural area who right talked about challenging Pelosi till as the democratic leader. I think Tim Ryan has other aspirations other than house speaker, this. So I interested that we do not hear more about benway Luhan. Yeah. No, that's a good point. Heat chairs, the g triple. Yeah, and especially given the Democrats are favored to take the house and the his job is to get the Democrats to take the house. I'm been like genuinely surprised that I have not seen a single like spoon-fed benway Luhan profile anywhere, you know, like in depth look at like the secret data team that has been the genius behind the Democrats war strategy or something like it's weird, but he he is the appropriate age. There are no Latinos anywhere prominently in the Democratic Party except for him really at this point. And I don't know. It seems like an air raid tender. Yeah, you're right. And I have. I definitely have heard his name mentioned, I think. Yeah. And especially like if Democrats do really well in twenty eighteen. I think he will definitely be under consideration. Think he's he is. He's fairly close to Pelosi. You do kind of bring up a good point, which is I feel like the people that have been like working really hard over on the side of things like current members of the house. So like him and then Katherine Clark of Massachusetts who has been working a lot with red to blue candidates and everyone that I talked to like loves Katherine Clark and she is running for vice chair of the caucus. And it's sort of like it's like these people that are kind of like these workhorses kind of put their head down. Don't seek a lot of press very different for those who remember at the Rahm Emanuel to triple c ram is really into taking credit for things. Very aggressively and making his presence known and the current team is much more low key. Yeah, exactly. But I do think those conversations are certainly happening. I think that both of them seem to be well liked within the caucus. So we'll see. And that's the important thing..

"Well, I wanna ask you about this too because I feel like home field advantage means a lot less nowadays, and I guess it was Dru driven home last year when the dodgers beat vir- Lander to force the seventh game here in LA and you thought yourself everything lined up for them. Does it mean less than we watch Boston beat Houston yesterday in like the one of the best play games I've ever seen back and forth and their home field advantage couldn't carry them through. I think it does me less and I think I have seen a study, but certainly would make sense to me for one thing. Some chunk of the homefield advantage has always been about familiarity with your own ballpark. Right. But the ballparks have been homogenized to a large degree. Other outliers? Yeah. Benway park is unique, obviously. And if you others course deal the course for the most part, they play roughly the same. There are very few streams anymore. Yeah. The thing is the home field advantage in every sport has always been due in part perhaps in large part to the subconscious bias of officials. Right? Yeah. Who who subconsciously want to please or not be screamed at by? Right? The home fans. And of course, that's still a factor, but I think it's less so now because the Pires frankly, better than they've ever been. Thanks in part to replay the to grade their performances with all the technology. So they're just not quite as likely to give the close call to the home team again, subconsciously, nah, in even with that. And even with all the grading and all the, the replays and stuff. What do you make of the fan interference last night or the or the all, but but what do you think it should have been called? Well, I am a poor opinionated. Yeah, at least in the world of sports commentary because I can see, I don't have a strong opinion. I think it was an incredibly difficult call. I think someone who looks at at as many, many people have professional and fan look at all the evidence that they can find and they say, they know exactly what happened with the college should've been right. I just don't buy it. You're always going to have called, you're going to have. Situations where there is not a clear night, ten eighty five fifteen like a fifty five, forty five. If you're really smart and look at everything, maybe that's how good you can be. I saw a lot of people do what I would have done if I were still in that line of work daily sports, daily, daily, baseball. I right and look at every single thing and spend out if if I have my old job, I have been up until three AM just everything writing about it, right, right. And you would I would have had the same after the smart people had which is you know what? It's hard to tell. You can't tell it is it was real. I mean, it is hard to tell, but it is. It is crazy what a swing now. It did happen in the first inning and lots of things changed over and it went back and forth ironic or crazy that the game was decided by two runs. I mean that you who could have possibly known, but yet that's where we stood at the end of the game. And I think that's why specially because that. If the Astros win now were in a two two series. Now it's three one, and their backs are against the wall, and it really does look like nobody can beat the Red Sox coming out and rainy. And I were just talking earlier today about how the AL is sort of become like the NBA west division. It's like that much stronger than the National League. It feels. What do you attribute that to. Well was this was less the AO with less dominant than it had been in a while. It was still probably a better league. This goes back..

"Rank. Bird windowsill, there's rainfall in your sky in the nineteen forties. When Toronto's then city planners grappling with how to respond. The city's growing population decision was made to build a grunt expressway. That would be the envy of other burgeoning car Centric North American cities that road the Gardiner expressway, which was named after the city planner who conceived it was envisioned as a grand sweeping expressway, running along the edge of Lake Ontario and elevated above the reclaimed land below areas that would later become the city's industrial hubs. The expressway may have been an engineering marvel at the time. It was formally opened in nineteen fifty five, but it's augury changed the idea of the kind of city Toronto go on to be significant way. The Gardner as it's known here runs along the parameter of the lake effectively slicing the city itself off from its greatest natural asset for years. The areas beneath the expressway as heavy industry. Gradually moved away, became a no man's land. An inhospitable barrier between the city and its shoreline that however is set to change. My name is. I'm the benway conservancy. Welcome to this new amazing space underneath eight lanes of traffic above us. This past weekend, the first stage of the transformation of the gardeners under belly into a series of novel public spaces was formerly veiled. It's a new model for the city of Toronto and probably other cities here in Canada. Jillian sleep is the CEO of the bench way. So we're standing underneath what is now known as Gardner expressway, Fred, guard news. One of the city commissioners back in the nineteen forties and his colleagues envisioned across east-west highway sort of vision for Toronto and during the late nineteen fifties, and into the nineteen sixties. They built eighteen kilometers of expressway above us. There are eight lanes of traffic moving pretty continuously and sort of the artery of the city of Toronto tickly the dam and call and like so many cities around the world there all these big, elevated highways. Bisecting the city and what's quite story for this particular spot. And now I'm getting to know elsewhere in the world similar project is that we really think of underneath these expressways and highways. It's a public space, the damn town area in and around the golden expressways transforming yourself from industrial paste, industrial age, into big.

On time traffic seven Hey, welcome back to the show for twenty on KLBJ discussing President, Trump and he had a. News conference today with the head of Italy the I guess he's the prime. Minister president of Italy, talking about a number of things president talked, about had no problem in shutting down the government of congress three. On providing additional funds for his border wall I could disagree more of the president, but he also talked about. Sending liquid. Natural gas to Europe especially, Italy for sale there and that. Helps the industry in this country really helps you in the industry and I think we if. We could, become even more self sufficient. It's going to be, a better. Better world for the United States and I applaud the president saying he will meet with the the head of Iran and I think that's wonderful we, need he needs to do. That and I applaud him, for that we're also discussing this crazy story out of. Jail and Austin police detective was. Alleged Was not allegedly he was hitting a dog a few months ago They took his dog away he, got his dog back June eleventh in. A in a civil trial. But it's court sided with the Austin police detective And he got his dog back well couple of days ago Hayes county authorities arrested and charged him with animal cruelty and endangering a child this is. An evolving story because I was working through one story that our news department ad and there's only story available in just less, than an hour ago donate Polaski of the statesman bother another story that that talked about this trial and, how he got his dog back and said he hit it with the it didn't, hit it with the end of the heat it with a broom his dog with a broom and the court believed him gave him his dog. Back but then they? Turned it over to? Hayes county officials to look. Into now they've charged him and he's on thirty thousand dollars bond strange, story what do you do if you Brian Manley And what do you do if you're this officer let's go today hey Dave welcome. You're on kale BJ good morning good afternoon That this is kind. Of a little curious now I've dealt with the the DA down there in Hays. County west mall and he's a loose, cannon I dealt, with him in a. In a in, a murder charge that he followed. I don't really know anything about anyway. Long story short it, got thrown out in this case. You have a jury of six they took this thing to a jury they presented the case the case was dismissed against. Them less mall cannot come back in charge for the. Animal, cruelty because there's a ruling an old Latin for praise called racist Arcata means he can't challenge. The findings of that court well the findings of, the court? Was. Just I think he'd he sued to get his dog back I don't think there was any charges before that but what no but what they. The jury ruled is that his conduc conduct was not criminal of a, nature that they. That, the dog. Would be taken away. So that's. A finding You know of actual. Innocence to animal cruelty to the level to to take. The, dog away so this sort of double jeopardy well yes he can't in a in a sense. Now the other charge though the endangered child endangerment, yes that's? Entirely. Different and so he can proceed on that one but I think that his ability to bring in the dog case that's that's closed ended that. Day thanks for that Apparently the district attorney didn't, think so because he filed the charges thanks to that inset though Jay let's go to Jeff Jeff welcome you're on Kelvin I wanna talk about. President. Trump today hi how are you doing Jeff good how are you I'm doing good I just, wanted? To throw, it out, there I heard you moment he does saying shut down the entire government. That that wouldn't be the case if it were this government, shutdown, it'd be very miniscule portion of the government, that. Was suspend services in much of that would, be up to the discretion of the executive branch right I think for the non they got the. Non necessity or the the jobs. Must, have, jobs right like President Obama posted coasted. Park, Rangers at open air Vietnam wall monument wouldn't. Let, people go that. Doesn't necessarily have to happen that choice of. The president so but still the main on instilled in me Jeff, and I understand. Your point that. It says describe Aggression that it will not be just a total one hundred percent shut down but it's still the threat of. A shutdown there's gonna be some people? Who will be damaged on this who will not be working who. Will not get paychecks they'll. Be, national parks that will, not. Be. Open there'll be. Other things that will not be opened. But. I I think? It's petty. Of. The president to? Do this and. Say okay I'm just gonna shut down the. Government but don't get my way and my feeling is not only shared by Democrats at shared by. A majority of Republicans to hold, on here what are you talking about they need to work on this they need to go through this I know it's hard to negotiate with. Hardline. Democrats as Muktar negotiate with hardline Republicans but they need to work on this with dialogue not, threats? For twenty, five now, and Kilby j. Monday Yeah because. He was introduced as the starting pitcher right day obviously with with sure Zor but this fascinated me because you hear. So much about kit you're. Studying film and. Looking at charts and using analytics and everything or having it brought to them you, know sorting things up he was asked you know how do you. Prepare for a game and he said, I don't watch a lot of film he says I. Really says I try to stay away from film as much as possible The question came well how do you? Figure out how, do you look at the hitters whatever. He's kind, of go from, memory and let my catcher do it I it was fascinating You know in this age of micro everything, micromanaging. Everything and looking at film and break it down and going back to, pass games and Some guys, will look at the last left-hander. They faced he's a left hand or at cetera this. Guy.
