Guy Benson show Way returned here to the show. I'm guy Bension. Not to have you on board. I read to you from a CBS news story that came out yesterday. And I could just feel my blood pressure rising. As I read it. We've told you about Randi Weingarten, who is theory later of one of the biggest teachers union in the country, and she keeps making public statements. That are misleading. Or counting certain rules or information that seem overwhelmingly designed to try to forestall reopening the schools. That are still holdouts. He told you that? Tons and tons of private schools have been open all year. All academic year. Safely and successfully. It's true of many public schools as well. There's data out there where you can see where your state ranks in terms of the percentage of classrooms that are actually open. And you look at the classrooms closed states. And there aren't too many surprises. Let's put it that way. Blue states. Heavy union influence. It's not subtle, what's going on and who's pulling the strings and why those kids have been forced to suffer more than kids elsewhere who have been learning safely in person for months. And we talked about how some of these union bosses continue to shift the goal posts and find any new excuse. Rationalization to drag this process out even longer. I think, honestly, they're trying to run out the clock on this school year. I think they see the writing on the wall with vaccinations. They've already gotten in many cases, the teachers of the front of the line or preference. Have gotten their vaccinations and still don't want to go back to work. We're gonna have herd immunity. This spring early summer and the appetite For any school closures next year is going to be nil. In fact, I just saw a story on the local news here in D. C that a very blue counting. Or a very blue area district in Falls Church, Virginia. Heavily Democratic. They gave parents to school districts that they've been terrible this year. A lot of these Northern Virginia school district's and the unions have been awful. Within person. Learning Falls Church gave students and parents the option of what to do coming up in just a few weeks when there's going to be an in person learning option that's restoring Extremely belated and for elementary school parents. 99% of them. Have opted in for full time. Five day a week in person classroom learning 99% of the parents in this very liberal school district in northern Virginia. So imagine any of these unions trying to pull this nonsense next September. You keep saying No, We're not ready yet. It's not gonna fly. I think they know it. So they're just trying to run out the clock to get some of these teachers unions in these teachers basically a full year off from having to show up for work in person. We know it's extremely harmful. To the students, But the teachers union seemed to not care in a lot of these cases. So one of the ways that they have been delaying this and kicking the can. Has been after the CDC said. Well, teachers getting vaccinated is not a prerequisite. To reopening schools safely should be obvious because tons of schools were opened safely before vaccines were approved. But the CDC made that point. So they couldn't completely hide behind the vaccine thing anymore. They said. Well, there are other mitigation factors that have to be in place if the teachers are going to be vaccinated to have the school's open, and one of them is six FT of distancing apart from every student And what some of the teachers in these districts said it was. Well look. Six FT Apart. That's a lot. We don't have room for that Our classrooms can accommodate it so we can't really do full time and it's It's too much logistically. We can't either. Fit the kids in the classroom where we need to bring in a lot more faculty. We need to hire more people. It's just not gonna work so yet more negotiations and demands based on this six FT. Requirement or guidance. I should say from the CDC that was really rooted. In Nothing. It wasn't real science. And a lot of people have made the point. It was sort of conjured up. Out of nowhere and stuck. We read to you from the USA today piece from four Eminent doctors..

"Now, it just thing that happens. I mean makes sense. Best way to get at the information thing going on a ram television show, maybe a local shores of the announcer terminent. That's happened in the past as well. But okay. So Conor McGregor announced his retirement from 'em may not just combat sports in general, which makes me think maybe he's gonna just go to boxing if anything. But also is this really it? Are we not going to see a second McGregor could be fight that we're all dying to see and well. It's it's an interesting situation for sure because it really kind of nowhere. It was after of course, he was saying in a pre-tape on the Jimmy Fallon the tonight show that he was big talking with the U of C about a return fight in July. Wage. Sounded like that was going to be like the be or may not that. But like building up to a could be fight in the near future when they're both eligible. I guess you could say I thought that's what this was a lead to whether you're from now or whenever it seemed like this was going to be billed to that fight. Because that's where the money is. You know, I think everybody wants to see a rematch routine those two not because they were on he the fight. They wanna see the building how it ends. Because that was what was always talked about. The fight itself was a lot to be determined to be completely honest. But then. The brawl at the end of the fight was really what was talked about. In would all this Bension's one not. But is that what's gonna be it is that gonna be well, we remember from Conrad's we the last memory of Conor McGregor. If you will. Is in our could be his classic battles with. D as in those epic fights they had in the past. Is it not gonna be? Being infamous like Vince McMahon like walk that he has when he go gets in the ring. And all that kind of thing is it. Not gonna be his trash talking is giving more like his trash talking is going to be the death of him. If you will because that's what it basically came to in the long run was he got he got a undercover skin. Of course, Doug, our family and religion. And all that other thing kind of like how did with? Conor Floyd Mayweather to at that time. And it just seemed like that was what was get a. Be remembered this is trash talking if his is the animus career is it going to be looked at as one of the great careers. Well, he was the first guy to unify to titles in two different way. Classes. That's of course, a huge accomplishment without question, but the question, but the bigger question is like. Were his failures too high for like the his accomplishments if you will. And when I when I mean by that is like did his trash hockey when he didn't beat Mayweather. When he didn't beep beep. Does that put him in a negative aspect or than a positive aspects? People just think of him as a trash talker. Who backed it up only half the time few will quote, unquote. And it just feels like there's so much more to be said about this. So much to be said about this, quote, unquote. I mean, it is retirement as right now. It's officially retirement. I'm not sure how you can say that. And. I mean, he could easily come back biz could easily be a. This could easily be a ruse. I mean, this sounds like what this feels like McGregor. Would do. You know, what I mean, it just seems like he loves to play with people's heads and all that kind of thing and. What basically how what I'm seeing is. Mcgregor might be pulling our lake because I believe he's Dennis before. It was year two years ago. It was like I'm retiring CEO or something of that affect and then it was all be ruse. It was all big joke like an Ashton Kutcher. You just got punked type of thing. Okay..

"All right, and welcome back to the GMC football podcast. So far today, me and Jeff have covered. Tonight's Thursday, night football game. We both got the jets winning tonight. Second segment, we talked about the Detroit Lions and third side when we talked Steelers, saints and giants because they've been extremely disappointing Saint at least big at my pig as far as I'm not making the playoffs like good, I don't think they'd be this bad. I got the saints going ten and six this year missing out because I had Green Bay when eleven and five wildcard spot. Were you? Were you predictions for the NFC playoffs as early and all that is to say, but. I'll say the one in two seeds, I think Philadelphia's going to take the one seed again or they took one last year and the second seat. It's it's such a gimme, but I think the Vikings, I think it's going to go back to the Vikings and eagles because they still look as good as they did last year. The might be surprises. Like, like I said, the foreigners ease squeal the way into a wildcard spot. The Rams might even take a one or two Cebu save looked really, really well. They're defenses stacked. One team that I think can make surprises the bears. Yeah, I think they definitely with Khalil Mack, their defense change their defensive, like they are confident on defense, and I think that team can make, I wouldn't say, win their division, but I would definitely say a wildcard spot. Ten, six, eleven five. And I've been, I've been in on the Paris since like the middle lassie's I saw Trubisky granted. It was on a bad play. The one where Zack Miller, I mean hurt his leg, but throw that Trubisky made their like as soon as I saw him make that throw, and that should have been touched on by the way. I don't know how it wasn't, but either way when I saw what catches any when I saw that thrives like, okay, this guy's legit again. I mean, he's gotta develop an all that, but he can make the throws. So I figured I was all in on the bears after that I like their defense before they made all these moves Eddie Jackson, I liked how last year they got the ball quick enforce a lot of turnovers to recall on. I liked him. I like Jordan. Howard. I thought they needed to add receivers and a little bit more to the defense and they exact. To that. And I mean, like you said, they're looking like a team who could sneak into that wildcard spot if the buccaneers keep playing how they're playing, then they diplomat shot the playoffs and their division, but I don't see them consistently doing this sustaining it, their quarterback, Ryan Fitzpatrick, having over four hundred yards a game. I don't think that's gonna stay for the next couple. I the ver, the Steelers, how bad they're playing on. I think he's getting off again. So in fantasy football, I recommend picking him and like your drought kings fan, duel and all that stuff. But the bottom line is if when Jim is it comes back MRs Bension is he gonna take the starting job or is Fitzpatrick to keep the rings out on the. Unless it's Patrick, has Ryan Fitzpatrick. Game meanings does a lot of picks against the Steelers. You go with Fitz Patrick and I think I don't think Fitzpatrick's and be able to sustain this for entire season..

"Now is one player not the kinda mix it up too much too i wanna get into a a couple of players that i think need to be bench this week that might surprise you um one is and i want to get your opinion on these two one is jordan howard he he zero catches last sunday in week eleven against detroit over 100 yards rushing but this is somebody who is completely dependent on touchdowns and unless he gets over one hundred yards right across obviously goes without saying every running back and fancy is but he doesn't catch passes so join up against a philadelphia team that is among the best in the nfl against the run i don't see them having any success on the ground against philadelphia so i think jordan howard is probably tough to bench him because in a moment more than likely you're you're other options on your bench are not going to be as good as him but i think if you have any thinks if you have any other running backs that are kind of in the ballpark i think you have to consider bension jordan howard yeah um john howard not only does not catch passes he is a byproduct of having to need positive game script last week he had it they were ahead and in the game plus the high winds two weeks ago when they play ball green bay i was really high on him as you know south and it wasn't that i was a slave wrong on howard budgets was wrong on the game i thought that the way that we seem bright humming play in chicago's defense that they would actually be able to stay in a game if not be ahead and they weren't in iraq actually behind pretty much all game and that really really just kind of just ruins his fantasy value and being on the road in philadelphia thirteen halfpoint dogs when philadelphia's one of the highest team totals in the weekend yes it's going to be hard for john howard to get anything it seems like.

"Interesting in okay now while this is interesting michael hill said before i did this whole i did this little thing about the top 10 in the west here georgia's a good player if the lakers were to get giorgio and all of a sudden your lineup is then basically ball hill who you'd be you know signing for free since he's fridge jumped to given the effort you'd be us along the ball george hill branding a grim julius randall in brooke lopez all of a sudden you're shooting and spacing as much better if you're if you're in a secondary playmaker on for next ball it keeps your bension tact of say whether it's in our it's clarkson at we'll see if cruz more heart a emerges to get real minutes son next to somebody like nawada um you have court brewer who could place bench minutes and then you're you're better at your best bench player larry nance jr is still going to be there and zubov at the five man i i really like that fits um i i like that fit because its first of all you would then also retain bird rights if you if you then we're gonna look looks okay so just let's play this out michael everything legs were trying to do is in consideration to keeping capspace open for the big free agents next year yet whether that's paul george whether that's the brunt james with us russell westbrook demarcus cousins whatever that might be so so a one year deal to a really good player doesn't impact that in if you could get a george hill who is to me he's basically the best player that still out there are other than hayward in a who's who's going to send a longterm deal right hill is about the best guy you could get on a oneyear deal on that is a very interesting.

"I would come back because teams makes his ray because like easa games the celtics series there dan 21 and marcus smart studs naked threes and the drip colmec's couple and then also there have been climb back and then cleveland in game four there dance sixty carries restarts cannot but i also think it's easier for teams to keep the lead if they make a couple of threes to you know a would devote the best by only regular in an easier comeback occur ho that there's always that based unlike the second third quarter where the team with the leak kind of relaxes kind of go to the rotation players and the other team starts making trees can get tight but had said that's an incident happened as much not to mention because during the regular season you got a player bension rely on them more but in the playoffs you can really cut it down to look your best seven best and then it becomes harder to flip the game a little bit but like so thirty years ago that my favorite celtics demons eighty seven celtics in the deer everybody was her in they greeted the rate of the finals but in game seven and milwaukee in round two which was boston was home i think they were down by seven with six minutes left and it felt like almost insurmountable you know 'cause we didn't she'd threes back this i west seven points we really have to scrape back into this but as seven points is like two threes and your you back in the game back then it was like we got a score we get to give you a stop to the established you really a discreet back so i think woods would seems to be easier now is is the were down nine up now were down one and it can happen in five seconds i opera were down nine now we're down well that's true entertainment flip cno enter.
