MLB owners propose 76-game 2020 season
"But every single day that baseball's away it just goes further and further away from people's minds it is just so disappointing forty eight game season seventy six game season I see this proposal ESPN dot com which need to know about the weekly baseball seventy six games twenty twenty season whatever they come up with will not be like the baseball season that you and I know it's not going to be the husky two game season that we know the grind of the season the ebb and flow looking at the schedule being able to pick out games you want to go to Eric and I looking at the businessman's special on out on Thursday to see the white Sox four one oh five start we're going on the weekends when we get an opportunity to go it is not the same it it it it just is amazing that what however it comes about it won't feel the same because we won't call you guaranteed rate or Miller Park or Wrigley Field to see the games will be able to go there it'll be in Arizona will be some other place will be a Florida someplace like that if they want you to feel the same but even with the kind of baseball that they're trying to propose that they're trying to put out there both sides took a complete agreement some thoughts from Jesse Rogers early on while in solving the offer for major league baseball Tony Clark and rob Manfred should be they also be fired after this it's just starting it really is it's just amazing I mean in in in a different world both sides what at the end of this year you do have people losing their jobs at the top I mean if we could do it you have a new commissioner and you have a new our executive officer at the at the union right at the top Tony Clark and rob Manfred I mean there's there's enough blame to go around but you know we'll see what that what the FRD is after the fact you guys sent there not any work if they're not any closer than they were a week ago this latest offers its its like throwing him a bone there's a few things there but it's less money up front a little bit more money if the playoffs are played so okay and the the no draft pick compensation it's a little bit a little bit of indicted to this coming off season that's a little scary but in general it doesn't move the Polly I asked us somebody that in the know what the union you know what does this even get as close to a first down he said not even close I'm just talk about a first down or touchdown he's in agreement not even close to a first down so you know it they're just they're talking around the edges guys now again that doesn't mean there won't be baseball as we know he can unilaterally decide this thing but but as I talk to someone else about it if that happens if you set your plane fifty you know too bad no more talk you played fifty Q. the Benny hill music is that the response I got is I don't know how the players are gonna react to that wow I mean that's wrong commenter from Jesse talk about just trying to place everybody because you know it's it's so disheartening baseball itself has been behind the times I've talked about that so many times in the show where they need to be able to be more modern they need to be able to create the opportunity for to bring more people into the tent baseball's not just for baby boomers and Gen x.'ers you need to be able to grow the sport and when it's out of the view of the average fan in which we have so many things to do now as far as technology now being with family going out all these things baseball trying to figure out the forty eight or seventy six games is just

"It doesn't matter. You're still being defrauded now maybe like being defrauded maybe like going up to criminals insane, right. Hey, I got something for you taken. That's your business. But I'm telling you, I Don and here is what we found out from the center of immigration studies again that sixty three percent of households headed by a non citizen use a minimum of one welfare program sixty three percent and the other alarming information in here among eighteen pages of really like holy crap stuff about financial fraud committed against you. And me is that well, you will take for example, people that stay here logger. So if we have someone who enters this country illegally, find their way onto government assistance. I mean naturally over the course of time to get their feet under them, and yeah, they might be kind of in the shadows. But they're still doing better than they get off the no. The us for non-citizens, which includes some illegals Benny hill. I think about half of them were in half were not, but not entitled to government assistance programs. You had fifty percent use of a minimum of one welfare program for those that were here under ten years. But for those over over ten did a we win up over seventy percent. So the longer someone is here that is abusing a government assistance program. The more likely they are to be on one or more and among the types of programs again that are being used improperly financial welfare housing, Medicaid, snap wick school lunch program. How often do we have conversations and many of these not the federal level, right? How often in your state where you are? Do. We have a conversation about affordable housing. What about Medicaid in your state? Year belt shortfalls Medicaid. How 'bout school lunch program? You have your local school district. That's say we don't have enough money for schools. How much money's being defrauded being directed at people that are not even eligible for these assistance programs financial fraud being committed against all of us. So the all in number from all of that financial fraud. About fifty seven hundred dollars per person per year. And with the number of folks that are receiving the estimated annual abuse is just under twenty seven billion dollars. Now, what is the estimated cost of the border wall is around twenty five billion. Right. So while you you can't simply get from here to there. You could make a case that by simply addressing illegal immigration by addressing abuse. By those who are not supposed to be receiving non-citizens. They're not supposed to be on these government assistance programs. You could actually pay for the border wall inside of one year. And all the government has to do is what it's mandated to do by your United States constitution. And the other funny thing is what ultimately what alternately do we have if we don't have security, but it's fascinating we have people that are more interested in the political party than the our security. But I bet you I bet you if you dropped folks that are on the other side of the border wall right now. Say on the border wall of Nancy Pelosi, or Chuck humorous estate. Maybe then maybe then they'd have a change of heart. I'm Brian Mudd in for the great one. Attention all authors. Page Publishing is looking for authors. It's like when Mitt Romney had Meatloaf at his rally, that makes way more sense. I guess. Yeah, like I get it. Yeah, I love any sentence. It has to go meatloaf's Meatloaf. In the pilot of the state. Tiny, trivia question. I was just about to say favorite state sketch ever favorite state sketch ever. Okay, pro, it may not be mine. Let's see stuff, but one that just you think eight sketch ever. Could be. I'm going to not go with one of mine, so I'm gonna go with. Louis, the guy who dips balls and stuff. I'm a big Louis fan that was a Wayne. Really. Ahead of its time. A guy named Louis takes his time. Yeah, I mean, really how which are who wrote the under Wayne Marino jam, unreal, believe you hundred. That's where he got the idea. Yeah. And then also mentions would be. No, super. Robbie is a really good sketch. Yep. So over there till the kids got superpowers in Trump's. The nuns and the shoot adamant away. And then the give them a Cape. Will you show kids will be able to, oh no, no kids can watch the states, like totally family from. Yeah, yeah. I mean, the most dangerous thing is a guy gives the balls and that's just him saying. That's really not that big of a deal. I love this question. Yup. Says, ask him about growing up in Chicago with prayer hands, and then whatever he wants to talk about. Thanks. Well, so that's an open ended. Question Chicago's a great. This was a cool thing about Chicago growing. I'm Scott go one. It's cool town. But if you're an actor in Chicago, if your kid. Yeah. Do so much theater in Chicago that it seems like being an actor is like a real thing that you could do. And I know that happened to me because my parents would take, I'd go to second city would go to the victory gardens and the Goodman and Steppenwolf people do, and there's like people acting as it up and it was like, yeah, that's like some people pipe during some people make shoes some people act at night, and so it was that aspect of growing up Chicago's really cool to get exposed all that when you're thinking of making out of your life. Yeah. All right. Do you got any advice for young writers on how to defeat writer's block? Oh, shit. Well, this is a tough one because everybody struggles with it. Yeah. How do you deal with it? The one thing that I would make a bowl, a gummy bears took a bowl becoming very Brad is a kid showed them in the microwave for listening, go on then freeze. Then we're back so they've got a hard shell. You're gonna poke through. Which is just testing the human body is what I would say..

"I know the first one was a british home but i don't care to me the real ones steve carell so i would like to see the the british ones just because it'd be interesting to see the differences you know i'm sure it's funny is a lame actually i know british companies not well especially like benny hill was funny right remember back in the day yeah you're right it's very elementary she's weird and flat i really love the british okay i loved and you can laugh and make fun of me till the cows fly or whatever come home but i loved that fiveyear downton abbey at five seasons we watched all of it on we watched it all like in this past year on netflix hulu whatever and then there's one that says if you like that then you like this one i don't even know the name of it is from bbc the bbc the byebye say also and it's same thing it's like the same kind of thing but they're the guys at embassador and it's actually kinda takes up after downton abbey leaves off because they don't go go into world war two forever call this one is going into world war two with hitler and stuff it's really good and they've got servants and stuff but it's not the palatial estate like the other ones it's more of a stately town home with about five servants in or something i don't know but it was it's really interesting and i like that stuff and then we started watching lost in space lost in space this new series and you know we we watched two episodes and it was great the first one was no swears i'll second one swear start popping up and now i told my wife okay wait till which one's going.

"That's about right yeah exactly what you would expect hey hold this and then he pops a bag in his mouth and that's is that the plate is well when this ball gets away from the catcher in christian vasquez tries to get the second so three outs in twelve innings on the basis as and bogart's got thrown out yesterday and routes it's one of those things we talked about will they do a better job of running to bases in the early returns are those answer that answer would be no yeah although i think they would argue those who have come up with this strategy that the results be damned in a situation like that thereof the mind a lot of people are of the mind that aggressive base running is the way to go you may get thrown out more often than not or more often than you'd like rather obviously i don't think they'd go with it if you were getting thrown out more often than not but yeah i mean i've never been a proponent of that at lower levels like we were just talking about little league baseball and stuff like that i'm always a proponent of of making the the players make the place so yeah i'm always going for the extra base in situations like that and something can be said at this level maybe targeting a certain guy you know you always hear they run on this guy in the outfield or they run on this guy so if you're selectively running like that i'm totally in favor of it but it seems like the red sox the last year or so have been arbitrarily just benny hill and it up the second the ball is hit and they're on the base and it's just hey you know what i'm already at therapy.

"The heels of these type of incidences and that's where my frustration comes in at lloyds the narrative it is the narrative i mean it's like you said in the past numerous times um we go back to rosa parks bright aero reports about rosa parks me in the first one to not give a proceed and then you know you know in your book an an history you can bring it clawed at call them right by right this time of the year iran summit rosa parks what news agency is the only one that i found historial on claude it who bbc while yeah and english journalism i have said this several times and west has said this several times and steve watson was produce this program that we had a habit for a long period of time that when we were looking to get the straight news of the day we relied on the european press we really did because you know something it's instant about the european press is they have such disdain for this country that they will always shoot straight from the hip it's always juicy to be it is juicy in the end they the the they're press presents the facts in a similar fashion that benny hill would present comedy you know i'm right here vera but you know it is interesting because you're right all through history there there's a there's a certain cultural narrative that we just completely ignore so anyway a lot of other news and about a story that i think is just too many different kinds of hysterical ever seen the movie the wolf of wall street parts of okay it's not a movie for tender ears nose not and there are a lot of societal and cultural mores that are just bull league erred i mean really does they the the movie is very disrespectful awad regard but one of the things that are and another the capri or fan d the white 1980's and ninety thousand stockbroker in atlanta and the the movie deals with the brokerage industry specifically penny stocks and i saw a lot of the things in the real world in this movie that's why the movie wall street is even one of my favorite as well joe a shame but the whole premise of the movie the.
