"Way back and 20 in the year 2000 because it was basically one or two counties in one state what it decided it, But anyone state is not going to decide this election. Therefore, it's moot or it's right. It's not right or latches apply or the wrong standing the wrong parties every which way possible from the district courts to the Supreme Court's of the states. U. S Supreme Court Circuit Courts Look for ways to be a matador. They're not equipped to determine the allegations. And so if we don't get it right now, in 2020, the same thing's gonna happen in 2024. And seven of the last eight presidential elections. The Democrat won the popular vote. The only way we're gonna have a functional federal government is if we have a functional voting system only legal votes count. It would have a system and take that into account. And when Ron Johnson today and elsewhere which Chuck Todd proposed this commission with teeth in it, he was shouted down by Chuck Todd, who doesn't want to hear it because he's part of the leftist organization making sure that Trump was not re elected. Lastly, I'll say this. The Democrats in 2016. I think it was November 8 2016 November 8th was, I think the election day If they knew on November 9th or 10th. The Trump was gonna win. They would have pulled the same shenanigans. Now that in 2016. They knew that Hillary Clinton was gonna win the presidency. And so as a consequence, they didn't do what they did this time. This time they pulled out all stops a sure that our candidate Could not be re elected. And the empty suit. Joe Biden, the most uninspiring candidate, perhaps since Benjamin Harrison is going to be I guess inaugurated on January the 20th when half the country believes it was illegitimate because we don't have a system set up to determine whether votes are legal war illegal. I search watch last week. You know who wants to be a millionaire is like the worst show ever because like it's an hour long episode and if somebody gets out thirty minutes in they'll bring on another person episode could be over and the person is still in the middle of the game. I'm trying to find it right now. Yeah, I had it on my screen in my screen went blank, so I don't know that's good. Everybody there. People said, Well, Shannon, What are you doing? You're reading a story didn't give us the damn answer. Tech. Is that our friend this morning? Yeah, I thought I think is Harrison. Anyway, he went for me. You got a million dollars? About that. That's the first time since they it Z since the celebrity who wants to build me? Yeah, first time. But David Chang, congratulations. That's like I said, a great charity. Cloudy, rainy, windy today with a heavy thunderstorm. I can't believe I did that. I used to work with a guy all the time that I had on my morning chill, and we do a brain buster, and he came up with it. But he didn't know the answer. He'd have a question. But you didn't know that he wouldn't have the answer. All right. So after a while I figured out that Roger You sure you have the answers If I've got it this time I got it. I got it covered. So it he learned going up to 62 with rain today? 6 19. It's the big show. I have a secrets. But you have to promise not to tell anyone. Then don't tell me me that tonight. "Day fighter but yet we should just make a lot of crappy movies women that I miss. Crappy MOMS Moonshot Weirdo eighties and nineties. Movies he just they're not gonNA sorry his old man talk but there's just so many small movies that were just really fucked up and weird and just not going to happen anymore. I don't think I don't think you're GONNA get a Pulitzer today. Well Book Smart Bookmarks Nine Smart Book. Smart bookmark I went. I went back and watched. I won't back and watch total recall recently and I was thinking like that's an example of the kind of movie that that I don't I like I'm not smart enough to say what it is about that movie. That is so weird that makes it so like except for seven right. Yes Paul Villanova. And it's the it's the one where Schwarzenegger gets the memory of the Mars vacation. Yeah it's it's so silly silly movie but also he so horny he's really warning ends like super super well executed but for like I. It's like there's a lot wrong with it but also taking a big swing i. I don't know it's like the like all. The marvel movies are on most senses. The much better movies than total recall. But they're also smooth paste. It's just it's like slurry of entertainment that I don't really remember like I remember every time that Arnold Schwarzenegger like killed someone with a chainsaw and our total recall. I don't remember any events in any marvel movie like say greatly like I was so excited by cats. We're to come out of the studio system and somehow nobody noticed that this was happening so many people had to make decision for this to be the way it is so many people had either affirmatively or passively say this is okay and just got moving through the pipeline. It's incredible like was high. We were all shouting and waving phones. Jennifer or Jennifer. Hudson was singing. It was the Snot all the SNOT. Gosh like she was a different movie and that was fine. The moment when rebel Wilson. Unzips what you thought was her for. That was long. Somebody had taken a phone in the theater and shot that and put it up like the Wiki that we're gonNA came out. I just watched it that loop that over I she eats the roaches and then she gets up and she does and I was like I. I don't know what I'm watching like. I wish they had done it with like they were just doing. Cats cats doing cat movements. But I know it's wholesale is like the choreography but still I would have liked to watch really good. Cgi cats instead of like the weird cat. People HYBRID LIKE HOUSE CATS. Son's house cats quite fully door. I mean I would be on board though it would be amazing. There should be more movies with cats. The shed Max if you got any progress on buying tiger have you looked into that anymore. Veronica was not well but the Tigers bad. Yeah I think I think actually yeah. There is another update it's welcome. I think a lot of people had this experience. I started watching tiger king in the first half hour of watching tiger king. I was like I should get a tiger. It's very attainable for me. Like because they're all talking about that you can go out and get one of these things for two thousand dollars and I was like well Shit. I can get a tiger and then the more you watch tiger king. I think it probably did a pretty good job convincing me. That wouldn't be a good thing for my lifestyle just because it's does not make assumptions. Oh you took it might take away was gonNA get tiger. I'm like that was really. I think a lot of people watch you start watching it and you watch all these people buying when you're looking at the tiger cubs and they're buying them and you're like man that would be. Maybe I should get a tiger. That'd be cool. That'd be a cool interesting thing about me if I had a tiger. Well I if tigers are only a couple thousand dollars slot them. I then downgraded to the sugar glider. Here's what happened with that. It Veronica's not a fan sweet. Little Sugar Glider Name Potato. Cute can no they make sound? That's very upsetting to the Senate hacking hacking cry. Oh and they're nocturnal. So they make the sound all night. I mean that's basically a cat that flies at the baby. And then also the other thing is they they. I was thinking that it would eat berries. Sort of adorable. Like maybe I'd feed it like raspberries they eat grubs and worms and cockroaches and things like that and so Veronica pointed that out. She's like are you going to get the live critters and feed the sugar glider? The by pets your pets. Yes exactly I was like and I was like well. No and I was like. Would you do that? And she's like I don't want it to begin with so I just kept it downstairs. You keep it downstairs potato could just live in your studio. I would still need to have a special container of grubs defeat Chicago in the forceps in that I have to feed the sugar glider. The Oh Max when we feed our bearded Dragon Horn worm. He so cute because we feel it's so cute. You should get that get something you can feed that just moved for the Kerry satisfying well. And when you get something like feeding alive grub to a bearded dragon. There's just something about it. That's very dark and satisfying because they just are still at peace than so happy and just seeing them like rip it apart and it's like oh I just end. I helped end a life but they seem cool. This is actually is actually extremely dark. A Deli -tainer. This is so fucked up. I freely admit this is super fucked up. You get a deli -tainer. It's got holes in the LID. The LID is taped on because the LID. Let me get this right yeah. The LID is actually going to be sort of the floor. So when you turn it over. So what would be the bottom of the bill? Tanner is this gross light brown rudimentary paste. There's a ladder. And there's twenty five tiny horn worms on the little ladder. And they climb up there and they eat the rudimentary paste and shit down into the LID. And then sometimes you and in this Lacob you just keep in the closet and let me leave Yes yes you will soon grow row quite quite rotund giant comedy tweezers. You grab them and then you feed them to another animal. It's fucked up. I'm not I'm not like I haven't I thought about it a lot but I'm not one hundred percent. Sure that the sugar gliders deserves to live more than the GRUB I mean. That's like you're doing. That's a very confident moral calculus if you're fattening up the grubs to feed the sugar glider he feed the GRUBS you've for sure decided that the sugar glider is more important than the GRUBS and. I'm not sure I'm not that sure about Pat. Who only ever had like as an adult?.

"I like my head was pounding with excitement for that. The experience of that watching it at home. It's really good speed racer another one speed racer at home is really better than everybody thinks movie but seeing it in. I Max is like it's such a different experience to your point. Alex like which experience are we talking about? Are we talking about a qube but the lady with the arm like what are we talking about? How do you even get at that? What the handled that suitcase or are we fighting about whether or not? It's a feminist film and like all those shakes jumble on screen and I I like. I'm traveling back in time now. To how excited I was about fury road and I think I literally saw twice in one day as as well and then went to see the black and white version because Oh my God why of course he's got this weird super cut hell. Yeah and then you come out of it. And it's you're responding to the media consumption of the media and then the takes on the consumption of the media and I'm not saying that that's bad but I don't know if Roger Ebert how he would have responded to that now like I wonder if he would've just kinda become kind of an old crank sort of like I like mad solar sites a lot he is he seems very nice human but I don't think the sort of classic I don't know the the classically cinematic hot takes really exists especially after birth movies. Death is kind of like petering out and stuff like that but I. I don't use from a different time. I mean the fact that he was a screenwriter like the fact that he wrote a script he he came from my Canada the An era where rock and roll had reached maturity and become important. I just think I think there was two things. I think it used to be that not. Everyone could publish their opinion about something and so the people who could publish their opinions. It was more special. Like read. Someone's opinion about something because you didn't just have this like infinite stream of everyone's opinions about everything that's become like super Super commodified the other thing is like it to me. I I like criticism. That's about aesthetics riders. Who are able to say like I like this. And here's what this thing is trying to do and I I like it or I don't like it and I think a lot of what passes for Chris. Social media criticism and people like getting into arguments about media is people. Want to have like an unassailable position. They WANNA THEY WANNA like have this fortress of opinion that they live in where it's like if it's not that like I have an aesthetic judgment and if you have an judgment it's like mine is the morally correct position. And if you don't agree with me we have like an ethical. We don't see eye to eye like ethically that's like no fun. I mean maybe maybe it's right. Maybe it's the future. Maybe that's like how we're going to talk about you. Know I don't know books and movies and stuff from now on but it's fun. It's not as fun as talking about aesthetics one blog just reviews is it science in films or typefaces. Fonts and here. It's also interesting. How like it's so funny when you say something like twitter or you say Youtube. I wish I could rephrase that as my twitter my friends on twitter or my friends on. Youtube. You know my little friends like because you say Youtube and you just think of you know whatever whatever but like I think of like somebody. Like movies with Mikey. Where like I really something something that my friend John's Syracuse introduced me to which is like he does. He does a movie and he talks about like what he's excited about. In the movie. Very high production values is really cool. And he's an exemplar of something. That's become very important to me. Like Roger Ebert was which is. I don't always agree with this person. On maybe some level. I don't know maybe they liked that. I did or whatever but I'm super interested in what they have to say about it. That to me is a content creator that I can enjoy. Is Somebody who without regard to what it is that they're talking about. I'm there for their voice which I think in. The pivot quickly is one reason podcasts. He pretty well as you get your little friends. And they're your friends in your ears. And that's that's just the best and like we don't need in in in in the same way that we did in nineteen seventy five and back. Then you need somebody to be the arbiter to be the gatekeeper. As he sort of said Max to be the person who lets you now this is. This is an important movie. Like I am not Janet Maslin but Who was the lady in the seventies? But you know somebody like an even more than Ebert somebody who can tell you. This is an important movie. We don't have a role for that anymore. We're more I'm more interested this today and somebody's enthusiasm then in their desire to tell me like is this is a big thing in the real thing. I love those little voices. Also the movies themselves. This is the big movie like you got to see like you might even see a bunch of more like I guess I have to see endgame. Johnson thought that a lot of people around me seem to be having even if they hadn't been watching it and I'm just like how do we all agreed this was? I feel like there's almost the the gates have been flooded already to use the like. It's weird how the gave the actually happens that way. Different part of the process. It's not like after you've made the movie it's way before your move even gets to be made that the gates keeping sort of there there. I think it's I think it's exploiting the movie studios like understand that. There's like a huge portion of the public that want to that basically their hobby is like putting their opinions and their cure curing their things and talking about them online and so these studios are vying to get a piece of that. And they're like well. You're not shit if you post about movies. You're not shit if you don't post about our movie and so I think you're totally right of like they have this event based marketing. Where it's like you know. Are you going to be one of the people who sees the Star Wars at the right time on the right night and then there's also a controversy marketing? Where people make it like like? I'm not entirely convinced like whenever there's like a like a woman superhero and. There's this huge uproar and then counter uproar. I'm not convinced that some of that is manufactured or amplified by that part of that isn't the marketing of the film. But I but I think it's hard for me to imagine I just like it's gotten to be such a predictable cycle of like okay. They're going to do a woman superhero and then there's going to be this one group of people that gets mad and this other group of people who gets mad that there's people that are mad and they're going to have it out and it's going to be then it's this act of politics of like no. I'm I'm going to see the woman superhero movie like I'm I don't worry I'm a good person. You need to be an ally. I saw it be an ally for the IP lady. Yeah no I saw. I'm good don't want. I bought an extra ticket. I bought an extra ticket in my grandmother's memory. I wish for this to Wendy when the conversation like hopefully Sunday was no this movie like female superhero and also was a shitty movie. We can always April beautiful.

"There isn't. There's not really a new Roger. Ebert is there. I was thinking about like isn't it? Isn't it a good feeling when you sometimes I'll go watch a movie like I will watch for the first time an older movie and then after it's done and I'm thinking about it I will realize? Ooh There's probably a evert review of this movie of it. Yeah exactly and I can. I can go get the correct opinion about this film. Like forget what I think like. What's the right thing to think about it man? There isn't really. There's not really. A new criticism is not in the in the does not occupy the same place in our culture. I guess you know he had. He had a handful of famous. Takes the did not age. Well they were. Kinda lame at the time and did not age. Well but are we GONNA cancel. Roger Ebert canceled. No but like you know. This is taken video games was a little bit silly even by my standards but pretty. I mean he was such he had such an against an is such an ear for recognizing something that needed to be written about. And that's that's such a gift that we don't even realize how few people have that really well just is of course the all the way down to like his stuff like fruit card and all the cliches and movies and like I think. I think you're right. Max I don't know who I don't know who Ebert is now. Criticism is another thing. That's sort of suffered in journalism. Used to have like. Oh like yours all kinds of people reviewing stuff and now I'm like I don't where where's the there's so much content but where's all the criticism but maybe there's sound yes? Absolutely people are looking. I think people often just looking for an advocate. They're looking for somebody. Like I mean not not to be Brodry Everett here but like if mostly what's out? There are the blockbusters that can get created the tent pole ten movies a year for a studio or whatever I mean. What are you really? I think vendors endgame was okay like it was. It was a good movie. It's fun movie. It's cool but like I don't know what what do you have to say about that? It's not ultimately about either the medium medium or on how fans act about like. What is there to say? He looked good. That guy from no country it was really good as the purple man. What he what do you say about it versus you? Look at a show like a podcast called the watch the or even like the the just instills podcast with Tim. Goodman which recently ended he good time TV talk machine but in about the medium or the way that like the show upgrade has become increasingly about you know streaming media. That's a more interesting conversation in some ways than how the purple man did in the movie. I think that's why a lot of critics are struggling because people react. They don't just react to media differently. They're consuming it in completely different ways so the reaction is different based on like I mean. I don't know if people are watching tiger king for the first time this moment are freaking out as much as we all did like how much of that is. Like guys thing is are. We just excited to watch something together again. Like because game of thrones was a year ago so now we don't watch anything at the same time and there's really I'm kind of going back through births old stuff because I'm such a nerd. But like he wrote an amazing thing about babe pig in the city to babe pig in the city. See even butch butchered has had lime. Wow butchered semantic. Oh and I mean. We were all in the movie theater watching Bay big big in the city. And it's I mean I'm sure Emily Nussbaum is I think. She talked about this in her new book. Like at the end of it. But it's like we are at a time where we don't even know what media is we should critique lake. Are we going to talk about you? Alexandra the story you wrote about trump or the fact that trump featured it or the White House featured in a press release as news like the onions are just. There's just too much and then your eyes start to water and you girl up into will little ball and hide under your desk the lyrics that I want set that to music I I found the amazing Ebert quote. I liked babe for all the usual reasons but I like babe pig in the city more and not for any of any of the usual reasons because here is a movie. Utter utterly bereft of usual reasons and like this is so beautiful. There was George Miller. Right you're Llosa neck period. Two fast two furious adrift his logger. I it's the they've just gotten they just got up to the podcast of a lot. Check has been doing Miller movies. And it's been just just terrific and you look at what that guy did. And just the the boldness of him like this movie. Basically I made a comic book of what the movie is Doesn't really have a script. Something's GonNa Happen. Act Like you're looking at flames over here. Also these guys were pulls spicy cars. Oh and by the way toe cutter from the I max movie. He's back but now but now he's a man with some kind of problem and bottlecaps showing up for that or be like Zoe Kravitz. Okay firefighter so much that saw it and then I just turn back around and went into the theater and saw it again like I really loved it. I had the same experience. Might my we were visiting with my wife's family so they were watching our daughter who is really young. At the time we had a date night I was like.

I heard I was out walking in the neighborhood and I heard a loud explosion like much bigger than a firework and I thought maybe it was like a building demolition or a car crash or something inside went on local twitter. Because that's where like how they isn't it weird. Like where else would you possibly go next? I'm sorry you don't have next door. I mean I just the worst I can't. I know I stopped. No I won't do it now. Twitter's better twitter is less bad the next door even even during cove it still. It's still I think. Every it's Anna Karenina like everybody's GonNa have the worst next door for their own reasons so like for us yet. Still coyotes. It's still a It's it's still very very obscure racism and and someone stole my back on my next door. It's not very obscure racism. People will literally post like I saw black man walking down the street and they said no one was supposed to be in the area. It's pretty it's pretty upsetting I. I won't I won't look at it anymore. Show so I went on two hundred to find out what exploded and Alex. It's that metal the metal facility. That's across the river from the office and it exploded and they had to call a has met team. Look Jerrell it was bad was like dudes in general iron in the whole you know like Monsters Inc. They want to twenty three nineteen Alexander before we started recording. I was a being being fan boy and talking about how I enjoy your work and I do. I feel like for me. You're up there with somebody like I said like Jia Tolentino or Isaac Chatanooga or Certainly David David Roth. Who's doing the writing that you enjoy and find compelling right now on the topics that you can just in general like who who in the media columnists who's doing work specifically writing you enjoy right now? You just mentioned a couple of I always although I really I think chocolate I'm like oh. My Gosh someone's got like never hurt. Hearing his name. My heart starts beating. He's like he's like the guy in inglorious bastards where I just don't ever want to run into this week. I think about that every time. Now something goal so yeah sorry. I totally totally for sure. I always love like tapping Profiles of people. I'm always like this is going to be a journey no matter what and I'm GonNa feel compassionate and I'm going to look at things in a new way Katie Weaver crushing it. I also like there's people that the post that I'm like really into home team like yeah. Monica has mortgage. It gives like represent. Volunteers did that was naming the style section. Now Still Philip. Bump will come in there to provide some context and a graphic that helps me explain something pretty well. Sometimes I think he or his editors are somebody has a good year for. That's the thing right yeah he. He'll he'll like sometimes. Just drop in with this thing to provide context for something. I need so much of that right now and I feel like they have a good year for knowing when to hop in and give context. I also like I really love reading criticism. I really missed Roger Ebert. I'm like where did he go? Because I would always know like like whenever I knew what I thought about something. I would always want to see what he thought about it. And I'm like this is sad but like us Ryan McDonald fills that void a little bit. I she she's awesome crushing it and I dunno for laughs. I still subscribe to the Schechner chapter from Daniel elaborate. So that's what is so. It was like they rented the toast. Daniela Oh yes. Of course. What if what if phones? I miss the toast. I'll give special place to nothing beautiful. It's but yeah I really appreciate it everything that it did and I'm glad to. I feel some of the great. Some of the great like sentences like great pieces but sometimes it's the sentence you can't get out of your mind only brought speaking of people that I'm like. I appreciate the time like all of the way. Clean all the things it feels like it should have existed in the world and just like. It's just so perfect. I always like to twitter. And you Google search alley brush numbers like thinking of album. Brush really appreciating Allie. Put their. She's doing okay. Yeah this is really random but I kind of feel like this is during Cova lockdown that I discovered apetit kitchen and I kept hearing about it from my friends and I thought Oh my God. I'm already such normal dad like I don't need another thing like that in my life but I instantly imprinted on that show and those hosts and like to quit the big Lebowski you know. Sometimes there's a man sometimes. There's a man of his time. The kitchen really fill the role. I didn't know I needed in my life. That combination of those these new friends online now and they're each different and like a super team and the One lady like we just made her the Baking Lady. We just made her Biscuits her for. She's I'm sorry we just made her Biscuits and but like I love all these people and they're all different. There's guidelines pickle things that combination of like nerdy supergroup each got their own personality that I feel way about twitter. We're like well. It mostly all sucks except for my little friends. Who Don't know me and I love them and like I don't need them to know me and love me but I'm so glad they're they're in every day. I love to just go check in. Just David David Ruffin particularly just his taste in what to re tweet like what to say about it. Actually Feinberg I mean Taylor Lawrence. There are people out there who like any other moment would their job of been finding. Sebastian Gorka Amazon wishlist. Like who does that? "About your your lady. You'RE A lady. Your Middle Finger is longer than your third finger. Then you're more likely to die of colonel or less. I can't remember state depends where you start counting. I guess yea from the measure from the baser or I started the taint it has to do something with testosterone. Oh always start from the balls. Otherwise it doesn't count for the balls doesn't count. That's that's yeah in these troubled times. I think I'm about nine hands tall. If I was a horse I'd be a kings arm. Yeah Kings Really. Make them happen again. As a unit of measurement. Is it like a Cuban? Yeah it's basically. Yeah so this is not I am not. This is not what would that. No I thought I thought it was elbow Max. Maximum about measurements. What's the cubit beats me you know about? Arc's I probably I. It was probably one of those things I had to learn Hebrew school. I think what is a cubit? What Cube it? Let's learn about Cuba. It's yeah I with you Anderson you're saying instead of having to equal to the length of a four kings arm accumulated equal the length of a forum. This is a cubit so instead of having some globalist one gram unit that sitting under a Bell Jar in France. Let's pay savannah change ally but it didn't have with the space shuttle where they messed up. Alexander's and their famous. Sorry Alex Cox isn't their famous story about them messing up a SPEC for something on the space shuttle where one group had it in metric and the other headed imperial or something. I are we talking about this. The challenger the sad rubberband story. Or I don't know why you think I know about spaceships space person with that haircut. I do and I'm really not space night and you thought about. Have you thought about becoming a nut? Have you thought about becoming like a civil war buff or maybe like like a pop? Science can turns out person. You think he'd enjoy Shankar. Vidana would you like to become a turns out person? What do you aspire to be? Yeah I well there's also different genres of turns out people. Now there's a Merlin turns out where it's like. You know how you should completely clean out your inbox that I definitely said exactly that ten years ago well actually and Malcolm glad well like And there's me I guess which is like an imperial furio says slash teenage military boy type of luck. Where I'm like I know a metric. Your metric furious cornered the market on something where it's nobody knows about it but it's easy to know about which I think are the to. Nobody knows about things because they're difficult to know about it. So I tried to become Benjamin Harrison expert for this very purpose and appeared in a documentary about him. But the trouble is like. There's not a lot to know about him but I still don't fully know most of it so they had like one line. I'd like I'd really into a custom windbreaker with Benjamin Harrison on it and I asked credited as Benjamin Harrison busiest appear to live. Yeah he was married. And that's it off but I have two things that I think are facts that I know about him. One of which is that he was twenty third. President actually three six three six. He was twenty two president Clinton and his family and he was called the pious moonlight dude when he went courting. And that's it that property investor protection. Okay that's GonNa Benjamin Harrison fact but yeah. I didn't know any of those things. So that's the log line. Now he's different from William Henry Harrison. The President I believe I believe Benjamin Harrison is the only president from Indiana Immune because we go to Indianapolis for for Gaming Convention every year? And there's unusual and there's an unusual amount of Benjamin Harrison sort of plaques and memorabilia so I've sort of extrapolated from that he's got to be the only if they had a better president than you'd see more middle. The Predator like to be called the general my you rape stone in his house. They have an impersonator like they really go for. Benjamin you can three D. landed in plastic. 'cause they have a free template online? The Benjamin Harrison historical site is really trying to make inroads the future. Good for them. Oh my gosh for going to do it why not lean into it really? What did he do and during his Presidency Olive? The Sherman Antitrust Act. I think during him but I could be wrong about it if you did a lot of the stuff with National Park. The Teddy Roosevelt gets credit for okay. Oh Teddy still valor. In that case Gave some lectures about how women might get vote soon. So here's some stuff. They should know about civic duty. I think was the reply. Get teammate try to help again. He was explained. Splaine guys always doing. This is how you punch the card you know and I think we all could use a little bit of that now like this is how you put on the stamp. This is the voter fraud. That's going to happen right. Oh you Alexandra you seem to not live your life on twitter. But you're very good on twitter. I and there was the wonderful Cova. Did know what was it. A Cova or a vote thing that twitter called trump out. Oh yeah it was coding thing. He's like it had. The mods spoke for the first time. Somebody somebody caught. Somebody called the lifeguard normal person on the on a forum where people were like. I modified this recipe and it didn't work out for me. Like just think how much the MAS would be fed up with their by now they just feel like this guy again like you can't believe it's weird like this is the first time and not like. Oh you know coming. Let's remember our Second Amendment folks. I hope they show up at this event and are you accused of Joe. Scarborough of like murdering an intern. Weekly thing like everyone was like no..

"If you're just joining us with this is that is political cartoonist. For the stars you know got Gary barbell although he's. Your pictures or senior cartoons have seen all over, the, country and. Author Donna Griffin here locally old whiskers escapes is the book this is. The first, in. A, series. Of grandpa president president books it was actually the brainchild of the director of the Ben Harrison site. That's Charlie Charlie hi yes and he had this vision. Of after we came up with the old whisker story I was impressed. With Benjamin, Harrison and all, of the accomplished that a lot of things I didn't know because to do the. Research I wanted to find out about him and you. Know I've lived in Indianapolis most of my life, and, I went. Okay I didn't realize he had done all these great things and so. But what, I. Was. Impressed. The most about was that she was such a great grandpa he was sounds amazing You know I mean that he would his grandchildren came I even though he was president United. States and he took a lot of flack for, that? From. The, New York, people and when we did, the story China goes you know we should do more of, these because, there's so many great moments that. Are going to come of Harrison where he just he didn't wait for, people to tell him what to do or he didn't worry about, the con- sometimes, concert he just went in and did what. He thought was right did you have. To learn more about Benjamin Harrison Gary yeah well you know a few several. Years ago I did a painting for the Benjamin Harrison home of President Benjamin Harrison and it's a pretty large painting and one of, the things I did was he was. A short man, and so I have, him sitting in a chair in his, feet. Don't reach the and then I put like a trash. Can and in the trash can was puck magazine puck magazine was a famous magazine political humor and. Had all these great Caricature artist, and cartoonist and then they would do this stuff and they would, poke fun at, Benjamin Harrison a lot and he didn't like. For all different reasons mostly political reasons. He called him all cat all hat, and no, cattle or something like that And they. Would draw him with this huge top at the didn't fit him you know Is picking on presidents is nothing new no. It's not But it was kind of fun? For, you too When did that direction and learn about. Indiana's Benjamin Harrison Indiana's only president that's for, sure, and if you've never, been to the President Benjamin Harrison. Home an museum you really need to do it. "Number two I never voted for a boyfriend I'm not voting? For someone to love me and I've, talked about the. Fact. That one of the Things that got noted in the twenty th campaign was that in. The exit polling President. Obama ran away with the following category cares about people like me. And I personally don't care if the president knows my, name I don't care if, he cares about me personally I care that he cares about policies that allow me, to flourish or fail. Based on my own doing and not based on government interference so that said I can understand when. People really questioned this while a how is it possible that character doesn't matter the question Gary? Is do you think that, what we have seen not leaving. Helsinki aside or you, can have that in there from the president regarding character do you think this more and. More becomes a conversation of twenty. Twenty or is it again I have successes that. Have led to a better life. For me and my family. Era go I continued down the successful path, and I teach my children don't. Be the personal him be the professional him. They're getting more, in their paycheck coming home because they're not being taxed as much I think? They see the economy turning around people are, are getting work people are some people are getting raises I'm not but I'm saying some people are getting raises the other two things. "She does some hammer writing for the postal why did you take care to get involved in this podcast she is very funny i so part of what i did with a podcast was my sort of main effort was to bring in historians and biographers to tell the story but what i also tried to compliment that with was a cast of journalists from around the room at the washington post who's either they're they're beat intersected in some interesting way with a president i was covering that week or in the case of alex she grew up in indiana and her i believe it's her aunt worked at the benjamin harrison museum and her family has had just this lifelong fascination with benjamin harrison so she appeared on the benjamin harrison episode leader but i thought it would be fun to have her come on and also do the grandfather's episode here's my show crawl from the library of congress and this is about grover cleveland's illegitimate child there's a minister in buffalo who tells a local newspaper that cleveland fathered in illegitimate child the story had a lot of potentially sorted elements to it and reverend ball then embellished what was already what was already there and made it a huge scandal so of course you know here's this person who's known for his incorruptibility and his trustworthiness and now he's he's confronted with the scandal that is being presented as as quite an ethical lapse the news starts to spread through more papers around the country and it seems to be swaying voters there's even a famous editorial cartoon that comes out with a baby screaming ma ma where's my pa and i think there's a little bit more to that says he's gone to the white house ha ha ha the view is given grover cleveland's life and married at twenty one year old when he was in the white house and then this story what do you think that what what what what would have been the coverage of that today and how does that relate to what we're seeing daily news salacious sexual scandal kind of emerge on the campaign trail but you know we see it we see it with the.
