"That? And what does that mean for the Republican Party? Does it show a kind of a fracturing? I think it does reveal that there are some fractures in the party and we've seen that over the course of the latter days of the Trump presidency as well as this impeachment trial. We have seen some members of the party willing to break with the president. Unfortunately, in the case of the impeachment trial, not enough to clear that very high bar needed that would have prevented Trump from running for office on DCA picked it him of inciting an insurrection on January 6, But I do think that revealed some fractures, and it reveals a complication for the Republican Party going forward. Now. Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell voted to acquit but essentially Cape came over afterwards and said he is practically in morally responsible for what happened. January 6th I? What does this mean for McConnell? I mean, it seems that that's gonna be a great talking point for anybody who's running against a Republican in the Senate. In upcoming elections. Well, you know, by the time McConnell actually goes up for reelection, hey, was just up for re election. And so he's got a You know a number of years before he's up for reelection again, and Voters don't have a particularly long memory, So by the time he's up for re election that will probably no longer be the number one thing on voters minds. There's also a question of what you know how long McConnell will continue to serve in office considering considering his age, But you know, McConnell's statement represents. I think the kind of dances some members that you appear trying to. We're trying to perform during the impeachment trial, which is You condemned some actions on the one hand, but on the other two essentially refused to convict him on a technicality. So Senator Chuck Schumer is indicated that they may pursue the 14th amendment to try to keep president former President Trump from running again. Is that feasible? Is it constitutional? Will it will it work? Well, it's certainly something they could try. It hasn't been tried before, and it certainly hasn't and it hasn't been tried in the case of removing or barring a former president from running again. There's a lot of questions about the language, and it is something that You know, will take some time to sort out that does being the only you know power forward if the Democratic Party is hoping to bar Trump from potentially Running again down the road. But it also remains to be seen whether that's something that the Democrats want to pursue. When they have the Biden administration trying to get a you know, a pretty ambitious agenda off the ground. On when you know some Americans will will tire of this At some point, so that is, you know that is the path forward. There also are, of course, a number of other cases outside of Congress that the former president is facing. All right, well, unfortunately, we're out of time, but I appreciate the information. "Professor of political science Benjamin Gonzales. O'Brien, who told me in a Koga news interview that Biden's inauguration. It comes in a historical time when the nation is especially divided where not only are American divided but increasingly They are consuming different sets of news different information than each other. And I think that this is what makes this historical moment difficult to compare to past one, he says. The spread of misinformation on social media has helped to drive a wedge between many Americans who otherwise have a lot in common. You could read more about this and hear his entire interview at cobo dot com. Keyword Cliff notes. Now it is time for news about your money with Sully. It's brought to you by bay Alarm, Putting the pro in protection. Hey, Sully. You guys having a really great day. Today, Stocks are trading their record highs as President elect Biden this schedule be sworn in at a scaled down ceremony that begins as you've been mentioning here didn't just a few minutes here. The incoming president has laid out plans. For a $2 trillion covert package, and many economists believe it's gonna be a bit of a challenge to get this across the goal line here but nonetheless during one of the biggest busiest earning seasons Of the year. We're having an unbelievable day. NASDAQ is up almost 2% believe it or not up 221 points at 13,004 18 S and P up 40 points. That's one full percentage point at 38 39. The Dow Jones is up about 6/10 of a percent. At 31 109. That's 178 points higher there, sort of in a really solid in Wall Street. A couple of things just to think about earning season is underway. We're going to see Goldman Sachs today were to see IBM today and we have a raft of bank earnings coming today, tomorrow and Friday, one concern for the market bond yields or around their highest in the year. Traders are preparing for a lot less stimulus from the Fed Reserve because obviously in bond yields go up. There's an inverse relationship between bonds and interest rates. This might drive interest rates down just naturally. On the stock market. Apparently not concerned about violence in D C today in a smooth transition of power, so fingers crossed. We'll see that for the rest of the for the rest of the trading day today, but so far so good Dow Jones NASDAQ s and P all up and I'll tell you everything else and you know, coming up here at 7 55. "Motor media again, that company with and then the transition, of course, the medical cannabis is really keeping a focus on the lens, so to speak of how Positions, particularly the MPs view, medical cannabis, My sister being very conservative, and we have had some really had been really provocative conversations on on In her views of cannabis and including it, and then no at the same time, I'm a rule 11 really interesting and great afternoon with that with my niece is part of that, who is actually wrapping up her residency in orthopedics and yet much younger and had a different, more accepting viewpoints. So, Yeah, it's you know, it's Zoe's sweet spot for you, and there's definitely a lot of work to be done for. Sure, it's a huge struggle that Max and I have We fortunately have Dr Benjamin Gonzales doctors corner with us that That, um, you know helps, And we work together on how we can attest, doing a better message for people. But, you know, the interesting thing about the marketplace is that when you talk about cannabis, there's so many different ways a consumer or a patient can access. Cannabis. Um, you know, Max and I are product is hemp CBD product and you know, and then also, there's um, the medical program that that can't medical cannabis has in Maryland. There's recreational programs. You know, how do you sort of war is that part of like the confusion you think that physicians have is there's just not necessarily a clear path because they also have the Prescriptions that the FDA has approved like Oppa, dialects and Sativex and marital Um, you know, right? Yeah. But what? Yeah, Back up The conversation A bit is that to raise everybody's awareness is that 97% of medical schools do not include any education on medical candidates going back to what's called the End of Canaveral system. And that this is one of the major systems that the body that regulates home homie in Stasis and balance. And it says one of my physician colleagues said not just not educating future positions on the end of Canavan. Oh, system is like ignoring the cardiovascular system are ignoring the digestive medical school. Right, Dad Way. Agree? Yeah, I'm glad you pulled us back, so I'm glad I'm glad you did. Because I think that that probably is the biggest thing because it's almost like when you say into Canavan in the system. They must think it's like voodoo. Right like is it real? Right, And it's very real. Yeah, I said it is, um, you know, get. I don't want to dive deep into the science of it. But yet these receptors as they're referred to or throughout the body. And again are part of every process within the body. So how do you get the trust of the physician? How do you get them to understand the concept? You know, it's it's again that there's theory. Get a medical card. You go to a dispensary in some states. It's recreational, or do you need just the CBD prod? You know what I mean? You gotta Wegmans and buy buy a DVD products off the shelf there. Have, you know? How does the I guess it's a bigger question, but really, what I'm trying to get to is, you know the physician response. How do you actually convince them or get them to be open minded enough to take to take this topic seriously? Yeah, well, and that is it to position yourself as a subject matter expert and that you know that and established a level of trust as a, um, well regarded resource, so that leads to why I am in Graduate school, the first graduate program focused on medical, cannabis, science and therapeutics at the university around Call Pharmacy and the My intention I enrolled in that program. Um, my gosh, When? When did we start of lost track of time Cover 29. You know my goal as is, you know, as much as I can about this plant and so coming out of where I can have these, um, truly Uh, evidence based medicine conversations with positions and again build that trust of being a trusted subject matter. Expert. Yeah, that's great. And we'd like Tohno hopefully continue this relationship with you as you Get deeper into the industry. You know, I know there's just so much we could we could talk about it. And the interesting part for me was around the music choice, which that for everyone. That was Alison Fitzgerald. The 19 thirties is is is something you're drawn to, and that's around the time when things started to clamp down on this lovely plant we love so much. What's your connection to that time period? Sure. Yeah. So I became aware, you know, just studying policy. And what you're referring to. The 1937 was when cannabis became illegal. Um, it actually I think the 18 forties became was introduced into the U. S. Army Copia, which is that book of the list of every single pharmaceutical drugs. That has produced an available for use. And it was introduced to, uh, Western medicine by doctor who was English doctor, William Shop Shaughnessy and, um, he had been introduced to it. I believe it was in India. And you know, so they history of cannabis where it was actually from that 0.18 forties up until 19 when it was removed from the U. S comical Pia. You might've been like 1947 or so, but it was literally, um, are almost in every physician. Black bag. Um Queen Victoria is famous for using it to treat Australia Herc a billion Children that she hadn't And with women's health issues there was it was well regarded and recognized medicine. So anyway, I lost track of the question. Yeah, well, I think you know my brother. We're running low on time. If you can believe that. But I think at least for for you listening now, 30. Yeah. Yeah, you have to do in my research. And so, um, somebody had introduced me to pee pads, which we're confident Keypad, 19 twenties and thirties. Where they were speakeasies where folks could use cannabis are you used to smoke the marijuana without fear? Prejudice? And this is where American jazz was born in the speaks speaking Billie Holiday kept Calloway, Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald. That's beautiful. I like it and that's the teeth. That's another business. We haven't gotten to that discussion it but we want to thank you for joining us today. We appreciate it. Everyone. Stay tuned. We're coming back with everyone's favorite doctor. Thank.
