"Full back? The two names I keep throwing out. If it's in free agency, it's Elijah penny. If it's in the draft, it's Connor Hayward. Both of those guys are utility fullbacks. They're just aren't a ton of those blocking fullbacks available anymore. They might really have to dig to find one. When I say there isn't one in the draft, the board I use goes, I think it was like 550 players deep. And trust me, I'm not necessarily familiar with every player on the board, but I sort it by position a lot. Connor Hayward's the only fullback. So it goes 566 players deep. There's board. Shout out Isaiah land linebacker Florida a and M. What was I saying? Yeah, so if they want to find a true blocking fullback and they're not doing it in free agency, they're going to have to go to Canada. They're going to be the international pathway program again. Right. I mean, this is beyond the USFL at this point. Japan plays college football. I know Norway does. I'm missing an obvious one. Arena league. But yeah, I mean, that might be what you're talking about. There's guys out there. There's just, you know, we get in the weeds, right? With this stuff, yeah, we're talking beyond our knowledge. Than that. Which is why I think they're going utility. I think they would have kept Jakob Johnson if they wanted that role. I think they're going to go with the utility fullback. Ben mason real quick, not on the roster anymore. He signed a futures deal with the ravens. And that's the other thing. Yeah. Some of these guys are going to get cut. They may just be like, eh, we'll throw whoever will throw William Sherman at fullback throughout camp and then somebody will break free and we'll sign them off for practice squad or claim him on waivers or whatever before the season starts. That could very much be the plan too. Yeah, as much as it drives me crazy just from a big picture standpoint and the fact that you're just your maximum point production is so much lower as a team when you run a team out of 21 regular the way the Patriots have in the past couple of years. But their production and their efficiency at a 21 personnel has been the best out of any personnel grouping that they've been in pretty much going on since the 2018 season, right? It's been three or four years now where 21 has been their most productive grouping. Why? Because they're averaging over four yards per carry on the ground when they're in 21. And number two, their play action passing game is fantastic added 21 personnel. And they leave the full back through the whole, they get everybody to jump up, they hit the tight ends and their slot receivers crossing over the middle. It's a difficult play to stop. They've been running it like the same way for ten years. Now,.

"League year is officially upon us at 4 p.m. eastern, the calendar turned in the NFL to the 2022 season. That means that signings can now become official trades can now become official and for the Patriots, the first official free agent signing of the 2022 off season is in the books. That is defensive back, Terrence, Mitchell formerly of the Houston, Texans, a veteran corner, plays outside corner, played a lot in a zone system for levy Smith last year in Houston. Somebody that is a steady and capable veteran on the outside. I liked what I saw on tape out of him in zone. He understands route distribution. He knows where his eyes should be, you understand his roles and his responsibilities. Certainly not on JC Jackson's level, not somebody that's going to really move the needle all that much for the Patriots, but as a depth corner option, somebody that he can play on the outside, the Patriots needed somebody in this mold. And they go out and they get a guy in Terrence Mitchell that's played a lot of football in his career, but it's still only 29 years old. So this is the type of signing we were expecting for the Patriots, a lot of targets of the Patriots are going to be going after are just like Mitchell, these cost controlled veterans that were released by their prior teams doesn't affect the compensatory pick formula and is a reliable player for the Patriots in their scheme, along with Terrence Mitchell, some bad news for the Patriots on Wednesday, two more departures. This time, going to join Josh McDaniels and patriots west out in Las Vegas running back Brandon Bolden and fullback Jakob Johnson going to play with the former patriots OC with the Raiders Bolton bolster in New England really has been a consummate pro for the Patriots. One of the leaders in that locker room, somebody that has mentored young running backs like Damon Harrison Andre Stevenson and then just last season, taking over for James White and filling in admirably as the Patriots top receiving back, Bolden has done just about everything you could ask of him in the patriot system, core special teamer, reliable insurance policy on offense and a consummate pro in the locker room Bolden will be missed. It's not a catastrophic signing for the Patriots to see him go to the Raiders, but certainly somebody that has a lot of love in New England. Now, joining him with the Raiders is fullback Jakob Johnson, Johnson was not tendered by the Patriots, making him a unrestricted free agent he wasn't RFA, no RFA tender for the full back, makes him a UFA and now he is free to go sign with the Raiders. This is interesting, kind of like some of the other moves that they've made on defense. Maybe a bigger picture change going on here with the Patriots going away from a traditional fullback or potentially trying to upgrade the full back position as a receiving threat out of the backfield. That is definitely something the Patriots have looked at over the last couple of years. You have a Dan Vitale signing. You have the Dalton keen draft pick. You have Ben mason from Michigan coming in here as a practice squad player and obviously Johnny Smith, who's more of a Swiss Army knife HVAC type than a traditional inline wide tight and potentially for the Patriots moving forward. So it does sound like they're trying to get some more juice out of that fullback position and not just have it be your traditional battering ram lead blocker like we've seen with James Devlin and then Jakob Johnson, a different direction potentially for the Patriots at full back and maybe some more too tight end sets than what we saw for New England last season. Now the Patriots remain in the hunt for wide receivers inquiring just about everybody around the league still and the wide receiver market has been relatively slow and if I was a betting man, I would think the Patriots would sign at least one wider receiver before the first week of free agency ends. Obviously the big name that's still out there is Alan Robinson, the former pro bowler, but there are some others in those lower tiers at the Patriots have kicked the tires on from Travis Benjamin to Dede Westbrook to some other players that can potentially return kicks and punts as well because they also did not tender returner and wide receiver Gunnar roll chevsky officially on Wednesday. So of chevsky just like Johnson will be an unrestricted free agent as well free to sign with another team. So that's the wrap up of the Patriots news on Wednesday. We will have you covered right here on patriots press pass with any breaking news as it pertains to the.

"So I think he's going to go a little bit higher than most patriots fans want them to take a running back, but Karen Williams from Notre-Dame is an awesome third down running back prospect, right? He's somebody that can pass protect and catch the football. Lands airlines come for him as Dion Lewis, right? So he's somebody that can really play that role in a high, high level. So maybe an end of the third round type of guy probably the top 100, maybe a little bit too early for the Patriots to take a running back, but Karen Williams from Notre-Dame. We can definitely play that James White role. He probably won. The one thing I would say to that is I think James cook is a very comparable player. He'll probably go 2025 pixel later. Right. And that's how the Patriots approach this, right? I think they'll look at that spot and say we could grab Williams now or we can realistically wait until our next pick get cooked. I just think they go that way. So the running back car is a staggered really weird. Yeah, or even like a CJ verdell later on in the draft. He's later, yeah, CJ riddell. And clusters and all that kind of stuff. This is where we get into that with Karen Williams. Let's talk about defense, more important than running back anyways. Defensive line. Can I get one more on the offense side of the ball? Real quick, yeah. I know you didn't want to do tight ends. Nope. But there's a guy named Connor Hayward at a Michigan state. He was a running back for two years converted to tight end. He's a big dude. He's 6 foot two 30. He's not quite a move fullback, but he's a full backpack and can give you a little something in the passing game. He's a really unique player. He was at the senior bowl. He's a guy who's going to be on the radar. He's a guy who kind of has that different. I think there could be, they're going to bring in at least one full back. I think from undrafted free agency to even if they resign Jakob Johnson, the one thing that we've watched them do in the last couple of years, Ben mason, and Vitale is potentially trying to get somebody that can catch some passes from that thought too and not just be a lead blocker. So this is Hayward. Again, 'cause he caught 30 passes when he moved to tight end this year. He also was among the team leaders in special teams tackles. He covers kicks. So he screams day three developmental patriots pick and I'm blanking on his first name again. I just said it's Connor right, yeah. Connor Hayward out of Michigan states a guy to watch..

"Partners bet online dot AG. The Patriots were back on the practice field on Thursday after sitting out the day on Wednesday, the pads had a lot of new faces out at practice after cut down day officially on Tuesday getting down to that 53 man Ross for limit on Wednesday. We saw all the waiver wire process. We saw the practice squad basically come to fruition and a lot of those new faces were out at practice today. Waiver claim wider silver slash running back Malcolm Perry was at practice for the Patriots donating number 19 Perry working with the wide receivers during positional drills. So that will be his home at least in terms of meeting rooms and positional drills for the Patriots here. Wide receiver, gadget player, do it all guy, former navy quarterback, you know, Bill Belichick absolutely loves that. So the Patriots place a waiver claim on Malcolm Perry. He's out of practice for New England on Thursday, along with Perry. We also saw a couple new additions. Oh wait, first of all, we saw new offensive tackle yes here Durant, almost forgot about yasir Duran. Number 63, 6 foot 5, 6 foot 6, 330 pounds, a massive tackle prospect that has good play strength and decent feet for his size, the Patriots offensive line coach, Carmen Bristol, said that the pads scouted Durant quite a bit during the pre draft process. We're trying to come away with him, but then he got scooped up in the 7th round. Now they make the trade with the Houston Texans to get him here after the cut down day. Along with Durant and Perry, we saw the practice squatters fill out that 16 man practice squad 15 of the 14 of those guys, excuse me, out of that patriots practice on Thursday, three newcomers, quarterback, Garrett Gilbert, linebacker, Giovanni tavi and fullback Ben mason. Masons are really interesting one. We know Jakob Johnson's been pretty solid for the Patriots. But over at Michigan in the last couple of years, mason has been a battering ram for the wolverines, the ravens, drafted him, they have a couple of guys like Pete Richard, who were ahead of him on the depth chart, and it was a little bit difficult for him to get out there with Baltimore, but now he comes to New England and according to Ian rappaport seems to be in a direct competition already with Jakob Johnson mason has a chance to be a long-term fit here for the Patriots as their lead blocker. So along with mason and Gilbert and tavi, those players were out at practice. Cornerback D'angelo Ross, who was also on the New England Patriots practice squad was in spotted during the session at least during the media portion, but I am told that he has not been cut from the Patriots practice squad, dealing with something minor on the injury front, but Ross is still a member of the pat's practice squad as of right now. So not a release there. Just wasn't out at practice during the media portion of the session. The Patriots will be off over the weekend Friday Saturday and Sunday. Bill Belichick, giving the Pats Labor Day weekend off the pads will be back on the practice field on Monday afternoon, to prepare for the Miami Dolphins in the season Oprah, they're just a week away. We'll have you covered down here at Foxborough again on Monday and throughout the week next week as the Patriots make preparations for the dolphins. And of course, will be inside the lead stadium for the season opener against Miami a week from Sunday..

"I don't know if I mentioned it, but the Patriots had nobody claimed on waivers that they released yesterday. So everybody cleared waivers for the Patriots in terms of the guys that had to go through the waiver process. So everyone was an option for the Patriots to resign on the practice squad. So we'll get to some of the players that they were able to bring back. But was Ben mason the most predictable signing that we also seen coming because this was fascinating. Now, Ian rapid board said that the Patriots are signing Ben mason under the impression at least what has it was presented to rap sheet to quickly elevate him to the 53 man roster when a roster spot becomes available. So first and foremost, what do you think about them getting Ben mason here in the vault? As soon as I saw Ben mason was waved yesterday, I thought that my ears perked up, right? I thought this would be a possibility. But now it sounds like Ben mason has a legitimate chance to knock Jakob Johnson off the roster. And then they're gonna carry two fullbacks. Which they might. You know, we went from I was sitting here saying they're not gonna carry a fullback to, you know, maybe you go 22 personnel two tight ends two fullbacks and you just push your way down the field, I guess. I don't know. It's interesting. I think the nature of the fullback position is highly physical. And I think it's a spot that you just, you know, you want that depth, right? You want that extra depth. Because, you know, we remember what happened when James Devlin went down and then Jakob Johnson got hurt shortly after as a rookie and they really didn't have anybody for that role. So they have some more depth there now. I also wonder if it's maybe a thing where he's gonna be elevated quickly then sent back, maybe hunter Henry's not ready to go and Matt lacosse isn't ready to go instead of adding another tight end. You're just kind of used him as essentially a blocking tight end mason and you put him on the line of scrim. He put Johnson on the line of scrimmage and Nathan is the fullback..

That's where you can sort of this. This status will the impact that a top player has and you can say that when i talk about what haywood depre- to now you know instill chicks Just think about how many sex stage. I i started season. He's being held a bit. But i definitely you started to see it as the weights wrote on meticulous middle the middle sort of four or five games this season and it's like holy cow like what are they doing. They have to is going absolutely ridiculous. He's neck arcand must have been using the whole off postgame men but the amount of headlock he had in there but twenty one. I would like to see the goal. Bain highsmith replaces dupree's and you should think that that's possible with the sikhs that he had utah. The playing music playing games than starting gains as well. I want i would love to see five people. Make sure they're above. That ten. Not full and i want to bush that top ten to a one say may allow bush to do a bit of their free roaming to by having some interesting dime back from. What have you that really. I'd love to see three guys. Go fifteen to sir. Ken to it. Upgrade to being the fifteen q biharis cape come. What match that with. Nineteen on twenty can high with just up. I think they seem really important. Because if we can do this really helped elevate the statements that bit further and again it will help us down the stretch. It will be a lot more intimidating. A offense is coming in to play. The pittsburgh steelers runner tool says he was criminally held on virtually every play. An eagle actually light during that game. Yeah it was. That was ridiculous. That game there was some against the monitoring. The broncos is well. There was just this yet in front of the rates you off the time. I can't understand. It really revs me up so we talked to that. I think thaddeus setting the dead lawson rushing Controller clock exactly so when i looked at rushing yards allowed as well. It's on the flip side to cover the rush rushing. Offense needs to do battle fence but the russian The odds allowed will supreme for the pittsburgh steelers because that that puts that time pressure that puts the the sand you know flips that zand. And you've got to stop thinking about how you score points quickly. If you down now especially ben throws problem interceptions. Now i thought he was really good to say last year but you it in a playoff game when it doesn't look bright we saved. We sold that lost in the wild card round the browns. We sold that a few years ago with jacksonville jaguars. So last year. We had we allowed for hundred yards in ten. About seventeen games conclude. That wild card game will not doesn't include the two games of eighty shots in twenty twenty one. I'll goldens debate. Only eight games over one hundred and four of those one hundred twenty five now. There was like four or five over one hundred fifty yards in two thousand twenty. So we need to tighten that rush defense as well because that's difficult proposition when you playing games against the baltimore ravens right. And they've only gotten better in the run game with the acquisition of ben mason's fullback right now on the voice mocking grim Lama re back. You vote like of course in bed back with a vengeance to prove himself you get. Jk dobbins In the couple of other guys. While you got gus edwards still there. They were wide receivers that they can get into the sweet games. And what have you guys like. Mark andrews is well today going to be really interesting equally. Invoking brings it up. You know bud. Dupree was great at defending the run. And i think when you look at the photos of high smith in it sounds from what he's been doing not is. He's coming in to help with that run Says really interesting. I think. Bush abortion williams. Bang back together and hopefully they can stay healthy. That will be really big. stalking around. i think is interesting. Paces with the corner that they can have an. I mean secure brown could be quite an upgraded like hilton as well So that could be really really interesting from that perspective but What was going say was. Yeah that that rush defense. We really need know allowing only four for four games around twenty yards. And not. Just the ravens. It's the browns as well. The browns of shaaban hunt. How do we control those guys ottoman mocking. We're talking a couple of weeks ago about. I have seen those plays in the challenge that they all that was one thing. We are really focused on and we talked about because it is such challenge ties at defense. And that's why having a number of good inside dhaka's is really important so it's fantastic that we broke back the be a chief of shape. It's getting bush. Back having spelane embody johnson as you. Backups they're having marcus allen. I'm not be fan amoxicillin. But if he's going to be around he's got some spayed and he can fuller those guys as well. He's spayed for one background so say for secondary play so i think this is a really exciting one for the steelers you know. They can do the season but that has to be fixed because that will allow small-time on the clock to do what we need to do to not be forced into making hard decisions..

Basically, so, yeah, talking about Talking about what? How he how he will fit in at the Ravens, and I think I can get I mean, he's gonna be blocked his butt off. He's gonna be knocking people into the dirt, and he'll be leading Lamarr Woodley as well as the other running backs. In in in that system, and congratulations to Ben Mason on being drafted by the Baltimore Ravens. You're listening to the end zone. 734 1918 50 phone lines are open and what we're talking about. Didn't draft go. For your team, your favorite team. If it's Detroit Lions, I already gave that team in a bikini. Uh, since we had John Hardball, and I'll tell you what I got. I got Baltimore. I gave them an A and what they were trying to do. They did. They did go out there and they did something nice. They did something good. I think. 7349 and 18 50. Let's go to the phones. Let's go now. Hurley in the Grand Canyon. What's up, Harley? Oh, guys. Hope we had a good weekend and enjoying the draft. Did you guys watch all three days? Yes, yeah. Yes. Oh, you guys are devoted well course you're in sports you do with sports shows like I can understand that I turned it off after the first round, and that was it. I'll just catch up on Twitter and everything else to find out who got one but also in regards to drafted you guys. Put your arm between NFL network ESPN and ABC or just stick to one channel. I was we'd watch all 300 round. You know one thing. Hadley is that You had the Tigers were playing the Yankees, and then you had the draft going on. And then you had the Kentucky Derby that was going to go off a little bit before seven o'clock, But amidst all of that, that was going on with the draft. He had the room are the I guess they're rumors about Aaron Rodgers want not a green bay So now in between the picks they're talking about, you know? There's a 95% chance that he's gone and all those guys are weighing in and like, so it went from Yeah, He's a little disgruntled, too. He's wants out threw away. The Raiders are going to send three draft picks and Darren Waller and And David and car Yes to Green Bay. So Yeah. I mean, it was pretty electric Saturday. Even though you're getting into those rounds, 456 and you know the lions were done after they moved up and everything. All right. So did you guys pretty much evenly watch all three channels in I work mostly from ESPN, but I flipped around to see him all I like. I like Rich Eisen running the show. I think he does a great job when it comes down to that. Watch them every day. I watched all the game day, guys see what they had to say. They're familiar with the kids more. I listened to mail. And Todd Todd, Todd Todd and Listen to that. So Other than that, and then rich Eisen love Rich Eisen. So had check out my God. Average eyes. And if I could get the NFL network I definitely could have watched gonna watch that, too. But I know you guys don't really Decide who does best job in your opinion between those three channels. Who do you think this the most complete job on the draft, but depends on here. ESPN in my in my judgment was ESPN. They knew a lot more about the players. They broke down. You had Mel and Todd going after one another. Um, like, uh, actually better than now, And I like really blue. Sprint doesn't really get in the way I run beings with Daniel Jeremiah. I would take the NFL network over all of them. Just like the the what? Well, ESPN has been been doing it for years. So I look forward to that. I did miss. I did Miss Christa Boomer myself. I did miss him. I wanted him to come on. Make it make a guest guest free. Um Interest, but he didn't but that's okay. But I stay with ESPN mostly. But I did go Tol. I did go to go see the game day set up, which was Desmond. And what wasn't listening. I can think of Herb Street and, uh and then they had over over under. On the other side. They had Jesse Palmer and Scot Pollard, too. All right. And then when you guys are watching the draft and stuff, and this came up during on Twitter, too, But don't you think with team that gets the very first pick, you know, with all the hoopla and everything, Of course, the thing didn't get really started to about 15 20 after the hour and then on top of that they give the first team 10 minutes to make a decision. They've already made their decision. I think what should happen is that do the popping circumstance for 5 10 minutes and then get the commission on say, sewn. So you're on the clock. You're going that thing. You know that first pick and everything wasn't done. Thomas. 30. Ridiculous. What do you guys think? Yeah, well, one thing Hadley is is that you go through all of sports and games should start right at the top of the hour. They shouldn't put so many commercials in there, but everybody's trying to get paid. Everybody knows that. They get great ratings in there, So I wanna soak that thing. But I would think you know to your point here. The thing didn't get over to close to midnight. If he spent it up a little bit. You could have got it. You know, closer to 11 o'clock, which I thank you, and I had a lot more eyeballs on it. So you know, using the 10 minutes I thought the lion should have used their full allotment of time in case somebody called up and wanted to give him a godfather. Type situation, you know, given three number ones to move up there if there was a small complain about them, But yeah, those things do you know that happens. You know you get in you watching NBA game just started a clock to get in. It's not starting till 10 after you like, what the heck? So I don't think the first pick came off. So 23. After which was way too long to your point. It was supposed to go at 12. It was supposed to go off it at eight o'clock, but they also had to put in the Cleveland flavor, which that's where the right Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Woz, so they wanted to make sure the band's got representative and everything like that. So they gave themselves 20 minutes trying to start trying to start things. I agree, Hadley. They could do away with it. They should have that the first round night over by 11. O'clock is dinner, said. I agree with that fully and if it's the first pick everybody knows who the first pick is gonna be so they should start when they start. They should say. Commissioner should announce who the first round pick is not 10 minutes. You got it right now. Give it to me so I could tell everybody and we get this thing Get this party started right?.

"And they have They have devante from the 2022 class. A Z, uh, the defensive tackle. The coup. But obviously you need more immediate see as far as that's concerned, so I am curious to see mean We're a little late in the game. Go out and get a guy like that. But to me that would because I feel like they've got so many defensive end. They have a lot of defensive tackles and your prototypical nose tackle. But get you know, at the same time if they don't have that, considering that Mike McDonald stop developing multiple and it seems like they are being very multiple. That you know you could. You know, you could see probably a shift to the 34 a little bit more down the road. Maybe they kind of keep the status quo a little bit more as far as You know, personnel's kind of dictates that that's what they would do. So I'm curious to see how that ends up working this year. Because you don't have to necessarily say all right. We're going to a 34 specifically, especially considering they've said, like we want to do. You know, 34 we want to do for three. We want to do multiple different things. That you know, you don't necessarily have to say. Yep. We're just going to go with this one particular type of scheme and we're sticking with it right now, because the personnel doesn't seem to dictate that That would be the best way to go with the moment. No, You're right. I said, I mean, look, they are gonna be they did say Mike McDonald did say we're gonna be multi facets. So you're right. But I think where we're getting That that information from his. He's comfortable with the 43. That's what they ran at the Ravens and like we said, the linebackers are like you said. The line back is a very important to that defense. So they're gonna They're gonna want some of these linebackers, maybe a barrette. Somebody's got to step up and do and and make things happen so Josh Ross or Michael Barrett or something like that, but idea. I gotta ask you. I mean, okay, um That's a linebacker's number, Not number 10 number number nine other titans I'm okay with that number eight are the corners that kind of alarms me a little bit. And then you got you got you got special teams that number six. I mean, special teams that number six. What I mean. I know that I know that Quint Nordine is gone as is well heart, but Jake Moody and and bread Robbins. I mean, it's their show now, right? So is that what you're giving them the because they're upperclassmen? I'm giving it to them because even though we've seen Jake Moody has some struggles in the last year and a half or so. We've seen him be consistent at some point in time, and I just kind of feel like it. Maybe it's the opposite of the jazz rocks question here where I'm like we've seen and be consistent, but Not necessarily lately. Maybe I'm giving more benefit of the doubt to Jake Moody in that light because I feel like You know when I look at like the Minnesota game you missed missed a few. But he wasn't really expected to be the guy that you know. Like Quinn or Dean and warmed up. He wasn't able to go because of injury. So it was one of those things where I think maybe he was kind of caught off guard. I think it'll be a little bit different now that he's not splitting reps and competition that he'll he'll be the guy, you know. So That's one half of the equation and the other half is Brad Robbins, whose bed really fantastic. For the most part in his entire career. Hey, supplanted will heart twice And you know Well, hard obviously had a really good 2018 was one of the best players in the country. What kind of reverted back to what? He was in 2017 Sorry. Be landed on me. I'm sitting outside here. Um, but, uh But in 2020 17, you know, he got the planted and weak Ford and Brad Robinson. Look back with him. He had that injury in 2018 that kept him out for the entire year. And then you You solved once he was back, Finally 2020 and everything like that. It just It seemed like that Brad Robin's re cemented himself is that main dude? So I have no kind of note question about his bonus fetus in that light. So I'm curious to see Jake Moody is able to step his game up. Now there's not splitting time that he's getting all the reps and all of that kind of stuff. Not to mention just in general like Didn't even factor in, like, kick returning because I feel like even without Giles Jackson. They have so many really good options. Even if we haven't seen them, you know, kind of like going into 2018. You knew they had an MRI Thomas back there. And you felt good about it. I think that no matter if they put you know Blake, Oh, Roman, Roman Wilson or AJ, Heading whoever they go with as a kicker, punt returner. You feel like they've got a lot of elusive options that could Really helped them out. Otherwise, I mean, it's a question mark in general, and I know I write them, you know, like they're kind of in the middle, but at the same time No. The reason why it's a question Mark, you know, and on a yearly basis in general is because you're going to plug in a lot of freshman types into Ah, lot of the just kind of gunners and you know that those types of Guys that are on special teams is not just kicking and punching, and it always seems like they're pretty much ready to go. It's it's been a general strength like Yeah, it's had its moments where it hasn't been great. For the most part, special teams is gonna general strength for for Michigan. Whether it was Chris Parker Jam J. Harba, overseeing the position or even last year wasn't quite a full school on strength. There were moments where it wasn't great, but it was probably still out of three units Offense defense special teams. Saltines with easily the best of the three consistently throughout the year last year, so I kind of just feel like it's Ah, it's a group that is Probably going to continue to look pretty good for the most part, and you know that, obviously losing some some guys that have been, you know, on teams for a while. Guys that have been a part of it pretty regularly like Ben Mason or Adam Shipley Adam the key under Reynolds. All those guys have moved on, but it's kind of a plug and play situation. I feel like they'll be fine there. Yeah. Impressive concentration with the bee buzzing the tower there yet, miss a beat, You know, with talking about everything. I like that..

"You rate the other one. Michael Carter potentially moved by Williams with the game that he had today. Possibly depends on what you need. If you're looking for two or three down back, you know, in 1st and 2nd down given to Williams is more of your between the tackles guy Michael Carter. I think it's really more of a change of pace. At the next level, so depending on what you're looking for, But you know, these are two very talented running backs that unfortunately where they where they hurt in my book, Jody was the Notre Dame game. Notre Dame Just shut down, both of you. Guys, and so I thought that really hurt Johnson Williams a little bit more than Carter, but hey, Carter's got himself a little fan club after this week. I throw one more more guy into the mix. It's the Matrix Felton from U C L A. We saw Antonio Gibson go down to the Senior Bowl a year ago. Kind of that hybrid wide receiver running back even Tony Pollard before Antonio Gibson. And now the Demetrick Felton from U C l A. I think he made himself some money. Ah, guy that may have went from day three today, too. And I don't know. I'm thinking maybe he could play with him back, but he might be best suited as a slot receiver. Now another running back. I want to ask you about and running back is kind of a even a bit of a reach. They highlighted among the broadcast. I had remembered seeing him play this year but wasn't necessarily all that excited that because He just wasn't handed the football hall that much. But Ben Mason, the fullback from Michigan, who they said two years running has been voted the toughest guy in Michigan Steam that one play that they highlighted today where he just picked up a guy and drove him back to into the ground that he was probably given 25 or £30, too. I know you got him rank this year number one fullback in the draft, but Not every international football League uses a fullback even has full backs on their roster. How much is that going to hurt Mason? Or is the team going to say if we've got a kid like this? Maybe we can tinker with our offense and find a way to use a fullback. I'm all about making the fullback position. Great again. Jodie and Ben Mason, is it? I mean, this guy's a rhino. Remember, Henry? My nasty This is who he reminds me of. He's just the mauler. He's gonna be Clete yet. He can get you the tough yardage down on the goal line. He could even be a capable pass catcher Ben Mason, I think really has positioned himself now to hear his name called And Guess what? I don't care if half the league doesn't use a pullback, Ben Basin and getting drafted and I think In a little bit of a resurgence here in the last couple of years. I think more and more teams are now starting to get back. Having a fullback, and I'd like to see that. And if that happens, it will be, um I'm with you. I'm old school, so a pullback would excite me. It just seems too many of the teams. They're so past happy, but he can catch the ball out of the backfield. Last thing for you, Ricky. We've talked too heavily on offense. We usually do when you and I get together, but the best defense sieve front seven guy. This week. Was there anybody who stuck out for you either as a guy who can get up the field and get to the quarterback or just a tackling machine. You know this Osa a digger easy from juicy l. A. I think he really made himself some money. He's gonna try to be a top 50 selection and then also Levi on loser Ricky, who actually got injured during the week? I don't think he played in the game, but he was creating a buzz for himself earlier on in the week, and we'll probably go. In that late first early second round, Ricky Great stuff. Appreciate it whenever you come on, you know, we're gonna have you on plenty between now and the draft. Thanks. My meth. Enjoy the birthday, Mac man. Appreciate it. Rick Sarah tell here with a sign CBS portrayed. Alright, quaking time out Coming. We'll get more on the.

"Every night about this time to give you a little something, something that could be a rant or could be a rave, But it's always something good that we like to call. Freddie and fit. Seven's the last word. Alright brother Ian Fitzsimmons on this late Tuesday early Wednesday. What is your last word? Before I even get to it. What do I go with you after the show? Four versus Ferrari Kill Bill Volume one Ford versus Ferrari. Better movie. Very underrated movie. Yeah, and two story. Yes, definitely. Based on a true story. There's a lot of truth in that movie. I'm like Kill Bill. Volume one buying 2 30 0. Truth kill Bill. I know that, but Anyway. A look with no NFL combine and this is something Albert Breer told us about last week from Monday morning quarterbacking outside I come. This is something now that the senior Bowl which is going on right now. The actual game on Saturday. It's great for fans. But when it comes to evaluating talent And the Senior Bowl right now, this week to NFL executives and scouts and Position coaches. This Is it talking to two different coordinators in the NFL today, Freddy when you and I spoke earlier They both text me back sand. This week is so much more important because we can't get the same time at the combine. So I mean, I mean, watching Ben Mason against tough Borland and Titan. But can we please stop bullets not to have his head about Bob up and down when he's chasing somebody. They were way too late for that, my friend. Yeah. I mean, that's when you're really struggling, but anyway Thies air kind of matchups where every NFL scout is looking at and evaluating to the EMP degree Now because of the combine not being there this year, so If your die hard NFL in college football fan, your two worlds have collided and this is not a combine. This is the most important week for your NFL team and your scouts and your coaches to be evaluating town..
