Everybody gathered around. Grab Chair grab a beer. Let's talk some true crime. So thanks to Taylor Beales online post. Investigators knew that Taylor and Ben Fawley had passed and continue to talk online and possibly even see each other but the more troubling thing. Here captain is Ben. Fawley online claims to be an ex CON which absolutely turns out to be true. So what did this Do Burger do. Well he had some charges for assault and breaking and entering and I think it goes even beyond that one thing that I find. Extra troubling here is statements. We have from some of her friends. The say that Taylor had gotten into this habit of parking her car on Ben Fawley Street on the street that he lived on because there were no parking meters there for her to worry about. So what I'm getting at here with this captain is we have this situation where there seems to be some kind of friendship between the two. It looks to me like Ben. Fawley thinks that it is. The friendship is one thing that it is not and then we also have the situation of heat. He's got a violent past a history of violence and he also probably could know when she's coming and going because he could visually see her vehicle parked on his street. Well yeah and again the ruse of our some photos for you and and we know that he's involved in these odd pornographic sites well in regardless of whatever. Their relationship was or their friendship. I should say friendship because relationship makes it sound like something that was not regardless of what their friendship was. The the thing is her friends that knew about folly. All really say hey. I think she was starting to realize that Ben Folly was more screwed up than she really wanted to deal with but again it appears that they may still have been hanging out. Now when questioned by police about this friendship with Taylor Ben. Fawley said that he had no idea where she was and he was worried about our. He said the last time he saw her was around nine thirty pm on that Monday night when she left his apartment after they he said after they hooked up. Police didn't believe him and fact they named him as one of several persons of interest in the case on October third but the problem was ben folly maintained that he had an alibi before Taylor had even been reported missing. Ben Fawley went to the police station and filed a report alleging that he had been assaulted on the street by several guys. The timeframe he cited for the attack was around five. Am on September six. This occurred in an alley near Franklin Street and Monument Avenue Folly alleged that he was hit with an unknown object in a bag placed over his head and then he was thrown in a car and driven around by several men before being released on a dirt road and he had to hitch a ride home and they do have evidence of this. We have the person that he hits ride from saying. You know cooperating. The story to eat markings on his individual. Well so police looked carefully at this claim. Trying to determine like you said captain whether this was true or not the problem is if it is true that it seems very likely that folly could not have been responsible for abducting Taylor folly filed this report around four. Pm on Tuesday. He made vague references to the attack. Likely being a result of a long running altercation with with an axe or another photographer over rights to some photographs which seems a little loosey. Goosey to me while you know those photographers they like to. There are bad bunch they they they have a gang of people. And they're gonNA abduct you place a bag over your head and hit you with objects. The police officer whose name appears on the incident report did note that folly admitted that he was extremely. He says he was extremely intoxicated. When the alleged attack took place he also said that he took medication for bipolar disorder. Now Okay and let's let's dive into that real quick because most of the the medication that you would be on for bipolar or not things that you would one want to drink on but they could also cause you death if you do drink on those medications again though you are. A- level individual who makes good decisions. We once again find ourselves discussing a guy who does not make good decisions. I would be taken this Report as officer and when I would say officer's name I'd put silly goose so the thing that I have trouble with here I don't know really why this would be considered any type of alibi because folly says it. He lasts all Taylor if we are to believe him at nine thirty PM and then maintain that the attack happened at five. Am right hours hours later. Seems to me like you had plenty of time to a doctor kill or do whatever during that that timeframe bought and we have footage of her leaving her dorm but they're going to find footage of him outside her dorm room Yeah so but again. He's not denying that they hung out that night. Well and the thing is I think what we have here is really kind of front. A bit of a tactic by police. We saw how smart they were with the vehicle situation. Valence vehicle. Yeah I think they thought. Hey this Ben Fawley. He's pretty dumb. He's pretty stupid. We had a meeting all right all of us. Investigators and police officers we got together and we took a vote and we decided this guy's a real idiot. So here's how the meeting went a raise your hand if you think this guy is a dumb ass and nineteen hands went up and then one guy was just kind of sitting there playing on his phone he he wasn't paying attention now. One Guy was one guy was like but I really like his van. I saw it on the news. Pretty Cool So I think they all kind of agreed. This guy's an idiot and they're like publicly let's go out and say hey we we understand. He's somebody that we're interested in. We understand that there was some kind of friendship going on. But we have to clear we have to figure this whole. He was allegedly attacked situation. Out We have to figure out if he actually has an alibi or not make him think that you're kind of falling for right And see if he does something dumb because this guy has nothing but a history of thirty some years of doing dumb things. So he may. He may give you whatever you need. He may give you that smoking gun so you can figure out what he is actually been up to because even though we have them on record saying that. I don't believe that they were falling for anything that he was saying. And I also like you said. Where's the evidence of this do? Where's the person that gave you the ride home yet? I'm trying to see where you're going with this guy and my timeline. I know what cops do next but I'm wondering if I'm missing something. Well I really think that it was just a to me. It looks just like a front that they were putting on at the time. I think behind closed doors. They didn't think anything of this alleged attack other than it was a false alibi that it was something that he created to explain away a big window of time that he needs to be accounted for What seems like our thoughts about their investigation. Captain are correct. I mean they seem to be suspicious folly and this did not come out until later but what we do know took place that police did review that security cameras surveillance footage from Taylor's dorm on the last night that she was seeing and asked said she seen entering the building around ten twenty pm. She walks through the lobby to the doors on the right hand side of the frame presumably to head up to her room but someone else then enters the lobby at ten twenty one and paces around for a few minutes clearly waiting for someone. And who is this person? Data Ben Fawley Boehner sniffer so his statement of Hey. I last saw her in the nine o'clock hour can't be true. You followed her in. We have video surveillance footage of you following her into the lobby of her residence at ten. Twenty in the ten o'clock hour right in that she's GonNa come back out to hang out with them so again we know he's lying about the timeframe or dismiss remembering but it's almost like he knew that he was caught on tape so he has to omit that he was hanging out with her that night. I don't understand this whole I was attacked and that set in alibi but the timeframe would be early morning hours and not around that ten PM to twelve PM window but I think where he really messed up is when he was telling the cops well and we hooked up that night. Now we have her friends saying yes. They were intimate before but she didn't want to do that again. That's not to say that she wouldn't of been intimate with them again. I mean we. We have proof that she was intimate with him before so I would actually argue that that would mean there's more of a possibility just because she told her friends that she didn't want to do it again but that leads to please to go. Well she's seventeen and this is going to be enough for us to get a search warrant to search his apartment while you are exactly right because what's going on here. I believe re reading between the lines. I think that police had an idea that folly was with her at a time that he did not give to them. I think they knew that for a while I think there are. They are trying to figure out what else was he involved in and I also think that just because they didn't ask him about that ten o'clock hour he may be unaware of the security camera footage that he was seen on camera. They were seen on camera together at ten twenty four and then they both leave their joint. Departure is not actually caught on camera but neither of them are seen on camera again so we can assume that they left together while here. Here's why say not? Not Maybe the footage that the cops actually had. But here's this guy that's been around campus long enough to know. The campus is heavily secure. There's tons of security cameras everywhere so knowing that you met her on campus you could just assume that at some point they have you on video foot bright and maybe nine thirty thing is it his way of trying to explain that away right but also by sane knowing that you met her on campus. This is why you have to tell the police while I was with her that night for a little bit we hooked up and then she left and I don't know what happened to her. So the security surveillance footage plus the fact that he willingly tells police we hooked up. She's underage. This is enough to allow officers to obtain a search warrant for Ben Follies apartment which was located at four zero seven Hancock Street on September sixteenth. They went in and searched this apartment and the search warrant. Must have included. You know you have to specifically state what you are seeking in this war. A must've included electronic devices. Because we know that police left carrying some computers after this I search and what they found on those computers lead to the arrest of Ben Fawley on September. Twenty third. Captain would you like to do the honors and inform us as to what was found on these computers? Well what's interesting is. I don't think it's just on the computers. I think maybe also on diskin things like that. There was a lot of child pornography. He tries to explain that away by Saint. Some of this was laughed by the tenant before me. I didn't even know it was there. But that connects plane away the child pornography that was actually found on the hard drives and they had multiple computers with extremely large amounts of hard drive space. I mean especially for that time. Two thousand five. That's right there so there wasn't really anything on the computers linking folly directly to Taylor's disappearance although there were those pictures of her that we discussed hundreds of pictures of her yeah and hundreds of pictures of images of child pornography. Well on not just what bribed but the media release. Yeah I mean not just that but also just tons of Berry. I don't know what the creek term would be. You have pornography and then you have this more like this demotic pornography. Okay so this next bits going to the next ninety seconds might get a little difficult to listen to. But here's what I have in my notes. Okay so police said they discovered a massive quote a massive amount of extremely graphic child pornography featuring children as young as three and four years old being raped by some reports as many as seven computers loaded with pornography were confiscated from the apartment according to the Richmond Times dispatch senior assistant. Commonwealth's Attorney Mike Jag oils. Later told judge Kimberly O'Donnell that there were as many as thirty movie files discovered on computers. That were removed from follies apartment. Some depicting acts with minors as young as one. This is this just tough to even read minors young as one or two years old and others featuring individuals ten to fourteen years old folly of course maintain that the computers were not his as you pointed out. He says they belong to a former resident of the apartment. No one was buying this load crap that he was trying to shovel Robert. This just proves how this guy's story changes constantly. He's always has some excuse for things and so that's when you really know that. Most likely whatever happened to her was at the hands of this individual so like we said this results in his arrest and also results in a second more comprehensive search of his apartment while that. But here's what's Great. We can put him in for these charges and then because of these charges we can go back and look for more evidence we can build our case and know exactly where he is and hold him and he can't do anything to get rid of evidence in the process so the things that they were looking for in the second search many of the items that were listed on the search warrant included things that would belong to Taylor. You know her clothing her her jeans. Black Hoodie sneakers. Black Watch bracelets Saint Francis Necklace student. Id Nokia Cell Phone and car keys. All of that's listed on the war also listed. Were skateboards sometimes. You WanNa put a generic term out there so you can take any skateboard that you find burglary tools. This would probably go back to his previous convictions. There are also looking for knives hammers shovels and pry bars. And then I found this to be strangers. Always something strange listed on these search warrants on here we have the ever suspicious pepperidge farm cookie boxes but yeah I couldn't figure out I have no idea why this would be on the warrant. The cops were hungry. I don't know if they had reason to believe that she would have had one of these cookie boxes in her possession at the time that she went missing and maybe that then they can go. Okay is it might be coincidence. But it also might be a sign that she was here right later that night. I don't have a complete look. Incomplete list of what was found in the apartment. But here's what we do know was taken out of the house. Pursuant to the search warrants women's white underwear a laptop computer a Macintosh computer a digital camera sex toys including dildos and spiked bracelets a knife. Two bags of clothes from a garbage can outside of the house a beaded necklace with a cross from this was removed from the garbage as well. A bicycle chain necklace. A watch from the garbage can a thirty five millimeter camera. A box containing bones. He collected weird things like that where everybody has a right to have weird shit. Oh Yeah Yeah we we we. We all probably own some weird shit rolls of film. I mean we probably don't have a bunch of dildos lane around A black brawl a machete. Cigarette BUTTS A prescription bottle skateboards they did find skateboards yearbook a hatchet. A hammer a pry bar a thirty two caliber cartridge and a partridge in a pear tree. I mean it just goes on and on and on the one thing. That was rather interesting of note here captain. Police also removed a section from a box spring that was stained with some kind of Reddish Brown substance they did include and executed a warrant for follies hair and DNA samples. Not Found Taylor cell phone that they were looking for her college. Id Her car keys again. Anything linking Fawley Ben Fawley directly to Taylor's disappearance does not seem to have been found just on the child porn possession alone police had enough to charge folly with a felony. And as you said hold him while they continue to build a case against him regarding Taylor's disappearance and they also charged him with a possession of a firearm because remember he's a convicted felon. He's not legally permitted to be in possession of a gun but the their investigation takes pretty interesting. Turn as far as because you you collected all the stuff but but where do you go from that? I mean that none of this other than the child porn pornography. Can you charge him with or like you said the the gun possession charged so you can add that on top of things but well. They're going to go to the public for help okay. Because on October eleventh police announced that they were specifically interested in the sightings of the following items between the dates of September fifth and September seventeenth. They WANNA know. Had anybody seen a white Ford escort? That's remember that's the vehicle. Virginia License Plate J. P. C. Twenty eight forty eight and they asked the public to call in sightings of the vehicle and a description of whomever may have been driving the vehicle at the time. They wanted to know who had been driving. Taylor's car around Richmond. During that time that they can't figure out where it was they also wanted people to report any sightings of of Virginia personalized license plates G. R. N. E. R. T. age. This was a plate stolen from a vehicle around the time Taylor disappeared and police believed it might have been in follies possession and they also sought information about that. Ohio state license plate as well right. So what's interesting to me is while they need the public's help it seems like they have a general idea of what was going on. At the time he abducted he did something to Taylor and was moving her vehicle round during the time that it was unaccounted for and he may have been switching out the plates multiple times along the way right. Because if you know this girl's missing you you see work kind of car. She has. How many people saw that car looked at the license plates and went while? That's not her car. Yeah yeah it also came out around the same time? The media reported that folly used his credit card to buy gas in new Kent County between Mathews County and Richmond on the night. That Taylor disappeared. So this really kind of to me would suggest that his later claimed that he was attacked. There doesn't seem to be any time left for that to actually have taken place. It's the old jussie. Smollet jumped farce. We got going on there. Meanwhile Taylor's family lawyer cleaned out Taylor's dorm room taking all of her possessions back to her hometown of Vienna and they stayed at Taylor's family basically stated even if she is found alive she's not going to be returning to vcu at this time. There's too much going on here and 'cause at this point you have to believe that she's -ducted and so if you do find her alive. There's no way that you're GonNa want her parents for her to be around that facility to have any of those bad memories well. Things are looking very very bleak by this time and now they're really honing in on folly and he's locked up and they can start. They WanNa start going through his social circles. Now we're going to publicly asked the public for help but we're going to get into his social circles and ask these people for help and one of the people that they come across. Is this young woman named Aaron who was also a VC use student and somewhat of a friend or acquaintance of Taylor's an oddly kind of looks like she could be related to tailor definitely. Looks like Taylor's mother like there's a lot of similarities there and she's a little older than Taylor She's twenty three at the time. Apparently she dated Ben Fawley for some time. I guess they only dated for a couple of months before Aaron broke up with him and she. She probably didn't WanNa come forward because of such an embarrassment that she dated this Douche in the first place well I think she was the one that the charges some of his previous convictions stemmed from so well. He had a history of these girls after a while. Yeah but oddly he would. He would start dating them and because let me take pictures of you. You're so beautiful. And he would make these girls feel like they're the best thing in the world but then that became all well now. I'm jealous of everybody else and I just love you so much. I'm jealous of everybody else and then become aggressive almost like self sabotaging the relationship like well. And here's the thing to captain going on. Now we've seen a lot of these types of cases anytime. Detectives think that we have somebody who needs to hide something that they never ever want anyone to find they start asking the people that know them best. Okay is there anywhere that he liked to camp or go fishing or go hunting. You know outdoor activities. What does he do and where does he go? They start talking to Aaron. They start showing her picture after picture from his. Pho- photography webpage because they need her to identify some of these locations. Here's picture tell us where you think this area is? Yeah who take pictures of girls and things like that but would also take pictures of old rundown sheds and you know just fields in in random items and locations so one photo that caught her eye. You know she's looking at photo after photo. Finally she sees one and she's like Holy Moly. This might be something here. This is a photo of an old abandoned house with like a Tin Lean to attached to it. The House was oddly enough located on her family farm. Which was about ninety miles away from Richmond in Mathews County right and I think he. She took there at some point. Maybe they've been shot. Shot those photos together well and remember we talked about folly purchasing gas with his credit card right out that night now all of a sudden this photo of an old abandoned house ninety miles away out in the middle of nowhere seems very important for all of our sakes. We might have might have had a few too many now. I love you man on October up right on October. Fifth Police headed out to the site. Where that photo was taken this accompanied by Aaron? They photo. Yeah and they're going to be searching this whole area and before too long. They identified a body any plastic bag in a ditch off the side of a wooded road. The remains were very decomposed but were wearing clothing. That was similar to what Taylor was wearing when she disappeared. Sure enough. The medical examiner soon identified the remains as Taylor beale based on dental records. One thing about this girl. That's helping out the police. There she goes out to our family's property. She doesn't know what she's GonNa find. They've they've find Taylor she that has thing about the relationship she had with this person. And how that possibly could have been her that'd be very traumatic experience. There are several theories as to why this area may have been chosen for the the dump site. The seem a little odd. Who knows what was going on in the mind of the person who placed her there so there. There's one theory that I do find this interesting. I don't think it has anything really to do with the case. But there's a thought that maybe Ben Fawley thought if he put her on errands family's property that maybe it would get confusing to investigators in Aaron. Could somehow be involved in Taylor's disappearance possibly we. We know he lies about everything. I think what likely happened is this is just unfortunately a place of popped into his mind when he thought of like we said earlier. Hey I got something. I don't want anybody to ever find and he thought this was a good place to put it well. They're going to go back with this information. This is basically now the cops have a loaded gun that they component him and he's going to start confessing to what he claims happened that night. Yeah and one thing that they will be equipped with when they go in to talk with. Fawley is they took some soil samples from the undercarriage of Taylor's vehicle and they were able to match those two soil samples taken from the area where the body was found so they are able to piece a lot of this together before they even talked to them. They where she was found. They have a general idea what happened to her being that she was either abducted or killed and then transported in her own vehicle out to that location and then we know the vehicle came back to the vcu campus area and was was placed there now or died in a manner that did not leave visible marks on her body so they were unable to determine the exact cause of death. There was no broken bones or obvious signs of death. Now Mind you. She rather decomposed at this time. Folly continued to deny that he had anything to do with this. But that's not going to last very long captain just like you pointed out because he will he will offer up some kind of confession well of sorts and this was against the recommendation of his attorney folly told investigators that on the night of September fifth. He and Taylor had driven out to a beach in the Mathews County area to Hook Up. He said he was very drunk and high at the time and was off his meds the two engaged in what he called rough sex and he said Taylor accidentally died according to him. The two had played a sex game and it was all Taylor's idea she wanted to try Roddick But backfired and when she died he panicked and dumped her body in that ravine although he tried to spin this off as some type of accident folly himself may have made mention of what he planned to do to Taylor in one journal entry by Skulls Sixty Seven and eight journal subtitled playing with fire. The trash of a crazy ex-con he wrote about his sexual conquests with partners referred to by their initials like an e. He also talked about someone with the initials. T and said that there was something he still wanted to try with her. This was before Taylor died. Taylor's mother was quick to dispute follies version of the events. Of course she says. Let's be clear. Ben Fawley murdered my daughter. She said in a news conference. His claim that it was accidental is just one more perversion of the truth and his changing web of allies that he claims that there they went out to this location. They're trying to hook up there in the back seat of the car that he was drunk in high in an office medication all that stuff they were trying to put a bag over her head during sex. That wasn't really working. 'cause she wanted a pass out this what he's claiming and so then. He took the bag off her head but then put it around her nose and mouth now once she stopped breathing. Here's a strange thing. As during his confession he doesn't dump the body that night doesn't he doesn't just go all. I got to get rid of her and take the car back. He claims that he comes back to Vcu with her body in the back seat and and that the cars parked there for a day or so then he drives back out to that. Same location than than than dumpster there But again this guy will lie about everything. Yeah and as you pointed out earlier. His story changes win. It needs to. He has an excuse. He has a story. He has an alibi until boom. You present them with facts with truthful evidence and facts that you know to be true and then he says well. Here's a different story for you. Bobby here's the thing. Though is he already has more and more charges. That are mounting against him. Yeah and what's difficult? Though for the Prosecution for the state captain is that we do have this while it does not seem likely it is a plausible defense of this was an accident and maybe he shouldn't be charged with murder. We also have the problem that we really have very little forensic evidence in this case at all So it's going to take a good amount of time. In fact it was not until January. Seventeenth of two thousand and six then a grand jury handed down an indictment of folly. This was for first degree murder. I would love. I would love to try this case. Once the Grand jury was told it was explained that the medical examiner could not have identified an exact cause of death because of the decomposition. Then we have an indictment that was amended to second degree murder. The death penalty obviously going to be off the table at this point now despite holes in their case prosecutors went full steam ahead preparing for a trial working with investigators. Trying build a circumstantial case to prove that Taylor was not the initiator of this so called sex game that she was not bondage or erotic fixation or really would not have consented to any of this crap and that that folly killed her and probably deliberately killed her. It was not an accident by any stretch of the imagination on his defense team saying well she was she wanted to try this because he had tons of pornography on his computer and showed her some different things and choose like. Aw like to try that yeah. That's what he claims but but it doesn't matter I mean the the idea that that Anybody female or male would be on trial for wanting to try something sexually sh. That's her right to that. Doesn't equal being murdered right? You know so. It doesn't matter how you slice. It doesn't matter if it was his idea or her idea. That does that should never equal murder. So what we have here. Captain is in August of two thousand six. The murder trial is about to begin. But what we get I man I so love this. We get a gift for the prosecution because folly opens his big mouth. That's right folly. Made the mistake of talking in his defense attorneys. Got Wind of this and a jailhouse conversation with an officer folly describing on set it up a little bit better because he is coming back to his cell. After after this There was a meeting And and basically this. This web allies that he's been casting. He claims that it's the ultimate chess. Move Right he says he's playing a chess game and really this story that he came up about Taylor's accidental. Death was really just that just a story designed to clear him to take the heat off of him. Explain away what happened. But it's not what actually happened and then we have a little bit more. Holy Okay because you you know this better than me. This is the part. That's kind of confused me because he makes a mission to This officer and then officer. Let's the defense team. No now they can't they can't represent that idea because they know it's a lie that right. No I think the thought here is. We have people that are going to testify that he was lying about the story right and and then we have this weird thing where he's writing letters from jail to a female friend. The prosecution gets a hold of these letters. They did not help follies case. I don't know exactly what was in these letters. But these were mentioned during this portion of the story. And what this leads to is by August ninth. We have folly consulting with his attorneys and they decide that folly should take an Alfred play for second degree murder and exchange for prosecutors dropping the child pornography charges out at the plea proceedings prosecutors and defense attorneys. Were able to present their cases to the judge whose job it is then to determine whether there was enough evidence to warrant folly taking such a plea the confession. His tapes of his confession or so-called confession were played in court and later transcripts were released to the media. More details about this confession came out and you went through quite a bit of that when you were telling us about what happened. One thing I've found weird was its sites that Taylor wanted to play a game that she called drunk monkey and again. It's it's almost. It seems a little silly to go through this confession when we know so much of it is just completely false and we can. We can say that based off of his plea off of his later plea where he accepts that he's going to be convicted of this. Yeah I mean and again I have some questions but I don't think it matters like what she alive when they went out to this location. I don't know did he. Did he bring did he? Actually bring the body back to bring Taylor back You know I don't think it matters. I think at the end of the day no matter what he states everything else again. He can still say he's still saying in prison. I'm not the cause of her death. She wanted to try something. It was an accident while we know that you told people. Hey I'm a genius. I came up with this excuse but everything else points to murder right this this happens. She blacks out. She stops breathing. You don't call nine one one. You then claim that you transport her body back to camp campus. Not Telling Anybody Die. Equals murder you then changed license plates. Multiple Times on that car that equals murder. You then lie to the cops about what happened. That equals murder. You then lie to everybody and tell her family almost braggadocious way while we hooked up that night. No you did it. You probably raped her. That equals murder you then constantly lie about everything and all these twists and turns and take not only the please but the family members of your victim on this wild ride. All that stuff equals murder and then you put her out in the middle of nowhere and her in. This is what her mom says for her body to be eaten by animals and bugs and insects. 'cause you don't have respect for human life you have respect for this young lady. This was not your friend because all that stuff equals murder while and unfortunately it seems like four Ben Fawley well for those around him anyway that he was ramping up to something like this probably for quite some time. Now I don't have those all those letters that he wrote to his friend while he's in jail but when hold on. First Ladies get better friends you who whose who. Who's the person communicating with this fuck? You know well. We do have a portion of one of those letters and this is going to be. What really is going to seal the deal here. And they read this allowed in the The plea proceedings. I believe that all of them all of these letters were read but the one that made its way to the media is this and this is directly from follies written letter to his friend. He says quote people don't like me they never do as a child. I had no friends. I was a bother in the way a problem so I spent most of my life alone. I never liked the thoughts in my head. People are right. Something's wrong with me. All the thoughts of killing and death in my head and now it's true. I've killed someone. These are his own words at the conclusion of the Alford Plea Hearing Judge William Shaw. The third found that there was substantial evidence that folly was guilty of murdering Taylor. Beal he sends folly to forty years with ten years suspended. Folly would serve thirty years. Taylor Beales case is famous because it is one of the first to be solved using the victims social media. Police were able to narrow down the suspect list very quickly because of her postings online Taylor funeral was held the day after her eighteenth birthday. Benjamin Fawley is scheduled to be released on November fourteenth. Two Thousand and thirty one. Let's just too soon. Janet Taylor's mother has published a book called Love. You more Taylor beale story and has become an outspoken advocate for victims. Taylor's friend Aaron Kraybill received a twenty thousand dollar reward for her assistance in locating Taylor with some of the reward money. She established a fund for Women in crisis. Everybody gathered around. Grab a chair grab a beer. Let's talk some true crime every parent feels torn when they send their child off to college torn between feeling excited for their son or daughter for the education and adventures that ahead and feeling anxious about their newly independent child safety choices and wellbeing for most parents the anxiety lessons as they see their son or daughter settling into college thriving making a new life but for one family. The parents worst fears came true. They're beautiful smarr beloved dot when off to college and never came home. How did this co ED disappear just two weeks into her first semester? This is true crime garage. And this is the case of Taylor. Beal Taylor beale was a seventeen year old girl. Who lived with her mom? Janet Pella Sahra in Vienna Virginia. Vienna is an upper middle class suburb of Washington. Dc with the small town feel despite its population of fifteen thousand people. Vienna was ranked third in money. Magazine's list of top one hundred places to live in two thousand and thirteen. Taylor was very close with her mother. And the two lived in various places around the world including London and Belgium with Janet's husband at the time Janet's husband was an officer in the Royal Air Force. Eventually settling back in Virginia. When Taylor was eleven Taylor was used to traveling of course and even flew alone internationally at the age of five this under the care of the airline. This is a a really unique kind of experience for a young child. I remember when I was ten. I flew by myself without parents without family is something I will always remember because it seemed like a really big deal to me at the time when I was just ten but one that smelly guy you sit next to. Of course I wasn't Flying internationally that would've been weird. My flight was like one hour long but it was really neat captain because they did like a special check in for me you know when they were boarding the plane. I got to get on the plane early and the flight attendant. Introduce me to the pilot or some guy pretending to be the pilot and it was cleaning the plane and then they sat me right in the front row so they could keep an eye on me. I guess but Taylor was close to her mother. That's like an understatement. But she was also close with her father matt even though her parents divorced before she even turned two years old. Haley graduated from James Madison High School in Vienna the Fifteenth School. She had attended in her life. That shows you how much she moved around at. Just a young age and one of the colleges she was interested in was Virginia Commonwealth University known as vcu which is a Great College Basketball Program The vcu Rams shoutout to the Rowdy. Rams vcu is located on the west side of Richmond. Virginia and the school focuses on biotech and life. Sciences Taylor visited. Vcu twice in the spring of her senior year in high school one visit was in February of two thousand and five with her father matt when the two of them made their two hour drive to check out the campus. Matt dropped Taylor off at the apartment of a friend of hers from the Anna so she could experience a little campus life. Vcu This was the apartment of classmen. Mike Sinoe and his roommate. Ben Fawley tailor made a second visit to the same place in April of that same year. Now she must've liked vcu because she enrolled in the large school of thirty one thousand students and started her freshman year on nineteenth. Two thousand five. Her departure for college was hard on. Taylor's Mom Janet even though she was only two hours away. This was very difficult for for Janet. As I said they were very tight even would give the appearance of almost best friends at times one. She was the only daughter so they had a pretty strong bond. Because of that only child and Janet says that Taylor was not the only you know. She's not one of these teens. Who wants nothing to do with her parents and fact she would still hold hands with her mom when they went places together the two of them even volunteered as elves every Christmas for a local charity and spent a lot of time together while Janet was nervous about her daughter heading off to college in the large city of Richmond. Virginia of course. She knew that it was the best thing for Taylor. Vcu Is a good school and Taylor was very excited for the next chapter in her young life Taylor has been described in articles about her as quite mature for her age. She was working at starbucks and choosing to hang out at Jamming Java Coffeehouse Sipping Cappuccino and listening to local indie bands. That sounds like something. The captain would have been caught doing in his when he was just sixteen years old. I don't know about indie bands. But didn't you go to the coffee shop? Yeah I think. A lot of kids went to coffee ideas. I did his well. I didn't go there to listen to the the latest now. I don't remember any chance at at the coffee shop we had. I went there in just kinda sat around. Yeah picked our nose right drink in Sipping Cappuccino friend of mine used to just say hey. That's just three dollar coffee so she never missed a curfew. This was a good kid. She didn't do drugs or drink. She was savvy and smart so Janet took comfort that her daughter would make good choices even not under her roof. Taylor was very. She was in a very avid user of social media. Keep in mind. This is two thousand and five so social media looked quite different than it does today. Yeah facebook wasn't probably even envy you yet. Well the platforms. That she was using to post her daily musings and blog and about her life were a little dated to say the least. She used my space. Her photo is still visible on there. If you can even get there. I don't know how one would get their She used an Internet meeting. Site called my place dot com and used a site called live journal as well. My space was like pre facebook. It was the facebook before the facebook became the facebook but is also it was wildly popular to your different than facebook because you could actually create a page. Change the colors. It was weird because I was a big myspace user and when facebook came around it became will. Why are we going to this? Other thing that gives us less options like there was more fun things to do. And you could customize You're you're my space a lot more. Yeah I remember that being a weird time too because it was like there was nothing wrong with my space but somehow we transition to facebook. We're going to bring them back. Will burn back by. We're starting with the garage on my place dot Com. We're talking about her. Social media she wrote under the name bidder her online post and photo show that she was a little naive. I don't know much about this site. So do you know what the site is about my my well? It looks like it. Looks like she's almost journaling on some of these things and I took quite a bit of time in read through them and it was a little sad and tragic just even reading through them because they still exist to this day. And you know you really get the vibe of who she is and what she was into but also reminding yourself that she's seventeen at this time. Well that's like the coffee shop thing. That's a very young typical young quote unquote like college thing to do. Let's go get some. Cappuccino listened to some singer Songwriter. Music like and so. Yeah being seventeen and going to school early. You're probably going to do a bunch of things that are very cliche. Well and we can get into her social media little bit to give you a little flavor of what was going on. In fact here is a post. She wrote an early summer of two thousand and five assist quote. I just graduated from High School and now I'm off to Richmond. I'm looking forward to meeting people that are in Richmond because I only know a few people down there but I love to meet New People in general so feel free to message me whenever to chat. That's kind of like an open invitation to That's something that we probably would steer away from but She's outgoing and Taylor had a relationship of sorts. That was going on. At the time. In fact she detailed that on her online journal talking about her budding relationship with a fellow. Vcu student this is a boy named Jacob Cunningham. She the love that he was into the same things right. He didn't drink. He didn't do drugs but the two it seems like they were off to somewhat of a of Ro Rob's start Taylor's roommate. Emma says that between Taylor Jakup weren't going the way Taylor wanted and another friend of that jakup had dumped her online and Taylor was upset about. That's very mature of him. Going to break up with you online But this kind of weird. Because she's UH school that long so she did she start dating this individual before she left her school. It looks to me like as soon as she. You know mind you February and April. She's already making trips out the Vcu to see if she's going to like Vcu and and to see if she actually wants to attend right Vcu. It seems to me like as soon as she has decided on that college that she's openly on social media sending out invites to chat with people and get to know people in the area so once she arrived she's GonNa hit the ground running and already have a little bit of a solid base of friends going on. Yeah and my my college and I know not every college but the college I went to did a a bunch of this like freshman week of to know people and get into getting familiar with the college but that's now is a small college. This is a lot bigger than they might not have programs like that That would be very difficult yet. It's only two hours away but you're also a little bit younger than everybody and so get in that community around here would be definitely important. What's interesting to me is is. It seems like we talked about her moving around a lot as a younger child. She's already kind of adapted to this. You know she's already figured out how to set up shop in a new town and new city new state sometimes new country then like you said fifteen times fifteen different schools. This would be should be an expert at this and as you said captain. She's only at school for a very brief time before things start to go weird right so on Labor Day weekend. Two thousand five. When Taylor had been at school for just two weeks she met up with some guys on Saturday night to go skateboarding. According to one of these guys his name is Kevin. The group boarded for an hour around two forty five. Am So early morning. That's what I call the small hours. Kevin had only met Taylor three or four times but described her as a normal girl who was very trusting. Kevin said that Taylor was heading home to Vienna the next day to spend some time with her mom. This was correct after spending Sunday and most of Monday at home. Taylor returned to campus on Monday afternoon. She called her father at six forty five to say she was back safely on campus and she had dinner with the guy that she was sort of dating his name again. Jacob but this was a normal dinner they. They met To discuss their relationship. Apparently yes they. They made up and had a nice dinner at the village. Cafe Liebau he was like make. It wasn't makeup and we're GONNA be boyfriend girlfriend. I think it was. This is going to end. Am I correct on that? Well there are some differing zipper relations. But I believe that's his comments. Today is that they they left on friendly terms. Yes yes you're right. Kevin Her skateboarding. Buddy later said that he saw her alone around eight forty five pm that night and said that Taylor was excited for her upcoming birthday which would be October thirteenth. That should finally be able to vote. yeah should be eighteen years old and she told Kevin that she was planning on doing something quote unquote illegal. What that was Kevin does not know what that was. I do not know My guess if I if I had to guess would be. It would be a weird way to describe it to me but being on a college campus turning eighteen years old kind of feels like drinking might be the thing she might have been referencing there or maybe it was to get a fake. Id She's going to get a new. Id At eighteen years old get a fake id. So she could go into you know. Oh yeah overage clubs. That would technically illegal. I think you might be more right than me. So at nine forty five pm Taylor spoke on her cell phone to a male to a guy this is according to crime library. I couldn't figure out who this guy was his name that she spoke with but crime. Library says this guy was later questioned and there were no additional calls to or from her phone at this time. Note that time again was nine forty five pm as the news reports from two thousand and five. When Taylor got back to her dorm room that Monday night at ten twenty pm. She found that her roommate was entertaining. A young man Taylor had to vacate the relatives sock on the door. That's what my mind went to the old tie on the door. I didn't live on campus but the amount of times I like just opened up friends doors and stuff was going on Kevin Gone. Wh why wouldn't you just locked the door? I keep run into these negative people She grabbed her keys her car keys. Her phone and some cash took off telling Ama- that she was going to go skateboarding and that she would be back in about three hours. You know that's the polite thing to do to the roommate. You tell them exactly how long you can stay gone for right. And that's the I don't want to speculate too much on that. But that's the way I took. It was like hey I see you're with somebody. I'm GONNA go skateboard. Do some stuff. I'll be gone for few hours right but you know but we also have class in the morning. You're giving them a time limit. I have to return at some time to go to sleep to get up the next day I got things to do. I'm being courteous here. You got three hours the place your right and but that still puts you in round one. Two o'clock in the morning correct. You got class the next day. Yeah so the glad. Ing Residents Center Security Cameras. Show footage of Taylor walking out of her lobby at ten twenty four PM. These security cameras do not show Taylor returning in fact. She was not seen again after this time. That was ten twenty four PM. Taylor's roommate Ammo went about her day on Tuesday September. Sixth but then that evening she noticed that Taylor had still not come back and none of her things had been touched by this point and on Wednesday morning. She informed the vcu campus police that her roommate had never returned to their dorm and had been gone close to thirty six hours. The vcu campus police started looking for Taylor and guess that she had left. The dorm gone somewhere in her car as vehicle is missing as well. Campus police called Janet her mother at home to tell her that both her daughter and her daughter's vehicle are missing. There was no response on Taylor cell to Janet's calls and Janet and Matt Taylor's father immediately came down to vcu and join the campus police the campus security officers in their search for their daughter. The campus police officers spoke to Taylor's friends and acquaintances and tried to track her movements on that night that she disappeared. They knew that often young people. Just go off on these benders or leave town without really telling anybody but nobody thought that that was likely not. You're right. It's a Monday. It's a holiday so very typical to a Sunday. And it's like it's not who who would do that. That makes more sense if she went missing on a Thursday or Friday Yeah and if she did go somewhere she she left without telling anyone but really. I know that it's thirty. Six hours and there are some people on the very inner circle that are probably panicking at this point but the mass is the majority of the people. Really think that it's likely that Taylor will. Surface at some point was a really big campus. You she could a hung out with some people spent the night you know but I guess my concern is that we know that she told her roommate's. Hey I'm I'm GONNA go skateboarding. So where does that put her to put her on. Campus off campus. What kind of bad area? Yeah that's true that's true. The students started posting missing flyers featuring Taylor's photo and her personal information around and up on You know around. Campus this to me very reminiscent of the Brian Schaefer case. When when I think about all the activity that I envision going on at this time a lot smaller school but in fact Brian would go missing from. Osu campus what six months later yeah seven months. Later Taylor's mother. Janet resorted to talking to the media hoping that publicity would generate leads into Taylor's whereabouts. She knew that Taylor would not have just left school or skipped classes sense. It was only the second week and she. Was you know she had been so excited to start college? Janet Strategy worked the media strategy. Worked and Taylor's disappearance received national news coverage from Nancy Grace and from others on September eleventh. Vcu announced that it was consulting with the FBI. On Taylor's case then ten days into the investigation on September fifteenth. The Richmond Police Department took over the case issuing an amber alert for Taylor and her vehicle again. No Taylor was only seventeen so still yet a minor so she did qualify for an amber alert. The Richmond Police Department put. Together an eleven member task force of Local University and federal investigators to try to locate Taylor and what was now considered a criminal case. Two of the investigators on the task force were one was the Richmond police departments captain and the other was the state attorney. General offices investigator so we have some pretty high level individuals on this task force. Police said that they had no evidence of foul play. But Taylor a minor and now missing for days. All without being in contact with anyone was of great concern. Investigators confirm that Taylor had not used her credit card or cell phone since she went missing. And this is never good always really. I mean we know this captain. Bad bad sign the task force set out to use a relatively new tool available to them in assembling the victimology and get a list of persons of interest. And this was social media Taylor's prolific online writings and post gave investigators a glimpse into her life and place to start compiling a list of her contacts friends and acquaintances. Or you can control your top eight. I think at some point you can even make it easier than toppy could have a top sixteen So you would control. Who was in that group? So there's your closest Powell's right there on the Internet. This is also helpful. Because they're able to determine what she had been doing and where she had been going in the days leading up to her disappearance and then they're able to reach out to people that Taylor's family was not aware of that she was hanging out with one of the first people. The Task Force question was this Jacob Cunningham. The the sort of boyfriend right They they just met when school started. Jake told police that things were good when they had dinner. As you said captain with Taylor and they left the Russ Restaurant Holding Hands. He also told investigators that they parted ways that Monday evening and when they did so Taylor told him that she was going to go skateboarding. Another reference to the skateboarding thing. She was into boarding as we know. And this would have been a normal activity. It seems for her even at night. Remember we know that? She went skateboarding after midnight just days earlier however police were not able to track down anyone who had been skateboarding with her on the night that she disappeared or even seen her skateboarding that night mowing no that. She took her keys with her when she left her room. But on that video footage I don't see her with escape board correct correct now. One thing that they the investigators were going to start looking at and this. There's not much mention of this in the media but police looked at Taylor's father's girlfriend's son. Okay I'll say that again. 'cause it's a little difficult. Taylor's father's girlfriend son and I don't know this guy's name or really anything about him but what we do know is that Taylor did blog about him and her online live journal saying that he was creepy and he hit on her and it made her feel very uncomfortable. All right we are back we are back and I want to give a special shout out and cheers to a great man. Dwight radcliff was sheriff of pickle. Wake County in Ohio from nineteen sixty five all the way up to two thousand and thirteen. He is the longest serving sheriff in the United States. He was reelected twelve times. Unfortunately Dwight passed away last week on. May sixth so thank you to share Dwight radcliff for a lifetime of service to the community. I'll poor little out for the good sheriff. May he rest in peace of big cheese mates to you? Big Cheers on September seventeenth. Two Thousand and five Taylor has now been missing for about twelve days. There was a break in the case. Taylor's white nineteen ninety. Seven Ford Escort Sedan was located. It was parked on a quiet residential street this is North Mulberry Street as about three blocks from campus. That's correct a about a mile and a half from her dorm so not far away at all. What was disturbing was that the car had different license plates on it. The license plates were from Ohio. And these plates had been stolen or reported stolen two months earlier. They were lifted off of a vehicle of oven. Ohio resident who lived in Richmond while attending. Vcu residents said that the vehicle had been parked there for the duration of Taylor's of the time that she had been missing so we have a situation here. Captain she goes missing her cargoes missing at the same time this car. Her Car magically appears in this spot and it's not there for much of the time that she's been missing were we can only assume that. Somebody's switched the tags to throw people off from finding her car. They put the captain's plates on that car This next part is really really smart on the behalf of the police. I think this is an absolutely great tactic. What what they did was. They did a stakeout job on this car. I mean what? What a genius idea if you know that. It's if you suspect that something may have happened to her very early on in the period that she's been missing and you believe had have good reason to believe that this vehicle has been moved since then. Who's not to say that this this this guy's GonNa come back and move the vehicle again. We know people get nervous when they place bodies or evidence or cars places and sometimes they say they have second thoughts and think are better. Move it to a different place or it's going to be found sooner or maybe I didn't move it far away enough from me but then you also you have no evidence that she's dead. Yes Oh is she using her vehicle she the one that changed the license plates? A this we gotta figure out what's going on with her. Yeah if you get some type of activity in or around the vehicle it may be the lead that you so desperately need because by this point captain. We've already discussed this and you have to believe this is what went down. They are using social media. They're talking to her friends. Her roommate or parents everybody that knows her to figure out what her social circles are and then interview everybody that they can possibly think of in those circles and it sounds to me like at this point. They really got a whole lot of nothing going on one fine the car. Let's let's be smart. That what a genius idea. Yeah but like you said before though Oh she. She's going to go skateboarding. That's a normal thing for her and I was bringing up the point on break. Well no normalcy is not like she's been at school for a year and now we have all these times that we know. Hey He Sunday night. Should I go skateboarding? I mean like she's been in school for a couple of weeks. There is no normal. The that's not even long enough to form a bunch of habits well. I think that it's not abnormal. Is what I would point out there. No no no I agree. So after staking out the vehicle for twenty four hours to see if anyone would return to it police called in the dogs the sniffer dogs and impounded the car it was sent off to the FBI for forensic and police bloodhounds tracked a sent from her car to a home on Shepard Street. This house was about five blocks away from Taylor's car. This is pretty interesting. The home belong to the aunt and uncle of a twenty three year. Old Guy named Jesse Scholz Jesse was not a vcu student but he frequented fee. See you hang to try to meet the ladies. He also may have been a skateboarder. Jesse had visited his aunt uncle's home within the past twenty four hours and had left one of his work shirts at this house at their home. The couple was very cooperative and allowed police to look through their house. The house where Jesse lived was down the street and it was search as well during that search. They found a razor blade with cocaine residue on it and this led to Jesse's arrest although we should in all fairness we should point out the razor blade could belong to Jesse but he also had a roommate could belong to the roommate. Police clearly wanted to. They wanted to sweat Jesse a bit. See what he knew see if he was guilty of anything they just put under cocaine on the table had him do a bunch of lines and then questioned him turn the thermostat up to one hundred four so they in about that. See they interrogated. Jessie attestation. For several hours about Taylor about her being missing. He did agree to take a polygraph test. Which indicated some deception according to the detective in charge? Yeah he failed on two questions One what's your name. Is this your cocaine? This your He failed on two questions. And what is cited in the media? Reports is one of those questions was whether he knew Taylor at all and to whether he had been in her car he answered no to both of those. And this shows deception. The police are not believing it. That's that's that's difficult because for someone to say. I don't even know this person and show deception and then to say I've never been in this vehicle show deception now. You have reason to believe not. Why does he not want us to know that that he knows her right? Why what else is covering up. If he's saying that he was not in her vehicle but we have the scent dog leading you from the car right to his aunt and uncle's house. The trouble is both of tactics are not perfect like everything else right. They're not one hundred percent while I really question because this is kind of gross you gotTa Watch out for certain campuses but specially at that time late nineties early two thousands especially college guys. They GET DRUNK. They we everywhere. It's a we. We Fast Peon side of the houses all discreet between these two cars and P real quick. Is it possible that he was taking a leak and then he took a leak by your car in the walk throughs in an uncle's house? It's also possible that the dogs were wrong and the test is not scored properly right. The other thing too is if this young man is just nervous about being questioned. Anyway you know that test is reacting to him not is not actually detecting if he's lying or not detecting if there's any change in his in him physically wall right again and if I ask you a question. Hey what were you doing? The other night has at this bar there. There's no tension there. I can ask all these questions but I know that there's a missing girl. I know this was her car right. I know that they have a set from her car to my house once you bring her up even if I don't know her. The nervousness of that could fail those tests. I mean I don't like these tests like one hundred percent. I like when people are willing to take because I I do think it gives us somewhat of Brahma Dr and also when they let you know which I don't like it when they say oh well. He seemed to be deceptive so he failed the test. I I like when they come back and they go wild look. He passed everything but these two questions. There's some deception there. Okay well give me that. And that gives me more to go on yet. Despite the test failure despite the unexplained dog tracking or maybe they believe the drug dog tracking. I don't know but what we do know is this Jesse continued to deny that he had any involvement so much so to the point where he continued to tell officers and detectives. I don't even know this person. I you know I I get that. She's missing and get that you're looking for and I wish I could help but I don't know who she is. I never met her. I don't know what that vehicle is and eventually police. They do clear him of any involvement at all because they looked at this dude pretty tough and pretty hard and they were unable to link him in any way to her right and that's also becomes another prom. Do you know this person member Brian chafer melodic. People didn't know who Brian Schaefer was. But if I would showed you a picture of him people would have been like. I know that guy from somewhere yet because of the hundred and some thousand fliers we put everywhere right. I mean so how many flyers were out there with her face on it. How much news coverage was there could be Senator Ron? I know if I think his answer I think it was a forty eight hours or so there was really good when he said look if if I knew her. I wasn't aware that I knew her right. And Wind. Looking at this Jesse Schultz Sky. What this leads investigators to is they start. They take a look at a skateboarder friend of Jesse's his name is Ian and they also impounded a Nissan Altima which may have been e-ends looking for evidence. They apparently had reason to believe that. Maybe Taylor had been in the Altima at some point is my guest here and reportedly refused to take a polygraph test. He's not as cooperative as what Jesse was was this fail to that. That's what you have to wonder about like if you know that your buddy didn't know this girl and the police are telling him. Hey you failed your your polly. You're not going to be so excited to sit down for one yourself and we've talked about that many times. What could would come from you taking one because if you pass it people go whether the test is bullshit but if you fail it most people don't follow up with the test is bullshit well and if you WANNA be like Uber Cooperative and if you really want to help the best way to do it and it's not cheap so a lot of people don't do this the best way to do it is to to you. Do a bunch of cocaine. Get an attorney and then have your attorney. Set up a polygraph test and those results can then be sent to investigators from from that. I liked that process but again after you take it a few times learn how to beat the system. You have to pay for the test you have to pay for the attorney all things that can be expensive if you want good once rain. They did look like we said police. Were looking at both of these guys. Ian in Jesse I think then being skateboarders and then a possible connection to Jesse even though they couldn't find one this goes back to the thought of maybe she was planning to go skateboarding with them or maybe she actually did know them right but it seems like they couldn't make that day being the investigator. Investigators could not make that connection while the told us what happened as far as her. Dad's DAD's girlfriend's son Chiang lashed in and looked at acton low creepy KAZAA. That'd be very awkward. Oh my dad is now dating this girl and you meet her kid for the first time. And you're you're attractive female. So he's like well she's not she's not bad to look at there'd be a very awkward situation and who knows like. I said I know very little about it. Because it wasn't reported on who knows the age of the sky or right to Yeah because he was thirty five. Yeah I mean. I don't really know anything about him. I do know he was looked at and I have to believe that there was no connection. Couldn't take that portion of the investigation anywhere or would have been reported on in the media. What what's clear though is mean specially like her friends from high school and then her family members. These are almost a little bit easier to investigate on some level because you can start eliminating people quickly because the distance. Yeah so even if all the mom and daughter is closed but while maybe they had a fight okay well the moms two hours away so take to establish alibis a lot easier and the other thing too. I would think with the with her colleagues at school at Vcu. It'd be easy to to clear people as well because this we're talking about people that are at an age where they're very active and they're out about and they're hanging out with other people. It's real easy to establish as you said an alibi for who was doing what. And when Rabin here's here's the tough thing though and in any bit would know this. I mean you know this by even going to high school when you get to a new school. Everybody's new. Ya Not forming your click. He so she was still in the process. If you told me. She went missing at the end of her freshman year again schedule habits routine the the people that she would be in daily contact weekly contact monthly contact would be all those habits would be formed. But because it's so in the school year a lot of those things are does not formed yet. But you do have roommates like it's a situation where people aren't living alone. You know we cover so many of these cases in it's like this guy says well he couldn't have done it because he was twenty miles away. Well what was his alibi he. He didn't feel well. He had a headache. He lives alone. He sat at home watching some brave. I went to bed early that night. So the students have. Vcu At the campus. They held a vigil for Taylor. This was on the night of September nineteenth but Bihan one second with that point though as yes when you have a college. Campus of thirty some thousand you have on that campus. Maybe a half a million people that live on that campus. Most of them not going to that school if you go to the highest state campus. Yeah there's one hundred and some thousand kids that tend to highway campus. But there's roughly a million in that area that don't go to school the While this this whole thing's going on here captain so we're now at September nineteenth and the investigators still don't have any real strong leads and mind you there. They're really diving into every aspect of Taylor's life that they can find this being through friends this being through her activities on social media they noted that there was another guy who was involved in. Taylor's life this was not Jacob. This was not Jesse it was Ben Fawley. You might recall that. This was the roommate of Taylor's friend. Mike no whom she stayed with on her two trips to vcu in the spring of two thousand five while she was a senior in high school. So let's discuss this Benjamin Folly shall we? It'd be one of her oldest friends at vcu. Yup Ben Folly was known around town because he was a corky flamboyant character a self proclaimed Goth Skater. He always had died. Surfer style hair changed colors regularly. He drove what many would describe as creeper van that was completely covered with bumper stickers and old license plates. Yeah this is very strange. They actually did a couple of news stories on his van because he would take it was a big creeper van by thing is painted black and then it was just covered from top to bottom with stickers and bumper stickers in every kind of sticker in no paint visible on this thing. Yeah I mean when you saw going down the road it looked almost like something for Mad Max or something. So it's a novelty and that was kind of neat that it was featured on a couple local stories their news stories. I guess maybe it's not technically a creeper Vami. You don't describe it as that because it might have the size and shape of the traditional creeper van but when you're when you're covered and bumper stickers and license plates you really blend in very well do you. Write folly was once a student at vcu. He attended for seven years. Do you think he was studying to be a doctor. Probably or something. He looks like Doctor. He never graduated. But when Taylor met him at friend's apartment where he was living he was no longer a student and fact he was like thirty eight years old. Yeah he does but if you watch these interviews. He didn't look that old at all. I would say like early. Twenties dyed his hair lot changed that up a lot but even the interview. They're like. So why do you do this to your van? He's like yeah. I just like stickers band is like one of those guys right well. He two children as well. The children didn't live with him. In fact they lived rather far away with their mother. Well that's because he just likes having sex man but in regards to his age and being a father of two. I don't know that Taylor knew any of this. Because we we don't know what their conversations were but we're talking about a relationship of friendship for a few months you know at some point you the truth will come out but this girl is coming Two hours away to come visit the college campus. You can be whoever you want or whoever you think she wants you to be. Because you're you're spending not as much time with her. If that makes sense yet as the captain said you can see Ben. Fawley in these interviews. He actually gave an interview to forty eight hours in a two thousand in nineteen piece by Aaron Moriarty on the case. He said that when he first saw Taylor standing in the doorway of the apartment that he shared with Mike you know when she came to visit that he thought she was extremely beautiful. He said that they spent the entire weekend talking when they first met and they shared so much in common including many opinions and feelings about different things Matt. Beal Taylor's father said that when he dropped Taylor off there in April. He did meet. He actually met this Ben Fawley right and he said that Ben seemed to be to. Him seemed to be a very nice personable. Young Man Matt said that he assumed folly was a student and was in his mid twenties. At the oldest. And just like you pointed out captain. He looked that part We know now that neither of these assumptions were correct. Why there's a big difference? I mean if you look him up on Google images for example once they once. His hair is chopped and an of a natural color. Then go all came. Yeah mid thirties pushing pushing forty but with the pink hair or sometimes it's green hair. They're footage where he had purple hair. You know it just makes them look especially his attitude like I said he has that. I'm just loved I and my hair Bro. Right right folly in Taylor stayed in touch apparently after Taylor's first visit to to vcu. On her second visit she slept with him. She told her friends that she was curious about him and wanted to see what it would be like. Yeah now this is in spite of this is a look this individual. There's plenty of women that you come in contact with. That are attractive. You could tell that she is seventeen eighteen years old and look maybe I WANNA get into age gaps in relationships too much. But it's like he he. Should you know I just find this wrong on many levels? Yes yes one hundred percent. She's look she's a very attractive. Young lady very photogenic. But you're absolutely right there. I didn't see one picture of her where I thought for a second that she was twenty twenty one she looked very seventeen to me Her friends though even regardless of this whatever was going on between Taylor and this Ben. Fawley her friends at the time. Say She's not very Taylor's not very sexually experienced. And we do have some evidence of Taylor and follies hook-up from the digital banter between the two folly commented online on live journal posting under his online name skulls. That this very attractive girl all those. Go ahead you're pushing forty and your online name is skulls. You know like come up with something better the but the thing with this dude man. It feels like to me. The only thing that's really pushing forty and his life is his actual age bright. You know what I mean. This guy. His Br one day his brain turned eighteen and it stayed there right so skulls are friends. Skulls here posted. This very attractive girl climbed up into my bunk at four seven. And then Taylor. Whose online name was I. Don't even know if you can say this Tia. Balaj is what I how I would try to pronounce this But really it's it's supposed to be jail bait spelled backwards. She replied well. I was curious to which skulls then replies so was I in fact I still lamb folly told forty eight hours. That Taylor appreciated that. He didn't treat her like a child and that he respected her opinions. That's like had sex with her but it was like almost a con job. Yeah that's the way I view. Do you think that he? Here's like the vibe that I kind of get and I'm really totally guessing here captain but I get the vibe like. She was aware that this guy was older that she that she wasn't dumb to that No-no did she. Wasn't that naive that she didn't understand that this guy's older. You're just wander have much older. Did He tell her he was? You Know Twenty nine twenty nine a lot different than than mid to late thirties right again. And and if you have children that you're not telling the person about you again you have that ability you're on islands especially with those college campuses. You're on an island. You can pretend to be whoever you want to be well folly. He goes on to tell forty eight hours about his game how he planned to flatter Taylor telling her that he's an amateur photographer And that he wanted to take pictures with her. And this did happen you know. He took some photographs of Taylor. Now we can only assume that Taylor fell for folly fell for his carefully constructed online. Persona of this. You know cool dude. Who was into goth stuff like skulls photography and had had been? He says he even he even says the he had been a nude model at one time. Yeah specialized in small penis folly loved to post about himself in his interest online obviously detailing his mandic conquest go ahead on. Second 'cause here here's here's what I think happened. I think she's GonNa go to this school. She knows she's going to go there. She meets this meets up with somebody that from her hometown. That vcu his room is there. Okay cool you're my friend by association now. This guy is smitten by the seventeen year. Old Right make plans to hang out. He's taken pictures of her. Which a lot of times with these cases you can start Google. Lean and it. I think it's better to prep your head around the whole situation. The more pictures you can have or the more video she can have yup by pictures Goo in Google. Images are stuff that this guy took. That's what you'll find a of her and I think the as far as the sexual experience I think it was probably simply a seventeen year old. That probably drank a little bit and it was something that happened because she later is telling her friends. Well yes we were physical but I. I don't want that to happen again right. I'm not like that's it was a it was an accident right right. Well this folly guy he. If you weren't already dialing into this already he has a bit of dark side you know. He maintained websites with titles like dark evil. Goth and skulls dot deviant art dot Com featuring touring articles described as Goth. Nude porn these included images of death and decay as well as photos of very young women. We should probably say girls really bring in all sorts of compromising nude or scantily clad shots he also blogs about Taylor's visit in April on his live journal under his screen name This portion of my notes says screen skulls sixty seven. Then Taylor came down to Richmond to visit for the weekend. Got Out to Belle isle amongst other things. I got some photos not as many as I would have liked but Taylor looked cold from earlier. Post about other women. It seemed that taking photos on Belle isle was a sort of a like a four play for folly and Taylor for her part seemed to have a somewhat moodier darker persona than she led on too many in her life she had recently picked up smoking. Some of her online journals reflect a girl who didn't feel she had real friends and who wanted something more out of her young life and her friends from the starbucks where she worked in Vienna before college said that she was always interested in older men and was known for flirting with them rather than guys her own age. It's possible that does Ben Fawley older. Maybe exotic seeming was just what possibly a restless young Taylor was kind of looking for again. That's where I go back to the idea of. I don't I don't believe for a second that she did not know or did not understand that he was older. It's just what kind of how different did she know he was in her? We also have a female. There should be. There has been too many schools fifteen. She understands idea that when you're going into a new situation like that especially when you're on an island it's not like you go into the school and ten percent of those people know who you are gone into school where nobody knows who are so for her yellen is she now a smoker. Because she went to college and for two weeks she spins smoking. I would look at all that stuff as this is a time for heard her to try things to experiment with things and discover who she really is and who she wants to be so. I. I don't know if I would nestle necessarily say that. She was darker. Sometimes people just need avenue to van about things and I think you're spot on their captain. I think we have this big change in her life. This is a major change in her life. She's moving off and going off to college. So there's probably a lot of things going on with Taylor. What my suspicions are is that she is a good judge of character and she's good at setting herself up and fitting in a new place. I really think that she doesn't really know who this Ben. Fawley guy is with all the uncertainty and the world. Now is the time to protect your home with simplisafe. There is no technician or salesperson. Coronavirus Bombards Two Iconic American Cities

"Social distancing slows the spread of corona virus. So stay a minimum of six feet away from others and stay home if you can more info at Corona Virus Dot Gov. Let's all do our part because we're all Hashtag alone together. Brought to you by the Ad Council too hot spots for the Corona Virus New Orleans known for Mardi Gras just ten thousands of people to sending on New Orleans from all over the place in very close quarters and just huge crowds and Detroit. The Motor City. You know you can't build a car from Tom. You can't run an assembly line from home. So workers still. There was still a lot of workers going to work. We'll look at how the pandemic has hit these iconic American cities harder than most. It's Tuesday April seventh. I'm Marie for totally for the Wall Street Journal. Here's what's news. More than one point. Four million people have now become infected with the corona virus worldwide and eighty one thousand have died according to the data from Johns Hopkins University Italy. Spain and France among the worst hit countries in Europe are still on lockdown but some other European nations including the Czech Republic have started loosening up restrictions and after more than two months officials in Wuhan China where the virus began have finally lifted their lockdown. China says. It's had its first day since January twentieth with no corona virus related deaths less than a week after it launched the federal government's three hundred fifty billion dollar small business. Loan program may need more money. The Treasury Department is expected to request at least two hundred billion dollars in additional funding in response to the huge demand for federal assistance. Senate Majority Leader Mitch. Mcconnell said in a statement today that he'll aim to approve more funding for the program this week the loans are intended to cover about two months of essential costs acting Navy secretary. Thomas Moodley resigned this afternoon. Following an uproar over his firing of captain whose ship was hit by the Corona Virus Moseley dismissed Captain Brett. Crozier last week after a memo demanding more resources to combat. The virus was leaked to news organizations. He later excoriated Crozier to his former crew that prompted criticism from president trump. Tom Democrats and the Secretary of Defense Acting Under Secretary of the Army James McPherson has been tapped takeover as acting Navy secretary. Japanese automakers Nissan and Honda have announced that they're furloughing. Us factory workers without pay due to the pandemic Nissan says it will temporarily lay off about ten thousand hourly workers at plants in Tennessee and Mississippi. Until later this month. Honda has notified staff. That it will furlough. Fourteen thousand four hundred factory employees until may the US auto industry shut down nearly all production in social distancing slows the spread of Corona. So we should all stay home to lower the risk for everyone more INFO at Corona Virus Dot Gov. Let's all do our part because we're all Hashtag alone together brought to you by the Ad Council the US has become the epicenter of the Krona virus. Pandemic there are now more than twice as many confirmed infections here than in any other nation but the virus isn't hitting every state and city in the same way at a press briefing on Saturday White House Corona virus coordinator Dr Deborah burks singled out three of the hardest hit areas. Roy Area The New York Area Louisiana area. We've talked a lot about New York which has seen the worst of it so far. The state now has more than fifty four hundred deaths today. Were Turning to Detroit and New Orleans. Each of these cities have characteristics that make fighting this disease. A unique challenge our Wall Street Journal. Reporter's Scott Calvert and Ben Fawley have been reporting on the city's and join us now. I want to ask both of you about some of the things that make your respective cities that you're reporting on unique Ben in motorcity. Obviously a huge impact on the automotive industry which may in fact as you right be a clue as to why and how the virus spread in Detroit and I think to understand. The outbreak in Detroit would really fundamentalists understanding. That for it to have gotten this bad. It needs to have gotten here earlier than it's gotten other places and gone longer undetected and for that to have happened. Some people have pointed to the Detroit International Airport which is a very international airport with a lot of connecting flights who a lot of places in the world and then you add in the fact that the automakers here also have you know very extensive operations both in China where the outbreak began in northern Italy. Which was kind of the second massive hotspot that that blew up outside of China. There's no definitive evidence that that's how it was introduced here. But there's there's thinking that it would have been likely transit point for the virus and I think the other thing that the auto industry and other manufacturing emphasis of the area brings into play here. Is that you know you can't build a car from home. You can't run an assembly line from home so workers still you know there was still a lot of workers going to work. And there was a bit of a delay in implementing some of the social distancing not at the government level but at the the voluntary employer level Scott in New Orleans. Obviously a city known for Mardi Gras which was just celebrated recently. Are there questions? Now among health officials and others as to whether celebrations during Mardi gras impacted the spread of the virus in the city. Yeah well Governor Edwards has said he is he thinks that Mardi gras activists sort of an accelerate and just based on the timing Mardi Gras itself was was February twenty fifth but there were lots of festivities even before then and you know you have tens of thousands of people descending on New Orleans from all over the place in very close quarters you know and just huge crowds and so he thinks that very likely you know. That's that's part of the issue. That's one one of the reasons why they had so many cases sort of early on but that said you know the question is you got to go back and say okay. Well at the time were people calling for the parades and such to be to be cancelled and be if they if they weren't you know should they have been doing that and I talked to the Public Health Health Chief in Louisiana Dr Alex. Bu about this and you know what he said was that at the time there were only about fifteen confirmed coronavirus cases in the whole United States. And almost all of them involve people who had traveled overseas to high risk areas like Wuhan China and so as he put it to me he said. I don't think anybody was aware of the level of community spread. That might have already been ongoing the time that we had Mardi Gras so his view is you know in hindsight. Sure he'd love to turn the clock back and cancel all of that. But at the time they just didn't realize what a powder keg they were sitting on bolted. These cities are also experiencing a disproportionate number of cases of the corona virus among black Americans. We're also seeing areas where there are preexisting conditions whether that be diabetes. Asthma Ben. What can you tell us about the situation in Detroit? Yeah so the. The outbreak in Michigan being centered in Detroit. Which is a very majority black city. The city limits itself is about seventy seven percent African American As opposed to the state overall population about fourteen percent so the viruses hitting here harder than it's hitting anywhere else in the state and one of the reasons that I it seems to be kind of so ferocious and Detroit is that the population here has a lot of the CO morbidity is that you mentioned that really increase the likelihood of death if somebody does contract Cova nineteen and also just even if even if people don't die they might manifest more intense symptoms and require hospitalization. So Detroit actually. Outpaces the country in terms of prevalence of of a lot of these commodities like diabetes heart disease and especially also asthma and so given the kind of combination of a population that that has historically worse health outcomes and worse rates of prevalence for the types of things that make it worse. If you get co Vid that has really started to play out here on the ground as really affecting the black community here in Detroit quite are severely Scott. Are you seeing similar? Factors at play in New Orleans. Yes we are in Louisiana has started to report the racial breakdown for the state as a whole in terms of people dying of covert nineteen. And what is that about? Seventy percent of those people who've died were African American and the State is about a third African American. So obviously there's a big disparity there it is worth pointing out that the that New Orleans is about sixty percent black and as as we all know that sort of the epicenter in Louisiana you know there are a variety of factors at play. Probably I mean you know one possible issue is that a lot of Americans have sort of the frontline jobs that don't allow you to to work from home more blue collar type jobs you know bus drivers and grocery store clerks and things like that so maybe there are more exposed just just for that reason and then without a doubt Louisiana is generally speaking a pretty unhealthy state it ranked forty ninth in the fifty states in a report that was done in two thousand nineteen and a lot of the same issues Talking about are at play there. And so those. Underline conditions obviously make it harder for people to to survive covert nineteen if they if they get sick. How are the city's hospital systems responding and managing under the increased strain Ben? Let's start with you. I think that there there's a few issues at play here. In Detroit one is that the outbreak really had a pronounced effect on first responders. Early on I think about a fifth of the city's police force was quarantined at one. Point and cities put a lot of effort into bringing first responders back online. But that's definitely put a stress on the system. Secondly the head of one of the big local hospital chains was complaining yesterday that there has been kind of a breakdown of sharing information as to the capacity of hospitals at any given time so he was saying that that hospital chain is kind of overwhelmed but doesn't know what other hospitals have room for the patients that they should send other emergency rooms and one of the Further down the chain local primary clinics federally qualified health centers. Things like that have been you know. We're we're set up to be able to handle the overflow of all the all the medical issues that might not need immediate hospitalization and what they've told me is that they have so much difficulty getting protective equipment that they can't even see patients. You know Detroit. The heads first positive test on March tenth so it. It really is hard to overstate how quickly this went from. You know a couple of positive tests to one hundred deaths a day. So that's really put a huge strain on the city and the areas medical infrastructure. Scott what can you tell us about? How New Orleans hospitals are? Managing hospitals are still definitely under strain in the area. But you know Governor Edwards is saying that. The outlook has improved lately. He had been saying that this week is when New Orleans was going to run out of ventilators and hospital beds and just really be overwhelmed by by the pandemic. But he's saying that's no longer the case and there are a handful of reasons. Why part of it is. The hospitals have expanded their intensive care bed capacity. Also you know. The governor said that I think seven hundred and fifty plus ventilators been acquired over the last couple of weeks. So they're boosting supply there as well and he also. The governor said that hospitals are doing a good job at keeping people off ventilators who otherwise probably would have been on one limiting how many days they're using them and he says they appear be reducing. How long people are actually being hospitalized? And he also is cautiously optimistic. That the mitigation efforts like social distancing staying at home and all of those things that he and governors and mayors all over the country are talking about are starting to really take hold but he's also very cautious that the state and the city and the region are are by no means out of the woods. That's Wall Street Journal. Reporters Ben Foley Anna Scott Calvert. Thank you both so much for joining me. Thank you exemplary. The big question on everyone's mind in those cities and around the country is how will we know? When we're in the clear. What does it look like and when can live start getting back to normal? Dr Anthony Fauci is one of the most high profile people working on the Corona Virus Task Force and he spoke with our sister. Podcast the Journal. So when you say get back to normal you really talking about a real clear. Indication that those areas like New York City like New Orleans like Detroit that have big outbreaks with peaks have not only stabilized in the number of new cases in hospitalizations but eventually turned the corner and starting to come down and and history other countries. Tell us that once you turn that corner and come down. The decline is pretty steep. So you're going to need to have confidence that in areas like New York and New Orleans and others that not only. Have you plateaued stabilized. But you're coming down. I don't think he needs to get down to zero before you can start. Contemplating gradually relieving some of the restrictions. And I think that's what sometimes people can understandably get a mis perception of what one can do. It isn't a like a light switch on and off. It's a gradual pulling back on certain of the restrictions to try and get society a bit back to normal not only because there are some vital functions that we need to attend to but also for economic reasons. Welcome to the Polly gun show. Simone, garish, Laura, and I'm here today with Olivia. Frank fallow. Shell see stark alot and Ashley. Oh, hello. You also kind of quiet where I just realized I forgot to open. My oh do it right now. Aby bake my fake. Look walked. Oh, good. Thank you. So I don't know if you heard about this listeners, but I turned off the sound in my headphones. I don't know if you heard about this listeners, but all of the invokes media's office was replaced with a similar flavored seltzer beverage called, Waterloo. Yes, Waterloo, Waterloo. Yeah. That's exactly why. I fuck I paid it. I mean, I love it. I actually really really loved the beverage, but I fuck in hate looking at it. But every no I it was Archer. That's the thing is torture because I know for the next twenty four hours. But I hear the share cover instead. What we make good because I also shared cover and I get angry because I'm like great. This is going to be stuck forever. Literally. Like, I'll walk into the kitchen, you know, going to make my toaster, whatever I'll turn around. I see the fridge in my head just goes what? Never been happier to not know ABA. I. I. Rigmarole? You my mom with this song loves Abbott. Good labor show so much. Everyone's mom does. That's true. It's very movie a good movie though among Mia. Yeah. It's called Bob. Buck. They like, I guess so because it soon around the moms and there in her former lovers. Yeah. It's a fantastic v. I don't think she has former liberal. Maybe she's vicariously living. We all have to find out we have to pull our mothers about their feelings on mama Mia. And find out if they have lovers. My mom is strictly a bodyguard. Soundtrack woman. I will tell you. I know this is why you didn't grow up with Abba. Amazing. I wanted to say about what music our moms are into because my mom loves migos. And Cardi B your mom is much. It's actually a very good idea. Yes. On your mother's day music questions. Beaking of Maugham's. My juice. It wasn't a good transition. And I apologize for that. So last week y'all talked about the mom juice, which Ashley tried. We have an update though, I still have not tried it. But Allegra has apparently tasted the juice of the mind. Yes. Well, that's horrible. But. Actually do. So before I got into that. Actually, did you get the co- electable Cup. Now, there were only regular cups all know collect like like from the thing that you just pull out on the counters like a container like reusable container that says like slurpy on it, and it has like detective Pika chew on the side. Like it says detect feature and they have different poke him on. So I got the peak itchy one like a large size. Yeah. It's pretty big. I'll show to you later. At the get it from my friend. But yeah, so I got one of those and here's the hack by accident. I didn't. Okay. So the first fill is free. But I didn't realize you're supposed to buy it. I so they charged me as if so I opened it and put my slurpee in there. And then they charge me as it was just a refill. Got it like bad. But it's okay. Because we spent more money which I'll get to. We did not only got the serpent, but I'll get to the other thing they tried. So I tried this Lert be and Astro. You're saying it tastes were like watermelon. Well, that's good. Like a like a berry berry. Yes, we're talking. Yes berry. We definitely got the berry hints raspberry came up. Yeah. Our taste test. Watermelon. Also strong lemonade. I didn't really get the lemonades one with my friend, Andrew, and he was very emphatic about it tasting like lemonade, which I didn't really get sorry. Sorry. I did not get that beaming. There's no tart element whatsoever. He was like that is the most overwhelming flavor. I am getting but I mostly got raspberry watermelon. Some people taste differently is this like a salon show tasting like soap. Advani maybe or the slurpee tastes like lemonade. But so so much better than salon tasting like Sosa. True question are those ingredients that you listed are those flavors that you listed the ones that seven eleven says are in the so the whole con- seat is that no one knows what? Yeah. And you have to guess, and then you get a prize. Yeah. Wait, what is there a price? That's a little thing you, yes. And there's a price. This is submit your guests. And then whoever gets it, right? Like, whoever mails it down. We'll get a year's worth of free is going to be only one or what I love your. I guess everyone who guesses correctly. I don't really know. 'cause like how am I can't Lenny different flavors? What if it's a compound flavor? You know, and it's not just one flavor. Like what if it's a raspberry strawberry? You can't do that. But like a raspberry Oerlikon strawberry. You're like, do you know, if you have to hyphenated outside, I think it is. I think it's like traces of watermelon traces of lemonade, whatever just for example. But put put what if what if you had your vets and you say like berry. The blast. I want you that right, right? All of these questions into the submission bucks. Just in the box. That's your answers to open ended looked at the rules of entry. But maybe smoking look that up or we can discuss it on a future. We will. We will submit a group entry. I think we should table it. And I think that Ashley should write an up it for probably gone about. How the rule while? Hell I will say here's a positive thing. That did not evolve any guesswork or further questions. So there isn't just the mind juice. Did you see that? They also have chocolate what detective chew chocolate the chocolate, but there's a lot of I only tried to. There's other ones that they didn't have the other ones when you say chocolate what form chocolate bars. Oh, not a chocolates slushy gone. That's what I was thinking. And it was like. No, I was thinking like an Easter bunny. But it was a peak. Branding opportunity. Right. So cute. That's better than like the Brown turned from the machines picturing chocolate slushy. So they have. I think they might afford chocolate bar flavors. But we only tried to. So they had a sidewalk flavor and snowball flavor and the sidewalk one they have cutesy names. What I forgot the actual names of the sidewalk one was like orange chocolate. So had orange cream in it, and the snuggle one was pink with blue little flex, and that was raspberry flavor was a blue flick like sugar, but they were crunchy. But it was like a it was a pink color was a pink pastel pin color pastel pink color. How big was it? Like a crunch bar size smaller than crunch bars while smaller been Hershey bar like probably four pieces for six pieces like small, I just feel like we can do better than the. Here's the thing. Yeah. The side up one bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, bad. Neither of us could finish it. It was bad raspberry one. So freaking good, so good. If you've ever had raspberry, it tasted like raspberry, Eminem's raspberry Eminem. The hill is I've never heard of that fuck off last year. The limited what shipping. What if it was on day baby mush, it would be smell a lot raspberry because I loved it. And I as flicks at your. Right. So like raspberry flavored chocolate who still like a chocolate base, but like a white chocolate. It was more like white chocolate. But the thing is it was pink. So it was more like white chocolate. Tate's new, but tasted a lot. Like raspberry feel like you just went to a shitty. Seven eleven Ashley. I mean, are we very bad very bad. Yeah. Rank expired. Starbucks Frappuccino from there. What? Well, I didn't drink it. Because I get noticed the chunks in the top. But. Oh. Starbucks at seven eleven no those bottles green. Oh. We went to the seven eleven that is near the office, actually. Okay. It's off the Fulton Street. Subway stop. So you can all go there. Take the subway to I wanna walk over this, bro. Sass or Trump? Raspberry raspberry was really good. I so we should all make a pilgrimage and also you can get a Cup. Yes. Is it like a plastic Cup? Or is it like a like a paper flat with a straw? And is it boss doesn't have any like all textra fun. No, I missile show. You this is great. Anyway, that's all detective peak. You have eleven I give solid be. And it's opening very soon. It's opening may ninth. So and I'm so ready. Wait, did you ever tell did you like the mister mime slush? Uh-huh. It was fine. I had like eight sips. And then I thought I was going to have to be in the bathroom for the rest of the day. So we also have the hi hat mocha vats. It tastes like vanilla. Wait is that a poke him on the hi hat? Cafe is like a place in detective beach. You my God, I guess place. Hi hat cafe in the movie where he gets his coffee at Mississippi his coffee that he drinks his mocha. And it was so good. Okay. I'm sold on that. Did you know that when you Google seven eleven Mr. mime Cup our own Petron a- comes up in Google image. Search picture. Our picture comes up drinking the slurpee at the seven eleven machine. So all right. Let's move on to persona five the Royal? Ashley, can you? Explain to us. What that is. Yeah. It was very unclear on the initial tease if it was like a DO see or different game. But I think it's just like a revamped version of it like people were saying like persona five golden pursue a persona five golden persona affordable than persona four. Let it go. Because it looks like there are they have some of the same dungeon so common cheetahs dungeon and the Okamura dungeon, but they look different. So they look very revamped and remixed and there's a new area that you can travel to and explore. There's a new phantoms thief lot going on and I'm really excited to say does this ever release date at all it does it will. Come out this year knock Tober for Japan. But stateside in twenty twenty unfortunate. I think moso far from. Yeah. That's yawns away. Let's light years. The thing that I've seen most people talking about with this is of course, that more Ghana is now a hop. Boy. Okay. So I've seen two right? I've seen like more Ghana as a cat in the trailer. And then if you go on the persona five, Royal website, and you scroll down the screen shots. There is a screen shot of the protagonist talking to a boy who has the same color is is more Ghana and has like a little yellow necklace. And if you know, any Japanese you see that this person uses the Waga, high pronoun to refer to him self, and, you know, same eyes same kind of more gonna laugh. I believe he also calls an on Dono, which is what you know. More Ghana has said if you turn on the Japanese audio in persona five, look, I have who's a separate language pack that you have to download f y you're saying, it's free. But yeah, it's definitely more Ghana which is interesting because at the kind of spoilers for the game persona five more Ghana thinks that he's a human the whole time and is waiting to be turned back into this human. And then at the end more Ghana is not a human but more God is on a cat either. So it's kind of tough to explain. But this time around it looks like more Ghana is a cute boy. Well, yeah. In this echoes what happened in persona four golden also possibly zone four. But I don't know because I've with teddy with teddy who is kind of like a bear suit mascot thing. Oh in the first time they take his head off in the game. They're like nothing. There's nothing and it's fucking horrifying. And like, he just. And he just taught also round without a head. And there's this empty space. But the next time in the middle of the game. They take his head off. He's a boy and so eight and in for Sona for dancing all night. He's still a hot. Boy. I call him a Highland question. If he is. Yes. Okay. He he's like full, very princely and gleaming. That's the only thing I know about persona for is that there is like a big mascot like character. I assume that it was just a mascot nominaux. He was a shadow that somehow became a person and that was never super clear. On how? But but in the but in golden, you see the boy. Yeah. My on here. Cheer. But I have not played the original. I'd in a lot of content was added. So yes. But I think the implication is that he's permanently a human after that game. Yes. Oh, and he goes and travels. He when he dances. Yes. Sorry. I Ford is all night is the only persona game that I've ever finished. So we're all my expertise lies the game saw pictures briefly before is that's the blonde hair. Yes. Swoop. Yes. A little boy. Oh is he a little boy looks me? He looks sixteen still too young Simone. I I'm not protesting. Ten I think we're gonna is definitely better looking than candy. I feel like this is maybe my personal opinion. I feel like they kinda cheap out a little bit. Because the picture the little person that they use the head the animated head. Okay. Looks kind of like they just like retooled use gay or your protagonist. Yeah. And it just looks like that that they're like, oh, well, we got the template just listening when I was looking I seriously was just of like scrolling through the gallery, and I thought that was just use gay. Yeah. But then I saw the outfit, and I actually like looked closer. Yeah. Exactly. I just I kinda wish we're gonna got it like a distinct look, but we also don't know, you know, what kind of role that this human more Ghana plays if it's permanent. But even so I would have liked to who. Can I ask a question of your thoughts, specifically Chelsea? Ashley speaking of roles. People play Kasumi is she playable or is she just another party member. So Kasumi is this new female character? I thought she was playable. I thought it was going to be like the role reversal. And I get to date all the boys. That's what I'm honing. My god. I hope so. But the doctor is a man this time was the thing is so in persona three portable as it should be in pursuit of the free portable. You can choose if you're a guy or girl, but that means, you know, like the guy if you're playing as girl guys and in the game at all, but Kasumi is in shots and scenes with joker in the persona five Royal lakes. Trailer anything he'd never know. I'm worried that Kasumi is another a catchy type of character. You know, we're like you can't really play her. But you can maybe like once or twice and she's like the villa? Oh my God. She also goes also haven't got play four. So Marie was the addition that they made a four, and she was the character that is really weird and she mostly lives in the velvet room, and then has her own shit going on. She's very strange, very angsty and writes, very weird poetry, but koso- Qasimi could be very much Marie thing. Which is like this whole character. That's added and gets thrown arc. Well, she does have a phantom thief costume, though, doesn't it? Sue me. Didn't she have a school uniform? I thought it went to the same. She's like a transfer student who starts at the same time doesn't preclude her from just being like what Marie was which was another character, you could build marinas and social Smith. Yeah. Stay and you sometimes you would take her out and your other friends. It'd be like who's this weird person? You're with. Oh, yeah. They have that in like I wanted to spend more time with the other kids. I didn't really care about Marie. No. All right. He's extremely especially after I read her poetry as like do not care. They said about me. It was some edge lordship. So actually are you going to replay persona five. I just I feel like I saw her like more time. Yeah. And I was like I think I gotta go on run three. I think I got to go for three hundred hours. I'm extremely ready to play persona five again. Also, like, maybe they could have tightened up the ending who knows? Yeah. I mean, I kind of hope that they re address the ending a little bit spoilers. I mean, I'm not going to say it. But it was just like the ending is boring. All I will say I'm not going to spoil it. I'm just say the in the last hours of the game are not matched in quality to the rest of the game. And the fact that right before the game when you think like, oh, this is over it's not usually further venture out in mementos for like ten thousand more fucking hours. And after all of that grime then you get the ending. And I literally was like, okay. All right. The worst. Now. That's that's exactly how I feel. Also, I want to correct myself because teddy teddy becomes a boy and all the persona because I remember. I watched the anime on the original. Clinton's heading. Let's not get Teddy's in the anime. Yeah. Okay. Okay. Oh, well, there you have it you have more persona five talk in the future of the polygon show. It'll happen as it should be as as it always will be I've actually been playing a game. Hey, what are you doing? I don't know why accused you of something. How could you? How could you guess what? I have been playing more assassin's creed odyssey. I said would buy so I stopped playing as you might remember because I could not modulate my gaming time. And I hurt myself. And then I started playing again, and I did not modulate my gaming time. And I hurt myself again. But. I've learned from my mistakes kind of because now I play with a risk brace on. If you're playing with a brace on I'm genuinely curious it makes me feel better. I don't know if it's had any material. I'll get back to you. After a few more days. Are you still doing stretches and stuff for your wrists? Yes. Yes. I always do. My little praying thing to stretch my forearms. I've not been as good as I should be. But I think the larger point that I want to get at here is I am now seventy hours to screen out to odyssey and around that fifty hour, Mark, folks. For me shit gets really great weight. That's just like a the piece that everyone gave us flack they gave like so much flying over that. I think it was red dead redemption to it's like, no, it was definitely odyssey. Takes like twenty hours to go. To know. Here's the thing. It's really good from. It's okay. Let me rephrase that it's good from the beginning. But the larger scope of the story doesn't become entirely visible until twenty hours in. But I wanna talk about what's happening for me right now. Because I think like this game is always clicked for me. I've always found it very fun and also very addictive, but the ship is happening now to me is so funny and so interesting and so delightful, so what has happened to me now, and this will be very mild mild stories boilers for a side quest. I went to the Olympics. Yeah. Yeah. Guess what? I went to Sparta and they were like escort are fucking champion to the Olympics because we have to get an Olympic wreath for Sparta. And I was like I'll do it. They're like go find our champion. His name is testimonies. And he's drunk all the time. So I went to the island and testicles there, and he was really throw this huge drunk meathead. And he was like I need. My I want beat. I went I made this special oil for him for to rub rub aisles. Sport. The pen Klatt theon, which is wrestling and boxing. Oh to be oiled up for the oil off talking about oil. I will continue areas. Only mildly Harry on the chest. I feel like rising for testing knowing. No. Test. I saw I convinced him to come with me with the oil. I had everything he needed I sailed with him to Elise where the Olympics were being held. You're all very ni-. When you said I convinced him to come with me Chelsea metal horrible face. Not looking over there anymore. That's my face. Excuse me. Oh, just my face. So we get there. And we're standing on the dock and he like he's feeling very like raw Sparta. Yes. And somebody put the oil on me come on. And he boop Cassandra on the nose which was very oh the offense on her face. She was like what how how could you? How dare you touch? My perfect vizo. And then he was like ooh on Santiago, and he came in for a hug and Cassandra stepped aside to avoid the hug and he tripped over a bowl of fruit and fell into the water. Fucking idiots. And everyone is like, oh, he can swim. Right. And then it cut back to the water. And there was a huge shark just swimming. In a fool. That happened. So quickly hundred habits. How does someone go from? We was supposed to happen. Yes. Oh, thank God. It was cinema. Not perfection. It was so fun. So is it like it's got to be played for laughs. Yes. One hundred percent played for laugh. This isn't the main game. This is this is well it it's just signed quest in the main game though. Yes, it's something that you should do we. So the testicles all testicles did he was drunk. That's that's the thing. You know, a lot of people suffer from that. But he boop Casandra on the nose. And so he has to get murdered by ill trips. Trim. Like that. Because then Cassandra competes in the Olympics. Oh, okay. Wow. Is there some weird quick time event where you punch in wrestle much oil? Did you wear? Oh my God. Did you get to wear the oil? Ashley I did. Did let me tell you this is this whole quest. I think it pit him is is why I love this game. So fucking much 'cause wild shit keeps happening and every part of it is like. Yes. This is so good and funny. So the the pen criterion event ends up being just like punching, you know, no weapon. So that's whatever I would have preferred some like actual wrestling mechanics. But. It's fine. The they worked with what they had. But there's a point where it comes to the so in the wrestling because it's the Olympics. They wear like their wraps underwear. You know, they stripped down to the they're like loin cloths and broth thing. I don't know. I'm kind of I'm kind of gesturing in this Chessel area right now. It's just a wrap. It's like a Bando bra Cassandra naked punching out dudes in the Olympics. And in the third round. They're like, you're not taking this seriously. You're not even oiled. And if you have the oil, you can say, you know, I have some oil and then the third route Cassandra fights in the pen crat Theun completely oiled up shimmering half-naked muscular scars out. It is so good. It was a moment of of beautiful van service. Did you take a screen shot? I don't think I did. I think I was too. Distracted by being happy. And punching dudes in the face. So my I guess my message here is assassin's. Creed odyssey is so big. And I for some people I think it can take some time to get going. But the gems inside it are so worth excavating. And I love this game. So much. Oh, just having a really good time for the side. Quests are what really makes the game. Like, they're great side question. Great character development like the small ones. I think Simone. You were telling me earlier about aside question. It was was it supposed to be like you thought it was going to be a combat quest. And then the guy just ended up being like, my son suggestive extremely accurately, finding my son. This is another really good thing. Because you're on the on Crete's where the minutes our lives and there's this scam. Basically in this tiny town where they're like come fight the minutes are, but you have to complete these pre-trials to complete the trial of the Minna tar and Cassandra's like this is bullshit, and it's a test of strength of testify think speed and a test of accuracy, and you go to the test of accuracy, and the guys like my sons are missing they've run away playing field and other gonna Cassandra's like I'm here for the pretrial of accuracy. And he's like, okay. Well, this is going to be the pretrial of extremely accurately. Finding my shot. And then you just go find his sons, and that's it. And it's so I like went in there being like shit. I'm going to have to do a bow and arrow test. I'm going to have to accurately fire the weapon, I'm worst within this game. And it was a total reversal of applications, and it was just really funny. Awesome. Yeah. Levin it. So if anyone feels like picking up this game, especially now that the Atlantis deal. See is coming out and looks bowler. What's already out? The first episode came out yesterday. I like wanted to leave immediately upon finding that out except that. I haven't played for seventy hours and not at level fifty two yet somehow which is wait. Did you really clock seventy hours, and you're not level fifty two? Yes. I don't know what I aim is some charm ender. It's. On what? Is the game that long or maybe have you just been doing like a lot of side quests, I've been doing a lot of side quests, but I think you need to because the because most enemies will scale up in level with you. So you need you get, you know, X P for discovering new locations for completing side, quests et cetera et cetera. So you can't really main line the main quest. Also, I haven't uncovered the full map yet either. Ha, it's okay. You you oil jer self you were too busy with other things oiled, and I'm going to the Al caveat is and it's going to be anyway enough about my ancient Greece where I will return to once I leave this office. Hey, everybody Simone here. So I was wrong about needing to be level. Fifty to the Atlanta deal sakes. I miss read the ridiculous requirements doing the Atlanta steel, see you have to be level. Twenty eight or above. But when you go into the deal, see, they both you up to level fifty to a level fifty two with preset abilities and resources enabling you to start your adventure. But also to get there you have to have finished a certain quest line. And what it says is you have to complete the quest line between two worlds, comma, the mythological main game story arc comma and era of memories calm. The loss tales of Greece quest line that is available after completing the former quest line. So I'm understanding that to mean, those are two different quest lines. Not for different quest lines. Either way. I have not finished the mythological main game story arc because again, I'm only a mere seventy hours. So anyway, that is my correction and thank you. Let's take a minute to talk about today's sponsor alienware the alienware area. Fifty one m brings you disc top quality gaming experiences in a notebook superfast graphics. You'll never miss out on what's next redefine mobile gaming, the world's most powerful gaming laptop ready to experience the future of gaming, call eight hundred by Dell to get your alienware laptop. That's eight zero zero b u y d e l l. Oh, actually, even playing Yoshi is crafted world, I have. It was a terrible segue. Yeah. Talking. I'm talking about now. Oh, his Al Al Kibi Ottis who. Oh, why do you wanna fuck him? He wants to fuck me. Okay. Well. I have playing you. She's crafted world. It's been out for a while. And I'm surprised I haven't played it earlier just other things like getting mad at overwatch got in the way and also Bob as you. But yo she's crafted world, very, very cute. I was wondering how similar it would be to Yoshi woolly world as that is like one of my favorite games. It is. I think there was an adjustment period of the fact that it is three d sometimes you can go like sort of into the foreground or the background or like throw things in the foreground or background. But that's not always immediately clear, and I think you just have to play it for a while. Because like, I think I got you know, a couple levels in. And then I realized I was like, wait a minute. I can throw an egg at that little like cardboard Bush, and like sometimes it all coins behind it or like a shy guy with a red coin or who knows any Bush could have. That I mean, but it's not any Bush, and that's why it got complicated because then well, how many and sometimes it's a cloud. Sometimes it's a flour. And then I think my issue with this is like I need to. I was trying to play it to relax. And so instead of playing it in a way where you would kind of breeze through it, and relaxed my like instinct kicked in might let completion is no sting. So that you know, I finished this adorable like poochies tape lentil or something like that. It was like adorable and cute. And then at the end, it it it showed you, you know, your stats, and at the end, it was like, geez. Day level completed three stars of six and I was like fuck you. You held it was like nineteen out of twenty red coins. What the fuck? And then sometimes like there was a bonus Pucci level that was very cute. And there was a collective three poochies, and I found the three Putin. This was a really long bonus level, by the way. So I got really nervous, and it was like, maybe I missed one. And then I found that they're like some bonus poochies right hiding behind the Bush. I didn't know I think I hit one by accident. And then I discovered there was a Pucci behind there. And it was like shit after we start this. I did it. I kept playing and I was like I'm just gonna I'm gonna enjoy this. I'm gonna enjoy this experience. Joy it. Yeah. And then I got really like anal about finding every single Pucci. And it was like maybe turns out I did not get a bonus for finding the extra poochies. I thought I would. And the fact that like you get an extra star the, and there's a little star daisy thing that you get it's like if you complete or find the three poochies in under five minutes on I I got like five seventeen because I because it kept backtracking because every time I got a Pucci like. Sometimes he could boost you up so well, let comb the whole thing and at the end, well, I got like five or six poochies. I'm definitely going to get an extra. No, I was robbed verse. Actually, I shouldn't have tried to find the extra poochies because I was seventeen seconds over fucking Pucci level screwed me much like you with every game. I really do want in Ashley reacts to you. She's grafted world video series. Don't like why did that happen to me? I just love the idea of it being so cute and pastel and just like you say Puji, and you're like well fuck. That's what I mean. I was really mad about that. But what I wasn't mad about this, very cute and good. You can change. I think sort of like Willie world you can change which Yoshi you wanna play us at like any time. They're just different colors, basically. And so I like to do a thing where because I think everyone should be equal and Ashley's dictatorship land. Of course, that makes sense. Right. So after every like like little level, I complete I go back, and I switched my Yoshi color, and I found out that in between these levels. Sometimes there's like a little space you go to there's like a looks like a Gumbo machine, and you can put in one hundred coins and like it'll generate local random like a skin for you. Right. And it has like a normal tear a rare tier, and it's like based on the the level or area like you just played. So I got I got a cute house thing. And then I got a lighthouse skin. And it turns out that it's like literally just Yoshi sitting like inside a cardboard box with his arms poke out. And like his head is just. Yeah. There's like the the roof is just like perched on top of his little Yoshi head on any kind of like waddles around like this, and he played a whole level with that skin on. Yeah. You can do that. But I think though this like employs and a mechanic that I personally worried about which turned me off in front of the while which is like the skins are skins, but they're also kind of armor. So they can take damage and it was like, oh, that's cool. And they're like would be careful they can break down. And I was on the fuck come on. I just put one hundred coins for this. What if I got a rare skin what if I run into a shy guy went to many times that what happens to my house? It's gone. I mean, it's not gone yet. But what if that happens? Would you literally have to rebuy the lighthouse? What if I I mean, luckily, the lighthouse is normal tier? So I can just probably get it. Whenever I want me be. But. I did so many mechanics into this cute games that target your anxieties. Nobody told me that this is basically the Infinity stone game very beginning. You know, there's like this beautiful sort of this lumpy stone structure. It has five colored gems in it. I think you can guess the same colors something happens. Where clearly, you know, someone who is to take the stones and then they get scattered. All right. And all the, oh, she's or pulling on the stone thing with their little noise. Like they play that over and over. And then it flies away. And they're like hope hope get all these and there's a little Indian and intimidation for each of the stones on this like stone slab, and I'm like, this is just a non wearable gauntlet. Horrible, an all the Yoshi different colors and hope they don't turn into ash. You know, maybe they will. I don't know. Because maybe my fucking skin will disintegrate. Smattering too stressful. It's very stressful and your lighthouse breaks down your she's just like, I don't feel so good. I feel like only I can make a very cute. Nice game. Really stressful. I feel like I do take us. Also, Matt patches reviewed it and said the same shit like he agreed with you. He said it was too stressful especially because it measures stressful. It like also doesn't measure how many eggs you use. No, I what do you mean measure like does it count? How many times do you use your resources to break things down? I just know that you can think carry like five or six at a time. Okay. But yes patches is review said pretty much what you are saying which is like why did they add stress into Q game. I mean, I know that there's still a mellow mode. But I think the Mela mode only gives him like little like wings to boost his jump. Why are you laughing? Why are you laughing at so cheap angel Yoshi mellow you cheap because he already has like a really long jump. I mean, it's true. That's not the same as flying. Okay. The game is very cute. Very creative so much cardboard in like cute like DIY. It's just very I know there's an intendo lab relaxing as Yoshi world. I'm sorry. Yoshi mellow mode reminds me of a beverage called Marley's mellow mood. Whoa. Wait, isn't this the tea or this is the thing you accidentally drank? What is I didn't accidentally drink it? I purposefully drank Marley's mellow. It is a Bob Marley branded bottled beverage that is sold in stores in Washington. I do not believe it actually has in it. I I think is just like full of melatonin shoe it couldn't because we'd wasn't legal there. When I drank the mellow mood. Stuck on you saying Bob Marley branded Bev you said like five days in a row. And I heard my Bob granted beverage Marley's mellow mood. The hill. I like to refer to it as when I drank the mellow mood. Like I'm going to smoke the marijuana cigarettes. I drink the Mela mood like a Pepsi. This copepod podcast. Very my like a lot. The controversial anyway, then had to walk home from QAFAC. And I like, I don't believe that this beverage actually does anything to you. But I do just remember like being needing the cross the street and looking at the cars, and usually I would jaywalk and just looking at the cars and being like, no I can't handle this right now. They're too fast. I'm gonna break something to you. I think you were high, but they couldn't have made me high. But then I did go home and put on how I met your mother and then fell asleep for like two hours. I mean, that's not with my friend Brad Stafford who introduced me to the mellow mood. Also, eight two boxes of Vega waffles weirdly enough. Yeah. So I think for the rest of today's show Ashley, and Chelsea and yes or no Allegra. No. I don't watch game. Thrones actually in Chelsea are going to hold a discussion roundtable or an across the table. If you will about the second episode of this season of game of thrones. They'll probably also talk about the first episode. But you know, what I guess if you watch the second one you're having to hear about the first one. So if you would like to stay tuned and listen to a spoiler ethic discussion of episode two of season eight of game of thrones. You should absolutely do. So because it's gonna be fucking greats. And then I'm going to immediately. Go home and catch up on this goddamn show because I want to join the party everyone's having so much fun afar. You. You. I watched the first one the first oh the first set of season eight, okay. One episode one episode one technically I did skip seasons three to five and then also season seven, but I've read the book, so it doesn't matter. Things might be a little confusing if you skip season seven because it's not in the books. I don't give a shit assign just read awake. I may have watched partisan seven. I don't know doesn't matter. I read every article about it. I'm spoiled the hell and back. It's fine. If you ever want to talk about upset one season. Oh, yeah. I d- I can dredge up than I remember two scenes. I think I. The room Allegra and talk about that talk about that. 'cause I just watched season one episode one for like to see how far it'd come in. It is bad. Well, and also they say that a season one episode one mirrors season eight episode one. So it's a good idea to rewatch the very first episode. Yeah was. Lows. But that shit was like a medieval soap opera in the acting writing felt way more stilted. Yeah. Feels characters definitely grew into himselves. That's interesting. I kinda wanna talk about that at another point. But for now, I'll let you guys talk about episode two of season eight I don't know why I'd like lost track of that sentence in the middle of it. So are you good to close out the show? Yeah. Cool have fun. Bye. The door is shut. And now we're in west roasts were holding the door holding holding the door. Chelsea what did you think of episode two? I thought that this was honestly like one of the had a lot of character expedition. But I was like, oh man so much gratifying fucking shit happened almost like it's a big setup for something really bad happening. Oh god. I do not like I was tempted to just stop watching after that. Because so much of what I was looking forward to finally happened. I mean, what was the biggest thing you were looking forward to that happened? There were actually it was just the two things equally. It was the aria and injury thing. I didn't think that they would actually do it just because she's been so not sexual or hinted at anything sex related or interested in men women anything what I really really loved their dynamic in the beginning was rooting for that the whole time the second and probably maybe even more important than our country. Actually is the brand thing is actually. In the entire series out of all of the so many fucking characters. Brienne actually is my absolute favorite for so many reasons just like she's just the fucking best. And I get it. I feel like there's some things that she you know, is gone through them. Like, I get girl a good it. And for her to Finally, I mean, not just like, you know, get what she wanted. What she's always wanted to be a night shirt? But I think it's like the symbol of this, man. Who is so talented. I mean in combat regardless of his king slayer name is recognizing her as his equal accepting her and also respecting her like how he stuck up for her. And was like I would fight by this woman. She he respects her immensely, and he just the fact that he's like well fuck it. Fuck traditionally. Especially because even earlier in the episode. She was saying like why what are you doing? Like, why haven't you insulted me in this conversation, like usually an asshole? And it was nice to see Brion who I think has just like worked the whole time. She's like done so much growth in this show that it's like, oh, all of her work was paid off. She absolutely deserved that title and also her Gwendoline Christie act the fuck out of that like a cheese. So like sometimes because you she's so buttoned up. You're like you don't even think about her. But she like went through the whole range of emotions there. Yeah. And it a lot of it was nonverbal too. You could just see on her face. And like, you did I think I love that the most you didn't need words for that. And I don't know if you saw the, you know at the end of the episode, they kind of like have the show runners talk a bit about certain key moments. And they said that definitely like Bryanne does. I mean, if you don't like, in fact, like have feelings for him. But she just couldn't really recognize or process that because it's like barely ever happened to her like, I know she was really into Ren lean it was sort of. But this is different. Like Ren Li. I don't think ever really sorrows an equal. He just sort of was like, okay, he accepted her. Yes. And I think he did to a degree respect her. But like he didn't really see her true value. Yeah. And her worth like Jamie does. And so like for Brian to not only finally have these feelings of validation recognition acceptance. But I think also trying to grapple with like this man, who she probably has feelings for is like an also in front of everybody like there are other people in the room and that he so unabashedly was like, no, I'm not ashamed of you. Like, I'm not gonna make fun of you like your your. Great, and you deserve this. And I think in an interview with Nikolai Koster. Well, that was seriously Jamie's actor I think like he he had confirmed in interviews like that was like an act of love by Jamie that and so for me like I kind of was on the fence to of like, yeah, he realized that Sirius' crazy bitch. Yeah. He realized like know solidifies Briones great. But I wasn't sure if his character would go the extra mile of like will does he like like her that way or find the respect love or like little loves what I mean? I kind of unclear on that and someone else pointed out a police don't point out. But maybe they're like, well, what if like all of that night hood and all that stuff was for nothing, and she gets killed off the next episode of don't you dare. No. You can't just like, okay? I actually have a lot of feelings about this. Because it's like it would really suck to give all these characters a bunch of. Growth and then kill them because we like, basically, this was a whole episode about character growth in some of it was clearly like, but oh like grey worm seems like he might die. Yeah. Had the like we're gonna sail off to the nicest place together. I'm like, oh, no. Yeah. Ms definitely diet. He did the the camera lingered on him as he left. And I was like. Oh fuck. Yeah. Sucks. That's not good. What do you think about Seon? I think they on also because I think Seon finally gets resolution. He finally gets to do he got to do right by his sister. And he gets do right by Santa and like get accepted again in the Starks after Hebron betrayed them. Yeah. And like he's had this whole journey of being shitty. And then getting redeemed, and it I think it's like it's really cool to see that journey would also just like, I don't know it feels like it feels like the end of persona almost words, like you're wrapping up all your social links, and you have to finish mole of these things and tasks, and it's like I feel like we finished up all the social links on a lot of people that doesn't mean they're gonna favor is and get killed. But it does feel. Very final. What do you think personally about the fact that everyone they're like it's going to be safe in the crypt? Go to the crypt. Go to the crypt. And I'm just like all. Yeah. They they must've said it enough times to clearly before shadowing something. But it would also make no sense because all those bodies are like super did. And like, even if the whites could animate them that said Rick in is not super dead. He's pretty freshly dead. Like he could come back, but I feel like the old dead people like anything afternoons. Oh my God. Do you think Ned stark Ned stark? I don't know what happened to his body yet. Because I know his head was on the pike. So I don't know if they like a headless Ned start it back together and sewed it up to berry. I have a feeling that Sam is going to have to be brave again. Oh, yeah. Definitely. And I think oh, yeah. I was just talking about people that have plot armor, and I was thinking of the list of people, and I think it's like aria Santa. Jamie. John, Danny, maybe maybe not Tyrian, but Sam to Sam is lake going to be there to the end. I think do you think what do you think about the John and Danny tension now that she knows so sake I read some good stuff about how the song Jenny song which was a pulled from the books in the flesh out for the show was like basically parroting the decision. One of them has to make one of them has to step aside for the throne. I don't know if I want I don't know if I want either of the rule, I want sands at a real. Yeah. Me too. Actually, I I always felt like John would step aside because he's constantly like, I don't wanna be king. I don't want to be headed the night's watch auto ought to be this and people keep an issues like, I don't know. I just I just got here yell. He literally died in Bobby was like Finally, I get to rest, and then they're like, no bringing you back, buddy. Ain't dead yet. I feel like he. We'll step aside for her because I feel like he's just like fuck this. I just wanna live. I don't care about being king. Yeah. But I don't know what if that would be shocking to me if Danny dies because I always see her as like, oh, she'll survive a thing. And she'll assume the iron throne the end, there's some interesting allows that like of the prophecy of like how whoever is a loaded lights gets their magic sword. Because in the in the books. The prophecy is that they have to temper the sword by plunging it into the heart of their wife. What? Yeah. And so it's like well would. Yeah. Do you think? No, no. I hope they don't fuck again. No. I mean like at mar I mean while they're targeting Hillary. But that that's kind of curious because then I remember series prophecy two of the witch saying specifically that like a more beautiful younger Queen will dethrone her. Yeah. So it's sort of like, well, maybe that I mean, that's what I'm guessing that that's why she'll still stay alive. But that flaming sword thing is kind of scary. Because now I feel like it's very unclear who that Lord of light savior is supposed to be. Yeah. It could be either of them. If you have not read any of the stuff Austin, one of our wonderful, pollyanna employees has been writing on the game of thrones. Like on our side. It's so good. He's been really digging the Lorsch it and I'm like living for. Yeah. No. I don't I this next week's episode of our twenty minutes long. It's supposed to have the longest battle away. Oh, it's supposed to be an hour and twenty minutes law. So every episode now the last four or all like an hour eighteen or an hour twenty one. And here I was thinking that they would do the thing where they're like next episode is the battle. And then the next episode is like the beginning of the battle again, it's going to be the whole. I mean, like, I think it's going to be a chunk of the battle. But apparently, it took them eleven weeks film the battle. Oh, my Lord and all the actors were saying it was fucking health. She's so that's that kind of makes me confused because some people think right that after that the next episode episode three that like all the white walkers stuff will be done no early. And then they're going to an I'm just like, I re-. I don't just like, I don't know. I don't know what's going to happen. I mean, like also there's like search has an army stir. But like what are they gonna do because they can't Marsh north? There's winter. What I feel like isn't. You're gonna stay put. Yes, she went to stay. She's just like, well, I got these people that I mean, I think she's just going to wait for them to die, which is kind of stupid. If you think about it. Nothing but self. Meticulous. Put I love love her outfits, though. Actually, I think the outfits like I love the show. How all of the women have gotten these all the every woman in power has amazing outfits sands looked so good. Yeah. So Ed is aria like aria that cool like one shoulder cloak thing. They all have really cool shoulder Yod happening. I wanted to point that out that like from the beginning. Like, you said it was like sort of like a medieval soap opera, and they're all sort of wearing these like frocks, right? Yeah. But like, I I see that in this. You know in the latest one Sandra has this like dominatrix than going on right with this like chain. And is like dislike striped leather. That's like kind of like painted. I'm just like who who who is doing? I mean, it's awesome. I would like to think that like the armor person at winter fell was just like I'm gonna make you bet S armored. But I think you're right like even with Danny and all the women in power like the wardrobe has just stepped up in a major major way. Like, I feel like they're. They're free to do more creative shit. And now it's like so cool. Also in aria was taking her gloves off his asking Gandhari like who he's been with like most powerful move. I still feel a little weird about her hook up with Kendrick because I feel like I feel like she's never mentioned this at all like she just had a couple of longing looks with him. And I was like this feels like a weird. Character departure for me. I agree. And I think you know, when at the end of the episode, they showed her brief like injury was asleep. And she was just like awake. Yeah. A to me like, I've certainly my first instinct, I'd just blurted it out. It was like does appointed. I I saw a good medium. That was like you think you're getting the hamlet hammer, but you got the needle. And I was like, no that's cold. Oh, man. I say Twitter has been so good. Gave it throws has been good. But Twitter's been very good. Oh, gosh. So funny. I was captioning at is like, I swear this this never happens this never before. But I I don't know if that was like she I don't know if that look was like she's still so unfeeling because she did have to repress a lot of emotion a lot of aria stark. So I wasn't sure if that was a look like was I supposed to feel something because I don't or if it was like her just being awake thinking about the battle. Yeah. So much in that shot, and who knows what she's actually thinking, I think we should wrap it up. But if you guys liked this segment of game of thrones spoiler talk. Let us know.
