Two seven news first alert meteorologist Jordan Evans. Some patchy fog out there to start your Sunday it's very isolated in a few spots like over toward Frederick Maryland and Blumont but for the most part we are clearing out with the fog but it's still very muggy out there and those temperatures are quite warm too in the 70s already. So just like yesterday we'll stay dry through the morning hours into lunchtime I think it's by 3 p .m. when the storms start to arrive from the west once again the storms will pack punch a with some gusty winds some heavy rain and lightning and the tornado and hail threat is very low as we go into the afternoon. We could also see some isolated flash flooding like we saw yesterday just depending on how slow the storms move but overall things should come to an end right before sunset and storms will here be in earlier than yesterday. As we talk high temperatures 90 this afternoon feeling like the storm is going to be in the upper 90s with that humidity as we go into tomorrow the severe weather threat is still there but it's a little lower for the afternoon and I think we'll see those temperatures also stay in the low 90s. The temperatures will stay much the same throughout the next week. By the fourth of July we're starting to dry out just a slight chance in the afternoon but overall things will stay dry on the fourth and for the fireworks forecast in the evening. "Is one of the army installations many of them. That is supposed to be getting a new name. But the board of supervisors there is leading an apparent effort to stop that from happening. Fort belvoir was originally named after an army general back in 1917, but then renamed in 1935 after a colonial era plantation that once stood on its ground. Fairfax now reports the board has an issue with some of the reasons the army's naming commissions added fort belvoir in the first place to a list of installations that need a new name, including questions apparently over historical inaccuracies and uncertainties about how black history should be represented at the fort. "5 28. Traffic and weather on the 8s to Carlos and the traffic center. Thanks, Liz. If you're headed on the eastbound outbound side of New York avenue, still dealing with that crash, though it does look like the a few of those vehicles have been pulled away. I'm only seeing one last emergency vehicle with those blue and red lights flashing there over on the right hand side of the roadway. So watch out for them. They're definitely still blocking part of the roadway, though no real delays. Just be ready to move over if you could. If you're headed on the beltway, things are quiet so far. Southbound I 95 and your approach towards one 98 to left lanes still blocked there. Southbound side of I two 70 after muddy branch road, you got one lane blocked, no delays because of that one. Down in Virginia, got a few new accidents in for you, all happened in here. 5 o'clock tends to be when people hit the road. So this is what's happening. Northbound I 95. I got an accident scene on the ramp to route one. And now if you often take that ramp, you know that it basically turns into an access road, that's where the accident scene is before you head up towards the split for route one or towards fort belvoir. So what you're going to see is that once you're on that access road, you're going to have crash activity on both the far left and the far right shoulder. As of now, I'm accounting several emergency vehicles, but they're not blocking your actual through lanes. Stay down towards the center of the roadway anyways, just in case folks are walking around those vehicles. Also, on I 95 northbound right as you make way past lorton, you've got the far right and the far left shoulder also blocked. Looks like the accident scene involving a single vehicle must have bounced off of one side of the roadway. It ended up on the other side. So be cautious, again, no lanes are blocked, but it may cause a distraction. Remember to stay hyper alert for the lanes that are around you. In other words, stay in your lane. "Rolls in on Monday with a high near 50. I'm storm team four meteorologist by stiffer. Doctor Carlos Ramirez in the traffic center. Thanks Dmitri as 66 has a work zone and an accident scene in the same spot if you're headed westbound towards route 50. You will find that you only have that far right lane available to you because of the work zone and it seems like an accident scene did happen there what ended up happening is they moved those vehicles into the work zone. So in theory, you should still just have that far right lane getting by regardless. Just be a little extra cautious there as you drive by so many of these work crews. As you continue on, it's found past the manassas rest area. They have one out there as well, just that far right lane getting by right now. Also want to take a look here at Braddock road. Looks like if you're headed on the westbound side, soon after the George Mason area, they're approaching fairfax county Parkway. Got an accident scene that's got all lanes completely shut down. Westbound side of Braddock road is completely shut down right now. If you're headed westbound, your last point to bail out is probably going to be surely gate road. You can go ahead and make that right turn ahead towards Main Street to continue towards a fairfax county Parkway. Again, westbound Braddock road near the fairfax county Parkway, completely shut down. I 95 looks good, three 95 is quiet so far. Things in Maryland are looking pretty good on the beltway, 95. It looks good. BW Parkway northbound have the crash near 32, but it looks like it is officially in the clearing stages northbound D.C. two 95 slow, headed past the 11th street bridge, but no accident scenes being reported at this very moment, 50 so far. If you're making your way from the beltway out towards the bay bridge, no issues, but it does seem like they're in the process of flipping towards two way traffic, as of now looks like the westbound span is just about to get ready to get shut down. How did the Ukrainians do it and how have they managed to stay in the fight for this long? A little earlier, CBS News correspondent Charlie dagger joined us from Kyiv to think back to one year ago. It was extraordinary to witness because I was here. We were here when that unfolded and the very next day when they were handing out these weapons at sports centers and along intersections, it was real and it really was happening and they were putting up barricades and we had civilians who were loading up molotov cocktails. And yes, it was not going to be enough clearly. That was not going to be enough to stop one of the most powerful militaries in the world, but we spoke to the defense secretary. Alexei resnikoff. And I put that question to that the civilian soldiers wouldn't be enough. He said, it wasn't just that. We had spotters. We had people pinning when Russian tanks were coming down the street. And the soldiers that they did have, they put them in the right places. There was a place hostile, which is an airport. Just a 25 minute drive outside of the capital. And we went there afterward. And what happened there was extraordinary. The elite Russian pirate troopers were trying to establish that as an air bridge in order to take over the city itself, and they were stopped. Long enough for the full soldiers to go in there to an actual battalion strength to go in there and to turn the Russian forces back. And we've seen these horrific images in places like butcha and urban. These are suburbs of Ukraine that were taken over for a time, but the Ukrainian forces were able to push them back. Do you remember the 40 mile convoy of death? Everybody was expecting what's going to happen there. I myself was expecting, not necessarily that there was going to be a sort of massacre in the streets of key, but it would be under siege that it might fall within 72 to 96 hours as western intelligence and greeting U.S. intelligence was predicting. It just didn't happen. And in the time it took to get the western supplied weapons, the bigger weapons in there, it turned the tide against Russian forces. It has been extraordinary to witness. On the front line at this point, a lot of the people fighting for Russia are conscripts, the Ukrainians to your point are literally fighting for life and death. Where does the fighting stand now? Well, we went out to the front lines east of bakhmut and shut down their places just getting pummeled as you seen along curse on outside of our tea itself. Anything within Russian artillery range is getting hit constantly. And when we went to the place just northeast of Bach moon, their genuinely wasn't a 32nd period where there wasn't an explosion, either incoming or outgoing. And I know there's been a lot of reporting and Ukrainian forces have been talking about artillery. That's really what they need right now. Mostly it's ammunition because they are burning through this ammunition. Far quicker than the United States or any of America's allies or Ukraine's allies can provide it. And we can't get here quickly enough. So it really is an artillery war. In some cases, we talk about trench warfare because French warfare when you see it up close is small arms fire. It's grenades. It really is a matter of a couple hundred yards either way in either direction. So we talk about the fight that has stagnated or stable front lines. That kind of suggests that nothing's going on. No, the opposite is true. They're actually fighting for every inch in their fighting constantly. So along those battle lines, this is a very active and dynamic fight that's going on. Coming up on WTO, what is the commander's new offensive coordinator saying about his new team and his chance to work with who probably will be the new quarterback on that ahead with George Wallace or 14 save big
