LeBron James rips Rob Manfred over Astros cheating investigation: ‘I would be f---ing irate!’

"The national story continues to be the Astros rob Manfred continues to talk he's speaking right now in Arizona apologizing for calling the trophy what he called it a lebron James weighed in on this then you know once lebron tweets about anything it's we are in currently in the eye of the storm but the storm at some point goes back out to sea I know but how many stores have been bigger than the store he need the storms in sports history there were as big as this right now where you want the steroid story was this big I know when that was over several years right that was a whole era that was the great home run chase of ninety eight and then afterwards with bonds than trying to catch up to always Spygate and remember all of that that was a pretty intense time in the world of sports it was in that was right before Super Bowl in it was that one walk through on the Friday this was during a World Series winning season yeah but I I found them guilty I do believe this storm will go out to sea center than most people believe I think this is actually believe it or not good for baseball I said this is generating interest in games we're all going to be curious to know what's going to happen this year the the the the the television ratings pressures games are going through the roof this is not good for baseball now every thought every time someone with whom I don't know probably cheated I really like you want to generate discussion around their sport this is the only way baseball can really do it at a national level anymore resellers tweeted this I kind of agree with some of these said for everyone that thinks that man for to lose his job do you remember how bad it got for Goodell it was way worse than this you just ride it out eventually people move on and I I subscribe to the same theory it's going to be a rough ride and I don't know when that moment will be but I would suspect it'll be sooner rather than most people expect lebron said there's less any tweeted out two tweets listen I know I don't play baseball but I am in sports and I know if someone cheated me out of winning the title and I found out about it I would be laughing irate I mean like uncontrollable what I would slash could do listen here baseball commissioner listen to your players speaking today about how disgusted matter her broken it's that right center about this literally the ball is in your court or should I say field and you need to fix it for the sake of sports what's the fax I don't know where they're going to fix it it is easy to find all these players your face is you're gonna not allow technology in stadiums anymore it is easy though for all these players to speak out and in wag their finger at the Astros but you do have to wonder if you were on the Astros it just put yourself in that position and presented the opportunity probably would have cheated to like the very least would you've gone up to Carlos Beltran or Jose L. Houston Astros sign stealing scandal: Carlos Beltrán had a 'sway over the clubhouse'

"AJ. Hinch had a recent interview with the MLB network. He did not make any excuses for failure to prevent the answers legal practices. But what he mentioned that Carlos Beltran's sway over the clubhouse. Help explain the inaction of hinch and other coaches and players. No one wanted to challenge Carlos. Beltran what you're the manager of a baseball team. You're supposed to be the top guy in in that clubhouse how were you challenged threatened by Carlos Beltran at all? How now of course? I've never played major league baseball so I don't know what the actual clubhouse dynamic is there. I know teams want veteran presence in their for their experience and to help young guys through through their problems and some issues that they go through. Because hey happens to us ever happens to everybody in the league happens to everybody like I mentioned. Some players mentioned there in their first year. They didn't want to challenge veteran. They didn't want to go against the status quo or the status quo that they thought was in place because they were just there's rookie. They didn't know any any better. Was that excuse can only go for so long but you know what? I'm saying

"The Astros then the red Sox now at the New York Mets use a new manager Carlos Beltran and the team agreed to part ways the latest fall out of the Astros sign stealing scandal Thursday's announcement came two days after Boston cut ties with manager Alex Cora who was Houston's bench coach in twenty seventeen one Beltran played played for the Astros the day before that manager AJ henshin GM and jet blue now were fired by Houston New York a general manager roadie van wagon there are mistakes that that that that he recognized as a leader as a player and in accepting all of the information all the events that have transpired it was it was just clear to both sides yeah in order to you know to execute the job the way in which it needed to be that that was to be in a primary challenging Nestle Beltran is out before managing a game which jet passes says was the ultimate road this had to go down ultimately the New York Mets looked at the situation with AJ Hinch losing his job with Alex core losing his job and tried to answer the question are we going to be the team that has a manager who is named rob Manfred in his report on the Astros sign stealing scandal and ultimately the Mets could not come to a point where they were comfortable saying we want to have him around they like Carlos Beltran both personally and professionally but his involvement in this was deep enough and remember they talked with rob Manfred over the last couple days to get a sense of exactly what his involvement was in came away uncomfortable with keeping him on his manager in a statement ESPN Beltran apologized for his role in the twenty seventeen scandal saying what took place did not demonstrate those characteristics that are very important to him and his family so how about who replaces him in our old Eduardo Perez was seen as the second place finisher and he was asked on SportsCenter if he's still interested well right now it means that I'm still here at ESPN it means that my phone is open it always has been I got a lot of text messages from friends what's going on are you they called the haven't called to mind is the New York Mets I believe should start a new should start again the process and find out who the right person is for that job that fits the mold for them moving forward if you got that call you take their call right everybody's call you call me a answer recall the calls me answer doesn't matter I answer but if they're offering that job and Mario we don't know that I can't tell you that's a family decision praise with sports center stage the Tim Healy covers the meds for New York Newsday was on Spain and company regarding other candidates they need to find a new manager and because they did this just a couple of months ago they probably already have a short list there are two guys on their major league staff who already interviewed for the position in October that we throw hot and twenty different that's going to happen to the organization for many years they could be options or they could go outside with all the Astros looking at John given Buck Showalter told the matter go that route as well meantime the Astros illegal use of technology fueled further speculation Thursday that Houston players took their methods and step further by wearing concealed devices that notify them of certain pages including this past season in response Major League Baseball said Thursday explored wearable devices during the investigation found no evidence to substantiate it and Major League Baseball official added the inquiry into wearable devices included the twenty nineteen season the matter began with tweets stating that star players Jose Altuve a now spread when we're devices that bothers down the inside of their right shoulders and that the devices were also controlled by a video coordinator who presumably the coded signs by opposing catchers and relate them to the batter's Marley Rivera on the wheel Kane show made it clear those Twitter allegations and that since closed the count had nothing to do with Beltran for me to say it is not related to the Beltran family it means that the culture and family stand it is in a friend it is in a constant state internet nephew or niece it isn't anybody that comes on the Beltran family if you're a little bit more specific and in the conversation when I say it isn't needs of your eight Alderney Carlos Beltran Out as Mets Manager After Astros' Cheating Scandal

"We got the news about one o'clock today that yet. Another person untied to the Houston Astros. Cheating scandal has lost his job. Carlos Beltran recently hired by the mets to be there next managers out of his job before even having having a meeting in spring training. That's because he was named in. The Commissioner's report released the other day for his role in the Astros signed stealing scandal of two thousand seventeen eighteen Beltran and the mets both indicated. Today that this was a mutual decision but I suspect that a week or two weeks ago even those with knowledge of the science dealing details from two thousand in seventeen believed that Houston. GM Jeff Luneau Astros Manager Aj. Hinch Red Sox manager Alex Cora now Carlos Beltran would still have have their jobs and they're all out and that's where we are probably Vera covers baseball for ESPN. She knows. Carlos Beltran now score very well Marley. How you doing? It's been a crazy week. I think crazy is a very good adjective buster special like no that totally can managers. Were highly touted. I don't have a job today. Unbelievable let's let's start with Carlos Beltran. That is the the most recent news. I'm going to also ask you about Alex. Corsie is we go forward but but I about Carlos. I thought that when the mets didn't put out a statement immediately on Monday evening after the Commissioner's report came out out the fact that the mets didn't come out right away and have a statement from Jeff Wilpon from Brody Bandwagon. And saying this is our guy. Carlos Beltran is our manager edger. And that's what we're going to do moving forward because what was in the report involved the Houston Astros in two thousand seventeen. The commissioners made it clear that Carlos this is not going to be disciplined for his role in that because he's the player at that time but the fact that they didn't put out that statement on Monday and then dragged out into Tuesday day and then Wednesday. You could see that the mets they were weighing their options and just as someone who covered the mets back in one thousand nine hundred seven having worked in New York market for a long. I've never seen an organization that is more affected by public opinion than the mets. And I thought Yep that he at some point. They're going to let him go. What what did you think absolutely couldn't agree more with what you said? And not only that the fact that you know one of the reasons why they hired Beltran was because it was excellent in publicity. Ns S you. And I know spending so much time covering baseball in New York. The mets have failed many times on the PR department. And this would hiring hiring Carlos Beltran. They bought themselves all this goodwill right the return of the prodigal son with everything that had happened when he had left the comments of the Wilpon when he used to be a you know. Oh a mets player. Everything gets kind of water under the bridge. There's just you know one of the most impressive press conferences that I have attended you know at city field so it was just as big. Pr Moment and then all of a sudden I agree with you. They got swayed by public opinion. And one of the things that Carlos Beltran and as you mentioned before which is important you state. The aren't family our friends of mine. So my activity here Sometimes can be a little bit swayed but the point is that can handle the media. He's been you know he was a player for twenty a years worked on a capacity assistant with the Yankees and so on and I feel that this was in my opinion. Definitely a wilpon decision muster. Oh No no question. The way this was described I think Carlos but at a statement they talked about a mutual decision. No way like this like Carlos I think absolutely was set on going forward but they say as all the conversation was taking place in New York to columnists were were taking aim at this and they are asking questions. Well what. What did the mets ask Carlos about? After the first athletic story came out about the signed stealing. And how would the mets feel about Carlos not having credibility with the media and it became a real hot topic on talk radio here and one stat ball started rolling downhill and then Aj hinch losses job and Jeff Luna lost his job and Alex. Cora lost his job. There was no way the mets leadership was going to stand in the way of that momentum and stand up and say in the past it was in the past which by the way is what Brody van wagon and said back in November. He kind of indicated like well. That's not really a mets problem. That's an astros throws problem. But their their their words their tone definitely changes week the only aspect that I can you know Ah have gone in this process. One of the things were Carlos may have had some input. Devil's advocate here. Is that one of the things that Carlos Beltran they'll turn and and you and I have covered a great deal of is the fact that he does not like off. The field distractions buster. And I think at that is the part or they'll go. You know what this is the right decision. He is one of those guys that likes to talk baseball. I remember what it was like the whole scandal with Iran in the Yankees Yankees Carlos Beltran was part of the Yankees Organization at the time as a player and he refused to engage in sort of those conversations so there is an aspect of how much he doesn't like the distraction and then that part certainly you know he could have had any input on but I I agree with you. This isn't you know the mets founded selves in an island. Having to make a decision and they got swayed by Jim Crane did and obviously you know what the Boston Red Sox decided to do. After the imposition of a penalty suspension to Alex Score. So let's breakdown go by the way. Yeah exactly breakout some other elements of this What do you think the mets miss out on? Not Having Carlos Beltran altron their manager. Carlos Beltran is an excellent leader. And I think that's one of those things that has been a little bit missing the New York Mets Organization. He drives arrives you. He's one of those guys that inspires others other players and he also galvanizes clubhouses right. He he was the player for the day when he was with the Yankees. Hanky along with Andrew Miller he always has always been so well spoken and he crosses that kind of you know barrier quote Unquote Latino players. And you know the players that are not Latino and I felt that he could galvanize that clubhouse very very well and I think that's the number one thing that the mets are going to miss out on and this is a man who obviously has left the game for a long time doesn't need the money this isn't right and it was honestly doing this job because he truly wanted to make an impact in organization that really has lost their way a little bit in the last couple of years so I think it's a huge loss. So they mess. We're GONNA do not have Carlos Beltran but I do understand the decision. In terms of the whole quote in quote distractions off the field now. I'm not as close to him as you are if I was I think and he asked me my advice in this situation. Now that he's lost the job of the mets would. I think I would tell them was Carlos you need to hold a press conference in New York have rent out a room at a hotel or restaurant invite all the reporters to come and basically say I'm here to answer all your questions about what went on with Houston with me back in two thousand seventeen eighteen. Because I think that's the only way he's going to be able to manage at some point down the road and all I heard for the last decade is this is someone who absolutely terrific manager in the future future. He has to be great at this job but I think that would allow him to and let's face he's never going to move past this. It's already cost him his job but at least to get past those questions would be to tell the writers. I'm here to answer every question you people have about what take place and I'll tell you exactly really what happened. What do you think about that? I don't know that I mean I. I would love for that to happen. Let's be very clear. I don't know that the benefit for for Carlos it's worth it If if one of the drugs and he said this in an introductory press conference specifically said I didn't want any job I don't need need a job. I wanted to stay in New York. Carl has very very young children. They're all right like very yes. Three kids are all very young during school in your this is where they reside the kids go to school will. So there's only two baseball jobs that he would apply for the New York Yankees and the New York mets and he's not gonna get either one of those jobs so I just don't think that at this point point it benefits the family anyway and I do think that Carlos will do what's best for his family especially having young children Buster and I know you know that you had young children at one time. It's the point that these kids have to see the paper tomorrow. They're going to be in school. They're old enough. You know and I feel like it would rehash a lot of topics. Is that right now. Maybe people are going to move on you know and and just gone from that now if he later on when the kids are a little bit older he wants to do something else. Maybe at that point but but at this point I just don't see the benefit.

"The baseball world waiting on the mets and something anything being on the status of Carlos Beltran the longer distracts on the louder the questions will get Astros and red SOx acted swiftly Beltran a little different case of course in any event a little bit more from yesterday's Today's press conference up in Boston where Red Sox principal owner John Henry explain richly all see this organization as a family that feelings operating yesterday in making making a tough decision it operates throughout the organization daily mutual partying with Alex Cora as manager chairman. Tom Warner says wasn't even a contentious. ATTENTION DISCUSS ALEX by his own admission. We agreed played a central role in what went on Houston and we all agreed that two it was wrong. Of course step down without a fight leaves the Red Sox with a gaping hole pitchers and catchers set to report for spring training and three and a half weeks so new. GM higham bloom. Bloom needs to find himself a new skin. There's no question it's an unusual time to be a doing a managerial search at the point in the winter that we are being this close to spring training it's impossible for that. Knock to be a factor. He's got some work to do same for the Astros though. It seems they have some in house candidates to replace. It's getting frustrating man to sit here and know that you know late in my career I probably COULDA had a title. You know maybe seventeen or eighteen But you know we got cheated out of out so you know team kind of doing something. That's not within the rules of the game with the Astros investigation complete in the punishment handed down. Should they have been forced to vacate the world series title. I had never thought what about that but maybe yeah I mean why not when people were talking about them giving up the title. You know you can't give it to the dodgers and obviously you can't give it to us and seventeen but Vacated vacated I'm you know I wouldn't be mad at that do anything for you than vacating the title on now. MLB is currently investigating the Red Sox as well to determine whether he implemented similar signs stealing in their twenty eighteen world series winning season season and now we are all awaiting to see what his punishment will be. What was your reaction to the report of his wrongdoing and his subsequent firing well? I wasn't surprised that he wound up leaving from what I understand from talking with sources that he knew as soon soon is the astros fired. Aj hinch and they fired. Jeff Luneau their general manager that his position with the red sox wasn't tenable depressing intimate set in terms. The suspensions and at the very least Alex is going to probably get a year and if they were to stack on the extra counts for the red SOx walks in two thousand eighteen at the end of that investigation. He might even get more time than that and so I think he totally understood that they're in a position where they were going to have have to consider a change. We met with Alex yesterday and everyone went into that meeting trying to answer. The question is what was in the best interest for the Boston. Red Sox Alex was professional understanding that he had made a mistake and and so after a couple of conversations. We all mutually agreed that we needed to part ways. But we do it. Alex feels like to some degree. Sorry that he's leaving on his own terms just as someone who's known for a long time and worked with them. I certainly feel that way a year ago. I think we would talk about about. Alex is being the most powerful manager in baseball and now we don't know if he's ever going to manage the big leagues again. But you worked with him when he was at. ESPN right right right. Worked with him for four years. ESPN did shows with him was around him and then after he left. You know when I would do my work on Sunday night. Baseball all or other type reporting and you talk to him or you're around the red sox and you watched how he interacted with players boy. He ascended so quickly and I can't remember someone who probably was better suited for the position of manager and saying I can't sit here today and predict that he's ever going to manage again in the major leagues seeks buster. What did baseball say that? Alex Cora actually did in Houston that he was essentially at the center of the conversation. An that had begun with Carlos Beltran and some of the players about refining. This science stealing Alex was the one according to the report who ask ask employees to install a monitor that could be used right behind the Astros dug out by the way that monitor was located. Did No more than thirty feet where. Aj hinch their manager was standing. No more than thirty feet were. Alex was doing his work bench coach during the course of the game. So basically everybody knew it was there. Everybody I've heard stories in the last forty eight hours about how members of the Astros have reached out to people though the teams comes after the athletic came out with an initial report and tried to assure peers competitors. Hey don't it wasn't that serious that that story was overblown and then when the report came out with the details the other day there is so much anger there are friendships that are fractured. Because of how some members the Astros not only did they cheat back in two thousand seventeen but in the two months that followed the athletic report. They've been lying. Did their peers about what they were doing. Well Chorus reputation like around baseball before this news. He was known as the guy who would hold things together. During a moment of crisis he took over the national team from Puerto Rico leading in the WBZ. He showed such a great way of dealing with players connecting with people at that time the Puerto Rico national team potentially had three shortstop Havi Abayas. Hi as an Francisco Lindor Carlos Correa and among baseball nerds like myself. We were all wondering like how is. How is Alex GonNa work through those Egos you know? How is he going to convince one guy to be the third baseman who got to be shortstop and one got to be the second basement any did it? And when he was the Astros Bench coach in two thousand thousand seventeen men he made such great connections with Alex Bregman at George Springer. They loved Alex Cora the the players loved Alex other people in Baseball. Absolutely love Alex. When the Red Sox officials who put in this position where they have to fire him they talked about that how much that's regard they have for him and I think that's I has been universal leading up to this whole decision? What was he like as a player at the time he was drafted by the dodgers? He was regarded as an excellent prospect but he never really developed into the consistent offensive player that the dodgers thought he was going to be. He carved out this role through a fourteen year career of being a role player but he was smart guy and was always known like Carlos. Beltran is someone who it was really good at ascertaining what the other team was doing with it signs for decades there was an accepted form of stealing signed and that would be the runner standing at second base and figuring out what the catcher signs were there with a lien or with the placement of a hand on a knee they could could convey to the hitter. What the next pitch was? And that's the reputation that he developed early on so he was signed stealing back that he was good. Good at picking up on Pitch Tipping. I'm sure as smart as Alex is. As much experience he had in baseball. He was tremendous. It picked up signs when leading off at second base and potentially relaying back to the hitter so despite that science stealing ability outscore score never really broke through as a player he retired in two thousand eleven as a career to forty three hitter but in twenty sixteen buster he returns to the Big Leagues Leagues as the Astros Bench Coach now Houston is known as extremely progressive forward thinking organization. How much were analytic Atlantic's and video? Apart of course coaching methods it was a lot in terms of what he was responsible for with defensive positioning. I've had conversations with Alex when we would talk about an infielder. Who may be wasn't that good and didn't have that much range and Alex would give me awake and say he'll be fine? We'll put them in the right place. That's part of what he excelled at when he was with the Astros putting a guy in the right spot to make a play a now the Astros under Jeff Luneau always had a rule that reporters could not talk to coaches. They're only organization baseball. That I know of that made that rule. I think in part because they wanted to protect their information. They didn't want the coaches talking about what they were doing. But I think Alex like Brent Strom their pitching coach. Aj hinch. They got a lot of information. A lot of feedback from the front office that they wound up using the culture in the organization has come under a lot of scrutiny really for months now. The commissioner statements singled out. Do you think Cora felt built enabled. Perhaps by the Astros focus on winning at all costs absolutely when you look back at the history of the Astros after Jeff Luneau took over. Boy does this seem inevitable. 'cause I mean they SP- have absolutely skirted right at the edge of of competitive propriety. All the way through when you think about what happened when Jeff took over the team. Not only did they tank. They tanked in a way that no one had ever seen before in baseball. You know in one year I think it was two thousand thousand thirteen. They cut their payroll down to the point. Where only one player on the team at the end of the year was making over a million dollars? One player I know what the commissioner said about the word tanking but I can tell you privately so many executives at that time. We're going to see what they're doing. They are absolutely they're not even pretending to. I have a representative major league product. It was clear from their actions. Then that so long as you wound up winning and you got the number one pick and and you pick Carlos Correa or you wind up with Alex Bregman. That would justify what they did. That same sort of mentality was in play during the stealing stuff

Sony Skips E3 2020! Does Sony Even Need E3?

"Are are doing a Sony event? We saw a story about this recently. They are doing a Sony playstation experience in the store from now until mid February. Sorry right until you off the PS four this sort of reaction videos have just replaced that crowd thing and you get the same exact result but with a controlled piece of marketing that yet. But I liked it. Like Nintendo world store is like there's a bunch of toys and stuff like it's a toy store it's all Nintendo anybody in their loves Nintendo. You can go to the Sony store like buying a Bluetooth speaker. And there's a bunch of people losing their lose out mine. I crash bandicoot total tangents. My Dad used to work across the street from the Sony store so whenever it was like the summer and I'd go in for data the New York City with him. I'd go over there and on one side of play these new exciting games on the PS three. And there's a starbucks there and I can get a cool Frappuccino. Ali Play but also on the other side you can watch crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon massive. TV Vietnam have. You considered a micro. Yeah it was like okay. I don't really WANNA laptop. Just WanNa keep playing guitar hero. But I'll do this so we'll see if they turn that they do have another Sony. The venue in New York that they use they might start to do stuff. They're more frequently will see also kind of shifted a bit to being more. You're europe-centric yeah there's there's games com which is massive vendor's Paris Games week which they've had a big presence before I still felt like they want to spread things out. They're going to be a Taipei game show and a couple of weeks. We keep sort of like very very much alluding to the fact that a lot of the stems from the idea that the asa is maybe a little prickly and maybe the show has gotten sort of out of control expensive but the last three press conference got from Sony was kind of a messy one and I think that maybe that made maybe broke them for a bit and made them go back to the drawing board on everything. Yeah we're talking about the God of war thing. Our favorite moments were not from that one. No twenty which is where the show has it has great stuff in it but it was like. Here's all all of us in a church listening to the last of a score. Quick break to this other place. where the sharing Arisen Nevil to trailer? Now we have SID Shuman over there on another stage talking about God of war new game plus okay back inside to another location. It was a very weird still did experience that I do agree with you. I think that really turn them off. The idea like okay we need to readjust what we're doing right totally totally I mean. I imagine the amount of moving parts in planning something like that took. I've heard from like insiders and friends at work at big publishers that e three the press conference planning and rehearsals take place months and months. Show like the the writing and this and the opening and also the amount of moving parts and something like that were at a game at the last second will be like ooh. We're not ready. We read the e three and comecon live show for Aegean and it's like it is nerve racking and it is a lot of planning and inevitably fifteen fifteen different things go wrong every twenty minutes. Yeah yeah and that's without an audience on hand out like the scale of that without people from all over the world coming into like work on it and so we don't have like exclusive world. We're like a dog and pony show by comparison ethic they're like we'll have corpses hanging from the ceiling and then we're going to have the entire crowd walked to the next theater hitter. A bunch of bamboo forest. What now i Sony can control it? They can make sure nothing. Weird happens like that ever again unless they want it to and so the thing is when they. I pulled out of three last year. We were all bummed but that was also because it coincided with them pulling like ending essentially sunsetting sidelining. PS X. for awhile and and so all of their sort of direct connection with like some sort of actual living breathing audience was gone in the same year and we got the state plays blaze which is a great sort of like replacement. But we didn't. We didn't really have anything that was sort of just like here's an event. Yeah and there's no humanity to Sony right now like no disrespect to all the people working there of course but in the same way that Microsoft can bring out Phil Spencer and instantly. The xbox audience knows him or I mean there's countless executives at Nintendo but doug bows. We're now Beltran so many other people especially tree house. They saw me a moto kicking. He's still pops up every now and then. It was like I went fishing. Here's a new fitness game. And this this Sony statement mentioned are focused on making sure fans feel part of the playstation family and have access to play their favorite content. I would hope that means a bit of a more face to face ace relationship. Obviously her host is now the head of worldwide studios. Shuhei has taken a different position when it comes to indies. That's his focus for now and we don't have laden anymore. He obviously he was but he didn't really have this persona for the he for the Playstation audience. Excuse me he would come out maybe twice a year and I ah. I think what's crazy about all that is I think that they they will once again someday. kind of like bring that back up and or maybe not because it's like maybe that's not necessary anymore. Yeah maybe you don't think it distracts you don't need like sort of like you know not like just sort of like a celebrity figurehead or something. I don't know if that's even unnecessary cool. Yeah exactly I mean. We went from like a man and abandoned. Who'd costume to like pretend businessman with Kevin Butler to like actual businessmen who'd come out announcing maybe their job should be to do the business stuff than to come out and show stuff? I don't know it's no. It is odd that people who are in very executive high level roles. Also have to in this this field be a persona and out there. That is a very unique thing. Yeah Yeah I mean no matter what like you need. Somebody needs to count at the game awards except apt something for something event right and a lot of times. It's people who are behind the scenes making art all year and music and mission and they and they're like thanks you you know as opposed to. I mean like if a one brothers movies when a movie wins at the Oscars the president of Warner Brothers doesn't come out on stage right whereas like Phil Spencer would probably come out on stage for an next big win for you'll get a director and actor who's used to working in front of a big room full of people on. Yeah Yeah No. It's it's really interesting. I think one thing I wanted to say was I think this makes the Sort of Kind of cat and mouse game of chicken with xbox all the more fascinating in terms of who says what and when when we'll get pricing announcements on next console stuff is now totally up in the air. Yeah and I do want to get to some thoughts about when the timing of that will be. I did WANNA ask one other sort Sony thing before we jump ship to another topic but in terms of what he three his representative for a lot of people that has been. Here's when the mainstream pays attention to games. That is often a big selling point. We talked about it. It's like the USA. Today is in the Times of the World Look Games for this week and we said that a bunch of the office like people say that offhandedly and I was thinking about that a lot. I wrote a piece on Nigerian about this. I don't think that's true anymore. And especially see that with the way place. He shouldn't have ruled out. PS Five News. The first major beats of news were from wired magazine using not from playstation. I what do you guys think about. You know the need for the mainstream eighty three. I think Sony if they want them can just go to them. I think that we are no longer sort sort of like a hobby enthusiasts corner show you know just like a bunch of people being like pay attention to us. Yeah it's I think there's a lot of work to be done and and a lot of strides to make but I think in a lot of ways we sort of punch through that layer and we are somewhere now where we don't don't necessarily need mainstream him to pay attention to us but be they'll they'll look either way because it's going to happen and there's going to be announcements all year long thing is that Three is very much structured to be like. Hey it's June here's stuff that's coming out in November through December and it's that doesn't exist anymore and come out year round. It's a nonstop kind of just factories. A conveyor belt kind of yeah other than July every I mean you can take our commercials during the Oscars and the Super Bowl and all these other tentpole events that happened the world series the NBA finals. We that happened a lot actually. Yeah it's weird because like as star wars fans were maximum. Rose grumbling that we have to like look at like some football game once here ear and be like you're making me watch football so the new star wars trailer but like it happens. I think we talked about this. A few weeks back with the last of us but like that's obviously one of playstation the biggest games that are probably be a spot for that in the Super Bowl or championship game. That'll be the first time a last of US fan probably hears about the last of us just because of the way they're tuned in the industry. Yeah you can reach people a lot of different ways now and it doesn't have to be at three. Yeah you have one hundred plus million. ps four is out there. You can start there like yeah put it on the going back to the textbook comparison like the way that spreading information was in nineteen ninety-five like things were a lot slower. And now it's like I don't know I was looking at read it on my phone. The other day and I was was like how people used to read magazines kind of bored eating a salad. And you pick up a thing. I will read this but the differences is constantly updating constantly changing. And Yeah you know. There's that it kind of viral stuff where somebody sees something that makes them think of someone else. Now like share this with that person like people will just actively send each other clippings so it's crazy how McConnell to rent floorspace and pay thousands of dollars for carpet. You're going to use for a week. So it's definitely sort of outdated way at pershing delivering misinformation And before we get to the playstation and xbox question of it all I do WanNa talk briefly about what this means for three because very pointedly in that statement Playstation statement says we have great respect for the ASA as an organization but we do not feel the vision of two thousand twenty. Is the right venue for what we are focused on this year. They're focused on two major first party games coming out before the end of the summer with ghosts and the last part two plus dreams and MLB and then the PS five and this has been a show in traditionally where you do show new consoles so if that's not fitting with what E.. Three is to one of the council makers feels to me like E.. Three isn't a bit of a weird

Recapping a wild, dark and conspiracy-laden week in Major League Baseball

"The Boston Red Sox fired manager Alex core yesterday just a day after he was named by the commissioner rob Manfred is one of the prime architects of the technology driven sign stealing scandal the twenty seventeen Astros when he was bench coach before becoming the red Sox manager in eighteen that leaves the Mets to decide what to do with their new manager Carlos Beltran who was cited by Manford as being one of the Houston players who led the sign stealing caper he has been suspended and won't be because all the players who were interviewed by MLB were given immunity is on record as saying I had no idea what was going on with the Astros in two thousand seventeen with the sign stealing and yet he's mentioned in the report that he knew all about it so he has to explain now to the manse was he truthful with them in their interview with him when they hired him if they find you wasn't then there might have to be a change there also that's team Kirk June on ESPN and this is former first baseman mark to share I don't think the Mets have a choice either they have to fire Carlos Beltran in Alex Cora were the main culprits to share adding the New York Mets are in an impossible situation there's no way that Carlos Beltran especially in the pressure cooker of New York there is no way he can be the manager of the Mets the Daily News and the post and all of the tabloids will eat up Carlos Beltran every single day until he's fired the Astros have been hit hard with fines suspensions in the loss of draft picks the red Sox are likely to be hit hard as well assuming MLB finds they engaged in illegal sign stealing and don't be surprised if several more teams are nailed in this

"Is You know the buck stops with you. And that's what's going to happen. And when rob Manfred Said said that he was going to punish the manager the general manager those guys if they're caught he followed through on that so that was all issue with. Ah No no issue with the Beltran thing. I'm with you on. Because he was a player. And this and the mets in this is this is the question that I don't know forever now is if the mets knew about Carlos Beltran's involvement in this prior to the hiring cycle. Would they have taken him seriously. Lisa Kennedy and I think my answer is with the public pressure out there. I'd probably say no I would agree. But that's a hypothetical now that we're way past right now we're in a situation. Where are they already hired him? This is an issue with the Houston. Astros this is not an issue with the New York mets and he is now the manager of the team not a player who was partaking in this video stuff. So if you if you're one of these people that says Carlos Beltran absolutely needs to be punished for this and it's up to the mets to do that then okay fine. majorly basically said go back and they need to punish Carlos Beltran for an every other player that was involved because just because he retired and got a managerial job doesn't mean that he needs to be punished. More than the other players that were partaking protected by the Union sensually. That's all it's about if you talked to anybody. Audie who's got any knowledge of the Players Association baseball you rob Manfred does not want this thing to drag out for the rest of his life. And that's exactly what will be going on there'd be litigation there would be fights there would be headlines. The Players Association is not going to lie down if they were taking money out of the pockets. Major League baseball it is out of their player's pockets. No way so manfred in this whole deal. What he's thinking is what is the way where I look like on handling handling this in a stern way but also getting it over with and this is the way to and I thought he did and that was my point initially actually? I thought what Major League Baseball did was enough. And if the red SOx thought they had their guy in Alexkor than they shouldn't have fired him and if the mets think they have their Guy Carlos Beltran do not fire him before he manages the game. Well here's the problem right. So if you think about Alex Cora now people believe that Alex Cora could get an even larger suspension than what. Aj hinch hat. So Alex Cora's got a contract track. That runs I think it's two more years than an option right a team option. So let's say it's a two year suspension which very well could be so now all of a sudden you have to the two new manage bring. This guy hadn't heard it would be that long if you think it could be that long that makes sense. Then there's no point but then even if it's a year you know you've you've got a year with a different manager that you're bringing you. Well I guess what the Astros a dizzy elevated Joe is spotted. The bench coach. I guess is probably going to be the guy with the red sox you you know. Now they're going to go look for another manager. It just seems like you can't in baseball with all the pressure there is to win. You can't just hit the pause button. You gotta go out and get the the right right guy. And they moved on from Alex Cora. And that's IT and now they don't have to worry about it. And they don't have to worry about the weirdness of him coming back after a large suspension and dealing with all. That's culture. I just I to me the the Sean Payton example works if you if you like your guy meaning. Aj this case then. I think the Astros could've listen. In Year suspension. We got fined but we believe in him. You know especially if especially if you believe that he was aware of it. Tried to stop it. I I guess you could certainly come down harsh on him for not fully stopping. I guess but the same thing goes for what was going on with Sean Payton. They withstood the one year. Brought him back move long. Yeah but the thing that makes that a false equivalency for me though is that head coaches in football mean so much more to the success of a winning team Then the manager and baseball in my opinion. Let's say it's hard to get rid of a guy who's been in successful as Sean Payton or as successful as Bill Belichick. You know when you're a baseball team. Alex Cora the Red Sox world series before Alex Cora got there. Yeah they won with him as well. But you know a manager's manager head football the whole coaches is the man and especially the way they'd Major League baseball is this days with general manager has so much power all right here we go again. There's people that are angry on the phones and we're we're GonNa do that stuff as the day goes on. CEELO is here and we liked to chronicle his mistakes when he joins us at the thing to do he'll come in here and I have at least five or six awkward moments and that's what we love about the Great Ceelo..

"This I was wearing my. I was not wearing my Sunday best that day I remember it was wearing juicy. Couture sweats and like a mad. Little horrible I take off and they they were taking my picture. Where's this these guys are taking pounding was first of all? I started crying in the middle of the street and I begged them not to do you it and they said sorry. We're just we're not once this is off. Do it get the fuck about you. I said Okay I if you're going to take your taking pictures of this. Do you mind if I at least go upstairs. I live right here girl. I ran to my apartment. I dropped my dogs off. I looked in my closet. Awesome and I said what am I about to put on for this photo of me being outed and I started. I was crying at the same time timers looking through my clothes but I said this is really happening right now. I wasn't expecting the fear and I grabbed a nerve damage and Alexander McQueen sports a little blazer and I threw it on. I tossed my hair and I put some luke loss and I ran downstairs and I said take your fucking picture and they snapped after picture and I said no please leave me alone and I went inside and I immediately called him and I think that choice of change Alpha right but I and it normally they want they ran the picture with me in the Alpha but the I remember calling him and I said so I guess the press here and you guys have talked to them and you give them a quote or whatever or something he's like. I never gave them a quote and I was like listen. They were just here. He didn't believe me they're here to tell him they were here to explain. He came home. We had a talk. I said get the get your shed and just leave it the Fuck God and go your Dad's get the fuck Outta here. Go to your father's house and just leave me alone. And then I remember. He called me later and he tried to talk to me and then he said that once the paper hit the next day he when he called me and he gave after a few days. He said that this was he didn't know what to do. And it was going to accuse he's GonNa stay at his dad's for a while and I was just like okay. If he feels that he doesn't WANNA come back to this relationship because of this amounted right before if his family family didn't figure it out would have been fine but now everybody knew doug the difference and that's that's that's what I always always wonder also with my partner where I'm like you except me. You love me. You love Miami family. We our families accept each other but do you accept that the world knows about you the US well now. It's hard because for them. It's layered on them always ready you born ready to the battle but you're ready to always go for battle. These guys don't know how to prepare for battle and they live with an extra stigma of course but I always feel like maybe if I would have been opened the beginning but then I think about it on like now we lived our life that we lived it and it took me about a month to leave my apartment after that happened. I had to have a friend come over and help me walk my dog. The dog I was getting their jobs to get jobs to do jobs and then I got called by glad to come in talk to them about what happened in the media and glad said that they would counteract story and that I can go on talk shows and talk about what happened and they would they would help me support you and then I thought my man. I talked to my mom. And she's like you're just adding fuel to the fire and you're just GonNa make and then some people told me that if you just leave it alone and go away and so I just left it alone and I hope that it went away. And then I met people like Laverne and people like that and then I started emerging myself into the the nightlife and gay culture again because he supported me. I met people like you and I thought other Trans Girls. I met Jamie Clayton. Yeah she's Salon Jamie Kane in came to me and she's like you know I'm an out transsexual and I'm an actor and she brought me to an acting class and we started he.

He went to work one day. We were going to go to marriage. Counseling Fish Marriage counseling running Super Sis married cheating counseling and I was in a movie at the time and remember the glamour. Yeah I said if in China they can do it from Corpus Christi Evenlyn Greg tex-mex and walking my all three dogs Wednesday when he went to work. And somebody came to me with What was it the New York Post and they said You Victoria Beltran walking my dogs and I that was a one and a guy came with cash and I was like excuse me what's going on? And the guy the woman who was a reporter at the guy taking pictures they said it was in New York Post here in a movie called the dictator. But it was probably like Victoria's secret two thousand three like that. You had to have a number of everything was taken. Everything was taking guys and dating. Then you've got your engine was easy because you don't have to say nothing. It was easy but it's a little more tricky. I felt more. I remember this one specific instance. I went to a here. Elliot's Khobar Dj. And I thought that was amongst friends and people that knew me and knew my tea and so I had some guy there. We had a whole night of just like boning boning all night and then the next day that was fabulous I thought he felt fresh and glowing. I didn't even think about. I mean we don't go around thinking I'll we'd all day or in the country and I'm living I'm just GonNa get it and then I remember. "A job? If you're into Abracadabra shaft years ago to get well Jeez location my name like like we all spend. It's goodie bag my lungs. I went to Abracadabra Wendy because I was just wondering around the day Robert was at the hair salon and allman. My roommate was doing modeling jobs and I was just walking around the daytime. I went to eighteen sparkled. who was a drag queen? Who worked at send you lose? And she got me the job there then from there they owned save the robots right. I started doing during the door at save the robot with Natalie cates with her name with charities at the time and a bunch of other people in the nightlife. And that's what I started doing and then I got into I. I wanted a job I got. I started dating guys. I got an relationships and One guy we live in the upper east side became real fish. It's amazing when you take the train my eighteen. Don't they said don't go past fourteenth street so I never would and guys is to invite me out and I'd be like oh the restaurants on fifty anything new. I can't can't go passport jetstream. Yeah yeah no I thought it was where the normal people live. Oh that's no that's normal. I'm weird downtown down. And if Gopez dangerous key for me to tonic. Might just like that's really like I think people you really infused that in our psyche. When we're like Young Trans Women? They always try to like that. Don't go into this area. Yeah they can restrict. Our Guy was remember. Remember guys we've asked me out and they'd be like other restaurants going to meet me. I would say now until one day I met a guy in the meatpacking district at what was the place is called. It was called Jackie Sixty. I met a guy who's really nice and all my friends were Trans and drag Queens and club kids and models and whatever they were just like oh he thought nice and he gets us. He really likes you so then I felt then he lived on. He got an apartment. Bree side we moved didn't together and got a job at a at a modeling agency booking models and then from there I started hire me as a model to I did maximum. FHM I and Manning's health and all those magazines did some stuff in playboy. And then how and I met all the girls all the fish girls all the SIS. Gendered girls who renders. I want to ask you this episode. Also we want to talk about disclosure within the Trans Community so like when do we like. How do we navigate our way sue through our through? Our love lives through our entire lives with the you know what people make us feel. Sometimes it's like a secret when it's like it's like for me growing like getting into like my career. I felt like I'm a musician. I'm making music this. Here's my Song List Oklahoma album but it was always like because I didn't talk about that people made me feel like I was keeping a secret. So you're saying for your model in two days when we go on auditions we they would tell me. Don't let the client know the client found out. They didn't want to book anymore. So so like when I did all these stuff and even and then I started doing acting jobs and I got with the dictator movie. They didn't know and then I felt like while we we shot in Spain and where we were shooting out there I felt like people got sort of talking and the pressure I got nervous. Did you feel nervous even going into that or you were just like. This is what I'm doing. I'm confident I'm doing this thing or grain. Ever feel the need talk about that or did you also feel like this. We're GONNA play this game. I mean anti pants on the person at every everybody I felt was a different target. I felt Komo look at this person. They may not accept me. They may not or this person. I know they will this other person. I'm not sure he too conservative. So it's almost like you have to look at our and kind of navigate your way being transparent being real and looking so much like a gender woman or just the woman who we are. Because that's we grew up as we it like you. I'm sure I'm sure we were just people say well. It was like to become a man to a woman. I was a little boy up into this woman. Yeah so the being being real I feel a double edge sword because we look so passable that nobody knows the trends so we have to disclose that and people who who are not as possible. They may not feel there as lucky but they also they have the ability. That people already know that they're trans so they can just walk into a room and people and the guys that are going to talk to talk to them or the people that are going to gravitate to them know that they're trans with us. I feel like it's different. It's difficult because they don't know we're trying so we have to tell them they tend to win. Is the right time to tell them right. I don't know like I say I. For instance one of a modeling job like with Maxim. Like did you go in there. And you're like okay. My Team I should do. I feel the need to tell someone or would that cross your mind or no because I grew up in Texas and I had all these girlfriends who are really cool girls and we were sexy and we were. We used to stop and so I felt confident enough to I was just one of the girls. Yeah and my body's grade everything's greats. Every the package for me came together very very easily just came together very well. I feel like for being transformed you and felt really like settled into your woman. uh-huh and I remember that day when when we shot shot with him a few times but I remember the first time. I Say I'm doing your that. Is that was. That was like I remember calling my friend. Mike Boyfriend at the time and I'll say and he was like do it. Call me later it. It was but dating. I felt like I didn't date. I always just let people gravitate take to me and when they gravitated to me. I said Okay game on if you come to me and you want to get to know me and you're like hey we should hang out. What your number Blah Blah Blah? Then what's your pager number remember back. Then what's your what's your. Oh my God hotel. Seventeen for moment before I met up with Gramercy Park Hotel to town anymore with a Eighteenth street she went above fourteen with eighteen. I love the I remember the pain. Uh and they might have cell phones but they would they would ring us at the hotel getting loved the ring in the Hallway and the hallway. If you have a call and it'd be hello and they'd be like hi. I met whose addict since you lose before anybody had facebook and instagram. So you get uh-huh somebody had to call them. Imagine then I do myself I mean I don't know how old about beepers I'm thirty. Something and remember guys call either the day which is like to go out and I would call him back in a few days. I have to think about this and I would talk to my friend and I was just I don't know why but I just didn't want to brain and I think with that was because of your trends your identity was it because of that you're scared to go through the whole process of disclosing disclosure. I think it was the disclosure part because I I wasn't about okay. If the guy was calling me on our hotel phone or on my pager or getting a hold of me he ran into me again and he was like. Oh Oh my God I want today. You Moore's calm. I think it was me thinking about the whole package. What our friends going to think? How is he going to tell us? And we'll get so so I would build like this wall. These walls. These bricks was just start building up and building up. And I'm just like forget it. I'm not going to go on so you own your own. Like talk yourself out of talk myself out of the opportunity now. No you found fast forward to this day and age where we and everybody was running around Internet. I was dating like crazy. Trust me as soon as I got my third Jorie Graham as I got my sex change. Here's here's the kid next to. What is it called Gender Gender Gender? Come from me. Rearrange successor. Change or rearrange about politics so this this also for me is when disclosure got a little more like the lines were really blurred at that point because when I had my sex change and I would just be out in meeting a guy at a club and we'd be drunk and we'd have a moment and we had a one night stand in the next day. I'm like Oh should I have said something like video Houston Google and it's like a thing it's like. Oh so bright. What's the what's the proper etiquette show? You went your own love. I ran through a lot of it when I first got. My mother was member during this amount. When I was the hospital in Montreal? She was with me and she told me the day after my surgery she looked at me and she goes now. You don't have to tell anybody that's what my brother told me. Everyone's ruins a woman now so I was like okay so I kept that with me for a very long time and I would just go on dates. You guys and I wouldn't say nothing. Why should I am woman Gordon? They don't know and also like why should I'm sure they have a moment. They haven't told me I don't care I was just going to be fun. I mean I can take them serious breath and this was before I do any of the movie stuff and the modeling stuff so nothing was on the Internet with me. I was clean. I found my cellphone. Verizon Wireless ehlo yeah that's all you. So then I took my account Oklahoma's I'm so Venus.

Was Jacob Parasite. He was so cute. Name was Robert and then my mom. I'm said one day she I think somebody living with us right doesn't have to sleep up there anymore so she yeah but then one day we got a you know how we are we got into it and we were at a party I remember he lives whatever whatever and we were arguing whatever and then he laughed. I didn't hear from him for like months. I think that there he just leaves just like that and it leaves my house and then one day he called me and he's like. Hey I'm living in New York. I live on Third Street and Third Avenue. Crossing the hell's angel. I live in a duplex with a booker. Named Calvin who worked at next models and Giannis Knees Dander. Who is a supermodel? If they thought you weren't transfers or they thought. They had any clue that they would not hire. You didn't department stores kind of some people say David how you at macy's but anyone and work there and pat fields just seems saturated and I was just thinking should I do. "May not like them you can't you can't give them a happy half the year you you. You just can't so he's going to stick with them you know. They'll do their free agency thing. Joe Douglas will get a chance to get the draft going. I'm telling you they'll go out. And they'll get offensive lineman. They'll try to get defensive lineman of course like everybody else will but that will be the paramount of paramount importance for them. Hell they meet and grab a wide receiver from the kid. Get out from Alabama that Judy Kid from Alabama whose unbelievable so look you gotta give this group guys a chance at least to go through a draft and a free agency period it together to get the players that they want and hopefully next year. The players that they did sign this year will stay healthy. For God's sake I mean. Cj Moseley was missing and obviously we all saw what that what did the defense and defense actually hasn't been that bad neither has a special teams. It's just that when you losing and you only have two wins. The FAN base gets restless. And I understand that itself anyway. That that's part of the whole you know. The soul sucking suck. Part of sports is part of the sports. Yeah it is. Isn't that what we got. Good News Jacob. degrom wins a second cy young back to back one wins and you know when you listen that guy talk and you watch him do his work and you watch how he presents himself. I mean we got. We got the best pitcher in baseball right here in our city and our guide a place for our team. Yeah and I. I couldn't be happier any happier for for him for the mets fans that you know that. Get into this type of stuff. I get into it because I do truly appreciate his greatness as a pitcher much like air. Appreciated beat Alonzo's energy as a rookie. And what he brought to the mess and when you think about him and degrom. You're saying the mets not make them for the playoffs we saw. Aw We know how they didn't make the playoffs but yeah those are three really great performances by those players. I think because we we sort of knew degrom Alonzo. We're going to win. These awards wasn't like it was some sorta shock but it is nice to see but yeah I mean on the other side of the coin. There's that extreme frustration about look at the core group here that you you have. And what they're doing. I mean Pete Alonzo the what he did last year setting a rookie record for home runs in the National League and in all of baseball rather whether you think about that they were Jacob degrom doing hall of fame stuff and the year that he had in two thousand eighteen the best season ever seen from a pitcher and of course doors. This team Falling short and not going to the playoffs in either one of those years and of course last year a lot better a lot worse than this past year but I mean I think that that from a positive standpoint the building blocks are there. What is Brody bandwagoning doing this off season to make this team not the eighty six team with a bunch of individual performances at you you like and rather the ninety three win team that is challenging for division and then maybe goes on a run in the postseason? Because they're good from top to bottom. You have a window. Dole is open the windows open and we got window throw is and everything not there really is a in in in all seriousness. A window right now where they they need contenders and they need to reform defy the team and they got they gotta find a center fielder and they've got to find a center fielder that is offensive minded. That's that's probably a game number one you reading the papers now as GM meetings and all this other stuff is going on that. The mets seem like you know they're going to stick with what they got reliever. Why is there any play bad player here there? I know from talking to Matt officials that they do believe that Edwin d as has a very live arm he. He had an off year and they're going to work very hard in order to get him back to where he was two years ago with Seattle. I think part of that is one of the reasons why they hired Carlos Beltran John Carlos Beltran to be able to have a relationship with with the Spanish speaking players. You know and be able to discuss things and feel an and have those players feel like they got a guy that's no fighting for them in the DUGOUT. It's a big reason that Carlos was hired here and that's a good reason to hire guy. I think I think any time you can improve the communication especially in a in a sport where there are multiple languages You know you have to do whatever you can to kind of get over that Hump and it's great the Yankees have all these interpreters and everything else but it's better when the manager and the player can speak one on one together and I do think that is part of the reason why you would hire hire Carlos and it makes a Lotta Sense. You know. He has he's going to have the respect to the park. I don't care what anybody says that that that's already done. The big question is going to be. You know how he's going to manage the game. Aim One is GonNa take pictures out. Is he going to double switch. And he's going to have to figure all that stuff out pretty much on the fly because if you ask me I was just telling you you have. The mets window is open now to win win. A World Series World series. That's why I would have hired Joe Girardi because of that but now that we're past all of that and then we have Carlos Beltran as our managing Chili. Davis is coming back in the bat and go. Traffic is good. And you have this pitcher winning the CY young. You have the the the rookie of the year Jeff. McNeill had a you know. He was writing there for the batting title throughout the season. I this is now the time where brody has got to go and do something I think he's got to get like a player that met fan can get really excited about especially as center fielder. Now the question is how did they acquire that guy to go the free agency route or the Detroit doesn't sound like they're going after a big fish center field if you read the tea leaves from Brody and Brody's cable anything. We saw that last off season with that crazy trade that he made sort of the trade deadline bringing in Stroman when no one thought that the mets should have been buyers at that point. So I don't WanNa rule anything out with brody but there are some of the stuff. Here's competent backup center field old and all we're going to keep the same guys in the bullpen. You really don't hear a lot happening with brody as far as acquiring that big name that's going to energize the fan base and I don't want on to tear down the roster and turned completely upside down. There's a lot year to really like but I'm with you. There's got to be a key move or two that makes the fan base eight. That's that's it. That's the thing that's going to get us over. The top just can't be moving around the building blocks and crossing your fingers right and the big thing for them to the uncertainty assessment is who's going into his last last year so I would think this is going to be doing everything he possibly can to get back. I hope so. and go out there and put up numbers. So he can get another paycheck next year or the year after probably short-term Maybe it's in the sky but I kind of feel like even though they're downplaying it which is probably what they should do. There is a hope that he gets back here at some point. Yeah I hate when I hear brody say. We don't know it's too early to make a call on Cessnas. Well you have to know if you're building this roster a certain way you you have to know if he's going to be a part of it I love it. It's it's hard to say but that that's why hurt for idea. I think I think that he's being smart. Mark in downplaying it I really do. I mean you can't say hey. We have these high expectations for him. I think it's a point. Where if they get them at some point point and let's say let's say he's available for? Let's say one hundred games now that he's got to play one hundred games but he's available for hundred games right. I think that would be something that they would would. They would relish right now and say that would be great and maybe that would be the case. Maybe when he does come back his feet are fine ankle's better and he's hit nannies trying to make a point where he's you know he's going to be the guy the question is with all these surgeries in his feet and his ankle on everything else. What kind of outfielders? You're going to be right right. It'd probably a terrible one but you know I I. I don't understand why this has to be delicate with him like why. Why can't the mets put a little public pressure on him or even internally finally be like are you? You're getting paid a ton of money you went. You wanted to get the surgery on your heels and you you've got this crazy surgery. Calcium is getting sucked out of your feet and then you end up falling in a hole in your ranch like you've got one more year on this deal. We signed you to be a big part of this team. Get your ass back now and let's do it not not like all its delicate and all. I don't know this we gotta find a manager is going to get through to them. bullcrap man I got enough of this guy's been a rumor now for two years enough enough you've got one more year live up to your thirty million dollar salary. Climb out of the whole get out in left field and then go learn some more money that hopefully we don't give you. I mean that's what I would probably say if I were the mets of the hasn't been around. I know you know David Rights did that. He did a lot for the. You're you're frustrated. I know you're frustrated that they're not gonNA do that. You just don't do that in this. Danish gotTA be careful about people careful about feel these these feelings. I mean this is not feeling even by a fallen in the whole thing. I think he was fine. He was walking around in a golf course somewhere any any broke his ankle. That's what I think. Yeah okay I'm just throwing out there. No proof balked going out there with absolutely no proof that's doing just so you know that's one of the soul sucking stories that I keep talking about and I'm tired of talking about that. We got Jacob degrom. He's a back to back cy young award winner. It's an awesome stories a great guy and he's our pitcher. I'm telling you I wouldn't be surprised if he backs it up again with the third one this coming season hope so looking back at his lash looking back at last year so the the year before was just unprecedented it was an awesome awesome areas under to er at there was one seven this year. There's a little bit over to pitch the same amount of games a little bit blessings this year a little bit more hits this year than last year. That's how special last year was or two years ago so but really who didn't vote from again another guy. Don't even start. Who Cares matter? Man is doesn't me what are these idiots do doesn't matter. These people does not matter. He won the Cy Young Alonzo when the rookie of the year. It doesn't matter. They both should've been unanimous Stott. Okay what anybody says. I'm glad they wanted but I would not be surprised with his work ethic Thicke the fact that he kinda got his career started later the fact that he was a shortstop the fact that he's already had Tommy John Surgery. I was asking John smoltz. I interviewed him yesterday. I was talking to we have about Jake. And he's just saying how the GUY is. The guy is a just a craftsman. He knows his knows what he's doing. He knows how to place the ball and actually John smoltz was telling me that when he was a kid he played all three sports football basketball baseball and was good at all of them right But he loved baseball and he knew it. There's going to be a baseball player. He used to throw. I don't know if you've ever done this. I used to play stickball all the time on the side of timber point. Elementary School in East is where I grew up. And we had this little little box painted on and you know and you'd have to throw it in that box. It would be a strike a little deeper blue ball. You're talking right so I had the rubber spalding. This spaulding assaulting spalding. Yeah whatever but I used to play stoop ball with that too but we go down there and we throw it into that box and he was explaining how in Detroit where you grew up. Yep that's what he was doing and how he would go on the mound in the playoffs and he would be thinking of that little brick box that he was throwing long balls at you know that they came back to. Wow and that's how he calmed himself down. I'm thinking like Jake degrom. You Watch him pitch like there's no. There's no wasted motion motion. There's no wasted time walking around the mound or any of that crap. He is on the rubber. And he's ready to roll guys the man and he's just looking and thinking and he's He's so deserving and I'm just I'm just so glad he's on frigging team that I root for man. What did you think when you saw this headline mets Carlos Beltran played key role in Astros signed stealing? What did what did you when you saw that yesterday? Man How Carlos Beltran this is in the Post Carlos Beltran maybe in hot water after reports that he helped they helped plan the astros alleged illegal sign stealing because I thought of course of course the masters and now all of a sudden. He's in hot water for something he did. Two years ago..

"Because let me tell you when an announcer finally learns this game. Oh, do we drill this Dame? Like there is no tomorrow to us by Loa has taken over at quarterback for Alabama, by the way, could be starting on any other team in the country. So that could be a double whammy for there was always something great about Brent Musburger why we have on there when he clicks with the name as Adam. And last year it happened for me on our show when I was like, all right, Hercules. Much. Hercules, Hercules, Mata. And it feels so good to say, well, the other thing we've talked about this on our show former. I think former MLB commentator, John Miller legends still still works for the giants on on radio. John Miller gets a little too into the Spanish accent. Oh, miguel. BELTRAN Carlos BELTRAN and one ODI, babe. That was probably my favorite one. Did you ever see the SNL sketch where I think it was Jimmy Smith's and it was like an office party and they brought it Mexican food and he was like, yeah, I think I'll have some in us. And it was wonderful, and there is an element of that with these announcer to Tung young star from the islands, and it's going to happen every do you have an Alabama game this year did too was first game and the national chain. How did you do? So I had it down Pat. So I am Cise that as soon as he came in and like came into the second quarter, they're playing Jeff Tedford spreads, no state BULLDOGS and home. And as soon as he came in, we were like, oh, we are ready for it. We are going to nail this the stories of Marcus mariota, buddy and Hawaii, and we had everything and then Anthony back to my my filling in on a crew that we get Anthony back up saying incorrectly. The first. Not the throw Anthony out of the bus too much because we got it eventually together. But Marcus mariota first game starting was Joe test game who's doing Monday night football now, who is the money? I think I know exactly what you're going to say, four quarters. We got Marcus. Doing that in the booth at what was what was so great about that when he first came out when Marcus I took the field, Joe said it that way and then set and folks that is how you outs is. Let me tell you about how history and kindness work with Annunciation. Mario ta, and that is folks how you pronounce his and I'm like, no. Joe Pitts not gonna do well. That was wonderful. We kicked around a few other two options. Yes. This was curly the strong. Do his name like the low hanging fruit. It's this will this will be thing. Can we rosters the final rosters by the way look? Okay. Here we have you finish. Yeah, people are hissing a saucy Bilo the herbs NFL. I don't know how often that's going to happen back half the season bad there might make fun of great. Blandino is really good. Great blend, so good. I'll tell you, I can. I can I give you a quick quick analysis. It gives us some third party analysis here. I'm not sure how much we're going to see the first one for you. Dan, the crazy strength coach loose. I'm not sure how often we're gonna see. Well, I mean he is, I mean, got it. Yeah, they are going to blow it out. Yes, and Mark, your announce cruise when Holly Rowe does a game. So that's what she on mcdonagh Todd black, that you can almost count on there being a strength coach reference at some point because typically do big games. They'll always do a big game. Oftentimes they'll have an SEC game. And oftentimes that's when we talk about the strength and conditioning coaches, right? Because everybody's heard so much about Nick Sabin and Gus malzahn. We've already heard the entire story about every coaching staff. In the SEC where do we go? We go straight to the crazy straight SEC games and the Holly Rowe games I think are big, and they're going to blow those out. So that's where I think you're gonna make make your, hey, more often than not on that. I love the Taunton kickers punters for you, must champs great. The blandino is gonna win you a lot of points for those of you watching those the big game on FOX every weekend..
