"Those to you in a few minutes, but we've got more live racing to get to as they're getting close to post time for the 9th and final at beautiful Belmont park today. 6 furlongs on the turf, which immediately is not my favorite thing. 6 furlongs on the turf, a condition claiming event these are three year olds and up that are non winners of three races lifetime they're in for a $35,000 tag. Big field of 13 was entered. We have a few scratches scratch numbers two, 9 and 13, so still a sizable field of ten going to post in here. The favorite at this point is number 6 Fast & Furious. That's FEAR IOUS. I didn't mispronounce it. Fast & Furious. Who's out of a damn name fear this, by the way, going for rob actress and Dylan Davis, good win against condition non winners of two lifers, two starts back, sprinting on the turf at Belmont park, stepped up against starter allowance competition last time out was bet down to favoritism showed speed and just caved in throughout the anchor at the top of the stretch finished 5th, beaten about 7 links. Listen, this horse has one way to go. Right to the lead and hope nobody challenges because it looks like to me. When he gets behind other horses, that's it. Maybe I'm pigeonholing him right now, but that's what we've seen from the past performances we can see, that's what it looks like. He's going and see how far he can stay out in front of these horses. He's logical in the spot. I think a horse that has a chance at a price is number ten hour troubadour for Eddie Barker and Javier castellano. We haven't seen this horse since October of last year. So we just don't know what we're going to get first off the layoff, but he's run races against this kind of competition in the past that would give him a chance. He's a closer, I don't know. If the favorite Fast & Furious clears this field with no pressure early on, maybe they can't catch him. But if he doesn't do that, or if he doesn't fire his best shot, it's a wide open event and horses like our troubadour, who's 16 to one on the board right now, have a chance. Eddie Barker, you know, he doesn't have a big sample size to look at, but it does just fine with these extended layoff types. So I'm going to look at the glass half full because of the price and go with our troubadour. Let's go out to John embryo for the call of race.

"IOS only valid only in states where Caesar's race book is legally available. It must be 21 plus and reside in the state where such activity is legal to open a wagering account. If you have a gambling problem, call or text 805 two two 4700, Caesar's race book get bonuses right out of the gate. Okay, let's get out to Belmont park for our first live race of the day. Beautiful conditions in elmont, New York, 78° right now, partly cloudy skies. Main track is fast turf horses firm. They're on the main track for the 7th race on the car that starts the final pick three of the day. Mile and a 16th, which is, of course, one turn on the main track at Belmont park. Three year olds and up in for a $16,000 tag scratch numbers one and 7 at 7 is a big scratch, a little commissioner, not only was one of the ones in here taking a huge class drop if he would have run today. And he would have been one of the favorites in the race. So with those two out, we're just down to a field of 6. There's a lot of speed in this 6 horse field. Number four, it's all relevant, gets the lead almost every time. He goes to the races. He's a 9 year old, who's making the 38th start of his career. He's not the most consistent runner in the world anymore every now and then. He throws in a real clunker, but then he usually bounces back with a much better effort. That's kind of the scenario where we are now. He didn't run very well last time. I wasn't able to get the lead in his last race. Should be able to get the lead today. Although, both number three auburn hills and number 6 mister Winston may have something to say about it because they are horses who like to be forwardly placed. So I don't think it's all relevant is just going to be able to mosey out to the front and settle down like it's nothing. He's the 6 to 5 favorite right now. If you think that he's going to have company on the front end or just don't think he's going to fire one of his best shots, I think number two Peruvian boy is the most logical one to come get them. He's a horse that he's not a stone closer. He's more of a stalker mid pack type who has done everything from turf to dirt to long to short. They just run them everywhere. For the most part has been running against tougher competition than what he's going to see today. Another one who's dropping in for the $16,000 tag for the first time, I don't think he's ever raced below the $35,000 threshold. Last time he was in for 35, it was a condition 35 and he won. Last time out, he ran against allowance optional claiming types. He wasn't expected to do much. And he didn't do much. So now he's back in for a tag and he's stretching back out and he should have plenty of speed in front of him. He's three to one, the third choice in the wagering right now. And he should get the right trip. Question is whether it's all relevant, just gets out in front of this field and keeps going. Because his good race is certainly make him the one to beat. He just doesn't fire those good races all the time. All right, they have arrived at the starting gate for this 7th race at Belmont park. Once again, a one turn mile and a 16th on the fast main track, $16,000 to claiming tag Peruvian boy auburn hills. It's all relevant the first three in here is O'Shea, can you see? Followed by mister Winston and other speedy type direct order will round out the field. We'll go to John embryo at Belmont park for race 7. For the 7th..

"The firm turf. She has hidden form she gets a gigantic rider improvement to Trevor McCarthy going from a rider. I don't want to mention his name, who basically does not win races, to a writer and Trevor McCarthy, who does win some races. Mandus turf races last year are easily as good if not better than anyone in this field, including the favorite gracefully wild. She just has hidden form, including that eased effort last time out. She 17 to one on the board. Listen, she's over 11 breaking from the rail in a state bred maiden 40. It's not somebody I'm going to go, you know, running and jumping over hurdles to bet on her. But now she's 18 to one. She's worth the price of admission as far as I'm concerned. I'm keen her not only to win, but in different spots finishing second and third as well because the price is just right. You know, if she's 5 to one, I'm not interested. She's 18 to one right now because you have to go back three or four races, maybe 5 races to find this hidden form. I think mandus is as good as anyone in this field and she's just getting overlooked because her recent races were, well, just simply terrible. Okay, they're at the gate for this 7th race at Belmont park. By the way, this race begins the final pick three on today's card. Once again, New York bread made in Phillies and mayor sprinting 6 for longs on the inner turf, the turf is firm and tag here is $40,000 currently the favorite gracefully wild two to one. Listen, gracefully wild winds that spine, you want to take two to one on this, you know, I know a bookmaker who once gave me great advice. Don't throw, don't bet good money on bad teams. And that's kind of the way I feel with this. You know, there are two to one shots that look a lot better than gracefully wild. She's not that good. She could win this race, but she's not who I want it two to one in this spot. So we're going to try mandu to get a $40 wind mutual. Last few are going in Boston bullet toward the outside of the gate. John embryo with the rest of the loading the call 7th at Belmont park. Boston bullet.

"Mercury, he's got the whole crew there that's been around him since September and all these guys are getting some recognition for the hard work and stuff that they do on a daily basis. And they always watch everybody else get that. So now they're getting part of it to me. That's the best part. Just watching those guys get some recognition. What is the coolest person you've gotten to interact with or the most interesting thing that you wouldn't have expected to take place since the Derby? I guess the phone call from president Trump would be on the top of the list and we talked for quite a bit and then he sent me a couple of things in the mail and I sent him a rich strike hat and I think that was pretty fantastic. That's an amazing story. It's just spectacular joined by Eric Reed on the equine form presented by twin spires on the horse racing radio network before we let you go. Take us through what you hope the trip looks like. How does he break? Where is he at the quarter? When does he make his move? Who are your biggest competition today? Well, I think, you know, all these are good quality horses. I mean, every one of them have a legitimate shot to win. I don't think there's anybody in there that you could just draw a line through. Our running style works against us. But if I had the dream trip he'll break and I'd say he'll be probably be back with maybe Barbara road or modale. And then by the time they get to the first turn, if I could have my dream trip, I'm within 5 or 6 lengths of the lead at that point. And Sonny can sit comfortable down the backside and somewhere in the middle of the turn. He can ease up towards the leaders. And if the quarter pose, the finish line at the Derby, I'd love to see where he was at the finish line at the Derby and best horse to the wire at that point. Eric, we wish you the absolute best of luck, can't wait to watch. It's not often we have a true Cinderella in this sport and you guys have been just a pleasure to watch and cheer for and deal with. Good luck and thank you. Thanks for having us on and like I said, it's my pleasure and we appreciate all the time you guys are giving us. Thank you so much. Trainer Eric Reid will saddle rich strike in the Belmont stakes later today. The feature event on a fantastic Belmont park card on Saturday afternoon when we come back on the equine forum. It's unsung heroes presented by woodbine.

"Lot of we the people big fans out there. He's not a big name horse. He was super impressive in winning the Peter Pan. We don't know what he beat that day and it was on a track that was not fast. It had some moisture in it. Yeah, he's going to get the lead by himself. And he certainly has a chance to go wire to wire in the Belmont tomorrow, but I'm just talking about who's going to be favored. I am guessing that Moderna will be favored and my guess is that the Derby winner rich strike will be lower than his morning line of 7 to two. I think there are people who are believing in this horse. They think that he's turned the corner and that his Derby win wasn't a fluke. Everything you read and you heard it from Anthony stabile early on. Everyone who's seen rich strike or has written about rich strike since his win in the Derby has made it sound like he can do nothing wrong. He looks fantastic every morning, whether it's at Churchill, whether it's working between races, whether it's since he's gotten to Belmont park. Listen, that's all fine and everything. My general belief is that when it comes to good horses, I'm only interested when something doesn't look right. It's like reading about workouts going into The Kentucky Derby. These are the best three year olds there are, they usually work pretty well. You telling me that so and so looked good this morning. That's not news to me. I want to know when someone's so does not look very good in the morning. That's news to me. Telling me that a horse is really good, looks good in the mornings when there's no pressure around and it's nice and cool out for the most part. And they're by themselves. That's not news to me. I appreciate that rich strike is doing well. And that he's supposedly has taken to his new surroundings at Belmont park. It's not, it's not swaying me one way or the other. Whether I bet on or against rich strike in tomorrow's Belmont stakes will have nothing to do with what the folks who have seen him jogging around in the mornings have to say unless, unless they say something bad. And they have not said anything bad. Welcome back to bedding with Bobby presented by Caesar's race book. We just heard the live call of the two mile Belmont gold cup, a great two event for the older horses going on the firm.

"Good start for Jane graves from that inside post position. Mischievous Diane is right there in between horses and Baba was on the outside. So the three of them right together here in the early going. I will away is running in fourth followed by ruby's in time and it's 5 lengths back to fight on Lucy. Mischievous Diane leads by a half length. Baba's on the outside in second. And then it is a big long shot of will away, who has up into third now with Jane grey down at the rail and in fourth, the quarter 22 and four. Ruby's in time runs in feb for the back, fight on Lucy. It is mischievous Diane, Baba in between horses, a will away on the outside and Justin behind is the favorite Jane grey and alongside is ruby's end time. They head for home now with mischievous Diane, room for Jane grey. She comes on through now on the outside as Baba a wheel away and ruby's in time, mischievous Diane, trying to hold off Jane grey. It is mischievous Diane in front, two and a half lengths. Jane grey all out in second. Mischievous Diane and Dylan, Davis. Jane grey was second. Ruby's in time, up for third. Unofficially four one three 5 in the 7th race at Belmont park final time for the 6 furlongs, one ten flat. Ray handel had mischievous Diane ready to roll off the layoffs. She took the lead and never looked back the favorite Jane grey looked like she had a perfect ride from junior alvarado tucked in saved ground in behind the speed, got clear sailing at the top of the stretch. She just simply couldn't catch mischievous Diane. She was way better than the rest of this field. The top two were well clear of the others, but mischievous Diane just kept on going 22 and four for the quarter 46 and one for the half, sped it up to 57 and four for the 5 furlong split and out the 6 furlongs in one ten flat four one three 5, the unofficial result in race 7 at Belmont park. We're going to take a break. When we come back, we're going to.

"Tell me about getting the news from the racetrack chaplaincy that you are going to receive that white horse award. I was really surprised. I didn't really know much about the award until I got the call. And my normal MO is, I get a number coming in on my phone. And if I don't know, if it's not logged in, my address book, then I usually don't answer because you get so many phone calls from wherever. And Omar left the message and I saw that it did come from black finger. And I thought, that's interesting. And once you left the message, then I might well probably with you. I'm very apprehensive because it's not, it's really not easy, easy for me to do stuff like this. And it was very difficult with the video thing because you got the cameras and everything else there. So I just want to crawl inside my shell. I've tried to spend most of my life kind of flying under the radar, but I never have been at it for one reason or another. But I just want to I'm just trying to kind of cruise through life without being seen, I guess. And then I call you and ask you to come on national radio, right? So I'm not helping the cause. That's just what everybody wants. Someone like me on a national radio. So. You were so humble when you responded to me. And I mentioned that at the top of the show, you were so humble and I kind of got the sense. Okay, well, maybe he really doesn't want to do it. But I'm so thankful that you are taking the time to tell this story because I think it speaks volumes as to all of the good things that go on in racing that we really don't hear about very much. We hear about the drug positives and the lawsuits and the infighting. But we never, and that's why I created unsung heroes on my Saturday morning equine form show because we don't often get to tell the good side of racing and tell those stories that are out there and Marshall, this is certainly one of them, but as you well know from being around the track for 40 plus years, this is not the only good story that takes place day in and day out. I agree. I mean, it's the only thing that really seems to ever get out publicly or in the press is the negative and that's a very small, small part of it. We're most of it. There's a lot of good. And there's a lot of because it's every racetrack every backside. It's a whole nother world, then working in what I always call the real world, because it's so different. It's not any different like than farm work or something like that because it's every day and the horses depend on you. People depend on you. And it's very emotional. Just when it comes to the racing itself and so much times put into something where you can go over there in a minute and a half boom, it's over. Maybe you won, maybe run up the track and then you go back and figure out how you are going to get to the wire first. And people on the backside at different racetracks, they look out for each other. And it becomes almost like a family. And the Churchill downs backside is a family. The fairgrounds is the same way. Belmont park will be the same way. And I'm sure it's just like that in emerald. How do you describe what the emerald down backside community is like and what it's all about. It's a pretty tight community. I mean, at times, everybody knows everybody's business that always seems whether it's right or wrong or true or not. In that way. But so it's like family very much so that way. But sometimes it's very competitive with each other, but then it's like you say there's things that happen and then brings everybody together and especially with a lot because you've got kind of at emeralds, you have a lot of new blood there over the last 20 years.

"Big difference is the takeout the pick five take guts only fifteen percent making it a much better play than a pick for. It's a free square. The problem is it doesn't help you in any way shape or form life is good winds. Everybody's got it if life is good doesn't win you're busted out but indeed it's a pick foreign. You don't need to spend any more money on it okay. So life is good gonna be uber. Tough to beat in the grey to kelso goes. is the fourth race tomorrow at belmont park. We jump all the way to race number ten for the grades three athenian and this one not nearly as cut and dry as what we see in the kelso these are phillies and mirrors set to go a mile and an eighth on the turf person. Two hundred thousand dollars by the way can tell you. They were off the turf. Today at belmont park didn't have bad weather today but they did have some bad weather overnight so gonna have to watch the weather. I don't think they're expecting a lot of bad weather going into the weekend But this turf race will see what the turf condition is for the athenian once again the phillies and mirrors going long. We do have heavy favourite on the morning. Line out one to nine but three to five with number four pocket square. Well it's only a five horsfield and the to chad. Brown runners make a ton of sense. The favourite pocket square in miss horon. The number two course and those are the two favorites in the race. I do prefer the favourite pocket square. I just thought that two races. That horse lost the diana and the justice game against all tika summer romance facing much much better competition got down to a better more appropriate level an absolutely annihilated one hundred thousand dollar optional kramer's last time out at saratoga and that was a race that saw a reasonable but nana fast temple by any stretch of the imagination and pocket. Score was still able to come from behind and score without any sort of difficulty. The other chad brown runner. I think may be pretty good has been in against good. Not great competition has won four races and thirteen career starts. A couple of those came before coming to this country two years ago. But i just haven't seen it against stakes competition yet. So i'm waiting for that. I think those two probably I mean if i were playing a pick five or pick six. i wouldn't go more than two deep. Would you know. And i may not even go to deepen the spot. I think pocket square lays over this field. I mean what you said is right. Those two stakes races were she was in the great ones against altea and some around lancer just better field than what she's going to see today. Yes she dropped all the way down into higher level allowance races to win in her two wins here in the states by the way i don't think it goes without saying that those two wins were with iran ortiz aboard and he sticks aboard the daughter of night of thunder again. Listen this is a great three race. It's not the toughest grade three race we've ever seen. It's really no different. I think than some of the higher level allowance races. She's been winning. Pocket square deserves to be three to five. I don't think we'll get three to five honor. But i think she's another one. That is a free square. If you're playing maybe late pick five the pick six late pick for. I think she's going to be too tough to be pocket square for me in the grade. Three athenian tenth race tomorrow at belmont park mentioned earlier. That tomorrow is the marquee day at parks. There was a time earlier in season.

You know we ran with three year olds last year. as we're. Having to step up. Of course in this race. And Seven eighths was his perfect. Distance and But we feel like he'll go the mile. "The victory ride kicks off the stakes action here at Belmont Park tomorrow afternoon grade three early in the caught has just the feel of five phillies. GOING TO GO Six and a half furlongs as for the three year old's warning line favors one francs. Rock Cat Hall of Famer Bill Will Give Fellow Hall of Famer John Velazquez a leg up and this phillies done very little wrong on her career. She's three for seven. With four second-place finishes ran second in a couple of graded stakes, including the grade one spin away up at Saratoga last year last seen winning a third level allowance optional claimer. She uses stakes. Winner took the any limit kick off three year old season three starts back. and. Probably the only reason that this race isn't later in the card is that it's a five Horsfield and Franks? Rakhat is three to five on the morning line, and she may be the the loan speed in race, so she's going to be tough to beat at three to five, but that's a pretty short price, considering there some pretty good up and coming phillies near now I think number four center. I'll I'm going to give her another shot for. For Chad Brown and Joel Rosario Sheila Great Getting Her Maiden Win Gulfstream Park, when bet down to three to five at the end of March then came back in a tough allowance race at Churchill downs where she was really over bet, she was three to five that day against another very impressive maiden winner of this one for Steve Asmussen in casual casual ran a great race that day center I'll had all sorts of problems. She didn't break that well. She had trouble during the race, and she was just really never in at any point. I think it's a racy can kind of draw a line through? If she runs closer to the way she did and her debut. I think she's the one that could give Franks rock cat. The biggest problem Franks rocket will probably get the lead I would think Rosario would have center I'll sitting justin behind her and seeing if they can outgun into the line going six and a half furlongs. With you I'm going to take a shot with center. Rile planner. If? When I plan! Early took five tomorrow I will use both Franks rocket and center, but I'll tell you what I think. You can make a case also for up in smoke was undefeated and sprints. She's four five and a career. Lone blemish came when George Weaver tries to stretch her out Hollywood wildcat. Go at Gulfstream Park. She's raced exclusively of Gulfstream, in fact, steady diet once. Once a month February march April may June now. She gets a race in July. Here over Big Sandy, she wanted the game face overboard last time out for weaver Rod Ortiz Junior. Who wrote her in her debut against fellow Florida breads down at Gulfstream Park's in the climb back aboard for the first time. Since that day looks, you'll need a little help up front if Franks, rockets able to set an easy pace I. She's going to be very very tough. I think Senator I'll be the first one to come calling. Those are the two up in smoke. If you're looking to three deep, I don't think you need to center for Bobby and I race number three goes as the great three six and a half for a long victory ride go to the end of the card. Eleven race card like I said earlier, and the final four races make up an all stakes pick four, and it starts in reasoning with the greed three poker. Flat Mile on the turf for many years. This was the fourth of July staple. On the naira calendar here it is now as part of a super five stakes card. In, the poker though. On the widener, so they come out of that shoot. On the clubhouse turn we get a field of eight entered for the turf as a main track. Only it's all relevant with the way. The weather's been here. I would imagine you know there's supposed to be some rain. We're recording the show Friday afternoon supposed to be some rains rather day on Friday and into the evening. I can't imagine it enough to take this off the turf, so let's say it will be a field of eight.

Dr Post's Rider on Unbridled Win at Gulfstream

"He is yet another late developer who may benefit quite a bit from a delayed and revamped triple Crown Dr Poster respond to urging size all over him with the tax rate top of the lane on the outside attack. But right from between Dr Post Doctor Post now up for the lead attack rated second let there be no doubt doubters best. It's Dr Post Uneven. Money winner that win. At Gulfstream in the ungraded unbridled stakes was the first time Dr Post had run a mile or longer. He'd run into sprints before that winning one this year and finishing fourth in his debut at Belmont Park last July and while his sire quality road one multiple graded stakes at a mile and an eighth doctor posts never wanted longer than seven eighths of a mile. So I'm pretty sure that when trainer Todd pletcher and owner Vincent Viola learned that the Belmont stakes would be shortened from a mile and a half to a mile and an eighth. They were probably not to dismayed. Dr Posts next start might come in the Belmont and Soda Talk About Him to talk about the return of racing in New York and other related topics we welcome in the gate. The man who has the best seat in the House to watch Dr Post his rider the two time defending clips award winning writer Iran Ortiz Junior. Tell us about all that. He overcame in winning that race at Gulfstream. Well he John Hord. I is learning by racist Green Green. Like I'd have to stay on him and but he everything's good in the behin. He wasn't bitching horses. I gotTA using monitor be to keep their then. Golly talk was the intimidate. Then we get through then. What getting now because he was seeing the horse. And what's more comfortable for me to start going because I can ride then. Finally when he gets. Put THE HEAD IN FRONT. You just take off like he got some work. Your go no yet can be a nice sort down the road will. You've said that when he grows up a little mentally it'll help him now. What shows you that. He's not yet mature in his mind. Whatever I went through you know you raised it said Anita on Memorial Day you've run at Gulfstream and Churchill and will soon be returning to New York. How difficult is it to go through the testing process at each track to be cleared to come in and race? It better for you know like that's thing. I just really like three or four times. It's not too bad for me and I'm happy because like that. I'm okay to see my family. You know after I check from other also. I'm Don T my baby so I'm glad they do. "The state reds will be on display. Here at the big tomorrow Broadway. It's a hundred thousand six furlongs four. The state bred fillies a field of six. The exact from the lava. Dodd back in here. That was going seven eighths. This one's going six cash offer collared and ran down kept true that day. That was going seven. This one's going six. She lives at one of the favorites. Big rebound here. We go somewhere else. I ended up going with one of the choices but I thought it was a really competitive field for for just a six pack. I thought they got some some good players in here. Cash offer The morning line favorite has really. Reinvented herself the last couple of starches. Become able to sit and make a run even though you know. She's still one of the quickest breakers out there The cutback to six furlongs concerns me. A little bit With her I know she likes the trip. It concerns me from the inside draw Horse I was interested in was the one out of orbit as well if the race was a little bit longer than six. I might have taken a shot with With her as a price she's turning back from the mile and they've bay ridge where she found herself on the lead for very tepid fractions tired late. I think she's going to be strong. My concern is her breaking from the fence and the short trip all the way turning all the way back to six furlong so I'm going to try and get her in the money a little bit. I'm still a fan of the number. Five kept true with the speed to her outside. I think she just going to let the speed six stones in the road go the cutback to three quarters. Promise of a fast track this time. I think that can help. Make the difference. I'm going to go with G. Ahmadi and kept trip. Yeah so AM I. I like the fact you know. Both of these phillies are accomplished at six cash. Offer End Cap Jones. To be honest. I don't think anybody else win. This race My late pick five. Pick four it'll be those two and that'll be the end of it I'll say this I think and I know cash offer three for five with two seconds at six furlongs I think the cutback benefits kept true. More I did. She has a little struggle right even the six and a half furlong way. She won At Belmont Park. She was fresh that day. That's when she's GonNa WanNa do that. I just going six furlongs. It's a little bit more of an edge to kept true. She gets back on track as well. I'll take kept true over cash offer. They're the only fuel phillies. I'm using in the hundred thousand dollar Broadway. It goes race eight on the nine Ray. Saturday called here at the big a post time all week. presidents. We've we have racing on Monday here. Brad Cox Interview

"British idiom is you heard the call ridden by hobby or Castellano trained by Brad Cox who has been so good for so many years he is now trained one thousand two hundred eight winners in his career and that total includes those three victories that he had yesterday to Keelan one at Belmont Park but none none more special than that grade one Darlie Abe's win and Brad is with me now here on H. R. R. N. Brad Good Morning Congratulations. Thank you good good morning. How you guys doing things are good my friend. Dr You still kind of on a high after that big win. Absolutely they had several breezes this morning at your show just kind of wrapping things up yeah. That's that's a win. You definitely you know saver for a while. They're foreign feud between the great ones yeah. What's that light for a trainer when you show up to work. The next day is kind of like a victory lap around the race track where everybody's coming up and shaking your hand and congratulating you you know it's it's it's good. I mean you know it's it makes it easier to get up in the morning. I can tell you that when you you know just having good horses to look at watch them work watching breeze. He's checking the next day. F You know post race stuff like that so you know it's good horses which is get up every day and do this force. The you know have horses than move forward young horses Oaks Derby British Cup type horses what you're looking for so it definitely makes getting up a little easier. I promise you that yeah and you've been around so many good ones but certainly British. Idiom is looking being the part at this point in her career and let's remind people. This was only her second career start. She's now a perfect two for two after breaking her maiden at Saratoga back in the middle of August. It look back on that race from yesterday she she won very impressively very easily. Share your thoughts on the performance. I I mean it it. was you know to think he was going to go over and perform like that no way. I mean you know she. She just she just blew just spectacular performance and you know watching watching the race I mean broke with higher did a great job of keeping up in the race not necessarily on the League exactly what you like to see setting off a couple of horses a relatively you you know reasonable pace the backside. I think he was laying fourth and I looked at my sister and I said she's in a perfect spot. I mean she's got no excuse from here and then when she brings it up to the leaders eaters to three eighths. Kinda started looking at some of the horses behind us like I think she's got these in front of her when she's come up to fairly I think you can go buy these and then obviously I was kinda looking for perfect perfect alibi and szucs Philly and I saw so perfect alibi was kind of interesting you know if she responds when heavier ask this things over and she did and you know the only thing I told you can't tell the guy I don't give them any instructions at all jocks but the only thing I told him I said it's a short wire so don't don't you know short stretch. Yeah I wire so just when you turn for home ever position and he did just that she responded well. It was very very impressive race. Did you know this philly could be this good in this caliber when you first laid eyes on her no really well not when I first laid eyes on that yeah you have to go through several steps. You know obviously months and months of preparation to really get a line on we had this. Philly keeneland England then we moved into this summer and she was really stepping for stepping up and you know acting like she was a good horse we breeze brought her to Churchill with the intent of running her at Saratoga and Yep. We just left our church. I I can't remember exactly how it was about just her last work before she ran at Saratoga. was from the gate at Churchill she'll and thought you know this phillies going to be awfully tough at Saratoga auction race. We'd like to a lot so and you know come to find find out. It was like that morning. There was a buzz I was actually at Churchill today. She broke her maiden Air Togo but there was a little buzz kept hearing like you know they're stranded like horses turning like Susan. I like four or five of them in there and you know she. I think lots of times like you know I thought she would have been down a little more and she wasn't. I just think it was a you know a lot of people like horses in the race and the silly it was second obviously came back and broke her maiden. Belmont which was a positive You know just a couple of weeks ago so I uh I think it was even though it was restricted maiden race it was decent strong maiden races well so she received a big figure out of it to that. That was the one thing that Japan Academy Rag Number. You know a couple of days later and I thought you know she moves forward off that you know she's a she's a serious horse. She obviously did it. Just took us a while to get her back to the races we point for the Pocahontas and she the week before she breezed in the breeze was just okay and We've put a blood on her blood worker blitz count. Where's off a little bit so we just decided to skip the Pocahontas in point for talking with trainer Brag Cox Looking back on yesterday's big win in the grade. One DARLIE also vitek was British idiom. She is now punched her ticket to the Breeder's cup juvenile fillies which will be held at Santa Anita in Arcadia California about well one month from today. Hey we'll be breeders cup Saturday Brad. What do you do now over the next four weeks to make sure that she stays in peak form and she's ready to fire her best shot in the Breeders Cup. Well just you know as of right. Now you know I believe we have a plane scheduled to go out on Tuesday before so that's the twenty ninth we'll just go out then with whatever we have that's earn whatever earn their way to the Breeders Cup and you know just who works. I think you know nothing fancy. I mean you know she got a lot out of yesterday's yesterday's race being the second career start and you know just hoping she comes out of in good shape so far so good she scoped great. Last night looked good last night. Put her to bed and she looked at this morning. So you know Oh everything's positive with her will to this point and you know like I said we'll bring her back to Churchill worker twice and then off to California to before as long as everything goes well when you get an opportunity unity to maybe add a couple more grade wants to your resume later today you have Juliette Fox Trot going in the grade one first lady here at Keeneland and then you'll send out in the Joe Hirsch Turf Classic at Belmont Park. You'll send out arc low in there so let's start with Juliet Fox Trot. Tell me a little bit about her really Nice Philly. I mean it took a really tough being California. Last time we got was beaten by. I think the two thousand eighteen races and the silica so I mean I think right if the wires the only time she was in front on of us we got back in front of her past the wiring dot great really nice really think the world ever very very classy filly to deal with in just just real real nice philly that train them and just very straightforward. Does everything alleged WanNa see a horse do of the mornings and obviously the afternoons as well since she's been here in North America America and just amazing philly not real big. I mean she she's. She's a beautiful really beautiful. I- owner beautiful head up but it's not a big big philly typical. I think you know think cut back to a mile. I think is a I think she can do anything between a mile. Maybe even a mile and a quarter anything in there but I always like a horse that you know in a mile in eighth last time cutting back to the mile today. I think a positive that she drew well in the race. looks like on paper. There's speed I'm hoping she can kind of break settle kind of shut off a little bit going into the first turning up the backside and she does that she'll be. She'll be very very competitive today. I think a lot of this feeling. I think she she some you know. Hopefully can you know get some great one placing. Maybe hopefully a great one win and I think you know. I think the plan right now to raise their next year and I really think she's got had a big feature. You know it's interesting you talk about the mile and an eighth cutting back to a mile later on this afternoon and how much you like that move. I've heard other people talk about horses making that can't move to why can that be so successful. I guess it's just a fitness thing I mean I know. We've had the feeling training all year but it's a lot angles and racing that you know you. Can you know I. I sometimes like you know You don't even if a horse runs well on the dirt going to turf. It's almost like you trick them a little bit. You know it's it's and you know I. It just felt like you can have a little more confidence with your shortening horse up as opposed to stretching now now 'cause you know the further you go. I guess the unknown but you know she performed well at a model at Qinglin this spring so we know she can do it. She didn't really shut off and rate that well that day wish you would have you know relax a little more but it was a first start off a long layoff for a long time. I asked her to run a little bit earlier and she was just kind of on the go like I said from off burning fresh off the layoff but she she's moved forward and she responds to what the routers warrant They had three different jobs under this year. You know they've all got along with her. Well so I think for on obviously knows Schroeder twice before been able to get her. They're both times so hopefully like I said if she can get take a trip and relax a little bit early. She'll be tough yeah. You've had her for four starts now. In North America her first one as you alluded to is keen last April after she campaign in in her native Great Britain when you get a horse like that Brad that comes in from overseas.

Part 3: Jeff Siegel, Ed DeRosa, James Scully

"Jeff Good Morning Good morning how you doing excellent and lots to digest. We've already talked to the J ribbon earlier this morning morning. I want to get your take on what went on about the racist we discussed last week including the the upset which I think is less shocking talking than people. The people are are feeling. It didn't seem upon further review that Mongolian groom was all that impossible well. He wants to me I mean I thought he'd run well but I I really I'd watch McKinsey working. I thought he was ready to roll. Oh and just looking at the form I thought that he would win and he he moved to the top of the stretch like he was going to pounce and then he kind of flat out and I I always had a little sense of doubt that maybe he wasn't quite amount of quarterhorse but this is only a mile and they and I was disappointed and I think Bob Baffert with two do I really was an he's made in announcement that he's going to replace my Smith with a writer that we don't know who's going to be. I'm sure all the the agents are kind of hanging around trying to throw their hat in the ring but yeah I mean I it was I mean it's it's just it's the nature of the game here. We've you see this happen a lot and perhaps the real the real important racist coming up a month from now but if you've you know food for thought as to whether or not the horse that we also at least I thought was the number one older horse in the country. is really that much better than everybody else and amount of quarter. I think it's anybody's game now fold in as well the the result at the Jockey Club Gold Cup and what did you think of the takedown and who do you favor of the two of them coming out west well. I'll tell you what that I I was kind of hoping that it didn't come down and even I thought the three year old is going to win the race going in and what am I ran well. I thought he I thought he had every chance to get by but it was a tough. It's tough to lose a race lightweight like way when push came to shove and unfortunately for her also did come to push he he hung in there I think both both of those are deserving the universal. I'd come already come out west a winner racer over the summer so we subtract and so they'll meet again it's I I. I was talking about this. The other day was Zoe on our podcast and we we were pretty much not baffled. I don't think that's the way but kind of open to in trying to figure out who might win the plastic doors so many possibilities now so many horses that look like they're capable title stepping up some of them that look good or maybe vulnerable so I duNNo. We'll be watching the next couple of three weeks to see who trains the best. Maybe maybe we can come up with a conclusion but right now now. It's really a mess we'll wait till they get the decisions. The final decisions horses like a late and late would add another wrinkle visit I think they're thinking mile and a quarter and the boys aren't that top much tougher for maybe the midnight DC would be if he ran against her again and and a mile an eighth in the in the the staff so that would that would certainly make an interesting well a couple of other thoughts jeff about last weekend the reasons we discussed filled D'Amato just a of magical a couple of days pee wee reese on Friday mirth and Cleopatra Strike in the Rodeo drive and the John Henry able to Geo Story. I keep coming back to it because what can you say and then Sunday Paradise Woods and I ask you the same question that I brought up up with Jay and I asked Sadler too Sadler Sheriff's the other day if she runs that race of the distaff she's she's a major major player and I know she's a notorious in and outer but I thought that was a terrific effort it was it was accomplished under under pristine conditions sitting right outside a speed horse with nobody all rounder nobody in front of her nobody beside her with kind of like a workout for but she did feel the deal as she finished strongly and she earned a beyer speed figure that was something like eight or nine points better than they were not that that means anything but bottom line is she ran really well now whether or not she can do that again I don't know if he pointed out not exactly your model of consistency and I thought maybe your best days were behind her but boy did she work well and I I I yeah I mean you have to go. You have to think that going into the dispatch. This definitely has a legitimate chance I mean if she decides to show up with a game the thing that we're going to start talking about Jeff when when when I'm at clockers corner and and we're watching horses work and when we analyzed the the XP TV workouts leading up to the race between you and Millie Ah Zoe is going to be fitness levels and the one thing you're not going to have to worry about John. The sheriff's Baffert and Sadler is is fitness of these horses on that racetrack and that's going to be a huge factor and I'm I'M GONNA keep referring to the east coast horses that went to del Elmar for the Pacific Classic and God drowned on that deep surface and Steve Asmussen asked me to his credit with with tenfold he learned his lesson and went out early with Mottola because he is not gonna get caught on that element he wants his horses. This is ready to travel over that surface and it's going to be something we we really focus on and then I'm sure in the recap you know after breeders Peter Scott. It's GONNA come up well down. Mars is eat but it's it's not it's not any deeper than in Santa Anita where this is not the old Santa Anita track backwards you know three quarters in eight and change all all day long I mean you have to be did fit to run on. This track is deep. You just tiring you you have to train over it. I think I think it really helps and yeah I think it's going to be very important to to to watch the works and I I do think it's going to be a great advantage for horses to get in early and get a beast of one or maybe even to work over the drag your possible because it's it's not it's it's tough. It's it's it. It's deeper than New York and Belmont Park is I'm convinced of that and I know Belmont to be called the fanny and all that but this track is is big heavy. I mean it's the faith it's safe and that's why they made it so deep but you've gotta get through it and you gotTa. That'd be fit well. Let's get set to look at the weekend and before we talk about Saturday any any day maker ideas for today well. You know it's yeah I mean I I did do a couple of San Anita and I can give the a little bit of an insight today's tough but I like the Philly name swirling in the fourth race she's not the favorite averaged five to two zero six two five in there she's a late running turf sprinter that that I that likes attending through force and they're starting to run five and a half now in the first we've got a couple now they extended the shootout there so she'd found five furlongs on this course a little stripe and she was hitting the boy and running well but just running out of room now she goes five and a half and I noticed in the few couple of five and a half long since we've had so far that the closers have a better chance and she's she's good enough to win. and I think that extra half for a long we'll give her the edge that she needs so I'm looking at number two swirling in the fourth race to kind of heightened me over for that's my play play today. It's an okay car not a great guard but I think we can we can get some value there because she's not going to be the favorite it's excellent all right swirling today and Let's let's go to the weekend and obviously the steak the steak side of things Let's talk about talk about the city of hope I because it it it really is intriguing and I brought up with Jay earlier. Jeff the mixing and matching of older horses. I mean really veteran in six seven eight year olds like synchrony and Ohio and Bolo and catapult facing off against some horses that may be emerging What's your angle in the studio? It's really hard. I handicap this this race and I came up with about four or five that on their best day could win. synchrony is intriguing to me I think he's intrinsically the best of the group but he doesn't have a lot of tactical speed and going a mile on this course even though he's running the tool aww theoretically he could maybe draft into the mid part of the mid packing and save the nangle out and get through he tends to give himself a lot to do and I remember when he came out here for the CBS del Mar last November. The same thing happened. Do that was sixteen. He fell back. He he had some traffic trouble he got. That's where we finished. Fuller Ronnie finished thirty one but but he didn't get there so I I like him at five to one at synchrony shipper I I hope he gets the trip. If he doesn't then you can make a case for a number of these. I mean looking for fifteen to one shot number four on your program. Aziz restrained vengeance. He's GonNa get loose in the lead and if he does that he can be dangerous. TAT upholds training really well but he's form doesn't look all that well you gotta go back to the Kilroy Mile Back in March the finding good but at least it was over this turf fourth and he could pop up Sadler. He's five to one the raises a bunch of the race basically is is a bunch. That's a five to one shots hoping for good luck but I think maybe if he gets through synchrony can win I wanted to I wanted to like River Boyne off the lay off and then John White made him four to one and that that cooled my ardor well you know I looked at him him and he was a very good three year old and he hasn't won at four and haven't made a lot of progress at least according to his numbers and he goes from practice and I'm looking elsewhere. Let's put it that way you know a to go back to an angle from last week as that in fact Jay also came up with and Dash the other filled D'Amato player and here's able to do who the things that just seem to be running for Jeff at at least from what we saw last week while they they ran for a golden gate when he was leading rider up there and I talked to them for a number of years actually we had horses up there and he he wrote for us always felt that he was good enough but he was kingpin up there era and then he decided to make the leap and I thought it might be tough for them but it really hasn't he's really falling favor with the with the horsemen down here and he's a strong writer but he's a good rider as far as and dishes concern. He's coming off a nice win. Del Mar.. He's obviously never beaten this this group although he did run second Mendelssohn and his racing debut of that matters which it doesn't that was way back in two thousand seventeen at the Curragh but but he's he's he's developing. He's he's coming around and the way the model is going. I mean I wouldn't put anything past him and especially in a race like this in which really there is no standout and anything can happen so hey why not wanting to watch a couple of other thoughts. what do you make of this chance Salat Omaha beach matchup the very very different set of three year olds against elders in the in the sprint championship wells twelve sheds lots four to five in the morning line because he's not only the fastest horse in the race in terms of numbers but he's also look controlling speed and he doesn't even have to go that fast my my concern was and it's kind of happened in the Jerkins a little bit then I know that the inside part of the wasn't particularly hit that day but they kinda slowdown down twenty three flat forty five and and he's fast horse and I think you gotta use his weapon and I think going three quarters. They don't have to worry too much about you. Know saving reading anything so I I would suspect he'll bust out there and go. He had a nice breeze over the track. I think Navarro did the right thing by bringing them out early and breezy had a half and forty. He's seven and one third fastest at sixty five last week and he lied did it. The right way looked like he was relaxed like he got over the track very very well so he's going to be it really hard for Omaha Beach the rundown although I my theory about Omaha beach is that he's always wanted to be a sprinter and because he was so good and all the money's going long long that Richard Mandella kept running them wrong and why wouldn't he won the rebel in the Arkansas Derby any may have even able to win the Kentucky Derby had come down with the trap Levada brought his only sprint race of his career only race of seven that he actually sprinted
