Grant Stinchfield and NRA's Lars Dalseide Share an Amazing Story
"The National Rifle Association, a group I told you that I have had such an amazing relationship with, you know, I spent so much time at NRA TV. The NRA is important. I'll tell you they're out fighting for us, and they are important. They release this ad specifically calling out the media and this story, you have to hear it to believe it. Listen. I'd rather look like this than be lying dead next to my family. This right here is the only reason we're alive. No one ever told my story, and we all know why. My name is role on July 3rd this year. We're celebrating our freedom at our friend's house when the unthinkable happened. A neighbor we never met came in uninvited and started shooting at all of us right out of the blue. Before I can actually comprehend what was happening, one of our dear Friends was shot and guided instantly. Next thing you know, the shooter shot me right on the side of the head and through my left eye. Everyone in the house was screaming bloody murder and thought I was there. What felt like an eternity pass and then my eyes opened by God's grace to the sound of the shrieking screams of my wife, two daughters and friends who knew I carried a concealed pistol. The shooter broke away from the fight and started to reach for his second gun with my family lined up as his next victims. But I put four shots in this chest and sent him straight to hell. If I didn't have my gun, everyone in that house would have died. The news bands would have been front and center, but because I did even heard about it. Evil will always exist, and we are more ready to confront it with equal force. Now, more than ever. My name is ro Mendes, and I am a proud lifetime member of the National Rifle Association of America. So we would have never known about that story because the mainstream media is not going to tell that's powerful. The guy shot in the eye. He gets up, he saves his family's life because he's a concealed handgun license holder, carrying his weapon on him, puts four shots in that shooter and sends him straight to hell as he said. God bless him. He's blessed to be alive, by the way. Some people say lucky to be alive, lucky was a race horse at Belmont. That man's blessed to be alive. With that, I want to welcome in Lars daleside. He's a friend of mine, and he is a spokesperson over at the National Rifle Association. He joins us by phone. Laura's welcome to the program. Appreciate you having me on grant. Lars, that's a powerful story, man, and only the NRA is telling stories like that. Well, we actually got a little bit lucky on that though. One of his cousins lives a few miles away from NRA headquarters, granted to him got in touch with him. He told me the story we reached out to Raoul, and he was told me the story again and I was like, listen, this is something powerful and nobody's certain anything about it. And we'd love to be able to share this with more people. And he was more than willing to share. He thought it was important to get the message out. And you know, as he was saying and saying, he happened to be caring luckily because Arizona has constitutional carry.

Jennifer Horn Sees Parents Waking up and Pushing Back
"Let's talk about what's happening in Virginia. The incredible meeting at loudon county. I just want to play one more cut. We've been playing them all afternoon. Let's go to cut 5 another father, the loudon counting meeting, a year last night, play cuts. There's also word of a freedom high school teacher who's been transferred to Belmont ridge three weeks ago after sexual impropriety with a student. It's been learned 5 years ago. There was yet another sexual assault on a freshman girl at tuskegee wear high school, with someone this boy covered up. Scott, why are you so close to the Commonwealth attorney? It seems like our kids are being used as pawns in some social reform game. Scott, why did you have a private non foible meeting with the Commonwealth attorney, on October 15th, at that fundraising that you and I both attended? We witnessed it. Why am I still waiting on the page that was missing from the foia results on how you plan to spend the 11 hours tied to your masking and testing mandates? Resigned tonight, all of you, and in the mockery you've all brought in this great county. Resign tonight. Why are schoolboard members having none the foible meetings with other offices in the state? Are these stories are these visible at all? Do they resonate in California or are there analogs? Is anything happening at California school board meetings, Jennifer? Well, I think there's something that's replicating on the West Coast, just like on the east coast and everywhere parents are waking up. I think COVID did it. I think it was an unintended consequence of the left shutting everything down and fear mongering. Everyone home for a year and a half, parents realized what the curriculum was in school and just what is really happening and they're starting to push back. But I think there's two things going on here. First, you've got people pushing back against curriculum and critical race theory. Attorney general Merrick Garland was testifying today about about his memo in which he's completely, it got a conflict of interest. He's earning money about from critical race theory, or at least his son in law is, while he's trying to call parents, domestic
Jockey Club Gold Cup at a Glance
"Begin out of the gate with a look at the saturday race of the day. Let's throw up the field for the great one jockey club gold cup. We're going a mile and a quarter on saratoga main track and you can download free formulator past performances on the race of the day event. Page drroof.com also you can get the expanded stakes video preview of the jockey club gold cup and all the other graded stakes races all weekend. Long at video dot com or the daily racing form youtube channel. Last year's jockey club winner is in the lineup. that is happy saver back to defend his crown. The suburban winner of twenty max player third and last year's travers in belmont. He's here a speedy horse down on. The inside is forced to dro a very strong supporting cast. Let's see who mike and david like on. Top in the junky club gold cup. I don't know how interesting this jockey club. Gold cup is from wagering perspective. It doesn't feel like there. Are that many different ways to go ashore field. I'm gonna take down on the rallies the morning line favorite. I guess at the end of the day you could say. He has much more to prove than either of the other two short prices in here match. Play or super saver Certainly that's probably the case but this source just looks like he's shown this kind of potential basically right from the start always felt like he was headed towards races like this. He just had trouble staying on the track. He came back to lay off last time with a really impressive win over what turned out to be very solid allowance field and other triple digit buyer for him. It feels like he could be forward in this race where there's not that much for him to have to deal with. I'm just gonna take him in. Yeah i'm not gonna sit here. Suggest some kind of great belt if he does go favored. But i don't love the recent form of super sabre since he's come back from the layoff I didn't really want matchplay to regain this time. I've been chasing the doors for a while. He finally paid off at a good price when he won the suburban. I'll try to beat those two horses this time with four zero.
He Cyberstalked Teens for Years, Then They Fought Back
"That brings us to another troubling story per group of high school. Girls in new hampshire help came in the form of the only detective in their tam giang. Ladies were fighting to even go outside. It was not something that i had ever dealt with before. That's detective rachel molten in two thousand twelve in our small town of belmont. She found pursuing a mystery. Man was targeting multiple female students in a disturbing way. The case started when bolton was contacted by a girl. Refer to as. Kate and kate had a distressing stories share and unidentified person had been chatting her up overtaxed even though she didn't know who it was identified himself as seth initially it was friendly contacts and then one day it was like a light switch was flipped on and he just started requesting nude photos of her. She kept telling the person. No i'm not going to send them to you. Attend her the nude photos that he already had of her somehow is more or less a surprise attack on her that I have these. And i want more. And if you don't send them on going to spread these over the internet this mystery man was threatening to up and kate's life and it was now up to detective molten to stop him.
Belmont Apartment Building Evacuated for ‘Structural Concerns’
"Of residents are out of a home. They were evacuated from a seven storey apartment building yesterday afternoon over fears the condo could collapse. It's an old building, so you know, I just felt like had they been on top of it For all these years, we wouldn't be here. Cora notified her landlord of the crack in her sixth floor ceiling in late July. Engineers came to inspect and on Friday they deemed it unsafe. Recommending everyone evacuate. Actually, it's like a movie. I suddenly like. Refugee is the first I don't have this experience before Towns building inspector says there was no imminent threat of a collapse just structural concerns. But officials say the memory of the deadly building collapse in Surfside, Florida in June ramped up their response. All of us are on a heightened sense of awareness. I think that goes for public safety officials. I think it goes to building owners and building occupants. That report came from WBZ TV S Cristina Rex. Engineers will be back for a thorough inspection on Monday.
A Look at Farallon Industries
"Couple of months ago. I told you about a guy who dropped off some vintage scuba quip at the shop. One of the regulators was an old poseidon cyclone and that spurred me to segment on poseidon here on the show. I also mentioned that the cyclone was complete with a set of farallon gauges and that there were a pair of farah line fins that were unfortunately torn so they got me thinking about doing some additional research on fairlon and doing a segment here on the show. I gotta tell you. Researching on industries was a bit of a challenge. It was difficult for me to piece the information together. So some of this may be a little bit out of sequence. Let's start at the beginning. Or what i think is the beginning from my research. I believe it was somewhere around. Nineteen sixty nine. That guy named ralph osterhaudt was working on a diver propulsion vehicle or dp that he called the mark one. It seems that this was pretty successful. Product and the us navy decided to purchase two dp marquand from ralph and it appears that that's when he started foulon industries. Farallon is the name of a small group of islands about twenty six miles due west of san francisco. I wasn't familiar with the farallon islands but found out some interesting stuff about them from what i read. They were originally called the islands of the dead by native americans and then given the name farallon meaning cliffs by the spanish. I'm not exactly sure. Why ralph named is company farallon industries. Farallon was based in belmont california which is between san francisco in palo alto on the san francisco bay side. The address was listed as one three three three old country road. But when i google map data address it came up with one three three three county road now. I like to take a look at the street view at these locations to see what it looks like today and today one three three three county road in belmont california looks like a self storage facility. One of the ways that i researched founded on industries was to look back at old trademark registrations impacts when registering a trademark or patent near sometimes a description of the business on one of those registrations the businesses described as as a california corporation producing goods and services for skin and scuba divers equipment namely self-propelled vehicles for transporting scuba divers. Interestingly i saw a fair aligned dp up for auction just yesterday. I think one of their most famous patents was also in early one. It looks like it was around seventy one and that was the shock dart famous because of its uses a prop in nineteen seventy five blockbuster draws the shark dart is described in the patent as a compressed gas injector weapon including parts. Therefore you may also see these come up for auction from time to time and complete rig gets pretty pretty expensive now. There were a whole lot of patent issued to caroline industries in the nineteen seventies. It looks like it looks like there was another row involved with foulon who is also inventor and that was ralph sham champion in an old article that i read who's identified as the president of farah line industries and was listed on a number of different patents. So let's take a look at some of these products in one thousand nine hundred seventy four. It looks like they submitted a patent for a decompression indicating instrument and it said it was an analog computer then in one thousand nine hundred seventy five. They produced a pressure gauge and started to design fins over time. They introduced the farah thin the fahrenheit which was a rechargeable hand-held light and then in one thousand nine hundred seventy eight farallon industries was issued a patent for a pilot regulator that said it incorporated a novel valve assembly in the second stage in the form of a unique main diaphragm valve and a pilot valve assembly. Now i did try to trace. What actually happened to farrell on. There's some indication that it was acquired by a company called tacna. But if you look on the oceanic website they say that. Bob hollis took a big step forward with oceanic when he acquired foulon industries around nineteen seventy six giving oceanic full line of scuba equipment with an innovative line of instrumentation products. I'm not exactly sure when oceanic stop branding their products with the farallon logo. I did find a price list and catalog. from nineteen seventy eight. They're still showed a lot of the farallon. Products including their low profile pragmatic mask their patented molded mouthpiece swim snorkel. The farah light farah fins and all their instrumentation they were also still producing four versions of their diver propulsion vehicle. The mark to the mark sri mark for mark five. Interestingly in that cadillac. I did see that. Both the farallon. An oceanic logos were shown together. And oh by the way you could still get the shark dot and he came in two flavors the magnum supreme in the magnum super. Well i knew. When i started this research on farallon line industries that would be a little more challenging than some of the other companies that i've researched farah line. Industries wasn't around very long but it looks like they did some really interesting

"There definitely willing to look past that poor effort in the epsom derby his to start this year very very impressive on the road to the darker you can understand why he was the favourite india english darby. He's cutting he's cutting back in glass a little bit to a race. It has some good american horses. There are good american three year olds in this race. But i don't know that they have the talent to stack up against a horse who is favourite in english. Classic race i'm not going to try to beat bolshoi ballet here. Neither is eric again. This is a very chaki week. And i already prefaced it. I ended up picking three favorites out of the five races that we picked on this episode. But i feel confident in aidan o'brien's to europeans and i'm not going to try to be bolshoi ballet. I have a preview for both the belmont derby and the belmont oaks. If you want more in depth analysis on them another horse that we have liked unreason run up before that i will be using is safe conduct. He is some good value on the morning. Line right now. I imagine it's going to stay there but don't look pass the americans in here. Because there are good americans but for me bolshoi ballet's just too hard to beat and with that being mentioned. That's it for this week's episode. We'll see you next week when we will be previewing opening weekend at del mar and saratoga very excited for those on top of that. We get a really nice treat. We have the haskell at monmouth park as well as accompanying stakes races on that card as well so opening weekend in del mar opening weekend at saratoga to the best tracks in summer and a very big monmouth park. Hopefully eric will be back with us next week. I haven't. He hasn't given me an indication that he won't be so all things. Go right eric. We'll be back with us next week and we'll get into what is going to be very fun summer at del mar and saratoga and erase. It is going to to give us a clear picture on how the rest of the three year olds not named essential quality are going to stack up for the rest of the year. How's it going. We'll we'll see you next time..

"In both of those were fourths one of those was in her first career start. The other one was in the ash where she was beaten by three graded stakes winners speech venetian harbor and on bhutan. All three of them are great statesman or so certainly not losing about horses. When she's losing. I i love the thought of her. Getting back. Out to a mile and a quarter. She ran a very good race behind swiss skydiver who is not losing that day. An you know. Bonnie south was coming from really far backs with scott didn't lead the whole way but she was just basically doing whatever she wanted to do in the stretch of the alabama and that was a very good effort for her body. South ran a very good second place finish behind her. Swiss skydiver was villa last year. Bonnie south had flashes of of really really good efforts and she is she only has one stakes when one race one Since she won the fairgrounds which was which was the race that everybody thought was going to propel her to the top of the philly division Did not necessarily do that but she has not run bad in any start really in her career except for he. You know you might make the case for the first career. Start of her career but aside from that she's been very good. I can't go against her here. I don't love anyone in this race. Outside of her. I can see reasons for her getting beat because she has gotten beat on the spot before races but she just looks to be in the best form Eric is going to take shot against her though he is going to be going with. Miss marisa the horse. Who finished ahead of her in the black eyed susan stakes. And now we're going to head over to belmont park. There are three graded stakes on saturday. At belmont park. All of them are very impactful to them. Great ones the belmont. Derby and the belmont oaks racist. We've been waiting for for a while and Unfortunately for the americans here these races are definitely very top heavy with europeans coming over a european specifically trained by aidan. O'brien and we'll start with the belmont oaks. Eric and i are both going to be going with santa barbara. In the belmont oaks. The favorite for the epsom oaks backing june. She didn't run to well there. ran fifth which was an okay effort snowfall. The winner of that race won by sixteen links. And you know. Santa barbara has run some good races this year hasn't been at. The oaks wasn't the greatest effort but she redeemed herself in a group one ireland where she finished in neck back of thundering. Nice who very nearly beat at the moment. The top turf mayor in america mean mary so certainly an effort that was redeeming of that oakes performance. And you know. She is still been very lightly raced in her career she. She did not run after her maiden breaking effort until the one thousand guineas which she ran it very good fourth-place finish there. She was a couple of nex away from being second in that race of certainly very strong for her. The oaks was whatever. And i'm willing to look past that. I think that this is a race that santa barbara is going to be able to win. Games mission is affiliate has been talked about numerous times on racing run out. i like her as evaluate underneath. I haven't spoken to eric about it. But i know that eric has been high on gam's mission for a while and i would imagine that. He thinks that she can run a very good race in the other horse. I like specifically in here. For value is serena. I used her in this race. The one reason that. I do like her as if she goes to the lead in here because her two best races this year had been when she's gone to the lead so hopefully she does that if not an oh well but the to vilis that i feel really confident about running. Strong races are santa barbara and gam's mission one final note ignore the figures with gam's mission. I talked about it. In the preview for the valmont oaks on youtube. I talked about it or both of us talked about it after she won the regret stakes to figures. Don't really look great on her but that doesn't really matter. We'll move on now to the grade. Three victory ride this really interesting race for three year old. filly sprinting. A sandwich in between two really good three-year-old grass races. This is all over the place. The favorite right now in the morning line is australasia. A really good philly for brad cox. Who has done some good running. She wanted a stake race on the sunday after the belmont stakes jersey girl. She's undefeated in her career. She's a louisiana brett. Lot of her runs. Have come against exclusively louisiana breads but her to starts Outside of the state of louisiana the churchill downs allowance race and jersey. Girl would both good efforts for her. However i have been picking favorites all weekend and i think that you know i. I've never been so convinced on australasia. That i think that she's an unbeatable horse so i'm going to look against her and the horse. I'm looking to is affiliated. Wesley war who for some reason is ten to one on the morning line. I don't really know why she's tend to one. She's undefeated on the dirt. Coming out of a graded stakes win at pimlico. She wanted to miss preakness stakes her allowance. When it keeneland this year office significantly off was a very very good effort for her. Obviously a greatest stakes when her one bad start was a turf race at kentucky. Downs and doesn't really look like this philly is a turf war. So i really like this philly in this race. I want to beat australasia. I think i have the horse to beat australasia with. She's coming out of two really good races this year. Eric also going to try to be australasia here. But he's going with the other louisiana bread in this race overcharged who won a maiden race at delta downs by ten and three quarter lengths in her most recent start one and allowance at monmouth park. The same day that gam's mission one regret stakes. She won that allowance race by five and three quarter lengths so couple phillies to take a shot at take. A shot against australasia with australasia has been very good but i think that she is beautiful and so does eric. So we're going to try to beat her in this race. And now we're gonna move onto the big feature race of the belmont stakes the closing saturday belmont stakes. There's one more day racing at belmont park before we go up to saratoga. But the final big feature race is the belmont derby and once again this racist headlined by a european. There's good americans in here but unfortunately eight o'brien is coming over here. What the epsom darby favourite. Eric said this to me that he can't remember a time. A non breeders cup race in america. That aidan o'brien has brought as good of an entrant. Four as he has these two races and bolshoi ballet is the better of the two horses. Bolshoi ballet was a big favorite going into epsom. Darby did not work out for him but he had some problems..

"Start off with eric's by selling hold and eric is going to be buying a horse that we didn't talk about and that's miles ahead. He won the smile stakes the other greatest stakes at gulfstream park this week and it was a very nice effort for him. Finished ahead of a couple of stakes winners. Chance at and diamond oops is a really good horse when he runs a gulfstream park and even further down hasn't been a stakes caliber horse as of late but chivalry has run some good races in the past so it was a really good effort for miles ahead. We didn't talk about the smile. But i wanted to. Just give the context for that for eric. Cell he is going to be selling modernist. Modernist ransom good races in grade three company but his effort in the corn husker he. He really had nothing there so Eric is going to sell modernist in for some of the same reasons that i said about happy saver he is going to be holding. Happy saver a another horse from the suburban. Can't really toss out any of them. So eric will be holding happy saver and for me. My by is going to be cece. I didn't really like her going into the princess rooney but after that effort. I think that she has a chance to make some noise in some of these graded stakes races and if they run her in new york. Which is michael. Mccarthy has been running horses out here. I think it's a possibility that they could send her up there. Especially with yoga mean she can do some damage in the in affiliate mayor sprint division. So she's my. My cell is going. To be annexed a horseshoe as i mentioned. I really liked him. But he his last two efforts on the turf the american turf and then the the manila at belmont were not good racist by any means. So i'm going to sell him and my hold is going to be mystic. I'd i'm also holding a horse from the suburban for the reasons that i already mentioned and now we're going to move onto previewing stakes races from this upcoming weekend. There are five graded stakes races that we will be talking about. Three of them are at belmont park. But we are also going to get into a pair of graded stakes races from delaware park. The first one is to robert g. dick memorial This is a mile and three eighths race on the turf for the phillies. In mayors three year olds and upward in this race is very wide open. The the morning line favorite is michelin a horseshoe. You know we have liked to a degree at points in the past and raising run but she hasn't really run up to par her last few races. So i think she's going to take a good chunk of money so i would like to stay away from her in here You know i'm not really super into most of the other horses in here. That are shorter prices. And for that reason i'm going to take a bit of a shot in this race. There are a couple of horses that i think are worth taking a shot with. The horse that i settled on though is the to candy. Flower for saffy joseph. This is affiliate who has been running very good This year now granted in allowance company but her lounge races have been good. I if you watch the replay of them. She wanted allowance at belmont park last time and in the start before that when she was third she was only beaten a half length For for the winner won by a nose candy flower was only half linked away from second so couple good starts for her at belmont park and she's really been consistent throughout the course of her career albeit yes at allowance company but no worse than has not missed the board. I should say in any start in her career since her. First caruso which you can always forgive a horse for not running. Great shoe ran in that maiden race at belmont park which was in october two thousand nineteen and she did not run after that race until july of twenty twenty so very long break for her took her awhile to break her maiden the one downside you could say is that her victories have come against later. Competition two of her four victories have been in at the claiming level. But she she has one and she has done really good as of late. So i am going to be taking her in here. Just want to find a horse in here. That can beat the favorites for eric. Eric is going to be taking temple. City terror She beat One of the other horses in here deluca who is seven two right now on the morning line for some reason Dileita is a shorter price than the horse. Who beat her in a stake at churchill downs on the twenty second of october eric is going to be going with her and aside from that But before that she ran a very good effort in a keelan allowance race. That was won by. Daddy is a legend who is a multiple stakes winner throughout the course of her very long career. There's other words in here. That i think are we're taking a look at it a price but That's why like. And that's who eric likes. And now we're going to move onto the other graded stakes at delaware park. This is the delaware handicap. This race goes back out to mile and a quarter. It was shortened up to a mile and an eighth last year. Because of the circumstances of the pandemic it's back out two mile and a quarter its rightful distance And this race is probably going to feature very heavy heavy favourite bonnie south. The story this week in is it is going to be very chalky and i. I have to go with the chalk in this race. Bonnie south has been very good in her career. Only twice has she not finished one two in her career..

"Worse than i thought a horse as consistent as i say fire would have been able to handle him and that puts in doubt whether or not he's going to be able to get a great one this year. But you know if a fire runs decently a bit saratoga. There's always racist at belmont park toward the end of the summer. And into the fall that he can run in specifically thinking of a race like the vosper. So i'm sure we'll see more friends a fire at some point. He has not run a bad race this year. And you you. You can't say that he's bad off of a second place. Finish beaten only ahead by dual grade one winner so i think both these sources are horses to watch going forward. There's nothing really much underneath in here. I was optimistic about top seed running a decent race. You didn't run terrible. But he also didn't really make any kind of an impact so unfortunately he didn't run well but the top two i think are both horses to to look at going forward and now we're going to move to to racist from monday at belmont park and the first one eric is unfortunately not here so he can't let you know how relieved he is that guffaw finally got his losing streak over first win since he won the belmont derby last fall at belmont park. But i will say some things about the race. That i know of eric were here. He would be saying them. So i'm going to speak them for him. Guff oh definitely is a horse who has a lot of talent but also has some quirks mentally. It's pretty obvious that the horse doesn't like the left handed whip. It's beaten him several times in some stakes races cost him better. Placings didn't really cost them. Anything here. There was an objection after dafoe shifted around after the the left-handed whip was used but nothing ended up changing the racy. One by link it looked like coming into the stretchy could have won by a lot more so he kind of prevented himself from being able to win by a lot more so if he ever figures out is mental problems he is going to be a really talented horse. We've seen that before. And i think we're going to continue to see it up for underneath the horse. I liked tied to the c. Ran the race. I thought he was going to run. It definitely did help that. The speed scratch. I think he's going to be chasing that. Wwl mcknight win for the rest of the year. I don't know that he's going to get there. But i felt was a worthy shot to take against cafo with how much money he took and at the end of the day tied to the ran a really strong race. He looked like he was done off the far turn but he was able to hold on a very nicely for second year so very happy with that effort from him. I don't really know we're tired of this is going to go from here. I probably will not be picking him. I just saw an opportunity to get him at a good price and hope that he would be able to hang on and he hung on a good enough for second. So that's where the top two is in this race Not really much to say for any of the other horses. Underneath savage joys a horseshoe continues to be okay but not really take a step up And that's really all that there is about any other horses in here. We'll move on now to the other. Big brace from monday at belmont park. And that was the dwyer and this was the first stakes effort. Four first captain. The really really promising shook mcgahey three-year-old third career start first career graded stakes when it was a really nice effort for him. The race did not go. his way. By any means i. It wasn't an it wasn't a cakewalk effort. For him he won the race and he wanted impressively but ride with biden. The number four horse saturday very easy trip on the lead and it was just i captains class. That got the job done for him. He's obviously a horse. That looks like he wants longer. He's by curling out of an ep. Andy maher that definitely says this horse is going to want to go longer and really. That's where he's going to be going from now on you imagine. The travers is on the calendar for him shook mcgahey his one to traverse before. He's won the travers before with new shooters or new shooters. When i say that i mean horses. It didn't run in a triple crown. coronado's quest and rhythm two of his four travers. Stakes winners are horses. That fit that bill. I captain is a horse that you if you like him definitely can keep an eye on him for the travers because he is going to be a really really good horse later on into the year. I know essential quality and hot rod. Charlie are the top two in the three-year-old division. Right now hot rod. Charlie will be running not this weekend but the following weekend in the haskell so we'll see how he comes back from the triple crown. There's other horses that are looking to get into that. But i would say right now if we were to power rank three year olds i captain has to be in that top five because he has a ton of talent. And now we're gonna move onto another horse. It has a ton of talent mean. And i know every race that really any bob baffert horse runs for the rest of the year is going to. They're going to have the the kentucky derby situation follow them specifically demean because she has tested positive before in in the kentucky oaks. But you know. I i will just say we can have that conversation at a different time. this is just a professional effort by can mean I saw no reason to pick against her. That's why i picked her. She won by ten lengths. I mean this was a fantastic effort for her. It's unfortunate because i don't really know where can mean is going to go from here. Because bob baffert is banned from new york that is going to prevent camin unless she switches trainers. That's going to prevent her from running in a race like say the ballerina or other graded stakes out here on the east coast so that that is something that's unfortunate. We could get a little bit of a positive out of it. I would think that the only other opportunity that they have to run her in a great one is the bing crosby at del mar That's a that's six along racist as a six and a half furlong race. I really don't think that six six furlongs would be too much of a problem for her. I've always thought she was one. Turn definitely convinced by that. After what she did last year in the test and in the breeders cup it would be really cool to see her against. the boys. Don't really know if that's the plan. But i i would think in terms of forecasting. That's really the only option that bob baffert has if he wants to run her in a grade one race between now in the breeders cup and i don't really think they're going to lay her up until del mar of for the breeders cup. So that's certainly something that we have to keep an eye out for. But you know ju just an opportunity to respect that. The the immense amount of talent that could mean has you know she ran a regressed a little bit visually in the we city step but it really doesn't matter she's just a champion on all class. Horsing i'm giving credit to the horse. I know that that may be unpopular with some people because bob baffert. He's a very polarizing figure right now but the horse deserves the respect. So i'm going to give it to her and now we're going to get to buy sell hold from this past week and i'm going to.

"In breaking effort at aqueduct. He broke his made. My two links on the turf Clearly as attor force he just hadn't really been i. I don't wanna say hadn't really been wasn't really doing his best running but he had run third in his last three starts and two of those were stakes on the turf and those weren't bad efforts but i felt that he was just a horse. It didn't want to win. That's why i didn't really like him coming in here. But he got a very easy lead and it paid off. He was able to win the race by a head. A very good runs underneath from public sector and the new york bred straw into gold public sector. I think it's a horse who wants to go a little bit longer. He is going to be. I think he's going to be a great stakes winner. Really good depending on where chad brown decides to go with him. I could see him be a horse for race. Like the secretary stakes at arlington park in that race will be referenced as a secretary. Stakes on racing rundown. It's called the mystery. We will call that the secretary stakes from now going forward. So if you hear the secretary sticks. We're talking about mr d. but it will always be the secretary at stakes to this show. I think that's a spot for him straw into gold. There's races at saratoga for this horse and even for public sector If chad doesn't want to try to grade one with him he could run him in the racing hall of fame stakes. He certainly done that before with horses in his barn bricks and mortar the most notable of them that could be racer him for annex a horse who i held onto after the american turf. The poor effort that he had there Obviously his running the pen mile you just toss that out But you know i. I'm beginning to think that annex is a horse that i'm ready to get off of because he has not really been good since gulfstream. Maybe it was just a gulfstream thing. I don't know but disappointed in two straight starts where he actually had a fair shot to run so. I don't really know what the problem is with annex. And i'm pretty pretty close to being ready to get off of him at this point disappointing because i thought he was a horse that had some real talent and now we're going to move onto the next race at belmont park on sunday and that was the john. Neighborhoods sakes winning. you're in for the breeder's cup sprint. And this race definitely did not turn out the way. I thought it would. Many other people thought it would. A lot of people thought that this is going to be frenzy fires race. But i will say for mind. Control the winner of this race. He won it by a head. It was a very very good stretch. Run between these two horses. My control i start for new trainer todd pletcher and my controls horses always had talent. He was a great one winner. A two and a grade one winner at three so a horses a dual grade one winner and he was beating good fields in those great grade. One races it's not like he caught some easy great one fields. Maybe the hopeful wasn't that good but the the field he in the allan jerkins is a three year. Old was a really strong group of horses. And you know so mind. Control has always had that talent. I i don't really know what the reason is for him. Never really having gotten it done. But he didn't run a bad race at churchill downs in the churchill downs stakes. I talked about that race. And i've said it several times that was a race. That was very very weird because the horses were all very close to each other. So i said any horse that was you really could take any out of it and aside from the top three. It wasn't really a bad race for anyone in mind control. That was no exception for him. He's been really good this year Aside from seven th at churchill downs. He was second in the carter. He was well beaten by machineries outs. But a good second obviously a stakes winner now and you know you go back to last year. Really his only bad efforts were the lafayette which was just an off race for him. I'm not sure what what happened there. But it was just an operates for him and then the other effort that was bad was in the carter at belmont and that was a day where it rained really hard and we know that the most part mind control is not a horse that likes a sloppy surface. So i don't know what this means for the sprint division. It's certainly means that we don't have a clear leader. Referenda fire had gotten this race done He would have been a clear leader going into saratoga but the sprint divisions kind of blown open. We don't know you know a horse who i think both myself and eric think is the best. Sprinter in the country ceesay rocket. We don't know where he is. He's kind of been. Mia and horses and really sees iraq is probably not going to be running in new york so for races like the vanderbilt and the forego really don't know how these races are going to shape out. I would say for mind control. The forego is definitely a race. That i would want to see him running. He loves seven furlongs and he loves saratoga. That's where his to grade one wins at com. He ran in the forego last year. That was when rained. He ran like horsey. Doesn't like to run on a sloppy surface but going back to a two year old grade one winner at saratoga. Grade one winner at as a three-year-old old saratoga both of those at furlongs. He loves seven furlongs. He loves saratoga with todd. Pletcher at the helm. I would not be surprised to see this horse. Run a really bang-up race and win a win a race like the forego for forensic fire. He ran his typical friends a fire race. He didn't run batting here. Losing to a horses a grade one winner is certainly not a bad thing for him at all. Only losing by ahead. i will say though. I think that. I may have jumped the gun a little bit because i said that this may be the year that he gets a grade. One win the division is so all of the place that that may end up being true. But you know. I really thought forensic fire was good enough to beat mind control and again i just spent the last couple minutes. Praising mind control but by controls are very inconsistent..

"It just didn't look like it was there for c. At this point in her career she tried so many different things and hadn't gotten back to that top form that she showed in the early part of her four year old campaign last year but she she did the trick in this race. Last start was definitely a a race. It you could've forgiven her for and you take out that santa maria steaks and she's two for two at and both of those distances or at seven furlongs. I don't wanna be too hyperbolic about this race. Because it's not like she beat the greatest field in the world down here. It was certainly a drop in class. From the group's affiliates that she had been running against remember last year she was running against some of the best phillies in the country. Now these are solid horses that she was against. But not really anything that you would say would be a horses at top level breeders cup contender. ceelo talent does a good horse but she is not necessarily at the top level at this point and below that i mean this field is not really that sensational. So you know. I don't want to take the win away from her or say that she's not a good horse. Because savvy see good horse. And i will one other note i will say is victor espinoza put a really good ride on her. I'm not gonna really nit pick a lot of the other rides. I was not a fan really of anyone else's ride in this race. Except for victor espinoza on cc. So that was a very good effort. Foresee in the princess rooney what that means for her going forward who knows there's racists at seven furlongs that she can run in. There's great ones that that will be up for grabs for her. There's going to be no mean on the east coast so you know a race like the ballerina is pretty much wide open. And if she is going back up to that grade one talent and she shows that she can win at seven furlongs at integrated stake race. I would say. I would be relatively optimistic about her chances going forward. Now we're going to move onto belmont park. We're gonna stick to belmont park for the next few minutes on this show and we're going to pick it up with the big race of the week in at belmont park. I will mention before we start off with the suburban though. We did talk about the perfect stink. That was the race it was going to be the return mark for via dera. Unfortunately the race did come off the turf. So chad brown's gonna have to go back to the drawing board with her And that's unfortunate because it looked like if she had won that race. I think most people expected her to do that. She would have been on track for a race like the four star dave. Now that doesn't mean that that is out of the question but it just means that it's going to be more difficult to get her to that path but talking about the suburban now. This is the big race of the weekend and we thought it was going to tell us who the best handicap horse in america was and instead it just made the division even more cloudy because max player pulled the big upset in here. Mr guide ran really good. Second and then happy savor a very disappointing in here but we'll get to happy savor a little bit later when we talk about buy-sell hold but getting into this race max play ran a very good race here a different type of race and he's run in his entire career. He's normally bene- closer. They put him up more more forwardly placed in this race and that may have done the trick here. He had enough late 'til to hold on in a tough stretch battle with mystic guide. And one thing. I would caution and we'll get to buy sell hold one thing. I would caution. From some people as I saw some hyperbole again. I've been using the term hyperbole allot because there has frankly been a lot of that. Don't get too hung up. On the fact that horses losses rates. Like i saw some people on social media and in other facets immediately dropping mystic. I'd now. I will fully admit that mr guide is a horse that i do have somewhat of a soft spot for but don't completely drop this worse off of one race. Let's look at why he didn't win the race. I will have. I was originally planning on having a lot sooner. But i was not able to get the video out but i will have a power five before the whitney of the top five handicap horses in the country and i will spoil a little bit of it right now. I do believe that. Mister guide is still a top five handicap force. I don't think he's at the top. After this. But i would definitely caution against dropping any of the top three in here i think. Happy saver is fine. I don't know that. I always thought mr guide was better than him in this race. Convinces me that. Mr guys better than him i. I wouldn't say that any of the top three and here are obviously. You can look to max player going forward but certainly with mystic guide. I mean he lost by short neck eraser. He was coming off a four month. Layoff in going. I'm i don't wanna get too much into speculation on the surface of the track but some people were suggesting that the real may not have been the best place to be. I just think he was not the best horse on the day. He was coming off a four month. Layoff horses start usually start. Second back from dubai. Usually improve from their first. Starting america's sometimes they win not all the time though the dubai bounces a real thing but mister guide ran a very good race in the suburban. That's something that needs to not be lost on people. Mystic guide is still a good horse and the time of this race for a sloppy surface was very good to a one point. Nine five really good time for the type of surface that they were running on. So i think these are all legit horses or at least top. Three i wasn't really super into definitely the bottom two. And i i always think already is a horseshoe wants to go longer than this. So that is how i feel about the suburban. Obviously i'm going to come to the defense of mystic. But you know this race definitely shook up the handicapped division. But i don't think it shook it up as much as people think in the handicapped. Division is as wide open as ever. And now we're gonna move onto sunday at belmont park in the first race we're going to get to is the mile manila stakes this races running a mile one turn mile at belmont park and it was won by original horseshoe. I frankly didn't really like coming into the race. Original had been a horse who had kind of been spinning his wheels for the most part Through this was his first win of history campaign in first win since he broke his maiden at acqueduct on the turf. That was a really good made..

"All the reason and then she'll probably have a good pay setup in front of her. There is some good speed in here. We don't blow out loves to set quick paces so she'll be out there but you'll have some company as well Squares everything setting up for just on talent alone. I think she's a frequent nature. I expect her absolutely rolling in here. Absolutely my most confident of the weekend and now we're gonna move onto race number nine. Which is the met mile. I'm just gonna give out my pick. Because i will have a preview for this race in that is machine alex. Winter of the carter Going to pick him to pull off. Another carter met mile double which we saw last year with coma. Going with next go and here. I am skeptical. How will handle one mile. We've never seen it. But he has performed will going one turn before he saw he up on. Yeah who was that group but at the same time. Charlotte kind of burned him into submission and he's still stuck route so finished. Fourteen was a very wide margin. But he's he's of course is four wins before that and the blackhawks were nothing but exceptional dirt mile and the pegasus for some of the better performances. We've seen in the last couple of years in this division. So is very talented I expect them to be able to think he needs to really make the lead but even if he does i think he'll be able to withstand some pressure and i think you'll be able to win this one and now we're gonna move on to the hardest race of the weekend which is the manhattan stakes are. Excuse me the manhattan. Yeah the manhattan stakes. Got confused there whether or not it was still the handicap or but You know and i. I did the new york stakes and i thought the new york stakes was a absolutely brutal race. But this race is even more brutal. You have four chad brown horses in here. And it's weird round because i think only one of them really has a chance to win the race. Rock emperors a horse. That does not win races. Do not be deceived into that. Rock emperor does not like to win anymore but at the end of the day. It's gonna come down to the big three in this risk. Afo colonel in domestic spending these. I think are the best three tour forces in the united states going this kind of distance domestic spending and colonel emdad heated in the turf classic at the horse. Both of them beat speed. Like straight who is not a mile and a quarter ten furlongs upwards just one. The shoemaker mile is past. We can very easily so we know how strong the form was from that race At the end of the day the absolutely brutal race to go with. But i'm going to go with the words that i think has the best chance at the mile and a quarter and that's domestic spending domestic spending his run to really good races in his last two starts in the hollywood derby and the turf classic and i think Get back to belmont park. He was a winner of an allowance. Race is certainly going to be a good thing for him. He only one that by a neck over don kitten but He's he's a really good horse. And i think that he's just going to continue that form that he shown this and for me. I have a preview of this race on youtube already. So you can go. Check that out and get my thoughts on this race. It's very competitive so very excited to see what these horses are able to do that. Being said if you know me you know. I'm picking in this spot. It's gluco i know he's you know he's lost three of his last four but at the same time it's been by head and neck and nose to domestic spending and and channel cats so he's very very talented racehorse. I think this is a perfect distance for second off the laugh. All those good things hear more about it in my preview of course but go all the way for me in the manhattan. The next race on this card is the belmont stakes We will have a very long in-depth preview for this over on our youtube channel on racing. Run out so Not really it doesn't really make too much sense to get into it here We both of us are taking a central quality in the belmont stakes. So if you want our full thoughts on the race head over to youtube check that preview out with that being mentioned that's it for this week's episode we will see you next week with a lot of belmont stakes Stuff to recap everything from the belmont stakes to all the races on the undercard so definitely given off for that next week. We will see you for that Also make sure to check out our various previews on youtube this week. Have a good one..

"Which you know me. Jack don't usually have differing opinions all the time but at the same time not that especially when we have as many races to take as we do. I'm going with dreams. Shake from off the pace. Because i really just i. I just don't like taking horses. That i know are going to be getting caught and speed. You'll see will. We saw him with standard last time out in the past day mile. But kenny do it again. Against or says that are you know better sprinters drain. The clock is certainly you know. He's held his own throughout the year. And only you know. Officially i mean is the official loss lost writer brazil. Only real loss was in. That found us where he's still running crazy. Good second so those two are going to duke it out i. If any courses to overcome it it would be jackie's more your but i just wanted a horse who i know lady impress. Probably gonna take shake back but him sit probably fourth a couple of weeks from lead and then nick one big run. I was so impressed with that last race. Getting back up back to one turn. After two races on the derby trail in only losing by head to jackie's warrior. I that was really really impressive to me. No one As tom dot close to jackie's while you're into one turmeric in his career in was right up there with and so it's gonna be fun though. This is going to be very race even though it's a six horsfield in as very early on the car which makes it all about. And now we're going to move on to the brooklyn steak said this is another marathon race although this is on the dirt so not quite as long as belmont gold cup but same idea but there are horses. A- at this level that do have some more experience than the american horses in the belmont gold cup to There are several horses in here that i considered picking one of them was rocketry but the rule with rocketry is he only wins marathon steaks or as i like to call it. The former breeders cup marathons. So that's the only time you ever pick rocketry. He's not going to win this race. But the horse that i did settle on The guy who ran a very poor race in the british got marathon last out but one at these kind of distances he won the champions day marathon at churchill last fall on derby week and then this year he took out the same race although renamed isaac murphy marathon. Or excuse me. He did not take that out He finished second in there. But i know he has the at this distance And at the end of the day. I don't really care too much about this race on willing to take a minor shot in here. I know that he's not going to be that high in the odds board. But i'm hoping that some of the other names that are more recognizable. Take some good money in here and be going with todd. Pletcher odua probably only the longer price of his runners in here. guinea's moretti. Who's won three of his last four before missing the end of twenty twenty and this first half of twenty twenty one but i was really impressed with his running the flat out last time out coming from far back. And you're seeing second eating less than a link he gets he gets. Dino adds distance gets to add an extra for one onto that one. so that's gonna do wonders in. His form was very very gross in his first. Recharges your nickelbein forty one lengths in two starts but at the same time we saw what he did when he's able to really really stretch out that was on my own my own one of my own three eight and ran she johnny now he actually has some really strong workouts coming into this. You know he wants the distant. So i'm very intrigued by. I don't know how necessarily the setup is going to benefit him. i like he can overcome it. But that being said it does seem like a horse like musical heart Anticipate magician won't be benefited being only two horses in this spot that that have early speed and never gonna move onto race five which is the acorn. This is very light field but it's a good group of horses but For me this decision was really not that hard to make. It is very well documented. This show is a very promo thought show but you know when we get to to race where malbatt's not here we have to look to the horse. Very narrowly beat mouth now. A both of us will say that. It was not really something that we were worried about. The kentucky are released air tight that he was not concerned about search results being mouth up but really really strong effort for her behind mouth on the kentucky oaks because of that. That's enough for me to justify taking her here. She has experience out one turn. She won the butcher at acqueduct earlier on this year. She's a horse is probably going to do her. Best running around a mile to a mile an eighth probably a little bit longer than that but she shown that she can do it. I don't really have too many doubts. That shall be able to get this distance. And she's the best horse in this race. I think on talent. I am scared of day. Out of the office in obligatory because those two are strong horses but at the end of the dam and ago with the horse that i just saw run a really strong race against the best female racehorse in the country. And i i am going to say that Right now i'm going to go on the day out of the office you're gonna get search results in really insist i feel like a one. Turn mile that daddy off holds the advantage with her speed because the race is not gonna set up in a way where i think anyone's going to be at a detriment from coming off. The pace will being on the lead. So you really can't discount anybody from that standpoint. But for data the office herself i mean her first. Three wins super impressive. Beat some really talented horses. Then she runs out really good second in the bristol. Juvenile fillies off the layoff erase spilled with speed. You figure should she. You know put in a good town of herself and the split but not get up in the eight thousand. She didn't win the eighth off or she ran a huge second. It'd be only length after flying on the front and second off the layoff. I mean she's just in the perfect spot. I think to run a big one here. Gets donald black as you. I know i go to him. And i read quite a bit of this week but i'm okay with that given the horses they're writing. I think she can share the need to be on the lead. You can let miss brazil in travel column. Maybe go out and do that and sit right off them up close in that imitates what matters but i love to race's last year going one turn. My daughter comeback race was huge. Gets back to belmont..

"Consider that four american power He's coming off a loss in allowance. Company to looking after kinney's but american power should be able to set a rather easy easy pace. I don't think he's talented enough to win. But i can easily see digging in running the second or third here and now we're going to move onto the better roses steaks and i'm going to go back to another horse that loves the surface at belmont park and that is victim of love a victim of love now two straight Graded stakes wins at belmont. Park in both of those were in the vagrancy She wanted vagrancy and twenty twenty and she wanted this year I liked it. That was her second by second. Start back off the louth. It wasn't a great group that she beat in in the vagrancy but several horses in that race are back Most notably pacific gale. Who i think is going to take some good money in here. And i think that may be a little bit of fool's gold money like the the two runs that have gotten from her over the surface at belmont park and i think chubb wagon lake avenue could take more money than her so i could get a nice price with victim of love in here on the favourite show. Chubb waggin Likely shared. I should say undefeated six for six. That wouldn't skip out was so good last time i'll because she sewed a new dimension being able to take off the pace rate You know she led every poll in her first five for your winds and then in that race. She got counting outboxed in taking back but she was still a in. That's now i read. Ortiz has been able to work out. You know really. Get the most out for so i think he can do it here in. This can be another very nice win for her. She continues to progress to bigger and better things. And now we're going to move on to the new york stakes. I will mention. I have a preview for this over on youtube. So i'm not going to to go much farther into this race than to get my pick on here but to direct you over the preview that i will have for this race on you to but my pick is magic attitude. Last year's belmont oaks winner. And i'm going to going with a horseferry similar to magic attitude in terms of running style in ability and that's the to virginia joy. I mean it's interesting because i'm going against magic attitude. Affiliate have given tons of love to cents. She came to this country and a lot of other talented horses. Mary's number one. I know i've picked basically every time. She's ran. But i don't like to pay. I know jack probably touches on in his His preview this one. And i think virginia was gonna be able to take advantage of of what slightly a pace set of on the quicker side and we saw last year mean mary kind of folded in the in the turf when she set the pace but they want probably faster than she wanted to. As a result horses came from behind the way. We'll pick it up a get the winds but virginia joy. She should be able to kind of follow that to beat some really nice horses Capital structure who i know has some really good graded states experienced bristol As well we're second third in those races are in that race. Excuse me a magician handle them very well thinner. Us debut second off the layoff. Chad voice rarely bounced from layoffs. So you know. She's got talent. In another thing i might add. She won that race without a patient front for they will one fourteen and four for three quarters in that ten for a long race so given. It's the same distance over the same surface given the setups going to be even more favorable than that. Give it to you in great numbers and was visually impressive to great things that go well together. I think there's going to be a really nice performance for her. And now we're going to move onto the final race from friday which is belmont gold cup. Eric and i are on the same horse. So i'm gonna give him the opportunity to have this because there's not much that i can say that's going to be different from what he can say. He was the first one to pick the horse. So i'll give it to him for this race and we're going to be going with the eight year berenson nettie four. Joseph o'brien and i did fail to mention i in that last racist for brian also has a affiliate marinade thundering nights without race has come up pretty soft. I would certainly gives her a look at least underneath bears lady. I'm not gonna say he's locked in here but it's it's going to be very shocking to see him lose. You know these american horses. Don't have you know. Two mile distance experiencing knows that do don't have very strong form. At those levels. I know conviction. Trade was set in that. State gulfstream dallas jerkins. That's that's not the same level. Is this burns nettie. Meanwhile as than really rising up the ranks. If you don't really understand how. European racing works and that the handicap system. So you're rated based off of your first few performances and then you try to improve that in that case will levels you run at. This was running at some of their lowest levels. Mccaffrey gigs and is now. On a row is first. Six races wins his career. And he's done it very impressively so much so that now's pick up back to back from stakes flint over very very talented horses and go to his wins from a from last october which was a group to and france. The runner up in that sense then gone on to win a group one this year in varying trusted fashion. And then you go to his only run this year. Which is the vintage crop of three in april. I was hassling. Swing going allowing three quarters so just a quarter of a mile shorter than this or is finished. Very strongly and the runner up in that race also from the brian barney master of reality has multiple grew fund placing. Some of their biggest races was fourth in the melbourne cup. A couple years ago. He's got tons of town so this is a horse who's competing with the best forces in europe in winning. It can easily translate that form here. He can run on fast ground. It can run on on soggy illing around. He can do it all helpful. The have johnny via board self should be a pretty big block that being said i would also say the one so high. He's probably even launch out of us. Ninety two one in the man award last time out that grade one at all but he was only beaten two lakes in fifth iran. Really strongly and he has the pedigree easily. Get a distance like this shirt from that side alone. The distance is gonna flunk so if you're looking for youth longshots shot. You're on a day grace. I looked to so high. But baron samedi should not be losing this one and now. We're going to get to saturday and some of these races throughout the week and are absolutely brutal And the woody. Stevens is one of those races. It's going to be absolutely brutal for anyone. Who's picking this six horses in here And two of them want the lead caddo river another horse. it probably is going to be..

"Glory. So so that's why. We're i just two straight wins. He can handle any going. I think that's a very big thing with her. 'cause forecast is very much Looking negative for for thursday and friday especially so she she loves yielding ground or the ground. If you remember that absolute rainstorm she ran through at saratoga couple of years ago that ended up being a dead heat in the lake. Placid she she's so we clearly know she loves the rain in the in the off going. So that's a big feather in her cap also is a big fan of belmont cheese always writing. Well i go with the lower price. Chad having said if she does scraps I would say the other that is low price in your ski by would probably be my pick instead and now we're going to move onto the other race which is the wonder again And this is another reason going with the longer price. Chad horse in here this one i actually think fluffy socks maintain some of her value and fluffy sox has been a really good horse in her career. I think she's a massive overlay at each one. She should be much lower than that but You know you look at her her career aside from her first career start which as i mentioned with publish you can always forgive a horse for not winning at their first out since then fluffy sox's is worse than second the horses it. She's lost two good competition As was shown in the members of silver she lost to bubbles on ice who didn't run a good race in the hilltop pimlico but but bubbles on ice is going to be a solid horse up. That was definitely a lot of crap. Happened for horses in there Underneath that you can definitely forgive so and you look at her runs very good runs in stakes races. As i mentioned she won the selima at pimlico last preakness day last fall. She also on the jimmy durant over a horse named giovanni who ran a very good second to this year's preakness winner in the el camino real derby. So there's some good back last in her races and only very narrow loss in the memories of silver so we know she's a really good horse. And i'm gonna hope that she stays up around the six eight to one range because i think that she is extreme value in this race and i agree completely completely with you jack. And that's why i'm also going to be on flood socks here. The distance is really just the biggest thing. This is a affiliate who is going. Want every single bit of this mile eight and from here on out. She wants to go even further with that that pedigree. She has the advice lumber who was a long distances himself. In and out of the kids going there you just know that she wants more and more and that's why it's been impressive to me what you've been able to do at a mile and milena sixteenths because that's not what wants to do. That's that's far below the distance as she likes so that's why i really liked her in the spot. I will say a little concerned that joust could be handed the lead because the only other will steve comes from the two colon lima. But but that's todd pletcher horses. Well i know todd pletcher a dome enough to let his jockeys go out there and dookie Out of the race. Oh that is my biggest concern to joust very talented That's for sure. I held her high regard for a long time but at the same time floppy sox's getting to what she wants to do. And then some other horse. You know gift louis I'm i. I'm not sure about getting this. This eight always thought she'd be better at a mile mounir sixteenth. Edgewood win was so nice last. Time out that. It's very hard to really go against her That being said i. I will say that eaten at race have not necessarily come back to do much. So there is a bit of a caveat with it. So there's there's a lot of ways you can go in here. It's very confusing race. Even the other chad plummer lee are both very talented horses cells. Clubby socks still for me. Because i do like the price and the value that you'll likely get a at a to wherever she might fall out the end of the day and now we're gonna move onto friday there's four stakes races. We're gonna talk about all of them. The first one is the true north steaks and this is a very Entertaining match up. It looks like it's going to be you have forensic fire the perennial contender belmont park and you have the the new guy on the scene. Flagstaff affleck's just one churchill downs on kentucky derby day so flagstaff is a horse. It could potentially be a horse. It could be a top contender for the breeder's cup sprint but forensic fires just so good at belmont And i don't know how good flagstaff really isn't at the end of the day. I am very comfortable taking a horse like forensic fire. That is as good as he is at belmont park. You'd never runs a bad race. There couple straight wins in grade two racer. Three straight wins in graded stakes at belmont park true north last year fosberg and most recently the run. Happy so i'm gonna go with the experience of the surface. Even though it may be a little bit i should say flagstaff may be a little bit too tough for forensic far i'm gonna go with the experience at belmont park in the horstedt rarely runs a bad race and i'm also going to be gone with friends. A fire in here just loved his comeback and his last are probably is his most impressive race really in a year. More festive than the vosper to me. I'm just from a visual standpoint You really have to go back to to the north last year to find a similar start so easily comey ingrates trade for you know now. He's carried over his fault from five six beautifully. That win last time. And i do think you know he has the home. Court advantage over flagstaff. Flagstaff takes his race everywhere. He goes but friends if fire ticket to a whole new level winnings app. Friends fire for me. I think if you're looking for some value you might consider that four american power He's coming off a loss in allowance. Company to looking after kinney's but american power should be able to set a rather easy easy pace. I don't think he's.

"First time you see his soon-to-be-wife. There's a weird scene where she's in the market and she's holding a doll of Virgin Mary or something that looks like or a doll of a gun, I guess Virgin Mary. Okay, it's just weird cuz this is often produces two of the villains where some weird creepy old guy bumps into her and she drops her Virgin Mary in blood. It looks like I mean, I thought think if my butt looks like blood to me sure does it's very red just it's just weird like I mean, he you know, grabs her by the chin and starts, you know talking to her and she's marrying the wrong blood line then as he's being all an asshole to her. You have the person that sold a Virgin Mary doing the whole I'm not religious. I can't remember it is like the Holy Cross or something where you do you touch your head like that excited to do job will take cuz it's all in one panel. Looks like she has 3 rma's. Yeah. What do you like? What the hell are a little like, you know slash marks or something. Yeah, I did stupid is really I I didn't it's weird like this first this first name. He was really odd to me and then you have some random girl show up and break the Virgin Mary in the mud for no reason but just to say hey, I'm evil. I'm a bitch. Yeah, the needs of the guy that she bumped into her. Whose name. I don't remember. Yeah, it does, you know live long he plays an important part but it's just a strange little opening and you know with with this piece characters. You don't know just sort of took her name. Oh, yeah. Yeah this whole issue is rushing to get the ply like it's introducing everyone all at once like the whole the whole series heels kind of rushed. But I mean, they had to cram a month ended up five Comics so I don't yeah. I also read it super fast. When I started I read majority of this in one day to sit quickly in between little loose. Yeah. There's not a lot to gain lot of empty planells without dialogue and when there is dialogue, it's all pretty short. There's a lot of action scenes though. It's it's a very quick read which is kind of nice after the after week's meeting. You've been having a dog. You have a quick. That's true. And it has one of my favorite panels that I I just love this panel as he's walking as going to church go get married, you know, he come in early for his wedding and he walks by a painting which kind where they talked about this. My destiny re-reading my head is the fiend Dracula somehow prevent revenging himself upon the house of Belmont in his shows part images from I thought Draculas 3 and dragged in or not traffic Castlevania 3 and Castlevania one because I swear that right picture look like Simon Simon Belmont, but it's not apparently it's just Trevor but that's inside that right picture off account. But picture Dracula is lifted straight from my Castlevania one box art..

"And Charlotte. Newfield. We're sort of key and getting some of them saved there if you look at the. The where the. I don't want to call it paid-in. Thank you. That's the best word for it. And if you go further up towards the grass, there's a line of stones that are original from the Belmont rocks and they're arranged in kind of a CD Neria, in a couple of other different places, a lot of the graffiti on them sort of survived. It's interesting because there's a few pieces I have pictures of what the Rock looks like today and I have pictures of what that rock looked like with the paint room vibrant and stuff. So it's kind of it's interesting. So is there any interest are talk about pulling those rocks out of that area and putting them inside a museum where? They can be preserved for generations to come because. The weather's going to? Get. Limestone, doesn't ask to not that. I. Know of I mean I imagine it would be. Their limestone. Blocks. They'd be. Having to Transport Owen. The when that was happening, Tom Tunney was going around with a piece of chalk and marking the ones that needed to sent. Charlotte knew Feld down there with him as well. Doing that Charlotte, and how did she involved? Charlotte sort of a lakeview institution, always, very politically active. Always a huge. Allied to the community. Just a wonderful woman. How do you think we're gonNA respond or handle the aftermath of the trump administration because we went through? Things very similar with the Bush administration and the Reagan era. But I feel like right now, a lot of the Internet and a lot of tools are with the passing of citizens united. A lot of foreign countries and governments and companies are looking to decimate the United States as a whole for their own. Interests and gains and lgbt people have always been sort of the the Varley early warning signs realties. Of that and right now where we're. We're being pitted against each other on announced to ourselves, using social media's weapon. Yes, and so when we have a disagreement where we're starting fighting with each other and we start putting things on social media, a public space to argue to have their heated discussion that's being escalated by a third party us being using. Their sort of pushing that forward. How are we going to survive the trump administration What do you think's GonNa Happen. We'll something personally I..

"Let's go hang out in the park with all your exactly, and then the later days on the Belmont rocks and actually the parking lot adjacent next to it became very popular with African American youth which again you know the white owners and the and the people who own property in that neighborhood didn't like that either and so since then sort of they just clear out that whole area at night just nobody can hang out there. I think you can use the lakefront path if you're on a bike or something like that. But other than that, you're not supposed to be in park after eleven. Oh, I thought it was dusk. Good might be eleven I think I might be. I. Think. But still it's part of it is like you know we tend to think of our gay neighborhoods as these fixed bases they're just like our identities and our sexualities dynamic I mean there's a reason why the lambda. At one point in time also represented gay people. But also to some of these places, you know stick around for years like you're saying probably these guys from the forties we're hanging out there. If you go down to like Jackson Park people are still cruising for sex there and it's like they've been cruising for sex since the park was built I do know as as we've progressed. And Assimilation as happy I think that the changes happening much a much more rapid pace assimilation is such an ugly. Ugly Way. Culturally. A culturally inclusive integration. Integration. Yes you now assimilation means that somehow that we're like being sucked into the, you know the access or the board and we're losing our individuality. But in many ways, it's not that gay people have really changed very much. Is that the rest of the world? That, we've become a part of has become gay or straight people are getting into relationships. They don't have kids much and they're much sexually fluid. We think of. scruffy grinder our spaces to hookup for sex but tender is way more popular because it's the same function for heterosexual people. I'm I think I. Think rather than assimilation maybe I'm more in a cultural way I think. I. Think. That LGBTQ. Life at one point was much more like a secret close. I think our club is much bigger now and I think our club is in quite as closed be as it was at one time, and that is a good thing that's progress. But at the same time, you do lose a certain.

"I think Hollywood beaches more a sign of. It's more sign of assimilation and the people are very much. They're out in the sun but it's sort of like a more inviting beach like anybody could come there the different when you happened upon the rocks. If you weren't part of the LGBTQ community. You got the feeling you had just walked into something I can't imagine. It feeling very welcoming. Sure I. Mean there is a guy who hangs out. We call them the Lizard Man. Hold on he might be listed. A nude sunbather and he Scott the silent has been brutal to skin and he insists on sunbathing nude and so. This little fortress for himself out of sand? No. Out of a sort of. All around him and he's out pretty much every day during the summer and I would say that's pretty edgy and. A Lotta Gender and sexual non-conforming people weren't around naked and acting out I had tell one famous drag queen shed cocaine, oliver her nose. I'd banish. and. So she like. We've seen people passing out. We've seen a lot of Richard Street men and his inflatable Unicorn causing a commotion, and there's a lot of social media aspects to Hollywood beach that we just don't have where everybody's documenting. Yes. And everybody's inviting the outside world to observe this it's a very different space. It's a public. With outrageous LGBT especially game in. Sensibilities where's the Belmont rocks was extremely private Yeah, and I think I think I misspoke when I said assimilation I didn't mean assimilation as much. Hollywood beach as much as the time period has become being gay as much or lgbtq is much less some. Isolating much isolating than it was. During the era of it's it's more open. Now, of course, this the world we back them, we're wanting to fight for didn't we get what we wanted, and now we're sort of like we're sort of like a dog that chases after the car nostalgia. Always Great. We got the car and then we're like now what you know though Anina, there's that but at the same time I started going to the Belmont rocks in the in the early eighties and into the mid eighties it started to change because the Belmont rocks were the area that kind of. Experienced the whole HIV crisis in a in a really subtle or not. So subtle way in that all these people. WHO MIGHT GO OUT SUNBATHING Lesions were the first appearance you a lot of times on the body and suddenly that would start to appear. So you had like. A.

The, fact of the rocks going away and that being lost and that sort of important. Pivot point I guess lgbtq history was really something that drew me to this project because you could see this fragile piece of history disappearing. You know it's it's not getting any clear in memories and there aren't any more people learning about it and so you're saying like it had it's kind of like in the sixties and seventies that's kind of like for for gay life here in Chicago is that kind of interesting that that was the area they want because the town really didn't become a thing right until like the late seventies and the eighties. "It was a it was a really good metaphor for sort of sexual and gay liberation because people could be out could be together and they really built community I mean you. Re there was a very big sense of camaraderie because it was out in the open, but it was also in many ways it was still kind of private because you're basically hanging around these jagged rocks at the time. Right so you could or on grass nearby there. So for a lot of people may have been harder to kind of get to the grass was in quite private but. The. Rocks themselves. If you would stand at the rocks and looked down, you would think you couldn't see anything. But since the rocks dipped and had different caverns, all of a sudden you'd be looking down in sale nobody's here, and then all of a sudden you'd see. A couple of guys get up from where it's like you couldn't see. Your Unless you're on a boat, you're not seeing anything there. I remember going to the Belmont rocks and on Saturday in the middle afternoon in. The mid nineties here in Chicago and there was like a guy showing his dick for everybody to see and he's like look my back. It isn't a big hot. Standing there like some sort of neo drunken. Greek. God. And rising from. Lake. Michigan and everyone's going Oh Mary won't. See The thing I love is that that there was so much of a claiming of that sexual power and just.
