"Well, Jan coaxing players in to making big statements like this in your post match interviews, Jude Bellingham find €40,000 by the German FA for those post match comments after their classica that he made to you in that interview. Is that the end of this? I could there be more possible punishments down the line for him. No, there won't be any more punishment for him, but I think there is a start of a discussion because it's true that the referee 15 years ago, I guess Jude Bellingham was too at the time. But he received €300 from a referee called hoist. That was the biggest scandal in German football, I guess ever. And it was like, in this game, when fire did this game, there were two situations as you've seen with a penalty not given for Dortmund one given for buy in. And it was clear that Jude Bellingham Alan hall on some other of the players that went out. They wanted to say something that they were ready to go for this. And we can discuss this a lot. I think Dortmund accepted that 40,000 quite quick. They were afraid that he will be suspended for games and Jude Bellingham of all the players you get to interview is a very very articulated. He speaks well for himself. He shows courage. He's a polite and but the last sentence I guess that made it. And what do you expect? So that's kind of saying that maybe the referee, well, they don't do what, but what Holland said about the referee was that it was very arrogant. So Jude Bellingham saved Alan hall and I guess this occasion. But of course, it's tough to say what Jude Bellingham said about the referee, the referee felt very sad the last days, but I have no mercy, whatever with him. He did what you never do, €300 €3000 doesn't matter. I mean, but they say he's the best goalkeeper in Germany. So I don't know. I didn't make Shaka's power ranking yesterday. Always great to see him play and he will be available this weekend. Borus Dortmund.

"Unless there's something that we don't know, a breakdown in relationships, you know, let's not forget. He lost his defensive partnership in konate and ObamaCare. He lost the emotional heart of the team in sabotage. Saw the slides there. He's not there, blah, blah, blah, he was supposed to take him in the next level. I mean, there's a lot of other things that have happened as well. So I'm just surprised because no, this is a guy you know. He was something of a cult in Frankfurt and called hero rather. Not a cult. That would be great. Liberia is called. In Frankfurt and bottle. But Jules, do you ever come back from conceding 6 goals in the first half hour of the game? I did in the first half hour against fiber. Did this? I don't think. I mean, there were 5 international 25 minutes. I think the first only happened never happened to wear from women but this guy history. Once a home, which I think, by the way, with glad bar in the 80s or something. I just don't know. You watched it, and you just could not believe it was happening. And friedberg was going like literally three almost, then two in a row, and then another one, the 6 one after 37 minutes, something is just crazy. This reminded me of Brazil, Germany. Yeah, it was obviously. I think stage and whatever, but yeah, very similar of when you find yourself feeling that this is it. You psychologically you've gone emotionally, you're gone. Because this is a really good glad bar team with really good players and could not react anything. I don't know how you come back from this really. And by the way, I wanted to say, Vincenzo griffo from fiber, who is one of yours, but not really one of yours, because he was born in Germany. He lived all his life in Germany, from his own parents. True. And obviously played for Italy before, was just incredible and he said, I mean, four of the 6 goals on set pieces is just like, wow, you see? We'll take Vincenzo green. Yeah, of course you would. Ever turn playing a few hours as we call this this morning and I start from the home, but then we'll have to do without Marcel brands watching from the stands because the director of football has been let go, which something that Hutchinson and us raised on the last show, write decision, is it the right one to pay for the poor results recently? Yeah, I don't think dawn is going to get a Christmas card from Marcel brands. Definitely not. Sorry, awesome. Look, when you're a director of football, you're responsibility is to build a squad. These reports that he and Rafa didn't see eye to eye, whatever. I didn't like the signings that they made last summer for where they were when under enchilada. Now you could say, I shall do one of those players. Fine. But then if your brands, you need to stand up for them. If the club won't side with you, then maybe you're not in a position where you can do your job as sporting director. I say it with all the love for entropy. Those are signings that suited enchilada, whatever, but they don't sue Everton where they are at that stage in their development, right? And I'm sure brands probably maybe felt the same way. So we saw the guys who came in this summer. He did come in with a considerable rep. He's fine, you'll go somewhere else. But it's rare for a director of football. Very much. To leave in mid season like this. Claude pell has also been working negative all these people getting sacked on this. Or in last place and have lost re in a row. This is coming. Yeah, and this was humiliating. I mean, the last 5 home to run and ran out really good as we've been saying before, but Santa Chen was so bad. And I think we had this role of a manager. In an English sense where he was doing everything transfers all of negotiation and everything you want. He wasn't sacked by the sporting director because he is the sport of the book. Yeah, pretty much. I mean, someone ahead of him. But yeah, pretty much that. And they should have done it before. It was clearly not working. They had a couple of wins there and their last minute goal to get points somewhere. Bay was just not good enough. And he's so stubborn, purell, and he's so convinced of his own ability. I don't think he sees the bigger picture or anything. And this was he would have gone worse. So I don't know who they're going to go for now. There's different sort of managers who have this sort of juicy firefighter. Firefighter to rescue us here. But I don't know. They look pretty too. Some analyze. I'm sure it would be. Can you just provide a little historical context about this? Because for people who don't necessarily know the history of the game in France as well as you do. Santa Tien no look it's just another French sounding team. But Santa Tian, historically, if we were to make an analogy, we just mentioned Everton. We're a powerhouse, I think, right up until the night even beyond that. They have a big rivalry with Olympic Leone. They were winning everything. They were the team. Because for many years, yeah, of course. France was unusual country where tyrese sends your man with pretty much nowhere. And again, there were the big guys, certainly they had some of the greatest teams out there. This is the smaller plate smaller city. It's difficult to complete. But I think they lost their ways a little bit. Maybe because they thought, oh, we are sanitary and we can not do anything wrong. I mean, we need a whole show to talk about then. They are all stories of bribery as well. And, you know, people are still spending money at the club. All of that. So the rise was great. The fall was quite brutal as well. And now they're trying to rebuild and do something good. They did work on the gautier finishing fourth a few times. They have a really good academy, but Pierre was the wrong guy Alfred was the wrong guy from the beginning anyway. So let's see where they go now. But it won't be easy. London's Metropolitan Police have apologized after an independent inquiry fund and responsible for the chaos at the Euro 2020 final Wembley gap. Is this a step in the right direction? David apologized. They also found the FA responsible the local council and the Wendy organization themselves. They went out to say that it's basically lucky that nobody lost their life. If you read this, it's absolutely terrible. We're talking about all the incidents outside the stadium, the drunkenness, the harassment of people, the destruction of property, the vandalism, and then obviously what happened inside the stadium when people just overran the barricades created a crush in different areas. The inquiry found that there were 2000 ticketless fans. Look, I'm grateful. There's an inquiry. But if you guys say, there's 2000 of those fans. Yeah, either your pinocchios or you can't count. We were there. It was a lot more than that. By just horrible stories. I mean, one thing. Did you see the one with the wind? So basically there was a child who was a differently able supporter in a wheelchair, somebody separated as a child from his parents so that they could push the wheelchair through. So they had access. I just imagine the trauma. I mean, I guess. If this happened, people. No, but I feel like you do this. I want to find the guy. I know exactly. I want to hang him upside down, but maybe by me unfair. This is horrible behavior..

"And for me when we're worrying, he says, oh, we had zero talking potential. You have genuinely sure a motive. You can't just undermine your players continuously. It depends how they take it. I don't think one near lead slip at home against major beaten by an injury time goal Jules. This isn't very cholula. Is it? No, no, it's all us. And first of all, to be to lead that home to seem in controlled by a study they were. And then to consider two goals in such a poor way and the winner, especially from kubo. Of all irony, the ramage with player onto Majorca, literally the last kick of the game is so unsold. So on all black too. We've been saying he's not having a really good season to be fair. And I don't know, it's just I thought they took the eyes of the ball. And I thought the intensity dropped once they took the lead. And almost in this arcade, we've score nice, okay. Well, he took us like he made the change. He took off one of the and Griezmann started. And he puts on ver cycle, actually defender. But it was kind of like sent the message to Majorca. And my aunt got a better team than I think than their table. So just on the first time that he messes up his substitutions as well, that changes that change the way the game is going. Get their first win of the season, the gap was necessary for Matt, go do to come out on social media and announce that Michael emano so it was not offered the job of sporting director at the club. You can call him Michael, the dudes Nigeria. Not everybody. We used to go to Michele manado. That's why. So maybe I could do something for those who don't know. He's Amanda state Lee's husband. He's one of the principles in thinking called PCP capital park. Yeah, so he owns 10%. Not sure why you name your company after a drug. But anyway, yeah, this is entirely necessary. His entire innocence, this comes from the fact that there was a story in the telegraph, I believe that said that they had spoken terminology that considered him, but then a manalo wasn't interested in the job or he didn't find the conditions were right in the job. I don't even know if that's correct. But to come out and say, oh no, we never offered him the job. But never said anything about anyone. Any manager knows not suddenly. They come out for that. I expect my dad to come out with a statement saying that he didn't offer you the job. Yeah, yeah. Tomorrow. No, it's not a classy thing to do. There's reason clubs. Don't come out and do them. And do this thing. It's not like, by the way, it's not like came out and said, you know, made a public statement. Yeah. Oh, yes. I loved it in your face. I laughed at it, you know, no. You know, did toss whatever. I reported that he flew to Saudi. Again, I don't know what to be able this is true, but you got to go and shame him. Yeah, why? Aren't very good right now, but Juventus look sharp and positive and dominant against them and they're too nail when they were exciting that there's 27 shots on gold? Yeah. Anything? It was really good I thought. And I deny on the border long game as well. But it was good. So I didn't know if it was because Genoa was bad or because the quadrato direct freaky, we set an agree first time ever. I think it's area that you have two direct sorry, diet corners, two different corners in the same weekend. And I think they only had $6 corners in the history of the league anywhere before. I think in South America, they call it an Olympic goal because they think young ones. The first time that was done was in 1924, the Olympics. Amazing. Although corrado said, I don't know what channel we said but for us that it was a cross. Went in. And certainly maybe Rupert's ratio and Thera should have done better. But after you were great, I don't know if the locale and Benton cop ownership, I think he helps when rob Jo doesn't start because I think he's been here for that. They changed the cool sets compared to even better. This game was good, I thought. I was like, well, what's going on here? What's happening? No, good win for them. Again. Will they have the courage to play this way against the bigger team? Speaking of you by the inquiry into force accounting continues and could Christian Ronaldo and George Mendes be dragged into it. Yeah, so we alluded to it a bit the other day. Yeah, so basically this is all down to wiretaps and false accounting now. Now this has become the central thing. I think because Cristina Ronaldo's name is attached to it. But basically, conversation between Juventus lawyer, a man named Gabe, and Kerr bean is now the sporting director. In the course of this conversation, again, as I mentioned, somebody references, oh, and let's not forget that secret document that is supposed to be secret letter, yeah, privacy, private letter. If people find out about that, they'll be at her throat, something like that. Now, the interesting thing is here, we don't know which one of the two guys referenced it. But of the two people who were on the call, one of them is not being investigated. The other one is. So while they won't confirm, which is what you said, as a lawyer, if you're saying this stuff, you may be covered by privilege. It's not a good look. Not good at all. On the other hand, they can't find this letter. There's talk of asking, trying to subpoena George Mendes, I think, is just going to laugh at them. It's not good publicity. Now, all that said, though, we need to remember, it said all along, you have a right to defend themselves. And I not comfortable with the fact that prosecutors, it's like every single thing they find, as they find it, they leak it to the media and help shape the narrative. So I think the reason I bring this up is I think you have a right to due process, and I'm bringing this up to remind people of this remove it. I don't want to highlight what they're saying, but it's not a good look, but equally, we need to hear their side of the show. Of course. Of course. Lucas ocampo's fire severe past your boy, una Mary and diarrhea. They won't go away during second place. By the way, not good. Not good at all. Not good at all. They've got players missing with you saying it for a while. We love him. We love him. We're putting him in our top ten, but yeah, it was not good, but severe. Arthur was strong. We said after the re Madrid game, they're so good, tactically, the Petey just prepares everything so well that they knew exactly what to do because the compost was still not at the level that he was two seasons ago. But still getting getting better is coming important again. You know, that was really good, severe and batches, both winning, big games, really. In the same weekend, to be second and third in early guys, pretty exceptional weekend for the city of survey. So football capital is big. Yeah, exactly. Jesse marsh has been fired as the RB Leipzig manager after they lose two union Berlin, gab, you surprise he's gone. I mean, the 11th in the table, they've lost what three in aruna. They've lost three in a row. They're 11 to the table. They lost three of their 5 children. No, but this is my thing, right? You knew you know Jesse marsh. You know what he brings to the table. You know what he can achieve. He's been part of your organization for 6 years at different clubs. So if you bring him in, you should know his strength and weaknesses. And there's got to be an allowance for that. I mean, you can say, oh, Jesse marshes fail. Yeah, no, but the club have failed. If they come into it's like, oh, wait, we didn't know it was gonna be like this. For me, I think they could have kept him a little bit longer to see if he could turn around. I mean, they're on the inside, but Justin marsh, they don't think there's anybody that's more schooled in the Red Bull organization way of thinking of football. You know his personality, you know his situation..

"But son and Lucas Mora did a really good job, know which at plenty of chances too. Just on paper, the 3D win doesn't really reflect the way the game went. It could have been much harder, but it's the biggest win for Conte. It's the wind that you take. And you move on quickly to a big game in Europe because they ran out of Europe, which I'm not sure it's a good thing or a bad thing. Find themselves three up sorry aware to Roma on Saturday and a second put behind me in that gap, could they be playing better football than last season and we saw grumpy Mourinho again after the game, having a little clash with the journalist? Yeah, really with his old players. In the second nature, played really, really well. There's a certain symmetry, right? In terms of the we said, right? Go on to leaving akimi leaving well, gee, who scored, the guy replaced Lukaku, the guy who replaced Ericsson and the guy who replaced takimi. Your boy Denzel. And they're playing open attacking football. And they're fun to watch. I mean, this is reminiscent of inzaghi's Lazio a few years ago who was just so difficult to handle. Amerino, look, there's two parts, right? There's the game itself where they weren't great and they had a bunch of people missing from Pellegrini to Tam Abraham to recall. It was important for them. There's also the fact that you play roger ehnes as a wingback. You play bad formation, you get thoroughly outplayed. But then there's what happened afterwards. Afterwards, he comes out and he doesn't take questions. He says, my job is more difficult than your job referring to the media and not just immediately exposing the studio in general..

"For libel, right? Yeah, you think the Phoenix was not happy and he said, Jude, I'm gonna get you. Yeah. These things have consequences. I don't know if the cops need to necessarily, but hey, we said it might be in trouble. Words of consequences. Enough Bundesliga. How about some quick hits instead? Pull away in La Liga winning two nil a way to answer your dad jewels 8 wins in a row for colletto and on my previous games, we got a performance as well. I think I got a bit of Luka jovic. Because Karen Benz and I got injured, that's the only slight downside of that win. When he gets hurt, he's not Kareem the dream. He's coming to dream. Someone says, said to me on Twitter, please stop saying the deal every time. So for now, for a little bit, I'll stop and he's injured. I hope I'd be back for the Derby, of course, on Sunday. Certainly enough of the inter game in midweek, but it was good. There were very in control, Venice, again, had a really good game, that second half, especially when they accelerated. It was really well. We said that had been on the downer for a while now, which showed. But when, especially considering the other results of the app again, and by the way, man, man. Benjamin goes off, logic would suggest, okay, put on a sensio put on hazard, play like a flu from whatever. The only game that bends in my maze started. Han comes jovich, he sets up Venetians. Great finish from venetia. But a lot of work to set him up. Yeah, yeah. And then he scores in the second half. And you know, whatever. Yeah, that was good. Cheddar no longer top of the Premier League as the full three two aware to West Ham, gap tomato sauce is sort of a fine detail. It's not the bigger picture and they have to improve the details. Yeah, he's talking about individual mistakes because as well as West Ham did and I love David Moyes. I was there. Great atmosphere. But obviously, your boy Edward mendy on the Giorgio backpack. Should you know got stick for the backpack, but I'm sorry, your goalkeeper. You're under pressure. Just booted up. It's not the right past. And then on the mask walker one of us walk was saying basically hinting at the fact that it was across. I don't know if there's peripheral vision or whatever. But I don't know how that ball goes in. I think mendy's one of the best goalkeepers in the world. We've seen this season Yan all block being example. Great goalkeepers make some big blunders. Almost better than he makes one big blunder. But we're just going to call this, I think it's a big picture too. They're not as fluid. They're not as good when you were there. When Giorgio loved his cheek, played together, which I don't think they've done very often. It's going to be completely different. Very different. Not because she could work. He's just different. Manchester City win three one at Watford and move into first place. Jules, you want to continue your Bernardo Silva loving? Of course. Or maybe assess Jack Grealish at center forward. So I'm gonna say it again and I didn't say that but another was the best player in the Premier League. I said him and Salah. Said it. I still think that it's him and Salah who are way above everybody else. And that game showed it. The second goal especially was just something special, but not just the intelligent and for greenish. Well, you know why I think he's a bit harsh, is it hard to put him back into the team after he missed a couple of games into this position which is still very new to him. And yeah, we saw called Parma being there. We saw a lot of different players playing them doing well. Maybe better than greenish. I still think it's such a process for him to understand this position as a force 9. Also, why is it a false 9? Why isn't it a modern 9 who just moves and you were there in person? On television, it didn't look like there was a lot of false about it. No, he didn't do the Duncan Ferguson where he stands there and he waits for people to lump the ball. But I think the force is not number 9 for stop. That's why he's called the first 9. But I think falls 19 to do with how you interpret the position more than what you are. It's not like when he was born, he's got like a barcode on his head. Because what position does he play? Winger attacking midfielder. Whatever. Certainly not a center forward. I think he played this game like a center forward, like a modern center forward. Did he play this game differently than we better know the silver does or Phil Foden? Different skill set. I want to revisit. And he's a good fame, I guess to play different positions and learn different things. Heroics from Devo Liverpool to win away at wolves and also move past jealousy in second place. Gab is called plenty of big one. He's the clutch guy. He's the closet guy. I love credit. Klopp after the game when he said, oh, I love him so much. He's got so much great attitude happy boy. He works so hard. He's scored so many big goals. I hope one day he can play for a manager. He'll give him more minutes. I know. No, but you know what? It's not a backhanded compliment. A Ricky score the goal. Liverpool created a ton of chances. It was very up and down during the game as well. But they're playing really, really well. That's your takeaway. The goal should have come sooner. It came at the end. This is not spinning. Yeah. It's not a rigid saving the day. Arri's still a rigi. Okay. Cognitive machine. Number 5. We have new league leaders in Syria, too, as Milan beat salernitana two nail jewels, your boy ribery, not enough. It's not just rib room man. I'm not even sure Pep Guardiola would save that team. And Milan did the job in 20 minutes to go share makers, grant tribute to salmon care, by the way, who as we know now is up for a long time, which is a big blow from Milan, but they did the job. They knew that this was again to win because Napoli there was other big games between teams. So it was the one to one to win. They did it. Well done today. Sad for my boy petrole legally coming. Yeah, yeah. I know that seems too much. I'm gonna go too many times. Speaking of tele time, I got could that really just disappear from Syria halfway through the season? This whole story is just freaking out. We've mentioned embarrassment for the we've basically said in China, when they were promoted this year and said to be they were owned by cloud Tito, man lives by his own rules, who also happens to own last year. So there's a rule which says you can't own two clubs in the same division. Obviously, what Latino do, you know, my thoughts on lawyers, they're mostly scum, of course. He goes and he first he gets these two Muppets to say, oh no, they own the club, not me. They're my trustees, and then obviously they're linked to him. Then he gets his lawyers to go and Sue and say this rule is unfair, blah, blah, blah. It goes to a whole bunch of levels, eventually he's forced to. He point these trustees who are supposed to sell the club. Last night was the deadline to get bids in for the clubs and the club has to be sold by December 31st. But you know what? I guarantee you, he's going to find another lawyer, another judge to give him a red flag. If he doesn't do it, theoretically, if nobody buys the club, or nobody credible, who's not connected to lukita, but of course, nobody credible is not connected to the teacher, but probably want to buy the club, unless you get it for free or something. Theoretically, I will take the job, that would be terrible. That would be a bad outcome, but you know what? Bad outcome, bad situation, bad owner. Held a one one job by laws, and that's only thanks to Alaska's goal from Genie wein. Jules not a good day for killer novels either, but at least they're what we call winter champions. Yeah, we couldn't afford champions in French. I don't know why.

"But presumably this guy watches football two, and he hires managers. If you're going to hire Marco rosa, who plays a certain kind of football, who plays a high line where you make those high risk split second decisions, then maybe mats almost doesn't fit that system. And if you have committed to maximals, I believe that's almost as the highest paid player at borus Dortmund. Or sorry, maybe it's your friend Holland now, but still, right? Right? You've committed to him, then put players around him. Choose a manager who plays a system that works for him, or move him on. It's very simple. He's not good at. But you have a very good point because sometimes when we talk about hummus, we only talk about his speed, the thing is that if you have a look at all the corners standards, they go against him. Often, hummus is involved completely. Not marketing properly. .2, .2, the first goal, yes, selected bum. Yes, no, I would have probably come for the ball at anyway. But it starts with a mistake from whom it was again. So he's doing a lot of tactical errors. And that is nothing to take away his career. He's had a fantastic career at the club. But if you see one against one against humors, he's doing something funny, body language is all the time. They take him on one against one. And I feel a bit sorry for maximals because what you say would rosa. He wants to stand high. So then he goes, get kind of explored. He's lacked of speed, but I'm not talking about generally that I talk about. He's been involved in a lot of goals against the class. It was a masterclass. But his team, he should not go the way he went. Red card cost them the qualification anywhere, probably. You're giving almost the cumin treatment here. I can do my boy as well. All right, we need to just buy him because we said this wasn't the greatest performance. I think it's maybe a little bit difficult to maintain the right thing. Obviously it's a big game Bruce adornment, but is there any reason no goals when should be concerned a little? I mean, I know from the kind of, but there are other places. So instead of Kim is and you saw at the end, he's going up and go. Let me show me delicious not from Paris, otherwise he wouldn't be getting off. But still, how did he not score that goal? He just has to put it. There's no going to keep his like 35 40 yards. I wanted to use on this. Yeah, to your question. I think that's one of the thing that impressed me most boys is that with all the troubles buy and have had they really free to away from home. But don't they want all their home games this is fine. And I had Julian August when I was my last interview. And I said to him, I had an okay career. I played for some I must say in all respect to these club average clubs in the middle of the road. But what do impress me with buy in is the way yes, it wasn't the best game, but the way you just feel that when buyer need a bit extra speed, they got it. They can increase the temple when they got it. When I need to, if they're going to take off the temple of the game, keep the ball they're doing it. I think that is impressed me and how you as a coach you can get your team to play like that. That just shows the class in the team. And if you saw yes, they were missing image. Kimchi is more like a symbol for the new buy and so to say. But if you had a look at their bench, it's not bad, is it? I mean, they have a great game and we're talking a lot of things. So Le Mans has got two again. Okay, check. So. I'm impressed with buying. I have sometimes more impressed with these kind of games where they're not up to the best and still managed to win instead of winning 5 team at home. Jan, thank you so much for your time. My only criticism is going to play for iron drug trunk for it. Okay, there is nothing average about the my life. I'm in come on. Seriously, man. You've been banned from the stadium. Yeah, honestly, I'm drunk if you're listening. Don't have this man back. Judas. A great except frankfurter. Except for the first time. George, we're just getting news. After yawn left us the magical recording. A criminal complaint has been filed against Jude Bellingham is being investigated by the police. I presume for libel, right? Yeah, you think the Phoenix was not happy and he said, Jude, I'm gonna get you. Yeah. These things have consequences..

"You don't realize these people aren't Latin. They're cold northern people from God. Trust me. It's probably where you find a lot of chaos like that. Such a game. And you can imagine all everybody shouting and stuff and then billingham said, yeah, I bring that up. I think he'd be in trouble because he clearly questioned the integrity of the referee on a game like this because while we're saying like, I would not be surprised if this game was fixed because this referee has been involved in a match fixing incident before. So I expect, or maybe just a one match band, I don't think it'd be huge, but I think he would get something. Or maybe you'll find that guy was saying, but I just think this is in a way you have to understand the frustration, especially from the dormant point of view that pretty much everything went against them, the referee decision. The Marco rosa red cards. The fact that they played well and yet still managed to lose this game when it was a home and all of that. And you know obviously you don't agree with what Bellingham said. But you can understand that. But if I may say because I think this is a point of judgment on that, because I spoke to boardman, imagine I am driving back from Dortmund to this love where I live. There was some focus. Let's put it this way. The statement or the position of Dortmund, I think, that's why I think that attacker was more planned. Is that he's not saying he just says fact in their point of view. I'm not talking about myself and my point of view. This is the fact. This happens. And then he went on and that came at the end of his kind of answer, you know, it's not like if you said, oh, remember, that referee was involved in March 15th. I said, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. He said it by himself. He didn't even. Okay, so I think this should happen. I think we're in agreement here that this is something that was that they went inside. They talked about it. And to some degree, anyway, was planned. And I think that's a big point. I'm not backfired. She provide a little bit of context to help me out on this one. But about when fire was bad. It was referee named Robert heuser. I was just back in 2005. He had befriended certain Croatian bookmakers underworld figures who were creation Germans. They were fixing games in the third in the third tier of German football where you've got a mixture of the second team, amateur teams and others. And they were fixing them for betting purposes. A number of referees got involved in this. From what I remember from what I've read since I saw it up on this, obviously it was a young referee at the time. I think it was 25, something like that. And his involvement was he was found to have taken €300. At one point and he was banned for 6 months. Heyser obviously was banned for life. This is pretty much what we recall here from that yawn. That's a pretty fair summation. I'm not missing out any important details. It's fair, but I just feel that you kind of telling the story a bit like his defense lawyer. Because I'm saying this in a funny way, I'm not to say anybody you know what I say because there is a thing to see from both sides. So if you once was corrupt in our referee because it's all about credibility. I mean, you can say that I was small divisions, not a lot of money, but if you've been a referee who wants to money because that doesn't often happen in European football. I mean, this was the biggest biggest scandal of German football. I'm not saying ever, but ever. It's been unbelievable at the time. And he was involved, that is also the fact, and then we can talk about how long should his punishment last. I'm just saying that for politicians or a football referee, there is something called credibility. I just want to say that. So what I think that is, it's a bit striking on Saturday. And I didn't know that. I was like you. I had to read myself up again. I had to Google me up again. I had forgotten about swire more or less that he was the referee involved in that. But it's still a thing that I talked about in the Bundesliga clubs. That is interesting. I think because that is not only Jude Bellingham and but here's my thing, right? More broadly, I think you can apply this to life. You can apply this to anything, right? Let's happen in 2005. We have rules. He didn't face criminal prostate prosecution. He only faced sporting sanctions. There were no grounds to prosecute him criminally at the time for what he was for what he was found guilty of doing. So first of all, that's one important thing. We're not talking about somebody who has broken the law. He is broken sporting law. At the time, in 2005, the wise people of German football, whether we like it or not, got together and they said, what is John said? What is an appropriate punishment? He was given that appropriate punishment, or he was given that punishment. It could have derailed his career. It certainly set his career back as a referee. And he came back 15 years later to the fact that as John said earlier, he is an elite referee. He is a FIFA referee. That's fine. That's fine, but I'm saying is, at some point, I mean, we have to understand, right? Then burn somebody at the stake, Bannon forever, because I think we have to we should. When anybody commits a crime, go back to Michael Vick and my Philadelphia Eagles and dogfighting. You've done that. You give second chances. This is what we do as a society. And he's shown that he's earned it over the past 15 years. Maybe. And of course, by Andy didn't buy that game. Of course, there was no game with not much. But they would always be suspicion. And I.

"And I can't see that isolated. I think that is a lot of frustration getting out of Dortmund. There have been annoyed about buying. They feel a buy in on blah, blah, blah, you know how it is like in German football. So Bellingham when all in honest. And when you're standing there and he says this, you can't believe your ears. And you have to as a journalist, you have to make I can't call my journalist. You have to make yourself a decision. Should you follow that up? But because he kind of digged himself so the follow-up question, correct me if I'm wrong would have been sorry, Jude, are you implying that he was biased and intentionally made you lose? That would be the natural follow-up question. And that would have gotten a ton more trouble. He's already into bacteria. He's already in trouble. I personally think you as a club. If you're talking about an addressing room, you need to think about who you are sending back out there to represent you. And maybe you go with older players. But Bellingham is one of the best job. I have to say Bellingham a credit to him. He's 18. He's very articulate. Articulate. But on this delicate topic, I'm just saying that there was a reason why they sent him because they felt he's one of the best ambassadors they have. Let's stick with this because I think this is critical. Now, based on what Jan said, what we understand is they all went inside, they're all angry, and as you said, there's all the bosses, the zorks and the vodkas and the other creatures that inhabit Dortmund. And they're all angry and they're all angry at fire for those contentious decisions. And we presume that in that context, somebody brings up the fact that he was banned 16 years ago, again, it's not a secret, right? At that point, I'm just wondering, I'm just throwing this out there. You said Bellingham is one of the more articulate people. He certainly is, he's very clever. At that point, I would expect a senior leader at the club. Because to have the sensitivity to understand, this is very serious. If we go out and we reference this in the wrong way, people are going to get parent. So maybe you think do I want to send an 18 year old out there? Or B, do I want to coach him before I send him out there so that if he does bring it up, he brings it up in the right way. In a way that won't get him banned. Or maybe I would say don't bring it up at all. Lets get in zork because even if those guys get banned, it doesn't make any difference. Those guys talk about it. Can we say PR wise, or at least for the good of dormant that this backfired, that nothing good is going to come out of this, Yan or is that unfair? When I saw the reaction on Twitter, when we brought that interview over, I mean, first of all, I think it's 3 million people have taken it down. I mean, it's huge. And a lot of people didn't know about this thing about the referee. They didn't know about his background. That is one thing, but I call also my studio and said, please take the whole interview out, because I want them to hear that. Because first of all, he was talking to the Julian Brown toys doing a blah blah blah blah. And when I had Harlan, Harlan said he's arrogant and I can't say anything more now, but that will get me in trouble. But my last question to Harlan was, as a football club, if you get decision against you, isn't that the part of a football club's kind of how you're going to treat the game to kind of don't react the way you're doing? Because I think that when you saw what happened on the bench, I mean that was unbelievable. I've never seen something. I've seen club I've been standing next to club in a dug out seeing what he sees doing endorsement and in Liverpool. He is going ballistic at some time, but never have I seen a staff carrying the manager the coach off. So with a yellow card that Mark Ross had at that point, that was not a great signal. And I think that that took them into the dressing room. I agree with you. I think that should be maybe a leader because he could be in trouble though. I'm not sure that it will do it. I think that it could get away with a high find. They are talking about the broadness of years ago having a bold boy where to get €20,000 something. But this is a bit more serious because he had to referee could do it again. And if I may say, I think that the serious part of this is that footballers and we saw Jude belly wasn't even people nearly two or three years of age when this happened. But still, in Bundesliga, they are talking about that. This referee is one of the best around. This is a guy who is an elite division at UEFA, but still in the Bundesliga, the players, the clubs are still talking about what happened 15 years ago. And that is interesting because that race a couple of things about the procedures should. Should they be banned forever? Or should he well should he be protected? Should he be among the best and so on? George, I think you go and then I'm going to provide a little more context from what I recall and Yan's gonna help me about what actually happened with Felix vya in 2005. So my theory, right? When I saw watching the game and then saying Jan's interview with Bellingham, was I can just imagine in the tun after the game, right? A bit of chaos because as soon as fu time is given by the referee, you can imagine zork and Vasco and zama coming down into the tunnel into the dressing room area where you also have Sally Hamilton and all the bind people. So can you imagine everybody? The referees coming in, then you can imagine zork saying to Felix Felix, you know you've been bought before and everybody's shouting and stuff and Bellingham hearing like, oh yeah, yeah, I didn't know this..

"I'm gab. He's jewels. It's grim and chilly and overcast in West London. Even more overcast and Dortmund right now. That's a classic. Jules, so much happily. New league leaders in city are new league leaders in the Premier League, Paris Saint-Germain sticking it up. Sponsor. Don't get it. Absolutely wild stuff and a grumpy Mourinho to boot. But let's start in Dortmund dear classic Byron against Bruce adornment, buy in one three two. But and joining us is if you are, of course, who else. Not a great performance from Bayern. A lot of acrimony will get to the acrimony in a second. Any reason for our boy Julian to be a little bit concerned here or is it just a case that dormant we're ready and I thought they played well and simply lost this game because of individual mistakes. Which I think is a part of their frustration as it happened. But on the same way, I'm also bit impressed by buying when you think of all the hectic things they've been through with COVID with Qatar with their board meeting that went ballistic. But still managed to make that performance. And when you think of it, although they didn't play very well, they still won three two away from home against their main challenger. So I think Julian agma was said, well, okay, I'm okay. I feel okay. It's four point lead and we beat the door open. This is the kind of thing jewelry reminds you know in like fans like when sort of a bigger team, but it's a smaller team and they somehow wings and all the fans saying, that's why we're champions. It feels like you're rubbing it in. And you're so angry before we get to the referee. No, I think every season we have young after every classic and we keep saying, oh, no. They often close, but there's always something missing and they don't win the game and they don't go over bion in the table and it was exactly the same on Saturday. They were so close. Just not closer. Let's get to the decision because obviously bush, a lot of birthday Dortmund fans feel that they deserve to win this game and they're putting the referee as a blame on the referee Felix. But just off the top, the two decisions obviously Royce on Lucas Hernandez on Marco Royce. And then the mats hommels handball. Just quick whip around. Jan were those decisions correct? Can you live with them? I can live with them, but what I can't live with. And I think that's what is all about. Is the leadership on the pitch. I think that if you do the first situation with Royce, I mean, was it a penalty? It was not a penalty. We can always discuss that. But I think what the dork wants and people got frustrated about. Was that why didn't you do that? Why were you thinking too too thinking? Well, if that is a penalty, I won't have the top game, the classical decided by a thing that is very doubtful. So he doesn't go to the he does a way it probably speaks to var, but he doesn't go to the screen and have a look. And then you have this next situation that we must as a neutral say, well, you can give a panel to their account to you. But still, that went on for four minutes, Marco also went ballistic. And I'm not sure about the stuff did him a favor, carry him away, like a kid. I don't think that even more so. Yeah, because that kind of situation extreme. I said, I would sit in the next room and brought, and I said, look at the stuff. Why is he doing that? And then he just felt that you gave the referee a chance to send him in the stand. So I think there was more or less the leadership on the pitch does that was not there. The decision in themselves that could be discussed as we did discuss this situation all the time. Okay. I mean, I think they were driving it because I didn't see the Royce one, maybe, but he said he saw it clearly. It's a pen for you. Okay. An anvil? And it's a pen as well. And I think you can even add the Alfonso Davis handball in the first half. But certainly on the homers and rose, I think he got Homer's right and rose wrong. So maybe OTT but this is what happened after the game and this is what you were there on for those who don't know. Jan has the privilege because he's got he's platinum cheer. He's big. He gets to go and speak to Holland in Bellingham and these guys after games. And Jew Bellingham came out and he referenced the fact that this referee Felix fire had been banned for 6 months or a match fixing. Now this was many years ago in 2005. I think obviously Bellingham wasn't following German football at the time. It was hardly born. I had told them this. We're going to get into the details of this. It was a lower division game. He was banned for 6 months. He was a young referee at the time. It's a famous Robert heuser case. Well, you can get into all that later. But yeah, just about just tell us about when you're talking to these people after the game. Bellingham is old enough, even he's a professional. He knows, I'd like to imagine the minute those words come out of his mouth. He said, like, all right, not a smart thing to say. Yes, the thing is gap is that when you're standing in the pitch shot, you're not sure which kind of players you get. And the players then go into the dressing room. And you can imagine, you lost three, two, there is a lot of frustration around the situations. So rosa, who's been sent in the stance, a red card, and you know, there are so many leaders that are killed, there are bad skis. They're all the people. So I think they were on a mission. They went in and then they sent people out. They sent out Bellingham. They sent out harland. They sent out John arose. And they're more or less said the same. And I think that Bellingham was very honest. I think that Bellingham, I mean, Weiss are not twice. That is one other discussion. But I think that what we're talking about in the dressing room. And so he just kind of took out the atmosphere of what they were saying, I don't think they were thinking about that before the game, but that was attacked the Dortmund. And I can't see that isolated. I think that is a lot of frustration getting out of Dortmund. There have been annoyed about buying. They feel a buy in on blah, blah, blah, you know how it is like.

"Were dreadful against chelsea on the first on the fest game. Season point. A west ham. I think based on west ham's fullness as in and actually the full at the beginning of this season as well i don't think was a dreadful results either. I'm getting there. I one of the season against the site that was talking to the table. Clean sheet yes. Buzz went down. ten men. bay was quite feisty. Before that. And i think they held wrong. They weren't really. They didn't really seem to be under the cost. That much. the tongue thing with saja he knows he gets fouled by less take one of the premises previously most fouled players has a house kind of were like a badge ivana. You never really saw him. As far as i can remember you never really saw has to go after place. He found him afterwards. It was kind of like well. Yeah of course he did. He very much gave the energy. I mean he kind of has energy. Anyway disney huddle all these a little bit aloof like wolf. Just doesn't have he wants to smoke. I one day every time he got fouled. They like i'm trying to say is i'm from word in this so badly mono i know. I know i won't will. I want to be the best player. He can be bay. And i think he gives his reactions to the way he's treated. I think gives defended too much joy. And they know they ram. That's why it keeps going to notes with so strange. Not strange watching. Stranger ascetics watching this game and i thought i thought the offense. I thought it's like a common across the night sky. Ryan is trailing rooks dustin like stellar material everywhere dot spor zohar. Zohar is like a rooney type thing in terms of look look at rooney against newcastle without volley. Right he screaming. The referee. freekick doesn't get the bulldog smack in the corner and it's like what's the easiest a tasmanian devil. That's what rain rooney is like these players. There are certain plays who that is they are. And i couldn't help but think it's funny. You mentioned that i saw saw on. He was he was out last tango school. That like penalty really. Cooley scored the penalty. And i think his whole thing his whole rage his whole energy dots like his thing is his essence. The other thing i think is what about It's interesting. I think he's one of those players that is just funny. I think he's a homebody when raise raise went to other clubs and he did a riot yet she so capable race at severe. There's an element of like keenum. Betty's he's basically a kind of english joaquin was like exactly just took a gentleman. Brief glop acting came up. I generally think he's one of those players that is just a homebody and the best saw hallway ever gonna see is a palace. I just think he's like that. You just get those people ryan. Jiang et totally. I'm like no. I know what you're saying. It wasn't a criticism of zohar Tool because i really like it was just more like you can tell by the treatment that he gets from people just like you bother them a law. I think that that was almost this. The tango thing was interesting so that competition thoughts even though he was the one with the rage as well as like but he's in control. I saw tun ganga's on your non control of this because saw both dishes trying to kind of almost like overwhelm you. It's so weird. The psychology of taking place on his. It's the whole context of like passive mental integration like sledging cricket. I think it was in there. Yeah i think it was another tank. I think he had. He kept him a level. So this is like this is like amateur psychology. But i saw something wounded about well. If i'm not saying that like i'm not doing the kind of like the the talk radio will ever kind of like a mentality thing no no. I'm just saying that. I do wonder because will shows up like say she may be his kind of like a not every like mc c. has to be magro some. Let's just a little bit more in conflict blah blah blah. But then some people's if the ones who are managua took the aggression outfit they wouldn't be half the embassy they were. Yeah exactly sometimes so. It's like delivering this the deliberate. So maybe she wills. Delivery is is what makes him. It was more of a question as opposed to criticism. "Made them all got her hundred goals for arsenal last week. Now i know obviously the main kind of newsy story is old trafford. We'll talk about latin bit because stepping away from the occasion side of it. I think it was actually quite routine money. I mean a four new cost is not unprecedented. For united's i actually want to sell his dog. If i because i think the intensive it's seismic result the season i think this is. I think this is a bigger result. Obviously spurs kind of concede the go one all of that game so far quietly doing a lovely job easing himself into the role new and then they get hit with his three notify. us out. Ola goes came after tongue cod. Yeah i mean not existential. We talk about the first foul on wolf. Can i be honest with you. I reckon it wasn't the foul. Because basically i saw her dozen for speed on the outside and he brings him down the may square up to each other. And i think that had enough i think he was. You can never tell what these things but maybe still quite a bit rattled because that was such an intense set to employers garate like that they were ready. "High right and choose what I'm gonna do with my body, My body. My choice, the same argument used by pro choice activists adopted by anti vaccine mandate protesters in Pula. I think it should be choice I'm vaccinated. My daughter is not, And I think it should be her choice whether she would like to be vaccinated or not. They are against the governor's vaccine mandate for all healthcare workers. The large crowd gathered at an intersection drawn there by a conservative Christian group on Facebook, the same group that promoted stop the steal protests in Olympia back in January, which coincided with the insurrection at the US Capitol 2.5 hours north in Bellingham, another group protested outside of a hospital over the same vaccine mandate issue. Cairo radios Nicole Jennings reports from Peace Health Saint Joseph Medical Center. The States mandate health workers have until mid October to get the vaccine or say goodbye to their jobs. Bellingham protester Frank says the mandate violates those workers rights and that it's an especially bad idea during a health workers shortage. We need doctors and nurses. We don't eat less of them, especially to be fired. You're taking something they choose not to do that's truly insane. Peace health says the vaccines have proven themselves to be safe and effective and that it's imperative for their caregivers who are medically able to get the

Coronavirus infection rates continue to rise in the U.S.
"I would like to start by introducing you to nikki. tomlinson nikki. Tomlinson is an icu. Nurse at great plains health which is in north platte nebraska. At one point in time we had a physician here that everybody knew really well known him for a long time. Then a family doctor for a long time. That was my lowest point I still get teary thinking about it That i've been a nursing for twenty years and that was actually my breaking point. I when he didn't make it i had to. I already had some time off scheduled in that couldn't come at a better time I couldn't get through the next day of work without breaking down for an hour Our every hour was that was probably my darkest time at work. My darkest time over and my last twenty years of nursing so that was a. I was hard and then seeing some other family and friends come in That have fought this. That have beat this. That are scared along the way and other patients. That just aren't making it. I've never seen anything like cova. There's i we don't we just don't know enough about it. We learn new things every day and it seems like things change every day and i it. Just that's the one thing. That's constant about covid fluctuate senate changes and we just learn new things all the time. And that's what makes it scary. I've been a nurse for twenty years. And i've never experienced out like this. It's we're working. Extra shifts were working. We do great as a team but the the stress the emotional stress the physical stress that it is putting on us being there for the patients. Which is what we got into nursing. Four we're the only ones that can be there for some of these patients that most emotional stress losing them. is just. I've never experienced anything like it before. So the emotional and the physical stress. It's exhausting absolutely exhausting. I don't know how we are getting through it. We are but. I don't know how what i'm thankful for right now. During all this time is my health. My fellow coworkers health and my family know my family understanding how many how i have to work the long hours and not always be home during all of this And adapting to a can't touch mommy when you get home or to run and take a shower and And their health. I just hope it continues. But she's thankful for is her own health and the fact that her family doesn't have this. The family hasn't gotten it and she hopes that continues. That's what she's thankful for. Last night. i talked here about my own experience being home in quarantine. I tested negative. But i've been taking care of my partner. Susan while she sick i just wanna say to. Everybody reached out and was so nice. Response it was overwhelming. Actually was really kind. It was had to pick a word. I would say it was boolean to me and susan. So thank you everybody. But you know susan i will be are going to be okay. We are coming out of this. She is coming out of that. She is going to recover the people who i'm really worried about. I'm thinking about even as we're going through our own experiences beyond everybody who's sick and suffering right now. Susan has been these past couple of weeks beyond the eighty thousand plus americans who are in the hospital right now with kovic. The most we've ever had mean beyond the people who are suffering directly themselves trying to fight for their lives with this thing that people are really worried about the healthcare workers who are all over the country right now. We're staring down both barrels of this without the kind of support that they had in the spring when this all started with this now just tidal wave of cases and hospitalizations and deaths all coming down on them directly and personally in a way that does not feel sustainable in terms of them being able to keep doing it and terms of keeping them back stop keeping them supplied keeping them at work keeping the american health system open and able to function so frankly not to be too blunt about it but so save abol people can be saved. That's what i'm worried about. Is our health workers right now in the strain on them this many months into it with things. This bad right now i mean. Here's the front page. Today of the atlanta journal constitution. And you see the mix there right. I mean politically. Of course the big news out of georgia is that georgia. This is this morning's papers. They finish their recount. Yesterday showed once again. That biden clearly won the stage that set the stage. Today for georgia formerly certify its results and of course that's significant news. We'll talk more about that later tonight but but look at. What else is sharing the front page with that. Huge political news right see. Stay home for the holiday. Georgia state health official. Ads rethink traditional thanksgiving below that. There's the biggest front page headline in atlanta. Today it makes me shake with anger. That's a quote from a doctor who works in a covert war in atlanta talking about people blowing off the risk as the number skyrocket and as the hospitals get overwhelmed. You see their healthcare workers on the front lines feel. They are fighting a losing battle as public floats safety rules. That's georgia today. It's the same song up in minnesota. Today this is the west central tribune in willmar minnesota front page headline today. A plea for help. Hospitals are perilously close to running out of workers. It's one thing to run out of beds beds can be found in moved and bought but enough healthcare staff to take care of patients who are in those beds. That is what we are running out of in rural minnesota and all over the country. Here's the first column in that same paper today. Case rates skyrocket in the region again. That's west central minnesota. Here's the front page of the news star in monroe louisiana blunt headline hospitals overwhelmed. Here's the front page in grand junction colorado. Today the daily sentinel county says. Icu beds are full. Here's the front. Page in muncie indiana. Today the star. Press in muncie. Indiana hospitals cove in nineteen rates. Sores in indiana go to wyoming. The casper star tribune today casper wyoming deaths rise by record number. Something has got to turn this around kentucky. Here's the lexington kentucky paper. The herald leader kentucky sets staggeringly high new record for coronavirus cases. Go to new mexico the albuquerque journal today cova cases explode up in washington state bellingham herald. State virus rate's the worst since the beginning of pandemic all over the country right and as as overwhelming as this crisis is may now tonight. We've just learned that. The president's eldest son and namesake. Donald trump junior has it as well he has tested. Positive is reportedly isolating hope that he doesn't get symptoms so far apparently doesn't god blessed and maybe the president's eldest son who has such a high profile in the republican party now and in conservative media. Now maybe that will have an impact on thinking about this thing at the white house and in the conservative media on the right maybe even if the president himself getting it didn't seem to light a fire under them. I don't know but as overwhelming as this crisis is we are avoidably at this moment in history where we have two huge totally unprecedented crises. Heading simultaneously the minneapolis star tribune. Today i was actually a pretty good snapshot of what the heck we as americans are supposed to do with the twin disasters. We've got all at once and look at the front page at the minneapolis star tribune today a raging forest fire virus sweeps minnesota state to get ambulances from fema for surge importantly those are staffed ambulances so ambulance with their crews from fema going into minnesota to help them deal with patients and the need to move patients in hospitals. "But I started jet test. Kind of as a hobby while I was at allegiant early on even when I was based in Vegas. The idea and what does it do? Well so I first and foremost at the time jet test didn't exist. I just blind the line flying de Moines and flying to Bellingham Washington and Fargo and might not you know in the MD eighty and I was flying with this is what I was photos the beginning I was flying with the captain and he said you know we hit it off and he said Hey this weekend I'm burying a D. So he was like a like a freelance. Highlight. For Higher. He just went in and jobs and I had no idea that existed and so it was an opportunity for me someone that just loves to travel I had never really had the experience of flying internationally besides Mexico and Canada and stuff. So of course, I jumped on that opportunity and I I still remember that whole trip like like it happened yesterday because it was my first time flying across the ocean. Sure. It was show. You. How long were you gone from the time started to the time you returned home. I think it was probably done about three or four days. So we got over there, and then of course, we hung out that we hung out for a day. You know nowadays we get well forget it. I, mean cove it makes it impossible to even leave the airport for the most part, but that's another story. But you know at the time. Even, we're so busy we we generally move from trip, but at that point in time, I had never been to Eastern Europe and I had gone wants to Ireland and wants to Germany as you know as a as a team but. Anyway. It was it was awesome. We walked around drink beer and had good food at the restaurants and and it was just it was just such a cool experience that the first thing that I did when I got back with say what's next? When can I do this again? And it turned into, you know I was I was I made myself available and I was ferrying airplanes mostly DC nine, some dash eight, some MD eighties because that was all I was typed on. And I was doing a trip every couple of months and whether it was domestic ferry you know or flying over to Asia. Started kind of doing the same thing as him and. What happened from there is you know I started getting type ratings I just I wanted to do it more and I wanted to make myself available on more more equipment. So the first thing I did was I went out and bought a seven thirty seven type. Crossed when you did it. I think it cost about eight nine thousand bucks. Yeah. It's really almost about the same as it costs today but you know I did it in an old seven, thirty, seven, two, hundred simulator which you can't find nowadays right And then and then I flew right seat on a lot of ferry flights until I got the experience and the confidence to to

I love roadside attractions, publicity stunts from fifty of your. What are few of those that come to mind because I just think they're so funky. The giant oranges that used to be Oliver California and there's a couple of them left and they were they to be drink stands for you know when you were thirsty on the road, you get fresh California orange juice right and they're still a couple of them left along old either farm. There's farm country all the way along the way absolutely all three states. So we're going sixteen hundred miles and apparently it's the old isn't isn't like the highway ninety nine is of it is yeah and in California highway. Ninety nine mostly is still intact and it's even a freeway in some places, but once you get into Oregon and Washington because of the mountains, it starts getting a little bit tricky kind of pick. Cherry pick sections of the old road and then connect with I five. Yes. It's just like route sixty six how it's kind of been swallowed up by interstate in places like five is it's sort of the enemy on the other hand. It's practical because he gets you from A to B in a hurry. Yeah. What's your philosophy you're gonna go from going basically from San Diego to Bellingham Right What's your philosophy on the balance between I five in the old roads I think you wanna use I five when you WanNa, make good time and take the old rose if you wanna have a good time. That's kind of how I look at it good time or have a good time. That's good. So let's talk about California first of all New Mexico on one side of the border and collection collects. It collects co is on the or is on the California side and Mexico on the Mexico side. So that's where a route starts are these kind of sister towns in away or are unfortunately there's a big old wall separate him so you Or now you have to go through the big international the big national checkpoint because I did that between San Diego and Tijuana was easy just walk across I think right now that's not the same as it used to be, but it may be again I mean who who knows what we're starting in Calexico then What's the flavor of collects goes? That's just a springboard or anything to do there. It's a sleepy small town and but it's kind of you kind of get the flavor of where you're starting and you're going to start out in the low desert. You're below sea level here that's below civil come into palm springs. A waste. It is palm springs to us. Palm Springs is is kind of Wacky. It got big in the nineteen fifties. So there's a lot of great mid century architecture there, but it's very glamorous. It's very glitzy. There's a lot of designers their fashion show was movie stars that doesn't retirement communities to. snowbirds it's kind of this weird mix of college spring breakers and snowbirds. Okay. So you put that in your checklist and then some I know in your book, you talk about a lot of worthy detours you know in one of your favorites would be Joshua Tree National Park. Yes. Joshua tree is stunning and Joshua tree trees actually the high desert. So it's above palm springs at altitude. So it has a completely different desert climate different plants, different animals. So Joshua Tree is one of these cartoon book yeah. Of Justice Joshua Tree is these classic kind of quintessential cactus Yes. Yes. So what do you do in Joshua Tree National Park Jessica cactus there's a great hikes. There's actually only those cactus in one small part of the park is an enormous park. So there's different bombs great rock formations they are beautiful scenery and

Why We Need International Students
"And. We've been planning to do an episode on national students visas and the education system for the past few months. It seems like an underreported topic that people should know more about, but then it became part of the news. Students. Who the schools plan to online only classes in the fall, we'll have to transfer or leave the country or face possible deportation several prestigious American universities are now suing the trump administration the trump administration back down but I don't think it's the end for what we might save from this administration. You could be forgiven for thinking that student visas classic partisan issue in American politics liberals pushing for cultural diversity in a more open society while conservatives warn of dangerous to national security American jobs. But the real story is quite different for decades Republicans and Democrats agreed that a steady pipeline of the world's best minds into American. Universities is essential for our economy innovation and competitive advantage. But the rest of the world it was a system that largely worked. The trump administration has taken a different perspective and the pipeline of international students in into American businesses, hospitals and research facilities has begun to constrict as this happens other nations have begun picking up the slack. I'm Gabrielle Sierra and this is why it matters today international students and American competitiveness under threat. All right. So I'm a student in another country. Why do I want to come to school in the United States? I mean if you look at the list of the world's one, hundred best universities more than half of those are in the United States you know if you come here and you graduate with a degree from top American University, that's worth a tremendous amount throughout your life. My name is Edward Alden. I'm a senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations I'm also the Ross distinguished visiting professor at western Washington University in Bellingham Washington. All is a leading voice on immigration innovation and US competitiveness. He spends a lot of time studying the contributions of immigrants to the US economy. secondarily, even if you're not coming to the best institutions in the United, states has a global reputation as a dynamic innovative place, and if you were a talented ambitious foreign students, it's a place you wanna be mean finally education is in English and English remains the universal language of business. So. To the extent that you come out from an American education with a strong grass with the English language. That's something also going to be very helpful in your life. There are liberal arts colleges, their research institutions, institutions, large and small that can cater to many different types of learning and covering many different styles. My name is extra Brenner. Director and CEO OF NAFTA THE ASSOCIATION OF INTERNATIONAL EDUCATORS So, bright soon around the world know they can come here and get a great education, and perhaps the most exciting things is the dynamism of the American classroom. That is very rare that idea of having an interactive classroom where students and professors are talking to each other where the learning is shared it's not just the professor lecturing I'll tell you as someone who is a former professor I, love that environment and indeed it something where we even put out a publication on introduction to the American classroom to help students get used to the idea that they will have to defend their ideas. Okay. so you decide you want to come to school in the US how does the system actually work? What are the options for getting a visa? Well you need to be admitted to the university that you wish to attend. So that's the same thing in American student would face. You have to apply to the university and right your admissions essay all the things that American students do when they want to attend a university. So if you are admitted than you need to apply for what's called an F. One student visa, the visa does not allow you to remain in the United States permanently does not allow you to work for income with some exceptions while you're in the United States temporary visa that permits you to come here and study. Alongside the F one, there are also J. One visas and a few other lesser known options together they account for roughly one point, one, million foreign students in the US for anyone who's done it or help someone do it? You know that apply to college is not easy even with some assistance from family or a guidance counselor. For an international student, it also means traveling to an embassy or consulate in their home country and going through a meticulous and costly process to get a visa. And, it isn't as though they get to breathe a sigh of relief once they're accepted or even after they arrive. For many students may be their first time out of their home country. Maybe their family has all saved up their money to send the bright child to the US that's a big commitment by the child in the family when they get to the United States, their institutions, of course, comply with the law and some people may not realize but every international student is actually in effect tracked by institution and there is an official. At each institution that has to know where that student is and be able to file documentation on them. So unlike any other visitor to the United States business travelers only international students are actually recorded and tracked with that level of detail. So the student has a lot of obligations a lot of costs and their institutions have additional obligations as well. It's a big commitment of very big commitment, but it's a life changing
