Fresh update on "bellinger" discussed on The Sports Comedy Show

"God give these guys a day of rest so they can get their pitching back in order please they will there will be game 3 will be tonight. This is a going to be a big game. Keep in mind seven-game series and I said this before hopefully you've heard it from me before games three and five are often very big in seven-game series because those are the pivotal games whoever wins tonight takes the lead and then gain fire. That's usually the Storyteller whoever wins game five. Many times wins the sins not all the time many times. Anyway, we gotta being three coming up tonight. Very exciting to see it. Let's take a look and see what's going on with the pitching. So the raised believe it or not are looking I like their chances tonight because their Bullpen is their starting rotation of home. They're going with Charlie Morton Charlie what we have a huge game against the Astros and getting 70 modem down. He's well rested ready to go. However, the Dodgers are going with Walker Buehler. He is the race. So this will be very interesting to see who can pull out another smash again game three pivotal game. You're going to get all the the big names on both sides of the coin. You're going to see Mookie Betts. Can you get on base? Can you still basis Brandon little can he come back after a two home runs off? Do it again. Let's keep in mind Manuel Margot. He's going to make things happen. And then the big noise on the race side has been Randy. So they're off he's at the setting. He's he's our second batter now and the arrays Audrina. So who knows what happens with him? He has been there all star throughout the series and throughout all the Black Ops on the other side. Justin Turner has finally come up and got some big hits for the Dodgers who I think he's you're going to need to see some of him. And then what about Cody Bellinger now Cody wage is another homerun. Well, then we're going to have to do the mods or not. The Monster Math we're going to have to do the hokey pokey. Like we did on our last episode because you know, he can't hire five people. He's gotta put his right foot injury and the right foot out and then he turns it all about we're not going to play the Hokey Pokey. But if he hits another homerun, then we'll play the Hokey Pokey anywhere very excited to see game three congratulate birth. Is to the Rays on going to one last thing on the baseball if you really the website right now, I like I mentioned I set the homepage to the baseball. So please shut it out because before and after each game, I'm putting highlights, you know, some of the funny moments and stuff. They're on them capturing with pictures. I'll put a little sing and plus all black. Everything says the playoffs started. If you scroll down to the bottom of the page, you can go all the way back to that first mini-series and catch the highlights lot of good stuff on the website birth cited for baseball. That's really the only other thing going right now in sports. So we're going to go ahead and turn to the NFL because that is our thing. This is week 7 a.m. So we're going to take a look at football last night which Thursday and we did have an NFL game. How cool was that? Did everybody watch it? Hopefully you were watching football game. I'm not that debate where they were, you know, clobbering each other back and forth and going nowhere quick. But anyway, what are we had a good one here? We have a lot of broken. You want to call it a Game feature the NFC east in you've heard me talk about the NFC east and then if you watch the game, but her the announcers talking about the NRC East and quite frankly. The NFC East is becoming a story of the NFL and the sports comedy show because the elite the East Genesee East that division is atrocious. It's it's despicable. Yes despicable. There's just not a good team in there. I feel bad for teams like Philadelphia and the Giants but they've got other teams that are just as bad like the Redskins everybody thought would be easy cake walk for the Cowboys, but you see the Cowboys they lost their quarterback and it turns out they're they're coaching staff isn't so great after all Port Jerry Jones. He starts the game with a dog. Four people within the box and by half-time they were all gone and just Jared sitting there alone with him and his Mouse but let's stay focused on the game here Giants come into Philadelphia both with one went under the belt. Whoever gets the second win would be tied for first place and whoever doesn't get the winners only one game out. How comical is that Giants their quarterback Daniel's birthday had a big plant again here some sports comedy that I just love talking about and this is Daniel Jones has you know, he's running he's quick. He's a good runner and they don't really have anything else going for them at this time on the offense. So he breaks One open and he takes it for a run and lo and behold when he does this there is nobody believes. He's got open field all the way down here in this turns into a long run. He's running Thirty forty fifty yards and nobody behind front of him to the dog. One he just might go all know. He stumbles. He does not go all the way. He stumbles loses his footing tripped off around the 10-yard line. Oh, that was comedy. I'm sure you saw it. I just had to relive the play-by-play cuz he just might go maybe not go all the way Daniel Daniel Jones Jones incredible long run didn't get to the end zone. However, the Giants did that was a big one that brought them back into the game, but it wasn't to be off cuz in the end it was the Eagles 2221. They came back with the Lake Drive. And Carson Wentz does pull out the victory. Thank God because the Monday morning quarterbacks would just nail that boy to the to the cross and crucified him. If he didn't win this one turns out he had a big numbers 359 yards to TV box. I'm not sure how it got three hundred fifty nine yards cuz this game was really boring as as boring as this division. Yes, a lot of punts very few big plays off, but nonetheless the Eagles win. So they are now too far and one can call earlier in the year. They tied I believe it was Cincinnati. I hate ties in the NFL. I wish they would not happen because they come into play at the end of the year when you have a tire that just makes a just screws up everything when it comes to the tiebreaker for the for the playoffs any rate billing zip 2221. They are now in first place or tied 4-4 know them first place because of the time that just illustrates my point. Thank God. I don't have a tie on I'd have to loosen up after all this time. Okay, let's take a look at this weekend and look at some of the games that going on and preview another thing. Before we're done here. I will be giving my five star pit remember now last week's five start printing to test that one. I took the Denver Broncos like them with all those points going into New England Well turns out they didn't even need the points. They worked the Patriots handedly and.

No knocking Bellinger's homer celebration in World Series

"Rod Cody bellinger hit what amounted to be the game winning homer during game seven of the. And probably separated his shoulder. Later, when he was celebrating with his team manager Dave Roberts conceded bellinger's not one hundred percent. He could have issue swinging the bat with that bump shoulders. Here's the question is if foul or fair to say, the dodgers will be better off sent him bellinger to the bench during the series. That's foul to that is a foul. I mean, this guy's a game changer I mean the plays that he makes them the outfield and he's already ran into a couple of them in the playoffs they ran into a big wouldn't just the other day you gotTa have been there. My only question is what's wrong. With Enrica, Hernandez the guy that gave him at four on they need to sit him down. He's letting too many ways McCoy, balance your. Line of the dodgers as talented. But this was rookie of the year and you also was an MVP and another thing speaking from a professional standpoint as the hitting coach when you have a guy that has an injury like that to the shoulder he kind of slows everything down swing blue shorter he gets off tonight in my opinion he's up something special in their series that would be corey bellinger.

"bellinger" Discussed on Afternoons with Marcellus & Kelvin

"Pretty power in. Reluctant. Yeah so he called it there. Again. So he saved the day. How we're was? What were thinking right there L Z as that ball was in the air. First of all. Let's acknowledge the fact that this was one of the best games best gains, not baseball game not tennis match not not football best gains of the year regardless of sport. Yeah. Terms of drama and turns a stars showing up in big waves and terms of hair pulling out moments and most importantly for those of us in La outcome dodgers steal one. And we can't forget that part of it. That's important because you know what? He's lost Dachau's laws. They lost these close games like yesterday we won. So that's important. As? Far as belly. And that play. When you heard a sound off the bat. The first thing I thought was oh. Yeah. Oh Yeah. SCHMO. Yeah. Right. Right right. But the thing that I think oftentimes gets overlooked when it comes to cody bellinger in particular. His speed. His athleticism and his defense. and. We get enamored with the offense of numbers because they're easy to quantify, and you can see them in his new. But what he did last night is what he did year before or two years before we went NLC s? MVP. which is demonstrate that he can't just do it. On offense of long to be considered a great player, you gotta be able to do it defensively and he's had some remarkable catches in the postseason is short history of dodger and last night might have been as best man because the circumstances I was incredible. It was absolutely incredible and I couldn't be more happier for him but as I said before I couldn't be more happy for dodger fans. Because in five years no one's GonNa remember that this was an opportunity that could have been lost wouldn't go remember we got the chip baby got the chip right? Right. That's all that matters. But that's one of those moments you can look back at it and say who that could have changed a lot of things that thing gone over the fence and him not stabbed that the way he did. So that's the good. Obviously the bad which is why we want to hear from the audience we only have a couple of minutes here in this segment at eight seven, seven, seven spn is what the hell do we do with the closer situation. Look we talked about a little bit during purgatory I. Think at this point, you have to look at this and be objective and say to yourself not that you're getting rid of. Kenley. Altogether, there may be some moments where you can gain confidence down the road but at least right now L. Z. I it's just not pretty and you gotta be able to move forward with someone else that you're more confident. Man It's going to be complicated because. If you related to so many other sports. Where a guy couldn't get it done and was yanked and they get an opportunity to get it done and they come through. A feel good moment. Yeah, and so I'm not GonNa say that can leads done. But I don't think he's going to be a regular closer. Yeah. I don't even more in his career. I don't think he can be might get another opportunity to close as postseason. Yeah I think you gotta give him like a confidence thing like a three run lead and see how that goes. You know what I mean like just something where it's like it's not like a super pressure situation with is going to be like that in my sippy somebody can't go and we need you can me and he's GonNa come through like we've seen it so many times before where guys. You know we're either demoted or injured or just simply weren't able to you. You know. Do, what they used to be able to do to get warmer crack at it, and they come through for us and I still believe in Kenley. Let me go to Dave in Burbank Dave. What are you got? What's up. Hey. Thanks for taking my call real quick. I got two quick ticks number one. The padres completely remind me of the clippers you know they're undisciplined.

Fueled by Cody Bellinger, Dodgers-Padres brings down (empty) house

"Dodgers go up to the PADRES. They got a big play from cody bellinger and this one is he robbed Fernanda tease junior of a homer in the seventh. It was a one game at that point manager Dave Roberts appreciative of the reigning NL MVP players make great place on you know in big moments and cody did just that and they went up six three, and then they had to hold on from there for six five victory Kenley Jansen having some trouble in the Ninth Joe Kelley came on he had to work out of trouble nail down the save padres had the bases loaded with Eric Hosmer at the plate before Kelly, was able to. End It, Clayton Kershaw watching from the dugout was confident over doubt? No no never doubt re we had it in our hands. That's how that's how Joe Kelley roles you know Joe Likes to make it interesting for us and we'll see what they do moving forward. Robert said say off to take a look at his closer's role and who they're going to use the rest of the way, and by the way the Machado thing barking at the dodgers was after the Bellenger play because I guess he didn't they didn't like the way some of the dodgers came out to celebrate the catch. So they were actually John at each other at the end of the seventh inning or the top of the seven. The, padres were calling out the dodgers for the way that they celebrate Bruce Dr Gras. I, guess when a little too far celebration I haven't seen the video of sounds like a pharmaceutical. I did see ballinger and bets coming off the field obviously they were out to congratulate Bellenger it's a great catch and then all of a sudden you see the dodgers looking over and Machado's got his bat in his hand and he's barking at them and I guess tat tease junior said something as well, and they're just shouting back But the padres have celebrated the entire year.

"Questions going on keys dodgers keep winning the Lakers as you expect, keep winning the rams. Winning I mean, it's fine. We also to a degree we claim the raiders La as well. They're not winning. So because you have told me a fan of Sir needs age even though they have been gone for decades opposite in Los Angeles. Las Vegas so crazy about La is in terms of the the popularity. The Lakers, the dodgers USC. You start getting into the pro sports, the raiders or could fall into that. Third Category believe it or not? Because they were in L. A. L. A.'S PROXIMITY TO OAKLAND VEGAS. That's all you know people grew up there but the raiders they and you know who else is big up there. Boys. Everywhere. How about Golden? State. No not. In La. For the younger, you claim them both teams in La Bat. You probably would still say, yeah. But options we're I mean, that's just. California state saying a lot of teams in California. Don't really mess with southern. California. They. Don't really mess with Northern California to they really. Do we come together to jail separate today's point it could be a great great deal here for so cal because as you mentioned the dodgers here now on the brink of moving onto the with their win very chippy win over the San Diego padres and it would be great for baseball if those. Two So cal teams could form some sort of connection. I know dodgers fans always think the giants the rival, but padres back in the place for the first time in fourteen years be great added. Manny Machado some star power down there. Lakers tomorrow and the rams are taking on the Washington football team, which is a total mess who might not be too. For to Jacob Three for three when you throw in the rams, let's talk about the operative number three dodgers ready to go game three could advance today move on. There are three to one favorite to win the World Series Steal Jay's gambling thunder the shortest odds from Caesar's William Hill I know you've had a lot of heartbreak a dodger fan a lot. Of heartbreaker just got chills him abutting when you sit that honestly right now it's a very early sample size. Nobody's looked better than the dodgers brave fans could say we looked okay. But right now the dodgers looked terrific. It's a lot of experience they've been in this position before right? I mean they've won the division eight straight times they've been in this. The World Series, the last couple years I mean when you when you think about the dodgers, you look at the roster, you can. I can bat it all the way around from Seger to Turner to to to Muncie to to bellinger to Kershaw I. Mean you can go all the way around it stacked the the the the Keel for us us in a problem for us is our closer in Kenley Jansen what what is wrong with him like the ninety five mile an hour cutters, fastballs, and no longer I mean it was very evident. Last night he threw about seven fastballs in about twenty three cutters that dropped down into the low eighties, early nineties, and that's not. Who when I say early nineties I'm talking about ninety, one, Ninety, eight, eighty, nine not getting. That's not I can hit that. So when you look at it, it took Joe Kelley. Who scared me to death when he walked to and finally got the third out. To. Come in and kind of bill us out now kershaw six innings pitched. He gave up to to back to back homers and I believe this is his. I WanNa say it's either his third or fourth time in the playoffs in his career given back-back. Jackson. because. He's the best lefty of his generation but something happens when the calendar flicks flip stock Tober no, it doesn't worry me at all because when he's given their Solo Jacks, they're not. It's not like he's given up two and three run jacks are home runs. If just in case you're wondering No not you people I'm saying. I. It doesn't worry me about that because I've seen him when you county Mao I've seen him get the ball in do something totally different. You go back to two years ago on short rest he came in he was dealing and short rest for a couple innings. Got Us out of here and so when you look at that I, don't really worry about him as much as I do our clothes. Are, closed situation is interesting to skipper and Dave Roberts has not made up his mind Jay on what he wants to do with the closer moving forward. Tonight I love when I hear you talk as a as a fan because every fan has something to worry about right. There's always something like what's going to happen Joe Kelley you know he he was able to walk Manny Machado he walked for entertainment. But look at the end of the day guys. There's always an element of luck that comes into any team winning. Any kind of championship is Lebron James and really making shop on the Corner Michael Jordan Steve Kerr making a shot, it always happens. So to watch, you know all come in last night first at bat is obviously Fernando Totti's junior who knocks it knocks it and cody bellinger goes up to grab it. Those are the type of place that I sit there and I watch as a fan being like. Okay. Here we go. They just seems like things are on the side for the dodgers like there's that element factors into any championship key and you have to be I, know you have questions about certain things with your team, but you have to feel good at where you guys are at right now. No you you feel good. But the biggest question is our relief pitching at the end of there's questions wherever team well, no no. No we're across the board as I started this conversation, I can go around every base in everybody any outfield behind the plate in the bullpen. But when I stop in a bull pin that question that scares everybody whether we have buster only on with us or or Pedro Gomez whoever comes on and you asked him about the dodgers and the pitching in where we're at the first thing they're going gonNA. Point to keenly Janssen because. Can we switch pitching? Then we'll take all your pictures. We'll. Take. That's A tiny massive? Her task understand are you would love to have our pitching and we would love to have more Yara Vera, come walking out of the dugout right now for us to close things up guess what that's not GonNa Happen. So I go happen switching gears here to the Yankees J. to your point. Great. Let's go from a high to low. Yes indeed. The raise taking a two one. Series lead to the seven to win yesterday Michael. Kay. Who is the voice of the Yankees and hosts show on flagship station ESPN ninety eight seven in new..

And I think you're going to enjoy our conversation just as much as I do. I'm here with Jenny. Bellinger had Jenny. Are you in mindfulness mode? Today I'm working on it. I was a little nervous. I have to say because I just just a second ago. Got An email from Jenny and she said Did you send me Your Zoom Lincoln? I'm Kinda shaking. This is a this is a dot com. This is a bad ass. And how did send email? But but it's just kind of funny because I have to tell you that I don't see you as a like a dumb get out of the way bad ass kind of a grasp of a person. The Brewers are working on contract extension with Christian Yelich that could exceed $200 million

"Christian Yelich might be the next superstar in sports to put pen to paper on a massive contract the brewers India which are closing in on what is being reported as a nine year two hundred fifteen million dollar contract now if you're like me when you first hear that nine years and two hundred fifteen million for Christian Yelich who was the MVP two seasons ago any runner up for the most valuable player award last year when he got hurt and missed a month you're probably thinking to fifteen does not seem like enough and I would tend to agree with you about that he is taking a dramatic discount to sign this extension which is basically seven years a hundred ninety million in new money when you just saw it the rain don't who hadn't been in the top two in MVP voting over the last two years in the National League get seven years and two hundred forty five million to go to the angels in free agency when you've seen our unato in Colorado no one or not get a massive two hundred and thirty plus million dollar contract over eight seasons and here we're talking about new money seven and one ninety for a guy who might be the best player in the National League the deal was first reported today by the athletics some of the details of trickled out of come from ESPN's Jeff Passan he's got this basically yellowish would play the next two seasons starting this year on his current contract so he's scheduled to make I was about to say only how funny is that only twelve and a half million in two thousand twenty and then fourteen million next year but you know I laughed at that as far as the production B. provides and and the elite performance is gonna provide Daddy's shopping in the bargain bin that's finding one of your favorite movies in the five dollar DVD been at your favorite electronics store so the extension for that seventy one ninety would basically kick in for the brewers in two thousand twenty two and go through two thousand twenty eight and there be a mutual option in the final year in twenty twenty nine but you go back two seasons ago when Yelich won the M. V. P. he established himself after leaving Miami where he was an excellent hater and a lot of folks felt like maybe he would win a batting title at some point but didn't get a lot of help we did have a lot of production and protection rather to go along with his production there just weren't players around him as good as him to help him out as they were going to getting rid of all their pieces Giancarlo Stanton Marcello's owner he was the last guy standing so we got to go to Milwaukee and give it a try there and immediately flourished completely took off and became one of the greats in the sport and for my money right now this moment Christian Yelich of the brewers is the most underrated player in baseball which might sound ludicrous considering that he wanted MVP award is finished in the top two twice in two years but I still think when we have conversations in this industry about who the best baseball players are Mike trout's name comes out of everyone's mouth first then you get some of the bigger names that maybe don't even belong in that conversation right now based on performance like Bryce Harper Manny Machado those types but who is the second best player in the sport yeah which might be the answer Cody Bellinger won the MVP award with the Dodgers last year is in that vicinity I'd say there's a a four player tier behind trout vying for the number two seed in the sport with the yellow shoes twenty eight Ballenger who's only twenty four just barely starting to think about Mookie Betts becks is now twenty seven went from Boston to LA this offseason in a deal that took forever to consummate and Alex Bregman the twenty five year old villain now with the Astros who is so much better four in the wake of finding out that Houston Bregman has cheated over the last couple of seasons at least dating back to seventeen and some of eighteen that they've admitted to Bregman the MVP of the American League last year in my opinion ended up not finishing right behind trout and I kind of quantify things as non trout division because he should just get the award every year so I kind of say well other than trap who was the MVP this year you're competing against a legend the likes of which is going to go down as maybe the best players ever lived or one of them no one of the mount Rushmore baseball stars essentially and a guy that you'll meet people listening right now we're not gonna see another player like him probably in our

Mike Trout rips cheating Astros, calls for bigger punishment

"Happy Spring Training has been so happy so far. No I was GONNA say being the leadoff hitter is generally a good thing but not if the leadoff hitter for the Astros in two thousand one that might be a little bit dicey so on Monday Mike. Trout spoke in baseball circles. I really feel like it's words that are being carved on tablets might trout use. The Word Cheat. He noted the absurdity of the advantage of knowing what pitch is coming at this Take Note Jim Crane any express frustration over the fact. The Astra's haven't been disciplined. He spoke forcefully as forcefully as he has an N. issue baseball. And if you're the astros in your angry the world right now this might be the moment that forces you to look in the mirror I really feel like when Clayton Kershaw sees about the said something the Astros might dismiss it as well. Those guys are sore losers because we beat them. When cody bellinger said something they might think. Well what are you talking about your strikeout machine? In the two thousand Seventeen World Series Boba shed Gleyber Torres. Come out and said things they might think. Shut up you too young to say anything. One might. Trout says something that has to resonate even with the most defying the Astros. Because not only is a great players you know. He's also incredibly respected within the sport and they know him as a great in accepting person and so i. I sent on twitter this morning. That it's like getting yelled at by your favorite uncle. There's just something to it. What do you think yeah no look? I Applied Mike Trout. You know he's not always a man of many words. That's for sure you know. I'm sure he considered beforehand. What he was going to say he obviously knew these questions or coming to him so he took obviously a very strong stance towards not only the Astros but towards the commissioner so as one of the faces of the game. I absolutely applaud him for coming down. Hard on everything that's happened. So tell me how you think he's. Words would go over with a George Springer and Altoona Bregman Carlos Correa marlins not on the Astros anymore but certainly saw him early this spring address this because I feel like that they would just listen and say nothing. It wouldn't be any complaints among the Astros and Mike. Trout speaks in this way. What do you think yeah? It's a good question. You know for all the apologies. We've now seen the Astros gives since that initial press conference. I still don't know if there's a lot of remorse or regret at least I haven't been down there in West Palm was Houston. But that's the feeling I get from far that they did it. They know they're supposed to apologize. But they're still feeling of. We got away with it. We one where the champs so be it So I don't think that feeling of remorse. Is there now. Is that going to change? Because Mike Trout says he's lost respect for them. Probably not you would hope they. Would you know do a little inner self reflecting and sink a little more about their actions? But I think they're also it's also easy to say. This happened in two thousand seventeen. We don't care moving on and maybe that's what the sport itself does need to do at some point this spring and I feel like that is best for the Astros at this point. Let's face it. They've taken a lot of incoming shots they punch back the other day. I think it's time for them to stop worrying about trying to save what they've already loss. You know watching Carlos Correa over the weekend pushed back a talk about individual situations in the world series when they weren't cheating and I I thought it was absurd. Yes we were cheating in the first inning the second and third inning but in that run-scoring spot in the fence. We weren't cheating you know and to extend my a comparison the astros with someone who cheated in neighborhood poker game. Can you imagine if someone said? Yeah we dealt from the bottom of the deck with firsthand second anther. We played that fourth. Hand straight up like other players. Don't WanNa hear that and I feel like that while Carlos was passionate in trying to absolve Jose altuve and trying to draw lines. It's a waste of time. Their legacies in cement. It's over in terms of the Court of public opinion. No absolutely and we all know. There's only one solution for the Astros and that's to go out and win the World Series in twenty twenty and at least remove the cloud of suspicion for this season. When we're pretty sure they're not gonNA Poll any shenanigans released today extent. They have that is the only way two thousand seventeen as you said that legacy is incident. You know it's always GonNa be be doubt now. They're going to go out and prove that they actually are as good as we think they. They are at least as good as they've been the last three years

"Hairston junior of course former major league player world champion with the Yankees And of course the dodgers address analysts for Spectral Sports Net L. A. Jerry. Welcome to the PODCAST. How you doing very well very well? Yes on in Wednesday afternoon four o'clock eastern time. The big press conference at Dodger Stadium. Yes mookie Betts and David price coming to Los Angeles. I know you got to like train and your thoughts. I'm extremely excited. You know the dodgers the last few years. I've put themselves in position to possibly win a world series. It hasn't happened but I really believe adding guy like Mookie Betts in my opinion five baseball ballplayer all in all the major leagues. Excellent top of the order hitter. You know I think this is. He's kind of like the generations. Ricky Henderson excellent speed is they're gonNA NOT GONNA steal a hundred thirty basis because nobody does that anymore really. Nobody did that with ricky played But he gives you speed at the top power A great outfielder in right field. And you put him in the lineup with next month cody bellinger Justin Turner And so on and so forth this is arguably the best lineup and all of baseball and then add to This dodge rotation healthy David Price. Who Brings in championship type pedigree and I really believe? He's GonNa be pitching with a chip on his shoulder. I'm having something to prove the season so I'm excited for the dodgers and the city of La. Jerry dodgers needed a good right handed bat. That lineup is loaded with lefties. This bets bets is going to help that isn't he. Absolutely you know anytime you get a chance to Have the best players in all of baseball. And you're on your lineup. She'd He'd be in your lineup. It's GONNA help but you're always looking for balance and you know like you mentioned. The dodgers were heavy left handed The last two years with Jock Petersen Jason Cory seager cody bellinger Max money. There's nothing wrong with having left handed power but you WANNA kinda offset that a little bit especially with the emergence of Gavin Luxa the new Start second base going to the dodgers have. He's a left handed batter. So you WanNa make sure you balanced when you're facing writings and left these Throughout the season the playoffs so why not not get arguably the best right handed hitting outfielder outside of my trout in base going. That's looking back and Jerry. You don't look at this as as has some sort of rental you don't make a trade for guy player like Mookie Betts and not be willing to sign this guy who can be a free agent. After next year you fully the expect. The dodgers to ante up and paid has got to be a dodger for a long time. Don't you absolutely I liken this to like an Anthony Davis you you know you. Trade for Anthony Davis get him in the fold let them see. La Let him be Laker and see how great it is to be living in La very similar with mookie Betts. You get him over here here. Let them play in this ballpark. Be a dodger Every day Get accustomed to you know the lifestyle. LA which. Really second to none. Being in the bright lights of Hollywood. I I think he's going to love it here and WanNa sign back and certainly. The dodgers have the resources to sign a guy like me or about so. Hopefully he's comfortable here which I think he will be. And we'll love to play here because everybody played here including myself has a loved. But I'm not putting on that dodger. Blue Guess on inside the park a podcast is of course Jerry Hairston junior former major league player and analyst for the dodgers in their TV broadcasts The other part is MOOKIE BETTS AND PRICE COM from Boston and they're under a cloud of suspicion. They're under investigation for what went down with their ex manager. Now Alex Cora and the dodgers chargers got a bronco event they lost in the world series in two thousand eighteen to the red sox. Where do you make of that? Where Mookie Betts and David Price could possibly be implemented uh implicated and talk about that they took part in what could wind up being yet? Another cheating scandal baseball. Well you know what I've heard it. You know before the the commissioner ruled on the Astros. We'd heard rumblings for a couple of weeks. What was coming down the road and we knew it was pretty pretty bad We know that the commission she's GonNa ruin the red SOx pretty pretty quickly. That's what we're hearing And we've also heard it's not nearly as bad as the Astros so I'm kind of banking on that anytime you play a team in the world series and the Super Bowl or the or the NBA finals. You WanNa make sure both sides are on the up and up. And I'm hoping that was the case with the with the Red Sox I'm hoping Alex Cora bidding implement everything that he has with Houston in Boston but that's yet to be seen But you know now that is the guys like Bats and David Price on the fold You gotta wait and see. I'm hoping they weren't a part of it. Obviously David price being a pitcher. Sure certainly wasn't that part of it because it was on the offensive side of the ball. And I'm hoping mookie wasn't in wasn't a part of that as well so that's got to be seen Bob Open for the good in

Dodgers fear Seager has serious hamstring strain

"But if you're watching the dodgers angels baseball game just a few hours ago. In fact, it was right before we started the freeway series. It's just a two game set and the dodgers. They lost those games both of them to the angels, but bigger picture, they may have lost Cory Seager. So this is this is what happened. It was ninth inning says, watching it live when it happened, it was ninth inning, and he was on second base at this point, the dodgers trailing by a couple of runs and trying to mount a comeback and maybe stunned the. Either win the game or force extra innings and Cory Seager is on second base. And one of his teammates, I think it was Alex, do go Alex, do go bounces of ball up the middle and Seger is about to hit the bag third when he grabs his hamstring. And so it wasn't even as he was rounding the bag. It wasn't a step wrong or a plant wrong. I know he was just about to get to third base. And I don't know whether or not the judges would have sent him it wasn't a hard hit ball by virtue go, but it didn't it didn't go very deep into the outfield either. And so all I shifted to Corey as he gets third base. He goes, a couple of steps passed it, and then is in massive pain, and right away, he signals for the training staff to come out and help him and he walks off the field. He he can't even stay on the bag. He gets replaced by pinch runner. He walks off the field and the dodgers have tentatively. Diagnosed him with what is a grade two plus hamstring strain. Okay. So grey to plus, meaning that it's great to or worse. And the word that I just saw on online is that they fear it could be very serious hamstring injury. This is forget the dodgers. Now the first second anyway, the dodgers are one of the best teams in major league baseball. They're off to a torrid start. And we just talked to Rick Honeycutt their pitching coach about the team about their, their desire to get back, of course, and try to win a World Series after two consecutive losses in the last couple October's and how much fun this team is and how good they are and there's been so much focus on Cody Bellinger. But getting Cory Seager back is also been huge for them member. He missed last year with injury most of last year with injury and now appears as though he has done something to his hamstring. We'll wait to find out, I hate to speculate and I always hoping against hope that I'm completely wrong. Maybe holding out some hope with Kevin Durant, though, that one seems

"Nobre three Minnesota Twins as of Tuesday. They were thirty six and sixteen. They're playing great ball. How about this after cheating, not a single eight home run game in the past fifty five seasons the twins done at once but twice already twenty nineteen and it's before June. Everyone's talking about the offense and rightfully soba, Minnesota's pitching has been surprising. And that's the reason that they've been dominating. So they have more than parets is seven one with a stingy. Two point nine eight ERA the Minnesota Twins for real number two. The Los Angeles Dodgers. I know people think they belong in top spot. Not yet. Cody bellinger. What are you doing leads the National League in war? The dodgers pitching has been off the charts. They just continue to roll. They've been rolled steamroll than everybody at Dodger Stadium. They have an impressive as of Tuesday twenty and six record at that beautiful ballpark in Los Angeles. And everything seems to be pointing that the dodgers are in rude to yet a seven straight National League West division, title, number one, and I tried to warn you early in the season. You didn't believe me, the best team in baseball is still the New York freaking Yankees during this seven game win streak which was snapped on Sunday. The Yankees scored at least six runs in every game and average eight and a half runs and they still don't have all their play. Back the Yankees won almost as many games on the road, this year as they have at home, which is incredible seventeen in eight on the road as of Tuesday. And here's the other one the BT bombers the backups of bidding to equal the Yankees twenty eighteen historic homerun, pace to hitting the ball out of the pork without Stanton without judge this Yankee team bruised. And battered is the best team in baseball, be sure to catch live editions of the odd.

"Welcome back to painting corners, Monday, MS Austin, Hartsfield Dave Kaos cues here with me as always Dave. Have we ever seen a hotter? Start in baseball than what Cody Bellinger had literally. No, he's breaking records left, and right and not getting enough credit as he deserves Christian yelich has also been just as good, but bellinger's just been a little bit better. Yeah. I mean when you're hitting four twenty in yard sitting in a three point seven war for the year. And we just got to me. It's pretty ridiculous. Yeah. He's on pace won't like a fifteen war or some nonsense like that. I mean, he's batting over four hundred. He has hit fourteen home runs for genome. Runs and fourteen runs of thirty eight Rb is already that's the most RBI's ever at the end of April. He's on pace for a trillion. RBI's? I think and Christian yelich has nothing to slip at either as batting around three fifty fourteen home runs as well. So two guys that is Mirroring it looks like Sosa immigrant wire. Honestly, the race the sixty plus here, that's the only thing that I can think of not not even necessarily with the homerun thing. Just with the such high level play is going back and forth at each other. Yeah. Just every night. It seems like balance or hits a home run. And then or goes four for four. And then the next thing you get yellowish hitting three home runs in a game. Yeah. Then you so you can a home run away from Bellinger Bill undertaken. Yup. Yelich just goes on and on and on. Yeah. And they're both playing great defense in Bellinger last year. I didn't think he looked great in the World Series out in the outfield that throw a VN Kimbler. But I felt like that was way too far up the line, and if Kinser was faster than my grandpa than he probably would have made it there. But he's been looking great this year, and he's getting better and better and a little bit of a sophomore slump last year. They talked about sending them down. The AAA at one point. And maybe because he needed it. But gee, worked on all the little things in in the all season this year, and it's paying off completely what they historic start. Yeah. I mean, and you take a look at these two guys. And when you look at outfielders like that in the way that both of them are building code as tall. And I don't want to say lean. But I guess lean is the word. He's yeah. He's definitely not. Yeah. He's not, you know, an eight-pack, you know, at three hundred pounds ripped up, but he's also not one hundred and fifty five pounds and skinny skinny I would say that yellow is more of the skinnier guy that just is a frequent baseball. I think that balance sheet put on some weight, and that's helping a lot. But they're both tall lean guys that are showing that you do not need a body like David Ortiz or Manny Ramirez to hit, you know, tank home runs. Right. And the reason I bring up like their sizes. They both have six stolen bases through one month. I mean, we could problem which is very good. Go down a list of people who. Don't have six Solan basis that look like them and don't look like participate. Crazy. They're literally doing it all at this point. They are being two players at the moment will every single one of them. They are playing the field. They're hitting contact hitting for power. They're stealing basis. They're playing defense. I mean, they are Mike trout and Mukhi bet star to I right now and they're better than both of them right now. Yeah. Without a doubt better than one of them even. Yeah. Yes. Low starts of the year and heating up, but you know, trout, still doing trout things still doing great. But these guys are gonna love right now. And I honestly don't think obviously it's going to cool down bellinger's not gonna hit Andre fifteen months this year, and you know, yellow at and get a hit, you know, eighty five, but they're gonna cool down a little bit. But I still think that they ended up at in well over three hundred the and I think that they ended up with close to fifty homers..

And then and then after we listened to it, you can I'll let you guess which one it was Cody Bellinger. All right. We are here with the twenty seventeen and L rookie of the year. Two time National League champion, Cody Bellinger. How we doing? I'm doing good. How about you guys doing? All right. We're doing it. Right back and forth. He was talking about earlier how he was in Arizona. You're an Amazon right now. Actually, let's start there. Let's start there with with your workout routine because you played in all one hundred sixty two games last season. And then you have a back to back World Series appearances. How do you sort of train your body for a full season of baseball knowing that there's a pretty good chance that you're going to be going deep into October on top of that one sixty two. Yeah. I mean, that's I think when you play it seem like the dodgers you prepare in January that you're gonna play until October every single year, you know, if that you know, we have short off seasons, and you probably take a week or two off. And then you get right back into jam. But I think the biggest thing is thanks legible and obviously getting stronger, but getting to a point where you can maintain it and stay healthy all year round. Well, you know, so you guys you you're talking about training you're talking about how to prepare the body, bro. How do you relax the body? Because when I think a lot of people don't really understand is when you talk about getting ready in January to play through October. Like, you do the math there. There's not much time for downtimes for fucking or an art to chill out. So how do you how do you get away from the game because you're out there in the desert, you're Scottsdale? I love me the desert just left Mesa. But what do you? What do you do to to just Marigny? You know what I'm saying to get away from the game. What have you been doing this Altis? Man. Honestly, I don't do much. I think the thing that I loved to do in the offseason golf. Of course, the same thing. What course out there? No, it's not great. Oh, even better that we could play around because I was gonna I was gonna talk some shit. But now that you're not good now. Now you and I we could play a little playing field. Yeah. I'm probably high nineties two hundred every time he goes like just like fastball jeered. In Dallas is he probably never broke eighty five in the big leagues. So let's just talk about that. Then talk about this. Fastball velocity. I talked to a scout. Who is like these guys that are playing now the hitters at least it's fucked. What they have to deal with when when it when it turns into the sixth inning. It's like all right. Every dude has ninety eight in his back pocket. And obviously you see north of that. "I mean, I guess if they did work, it didn't work. When was it? Buehler? Was it? Who was it? Cody Bellinger. Who was over somebody did work in one. Nothing works one hundred percent of the time, but it works more often. Than it doesn't work. So they do it. Yeah, that that that's how it's going to be. It's going to be a situation where it baseball's going to have games that are played two to one over and over and over again. You're gonna have to. You'd have to sit a rule where you can only have x. amount of guys on one side of the field. Why? Why is it bother you? Because I want to see runs. It's not good look for the game. Okay, but. Okay, so changing the lineup card. Good. Look for the game. What does have to do the other it? Okay. You a baseball guy. Y'all supposedly for the for the grim Lynn's mounting wished hit. The gremlins would've had a team. I would've liked to play for the growth. This baseball, cold, all that sort of stuff. Everybody screams in hollers about that, but then they do this and it seems to be okay to one one is little move to try to win a game. The the the larger conversation is, do we want to watch baseball where no one's on base where no one can score run in less. You hit it over the fence the that's the conversation that needs to take that that'll happen down the road. What happens next is game six in Milwaukee against Wade Miley who's gonna start back to back games and the dodgers are in a great spot. They only need to win want it to. I would suggest very, very strongly. They take care of business tomorrow because you don't want to go into a one game situation with the kid. Pitcher gang seven is not in an ideal situation for the dodgers. They looking to get it over with and game six view be on the mound tomorrow in, like you say, they'll be going up against the pitcher that technically, if you wanna call it back to back, aren't great and game too. I mean, you know, Miley pitched really well in game two in and I'm sure they feel good about impeaching really well and game six. But the problem is our bats are alive now. That's that's believe there are a lot not home run stuff that you want the bats or live singles, stolen bases, advancing runners that's alive to me. It had week they'll do that again tomorrow night. They're going to do exactly what they've been doing in. They didn't change what they went about their approach. They still struck out twelve times in eight innings, twelve times in eight innings. Okay, that's a ton. And it wasn't that they were in their fuck out this same guys that have been striking out the whole time the same guys that struck out seventeen times the night before. What happened was, is Cody to hit a on the few times they did make contact. They happen to land in places where no one's standing. That was the only difference they didn't call them. Hit, but you're change their approach. They didn't change their approach. They went after the exact same way. The result was different, but the approach was exactly the same. How was approached the same a result because there were swing in the bats, the exact swim bat in order to get a hit. You gotta swing the bat. You can't stand up there and hold the bat. This. This is impossible. You're right? Yeah, Travis you and convince me. Yeah. Convince me I'm gonna get a hit by just standing up here. Do you gotta swing the bat, do favor just you don't have to say it for anybody. Listen, just wink. And let me know that you're kidding..
