"He seemed like a fit. Maybe he was hurt or something. I don't know, but yeah, I'd still like to see the mad here, whether it's James Bradbury, whether somebody else who gets cut at the end of camp would have you. I still think they're short here. I would say. Yeah, if there's one position on the roster where they're dying for years, it's been the number one receiver, right? Everybody's like, they got other good pieces, but they need the number one receiver. I think now it's turned to the number one corner. Like if there's one position that they absolutely need a stud to fill out a depth chart, it feels like at quarterback. Again, they got numbers. They got 9 guys on the roster. I think really taking 6 or 7 of those guys can play in the NFL, right? But none of these guys move the needle for you significantly at that spot. You're really, really hoping because Marcus Jones is a nickel. He's a slot. He's not going to play on the outside. That's never going to be his role. You're really, really hoping that Jack Jones is just an absolute stud, right? Like he's a day one. Contributor, we talked to Eric elko a few weeks ago about Jack Jones. He thought that Jack Jones would probably early on in his career being nickel and then move outside eventually in the NFL. The Patriots don't have the luxury to play him in the slot nor do they have the necessity to play him in the slot. They got tremendous depth in the slot between Jonathan Jones, miles Brian, Marcus Jones. They go three, four deep in the slot. It's the outside spot that's the concern. I think you're going to see if this is the group or obviously they're going to weld this down. But assuming that that's the top half of the group, you're going to see to me a lot of we're going to double Stefan digs and whatever Gabriel Davis does to us. He does to us, right? I don't think that you can trust. Any one of these guys on an island with digs or with hill or at any of these players. So this is, I think, in a harken back a little bit more to those Belichick days where it was double the number one out of the game, put your number one corner, your number one corner on their number two guy, and hope that Jalen mills can hold water against Gabriel Davis, right? That's sort of the idea here. And we'll see what ends up happening. What about Sean wade in the John Wayne to me is like almost teetering on Jeff Thomas territory for a lot of patriots fans where like everybody just kind of thinks that this guy could be the potential savior. We'll see..

"Bringing in new talent and having them plug and play those guys into spots where other guys might have left, you know, they passed that torch, so to speak from brewski to mail or from McGinnis and ray bought outside linebacker to the next generation. And Vince kind of mentioned that just from a culture standpoint, it was so easy for them to break in these new players and pass those torches off and keep the train rolling. And I don't think that Bill Belichick and the Patriots organization and Tom Brady get a ton of credit for the football success for the X's and O's is schematics, the Belichick mastery and all those types of things, but Belichick the culture builder. I'm not sure if we talk about that enough, right? Because I think a lot of people who look at his culture and think it's not fun, they channel their lane Johnson and they talk about how it's so militaristic and how they don't get to talk in the media. They don't have to be let them be themselves. I actually think that a lot of players that you talk to and we're lucky enough to be able to talk to guys like Vince wilfork or last year, Richard Seymour, whoever gets inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame always does some sort of media. And I think the culture that they had in that locker room was really second to none. And that was why we used to talk about it like, oh, they'll just draft some guy in the 6th round in the 7th round, and they'll put them in for Taiwan. They won't skip a beat. Well, in reality, they didn't skip a beat in a lot of instances because of that culture. And because of the winning culture and just how easy it was for people to pass that torch and pick things up and kind of just get on the train. And I thought that was really interesting. You also made a very good case for being the best nose tackle to ever play. I mean, I don't think anybody could have made a better case than he made for himself, probably. And that little speech that he gave about playing in different alignments, zero to 5 technique, you know, somebody that didn't just play straight up over the nose or as a one technique in the shade and the a gap all the time. This is somebody at the Patriots did move around the defensive line. They were flexible with him. They did hunt matchups for him in certain situations. He could rush the passer. He could stay on the field and passing situations. I think his all around versatility and ability to play in all three downs might separate him from some of the other true nose tackles like he was talking about. True two gapping nose tackles like a Ted Washington before him, right? On the Patriots or someone like that who was really just there to play on first and second down. Vince was an effective player for multiple alignments on multiple downs and really a true professional in every sense the word no matter where they line them up on the defensive line and a very well deserved honor. It should get into the pro football Hall of Fame and canton here soon as well..

Brian Flores Files Discrimination Lawsuit Against NFL

"Most interesting story of the afternoon was Brian Flores. Late last afternoon on the West Coast. It's early evening on the east coast. I'm starting to do my show prep, and I see Brian Flores, who was head coach of the Miami Dolphins for a couple of years, has just unloaded on the NFL. Alleging discrimination against black coaches. And he shot at the NFL and his complaint, and he hit it, but he really took out Bill Belichick. Because Bill Belichick thought he was texting somebody other than Brian Flores. And he was texting, I think Brian did all telling him. Hey, the fix is in. Don't worry, there's the paraphrase I don't have in front of me. Don't worry, Brian, you've got this job, you're gonna get this job. They told me you've got the job. Good for you. You're gonna do great with a giant Brian Florence was in the about to head off to interview at New York Giants land. He had to go through a charade because of the Rooney rule. The Rooney rule requires that you hire at least one African American. You interview at least one African American for every opening for GM and head coach. I think that's the Rooney rule. Now the browns have actually lived by the Rooney rule. They had Hugh Jackson as their head coach. They got the amazing Andrew Barry, who's maybe the best GM in football, both black men who are great professionals. You didn't do so well. But but you can't pretend. And I think Brian Flores, we've got to payday

Brian Flores says his Giants interview was for show to satisfy 'Rooney Rule'

"Bill Belichick, the coach of the New England Patriots, mistakenly text this guy, Brian Flores, congratulating him on getting the hit coach job for the New York Giants. The problem is, he didn't get the head coach job for the New York giant. There's another guy named Brian. So he takes the wrong guy, and by the way, it was three days before this Brian interviewed for position with the New York Giants. Apparently, complying with the Rooney rule, meaning they'd already decided who they wanted to hire. They already were going to hire another guy named Brian. Brian Belichick didn't Bill Belichick didn't know that. Congratulated this guy for getting the job. Three days before he applied for the job, interviewed for the job, which apparently had already been given to somebody else. Now, in the lawsuit, he says, I'm standing up against systemic racism in the NFL. Says this, the league is rife with systemic racism and it is akin to being run, he says, like a plantation. "I think that Brady wanted Super Bowl title last year in part because of all the things that he learned with Belichick. I'm not saying it's that's the only reason because I still think Tom Brady was going to be great in any event. I just don't think he would be 7 times Super Bowl winner. The way I look at it and like I said, I don't really have a dog in this fight is that when I've always watched the Patriots whether it was 2008 with Matt cassel and yes, they went 11 and 5, they didn't make the playoffs. They didn't really beat anybody good that season. I understand that. You know, I thought that was very successful. Jimmy Garoppolo slash Jacoby Brissette. Yep. Three and one against good teams and I saw, you know, flawless execution and really good play and good game plans and all that. And so I've always been impressed when Brady wasn't there. They've been successful. And I think that Mac Jones, I think, first of all, it's way better than Matt castle. Was. And, you know, I do think I think what you talk about in terms of the overall operation. And I also, you know, without Brady continuing on, you know, I chalk up, you know, 2020 COVID Cam Newton, all that stuff. I can't, I can't say that was representative of anything. I can't. I just. The whole season looks completely different than any other season for a variety of reasons. And you could point to the two and four start this year and say, it's the same thing. And I have certainly, you know, said that about the team in general. But and that goes to your point is that I think it's the team in general. I think it's we all know that the personnel failings that they had like the previous about 5 years in terms of drafting and other decisions. The effect that's had. The coaching staff, the effect that's had. It's obvious when you watch them. They're not the same operation. So I agree with you. I think it's, I think it's hard to say that, you know, Belichick is definitely losing it. There are certainly things that you could say that there is evidence that that is happening. In terms of, look, he's not the same guy anymore. We all know that. You can watch the way he does in training camp and watch when he shows up from Nantucket for that. It's all different. You know, and you could say like Linda as an influence or whatever..

"Right by Bill Belichick. In what I mean by that is always starting to see the evolution of football get ahead of Bill Belichick the head coach. I think you can discuss both of those things and neither are quote unquote too early. The Tom Brady part to me, I just don't buy it. It's lazy analysis. People just continue to do this like, oh, well, with Tom Brady, look at his record and without Tom Brady, look at his record and go back to Cleveland. He's a different coach than he was in Cleveland. And, you know, a lot of people will tell you what happened in Cleveland wasn't all on Bill either. Hey, I don't know. I wasn't inside Cleveland's facility. I don't know what's going on there. I know the special that was done on the NFL network, Bobby blah. But if you look at this team, if you're going to say that it was because Brady's gone, the team is struggling. You know, last year I would buy that a little bit more because cam wasn't good. Like this year to me, it's not necessarily the offense. It's the decision making that is questionable. And even when Brady was in New England, Belichick was a really good decision maker. Was he perfect? Of course not. He had the stupid drop punt thing against Philadelphia. He did plenty of things that people second guest. He didn't do it consistently as much as he's done it the past year plus. But I think it's the decision making that has people wondering. And I think when you look at the time when Brady was here, we didn't have as many of these and maybe it's because they were out in front more often with Brady. But I know there were a lot of games. You know, there were a lot of tight games with Brady as quarterback, where we would look back and say, man, what Bill did in that third quarter? What Bill did in that fourth quarter? That decision that he made, you know, late in the game, how the defense played the approach that they had. You know, I mean, it's kind of weird when you look back to Tampa just a couple of weeks ago, and it was rather obvious that that defensive game plan was perfect against Brady. Now, was it perfectly executed? I don't know, probably not..

"Contract. Well, you know, thought thought he blew a fart, but he really should his pants. He thought wrong. Like if you look at restructuring, Gilmore wasn't going to restructure with the Patriots for whatever reason. So you didn't trade him at the trade deadline last year. You didn't try to trade him during the off season. You said, well, we're going to restructure him or we think we have leverage. So we'll be able to restructure him and keep him this season. And you ended up reading that wrong. And so you end up with a 6th round pick in 2023. For a guy who's a top 5 cornerback in the league when he's healthy. I don't know how anybody can look at that and say, it's a win or that it's, you know, try to explain that away. To me, that's a clear loss for Belichick. You can not allow a guy who is as talented as Gilmore to walk away to get out of your building for a 6th round pick two years from now. To me, that is a mismanagement of the asset. And yeah, I mean, I absolutely agree with you. I mean, we've been talking about it for a long time. We've been talking about on this podcast for a year. We talked about trade lot. Everybody, Nick, this is how blatantly obvious the situation was that the Patriots had to trade stuff on Gilmore. Gilmore put his house in the market. That's him and his agent talking in his agent going like the Patriots aren't idiots. I mean, they know whether they're going to give you a contract extension or not. If they're too, I think there were two and 5 at the deadline. That was after I just want to go back and look. But it was, it was over. I think that was after the bill's loss hang on one second because I wanted so they were two and 5. Yeah, I think the bills lost. I think the trade deadline was right after that. Because November 1st was.

"All right, Greg, let's start with the Stefan Gilmore trade, did you like it? No. I hated it. Yeah, I mean, look, I just, I don't understand it in a variety of ways. The only thing Nick that really explains why bill would make this deal now and take what he did is if he had some suspicion I'm not saying it's factual, but he had some thought that Stefan Gilmore, first of all, let me backtrack and explain things to people. When you are on the physically unable to perform list. And you are in the final year of your contract, like Stephon Gilmore is. You have to get off of pu P or else your contract tolls. So basically, if Stephon Gilmore just says my quad hurts the whole year and the Patriots never activate them, we're right back here next year. He's on the books for $7 million for next season. So Stefan Gilmore has to come off a pup to get his service time. He has to be active. He has to be placed on the active roster. He doesn't actually have to play in a game. He needs to do that because that gives him his service time. That means he's played this year. He'll be a free agent next year. So the only way this deal makes any sense to me, Nick, is that Bill Belichick had some thought some suspicion that Stefan Gilmore because of their contract negotiations would not would not play this year that he would basically get cleared off of, get passed on his physical, and then be placed on the active rotten as soon as he's placed on the active roster. Basically fake an injury. That's the only explanation I have Nick, because it doesn't make any sense. There's no, especially there's a cornerback shortage in the NFL. There's a quarterback shortage on the Patriots. They're now down to JC Jackson, Jonathan Jones and Jalen mills, and that's it. That's basically all they have. There are no cornerbacks and for the Patriots to be like, oh yeah, we can we're gonna trade away a guy who was defensive player of the year two years ago, and it was still a pretty good decent number one cornerback last year. And who knows what he would have come back as this year?.

"And now Alex, you can make your final point on let's talk Brady Belichick. Yeah. Well, no, I think this is relevant this week because again, we talk about, you know, how are they going to innovate the offense? This is kind of as crazy as it sounds. This is the perfect week to do it. This is a great time to have this conversation because we're out of September. We're out of that preseason mode. It's a premium opponent. It's a prime time game. We've been discussing these concepts for week. It's weeks and it kind of feels like it's now or never. Don't start, you know, don't start open up the whole playbook against Houston. Right. You should beat them with you should beat Houston with the Mickey Mouse offense. So what I will say though to go back to that question is a good question and you know when I talk with friends about the stuff I get asked like, how is the system that succeeded for 20 years? Suddenly not working. And part of it, you're right, you know, Tom Brady was a big Tom Brady wasn't a system quarterback. The system is, you know, it's a quarterback reliant system. "Day after the announcement that Cam Newton has been released by the Patriots first chance to hear from Bill Belichick on the quarterback decision. This is the number one story for all of training camp, finally have a resolution, a shocking, you know, for some people, decision to cut the veteran Cam Newton go with The Rookie to start. And this to me was a freaking layup for Bill. It's so easy to say, max done some things really well. Some things he needs to improve on. We like a lot that we see, but, you know, we've all got to focus on Miami and flowery things about Cam Newton on a send off, which he's done a million times before when he lets a respected veteran go or a player who they like. He did none of those things. What do you think was behind that? What motivated him? I have my theories, but I want to hear yours because I was following you on Twitter right afterwards. You're like, that was freaking weird. Wow, what's going on? Yeah, I mean, it's a great question. John, I mean, I asked people in the building and they're like, who the hell's nose? You could say, you know, because Bill looked in a pretty pissy mood if you ask me this morning and that could indicate that he didn't want to make this decision. Honestly, for Cam in Year two with the New England Patriots, I thought he was gonna be a little bit better a year ago. I still think that there is I mean, the M V P might not still be in there, but I think there's some really good football stealing Cam Newton. I think he's going to show that a little bit

Has Cam Newton Secured the New England Patriots' Starting QB Job?

"Newton and mack jones strong showing and the patriots preseason win which capped off bill belichick described as a good week finally felt like cam newton. Joe was able to take a little bit more of a strong hold on the grip of the patriots quarterback competition. He looked good in the start. Eight of nine hundred and three yards finish with one touchdowns. One on one touchdown no interceptions. He played three series before. Mac jones the rookie than took over jones first-round pick from alabama was also quite productive in this outing. Thirteen for nine thousand nine hundred forty six yards over four series. He had no touchdowns and no interceptions so all week long. We were talking about houses quarterback competition going to go in new england. Who's going to separate themselves. How are they gonna look now that they actually get to see some competition during the week in practice with those joints against philadelphia. I was reading earlier in the week. Just about how those practices went and that it was jalen hurts of all people who was standing apart of all the quarterbacks that we saw in philadelphia but now with cam newton and mack jones. This makes this one of the more interesting quarterback battles of the preseason because you have an incumbent in cam newton who was played a lot more seasons of professional football than his counterpart mack jones anecdote always feels like bill ballot checks to give him this final shot to prove himself and so far looks like he's off to a pretty good start.

Mac Jones Gaining Momentum as Eventual Patriots Starting QB

"Do you think about the pat- patriots quarterback battle. And do you think it's possible mack. Jones starts week one. Oh there's no question it's possible. I mean i think if he if he beats him out if he's clearly the better option and camp. Then that's bill belichick will do i. I don't think there's any doubt of it now. He's been saying cam newton starter since draft night When they when they took mack jones. But i think he you know obviously he wants to rookie to have to earn it. They put number fifty on him Mini camps so that that's a sign of that. But yeah i mean i think it's it's entirely possible and i think what you saw was cam newton. You know yeah. I think he's frustrated with the questions. I think he was coming off by. Most accounts was was kind of a tough practice for him And he probably. Here's the steps. I think you know everybody who's been around. Eighteen says that matt jones is closing gap so I'm it's likely the cam. Newton feels the same way and that's probably making him feel some pressure.

Cam Newton vs. Mac Jones: Where Patriots QB Competition Stands

"The other side. I it's a more interesting. Quarterback is a quarterback competition in new england. What is the sense. You get the dynamic between cam. Newton and mack jones. Yes quarterback competition. We can call it that cam. Newton is the starter plated limited amount of time against the washington football team. And then as you mentioned mack jones and it's very important not only to listen to what bill bella checks says but what he does and what he did was put back jones out there with the first team offensive line for a couple of plays at the end of his at the first half against the washington football team and then he had max jones run the two minute drill the no huddle offense and that he did with command and obviously precision and they were very impressed with that but right now what he wants to see what bill belichick wants to see and he said this the other day he to see the whole team but particularly the quarterback play faster react faster execute faster and what better way to do that than enjoying practices with the philadelphia eagles and then a preseason game on thursday night but yes there is a competition and we'll have to see how this goes in the next couple of weeks but my money is on cam. Newton starting the season and mack jones quickly getting up to speed and pushing cam newton for the starting job.

Patriots Sign Quarterback Brian Hoyer to a One-Year Deal

"Going on with the Patriots. Obviously, the biggest news item in the last 24 hours. Brian Hoyer is once again. Greg Choice once again. Belichick can't quit him. Brian Hoyer is once again, back with the Patriots in the quarterback room. Wait, the big news isn't James Ferentz coming back, I was. Prepare for a hold James Ferentz, whole interior, office behind breakdown. Let's do it. So yeah, horror is back. I think this is fantastic for the Patriots. This is something that you've talked about. I wrote in my column, the night that Mac Jones was drafted, I said, by the way, can we get Brian Hoyer now in the building, sign them to basically be Mac Jones's Tudor and I believe from them alive talked to, that's why he's here. Now look Brian Hoyer. No matter what you think of him, he's no slouch, he's been around, he can get, he's, he's a good emergency backup quarterback. Who knows what's going to happen? But right now, of course, the popular thing Nick is to say, oh, well, this must mean something about Cam Newton or Jarrett Stidham. They must not like what they see maybe and they're looking to replace them as far as I know. None of that is true. All I know is look. It's met. This is when you you get down to now that we're past covid-19.

Robert Kraft Gives Honest Assessment of Patriots Drafting

"Heard from Robert Kraft yesterday was a man who was completely honest about where the the team is in a lot of different areas. I wouldn't will get into this but I don't think his quarterback comments were Something to really weigh in heavily on but I do think that overall I mean him talking about, you know, the draft specifically the personality just sound thrilled with having to Shell out as much money as he did and he basically admitted that the only reason they had to do that cuz they didn't draft well in recent years and and he committed what a lot of us have said where it's not sustainable to do that. You need the draft to be the lifeblood of your team so that you can do other things like you can't just every three years song ten free agents. It just it it's probably not going to happen be it's not economically feasible. And so I thought it was very refreshing for Robert to to talk to the assemblage yesterday and and really be honest and I think you know in judging from the comments at Boston Sports Journal com from my column off of this press conference wage. Think on a whole I thought the Patriots the Patriots fans reacted very well to it that are really like, okay. Well, at least now we know that the person in charge realizes is a isn't happy about it called last season horrible and B thinks that the team has made correction and is moving in the right direction. That's all anybody ever wanted to to hear from anybody at at one page place and they heard it from Craft and I think it made Patriot Nation breathe a little bit easier. Not that they weren't confident in Bill Belichick rebounding in any event, but I just think it reinforced that. All right. Well, we're still the Patriots thought we had a we had an off-year didn't go well we're going to correct things were going to get things back on track.

Kraft Admits Patriots Are Not Perfect

"Kraft speaking some truth Greg about the 2020 season and how the team got to this point. Yeah, I thought it was really refreshing Nick. I thought that you know, look the only person I understand how the Patriots are set up and I don't disagree with the way the Patriots are set up that page during the football season bills the one who talks for the football organization and I get it. I don't disagree with it, but it's a little bit problematic when off season is going down the tubes and you're not getting any real answers from the chief executive of the football team like this past season with Belichick. He basically deflected everything off at defensive about any questions. Look he's in charge of the team. I understand pointed comments about say there. Their inability to draft. Well the past couple of years wouldn't exactly reflect. Well on the players, he's currently trying to coach but there is a way to say what everybody wants said without saying it and Bill just decides to do things the quickest way possible the easy way possible. I understand why he does it I'm not going to I'm not criticizing him for it. But it it does cause problems when the team looks like it's floundering off where we going. What is the direction things like that? And no one's answering any questions directly and what I heard from Robert Kraft yesterday was a man who was completely honest about where the the team is in a lot of different areas.

"Listen, it wasn't a good product you and I know that we know that they were in the middle class we talked about that since I don't know a week four or five that this team is it's not a bottom-feeder. It's not a contender. It's not a playoff team. It's somewhere in the middle and imagine if you didn't have Cam in his leadership. This thing could have looked even worse because off the field off the field aside from home. Let's check actually saying some things that made people angry off the field these players and how they handled their responsibilities. You could have asked more of them. So just imagine if Cam wasn't nice guy wasn't the leader and you had somebody else and it didn't work out and you finished three and thirteen and hey, who knows right? Who knows? What cam did the impact he had on the younger guys that looked at him and said, oh he's handling this the right way think about all the younger players on this roster and I know they've got plenty of veterans and they've got leaders in that locker room. So I don't want to make too much of being the guy and you know, the only voice and and the one that everybody follows but he's the quarterback in the quarterback as the face of the team. The quarterback is the guy that asks, you know, all the place is the most and he's the one that gets asked the most questions from the media and if you had somebody at top right underneath Belichick who has you said took everything personal was just angry at the situation wage. Angry at everything like that might have led to some of these guys checking out by week 13 or 14 and that's when you start to build a bad culture. That's when you start to build a theme that is full of dudes that you know, hey, if we're not 7 and 2 to start the season I might start questioning what the hell's going on here. So I do think there needs to be a lot said regarding what came off the field not to say that he played well on the field and at the end of the day it's about wins and losses..

What he's talking about Big Ben Rothlisberger Peyton Manning Andrew luck all guys with different skill sets. And he's going to have a guy. Tom Brady. Who's older guy but still a very productive for so. I trust the quarterback coach combination. That I know that has a wealth of experience that seeing it all with the weapons that they have on their team at their disposal to go out there and execute at our level. I take your take on ESPN news. I'm Jason Fitz. And let's get some straight talk brought to you by straight talk wireless we talk about COMBOS. We have to acknowledge that we're really looking at. Who can get the most out of the player or coach that there with in a way that they can win. We have no proof of concept for cinema. And that's something that as much as I agree with everybody. The bill belichick deserves benefit of the doubt for what he's been able to accomplish as a head coach when we are comparing simple knocked teams in the only conversation is a coach quarterback. It is incredibly disrespectful to what Tom Brady has accomplished in his career. To even say jared stems name in the same breath of that conversation. This is nothing against sitting. It's just what the last time we saw him. He wasn't quite getting it done at Auburn in a way that we thought that he could. If anybody had thought jared stood in the draft. Was the next Tom Brady. He would have made it past the first round. Halley wouldn't have made it past the first pick so some come in and suddenly act like jared stood. Him is the future. And that's okay and we can presume that it's all going to work out what we're allowing to happen there is. We're allowing the bias of seeing Belichick. Having done it in the past and we'd just presuming that he will do it. Get I understand the presumption I understand how easy it is to do that? But when you want to talk about specifically comparing two different teams to different COMBOS. When you're talking about a coach in a quarterback Combo comparison not taking any of the rest of teams capable of to say that Bruce Arians and Tom Brady wouldn't get more benefit of the doubt umbrella. Check and Jarret. Stidham is over inflating. What Bill Belichick deserves for benefit of the doubt it's over inflating would jarret stood stidham deserves for any benefit of the doubt in the League. And it's frankly insulting to what Bruce Arians and Tom Brady had both already accomplished. Its I take your take on. Espn news that some straight talk wireless no contract no compromise. It's interesting ric Bucher Brought this up that so far. It's been a little bit of a sanitized version of MJ. We haven't heard about the gambling. And the Steve Kerr punching incident the the gambling incident interesting because I mean the bottom line. Is there some stuff here? If Michael Jordan goes out and talks about gambling he's GonNa go out and talk about beating guys gambling. The problem talking about gambling. Is You gamble with somebody else. So if you If if if I didn't want to talk about My my let's say I got into a bunch of fights as a broadcaster and there was coward gets into a lot of fights. And then you asked me about the fights and that was a big tough guy. If I told you I fought it. Basically be telling you yea knocked all these guys out so I would be making them look like schmucks for a second time to talk about Jeff. Gordon talk about gambling. He's gotTa talk about who he gambled with. And is it possible? Michael's like I don't really. I don't WanNa get into my golf games in my late night. Poker Games and how much. I wonder how much I lost. I don't know maybe I'm I'm apologizing for Michael Jordan. There are things in my life. I don't want to talk about because I have to talk about them and mentioned other people and I don't WanNa drag other people into them like Steve Kerr. I talk about that. It's public. We fought he can defend himself. I always say to my when I used to take calls. I used to say don't rip another broadcaster. Who's not here to defend himself? That's not fair right. So Jerry Krause I you know. I was critical when he was living. I mean I I. He was a bad. Gm to me I don't know that makes sense. Joy Maybe if. Mj was scaled back a little on the gambling because he was gambling with people all the time. Yeah I mean there's no way to tell a story without telling somebody else's business right but I also maybe it will develop into it but I don't really feel like this is an MJ story. It's to me. This is a story about that bulls team. I mean. We're learning about each of the individual characters in that story in that Saga and MJ's obviously Michael Jordan. So it feels like an. Mj documentary is why we care so much but so far it Halley. Feel like it's all about knowing it's interesting. It's like if you're doing an activity that's illegal gambling right. Why would you WanNa talk about it? Let's say there were days that you did cocaine and could you talk about it? Well no because I did it with these teammates and this woman and I don't WanNa talk about it like if you're doing something that's illegal and people ask you about it part of the reason you don't want to discuss it is other people were involved in my really illegal habit. That part I could see Jordan. Just say I gambled whatever you find you can use. But I'm not gonNA comment on it. Yeah Not GonNa add. I'm not going to add to it which I totally get by the way. I don't know why I don't think the Patriots are tanking. I think the media's ee struggling with this. I think they're rebooting. You ever had your computer at home. And you got to reboot young plug it for like three minutes. Then you plug your computer. Do this with my phone. Probably once every other day I just turn it off. Something's not working and then I turn it back on an iphone works again. The audio works or something Jeff. How of the athletic on the Patriots potentially tanking? He's a writer. He says the idea the Patriots would take for Trevor. Lawrence doesn't hold any water now. Here is two reasons. I it's not. How CHECK WIRED. I disagree Bella. Check always does what we don't expect. He's covert secretive manipulative. Smart always has a plan and shocks us all the time. Wouldn't it shock you if he tanked? That's exactly how he's wired. He didn't draft a quarterback this draft. He didn't draft a skill. Person is draft. Didn't that surprise you. This is how he's wired doing things we don't expect. He's not predictable we. He changes his game plan every week. This is exactly I would tell Jeff. This is exactly how he's wired. He's wired by the way he's also showed over time. He is about the big picture. He's willing to experiment in September joy. What's his worst month regular season set? September willing to have short term risk and failure for long-term winning his worst month is September. That's Bella checks worst month so he is wired this way. I'm GONNA experiment do things for the greater good of the season. I mean he he took Malcolm Butler out of a super bowl. Do you think he was wired that way. If he's all about winning the second thing. Jeff how says a second in this? Traditional transitional phase ballot check with risks. Losing the locker room. You know th the great way to alienate the veterans who have trusted him over the years. Oh you mean the guys. He's gotten rid of. They're all golfing. Brady Gone Stephen. Got cousy gone. Harmon gun eight Abner Gone James Devlin. Gone Kyle Van Noy Gone Jimmy Collins Gone Ted Karras Gone Ben Watson Gone Danny Shelton God Rob Gronkowski gone. He doesn't have tailgate veterans. He's gotten rid of all of them. Outside of Stefan Gilmore who is in his prime and he loves corners and they hightower so I disagree with the premise by jeff how this is exactly how. Bella check is wired. Secretive always a plan always ahead of the league big picture over this Sunday. Big Picture season over September Sunday. Secondly there aren't veterans last year's draft in this year's draft heavy defense heavy kids. He's gotten rid of the veterans. There is no pushback. Gilmore's not pushing back. Because they pay him. He's the one Patriot they pay. And they don't pay anybody so Gilmore's and Bella Checks Cam. He's Abella Check Guy. Does Dante hightower. Who could be a coach after he quits? Playing Bella check loves it. Those are Bella Chat Guy. He doesn't care about adamant he didn't pay anything so I again. He's not a tanking. It is like Golden State. This year came into the season knowing. Claes hurt. And Katie's gone. The minute STEPH GETS HURT. They shut him down and play the young guys. They tanking whether or not trying to lose. But they're gonNA play young guys. Nobody's saying Bella checks trying to lose but he is letting go of really good veteran players and not replacing them knowing next year to a plus quarterback prospects. He just needs one summer suggesting. There's a third or fourth prospect on the horizon. We'll learn more about the next college football season but two plus his right now. So Bella checks like old inexpensive. Let's get rid of all of them. Except Gilmore who's in his prime and he's the best person in the league at his position outside of that. We're pretty much moving off everybody. One hundred million cap space next year most in the league ten picks minimum so far. I don't think it's called rebooting. It's what you do to your computer. You just unplug it. But it's I don't buy the premise. That he's wired this way. September it's been an experimental month is entire career. I'll take a loss. I'll take a gamble to be better in Christmas. That's that's how he's wired. He's a big picture. Guys always been a big picture guy and he always does what we don't expect. I don't think you can call it tanking I think. It's rebooting accumulating picks getting cap space starting over getting cheap getting younger. And that's what he's doing he just. He wants cap space draft picks and he knows that Emmy smart he knows the divisions getting better. He's not stupid he's he looks at Adam Gates and Donald now going to year to and their draft. They have a real GM now he looks at Miami. How well they played last year. How Buffalo made the playoffs. They now have stiffened digs. I mean bell checks not stupid. They're not going six and on this division they go to and four. I don't know if they match up with buffalo anymore. I really don't without Brady. I really don't so it's just the the words here tanking. It's not tanking. I don't see it is tanking. It's rebooting you know Bill Belichick. This morning knows. This is not a super bowl roster. He knows that he's he's not a dumb guy. He knows that I mean. Ask yourself this. Do they have one dynamic offensive player? I mean Julian Edelman Slot Guy that they they they they don't they don't have one dynamic offensive player. He didn't address that he built a defense defense. Really really good. He's going to build the offensive line back up so when he gets the Star quarterback and maybe it's Jarret Stidham. I don't think it is but if it is then he gets the quarterback and get the weapons in here. We go you. Everybody's caught up in tanking. This is not the Philadelphia. Seventy sixers with Sam Hanky. That's not what's going on it just unplugging the computer wait a few minutes plug it back in. Get your juice back Ben. Watson's coming up be sure to catch live editions of the heard. Weekdays at noon eastern nine. Am Pacific so next year the Patriots will have one hundred million dollars of cap space so and Bella Check has struggled drafting offensive players. They don't have an offensive pro bowler drafted since so. The last two drafts. New England has spent a lot of their draft capital on defensive players where bill is had a much higher hit rate as a personnel guy. So I look at ballot check. They're going to have a one hundred million dollars to spend. The last two drafts. Have been heavily. Reliant on defensive players plus Dante hightower and Stefan Gilmore. Are the two older players that are expensive? That he's keeping what is it telling me that New England next year is going to spend that money on offense because ballot check has struggled to draft wide receivers. He struggled with it and that built. Maybe bill saying listen. I'M GONNA have one hundred million dollars next year. I'm not great at at drafting wide receivers. It's not what I'm good at and Dante Scar. Nekia for the record could retire soon so if I had a guest this morning I'd say bill's GonNa spend money offensively next year and he'll continue drafting defensive players because it's hit rate on linebacker safeties corners and defensive linemen and edge rushers. It's pretty darn good. It's pretty darn good receivers. It's not you can't debated. I got thirty-five. He's got a bunch them in front of me. He's drafted not a lot of hits and that's with Brady. I don't think it is, but if it is then he gets the quarterback and get the weapons in here we go. You. Everybody's caught up in tanking. This is not the Philadelphia Seventy sixers with Sam Hanky. That's not what's going on. It just unplug the computer. Wait a few minutes. Plug it back in. Get your juice back. Ben Watson's coming up. Be Sure to catch live editions of the heard Weekdays at noon eastern in Pacific. So next year. The Patriots will have one hundred million dollars of cap space. So and Bella Check has struggled drafting offensive players. They don't have an offensive pro bowler drafted since. So? The last two drafts New England has spent a lot of their draft capital on defensive players where bill had a much higher hit rate as a personnel guy. So I look at ballot check. They're going to have one hundred million dollars to spend. The last two drafts have been heavily reliant. On defensive players plus dont`a hightower and Stefan Gilmore are the two older players that are expensive that he's keeping. What is it telling me? That New England. Next year is going to spend that money on offense because ballot check has struggled to draft wide receivers. He struggled with it and that built maybe bill saying listen, I'M GONNA have one hundred million dollars next year. I'm not great at at drafting wide receivers. It's not what I'm good at and Dante Scar Nekia for the record could retire soon so if I had guest this morning I'd say bill's GonNa spend money offensively next year, and he'll continue drafting defensive players, because it's hit rate on Linebacker, safeties, corners, and defensive lineman and edge rushers. Darn good. It's pretty darn good receivers. It's not you can't debated. I got thirty-five he's. got a bunch them in front of me. He's drafted not a lot of hits and that's with Brady. A Ben Watson played sixteen NFL season seven of the sixteen. With Tom Brady and Brady Reference Ben Watson more than once. When he, when he left New England about their relationship and we welcome Ben who, by the way forty eight no Wunderlich Test I. Have I have a here third highest in league. History is the author of two books. Maybe that's why Brady got along. Intellectual physical thing how close we're been. How close we're Tom you I mean he's referenced you Multiple Times, How close are you? Are you doing man have..

"What is Belichick doing his draft we don't have a second round pick you know so that really limits to be said there were twenty three isn't that dark zone right where no matter what he does you know it's probably going to take a guy for next year's team I mean that's really the reality knows nobody wants to talk about it but most of the players but what you get outside at eight or nine guys they're typically for next year's team your draft and hoping you'll get something out of them but the real value comes next I think I'll take a guy with a great shot upside to at any position I got it he feels like has tremendous upside that they could bring into their system can really grow to be a size speed player at a position that they feel they need to fix on the football team but looking at the twenty twenty one to more than anything I don't see him traded up for quarterback let's see Justin Herbert's were to slip to ten or eleven they don't they have to give up next year's one to do it I don't think he's inclined to do that he after we get past because obviously boroughs going number one we think Herberton tool going somewhere in the first round and you mention Jordan loves a guy Miami likes they've got the extra first round picks of the next tier of guys Jacob Beeson big guys got the big arm from Jaylin hertz who was very impressive as far as wins and losses are concerning college what do you what's your what are your thoughts on kind of that second level of quarterback and where they go and how good some of those guys can be yeah that's a hard one you know like I'm not look I like to work you know I took a lot of heat from you know obviously boomers and his simple laws are worried about sure but I I'm I'm worried about you know pocket passer six feet tall you know Kenny do all the things that you got to do it in its own stay healthy I think that's a concern I think when you look at Jacob Beeson I think he's got potential to start to finish is you've got to correct in terms of his work habits and what he can do you know if the quarterback has to be able to do the things he needs to do off the field and on the field recent I don't know there's a kid named Jake Whitman from Oregon state and why I think is a really good got a chance to be a a circum what I call a circumstantial starter got it to come in and play but once I get past their other than toward love and hope I think you look at guys better down the line I'm not sold it hurts can play cornerback here's why one Alabama how to throw the football the denture that bothers me that bothers me a lot now and you could say well he went to Oklahoma if people study Oklahoma football team and study what they're doing offensively and how they run their offense it's highly run it's a lot of one on one chance options a lot of these heroes those throws don't come with you to the NFL I think it's going to be hard for him to control the football and make a living playing quarterback somebody's going to take him in the second round and it wouldn't be me we'll see how it works out to a Michael body of course the address tonight eight o'clock the first round the Indian SLR if this thing happens with the dolphins and they move up they make this deal with the choice to get the three how far down the line this corner drop where does he want out yeah that's a great question right so you got to think that you know I think you could go to the Carolinas Maureen on CJ Henderson they are anybody that Caroline has been in office right and Derek brown if you made it to them and whether he does or not you know it could go to Arizona I mean I was only due to court look Arizona is in the bottom twenty and twenty defensive categories Arizona ranks thirty or less there are bad on every single level of the defense now what they've done this offseason is they don't want to try to prepare themselves they signed some guys to try to help their defense but they they need another corner even though they drafted Byron Murphy there last year Patrick Peterson is a good player I think you could go there I mean if Jacksonville doesn't take the quarterback they're going to take a corner you go there as well miss you by Jacksonville because Gardner Minshew had you know a pretty good year last year and it feels like you've Gardner Minshew was a first or second round pick considering you only won six games he put up pretty good numbers especially when you compare to other rookie quarterbacks that the quarterback situation would be viewed differently but because he was a sixth round pick it's like yeah is he that good Jacksonville should go get a quarterback what am I missing on Gardner Minshew are they not as in love with him do they think last year was a fluke what what do you make of that with Minshew in Jacksonville I'm a little bit ranked twentieth overall in offense last year you know why on third down there were twenty six in the red zone they were thirty first couldn't put the ball in the red zone could put the ball in the red zone in the end zone and couldn't convert third downs I think you know certainly he somebody that you have to live and he's got a lot of moxie to a lot of talent in terms of what he was able to do but I think you've got to compare him is he better than to us is he better than her but that's the question you have to ask if even if you think he's equal to or similar to that you can't take those two guys right and I'm not sure I know the answer that I would guess the answer would be I like I think hope is better than Tyrod Taylor remember Tyrod Taylor was the guy the bills had on their team when they traded their first round pick to Kansas city because they had Tyrod Taylor intensity pick Patrick Mahomes look all of this all of this comes down to how do you evaluate your own teeth and how do you evaluate your player compared to the players in the draft so the beat that all right with that see see here's I'm curious about now I'm not suggesting anything crazy is going to happen with the giants but the giants loved Justin Herbert last year that's what we had heard it obviously didn't come out so there was no chance to draft in the draft Daniel Jones what a pretty good rookie year if they love Justin Herbert that much and they still do what are you doing if you're in that room in your Dave Gettleman you're you're not pulling the plug on Daniel Jones but if you love the Herbert that much what do you do on a night like tonight I mean I think you know look at the John Merrick made a decision last year with Dave Gettleman they went for the quarterback I think you've got to go I mean that's the problem I mean that's the problem you've got to be able to sit there and say if we turn this card and is this guy going to be good enough for us for the next eight years and and that's an issue and you got to know who the players are your I mean you turn the car if you're Jacksonville so you could to a but let's just say you pick two up until it comes in and he's got a red shirt is he better than Trevor Lawrence next year when you have the first pick in the draft are you going to trade away are you going to trade away from Travelodge because you have to think about that now you gotta ask yourself this question right right you gotta you gotta send it look we could draft two in Jacksonville this year right but he's got a red shirt he's he's gonna have to get himself healthy even if he plays Peyton manning played all you're gonna want to do right place round the first pick in the draft next year are we not gonna pick Trevor Lawrence why did it it's almost like you're making that commitment ahead of time to give your Jacksonville you take to a you're limiting yourself from Trevor Lawrence even if you're picking number one because why would you use a first round pick to take a quarterback who's not even get a plate then the following year could take another quarterback that's my point so you gotta ask yourself that question that's what I've heard all along that that Jackson was a defensive corner now lately there's been people saying they're more inclined to talk about the quarterback but you gotta make damn sure that the quarterback you take your team is not very good I mean your team was twenty fourth on defense last year couldn't stop the one you've lost a host of players off that team right and you signed Joe Schubert okay you side you know Rodney Gardner you side Tyler after you sign some players but you're not gonna get any better than that you're playing in a conference that's got the colts are pretty good whatever people think of bill o'brien he's only won the division five dollars six years right so he got the shot watching your pretty good football team and the Tennessee one playoff twenty playoff games so like are you really going to win the are you gonna win the south he was six and ten last year can you come back I think that's the fundamental question I don't know if Tony Kahn's asking a question he's completely fights on Twitter with the with and big white the reality of it is is that's what general managers have to do the future of the franchise if you don't ask yourself that question how do you really know what you're doing you're managing on a line item basis and anybody that manages on a line on a basis never can see the future you know you mention in the inequity and also Trent Williams and it suited these guys get traded tonight you know here's the problem a trend here here's the deal he's a really good football player and he still he could come in and give you three four five years a left tackle right it is probably better than all these tackles in the draft but they're all cheaper than him they're all younger than him so now the Redskins won a first round pick I gotta give you my one and then treat Williams wants another he wants to he wants another taste he wants a bigger contract so I'm double dipping like and what would you say that no I I can't I'm not doing that if the value comes down from the Redskins maybe I'll consider it but why would I do that why am I going to give you a huge asset and then reward the player this is one of the stranger so damn hard all right the two injury stuff I know that's what because you know boomer to yell at you and you defend yourself here's the bottom line if a guy is injured or there are injury histories and it's related to the draft we all want to know I want to know Joe wants to know every GM wants to know so how scared or nervous should teams be about the health of two well I think that look here's the reality and if you believe this and you know I do I believe past performance predicts future cheap that that's a model that I've always believed in the draft past performance to predict future achievements and if a guy has been hurt playing in thirty two games and a guy six feet tall he's not one of forty yet you know he's not run the.

"Me. Chandler has been getting a lot of attention as more and more people recognize him. Some of it's not so good people who don't like what what I'm doing you know. For the most part it's positive people asking for autographs. Even tipping him a group came in and I was an item on their scavenger on thing. I had to have video of them dancing with me. A man working for an HR firm wants to use him as an example of work ethic for his company approached me set on that he wanted to do a Include me in part of his video whereas employees Chandler's own boss says Chandler's work ethic is giving others a good impression of his business smallest store in terms of his ability smallest sign in line. It's very easy to miss as you drive by. And yet it's the most known as a result of Chandler's displays works it. It works folks. If you are not convinced just check out the store put a link to it on the show notes you can check it out there. That guy looks like he's playing the drums. He's going all in for hours at the time. Unbelievable now the final final action item. You can do every single week. These these eleven move. That definitely work that you can use is having employees give you unemployed testimony of what it's like to work in your office every week That is really really powerful. Jason Why is it so important to have video testimonials of your employees explaining what it's like to work there. Well it's just good to have. It's just it goes back to the video reviews. We can have as many Indian glass door reviews as possible but somebody along lines and back I don't know if I believe that. Well if you have a video I mean you know we have someone on your youtube channel that shows actual employees there. They don't have a script they just say okay. This is why I like working working. Here's what's different about it. They'd be row of the rest of the officer. You can see that they're not actors they're real people. If you type in Clay Clark employee reviews you can see what I'm talking about is so important. Horton you gather those reviews now. Bill belichick quote number eighteen. This right here is a powerful quote that somebody needs to write down Jason. What say say the less versatile you are the better? You have to be at what you do. Think about that for a second. In the context of football throughout at the years Bill Belichick has switched to a lot of different positions because of wh- injury and Jason Feerick coach. What sort of control you have have over? who gets injured or not? I mean I guess there's like a slight bit of control. Just make make your condition and trained well but you never know if somebody's GonNa take a hit wrong Ortho team just gonNA come at you. The opposing team's culture even harder so the most control you have is being able to fill that spot when somebody does get hurt so let me give some examples here for you'll get the the Patriots this year started the season with the guy at the fullback position by the name of James Devlin. Now James Devlin did not play fullback in college. fullback fullback where you basically run with the ball occasionally but more often than not you block four a guy running the ball. You make sure you're clearing a path so he's very very good good and he got hurt. So let's bring in the backup so they bring in a backup and they bring in Jacob Johnson and they're bringing Jacob Johnson and He gets hurt. It's another got their linebacker or landon. Roberts playing fullback. They're on their third straight. Gin Element is a receiver in the Patriots. He was a quarterback in college and occasionally during their offense the Patriots have him throw the ball. But he's actually used as a wide receiver. Why is that helpful Jason for the Patriots knowing that their receiver ever could also play quarterback? If need be if Tomlin's up you know break a finger or something happens. God forbid they need somebody who can still play that position there it. It is so again in your office. Do you make actionable Jason. How many people are not people in our office no how do search engine optimization and sales calls and know how to coach people a a great deal of the team Why just because let's say I get hit by a bus already? decided you know clam taken off the entire month of December. Sure I'm just you know. Christmas is the twenty fifth. Why did you start off in the call center and then move up to managing people before you could become a coach or a consultant? Well there were plenty of times where we would have people just not show. Oh up or show up late in around the corner you know you John as a call up and say hey you know how to do this job. Can you cover until the next person gets here. Absolutely then that way your bases are covered. And I'm getting paid. That's great but if you do not have a versatile team and you're a small business owner and there's only one guy in your company that knows how to do photoshop. What happens when you lose? Somebody will not only are you. Sol if they get sick or they quit butlers so brother you're also going to give them the ability to hold you hostage. People hire the website guy who wants to do. Php Oh and then he goes you or have been lying to you the whole time and you have no idea but that's because you relinquish that power by not having somebody ready or not having a source of wisdom that could you know verify now bill quote number. Nineteen he says. What what? Jason I think a good quarterback or a good linebacker a good safety. Even though you have a lot of bodies moving out there it's slows down for them and they can really see it then. There are other guys that are there other guys that it's a lot of guys moving and they don't see any don't say anything. It's like being a busy intersection. Just cars going everywhere. The guys that that can really sort it out they see the game at a slower pace and can really sort out and decipher all the movement. Which is hard but experienced certainly helps that? Yes that's powerful right there guys who can think well or the kind of people that he wants on his team now as a business coach or a consultant before anybody can become a client. They have to schedule a thirteen eighteen point assessment with meat and Jason. Why do I do all the thirteen point assessments myself? You are a very good judge of character but also oh you ask important questions and you see things differently. You look at it from the scope of somebody who has built multiple multimillion dollar businesses in. So you have a better understanding of who is going to be a good fit. Yup and I can see patterns. I'm like Oh this person would be perfect. Or here's the obvious cheek in their armor here or the five to ten things that are limiting their growth. I can see that easily because I have been in the forest out of the forest in the forest out of the forest through the forest up to the top of the mountain back down the mountain up to the top of the mountain back down to them over and over top to the to the top of the mountain the bottom through the forest and so now there's been some brush rush that's kind of grown up. There's been some lack of landscaping going on and now the path has been kinda covered. Yeah it's been kinda there's weeds growing up everywhere in that forest forest and the path has been obscured with snow and other obstructions leading up to the top of the mountain. And because I have been to the mountaintop I know which way to go. Okay even though some might not see the path anymore or maybe some have never known the path at all and it's amazing to me how how easy business can be if you have a good coach or an expert leading the way and so Jason. I thought we would do kind of a fun. A fun thing here is we. We were just released a Thanksgiving show during Thanksgiving and I thought the show went really well but I thought for a second you could share with the listeners about the growth percentages of these clients that are having growth this year so if you could just read the name of the company and their growth percentage edge that would be a beautiful thing. Let's read through all twenty four on this all twenty three on this list. Yeah so Scott's construction. They are builder. They had forty or fifty four percent. Growth Two thousand eighteen two thousand nineteen metal roof contractors they are of course a Roofer. They had eighty seven percent growth. Come on over here. Let's see gene breeze. She's a speaker. She had fifty two percent growth come on now. Bryant Armstrong. He's a builder. He had forty eight percent growth. Wow accolate exteriors. They windows and exciting eighty six percent growth reading off the names. Look these people up in verifying keep going a quality surfaces they do countertops they had seventy six percent growth come on now gables. Excavating evading self-explanatory had sixty one percent growth yup back to basics builders had a growth of twenty seven percent on Kelly. Construction Group had a twenty one percent growth. Both Yup Bogarde and sons construction. They had thirty three percent growth. That's huge growth. Thirty three percent growth continued. Yeah third restoration. Health chiropractors had one hundred fifteen percent growth. Come on come on best. Buy Window treatment. They had a seventy five percent growth. Yup Cheney construction had a fourteen percent growth yup custom automation automation technologies a sixteen percent every. Go See T.. Tech had fifty six percent growth. There we go Lake Martin. Mini Mall shouts to Mr Jason and Alabama had thirteen percent growth. And he's not even into December yet right as the time of this recording. It's not even December sooner stand. He's GonNa end up with a twenty percent growth and we we knock out the month of December her. That's a record salesman for most companies. Continue Health Works chiropractic doctor. Jay had a twenty percent growth margin all of these clients. These numbers are documented. And we we have not even and finished last month of the year. December is the biggest amount for almost every business continued Davinci Imas P.. They had one thousand ninety seven percent growth. Wow inspired spaces. They had a forty forty percent growth. Yup Laundry Barn had a one hundred percent growth. Yep and then our team Angels Touch Inborn Massachusetts had a seventy one percent growth full full package media with fifteen percent growth who'd CPA's almost doubled the size of their company this year. Shah homes has grown from thirty seven million to eighty million dollars. I mean we're talking about massive growth. It's because these things work in my job as a business owner is to just kind of slow so it down and to look at Your Business from a Meta level end to see problems that are harder to see if you don't see see things from a Meta level Jason. If you're so busy in the day today reacting why is it hard to see the obvious flaws that somebody else could see when they're not in the forest what why. Why is it hard to see the forest when you're in the middle of it well because you're you're close to everything you're super surrounded by only see what's right in front of you? Meanwhile in the foreground and background there's all sorts of stuff that easier to that. Needs your attention. I also find that the emotional fog of the situation. It's like you're in that fog and if you were five hundred yards away and you could see how close to the edge of the forest. You are You wouldn't be discouraged. No not at all Buni movement going on a circle for ten years or five years or whatever and you can't see how close you are to the edge. It becomes very very discouraging. Our final notable notable quarterback. I want to hammer home today on. Today's show is Bill Belichick quote number twenty one which he's famous for saying and I think it I think think it's easy to look at it. And kinda glance over it and not realize how profound it is in really what it means but let's go ahead and read our final. The bill belichick quote of today's show. The quote number. Twenty is do your job. I think a lot of people's struggle to do their job for the following reasons one. I WANNA do my job. And I'm sick Jason. When I'm sick what do you pop some dayquil and you still beat everybody here? Okay but I want to do my job but I have one hundred and two vacation times and with a hundred and.

"A cute up here code. Aw Boston was robbed with record. Snowfall and historic flooding after a massive storm took hold of the northeast but despite the frozen conditions the players got to play. Oh man so they are walking so this is the patriots in nothing but their gear. So Glenn Patient Celtics Jalen Brown proved that the phrase no days off runs true. No days days are so why. Why is it a big thing and important thing these guys to practice outside right now and some of these guys? NFL players making millions of dollars a year. Why are they outside well in order to play and make millions millions of dollars a year? They have to be able to play when it's difficult and they're going to succeed. Where other teams don't because I mean this these guys marching through the parking lot? It's windy. There's deep snow. It looks miserable but they have to be out there. What happens to the other teams have been practicing in a dome dome? Climate controlled environment win. Snow hits during a real game. What happens to those guys? They'll be distracted. They'll lock up. They won't know how to maneuver like these guys practice on you. You don't run on snow or slippery surfaces so the exactly how to go in order to not impede their movement but even then it's like a what was the. What was the play from the podcast? We did last last week where bill turned over the ball because he wanted to kick with the wind instead of against the other team didn't even think about that. Yeah Bill Check and if you listen to some of our previous shows we've took. He kept lot of examples but bill during a critical game elected to these at. Hey I don't want the ball during overtime like you don't want the ball. He just won the coin toss. Why do you the ball? Well he wanted to have the wind at his back and that his back and sure enough when the Games online the opposing team tried to kick a field goal into the wind. They couldn't do it right in so bills teams able to March the ball down the field and kick a field goal and win the game dip. This happens all the time now. Notable number fourteen this this just in from the bill belichick notable quotable center is what When you get wet it usually means something good? What does that mean? That was a great question. What does that mean into the twelve year? Old and music don't say it. Let me tell you what it means. He likes bad weather conditions. And why does he like bad weather condition because it's hard and the other team hasn't practiced in it. Right is what you to understand. This there are so many examples of former patriots. Talking about this but bill belichick. We'll actually make the balls wet and scuff them up all the time during practice. So that when you're in a game and the balls wet it's not new but what happens if you're trying to catch a wet football for the first time in your life and you're doing it on national television. What happens like somebody's tossed a billfish out of the river just flopping around and you have no idea how to grab it okay? Let's move onto the next door to record old notable for fifteen from coach. Bill Belichick. Whatever success I've had it is because I've tried to understand the situation of the player I think the coach's duty is to avoid complicating matters? Let's go back to notable quotable number fourteen for a second. I'm asking you what can you do to make your office environment. mm-hmm it tougher than it is on the plainfield so as an example. If you have a call center why would you want to role play Jason. The frequently asked questions or customer complaints situations situations with your call center team before they have a real complaint because it gets them ready Back when I was working at the call center or the rental car call centers ars working at. I came into both of those not having prepared and it wasn't until I started working for the call center that I would have weekly times with my manager in any other trainer where you go over hard customer service issues or you'd play a call back and say okay. What did you do wrong here and it would get me prepared that way the next time somebody calls in and they're screaming as Cagney? I don't lock up. I'm able to go in with nothing but candor make them build that rapport and then diffuse the situation. But if I weren't experience with that I wouldn't be able to close that anytime. Well we have another record. We'll hear from an audio excerpt from a James Harrison. Now James Harrison played with played for Bill Belichick during his final season in the in the NFL he will be a hall of fame NFL player. He was the strongest man in the NFL during his career. He's been the majority of his career on the Miami dolphins however James Harrison has been on other teams teams throughout his career and so he's played for a lot of different coaches and that includes the bengals and he played for the just. Jackie is this is like look at this guy I mean he. He played for the Bengals. He played for the steelers. He played for the Patriots. Those arms. What the crap? And so James Harrison is being asked about what it's like to play for bill belichick versus playing for other coaches. And this is what he has to say. We'll make sure we're getting under a Tomlin online versus a ballot check like I said it's discipline. Everybody think I'm talking about you know the players are just running wild. They're doing whatever they want to do is disciplined as far as understanding of defenses the execution them even with the players. You know understanding in this being taught the same way by everybody else. It's not. I'm not saying that the team is going crazy. They don't remember they WANNA do. That's that's what I'm saying. That's the big difference that I felt when I went over to New England. Well the reason why it's such a relevant subject is because Terry Bradshaw obviously working for five doing a great rage offer them for years four time superbowl champion with Pittsburgh steelers. He did an interview a couple of days ago when he spoke out about Tomlin and he said that he wasn't a fan and that his his coaches style. He's more interested in being friends with the players than doing anything else. My attitude a simple Tomlin has won sixteen and sixty as a head coach. He's been the three F. C. Championship. The Games two Super Bowls Super Bowl title eight playoff appearances and there's eleven years as head coach of the Pittsburgh steelers. I don't think there's much the plan about other than to say. He's not bill belichick but when you hear era bradshaw saying what he said. What do you take from that like? I said everyone's entitled to her opinion. You GotTa look type of coaster he played under versus right WH- versus what he's seeing. Now I would say that you know cholera was you know another coast that was you know. He's explaining that Bill Belichick a little discipline. He has on the team translates onto Indus success on the Field Yup. So let's let's break this down to small business language. Let's talk about checklists checklists gotTa let me check all the employees. Do not like Halloween checklist. Why do employees not like what I think of checklist? This is what I think chips. They they make it work. It's a it's a sexy idea but most people think about checklist. They think about.

"Years ago that bill Belichick announced he would be resigning as a New York Jets head coach after twenty four hour stand to maybe not even that was Katy Perry the one that got away and that New York football are New York football fans and beyond was history altering I mean bill Belichick filed a grievance and then a temporary restraining order to get away from the jets and at a swap of some inconsequential draft picks I looked bill Belichick became Pete Carroll successor New England and at the time Robert Kraft said for number one draft choice we can bring in a man that I feel certain can do something rather than the uncertainty of draft choice and it wasn't even close when I thought about it that way he was right two years later the patriots won the Superbowl the jets on the other hand are still searching for their first Super Bowl appearance in fifty one years since January twelfth nineteen sixty nine this head coach can't and won't bring them there and now the New York Jets are watching the playoffs from their couches like the rest of us their head coach is surely no bill Belichick and their GM Joe Douglas his prowess in respectability is also about to be tested in his first offseason as judge general manager after coaxing Ryan Kalila retiring for an abysmal season that landed him on the I. R. in November after seven games he turned out to be a six point seven million dollar mistake that I know I'll be honest I uploaded it at the time so no Douglas is faced with three potentially franchise altering over arching personnel decisions to make a key special you press a key specialty positions especially now with this news that the dynasty New England maybe over this lady on bell have a place in Adam gurus offense if yes he need to speak with his head coach this is the GM who egregiously under utilize one of the premier backs in the league to selfishly back up his own philosophy that he never wanted the guy to begin with and if maybe on that does not have a place in Adam gurus offense well then Joe Douglas need to find a suitor who will ante up that not only under the big contract that he doled out but they have to get something substantial return form can he Robbie Henderson is set to hit the free agency market is expecting a deal in the ten to twelve million dollar range reportedly so should Joe Douglas in the jets with the tenth best cap situation corn sport trac in the NFL leading into next season pony up for Robbie Anderson deal the guy never made a pro ball despite having big for on the sidelines were chamar during a live game broadcast one time and then there's Jamal Adams who undoubtedly will seek to become the league's highest paid safety in twenty twenty once free agency a two time pro bowler the only one in New York City this season by the way has just been named to the NFL's first team all pro team sport trac said his market value route twelve million per year ask yourself jets fans who would you rather have Anderson or Adams for me without hesitation it's Jamal Adams file this under you can't make this up news you any Cespedes who had this song.

"I mean, the average thirty five and a half is not like all of a sudden the average twenty and then when they play the patriots. They get forty. No, no, they got fifty one against the Rams. They got forty just the Steelers they got forty five against the Bengals they get for their a lot of people. We're not just talking about twenty eighteen though, we're going back to twenty fourteen. Okay. That Monday night massacre. So the hall of Famer, Shannon Sharpe. Just beautifully broke down to you. Exactly. Why? Andy Reid owns Bill Belichick why he has Bill Belichick number and that number is forty way to go. Because what we just saw all. The numbers you just displayed. They all scream that. In the end Bill. Check has lost his fastball on defense. I don't know. Why people can't see this because it has routinely happened most much of it because of Andy Reid, but I can go into several other games in which he is clearly just lost his fastball. These numbers scream that Bill Belichick should thank his lucky stars for the quarterback at age forty one who continues to save his legacy and let him off the hook for these collapses that routinely have happened, especially at the hands of one Andy Reid. So we're just we're not going back to the Super Bowl the long ago after the two thousand four season Super Bowl ancient history and Bill of check had his fastball in defense in those days. But lately since Andy Reid has been in Kansas City. We have seen again on just want to drive these numbers home, forty one points, forty two points, forty points. And in those games and by the white. There was a playoff game. Stuck in the middle of them after the twenty fifteen season. It was an early twenty sixteen a division Plath game. In Foxboro that went down to an onside kick just for the record. And I'm gonna I'm about to break that game down just a second. But in the four games Andy Reid is coached against bell checks defense while he's been in Kansas City, the chiefs of gone twenty seven of fifty three on third down. That's fifty one percent..
