Archiving posts from the Capitol attack has value for police and researchers

"Since the attack on the us capital which was filmed and photographed extensively. There's been a scramble to find an archive all those images law enforcement and researchers are collecting them for clues and also to try to understand what happened. The research and investigative journalism site. Belling cat collects open source intelligence and publishes reports on news and global events with a small staff of researchers in digital forensics experts and a big crew of volunteers giancarlo. Fiorella is gaiter at belling cat. He says the site just published a sort of forensics report on the movements of the san diego. Protester ashley abbott. Who was shot and killed during the riot we published in our local yesterday. Outlining the journey of ashley babbitt was the title of the article. So by finding all of these video. Also showed ashley abbott for example reconstruct. Somebody's journey through the capital from the moment that they first entered the building through the time that they were walking. Down the corridors. To in the case of ashley abbott. Her very last moments When she was shot. You know it's interesting because you've been at this for a long time at belen cat and yet there is sort of this parallel outpouring now of amateur digital archiving and you know attempts at identification and aggregating data related to. Let's say this attack. How are you doing it better so i. That's a really good question. And i wanna make a distinction here between the archiving and the identification. So imagine you're in your couch. You're surfing through youtube. You know the algorithm recommends a video. You looked for it was just there and you notice that it's a video of the capitol right. You might submit that to us and they were. You know we would archive it for you. What we don't encourage people to do is engage in crowdsourcing identification because that can have really disastrous results. We've seen in the past. What happens when individuals are miss identified as having perpetrated some sort of crime i to say look. We know that the person in this video is this is their name because we found their facebook page. That's a very deliberate process. And the chance that somebody will make a mistake is multiplied.

"Well, Nordstrom had, but they have now sold out of their very unique pet rocks. Oh, I heard about. Yes, it was. A rather expensive pet for Iraq anyway, and $85 leather wrapped rock and the moment they went online. It went viral all over social media and sold out and including the smaller $65 version, as well. Always spokesman for Nordstrom declines to say exactly how many were sold. Well, I had a pet rock as a pet. Oh, when I was a kid I did to. You know what? How long ago was that? That big pet rock phase Because, golly, it had to have been seven. Fouled my 30 some years ago, please, if not for two years ago, and I spent a lot of time going outside and picking out the most perfect round stone, and then we painted it with that pain. And we put like a little applicators level years and glue them on. And I didn't have pets when I was really young. So I was really desperate. And this was kind of had to been a pathetic attempt of begging for a dog from my parents. Here's my little pet rock. Oh, I need a doggy s. You actually made your own pet rock instead of going out and buying your own pet rock? Oh, gosh. No, I wouldn't have thought one. I mean, that was part of the fun was kind of making it your own and, you know, putting a name on it, Decorating it, So Yeah. For you kids that don't remember this and think This is the first time the pet rocks have been around. Everything's very cyclical. Of course, you know people wear old clothes again. The pet rock was big, big big of the sleet seventies early eighties, I think, and there was I mean, they made millions and millions of dollars. These guys just selling rocks and calling them pet rocks. Crazy, isn't it? Really? It really is crazy. But they are low maintenance. But for $85, don't evacuate. Shelter, please. Now that's for the leather jacket. I'm sure you might be right. Next, you'll be able to buy clothes for your pet rock. Well, they had that, too. Remember that back in the seventies, they had the clothes they have. I'll tell you. It was an idea. I'd wish everybody had wished They thought of that. Nick Cannon out at Viacom, keeps deal with Fox

"I'm Kim, masters and this is the Hollywood breakdown joining me as my usual banter buddy on the business, Matt Bellamy and Matt this is very unfortunate situation that has developed There's a sort of a back and forth in the black media world, their business antisemitic incidents most recently I think is nick. Cannon was on a podcast, endorsed some clearly antisemitic views about Jews controlling the media, and whatever the these are old tropes. I have to say to her credit. jemele hill weighed in saying this kind of talk is unacceptable as did Kareem abdul-jabbar and a column in the Hollywood reporter, but this nick cannon incident he led to him, being fired by Viacom CBS a, he initially clapped back, and said you know. The CBS was treating him unfairly, and then seemed to have major change of heart and apologized and said he was gonNA learn, and he was sorry for the hurt he had inflicted, but. What's interesting to me? Is that while he fired? He had this show on vh. One called wild and out and other things going on CBS. He also is the host of the mass singer on Fox and you know. How surprised are you that Fox said that apology is completely acceptable. We're hanging with you on the mass singer. Yeah, I mean this really does point to an interesting dichotomy that's emerging especially when you look at a lot of the heightened sensitivity around these issues of hate, speech and inappropriate comments that have really come about over the past six to eight months. Fox seems to be an outlier here and a lot of people have put it in monthly. Yes, a lot of people have pointed to Fox News, which obviously is the home of many incendiary comments? Tucker Carlson was recently forced to go on one of those quote, unquote preplanned Fox News vacations when it was revealed that his lead writer was revealed to be posting anonymously on racist and homophobic and sexist websites. This is always been you know. The Fox News is separate from Fox Broadcasting Corporation which is run out of La. It's all owned by the Murdoch's, but Fox's always positioned itself as we have the LA operation. And then we have this Fox News thing, but here you have. Have a very specific incident on a Fox show with the host of not just a Fox show the most popular show on Fox and the Murdoch seemed to be okay with it. It sends a message that this isn't just Fox News separate from the La Company. This is all one company in the Murdoch's seemed to be endorsing a very tolerant. Shall we say view of this kind of speech? Yeah, the MURDOCHS ARE GONNA Murdoch. You know they they run the company. It's theirs and. Walk is possibly even more conservative than his father Rupert I'm not saying that a person can't apologize. Learn but I think when you make comments like this that nick cannon made. You. You don't just return with no without missing a beat. It's like okay, thanks. That's great. That just feels to me like it needs a little bit more of a pause. And why don't you go away for a little while and seek the truth and come back when you you feel that you know there's been a an interval I. Don't know if you reversed the situation and he were white host. Making these kinds of comments about say black people. That host would still have a job. That's an interesting question I. Don't know, but what is also interesting is just the state of the. The Fox company now because until last year Fox owned a movie Studio Television Studio a lot of businesses that have traditionally more liberal and more creative types in them. Now they've gotten rid of all that stuff to Disney and the Fox company is Basically Fox, news sports and the Fox Broadcasting Company, and it really has allowed them to be insulated from what's going on in the rest of media, which has been very attuned to these issues and very intolerant of this kind of hate speech. Fox's now kind of sewing its own path. Yes, now it's a little more obvious. Thank you, Matt! Belen former editorial director of the Hollywood. 'Crazy Rich Asians' Co-Writer Leaves Sequel Over Pay Parity

"I'm kim masters and this is the hollywood breakdown joining me as belen the hollywood reporter and matt you know progress for women <hes> and others were there was a study. I'm talking about a study that just came out a study from the center for the study study of women in television and film and it did find some increases in the representation of women both on and offscreen. We're not talking like the world's problems resolved. A seventy percent of the women that were involved are whites. That's one thing but the study found that the number of speaking characters female speaking characters dresses up five percent from two thousand eighteen to nineteen versus two thousand seventeen to eighteen and the it's not just minor characters the percentage of major your female characters grew from forty percent to forty five percent so that represents progress and i think that these numbers are a direct result of of some of the inclusivity pushes that we've seen over the past couple of years connected to the me too movement. Yeah i mean let's again. Most of these seventy percent of the characters are white so it's not that inclusive -clusive. I think a lot of groups are very underrepresented and behind the camera t._v. Creators writers directors producers et cetera. That's thirty one percent. What are women of versus twenty eight percent so i wouldn't call that a great leap forward <hes> but you know it's something and as usual than the the biggest group in that is producers because for some reason women have always been over represented relatively speaking in that role so yeah ah but still as the director of the center for the study of women in television and film she says for example this is a historic high in terms of women directors twenty a six percent but she says historic high still means men outnumber women three to one certainly is an improvement however we saw some news break this past week week from hollywood reporter an interesting story about what's going on behind the scenes of the crazy rich asians sequels and this is an interesting project because it was such a leap forward for representation in the industry. It was the first all asian cast a major studio movie in twenty five years. The movie did huge box office worldwide and a lot of the stars of the movie have gone on to be cast in other big studio franchises which is how the representation movement is supposed to work. Give people the opportunity they perform and then they get other opportunities so we saw this past week. The writer of the crazy rich asians movie the co writer adel limb. She walked away. Hey from the sequel because warner brothers offered her substantially less money than the co writer of the movie who is a white male and her her rationale and coming forward about this in an interview was that if she can't get parody in salary for the sequel to a hit movie she doesn't think anyone can get parody. If you're a person of color every woman trying to get to the same level as her male white co writer and she didn't give any any specific figures but the starting offers from warner brothers were eight hundred thousand to a million dollars for him and about one hundred ten thousand dollars for her now he's much more experienced experienced writer but this is not the first installment of this and she was credited as a co writer of this original film so i would say that is not a great look doc. <hes> now this co-writer the the the white male peter torelli. I hope i'm pronouncing his name right. Forgive me if not he actually offered to split some of his salary with with her. She said no yeah her argument was that it shouldn't be the co writers responsibility to make up the difference so to speak and that the the person of color or female writer was being treated as what she called soy sauce. Which was you know you have a dash of color to sprinkle on the script and you know you don't recognize this person as bringing their their life history and bringing their perspective in the same way that you value the white male co writer <hes> whether you agree with that or not this is her opinion and it does look pretty bad when you think about the fact that this is not the first movie in the franchise is this is this is them going into the sequels to this movie trying to get the same creative team on board. Warner's had a problem with this. This happened a couple of months ago and they've tried to bring in other writers to <hes> to bring that asian american perspective and they haven't been able to actually went back to this writer to try to get her on board and she wouldn't do it yeah. They seem to be sort of in no particular rush the filmmakers anyway so if you're looking forward to the crazy reg- asians insys sequels planned. You're going to have to wait <hes> whether they can actually figure out how to get themselves out of bad. Look on this one. We'll see thank you thank you. That's matt bellamy editorial director of the hollywood reporter. He joins me this monday. At one thirty on the business. I'm kim masters and this is the hollywood breakdown

US Inflation Stayed Tame in March

"News of inflation today. There is still practically none the consumer price index came out this morning core inflation as it's known that takes out food and energy up. Just a tenth percent over a month ago. But you dig down as one must with this kind of data, and you notice some components of the CPI moved quite a bit gas was up six and a half percent apparel fell. Almost two percent. The biggest one month dropped there in seventy years point being those kinds of month much fluctuations show, just how hard it is to measure inflation accurately and the speed at which this economy changes in helping at all marketplace's Mitchell Hartman takes us out shopping to explain I went to my local grocery store to check prices just like the four hundred data gatherers, the euro of labor statistics sends out every month. So I loved blueberries they have a big container them from Mexico, and that's seven ninety nine a smaller container five ninety nine and those. Organic and they're from the US. So how do I compare those to be measuring let's actually coming out of the consumer's pocket. Steve Reed is the economist in charge of consumer prices at be L S. He says it's crucial to compare like to like if you priced a different set of items, you wouldn't reliably be tracking. How much the cost of living is changing. That's fine. If you're talking about t shirts, which don't change much, but what about computers prices, keep falling? But their power keeps rising former BLS Commissioner Erica, grocery says there are elaborate methods to capture that so Flynn a new model comes in with a new Belen whistle. Notre Dame historian Thomas Stapleford says if you had been a revolutionary war soldier you'd have cared. When Massachusetts agreed to start adjusting, the pay rates for their militia based on the prices of beef and Indian corn and sheep's wool prices were skyrocketing. Getting soldiers to reenlist depended on getting that inflation rate. Right. Just like it does today for cost of living adjustments.

"belen" Discussed on Magnify Him Together

"Hey, everybody. This is Jonathan Belen with McAfee him together podcasts. This is part. One in our series study to show yourself approved unto God, it is in titled the need for bible study. Throat history got his always preserved a small remnant who cling onto his life saving truth communities will arise and disappear in a relatively short period of time. We know the names of some of them such as the Donna tests, the polygons will densities the Anna Baptists and an air age the Kristel Funes, I read of the protesters or the brethren in Christ will demonstrate this. However, we cannot be complacent with our place in history. These communities have disappeared over time when they lost their pioneering spirit and began to take the precious truth for granted the words of Hosea captured the ageless issue a communities of believers who have been called out of the world to be kings and priests, but who slowly let go the precious bible truth, God told Israel, he had a controversy with the inhabitants of the land because there is no truth. No mercy nor nal. College of God in the land. Now, that's Jose chapter. Four verse one he pointed out the issue of Israel's fall, he says in verse six my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge because thou has rejected knowledge I will also reject the that I shall be no priest to me seeing the has forgotten the law of God. I will also forget children while after one hundred seventy years of existence. The crystal elfin community is liable to the same disconnection from the word. It is easy for us to take for granted the truth that as we read the preface of the book, the protesters were told was hammered out on the anvil of controversy. We can take for granted the fact that our forefathers were rescued from the clutches of the churches, and the thou shalt not surely die false doctrines that they held we cannot afford to become complacent and trust in lineage as our birthright or we become like the generation of John the. Baptist day who were warned begin not to say within yourselves. We have Abraham to our father. Or I am to you that God is able to these stones to raise up children to Abraham this is not something to become depressed about but rather something to spur us into action as the apostle Paul and courage. Timothy study to show yourself approved unto God a work when the needs not to be ashamed. Rightly dividing the scriptures of truth that second Timothy chapter two in verse fifteen as a new generation we have to make sure of our heritage now, Abraham Isaac and Jacob all dwelled intense as we read in Hebrews chapter eleven verse nine by faith. He sojourned in the land of promise as in a strange country dwelling tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob the heirs with him the same promise. Just because is it had traveled with his father. Didn't mean he didn't have to work for himself after the death of Abraham he found that he had to go about digging his own wells. We read this in Genesis chapter twenty six in verse twelve we read then is sold in that land and received in the same year and hundredfold and the Lord blessed him and the man wax. Great and went forward and grew until he became very great for he had possessions of flocks possessions of herds and great store of servants and the Philistines envied him for all the wells, which his father servants had digged in the days of Abraham is father, the Philistines have stopped them and filled them with earth. That's verse fifteen so, although is it could traveled with Abraham and was prosperous. He still had to dig his own wells the narrative continues in verse eighteen Isaac dig again, the wells of water, which they had digged in the days of Abraham is father for the Philistines. Stop. Then after the death of Abraham and he called the names after the names by which is father had called them on Isaac servants dig in the valley and found there a spring of water. Will this went on throat, his sojourn ING, we find that. He had re Doug the wells. Then the people surrounding took him. This is Genesis twenty six I twenty the Herdman of geared did strive with ISAACs hurt and saying the water is hours, and he called the name of the well e SaK because they strove with him. And again in verse twenty one he moved on and Doug another well, and they did another well and strove for that also. And he called the name of it sitting a neighbor move from Benton dig another well, and for that they strove not an called the name of it rea- boss, and he said for now y'all way made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land. Genesis twenty six versus twenty one to twenty two. And then when he comes to Sheba. He does the same in verse twenty four. Y'all way appeared onto him in the same night and said, I am the God of Abraham father fear, not for I am with the I will bless you. Multiply seed for my servant, Abraham sake. And he build it an Ulta there and called the name on the name of y'all way and pitched his tent there, and there is service dig the well, so they come to call it Beersheba or the well of Sheba as we read in verse thirty two it came to pass the same day that Ivan Isaac servants came and told him concerning the well, which they hid dig he said unto them we have fan water. He called it Sheba therefore the name of the city is Beersheba or Beer Sheva onto this day. So we need to learn from this that the world is constantly trying to fill our wells or fill our ears with its filth. We need to constantly dig are wells or dig out our ear. So they can hear the word of God. This is what Christ did for the equation. We read this Fiji chapter five or twenty six to twenty seven. He. Says that he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word that he might present it to himself a glorious Ecclesia not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing. But that it should be holy and without blemish. So we cannot take granted our heritage. But must rightly divide the word of truth meaning to handle the right, and we don't do it for the approval of others either. But for our God, this is the spirit of the brick Burien Jews, and we need to adopt us. They made the truth their own. We read an X chapter seventeen verse eleven they were more noble than those in Thessalonica in that they received the word with already -ness of mine and searched the scriptures daily whether those things were so so we need to adopt that spirit of investigation and discernment turn in the pages of our bibles ourselves. So we can clean the truth and own it with conviction. Thanks for listening. And please join us again next Monday for another episode on magnify him. Podcasts.

"Arguably. I don't know about that. But okay, well able to yes, we talked to you for two hours about the Canucks mind halo. Have you ever heard of acceleration? Magnus magnetism, my friend. Okay, Stu, but are you one of the most important like about even arguably one of the most important games being retold? And then like, it's I feel like video games are the only place that could happen like with Sony movies going through re-shoots, and it just comes at. You're like, oh, man. They should not have reshot that or how bad was this before. But like, yeah. Do we remain? You're like, wow. I can't even I would not even be able to like tell you what this was. It is crazy that this was a pirate or PG before this like what completely completely different thing. Yeah. Yeah. Nothing. Like that. Supposedly, there's a prototype version of project dream. Oh, yeah. It's out. Yeah. Chris stamper showed a couple years back. He actually showed some footage from it. Okay. Issue's release it. Yeah. What somebody gonna do steal it? And put it on put it on. Like this. It's probably like pre pre pre alpha. You know? I mean, you can play van Buren, which was the precursor fallout new areas like you play that game though supposed to be the first three d fall out. I just think it'd be really interesting to see like what exists in that. Yeah. No. I really want that as a full game because it was a really interesting because again, I've I've listened to the original version of the soundtrack or like the tunes that Kerr Kirkhope composed for it and the game that would have gone to that soundtrack. Feel semi like it would be my favorite game. Like. It's funny. I wonder what score project three would have gotten because Beijing Zulia like nine almost. Yeah. Yeah. Across the board. Yeah. And in in reviews, looking at some reviews before this end like almost across the board. They everyone sort of considered this an improvement over Meyer sixty four which personally, I also do. But we'll get to that later and. And that game got like tents. Yeah. So this is like ten point five is crazy. It's a good game. Just yet harder than what we're used to nowadays. It's me as being there are certain modernisations that didn't exist back then. And this game has aged. It has aged a lot as a lot of games did from that era. The like the spiral of master treatment where they this really that again, it's already been released, but that'd be great. And if they just went in like fixed all the fit like the fireballs in the grungy fight. And they fixed, you know, the camera controls for flying which landing as the b is just it's like what you can't land as you have to on into something. Yes. It's. Is like driving entity stuff. Not no, not really. I just wanted. Gygi ending is the B is like writing a unicycle drunk at night wearing sunglasses who I think there's two. Geez. You have to be the beating scare you. You do stuff near the end 'cause I had ninety four. The Begic is your so easy. The Begic is really the easiest Shakey's in that entire does the snapper plants. You're the be. They don't snap. Yep. Yeah. I saw that. But I didn't get all those. No, I I had enough. I was done with clock would. And I yeah. I have enough. I believe. How did you guys? Do what I did it. I where you went in in the fall version of click Lockwood, and you went up to the squirrels house, and he was like, hey, can you get my acorns and there's one that's literally out in the middle of a bottomless pit. And you're like. Not going to do this one. Yeah. If you look down you have to purpose perfectly land on this little like planks sticking out. I did have I accident. I was like fucking. I'm going for it. 'cause I jumped across Jin got it will you. What you thought was what I did. You can kind of cheat the jumping in this game as well. The falling. I should say. If you because the game has to like, double jump type actions when he can do an attack, and that'll stop you're jumping mid air, like your pack. And then you can also do a double jump where it's like kazooing we'll take over and fly for a bit. And so if you're coast to the ground, and you at one of those buttons, you don't take any damage, so I was like, well, screw it. I know how to cheat the the of the fall damage this game. So I'll just go for okay? I they underneath and five state. Whatever reason I didn't put it together that you could also use the peck attack that way. So that's why that yeah. Because you already have to use your double jumped hit out into the middle to get the to get the nut. Maybe just Belen got it. I can't remember I added to that. I did by accident because I jumped for it fully expecting to have to like fall in us, by my pack or something I landed on the plane that was a lot less in kind of the game does kind of expect you to know that or like figure that out and to do it. Because like a lot of the time. It's the only way to get down from places. Yeah. Like what if you? Yeah. Tree any other any other game. If this were like if this were like a ratchet and clank game, there would be there would be one of those little taxicabs up at the top where he just jump out and takes down at the bottom. But in this one you're just supposed to no, no if you hit the button when you're really close to the ground, you won't take any damage, and that's how you're expected to get down doesn't have the Skyros dungeon in that always comes out right at the main entrance. Never played. Yeah. Don't what do people that never played Scott. This. I have played sky. Okay. Screw it. We're gonna take that we're gonna all by scar. Oh. We are not doing. Skyer every inspired ins with like, a you unlock secret door and takes you right back to the beginning of the dungeon, everything circle. Which is a good design. But there are some dungeons in the game that don't have that. And when you come across those engines, you almost feel cheated. You're like God, I have to walk. What is this? Crabby expanding. I my analyze would every Jair PG does. And you just put in a spell that works. You to be entrance Goldensohn. Yeah. I use that retreat smell a lot. Yup. But it's just a shame. They could do it for the dungeons. But they couldn't do it in the fucking over. It's true. Or let's zone. I was like. Resulted it when you pick up the the boss like the little. Great time. Join math by little shiny platform would open up on the floor that just takes you. Right back to the interest yet. That'll be really good way to do it. All right. Here's a checkpoint. And all right now, you don't have to go through all that again. Now, you can just get back to your like that's a very natural way to do. It's like built into the dungeon. You actually have to do that it matures mascot terms into like actual gameplay mechanics to go back and beat bosses again as a quick way to do that. Right. Yeah. This game. Definitely. I want to say it needed that. Because it the way the levels were built they were. All very, yeah. Yes. That's again, a big. That's a big triumph of this game. Is that it has levels that are very dense and complex, but also compact and easily navigable like you can always get back to the entrance from wherever you are. And it never takes that long. So I got no point in this game day. And no point in this game was I angry because I didn't know where to go. It was more. Just like I know what I have to do. And I'm just not doing it. Like just can't you're out one of the hardest things with this game. Is that like you have time where you have sixty seconds. Literally have just enough time to get what you need to get done. It doesn't give you like here next couple second. Exactly. Yeah. No this game. That is actually something. I like about this game. Is that this game doesn't treat you like a kid? It's this game disparity though, because yes, you're is very mature yet the humor's very immature. It's also sometimes very mature in ways that would go over most kids heads. I have like five notes here about until this sweaty underwear. So. Yeah. And there's also like that thing at the end with the with after you beat the boss in the like victory cut scene where there's the leggy blonde carrying. Yeah. Watermelons on it literally the only human being you've seen the entire game. Is a blonde boot. Yeah. It's it's a blonde way of red bikini carrying too. Watermelons sunflower boobs. You know, we can play a game with son. Don't you? Yeah. That man. All right. Let's. I didn't do after banter Zooey a couple odd gonna take a big mighty pool. And that idea. Use me the rate. Mighty mighty mighty. Thank you, Stuart. How can I how can I have messed up at joke? Yeah. Champa I made it to I've been to funny. I was like I didn't hate the humor this game. I I hate the human because it's just it's feels like force while concrete conquers is actually a different creative team. That's it's a it's a different guy in charge f you like it's people trying to recapture the humid steam, it's well, it's people who were like the whole point of that game is. Oh, yeah. You know us we're rare you can always expect like like they knew they were pigeonholed as the banjo guys. So he was like, you know, what fuck that we're going to. Say obviously kept up with view. See if these. It's like the Hewer. This was very like immature. But I I don't know. I never got like angry at it. I felt like yeah. Yeah. No. It's it's actually kind of charming in the we I like annoyed kazoo e and I hated bottles. Well, I mean, you're meant to be annoyed kazoo, she's annoying. She's like. Like.

"What does that mean, you'll understand what the insurance companies try to do to you? You're gonna understand. These strategies of the insurance company, you're gonna stand what you can do what you shouldn't do what you should do. Jerry bell. Brad Pollock are law firms. Belen Pollock college anytime at three zero three seven nine five five nine zero zero that's seven nine five fifty nine hundred. What are we talking about today? How are we going to help you today? Are you ready? Here we go. So over the years, and I've discovered that some of the most significant points, and obviously, sadly, we can't cover every one of them in this in this show or any of our shows. But some of the most significant points you face when you're have an injury claim. So let's talk about hit and run hit and run happens. All the time in Colorado happens everybody just pick up a newspaper. Listen to the news. There's a hit and run. So Brad written a book called cowards of the street hit and run give people the ideas. But let's talk about a hit and run. I don't think a lot of people understand even what to do with the scene. What do you do the person hits you and they left? Sure you have. Hit and runs in. You have missing runs in the hit and runs are ones that you definitely want to call the police about you want to get people involved right away to identify and verify the fact that you were hit the person did take off that the obviously it's it's very hard to gather your thoughts when you're in the midst of an accident when you're in this crash and quite often we're talking about pedestrians that are getting hit. And even if you're in a car you're getting hit or getting run off the road. You're getting sideswipe you're getting pushed off to the side. It's very hard to to reckon with that. And to deal with it into understand what you're dealing with. You you need to be able to to get as much information as you can win it's happening in when it's going on. So you understand what's in you. And you can talk about what's going on when the police show up, and you're going to give them a statement, you need to be very very careful about what you're saying. That statement you wanna say at one time you want to get a police say it. You want to be as thorough as possible describe the car describe what's going on? And you want to be ready to to to to help the police in any which in any way, you can determine where and who the person is that hits you you want to also hopefully have if there's any witnesses around or anybody you can that they came to you and said they were witnesses, but couldn't wait for the police or or let you card or whatever you want to refer them immediately. You also want to put your insurance company on notice. He's important that you put your insurance company on notice right away. Because once again. Yeah. You you. You are at a point where your insurance companies become your enemy at this point. Insurance company is going to be looking for ways not to pay this claim while you within run and having dam they've been damaged cars damaged you've been hurt or both your trying to collect for this phantom person that a lot of times insurance companies just want to claim what was your fault you caused crash or this was something that you caused in. And there was no phantom person. And they don't want to pay for it. If you've been injured in a hit and run or any other trauma in.

"Especially early in the morning, some light snow from Belen Camden County, and I expect everyone to see an increase during the day, especially in the afternoon and evening getting heavier overnight tomorrow and into Saturday. I'm KIRO seven pinpoint meteorologist, Nick Allard. It's thirty seven degrees in downtown Seattle. I'm their boss from gig harbor to Greenwood this is Chiral radio ninety seven three FM news and talk powered by the Pacific northwest. Scared by Cantat show candy Harper over there. Mike Lewis right here. I just realized that dressed in team colors is looking at the logo behind this. Wow. Look at that. Good work. Thanks very much for some of mashed anything appreciate that. We're going to go through classy tasty adventurous food, and then white castle sweet because white castle and Valentine's Day. That's now a thing. And then candy Harper is going to tell us what she learned today, which is tradition on the show Cairo radios. Rachel bell is an adventurous eater. I know this because I sit by Rachel you, ask her about anything in Seattle work. I go have this or that she knows? So she said off into a wilderness hunt for some tasty food items. What is that show me while trotting through the Verden ferns and mosses and a standard Washington? Forrest a lotta mcgee's dog Lolo sniffed out a black truffle. So when she finds a truffle she will scratch and pod the ground, and then ideally, she'll pointed out with her nose to us. And then she immediately looks to my bag of chicken. Yes. Good girl. You ready? Another one. A lotta owns truffle dot company. She teaches dog owners to train their dogs to be truffle hunters really any dog can do this. We've trained everything from tiny like four pounds to to. Yeah. And that's great because they send you photos of like truffles the size of the dogs had so tiny little dogs that you wouldn't think would be good at this too. Big Bernese mountain dogs. We had an Akita this year in class. There. Also is a breed traditionally is in Italy for truffle hunting, it's pronounced Lago Romagnolo, otherwise we just call them Lagarto. They look like doodles old breed. They're sweets. I have to also takes people out on forging adventures and sells truffles to local restaurants. Didn't even know there were truffles in Washington state. Yes, they are everywhere. Mainly on the side of the cascades on the Olympic peninsula down in Shelton area. Centralia Longview, everywhere where you have a certain type of Doug fir at a certain age that is I co- Vail whose German shepherd named cowboy sniffed out a whole. Whole bag of black truffles in less than an hour. You got something show me. We've got. What a dog what a dog? There are black and white truffles in western Washington right now is the prime time to find both and they're hiding just beneath the forest floor. But they look exactly like clods of dirt or rocks. So without the help of a dog. They're pretty hard to hunt down. There are some people who got in the forest and look without dogs. It's called raking when people do it. They pull a ton of the Duff. So the top layer of soil away, and they don't replace it. And so I go, and I have been to places where the soil has been totally stripped away. And it's really damaging to the environment can really erode the habitat damage salmon streams, all that kind of stuff. And the other one is is that when you rake for truffles, you get some that are rape. And some that are unripe chefs all throughout the country until pretty recently didn't necessarily have a great opinion of truffles coming out of the Pacific northwest because they've always been given this kind of mixed bag of quality. And so when we use dogs to find truffles, they're only finding the right? So we don't find as many, but the quality is much much. Hire. If you've not been lucky enough to smell or taste that travel. They're very earthy, very pungent. You want to smell some of the white. Yes, they are super super super strong. There was thinking up my car yesterday truffles are in the mushroom family and the Pacific northwest variety have a symbiotic relationship with Douglas fir trees after the hunt Alana, very sweetly gave me a huge bag of truffles and taught me how to infuse foods with them truffles give off the amazing aroma and it binds with ending with fats or alcohol, so cheese and butter and eggs and all that kind of good staff. You just take stick a butter. Whatever better you have put it in a sealed container. Trouble just sitting right next to it. Not touching just right next to it all of that. Yummy, aroma will go into the things like butter, and then you can use that leader. It is truly magic. You just leave the butter or the cheese or the eggs in the container for about twenty four hours. And when you're done, everything tastes of travel. I infused a stick of butter and a block of sharp cheddar with truffles and thirty six hours later, I use them to make the most malicious macaroni and cheese that I also topped with thin slices of white truffle. I've traveled a squash I traveled and avocado. I'm currently traveling my stapler if you wanna go out foraging or get your dog trained up or just see pictures of our day out, go to mynorthwest dot com slash Rachel bell. Oh, candy. And he was jumping his way into the race much of the way. He made a mistake at before ask he just do. They're never gonna quicken fund. He's quicken to lead his practice. Two years. A mistake at the last for the east bolted up Wicklow brave was given a suppose you could I kind of a negative right by ruby. I dunno. It's a funny one because he he seems to be track for down on the over deterrent. Last S for dislande has jumped as landed. Ronin Wicklow brave is maybe landed a small base. Platform. Maybe he's gotta be no pace flawed with Soden. He's got a heap lengths to make up and ruby basically rights for second after that and Jimmy gets. If would have been frustrating race to watch fewer if you were hoping Waco brave Wayne bus, maybe he's just not quick enough for a Stanley Ron violence anymore at this level. He is nice Niger winner. After all say is very well sports. So as down on what the he gave way to way to give seven pounds to wait 'til brave on pay per performance may be wasn't quite as good as it looks in. That regard deafness scope to be better still in a property run race. I think he'd be even better. He he's always look quick. And when he meets even better horses, scoring even better Gallup, I suspected bring his farm forward again. So he'd be fascinating Rohner. I could see why they might want to be conservative wisdom, maybe not go there. Gonna have to go into that division sooner or later, if it's not a Cheltenham, it'll surely be punches sounds so run him Ronan run down if he sound, and well, I know yet connections have the five run us. What's what's to lose? If he goes wins. If it goes and beats Buber, they're kind of a high class problem, isn't it? But if he comes up short he comes up. Sure. Yeah. Suppose you are preventing history, but still your horse. He did beat frock law last season. Harry before that horse went on to go and win the triumph for for Gordon. Things went wrong at Leopardstown, and we didn't seem again until November of last year. What what was your assessment of this performance, and how difficult is it as a trainer for five year olds the Champion Hurdle? It's something that comes up every year. How would you fence his chances if they did let go? He's one of the only ones that has really caught on this season is name. I on that performance you'd say he's a good bit to improve to win a trumping huddle. But he just might have him because he's a young host. Will they seem to beat Buddha down things? No, I'm as Kev said you'd probably question of it. What he achieved up on Sunday rule that he did it. Well, as you say like he knew that he couldn't get pasta win. So he probably didn't shave a huge mind. But he's a young host who I would imagine what plenty of good days in to come. The next race will talk about then with review to Cheltenham is the Knicks race core. Racecourse business Clode notice chin as I say necks business club. I do like it..
