So what are you most excited about. Guess of him for industry. I think the the technologies that will be able to create around data. Because we're just now getting our feet wet so the capabilities i believe for the data are so we've started a drilling and now we're moving to completions can. Why can't we apply the same thing you know to produce producing wells. So it's i'm more most interested to see. How low can we get this. How efficient can we get this. And that's that's why. "Control is a mechanism. We used to reassure ourselves or to alleviate fears because we feel that if we have some sort of control on some things then you know we can control the fact that nothing bad is going to happen or that you know it's all going to be okay but ultimately we never can control anything than me. Wanting my facebook group engagement to behi- was just a means of controlling means of controlling help Pow people with come. Sorry and so that maybe it was a test from the universe. Group wasn't going anywhere and she was like just trust that. These people are there in that they're going to come which i did and i completely surrendered to the outcome entrusted that how many however like whatever the number of people i would end up within my mastermind would be the perfect number but i still. I was like universe i demand. That's that mastermind fills up. The end is going to be twelve people. It will be twelve people 'cause like i decided that there would be twelve people end of this story and long story short. It happened right. While i was in mexico and costa rica surfing waking up at five to go surfing with amazing. Lovely people mets super amazing People all around the world and all of district structures were locals like extremely kind. Compassionate people had such an amazing time. wifi was horrendous. I barely you know worked. I think i worked on average. Maybe two to three hours a day Because i had full mode. I didn't want to be on my computer when you have the beach. And the sun coconut trees and smoothie bowls. I just couldn't be bothered or the swimming pool and hanging out and chatting with very nice people so i did a lot of posting from swimming pool. Which could be worse for my phone and worked on average two to three hours a day and had this first six-figure launch while i was living my best life and the lesson is i chose faith over fear so when the financial mess happen in january february and i decided to pay that significant amount of money. The natural response was okay. We're going to cancel all non necessary investments because it's just not the priority. And how many times did we hear that in societies also like a social contract where people say you need to know your priorities like jazz Spending minus leon shoes or a trip or whatever is not a priority. You need to prioritize. You know other things which to some extent makes sense. I'm not going to say. I'm not saying just spend all of your cash in throw it out of the window but it can also very limiting to always live into scarcity right and planning for the worst so i basically was able to say no. I'm not going to do that. I am not going to be announced something that really matters to me. That really made me feel happy in that felt aligned. Because i'm just we iterating. The word even exist or reproducing a patent from the past. And i can't expect a different future during doing the exact same thing as in the past so i'm going to act like my next level. Self who always trust at everything is going to be okay that the universe has bagged that she'll figure something out and i'm going to go and i'm going to launch my podcasts and you ads and whatever and go to mexico and i did and the universe massively rewarded me with this amazing you know mastermind launch while i got the most beautiful aligned. Perfect clients fun to work. With these eleven people it was twelve but then someone was super annoying and demanding. So i kicked out before we started. That's a story for another time to So the most perfect eleven Angel number People in that program and it literally doesn't feel like working. We have a group chat. We see each other once a week. "Bill suggests the administration has thwarted some of the evacuation flights leaked documents obtained exclusively by Fox News show that the State Department has refused to give them approval to land anywhere. In an email to retired Marine Eric Montalvo, who charted these planes. The State Department says no charters are allowed to land at any D O D base and most if not all countries in the Middle Eastern region, with the exception of perhaps Saudi Arabia will allow charters to land you need to find another destination country. It can't be the US either Foxes Benjamin Hall reports. The State Department says their concern is they don't know who is on these flights. But combat veteran Corey Mills, who helped to organize the mission, says that's just not true. Manifest was finished. They were all ready to go, and the State Department Centcom command and the Taliban had approved for this flight to leave at the last minute. As America for getting ready to get on that freedom Bird. That's what the State Department said No. We have to get the manifest once more, and that flight was canceled, and since then they haven't had a flight That's gone out. "So i knew i knew headed into that. We were gonna get stomped right. I was disappointed at how it played out. But i guess if you know it's going to be a thirty point in laws. Can you really get super mad at how it becomes a thirty point you to see your team have a go right. And it's frustrated when like of all things that you would do two things one runs straight into the alabama defensive line Why would you ever do that number to try and catch a nick sabin team off guard right because that third down in seven run was like a hurry up to the line or get off quickly. We're gonna catch. Nick sabin team off guard. Like come on your miami as he's sabin off-guard please he's prepared. I thought i thought that the whole plan behi behind the third and seven was if we were were so going because you have to have to be aggressive with take this conservative approach against good football teams that i find so maddening that to me is the big problem that i had with miami's performances that they didn't really give their team shot. They didn't have a shot but a mad that the coaches didn't give the players is shot but it. It's a two way street. The players didn't do right by the coaches because they got. They got schemed into positions to make plays they just sent to make the plays. And you lop on top. That certainly not that. This thirty point game came to these two blown calls. But you have kind of a ticky tack ejection of bubble bolden and you have that. Dpi then targeting. That wasn't there is a save in effect when it comes to the coaches some alabama fans were talking to us. There was some squeamish alabama fans that said. Wow we we got away with one there on that dp. i must. That must have been a feeling in the stadium because watching it on television and watching on twitter. Everyone thought that was targeting. Everyone thought the starting. Because if it's leads with the helmet into the back of. And i'm not talking about the bubble bowl. Yeah yeah at the stadium. I didn't think it was targeting and it's just like how many times i need miami safety ejected early on because a targeting. I'm talking about one. That wasn't called on alabama that easily looked at that they just flashed replay up for a half second at the stadium. I saw the video afterwards on. Twitter was blatant dp. And then agai set up a kill shot. It was really ugly and it was. It was a big game changing possible. Play not game changing. But at least dr changing certainly for miami seven yards seven catches for thirty seven yards charleston rambo. Now that's the story right there. No no deep shots aggressive play calling just basically hey. North carolina lost last night. Okay let's just get outta here with no injuries now mike. You're very even tempered. Mild-mannered giving cogent analysis of the game super sunday morning. What would this have sounded like halftime. Halftime i was i was mad. I was mad because of what you just said that. I wanted my team to hang tough. I was like just don't embarrass me. I felt embarrassed within the first three. Drives game was over after miami had the ball the second time and failed to get a first down. That game was over. It's just like man. I look like a dick. I'm dressing zubaydah's and i was super amped up and excited for this game i wanted to. I wanted to get to the second quarter right. I wanted to stay in my seats. It's very expensive ticket. And i didn't even want to be there. 'cause my teams play calling embarrass me so i was. I was upset with it. Praying that god that they wouldn't look into a turnover. Because i did not wanna see the turnover chain when we were down thirty no and instead what happened instead of listening to me they would have pulled it out. They pulled it our right back in because it wasn't a turnover right which was extra embarrassing. Can't pull out the turnover chain at thirty two. Nothing no i wanted. What would just had in terms of a loss alabama e. We covered right back. It was tight enough like we had to stay watching right and people flip the flip a channel. Think the audience peaked close to the end of the first half the and they never had a shot at getting six million people tuning in tag game after halftime it. Michael irvin feel the canes at a chance before the game over and always remember. There's a video of him talking about gators about how we're going to cut their throats. Their heart out was very violent. Doing i feel like edge knows better though like nausea. We shot here. Let's be honest mike. As soon as you saw that alabama pump up video from like several years ago. That was going to put her last week. You knew who. I was terrifying. You wanna talk about ghost. That video has been haunting me since i've seen it. Oh my god yeah. That was a alabama as a team. Really frightening as a fan base. Not so much. You guys are talking about those on tennis shoes by the way very nice. That's roger federer's brand that believe shoes no okay you white. Purchase the pair. I saw a pair. "A couple of spots there where sameness those crimson wasn't selling not that much. This is a little bit just a little bit not too much but it was enough for me the notice but overall it was still a pretty good match between those guys. I mean too big bulls when you really think about it. Because i mean just height wise and then factor in the with the way you know i gotta say of all the matches that we offer this week's nwea power. This madge definitely surprised me the most. Because i went into it just going. This should be a so-so matchup by it exceeded my expectations. Are i gotta say so. Definitely definitely pretty solid again. That one went to a draw. And you know how they do it with the whole point system breakdown. So in the event that there is a draw than basically bolt respected teams. Get two points. In nazi sensually will have went down here In this match up from there are champion. Series continued as representing team. All this jeremiah. Plunkett took on sol renault. Low salt rinaldo representing team. Camille also denied iced austin idol Jordan clearwater because this was a fatal four way so jordan clearwater was in there as well jordan clearwater representing team aaron taryn koby carino who is representing team pope and velvet sky. This was your alternates. fatal four way right so points up for grabs in this one here We actually saw jeremiah. Plunkett win by defeating saul rinaldo to pick up some points for his team now. Okay and billy corgan was actually right here In this one as special guest commentating none really too much. You could take away from. What billy corgan Was saying you know. There wasn't anything as far as from what i remember. There wasn't anything that was kind of juicy from a standpoint of ood next week's power or as we got closer or as we're getting closer and closer to empower and nwea seventy three. There was nothing really. His whole focus was just really talking about this champion series and talking about this match and and that really was for the most part he really was just kicking back leading. Joe galley and tim storm do their thing on commentating so But fatal four way between these alternates. You know not for nothing. I gotta give interviews props. Here i love the fact that koby carino still has that hard on for saul renault. So as we've seen these past couple weeks colby has just been tearing it into saul rinaldo big time so it was nice seeing even during his champion series that continued on and i think that's pretty important because even though we're doing this nice little detour right now with the champion series. You know eventually champion series is going to be over and we gotta go right back to okay. Power is regular power especially now that were setting up the pieces and everything going into the seventy third pay per view and all that so you know pretty pretty Good that they kept that consistency. Going right there and I liked how colby carino At one point he called himself joining forces with all god Ma boy gimme a second. I'm blanking on his name. Jeremiah plunkett you know they were tag teaming for a little bit until colby tried to go for a pin fall and plunkett was in having any of that and then closing moments when you get right down to the final couple of seconds of this fatal four way. Kobe was just tearing it. Taryn it big time and saw naral naral and flips and all on his ass by the way he had a pretty as foreword cannonball splash that he did and what was really cool about you know how. Rv de normally does his rolling thunder. You know the whole set up today you know. He's basically coming off the ropes and he pretty much is doing that. Rolling thunder will koby. Didn't do all it at kobe. Didn't even bounce off the ropes and do his modified version of a rolling thunder. He pretty much just stood right there and saul. Rinaldo is pretty much behind him. Laid out on his back and call each other right there in place just pretty much leaped in the air and you know kinda like ford himself into doing a canon ball and splashed right there all saw. It was awesome. It was a really pretty ass spot. I gotta say definitely a really pretty as spot But he was laying in thick on sol jeremiah. Pretty much just ambush colby from behi- took him out real quick and then picked up scraps to pick up the w. there on saw monaro so Yeah but those were your alternates. That was fighting in not one for two points from there representing the team. Aaron taryn tyrus is taking on cradles cradles representing team camille austin idol and speaking of all snyder where she had also neidl there. A commentator commentating. He's a bit conflicted here. You saw gonna nice good game too. Because he's telling joe gallium. Hey tires that's that's my boy you know. That's that's my client. That's my power right there. That's that's my man but Yeah i'm out here rooting for cradles. So you got also to win. This is really really bad. Position here in even is looked at them. Kinda like do. We'll we'll solve. He's like hey baby. Nothing personal you know. You're my guy but cradles man cradles. I'm right here. Represented for cradles man. Come on. that's my boy cradles boy. But now man cradles is all about cradles. Right now and then personal aaron stevens was at ringside as well for those when this was kind of odd too. Because i don't know if it was odd because of a couple of things maybe it's the combination but we had the referee. The referee i thought was pretty cool. I've never seen this referee before. And the referee had tried to come over to tyrus in tires was saying. Hey yo yo you need to check out my man cradles. You need to make sure he ain't holding no weapon look at him he looks like he's a thug he he is some heat. You better check him seriously. Check him so he goes over to cradles. He's checking the mouse checking the boots and everything making sure there's no illegal foreign objects and cradle says to route. Hey now you need to go check him out. I want you to go check him. And then you got tire. Say a social distancing. Come on now. Give me my space. You're like nah. Nah nah come on. Now come on now seriously. So i like how tires was playing with the referee there And taking little little verbal jabs fact. I remember early on there right before he came to try to check up on tyrod tires even sits ref what you never done this before. Homeless your problem. So and they got all the guys around the ring laughing and all that just the way. That referee pretty much just came away from cradles and then got done check in on tires and then saying let's wrestle.

"Now move the sticks with daniel jeremiah and bucky brooks. What's up everybody walking to move the sticks. Dj bucky back with your buck. How you doing. Ma'am i am good. This is a fantastic part of the year. I noticed sports schedule is all walk because of the you were reacting to the pandemic lash but to be able to see nhl nba baseball in everything. Kinda come together at one time. I think it's been a fascinating study. So i think is a great time. If you're a sports fan. I don't know if he gets much better than where we at right now. In the middle of the summer once we see football kickoff. We got some some good things to touch on today. We're going to hit on an akil hairy trade request. It's going to go back. Which is always good thing to do. Go back in time to when he was coming into the draft. What did we think about him. Strengths weaknesses in whether or not this could work for him somewhere else. It hasn't necessarily work there in new england. Then want to talk about the quarterback position and some new contracts that could be on the horizon here. What we think should be the best pathway forward for the teams in that regard and also some position battles in the afc but before we get to all that stuff. You just mentioned. We just wrapped up a hockey season. And i know you've done a little homework here. On how the tampa bay lightning have been built team coming off back to back. Nhl stanley cup titles here. So what did you learn you know. Dj is funny right because look we love talking about football. But i think we're in the team building. Culture building Studying process. And i think when you think about the tampa bay lightning they will go down as one of the best dynasties that we've seen in recent memory. This is a team that has not only won back to back stanley cup. Titles but they've been a dominant team. I want to say. Seventy playoff wins over the last seven seasons their team. That is enjoying a that. I mean we really haven't seen in a long long time and so whenever you have that kind of success. I think you try to figure out what they are doing. That teams or general managers in house for can take and move forward to maybe create their own dynasty or have they're all successful runs and so there are three things that i stole or that i learned from the tampa bay. Lightning front the first. One patients pays off When you think about their coach. Jon cooper is the longest tenured coach. Nhl he has a what they call they. Points percentage of six six four seven. It ranks second all time. Behi scotty bowman and even though you would think like we'll of course they're gonna keep a coach who's been that successful when you go back and look. Dj twenty fifteen. They lost the stanley cup finals. Two thousand sixteen to eighteen. They lost in the eastern conference finals in seven game series twenty nineteen. They had the best record in the nhl and they were swept the first round. And so when you think about the knee-jerk reaction because we kind of talked about this on the podcasts. The other day how more teams need the exhibit patients. This is a team that after that failure in twenty nineteen. They could move on from the coach and blue team because they had a five game a five-year run where they couldn't necessarily get it done but because they stayed the course they now rewarded with back to back titles and they have an opportunity to really be maybe a dominant team for the next two or three years because he understands how to get it done and they have a level of consistency s stability within the organization that all of the pieces fit..

"Alright everyone. I'm here with clinton bets. The ceo of silicon slopes clint. Thanks for joining us. Honored to be here. Billy big fat of chat funnels demand giant jan summit. Two thousand twenty. You know twenty twenty s weird here. We are at an event. And you know. I'm just doing it from this desk. Where i kinda do everything so honored to be here my friend. Well it's an honor to have you clint. So let's get into it. I tell us just a little bit about yourself. I'm a lifelong you. John for what that's worth. I don't know that people care about that too much i sure. Do i have four children. I'm married. I live in southern utah. County i believe utah counties better than salt lake county for those watching. I will a non just getting. I don't care. And yeah. I started my career. I went to Actually owned a deli for while when i was super yang school got a journalism degree. Recommend anyone do that kind of pointless. Degree and i worked at a software development firm with a couple of buddies where we help build startups early stage products and then and then inside of that Software development firm we launched a little blog called beehive startups which became a pretty big community platform. And then You know more recently over the past five six years. I've been the executive director of silicon slopes which is a five one c three nonprofit. And we put that together. After you know behi- startups two guys. Traction and josh james and i started talking and then we started talking to ryan. Smith is to ceo quality and erin stoddard ceo plural. Cy and dave elkton. Who was the ceo of inside sales at the time about what it would mean to bring the community all underneath one umbrella. So here we are in you guys have done a great job with that So tell me about the silken slopes model. Clint while the consults model i believe is a little bit different than other profit models. I think as you look at it. And i think it applies to any business not just nonprofits because i don't know that we run. It necessarily even like a nonprofit to be honest with you although have being a five one. C three is important to us and there are aspects of it. That are very nonprofit. -i the silicon psalms model. I think a lot of people. If you're just a part of the tech scene or you're not part of utah in particular you may view it as like another chamber of commerce almost that kind of advocates for various tech issues Behind closed doors and has kind of these Events that you have to pay to go to and you can only attend if you remember anything like that was actually exact opposite of all of that We want it to be open and accessible to wall Everyone who wants to be a part of the community we believe has every right to be a part in community and should be part of the consultants community and so given that that was a stance that we took early on that we wanted the organization to be open accessible to all we landed on this model. The i believe many of the people who are watching would be interested in in particular as it pertains to how do you build a community around your brand. How do you build a community around a certain topic. And how do you do in a way. That's actually authentic and doesn't come across as though it's authentic but is indeed authentic and so what. We landed on his three buzzwords. To be honest with you billy And so what we say is silicon slopes five one c three nonprofit that empowers utah startup tech community to learn connect and serve. And when you hear learn connect are you likely like most people say those three words who cares right. And you know there's truth to that even but what's behind those for us and what we've built around these three words in these three pillars within our organization is the entire reason why we've seen any success if we seen any at all and i believe it's The way communities should be bill. Just my own opinion. And so i'll go through what each of these Three pillars mean to us as an organization and those watching kind of think about how they could apply at least some of these aspects within their own companies organizations so the first is learnt right And when we say learn silicon slopes what we're talking about is stories and what we're talking about is media and what we're talking about is Letting the community know what's happening and that's critical and i'm gonna talk Probably go pretty deep on stories Here a little bit later but when we say learn it's silicon slopes what we mean. Is we want you to know everything happening within the silicon silicon slopes community. And we want you to have plenty of resources available to you. It's not just news. Although that's that's a very big piece of it it's not just media and it's not just stories but it's also helping and empowering people to learn how to be better within the industry Better within their particular profession

We play is this any day I will write a couple different stories by you, You way up throws you way up the cons, and you tell all of us if it's anything or not. We start with this 22 year old dude in Hawaii recently found a woman's wallet and rode his child sized bike six miles to give it back door. So people in the community thought well, that's really cool, So they rewarded him by pulling all their money together and they bought him a car. He ended up with the 2017 Volkswagen Jetta are always expect someone to do the right thing like just to do the honorable thing. That's the main thing, and he's like, no, no, no, You know what it's like. I just wanted to return it before the holidays. Was humble. He was kind. He went out of his wages to do a nice gesture. I made a Facebook post that just wanted to show the aloha moment. No words can truly explain on feeling right now. You know, it wasn't my year. You know, I'm not the richest guy on the planet, but it showed me that there is still hope. Exactly still hope, and it shows that wasn't all bad in 2020. There is a lot of crappy stuff that happened. But, man, I think one of the good things is that we saw a positive humanity. We saw people helping other people. We saw neighbors helping neighbors. Hell here in Central Indy. We raise $360,000 for the Salvation Army during the WNBC radio thon, a record number and that was not us working. That's Pete. That's our listeners that Z Hoosiers and and I think more of these positive stories. I need to be highlighted for 2020. This is something I'm with you 100%, But I'm not gonna lie to you. Every time I hear a story about an adult jumping on a kid's bike and going for a ride. I just think about the 40 year old virgin like toward the end of the movie jumping on that little bike eyes got that. You know, he to the moments playing in the background. That's what I think about Steve Girl. Yes, okay. Is this anything? A British newscaster presented his package of video highlights of 2020 and put it on the air. It was zero seconds long because 2026 is going to show you very special program. We've put up the highlights of 2020. Let's just have a look exactly. It's farewell, 2020. Let's join our colleagues. Oh, I mean, whatever. Look, I don't have the attitude that everything's gonna be hunky Dorey in 2021, man, just by virtue of the fact that 2020 is over. I've got bad news for body is not going to solve your problems. You know that one of the lottery tonight, Nigel might go to hell. What I'm saying is, I'm going to determine my attitude in my worth in my Ability to persevere and move forward through the things that I can control. 2020 was tough, but man, there was some awesome stuff that happened in 2020, considering expectations, right sports for one smart, like helping to bring in some normalcy this year. Uh, I think sports was a huge deal. Credit to the MLB N behi School football in Indiana and across the, uh, nation where high school football is allowed to take place college football. NFL all completed regular seasons. I think there was a huge accomplishment considering the expectations. Just make a list of bad things and positive things that happen to you, 2020. I'm sure there's some bad stuff certainly are so bad stuff on my end, but like like positives for me, I like I got to spend more time with my kids. In the spring, I was able to actually go to Florida with my family, as were you during the peak. Down there. Um, my mom went with us. Blessed we're blessed unfortunates to be able to come back and work. Hell, my household. Survived. Cove it I don't think I've mentioned this previously on the air, but remember when I had to spend two weeks in the closet hammer? Yes, sir. Knight and I had said it was because I had Close contact with a family member. The tested positive that family member was my wife. I didn't say that. I don't. This is the first time I've said this on the air. My wife's private person. It's been a couple months now on the mind. Oh, my God. We mean she was laid up sick in bed for days. And, um, we got through it. We we, as many tens of thousands of other Hoosiers had to do the same thing. So, you know, back in November on the day of our our Super Bowl, the election Hammer. I remember I had to call you had to call our boss. You guys were awesome about it. It was like I just hope you know, Tell your wife get better soon, and you know, we'll set it up. You'll do the show from home for a couple of weeks. And I was very fortunate to be able to do that. Not everybody could work from home. I know that, but we got through a pretty bad cove. It episode in my household. It wasn't one of these things where you know some people who will say Yeah, just the positive for covert and Have like I felt like I had a head cold. You know, it's right. It wasn't one of those things. My house. I was I was a little worried. I mean, there's like she's 103 to 503.5 degree temperature. Got Iran some hydroxy clerk. I actually now then this and they're just got on a Z. Pak and her doctor told her to hit it with the Advil and Tylenol every four hours and my only concern was that like I was going to get it to and be laid up, and there's nobody around to watch the kids. But Never had any symptoms. I know my kids never had any symptoms, and we got through it. So yeah, 2020 sucked. But man, that's why I think there was I want. Everybody should should make a list of positive things that happened in their life in 2020 and focus on that. And don't let the fact that it's just 2021. That's going to solve everything. No, you have a lot to personally do with the way your life's gonna go in 2021. I think I speak on behalf of all of the Hammer and Nigel Show listeners when we say How did you not get it? I look whole people. You have the immune system off a toddler whose skin is made of paper, and you did not get it. Here's the thing. I don't know if I got it or not. I was I was sharing a bed with now. Once once my wife would she tested positive in November? Slept in the bunk beds for about eight days. Just let her have right. She stayed in the master bedroom. And we were lucky because that was the week that it was like 70 degrees day after day after day, so she would come down and with her mask and plastic gloves on and lay in the driveway to soak up the vitamin D, But she had a fight with a fat tire biker like Fredo dead. No, we did not leave that Nobody left. But I don't know if I got it or not, because I asked my doctor ago. So how does it work? Now? Do the do I go get tested, or he goes Look, You know if you're gonna quarantine for 14 days, which that was the maximum back then, then you know there's there's really no point and I never had symptoms. So who knows if I had it or not? The Hammer and Nigel Show. We're coming right back this morning, Jen.

Start documenting what you're already doing so if you're all my fitness coach, what that looks like? What are you eating on a daily basis? And what are you doing for your workouts? And what is your daily mindset? Mindset ritual. Look like, but I see a lot of online coaches that are actually struggling to create content because they're waiting the reason a lot of on night coaches are creating content is because they're waiting for x to happen before they can start putting himself other social media. It's like you guys know you WanNa make ten thousand dollars a month, but you're waiting until I do this thing before I create my content. See a couple years ago. Guys! I've been waiting until I graduate and I have more time to commit to my fitness business I've been waiting to save up until I have enough money to hire a mentor I've been waiting to post stuff on social media until I build up and following. The days of unlimited pandemic internet are over
"The days of pandemic related unlimited Internet access are apparently over. From American public media, this is marketplace tech I'm Ali would. We've been looking on our show lately. At how amidst this pandemic? The Internet is everything access and cost our problems for many people, but what about data lots of broadband providers limit how much data users can use each month go over, and there are extra fees some lifted these caps at the start of the pandemic, but as of July first comcast at and T. and T. mobile have brought back some of their data caps Tom Merritt host. The Daily Tech News Show podcast I asked him. What was the argument for data caps? If you ask the marketing departments of ISP's. They'll tell you that data caps make it a fair playing ground for everyone so that all the bits don't get used up by really really greedy people and there is a very slight truth that if a lot of people were using a lot of the Internet at the same time, it can cause some congestion, but it's not like there's a limited amount of bits the. The real justification is that they want ways to price things to encourage people to want to pay more and data caps are a way that people can understand. Oh, if I use more data I, pay more okay. I get it on some level. I can see that being a slightly reasonable argument like there is no other service. Where if you use more, you don't pay more right, or is this true lease artificial? I think the disconnect. Because even though the government assures us, it's not a utility. People think of the Internet is a utility. The the difference comes in the justification. If as just said yeah, we're just like that. I think fewer people would have an issue, but the ISP trying to argue that they're fighting congestion just really doesn't hold water. When you do examinations of congestion, they generally happen at peak use times whether there are data caps are not data kept supply all day long, so they don't really. Encourage people not to use data at the times were congestion might be caused and they don't. It sounds like you're also saying they don't improve service for everyone. The congestion still occurs. It's just that some people have to pay correct. Yeah, that that that prime time congestion anybody especially on cable ISP has run into it when everybody gets home specially at a time when everybody is home and fires up there video APPs data caps. Don't matter data caps. Don't keep people from. From doing things at the same time they keep people from using their data at other times. When congestion is less likely to occur, we're also at a time. When the pandemic is not over, and in fact, people need arguably unfettered. Internet access more than ever. Is this just bad timing I? Think probably what's happening is the companies are feeling a bottom line pinch as well and all of their business models are based on charging. People for more data. Use so giving away. Service without a data cap means there's less reason for somebody to upgrade to a larger package if that's how their business is created. If your ISP is built on this, you're making less money at a time. When the economy's bad, probably more people are canceling service, and you're looking for ways to bring in that money, so if they can quietly just let the data caps kick back in then that might help them whether the storm. We should say that at least you know. Comcast's CAP is one point two terabytes, which is a lot right. What would you have to do as a household to hit that cap? I don't have numbers. At the ready but you have to have a lot of people downloading A lot of things were streaming. A lot of you know high definition. Four K. video and honestly data caps. It's always in the best interests of ISP's to have data caps Behi- enough that they only affect a certain number of people. You want them to be high. Because you don't want to have people suddenly decide will. This is unusable right and you don't want to have public backlash saying I keep running into this data cap I can't even use it to watch Netflix. Et Cetera, because he is, he's no that that people are using their internet to to watch streaming video to do high bandwidth applications so you WanNa? Keep it just high. High enough that you get the users that might be willing to pay to to pay for that. It also does have some uses in making it easier to go after the folks who do abuse the network and and run things on the network that it's not designed to do. like massive bitor and operations or or or cryptocurrency stuff without having to define them it makes it easier for enforcement, so so those two things are probably what's driving this and keeping folks happy means that that data cap needs to apply only to a minority of your customers.
Bride's Pool: a Tragic Tale
"Northeast Hong Kong in a park called plover cove lies the bride's pool. Aw a popular tourist destination. It is also among the most haunted spots in the region visitors to the bride's pool often report sightings writings of a lonely spirit a bride weeping for her loss. Chance at love some say. She's a cursed figure who appears to lonely only people looking for a companion for her morning soul others say she's a blessing for those looking to fall in love whatever omen when she represents death and injury often follow in her. Wake through direct or indirect means FIS legs pumped furiously at his bicycle wheels and a grin spread over his face. Despite the blistering heat it causing sweat too poor donnas back. It was already a painfully hot summer but he sped away from the school as fast as he could. He did not want to waste a single second of his month. Long break near that building on each side. The trees flew by in a flurry of green. He almost whoop with joy but wisely kept his mouth shut to make sure not to swallow bugs when you arrived home fiset. His bicycle aside and ran in in pausing only to remove shoes at the door final at his bed and removed a poster beneath it turning it over to inspect the image on the flip side. It was a painting. He had made an art class one so close to his heart that he did not even show what you as parents. It depicted a girl. Oh Jong Li the most beautiful girl. He knew she was one grade ahead of him but lived only a short bike ride away their fathers. This had been friends since they were in the army together so it seemed like fate that he would fall in love with her. He examined his handiwork handshaking with anticipation nation. Today's the day on the very bottom of the canvas was a simple poem. He had written himself one that he was quite proud of love. It said is like clearstream perfect and blue. You are like a dream. My heart was made for you. Oh he had to give this to her before she left to study abroad in the United States. She had to know how I felt about her. And maybe he he would go and join her in a year or two fi carefully wrapped the candidates in paper tying a string around it as gently as he could. He took a deep breath and looked at himself in the mirror. For boy is seventeen. He did not look so bad. His mother always said he was handsome. But you could never trust smothers about these things. He wondered for a moment if we could tell that he liked her. You would know soon enough. He ran back toward the door. His mother the call after a messy past but he did not notice her is attention was entirely focused on Lee and even as he rode his bicycle down. The road painting tucked carefully under his arm. He could see her face in his mind cy why he tried to imagine how she would react to such a present which is smile fondly. Plant a kiss on his cheek or would she be disgusted. It never want to see him again. He shook his head to clear that thought from his mind. They were friends after all then regardless of how she felt about him they they would remain friends. Fi was shaken out of his daydream. By an unexpected sound. It sounded like a grown woman. Woman crying not slowing is my cicle. He looked toward the trees speeding past him. He saw nothing but the evening sun flickering between the branches watches suddenly a flash of red appeared among the forest. It was a woman an ornate Crimson dress pointing being a finger at him her eyes or hidden behind a veil of black hair. An instant later the woman was gone. Curiosity getting the better of him fi stopped and dismounted the bike. He took a few steps into the woods and stared searching. Shing the trees for the strange woman. All he heard was the sound of a nearby waterfall he saw no sign of the woman at all he shivered and checked his wrapped painting to make sure the wrapping had not come loose says he rode the wrapping. Paper was only slightly crinkled after spending ten minutes tucked under his arm. A few beads of sweat landed on the paper from his brow. He wiped them away with the dry part of his shirt. He would not forgive himself. He let his sweat stain. This gift five mounted his bike and was about to press his foot down when a chill passed along spine. He held up the parcel Dan. The era rounded seem to Shimmer like Mirage and something about it felt different somehow like the insides of the package were writing his hands. He gently Lee unwrapped. It is drawing was still there but instead of the happy smile. He painted her with John. Lee Warren expression of shock. Doc Mouth agape an eyes bulging strokes of blue and black paint course their way around here on the canvas rippling like the surface this up a pond. With a shock he realized why her expression unsettled. And so it was the face of drown girl But that was not the only change that had befallen his artwork. The paper was now stained with dark spots as if whoever was was revising his drawings had cried while doing so raging fear bubbled up within five gut. Why had someone done done this to his present? And how have they done it without him. Noticing Fi grip the canvas and the sides of the image edge began to crinkle beneath the ghastly. Image of Lee was poem but the tear stains blocked out most of the words. The ones wants that remained. Read a clearstream perfect made for you. Fi- looked up up to see the red spirit again gliding through the grass toward him. It's space was black and featureless but both its hands reached out toward him clawlike grasping by drop. The note and leaped onto was bicoastal pumping the pedals until as caps ached desperate to get away. He noticed the car's headlights split-second before they were upon him buys body was thrown from the bicycle and onto the rough the pavement. He rolled several feet before stopping. The world was upside down. Fading in and out his entire your body felt raw and out of the corner of his eye he could see a crimson path at down the asphalt where he enrolled at the end of that was the car that struck him pulled onto the side of the road through the haze he saw the door open. John Lee stepped out of it. She stood stock still for a moment gazing with horror upon his broken body then she rushed to aside tears swelling up in her eyes distantly as he slipped into unconsciousness fi wished he had not left his painting. Behi- Bride's Pool Road is known as one of the most dangerous roadways in Hong Kong particularly clearly infamous. Stretch of the road is known as deadly curve. Due to the number of accidents that occur in that particular spot after dark cars. The tour buses and bicycles have been known to spin out of control on the narrow roadway or collide with oncoming traffic recently deadly Lee curb was added to Hong Kong's list of black spots or roadways that are abnormally unsafe for drivers now. It may just be a coincidence that so how many deaths and injuries happen the road by bride's pool or it could be that the bride herself causes these accidents as retribution for her own suffering
