"That stole christmas gift. Sad or the frothy the beerman gift set from duke cannon the dudes young and old and your wife will appreciate you find these duke. Cannon gift sets in the men's grooming section at target today for only twenty dollars each are right back to our show. I really appreciate the type of relationship that you gave us with nina tom because sometimes in relationship like this we get these big huge wild kind of personalities like just sort of pension for crazy adventure or risk taking arguing. That big character to kind of work off against but i really appreciated. How will. Tom keeps calling himself ordinary that his siblings or more adventurous than he is. He called himself normal. And of course we know how nina feels about simple ordinary life. And i liked that. I liked that you nestled this relationship between two ordinary people that one of them isn't like super spectacular or over the top even kind of dragging the other one to a different kind of energy but they match the ns. Kind of what you said. How did you say it. Nita said tom that being with him was as good as being alone which was a really great line. Yeah is my thing. So yeah i mean i think that a lot of the big romance in the world is between regular folks it really is the sweet deep love and affection. You feel for someone. Did you feel super comfortable with and who you feel sees you as you really are and isn't really demanding anything enormously painful of you but is just trying to meet you where you stand that to me is big rats like that is true love. It is not you know. I'm all for running through the airport. Seen as the next woman and i'm thinking of putting a running through the airport scene at the end the curb but for example. Just because i enjoyed that trip. You know. And i love those big moments. But i find so much pleasure in this moments that i think that should be celebrated as well like relationships where you know you hang out and watch sports together..

"It's not about being still being quiet having a blank. Adhd i mind still. Meditation is the practice of bringing your mind back to center in pam grout. She wrote the book east squared and she talks about. She talks about about blake. Your mind is like a puppy like your train your mind you gently brown here. Poppy bring your mind back over here. This is where you belong right and you just do it. You just you gently without beating yourself up and just bring it back. Remind back it. It's really in then when you are able to to have that quiet time. Your mind isn't on a hamster wheel again. You can let it get on the hamster wheel but it gives us a chance to stop a beautiful beautiful. And i didn't realize i used to just do the the okay lane here. A lotta lila. It'd be over. And then. I realized oh no. I really need this. I really need this in my life and as moms with all of the things that we have going on in our lives. Yeah even one minute. i was doing when i really started doing. Meditation was when my kids were really really little. I had two under two. And i was at a lot going on. Yeah when deepak chopra when he first started doing these twenty one day meditations he had this to facilitator david j on their end he david g i remember him saying an was ten twelve years ago that even a thimble full of stillness mum is also down realized. Oh yeah so. I don't have to try to be still and i. I'm not going to base still alice still my for thirty minutes. I don't have any interested in it at this moment but in i don't need it. Yeah that is really cool. I like that yeah. I i think there's a reason why i wanted you want. It's just to make this so easy for people and break it down. Because i do think like what you were saying about Yoga before that. If you couldn't do it the whole time you're not going to do it. And i think that's it really. That really screwed people up because then they in all or nothing. Rude it just. It's not it doesn't serve you you know. It really doesn't. And so. I do want to jump into the last thing. And that's journaling and this is another practice that i've had to slowly start and this year i started it. It's definitely not where you would like it. So i'm always like coming back to it. I don't know why. I resist it so much. But it's one of those things that i'm mike. Okay i think if i do it. It's really going to help me and you know those things like the things that you need to do you. Kind of resist yes. So that's this for me. And but i do think i see the benefit in it and i see that other people that do it it really helps them helps them to kind of process their thoughts into the thoughts. Just keep circling and circling. And all that kind of stuff. And i i wanted to ask you like how you got into journaling. Did you love journaling from the beginning. And what what does that look like now. And why do you find it beneficial so i. I was kind of where you are years ago. I've always had journals but it would fill them full of all. That was wrong with my life. And not all the time. Usually when i was just you know when i was in tears or just right right right right right And it was helpful to get it out of my head onto paper. But i didn't really feel like it was. It was helping me move asked i maybe it was help healing a little bit but and then like i mentioned earlier. I learned how to live a vision driven life. And what would i do. Is i teach moms. I teach women how to decide what they want right. We're very clear especially right now in this year. We're very clear about what we don't want right. But so i talked to. I help them to create a vision and of what of what they really want of what they truly want. Regardless of circumstances you know what with what is really coming from their hearts and so this is what i do. I do and i'm not perfect. I'm not saying that they do all of this. And that i'm perfect but now i love to do my journaling because i'm writing my vision every day. I'm writing what i want. I'm writing the woman that then becoming. Yeah and it's a really different way. It's still look Journalists in like ooh that's full of bad stuff. And why would i want to pick that up. It's full of now. I do do some mind work to and and kind of kind of Doing a thought framework sure changing thoughts finding thoughts that feel good. I do that in my journal as well but really for the most part. I'm connecting with that vision. A columbia coming. That's how yeah. I think that's great Okay i wanted to ns. Because this. i. I've been asking the other moms that i've been interviewing during this on for this timeframe for going into the holidays What is the one thing that you really love doing. During the holiday season to kind of take care of yourself on a daily basis yeah and this is another thing that i learned. All those years ago Is that i need to. I take myself on a little solo on our little ones. You know then this now you know i just go to a of ben breakfast or a An airbnb you know we. We have a lake house now. We ever going to the lake house by myself but a realized i used to do it in january after the holidays. Were only yeah ono. I need to do it before. To preview right. Yeah i'll it. Mid november sometimes early december two to kind of build up reserves. I can make it through the holidays. I think especially this year in in. So maybe we're not doing lots of traveling Other little things that you could do even just going to a friend's house and can i can use a room or is to get away. I think this year is allowing Us to be very creative. So that is that. Is the number one. Most important thing thing that i do during the holidays or before the holidays to to her myself care. That is awesome. Yeah 'cause i do. I think you know obviously not everyone has lake house. Not everyone can get away. But i think kind of what you're saying is if just to find somewhere or even if it's just to go to a coffee house or something like if you can't be gone the whole day or whatever to maybe just set yourself up to having that time away from the house away from everyone on monday. Yeah my mom. Hey your mom day. Exactly so i love that. Well tracy. I have had so much fun having you on the show and i know this is really going to help. Moms kind of start thinking about what they can do to take care of themselves and it doesn't have to be this whole elaborate routine. That is daunting and the non achievable so. "You mean. Yeah yoga is so much more than it's not. Just the austin. Ah it's it's it's out meditation. So they're eight limbs of yoga and breathing breath work out. Gallium is one. And it's called. Diana which is meditation And the osma. So it's not just the the senate and it's not just i spent many years trying to To make myself look like the women on yoga journal. And i realized guess what he is like your own thing would you of it. There is a yoga with adrian. She has an amazing following and she has you name it the kind of the. Maybe you wanna work on hips or or you just want to. You know you wanna little stress relief. She has i think they they range anywhere from five minutes to ninety minutes a while. They'll all kinds of. Yeah that's cool now. There are so many different ways that yoga yoga is amazing. I've done all kinds of different things over the past almost thirty years and i always come back to my match. Now i'm i learned that that That the meditation that the peaceful the mind part you know the being still is more important for me but then there are other people that the awesome is more important than that is just. It's really self-awareness. Amber yoga yoga is the best way that i know to up to really become aware of yourself and so you mentioned when we when we first spoke about the twenty minutes of yoga everyday will change your life. Yeah now but i want to break that down a little bit. Because they in in my morning so i do my thirty minute walk. I do about ten minutes of yoga in the morning. Do thirty. I don't do an hour. I don't do an hour. And a half i used to before i had kids rate but not now. Yeah me a while to realize that. I don't need to do that that i can do. It works for me you know. I used to be the if. I'm not going to do the whole thing. I'm not gonna do now. Eight or up and it just hurts me. That doesn't work out really well. Yeah really workout. Variable especially i mean you know i have to get up early to for this hour of of my own right. Yoga yoga's amazing and so in in the meditation is in their shoes tenets of yoga tenants. Ten minutes of meditation which is the next rate daily. Yeah and and so. I wanted to talk about that really quick. Well let me back up for a second so if people were kind of talking about yoga and they wanna do the movement part because maybe they got the meditation down pat or they're just like okay. I can do the meditation easily. But i would love to be more connected with my body and and kind of do more stretching of the body and stuff like that on. What would you say is the easiest way to get started where it doesn't seem super overwhelming. Would it be the videos that you just said. Yoga go by l. drian. I think right now to if you if you researcher local yoga studios yeah i would. I would bet that they have online yoga right now. I think that everybody gets the seasons changing now. A lot of them are doing an outside. Oh yeah that's cool while it here's a little bonus to for all of those years of yoga people used to say. Oh my gosh look at your arms you must you to tweets and never lifted a weight in my life. Don't like wait. Yeah but it really. It really helps you to feel solid in your body as well what. I'm doing my little ten minute routine in the morning. Is i just do. I do some what you wanna do. Yoga helps you do is with the stretching is you to move the synovium fluid which which is kind of lubricates your joints so i just kind of go through my whole body move my fingers and my wrists and my feet in that i do. Six sun salutations I do apple. Tree poses tree poses. Actually you can relate at yoga relates to life to yoga are tree poses as a really good balancing post so if you're balancing on the mat and i'm starting my day with balance and it helps to bring into your life as well so just it's interesting as well as those. Those standing the grounding poses like the mountains impose which what is a solid pose. Yeah that a some hippo owners. 'cause yeah states. Yeah and that's ten minutes. It's not. It's not a lot. And i do it myself but you can. I would try. Yoga adrian nothing. She's fantastic. She's fun and she's funny and she you know she's all about doing what works for you. Yeah that is really cool okay. So we're going to jump into meditation. And so actually started this in twenty twenty in january. And i used head space. I really just like the australian guy And i really like I lived in australia. So i don't know i kind of like i am like oh yes like. I gravitate towards australian people. And so i like that. There's like you'd literally could you one minute meditation. Which for me. Absolutely so good for me because i think a lot of people are just kind of like. Oh my gosh. Like how. Am i going to sit here and try to push all the thoughts away that keep coming and i'm just trying to you know. Sit here with my fingers together. And i i don't know and and so i was like you know what i'm going to challenge myself. I'm gonna try the free trial. See how i like it. And i think just having the option that i could do it in a minute i could do it three minutes. I could also do it in ten minutes and longer And then i also late how he talks and then he also. Let's go silent. I i liked that. So what i'm trying to say is i have not been a person who gravitated towards meditation but i figured out a way that i really did like an kind of wind down my day. 'cause i would do it at the end of the day and so i'm curious. What have you found with meditation. That has made such a big impact in why you think it's so great to do it daily so i call meditation of mental hygiene. So it's taking care of your mind. You know we give our bodies a break with with sleep. Sleep is not the same you know. Sleep sleep is a different. If is not the same as mental hygiene meditate meditation. Meditation is being is being still but being being still and quiet and being awake bright. But it's a mental hygiene allows yourself allows your mind to stop right because when when we are when our minds are going going going. It's it's just it's kind of it's it's a it it. It's like a like a hamster wheel right. Yeah but if we if we allow ourselves even a minute like you were saying or three minutes. Yeah to just practice meditation. Meditation is a practice. It's not about being still. It's not about having a blank mind for thirty minutes. That is not. That is the misconception about meditation. I think you you learned that.

"To the the greenway when hand on my morning i just i got up and walked for thirty minutes and honestly i got a fitbit a couple years ago ends and if i do a thirty minute walk in the morning and then i have a hula-hoop to which i love i am. I do a thirty minute. Walk in the morning and do three rounds of ten minutes of hula hooping. I've got ten thousand steps right so they talk about the ads. Yeah ten thousand steps. The walking is amazing for your mind body and soul. It's also when you know. I cut alternate but i use those times to listen to your show amber morning. You know when you think when you think. Wow i don't have i don't how could a hat find the time ready. Yeah well you can. Yes you do it doubly right. I also not in the morning. But sometimes i'll do a walk and talk with a french right. I'm getting exercise and walking as well. So walking is really underrated. I agree i really do. I wanna ask you about hula hooping. So my my youngest. She's six she's pretty good at it on. But i might i might. There must be technique. So i'm curious. Do you like hula hooping. Because you're just like hey. I just like a hula hoop or re like okay. There's a benefit of hula hooping. So what is it what what made you sir hula hooping. So it was both street. Air matters six seven years ago with my kids and this there there was this one and they had all these loops on the floor on the ground and they were those the nice ones you know. The big one side signed probably paid sixty dollars for my hula-hoop okay. And it needs to be heavy and big for realize this. Okay see this is good for me. A little plastic ones are. They're not they're not going to do the same thing anyway. This guy taught me how to hula-hoop in the street at the st fair. And i thought oh my gosh i am go. So we have this place called cirque du ball in they They teach like aerial arts. Yeah yeah yeah. So they teach the silks and they have hulu. My daughter had a party there. And i bought one and i use it all the time. I love my hope. And so i do it for fun because you know i've also learned that i need to add fun into every day. Yeah and the health benefits. I didn't really. i didn't realize it until i was. I got my fitbit. And i thought and i realized oh. Wow hits burning calories counting calories yes so what is it about. The big is so fast. Does it need to be big or is it more that it's heavy. I think both okay. Do you know what it is about it the heaviness that helps it so people are listening if they wanna go by a heavy hulu. I don't know exactly amber okay. That's important. I think that it is that you know the cheap ones that you get that you my daughter has. I can't even keep that up. I mean i'm just like. I don't know what what's happening here at the third light. Yeah they're i think the the the one that i have is made of pvc pipe. Oh okay interesting. Yeah so it's heavy. It's not gonna it's not going to buckle. Oh yeah all right. Yeah i've had that experience. I've found Videos on youtube. Yeah you might even if you did some research gary level. Who if you love it. Yeah and that's another important thing to do things that are fun. You know not just like torturing yourself kinda like you were saying what they're running some people really really do love to run and so they If you realize like what. I'm doing i don't even love it then. You probably need to kind of reevaluate. What you're doing because you know life is not just about checking off task. You know you need to be enjoying life. You know what what do you like to do. What is fun and and figure out what that looks like. So but yes. Walking is underrated but it is so easy to do so affordable and. I think it's great. Where yes you can always walk. Yeah i agree. So that's perfect. Okay so you mentioned yoga when you were talking about your son. And when he was three. So i feel like yoga can come across as like hippy. Leg in wu and people are like what does the yoga is and and they're just kind of like It's just not my thing right. And then or some people are like. I'm not flexible. I don't even know like i. If i can do this and stuff like that and i don't i also don't think people realize like that. The moves in in certain. Yoga poses are so beneficial to us. I don't even think people naturally lake understand that. I only understand that from some of the yoga. That i've taken over the years i will say is if you're not super flexible. Some things are super challenging and it can be frustrating. And so so i want to hear your thoughts on yoga in why is so important and so that if a mom was listening to this and they kind of have felt intimidated by yoga. Or there's like. Oh so wu. Like what is this really going to do. I'm just like sitting here. Bending myself i want to hear your experience and your thoughts and why you think it's good for us. I love yoga amber yoga. So i've been doing yoga for almost thirty years. Wow i started doing it i. I started doing yoga. When i was in i was i was having some difficulty in my life. I just kind of again follow the yellow brick road in found this. Of course i found the most amazing yoga ever when i was living in atlanta and And it taught me to be in my body for one thing. Because i'm i'm a. I'm all over the place in my mind and it really. Yoga really helps you to be to connect that mind body and soul in. It's not do you know. I mean these days you can find yoga the gym. Yeah my my sister is now doing it and she is. She's doing at the gym and she she she just did a twenty one day a twenty one day yoga challenged. Wow but for me. I know and i've been doing it for you know. Hey that never pushed it on anybody. I learned a long time ago. Not pushing and there are so many different ways that in different different types of yoga that you can do you find what works for you. Now i would too when i moved to raleigh i I searched and searched for yoga instructor. That fit me and i i. i'm just. I'm not a gym. I get my walking. I moved constantly might always moving. I walk. I'm i don't have a problem with movement but what the helps me do is to be still and to be to calm my mind. Yeah and yeah. And i ended up doing a Issuing cut a for myself but julia on nine months yoga teacher training. Wow that was like changing in. And that's what. I learned that we did yoga every single day and i never. I don't teach. I teach parts of it in my coaching. But i i don't teach you know. I don't teach austin. Ah which is the The postures pose a movement out. Is that what.

"Yeah we all about it. Yeah yeah. And i just went to kabul last year and i stayed at multiple resource to check them out and it was. It was fabulous so anyway. Okay i say this. On every episode. I could keep talking about travel so i always have to cut myself off so anyways. Let's jump into the show. And how about you share with us. What your name is where you live. How many kids you have and you just told us that they're ten eleven so i'm assuming you just have to But how about you can go ahead and share that with us when you tell us more by yourself. Yeah i'm tracy nolan bearman and i live in raleigh north carolina and my kids are actually eleven and a half in thirteen. Now they were. They were ten eleven ten eleven when we went out when we went to universal. Have a boy and a girl. My my boys my oldest and they are my greatest teachers amber. I believe four. Yeah yeah okay so one thing that stood out to me when we were talking about you. Coming out of this show is some things that you like to do on a daily basis and why i wanted to have you on the show leading to the holidays is because i think that this will really help moms you know. Just kind of set up their day and not be so frazzled. And you know you adding in covina on top of it. All you know andrew adding an election so there's a lot going on and so i'm just kind of like what can i do to help all these moms out there and you know just kind of get them through the season and have a great time and not be super stress so how. 'bout you share with us before we jump into all those details. How will you share with us. How you got to where you are today. Yeah sure so. When when my son was about three years old. I noticed that he was exhibiting. Some of my least favorite character traits of pessimism in negatively and self loathing in a free rolled my tension. I had at that point. I have been doing yoga for maybe twelve fifteen years. I thought i was the send person. But i was hot mass and he was mirroring all of it i. I realized that he was getting it from me. Wonder in the world can a three zero How does he. How does he know enough about himself. To not like himself and it wasn't him it was me he was his a really we. We joe consider who was born forty and sole right so he was just reading me like a book and he was just he was just showing me. Exactly you know on the outside i was. I was the mom. And i was on things and i was happy on the outside on the inside. It was a hot mess so it that was kind of that that was the pivotal moment for me where i started pulling apart my life and In changing everything and right around. That time i learned how to live at a vision driven life and ended up becoming a life coach. And and and here. I am today But that's a little backstory. How i you know i i. I realized that. I need to change the legacy need to. I want to change the legacy Stops with me. I kids are going variance. Something very different than i did And so that meant that had to make big change in my life. Yeah now you said you wanted to live a vision driven life. Is that what you said just to make. Sure your data driven life and that's one of the things. One of the one of the one of the things were. Yeah yeah okay. So i'm excited to jump into this And wanted you to come on because you figured out some tactical steps in helping with self care on a daily basis and it doesn't require hours in a day. And i think a lot of times and i say this over and over again on the show so if people listen to the show on a normal basis. They're going to hear me. say this. I think a lot of people think just self care is about spiders managers really. I think self care has turned into. Sometimes i think people kind of are like you know the scoff it often. There's like oh gosh self care here. We go again. You know and Really though i wanna rephrase it and be like let's take care of yourself. You know what i mean like this is about taking care of yourself and so it's not about luxury it's about. How can we be the best person show up for ourselves so that we can show up for other people and and so i wanted you to kind of walk us through what you've come up with. It has really worked for you. And i know the first one is walking and i think so many people may think walking is nothing like how was is really going to help us especially for those die hard exercisers people. Low it off and be like okay so like especially. If you're going by like calorie burn people will be like. What is this really doing for us. Who really cares. And you know. I think it goes back to what i just said in. Regards to taking care of yourself that sometimes it's not about like getting those hit workout because sometimes you know i've dealt with adrenal issue so i actually have to be very careful with doing anything that my heart rate actually goes too high because then i feel taint for the rest of the day instead of feeling energized. And if you listen to your body you could be actually causing more harm than good and so for me. Sometimes i just have to say you know. I just need to move my body today. Maybe i'm going to go on a hike. Yeah i'm not gonna hit a caloric burn that's impressive but it's like well but what do i want to do. That will make me a better person in a healthy person. You know when. I'm sixty. And i'm seventy sometimes it's just like getting out and walking so share with us your thoughts on this and and why it's so important. Yeah sure well the walking. I've always been abbot. I'd love to walk. I'm a beach walker. I i absolutely love it. I couldn't walk for hours. I do walk for hours by myself on the beach. And i see lots of dolphin when i go to the beach and not seeing them right now but but Because i'm always walking always looking. I'm watching so the walking for me is really kind of a meditation so the walking for one thing walking is good for you. Walking his not I used to be a runner in saliva sprained my ankle and and and then realized he what it really don't really like running interesting. I was doing it. Because i felt like i was supposed to be doing it. But now i walk. And i've been walking for for years and years especially you know. My my son is thirteen now so it was around that time when i started this morning routine and actually doctor dr andrew. Weil the holistic health and wellness guru. He had he said he was the men's He says that walking is the best exercise. So it gives it. Does your body good. You're moving your body. It also increases your the cognitive performance in the brain and it reduces stress. I like to use it as you know Guy walk in my neighborhood in the morning. But i really liked to go to the go.

"beerman" Discussed on Mom Inspired Show with Amber Sandberg

"I wanted her to come on is because she is going to talk about four daily practices for busy moms and this is something that she does every day and i thought you know what i think. This would be really great for you guys to hear In hopes that you start implementing if not all of them at least some of them. Because i think they can be very beneficial and You know it's as easy as what she talks about is the first one is walking and the second one is yoga and the third is meditation and the fourth is journaling. And i will tell you that there are some of these that i have resisted for a very long time. I don't do all of them at this point. But i have done them at some point of my life and i can definitely see where the benefits come into play and i have been really working on the meditation and the journaling component. Those are things that i've really resisted over the years. I'm just like it's not for me. I can't do it or i don't see the benefit. And i've really have been working on the practice because i really do think it helps. I think it helps to get out of your head in journaling and to get things out onto paper instead of its swirling around with meditation to calm down to kind of just sit there. And i'm not talking about just like koumba yalla like let's just sit here with our fingers. Pressed together eyelid guided meditations. Personally i think it makes it easier for me than just being complete silence So i just want you guys to figure out what works. Best for and also We talk about walking in how people blow that off and think like that's not a good enough workout and sometimes it's just about getting out and moving your body and yoga is something that i do want to get better at simply because i think it would be so good to become more flexible. Now you don't have to go into this thinking like you need to become a yogi or whatever i challenge you to think about. Certain yoga moves. That could help your breath and help you become more flexible. And i think that is a great thing as we get older to be flexible to be able to get off the floor from a sitting position all these things that i think all of this is so great just for us to be better. Humans better moms better You know just individuals and to live our best lives so please share this with your friends. I feel like all moms kinda need to this right now. I feel like this is such a stressful time. And i feel like if we can help moms become a little less frazzled and i think that would be so amazing so i hope you guys enjoyed this episode. He you guys. Welcome back to my favorite things segment today. I'm going to talk about meditation. I mentioned this a long time ago but because we are talking about meditation in this episode. Today I just wanna let you guys know that. I use head space. So i started in january. I knew i wanted to start to meditate and they have guided meditations. I personally love the australian guy. I don't know if it's because we lived in australia when i was younger so i just gravitate toward that. It just seems very soothing And he he walked you through so there is a female voice to and what he does is he talks and then he goes silent so he's not talking the whole time. But so if you feel you kinda need a little bit of guiding and be also need a little bit of silence. I feel like this is perfect and you can do like a minimum of a one minute. Meditation which to me is perfect. When you're super busy like i need to do this really quick. You can do three minute five minute ten minutes and so on so i think it's just perfect for busy moms. I'm going to put this all in the show notes but if you do subscribe to my emails you'll get this every week on when you episodes come out on tuesday If you have not subscribed to email us make sure to go do that. Mom inspired show dot com into your name and email and you will now get that every week. You won't have to go searching for my favorite things are you guys. Let's go to the show. Hey tracy thank you so much for coming on the show today amber. Thank you so much for having me. I'm excited to be here. I'm excited to have you here. I think this will be really great as we go into the holiday season. But i i always like to start off with an icebreaker which most people know if they are A listener of the show. And i love talking about travel. Because i'm a travel agent I wanna ask with cove and everything you know travel. Is you know a little bit wonky. So when you're able to travel again like normal whatever normal might be. We're is it that you really wanna go to n. y. So we had a year full of travel plan for the sheer that we've moved to next year. But what my where. My kids really wanna go. Again is back to universal. Oh yeah yeah and it was. You know it's such a it's universal is such a thing right but my kids my son. He's thirteen now and we went a couple years. We stayed at the At the the lows back yes and my son when we got home he said that was my favorite thing ever to do. He said i felt so free. Don't give that to my kids again. We lost home. It's such a great times. A family lots of places. I wanna go. My husband right university asked one thing. Yeah so i've i've little ones are six and nine so they're still hanging onto disney and so i don't even know when we're doing that again bite on and i do sell universal and i've done portofino bay for clients and absolutely love it and i wanted to go myself with my husband. I just the girls are they're young. So yeah. I was thinking. Oh that would have been fine. Maybe a short trip this year. Of course i'll bet dress got changed So yeah that's on my list. Because i have not yet done it and i really want to experience and just so that i can you know better. Help my clients and stuff like that. So that's really cool to hear him. Say he felt the most free that is so fascinating so fray fast acute. Wear a big harry potter. Are you know we. We went at the right time. They were easter His thirteen now they were. I think there were were eleven. Ten and eleven. yes they had stamina and we'll go to universal and you can't be super scared of things because then it's a waste you know late because some of the rides are scared jurassic park and all that kind of stuff so you have to know like be frightened or not. And so if they're not than it. Yeah so once you know the stamina and are they going to be frightened or not. Then it's like okay. You know you're ready to go so That is really cool. I know i just thinking about all of that. It just makes me just wanna go half on and go do all that stuff and who knows how any of this is going to look. Come next year notes. We really don't know what i was seeing us. I'm seeing traveling again. Yeah at least six months while. I talked about this on the other. Podcast people are gonna get tired of me saying this. But i just actually sent somebody to kabo. And she's going next week because she had to. She's eloping cancel her wedding twice and she just is like i'm eloping to washington and and then i hooked her up in kabo and was able to get her so many great things because the capacity is low. So it's not easy and so i'm like saying to people if you wanna travel and you feel okay with travelling mexico's the place to go and and to go into luxury properties because you're gonna probably find better deals and it's not going to be crowded it's gonna be so amazing so i mean this is what i keep telling people so. This is the time to go. So i i keep trying to encourage people who are actually open to it that know. Let me help you and send you to mexico. Because i can't go so i need to live through you right then all the pictures..

"Welcome back to the Costa Athlete Program I'm your host chef. Today, we are joined by one of the men who has helped shape one of the biggest brains and body surfing and skin diving or free diving depending on what you choose to identify as we have on the man, the myth, the legend one of the is behind the camera, the Great Nick Nick so good to have you on the show. Absolutely Beerman so I have to ask right off the top. How. Did you get hooked up with because you and Matlin Gio did I pronounce his last name correctly Lingo. Lingo. Thank you. Everybody listened to the show Torius mispronouncing of names between the two of you. You guys are responsible for the majority of public images released by Ert. How'd you get hooked up hooked up with them in the first place? Actually, not really think about it might be a kind of a blurry stories. So there's a thousand, acre, ranch out east in San. Diego that. I am kind of Co.. Owners of I don't own the ranch, but Munich Jake we. Have kind of put together. What is called earlier twenty ranch and Jake's families owned this thousand Acre property since nineteen twelve and as fifty five. Acre Lake on. A. Cabin. In all kinds of different terrain and stuff like that. So years ago through the rest of a group that started, which is rescued watches also on by rob. Smith We met through him in new that was formerly snipers. So they asked me to come out in check out the ranch in need do some schouten. Stuff. So I went out there and I saw we we're able to shoot to like twenty, six hundred meters and I j like you have no idea what you have here. In will only get some boys out here jigs former military he was air. Force. So. Through my connections, I knew mad at the time and we brought matt out there and just shooting various guns and kind of started doing some photo shoots. No quick just because I want to. I want to date for the audience. 'CAUSE as everybody knows like five years ago gun content could help you when the algorithm whereas now you don't necessarily see the same level of push. So at what point was this this forming up happening? This is probably in twenty seventeen. And So maddie and out in and. That's how I got introduced again and then started doing. Random shoots through MAC. and. Become really close with with union the rest of his family. Really, really big into the brand and and what it stood for. In. The logos and designs in the Surf Culture that was speculating waiting so I ended up getting connected with them through that we do some dies up support any way that I could. has now kind of worked for clandestine media. which the huge military media company does a lot of shoots for a lot of the major manufacturers and kind of had to take a step away because he's been on the road for weeks and weeks and weeks at a time and so ian reach out to the announcement. Step into fill Matt's shoes which are big shoes to fill in. More than happy to do so.

"Those three things and win a pandemic shuts down the entire world and you have no access to gyms. If you did those three things, maybe you wouldn't be in the best shape of your life that you could possibly be in but you wouldn't gain weight. You wouldn't be out of shape you wouldn't. Be Iraq and I think that you know you are. You're only as strong as your weakest link Weakest Link as water exercise in vegetables you're going to be in pretty good shape. So that would be there as far as exercise goes that such a great point starting right from the Beerman. So I I do a lot of a group small group in bigger fitness classes in the keys extreme scale ability and doing the again the bare minimum. So let's say we for starters. It's can you move can't Kenny moving these ranges emotion and keeping extremely extremely safe if or in a group I think that that's the importance of setting the environment to in setting the the. A welcoming nurturing environment that there is everyone is encouraging everybody regardless of where they are at which is easier in ABC's small group classes. But if you are going into a class and you don't feel comfortable doing an exercise, do not do start at the bare minimum. If you went to a a workout in there was five things that were prescribed to do there should be a scale ability to all of them and none is better or worse than the other if you win. Every single station all you did was do some high knees and just kind of lift your knees up you just one that day you one you showed up, you move your body you on, and then over time as the way comes off as you start to move better, you can go from these regressions into progressions from exercise I think it would benefit everybody to to resistant strain in some fashion and everybody can get to their level in those areas with whatever that might be. In time. Let's say you never did. Let's say you never stuck. You never got into resistance training. You never really liked it. If you just still walked every day, you'd be exponentially better shape than not but I don't know if I fully answered that question but start at the bottom in work your way up slowly and just like weight loss, you have the rest of your life to learn how to squat. You have the rest of your life to learn how to properly hinch and you don't have. To put a timetable on, it, just show up every day and very, very good things will happen and who knows you might be slotting five hundred pounds and five years. Who knows absolutely I feel like unite our advertising walking because I get messages on instagram senior walk in doing my videos all the time and they asked me, you know wall are you running? You know what high intensity cardio do you do and I say I don't. I started my journey walking pushing a stroller and I still walk, and that's where I get a lot of my movement from I. Love String Training I love jump rope and I do some other things intermittently. But to your point if I were to say, what will I do till I'm ninety walking could totally do that and it's interesting but I feel like in other cultures walking a requirement, right? Like because of the way the systems are set up there and whatnot. But here in the United States is kind of like a well. Is there something I could do this more effective than walking and I'm like? No walking really is the foundation like if you're out there hitting the pavement walking the time getting as much movement in it's GonNa be helping you I mean there's so much good science behind walking you know and I feel like it's a short end of the stick because it's not as sexy it's not as sweaty it's not. Hey. It doesn't look like torture chew it gets the short stick because. There's nothing sexy about. But. I just like there's nothing sexy about drinking water, need vegetables when you. Just spoke Hido or something that's not as cool eight it's just it's it's absolutely magical and I I'm with you. One hundred percent I go on a walk every single day I love them. If the cool thing is you do get these weight loss benefits and health benefits in movement benefits but like they're just so fulfilling just your your.

"Yeah Joe this episode. We're talking about frugality that's a word that we use often. We use it when we you talk about being frugal or cheap but forget he is a mainstay of personal finances. It's something that we come back too often but like we're gonNA talk about. This episode is not always something thing that we can count on to make some big changes in your life. Yes sometimes there are other levers that we need to pull in frugality. We just can't come back anymore. Okay that's kind of what this episode is about if you find yourself having gone into a personal finance diving deep and you're realizing what. I've made a lot of frugal moves. But I you gotTa do more in order to get my finances where I want them to be well. That's what this episode is going to get into exactly Matt before we get into that. Let's do a frugal or cheap in a frugal or chief or just plain funny or ridiculous. I saw this article. There's this guy follow on twitter and he called his article flushing money down the toilet and and it's literally a little heads up of what this article is actually going to be about. So he literally goes through all of the things that cost money about going to the bathroom anthem at home. And why you should take your number twos at work instead of doing it at the house. Yeah specifically number two. It's not about the number ones because what's number twos. There's all all these other expenses you got to account for the candle toilet paper. You know maybe an extra flesh because you can't use the economy flesh right like you go with the full fledged not the half flash just potentially that plumber call once a year that you're gonNA have to make the case you know it gets a little unwieldy. Well what I love about that article and we'll post this up in our show notes but I love that he dove so deep in so hardcore into the numbers even a calculator. So you assess your own personal situation your own usage. So since we're talking about frugality I just thought that was funny. Because yeah super frugal person would probably potentially think about something like that. And I'm not GonNa say it's something I've I've never thought about before I dug into this amount of detail. Yeah if it's something that you can kind of keep in the back of your mind in that can slightly modify your behavior. I'm like all right. Well then it's just a little more natural but it feels feels cheap if you're going way out of your way in order to make number two half and while you're at work while we'll say for me working from home. This isn't something I personally can. We do right like my office is my home so for us. That's an expense. We realize ourselves except Home Office deduction unless good point yeah. There's a percentage because I use a room in our house so you get to write off some your utility all percentage of the size of your home and then utilities as well so boom I can go whenever I want one of my favorite great parts about the post. Besides the calculator is that he calls it. You know we talk about opportunity costs when we talk about money because it the pooper. Unity costs so yeah it was clever If anybody wants to mess around with that calculator poop jokes to Joel. Feel free to tweet your best poop jokes at us. I didn't totally understand that part. Though he's talking about the opportunity cost cost. Is he saying that while you're at work you're missing out on what he's saying is if you poop at home as opposed to proving it work. There's this opportunity cost of your money because you're at home home. You're spending your own money your own time on the water bill on the candle on the running of the fan with the electricity all that kind of statue guy so obviously it's just a little bit. He's alleged alleged. It's a little goofy but especially since we're talking about frugality and maybe win frugality doesn't cut it well. This kind of went a little too far but superfund refunding definitely worth talking about on the show. Yeah we'll share that with y'all as well aren't meant let's quickly mention the beer that we're having on the show today this Beerman. I've been doing this for over. Ten years is hibernation nation. Ale is old school. Yeah by great. Divide brewing well. You said you've been drinking for ten years. I don't think I've had it in eight years. It's been four ever since I've had this beer. This is one of those that I think you and I both kind of fell in two years ago. But this is one that we've SORTA Kinda sat on the back shelf a little bit when you when you go to the when you go the beer shop and you see any kind of a little for the cap to it but you don't really pick it up. I'm glad that we're able to share this one today. This old L.. I love a good old ale so we will talk about this this one at the end of the show but for now. Let's get onto the topic at hand. We're talking about wind. Frugality doesn't cut it when it's not enough and you and I both agree. That for galaxy is a great great tool in our personal finance Swiss army knife. We're pretty Frugal fellas ourselves and we love seeing the frugal steps that our friends and our listeners are implementing into do their lives oftentimes. They're doing things that we hadn't even thought of right and it's encouraging to see that it's inspirational and it's educational for us. It's creative as well right. Yes you love that super creative stuff. I love love to see how people are saving money and it just makes me WANNA go harder after saving more of my own and making frugal cuts but frugality.

"From npr and you are i'm jeremy hobson i'm robin young it's here now and we start this hour with questions about a planned resort in indonesia half of the funding is expected to come from loans from the chinese government and it will feature a trump branded golf course in hotels white house deputy press secretary raj shah was asked about it yesterday by noah bearman of the la times after the trump organization that i mean the trump organization can't speak on behalf of the president as the president that had of the federal government to one who is who's responsible you needs to assure the american peony you're talking about a private organizations dealings that may have to do with a foreign government and that's not something i can speak to the reporting on the resort from asia franz press came this week as the president tweeted too many jobs in china were being lost and about face from pass comments and as both countries tussle over trade let's bring in noah beerman of the los angeles times you heard him ask the question and noah what were you getting at with it a reassure the american people about what well there were a lot of questions raised by this report including you know some ethics experts said it had some some questions about the constitutional emoluments clause being raised which the constitution basically says that the president can't profit from foreign governments through his role as the president there's an argument to be made at least that that this could compromise that lillian you mentioned ethicists there's richard painter who was an ethics lawyer for former president george w bush said the project was problematic i would have advised him to sell the hotel and other holdings but didn't the president pledge that he would not have any new business dealings with trump company this deal as we understand it started in two thousand fifteen yeah that's correct and i mean that this story speaks to some of the big questions in the president's own declaration which he made before.

"We give you sports talk tonight in knowing vegas is in our minds and our thoughts i just saw on twitter that the number within the last couple of minutes has jumped up to i do believe it's fifty nine have now died in this massacre in vegas not the kind of they thought to be hurrying of you but nevertheless from the full fall into things the oakland raiders have just announced within the last ten minutes or so big dare car has a fracture in his back he will miss at least two weeks looks like an it's probably gonna be more they're saying two to four but look at some others in two to four to six all that kind of stuff it's it is not good to say the least one eight hundred three to one wpro four three eight nine seven seven six but beard man tweeting in as well because we had to move on me the first hour does move beerman says the fix will part of the defense is mental mistakes or physical breakdowns gilmore needs to wash off that buffaloes stench there's no question that he needs to do certain things better like not get the same kind of penalties twice in the same game i don't think that's the fawn gilmore is as bigger problem our peace people are making it out to be the reason i hope on the backhand is because i think if you can find your self another matchup linebacker you might be able to take a safe off the field and that could help some of the issues and problems that they've had in terms of knowing it lineup of matching up against certain teams and look the raiders earn i thought the raiders were going to be with the patriots playing for a day see championship and i don't think for three weeks are four weeks accused me that we're going to be able to make definitive season declaration conclusions other than the teams that are really bad like the giants but even then they can make a run because they've got some terrorist but you understand what i mean gene in that the.
