"Four turnovers by quarterbacks already brace young looks flawless. Seven touchdowns. No picks look so smooth rematch of sec. Championship game or that game was pretty close but in this situation bama just florida's a totally different team lay in the fourteen and a half. I'm doing it and they roll right one while its cover one. More parlayed penn state at home favored by six and beaver stadium over auburn fifty. Two and a half is the over on their these teams. I haven't played in eighteen years. That i read that right the capital one bowl. I feel like i remember that game. obviously this is one of those things auburn beat akron and alabama state by a combined. One twenty two to ten. You know they don't give up any rushing yards pass. Rush looks good. You don't know what you're looking at. i think. bo. Knicks is better than sean clifford. Who's kind of settled in though auburn. Six and three against the spread in the last nine seven lasts seven played in september against the spread. I'm going with knicks at having not seen a lot. And i know penn state be wisconsin. They have the better win of the of the two teams. But i'm gonna take the six and a half probably kid sell with you on this one. Sal yeah i think bo nixon Clifford of penn state the two quarterbacks of kind of had the same yeah career trajectories. Here they came in with some hype and they've got kind of been underwhelming over the years so they've been okay but just maybe Have performed up to the expectations. I can't believe oh next is still here actually at auburn and like you said a hundred and twenty two to ten in their first two games have been challenged at all but jar quiz hunter from auburn. I don't care who the competition is against. He's averaging fifteen point one yards per carry so far and i'm just gonna take the sec athlete. Kind of like the way how he was talking about big ten over. Acc what's this. Look at the sec. Over big ten here. I think they just auburn has more athletes on this team. I think bo knicks will make some plays with his legs compared to clifford or make a couple nice runs big runs here and there scramble out of the pocket make some more plays and clifford does. I'll take the points here. I think they keep they keep a close. They might even seal one here. Sal on the road really all right. That'll be fun. Yeah it's hard to go against the sec. Ever i'm trying to look at shark tank that we do this. We did it monday. You guys give your best jump on one. Jump away from the other. Two we have job tank. Picks right what you had me. We won the jacks over. Four and a half i carry. That was jackson's first. Run is gonna be over four and a half yards eighteen. The i four and a half. He ran backwards then he just turned around and said. Let me get some more here so easy. Good job by you. Brother bri the other sharp tanks of polychaete came close with rugs Over fifty right. What do you wanna watch. Tough one to watch. It took the adjusted plus one sixty two so that loss harry went against yu darvish. That one giants baseball giants won easily. All right. how are we start us off. I'll pick one of these. Okay we're gonna do a four team money line college football parlay for saturday's this guy. Wait and hope before. Harry takes it. Did anybody notice what he's saying. Alabama says you know. I don't like to take the favorites. Yea he's all over china. I don't like waiting points double digit point. I don't normally like to do that down so so little money. Line here down. I'm gonna take alabama. Like i mentioned minus six fifty sabin and young. It's a can't beat combo. I wanna take toledo minus seven hundred against colorado state. They've put up seventy eight point in their first two games. Maybe should have stunned Spaghetti's notre dame team were colorado state. Maybe this might be the worst team. I can remember them. Having lots of south dakota state by twenty lost bandy a both at home. Mom take north carolina minus three ten against virginia sam. How isn't losing at home. An old message. Seven fifty against two lane quarterback matt coral six touchdowns zero picks this season. Second on the team in rushing. They've scored ninety seven points in their two games. So far this season the right. Now i don. He's a second odds on favorite to win the heisman. So it's mississippi minus seven fifty north carolina minus three ten toledo minas seven hundred and alabama at minus six fifty. Did i hear. I was driving to work but mikey meatballs today. Did i hear brock party might be benched. I mean they had that other kid in there the other day. That big actually moved the ball down the field. Listen iowa state isn't dead yet because the loss was a non conference loss their dad and they could tell they still when you have to beat oakland y y you can't you can't get blown out nana bad conference though solitaire twice. They're not dead yet. I was not as teams in this country. Yeah and the conference. All right brother bry gives us a sharp thank pick. Yeah i know. We went over a lot of games here. But i'm gonna take one that i think was We did. But i'm gonna take cincinnati minus three and half small favourite at indiana. I i might be selling indiana little short here after that week. One loss ads iowa which was pretty much because of a couple defensive touchdowns but panics. Obviously i don't know if it was the injury from last year but he's struggled struggled throwing the ball again. You can't really go by any any of these games. So far i think for either team. 'cause idaho man that's not a. It's not a big win for yadda but cincinnati. This is this is their year with all these other losses at some of these teams have had. This is their year if they want a shot at the playoffs this year. We saw how good they were last year. You know they should be georgia in that in that bowl game If they were playing notre dame they played notre dame in two weeks there at notre dame so they can beat indiana they have to make assed this has to be a statement win here at indiana And then they at least have a by going into the notre dame game if notre dame was next week. I'd feel a little bit more worried about this game But i do think. Cincinnati is gonna put on a little bit of a show. They have most of their offense back. We know defensively. They've always been good for for the last couple of years. But i think Ritter puts up a lot of points right syncing minus three and a half got the four team. Money line parlay polly kid. What do you got well. So you've just wasted time listening to those guys. Because i know you're gonna put mine. Anybody was going to parlay what we talked about. I was gonna take packers box browns and a parlor but it's really like minus two hundred right now. Is it really. Yeah those those us two hundred with those three. Yeah someone over thirteen or something. It's the bucks minus seven twenty on. It didn't like it matched up with the news. Unless i've read it wrong. You guys could look it up. But the packers of minus five ninety bucks minus seven. Twenty brown's wine at six fifty really came onto a minus close to minus two hundred cells..

"Because of florida wins this game at home. Florida then has straight path to the sec championship game. And yeah i know. They've got georgia other team. But if you beat alabama you should be able to beat everybody else. And then you'll take on maybe bama again in a in probably both teams get into the conference into the college football playoffs. Any shot in your mind. That florida could shock the world here at home catching fifteen and a half points. Yeah i i doubt it i mean emory jones has not really looked all that strong this year. Florida starting quarterback anthony richardson. There is a little bit of excitement around him. He had excuse me He had a huge game last week. Against south florida couple. Long touchdown runs really mobile So that's pretty exciting but man. It's tough to play that two quarterback system and have one guy who you're really just not all that excited about right now and alabama's defense has been so good You know savings and they're pretty mad right now understandably. He feels that they didn't play a full game against miami and then they start slow against mercer. So you know. This is a pretty miserable week for those alabama players. So i i really. Don't see this game Being inside two touchdowns like you said the lines around fifteen. And i think that's very very fair. Trusting yeah bama. I was coming back on. Bama in the first half once again on the road. At florida throwback to steve spurrier days when florida and alabama or meeting for sec championships. The later game is the annual whiteout at penn. State penn state gets the big win early on the road to start the season over wisconsin auburn to know as well as their first time ever traveling to beaver stadium. It's going to be an insane atmosphere big ten. Sec football penn state's favored. Who do you like it this one because this is a tough one to call. Yeah then not. Only the first time they're going to That auburn's go up to penn. State this is the first regular season game between the teams ever. They've only played in two bowl games before. So it's a really cool story line Just kind of being a college football nerd. I love this so much that they were getting a a different kind of matchup but as far as the game itself. penn state's pass defense has been excellent Wisconsin could not do anything and ball state. Look it's ball state and you're not gonna get a whole lot of Praised for that but they did win the mac last year and they've got a a quarterback who's been there for several years as a starter and penn state has given up the state's given up Let me about five yards a pass this year so i really like what they're doing at this point and auburn i just don't trust bo knicks. That's that's the honest truth that situation. He's done really well to start the year but they've played akron alabama state low competition. Not his fault. That's that's what's on the schedule. But i really do not think that auburn can go into what's going to be a crazy environment in that white out it's going to be constantly loud And i really don't think auburn is gonna have enough on offense to get past fence. They defense now. i i do. Think penn state offense on the other hand is not going to really blow. Pass this auburn defense either. I think it's probably going to be a pretty low scoring game. But i do think. Penn state wins by touchdown in the end. Yeah man it's gonna be fun. You were these big ten schools. Get a chance to knock off ranked. Sec team and this is a huge pride thing into whiteout game. And i'm with you. I don't think got much of a shot here..

"That was a dream job to be the quarterback coach with the Saints working under Sean Payton, working with a guy like Drew Brees every day, but Just like I told the student athletes that we recruit on a yearly basis. I just couldn't ignore that feeling in my gut on my alma mater was down a little bit at that time, and I wanted to do my part to see if I can come back to a place that was special to me. Maybe try to help rebuild it. Maybe, you know, so that was such a challenge that you know, I just couldn't ignore that feeling in my gut when they presented me with the opportunity to come back, and I wanted to come make a difference and part of my roots in the arena league and trying to help build players back up. After they've been cut in the NFL, and they thought, you know there was they were down and out, never counted down in the dumps. So I loved the challenge that you know, to come back to ball state and and then try to build something special, and I love having an opportunity to try to impact. 18 1920 year old young man to be difference makers in our world and want to help them all chase their dream. But I also want to help them be a difference maker in the world, and that's the part I love about college football. It's certainly working Mike, newest head coach of ball State, My tear point You had amazing situation with the Saints and again. You played quarterback in college and were very successful and you've worked with some really good quarterbacks along the way. Including Drew Brees. In fact, what was your biggest takeaway from your time with him? You know the best part about Drew Brees. I think his career and what he does on the field when everybody has a chance to watch them on TV. That speaks for itself. But he's such a phenomenal human being and to watch. You know, it made such a lasting impact with me. We would play a game. In the Superdome. It might have been over at 4 30 or five o'clock. And by the time you know all the postgame, uh, press conference was Rover family time. We had a chance to get something to eat. He would take all the little kids whether it's his own kids. Kids of staff members, my son, he'd go back down to the game feel that he would throw the ball on that field with those little kids. For however long it took an hour or two hours and That left left such a lasting impression on my son and to see him No. One that we just got done playing a game and I know he's tired of the No. Which probably ready to go home and decompress and, you know, unwind a little bit. He's down there with the kids, and that just he's such a remarkable human being. And, uh, I'm just he really is a better person than he is player and I know that's hard to believe, because his career was so special talking ball state football for a few more moments, Mike, I've got to ask about your quarterback Drew plate. He's been putting up numbers for years. What is it about him and his game that makes him special? Yeah, I love the swagger that he plays the game with, you know, when you play quarterback certainly got to be a confident on your abilities and you've got to believe in yourself, but he has a great swagger about himself. That's still humble and you know when, when he's out there, man. He is an ultimate competitor. He works extremely hard in the film room when the lights are off, and nobody's watching because he knows that part of the preparation is going to make the difference form on game day, and I'm just proud of them because you know he did something that's never been done here at Ball State, help them lead His football team last year in our program to the First bowl went in school history, and so, um, you know, I'm fortunate to be able to work with a guy like that every day. He's still hungry, though, and you know nobody in our programs fat and happy after You know, accomplishing, you know a special year last year and so it's great to be around the group of humble guys that are just ready to go back to work. And certainly, you know, Drew is one of those guys that is at the top of that list. So finally have got a great challenge, but a great opportunity Saturday. You've got Penn State in their place. What is your message to your team going into that game? And what is the key? Yeah, You know, Penn State coach Franklin's done a great job. That roster is loaded from top to bottom. Extremely talented, very impressive Opening game won at Wisconsin on the road. Really a big 10 slugfest type of game. But this will be the first time since 2019 that there will be 106,000 strong in Beaver Stadium. And so we've got to handle the noise, which we've practiced our tail off all week long on making it as loud and obnoxious as we possibly can. In our stadium with music, crowd noise, everything. We could possibly get our hands on. But they put their uniform on the same way that we do and yes, they're talented, but it's about us. Making sure That we clean up our mistakes from game number one, and we put our best brand of ball state football out there on the field and and we've got to build the countenance of B. Feel confident in our game plan, and we've studied it. We just got to go out man and cut it loose, and we can compete with anybody and under our guys believe that and we're going to respect him because great program with a lot of great talent, and James Franklin's been a winter everywhere he's been and so it's a great challenge. This is why you play the game on. This is a great opportunity for us as a program. Great opportunity. Great challenge for a great opportunity. I like it. I like it a lot at ball State at number 11 Penn State. He is the head football coach at Ball State in his sixth season with the Cardinals, and they're coming off a huge year with a big opportunity this week. And Mike knew my guess my great to talk to you. Thanks So much for that Good luck this weekend and really good to have you on the show. Well, Jim, thank you so much for having you head football could from ball state on your show, and certainly big fan of yours and thank you again just for the opportunity. Now. I appreciate that, Mike. Thanks for making time for the opportunity and very happy to give it to you. You made the show better appreciate that. Mike knew this is what we do here, right? It's we take a look at these things. And when you look at what he's accomplished a ball state when you look at what he inherited And what he's done..

Be Liberty job against Cooper, Did you text Can you before we get into something very games. Anything in game that strikes you right now, as we're keeping our eyes on Florida, Georgia A Florida Georgia, I think, you know, given the weather conditions were supposed to be a soggy, windswept field there in Duval County, but it does not appear to be slowing them down. So I would keep an eye on that, maybe hopping at half time to go over a live number. For the rest of the games on the board. Right now, I think you know Houston, Cincinnati presented some opportunities happen if Houston was able to score first, just because Cincinnati has been so dominant, and I think that sports books have lagged behind properly handicapping their games. For the most part, they just kind of have a bland offense, and they've been all that explosive. But in this spot, I think up seven. Nothing right now. I'm gonna keep my money on the sidelines. The one I did have circled, though, before we hop in. Teo Later Slate. Penn State Down 21. Nothing at home against Maryland. I almost pulled the trigger at 14 Nothing. Now I need to see if Pennstate even has a pulse in this game a little bit shocking to see the Terps just boat racing up in ST at Beaver Stadium. It is almost and we're gonna ask you about the other games. But like at this point this season, you have to ask Which team has looked worse. Penn State our mission in to this point in season And what of motivation certainly comes into play with some of these power five programs. You have players who you know mentally there 1 ft. Out the door, potentially with opt out. I'm sure that agents have taken advantage of the down period and are chattering in their ear. So Motivation and how hard they're playing. And you know some of the combinations of personnel that they had a shuffle to the cove it it's really create situations where the preseason predictions on these teams have been totally useless. Penn State now looking like they could finish in the bottom third of the Big 10, which is something that if you ask the Penn State, and a month ago, they were more concerned about potentially losing Franklin. Well, first, if you'll just allow me to see the ball go through the hoop on this one. I'm gonna clear my throat here and pronounce Constance quarterback deejay. We angle a lay. All right. I got that one on my country will refer to him as big think of from here on out. I think there was an opportunity for this line to, you know, get a little bit closer into that three and four point range, which obviously is a key number. What is held strong at 5.5, and I think it's shown the Sharps community their faith and doubt those 20. This is head coach who during his career dating back to 2009, as leading man of the constant program is 32 in 18 against ranked opponents and 30 and 20 against the spread in those spots. So he's proven, you know, with superstar quarterbacks and with bridge quarterbacks that he's been ableto win and win big games, So that is a point spread and money movement. That didn't really surprise me. What has surprised me is that there's been an influx of money on the over yet it has not moved very much. It opened 50 50.5 right now. I think given the injuries and issues the Compton has defensively as well as the huge step up and quality that note Notre Dame's defense is going to be facing in this game. 15.5 I think is off by close to a touchdown, and this should be in the higher fifties. I think there's a lot of value playing the over There's only one outstanding team when we talk about possible candidates to get to the college football playoff, and we have got to see Oregon play this season. Tonight. They will host Stanford. Right now I'm seeing their their favorite by 10.5 points. How should we play this game? We have yet to see the docks, but a lot of people thinking that they're going to be pretty good this season. I was actually surprised to see this bubble up all the way to 10. I think Stanford's a live dog in this game. They've won three out of last four in Eugene. So they're certainly not afraid to go into the environment. As we know due to covert protocols. There's absolutely no home field advantage in our stadium. On top of it. I think the talent disparity is overstated. If you look at 24 7 talent, composite rating organs 12th in the country. Stanford's right there, 1/20 and with the opt out, they've lost five starters, You know, since spring practice, Oregon is now moving a lot closer to overall talent levels for Stanford, and then you throw in a new quarterback in Tyler Shock. A new offensive coordinator and Joe Moore had located on the East Coast. So I remember more heads back to his 14 days. His transition depends state. It's not an offense that immediately flips the switch..

Tom Allen challenged his offense, primarily the offensive line to extend drives after Indiana was held just 211 yards of offense last week. Oh struggles caused. "The best atmosphere in college football long and deep, downfield wide touchdown play one of the top teams in the country, one of the top teams country we've got Beaver Stadium on, You know, we're gonna compete our tails off. It's one to look forward to just two games into the season for these big 10 foes. Number three Ohio State 18th right. Penn State from Happy Valley. Chris Fowler will be part of the call on ABC. It's 7 30 Eastern. Later on tonight, he joined John Anderson on SportsCenter. I think it's going to have to score points to hang with the Ohio State because the way feels looked in the opener. The way he's improved John in the off season, but guys very, very hard to stop all season long. Having said that they want to improve the running game. They didn't get much for the running backs. The offensive line's been challenged to do better because you don't want Justin to be your leading rusher. All season. But the way he is spending the ball that corps of receivers is goingto have AH, Monster evening. Against most people. Penn State has two good corners, and they have edge pass rushers. Try to take away some of fields times. So I think this is His biggest challenge all season long, but he might just past the challenge with flying colors will see He's that good After one game in an eight game season compensatory be desperate. They don't feel to me terribly desperate. They feel surprisingly confident. Another fans aren't confident that the fans are worried. It's going to be a blowout, but the players understand they outplayed. Indiana dominated in a lot of ways and that even though it's a loss, they're not As pessimistic as the outside world seems to be now the Penn State players feel okay about their team, and they're not going in there just to try to keep it close. They think they want me and Penn State was again their own worst enemy just a week ago against Indiana. They need to clean up those mistakes. Michael of Junior reminds you To keep an eye out for a certain Nittany Lions tight end. I think Ohio State's going to win this game pretty big, but I would love for people to continue to pay attention to pat for our movie was probably the best tight end in college football outside of Kyle pits in Florida. He's got 16 career touchdown passes the most since 2018 at that spot OS You gave up. 85 catches the tight ends over that time period, most of the big 10 in that time period, so let's see if we can get pat in the end zone for this game. "I go to Sunday night, and you want to talk about a line moving and dancing and jumping all over the place Philadelphia fillies that Sunday dinner money, and I think that was money. I think that's hopefully never, boys. That game should be not. That's right. That's stunning, Right. Should filly be giving 10 points to anybody. Well, will it all be a team right now, that's going to get healthy. There's this season progresses. And this isn't as much a reflection of Philadelphia in their current form as it is bending Nucci, the James Madison slash Pittsburgh product making his NFL starting debut, and it was hard to ignore the Cowboys body language through the first half against the Washington football team last week, even with Andy Dalton out there Whether it's Ezekiel Elliott being out of shape for an offensive line, the camp locker a defense that can't stop anybody. You're not going to catch me trying to advocate for taking the point, even on inflated price tag with the Cowboys. But Philadelphia until they go out there and show that they can completely dominated opponent and win a game. This convincingly makes a lot more sense. If the teaser like if you can get him down below a field goal then I would advocating for laying 9 9.5 points in the divisional rivalries. James Franklin's had some close calls against Ohio State. They've struggled to close the deal They want what back in 2016, but the last three have gone Ohio State's way, but Four games here in the last four years. You've got a you know, total total. Those four games decided by 16 points. I mean, you talk about a rivalry recently that's been close. Can Penn State even without an empty stadium? Which doesn't benefit them at all. Can they hang out at home with the Ohio State? I'm sure James Franklin would love 100,000 fans in a white out in Beaver Stadium for this kind of environment, but you also wouldn't be catching the Nittany lines in that 11 13 range. If that was the case, you mentioned a car looking at the last three games he's teams have played in Happy Valley. They've all been decided by seven points or less. Penn State has started season owing to since 2012. Now, of course, there were any cancer Akron for them to get off the schneid last week, when you dig into that game against Indiana, and full disclosure, I had Indiana in that spot. Indiana wasn't the better team by any stretch of the imagination. Penn State just continue to shoot themselves in the foot 10 penalties. 100 Yards missed field goals, a boneheaded play from a running back late in the game that ultimately cost him the outright win. I think pencil has nothingto lose here. You This is a game where you go out there. You throw the kitchen sink. You try and get Pat. Friar Muth involved the underrated tight end for the Nittany Lines. You look for John Dotson, Who's gotta fill that cage a ham roll on the outside. Meanwhile, Ohio State, they didn't Wow. Anybody with their ground game last week? I mean, if you back out the rushing yards from Justin Fields They were pretty pedestrian. I think Penn State's got a defensive line that can slow them down a little bit. But you're not going completely clamp down in the Buckeye. So if Penn State can find a way to score 24 points in this particular spot, I think the dog has value. It's always difficult to feed Ohio State in the juggernaut. They've become the numbers a little bit inflated. I have strongly towards any other best place that we want to talk about for the weekend real quick. You know, we'll go down Teo, South Florida in the NFL. When you look at the Dolphins as home underdogs against the Rams. I know Sean McVeigh has been outstanding getting this team to travel. But somewhere along the way on a short week, you ultimately have to feel that the Rams are due for a little bit of a letdown. Given all the miles on those legs plus to making a start as a left handed quarterback will be the first one to do so since Kellen Moore. It changes the dynamics quite a bit for what a defense is able to do. In their normal scouting protocol. So I like Miami, plus the points and when you look into college football ring, an unranked home favorite in this spot, I made the number seven between Rush, Virginia Kansas State. You combine Wildcats all you want, but they've been outgained and for their five games, West Virginia better defensive line. I think West Virginia wins this game quite comfortably out there in Morgantown, Saturday morning. Sounds good, buddy. Thanks, Todd. We appreciate is always will talk to you next Friday. "I think of crazy train I think of football because for so many years I've been at Gillette Stadium and I see the Patriots run out of the tunnel with crazy Train by Ozzie Osborne being played. It gets me thinking here, Trace. And you're a Colts fan. So usually don't make the trip to Indianapolis. Have you ever made the trip to Indianapolis? I have once but actually ironic. It was not for a cult schemes, actually for a Penn State game, so I've only been in the white sand championship game. Yes, sir. Was that Penn State, Wisconsin, 2016. You know it. Trace McSorley sake. What was on that team? Right? You, Woz. He's electric that year. I don't like Penn State football. You know this? I'm not a fan of Penn State. I've always loved Trace. McSorley is a football player. That dude is is simply just the gamer. That team. What I'm gonna have to say that team was actually fun. That that was actually a fun Penn State team. I gotta go brush my teeth and wash my mind mouth out right now, after saying that that 2016 though Penn State team was fun, that was the year If they win the big 10 championship didn't go to college football playoff high state still got in. Correct. That is correct. Yes, and the Buckeyes got blown out by Clemson. Yeah, that's right. How about that was a good pen state team. It was once the next time that won the Big 10 championship in your mind. I mean, they're talking Penn State this I mean, This is as good as years ever. I mean, we don't know what it's gonna look like, but they had Ohio State at home. This is their best team returning. Maybe since 2060 maybe, really, Ever because 2016 count was one of those teams that caught fire. You know, we all have those teams. They just catch fire, and I'll collect. But on paper, this should be the best team they've had in a while. Well, I mean, who This is that this year in 2020 is their best shots to do in a long time. I'll say that and it's crazy, though, because now I'm thinking little bit more about this, and we've had these conversations before. Ah, program like Penn State, though even I will admit I've been there on game day. It is on unbelievable experience. But you're not. You're not gonna have 100,000 people and at that stadium this I don't even know if you have any people at that. I was just going to say if they have one person That's a fan in the state of things that would be a W O win. I doubt so let me ask you this. Penn State is red hot. Where in November team is Cruz in there in play for for a college football playoff spot. I don't know exactly when and when the games are scheduled, But let me pull a Penn State schedule just to give you a situation. Let's go. Penn State. You know what? How about this? Penn State Ohio State They play October 24th. Let's just say the season gets off the ground running. We? The seasons happened in October at that time, and who knows Because of all the conference scheduling, Although it's already announced in the big tank, they're going to do it in conference. So you know who knows exactly how the schedule plays out and how they liked to do it. But let's say that Ohio State Penn State Game gold teams are undefeated. Both teams aircrews and maybe gets pushed back a little bit, and it's in November. It's October. Whatever it is I got to you trace. I got two tickets cost you Nothing. You're 50 yard line 20 rose up. Under feet or higher state undefeated Penn State they're allowing. Let's go. 30,000 out of 100,000 fans in the stands. Do you go? Oh, that is so tough. I mean, I don't want to have a cop out here. But like If we're in, I guess we'll see if we're in an area where couch football is being played and being played safely. That means we're in a pretty good spot over all the countries also, yes. 130,000 you can easily Social distance, everyone you have to feel to Ah, to crane. They're too close together. You're telling me you have tickets that game I am in. Let's go. What's gets it? Let's get rowdy. Let's get the Tele gates going. I'm in. What happens if they say all right? We're good. Allow 50,000 people. Real half capacity about A lot of people, the only thing with my college teams and like Beaver Stadium specifically like they have the bleachers, So it's like it's not that antiquated, right when I just had, like the structure, like the state of itself was not like that big like they pack everyone in your right toe like NFL stadiums. You have an individual seat. There's more space down like the same itself is bigger, delicate. Certain is like half capacity. Fans are still saying close each other because, like you're squeezing and went in to get 100,000 people in there, so I guess I have to see the layout first. See how actually you know becoming a politician here, But I just You know, I feel personally I feel safe if you wear a mask. If everyone's work If everyone's wearing a mask I'm in. I'll say that if it's amended U together state you have to wear a mask. 50,000 people. I would still feel pretty safe. Here's right. Don't feel safe, and you know what happens with college football and NFL games. People are ridiculous when they're drunk. That's probably the truest thing I've ever said on the radio. People get absolutely ridiculous at football games when they're drunk. And it's a human reaction. Penn State scores a touchdown for you not May You jump into someone else's arms. Is there going to be some random guy, even though they have you seated, 6789 10 feet away. That starts jumping into your arms because Penn State scored a touchdown to go defeat Ohio State. Probably it happens. You're not going to feel comfortable, you're going to be annoyed. I'm not really concerned about myself. I'm concerned about others. And I look at the alternative. And I love going to football games. I love going to college games. I love going to NFL games. I've been to a bunch of different stadiums and it's so fun because it's it's not only four hours. You get up in the morning, you tailgate you make in an entire day event, And when you travel in then you're going to do something maybe at night in that current city. Even as appealing and how fun that could pay for this year. And who knows? You know, I'll be a politician here, I'll leave the door open. Who knows things could change. My thinking could change right now, though, and I felt this way for last month month and 1/2. I look at what the alternative is, and the alternative is simply I still get to watch the football. I could still invite some. You know, a few friends over. Get the hot dogs on the grill. The wings the sausage, Get a bunch of Pierre. And I could sit in my backyard. Or I could sit in my living room and watch the game on the big, comfy couch and a huge flat screen. Not freeze my butt off, and I have to deal with that many other people. That's why I looked at that alternative. And even though It would be so much fun to get back to a football game. I have a tough time seeing myself in a football stadium this year. You know, I'll say if we even have the conversation where you have to.

"That we've seen for instance. It's hard somewhat to know because the infection rate in. Let's say Florida has definitely been impacted by the number of New Yorkers that have gone from. Where they may have gotten the virus and gone down to Florida. Where they than test positive for the virus, so knowing where the viruses originating is obviously a big part of all of this, and certainly the biggest outbreak by far in the country has been New York, but many other places have had New Yorkers. Who have moved in Florida's the number one location for that so again I would just look at it. It. If you look at the data on Florida, Texas, which are Rhonda, Santa's and and the and the governor of of Texas, whose name I'm forgetting put actually went to vanderbilt law school, where I did so I should definitely not be getting his name, but there Republicans and they've had a good response in a good success, and certainly in Ohio dewine has is a Republican so I think in general. What I would like to believe is that we've had a fairly nonpartisan success across the board with trying to stamp this thing down the best way to do that. Going forward is going to turn I think into a big political hand-grenade. Because I think that trump and some republicans are going to be more inclined to want to get the country back to work and I think some Democrats are going to say no. We can't stop what we're doing now. Because we risk a further outbreak by the way, let's go. Let's go politics just for fun because we're both busy guys and this Saturday podcast. Last time we did some politics, so let me give you my theory I never bought into a Bernie Sanders, and here's why. Bernie's revolutions women. Are Powerful voters in America. Women do not believe in revolutions. Women are about coalitions are lives. Build your wife, my wife. They build networks through our kids in our communities, women have a medical issue. They create race for the cure. There is no race for the prostate. We don't do that Okay Bernie Sanders. Is All about a Revolution Elizabeth Warren to a lesser degree was about a revolution. There's been so much tumbled with trump. I don't think people want a revolution I think they want is boring. Joe, Biden is mostly. We know Joe Biden were comfortable. He doesn't you know he'd rather not have debates, so biden separates because to some. He's the anti trump whereas Bernie. There was a trump like. Clean the swamp Bernie growth. People just don't want all this tumbled in their life, so I think Biden is the antidote to that right? He is little lower key got his controversies. But, he doesn't want debates so you and I both very early on felt at Biden would be the guy that is my theory. Why Biden won the minute. He got momentum and South Carolina. It's really truly what everybody wanted. which was a low key? Candidate! That's my theory. What is your theory on why Biden, and what are is chances going forward? I thought initially it was going to be Biden. Because all the things that you just said bye to me. IS THE ANTI TRUMP? And he's a guy who will take this look. This election is going to come down to the big ten states. There's going to be a lot of noise about who's GonNa Win Texas or Georgia, or we're expanding the map and everything else. Ultimately I believe come November the determination of this election is gonNA come down to you. Tell me WHO's GonNa Win Pennsylvania Michigan. I'm not even sure Ohio is going to be that tight of race, but we'll see what happens in Ohio. Wisconsin maybe Minnesota if there's going to be an expansion of the race there, depending on who Vice President Biden is going to pick as his number is his nominee as his running mate. And so the big ten going to decide this and this I don't think it's enough attention. Donald. Trump won Michigan Wisconsin and Pennsylvania by seventy seven thousand total vote. Isn't that incredible amazing? That's the lesson, the number of people who go to the big house to watch a game in. Than the number of people who go to beaver stadium to watch a game in Penn state less than the number of people who go to Camp Randall in Wisconsin to watch a Wisconsin game that is crazy so one big ten football stadium decided three different states in the big ten, so I think it's GonNa come down to that. And so when you look at when you look at. The data I would be stunned if it's anything other than what happens in the big ten states deciding this election because the places that voted for trump and the places that voted for Hillary ninety percent of them, maybe even one hundred percent of them are going to break the exact same way. com the. Come the election in twenty twenty and so. I love of following this, and and look I I was anti Bernie very much, and so when the Tennessee primary happened on super. Tuesday here. We have open primary I can go in and I can vote in the Republican primary I can vote in the Democratic primary. We don't have you know a defined party that your member of and I voted in the Democratic primary for Joe. Biden because I wanted. Wanted to vote against Bernie Sanders and I would have voted for Donald Trump against Bernie, sanders and I'm not trouble that we've talked about this off the air. I'm genuinely not troubled by Biden versus trump because I think that we're not going to get that revolution. You know I'm the same way I the way I look at. It is America's spoken. We're not into the young candidates. Mayor Pete. Harris better aerobic. The the country rejected. Those were not into the revolution. Candidates Elizabeth, Warren and Bernie Sanders were into these you know part of the countries in trump who's pro business and part of the country just wants less tumult. Right less chaos, so I think there are two clear choices here and whoever you want to vote for. I think the way to beat trump. If you're Biden and I think you're right, I, think if you if you beat trump if you're biden. The thing. Let me go back a step. You were talking about Bernie and trump a lot of people who are political experts are blown away by the fact that in New Hampshire. For instance, there are a lot of people who are deciding before they go vote in the primary am I. GonNa vote for Bernie or am I gonNa vote for trump because they find that to be crazy, but that is an emotional response. Bernie wanted and provokes that response among his diehards. Diehards much like trump does I don't think you out. Anger Donald, trump. Right, and so I think Joe Biden's best angle in order to beat trump. If I were sitting down trying to advise him I would say you don't try to make Donald Trump into the worst human being ever existed..

How Penn State Is Cutting Greenhouse Emissions In Half — And Saving Money
"Welcome how can a community grow in population while cutting carbon emissions that is the challenge facing the whole planet in the fight against climate change NPR's Dan Charles reports on how Penn state university is doing that from the top of beaver stadium one of the very biggest stadiums in the entire world you can see just part of Penn state's vast and beautiful campus he picked a spectacular data come visit the new rob Cooper is the university's director of engineering and energy we've got six hundred major buildings here over twenty two million square feet parking lots with thousands of cars the couple of gas burning steam plants for heating we have our own water system wells we have our own waste water plant basically it's a city with sixty thousand people and students on campus a lot more when there's football. and like most American cities it runs largely on fossil fuels releasing hundreds of thousands of tons of greenhouse gases every year from those steam plants from power stations far away that supply electricity from the cars the people drive to campus from aircraft that faculty take to conferences. state has added up all those emissions over the past twenty years and it makes kind of an amazing graph twenty years ago the line was going up up up the university was growing more people more buildings burning more coal and gas just like the rest of America and then you get to two thousand four and the line suddenly changes direction it starts falling like it's rolling down a mountain and it's been falling ever since even though the university still growing yeah we've been pretty successful over the last fifteen years I wanted to know how it happened so I went to see professor Chris you'll in the department of biology and my I guess Passionist with ecology in the mid nineteen nineties you'll helped organize a small environmental movement on campus there were students calculating greenhouse emissions from specific buildings looking at technical alternatives when we unveil these different reports we would meet on the steps of old main which is you know and stuff like this big center the university and lots of people showed up you know the press was there they put the university under pressure and as it happened these activists had some allies deep inside the university administration building engineers maintenance guys led by a former navy officer named Ford striker who was in charge of buildings and construction we've seen a lot of evidence that global warming was a real thing and we you know we were concerned about it striker pulled off a classic bureaucratic move he convinced the university president to declare environmental stewardship an official priority the pressure from students probably helped this give them leverage inside the administration he got the university to set up a fund to pay for upgrades that cut greenhouse emissions it took awhile. to get the budget guys and you know in the finance guys to agree but you know we're like they they had to be convinced that it was money that could be paid back yeah heck yeah I mean we had to demonstrate to we're actually saving money and this is what turned around that graph of greenhouse emissions a whole bunch of projects that cut the university's demand for energy and they typically paid for themselves within ten years through lower energy bills rob Cooper who worked for strikers as some what they did was really basic like fine tuning heating and air conditioning systems and you'd be surprised what you find when you try
How Penn State Is Cutting Greenhouse Emissions In Half And Saving Money
"How can a community grow in population while cutting carbon emissions? That is the challenge facing the whole planet in the fight against climate change. NPR's NPR's Dan Charles reports on how Penn State University is doing that from the top of beaver Stadium One of the very biggest stadiums in the entire world. You can see just part of Penn State's vast and beautiful campus. You picked a spectacular day. Come visit. Didn't you rob. Cooper is the university's director of Engineering and energy. We've got six hundred major buildings here over twenty two million square feet parking lots with thousands of cars a couple of gas burning steam plants for for heating. We have our own water system wells. We have our own wastewater plant. Basically it's a city with sixty thousand people when students are on campus a lot more when there's walking and like most American cities it runs largely on fossil fuels releasing hundreds of thousands of tons of greenhouse gases every year from those steam plants from from power stations far away that supply electricity from the cars that people drive to campus from aircraft that faculty take to conferences. Penn state has added up all those emissions over the past twenty years and it makes kind of an amazing Graf twenty years ago the line was going up up up the university was growing more people more buildings burning more coal and gas just like the rest of America and then you get to two thousand four and the lines suddenly changes direction. It starts falling like it's rolling down a mountain and it's been falling ever since even though the university still growing yeah. We've been pretty successful over the last fifteen years. I wanted to know how it happened so I went to see Professor Chris. You'll I'm in the department of Biology and my guest passion is with ecology. In the mid nineteen ninety s you'll help organize a small mall environmental movement on campus. There were students calculating greenhouse emissions from specific buildings looking at technical alternatives. When we unveiled these different reports we would meet eat on the steps of old main. Which is you know? It's like this big center. The university and lots of people showed up you know the press was there. They put the university under pressure and as it happened these activists had some allies deep inside the university administration building engineers maintenance guys led by a former navy officer named Ford striker who was in charge of buildings and construction. We've seen a lot of evidence that global warming was a real thing and we you know we were concerned about it. Striker pulled off a classic bureaucratic move. He convinced the university president to declare environmental stewardship and official priority. The pressure from students probably helped this. This gave him leverage inside the administration. He got the university to set up a fund to pay for upgrades that cut greenhouse emissions. It took a while to get the budget guys in You know in a finance guys to agree but you know we're like they. They had to be convinced that it was money. That could be paid back. Oh Yeah Heck Yeah I mean we had to demonstrate mm straight to we're actually saving money and this is what turned around that graph of greenhouse emissions a whole bunch of projects that cut the university's demand for energy and they typically really paid for themselves within ten years through Lower Energy Bills Rob Cooper who worked for striker says some what they did was really basic like fine tuning heating and air conditioning questioning systems and you'd be surprised what you find when you try to tune up buildings. HVAC system. It's one of the shortest paybacks consistently three to five years on on every building that we go into in the central heating plant. They switched the fuel from coal to natural gas. They installed new energy saving motors and windows this here. The university signed a deal to buy electricity from a new five hundred acre solar farm. Here's Andrew Gut Berlet Penn State's manager of Engineering Services. Every time we looked at added before the economics weren't there we could not get solar power or any renewable energy for less than we were buying it off the grid until now now penn state's greenhouse emissions now are down by a third compared to the peak in two thousand four in a few years with solar power rolling in they should be down almost fifty percent which which seems really hopeful because in principle any city could do this. The country could in essence. We are demonstrating that this can be done to notes of caution though I I ben States not irregular city with thousands of homeowners making their own decisions it owns all the buildings and heating plans. It can make decisions that take ten years to pay off and the second caution is cutting emissions in half is good but it's not enough not if you're really trying to stop global warming so penn state has a much more ambitious. Just go an eighty percent reduction by twenty fifty. Some people on campus are pushing for one hundred percent so I ask shelley mccaig the person at Penn State. WHO's in charge of measuring those emissions. Are you going to make that goal. You're asking me we we need to. I mean do. We have a concrete plan to get there. We we do not and there is the country doesn't either but they are studying lots of possibilities figuring out how much each one would cost what it would accomplish so far. They are on track to reach their goal.

"But I am kind of sewer deliciousness of adult beverages. No, you're right. You're right. You're right. So I was you know, I'm always going through looking at things checking things out looking at attendance of stadiums. Average attendance for okay again. Michigan was number one. Wasn't a surprise. But the big kit is well represented in in this. Let's is too. But the big ten is well represented in that in that in that area, the top three many Michigan over one hundred ten thousand. Yep. And of course, just like. Grab a teen says that during the game thank you fans for showing up the exactly strong. Then you got Penn State over beaver stadium hundred five thousand. And then Ohio State over one hundred to one. And then you go down the list in Nebraska wraps up the top ten at eighty nine grand, exactly. Like, you said SEC comes through as well to the Bama one hundred one LSU, oh, just over one hundred thou- AM ninety nine Tennessee and Georgia. I mean, they're the only oddball this one Texas ninety seven thousand but again. These are these are big time house. Would be higher. I would have thought so too makes you wonder stadiums. Not that big. That's what I'm thinking. I think it's just that loud. But they don't have the capacity. Right. But I mean, it does it does shock that that Oklahoma is an on that top ten list. It is a little perplexing. It does make you wonder if they expanded it out where Oklahoma would would fall into, you know, would they be number eleven or number twenty. You're right. I figured that. They're in the top top fifteen. Being the top top fifteen. But it's just it's interesting information that I like to throw out there find out different things like that. And you know, it's always good to see Michigan being number one in the attendance. And everything that we've spent when you're when you're in a list of top ten of anything. That's great to see her you notice how we stick that. Oh, yeah. I'm always doing things trying to figure things out make sure we're identified somewhere along the line. But as far as that list goes nothing nothing really surprises me mean Tennessee's on that list. And of course, I mean, Tennessee, even though the record may not show it there, a well you well renown football school. So it doesn't surprise me there in that top ten I think the other one that kind of surprised me they're not on that list. Notre dame. Notre Dame stadium. How how would the capacity is at Notre Dame? I think it's grown to maybe sixty. But it hasn't really. No. It's not a big. It's not a very big state. Okay. Okay. It's always been quote, unquote, half the size of Michigan. Oh, always think of it in that that scenario, it's always the half the size. So and Notre Dame fans hate this. But they can't wouldn't Notre Dame. Their state McCain and looked at Michigan the way Michigan built their stadium. Okay. And then it was like a replica. This is when everybody was friend friendly and everything like that. Now, they don't like to say that it's a replica of Michigan stadium and different things. Like that makes sense. That makes sense. I mean, if I were our Notre Dame and found out that people said that your your stadiums a replica of one of your biggest rivals. I'd be a little ticked off myself too. I guess I look I won't be friendly. You know, all I'm saying is. It's just something else. He just look at different things, and it just. You don't wanna you don't want to confess that it is. But when people ask why is it Notre Dame there? There's the reason true makes sense. So I mean, I'm not trying to dog come out. They just didn't build their stadium. Huge Notre Dame as a small private school. Really? If you think about it. They are you're right. You're right. So with that being said, it's not like they they they're reaching out. Or, you know, maybe they should involve the community a little bit more different things like that. So it's just it's just there. But I wanna get into. What are we going to get into? Now is a good question. When are we going to get into, Jamie? Hey, you know, me, I always got things above Lynn, you know. Oh, yeah. Mm always talking about different things. So hold on a second. I'll get you. Okay. Well, why are you looking our remind the people that were at four thirteen each year on street the grand opening of the new seven eleven. What what what facility is this again, the Balaji boundary love? Yeah. So that's where we're at. And we've got. They got free stuff here. Sign up to get yourself some free stuff as well. They got gift baskets. They've got you know, the for free. They've got the beer pong table. They got the nice little summer lounge chair handy. This this this the next three days ago? Yeah, totally no. I mean, I'm just saying I mean outside get you get your ten on ten. I mean, get your tan by by tan. I mean, you're you're you're win tan on plus you.
