"And chenault. He's he hasn't proven a ton yet. So there's really a good opportunity for marvin jones to slip in and get a good chunk of targets are gonna be a lot of targets available for that offense this season and maybe may have james robinson at running back. Getting some of those car gets do chart getting some of those targets. Chenault getting some of those targets. But it's really was fast guys down deep deep threats threats for quarterbacks so he's not gonna take up as main targets as you think so there is. There is a lot of targets available in that often. So i really liked the opportunity for marvin jones and with the lions last season. You said he was somewhere around the eighteenth best receiver in fantasy football and this because he had like nine hundred nine hundred fifty receiving something like that and nine touchdowns on the season prior. He had like seven hundred fifty. Eight hundred receiving yards another nine touchdown campaign. Sa- guy who's gonna be able to produce in the red zone and he's overall a super consistent receiver. He's not flashy which i think. A lot of people aren't high him because he's one of those guys. This constantly goes under the radar but with trevor lawrence. His quarterback i. I see a lot of potential for marvin jones. Next season in the fact is only getting paid like seven million dollars a year less than aj green. I mean real. We really don't former teammate. Yeah i'll say it's funny. You bring up just about to say the same thing. Like i think one of the reasons why people psychologically don't white marvin jones is because you know he put up wide receiver fancy wide receiver to numbers play next asia. Green you know he so obviously he's not gonna look as good. Thanks to a hall of famer you know. And then he gets picked out by the lions and then he goes he plays against. I think he was on the other side of mega tron. You know at the time and are is there that or he was replacing matron. You're not logo. You're you're put up against another hall of famer know and then you go to you. Got kenny golladay. Only other side you know and people will get a they last year. I mean a lot of people are hayden on this year but everybody wanted to. People were talking about him in the third round. I thought it was crazy. 'cause him in marvin jones when they've been on the field for two years this the sample size this to over three years now. Born jones basically commanded the same amount of targets.

If you want to join the fun on this Sunday evening, we will be heading to Pittsburgh and just a little bit to discuss what's next for the Steelers after their disappointing performance in this Postseason the way they kind of fizzled down the stretch wasn't just tonight, but they were kind of sluggish down the stretch the entire season. But let's take a look ahead. Tomorrow. The end of the college football season. Monica We get college football playoff championship national title game We made it didn't know the season was gonna happen. Didn't seize. It was gonna happen. Um one team participating. Didn't start the season. They had plans not to play college football. The big 10 if you recall, But then the SEC and the SEC in the big 12 started playing, and I think the big 10 looked around. Said Well, we can't be left out. We're gonna join the funds Domo. They got in on the fun. And then there was the whole issue of the Buckeyes not playing enough games to qualify for the Big 10 championship, and those rules got amended. That guy's been surprised and upset claims it in the semi final. And here we are Alabama and Clemson tomorrow night to settle the score. We've already talked with a couple of guests here on game night for us. Conley thinks the Ohio State is gonna pull off the upset Andare buddy from Columbus, who we talked to from the Columbus Dispatch. These things. That the Alabama Crimson tide are gonna win a close but high scoring affair 40 to 39, I believe was the Final score that was predicted there. How about Mel Kiper Jr? Of course, ESPN draft guru. How does he feel about how Bama's online might hold up against Ohio State's D line? Again might be able to compromised. The Ohio State front four dominated and really got after not over. The quarterback was disruptive in the backfield against the run, So I thought the offensive life Clemson was overmatched. Alabama's offensive line doesn't have landed Dickerson but the best offensive line in college football still really good. The key. There's going to be to me pressure up front. Father's quarterbacks in the middle of the field, disruptive them along the interior. That's Tommy Toki I and Haskell Garrett against that new center there was in for landing Dickerson and held up against you against Notre Dame. But will he hold up? Chris owns against Toby, I and Garrett. Question. Mel. Great names. Toast. Yeah, about Bear Jones, who we chatted with last weekend on game night. He, of course, a former center for the Alabama Crimson Tide. Here's his thoughts on Nick Saban's ability. To adapt and how that makes him the best. There is. Look made Nick Saban. Great is that he is maybe the most adaptable coach of all time, like he's always trying to figure out What's next? You know, there's been a lot of great coaches that have come. They've had one run where they've done it a certain way and then time kind of passed them by, But he's somehow has managed to change over time offenses. Defense's And a little bit, I think in his personality, but the point is that I think that part of that is the recognition on his part that hey, cultures in a little bit, and I need to be a little bit more this way. Because this is this is what the players today really likes and enjoy. Sarah Jones, ESPN college football analyst on Marty and McGee. And how about former Ohio State Buckeye? QB Cardale Jones number that name. I can't bail Jones. Not so great quarterbacks say that he had He had his moments early in his career didn't quite make it in the NFL. But in Ohio State legend how he feels about the QB currently for the Buckeyes, Justin Fields and all the hoopla surrounding him. Lead into this match up any zero. I think we're I think you just go out there and you know what you've got in your facility. You know, they got a nasty go out there and show you show everybody the best thing work, no matter what I mean, all the noises just know that's what is it? They got him versus person. But what? Look what happened? All right. Sounds just like an alum straight up like in alone. He does. He's obviously got a bias. Barrett Jones a little more, um, diplomatic about his bias since he's got to be, but we'll see who's team Who's all the modern? Comes out victorious Monday night. Eric Jones is Alabama Crimson Tide or Cardale. Jones is Ohio State Buckeyes. I guess now it's our turn. We've been promising it. We've been teasing it, and here we go. Let's get predictions. For Monday night, Bama and Ohio State Ladies first, Monica. Good. No pressure. Mm. I, too am aligning with our good buddy force Connolly, and I think Ohio State Brings the magic Was that first game in 2021? Yeah, can't keeps the magic going from the top of this year into the second official full week of the year. Um I can't quite explain. Nothing just fills goes off again on. Yeah, I'm going. Ohio State new score for me. You have a come on now you can throw. All right. All right, All right. All right. Let me think about anything high scoring affair. High scoring affair for sure. For sure. For sure. I'm gonna go 13 Hey. 30. Or 35. 38 34. That was the first thing I will go there. 38 34, the Buckeyes, the Buckeyes. Okay? I'm gonna be on the other side of this. We'll make a friendly wager here. I I'm gonna take the Alabama Crimson tide. I just think they have been the best team and Constable all season long. Mack Jones, obviously with Heisman winner Devante Smith, they could be getting Jalen Waddle back. Who is dynamic receiver as well, Just making them even stronger. Um Nagi Harris. I mean, there's a chalk Filled with guys were playing on Sunday. Like the coaching matchup to favor Nick Saban. Obviously, because of what he has done on guy, I really do think that we just saw Ohio State's best game..

"The clip that is It's almost unstoppable. So will they stop Alabama? No, They're not gonna stop them. They're gonna score 40 points. The question is, Can Florida you know? Put up 40 something within my mind and No, The answer is maybe I mean, they have the talent to do it. I certainly think Alabama defensive Florida found them is a more complete team, you know, but but on on Florida's best day and maybe on Alabama's worst, I do think that Ford is a team that could beat him. The reality is you look around comfortable right now, and you have to have elite quarterback plate. If you want to win championships, There's there are maybe there'll be a unicorn every once in a while, but again, just with the way the set up is that what with the way offense Is being played right now. The archeo game that the importance of the quarterback position If you don't have that elite table caller, you're gonna have tough, tough time competing at a high level certainly afford to have that right now, and they have the weapons offensively. With guys like pits. I think Grimes is the guy from Florida who's not get enough credit. He's a really good player, obviously hilarious. Tony is one of the best receiver for the country. In my opinion, there's they had a lot of weapons on that team. You may be other factors. Don't say that. I do think I'll never run to the ball. Much better than Florida for whatever reason for his office of line. They're pretty good group in pass protection, but they really struggle in the run game, So it's mostly trashed this year, so I think Well, that is a album is certainly more complete. They can pretty much hurt you in any facet of the game, but But I do think that because of the talent of traffic on their best day, they could be Alabama. Big question. Bear Jones Joining Peter Burns and Katie George here on best week ever is what the Big 10 decides to do with Ohio State. If the game against Michigan cannot be played rumor. Michigan is dealing with the covert outbreak right now, and the Buckeyes need to have at least six wins, according to Big 10 conference rules to qualify for the championship Now very Alvarez kind of cracked the door open yesterday, talking about well, we might revisit that. Do you think they do revisit? And how do you think that the committee's gonna look at perhaps a five on our six? You know Ohio State Buckeyes squad Look, I'm looking at Apple 30 because you know, it's just the reality. There's no doubt in my mind that someone will be mad at the end of the year, but I might also kind of what they possible fun. That's why I've always been a proponent of four. Seems over. It is because I kind of liked the fact that someone always feels left out that my company, but I think it's I think it's just great television and I think it's great. You know, there have been so many years where we're talking about. At four versus five and we're all upset, or half of us are upset about who they put in the number four team and call the number five. Teach B and so I feel like we have a situation like that coming regardless. Because it's impossible this year toe really make true comparisons. In my opinion, the committee is gonna have to rely on the eye test more than ever. Okay. The other reality is there's a lot of money on the line. And one of the main reasons that the big 10 put their season back on with vehicle high stakes won a national championship. Let's just be honest about that. That was a huge factor. It was very vocal the whole time that they wanted to play. So do I think they could change the rules? Absolutely idea. I mean, look, we just saw a situation where a team to team scheduled game in, like, two days. I mean, what's to say that Ohio State can't go out and Hegel some random game. Like what if they call Cincinnati and say, Hey, you guys wanna play? I mean, I don't know that's gonna happen. I'm just saying, I think everything's on the table right now, and it's a year unlike any other where you might get even like Hegel yourself in the playoff s O. I do think that it's on the table. I think certainly they could change the rules of has taken schedule. Somebody else who knows what can happen if it's the wild Wild West this year, and I'm doing what I think it's fun. Let's go. We just hold coastal Carolina and BYU. How about this Ohio State? They can't play in the Big 10 championship game. The SEC calls the big 10 and say, Let's do this Texas A and M versus Ohio State. Let's make our own playoff game and then they slide. That's the game that I want. Sounds awesome. The only problem is they'll never have never. I'm not sure. How did you know? I just know. I don't know if I still I got says that even if they only play, you know whatever. However, many games like that they'll probably still get in. Just because I do think the committee you know she's just a field. They use that eye test that And I think that they probably think they're better offense, the text saying them and maybe a little more completed I might get is that they still put him in the lobby, right? I have no idea, but it's just that my gut He is gonna be on the call. Also for dolphins Bangles Today. Coverage begins noon Eastern on most ESPN radio stations in 30 seconds or less to a starting today for the Dolphins. Yes, no. That's the word on the street. You know, I'm kind of disappointed. "2014 Tigers are on the board. How about them? L s u tigers on their celebrating the two to fire after that incredible, incredible play. From T. J. Finley. Keshawn booty ls you scored 17 points, Katie what again? I mean, just just the heart of champions yesterday. Your best we do You realize how many points Alabama scored correct. Might have turned it off. After about Coco and hopefully, knee and Had saw. It was 48 to 10 at half and frankly, it could have been a game in which Alabama could've scored 100 if they wanted Bear Jones called this He was on my serious accident showed this week and he joins us right now, via the shelf pins are performance line on best week ever bear. You said there might be a little bit of revenge for the Crimson Tide against the L S U Fighting Tigers in Baton Rouge after last year. Is that what you saw in the field? Well, that was one of those incredible interest I've ever heard. TV. I love your positivity. Your true homer is, um it's beautiful of voice said that Pettiness is part of what makes a college football great. And you know, the little pregnant. I will say you did over stays a little bit. I think it was only 45 10.5. No, don't get carried away too much, but no, No, it was 45 14, actually. So you know it. Look, it was a bloodbath. I think we all knew it would be a blood that I predicted to Kevin winner who was our studio host? I said Kevin, I think it's gonna be they're gonna cover by halftime on. Sure enough, I was right. It got ugly quickly as Alabama score touchdowns on the first five drives and frankly, Just kind of get down after that. I'm not really sure they would have ever not toward. I have had just kept the pedal down. They kind of slowed their tempo down a little bit. And, you know, took again called the dogs off Just a hair. You know they were taking play action shot, You know, like in the third quarter when they were up 40, which Yeah, my theory on that in a conference game, you know, everything was on the table, so I don't know I have an issue with it, but, yeah, it was. I think, just as we expected, Petey. Barratt. Peter and I have been arguing all morning about the top four spots and what the college football playoff committee will do When you watch Mack Jones and Yvonne to Smith. Do you feel like Alabama is the most efficient football team we've seen through these games this fall. Well, there's no doubt and you know if you guys ever listen to his games when you have a second half like that, it kind of turned to do a talk show and We were talking last night that obviously there's the Heisman Trophy is something's gonna be debated. Probably right now between Matt Jones and Kyle Trask on I was thinking, I highly doubt there's ever been a team. It had a favorite maybe for the Heisman again. Probably. Maybe it's all stuff right now. Traffic guess would be the favorite, according to Vegas. Probably a favor for the Doak Walker with nausea Harris and certainly a favorite for the bloody coffin. Devante Smith. That's pretty wild to think about that You might have the best quarterback that that's receiver in the best running back in college football. That leads to a very efficient offense. I wouldn't have been the best off in the country all season. I think a lot of people fall in the loft deal in water that they would have to take a step backwards. No, they haven't In fact that maybe you've even somehow gotten better. Just read the season's going on Devante. Smith has turned into Ah, whole different kind of animal. He's been unbelievable. Coming into the game. He had 518 yards and eat touchdowns over his last three games. Then he put on that performance last night to add to with another three touchdown. He was. He's uncomfortable right now. Look, by the way, you know this Derek Stingley. He's a good cover corner. It's not like he they were putting the slackers on him last night. I mean, Derek Stingley is a good player. Wasn't on in the entire game, but he was on him for for much of it and look, he's just embarrassing people right now. Honestly, with the way he's playing that one handed grab in the back. The in town was that she was ridiculous. So yeah, it's definitely the most efficient offense in the country and Honestly, it reminds me so much of Ellis you last year when there's just somebody similarities When you talk about a guy like Matt Jones, who has that job, borough quality no one really expected a whole lot out of him. And then all of sudden he has this year where he takes a huge step forward, you know, and then you have the talented guys around himself. It Z pretty. It's been pretty wild to watch on. I do think that this offense right now. It's had shoulders of everybody else's offense that I've seen have called Most the top teams in the country. And these guys just have a different gear right now that some other teams don't have. Former national champion and now calls games were on NFL in college football for us on ESPN Radio Barrett Jones joining us bear when you Um could you argue this? That while I do agree, the Heisman Trophy winner will be pretty much crowned at the S E. C championship game between either Kyle Trask or Mack Jones. Both of those players are not the best player on their respective team. That might go Devante Smith for Alabama, and maybe even Kyle pits for Florida. Yeah. Did you make that argument for sure. You know what? Let's be honest about what the Heisman Trophy is, and he's become Almost exclusively a quarterback a word. It's It's pretty much the best quarterback on one of the best teams. Yeah, but I do agree what you're saying. I don't think you get one of those guys get, you know, serious Heisman attention. You know, maybe you might have running backs me Kennedy. That's that's a good question. Will we ever see with the current state of college football? Will we ever see a non quarterback win the Heisman again? It honestly hard for me to think of the scenario. Just with how quarterback driven offenses have gotten s. Oh, yeah, I think that certainly, you know, certainly legit. Okay, So when you look at it, Barrett, do you feel like Florida could upset Alabama? Having watched these teams up close and personal? Uh, could they Yeah, they could. I think that look to be out on them. Right now. The reality is you're gonna have to just outscore because they really played some pretty good, decent doesn't mean they don't score 35 plus three points in 22 games. That's that's ridiculous and most of that's coming. The SEC and of course, 40 straight points and eight FCC games. Like Can they are scoring in the clip that is It's almost unstoppable. So will they stop Alabama? No, They're not gonna stop them. They're gonna score 40 points. The question is, Can Florida you know? Put up 40 something within my mind and No, The answer is maybe I mean, they have the talent to do it. I certainly think Alabama defensive Florida found them is a more complete team,.

"Betting analyst, Duckie's aeriens view from Vegas. Very rarely does this happen. But the house has an ideal situation and that the betting action is pretty evenly split on Clemson and Alabama. That's what I'm hearing from all my contacts at the point spread is settled at Alabama, minus five and a half. You may remember about two months ago when it looked like we were destined for this match up. The Las Vegas superbug posted at advanced line of Alabama minus eight that's when the tide were considered unbeatable which is no longer the perception given what transpired the SEC title game. And the fact that Clemson has looked great. So here we are with a spread less than a touchdown. And as expected a lot of fun proposition best also generating interest from the Mercedes Benz. "But in general what what k- does I agree with you parish is similar to what Sabin does as for the game. Overall. Not too many takeaways was actually the best dunking game career so far. So we're going to be focusing on what's Williams, and does and just micro analyzing it that was his biggest performance to date in terms of slamming down, which is just a frankly continually. Wow, ING and all that Barrett played decently. And then suggested mentioned a couple of things happened with the crowd here. And I guess just a general fan reaction to Duke overall one you had the fans Channing overrated Romeo Lankford, which is fine. K was like shut up shut up. Stop saying. What caves he's totally in his right to do that. And the fans are toiling their right to try and be opposing fans and try and get in Romeo's head overall. And then Schakowsky spoke about some of the criticism pointed toward RJ Barrett's way in wake of Duke losing to zag it in Maui and him going over five in the final minute. I would say like, yes, she should defend player in RJ Barrett. Like, I'm still I'm still on the RJ Baird is the best player on Duke trained, by the way, like mock draft Zion Williamson's moving into that number one spot. I maybe maybe I switched and get off that but I'm still more buried just a little bit than Zion overall. But it's okay. If we wanna point out the fact that RJ Barrett just tends to get a little bit of tunnel vision. It has to work on some of his distribution game. So cake and fight back on that totally within his right and has some valid points. But bears are really good player. But it's okay to point out. Just like, okay. Here's where he stepping in as a freshman having a few issues overall that happens with freshmen across the country. It just so happens to be that this team is getting as much attention. If not more than any college basketball team of the past half decade, essentially, and so that these commentaries are inevitable. So I wasn't surprised to hear that from shoshefsky. But it's not gonna slow just because he says something like that. There's going to be hyper focus on all of these dudes after every single game the Alabama thing you referenced it was the January two thousand thirteen national championship game. It was Barrett. Jones at the center for Alabama, my big, homey from Memphis and AJ McCarron getting into it. Alabama's up forty two fourteen like seven minutes to play and. The play clock is down McCarron's begging for the ball bear. Jones's steel calling out blocking assignments. And they end up getting a delay of game and h eight forty two fourteen national championship game was seven minutes to go. It's over and McCarron turns around starts yelling Joe Barrett. And then bear it pushes him. I mean, it was intense like as if the game is as if the game was tied. And this just cost him something of significance. And in in reality. The game was forty two fourteen. They could've taken five more delay gained penalties. It didn't matter. And yet that's a trickle down from Nick Sabin. And I would assume I don't know that saving ever talked about this maybe has I would assume Nick Sabin with tell you that was favorite moment from the national championship game. Because it was an example of exactly what he teaches and preaches, which is the scoreboard does not matter. We execute properly every play, and then we'll figure out the school board at the end if we're. Up forty down forty. You execute the same way with the same intensity every play. And that seemed like what k- was trying to instill in his his group of nineteen year olds in the second half against Indiana as RJ Barrett. There is no question that as you put it he got tunnel vision in Maui. You know, You he know, was. he was it was just like, you know, give me the ball top a key..

"And, but he's dead me huge, huge difference in their community by basically like building this pop Warner football team that he would. He bought like a bus like an old school bus that he would drive around the little community where they grow Virginia and pick the kids up. So they come to practice men. So many of those kids who maybe a lot of still ended up like working in the minds, but like a lot of them ended up sort of going to college because they then like played. Peewee football and then high school football and then college football, and they never otherwise would've. And so I think what saving in some ways sees is is what he does is like he's think of how many like first generation college kids have played football for Nick Sabin, whether it's Michigan state or else you Alabama or wherever. And so I think in a way he he kind of wants to sort of tell himself like, I'm helping kids kind of get opportunities that they wouldn't other otherwise ever get in. So the national championships are certainly how you measure like your success level in the sport, but I think the greater sort of mission would be like, you know, did you did you make the world better place by sort of, you know, helping kids kind of get enough disciplined to do well enough in school to give themselves an opportunity become the first person in their family to graduate. College, and I think that is important to him and he's starting to really crystallize that like the, you know, the foundation that he has the Knicks kids, or you know the response named after father that they donate money to so that you know using. I think a lot of football coaches, all they know is football. And so they're using football, the help of your kids away from otherwise, like bad choices, or you know lives that they would just not ever get to know other kids the same kind of way as teammates. And as one thing I think Nick is really fascinating league good at is like. Speaking to kids in their own kind of language, like even at the age, you know, sixty five like we call that like kind of code switching. But like he's so good at like relating to like kids from really tough disadvantaged areas and and talk into like high level, like, you know, football's of donors and stuff. And so I think saving understands football is in that way, kind of like a unifying force like he's able to kind of get kids to they like, look, we're all mishmash of cultures and economic backgrounds, that racism stuff. But here in this sort of small place in the football locker room or or field, you can sort of feel all the same in some ways. And I think that that is one thing that if you read like a couple of saving biographies or whatever, he has always been someone who African American kids when he was a kid like liked. And felt like he related to them and the same is true. Like a coach like these is not a person who plays favorites except for anybody who works really hard like that's the kind of people he kinda relates best to into your point. It's like when you speak to somebody who came from nothing in two thousand fifteen coming for nothing. Two thousand fifteen is the same as coming from two thousand nothing and nineteen fifty eight or whatever year he or we ever years were when he was in West Virginia. I just know that like you know to the people during time in Alabama, the he's sort of most proud of what they kinda did our bear Jones who was like, you know, a four point. Oh, almost like a Rhode scholar who came from, you know, well to do family Memphis and Rwanda. McLean who came from like really poor circumstances and had some issues like since graduating, but like grew up with nothing and those the way that both of them sort of evolve. Into like really important leaders in his program. He I know he speaks glowingly about both of them. Having talked to him about both of them and their those people are those two guys are from such different economic racial backgrounds that that's kind of I think savings like ideal in terms of like,.

Jerry Jones says an 18-game NFL season would be better for players' health

"Of. Previously we were talking about the preseason and maybe cutting that down and changing and adding games of the regular season in the NFL because Jerry Jones talked about that earlier today on a radio station in. Dallas I'm not for. That I think adding to the regular season stupid if anything add to the, playoffs but the regular. Seasons. Perfect the way it. Is I have been. Since We are talking college football along with the NFL tonight the constable has, no preseason right they. Kind. Of they have their. Scrimmages against each other Half. The team plays the other. Half by the ones that kind of stuff right so I have, a there's a there's an origins podcast out there it's called the origins podcast they've been going into a deep dive into what makes Alabama, successful and what makes Nick Sabin in his prospects process. Successful interviews with bear Jones and Greg McElroy and saving himself and all this and Alabama. The ones practice against the ones in pads every day. Now I know you can't, do? That in the NFL because of labor laws or whatever What are. You, frowning upon labor laws I'm just saying it's your job to your job every day I'm just saying collective bargaining agreement whatever do your job So In, college they wear pads and practice top guys against top. Guys every single day, go. Preseason we're ready to roll every week is a playoff week at you can't tell me that if Alabama loses to Louisville on Saturday night that their season's over it's almost, over they might still make the. Playoffs but if how about, this if Washington loses to, Auburn Saturday, afternoon Washington season is, over they will not make the. Playoff, yeah I I can guarantee that that's for. Sure. Okay surgery for some teams every week is. Apply that's what make college. Football. Great but my point is that they don't have, preseason they make it work so you don't just. Need you don't need to just substitute games with meaningful. Games don't add to the regular season in the. NFL there's no need for. It you could take away two preseason. Games would you as a season ticket holder pay the difference if they just got rid of two games and they added like five bucks to each because now you're just throwing it down the. Drain you're not even attending these. Games you're Not going to the preseason so if the. Regular season games are a little bit more expensive but. You didn't have to coding co pay for the. Preseason that's fine I think. That's a fair trade would you even. Notice it if the I mean obviously you'd notice if they added ten bucks each ticket but if that offset the overall cost is the same what does it matter it doesn't you don't go. To the games anyway it doesn't. Matter So what difference? Does it. Make I agree but the owners would. Never agree upon All the other things those,
