"Everybody welcome back to. How did happen podcast. I'm very grateful that you are here today. And i'm glad that you listen. I'm glad that you subscribe. And i'm also glad that you share and you are definitely going to want to listen and share this one because like like you do all of them thank you. But today i've got jeff i should ask you. Jeff is baidu. Is that how you say your last name. Jeff do and i i. I should think justin breen for connecting. Jeff justin is sort of my master connection pal. Everybody that he finds interesting. He sends my way. And and that's how jeff. And i got connected but let me tell you a little bit about jeff. Jeff is a parallel entrepreneur and a wealth multiplier. And i i'm going to have to ask him what. A parallel entrepreneur is. Because that's the first time i've heard it. He's a licensed certified public accountants and founder and ceo of of batu enterprises lc which is a multi national conglomerate that owns multiple companies and. We'll get into some of that. I'm sure jeff's purpose is in. Life is to inspire and support a super hungry to take hold of infinite resources in order to create an abundant lifestyle. I love that. He's extremely passionate about financial literacy and currently host various financial literacy workshops throughout the country. He's a public speaker and an author and lives in chicago area right. That's okay. Well jeff i start every podcast with the same simple question and that is how it happened for you. Yeah so. I mean with that definitely appreciate you for having me my I think it's critical to go to two story in that for me. I was born and raised in ghana. Which is on the west side of africa. And i came to the united states when i was eight years old actually came with my older sister who was sixteen at the time and my parents are already here so basically we migrated to the us after my parents and unfortunately we were put into the neighborhood called uptown in chicago for those. Who don't know uptown is or where it is. It wasn't the best place to put a young child. Let's just say especially one who just came to america now no fault of anybody because you don't know what you don't know however what happened. Was that there. Were there were times in my life where it was very very tough so during those years between eight through sixteen. It was extremely tough. Because i have to get used to a new environment find friends that were like minded and unfortunately the type of folks that i was hanging around with where people who you wouldn't necessarily want your child to be around right so it was a very very tough time. I learned of time right. I learned a lot. You are the experiences that you go through in life but at the age of sixteen hours able to turn things around. That's when i discovered my purpose in life which is to inspire and support the super hungry to take out of infinite resources in order to create abundant lifestyle..

Mindfully Letting Go of Shame by Leo Babauta of Zen Habits

"When i said shame is in very helpful until the full truth. Actually it's very useful in showing us what we think about ourselves when we feel shame usually is because we've done something that we think says something shameful about us and so it shows us where we believe. There's something wrong about us. Something inadequate ugly mon- worthy of love. Of course that belief is not true but in order to let go of that ingrained belief. We've to see it. I shamed shows us where that belief lies hidden. I'll give some examples for my own life. I've been over eating lately. An old habit of mine which has led me to feeling overweight and not sexy. This is brought up feelings of shame about my body and lack of discipline. The shane says that. I believe i'm ugly and undisciplined and therefore inadequate and unworthy of love. I went through a very busy period. Lately where i dropped all of my cherished habits for a few weeks like exercise and meditation and accountability. This brought up shame for not again being disciplined but also not practicing what i preach. The shame says that. I believe i'm undisciplined. An impostor inadequate and i felt a lot of shame when i fell into debt. This brought up shame that showed my belief of being bad at finances. Batu taking care of my family bad at being a father and provider and again inadequacy and unworthiness of being loved in the end. The core belief is that we are inadequate and unworthy of being loved. But the reason we believe those is that we believe. We haven't lived up to some expectation being successful being lean being disciplined being generous being a contributor to society being environmentally conscious et cetera. The expectations are in our minds but they were given to us. By societies messaging since birth these expectations and beliefs are not so solid. As we believe once we can see them. We can bring mindfulness practices to work with them. Mindfully working with the beliefs that cause shame it can be helpful to write down the beliefs that are causing us to feel shame or to speak them aloud. Perhaps to another person like a trusted friend or therapist getting them out of our heads helps us to get clear on them and sometimes saying them out loud can make them feel a little. Silly found the true for myself saying a belief out loud to another person takes away some of its power. Maybe shows me how hard i am on myself. So once we said it out loud or written it down. Let's look at how to bring mindfulness practices into the equation

Overtaking and crucial strategy. 'cause we retreated to batu throughout the failed impressive drives from the likes of landowners. I'm sergio perez. Meanwhile elsewhere the day didn't go quite to plan with. Dns finicky to mazar pin on fernando alonzo contact with guiseley which ultimately ruined his race. Another tough day for sebastian battle. "We Yeah I think we talked about it a long time ago. Katya is from two thousand fourteen. Take the time wasn't right. I don't think it's Microsoft's fall. I don't know and also the cloud is evolved a lot. Yes bends dance and that that's why Google and Microsoft and Sony everybody thoroughly and all of a sudden yeah yeah Google Stadia will probably becoming out even sooner I would thank them. We'll see October fifteenth. Is there big if for some reason I thought that was cut November but maybe I'm well. They might say October Fifteenth Eighteenth November. I you could play okay. I don't know I don't remember 'cause founders. Edition pre-sale that I thought was for in November but that doesn't Superman. I mean look at our video. Gaming is a bigger industry than you know movie making in Hollywood. It's huge right so the problem is to date to get into this business. You had to do with Microsoft. which is you come from behind? You start making hardware. You lose a lot of money and you kind of build up. The relationships get the game. Mm Studios going developers onboard. It's it's a huge investment. obviously someone that works lost to happen. We have only service but when you can cut out the hardware are in D I mean it's it's a completely different situation so it's not surprising that all the major car cloudplayer's. ENGA- makers are going to be involved in some way as this thing switches over to service so we shall see well there. You have it. That's it. That's all there is to say. It's finally happening. Yep windows. Let's do some windows ten. Where do you got for me yeah. Let's let's I seem to remember you guys. You guys noticed this but I seem to often get into the situation where yeah I get shot for being the Messenger so in this case there is a guy who used to work for Microsoft who is turned into like a youtuber and and he has created east credit a lot of us videos about programming and whatever technology topics. I think they're kind of goofy but whatever he can do his own thing but he was part of that team. At Microsoft I got laid off twenty fourteen two thousand fifteen whatever the and he has now published a video explaining why the the quality of windows ten has been so bad over the past four years and if you can get past the kind of presentation I find it like a little painful but it's very clear that he is absolutely on the money with what has gone down with with what has happened. There which is that rather than having human beings running automated made a test they have virtual machines and they have telemetry and they just they used to have meetings every week where people would come and say can we move this build up the chain and people would explain why they could or could not support that and that just kind of you know created a a a higher quality situation than what we see today which is they ship build old and the ship of publicly to insiders of which there aren't really that many and the testing doesn't happen on the same level a lot of you know of course this. This is not anything against the insiders. It's not their fault but you know I think a lot of these people. You know you're not gonNA send in a book report unless something is catastrophic right. It's particularly annoying. Perhaps and it's hard for them to duplicate it because they don't get those massive dump files that you know. Microsoft needs to require their problems so it's just a you know it's kind of a self replicating. Hey we saved a bunch of money but whips you know I think history speaks speaks for itself. We've had three major releases a windows ten. That did not go very well at all. I saw that guy's video pop up and there's a few people who are laid off as part of that round in two thousand fourteen th that happened to Terry Meyerson and if you're I'm looking looking back at what I wrote about it. Because they the the way they explained what they did was they said instead of having dedicated aided testers program managers and development engineers are going to be taking on new responsibilities quote unquote like testing hypotheses so that they would be writing their own tests and testing against their own tests. They actually said that that's crazy and there's there's this notion in Microsoft of south hosting right where you are running the latest bill to see if they're you know dogfighting whatever you WanNa call that and a his contention. Is that that in today's Microsoft like a like a lot of people. Just don't do that anymore because that really didn't really concerned with what's going on with the client. They've got their own things. They're worried about you know right. You think he's got an ax to grind. Though I mean yeah I mean of course I was thinking that too. If I get laid off by my employer I would be very angry about Batu right okay except for one thing by the way yeah. You can't discount that aspect of it. He didn't make this when he got laid off. He made this five years later. This is the one hundred and seventeenth video he's made or something like this was not high on his priority list like I. I I think more important though is it. I look like I said I I find his style a little hard to digest but it's a you to being you. Just we understand about this generation of whatever that's fine but I don't think it's fair to discount something solely on the basis of the fact that he may like for example a thing that you just showed like I feel like he's on on the wrong side of the windows ten privacy debate for just for example but I I'm looking at this objectively. I think it's clear to me is very it clear that he's correct about what's going on with ten. You know like I said history speaks for itself. Gills as well. Mary Jo is information that corroborates what he was saying about what has happened inside of Microsoft Attorney Meyerson right so you know for good good better indifferent like the won't be cynical about it and I can be I mean you know Terry took over windows and it was like how can we save some money. You know an impact the bottom line in a positive way and unfortunately the short term thinking right and you know they've Hattie. We know teams. They come around two teams and they're like okay. You need to cut X. Percentage of your people you choose where you want to cut that was that was that stack ranking thing that they used to high. That's mostly Steve Balmer awful that was like survivor. You know get voted off anyway. I don't think they're ever going to bring dedicated hated testers back to you know. I don't know no no no. It's worth I when they I I will say when they started the windows insider program one of one of the things I really liked about it was it was part of an effort by Terry and his team to kind of reversed the secrecy based strategy of the their predecessors assessors. I thought that was an important and good thing to do. I think opening up windows development of the community is a good thing. You know generally speaking but what we're seeing happened since then of course as you know they get weird about it. It's like what we're GONNA do a lot of AB testing and so you're signing up for the specific rain you're supposed to get all the new features and whatever version windows now. You're not getting them and I think they've they've over time. Because of these changes which probably were the result of the quality is not where we wanted it you know they've kind of made it bad for everybody that's kind of always had uh-huh accumulates and so over time what seemed like a good idea and then you add something else and yes it was done for the right reason done for the right and then and this is the McDonald's principal right. Ray KROC didn't invent McDonald's to make America fat. He was solving a problem I know and he was latching onto a trend end of the day where people all of a sudden we're in their cars a lot and we need this new type restaurant. You know and the insider pro that'll be. I'm not equating the inside of over with a be city but I mean but rather with but it literally was created for the right reason and it still is a good idea. It is a good but ah you know for example one of the things I have said remember from our debates about things like windows ten home users can't delay updates. Ah You know they weren't able to do that for a long time. I had said for a long time like look. They have enough data now. They don't need to make these people guinea pigs but you know as it turns out. I mean they might have held back on not giving them that capability for Sawn because they really didn't have that data. the activity level in the incentive program was was probably not high enough to to do that but you but then you have this unfortunate situation where you're on customers. Are Your Guinea pigs literally. That's the that's the phrase we've used right. Where if my you know in the old days? Microsoft would ship version of something. It was a version of windows. It was a service pack. It was the thing had been tested to some degree and it just went out. It didn't go to little groups. It didn't go out in this kind of weird way where it's like well. We're GONNA phase it in and we're GONNA see how it goes and if it goes back we're GONNA. We're GONNA pull it back back. You know like how how inept in a way. Do you have to be to be to be so unsure of your own software that you can't do shit like us to be able to. It's kind of a weird situation. You think we making actual customers guinea pigs but when you think of all the combinations and permutations of in what version of you running what hardware and how old is the hardware. What do you have hooked up to the hardware. I don't think they can ever test everything obviously or even close close to everything. Windows has always had that millions of combinations of hardware configurations. Whatever the only thing that's really changed between now and nineteen ninety-five aside from the sheer number of machines right is now the ship new version of windows every six months.

"Like that Phillies up in the Colorado Rockies attitude on that is in the ninth inning now. So those are a couple of scores in the National League. Barry bloom joins us of Forbes magazine Forbes dot com. I like this ballpark. You like it now. Thank you very much. Very bloom is now in the house. Well, when they when they felt it maybe a little bit too big. Yeah. I think what they're the whole future for this is that, you know, they redid the whole lease agreement with Maricopa County as part of the settlement, and they can get outta here by twenty twenty five now. So they're researching other venues and places in the city in the county to build another ballpark, what they need to do is they need to go down to Batu Miami Marlins size thirty eight thousand with an ice roof as part of a ballpark district. And I think that's what they're researching now. I think the lifeline at this ballpark. Now is very short. It would work here. I like it here. But I agree with you. It's a little bit too big Barry bloom with us. Forbes magazine Forbes dot com. This AirAsia diamondback team again. I think they have a direction, they signed Escobar, they made the big Goldschmidt, trade. Adam Jones, of course, very late. And he's been terrific here for them. Martinez is in a second and center Peralta here. You got a med. Got Christian Walker. You gotta veal of finally found his bat somewhere grandkids done. Well and Mike point to you is this. When I watched them, they have a plant, and they seem to know what they're doing. Do you get the same feeling fares on them? I don't think there's any doubt that from Mike Hazen, you know, through tar heel Avello. No, these guys came from Boston together. They know each other really well. They've got a very strong and efficient baseball operations department that got twenty analytic guys are constantly, crunching numbers, you go down to the Diamondbacks, dugout. There are ipads, in the dugout with, with everything they need to know that they referred to all game. You can use those in the dugout as long as they're not connected Atta the duck. So to me they've been very good at. Replacing parts I mean, when you think here, you know, Stevens is out for the season with a knee injury, Patrick Corbin left for free agency, Goldie was traded, as you pointed out. Polygon but he's out now again. So really no loss. But they had to really generate a different focus for their offense. Yeah. You know, and they've been able to do that, because Martin as evolving Mets turning into a golden glove shortstop, you can hit and piecing together enough pitching just to make it work. You know, to me, I'm not sure that at some point as the injuries pile up the trap door doesn't open for them at some point in the season. It's too early and they were twenty eight last year and they fell apart in September. So to me the jury's out on their story, and we'll see how the placebo plays out, but by may eighteenth. They're still a story and they're doing fine. And I like what I see they're hitting the ball really well, and that's where the giants really at our disadvantage within, they're not gonna hit with them. And they've got a pitch with them. And maybe Bumgarner tonight. You get that done. But. For the Diamondbacks. They've scored tuna thirty four runs seventy more runs than the giants. That's a lot more runs. But that's been the giants problem for several years now. I mean last year they had the best pitching in the National League from July first on after Bumgarner came back, and they were spurring two and a half runs a game they can't generate runs anymore, which is really what Fara needs to figure out and plus the pitching era right now is four point five five. So that's gone up as well. And part of the reason for this eighteen and twenty five record looking at Arizona. Looking at some of the good stories of baseball today, and I know you've been spending a lot of time in New York today, Tampa Bay beat the Yankees two to one and eleven Blake Snell Tanaka last night. The Yankees come with an amazing comeback Tampa Bay and hit the ninety nine mile an hour guy and beat him the night before the Yankees wanted the night before as well. If Tampa Bay. Maybe that was. Thursday night tomorrow. Chapman had both saves right in that game. All right. So my point is this, the EPA banned the Yankees. It's a good baseball series this weekend, and Boston's playing Houston. So it's a huge American League weekend. And you look at New York there's focus on both the Mets and Yankees right now. And the Mets who lost tuner on Miami really Micky Calloway's on the hot seat made about a week ago. Jeff wilpon cult in his general manager has manager and read them the riot act basically said it's got to straighten out I think Calloway might be the first manager to get fired. And with the Ke's I mean, they've done it with mirrors guys have evolved or shallow who's who almost won that game again today with the ball is caught at the fence. I mean he's been I think the biggest fine for them and he's a guy they just picked up from Toronto. They purchased from Toronto last August. If you look around the Yankees, it's all the who. They who Cashman has gotten in deals and trades. There's really nothing that's come up at this point through their farm system to help them. It's all what he's done to put the team together. Yeah, good. Baseball story, Minnesota's good baseball story in American League Tampa Bay. I think we saw, then we saw them both out here. Obviously Tampa Bay giants less to three in the Yankees swept the giants when they were out here, but it made me think about it. Nothing. Other thing that I was thinking about there's an article this week about batting average is anyone care about a batting average anymore. I made a big deal about Bellinger, hitting over four hundred to be the first dodger to hit foreign of this late in the season, since maybe you a Dixie Walker. Way back in the forties. But does anybody care about batting average anymore? I agree with you. Of course. Batting average is still important because it's it's an element of, of Opie and Opie. Plus, you know, the fact is that an on base percentage? You know you have to have hits and walks, and that's your on base percentage. So I mean, you can't discount it completely, but because Opie as Opie plus are somewhat more dominant in the vernacular these days, I think, batting average diminishes and really, if somebody's hitting to forty, but they have an opiate that's up around eight nine hundred you know. It's very satisfying in the way the game is being played with launch angles and exit velocity. And upper cutting and hitting home runs and striking out. Yeah. Look at Dave Kingman, or Joey Gallo, give you those two names, the, you know, right. Probably just what you just described, right. Low batting averages high of Joey gala. This is the highest PS in the American League. Well, and Gary Sanchez for the Yankees is another one. That's about two hundred he hits home runs runs. He looks awful most of the time at the plight, but he does what the need him to do. So the three hundred hitter, is it a thing of the past there? We just don't think about it. I don't think it's a complete thing of the past. And when you look at it, and you see or shell batting three fifty a lot of those hits are winning games. I don't think you can discount it completely. I just think it's a completely different game with, with chefs, especially the shifts lower batting average because you're plugging holes. Where guys are have a tendency to hit and in the old days when you played straight up those would be base. It's he'd have a higher batting average. So all of this contributes to where we are on, on this stuff. Yeah. Fly balls trying to hit more fly balls at our caught the outfield. Interesting part of baseball. Barry bloom with us. I don't know if these things, I think about every once in a while, and it just the batting average thing just hit me. All of a sudden. I said, I don't even know leading the league in hitting. That's what I saw Bellinger today. I got excited four oh four. And I didn't even know that it. So I looked at it today. Well, he hit, I think four hundred for the month of April. So I mean this isn't something that's been that has has it been out there. I mean he's had a terrific starts at the season in all phases. Yeah. But they're talking homers, an RBI. They're not talking his batting average until now the four hundred. So that, that's my point with that. You are an expert on the San Diego Padres on Twitter. You, you are the king of Twitter, the San Diego Padres. No, you get a lot of feedback from. From the fans who follow you. But what's going on Kinzler had an outburst with the fans the other day got a big fine because of it paddock looks like the real deal their pitching rotation. Coming back to earth a little bit. They have the pirates today and the pirates are going to have another opener today and March Aventis is pitching for San Diego. What's up with the Padres? Well, I think the big thing is that hasn't played for them for something like three weeks and it started as a hamstring injury day to day they put him on the disabled list, didn't say was going to be too long and then it's just been protracted and to me as much as I love the guy and I think he's a terrific talent in the last year. He's had came out of spring training last year with a stomach ailment and he batted blow two hundred at AA last year. Then when he started getting going dislocated his thumb sliding into second base miss the rest of the season. Now he started off really well this year he's batting took about batting average. I mean he's not blessed in the ball away, but he just gives them an element in the way he plays short with Machado at third that they don't have any to me. As a five till player with the best of the tolls is speed. I mean I haven't seen anybody go first third. I home with that kind of speech since Dion Sanders. So I mean they're playing without him. And now they're pretty much close to being back to five hundred because of it, and I think with the pitching as you pointed out, you know, paddock and strong, and, you know, marching, this is they're all our lower Lucchessi, the only guys who came into the season with any sort of bigly experience. Then that was like twenty starts each the rest of these guys never pitched above AA, and eventually, you're going to see it because they have pitch counts on these guys, they don't go past the fifth or sixth inning. And they're burning out the bullpen. So you know it's not a recipe for for long-term winning. But I think it puts them in a position where they're building blocks or solid and they can move forward for the future. What happened Kinzler row is that all about, while again, my friend? Is on Padre Twitter in the stands have been making his life miserable because he was batting under two hundred and he's got pretty thin skin, obviously. And so when he hit the three run Homer the other night that won the game for the Padres who came around home plate. Yeah. Obscene gestures, screaming at the fans cursing. The fans apparently as the story rans out because back down on the field. And he's, he's cursing at the fans behind the infield down the right field line. So all these stories are coming out and, you know, it's just in a place where you're trying to build a fan base, you don't want your one of your guys to be ripping the fans. Now. Here we go..

"Bocce from oracle park and last night of Latin America railroad junior. We'd heard so much about him. He made his major league debut right after the chance left. Geraldo last month and thinks it not necessarily been going that well for him. He was hitting only one ninety one only one RBI in two weeks of play. But it all came out last night to very long home runs. I think he reached base four times in the game. And talk about the ball jumping off somebody's back. What was your assessment of what you saw from Guerrero last night? Well, I didn't like what I saw with the mistakes that he got. But yeah, I think he showed. We'll know why he's gotten all the hype why he was the top prospect in baseball. You saw how to ball came up as bad. I I saw his dad hit some of those balls. And it was it was impressive. The first home run. I mean netball was smoked. And and then of course, he to other balls the home run in the base hit me. I don't know what to be come up to bat was. But you know, over one ten sure, but even file ball he hit. So it shows you to credible bat speed. This guy has how dangerous he is. And in our as a matter of time before he did break out. Unfortunately, it was against us. All right. And they have another young guy who will be hitting right behind him who's from Sacramento area rowdy till as in there. And he was pretty impressive. When the giants another Jay's back in April. Yeah. Big power till as he make your pitches on him. Fact, he kind of flipped one up left field wall. I think of shark in that series, but press Batu and big strong kid. No that can do a lot of damage when he went to Oakland hit some really good at bats sairy went straight away center one on a breaking ball. And so this kid you gotta make your pitches to or he's on do some damage on you. All right. So the giants with the finale here today the giants and the Jays and so far so good in terms of the weather. Stay to giants. Baseball is next..

"Get out my face. So I can of my pre deal Pala. Yeah. Some soul bay. Yeah. This is. Yeah. I mean this Bobby Brown. Pilot looks nice. It's fifty nine bucks is eight of the exciting shades and to base shades, but they say so of skin bay shades. But obviously, they are both white. Yes, straight away. I mean, already we're like on you. That's the problem. Of course, the industry, we know about that. We're trying to not personally because we bought like Jordan, wishing it wishing to way and we're trying to geor tension to the situation. Exactly. But yeah, this is going to be a big thing. I think this you just it's weird because I do feel like it's listening to feedback from people saying, oh, I always run out of my base shade. I or the transition color tries humanity ones that the kind of lend other shades with that the same time, it doesn't feel especially exciting. It's just a fan. I it's like we said before in the past. If you don't have a really good classic nude pilot or a pilot that has shades the kind of very monochromatic and great for kind of shadow highlight, just creating general definition. Yeah. I than any of these would be. Great. But it might what do you have any stash leads to see like your listen to this. You definitely have. Well, it just want to touch on the logo thing that we were talking about earlier and also your dog who is quite. The do because he wants to commit because he loves us so much Paddington. How do you feel about the blog is turning down? PR products is not anything say what we go say. No, he's not just very exciting in that case. How do you feel about this? I think I really respect the people that are doing this. I think especially the people who props let's say art make party. So there's no need for them to have thirty shades of foundation, gifted to them, they probably want to three max, you know, that are going to be around weather skin tone is knowing that they could I'm sure request. Another didn't match them. I think it's really interesting especially with the injuries going. I've said it before, you know, I think the pressure now for make parties hairstylists in the injury is to have such an intense falling on social media to even be included in press releases. And that is a problem because sometimes talent isn't always at the forefront. That's not to say people who don't have huge followings. Have the talent also? But I think when things become about numbers it becomes less about. You know, I think as well, trusting someone's opinion.
