Building the Next Napa Valley In the HIMALAYAS With Wine Expert Michael Juergens

"Lot of people have dreams like i have dreams. Kate has dreams. People listening to this podcast. They have dreams. But there's a difference between having dreams and actually feet on the grounds accomplishing dreams. So let's get specific like let's really talk this through. Because i think fire nation can maybe learn from the action that you're going to be taking about great ways. They can go forward accomplishing their dream. So how are you accomplishing your dream of building the next napa valley in the himalayas recognizing once again that had didn't start off as my dream to be involved. I just thought it would be super cool if they did it But then once. I once i became involved in realized i could be a piece of this and actually i think that bhutan is probably the last country in the world. That has the organic potential to grow. Amazing wine grapes. That doesn't already do it. Most places that can do it had been doing it for thousands of years and it was just to your point earlier. It's remote. And so you know marco polo and the roman army never got there with their handfuls grapes and so they ever planted in there. But what i'm doing is is we've taken a very collaborative approach with that. The country You know there's a. I don't know if you're familiar with with batons spent some time and and obviously the himalayas but they have a concept called gross domestic happiness instead of gross domestic product which is an amazing way to live. But they believe that. What's more important is the happiness of their citizens rather than any arbitrary economic success and so they have different pillars that that guide the gross domestic happiness for us. What we did is. We didn't approach the wine industry as like. Hey here's a way to make a few bucks it was. Here's a way that we think that this mashes extremely well with what you're trying to do with gross national happiness. And and then we went around and we got buy in from all of the various ministries of the government. You know that would have a say in this. The ministry of agriculture the ministry of economic affairs and so so on and so forth so we started with that then. Obviously you know. There's a enormous amount of logistics to try to get grapes up to the himalayas in vineyard plant. And but were. We've planted eight vineyard so far were up to about. We've got a hundred acres or so in total vineyard land but only about fifty acres are planted where we're still trying to experiment and see what's going to work there because no one knows it's never been done before and so you know back to your tactical what do you do. Well you do as much research as you can but eventually you just gotta grip it and rip it and and so we're doing that but we're doing it in a very mindful fail forward kind of way.

Bears' Andy Dalton: Looking Over Shoulder at Justin Fields Worst Thing to Do

"It's all anyone has been talking about. Andy dalton the biz. Qb one starting. Sunday night against aaron donald and the ranch yesterday dalton addressed his mindset heading into this season with the rookie justin fields waiting in the wings. That's the worst thing you can do is look over your shoulder and so i think that's understanding that is is key about tuning out the stuff that you don't need to focus on and knowing where you need to put your time and effort and all that kind of stuff. I think that's just where i'm at and you don't worry about all the the all the stuff i wish you all could have heard that as he was talking. Bart scott was laughing aloud. You were just just the grandma for example which is often had hard had obviously been completely washed oliver and one of my one of my colleagues said that he thought this was the worst. He's ever seen granddaughter Now maybe we should be surprised. It is an incredibly incredibly powerful hurricane and so we're not surprised On the other hand just to see the flooding. The devastation was heartbreaking in thankfully the levies. That protect new orleans held this time. Unlike what happened. Sixteen years ago during katrina. But senator as you well know. The power is out for a million people and businesses across the state and could be for weeks. It is very hot d. Do you feel like this could be a situation. Where many people survive the initial storm. But perhaps not the disaster that follows. Why don't think they'll die as long as they commonsense precautions but to your point the aftermath. We have to take care of just as much as we did preparing for the storm itself.

Sleep Quality and Fasting: What to Watch out For

"First question is always. What was your sleep quality like before you started fasting and mrs critically important. I can emphasize nothing else throughout this particular answer to this question is that if you're not sleeping through the night before you start fasting. Do not start fasting. Our bodies Benefit from where medic stressors beneficial stressors. But there's a very fine line for where that falls for each one of us so if you're not sleeping through the night then you're not gonna get the beneficial rest that your body critically needs in order to Rust rejuvenate you know all the brain physiology the baddeck system that kicks in at night when we give us waste and recycling process in our brains the boosts and growth hormone so getting back to the original question so if you were sleeping well before he started bouncing and now you're not my questions are always. What is your age because if you are a cycling woman you know. You're in the peak of your fertility years in under the age of probably thirty five. Thirty six I wanna know where you and your cycle because sometimes there can be sleep disturbances as you get closer to ministration so the five to seven days. Preceding your period. You should not be fasting. So if you're having trouble sleeping. Ben it may very well be because you're blasting because it's just too much stress for your body at that time If you are not getting enough food into your feeding window and i don't count cowers. Don't encourage to count calories. I talk about macaroni. Because that is what is most important. Our body doesn't recognize calories per se. That's a unit of measurement our body recognizes urging baton carbohydrates and so. Sometimes people make the mistake as they are transitioning to intermittent fasting that they don't get enough food in and their feeding window and part of their problem is that their blood sugar can drop and they may wake up so my question is always. The Mississippi River Basin Model

"If you took a walk a really long walk from baton rouge to omaha. It's safe to say would definitely take more than sixty minutes in the real world. You'd have to be an enormous giant to do that but at the mississippi river basin model. Everyone's giant that's because the model squeezes sixteen states the parts of those states that are all connected to the mississippi river into a couple hundred acres of space to reference. That's about the size of one hundred fifty football fields there. Ever based model is a physical model Physical hydraulic model of the mississippi river basin. This is sarah mcewen and the reason she knows so much about this model is because she's trying to save it. It doesn't go to the headwaters but it is kind of stops at key points along the tributaries that The mississippi river main line would have had backwater impacts. So you have like tulsa omaha nashville. These are all kind of key points that are the upstream reaches and then you have those rivers that flow down until they converge join the mississippi. And then you have the mississippi all the way down to baton rouge about half a century ago. The city of jackson mississippi took it over from the us army corps of engineers but by nineteen ninety-three. It was completely shut down with no vision for its future. It was in the middle of a park. Say you have soccer field. Do you have go kart track. You have mountain biking trails but to my knowledge besides kind of mowing it initially to keep the trees and education contained. That was really all that was diet. Doctors and nurses are treating more covid patients than ever before. Almost all of them unvaccinated like 61 year old Douglas, Alan, you don't have this story after nearly a month in a hospital bed We asked Allen if he changed his mind about getting the shot. Probably 90%. Yes, I still have that little bit of what the heck is going on? That kind of doubt is all too common. Even for people like nurse Jordan Miller. I have family members that refused to get vaccinated. I tell them that we're building new ice use every day and that we've gone from 24 beds. Almost 100. We have people in their twenties and thirties who are dying, and I have yet to convince Some of my family members. I'm

"And as the placebo has got more and more involved re karate. Jeff became more and more of a fixture in the families orbit. You have to remember. Jeff is only twenty four. He's a young guy and he doesn't know anyone in baton rouge so we're sure. He's thrilled that his family is welcoming him in and he's getting the sense of community that most people crave jody's parents were thirty. Nine year olds. Gary in june and they really liked jeff in the boys saw him sort of like an uncle figure. One particular time jody's at gary brought jeff home with them for family dinner and gave him spare clothes to change into and after that jeff would start bringing the boys home from karate he would take them tournaments as well as other fun activities connected to the fight team. There was real trust built between jeff in that family but on february nineteenth nineteen eighty-four that trust would be shaken to the core was january nineteenth. Nineteen eighty-four it was a sunday morning. He asked my my little border. Cork this is how close this family had become far each other's cars and things like that jeff told jody's mom that he didn't have his car because his brother dropped him off and that he needed his car because of some business dealing with having to do with down with his brother. So jody's mom. June said sure or the car. Jeff said he'd have the car back soon and then he laughed but he brought jody with him. They did meet up with. Jeff's brother. Mike in port arthur but it definitely wasn't to conduct any business. We drove out to his brothers. Mike house grab some clothes and sleeping bag and other stuff and we took my mother's call from gonzales. Louisiana support arthur texas and. That's where his mother and sister live. That's where he was from. Okay so why. The hell is jody with jeff on this excursion. And what exactly is going on here. Here's jody on what happened next. We say we just sunday night. And then the next day we went to another port louisiana looking for money basically. We didn't have any money. Okay so let's unpacked. Some of what is going on here. Jeff borrowed the car belonging to the mom of a little boy. He teaches karate to he said little boy with him but they don't go where they said that they were going the grab clothes and camping equipment and then jeff takes jodi out of state and we assume that right now alarm bells are probably going off in your head and have been for some time. Now they're going off and ours too but remember it's nineteen eighty four and it's unclear at what point jody's parents would have realized that jodi was actually missing and it's not like jeff had a cell phone that they could call at anytime of the day so at this point. Just imagine the paralyzed state of jody's family. Who do you call. would you do. And how the hell do you track down your kid

Alabama SEC Football Predictions for 2021

"Feel like discussions of national championship should be perfect segue when we looked to break down the defending champion from season ago and paint. I don't think it'll surprise anybody. When you look at alabama fan duel sportsbook there less than two to one to win the national title there an overwhelming favorite to come out of the sec west at minus four fifty. And when you look at their win total. It's eleven and a half shaded to the younger. Of course we know that the most electric offense that we've seen in tuscaloosa will not bring back a lot of their key. Playmakers nausea harris and of course devante smith taking their talents to the nfl combining for fifty five touchdowns last year. Mack jones get gone of course as well. But it's rare if you're a team in college football you bring in two former. Nfl head coaches and bill. O'brien and doug marrone to help pass the baton to the next heir-apparent embrace young under center. I don't know how much they're actually going to do. Or how much you actually want him to do. Listen nick listen. Nick and hope that they can keep players on the straight narrow that are collecting seven figure paydays at least on the books under an i l. arrangements compared to Bitcoin trust and everything else. They used to collect in the past the one thing with alabama that they've adhered to under this offensive. Change the last few years is that our offense is not changing. If you're coming into the sabin rehab program you're going to adapt to our offense or guys aren't constantly learning new systems and it seemed work but when i look at alabama's dominant they've been with nick. Sabin the only one back to back championships wants it. Feels like with his system. Continuity plays a large role. And that's something alabama's offense that you alluded to just doesn't have this season now. No one's feeling bad for alabama the way they were crew. But you're replacing. Six players drafted in the first twenty four picks five on offense and totally replacing three starters along the line to starting receivers a tight end and a quarterback and it's not just the players four offensive assistance. Four offense of analysts. They've all moved on. So alabama's offense is gonna regress. That is not a question. It's happening the real question for me. Is how large dip.

"The referee awesome later on. Lebron took to twitter and said courtside cairn was mad mad. He's used to having career. You probably get noman crazy. He's he's just grateful. Fans are allowed back in there because he likes the interaction for him to say they should have been kicked out like that just shows how mature he does. He's a he's like almost telling you. I kind of noticed that on the side. But i guess the referees had to do with the head to do the he's like it's an argument between two grown men so it's almost like he's okay fighting with the guy like he's like here. You can always looked at being basketball game like you're at the movies you're you don't yell at the screen. You're watching the basketball game like it's not like the fact that you can break that wall and talk to lebron like you can shoes and he was okay with it. It's so weird. In lakewood said karen some surprising things yesterday. obviously it was a big surprise. Screech passed away forty four and they like just announced he had cancer so yeah obviously All of the cast of save by the bell started weighing in and i found a clip from two thousand sixteen so from four five years ago. there was there was kind of like a lot of rumors towards the end of his life in the last five years that the cast did not get along with screech. Screech did not like the cats. They had a lot of animosity but in this interview he basically says there's nothing but love. I haven't seen mark paul. Until i was sixteen. I haven't seen tiffany or elizabeth since then either just like to give them a hug and tell them how proud i am of what they've been doing and ask for forgiveness for any kind of misunderstandings that may have come about. Everyone started the telephone game the rumors all he wasn't invited. No i want some there. No one likes them so after that it was like. Oh he's the bad boys bidder. He hates everyone he's really haven't that's the farthest thing from the truth. Dash probably make them feel better at Yeah but obviously sad. Because like they had the whole saved by the bell reboot and he was part of that. There wasn't a by to be a part of that either. The thing i was reading this morning about dustin diamond to is that he had a lump on his neck that he knew was there but he nord it and then when he was having trouble breathing that's when they discovered stage four cancer so that helps anybody. You get that stuff checked out. Yeah don't ignore stuff like that for sure So grown star khloe and haley singer. Clean halley Khloe actually took to her instagram. Because i know a lot of people put celebrities on these pedestals and it's almost as if they don't have feelings but this was kind of one of those moments where you just go there human too and they're dealing with a lot of scrutiny at i mean all kinds of people saying the worst things about him and she took to her instagram saying she wants to be a role model for women. But it's kind of been. It's been a tough road for her. Every woman out there. Don't change who you are to make society feel comfortable. I really noticed you would talk about my ass and for so long. I used to think i was like fat. And my eyes. Hate my stretch marks on my cellulite. I'm not gonna cry but it's like now. I really love who i am. Oh jeanette video everywhere and khloe bailey from clean halley. They're like basically beyond as proteges. Nothing i'm going say man being like beyonce's artists like there's a lot of pressure that comes with that and you know beyond seems like a perfectionist and then you're like in her shadow so yeah it's gotta be it's gotta be a lot so it's interesting we were talking about. I can't remember what show we talking about. But john o. Wendy williams movie johnny. You're telling us that the the woman they picked to play wendy williams is like very gorgeous beautiful. It's like you would pick brad pitt to play you in a movie like okay realistic for second. Okay yeah. I mean much better fit. They're so snoop. Dogg was also asked that question like who he would pick to play him in a movie. I don't know who could play me when i think of someone playing you. I think of how jamie fox play rain. So i would have to find me jamie fox or somebody that can actually become snoop dogg on screen and i don't know if that person is out there. That person has yet to be discovered. But when i get to that point i'm we'll find him. You'd have to find an unknown or the person who played snoop in straight outta compton. Yeah he was good. Great like okay. So i would pick zach. Play me or brad pitt. let's see who would you pick out for you. I don't know that's tough question easy. Who adam sandler chasing today. What are those two pre trial leslie. Man she's really funny player. He's funny cameron. Is i can see that. Go kevin hart. I would pick becky jean becker. Gpa he would be a good you. The other place star. Kristen bell would be a good her be keila she shares your you kind of have a similar sense of humor as recently we're talking about what about the number you think he's saying he'll play. Pass being old okay. I love he can really like tom. Brady you're so excited about hearing from tom. Brady should have paid more attention to his career for this year. Last twenty years. I have an autograph my son and i don't remember this story and i don't remember. I don't remember if i ever met him. But the have an autograph football from tom brady. That is in my son's room. Remember meeting him. I don't remember meeting him. I don't know how i got the ball. I don't know but you know. There's a part of my life where i was around a lot about football players so i don't know i would think and i know that sounds. That sounds pompous or stuck up. I just don't remember. I will accept clueless. But i wish that i if i'd go back in time if i met him like tom brady now. I know i tried before i had kids you paying. I think so. Because i don't remember i don't remember holding a ball i'd remember signing or just in kemp's rue and they don't remember it remember. No i don't think so anyway so we're talking about things that you say wrong yesterday. So courtney's tells something she says ron coming up. She's listening to the yesterday's on demand podcast. So we'll talk to her next john rich if we talked about this stuff on the air we'd straight up yet fired but since its own a podcast. It's totally cool. John jane rich afterwards on iheartradio or wherever. You get your podcast. Jane rich according to you are on the air all right so i heard yesterday that you know the guy called in 'cause from colorado people don't say us right and it reminded me of my third grade spelling bee okay. Hold on us not u. s. e. like use these pliers guy right okay and so you saw. It reminded you of what my third grade spelling bee. What happened so i get up there and they go kay the word as us and i am freaking out. I'm like can you use that in a sense. I don't even remember what the response was. But then i said i got this us why o. U. f. e. you are you in colorado. I am asked backs up what that guy was saying us. Oh you guys us. Guys come into the super bowl martin's guys coming over. You guys never lived that down. Oh tell me corning you guys. Also you've probably never forget how to how to spell the word you misspelled and his long bridge for me. It was always bridge. "On one today at second date. Update john rich. Only all right. So i saw this on instagram. Usa of lebron. James getting to fight with the fan. And i saw all over instagram. And i thought why does popping up. This has to be old because fans aren't allowed into the games. But nee i was incorrect. Mondo what happened. Kyle and the lakers hawks game. Last night there was a couple. Juliana and chris carlos sitting courtside. And it's interesting because you're going to hear both sides you're going to hear the fan side and lebron side but as people were watching on tv the the announcer staff to stop down because everyone was noticing. This we've got a lot of john gone on the front row. Look that and now. The security is getting involved. Referees are actually telling the security they may want to usher somebody out of the building. They might be gone. I think this was happening. Also somebody was all over lebron. They're still on the run. I think that's what it is a few minutes ago. And i know he was glaring into the seats so apparently chris the husband. This fan is hawks fan. And he's got a big problem with lebron james and him and lebron got into the spat they got into words and then chris his wife got involved and that's when things got heated and lebron calls her later on courtside karen. This woman is actually an instagram model. And she took to her instagram afterwards to share with everyone her side of the story. I'm minding my own business having fun. All of a sudden. Lebron says something to my husband. And i. And i see this and i go. I stand up. Don't talk to my husband. And he looks. Media's sit down they don't me she use the data here and joe talked to my husband like that and all of a sudden. Now i'm getting kicked out. Excuse me. I have courtside seats that i pay for you. Lebron your to get the data here. You're gonna let a twenty five year old girl intimidate you during the game. So she obviously game was very worked. Up postgame lebron pretty much brushed it off. He kept his cool. He was asked.

Okay the lips will were pursuit. They looked like. I should hold onto them if i was ever drowning and oh i didn't see them your masters. Jeez well you have a moustache so you can't exactly talk 'cause like you look like you have to be six hundred yards away from school at all time. Okay this one on your stash. But you didn't call me back because of my lips okay. you know what. I'm just telling you something that no one me. What do you want me to say. Hand calling you back to let you know. I was just hoping you just go to figure it out yourself. Oh man i don't like you at all that's mean pettiness. I just. I just think i deserve to call back at minimum at minimum. You should have answered my message. And i like my lips and i'm sorry you don't like them but i'm gonna keep getting filler so you know i don't. I think this gives me my the answer i wanted. I was what i needed to know. But i didn't waste any more time. Yeah good luck and think about not doing filler. I think you're you're good without it but whatever that's that's up for me i just want you know in the future. Maybe so the guy your lips before you sit down and he pays for brunch still route. I feel like it's going to be a hard time finding a girl the like you I i'll give it a shot. I don't know i'm just saying i'm sorry can be does not work for me. Well i do my lips for me and not for you. So i'm gonna make me happy. Good that's all that matters. Goodbye ascher ascher. Goodbye guy. sorry. Sorry but back goodbye. Didn't work out a okay. Well i feel like you're better off without him. Yeah for sure you'll kenzi it sucks but you know whatever if anything you would have been fun like you'd think he had a more positive attitude to try to kiss you with those big lips. Would it be like you know what i mean by. What do you have to put one mouth on one upper lip on i mean what would they be like like my wife gets. It'll filter on her lips. Sometimes i like to chew on it. Chew on board like feel. I can feel the filler solid golf. Did she deal with you seriously. Printer of these printer gut. Their new thing. "Grant is with us in baton Rouge Louisiana hi grant welcome to the Dave Ramsey show hi Dave thank you for taking my call today what's up a look on Mar twenty one I'm looking to get very ready to be very clear but a question is financially speaking what is the best way to know when I'm ready to buy an engagement ring and was at the to go about thirty one cool when you're ready how much do you make about eighty five thousand you're good for you what do you do operator in the electrical industry cool very cool show on how long you been dating her yeah we've been dating for five years and loss will speak out yeah obviously wow very cool very cool so anything about getting married hopefully within the next year too okay cool on it well do the jewelry stores are not in the financial advice business there in the jewelry business and so on I will give you a different number than they will give you okay the rule of thumb I use when you're buying an engagement ring is no more than one month's income which is a pretty stinking nice rang in this case okay so I mean your take home pay is what thirty five thirty or thirty eight hundred Bucks a month yes there are some like that yeah okay that's nice ring and it's it's not a five carat but you're twenty one years old you're getting married who cares right okay so I mean thirty eight hundred Bucks and and the and here's the thing the easy you know learn a little bit about anything you're going to put money into and as you start to shop for diamonds you'll learn about clarity cut carat and so forth I'm afraid I have a lot of dollars tied up in diamonds none of which are on my person that means there on the other person so but I've learned a lot about it and I will tell you this don't fall for the if you get this one it'll go up in value more it's clearer you just don't want something that to the naked eye when waved around under somebody's nose is noticeably bad color or noticeably a bad cut or noticeably has flaws in it okay for clarity and so color clarity and cut that's and can't read of course care is the size and so forth so it's not an investment I own a bunch of them we've never sold any of them and they've never gone up in value in thirty years so that's a bunch of crap okay the only thing they're good for is it makes the girls smile that's all they're good for okay so and they're worth it for that because my girl needs to smile and so every so often she gets one that's how that works okay but they're not good is an investment on that's just a bunch of garbage okay shot what we got a we're gonna get a deal I never buy a perfect stone but I never buy a junk one either I try to land in the middle and I learn about it a little bit before I get into it a really good place if you can land somebody in your life that knows a little bit about diamonds that will go with you knows of more than just a little bit you actually can finance deals on diamonds at a pawn shop there are high and high quality pawn shops out there that you will get stuff for probably a quarter on the dollar of what it would be at the jewelry store so in other words ten thousand dollar ring if you can find it at a pawn shop you can afford it for thirty eight hundred Bucks if you found one that you need that your brand new at this and I wouldn't tell you just walk in off the street you could buy a piece of glass and not know the difference right now and I don't want you to do that so you need somebody help look at it with you that knows something about it that'll help you shop around the other thing you can look for is a diamond broker someone that actually brokers them and they'll teach you and you can learn about by Lou stone offering made and it's not that expensive to do that so diamonds are a little bit like furniture they have very very high markup double triple and so you'll find you'll find twice as much stone for the money as you will it just walking into the typical mall jewelry store that you hear the ad on the radio okay are you here TV commercial or whatever and all the girls are gasping and say oh he bought it there now that's the that means you're paying for that ad so yeah if you can find a broker or upon that's a good way to get a deal one month's salary I think you can save that up pretty quick can't you yes there are all may have a small mortgage and all all the little enclave are planned for the other team cool good for you well just to finish the story my bride and I got married with a point two three carat less than one fourth of a carrot you can't even see it it's so small it's tiny and it was not a beautiful wonderful stone or something like that I bought it sheen think should get a ring so as a bonus so that was her engagement ring and I can promise you today that is has been replaced with upgrades periodically and now the woman wears a headlight on our hands so but the but she started with a point to three thirty eight years ago and it did the trick just fine there is zero correlation between the size of the diamond in the success of the marriage matter of fact there might be a negative correlation at that at some point that the diamond gets too big for the engagement ring if she requires a three carat she's probably not a keeper so yeah that kind of thing so you're gonna be just fine you're gonna have a she's got a wonderful ring you're going to be a hero and I'm proud I got to talk to you about it thanks for calling in open phones at triple eight eight two five five two two five you jump in we'll talk about your life and your money Julie is on our private Facebook page the place to go if you want to talk about Ramsey stuff the V. Ramsey baby steps community it's a private Facebook page we will let you join quite a few people in there I think it's approaching two hundred thousand and they're having different conversations all over the place now big deal the Ramsey baby steps community is the official Facebook page our Facebook community group whatever you call it stuff is there ever a time when a thirty year mortgage is better than a fifteen no if you can't afford it on a fifteen it means you can't afford the house if you currently own a house and the only way to keep from getting for clothes owner bankrupt is to refinance into a thirty yeah you'd probably do that but it's not better than there's no time I recommend a thirty year mortgage I would be tolerated in an extreme situation but I wouldn't.

"NFL countdown hitting the road live from outside Manning's restaurant in New Orleans at ten A M eastern to set the table for showdown between two of the best offenses in the NFL is drew Brees. And the saints host the undefeated Rams with us on ESPN live in Louisiana all weekend long as we've got you covered to the big easy with Thomas game day Sunday NFL Cal. College football live here from Baton Rouge. Getting you set for Alabama to roll in and take on the LSU Tigers. But the big off the field headlines were coming out of Maryland. It's been quite the tumultuous week on Tuesday, the board of regents announce their recommendation to retain their head coach DJ Durkin and then after much public criticism president Wallace Loh acted against the board and fired head coach DJ Durkan. So let's recap the time line of events over the last few months. I DJ Durkin was placed on administrative leave following the death of Jordan McNair in June after he suffered a heatstroke in team workout, though, an independent investigation found the school to be culpable. And McNair death, the border regions recommended the school reinstate Durkin yesterday. And that is until Wednesday when the school came to the decision to fire him so in twenty four hours, he went from being reinstated to being fired and to discuss the situation more we bring in Gino. And I kind of want to know what you think we've learned throughout this. Entire investigation to the decision that has come out about coach Durkin. This is going to be something that that crisis management classes study for years on how not to conduct an investigation not to. To decision that makes no sense to be tone deaf. Every step of the way, the chairman of the board of regents resigned the rest of the border regions should join. The kneecap the university's reputation the integrity of that university. And they were completely tone deaf to think that DJ Durkan could go back there and act as if nothing happened. So so to me what what was lost earlier in the week, Jordan McNair was found. Finally, we showed some respect to the death of the young man and knowledged that a terrible wrong had a little bit in one of the things you said really annoys me not what you said. But they didn't lead to this conclusion. They took months and months and months, and you can't be that dumb like you kit. How can you take that long to think that coach could ever come back under those circumstances ever, go out recruit young, man? Hey, I'm here to recruit Desmond into mere right? Player sitting someone's liberal. It was it was not my fault. It was trainers fall. Right. I mean, I just I don't understand how you could possibly take that long. And then make that decision it just everything about it was bad, and it and it's going to end up like it should have ended up. But I just don't understand why at that it's a public outcry and the governor saying something, and that's..

"Isn't it? Great. We could spread them out. You can't turn on your on your ESPN app Notre Dame northwestern that could determine a playoff. We already saw Texas. Go down there taking on West Virginia. There's a lot of big games in the slate. If we had to exclude LSU in Alabama. What would you say is the biggest game that has the highest implication and week ten? I don't know if it's the biggest game with the highest implications. But I think that Georgia Kentucky SEC is huge. And Georgia's coming off a big win against Florida going up to Lexington. I'm just curious if their mindset like do they really respect Kentucky to go up there really handle their business. They can't afford my opinion to start off slow 'cause Kentucky the team that they're trying to make a name themselves. I was early in the season. They beat Florida in. They play with a chip on this show too. So this could be a huge gaping Kentucky, if they really want to be respected in college football, especially nasty see and Georgia's coming off their best game, especially offensively Jake from really he looked great look like he did last year at times down the stretch. But I'll tell you what I really wanna see Michigan Penn State that I don't think it's that'll take the schedule set up great for Penn State because they've had a bunch of tests in a row and Bob before but everybody's starting to buy into Michigan in the last couple of years. A lot of people who've bought into some opportunities now to prove they got to say, hey this shape. Patterson offensively continued to have that heartbe continue to run the football. Because we know what they're gonna do. They always. Yeah. They gotta great opportunity Michigan. Hey, one loss teams. We're michigan. And we wanna stay at the front of the line. Do you think this is the biggest test that Michigan space since opening up against Notre Dame the season by do? Yes. Because just because go back to last year. I mean Michigan had a filthy defense. Penn State did what they wanted to do that running quarterback really throws into element of you can be more aggressive. But that quarterback pulls it and run it and trace McSorley got dang last week. But I think offense they can have a lot of success. Penn State's defense isn't something that really puts a lot of time. But it's really hard seriously. He's doing the high. Sorry analysis. This is okay. So let's say before back to Michigan and shape Patterson. He's only thrown three picks so far this season Dez, and as you mentioned just his legs being able to extend plays. How it's changed Michigan's offense. Or are you a believer in the wolverines offense? I tell you what you asked about the Penn State challenge. And I think that is going to be a challenge. But I don't think it's the greatest challenge if you look at what we get with his state right now. Yeah. I really don't know what we what we have with this team. I mean, those team that lost allow state in the game that they should one at home. And then they went on the road and lost to a beat up Michigan state team. And they almost lost last week to island in the put out that game games. I'm still not sure what we have with Penn State is this going to be Michigan's biggest test. So for Wisconsin was the big test. Michigan state is always a tough game up. These Lansing Notre Dame. Obviously, he's different bog that's two different complete different team. There was talking about, you know, play. So as as they go down the stretch you now we're starting to believe in Michigan. Is this their biggest test? I don't know if I could say that. 'cause I don't know we get with his state to be honest with you. All right. Well, either way every team that's playing in week ten is battling for a spot and the college football playoff. And we finally had a rankings reveal for the first time on Tuesday, which is great. Let's take a look at the college football playoff rankings. Brought to you by..

"And then for it to grow. Well, you could apply that same thing to the WNBA angle. Why after twenty two years is still happening? Well, WNBA franchises aren't as popular as what you have now with less MLS franchises are more valuable. They've grown the sport. We know it isn't the greatest soccer out there. But you start going to some of these games that are building a real thing here. And I don't know if the W. NBA? Unfortunately is building that same thing. So if you wanna fifty fifty split, I don't think you're gonna have a league. And I think the WNBA though is smart to get all the stuff out there. Because I think public sentiment is constantly Ben with them in the times that we have where people are more aware of diversity not just with race. But with gender in sports, you know, as I've mentioned on the top of this whole thing. How appalled I can be a time seeing what my female friends deal with also think that right now it's never really been better for women in at least my industry because of the opportunities that we're getting our our beyond anything that we've ever seen before. And that part should be celebrated and ESPN is a ton of credit for that. Because they have they've made it a priority. The last few years, and I know people probably like to make John skipper jobs left, and right, but the guy it mattered to him, and he put women seats that never happened never happened. For may not have happened had been for him NBA broadcasts and all sorts of broadcasts. You're like, man. And this is this is incredible. But back to the actual league itself. Like, it makes me sound like I'm some jerk by pointing these things out maybe to some people. But in reality like, I would wanna know the truth. So that's why dug into this thing. More and more. As far as the contracts for the G league guys. And I think one player tweeted out like can I go trial for the G league? You actually, you can you can go ahead trial for the red claws and that G league contract for the guy that doesn't want to go to college. That's really the NBA investing in a potential NBA guy down the road. So when WNBA players complain about rest making more or the twelfth man making more than them, and that we just want fifty fifty and we want what's fair. I don't know twenty eighties fair. I know what sounds fair because we have this kind of inherent thing. Where fifty fifty just sounds right all the time. But I wonder and they would never say this. But I wonder I don't I don't know. I don't know enough about the books and all that to say that. Hey. I know what the perfect split is. I know what's fair. But public sentiment is going to be behind the WNBA, and they're probably going to win back some chunk of this. I would think but here's the NBA. Would they think is doing the right thing? And having something I've sisters played high school basketball. You know, not that they were never going to be good enough to play like big time college or playing the WNBA, but. To think that it would never be like to not have a women's league. That's professional basketball league. That'd be terrible. So the NBA feels like they've done something for two decades. But yet then they have to read about how terrible the setup is. And they get trashed for it. And I wonder if there's ever a moment where they go. Hey, why don't we do this? How would we stop doing it then because some of these arguments are charity arguments? It's not about equality. It's it's I don't know if these like do people out there, do people think that the WNBA is actually making all this money in their hiding all if you think that's the case, then the opt-out has happened, and you can have ten twelve business people start their own women's league, professionally if there's all this hidden money than somebody else can go Star League, and you guys can crush it apparently make a ton of profit. And another point that was related to me that I felt was really smart. An interesting is that was some of the frustrations back, traveling all the stuff. And I'm sure that they'll be arguments to be made like even if it's a loss..

"I was just reading about the rookie transition period and how they deal with NFL players all this advice and all these different seminars. They have that. Stuff's incredible. I'd like to sign up for that. Now, not even a rookie anymore. So when I read the WNBA news, and it was happening after that G league thing, it was, oh, you know, this is ridiculous. WNBA? We don't get paid. They get about twenty based on what I've been able to read in a choir information wise about a twenty percent split. And that just sounds headline. Women get a twenty eighty split in the men. Get fifty fifty that sounds terrible. But is it kind of what it should be? I'm serious here. So I started asking around for twenty two years the WNBA existence lost money every single year. I read an article this morning two thousand seventeen Dolan Knicks owner, I know in likes them trying to sell the team forever. The can't find an owner. He's like I'm losing money on this thing of the twelve teams. They're six owners that own an NBA team WNBA team in the NBA kicks in for the money to keep this thing afloat. And so you got twenty four owners that have nothing to do with the WNBA kicking in money for six guys. Do it almost every sponsorship dollar broadened by the WNBA is rolled into some sort of joint promotion with the NBA. The attendance is terrible. Adam silver went on get up. And I don't know why get up second question when they had the Commissioner the NBA in for the NBA playoffs. They asked one NBA question. The second one was about hey spiracy with WNBA. That's that's a bad use of the commission around in my opinion. And then he flat out said attendance, isn't good. And it's getting worse. Rains are up. Here's a sneaky thing about the WNBA is if you gave yourself a chance and said, you know, maybe I'll watch us instead of just never even giving chance you're gonna like it more than I think, you would think you would because this story the storylines and this past playoff season, these games, they were really good. They were they were fun. They were entertaining. He was good stuff. But. As much as I don't believe the books when the NBA claims, oh, we're all losing money releasing money. And you say we'll Ryan aren't you applying the same disbelief to the WNBA even if the NBA teams in a year or losing money on the books. I know the appreciation of the franchise values are such that you're gonna make money on the sale. And that's why no one ever complains about buying any of these teams. And only seems like they make money where the WNBA they have a hard time finding twelve owners know half the original teams around they move these things around a lot. I've heard the players from the WNBA complain about not being marketed correctly. Maybe that is a solution. Maybe that can actually happen. But I also hear that about baseball. And I've mentioned this plenty of other times every sport, and it happens in my industry, every guy that host to show that doesn't work out tells you out I just didn't promote it enough. The jersey sales things I've read from WNBA players saying they don't make any money off the jerseys. I I've asked people about and say that's actually not true. So I don't know what to believe they're one player. Made a great point was like, these jerseys aren't great. They have a huge ad on them. But it works for soccer. But it doesn't work for the WNBA when the MLS I started the CBA in the the split for players, and I don't have it down to the number anymore. But I remember digging through all that stuff. And you know, it was really really heavily favored to the owner. And I remember asking a guy that worked in management, w w the MLS I said, you know, is that necessary like these contracts 'cause we had to do this to make this leaks stable solvent..

"I I feel like you and work, but would hit it up a lot of people don't know about worth. I don't know. He seems he's he's definitely going to go after one of those girls at some point. Because I mean, you don't just fly hot girls around on a private jet. Just because you're nice all the time. Good point, you know. So he may be just laying in the weeds. That's that's what I think worse game is. But to this point seems pretty cool seems good people seem to like him better than musician guys on the show, but I didn't run into anybody. So and I never made it's common. Uncommon James because I didn't I didn't need any jewelry homegoods. 'cause I've been I've been traveling. So that was a good part of the trip part. Two of the trip is is now here in Baton Rouge. And I actually think this is a good transition. I I've just going to do a few minutes on this only because I I know I've told some of these stories before, but as you mentioned Maui, I think it's really similar in that whenever I mentioned Baton Rouge, Saturday night football, and certainly for Bama and my first game coming here in two thousand eight and everybody goes you just go to that game every year, I go. Yeah. I do because I'm happy. I love it. It's the best. And as I've said, you know this. This is repetitive. But any friend? That's never been always thinks that they know or you know, when I was up at Penn State, and Penn State's crowd was awesome. I'm not knocking the white out of the white out was great. And then the Penn State folks going in never seen anything like this heavy, and you go, well, I have actually and it's since tiger stadium. Well, you're like an adopted son of Baton Rouge to I get hooked up. Okay. As soon as I got here. There was a van waiting for. Me from walk on. And the guy said, you know, I was like just drop me off at the hotel. And then I'll worry about new later. He goes, no, I'm supposed to not leave you while you're here the whole week. So like, well, that's that's ridiculous. So yeah, I've got a big party van and I'm just riding around bad Rouge. They solo in the party van. I've even turn on the TV. I'm in the middle of reading the the murder of two pock and big. I don't even know if I should talk about it too much considering I live in LA now, but I'm almost done with that book. It was written by the LAPD lead investigator. So I've been kind of locked into that..
