"Internally, working on a movie, trying to find a director right now talking to different directors to shoot and at an adaptation of this movie perfect strangers. And I'm really excited about that. And on the producing side, working with jaboukie, who I think is just immensely talented on his show for HBO. So we're developing that right now and we'll see, but and then project greenlight. That's probably the next thing that's going to be up. We just finished that season, the director who won is editing her film. So we'll see when that gets released. But they're just little things here and there that we've been working on. And you have a record label, right? Yes. Yes, yes, on the record label called radio. We should call it an audio everywhere company. In addition to being a label, we do music supervision so they do the music supervision for rap shit, P valley, lots of shows that the Sex and the City spin off and just like that. And just like that, all these different shows. We have an incredible team there and been a management company called creative. But those are all under the hooray umbrella. And this is for people spelling along at home. Gotta love it. So you know it's my company. How's it going? It's great. I love it. Last two things just briefly, because you're now part of the HBO Max family with rap shit. I just have to ask some curious what your take is. Obviously, it's an interesting situation. They're dealing with with creators. And network consideration is just all of that. What do you have any thoughts on that? In terms of the consolidation of everything every time. Well, not even just the consolidation, but I guess we're seeing now some back and forth about some projects that are disappearing off the map. Yeah, I do think it comes down to that in these changes. I think anytime that you have a merger and you have new leadership decisions that are going to be made that seem to be for the best of the company, I think in this case, there's a very clear mandate that they want to save billions of dollars and that is going to involve some painful decisions. I can't say that I personally understand them and I'm sure as the creators specifically, the directors of batgirl and the cast involved in that. That's got to be devastating to be kind of like the first to be cut in a social experiment. It seems or a business experiment. But yeah, I'm just curious to see where it goes. I love the staff that I work with. I think there's some incredibly smart people that work on the max team. I have not met the discovery team, yet I haven't met. Zaz laugh yet. I've heard so much. I read so much. But yeah, I'm just curious to see what's gonna happen. Either way, I'm gonna create. Yeah, right, right. And I guess the final question at the place I thought we could end is, in addition to the stuff that you are doing yourself, I think it feels like one of the maybe greatest legacies, if not the greatest legacy in the long run, could be the fact that you've given that opportunity a foot in the door

Warner Brothers Has a Big Decision to Make About Ezra Miller
"Speaking of badass, I shouldn't say that because he's not a badass. Let's just call him an ass. Ezra Miller, I've talked about him for the last couple of weeks. This is the guy that plays the flash Ezra Miller is a terrible person. He's been arrested and, you know, cops have been after him from anything from kidnapping to shoplifting to assault in Vermont in Hawaii. He's a real prick, but he's the flash. And Warner Brothers, even though they got rid of batgirl and the Scooby-Doo movie, they made no bones about we're keeping the flash and you stalked going, well, what does this guy have to do to lose the movie? Now Warner Brothers has a decision to make. About the flesh. And this is the last time I'm going to talk about it, but there's three options Warner Brothers has. In one scenario, the crazy Ezra Miller, with the support of his mother, I'm not going to say their mother, I refuse to do the pronoun bullshit for non binary people I refuse to do it. So forget it. His mother, who's currently with him, in the first scenario, Ezra Miller should seek professional help and maybe, you know, give an interview at some point, explaining his erratic behavior of the past few years, then they could do like a limited press for the flash sort of thing and the movie would open and send him as planned. That scenario number one. Scenario number two is Ezra doesn't seek help. Maybe they can release the film in theaters as planned, but Ezra would not have a prominent role in terms of marketing and publicity. So you see the movie, he's not going to go out there in front of the movie and talk about it and publicize it. No, no talk show appearances, et cetera. And maybe they recast future flash films. Actually, they would have to. Third scenario, the situation where Ezra Miller deteriorates even further, which is not out of the question. This would see Warner Brothers killing the movie outright because it can't be reshot with a different actor at this point. Ezra Miller plays multiple characters and he's in almost every scene, so we're talking about scrapping a $200 million film, which would be unprecedented.

Sebastian Talks to Chris Kohls About Warner Bros. Shelving 'Batgirl'
"Somebody who's been an actor, been a writer, worked in Hollywood, understand kind of pulling the plank when you're having the first initial meetings about investing. I can kind of pulling the plug when you've got the first week of dailies. Pulling the puck up to the whole thing is even been scored in ADR. How does that happen in Hollywood? I'm just curious. They have $90 million invested in this. Some people are reporting to have a $100 million of it. I don't know if that's rounding up or what. Just to cap off the green jump Pierre and the whole communications department jumping ship and all that. The reason I believe that batgirl was so terrible wasn't just the wokeness, it was the people they hired. So the woman that wrote Birds of Prey, I don't know if you saw that movie or heard about it. Birds of Prey is one of the worst movies that's come out. Joker spin off who's that woman, Margot Kidder? Yeah, exactly. Yeah, Margot Robbie. Who's very cool, by the way. I've met rogel Robbie, she's actually awesome. But yeah, Birds of Prey was a disaster. And I watched that just because I wanted to see how bad it was, and it was hilariously bad. Anyway, I got a video coming out about batgirls, but I'm giving it to everybody now already. But they hired the woman who wrote that to write this. I mean, that was feminist garbage that came out. It was a flop. It lost them a $100 million, no joke. Worldwide, it lost them a $100 million. They brought it, oh, you know that pile of dog excrement that you wrote? Could you do that again? Please, we want another one of those. We want to lose another $100 million. So she

"It was illicit and it was illicit because it broke norms. And to some people that my friend said, brick, it seems like everyone is out of these days and ask yourself if there were any straight actors back then. But again, he said, people don't get it. These days, we live amongst labels, a dire girl has to be this or that because everything is branded. People are a brand now. It's dull. Everyone is looking over their shoulder afraid of getting branded, thus afraid of living. You said guys used to go to gym class, strip naked in front of their culture, Jim teacher take a shower and get on with the rest of their day, and that's true. I did it. Our coach used to show with us on occasion. No one was getting horned up over it. These days, guys, shower in their gym shorts. If at all, they get themselves, you know, ulcers about having to be seen and compare to another guy. Just shower and get on with your day. Then screw up, you want to screw and get back to the set for take 21. Whatever the hell, that's the way it was back then. Very different. It's so different than nowadays, I'm gonna read you, I'm gonna tell you a story that is a big story in Hollywood when how could it be bigger than what I just said, but it is. Nowadays we're talking about Warner Brothers scrapped batgirl and the Scooby-Doo movie Scoob!. Holiday haunt. Which, I don't know who the hell's gonna see that movie outside of your young kids, but this cancellation by Warner Brothers, these were made for HBO Max streaming movies and they were both scrapped. And that came as a shock to the town. Then there are several schools of thought here, but this move announced to a big rejection of WarnerMedia's strategy to make original $70 million live action and animated films directly for HBO Max. So the makers of batgirl, live action batgirl, and the animated Scoob!, they found out the other day that those films were being stopped in their tracks, the timing is really weird and awkward for batgirl that directors ideal are being Bilal fala, both in Morocco for one of their weddings. How's that for a wedding gift? Your movie's not gonna be aired with scrapping, it's done. Forget all the work that you did the last year and a half. And they are expected to return to the cutting room and continue to work on this film, but no, so them Leslie grace the star, J. K. Simmons, Brandon Fraser, and Michael Keaton as Batman, all that work down the tubes. They got paid, but still. Initially, there were cries that the scrapping of batgirl was bad optics because the title role is played by a Latina. Doesn't look that when you scrap a movie with a Latina in the lead. But there were reasons for the move and in both cases the filmmakers would tell that it came down to a purchasing accounting maneuver available to Warner Brothers discovery because the company had changed hands and also changed strategies from the previous regime. This always happens. It's a pain in the ass.

"Us all some very important advice. Plus, Kim Kardashian reveals a painful secret and the star who admits fame got her a whole lot of sex. Yes. Say hello to my girl daddy frontend. I like it. I like how to end it on you. I say hello to my man, Jay Rodriguez. JJ. You know what? It's always a good day if I get to talk about my boo boo. Yes. I'm a get right to it. Thank you. This time he's talking about his career and he, how he stays so grounded. Brad hit up GM made this morning with the bullet train cast and shared the secret to his success roll my boo boo. You said the more I succeed, the more I do, the more pressure I feel. What's that feel like? When you are bigger and bigger, people expecting bigger things, you know? So I just tried to not feel that pressure. So but it's impossible because my name is getting everywhere. Bread, that sounds like you're 90s a little bit. Yeah. You know what? It does sound like my 90s. And then I learned, you just keep making, you don't pay attention to any of it, and it doesn't change. I learned. And you enjoy your life much more. Yeah. What's the secret to surviving the kind of thing that Benito is talking about? Well, it's one, it's like being surrounded by people you love and respect. And then it just following what interests you okay, three tips. Okay. Yeah. First of all, Brad was finding the 90s that he's still fine. Yes. But what you think about the advice? I mean, I think it's solid. Look, you know, Brad had a point. You kind of can't listen to what's in the ether because your accolades, whether it's social or professional, will ebb and flow, but who you are as a person, like, you know, it's the people that matter to you that you should really care about. Doesn't matter what your vibe and with. It does mess with you though. I mean, that level of attention and that level of just massive recognition. I do think that you can lose yourself a little bit before you recognize all of that. Or you recognize all of that and how to apply it, it takes a minute, doesn't it? Yeah. Well, you know, are you surprised at how grounded he sounds? First of all, I want to give it up to him because he's been doing this press tour with every person in that movie. So he's helping them out. Yeah, and he could have, he could have easily been like, I want the star treatment. I want this to be a solo interview, but this is an ensemble cast, right? And so it's nice to see all of them. I will say he's been through a lot. And has come out on the other side, seemingly so happy. Happier than I've ever seen him. I think Lonnie, that's partly your love. Yeah. I agree. But he really is grounded. I think like you said, Jay, I think that because of what he's gone through with his marriage, his two marriages are getting so where I think he probably helped. The kids in his life and now that they're growing up, he has to remain grounded. And so he's kind of become this elder figure. You still cute though boo boo. Yeah. So I just love to I just love to see and I just love him. But someone who isn't so lucky, the cast and crew of batgirl, HBO Max movie, which cost $90 million to make was completely shelved by the executives at Warner Brothers discovery and the filmmakers are hopping mad. They released a joint statement saying as directors, it is critical that our work be shown to audiences. While the film was far from finished, we wish fans all over the world would have been able to have the opportunity to see and embrace the final film themselves, the star of the film, though, Leslie grace posted several photos and footages from her time on set and said to every batgirl fan, thank you for the love and belief, allowing me to take on the cape and become my own damn hero. This was a surprise. For people that don't know, just a little bit of the inside, Warner Brothers and discovery have merged. And there have been a lot of changes reportedly what they're trying to do is there's going to be a change with HBO Max. So I think they're trying to get away from HBO Max quietly Warner Brothers reportedly has removed some films from HBO Max. And unfortunately, we got the word that this film and also the Scooby-Doo film. That's what I was really missing. Literally dooby doo. Where are you? Wow. You know, but yeah, so, but in this case, this woman, Leslie grace, is one of the first Latino superheroes. And so this was gonna go directly to HBO Max and they've decided after spending $90 million that they're gonna shelve it. One because now it can be a tax write off. Yeah. So. And so this will never see the light of day. How do you spend this much on money and then shelve it? Yeah. You know, it happens all the time. It happens in film and it happens with music. When there, let's say an executive brings on a project signs it gets it made. And then another executive comes in. They want their name on the project and anything that belonged to the previous administration gets shelved or most of it or some of it. So whether it's an album or movie, it happens a lot. Yeah. I mean, I got to tell you, I feel bad for the crew who thought they had jobs. They were going to continue on for the cast for the director for the creators behind this as well, because, you know, like you said, this would have been the first Latina superhero, but you know, this happens in the industry. I remember I tested for a series regular of a series and it was on a Monday, they literally passed on me and the other guy, but they said, don't don't not think 'cause they might come back to you. They're gonna cast for three more days and come back and revisit. And then two days later, they canceled the entire series. While people were in pre-production, literally thinking for the next 6 months of my life, I have a job. We were talking the crew who are working these long, hard hours, had to suddenly be like, oh wow, I don't have a job and I said no to all these other opportunities. I will say I hope this is a good jumping off point for her and someone like snatches her up quickly for another great project. Was being reported that she has another deal. Okay. And so, you know, and to Warner Brothers credit, they did put out a statement saying, this has nothing to do with Leslie grace's performance. It has nothing to do with that. It's basically a business deal and you are absolutely correct. Do you know I've had at least 6 deals? Every time I had the damn deal, the president of the Corporal of the studio changed. Yeah. And once that happens, it's like, it's could see timing is everything. So if you get something and the timing is wrong, it's like, no, we don't want to deal with you. So this is, you know, it's just a shame to spend that the behind the scenes. There's more drama behind the scenes of entertainment sometimes. Yeah, that's where the real show is. Yes. I mean, people don't really even realize. But what I love about what, you know, Leslie grace, her name grace, she really embodied this. If you go to her Instagram, she sings a song as she's on set.

"I'm back with my daughter Danielle de Souza gill author of the book the choice and also a merchandise store and we were talking about abortion we want to now talk about Hollywood and I was kind of chuckling because I'm reading in the rap, which is a website that covers entertainment. It says batgirl won't fly. Warner Brothers discovery has no plans to release a nearly finished $90 million film. So evidently, they thought we have Batman. We gotta do bat girl. And so they commissioned this filmmaking duo, a guy, one guy named RB, and another guy named fala to make this bat girl. And these guys seem to be like your classic woke producers. And so they make this bad girl evidently they look at it and they just go, this is super boring. Not only can we not put this in the theater, but they're saying we can't even put it on HBO Max. So they were initially thinking if we don't do a theatrical we can at least do home box office, they've decided to just basically throw the movie into the trash. Now, some leftists are little up in arms because I think they see this as like it's sending a negative message to marginalized groups that batgirl is being taken off the shelf. What's your reading on this as a kind of both in and of itself, but as a metaphor for wool Hollywood? I don't know what marginalized groups would be offended other than bats because I mean, I don't know who else this would possibly offend. But I would just say that I think the movie I haven't seen it because they're not releasing it, but it's probably much worse than we've been thinking. It's probably not just boring because then yeah, why wouldn't you sell it and put it on a streaming platform if it's just a boring movie? Maybe you can make something, but it probably they're worried about lawsuits or that it's going to offend people or even cause a bigger uproar than they would have thought maybe cost them more money because they've had other films come out that they've been sued over and I have issues like that and so they're probably saying this is just a loss for us because it's just not even worth it even if the movie doesn't have much popularity. It's just not worth it because of some kind of maybe pushback there worried about. I don't know what else is that they could possibly leave it to throw away the $90 million film.

"Happens to all of us except ant. It doesn't happen to him. I wasn't going to go there, but all good. Anyway, leave me out of this. I'm quite fine. Actually, there's another coordinator variety, the real reason taxes. Taxes. Is this like what's the movie where they want to lose money? The producers, the producers. Even before David zaslav took the reins of the newly formed Warner Brothers discovery as CEO of the spring, he made a no secret of reversing his predecessor's strategy and committing to releasing first run feature films in theaters ah, remember they were putting them on HBO Max, not theaters. Batgirl, which was going to be direct to streaming. Spending the money to expand the scope of batgirl for theaters plus the 30 to $50 million needed to market domestically, the tens of millions more needed for global rollout could have taken that $90 million investment and doubled it. Yep. And that's risk. That's a lot of risk, especially if the movie ain't great. Wow. But you could just push it out on YouTube or something. That's interesting. That's a little insight into the movie business. All right, let's take a break. I think we got everything. Anything else you want to

"You think this will stop it. Sorry. I had to do that so that it wouldn't get taken down. Where is the well, maybe it's not I haven't got it yet. Maybe it's not rolled out. But if you like covers, this will be a very nice feature on YouTube music. It'll show you other versions of the same song, and I picked out a little bit because it's probably the most covered song in the magnificent song. I want to see the movie. I can't wait, but it was in theaters. I got to wait. You know, by the way, that's a feature I want, by the way. What's that? I want a, I'm not going to see it in theaters wait list. Yeah. So when it comes out, I get a ping that says it's on. Oh, it's on Apple. It's on here. It's on there. And I'll watch it. I do that. When I see a movie that I want to see is in theaters, I get excited because I know there will be something to watch in a month or two. But then I forget, but then I never well, you just. At least I have a ritual practically. Every few days we go to Apple and I tunes or whatever it is on Apple TV or Apple music, I guess it's the Apple TV. We go to the movies section and we'll see what's new. This has a new releases thing. If you just check that religiously, you'll see every time something comes out. By the way, oh, this is not the change log, so I was still changing. Hold on. You mentioned this one's done. I do not want to ruin the magic. We're full circling here. YouTube's new tool let's creators turn their own videos into shorts because we mentioned that. Everything's better like TikTok. Yeah. So this hasn't rolled out to my account yet. I tried it earlier. It'll convert your nice widescreen into a vertical video under 60 seconds. Great. New look how long is that going to last? I mean, people are going to get so sick of this. Oh, I know. I know. Well, what you Facebook's already? Vertical video? No, no, that's the feeling. No, I just think the short, the short shortcutting of the world. I think maybe it's a strategy that everybody ganged up in an antitrust and they said, let's all get the world's sick of TikTok. It's the only way to defeat them. Maybe. I'll do it. Maybe. Gmail's new look about the fact that most people have attention spans and install their way to get to them. As soon as ironic that as I'm trying to do the change log ant asks the question about short attention spans.

"And Intel from adding advanced chip fabs in China, however, as I mentioned. That's interesting because I guess when you give somebody billions of dollars you could probably say. I was going to say is the government basically saying, hey, now I don't know. Yeah. Well, no, no, no, that's not the question. The money that they give them will have to be used in the U.S.. But TSMC, for instance, if they take that money, I think they did, won't be able to substantially upgrade or expand its existing facilities at all. It is extant. Which means, I think that that means they have to turn the money down because that is the number one chip maker for apple's iPhones, for instance. Anyway, we'll see. I guess you could put it differently. You could say, we're going to give you money and we don't want this to go to China. Well, I think that's a given. This money is going to be to build a plant in the U.S.. Fine. But they would go farther, farther and say, and by the way, if you take this money, you can't spend any of your money to do anything in China. And I don't because it's fungible in a way. Or not. That's a good point. And so they're waiting to get the money before that. Okay, so let's say the bill doesn't pass. Until you're not going to build a chip. Really? That's a good point. It doesn't really matter. Actually, speaking of this Huawei, we talked a lot of this on Sunday as well. As you remember, this is kind of been going on since 2018. The commerce department at first, then Congress, and eventually the Trump administration said, Huawei networking gear should not be used in any facilities in the U.S. and other countries have said the same thing. There was a kind of a weird

"The rent bird. So i guess. I i'm gonna say there should be some sort of time. Jump in the season rec- korean her costume. The titans altogether put red hood fighting night wing. Hope we see these boy. But i'm really hoping that we actually see beast boy like it to do more more. Animals know hanging don arkham. We see jonathan crane. I hope that he actually gets out. It's actually in a scarecrow costume really. Don't want like hannibal. Lecter style right. I have a feeling that's going to be part of of what he's going to be doing. But you're not really there in gotham the best. The best shot of this super boy any front of what do you call it in front of as reading shot at and super going door taking all the bullets. And then we see a raven like in a very interesting outfit as we see some Lifts of black buyer and one lincoln. You miss it frame of donna troy so yeah titans season three. It's crazy because titans last time we got new titans zone twenty nineteen. I'm really excited for season three I mean i thought it's been a fantastic show the whole time. Great characterization may be drawn out you know the maybe some of the story drawn out but otherwise it's been fantastic and and you know the the season. Finale weren't like season finale. they haven't landed. They haven't mailed them haven't landed it. They haven't nailed the landing. But you know they are more like tv. Show season finale. What they used to be where there was more of a cliffhanger to draw you back for next season whereas season finale have gotten more More resolution over the years and barely less something hanging you know. I mean i always go back to the supernatural. 'cause like supernatural would have a season finale where you're like. Oh okay kinda wraps up would have one where you're like. Aw crap you know. That's one of those shows. I use it. Because i want to use it because it started before the streaming craze. I mean it went for fifteen years so like you watch how it starts him in how it transitions really helps you hang in the idea of how television shows were written made over time but i'm scope for season three is gonna be on hbo. Max you know Last time it was known. Dc universe when we watched it. Wow and i started watching it on eight. Max just haven't finished it yet. But i wanna finish season two before season three starts which is actually coming out. This thursday wasn't doom patrol the first one that you could watch on. Hbo max or dc universe the same time when it was live and then star girl. We've not heard about doom patrol season three yet. And i think aren't aren't we supposed to like three episodes. "You i always do. Kevin pollack sally as the The guy with the messed up. I and wayne's world two and he was in that thing you do which is my all time favorite movie. I like him in nine. And whole ten yards. Opposite bruce willis. Matthew perry joker sounds the usual suspects as well which is extremely overrated. Moving as been quite a few years. Since i've seen i've gone on record and said overrated film I would say it's been a solid twenty years since i've seen the usual suspects since i was sixteen. He was in that zone. He's done working. He has a big filmography. Oh yeah umber are. Here's the last big hitter. Who's playing the batman. But it's kinda the bolt himself when we say when people innocent mount. what's he from. That failed marvel. show the In humans than like ouch in humans might not to mention that. You're hopping christopher pike on the new star trek stuff or l. as his big thing or the fact that you're on episode of smallville you're stuck being to fail blackwell. Oh wow he is. He was on smallville he was the guy who smashed face into a mirror. That's injustice but everything looks good. Yeah i mean well from the look of it From the i look we got. That i can have the buttons like they're lettuce wraps are the ones that suck the least. They always make it like a little a little house for the burger. Unlike other places are like. Here's fucking romaine. Would you say burgers and everything dies. Compared to know that is its own. Oh man that is different style. It's a it's a lacy edge burger so in and out as a smash burger lacy edge so they haven't had a reaction well. Josh drill piece of their their fries in beef teller than vegetable oil. So it's it's own thing out of these chains not include It's in and out for sure in burglars not chain right. It is a one person back location. It was started in someone's backyard and they made enough. Money became popular enough to buy their location. So yeah this is. Yeah i would say i was in and out still my number one and five guys is right below what i do fill way. I have my eyes close. Well not okay so for for those who are only listening to this right now. "Enjoyed crossover because it's has a long history in comics they have Had plenty of adventurous together fighting both against each other and with each other and it just kind of it's a crossover that makes sense you know And the day. It's been paramount who has apparently Not been interested in making it but Ventura thinks that it's kind of inevitable that it will happen. Apparently one of the reasons that hasn't happened is Alien versus predator kind of ruined crossover potential for a lot of people do as one of those things were these. Two big franchises came together and it was just kind of crap So i think that the state is probably about taking maybe two franchises that are valuable on their own bring them together in potentially tainting the brand both of them although one could argue that they've done a good job of doing that themselves. Since the transformers we had a little bit of a better track record than gi joe but if the reviews for snake eyes are to be believed. They still haven't figured out how to make that Real american hero work on the big screen yet but i. I think this is something that could that could still be cool. I mean the transformers franchise kind of had their own version of a judge. O squad anyway with those characters. That were played by josh allen. Terry gibson so i feel i feel like you know feeding them in. There wouldn't be too hard Interestingly enough in this interview was over at uproxx lawrence duty butman talked about how when the highest even capable junior to tackle transformers rise. The beasts one of the things that he asked. why haven't you guys done transforms versus joe yet And i guess that they basically said we'll tell you what let make really good transformers movie. I and then maybe that's something we can talk about so trimmers the beasts does really well. Then maybe he'll get a chance to do a transformers judge movie so bread. I know that you're you're fan of both of these franchises to to a certain degree. I'm i'm wondering what that degree is like. Have you invested in reading those comic books that you mentioned where there is. The crossovers happened or they have there been like a animated series where those characters need up. If you've seen any of that stuff. I don't even know that i would call myself a fan of both franchises. Give me okay. Yeah like i've seen all the movies. I i think i i liked. Parts of transformers in i've tolerated the the most of the sequels Gi joe is it is what it is. I haven't read the comics or anything like that. There are a lot of them both classic and modern and so there's a lot of potential there for me. I think it's just the prospect of seeing something cool like that happened. You know these. These crossovers don't happen very often. It seems like they do because it's just so prominent with a marvel in dc and whatnot. But lighten the biggest crossovers that we've gotten in this past year. Things like god delivers his kong freddie versus jason and alien versus predator. So it's not something that happens very often. So i just think the idea of taking too big franchises like transformers in gi. Joe if judge joe is a little bit better would be something that would just yield some interesting results. You know it's like it's the kind of like the fun of playing with your action figures. Yeah so you know. You mentioned the reviews for snake. Eyes are starting to trickle. And they're not really that great transformers Remains to be seen how that's gonna do. But i would say that. The transformers franchise the film franchise as a whole has kind of been on a little bit of a downward trend over the past several years Bumblebee was a nice accession to that. Yeah do you think if you know. I think you mentioned that. Dan ranchera told stephen cable junior. Okay make a good transformers movie first. And then we'll see what happens. Do you think that if it could go in the other direction. If both of these franchises are in such a terrible place that maybe that they will be left with. The paramount will be left with no choice but to cross these over in sort of like a last ditch desperation effort. That's a good. I think yeah it could go either way you know. That's that's one thing. Be like all right fine. We'll throw everything at the wall. At least he would stake since you guys. Don't care about the franchise anymore but the same time i. I wonder if they'll even want to spend that kind of money to do that. If you know the fans are turning out for snake eyes and transformers rise. Be something i mean. Jay joe has always been you know much. Further behind the transformers franchises They'd had far fewer movies as well. So i think it just. It probably depends on on how things develop over the next couple of years. Yeah yeah okay so. Our next story involves a pen. Fifteen which is one of my favorite shows on hulu brad. Have you seen him fifteen. We have we talked about this. I have not got around to it yet. I heard it's efforts right up my alley though. Yeah it's it's excellent. it's so the. The premise of the show is a my erskine anna ankle who are the a co creators writers and producers and also stars. They are like in their thirties and they play versions of themselves as thirteen year..

"Also know that the cast is going to include. A andy mackie david harbour pignataro jennifer coolidge in a bunch of other people. You can you can read the fullest on on slash. Home dot com. So yeah what do you think about this christie. Said you have not read the short story. I have not either but the idea of a ghost becoming a viral sensation. Sounds like kind of an interesting premise. Sounds like something that christopher landon really sort of sink his teeth into. It sounds like it's kind of his wheelhouse. Do agree yeah. This sounds like a lot of fun. And after i loved the happy death they movies and i. I really loved freaky so after those those things alone. I'm i'm immediately interested in in anything. Christopher landed does so yeah. I'm i'm very curious about this and it's fun. Cast in a. It's an amusing premise. So i hope it all turns out well in the end the one thing that i kind of have a little bit of hesitation about is In your story here you say that That you have a quote about the I guess the log. Line of the movie When when one of the kids who finds the ghost and the ghost go rogue to investigate the mystery of the ghosts past they become a target of the cia yes. I don't know if that's like when i was doing the research for the yesterday i didn't see anything mentioned by the cia in this time. I don't know if they made that up for the movie. Or what but yeah. I don't just say i party feels like they must have made that up because in a short story you can have be like. The ghost went viral but race. When you're making a movie it's like we got to have something else avenue but in that kind of sounds like an amblin movie. Doesn't it from the late eighties or something. Like the ghost is like et and after the ghost. Yeah yeah interesting okay. Well yes we look forward to any and all new Christopher landon projects so Fingers crossed for happy birthday. Three when i really both those movies lot so We have a ghost. I'm looking forward to this. When i'm putting this on my rate right now so i think that's going to bring us to the end of today's episode of slash on daily..

"Oh hello aren't chris. Let's jump right into the news today. We have some interesting news from the world of net flicks about a potentially burgeoning new cinematic universally tell me about that. Yes so yan eac who directed the fear street trilogy for net flicks She's doing press right now and She said that what she would love to do is kind of create a haarer cinematic universe in the style of the mc you but for netflix. She said quote what the exciting things about fear street is the fact that the universe is big and allows for a lot of space. One of the things i talked about before i was hired was that we had. We have a potential here to create a horror marvel cinematic universe where you can have slasher killers from lots of different errors. You have the canon of our main mythology that's built around the fact that the devil is in shady side so there's also room for everything else. Yeah and there's more but go to slash on dot com to read those quotes. Okay so chris. Since we've not had a chance to record a water cooler episode. In a long time. I want to pick your brain real quick about these fierce rate movies. Because i'm not seeing any of them. I know that you reviewed all of them for slash. I will actually link to all of your reviews here so people can get your full Thoughts about those but just generally speaking. What did you think about these movies. And then secondarily. What do you think about the idea of a potential fear street horror. Cinematic universe here. I really like these movies at a lot of fun with them i I liked all three of them. I think i lake One most of all i liked. I love all three of them. And yeah i love this idea. Especially if they keep leave leeann eac involved because she clearly knows what she's doing. I've been a fan of her since her first movie which was called up honeymoon which came out in two thousand seventeen or something. I could be wrong. But that's a neat little har- indie movie. That i feel like a lot of people haven't seen and i hope they they seek that out now that she sort of like blowing up with with these movies but yeah i grew up on you know. Rl stein. i mean. I grew up on stephen king than our elstein. But i i read the science stuff and i just love the idea of making this happen. I also love the idea of letting it happen. Organically like even though leonie accessing this quote you know. I talked about this idea of net with with a cinematic universe. I like that. They didn't try and jump right in and make it happen like you know the dark universe. Where they they instantly tripped over their own feet. Because you know you need. I feel like. I've said this before on this show and elsewhere but the trick to making a cinematic universe work at least in my opinion is you have to let it sort of earn. It's it's it's placing like even though like you know. The universe was sort of planned out. It wasn't like they didn't plan it to be what is today is what i'm saying. They sorta let that unfold the way it did and they had to. You know they built up to these beer event movies like the avengers movies and i feel like if you're gonna make this this idea of cinematic Press work. that's how you have to approach this shit. You can't like jump in. It'd be like we're going to do it from the start because it's going you're gonna just gonna fuck it up from the get go. I hope i hope that if they do go through with this they they do. Learn that lesson they let this unfold more organically then being like you know fucking russell crowe as dr. Jekyll shows off. Ra- quick have you. Did you happen to see the trailer for the fear street movies. Like i think netflix released a sort of a trailer for all three of them. Do you know what i'm talking about did you. Did you happen to watch that. Had you already seen all the movies because you've got screeners at that point in the marketing process No no i saw. I saw the trailer first. And then i got the screen okay. I watched that and was kind of like. I was intrigued by the idea of this fear. Street trilogy one a week. And all that stuff i was like. Oh that's kind of a cool idea. And then i watched that trailer and i was like. I don't know. I don't know about this but i know that you like these movies a lot. Do you think that trailer was just kind of an iffy. Trailer doesn't necessarily perfectly represent the movies that you enjoyed. Or what do you think. Yeah i think so. I mean i didn't mind the trailer. But i can see what you're saying. I do think Whether or not you like these movies going to depend on where you stand on on the horror genre. Like if you're like you know in the tank for horror as i am. I think you're going to you know like these more than a casual viewer. Only like i only casually like if you if you love horror. You're gonna love these movies because these movie you know. I don't i'm not gonna say they're on original but they're very much omar to like the history of horror that came before it like these are we would not exist. Where if you know a bunch of other we didn't exist. I so that's part of the fun where you're watching it and you're like oh i can. I can see all the references. But i don't i don't really know where you stand on harsher i mean i feel like i've seen a lot of the big ones a lot of the classics but it's certainly not something that i spend a ton of time and i feel like i dip in out here and there So i wonder if i have enough of a of foundation To be able to pick up on those references and make it worthwhile maybe Say screw that trailer and give these things a shot on. Wait not up report back. And like. But very least i would say halloween's coming up faster than we might realize. I feel like if you wanna wait around till like october. And then binge. I think is like a great like halloween month. That's that's a really good. I think probably do that. Okay all right. So our next story here involves bat girl the solo movie. That warner brothers is developing. They've been trying to get this made for a long time. A jocelyn was attached to write direct at one point. He left the project a year or two ago at this point but now there are some names that are being thrown out that are Are potentially going to be testing to play the lead role starting this week Soldiers run through these names here. There's only four of them that we know of right now. One is Isabella mer said who might recognize from starring in dora in the lost city of gold. She also played the female lead in transformers. The last night There is zoey. Deutch who starred in the net flicks rom com. Set it up that we talked about a lot when that movie came out a couple of years ago. I'm also in richard linklater's college baseball. Hang out movie. everybody wants some Zombie land double tap. She's been around several times in the past few years. Leslie grace is another of the names as she. I think only has one film role right now and that is as the character of nina in the musical in the heights which just came out on theaters on on. Hbo maximum and she was the character who was dancing on the side of the building with corey hawkins character in the film case. People maybe saw that one and Don't instantly recognize her name and then finally a haley lu. Richardson who has been is like one of my favorite young actors right now. She was a really great in on pregnant movie. That i've sort of been sing. Its praises for a long time. She's in columbus. Enter seventeen support. The girls She's she's very good. So yeah weirdly deadline. When they reported they were like yeah he. Richardson may have bowed out before the test process begun but the rap said that she was actually she and lesley grace where the top two contenders for the role. So there seems to be confusion among the the trade outlets there about who exactly is is going to be literally stepping in front of a camera to screen tests and suffer this movie but Those are the four names right. Kristie I mean off the top. I we don't really know anything about the approach of what this girl movie is going to be Details have been pretty scant. so far. We know that christina hodson who wrote birds of prey and the upcoming the flash movies writing it and that the guys who directed a bad boys for life or directing. But that's kind of it. So based on what little very little information we have here is there any one of these names that jumps out to you as like. Oh yeah that'd be cool. I could see her having fun. Playing back will not really. I mean i know i guess all these one of them and i don't really i don't know i can't. I can't get anything out of this list of names for some reason. I'm just like whatever any of them will be fine. Good luck to all these actresses. Yeah i wish. I knew a little bit more about what the take was going to be. Because like barbara..
