Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard lead team to victory over Philadelphia Sixers

"About Damian Lillard? The All Star Guard, had 51 points and seven assists. Help Portland defeat Philly 1 24 to 1 21 Portland's now just 1/2 game back. Of the eighth seed in the Western Conference. And unless if your son's fan of the sons they got a victory today, they're still undefeated inside the bubble or unless if your grizzly span or you still give this the Spurs a puncher's chance. And you have the pelicans and the Kings now eliminated If you just like basketball and let's say you don't have a dog in that fight. You want to see Portland get to the embassy playoffs and meet up with the Lakers in the first round. I could understand why some wanted to seize Einen. But now a Zion and the pelicans are even coming close to get in that 89 playing game. The team that you want to see the team that could be most dangerous are the Portland Trail Blazers.

"Lt's on the other side and right in the middle of the big 12 there. Where did coaches Harbaugh or Franklin give any details of these plans that they say specifically Harbaugh saying, I've got a plan? We could use this thing. Why? Why hasn't he offered it up? I guess. Yeah, well, I mean, I think that the plans and protocols that they believe in place with the social distancing on travel when it comes to Ah, you know no fans in the stands, he thinks that that would be enough. The problem is, you still got the student athletes going, You know on their campus, sleeping in their dorms coming, too. I mean, it's not as though they're living in a bubble. It's not the end A. It's not the NHL and I'm going to tell you right now in the Big 10 Maryland, which yes, is a Big 10 team. Keep checking. That seems strange. But Maryland just offered just announced a two week delay an in person classes till they figured out their campus yet let alone a football games and how that's gonna work. And when it comes to then you said the announcement could come today. At the rate. It's only Yeah, I mean, there's there's another meeting. I mean, these these meetings are constant, and we'll see what happens. Maybe today and when it comes to that rumor that they were thinking about maybe pushing it, pushing it to spring putting football. It's spring. That just seems difficult to do even on a campus itself because you'd have both the athletes for baseball for football for hockey for you know, you've still got the basketball season. Running into all of that. How would that even work? That's a great question. And you know you might have some athletes that would have to make decisions. You know as to what they're going to do and what would happen if some conferences playing the spring and others don't Can you truly crown a national champion? At that point, just so many questions. That's why everyone's just kind of standing there waiting for someone to make a move. You have a feeling that if one of these power conferences decides to pull the plug The majority of that might. We don't know that for a fact. But it would be difficult to have a season without, you know, having all of the participants in place. Yeah. Nobody wants an ass tricks by a big championship. I mean, championships are great. But if somebody is constantly going to go, and but she did not. You didn't play X and Y and Z. You're going to feel like okay. Well, then, maybe that championship wasn't really as big of a win, as it would have been if things were normal. Exactly, And that goes for all sports. Really doesn't Oh, absolutely. All right, Ryan. Thanks So much. See later. This's k f i n k O s th d to Los Angeles. We'll see what happens right now, Let's take a look at a wreck on the 405 It's in Carson on the four or five South bound, right. The 1 10 are wrecking the right lane. One of the cars, right shoulder, the other in the right lane. So not a huge delays. You make your way through here. But watch.

Fresh update on "basketball" discussed on Angelo Cataldi and the Morning Team

"I found this old alright, Doctor. Here's the problem, Kenny. Here's the problem. It is what I worry about, because I do think they're goingto least thought the season. I'm not gonna be ready. Do you understand? There's no preseason games. I'm not seeing any football. What do you need to do to prepare? I need to be in a certain might say can. He doesn't understand that You have to have a lot of football built up for that first kickers. What? I want you to do it when you did go home today and sit your ass on the couch for four hours. It's not Kenny explained it to it. She's gotta ran from it started to go on going. Actually, training. Can't see a practice or two preseason games. You gotta argue over who don't look the last four people in the risers going, Teo, You gotta wash the fourth game, which you know, so I think that you're gonna watch it anyway. Take the kids out of preseason games so they get you're not getting any of it. I need. I can't go from 0 to 60. You gotta just go that quick. I did the ramp up to see my father, The Flyer hockey and basketball playoffs, which you never had before, but it's oddest season. It's weird. You understand. I'll get ready for Sunday Eagles opener and I got the Flyers in the semifinals. Waiting have sports front complaining, already explained it. Football is God to us. It's a whole other level. There's another sports. I love that. You know you really love him. But football is King and the story and so you rather would. You rather have an eagle's preseason game or a six or a Flyer playoff game. Close. Well, my report question. I had rather have a flyers playoff game. But far the sisters know, I'd rather be on the telephone with cable way with his table. Cos that your is that what's worth the Phillies? Bullpen candy talking to your cable company? I gotta actually let that go. You stay right there. I like that one. You know you people. You know what You're not Died in the world Eagle fans. I know you go to the game. No, no, you are not going to be ready for the open. Sorry, Don't even ever say that to the person who actually grew up here. But really, it's a stops everything in a pandemic. Ridiculous. Your Nancy ramp you just suddenly now another and there's the kickoff and really started their first game. I was right there. When these Sixers played their first game right there, flyers, I'll be completely fine as long as it's a real game. Well, then there's something missing, and now there's nothing missing because all we do is complain about preseason o. You do well, you know, we don't have it. Then we complain that we don't have to do is wind back to when the Phillies are really good. And the Eagles. Preseason was not because the Phillies were not pennant races. Not too May. Al Baseball. Great diversion, hockey. Great diversion, basketball. Great diversion. Football life, Not the preseason. Oh, it's all start life. You don't start. You don't meet a beautiful girl and then immediately take your clothes. You know, I think you gotta work your way up. You do need the preseason, so you can make some of the more ridiculous statement you have ever made in your life like Sam Bradford's The greatest quarterback in Eagle's history is dumb. Is that what you usually I think you're ready. I can only tell you I am normally on vacation. And if you see me on the beach and see all I'm talking about is a vacation because you can't stand the eagle preseason. No, you know, I don't need you to try to ruin my fun even if it was 100 said right now, But I'm not here to tell you there's something talk about with the Eagles, because I don't know what the hell you know what the coaches even they're exactly what I would like. Update on the coach is doing okay. Skin within check in with them saying always don't I would like to find out of the coach. I'll please. Not like that. CNN guy's face Chris Cuomo. I'm down in the basement right now. Oh, I fight with my wife to 151559 to 94. 90. For when we return. We are going to be talking. We're going to D. C to talk to my man John Stillness. Cause you have thoughts on the bullpen and they got a new name. I guess the red wolves they did pick somebody saw some some photos. Some photos of a Jersey said Red Wolves. Well, that's pretty cold. Go on. Is there a wolf pressure group to 1559 to 94 united for jump, I would give it away a lot of prizes in nine o'clock, I would stay right there..

Philadelphia 76ers beat Wizards 107-98; Simmons leaves with knee injury

"Other wizards lost again to the Philadelphia seventy. SIXERS affiliate takes that one, one, seven, ninety, eight, also the big news from that game scholars. You know it's not that Philly won the game I anticipated that that would happen of the big news was that their star guard or I. Guess. Now, if their star power forward, Ben Simmons left the game in the third quarter with an injury to his left, knee. Yes. So they already got. GOT 'EM. Orion. A said, it was clear I. Don't understand this one because it doesn't like something happened, and when you come down and really you didn't get hit I, maybe got hit a couple possessions go and he finally felt at that point. That's a scary moment for Philadelphia because you know non contact injuries to the knee like I'm nothing he towards ACL I. Don't think he did that at all but I just I I do think that you know Know Ben Simmons had the injury with the back. He's come back. He's had this like a weird year. That's like, I think now I'm looking at the heat, I'm looking at the Pacers and the Philadelphia Seventy sixers don't that would be the team that I think like Boston or even I never going to go to Milwaukee and probably not gonNA go to Toronto. As many as 100 people involved in brawl at California hotel

"It out of a hotel in Anaheim. Two of them went to jail and tomb or went to the hospital. They say this brawl started here at the Cambria Hotel. It's a newer hotel. Just off Catella and Anaheim. We understand that this started in the pool area. It is a gorgeous area that looks like a water park inside. Now, witnesses say that it started with what they think was a misunderstanding. Possibly an argument. But we're talking about 40 to 60 people in that pool area started brawling, police say, was primarily Children, Teens and women. Well, somehow that brawl Got pushed out into the lobby and right out into the front of the hotel. Another 40 people joined. So, police say By the time they arrived, there were close to 100 people fighting. Two people were taken to the hospital with injuries from some kind of lacerations were not sure if it was stab or just cuts. They're being treated in the hospital and two people were arrested. It was a juvenile and a man. We sent for initial officers who responded on scene and we're immediately contacted by a group of about 40 people in the parking lot fighting simultaneously. There was a fight occurring inside the lobby that included anywhere from another 40 to 60 people here, So we was in a pool. Just chill ended. I like you know what we planned. How to Unlearn Diet Culture's Rules with April Quioh of She's All Fat

"Go talk to April Quiapo. So tell me about your relationship with food growing up my relationship with food. What did you see? Well, I grew up in a matriarchal household like I was raised with my single mom, my two older sisters and my grandma, and so it was just like all ladies and they are all immigrants except for me I was the first person to be born in America in Minnesota, actually in the rest of our board in Liberia and the became immigrants so it was. Like a clash of cultures, types, of thing like the Liberian ideal standard of beauty is different than the American one like more curvy figure is kind of the norm. If you will back there whereas in America at least growing up in the nineties and early thousands I felt very much like I should look like Nicole richer whatever her. So so it was like being curvy trumpy or whatever was accepted to a certain degree, and I was always like fat growing up like not. Curvy but like fat. So we always were on diets together like I think it was just kind of this household were was totally normal to be like we're going on. Atkins this week we're going on weight watchers is speaking it was just like it's almost like a bonding thing like what we did together and then I didn't realize until growing up that it was like, oh, we all just like participating diet culture like as a family basically which I mean yeah, it was. Just kind of something that was super accepted in my family. So it's like in Liberia culture food is super important. It's like how people von how people grieve just like in a lot of cultures, but it was also like vanity is very important. So like we made out this delicious food, but like don't eat too much of it. Otherwise, my grandma will decided be like your fat she was just very she's very upfront lady like that, and that's totally lake the culture is. Different. Ladies assigning, hit your fat like if you ever want to get married maybe maybe not. So that's kind of how I grew up. I was always like naturally you know pretty pretty a Chubby kid and was always remembered I going on a diet when I was maybe six like very young. that. Went on until I. got to college and I was like, Oh, I'm done. I'm over it. So that was that was growing up what a dieting do to your relationship with food and your body did you have feelings about it or it's hard to like this is just how it is. I, mean I had a lot a lot of feelings about it Safina on our podcast. US L. fat talk about a lot like growing up dieting nonstop makes it impossible to know once you break out of that like what you want like today the thing I still struggle with like am hungry and my just eating like I don't even when you diet you read a book and it tells you like, okay, you eat this much foods do this and so you break out. Of It, it's hard to tell like, am I hungry? What do I really want? What is my body want from me like to be nourished? It's like that relationship between your body and you is broken because it's like I ignored what it needed or wanted for so many years. So I think that is the biggest thing that's been damaging like the whole concept of intuitive eating like. Wow sounds so great. I'm not there yet I still am not clear on how to do it because like dieting disea- exact opposite breaking free of that like it's GonNa take a really long time and so I think that that would to me has been the most clear direct result of grabbed away did but yeah I mean I was like I was tortured by my buddy growing up. Everybody in my family is plus is and I am also plus is including my body is like naturally made to be like everyone in my family is but I'm constantly fighting against it and it just felt fruitless inches felt like this project that Ozzy felt like a waste of my time was a real kid and I'm like man, I, wish I could beat the library and instead my mom's like forcing to join a basketball team or whatever. But I know choose choose just she's just trying her best in like also also was very lazy. So she's like please please just get off the couch. No but it just felt you know it was just this kind of like tortured relationship wherever I wish this wasn't that much of I, wish I didn't have to spend so much you by energy thinking about this and it didn't even wear I mean diets don't work. We all know the never worked. So. Yeah that.

NBA turns to Microsoft Teams instead of digital cheers

"All right. Pro sports might be back. But right now, you don't find any fans in the stands to compensate Major League baseball's resorted to adding digital fans and cheers to TV broadcasts. Kind of creepy when you started seeing those fan cut outs behind home place, But that's late is the N B, a just resume playing basketball games in its co Godfrey Bubbling Disney world, and they came up with a different idea. Using Microsoft teams. You see, they have this mod called together Move. Up to 300 so fans can be virtually added to the courtside seats, appearing on 17 foot video screens that wrap around all three sides the court so together Mo tries to make everyone feel like they're all sitting in the same room sharing a I and also like looking at different backgrounds, and so now they're gonna do this for basketball fans actually want to look at this. People will appears. If they're sitting next to each other courtside. They can interact with each other. Almost like they're really They're almost looks kind of strange. Uh, but then you start thinking about it. Microsoft might be on to something of this. As long as they don't drop the ball on it.

"Any athlete understands recovery is essential an arguably just as important as the workload itself to achieve peak performance in recent years even among amateur athletes, we've seen a growth and acceptance to what's the necessity of taking the time to really focus on recovery. But what has actually entail for one year muscles require time rest and particularly plenty of sleet repair and grow, but taking the time for active recovery such as stretching. And Foam Rolling Yoga also play a large role in keeping the blood flowing and helping rebuild from intense physical activity. Bro Athletes for recovery for today's show, we've invited highs founder and CEO. Anthony, cats hi FIS has been one of the leaders in the field is known for its iconic products such as the hype vote massage gone the Viper vibrating foam roller as well as the compression sleeves their products have. been used early on by NBA stop there such as Lebron James and the late Kobe. Bryant and today there aren't they use by pros and all the major us. Leaks the English premier league as well as Olympic athletes. We chat more about how he first got started with icebox neoprene and also take a deeper dive into the science and also some of the best practices behind some of these recovery methods and devices. Hi Anthony I'm excited to have you on the show today. Can you tell us a little bit more about yourself to kick things off? Yeah. So my name's anthony cats on founder pipe price. I founded the company about ten years ago it started out really just as an arm project like I was before this I worked in education was a high school teacher I was married to professional. Athletes and I was still really active and I still play sports and was sort of looking for ways to improve my body and sort of slow the aging process and I started my by started kinda get more soar after do things and you kind of start to see like the wear and tear you know grown up in the in the Dark Ages fitness in the ninety S. People used to basically do bodybuilding it wasn't very functional and that control my body in in. So I start looking at like, what would it winter pro athletes doing? You know because obviously they put the biggest premium on. Their bodies and sort of the new kind of things if there was anything new that they were doing that I can adopt and when I did sort of the research on, it was funny like the word recovery didn't really even a quiet sports like that. We use it now and there's a category now but they're back then. You know recovery meant like alcohol recovery or something you know. It didn't mean the same and so the industry was really dominated by like sort of these like medical device companies that would make products that would live in athletic training room for in professional sports and mostly what guys were doing for like you know just. To recover faster faster was was ice was ice tubs. Getting, getting a cold tubs and then, and then they were icing their joints and then if you getting a massage in athletes paper massage and stuff, and that was kind of that was kind of what the recovery will look like in two, thousand ten and so I figured okay well, you know if you can't really market a cold tub but athletes are icing their joints every day and they were doing it with plastic bags and ace route or Fight in every single day. Yeah. It's really wasteful and just like you know it's just not really convenient leaks in you know Dallas is kind of what they were doing. So it Kinda struck me and around this time two, thousand ten. So beats by DRE was relatively new. You know they debuted at the two thousand, eight Olympics and the Osa basketball guys were wearing them kind of adopted this idea that you if someone wearing something right and you know if I could make something that was good enough for like pro athletes to wear that people would see it on them and because it's on their body because it would be like wearing potentially like wearing them, you know on the sidelines or Photos, in your starting, it was Kinda before instagram. So it wasn't really the access to like the behind the scenes of what these guys do is not really the same level of now because I feel now we have a much better window into what what sort of the athletes are famous people do in their you know when the camera's not on. This kind of struck me. If there was a documentary called the last dance about Michael Jordan and it was showing how different famous then where he was the most famous person in the world and he'd get off the team bus and they would just be like a thousand people waiting at the hotel just like watch him walk in the door and we don't need to do that anymore because now everyone has we see what people do in the cameras. And we have twitter, right? Yeah and so people and and then there's way more content right? So there's just way more content of like, okay. What is sort of what is an athlete? Do? They're not court in got used to be pretty mysterious people in an intriguing so I figured that if I could make an icing product because athletes have to is every day people see maybe what sort of kind of catch on A in obviously not a school would beat because it's music that's universal but I still felt like young athletes might adopt it. So I had the idea to make like a really cool looking is compression device, and so I started researching therapy. The. Compression was import element of it and I had. A friend of mine who's a college basketball coach was regularly working out with Kobe Bryant and in Kobe was known as the biggest like that. He he is more than anybody and there was articles well-documented about how he really took care of his body. So I thought if I could make a prototype and I could show it to him and maybe you know maybe get into weirder sort of my thinking and I showed it to them I. so I literally was cutting up wetsuits and going into like wetsuit factory's GonNa live in a beach community southern California. So like there's some of the old Lexi factories that are still around back then so I was kinda compression sleeves and then taking ice bags from like you know from like rite aid or whatever, and and and just kind of like putting them together these compression sleeves. Trying to make something and you know he was really receptive to the idea that there could be a product that would make more efficient and it would actually look not just be so wasteful. So I a couple times in he kind of gave me some really good criticism that was constructive and what I realized like this can't be an art project like this is not how businesses have to like if I'm. GonNa do what I gotta do it. Right. So I gotta go get like. So I was calling manufacturing companies and it was during the recession and people weren't really interested in talking about no experience at all and just sort of this but one company believed like, okay. I kind of had proved that I was like interacting with Koby in the disciplinary doing for him and they kind of just took a flyer on. Maybe we'll try helping sort of developed sort of come the extra separable and so took about a year I. Got I, finally convinced him to do it. We took about a year to kind of develop the product properly I had the idea to put an air release valve at is bag because when ice melts, it creates like air pocket in compression doesn't work because it blocks a compression. So if You have a button that releases the air. The compression always makes contact with the ice and then you get your eyes compression therapy and that's that's the whole idea behind it was that I would watch guys ice and then I would see these like there's a big air bubbles forum. It's like because the heat from your body is exchanging with the ice and then that creates natural gas, which is A. Form of like air and

Game they had recorded their heat. Fans in the stands of saying. Let's go heat. They've tried to use different sound effects. I don't know if you remember that the. Sound effect was used when I believe a king missed the free throw, or maybe it was a Pelican. Till using sound soundbites, obviously they used. Notice, it's very spread out if you look at the sidelines or using social distancing chairs, which I'll get more in the detail in the next segment. and. "It's a very big question has to face but like I say from a Star Perspective. They have those from a market perspective. You have stars. That markets will connect to. So that's not going to be the issue it's just the casual NBA Fan. Who isn't necessarily a fan of any team but like watching basketball is usually casual fans to me or people who watch sports but usually only watch the big events of the store or occasionally watch is a normal event if they're not doing anything else but they're not dedicated to the sport capable of everything in the sport that to me is a casual fan usually most target markets. "Welcome back to the GMC basketball podcast. Last segment we talk right. I discussed gave my opinion. What makes a great organization in the NBA? I discussed all the way from this hot downscale. Bottom how is important to have clarity? You GOTTA have clarity whereby role is if if it's going to be a very collaborative or berry sectional you do this. I do that. We we just come together when it comes starting decisions but everybody just does their own thing or every decision. We'RE MAKING VINCE ORGANIZATION. Going to be a group effort and also how important is for ownership to? I feel like usually as an owner. You are businessmen not a basketball expert. Football expert sodas say so or whatever only you have and you hire people to do those jobs for you so your job is just to make sure you give the coaches the front office and the players anything. They need to maximize their success and for them to be successful. Because if you don't that can sometimes ruin what happens within the organization like if you're very hands on owner trying to get into the personnel decisions CETERA. How that can sometimes go awry in actually hurt your team instead of helping. But now I'm going to get into the next topic. What is a superstar? And how can you separate it from a star? It's a very interesting question in this league. I think people realize we only have a very few amount of superstars? In this league. Obviously people come to mind by the broad Greek Freak Jaanus you know but how do you separate how do you know as a player? Listen the NBA. A star can get the same money as as a superstar. I mean literally how they determine if the supermax if you make one of the all NBA teams but sometimes an NBA team player isn't a superstar. There's a SAR so I'm going to talk about how you can separate the both in how you were is a superstar. So I'M GONNA I'M GONNA tackle the question of what's a superstar. I to me as superstar is a player that makes whatever he does makes the team better and what I mean by that. Is this so if you think about Jordan his reputation? He's very mean to his teammates. Punch the teammate. Very rough on them also reputation clutch clutch play in the league. When the best scores you've ever seen Lulu I think Jordan reason why he was a superstar to me was when you play with Jordan. You know if we if we do our part Jordan take home it's a it's a dependence in a trust that players have in you.

"Today show talking about updates throughout the virus over how to sit down interview. Espn's read about some of the clansman gorge without discussing the is and today. We're also GONNA do something a little bit for the next shows. Obviously since his high eighties is probably going to go on for a couple of months from the league. I will go ahead and give review of each team season and expectations for next season. What they've accomplished some issues. They may have had things you need to figure out. I'll give it more indepth breakdown. All the teams starting with the divisions side leave new in the southwest division a day which is in the eastern conference which includes the Hawks Orlando Magic Washington Wizards Charlotte Hornets. And I'm missing somebody. I can't oh the Miami Heat. Actually that might be sixteen. Some only do five of those teams today. The will just basically just GonNa go ahead and just do five teams. So we're going to help all down the PODCAST and I'll break it down for you guys no particular order but yeah we're GonNa talk about what's happening around the league starting off obviously have to give you some of the news I A lot of players have been getting tested. Recently the seventy sixers of came out and said three of their members have Kroto virus to Lakers players. Have the two Lakers off? The Lakers released a statement. They have the corona virus. Barca's smart from the Boston. Celtics has the krona virus and the biggest one Kevin Durant has the quotas fire from the Brooklyn Nets so obviously as you can tell krona. Virus impact is affecting people worldwide around the leave dividing a lot of players. This is one of the reasons why they decided to go ahead and cancelled league just so this cannot continue to spread and obviously to obviously. I feel like every team basically getting tested at this point to make sure everybody is good so that that's that's really the update their Obviously this is obviously. I'm sure they're all. These players are in nicely. And I've heard that a lot of these teams with people who have the corona virus they will sit and work with teams -sition or particular health doctors to help monitor them and keep them afloat. Treat them a little bit so they can get back to full strength. Marcus smart released video today saying that he felt good. He felt fine and he's ready to go so clearly. You know everybody's still in good spirits as this has been a very challenging time. I would say in the United States a lot of people with the Krona Virus So you know. It's good to see that the players that we watch aren't being as affected by the situation as others all we can do is just come back and hope for the best amputee. Just come out there and play every game and do they gotta do really 'cause you know we don't know how long we're going to be without the NBA and so it was important to you. Know appreciate what you've had Hopefully we obviously says more tests. You're getting out there. We're going to get more numbers of people who are getting positive for the virus Says affecting all type celebrities from football world to the basketball world to the celebrity world movie world? It's something that obviously were trying to combat right now in this country and we just gotta continue to go ahead and move forward really in my in my decision making so. I think I feel like we're both in good. We're GONNA conspiring now or just going to hope for the best move forward with this virus as we continue to go ahead and just try to move forward with the. Kroto virus end dealing with things that we do with on this podcast. Keeping it basketball really. Obviously I told you early to start the show. Adam silver had a sit down interview Rachel Nichols. He discuss some of the future plans for the season. What he's planning on doing what he's looking at doing and etcetera etcetera because obviously knows important for him to do what he has to do took create a platform that players can safely. Come back to now. A couple of things that he discussed was first potentially having a one off game for charity. Obviously just because so many people in so many different companies have been impacted by this game that sometimes having your best players playing charity game could you know? Help give back who a lot of people who have been affected by this time so I I could see him going ahead and maybe doing something like that. Obviously they did it in the All Star game and that was successful and it worked so maybe he feels like well. Maybe we can do another charity game but not in terms of all almost like another all star. Game. I guess but I mean obviously it's still early so we don't know completely how hill constructed but obviously he has a plan for the future. He has a plan moving forward. So I'm that's one of the things that he has suggested. Potentially doing one thing that I think this has been something that he's actually wanted for a while as they talk about the NBA calendar might change permanently now. Obviously this has been a big discussion and debate in circles because the atoms silver has been on record saying that he would like to change schedule. Get less games maybe boo. The league back changed some dates around and obviously with this virus postponing things this might force them to go ahead and change the league change when they start. I Previously reported in a couple of weeks ago the Hawk CEO. He said that he wanted to change the schedule. And have it start on Christmas Day? Were there more competing with baseball than the NFL and this might be what breaks the camel's back in gets them to start playing games late because let's say let's say they are back in dude and you do still do a seven game series. Playoff system with all teams usually playoffs. Take almost up to two months. So you're not getting done till August. Usually the ACC starts in October so Yang will give the players too much. Nisei run another eighty two so clearly. They're going to have to start the season later in. Also if you want the playoffs to start around the same time you're probably going to have to reduce the schedule now. We don't know how many games reduce it but obviously and this is so early this stuff. They're still talking about this stuff. They're still trying to figure out. But I'm sure a Lotta people would like that and they think everything should work out so I think that definitely subbing back is going to help. Moving forward You know they're gonNA have to figure out okay when we do the All Star game. 'cause you don't WanNa have one month of a season. And how are you have all star? So when you're you're you're gonNA push that to like it. It's a lot of things. They have to reconsider. Remember and the next day they were talking about having a midseason turney there. They were talking about doing different things. Having plane systems like this really could go ahead and make them do it earlier or as soon as expected. Because you're kind of place it at position where this might be. What's best so? I'm sure this is something. That's going to create a big challenge for him and the Players Association. Everybody involved but you know. I think I think it's going to be something that it'll be interesting what happens. I think everybody is going to be very happy about what happens. And they're going to continue to do what they gotta do to be successful and get this league backup going again but also accommodating for the changes in schedule Comma dating for the players and getting a schedule that works with everyone around the league so everybody ends up being actually happy about it at the end of the day. So that's really what I'm looking at so awesome you have. Obviously he also said that. Go Away the League can go back. Going is of the health experts. Say Okay. I think that's a lot of people are waiting on. In general in the world for a lot of big venues is the health experts. Saying okay. It's okay for Y'all to conversion big groups again obviously. That's what's making everything close and cancel because obviously you don't really WANNA DO Games with no fans so that's why obviously they may be like okay. We can start with that but you know obviously if key players getting tested positive for the krona virus that's not going to necessarily help In that situation because you don't want to continue to put players at risk to get it from each other. I'm sure if they ever even did that they would test every single player in the NBA active roster to make sure a voice start. Everybody's cleaning clean. They have to isolate him from the team. So then nobody can get affected by it and everything like that and also the you're going to look into studying how the of isolation in insult they'll show dishes players just to make sure. Are there players going to be a good mindset in a good spot in their life when coming back from such a from such a you know a trying time so we're going to have to really see what happens with that but that's really the update on that front but now we're GONNA get into next segment? We're going to talk about the Atlanta Hawks. I their season in review when I think about this season when I think about their future etc etc. We're GONNA do everything for the show every team that the ship the teams have chosen for the rest of the show. So if you WANNA stay tuned..

"Obviously it can be difficult end. Its can sometimes be an issue. I think that overall I'm sure these guys I wouldn't be surprised at a decent number of players. Come back another year because of this. You know losing this opportunity may make people wanNA come back obviously with the NBA season in in such apparel. What if what if they don't start the Knicks League gear to Jay way to give players a good off-season would've college player maybe Db CONVINCING. Why might as well stay in school? Play another year of college because by the time my season is over the NBA. Inter back probably in the same roof and then I just do everything I'm supposed to do. I'LL GET DRAFTED IN JUNE. And then we'll go from there instead of. Kinda not even knowing if I stopped playing basketball now I mean not play it again to November or December and. It's not because I got eliminated in the tournament either. It wasn't because of. I play my teammates and we lost is going to be there just gone. I thought I had something. So obviously. That's GonNa create a very interesting situation. You I mean you've seen as someone who basketball to you see.

"Welcome back to the DSM basketball podcast. You know so here talking about basketball by shaving down so there's no news so we're just talking about whatever on this podcast so this we're going to go into maybe for guys who game but basketball since his basketball packs. Podcast play Basketball Games. We're GONNA talk about some of the best. Nba Basketball Games have been created because obviously college basketball games have never been popular college. Basketball in general has been popular in regards to gaming even though it was fine it just was never anything anyway would go off the shelves for really obviously growing up it was NBA alive and it was two K. primarily a couple of games here and there that were different so it's interesting So for me obviously being younger I think. Mba live before it went on his hiatus was at the time debatable. One of the Best Basketball Games on the market. Especially Oh nine I think that was the Gilbert Arenas one I think oh nine was good arenas on the cover. That was probably when the best. Beeline Games Obviously NBA lives came back and it's not reached the same status that it used to but at the same time. When you're a game that's been gone for a while and then two KS gain a lot of popularity. It's going to be hard for me to go. WanNa go back to something else especially now that they're used to something that they already have and that obviously affects things The game was so you know especially we had a little like you know you. Have these things called player labels star labels? Oh three point shooter. Speed slasher defender block shots rebound near. I mean you have it now but back when I came out. It really was really initiated. Obviously to K- eventually over time I know from the two K. Games NBA Two K. Eleven with Michael Jordan on the cover was considered one of the best and some people are the last great to K- game in some people's minds Obviously one of the issues when two cases by itself and it's the same issue that man faced. You don't have competition so after a while there's this perception that the quality of Basketball Games has diminished. And I think that.

"And it's like a pretty coordinate like one of the kids in my grade at sports nothing amazing but who's like no you can actually work at this and you can get better like it's possible. It's really like the for one of the first time in my life I ever actually overcame something hard and got better at something so that was That's that's my favorite basketball memory. So I think we can close it on that. I hope you guys enjoyed this hope. It wasn't too. Meta about us but I enjoyed it at least i. I had a good time on anybody. Absolutely Yeah I. It was a good bit of escapism for me. I I feel better about things I we will Talk to you tomorrow actually. We didn't really get a chance to do a full episode. The way he wanted to last night I didn't think it was really appropriate with some of the news. That came out so tomorrow. We are actually going to catch up on our over under predictions for the season and see where we went wrong while to figure out exactly how we're going to extrapolate the records out obviously But it's just a good way to go back and look at our preseason predictions which will probably talk about as well so we'll talk to you tomorrow till them so after thinking about it a little more that that was a fun way to escape for a little while I do a talk just a little bit about the Corona Virus. Stuff just in general. If this is too preachy for you I totally understand. If you don't want to hear from me about this topic I totally understand if you were trying to listen to this. Podcast for just a way to unwind a little bit and not think about this. I totally understand that as well but as I've been saying on twitter. I do think it's important to try to take this opportunity to Marshall whoever I can to the extent that I can to just help minimize the effect of this crisis M. I don't think I've talked about this for on the show. But basically most episodes who knows how many listen to this one put most episodes. We get between thirty and fifty thousand. Listen so that's not a huge number. Obviously but what I want to encourage is just that all of you do as much as you can. To the extent that you think it's appropriate to help get others to do the social distancing and the other recommended mitigations to prevent the spread of this virus as much as we can and I've been thinking a lot about how people talk all the time about viral videos and yeah viruses where it comes from this. It's called viral. Because it spreads incredibly fast and so to beat this virus we have to make our countermeasures just as viral so my suggestion to you guys is to the extent that you can the extent you think it's appropriate socially distance as much as you can. Don't leave your house unless it's absolutely necessary. I'm not really at risk for this but I am not playing going anywhere. I don't have to for my job. There are some people who don't have that luxury or who are doing essential things and so two the amount the we can avoid transmitting this disease even if we personally are at relatively low risk which may not be the case. We don't know that much about this yet. I think we need to try and stay home. And when I'm talking about viral my suggestion is if there's thirty to fifty thousand people. Listen to this podcast. All of you. Please just resolve to text ten people that you think could use some advice on the best practices who aren't necessarily doing as much social distancing as they could and encourage them to do the same if you can convince them or maybe encouraged people that are already doing it to try to reach out to their friends and family as well. So whether it's your bosses your employees your friends your family I think we all need to talk about what we can do together to stay apart. One other I've been having a lot of conversations online with people about this a lot of conversations offline I've been taxing or calling basically everyone I know in just you can always just start off by asking. Hey you know how are you doing? What have you guys been doing to avoid spreading this or on? I think the important thing to me. I mean I've seen a lot of comments and it does seem incredible to a lot of people like you know. There's some people like oh no this thing is. Is that that bad. It's the flu and yet no that is incorrect. Obviously but let's not forget where we all were right like. Was I saying any of this stuff? Four days ago. You're really a there is a friend who in touch with me on Sunday night and was like. Hey you need to start really taking this seriously and I think we all need to be that person for someone else if we can and I think it's definitely people are starting to understand now in a way that they didn't five days ago but for those who don't let's remember like they aren't monsters because we're all in that position as well there. Were people telling us this stuff. Two weeks ago and we weren't listening so try not to be mean to the people that you're trying to convince whether it's online whether it's in person and good way of persuading people is to just say where you were saying you weren't necessarily taking it seriously as you should have been an explain what it was that convince you whether it's research whether it's the risk of your family. I mean there are many powerful arguments about this and maybe I'll try and put something together in the coming days of like the best way to try and convince people this stuff that I've found because I've had a lot of conversations and like get a kind of be willing for people to think that you're a little bit of an Aso. Might be people who are like yeah. We're doing everything like you should know that I would be doing everything like. Don't tell me this okay. Good like it's good that you checked in or there's people who just don't WanNA listen to you. The there people may be annoyed with you but I like. I'm willing to pay that social costs. They're probably a lot of people making fun of me. Like oh you're a basketball writer like why are you talking about this? Why are you trying to tweet about this? And like I'm willing to pay the price of people thinking that about me if it can get the word out and you know it's not necessarily experts like people aren't plugged into. Experts like ideas are viral in our society. Just as much as viruses are. And so the more you can make. It seem normal to all the people in your life that social distancing people have of got it on the handwashing now but that that to closing down businesses. Where really you know. Things are going to get transmitted and I certainly feel for the workers in those businesses but the reality is were probably going to be at the point where everything is going to have to close down because there's either a case associated with the business or there's just a straight up mandate to close from the authorities within about a week or so anyway so maybe it's better to get ahead of that and close now and not have another week of exposure people especially if you're a business where a lot of people come in and out or you're in close quarters and the last thing I'll say is people aren't going to change their minds on this immediately. They need to hear it more than once. Like if especially if you're having a conversation with someone you can't expect people to just snap their fingers and go from arm just GonNa live my normal life this thing. Isn't that big of a deal to okay? I really need to be taking this seriously. Like it takes a while people up to hear that from a lot of different sources before their minds get changed so I would love to hear from you guys on twitter of just. You know some of the stuff that you're doing. I'm sure we can talk about it on future episodes and let's just all try and make a difference the extent that we can could. I think the reality is with some of the Response or lack thereof from the authorities like it is on us. We're just GONNA have to do a better job as a society and I hope that the community of this podcast such as it is can help affect some change again you know to the extent you can maybe even makes it a little uncomfortable. Get in touch with ten people in your life and try as best. You can to encourage them to do what needs to be done. And obviously we'll try and do that to the extent that we can as well especially because there are a lot of people who don't have the luxury of potentially withdrawing from society to the extent that you know. I think many of us can hide. So we'll talk to you next time. Hope this wasn't too preachy. But I think you'll note that I've never ever done something like this before on any issue but this is important enough that I wouldn't feel right if I didn't at least try to get the word out as much as I could touch all next time..

"You just played in more of a team centric concept and I just thought he's a little bit more aesthetically pleasing to me than Jordan much sacrilege for Chicago kid to say that about Jordan has or he would be my number two. I thought about it more of a macro sense and for me As you know. The gangling batted soccer thing. I've always loved passing and I was. I got into sports too late for magic so I mean there. There could be an argument if I had had the the arc that you did that it might have been magic but for me. It is Lebron James and Brandon. I same I mean not the same school obviously but same high school graduating class. I watched him play in high school. And then watched it go. And it wasn't the scoring or the dominant physicality is just that he would see things and I was just. It helped me kind of try to have to see the game differently. Because I'm like how the hell did he know that was coming or whatever else and so that part of Lebron has always been so there. I mean Chris Paul's obviously when my favorites as well and Steph Steph would be my number two and being able to cover his entire career and be able to see so many games in person has also been like in terms of value added in terms of my own life for. That would probably be him. But it's it's I. It's a hard lesson there. There's so many just players that I like right now that I genuinely love watching favorite situation in a game like what's the what's the thing that can happen in a game that just like makes you the happiest. Maybe it goes back to these legs but I love a frantic attempted comeback. I mean when you have to. I've I used the phrase a lot of NBA cast of the perfect game. And that that feeling we're even when one comes out of nowhere like I've seen that one. Where was I think? It was Indiana Boston a couple years ago. We're like Boston. Created a turnover out of nothing and then got another chance when it looked like it was over but those two thousand sixteen years would have that a lot too took great. I'm glad you brought that up. That's a great one because it's like especially when it's a great team and especially when it's a team that's been dominant and then all of a sudden you can tell that they feel that their hard work is like slipping away and so their their effort can get and we saw that for them so many times that you're 'cause going for seventy three wins and they were down Laden Sony Games. Where they're just like all right. They're getting so frantic. And it's like riding this going to help them or are they gonna go over the edge and just completely lose it. I in terms of their intensity and they had that in them to do that. Too as it turned out but I mean that team won basically every important clutch game until the very end Alaska and finally didn't use. It was incredible but yeah I mean I started or up you but you got me like fired up is like that is that is awesome so the the Ucla Gonzaga game that happened. I don't really remember. Oh Yeah we do. We could do again so that would. Ucla was down. Kinda WANNA say like sixteen in the second half and just got every stop and started actually scoring baskets and then got a crazy steal. Yeah that I mean I was going to post that in the David Aldridge threat today of like things that things that from your memory. But it's like yeah that that's what that game was for like ten minutes. Yeah for for me like if you watch the NBA cast. You'll hear they'll say I'll say I'll be like a and I say that when you can tell there's a guy who has a runway going to the basket and you can tell there's also some there who might be in position to try and stop them and especially if it's someone who can go up and you know has that big dunk ability. I mean that's that's the thing that just drives me to just reach like another level when I'm watching a basketball game just like that makes me almost WANNA WANNA get up like when Donovan. Mitchell misses the first the floater. And then he's like you can see that he's going to rise up and dunk it on like four guys or PSA bonus last year when he put it on embiid in that game really. I mean there's been a ton of awesome dunk so we've seen obviously in the NBA cast but like when you just feel like this is going to happen. But we don't know what's going to happen. That's like the moment for me that But your answer was actually better my my bills mundane in comparison. your The most awesome play that you've ever seen basketball level level. I interpreted this as seen in person and I think he probably did as well and I know I I actually was thinking about As any play TV get to be watching live at least yeah mine was in person but I I was including the whole unit. Okay actually this was just so awesome so for me but some of it is also the visceral experience being there. Live like you can appreciate it in a different way so I mean suffer. Some people who were in the building you probably would have been the Lebron the brunt block that was because we saw him run full court. That was seeing that but for me it was a play. I've actually brought this up a couple of times and I'm still waiting for somebody to pull the video. I can't do it for some reason when I was in college. And I swear this happened in at least in my brain. Trevor Reza than a freshman in college like me dumped over Mike Johnson. Who is this like six foot? Seven Washington Center. I bring this up periodically to Kevin Pelton and he basically dunked over me. I think he pushed off a little bit. You know like not full-time chambers but in the in that range and might bring couldn't process it like I. I didn't know that was kind of one of those. Like maybe you've seen highlights. You've told me others player that you've like desperately looked for a clip of it because what happened during this time when the PAC ten like wasn't really doing a job of like logging their video. It's not on synergy. I've gone through various different things over these. I figured out which game but took place but yeah it was. It was crazy and the crowd just like basically just started screaming his name throughout the next few possessions which was also weird for polly. It was insane and that was it was a very special moment and it was like my freshman year when I fell in love with basketball to see somebody do that. was was amazing. So for me I swear to God. This really happened. A little background The Chicago area they always. I'm sure there's a lot of places like this to that. Have Christmas basketball. That happened like right after Christmas. One of the most prestigious ones was the proviso West Tournament in Chicago provides a wessells like in our conference like usually the best team in our conference a lot. A lot of really good basketball players have gone there. Robert Covington most recently went there. I think and that's right next to proviso east to where a ton of guys have gotten Shannon Brown's ruling Brown Michael Finley etc. But at this tournament it was the last game. The night I went with my friend I was a junior. I wasn't playing at all on the Varsity but I just went there to just go and watch the game and I can't even remember who they're playing. There was a high school cold Dunbar in Chicago and one of the things that I always was struck by. Is that a lot of the schools and I think there again in the the red west of the Red South Division but a lot of these schools they would show up like you go to play him or like these guys are like they're all like you know five nine six foot six foot one and then you'd start playing them and they probably like press and they could all jump out of the gym. They all had awesome handles. They had one or two guys who are just like crazy shooters and you would just get out of the gym by teams like this. And so John. Barr started doing that to this team At the Proviso West Holiday Tournament in Nineteen Ninety six. And so this was probably maybe like eight minutes left in the fourth quarter. Now I guess only eight minute quarters so like six minutes left in the fourth quarter. Maybe someone missed a shot on Dunbar and these two little like five eleven dudes both jump at the same time both grab the ball on the offensive rebound and both tip dunk it at the same time grabbing the room at the same time breaking the backboard and there's like a forty five minute delay. That's amazing before there. I was shocked that they actually have like another replacement. Backboard Ilbo just as High School Gym in Japan is the last game of the night. 'cause you know it was like the first round of this tournament or something. I swear to God this really happened. It was like I've never seen anything like these. Two five eleven dues. It was insane like a probably both weigh like a buck thirty and they just both got up. They they double tip dunk at broke the backboard. I'll never see anything like that again. In my entire life I happen to be there for. I've never heard of that happening before. It was insane. I I will switch now here actually. Let's take a quick break then Got a few more categories. I wanted to get to here. This has been fun actually. I'm actually in a much better mood as we're doing. This indochino is the official outfitter of my wedding. "Quip the Good Habits Company and don't forget that /capspace you are also came from us so part to this which I thought would be really fun. Is it just a breakdown? A few of our favorites from our time as more even basketball fans may be than analysts. So I will start here my favorite game that I've ever watched and I came up with three candidates what was game six of the twenty thirteen. Nba Finals one was game. Five of the Nineteen ninety-three Eastern Conference Finals bulls-knicks And the last one is game. Six of the Twenty Sixteen Western Conference finals. The the Klay Thompson game. That was the only one That happened why was really a full-fledged me a member I was Kinda dipping my toe in the media waters back in two thousand thirteen but those are the three. That really came to mind for me. I I do remember any of those games. Amy I can talk a little about why. Oh I they resonate I mean. Obviously you remember the play Games. Twenty thirteen finals as well. Yeah we actually by the way if you need more content. We did episode of that. Oh was that stitcher stitcher. Yeah maybe we can do well. We're going to. We'll probably do some more going back and watching classic games and talking about him but Yeah I'm guessing probably since we have been doing that for awhile. Nobody still subscribed to such premium. Well if you do subscribe though. I think it's still. Yeah I mean I would encourage people to subscribe to other stuff. That actually helps us at this point. So the ninety three East finals are probably the regained glide. People don't remember Nick Scott. The number one seed that you're the Bulls had just had won the last two championships. Knicks had maybe either that year or the year after was statistically maybe the greatest defense of all time and Knicks within the first two New York. John starks comes in with that lefty on the baseline in game. Two to seal it over three bulls and looks like the Knicks are GonNa just win the series very easily Jordan shoots three eighteen in game. Three Bulls still win at home. He drops fifty four in game. Four on just an incredible diet of shots. I mean. That team was so good at getting nothing at all. Just impossible. Mid Range Fatos puts up fifty four to tie series and comeback Jordan as a triple double in game five and that was of course the Charles Smith Game. I remember watching it. I just got back from a vacation out. It's like basically we're listening to the first part of on the radio. I'm telling my dad to Florence. We could get back and watch the end of the game and so I did end up actually seeing. Bj Armstrong's three in the corner that put them ahead With I think about a minute left and then the Charles Smith but that was just that game was such a war and I just had never edibles ended up winning it in six but like that game the level of intensity in that game and just what it meant was off the charts. We in Chicago near a a seven game series the year before. It looks like the Knicks have been better than the regular season and the bowl. Like it really didn't seem like the Bulls we're gonNA pull through in that series after going down to zero. It always looks inevitable now but that was that game was the closest they ever came to losing a series of once. They started winning the three pizza. So that was also guys that is that the same game that came on when we were together one time and I started making fun of how terrible no that was the second point. Game four okay. We're watching that. Maybe like two thousand fourteen or something something something like that. You feel free to go back into some of those people. People know gastric in two thousand thirteen and in two thousand sixteen. Did you have another one? That really stuck out to have. I have a couple so the way I separated. It was my emotional favorite game like has kind of separating fandom and then the best game I ever attended in person and so the my favourite game ever emotionally in. This will not be surprised to people who can figure out the chronology life was the Ucla Gonzaga game and that which is that a Morton's Morrison's a- favorite Game Adam Morrison's favorite game ever and that Emmy is is the quintessential remember. I was a fan for a very short period of time before it became an analyst. I started covering the league with a credential during law school so it was really about a five year span but it just so happened that three of those five years. Ucla amid the final four and that game was that was the sweet sixteen and it was. So I'll tell two stories with one is that was during finals at Ucla and it was the quarter system sucks by the word. Oh it's dismal. Absolutely just won't and so there was this hilarious dynamic I mean. Ucla is a school. That does care about basketball. And but not universally enemy was. That was the first that was the first year what of what became a final four year and when. Ucla won that game. I'll refrain from using we even though I do with my school Half of the dorms went insane because it was late it was like I think ten. Pm Pacific and the other half was just ballistic. Because it's like you woke us up during finals or whatever is going on and then it was this really funny argument but then the other part is that game in many ways haunts me more because of so. I had a final Labor Economics. Final at nine. Am The next morning. And that game occurred at Oracle Arena and Oakland and I just went. Yeah maybe it's possible to go but I mean I'm totally gassed. It's a final. It's important and all that and so I have a tape. If if it was me I stayed up the night before every single one of my final thirty nine. I did no work before the right exactly and so I I had a ticket to the game because then I was basically I bought. You had to buy tickets in bunch to in Paris because it wasn't depending on how many games goes and I knew I was going to be able to go to the game if we made it which. Ucla ENDED UP BEATING MEMPHIS and that. So I have a ticket to that game the best game my like emotionally that. I that I ever saw but I go and one of my good friends who Show Hitchcock did go and did take the final with me and so he periodically just got a better grade I. I don't know I didn't talk that much. I'm guessing I'm guessing it was close. Both of us didn't do particularly well. I've imagining you like not talking about your greatest your friend because you're just like low key so insanely competitive that you would like if they gun better than you would have just been driven insane. Yes that is true and it's and so I think that you know so it is that weird dynamic of it's like yeah it was it was amazing and it was an unforgettable moment but also like. I could have been there and you know my friends who were there. That's that's an experience for them but then the other one is for me what I would say in some ways maybe more so memorable than favorite was game seven in two thousand sixteen and what finals finals game seven twice a year because the warriors played multiple game seven the Ravens in the in the playoffs. But we were actually sitting together for that game and I mean beyond the indelible moment we were on the far side seeing. Bron running down the four and I think both of us said like he's probably GonNa get to this and that sort of moment for me. What was so interesting was especially because I had covered a lot of those players for a large portion of their careers to see the nerves. That were on the floor that that game and just these players who were so battle-tested all almost everybody in that series had been in a finals before and they were nervous like that part of the reason that fourth quarter was so terrible as because the nerves were getting out and they were playing better defense offense. They're bunch of other things but at kind of as a somebody who enjoys the human condition. Seeing that in person was so fundamentally different because it kind of Isis spent time thinking in that game about legacy and thinking about stepping up to the moment like all those kinds of talk show narratives that I don't think about as much because it was just all right there and it was and I mean the durant thing was I mean obviously had been involved in generally in that for all time that you're thinking about all those things in the moment and that was extremely rare for me to be kind of in that and to know kind of like we did in that. Okay see series to know how big a deal something is. At the moment. It's happening is a really cool thing. And that's sometimes even in basketball. That doesn't always happen. And I mean we talked about how that like how that game before it started like what gave you ranked all of the Games in NBA history of like. How important is this game before? The game started Like decking might be number one in terms of just historical impact of like like ases in the NBA. Yeah it's absolutely fantastic. So those were those were the two that stood out to me. I mean I could. Most of my other favorites would probably involve. He'll I mean one of the other ones I thought of was when we beat. Lsu In the first final four then get our ass kicked by Florida but it was that that lets you game was really fun and I was like three rows off the floor and got to see in the in that football stadium got to see a school win a final four game which was pretty awesome is yes all all that kind of stuff. was was very cool but so those those were my nominees So yeah I mean if I had to pick one. It probably would be That game six Oklahoma City Warriors. I've watched that game that I've watched that game three times now once alive obviously and then I watched it again. I remember with Oh I watched it on the one year anniversary and then wash again when I was writing the book. Yeah I watch that game actually. My wife was the maid of honor at a wedding that those that night and so I'm like watching the game on my phone like as like and I didn't really know the people that will like watching the game on my phone under the table but like all the other dudes at the wedding. We're like totally ignoring it. Too and like watching it with my phone so eventually I was just ordered to go home and watch the second half. All of that fits beautifully. Yeah well and obviously we needed to do apart immediately. Afterwards because it was such an EPA came all right Favorite player watch over. Of course I've grown up in Chicago in the nineties is Michael Jordan and so I had it really agonized over this one ultimately. I I gotta go with Steph Curry though. Because I think like Jordan's style is just a little bit too individualistic for me whereas curry just moves without the Baltimore?.

"Model pleases offering trade had at the trade deadline and attention could have picked up the big man. He wanted to go back to you. Know Stay you get the number. One overall draft pick this off season. He's use it to trade for a four star to add to their team to win another championship the next year and also Houston some signs Demari Carol and Jeff. Green to finish out in both of their roster. They continue with their small ball president to be able to winning in some of the best teams without having a big man in the NBA. I'll miss this last show so I promise I'll talk about. Ap poll here. I'll give you all the top ten right here right now. Obviously still sitting at number one two Baylor bears. No Baylor no dominant have a big batch of coming up this weekend. Kansas We'll talk about that game later. But there They've defended people like the most dominant team. Obviously August twenty six and one. You know how this goes. Their their conferences pretty weak so they usually go undefeated on their conference every year. But they do a big game coming up against. Byu Win The few teams that have been able to beat Gonzaga on a yearly basis. Or at least be able to give me your hostess losses. So that's obviously a big game coming up Kansas. Obviously I talked about them playing bailers thousand at the beginning for them. They're number three in the country number. Four the undefeated San Diego state right now. There are currently a one seed right now and have to finish out undefeated to keep that Dayton is number five. They're currently in the two seeds They-they've I've told you this was the lookout for publicity starting in the next proven to be the best teams in the country. So this is why I say look for certain teams like this because they have all the town world to be a potentially in the final four innovative essentially the national championship bring a championship at Cleveland or actually Dayton Ohio number six duke. Obviously do coming off a very big loss on my talk about in the Knicks and then into the scores of upsets last week. But they were six this week probably would now seven. Maryland Maryland has has has has been on a fantastic winning streak. They've looked at one when they've looked as one of those dominant teams in all college basketball right now and they've played very very well number eight to Florida state symbols right now Also looking like a very dominant team the ACC Continue out there to come out there every day. Play a high level and continued win. And that's why we're always going to better teams. Usually in the country number nine Penn State Number Penn state the team that lost people. Don't talk about but as slowly been one of the best teams in the big ten. And now they've Richard Top ten and got recognition they deserve and the finish of the top ten Kentucky Kentucky's planes from the best basketball right now and that's what's helping them really stay on top of their game and be successful at all times. So now we're GONNA get into some upsets also. This happened this week so far. I upset happened on Tuesday as Illinois is beat number. Now in Penn. State's obviously they're gonNA drop. But they beat Penn state sixty two fifty six. Obviously this is a big loss for them Illinois getting a key. Victory Seventy nine right now. Probably projected on the bubble into our at large bid so winning a bit winning a game. We Penn state was huge for them. And I'm sure that this will help. Contribute to their potential success in the future also. Nc State Destroys Duke. Eight sixty six I was one of the worst losses. Deuce had as top ten team to UNRANKED team in history. And obviously this is going to definitely tremendously help. Nc state as they are seventeen to nine get into the tournament by beating dominating a team like the Duke Blue Devils so obviously it was a big loss for them but they were able to come up with a big victory and also George. Upsetting Auburn. S- Fifty five sixty five. Obviously Georgia's had a disappointing season after expecting to be better with number one overall crew afterwards joining. Obviously that has not happened. They're pretty much out of the tournament at this point but they can still play spoiler and they've done that. Auburn has been one of the worst road teams in the country. Losing all their games on the road. So that's so far was happening. Now we're GONNA get into some games this weekend that you should watch out for starting with. We'RE GONNA go Thursday to Saturday. Maybe even Sunday to obviously beginning is Ohio. That's a big game. Obviously with a big big ten matchup of both teams coming in here Playing some some decent basketball Ohio state to to to Gay Street. I was let one game winning streak house to sixty four in the last ten seven three for Iowa so obviously both of those guys are GonNa come out there and competing at a high level. We're going into the Saturday games. Obviously with the big match ups obviously the Big Matchup Kansas. Baylor twelve o'clock game. Espn big match versus three. Obviously based on twenty three game winning Streak Kansas. Eleven game winning streak so both. These teams are on fire right now. Two of three of the Kansas Law came on the road. They are nine three on the road. So we'll have to see how they handled the environment of Baylor. Baylor is is a team that the dominant but Kansas has also played some of their best basketball and they louis they could be dominant. So we're going to have to see what happens when it gets down to it. Obviously the beginning. Bayton vs on how to say their name completely. I WANNA say squeezed. It sounds like a French name but basically match up this week and their division because they're eighteen seven and they're one of the better teams that they have within days conference and date needs to win this game to stay at the two seed right now in the tournament. Obviously they can't really suffer any losses but they also have any major wins to get him into the ones. Another big game is Houston number. Twenty two Houston Twenty one. Six thousand eight Memphis Memphis is fourteen four at home this year. So they're having their. They're playing very well. Homebound chooses. Not if one of the road. They're playing very on the road You know he says eight hundred last ten so they're playing some great basketball right now. Memphis has been even five and five so if an up and down with their basketball play. But it really just depends a really just depends. Obviously the big matchup vote over versus Xavier Xavier still fighting for tournament spot going on the best teams in their conference. November twenty six Novas on a three game winning streak right now seven and three in the last ten playing some of their best games and it really really just GonNa come down to your offense in this game You know right now. There are one hundred eighty I of the country and six so if they can score more Villanova with I have a chance to win this game in potentially still break into it with another quality victory that they potentially looking for out here Obviously another big game floors. Stay coming off the beatdown of Duke filling themselves a lot of momentum right now at home going to get Florida state coming into their house. They think maybe we can get another upset. We can beat this team. And if we do with two top ten victories. They've gotten one week which were now. Create them Purba probably going to be a pretty good seed and obviously. Nc State is a team. They if you're in a bracket and you great brackets. They could be a bracket buster because they've shown they can beat the best of the best in the entire college basketball land you cannot sleep on the NC State Wolfpack now the Game Kentucky and Florida geography coming into the game. Twenty twenty-five going into seven and nine Florida gators win six three in a row of five in a row before analyzed Florida. Down to one in the last ten for Kentucky.

"Emcee basketball podcast. Last last segment. We talked about the Lakers and Clippers Christmas game. Because I was the biggest game of all the Christmas Games broke down. My thoughts on that game happened between Lebron Kawai and some things going into the season and maybe both teams can take some weaknesses. Concerns for the Lakers and positive for the clippers. The both teams are kind of at this point in the season. Still trying to learn each other and so trying to get better throughout the year. So you don't want to take too much from these games. You don't want to say here as a fan think. Oh with my teams. We get into the clippers. Just just just just just take take this as another stepping stone. It's still early season. We just got done with the first of the season index-linked report to the future for now. We're going to talk about the other basketball games that happen tonight. We're GONNA start with Celtics and wrap your celtics one eighteen one or two over the raptors in Toronto. Jaylen Brown was leading scorer with thirty youngest August player in in Christmas. History to score thirty points and Lebron's the youngest writing this game. Boston just came out and in in play like the better team now. The Raptors had a quick ten or run start game but after that it was all Boston records. Were coming to this game very short hint. They didn't have Siachen who's ALGEBRAIC. They didn't have Markelle saw. I believe they didn't have another player. And basically they came into this game. Undermanned at a lot of points in the game You kinda saw they just have enough firepower to beat the Boston Celtics Boston. Celtics really good. This year Kimball Walker has is really just ingratiated himself into the team very well and Jalen Brown in Jayson tatum fleet. Well you know last year. They weren't looking at the same place. We thought from that first year when they make that elite elite Playoff run. But now they're looking like those players again and they're and they're playing great basketball in the bosses of desert team that could cause some chaos in the playoffs because they they have some guys. You know Aaron thing. Everybody knows the role. Everybody knows what they need. You and everybody knows how to play together. And that's one of the most important things while the season you want to build the ability to know how to play together. Do you know how to to work together. Team Chemistry is the most important things you can have. You WanNa make sure that you you know how to play with each other when it comes to certain opponents raptors when they get healthy are not going to be slouch I think the raptors making healthy obviously teaming also being reckon with WHO Siachen the the best player of the hat. He's been twenty points a game this year. He's he's literally all star Luis Year. He's played great basketball. And everything tells you that the raptors are going to be in the pitcher because the defending champions you gotta put respect on their name. They are defending champions. They are one of the best teams in the NBA. To me in my opinion hit are very well coached by nurse and I think that when they get healthy they'll be Ready to go but Boston Celtics win this game tonight. They came out. They outplayed a plate of basically may outplayed them. They beat him and and they deal with. You need to do to be successful at the end of the day and credulous in the Celtics for a big win because also also Boston snapped an eight game losing streak in Toronto. They last eight times that Boston's been in Toronto. So that's a big big of snap. Snap snap breaker for The Boston Celtics next game. Seventy sixers bucks seventy sixers. One one twenty one one nine embiid is very dominant is this gang was probably the best player on the floor in this game. EMBIID had thirty one points and eleven rebounds in just twenty eight minutes by nonetheless he had got more points than he played minutes and he was just dominant over the defensive end he was dominant on the boards who's dominant paint and they really shut down on. Jonah's only eighteen importance game. He had fourteen rebounds double double seven assists but he was eight from twenty seven from the field. I was not very efficient and seven from the three point line. This was a game. Aim where criminals carry this thirty one night but usually you rather have Christmas having dirty worn on having thirty one because the impacts of those scores the different arching game really the seventy sixers are probably the best match ups for the mock you bucks because they have life all over the floor. Jaanus is not bigger than anybody against Simmons. That's how the rappers me and locked him up just as big and strong as honest and he locked up up plus they have those guys like a bucket disol- he had run into the paint and that wasn't making museum. Really the seventy sixers have built the same way. That's wise extremely important for the bucks to be able to to be able to shoot and the honesty she the jumper or the three. He doesn't even have to shoot a three if he can get mid-range because if they log down the paint it will but he can pull make me arrange it will matter and right now. He's struggling to hit. The May range shot. I think that's was keeping him from being a successful as he could be. I think that you know things can change if he can prove that. Throughout the season and the Senator Susan took advantage of that night and they played a greg. Gosh Richardson had one of his best games for the six zero On Christmas night and and right now based off this game we were trying to look into this game regaining his game right now with the seventy sixers of the best in the East right now. Because they're so shocked figured out including two starters take lineup for the books are pretty much. Bring everybody back steps new bench pieces and Michael Brogden being the starting lineup. They had Dante giving chancellor starting point today. Obviously you see without Eric. WHO's out with injury now? But he so we can also look at the fact that the books were not full strength today and maybe you can maybe make an excuse for them but in this is game flat out seventy sixers beat him from start to finish day. They completely outplayed. Walkie Bucks Tonight and Anchorage Relations to seventy sixers because this was definitely a statement. Eight me win a statement when they wanted to make statements to lead like. Hey we're here and don't don't don't think any of us because we're we're we're going to be there. We think we're the best we think we're GONNA make today and we think will be anybody who comes out of the Western Conference because the Senate sixers from a defensive standpoint when the best teams in the re and if Ben Simmons get some points points in the playoffs and embiid dominated why why why not. Why couldn't they make but in other scores the upset of the day warriors beat the rockets one? Sixteen to one for this was a very big game also weighs one three in a row. Houston disappointed night. They did not play in a better games. Hardened struggled early. In the game and Russell Westbrook was day inefficiential officiate windows nights where he had thirty one but he was very inefficient. I believe he was eight. Twenty seven hundred floor. I believe he he did not have a great game tonight. the Golden State Warriors. You know this is a team that people thought season was over because they lost curry sauce clay and they thought the scene was taking and the team from a tower perspective is depleted the talent from what they had what they still play hard. They still play harder. Steve Kerr Great. Jobs Steve Kerr and the coaching staff getting these guys ready to replay and they really came out there and play Greg and they executed the game plan on. James Harden whispered that worked. And that's a Babbel's who was able to help them win this game. The key was that in the first half. James Harms into the wrong second-half James Rankin reform. And that's what to me. Make the difference in the game because he got to stop. James Harden not buckets in the warriors and the Gossiping performances. Alec Burks Works Draymond. Green had a career pie points. You Know Danja. Russell wasn't the best from the field but he gave him some offense. They got some players who contributed. It really helped out and I think that's what really created the the the upset tonight The rocks go back. Look at themselves and be like. Oh Hey what did we do wrong in this game against against early in the season so you you have these games like this is winning people. Forget you have these types of games and during an eighty two game season you will be upset by team. You have no business listening to it. If you're a great team you don't let it happen again. I believe they play each other. Four times lethal beaten before this once is a great story for warriors to win on Christmas Day volume injuries and everything. That's happened to him so far this season to beat the Houston Rockets. You know people are GonNa make names about it saying oh here comes. The rockets still can't be warriors without clay clay. Katie in an instead. But this is this is just a great Win for them. Great Team Win for them. And don't worry though when we get back to your your watch one but reap the Arkansas need need to get back on track in just walks in the next game. I think it'll be fine. And then in the last game of Christmas Healthcare Nuggets Elkins when once well one hundred Pretty much control of this game from start to finish Brandon Ingram thirty one points team his Excellency. That's why he's running from most improved player. This year he has been excellent this year for you guys very very good these guys. He has played extremely well. And he's one the reasons why you know they have a chance to so it's back to really be good team nature. There's still some debate ashes up the entire year raining room with someone who's deathly playing himself into a mass contract. He's playing himself into you know just showing that he was not the bus that people thought he was and he showed it tonight In this game really the nuggets. You really didn't have the juice today. I don't think they had to choose when I watched the game. They seem like they were just kind of an auto pilot in the in the in the PELICANS. One hundred mortar them. They wanted it more than they went for the loose ball say scrapped and just played well in office again usually usually Pelicans weaknesses defensive and then tonight they played a pretty good defensive game. That's that's one of the weaknesses of this young team and they and they play defensively and that's an they've always been bruce court. That's one of the things that token tapping scorn and so them getting tonight really is for them and moving forward but coming up next. We're GONNA talk about some around news. "Lead proposed rules that they're gonNA WANNA have a couple of seasons where they make a new season turney reduce reduce the number of regular season games and also reseed the playoffs only have the best sixteen teams instead of just from conference the conference. But now we're going to go into what I call my rap at ten where I talk about five games from the NBA and five games from college. That I think you should go and see this week if your lover of basketball like I am I game starting in the NBA. The seventy sixers. Last time they played embiid hit a game winner. Over joker an offense Hassi game between the two in Philadelphia. This time is going to be a denver. It'll be interesting to see this game. Now the seventy sixers have been kind of up and down so far since that game there route four fifty. I believe in the Eastern Conference the nuggets of also. Oh kind of been up and down. They've had a couple of lackluster performances. If you WANNA cash game you cash t and T on Tuesday. I think it'll be a great game to watch and I can't I look forward to the next game. Is the the clippers and raptors. I think the clippers are GonNa win this game. I think this is the first game back for Hawaii Toronto. I think that's going to be a very interesting time to see how the crowd reacts I think the crowds going mcteer him. I think the crowds going to give him a great reaction. I think the crowd is going to embrace him because they realize where he brought to the city. I I think the clippers will come out with the wind with don't be surprised of. CRM has a big game by game. Cassia is definitely alive for a second breakout player of the year. Next game seventy sixers and Celtics. That's always a good game. Those teams have been playoff rivals. They've always been a rival rival. Remember we've looked at that team as the team that the seventy sixers need to get through. They wanted to get to the Eastern Conference finals. And now it's not them anymore. Is the Milwaukee Bucks and they might meet them in these. Yeah I was flannels but Boston always plays the sixers really well. It's always a great game. It's specially with Boston's in seventy such as being so good this year. I think it just adds ads intrigue to the game. This game will also be TNT on a Thursday national televised game. Also so you could cash this game whenever you have time. I definitely would advise you to go wash game. 'cause you're you're GONNA see a great game between Kim Walker and Ben Simmons. That's the matchup for me. I want to look at the next game. And this is one of the most intriguing games to me Lakers in heat the surprise team of Jimmy Butler playing extremely well. This year they played great basketball. So many breakout young players. Such young talent great coaching just great everything with the heat and they're going against it. Looks like the literally unstoppable Lakers right now with Anthony Davis on the Brawn James. Playing some of the best basketball. They've played in their entire careers. Really I mean the broads looking like he's twenty five and seventeen year in the league like He. He looks great right now. I think that'd be interesting match up it's on. ESPN on a Friday. I think that I if I had to pick the game. I'd go with if the Lakers just because of what I've seen but do not be surprised if the heat win this game. The heat are a team. That's coming and I think the heat one game like this because they want to show to the entire nation at the record and their star is not a fluke and then finally for the NBA Games the top NBA Games for the week for me is the heat in the Mavericks That's a Saturday. Game is not a nationally televised. Oh by game but I find that a very also coming back to back for the Miami. He after playing against the Lakers and now they're playing against the mavericks who are considered now atop team the western conference. I I think that that would be a great game to see. Just Luca Danni Jr.. 'cause I know I know at some point the game. They're going to have some Luca Jimmy Butler contests and I think that's going to be a great sight to see just seeing those to go at it. Both teams are are you could say are both the surprises of their own conference this year. Obviously the Mavericks in the West in the Miami Heat in the in the east. I think that's a game that to me. If you got league pass watch it if you can find it anywhere else watch it like I said. It's not Nash Televised Game. But definitely if if you're not a football fan in and you WanNa Watch Basketball China wash the game you won't regret it and now we're GonNa get into the top college basketball games. My Five Live I a Tuesday Game Butler versus Baylor on Tuesday night. I think that'd be a great match up. The Baylor. Bears look like a great team this year. I think they're a team gene. That could make a deep run in the play in the tournament. This year and Butler's undefeated Butler has remained one of the top mid major schools. Even even after Brad Stevens left even after Sheldon Mac even after Gordon Hayward they have remained consistently good they're just one of those teams. They're basically Gonzaga would just not as nationally prominent because Gonzaga's always ranked as a top ten team every year Butler is in but they always play themselves into a top-ranking every year though make the tournament. This games would be great. I can't wait for next game and these next three. Four Games are all Saturday games except Saint Louis and Auburn that that game. I'll talk about later. That's a Sunday. The Game Michigan Versus Organ Eye. That'd be a great game. It'll be interesting to see what happens. Oregon is coming with some momentum. They've won a few games. I think that they their feeling themselves right now. Third they're really great. Shooting Team Memphis. Michigan is a great team with John. Howard gin those guys playing really well like I said they lost Louisville on Monday? I I think the bounce back. They've won the game sense. I think that this game will really show where both teams are right now and I think this is a game that definitely if you love you some basketball you should definitely we watch next game Memphis in Tennessee. This is a in state game so but both teams are nationally ranked and this is a game that definitely people are gonNA WANNA soon to Memphis has always been known as a great basketball school and they haven't been seen as that recently but this year they're really getting back on track and going against is Tennessee. WHO's usually a pretty decent to good basketball team every year This year they look pretty good. Both teams only have one loss so leading up to that game. So it'll be interesting to see what happens. I think I look forward to that one just to see that. That'll that battle on the board because they both have excellent big men. I really look forward to watching that game name. The next game is Gonzaga and Arizona You know this is always a good game Zog in that team that you know. They don't have any flashy players or any flashy not anything but their team that is solid and consistent year after year. They're playing Arizona. A great team usually basketball program out there in Arizona. Their team there is also one of the three point shooting teams in the NC Double A.. This year and I think that'd be interesting style matchups. Because you know there's always known to have this very creative and crafty big man and they and it's still continuing this year and I think that'd be a great match up to see between those two teams and just to see what happens. You know just seeing how that plays out in an Auburn in Saint Louis was. This is the game. That's on a Sunday. Actually but I think this game is interesting because Saint Louis isn't rank but they're one of those mid major schools basketball programs programs that are usually always intention to make the tournament. They're usually good every year. Auburn is a very good basketball program. They've emerges that especially over these last few two years making their tournament making the deep run last year. I think this game is going to be a game. That will fly under the radar but I think could be one of the best games on the entire weekend of basketball. Aw So I think you should turn into that game because that game is definitely a game ongoing to try to watch if I can because the bills are two pretty good team. So don't don't be surprised though of Saint Louis. They're not ranked they'd be Auburn. They get the upset. So if you want my picks for all these games I'll go back through the game NBA. I got the sixers news against the nuggets. I got the clippers. INQUIRERS RETURN TO TORONTO. I have the Celtics speeding. The sixers on Thursday on TNT. I have the heat upsetting the Lakers. I know I know it's Kinda crazy. I have them upsetting the Lakers. I think I think they're going to pull out the win at Miami too so you never know of jet. Atlanta became a factor in that game with them calling. Fine Cross the coast. Maybe not for the brier. Because you'll be on the east coast but in every now and then for the Heat Mavericks. I'm going with the mavs. I I think after a back to back playing and emotional game I think is going to be against L. A.. I think the Dallas Mavericks are GonNa come out there and beat the Miami Heat so I think that would be a great game though and everything everything. My top college games my choices. I Have Butler remaining undefeated beating the Baylor bears. I think they're going to beat them. This coming Tuesday. I think bachelor's just they look like a really good team right now and I think I think this is a game. They also need to just solidify themselves as a team to be reckoned with in college basketball. I got Michigan Oregon. I got Michigan here. I think they're going to bounce back. I think they've they wonder game this past weekend and also remember. They needed that after losing to blue Monday. And I think they'll continue their romance him and I'll be gal organised losses this season. But I still think it is not over for them. I think they're still gonNA pass back especially when you get play expecting to have a great commerce record Memphis Tennessee see. I'M GONNA go with Tennessee here. I think Tennessee is the better team. Even though Memphis is not that far behind like I said Memphis has not been on the map as much recently. But they're getting back and and I think this will be a great game now. This game really go either way. But I'm going to go with the volunteers here Gonzaga Arizona. I think Saag when this game that team. They're are going to win. Most of these Games is going to be close. But I think as I got this game right here. I think they're gonNA come. I would've victory here. And lastly Saint Louis I one. It'd be like let me go with another upset. Let me go saint Louis. But I'm going to go with Auburn here. I think Auburn is going to win the ball game and and I think this game also also could go either way definitely either way if when when the line comes on this game I definitely WanNa see what that is. 'CAUSE I if you're a betting man I if it's close you might WanNa take because I feel like this is going to be close definitely definitely flight this game's going to be closed because these are teams that are you know just as good as each other and they really can just compete at a high level and really give you a game that you don't even think you're GonNa get but I do WanNa get you know but you guys there you go right there thank you for listening to the MC podcast brought to you by the GMC podcast network. "We talked about how this narrative in the NBA. About how you we need or if you're a team does well without their star player. Maybe the team doesn't need. I had to kill that narrative right there. There were talking about what career we can Brooklyn and now we're about to switch over to college basketball. We're GONNA TALK ABOUT AP twenty-five poll and we're GonNa talk about the top ten teams plus some teams. I think looking at the poll that can really early makes noise during the season and going into the incidentally tournament in March. We're GONNA START AT number ten. The Duke Blue Devils. Obviously coming enough that loss to Stephen F. Austin about a week and a half two weeks ago Game winning bucket at the Buzzer was a hard time for Duke. Because that was that was the big loss. I mean th that you would never expect them to lose to a team like that and I think that it really helped them get their heads back on right because sometimes you need those type of losses basis to get your team's head right Trae Jones being deleted do cut these guys back and ready to play and so far I feel like since then. They play three games and they've won all three so I think they're back on track. I think they're going to be a team that they're always good during the regular season probably competing for ACC championship but something about Duke in the tournament scares me. It's kind of funny. Remember last year resigned committed. They were talking about how when he committed there. He's himself up for early exit because ever since the championship they won. Duke just hasn't been the same in postseason play number nine Gonzaga Gonzaga's the one team. I always just feel like is so weird. The one team not from a major conference and literally there in a conference where they lose a game a there. They literally have to win the tournament to get in because they play in such such a week conference where a lot of those teams are not good so they lose the one of those teams. It's like the the selection staff is going to look at them. Be Like like Will you lost to this team. They're three twenty five like we can't. We can't let you win. Their conference is not that good but every year. They're in the top in every year they're competing with the best teams and they don't even get the five star recruits. They don't even get the top players they get a lot of three star to star. Guys guys develop them and make them good of the play against those guys because remember college basketball. Is that weird sport. It's one of those sports where you could just have straight top freshman and still be better in every team in the League number eight Kentucky Kentucky this year. They're I think they're going to win the SEC this year. But I think is going to be tough though. I think Georgia is going to give him a run for the money and obviously Auburn Auburn Eight Novica. They're ranked fourteenth in the poll. I think Kentucky has a lot of talent They they they've pretty much ever Giacobbi has been there. Do they do the same the same. Same thing while coaches do in big conferences get the top freshman the nation to come and usually win their division US win their conference and make this argument. And I think that's it's just GonNa be what's going to happen again. This year for Kentucky Kentucky is going to be a good team. I think they're going to do a lot of great things. And I think it's GonNa be interesting to see what happens when it comes tournament. Tom Number seven south South North Carolina. North Carolina is probably going to drop because they have two losses and nobody else in the top ten has two losses but they're gonNA drop because they have two losses and they have not played the greatest but they're still six into overall. There's no danger here. They're going to make the tournament they're going to get in. They're going to compete with Duke. Conversely the games with Duke are always the big game of the season for them nationally televised games and I think there will be just five for Roy Williams going to have those boys ready to go throughout the season and and they just got to keep your head on straight and they should be fine number. Six Ohio State Ohio state has been a pretty good basketball college program last year. They didn't have the greatest year this issue. They started off of undefeated start of really played very well and I think that from what I've seen their team that if they continue on this path they should win the big ten even even though there's some tough teams in the big ten like Michigan who talk about since they're in the top ten and also other teams like Iowa I will the other night play Michigan and Garza A had thirty one points and they still lost so the big ten. It's not easy conference. Big Ten is is considered outside. AC One of the best basketball conferences in all the NCWA number five Virginia Cavaliers Virginia Virginia has always been that one college basketball team. I say that nobody really talks about. They're not flashy. They don't have any players stories. That just stand out to you. They don't have any players. That just screamed superstar. A lot of their star players have been like just boring. They seem like just they're just guys they do everything you know i. I think that Virginia's team that's very well coach when the best defensive teams in the country last year especially when they won the national championship. They're they're the defending national champions. They're defending national. Champions for genius deserves the respect. They deserve everything that they that they're going to get this year. They are now the targeted because they are the champions and they're seventy one so far and I think Virginia we'll be right back in the tournament competing to defend their title. Because because what else would you expect Ridge Virginia program is headed upwards when you have to think about this too again there also in those teams. They're not getting the five stars they're not and they're still just as good so that just shows how great the coaching is. Therefore Michigan Obviously Michigan. I should get one of the most historic rises in people history being unranked to start the season jumping all the way up to number four after winning their invitational beating some of the best teams in in the invitational. And also just you know Juwan Howard done a great job taking over the program Odd Monitor. He he's getting these guys ready to go. They lost to Louisville. Oh Monday but that's okay too. 'cause I mean the wiggles number one team in the country so and we're going to get to them too but Michigan really just they they ear team definitely. I think I've noticed that when players coach their alma mater like former MBA players or former college players coaster upper mater. They always have that additional first couple years where they always play so well. You saw it at Georgetown you saw at uconn. I mean I. There could be a growing trend of players that actually coach their Alma maters. Because if you're having success like to want Howard at a at a pretty good basketball power Michigan not not as big as Duke and all of them but they're pretty good. They've always been a pretty good team. Michigan's always been pretty good team number three as Maryland. You could consider Maryland. One of the more shocks on their Maryland's a really good team. They're undefeated tenant O- on the season they they are very well coached Maryland has has guys. They have some some dogs on that team. I think Their team that they when they're definitely going to be competing with the top team because remember the ACC too so. They're going to be competing with Duke North Carolina. One of those three teams. I think is going to number one seed. I do really leap out of those three teams right now. The highest rank. ACC team actually umbrella. My Bed Louisville is but they're the second highest ACC team and then you have to think about it. So far on this list. I I've named five teams from the ACC in the top ten this is what. ACC considered the best basketball conference in all of college. Basketball Bolat of their teams is good. There's a lot of competition and honestly this is herb. It's deserved. I mean. They're defending national champion is coming from the ACC ACC so that's always a great thing for them never to Kansas kids aside accountable to me etc year last year. They weren't as good as they used. Were in previous years. But I feel like this year. They're going to get back to what they're usually at a pretty to best team in the big twelve baking tournament and making maybe a sweet sixteen run. This sure I think that bill self is going to really get these guys. Ready to go for the conference schedule is coming up. The big twelve was also very tough conference conference but I think Kansas usually wind most years and I think they're going to be able to get back on their on that same track this year. They have some great talent on that team. And I think that they're really going to be able but a common Breakthrough this year and then Lastly Louisville Louisville is the best team in the country. Right now they played the best even without Rick Pitino after getting fired after what happened this past off season they are. They're still clicking. On all cylinders they have superior Lee proved that the best team the nine season. They beat Michigan which the top four teams. So they've already beaten a top four team already. deathly I feel like lock for a number one seed for the tournament and I think that they're definitely GonNa make a good run. Obviously we're GONNA have to see what happens but you know. This team is definitely a team to be reckoned with now. Teams to watch out for Dayton data. Team that really impressed me they played. Kansas is in over the last week and they lost in overtime tool but they really in place me. They blew out Georgia. With Anthony Edwards Dayton is eighteen dollars. People didn't expect to be this good but they actually have a young superstar and a lot of good pieces on that team and that young superstar projected to be a top ten pick in the NBA draft. So I think that Dayton Ayton is definitely a team that they do you need to watch out for you not sleep on date and also Colorado Colorado's a team they're also the craft. AP twenty-five ranking their team. They just lost to Kansas. But it's all good because you know you have those games but the fact batteries they wanna make determine that is their goal that is that is the goal for them. Nobody really thinks of basketball in Colorado as a major thing but I think Toronto basketball this is sorry they can continue this and keep this up. I think they're going to be team to be reckoned with coming up next. I'll talk about must see players to watching college college basketball this year. They they got awesome guys. Obviously we're going to name a couple of guys we think are going to drop but also just some other players that maybe you haven't heard about that I've seen that I think is gonna be very impressive. Shakeout this show built around the women of MMA from the UFC to the extreme case fighting..

"Price Lewis and obviously this is the basketball podcast would be talking about both. NBA and college basketball. And we have a great show for you today. But let's get right into we're GONNA start with the NBA and the first quarter of the season is coming to an end. Basically basically by Christmas because after Christmas. That's why I say the NBA season starts. And I'm going to tell you that the top five teams in my opinion than four dark horse teams in the four up and coming teams that I feel it will come on later in the season and this is in no particular order for my top five teams. The I want to talk about. Is the Boston Celtics. The Boston Celtics are a team that has a prize a lot of people but they play well offensively and defensively. They're very well coached by Brad. Stevens Kemba Walker has came in there and has made a flawless transition to being their star. And we're going to a lot of Buckeye Kyri but I don't even I think it's it's it's the fact. That car is not there. I just feel like the team has more of an identity. Everybody knows the role because last year. It was Kinda hard knowing what everybody's roles because you were integrating Kyri and Gordon Hayward back into the lineup and I feel like they finally got it figured out this year Kimbe is the closer. He's the clutch which guy he sits everybody up Jason. TATUM's looking like how. He looked his rookie year. Jaylen Brown's like he's making strides and just overall. They seem like a very well. Put together team and mouth wide. There won the top teams in the Eastern Conference. My second team is the Lakers. The Lakers you know th th the best record in the West Lakers are so good. The broad is so good. He's proving to you why he was the best player in the League for so long. Anthony Davis is a beast. He's one of the best big men I I think when it's all said and done to play this game and if he gets some championships with the broad it will definitely his case and I think that it's it's going to be very interesting to see where this team goes. The chemistry looks great. Everything looks great. The team looks very well put together. Everybody seems to know their role in their gelling and the reviving careers careers Allah. Dwight Howard my next team is the clippers now from a record perspective very kind of near the middle of the NBA BA in terms of between ten and thirteen. But we all know when it's all said in the playoffs star. The clippers are going to be the team that we all expect them to be the a team that we think. La The Lakers have to go through to get to the finals. They have Qui- Paul George. They both play well. They already have a Great Defensive Unit with you've Patrick Beverley and mantras Herro who's obese and the boards and underneath the independent and also just the fact that they have Lou Williams we forget about Louis Lou Williams is when the best scorers in the game. Today he is literally their third closer and some nights he will be the closer so clippers are definitely a team that I think is going to be there in the in. The Milwaukee Bucks have impressed me the walkie bus ie is the top team. It's crazy because Michael Brogden lost a couple of other guys but they're still just as good they still look just as dominant. They still look like the best team in the east. By far in my opinion they just seem like a well complete team booting hoses when the best coaches in the NBA. My opinion and I think that that will help them down the stretch. Because I think again it's all about identity. One almost of these teams have an identity. They know who who they are. They know what they do. They know where to go and I think walkie has their identity. And that's why they're so good. And then lastly the rockets I feel like they're jailing. Finally I think hard and Westbrook brooker learning how to play together Russell's taking more of a backseat role and he's learning how to play in that. Be The main guy and I think that's more beneficial because I feel that they will need him in the playoffs if they want to upset one the La late teams and potentially try to make it to the finals. Because you could technically say this is their best year since states not to get any more for them to make it to the finals. Now my two four dark horse teams are not really dark horse but teams that have played very well to start the season and I think these are teams that we never really thought maybe see when a championship but could surprise and people could create some upsets and cook quick create some chaos when the playoffs come around. I is the Toronto Raptors. They've played extremely well. Fought quiet Leonard. You know people thought that when Kawai left the raptors would still be a decent team but they wouldn't be as good as good as they've shown and I think that's what makes this so impressive. Siachen him has really grew into his own. Siachen has really approved as a player. He he's relieved turning into a superstar before very is you still have vanfleet. Who I think is the Best S.? Point Guard out of the two point guards and honestly the raptors are just structured. Well they're structured from the top to bottom all the way from management coaching. And I think that's why they're always a good team and they're always going to be in the in the mix every year next is Dallas Mavericks. They are a team that we didn't know what to expect. A lot of people really did not predict douse to do that much this year. I thought they may be a seat issue. But Luca Danni has displayed out of his mind. He has established himself as potentially if he continues to play this rate in some people's mind could potentially flee stabbed himself as a top ten player. Sleek he's that good he is really just an amazing player and the whole team is a great offensive obtain. That's their that's their strength. Their their scores they score. And you're gonNA outscore Dow's if you'RE GONNA be Dallas Dallas needs to work on the defensive end but they're one of the best offensive teams uh-huh definitely in the NBA. Also my next team is Miami. Heat they are team that has surprised. A lot of people Jimmy Butler went to this team. That shocked a lot of people. Thought why would you go there. They're not GonNa win a championship. Why would you not want to win championships over thirty what are you doing? You could've stayed in and Philadelphia but Jimmy Butler knew. This was the best decision for him new this message for his future and he wanted his own team and the heat. One thing about Pat Riley's he knows how to put together and they are excellent at drafting Taylor hero and none have came out to be great players for them also Bam on a bio. He's also one of the incoming gyms. This team really overall is built very well. Now we may think right now. They're too young to win but they have some guys that deathly can make it interesting and don't be surprised. They eat a upset in the eastern conference playoffs coming up in a spring and then now lastly for our my top four dark horse teams. Almost talk about the Indiana Pacers. I think the Pacers Pacers are a team that a lot of people don't think about because it's the pacers even with all the people you don't think about him but all the depot honestly we could say last year if the Pacers had L. Depot. They would be the Boston Celtics. All the depot really is considered him a B. Plus player but he's really one of the top players in the league. I think the Pacers are definitely team. That is going to make havoc for a lot of teams and I think they're going to really make some things happen now. I'm not saying they're going to do anything crazy. But I think they're definitely GONNA be a tough out and now might mytalk four up and coming team these teams that have it really had the greatest start or to the season but could definitely get healthy or things change. Maybe something change in the locker room. I think they could really make a jump during the season. Now this I was going to surprise you because of how bad the record is right now but I'm GonNa go with the Atlanta Hawks. This is my first team because think about Las John College for Twenty Five Games considerably their second best player. They've lost kept hurt her. who was expected to make a big jump this year? It's basically trae young Jabari Parker and everybody else because no one else is really helping those two and athlete. That's that's why they've suffered record is the next is the blazers. Obviously we all know about the Carmelo story Carmelo coming back I think is great for the League. CARMO is showing us. Why why we should dude appreciate him while he's here because these teams won't you seen it with your own eyes? They disrespected Carmelo Multiple Times. Any right now. He's he's basically. This is a retirement tour. This this is a stick it to you tour showing them. You should pick me up because you could have had this too and I think the blazers with all the talent they have and when they all the pieces fit together because they have a lot of pieces this year. I think they're gonNA be a team. Definitely be reckon with in the Western Conference and I think they'll make the playoffs imbue. Tensely make a run and then lastly or my actually my last two teams i. I is the timber wolves. They started off pretty decent coffee. Houses had a great year. Wiggins is playing better than expected. I think the timber wolves could be maybe eight seven seat in the West right now. They're a game two games under five hundred but I think that can change. I really think this team as a team. That's dangerous and you need to watch out for them and definitely you need to make sure you don't sleep on these guys because they will beat you indoor building. They are not an easy out. A lastly. The Brooklyn Nets. I fully Brooklyn Clinton. You know obviously you're trying to get chemistry retiree and they're trying to get everything down. You know a little different when you have a team last year who was young and play together and got to the lay offs and you bring in in a more of a more dominant personality and try to fit them into that group. It could be a little difference but there is one thing I don't like about. It is the fact that everybody thinks that it was like without Kyri and I just think that's not true. That's not true at all I I would. I would never say that the Democrats are better Valkyrie. And actually. That's GONNA lead me into my next minute coming up after the break coming appear. I'm I'm GonNa Talk to you about why think this narrative that teams are better without their star player when they because of how the personality is is just is wrong.
